Remember, Donald Trump ran for office saying he would lower costs on day one. Cost of groceries are up, cost of housing is up, cost of health care is up. And where is Donald Trump? He's passing a signature bill to throw people off their health care so he can do tax cuts for billionaires. And Democrats are the people who say billionaires actually should pay their fair share and that we need to focus on affordability for American families. And that's what we're out there fighting for.

He's also dropping a cool $200 million to do a bunch of work on the White House to make it look more like Mar a Lago. By the way, one of the grounds for Epstein sex trafficking and how this can seem to penetrate the news cycle is a mystery to someone with greater knowledge of journalism than me should explain. I'll just say this. We are the new cycle now. Independent media, the Midas Touch network right here. More people are watching this than cable news. We just need a better frame of reference. And I, and I have to tell you this because I'm so inspired not only by all of you that decided to show up today, but right before I got over here, my former colleagues from the Texas House, those Texas Democrats, decided to get the hell out of Texas. They decided to use whatever tools they could. And breaking quorum is where they are at right now. And they didn't just do it by themselves. They went to Illinois where there is a governor that gives a damn. You see, this fight is going to take all of us. That is why I say we are one.

But now, here's what Greg Abbott said earlier this morning, threatening Democrats with arrest for bribery in the state for leaving so that there could not be a quorum for the MAGA Republicans to rig the Texas maps. Here, play this clip.

Said in your statement that you put out today to all of them in a letter to them, you said, in addition to abandoning their offices, these legislators may also have committed felonies. What is the felony? What are the penalties for this?

Donald Trump (9:51)

So very simply, it would be bribery if any lawmaker took money to perform or to refuse to perform an act in the legislature. And the reports are these legislators have been both, they sought money and they offered money to skip the vote, to leave the legislature, to take a legislative act, that would be bribery. And so the facts will have to come out. But I think based upon comments made by legislators themselves, they face a possibility of facing bribery charges, which is a second degree felony in the state of Texas. There's one way to cure that, and that is if they get back to the state of Texas and make quorum today at a hearing that we have at 3 o', clock, they can cure themselves of any quid pro quo that would subject them to potential bribery charges.

All right. And by the way, here is Donald Trump's top economic adviser, Kevin Hassett, the National Economic Council director. And here he even makes a pretty stun admission that he had the job, numbers were slower than expected. And you know, when he's admitting that things are looking grim here. Play this clip.

Economic Analyst (11:04)

Just the markets seem to believe the revisions in the numbers more than they believe the original numbers. That's why you saw bond yields tumble on Friday. Are you in agreement with that? Do you think we are starting to see a real slowdown in the jobs market?

Kevin Hassett (11:19)

Yeah, I think that the jobs numbers were slower than we expected. I think that like one of the explanations for revisions is they have more complete data. And so I think it is likely that the revisions are a better read of the data if the data are not being manipulated. And so, yeah, I would say that it's a little bit weaker. But don't forget this is before the big beautiful bill is really kicking in. And so with our eyes on the horizon, we're highly optimistic about the future of this economy. We've got the big beautiful bill. We've got expensing of factories, got no taxes on tips tariffs. We've got incomes going up $10,000 for a typical family. And we've got all of that happening while the budget deficit is declining rapidly because of the tariff revenue. And so there are a lot of really good reasons to be super optimistic about the second half of the year. But absolutely, that jobs number, if the revision turns out to be true, does suggest that there's less momentum than we thought. And you know, you could say that the centers at the Fed saw this coming. They specifically mentioned that there were signs of labor market weakening. They were pointing, I think to the ADP release as much as anything. And so, yeah, I think that the pressure on the Fed to get its policy in order is going to be higher because of this. And that's proving that the president was right about it.

Finally, you have the Democratic governor of New York, Governor Hochul, saying gloves are off. This is war. If Texas is going to do an unlawful gerrymander, well, New York's going to remove our independent commission and we're going to get rid the Republican congressional districts. California saying we'll get rid of the Republican congressional. If this is the fight that Republicans want to have, Democrats are not going to unilaterally disarm and lie over in the fetal position and let Republicans do it. If this is the fight that Republicans want, Governor Hochul, Governor Pritzker, Governor Newsom and others are saying bring the fight on here, play this clip.
