Rob Shooter
You make me giggle. I love a day ending with why I'm gonna steal that. And I also now feel that I am officially a troublemaker.
Maureen Callahan
Oh, you so are. When you, when you come to do our. Well, I'll spoil it a little bit. Rob is going to join us for the Globes livestream. We've got to get you hooked up with some nerve merch.
Rob Shooter
Are we dressing up for that? Am I wearing a tuxedo? Is it, is it, is it Oscar night?
Maureen Callahan
I mean, my dog's going to wear a tuxedo, Rob. So, you know, come as you like. Okay, first. First up, we have got to talk Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban. The Daily Mail broke this story on Tuesday. They have made a major. They've reached a major agreement in their. In their divorce settlement. They're going to split the money cleanly. They leave with what they came in with, with what they earned during the marriage. What's most incredible about this, Nicole and Keith have two daughters. They are ages 17 and 15. Nicole will have custody of the girls for 306 days out of the year. That gives Keith 59 days or every other weekend. What does this say to us, Rob?
Rob Shooter
Yeah, this. This is shocking, isn't it? So the money is interesting. I love knowing. Not just with celebrities, but, but my friends. I love when they break up to find out who's gonna get what, who's gonna get the piano, who's gonna get the fine china, that they're going to split everything 50, 50. What's interesting is I don't believe they ever gave up their individual home. So when they said they had a family home together, I don't believe that was the case. She had her properties when she went into the marriage, obviously, Australia being a big place for both of them. But they also had a Nashville home. They have apartments in New York and la. So whoever purchase those apartments is. Is going to get them. And then as far as assets, I think they're going to pretty much split what. What they have or not split it, take away what they brought in. Now, these are two very, very successful people. Both have massive careers. So nobody here needs to pay spousal support or child support. So no surprises there. Also, too, we knew financially this was not going to be too messy because they did it themselves before they sat down with. With the lawyer, they'd already sat down and decided who was going to get what. They did have a prenup too, which always, always helps. But the shocking part of this and the story we're going to be talking about for days is the kids. Who gets the kids? She gets them and she doesn't get 50% of them. My math is not good, but I think that's like 80, 90% of them she gets. Which is remarkable because her children that we never talk about with Tom Cruise, she doesn't see them allegedly at all. But with her biological kids, Mother Bear wants them around her all the time.
Maureen Callahan
You know, it's so interesting. Her children with Tom Cruise, they adopted a son and a daughter. I've read reports over the years that she has extended overtures to those children. Multiple times and letting them know she is there. You know, Scientology, the reports are deemed her a quote, unquote spirit, a suppressive person. She's always, you know, preserved their privacy vis a vis whatever's going on in that dynamic. But to me, this is such. This is almost like, you know, the children are of age practically. And it sounds to me like they said, well, we'd rather be with you. And it says to me that all those reports of Keith Urban humiliating Nicole Kidman on the road all over Nashville with multiple women, reportedly allegedly. You know, the girls know about it, and. And they don't like it.
Rob Shooter
I think you're on to something, Maureen. I hit the phones and spoke to my sources to see what was going on here, and they are not surprised that Keith has agreed to this. And the reason they're not surprised is that Nicole knows everything. I am not implying blackmail here, but I'm saying Keith is treading very, very carefully. He loves those kids. He does. He. He might not have been the greatest husband. In fact, I'm pretty sure he wasn't.
Maureen Callahan
But.
Rob Shooter
But all reports are that he. He. He loves his daughter. So the fact that he's going to agree to this, that he's not going to fight, that tells us something. Why is he not fighting? Some people foolishly argue. He's a musician. He's on the road. He's never home. He's a multimillionaire. He can afford a private play, and he can make this work if he wants to. And let's remember, Nicole has a pretty amazing career, too, so she's. She's pretty busy as well. Keith has enough money he. That he could take two, three years off and. And just stay home with the kids. He's not going to get the kids. He wanted the kids. And I'm told that instead of going for money here, Nicole's priority was getting the children, and she got them.
Maureen Callahan
So when this story first broke, Rob, you and I had multiple conversations about it, and I. I said to you, I think the severity of this and. And with the daughters so clearly siding with Nicole, we saw it at Paris Fashion Week, led me to believe that this. And this is just my supposition, my own theorizing goes beyond mere philandering, which is so common as to be acceptable at celebrity levels, at wealth levels like that. I think he knocked somebody up. That's what I think. That is the only explanation I could see for his young daughters being like, we want nothing to do with you.
