Toad. Dev, I don't mean to laugh at this because it's really serious and it's really ugly allegations here. And there are more than one and they seem pretty credible to me. And this is Hollywood doing what Hollywood does, the worst, some might say the best, which is just bury their heads in the sand. They knew. They knew many, many Times that stuff was changing in Hollywood. They knew streaming was coming. They did nothing. They knew talkies were coming. What, in the 20s, they did nothing. Hollywood is very, very slow at changing. And let me tell you why. Because it's a fantastic place if you're part of that system. And so they often protect one another. They rally around. And this is a really ugly, ugly example of them once again rallying around a cause, a person, a situation that anybody else would just take a moment, would take a pause, would want to say, let me get all the facts, would try and figure that this one out. You recently did a really great column in the Daily Mail about shutting your mouth until you know all the facts. And I think that Hollywood has led the way of blurting out a reaction and not actually sitting down and thinking about this and taking a moment, take a pause. This is a moment for that family to reflect, to get to the bottom of this, to have a lot of explanation. They've got a lot of explaining to do. But no, instead we hear about masturbation in the shower and how he is the center of her world, as if she is the center of this case. It has nothing to do with you, Melissa. It has nothing to do with your world, with how he makes you feel. It's, did he feel other people?

You know, Rob, you've said so many really interesting, smart things right here, and I wanna break it apart and talk about several of them. One is, what is the possible thinking that Timothy Busfield thinks that this disclosure, I believe, unprompted. I don't believe the court ever asks, like, give me your sexual practices this early on in a case, let alone, you know, that would be something I think would come up on cross, if anything. But he's submitting his sexual practices in which he's basically saying, I don't enjoy having sex with my adult wife. And you know what I prefer to do? I prefer to jerk off in the shower. And you know what? I haven't really even done that in six months. I mean, I think that opens more questions than it answers. Yeah, you don't like having sex with your adult wife who just issued a statement in which she said, you're the sun, moon and stars.

Rob Shooter (8:20)

It's a crazy statement. It's a tone deaf statement what he thinks he's doing here. And I hope his legal counsel did not agree with him, although I've got to predict that they do because he did write this letter and he did issue it. What he's trying to do is paint a narrative that Just like Michael Jackson. He's not a sexual person. Sex is bonds. He's not that guy that's always hard and ready to jump. He's not sexual energy. He's just that mellow type of guy who's like Peter Pan. And he just, he doesn't enjoy really sex with anybody. He'd rather have sex with himself and masturbate. And he doesn't even really enjoy that anymore, Maureen, because he's not a sexual person. That's what he's trying to do.

You are so right. You are so right. And it sort of jibes now if like this is the mentality that we're working with, with a Timothy Busfield, with that video he gave to TMZ from the grim balcony, no doubt some Holiday Inn Express in Albuquerque. Hey everyone, it's your friendly neighborhood Tim. I'm not a child molester or what's commonly referred to behind bars is a chobo. Not me, I'm just a director. And hang in there, cuz. I'll be getting back right soon to create some more mediocre shit nobody watches. I mean, you would think that this was, you know, again, like, not that the level of artistry really should have anything to do with it, but with a, with a Michael Jackson, as you mentioned, you know, there was a real resistance in the culture to believe that that could posit possibly be true because of what a singular talent he was. And so what he gave to the culture, it was almost unthinkable. But with the Timothy Busfield, it's like the guy's got a history of accusations. And there was a third bombshell filing on Wednesday. And in the wake of this, what do we see? We see his Hollywood friends coming, coming to the fore with full throated defenses of him. And by the way, these are his. This does not bode well either to me because these are his colleagues, his co stars from Freaking 30 Something, which was a hit in the 1980s. People haven't heard, like today's generation has no idea who like Patricia Wedig is or who Peter Horton is. And they're coming forward. Peter Horton. And we're going to get to another major effing offender in this space. Like similar, similar testimonials for a sex offender, a violent sex offender. You know, Peter Horton comes forward and in some substance says, I would trust him around my daughter or my daughter. You know, I'm a father and I would trust him. Really? Would you? Because if you would, I don't trust your testimonial. I think your judgment's out of whack.

