You just thought you were going to pass your disastrous budget bill and what, Just hang out in Mar a Lago and party? Not the way it's going to go down. Americans hate y'.
Ben
All.
Chris
And finally, Democrats are channeling that hatred and calling you idiots out. Let me first show you Democratic Congress member Jamie Raskin here. Raskin says, let's talk about the Epstein list, huh? Why would Trump not release it at this point? Maga Mike, huh? Real me that Maga Mike. Here, play this clip.
David
Look, why would Trump not want to release it at this point when he's been demanding an open, complete, comprehensive accounting and release either one. He's implicated and they don't want to doctor the tapes or at least doctor them any further because there is that mysterious one minute missing of the tape in the prison. But so either he's implicated or there are other high ranking Republicans he's covering up for, or there are people on there that he wants to use this as leverage against, which we know is also a big mo for Donald Trump. He would like to have the coercive leverage of possessing this arsenal of information around them.
Chris
And so then Jamie Raskin says, we want hearings on this. I'll ask Jim Jordan of the Judiciary Committee or maga, Mike or whoever. Let's have a hearing. Let's subpoena Cash Patel and Dan Bongino. Let's bring him right here and let's talk Epstein here. Play this clip.
David
It'd be much better for everybody to come clean and let's vindicate the public interest here. I'm going to be asking Chairman Jordan to call for a hearing where we subpoena the Attorney General and Dan Bongino and Cash Patel to come in and tell us everything that we know. Because this thing is really spinning out of control at this point. And there's one way to put it to rest, which is to come clean as President Trump promised he would during the campaign.
Chris
And did you notice that the White House just, they're playing defense finally, for once, this is what you got to do, Dems. You got to be aggressive like this. So the White House then shows this photo of Democratic Congress member Jimmy Gomez, like an AI version of him. They go ICE raids marijuana farms filled with illegal aliens. They're just strawberry pickers. And then you know what Congressmember Gomez does? Boom. He goes, here's a photo of you and Jeffrey Epstein. You're covering up for Epstein. You're covering up the Epstein files because you're likely all over them. Donald Trump at White House. If you're now concerned about child exploitation, release the Epstein files. Your base want to know. And by the way, as I said before, folks, Epstein used Mar A Lago as one of the main places that he got the girls who he sex trafficked. It. It's out there. It's already in the files that are out there. How do you think Epstein found Virginia Giuffre? She was an underage girl. She was homeless. She got a job at Mar A Lago. Elaine Maxwell, who would do the sex trafficking for Epstein, went to Mar A Lago, found Jiuffrey brought her to Epstein, and then the rest is history. That's what went down at Mar A Lago. And then Donald Trump said, epstein's a great guy. He likes girls on the younger side. Donald Trump was all over Epstein's flight log. Donald Trump's all over the depositions on the things that are already released, right? And then I had the opportunity to interview Congressmember Moskowitz, and here's what he told me. Here, play this clip.
Evan
I mean, I'm sure we're moments away from her coming out and saying, who's Jeffrey Epstein? Never existed, never was a guy. I mean, look, you don't. Don't listen to me. Go look at what's going on on the right. I mean, MAGA is losing their shit over this. Okay? It's on my desk. The list is on my desk. It's imminent. It's coming. Boom. No list. I mean, they got. I mean, Jelaine is in Maxwell's, in prison, okay? Because of Jeffrey Epstein. Because of the list. Okay? There's, you know, a thousand victims, but there's no list. I mean, look, this is unfortunately one more of the lies this one the Attorney General's caught up in, but this is one more of the lies that people were sold during the election, okay? But it was one of those lies that the right MAGA really wanted the information on. And I will tell you that you can extrapolate the lie here to other things we were told that are also not true and not going to be true into the future. So, yeah, I mean, did you get one of those white binders, Ben? You know, it wasn't. It wasn't. The list wasn't in there. Remember the whole white binder thing?
Chris
I mean, I stopped getting the invites to the White House a little bit ago. They don't really want us to.
Evan
I'll make you a white binder. I have bad news. There won't be anything in it because apparently there's no list. I mean, maybe she has no desk. Maybe when she said, like, it's on my desk, and we're like, okay, maybe it turns out there's no desk. I mean, who knows what's going on over there?