Rob Shooter
Yeah. Yeah. I haven't been able to Crack this. You're onto something. There's something really big here. My spider senses. And we've done this a long time, Maureen. This is really odd. This is not how these divorces happen. Unless there is either a big secret or something there that is so deeply humiliating that they have decided to walk away from this. Brad Pier, too, has a lot of skeletons in his closet when it comes to his children. He fought to get his kids. And if Brad's fighting and Keith's not, what is it? What has he done? Or what is it that the kids don't want to be around him? It is interesting. You did point out, Maureen, and you're so sharp at this. Photographs, appearances, they tell you everything. The kids are with their mom. They're not with their dad. They're at the age now. They're not. They're not little kiddies. They're at the age where they could go to Nashville and spend a week with their dad. They could go on the road with their dad. They have chose not to. They are spending time with their mom. We've seen them at fashion events. They are definitely 100% team Nicole on this. I think we're going to probably see them on a red carpet together once again after this divorce is finalized to prove that they are a unit. That's the unit. And my sources tell me that he might have them legally for 59 days, but the kids might want to see him even less.
Maureen Callahan
Well, we will be following this story as it continues to develop. As far as celebrity divorces go, it is a fascinating one. Now, let's talk about a.
Rob Shooter
Can I just have a quick jump in on it? Oh, yes. There's a really lovely story that I've not broke yet, but let's do it here on the Nerve. Nicole. Now, this is a big thing, ladies leaning. Nicole is now wearing her hair natural. I'm told Keith hated her curly hair. So you're going to see lots of photographs of Nicole now finally wearing her hair the way she likes it. Honestly, everybody, boys, girls, ladies, gentlemen, if you have to change your hair to keep your partner, get rid of the partner. So Nicole's back to her natural hair.
Maureen Callahan
Yes, I. It's clearly Keith got custody of the Flatiron. Good for Nicole. Good for Nicole. Okay, now let's talk about Meghan and Harry. A couple I believe will be on the divorce track if soon, if they are not already. They seem to be having so much financial distress. I mean, Netflix is done. Netflix is done. Harry, as we last spoke about, has been giving, you know, Speeches to, like real estate consortiums in Hilton's around America for a few hundred K. Now, according to Radar, a report published December 28, the headline Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, quote, set to charge fortunes for dinner dates after auctioning themselves off for $100,000. So if you have a hundred thousand dollars and you would like nothing more than to spend an evening with these two, they're for sale. They are prostitute adjacent. Rob, have you ever seen anything like this?
Rob Shooter
The grift is real. The grift is real. I know a lot of tacky celebrities. If you buy a real housewife a vodka soda, you can spend the evening with her. But what I find so interesting about this is they pretend to be the opposite. Just lean into who you are now, your reality stars. You should go get a show on Bravo. This is who they are. They should be charging money to open car dealerships and futon stores around the country. Lead into it. This is who they are. And the truth. The truth, Maureen. This is all who they've always been. They've always been this. If you gave Megan a. A gift, a perk, a free dress should turn up at your event. They are now. They've pulled back the band aid, They've pulled back the curtain, and now there's no doubt about who they are. I do like the story, though, that just broke that they might save a little bit of money on security. Now it looks as if the Brits are going to fund their security. And the headlines made me laugh so loud because the headlines are, Harry can finally go back to Britain. The money wasn't stopping him. The security wasn't stopping him. Megan don't want to go. Meghan is never, ever going back. She could have an armored car. We could hire all the guards in the palace. We could have every single military officer in Russia surrounding her. She's not going back. So now what's interesting is, is that if they don't go back this year to see their dad, who is very sick, what's their excuse gonna be? I think they're gonna regret this. They actually enjoy it, not having that security because they could turn up and say, we can't go. We would love to go. We would love to see the king, but we just can't go because we don't feel safe. They've no longer got that excuse.
Maureen Callahan
Such a great example of be careful what you wish for.
Rob Shooter
Be careful what you wish for.
Maureen Callahan
Right?
Rob Shooter
Be careful what you wish for.
Maureen Callahan
And this also, you know. So the headlines over the break about, you know, vis A vis Harry and Meghan were really about them losing two very, very top key people, one of whom, Meredith Mains had been Megan's publicist. But I my theory is that Megan probably welcomed those headlines because they served as a distraction and kept the news cycle moving away from her father with his leg freshly amputated in a hospital in the Philippines and and her carrier pigeons sending a note to her father that said in some in substance, fuck off. I don't really care that your leg got amputated. We're not reconciling.