Rob Shooter (11:14)

Yeah. These comments, I've been reading them. Like you, Maureen, they are at best worthless. They don't. They certainly don't help. They potentially could hurt. The only. The only statements that are valid at the moment are people that have worked with him on the sets where he's been accused of this outrageous, disgusting behavior. Where are the actors on that set? They're not defending him. Where are the crew on that set? They're not saying anything. Just because I worked with you 30, 40 years ago, you don't know what I was up to six months ago, six years ago. So I think that all this stuff is. It's just noise. They're not particularly big names. It's not like Angelina Jolie has issued a statement and the whole world are going to pause. I fear here that his friends are not really trying to help him. But my experience of Hollywood, they're trying to help themselves. They're so desperate to get back in the spotlight, and they think their voice is so important that they have to issue a statement. No, you don't. You don't. In the same way, we're guilty of this, too. Whenever a celebrity dies, everybody on Facebook has to put a picture up of them and that celebrity that they once met at Barnes and Nobles or at Starbucks. You don't know them. You had a picture with them once. I think these statements that you. You read out, Maureen, are all just. They're just white noise. They're just a red herring. They're not going to help him. They're not going to hurt him, but they are just getting in the way.

Maureen Callahan (12:45)

You know, you're so right about the. The celebrity tragedy. Vulture. It makes me think of Carol Radziwill, who did not know Tatiana Schlossberg, the daughter of Caroline Kennedy, who just died tragically at age 35 of leukemia she runs to Instagram. Though I hadn't seen Tatiana in quite some time, it reminded me of my, you know, fuck off. It's so disgusting. And you're so right. And this is what. This is the rot at the heart of Hollywood. And again, if Hollywood wonders why it's dying, there is no crime alleged too vile. And that includes the sexual molestation of minor children, who, according to their therapist and pediatrician, are suffering from PTSD years later because of what this guy allegedly did to them. And nothing's too vile. I'm just gonna come forward because now my name's in the media again. Oh, the guy I knew never could have done that if I knew Anybody who was credibly accused of something like that, you can best be assured I would be keeping my fuck distance. I would not want my name anywhere near that shit.

I wish they would listen to you. This is the rot. This is the rot of Hollywood. And this is the same. Same industry that when a politician or somebody that they don't like.

Again, we're apolitical at the nerve, but, like, if Hollywood's gonna get political, you can get political about that, but you can't interject on, like, the very human. There is a right and a wrong here. There's a fucking gray area here. Are you a child abuser or not? Anyway. Okay, I'll bring it down now, Rob, something a little bit lighter. Another offender who I was dying to talk to you about because you and I are both obsessed with the comings and goings and the. This is a Sisyphean task Hoda Kapi's got going on for herself. She's trying to get this Joy 101 thing off the ground, and she cannot effing do it. And it's been a year since she left the Today show, and what does she do on January 15, according to Yahoo, and we all saw it on Instagram, at least those of us who pay attention for a living. Hoda Kapi announces star studded. Depends on your definition of star. New talk show. It's called Hoda's Joy Ride, and we're going to take a little. A little look at the promo. And I got to tell you, Rob, I find the work Savannah Guthrie's doing here to be top level. This is not passive aggressiveness. This is aggressive aggression. Here we go. I'm on a bike. I'm ready for a joy ride. I'm at a great park in Brooklyn and I just need someone to ride with. Hi, Neville. Stacy London. Come on, Stace. All right, I'm coming. You got it. Let's go. Stacy London, Why are you here? Why did I pick you up at the crack of dawn to drive you to work. Well, I'm glad you did, but why? Because, A, I love you, B, this is a little joy ride. Okay, well, if you're in the car, it's joy. I gotta tell you, normally at this hour, joy is the scarce supply. Do you Feel like you're where you're supposed to be. What was something palatable thing you've ever. Back to Stacy London. And the main question, okay, we can stop right here. We can stop right here. But basically my favorite thing about that, Rob. And then you take it because you have deep tentacles. Over at 30 Rock, she's in the back of Savannah's chauffeured SUV. It's clearly like 4 in the morning. Savannah's on the way to work, and she's basically like, why are you in my car? Why are you here? And Hoda is like, I'm just dispensing joy. And it's a Hoda joy ride. And Savannah's like, yeah, well, typically at this hour, joy is in short supply. And the thing that really struck me here is that Savannah was so clearly strong armed into doing this. He told her bosses at NBC, I'm off the clock as soon as I'm done with today. I'm not giving Hoda any of my free time. On the clock, on my paycheck, on my time. She can get in the car. What is happening, Rob?

