It started with a fence leaning weather worn, one of those things you stop noticing until one day it just fell over. The neighbor next door retired. Fixed income. She couldn't afford to replace it, so I took a photo of the fallen fence and wrote a few lines about who she is, how she always waves from her porch. How she still puts out Halloween candy just in case someone comes by. I, I started a GoFundMe. People donated, not a lot, 20 here, 10 there. And when the GoFundMe reached its goal, we hired someone local, got the materials, and put it back up by Sunday. She hit a brand new fence, stronger than before. And somehow it wasn't just her fence anymore, it was ours. One small gesture can bring people together in big ways. If there's someone on your mind, now's the time to do something about it. Well, here he goes again. Donald Trump, ranting and raving like a lunatic and panicking in public on his social media platform like a deranged third grader. No offense to deranged third graders who are far more mature to. Donald Trump is posting the following. Leave the great former president of Brazil alone witch hunt, exclamation point. He's talking about Jair Bolsonaro, who led an insurrection in Brazil. Donald Trump then posted, I brought down costs more than any president in recorded history. The crooked Democrats are using the opposite narrative even though they know it is a total lie. And lie is all in caps. Remember this when you hear their phony sound bites. Maga. Exclamation point, exclamation point, exclamation point. Okay, prices are up right now. We know that when we go to stores. There's a reason why online shopping right now is at a like a low for the decade. It's Amazon Prime Day and Amazon Prime Day. We're seeing a massive drop in sales there and we're seeing a massive drop across online shopping in general. Right now. You can threaten your oligarch friends to remove notifications on their websites that the reason for price increases is because of tariffs. But we the people understand that tariffs are taxes on the importers which are passed to consumers. We are the ones being taxed then. Donald Trump continues to attack the chairman of the Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell. This morning he goes, anybody but too late. And he puts that in all caps. Anybody but too late. That's the nickname that he gives to the chairman of the Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell. He calls him too late. Donald Trump appointed Jerome Powell and this is why the United States dollar is off to the worst start since 1973. Because increasingly America is becoming less and less the world's reserve currency with the dollar. Because people see an unstable madman running the United States like a psycho authoritarian. Then Donald Trump posts our Fed rate is at least three points too high, too late is costing the US $360 billion a point per year in refinancing costs. No inflation. Companies pouring into America, the hottest country in the world. Lower the rate. He goes the hottest. We're so hot. Is what he likes to always say over and over again. There's a reason why the chairman of the Federal Reserve is an independent position. Because the interference in this case that Donald Trump is engaging in is what causes massive, massive problems in an economy. And Donald Trump continuing to do that is going to cause massive systemic problems that we're seeing. Also Donald Trump was posting his letters all morning like a letter and to the Sultan of Brunei letting them know you are now hereby tariff 25% Sultan of Brunei. Donald Trump also tariffed the Philippines 20% Moldova 25% Algeria 30% Iraq 30% and Libya 30%. And here's just you can see Donald Trump's letter that he posted to the Sultan of Brunei. It is a great honor for me to send you this letter and that it demonstrates the strength and commitment of our trading relationship and the fact that the United States of America has agreed to continue working with Brunei despite having a significant trade deficit with your great country. Nevertheless, we have decided to move forward with you, but only with a more balanced and fair trade. Therefore, we invite you to participate in the extraordinary economy of the United States, the number one market in the world. Sultan by far. We have had years to discuss our trading relationships with Brunei. Have we and have concluded that we must move away from these long term and very persistent trade deficits engendered was ridiculous letter engendered by Brunei's tariffs and non tariff policies and trade barriers. Our relationship has been unfortunately far from reciprocal. Sultan Starting on August 1, 2025 we will charge Brunei only 25% on any and all Brunei. Brunei and products sent it to the United States separate from all sectoral tariffs. Goods tranship to evade a higher tariff will be subject to the higher what are we talking about here? Of course there's going to be a deficit with Brunei. 1 I don't even fully know our trading relationship with Brunei but what do we expect is going to happen? All of a sudden the people in Brunei are just going to start buying all of these American it's the most ridiculous letter I've Ever read. As I noted earlier in this video, Amazon's prime day sales fell almost 14% in the first hours of the event compared with the start of last year's sale, according to Momentum Commerce, which manages 50 brands and a variety of product categories. Also, online shopping sees its biggest slowdown in over a decade as tariffs disrupt E Commerce. Trump's trade war and the tariff policies are contributing to the widespread. The first widespread pullback in the online sales category growth in over a decade. According to a new survey on home delivery trends from Alex Partners. Most major product categories are experiencing significant declines in consumer buying, with groceries one of the only exceptions right there. Carl Quintanilla also posts that we've been talking about this, that