Chris
And by the way, you can see that these MAGA Republicans are feeling heat. And by the way, the reporting from CNN and Kaitlan Collins, who's got contacts inside the White House, she goes, the White House is getting very frustrated about what's taking place here. Play this clip.
Ben
Officials inside the White House are very frustrated because they feel like this news cycle is only getting worse for them. And it is not from people that they can easily dismiss or say it's the media or Democrats. It is their own base that is so furious and so angry over how they've handled this. And the question is how they get out of it. And it could result in the departure of the deputy FBI director over this.
Chris
Now, here's Democratic Congress member Torres. Here's what he had to say. He goes, A wise person once said, when a clown enters the palace, the clown does not become a king. Here, play this clip.
Alex
You know, wise person once said, when a clown enters the palace, the clown does not become a king. The palace becomes a circus. And so we're seeing a confirmation that the Trump presidency is nothing more than a glorified circus, staffed not by actual government professionals, but by clowns, by television personalities. And Donald Trump and his acolytes have spent their political career fanning the flames of conspiratorial politics. And now it's coming back to Hunt. You know, Cash Patel and Dan Bongino falsely accused the Biden administration of, quote, unquote, a cover up of the Jeffrey Epstein conspiracy. But for me, the worst offender is Pam Bondi, who as attorney general said that the Epstein client list was on her desk waiting for review. And that turned out to be a lie. And so the Trump administration has no one and nothing to blame but itself for fanning the flames of conspiratorial politics.

And by the way, I gotta give a hat tip also to the Democratic minority leader in Texas. Do y' all know this guy? Because he's a superstar out there in Texas and he deserves more attention. Um, you have Representative Wu and here's what he has to say. He's like, I know that Governor Abbott and Trump, they want to keep saying It's a once in 500 year storm. It's a once in 1000 year storm storm. Okay, well those shouldn't be happening every six months or every year then. It doesn't make it a once in 500. Here, play this clip.
Alex
The New York Times reported this year the Texas legislature funded only a very small portion of this backlog of flood management projects totaling some $54 billion. $54 billion, because as you note, these floods are not new. This is the worst of them. But the idea of flooding in this area and other parts of Texas is a constant, constant threat to lives. So this $54 billion went largely unfunded, but the legislature did pass $51 billion of property tax cuts. What was your take on that? So this was one of the things that we've been railing against. Democrats in this House, whether this session or previous session, continuously offer bills to help prepare for disasters. Rep. Martinez had a bill this time that would help us locate victims faster. Rep. And Chia had a bill to say let's have preparedness studies for these extreme storms. Rep. Reynolds had a bill that say let's push money into damaged communities faster. Every single one of these bills and a dozen other bills were all killed by Republicans and for no reason at all. Every single time Democrats try to bring up that it's not just a hundred year storms, it's a 200 year storms. It's the 500 year storms that keep hitting every single year. And we're saying there's something wrong with that. You're not supposed to have 500 year events every single year. And every time Democrats offer up legislation, amendments to say, let's do something about this, let's save lives, let's prepare, it's uniformly rejected on party lines by Republicans.
Chris
Here's another clip right here of Democrat Texas House Minority Leader Gene Wu and he says, look, he says the fact that the Trump regime keeps calling people who are asking for accountability losers, he goes, I can't even imagine the pain that must cause Here. Play this clip.
Alex
At the same news conference, Governor Abbott called, quote, questions about blame the, quote, word choice of losers. What was your reaction when you heard that? I mean, this is, even as a parent just watching this from the outside, like, I, it's painful to watch this. And I can not imagine what it's like for those families who are going through this. And I know it's early, I know there's, it's still time to grieve. It's time to, to bury our loved ones. But to tell parents who are asking tough questions, why did this happen? This was known as flash flood alley. There's been numerous flash floods here. Other campers have died before they knew that this was a problem. This local area had asked for, asked for warning systems for eight years from the state. I know there's a, there is a future time to have questions answered. But to call parents who are asking these tough questions losers, that, that is, it just compounds the pain that the governor is causing.
