Today I'm going to be talking about seven simple steps to achieve any goal that you set for yourself. As this is coming out right now, we are now in Q2 of the year. So how's this year going for you? Are you crushing your goals or like 90% of people, did you already give up on your goals? Well, I want to cover this and I love to do this episode or something around this once to, sometimes twice a year just to constantly remind people what they need to be doing in order to hit their goals. And so this is seven simple steps. And six of these seven steps are going to be Napoleon Hill. And then the last step is actually going to be for me. So let's go ahead and go through it. The first one is to fix your mind on exactly what it is that you want. And so what he means by that is you need to get very, very clear on what it is that you want. I mean like extremely clear. If a 6 year old were to come up to you and say, what is your goal? It needs to be clear enough for a six year old to understand it and then go explain it to another six year old. If that is not possible, then you are not clear enough on what your goals are. And so don't say something like I just want to lose some weight. That's a Shitty goal. I want to lose some weight. Because if you lose one pound, you hit your goal. I want to, I want to make more money. Well, if you make $1 more, you hit your goal. So you need to get very clear. You need to say, hey, I want to lose 20 pounds, I want to weigh 185 pounds, and I want to be at 7% body fat. See the difference of how much more clear that is. So you get really, really clear on exactly what it is that you want. And the reason why is because the more clear that you are on your goals, the more that you can see exactly what you need to do in order to hit them. If your goals are this weird, vague, nebulous thing that exists, you're not going to hit it because you don't even understand it, and nobody else understands it in the universe, doesn't even understand what you're asking for. So you've got to get very clear on what it is that you want first. The second thing that you need to do is you need to determine exactly what you tend to give up in return for what it is that you want to achieve. And this is a really interesting one. It's actually probably my favorite one out of the seven steps is most people think that their life is just going to stay exactly the same and somehow magically, they're just going to be gifted this new goal that they just accomplished out of nowhere. No, in order for your goals to be accomplished, things are going to have to change. You're going to have to give up aspects of yourself, parts of yourself, your old self are going to have to die off. And so you need to give up certain things. So if you want to once again lose weight like we just talked about, you might have to give up eating queso every single time that you go out to restaurants. Ah, shucks. Yeah, it's probably not going to help you out if you're eating queso. You might have to give up drinking beer on the weekends because you go through a 12 pack on Saturday and a 12 pack on Sunday with your friends. Yeah, that's probably not the best for losing weight. You're going to have to, if you want to wake up early, you're going to have to give up staying up late. If you're going to try to be more healthy and maybe run a marathon, you might have to give up alcohol for six months. You have to give something up. Whenever you're saying yes to something, you're saying no to something else. So at this point, you need to determine exactly what you're going to be saying no to and what you're going to give up in your life in order to achieve the goal that you really want to achieve. So that's number two. Number three is to establish a date of when you are going to hit that goal. So you need to figure out the exact date, because a goal without a deadline is just a dream. All too often people are like, I would like to lose £10. No, I'm going to lose £10 by July 1st of this year. Okay, well, now we've got a deadline. And a deadline adds just a little bit more pressure onto yourself. If you think about when you're the most productive at work, it's usually the couple days right before you leave for vacation because you're like, I got to get it done. Or you're the most productive whenever you know that you've got a presentation that you've got to get done. So when you have a deadline that you have to hit, there's no going back. That's usually when you're more likely to get it done. So that's number three is to establish the date. Number four is to write out a clear and definite plan for how you're going to do it and then start immediately. So don't say, I'll start next week, don't say, I'll start next month. Say, this is exactly what I'm going to do, this is when I'm going to do it, and this is exactly how I'm going to do it. All too often, people don't know how to create the plan for what it is that they want to achieve. And the reason why is because they never really got on number one, really clear on exactly what it is that they want. And so once you get clear, once you figure out what you intend to give up, once you figure out the date that you're going to hit it by, well, then, now you need to sit down with a pen and paper and actually write out the plan of what it's going to look like to get you there, I'll give you a secret tip. If it's hard for you to figure out the plan, you can try this thing that I like to do sometimes when it's really hard or maybe I don't believe in myself, or I'm like, I can't really wrap my head around it. And I like to call this thing future pacing. And so basically what it is, is now that I know the date that I want to hit it by. So let's say that you know, I remember one time I wanted to have an event with 100 people at the event. And I was like, I don't know if I can do that. And I was like, I don't know what the plans are to get there. So I said, okay, I want to do it by July 31st of this year. And so I said to myself, today. And I started journaling it out. Today is August of this year. I just had 100 people at my event. And here's what I did to make that happen. And I started journaling as if I had just got it done and I was in the future and I just started letting myself be creative. So therefore, the plan doesn't feel like, oh, I've got to create, create a perfect plan. It's like I'm just journaling as my future self, telling myself exactly what I did to get there. And so you can throw yourself into the future to help yourself create a plan if you're one of the people who kind of struggles with creating plans. Okay, so that's number four. Number five is to write a clear and concise statement. And what you do is you summarize number one, number two, number three, and number four and you summarize them into a clear, concise statement. And you want to think of clearance concise this way. Same way that I said just a few minutes ago, you're going to explain it to a six year old, they're going to go say to another six year old and the other six year old is going to go, oh, okay, I get it. That's the way that you want it to be, clear and concise. Because sometimes you might be one of these people and if you are, you're probably going to laugh at yourself or you know somebody who's like this where it's just like, hey dude, can you get to the point? Like stop beating around the bush. Like, just tell me what it is that you need to tell me. If you're one of those types of people, you might want to create