Rob Shooter (16:57)

So, right. I never thought about that. She's literally like, well, I've gotta get to work and I've gotta get in the car. So I'll just get it over with while I'm in the car. And I've gotta sort of do this. And they've sort of set themselves up for this by always insisting that they're just such a happy family. Yes, we're the first family of television. They had this problem with Megyn Kelly. Remember when Megyn was on the Today show and they were all one big happy family? And then suddenly the families just stopped speaking, no explanation. And so the same with Matt Lauer. When Matt was on the show, he was just the leader of this. This family. And then the minute there was a smell, they ran away.

Maureen Callahan (17:36)

Not to compare at all what Matt Lauer was accused of. Megyn Kelly, they were just looking for a reason to cut her loose. That was exactly.

Rob Shooter (17:43)

I conflate them. So I think here, this is the problem that they've always set up. That Hoda, while she was on that show, was just this family member was a right wacky aunt. Oh, she's so funny. She's Egyptian. We just love her.

But then I forgot the Egyptian part. You're so right.

So cool. We're just down with everybody here. We love everybody. And so the minute she left, they cut you off. And this is not like any other job, except in our jobs, we don't pretend to be this, anyone that's left a job. You move on. You meet new people, you meet new colleagues. You don't turn up at all 3:30 in the morning outside their house and jump in the back of their car. It's wildly creepy. And it's actually interesting to me that somebody like Herta, who I thought had a better, a better sense of television than she does, she should never do this. To get in anyone's car at 4 in the morning, it's really creepy. It's just if somebody got into my Uber, even if I knew them at 3:30 in the morning, what are you doing here? It's all black outside. It's all dark. It's very creepy. It looks like a Dateline special which Hoda used to host. It looks like she's about to kill Savannah. It looks so creepy. So I'm shocked she did it. What I'm told here from my sources is that Hoda is really desperate for that next big thing and I think she's already regretting leaving the Today show. The Today show is an institution. It is a well oiled machine. It has some of the greatest producers, editors over there at NBC making you look really good. In fact, there's a lot of people, people who have been through the Today show who are not terribly talented but.

If you don't work on the show, you can't hire the Today show team to make you look good. I can't hire the Today show people to produce my podcast. And so Hoda is now trying to swim without all these lifeguards around her. And I think the decisions she's making are really bad. I'm told that she was a huge fan of carpool karaoke, so this is her version of that.

Huge fan of carpool. And she also was very intrigued by Jerry Seinfeld. Had a coffee in car.

Comedians getting cars and coffee. Oh my God. Even the concept isn't original. She's ripping them off. The difference being James Corden has wit. You know, the difference being Jerry Seinfeld is a comedian, funny, smart guy and you would watch him rolling around with these celebrities. And the. The concept was, was very particular. Hoda is carjacking her former colleague at 3:34 in the morning. And by the way, we. We in New York City, and this is where the Today show is right now. It is a brutally cold winter. It is. I don't care. You hear it from Savannah's voice herself. She says it's. I'm never happy in the back of this cart for it doesn't matter how many years you do it. Every single morning is a struggle to pull yourself out of bed.

Rob Shooter (21:09)

Yeah, everyone that I know, I had my own morning show for three, four years on VH1. And we used to have a car pick us up at like 5am it was always a struggle. In the winter, it was particularly bad. We also know, too, that Savannah's had vocal surgery and she's not been on the show since Christmas. So Hoda taped this a while ago, so this isn't even new. So even though she's presenting it as this new show, this has been in the can for a while because Savannah just can't speak. She's not been on the show. She had vocal surgery. So we know the timing's a little off. We know the concept's a little off. And the thing is, I. I would ask Hoda, is that I understand when you get in a car with Jerry Seinfeld, the concept's very clear. It's comedy.