Chris
But it's not a both sides issue. Did you hear what he said? Right, Representative Woo. But Minority Leader Wu is, he's just like, look, we keep entering legislation that tries to solve these problems year after year after year. We know the problem and the MAGA Republicans block it. And then when tragedy strikes, they're like, ah, you can't talk about it no more. Everybody just needs to pray. Just pray. We did a great job. Pray everybody. We need prayers. No, just do your job in government or then just don't be in government. MAGA Republicans, I mean, what the hell are you doing? Speaking of what the hell are you doing? Everybody remember MAGA Republican Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna, right? She was the one who led the Epstein committee, remember the subcommittee. And she was going to get to the bottom of it. This was her big issue. Well, now that Donald Trump is saying that there's no Epstein list and Trump is covering it up. Anna, Pauline has now changed her tune. She goes, I don't think Trump's on the list here. Play this clip.
Ben
We'll continue to push for that release call forth, but it's been deafening. How many members of Congress have been silent on this? And should we clear. Also, I want to clear something up. I do not think, and I've told this to multiple media outlets because I've been getting questions on this. Is Trump on the Epstein clientele's no. And I'm very positive that. Because if he was, it would have released it during the election cycle. But what I do know and what I'm seeing right now across, you know, every aspect, whether it's rich, poor, famous, not famous, people have actual concerns are people basically paying off, paying off people to be quiet. And that's not okay.
Chris
Don't again, this is what, this is why you got to get aggressive. Cuz they look weak. Here's maga, Republican Congress member Tim Burchett. Here's what he's got to say here, play it.
Greg
That's what you ran against was everything that he did. And so if he did the exact opposite, I mean, just doesn't figure. Yeah, everybody's upset about this X Team thing. I'm sure Trump is too. But I don't think Trump's on that list because I think if he was, if there is in fact a list. But you know, I've studied criminal and criminal behavior for a very long time and they rarely keep a list of the criminals that they do business with. But I suspect what you'll find eventually is going to be those flight logs. And the flight logs don't show anything other than people flooding with him.
Chris
And here's Burchett again. Let's play it.
Ben
Congressman Burchett, can I ask you, because you defended Dan Bongino, you said he's a friend of yours and you talked about his time in the Secret Service. The deputy director at the FBI is an incredibly serious job and they do a lot of the work running that department. As we've spoken to past FBI deputy FBI directors about this. Is it okay with you if he just doesn't go to work because he and Pam Bondi are in a fight about the Epstein files?
Greg
I can remember during the Biden administration, you had the man who was over our military didn't show up.
Ben
Yeah, but this is about right now, what's happening with the president. You voted.
Greg
I don't remember and I don't remember cnn. I don't remember CNN raising a ruckus. Or the Democrats.
Ben
Oh, we did cover Secretary Austin's hospitalization.
Greg
He's never away from his. He's never away from his phone, he's never away from his computer. And just because he's not in the office does not mean he's working. Honestly, I do more work when I'm out of Washington D.C. than I do when I'm in Washington D.C. and I don't, I don't see any real correlation that it's it's symbolic at best, but it just shows his frustration and I think the frustration the rest of the country right now.
Chris
Weak. Right? I mean truly, truly weak. You know, and then I'll just share with you here. This was on Friday when Laura Ingraham was in Tampa before the Turning Points USA MAGA conference. Look how she was greeted at the MAGA conference. Watch this.
Evan
How many of you are satisfied? You can.
Ben
You can clap.
Evan
Satisfied with the results of the Epstein investigation. Clap.
Ben
Okay, I told you to clap. You guys aren't listening. I'm not going to grade you on a curve.
Alex
So I was going to get to that.
Evan
How many of you are not satisfied.
Ben

The MeidasTouch Podcast: "Panicked Republicans Freeze as Dems Finally Go on Offense"
Release Date: July 13, 2025
Hosts: Ben Meiselas, Brett Meiselas, and Jordy Meiselas
Podcast: The MeidasTouch Podcast
Description: Combining brotherly banter, comedy, and incisive political analysis, The MeidasTouch Podcast delves into current events with a focus on supporting democracy. This episode, titled "Panicked Republicans Freeze as Dems Finally Go on Offense," explores the shifting dynamics in American politics as Democrats take a more aggressive stance against Republican actions, particularly those associated with the MAGA movement and Donald Trump.