Rob Shooter
Maureen, your take on the world. I want to have it every single day. Thank goodness for, for the nerve. You're absolutely right. Nobody knows how to change a subject better than a celebrity. Let me give you a funny example. Years ago, about 20 years ago, I was working with Jessica Simpson. She had broken up with Nick Lachey. It was the day Nick's album dropped, his solo album, his big comeback without Jessica, she decided to dye her hair red and wear a dress cut down to here. The very day that his album dropped, she got all the attention. I think she was on the COVID of the Post with Red Hot Jess. This is what they do. Meghan knows how to change the attention. She would much rather be talking about her staffing issues than her family issues. I also think too though we're going to figure out that, that this year they're going to have to make some money. They've spent a lot of money. So they got about 10 million from Diana. He got some, some money from his great grandmother too. And so they had some money there. He made a lot of money from the book. She went into the marriage with about 5 million that she made from, from suits all sounds like an enormous amount of money. Money we would love to to all have. But when you live like them, when you want to live like Oprah, that money goes really, really fast. And the money, this is what their Achilles heel is. And nobody's talking about the money to start up the business was their money. Harry and Meghan were so was so confident that this would be a billion dollar brand that as ever, they never ever raised any funding for it. They financed it themselves. They've lost everything.
Maureen Callahan
They're such idiots. I never took econ or business, but even I know if you're starting a business, don't use your own money.
Rob Shooter
Never ever use your own money.
Maureen Callahan
Watch an episode of Shark Tank. That's all you need to know. It's educated generations of Americans. Okay, what do you make? Before we move on to a gossip Story that is a bombshell that has gone woefully underreported in the mainstream media. Um, Harry spending the New Year's break away from Meghan in another state, skiing with his pal, the polo star Nacho Figueras.
Rob Shooter
Yeah. Yeah. And under a different name, he's now going by Harry Wales. When he was introduced at the polo match in the program, did he do that right? He's Harry Wales. He's not Harry Sussex, which is really interesting because my sources have told me for a long time he would actually be okay losing the Sussex title. He. He's not that invested in it. She is. She told her friend Mindy Kaling on her show.
Maureen Callahan
Yes.
Rob Shooter
To call her Sussex. She is a Sussex. In. In the Vanity Fair cover story, an assistant walked into the room and proudly announced, the Duchess of Sussex is here.
Maureen Callahan
Right. Empty town.
Rob Shooter
She really, really wants it. He doesn't really care so much about that. He will always be a prince. He goes by the name Wales. When he was at school, he. His name was Wales. When he was in the army, he was Harry Wales. That's the name that he went by when he was growing up. So it was so interesting to me that not only was he not with her, but he had reverted to Harry before Meghan, which is Harry Wales. And name's important.
Maureen Callahan
I agree with you. It's very important. And I find it cannibalistic, and I find it like, almost an assault against William. Who is the Prince of Wales.
Rob Shooter
Who.
Maureen Callahan
Whose wife is Catherine, the Princess of Wales. Their mother, Diana, the Princess of Wales. Now Harry's glomming back on to an identity, but it feels. It feels needlessly aggressive.
Rob Shooter
Yeah.
Maureen Callahan
Like, that's the last thing he should be doing.
Rob Shooter
Right. But. But. But once again, this is who they are. Like, you know, they're tone deaf about this stuff. To not be with her, to be with his friends, to be playing polo, to be. To really be stepping back in time. He misses that life. Everybody that I know who knows Harry, well, he is. He doesn't fit in. In la. I don't fit in la. Like, when you go to la, they don't look like Harry. The men look very different to Harry. They're not balding. They have amazing teeth. They all look like movie stars, unless they're really, really rich, like Jeff Bezos. And he's not that. And so Harry falls between two stools here. He's not a Hollywood hunk. He would never be allowed into those parties if he wasn't a prince. He knows it. It's really hard to make friends anywhere in the world. It's hard to make friends after you're 20 years old. And so all the friends that he had, the life he had, the fun he had, now it's all gone. And he's sitting in Monticello with his wife and his children and their chickens and their dogs and not much else.