the US Is having the worst year for measles spread in more than three decades. One thing I want to point out as well is that if you look at all of the other data that's out there from all, all of these third party sources, pretty much other than the White House, these are all recessionary data out there. You go even to tourism sectors, right? You go into construction, you go into what I reported last week, the ADP private payroll data, but somehow the White House data, right after they fired all the civil servants and the Experts, they show 147,000 jobs being created, not in the private sector, but in the government sector. When they said Doge was cutting government jobs. Hmm, that's, that's quite, quite interesting right there, you know, and the data and the people who are out there from the Trump regime spewing this nonsense are people like this Peter Navarro. So Peter Navarro, one of Donald Trump's top advisors, was on Fox this morning and he was asked, you know, so are we going to get clarity for the business community about what's going on or countries know what the tariff rates are? Are we going to get clarity? And Navarro goes, what are you talking about? We have clarity. Everybody's clear what the tariffs are. Everybody knows Trump is sending letters. And if there's a deficit, that's a, that's a tariff. If there's a. Notice what he says about trade deficits, because this is what underlies Trump's entire disastrous trade war, this idea that if there is a deficit with another country, that they are somehow exploiting us and taking advantage and screwing us. When the United States was the richest country in the world, it fundamentally doesn't understand the most basic economic principles. But here, play this clip. Do you think we are going to get clarity, say, by the end of the summer in terms of what countries are paying what price, what the tariffs look like, because the uncertainty of it, he believes, and others do as well, is what's keeping some businesses from investing today.
Political Analyst
Well, if I were a market analyst instead of working at the White House, it would be very simple for me to have clarity on all this. I would simply look at all the different countries. I'd look at the size of the trade deficit that the US Runs with those countries, and I would able to be very easily calibrate where the optimal tariff would likely land, given President Trump's insistence that we have a level playing field and that we reduce or eliminate our trade deficit for national security reasons. So I think that there's, there's tremendous clarity right now. The president has been very clear about what the goal is, is, and how he's going to get there. There's, there's been, we had the initial reciprocal tariffs. We rolled back to give folks time, and now letters have gone out which calibrate more. So I think there's plenty of clarity.

Did you hear what he said right there? I mean, if you think about it, it's like we're attacking Japan, right, right now. And Trump continues to go after Japan. Japan, they're the biggest employer of any foreign country of Americans. They hold the most treasury bonds of any foreign country. Like, by far, they're the biggest investor in America from any foreign country. You know, so you look at Canada, Canada's a close second in a lot of those categories as well. I mean, you go to Europe, I mean, you go elsewhere, you look at who's the United States going after. And it's people who help the United States get rich. Not taking advantage. It's a very strange, it's a very strange victimy kind of view. But that's what MAGA is all about. Hey, parents, we all know getting a good sleep can feel impossible when you have a newborn. That's where happiest baby comes in. And it's been a lifesaver for me. Founded by world renowned pediatrician Dr. Harvey Karp, they've created smart sleep solutions that help families get the rest they desperately need. Starting with snoo. SNHU Smart Sleeper is a responsive bassinet that uses gentle rocking and white noise to soothe babies to sleep. It can add one to two hours of extra rest each night and automatically responds when babies fuss. So you can stay asleep, too. Very important for me, it's the only bassinet that's FDA de novo authorized to keep sleeping babies safely on their backs. It's trusted in over 180 hospitals. And now companies like JPMorgan Chase, Google, Red Bull, Activision Blizzard, Yeti Barstool Sports, Rare Beauty and others are offering free snu rentals as a benefit for their employees to help new parents get more rest. Want your company to give you a free SNOO? Head to happiestbaby.com referral to refer your employer. You could also be eligible for up to $10,000 if they join the program. Or head to happiestbaby.com Midas and use the code MIDAS to get 20% off SNOO and other smart sleep solutions like their award winning Sleepia swaddle and the Snoopy Smart White noise machine today because every family deserves better sleep. And for me, I can tell you it's been a lifesaver for me and my wife. So go ahead there. Happiestbaby.com Midas you know, and it's all about excuses with them. And let me just show you what went down this morning as well, because it was telling me so the mayor of Kerrville, which was subject to those catastrophic floods in, in the flash floods from the Guadalupe River. So they were holding a press conference. And one of the things that I note is that you would normally see here, the head of FEMA right there or you would see one of, you know, you know, the feds right there because on their own you're gonna see like them. I'll show you what the mayor of Kerrville was doing, right? And as Aaron Rupert says, the Kerrville mayor seemed like a real peach. Like, this is why you need the feds to be involved in things like this because there's a certain things that localities can't do are incapable of. And this is just offensive as can be. But watch the mayor of Kerrville from this morning play this clip.