The episode kicks off with the hosts highlighting a significant strategic pivot by the Democratic Party. Previously perceived as reactive, Democrats are now proactively challenging Republican strategies and narratives. This shift marks a critical moment in the political landscape, signaling increased polarization and heightened tensions between the two parties.
Ben Meiselas remarks on this development:
“Oh, Maga Mike and Jim Jordan, you weren't expecting this? You weren't expecting Democrats to get aggressive and to go on the offense? Well, that's what we're seeing.” ([02:15])
A substantial portion of the discussion centers around the ongoing investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and the alleged "Epstein list." Democrats, led by figures like Congressmember Jamie Raskin, are demanding transparency and accountability, pressing for hearings and the release of incriminating documents.
Jamie Raskin advocates for transparency:
“Why would Trump not want to release it at this point when he's been demanding an open, complete, comprehensive accounting and release either one.” ([02:38])
The hosts argue that Trump’s reluctance to release the Epstein list suggests either his involvement or an attempt to protect high-ranking Republicans, casting a shadow over his administration.
Ben Meiselas asserts:
“I do not think, and I've told this to multiple media outlets because I've been getting questions on this, is Trump on the Epstein clientele's list. And I'm very positive that because if he was, it would have released it during the election cycle.” ([14:54])
As Democrats escalate their investigations, Republicans, particularly those aligned with the MAGA movement, appear unsettled and defensive. The White House is depicted as increasingly frustrated, not just with external pressures but also with internal dissent and the volatile reactions from their own base.
Chris Meiselas comments on the internal GOP turmoil:
“Officials inside the White House are very frustrated because they feel like this news cycle is only getting worse for them.” ([07:19])
The discussion reveals cracks within the Republican ranks, highlighting concerns over leadership and the potential fallout, including high-profile departures like that of the deputy FBI director.
Congressmember Jimmy Gomez metaphorically describes Trump's presidency as a "circus," emphasizing the chaos and lack of qualified governance. This characterization underscores the frustration among Democrats regarding the Trump administration’s handling of critical issues.
Jimmy Gomez states:
A wise person once said, when a clown enters the palace, the clown does not become a king. The palace becomes a circus. ([07:50])
This sentiment is echoed by the hosts, who criticize the intertwining of entertainment and politics, suggesting that Trump and his allies prioritize spectacle over substantive governance.
The episode highlights the unexpected shifts within Republican figures, such as Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna, who previously led the Epstein subcommittee but has since distanced herself from the investigation. This change of stance adds to the narrative of instability and uncertainty within the GOP.
Anna Paulina Luna comments:
“I don't think Trump's on the list here. And I'm very positive that because if he was, it would have released it during the election cycle.” ([14:54])
Shifting focus, the hosts discuss the inadequate response to recurring natural disasters in Texas. Texas House Minority Leader Gene Wu criticizes the Republican majority for blocking essential legislation aimed at disaster preparedness and response. Despite the increasing frequency and severity of storms, legislative efforts to mitigate these crises are consistently stymied by partisan opposition.
Gene Wu emphasizes:
“We keep entering legislation that tries to solve these problems year after year after year. We know the problem and the MAGA Republicans block it.” ([12:52])
The hosts highlight the discrepancy between the urgent needs of disaster-stricken communities and the Republican priority of passing property tax cuts over funding critical flood management projects.
The conversation culminates in a critique of the Republican Party's credibility and effectiveness. The hosts argue that the party's alignment with conspiratorial politics and resistance to accountability measures are eroding public trust. This erosion is contrasted with the Democrats' commitment to transparency and governance, further solidifying the current political divide.
Ben Meiselas concludes:
“If he was, it would have released it during the election cycle. But what I do know and what I'm seeing right now across, you know, every aspect, whether it's rich, poor, famous, not famous, people have actual concerns are people basically paying off people to be quiet. And that's not okay.” ([14:54])