Maureen Callahan
You know, you're so right, Rob. That's such a smart observation. He doesn't know the codes. You know, the codes in la, in California are far different than the codes in aristocratic circles in Britain. You're so, so right. And it's harder the older you get to make new friends. It is. And at his level of fame, he's gotta be suspicious of practically anybody who he didn't know from a long. You know. You're so, so right. Okay, unfortunately, I gotta get to Priscilla Presley. This lawsuit, which is the gift that keeps on giving. And the Inquirer broke this, and they broke it with evidence from the lawsuit that Priscilla Pressley, she's being sued by two former business partners. This is an object lesson. Either do business cleanly and honestly or settle the lawsuits when they come at you. Because we are learning bombshells. I mean, they have text messages and photos and posts on Instagram. So Jet Travolta, the buy the John Travolta's son with his late wife, Kelly Preston, who died in January 2009. He was age 16. He had a seizure in the Bahamas. It was tragic. This lawsuit contends that Jet was actually Lisa Marie's biological son, that he was half of a Presley, and that Lisa Marie gave her eggs to Travolta and Preston so that they could have Jet. Jet died again, tragically.
Rob Shooter
And.
Maureen Callahan
And Travolta and Preston wanted to try for another child. Lisa Marie again offered reportedly. And reportedly, Travolta said they didn't want, quote, unquote, heroin eggs. I guess Lisa Marie was still active in her addiction. And so they went to Riley Keough, Lisa Marie's daughter, who was then, like, very early 20s maybe, and asked for her eggs. And they. They cut a deal on a napkin that's part of this lawsuit and in which it's handwritten. The terms of this are the Travoltas would give Riley an old Jaguar and 10 to 20k for medical costs, and that was it. Riley gave the eggs in this exchange. And their son Ben is now. Riley is Riley's biological child. And so you have these siblings, one of whom is deceased, who are. I mean, what are they? They're Brothers, but grandsons. What is it?
Rob Shooter
I can't do the family tree on it. It is an amazing story. Now, the part of the story that is the tell for me is that anybody that would make up that story would think a celebrity would pay a million dollars and buy her a huge house. They don't. Celebrities are really cheap. They pay as little as possible. So if the story was made up, would read, he bought her eggs for $20 million in a private plane. No, he bought them for a very small amount and a used car. Now that's why I think this story really could be onto something because I know how cheap celebrities are and that totally fits together. And so this story, we might not be able to prove it maybe for a long time until a DNA test. We need Maury Povich on this one, but we're not going to be able to prove it. But I think this story's going to last. And it just adds to the wacky, wacky world of Scientology, of John Travolta. I know, I know. For years my friends were asking me, who's the father? When John Travolta had children, because of the rumors about his sexual preferences, a lot of people didn't believe that he was the biological father. Well, now we've been asking the wrong question, Maureen. It's not who's the father, it's who's the mother?
Maureen Callahan
Dead on, Rob. Bang on. And you know, this really bothers me because, you know, the, the, the entertainment shows, your Entertainment Tonights, your Access Hollywoods, they will not touch this story with a ten foot pole. So that's why the nerve exists for the real talk about fake people. And here's what, here's why I think it's true. Aside from the evidence that was submitted in this lawsuit, like they're, they, they have like posts and exchanges text messages where John Travolta is texting Priscilla saying, look at your beautiful grandson, Priscilla, Lisa Marie, the Travolta Scientologists. You could see that Travolta probably wanted to create some kind of dynasty. The Travolta genes, the Presley genes. But finally, the greatest argument for this being true to me is that it is so out there, it is so outer right limits that it has to be true.
Rob Shooter
It has to be true. It has to be true. Can I just say for a second that if the shows, I know a lot of the executive producers and the producers on those mainstream shows, please don't change. The reason Maureen and my show are a success is because of your failure. Keep doing those Boring stories. Keep asking Julia Roberts about what's in her fridge. And Maureen and my good self have a different lane. We are the priority product. The. The new media, the exciting media, the shows that you are now enjoying emerged because the. The. The media, the entertainment media that we watched for so long just didn't ask any real questions. Like, honestly, I think that I'm successful, Maureen, not because I'm so talented, but because they're so awful. They're awful.