Maureen Callahan (21:49)

When you get in a car with James Corden, you sing, you get in the car and you sing. Once I get in the car holder, what am I doing for six minutes? What? What is it? And she would argue. She would say, you're bringing us joy, Rob. And I'd say, how the hell am I doing that? Like, it's such an odd skill. You can sing, you can tell jokes. Joy is this very ethereal concept. It's something that I'm not quite sure I understand. It's like when you meet a happiness expert. What does that mean? What is that? Hoda hasn't yet figured this out. And until she does, I think she's going to be really struggling.

Maureen Callahan (22:29)

She is really struggling. And before we move on to our final celeb segment. Segment. Uh, it's. It's very interesting what you just said there. Savannah has been out because she's had surgery on her vocal cords. Did they ask Hodas to. To step in? No. Jenna's named new co co host on Jenna and Friends to replace Hoda Chanel. The Charisma void that Chanel, she's been out with, you know, family, you know, her husband just died and was, was Hoda asked to step back in even for a day? Not really. They want to see the back of her permanently. And she is a stage five Claire. She will not go. And it's, it's amazing to me that the lack of like that she cannot see how humiliating this is for her. She is humiliating herself.

Rob Shooter (23:20)

She can't see it. We make mistakes. People make mistakes. Leaving that show was a huge, huge mistake for Hoda and her arrogance thought that the fan base would go with her and that the truth of this is that the star of the Today show is the Today show.

Maureen Callahan (23:38)

Exactly. Moving on to our final story. The the latest in the Nicole Kidman Keith Urban divorce, which, you know, happened like yesterday. You know, the ink is dry on the settlement, the custody deal. Per The Daily Mail. January 17th. I believe this is an exclusive. Nicole Kidman's subtle but devastating digs at Keith Urban revealed as insiders claim country star has moved in with new squeeze. This woman looks like she is 25. Her name, she's like, she's an up and coming country star called Carly Scott Collins. Representatives for her in Urban did not respond to requests for comment. Which those of us who do what you and I do for a living, Rob, take as a non denial denial and otherwise known as yeah, that's fucking true, but we're just not willing to say so yet.

Rob Shooter (24:34)

In my PR days when you'd call me and the story was true, I would ignore it. You only have a no when it's a no and you only have a yes when it's a yes when it's true and you don't want to say anything. You just ignore those calls. So that was a tell there we should point out too, I think maybe just legally she has taken to Instagram and she seems to be enjoying this and she didn't say it's not true. She called the whole story ridiculous while posting a photograph of the story where. Which claims that he's living with her. She's an up and coming singer. I spoke to some friends of hers, people that know her from Nashville. She has worked with Keith and she has an album out and she seems to be secretly enjoying all this publicity, all this attention. And so she hasn't quite said no yet. I think she, she took, took to social media to make the story have another and she did that. I'm not sure anybody bought her albums, but this is an amazing story. It's Amazing reporting. I've read it 10 times. I'm really frustrated because within hours of this story breaking, I've got a story that was in schedule to break. It was on my sub stack, but it hadn't. Hadn't gone live yet. I'm told that the kids refused to meet the new girlfriend. So the two daughters know about this woman. Nicole knows about the other woman. They will not meet her. The daughters are Team Nicole here. We've seen them pop up with her at different fashion events. Keeps a dog, keeps a bad boy. I'm told I broke it on your show when they first broke up. I'm told there's been multiple ladies.

Maureen Callahan (26:05)

Oh, I'm sure not quite sure why.

Rob Shooter (26:07)

They haven't come out yet. Maybe somebody's been paid. That's normally the case here. But they will come out here. And the fact that the daughters have dumped their dad, and we know this because of the custody agreement, she gets 90% of the time. I think he only gets 59 days a year. All the other 300 days are going to be with Nicole. The kids don't want to be with him. And there's a reason. And the reason is not drugs, because they knew about that from day one. When they first got married, he was in weeks. So she's known about this all all along. So it wasn't. It wasn't like she suddenly discovered he was a drug addict and left him. There was something new. There was something new to this relationship. I'm told it was other women.

