On this SPECIAL EDITION of The Movie Podcast, we welcome back Anna Sawai to delve into her new FX television series SHŌGUN. Following our discussion with Anna, we are also joined by Costume Designer Carlos Rosario, who shares insights into the intricate process of bringing the series to life through wardrobe. Set in Japan in the year 1600 at the dawn of a century-defining civil war, the series is an original adaptation of James Clavell’s 1975 novel from creators Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks. Shōgun premieres with two episodes on Disney+ in Canada and on Hulu, and FX in the United States February 27, 2024, followed by new episodes weekly.