Kerr County Mayor
I'm married to a retired first grade teacher and I learned a little bit about classroom management from her. If you yell questions at us, we're probably going to pick someone else to answer. Okay. So you feel the need to yell your questions. I will feel the need to not answer your question. In first grade, they raise their hands. That might be a good start. Yesterday was a disaster and I was embarrassed. Our town wasn't embarrassed. Your viewers were embarrassed. And I don't want that to happen again.
Progressive Insurance Spokesperson
Okay. You want to see the Kerr county sheriff? It don't get much better. And this is what happened. Look, I'm not making excuses for these people. I mean, this is some, you know, what I'm watching here is the height of incompetence. But this is why you need the feds to come in and be helpful in situations and take a leadership role. It's a major issue here. Play this clip.
Kerr County Sheriff
I'm ernie Zuniga with KSAT12 San Antonio. Question for the sheriff. The code red alert system has come under a lot of scrutiny in recent days. And now there's reports of a timeline on on Friday morning where an Ingram Volunteer Fire Department commander asked a Kerr county sheriff dispatcher for the Code Red to be issued. The dispatcher says, I can't. I have to get a supervisor's approval for that. Almost six hours passes until 10 o' clock when 1004, when the code Red is issued. How do you account for that lapse of time? What happened and what could have happened in that time?
Political Analyst
As I've said earlier, with every significant.
Progressive Insurance Spokesperson
Event, you know, we're going, with every.
Political Analyst
Emergency, you know we're going to have.
Progressive Insurance Spokesperson
To, there's going to be an after action.
Political Analyst
Please, y' all, listen those words, after action.
Progressive Insurance Spokesperson
Okay? That was the Kerr county sheriff right there. And then I showed you this clip in the 7am Eastern, 4am Pacific video that I did of the, of the Texas governor Abbott. And he's out there basically saying, you know, you know, stop blaming people. You know, in football, you don't blame people. This is like football. We're winners. In Texas, we're winners. We don't like losers. Stop criticizing our response and the fed's response. We're football players. The football players. What the hell are you talking about? Here, play this clip.
Texas Governor
Second party question needs to be addressed. You ask, I'm going to use your words. Who's to blame? Know this. That's the word choice of losers. Let me explain one thing about Texas, and that is Texas. Every square inch of our state cares about football. You could be in Hunt, Texas, Huntsville, Texas, Houston, Texas. Any size community, they care about football, high school, Friday Night Lights, college football or pro. And know this, every football team makes mistakes. The losing teams are the ones that try to point out who's to blame. The championship teams are the ones that say, don't worry about it, man, we got this. We're going to make sure that we go score again, that we're going to win this game. The way winners talk is not to point fingers. They talk about solutions.
Progressive Insurance Spokesperson
Your football players. What does it even mean? Look, as I mentioned before, there were six major vacancies at the National Weather Service and key federal positions that would have been assigned to this Kerr County Area, including the main meteorologist coordinator, the local officials, you heard from some of them there, they claim that they didn't get the notifications from the feds. The feds say that those local officials are basically the ones who should be leading everything. When we know what should have happened in a situation like this is that you see the storms coming. The feds have regional managers and people in place. They are working together, making sure everybody gets the notifications, that resources are pre positioned that a recovery effort is ready right away and you kick into high gear. You know, you know, Donald Trump was golfing all weekend. He was like licking ice cream cones. It was really gross. And in a situation, just in a normal situation, I don't care whether you're Democrat, Republican, the president would be in the situation room or a war room or something, surrounded by everybody, coordinating every single aspect of this. Finally, let me show you Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries calling for Pete Hegseth to resign. Democratic leader Jeffries, like, like I, you know, are calling for Hegseth to resign. Big. According to Trump. Trump said that he was not aware that Hegseth ordered that the military weapons not be sent to Ukraine. All right, so either Trump is lying and Trump knew about it, which I'm sure is probably also true. But if Hexith on his own, stop military weapons that were supposed to go to Ukraine without telling anybody, of course you fire him. If you don't fire him, then you accept and you embrace and you ratify that conduct, which is patently unlawful and crazy. Play this clip. What do you think? What does this say about the relationship between President Trump and the Defense Secretary?
Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries
Pete Hegseth is the most unqualified defense secretary in American history. He undermines the ability of the Department of Defense to keep the American people safe and Donald Trump should fire him or Pete Hegseth should tender his resignation. That's been clear and apparent for months. And it's shocking to me that this charade continues to go on. Ukraine is an ally. Russia is a sworn enemy of the United States of America. And when you limit Ukraine's ability to be successful in the war of aggression that Russia has launched against a sovereign country, you undermine America's national security interests. And that's highly problematic.

The MeidasTouch Podcast Summary Episode: "Trump Panics on Wednesday as He Can’t Stop His Crash" Release Date: July 10, 2025
In this episode of The MeidasTouch Podcast, hosts Ben, Brett, and Jordy Meiselas dive deep into the tumultuous actions and statements of former President Donald Trump. The episode, titled "Trump Panics on Wednesday as He Can’t Stop His Crash," provides a comprehensive analysis of Trump’s recent behavior, its impact on the U.S. economy, international trade relations, and the reactions from various political figures and analysts.
The episode begins with a detailed account of Donald Trump’s recent social media activity, characterized by aggressive and unfiltered statements.
Progressive Insurance Spokesperson ([02:28]) remarks:
“Donald Trump, ranting and raving like a lunatic and panicking in public on his social media platform like a deranged third grader.”
Trump's latest tweets include attacks on former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and assertions about reducing costs more than any previous president. He criticizes the Democrats extensively, emphasizing his claims with capitalization for effect.
Trump’s aggressive stance on tariffs and trade deficits is a central theme in the discussion.
Progressive Insurance Spokesperson ([03:28]) states:
“Trump's trade war and the tariff policies are contributing to the widespread... pullback in the online sales category growth in over a decade.”
The hosts elaborate on how Trump’s tariff policies on countries like Brunei, the Philippines, Moldova, Algeria, Iraq, and Libya have disrupted e-commerce, leading to a significant slowdown in online shopping and affecting major sales events like Amazon Prime Day.
The podcast features insights from a Political Analyst who debates the clarity and effectiveness of Trump's trade policies.
Political Analyst ([11:34]) explains:
“If I were a market analyst instead of working at the White House, it would be very simple for me to have clarity on all this... President Trump's insistence that we have a level playing field and that we reduce or eliminate our trade deficit for national security reasons.”
Despite the analyst’s claims of clarity, the episode highlights the confusion and economic instability resulting from Trump's unpredictable policies.
The episode transitions to examining local government responses to emergencies, using Kerr County as a case study.
Kerr County Mayor ([15:44]) critiques:
“Yesterday was a disaster and I was embarrassed. Our town wasn't embarrassed. Your viewers were embarrassed. And I don't want that to happen again.”
Kerr County Sheriff ([16:48]) further illustrates delays in emergency response:
“Almost six hours passes until 10 o'clock when 1004, when the code Red is issued. How do you account for that lapse of time?”
The hosts argue that the incompetence at the local level underscores the need for federal intervention, criticizing Trump’s lack of leadership during crises.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s comments are scrutinized, highlighting his analogy between football and governance.
Texas Governor ([18:13]) asserts:
“We're winners. We don't like losers. [...] The championship teams are the ones that say, don't worry about it, man, we got this.”
The hosts interpret this as an attempt to deflect criticism and avoid accountability, reinforcing their stance on ineffective leadership.
The episode features a powerful critique from Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries regarding Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
Hakeem Jeffries ([21:09]) declares:
“Pete Hegseth is the most unqualified defense secretary in American history. He undermines the ability of the Department of Defense to keep the American people safe... Ukraine is an ally. Russia is a sworn enemy...”
Jeffries emphasizes the detrimental impact of flawed defense leadership on national security and international alliances, particularly concerning the Ukraine conflict.
The episode wraps up with a reinforcement of the central theme: Donald Trump’s erratic behavior and policies are causing significant instability both domestically and internationally. The hosts urge listeners to critically evaluate the ongoing political maneuvers and their far-reaching consequences.
Progressive Insurance Spokesperson ([21:55]) concludes:
“Very strong words. Very strong words. I should just say Trump says, there you have it, folks. Let me know what you think.”
The hosts encourage audience engagement and highlight the importance of truth and accountability in leadership.
This episode of The MeidasTouch Podcast offers a critical examination of Donald Trump’s influence on current political and economic landscapes, providing listeners with insightful analysis and diverse perspectives on pressing national issues.