Maureen Callahan (26:48)

I can understand why the daughters would not want to meet this new woman if she's their age. 25. Yeah. She's like seven years older than their oldest daughter. It's disgusting. Keith urban is almost 60 years old. It's disgusting. And the reports are. Rob, I just want to ask lastly, if you've heard anything, anything about this, that Nicole is actively considering a move back to Australia where her sisters are, where her daughters have their cousins, where she has long time. You know, that's her native country. I mean, I know she was born in Hawaii, but that she's like, basically like, why shouldn't I leave? I've got custody of the kids in some substance.

Yeah, yeah, I've heard the same to. Her sister's her closest support. She doesn't have many, many girlfriends. Her family is something she's always relied on. We know her sister flew in from Australia to live in Nashville with her. With her when. When this story.

We do know how close they are. I could see her moving back to to Australia and starting a new life there. She's not going to stay in Nashville for much longer. Although the sentiment in Nashville is pro Nicole, not Keith. He's not just blown up his marriage here and we're going to find this out in the next couple of months. I think he's blew up his career. These country folks don't like this. It's messy, it's untidy and it keeps getting worse. Not only has he potentially been cheating, now he's potentially with a 25 year old. He potentially has moved in with her. This story is going to get worse and worse for Keith. And once the daughters speak and they are 7117 now, once those daughters take to social media or tell their friends, it's all going to come out. Go.

Yeah, maybe Keith should give Brad Pitt a call and see how it goes when you alienate your children. I'm not saying Brad alienated his children, but he's had a similar road to hoe. Thank you Rob. We are back. Now, as discussed, more than one troublemaker emailed and said, maureen, you have got to check out this YouTube channel. It's called Royal Tarot Readings by a woman who goes by Pilot Gal. She's a legit tarot reader. Whether you believe or you don't believe, you know, the people who do it take it very seriously. And Pilot Gal is watching the Nerve. And her most recent poll of the Tarot is dedicated to a question that has loomed over the Nerve and that we've been pushing into the cultural and the cultural bloodstream as well as the media industrial complex. I will not spoil this for you, by the way. If you're watching this, Pilot Gal stays off cam. We just see her hands, the pole, her interpretation of the cards as they are laid out. And sometimes we hear the ambient noise of her dogs. And since she's a dog person, I already love her. Here we go.

If you watch the Nerve with Maureen Callahan, you know that since I think it was like October or November of last year, she put the word out. Where is Stedman? We never see him with Oprah. It's always Oprah and Gail. And apparently the Nerve actually sent Stedman an email to ask him. Hey, are you okay? What's going on? Why don't we see you anymore? Crickets. Dead silence. No response. So Maureen Callahan's opinion and her opinion, allegedly, she thinks he's. He's not alive anymore. He's on the property. Somewhere on Oprah's property. You know, she might be tongue in cheek on this, but sometimes I think she's serious. So it's a big running motif in her show, where's Stedman? So I thought, let's do a fun reading. Let's find out where Stedman. What's going on? Is he alive? What in the world? And once the relationship between Gail and Oprah.

Okay, this is inspired. I love this. Okay, now also, pilot gal, I believe the email, the original email we sent. I mean, Marlena would have to fact check it for me, but I believe we asked point blank, are you still alive? Nothing. Nothing. Okay, so here is the first. The first card poll asking if Stedman is alive. And wait till you see the cards that pilot gal pulls. Here we go.

You know what? I love that multi tiered interpretation. First she says it's a death. Then she says it could be a divorce. Then she says it could be an unstable home. I think it's all three in reverse. An unstable home, a divorce. I mean, they may not have ever been legally married, Oprah and Stedman, but, you know, they've been together long enough. Common law would, I think, prevail. And a death, A death, it could be metaphorical, it could be literal. And again, I just want to say something. Oprah's been out on this media tour as we were. As Marlena and I were discussing on the mini. This entire week, Marlena went to the 92nd Street Y, where Oprah, in the middle of talking to Gail, her. Her smartphone, she has an Apple watch. I think it vibrates. And she goes, oh, my goodness, I'm getting an incoming call. And Gail conveniently says, well, whoever could it be? And Oprah goes, steadman. And then just hangs up. Instead of going, let's hear from Steadman, or instead of Steadman actually sitting front row or being backstage, some kind of proof of life, as discussed. The guy does not have a real job. He's a quote unquote motivational speaker. Okay? Oprah could fly him private direct to spend an hour tops at the 92nd Street Y& show his face to. Why isn't he been seen anywhere with her? Okay, now, pilot gal asks the. The only question that needs to be asked. Is Steadman still alive? Here we go.

