
Between 1970 and 2010, car have made massive leaps in safety and fatalities dropped drastically over this time. By 2014 we reached the lowest fatality rate in 95 years....but the rates are now going up. Why is this? Are car safety ratings really what makes a car "safe"? If so, why are some of the cars with the highest fatality rates "top picks" by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety? We surveyed thousands of people over the past 20 years and found that after "reliability" their next most important consideration is "safety". This is what we are exploring in our second episode.