an entire 12 page mission statement on how you're going to hit your goal. No, no, no. Clear and concise. What I mean by that is less than 10, but preferably less than five sentences that says exactly what you're going to do that summarizes number one, two, three and four. Okay, and then number six is you're going to read your written statement out loud two times a day. Now you might be saying to yourself, that's kind of weird, like I'm going to read it out loud. To myself like, what if. What if my husband walks by and sees me? What if my roommates are like, what are you doing, kook? You're all kinds of crazy. No, no, no. You're going to read out loud to yourself. If you are afraid of your roommates, go say it into your closet by yourself where they can't hear you. I don't care what it is, but you're going to read it out loud to yourself. One of the reasons why so many people don't hit their goals is because they simply just forget about them. They get busy, they go back into their daily life, and then the end of the year they're like, what was my New Year's resolution again? Oh, yeah, that's right, man, I forgot about it. So you're going to read it out loud to yourself every single morning and every single evening. There's one really two really magical reasons why you're going to do this. The reason why you read it out loud to yourself in the morning as soon as you wake up is because that is when your brain is just coming out of and still kind of in what's called theta state. And we will be right back. Theta state is what children are usually in as far as their brainwaves go. It's the most easily programmable state that your brain waves can be in. And also at the same time, it's what people go into when they're in hypnosis. And so if you wake up in the morning, you're still kind of in theta state. And you sit up and you read this out loud to yourself, you're kind of bypassing the subconscious mind and that, the filter of the subconscious mind, I guess you could say. And you're going straight in. You're implementing the ideas in what you're trying to create into your subconscious. That's the reason why it's important to do in the morning and the reason why it's important to do in the evening is because when you go to sleep, your conscious mind clicks off, your subconscious mind clicks on. And so if you have ever noticed that sometimes you'll think about something or you see something on the Internet right before you go to bed, and then you dream about it. Well, the reason why is because you were just programming your brain right before bed, which is why I always say, stay off of the news, stay off of the Internet, stay off of Instagram, any of those things right before bed. Right before bed is your moment to program your brain. And so what happens is if you go in and you say, this is what I'm gonna do, this is how I'm Gonna do it. This is what I intend to give up. This is what I'm gonna do it by. Imagine if you start dreaming about it, you start seeing it, and new ideas come into your head and you get more excited about it. And so you're going to read it out loud to yourself once in the morning, once in the evening. So those are the six that come from Think and Grow Rich from Napoleon Hill. And number seven. What I want you to do is I want you to ask yourself this one question, very simple. How can I make it easier on myself? How can I make it easier on myself? Because all too often we think that we need to struggle our way to success. What I have found is that if I ask myself this question, instead of looking through the lens of this needs to be hard, I start looking through the lens of how can I make this easier? How can I make this more effortless? And so that's what we really want to do, is how can I make success feel more simple? And so those are the seven steps. Okay, so let me give you a couple of examples of what this could look like. Let's say that you want to lose some weight. Let's say you want to lose 20 pounds. So you say, I want to lose 20 pounds, which means I will be 185 pounds by December 31st of this year. And I want to be at 10% body fat. I intend to give up candy and soda and alcohol for the rest of the year. Also, I'm going to work out four times a week, and I'm going to meal prep every single Sunday and every single Thursday. That is going to be your plan. Clear, concise. You read it to yourself every single morning, every single evening. Let's say that you're in sales. Let me give you a sales example. Let's say you want to make $250,000 this year. So you're going to say I'm going to make $250,000 this year by December 31st this year. I will give up texting and social media while I'm at work talking too much to co workers, and I'm going to be extremely focused when I get there. I will make 100 new calls every single day, no matter what. If I get hit by a truck, I'm still going to do it. And I'm going to follow up with all potential clients every Single Friday from 3 to 5pm Boom. Sounds good. Let's say that you just man, you've been stressed out a lot. Like, you've just been stressed most of your life. You're anxious. You want to feel more peace in your life, right? So maybe peace is your example. So you're going to say, I will no longer have anxiety by November 1st of this year. In order to do that, I'm going to give up all forms of caffeine that make me anxious. I will no longer drink any tea that has caffeine in it. I will no longer drink coffee anymore. I'm going to give up all relationships in my life that bring me stress. I'm also going to make sure that I meditate for 10 minutes every single morning. And I use my gratitude journal every single morning after I get done meditating so that I can focus my perspective on what is it I'm grateful for. Also, I'm going to set reminders in my phone for every three hours to take six deep conscious breaths every few hours. And then I will replace every negative thought that I have with a positive thought whenever they pop up. And this is what's really going to start to help you, is if you get clear. You say what you're going to give up, when you're going to hit it by. You give yourself the exact plan, and you have this clear and concise statement. You're. When you're reading it out loud yourself every single morning, every single evening, the first couple of days, it's like, okay, yeah, whatever. But by month two, month three, month five, you're really starting to brainwash yourself into actually believing that your success is possible. And of course, you can't have success if you're not willing to get out of your comfort zone, if you're not willing to take action. But you start to think to yourself, this actually might be possible. Which is one of the biggest things that holds people back, is we create goals and we're like, I don't know if it's possible, but when you follow these seven steps and you are very diligent about being as clear as possible, following it step by step, making a clear and concise statement, and committing to saying it to yourself every single morning and every single evening, you are going to see massive shifts in your life. So that is the seven steps on how to plan and achieve any goal that you want. I have never seen anything that is easier or more successful for setting and planning and achieving your goals. So with that, I'm going to leave you the same way I leave you every single episode. Make it your mission to make somebody else's day better. I appreciate you and I hope that you have an amazing day now.