Ace of swords in reverse. I have three aces. Whatever the outcome is, this. This is a. No, I have three aces in reverse. Ace of swords in reverse.

A lie.

It's. The center of the situation is there's a lie. His lie story is a lie. Oh, my God. Five of Swords fighting. There was a fight. There was a fight. Nine of pentacles in reverse. Independent woman who's now by herself. Nine of pentacles upright is about a single independent woman, very wealthy, very, very successful. And in reverse, a woman who is very dependent on the situation. Not so successful anymore. Seven of wands. You know, I already have my answer. Defense. Everyone is on the back foot. Everyone is very defensive about the story.

Maureen Callahan (43:56)

And you know, I, I think this, these tarot polls are really onto something because she's right. Pilot Gal is right. Everybody is really defensive about this story. When's the last time you heard Oprah talk so much about Stedman, let alone claim to get a spontaneous call from him during a high profile public appearance? And by the way, Marlena pointed this out to me. Excuse me. The other day, and she's totally right. If Stedman and Oprah were still really that close and dialed into each other, he would know that she was on stage from like 7 to 8pm at the 92nd Street Y and would not be randomly calling her during that appearance. I mean, come on. But they're all, they're all on the back foot, right? I think there's a little bit of panic happening, right? We're going to maintain that Stedman is alive and well and Oprah's number one. It's not Gail, it's Stedman. And. But we're just not allowed to see him. We're just not allowed to see him. Why? I don't know. Now Pilot gal does a second poll just to get some more detail and it gets even better. By which of course I mean it gets worse for Oprah and Gail. She asks the tarot what actually happened the night Stedman disappeared. And here we begin. The cards. Give us an overview. Here we go.

Nine of cups in reverse. Someone was drunk. Someone was overindulging. Someone was drunk. Nine of cups in reverse is about. It can be either overindulgence of alcohol, drugs, even food. It's also about your, your short term hopes and dreams not coming true. The magician. There's the PR and spin. Three of pentacles. Three people. And there's King of Cups. There he is. All right, so someone was drunk. Someone was over indulging. Someone was not. Their dreams were not coming true.

Being put on this. And there were three people. There were three people there. And it had to do with money.

And I love the, the, the car the card that begins with someone was drunk and overindulging. Don't forget, Oprah just told People magazine that she once put away 17 shots of tequila in one night. And as I said at the time, do what doctors do when they ask anyone who comes into their office, hey, how many drinks a week do you have? You know what doctors do? They silently double whatever the self report of any given patient is. So I'm gonna double Oprah's self report and say that Oprah writer's doing math. I'm going to say that Oprah had 34 shots of tequila in one night. Just. Just my supposition. Okay, now Pilot Gal asks for a little bit more detail as to what happened that night. Three people were there. One person was drunk. Okay, here we go.

Are we going to find out what happened to Stedman? Eight of swords being in a trap. Is he. He may be hidden somewhere.

She says he may be hidden somewhere.

In a room, somewhere that is not easily accessible. Oh, my gosh. Look at all this. Holy crap. Pentacles. Three pentacles to three people. Again, there's the eight of swords. Now it's in reverse. King of wands. That's the police.

Oh, my gosh, the police. The police. Will the police get on this? Will the local PD in Montecito and Maui and maybe Chicago execute a wellness check on one Steadman Graham if the FBI hasn't already opened an active investigation? Because I'm going to tell you, there's only so much Teddy Van Halen can do, okay? His legs are like, you know, 2 inches tall, so he can only cover so much surface area in any given day. Will the public ever find out? Our tarot reader known as Pilot Gal asks finally, will the public ever find out what has happened to Stedman? Here we go.

The high priestess in reverse. Well, that's revelation of a secret. I'd say that's a yes.
