Powerful protests Yesterday in Washington D.C. and across the country. I'm going to show you those protests in just a moment. But Donald Trump fled to Florida where he's been hiding in his safe spaces golfing all day. While we see Americans out there on the streets not being covered by corporate news, but being covered here on the Midas Touch Network, you can see what Donald Trump's been doing. There he is at his golf resorts, kind of hiding in his safe space, making people clap for him. You see him golfing right there. And of course, this follows Donald Trump's disastrous meeting with Vladimir Putin in Alaska, where Putin's foreign minister showed up in in a USSR shirt. Putin and Sergei Lavrov, his foreign minister, mocked Donald Trump, mocked the United States. Trump ordered United States troops to get on their knees and roll out the red carpet for Vladimir Putin. Putin walked away with a major diplomatic win, legitimizing himself to the world at the expense of America, humiliating itself before the world. And then Donald Trump's been spending the last 48 hours telling Ukraine it needs to give up Donbass, an area that it still controls that's heavily fortified to Vladimir Putin. Trump just saying give up the land. Give Putin the land. And Trump just parroting Putin's talking points. Let me show you this. Another scene from the Washington D.C. protests from yesterday. Here, play this clip.

Let me show you some of the powerful protests on the streets in Denver against the Trump regime and his ICE Gestapo. Here, play this clip right here. And again, are you seeing this anywhere else other than on the Midas Touch Network? Here was we see hundreds, thousands actually packing the streets. They're walking here to the White House and they're chanting, Trump must go. Trump must go. Here, watch this. And here are some of the photos from this incredible protest right in front of the White House. Began on Dupont Circle. Marching right in front of the White House. It was incredible indeed. Remember, we've seen these protests in Los Angeles as well.

Here are the protests in la. Let me show you these. Let's play them. And then over the weekend, or right before the weekend rather, we saw those protests in Anchorage, Alaska. The, the people in Anchorage showing up protesting Donald Trump and he visit from Putin. The people in Alaska realize that Putin wants to take over Alaska and Russia. The USSR considers Alaska to be part of Russia. It's one of the reasons Putin was happy to do it in Alaska. Watch some of those protesters here. Play this clip. And this was Washington D.C. last night. You'll see the protests at one of the checkpoints at 14th and W Street in D.C. where Trump sent his ICE goons and border Patrol goons. Here, watch this.

Again, going back to Donald Trump from this disastrous meeting with Putin, you'll observe that he was unable to walk in a straight line. We've been covering in detail here Donald Trump's rapidly accelerating cognitive decline. I did a whole video on it yesterday. I've been focused on laser focused. Over the past four and a half, five years, Donald Trump's been hiding his medical records from the public. Instead, he's been out there releasing either medical records that he writes himself as his former doctor, Dr. Borenstein said that Trump wrote those previous records or Donald Trump's having the doctors write things like Donald Trump's health is demonstrated by the fact that he wins all of these golf tournaments. I mean, so utterly pathetic. We talked about this yesterday, but it bears repeating again. NPR was reporting that documents with sensitive details, potentially classified documents about that meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin were left behind at the local Alaska Anchorage hotel printer. And so one of the things we learned from looking at this was some of the specifics about what was going to take place at the meeting. And then there was a gift that Donald Trump was giving Putin. Donald. Which was not made public. But now we know Trump handed Putin an American bald eagle desk statue. So just to see Donald Trump there clapping in front of a genocidal maniac who kidnapped 40,000 Ukrainian kids, sex trafficked them, killed them, stole them. I guess Donald Trump has a type when it comes to traffickers. And then all of the deaths of innocent Ukrainians that Putin caused, including during the summit, Putin was having Russia attack innocent Ukrainians. And then Donald Trump just clapping, rolling out the red carpet for Putin. It was such a humiliate, probably one of the most humiliating days in American history. As Helen Kennedy writes what the headline should have been, the Art of the Neil Donald Trump Kneeling to Vladimir Putin Associated Press headline from today, the summit puts Putin back on the global stage. And Trump now echoes the Kremlin position. What is the Kremlin position? No ceasefire. Ukraine gives up basically most of eastern Ukraine. Vladimir Putin allows Ukrainians to keep the Ukrainian language. Oh, thank you, Vladimir. Thank you. And then we see where we go from there. That's what Donald Trump's trying to force on Ukraine. Ukraine and Europe are saying, absolutely not. Zelinsky will be meeting with Donald Trump at the White House tomorrow. This from the Telegraph. Putin got exactly what he wanted from Trump. After US President's pampering Russian leader will feel he has shown the world he's back where he belongs. The headlines from Dredge report Trump aligns with Putin, Reverses cease fire. Demand Zelinsky to head to Washington. And this headline from the Kiev Independent Ukrainians see nothing good from the Trump meeting. One of the things we're learning as well, the Wall Street Journal exclusively reported. So the National Guard that Donald Trump is sending into Washington D.C. he'll be sending more National Guard to Washington D.C. but he's going to start arming them with weapons of war. So they're going to be walking around the streets with the military equivalents of, like, Your ARs, your AR15s. They're going to be walking around threatening, harassing and intimidating people throughout Washington, D.C. let me give you a comparison about what's taking place, like right now as I'm recording this, in Serbia, for example, in Belgrade, Serbia, the Vucic regime there in Serbia, which is very close with Vladimir Putin the way Trump is close with Putin. So Vucic and his brother, they have their own version of ice, or their own federal agents, their own Customs and Border Patrol. Like, that's what Donald Trump's doing. He's building a Lukashenko, a Vucic, a Putin, a Kim Jong Un style personal military that he sends to attack people. Like, that's what he's doing. So I'm showing you a scene in Belgrade right now. I want you to watch it and you'll see like, like their version of ice, Vucic's version of ice, attacking the protesters. That's what the streets of America will be looking like soon. Here, play this clip. The former ambassador to Russia, Michael McFaul. Professor McFaul, post this graphic from Theresa Fallon and it bears repeating. Trump wants you to forget these inconvenient facts. Russia's attacks on Ukraine have doubled since Trump's inauguration. You see it in the graph right there. Let me just repeat that fact. Russian attacks on Ukraine have doubled since Trump's inauguration. So whenever Trump says, ah, the war would never have happened if I were president, things have gotten exponentially worse since you've been in office is what the data shows. What else does the data show? Americans have not been this gloomy about the job market since the Great Recession. So most Americans believe that unemployment is surging, inflation is surging, and that we're in a recession. It's the same type of data we saw in the Great Recession amongst consumer confidence being so low. And that indicates that consumers are pulling back their spending. That's a big, big problem. So Donald Trump's at his safe space, golfing taxpayer dime. That's what he's doing. Americans are out there protesting. You see them in full effect. And we're covering it all on the Midas Touch Network. Thank you so much for your confidence and your trust in this network. We appreciate you so much. Hit subscribe. Podcast: The MeidasTouch Podcast
Hosts: Ben, Brett, and Jordy Meiselas
Date: August 17, 2025
In this episode, the Meiselas brothers examine the eruption of anti-Trump protests nationwide, focusing on the former president's controversial actions and his retreat to Florida in the face of public outrage. The brothers discuss Trump’s recent humiliating diplomatic meeting with Vladimir Putin in Alaska, his subsequent demands for Ukraine to cede territory, and the intensification of state and federal force–including arming National Guard troops in Washington, D.C. They frame these events within the broader context of eroding democracy and draw historical global comparisons. True to form, they blend brotherly banter with unapologetic advocacy for democratic values, punctuated by eyewitness clips from the streets.