Maureen Callahan
Well, you're quite talented, Robin. You're very personable in all of that. But as you said, nature abhors a vacuum, and so does the media landscape, and so does the consumer who's sick to death of having this garbage rammed down our throat. To this point, my next favorite celebrity story of recent days. I'm gonna skip ahead a little bit. Marlena. Don't kill me. Don't kill us. Mickey Rourke. Okay, so Mickey Rourke, the reports were in. The Daily Mail has been all over this that he is about to be homeless. He hasn't worked in forever. He has a GoFundMe now. He went on to Instagram January 5th to say that he has no idea about this and he disapproves. And he said so in a very colorful fashion. We're going to take a look at this together, Rob. Here we go.
Mickey Rourke
This is Mickey Rourke. And something's come up that I'm really frustrated, confused, and I don't understand. Somebody set up some kind of foundation or fund for me to donate money, like in a charity. And that's not me. Okay?
Maureen Callahan
I'd rather.
Mickey Rourke
I'd rather. If I needed money, I wouldn't ask for no charity. I'd rather stick a gun up my ass and pull the trigger. So whoever did this, I don't know if they did it, why they did it. I don't understand it. I wouldn't know what a Gofund foundation is.
Maureen Callahan
Okay, we can stop that there. We've got the point. We've got the point now, Mickey. I would like to point, Mickey, in the direction of the Hollywood Reporter. On January 4th, this headline, Mickey Rourke Approves GoFundMe to Prevent Eviction. Now, what has he just done? This GoFundMe has raised 90,000 doll so far, according to the Hollywood Reporter. It was set up by his, like, manager. His manager set it up. He's 60. He's 60k behind in rent, okay? And he's facing eviction. He lives in this bungalow, in a really, really nice bungalow dating back to 1926. It's, you know, and so the, the GoFundMe description reads, Mickey Rourke is currently facing a very difficult and urgent situation. The difficult and urgent situation is that he is living beyond his means and seems to have 20 dogs in the house. Okay. Mickey has, has had a hard time, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And it was, it was the, the long and the short of it is his manager set it up. Her name is Laia Joel Jones, a friend and member of his management team. And he's. He approved it. But, but he's. And by the way, he just checked into a $550 a night hotel in West LA. But he went on Instagram and said, I have no idea what this is and I don't want charity, Rob.
Rob Shooter
This blew up too much for him. I think he approved it. I think the manager told him they were going to do it. And then when he got the backlash that, that it did, I think that's when he, he posted that video. Although I did chuckle to myself when he said, I would never take money from fans from stranger. He would never debase himself like that. This is a man who took a check from Celebrity Big Brother. This is a man who's happy to take money from.
Maureen Callahan
I forgot about that.
Rob Shooter
That's right. So I was like, this isn't a man who has some sort of holier than thou moral high ground about jobs they will and will not take. You're on Celebrity Big Brother and why you want it, they're paying you. So get off that high horse about where you will accept money from. You'll accept money from the place that offers it. And in this case, it was GoFundMe. And I have a simple solution now. Give the money back there. Give it back. If it isn't for you, if that 60, I think $90,000 is not going to Mickey, then let's all get our money back.
Maureen Callahan
You know, Rob, that's such an elegant solution. And it's, it's an honest one and it's a moral one, and it's one. It's an action we will never see. You will never ever see. He'll say, well, somebody's got to take care of my dogs, you know? And by the way, I read that the rent has been jacked up to 7k a month. How about you downsize and live within your means like the rest of us?
Rob Shooter
Do we have to do this? We have to do this. Who has it in listening hasn't had a pay cut. Who hasn't thought they were going to get some money? And it didn't come through. We're all really careful about the lives that we live. Maybe not Harry and Meghan, but everybody else is pretty, pretty careful about it. Celebrities seem to think, I think just last week too, we read that Denise Richards is behind on her rent and has a pay your rent, pay your rent. And if you don't pay your rent, you'll be evicted. It's that easy. It's very, very weird. These celebrities want one freebies. They, you know, get in. A free dessert at a restaurant is one thing. No one's paying your rent. Earn your rent.
Maureen Callahan
You know what else is surprising to me about this? Talking about celebrities and finances. Whether it's Harry and Meghan who are now celebrities, really not royals or Mickey Rourke or Denise Richards. In the case of Denise Richards and Mickey Rourke, they both rent. And I would have assumed they would have taken some of their very hefty paychecks. Denise just had a very lucrative run on Beverly Hills Real Housewives. You take that money, you use it as a down payment for a home and you begin building your wealth. Why are they renting? Because they can't buy. They probably credit because they're not listening.
Rob Shooter
To you and Shark Tank. Maureen, I think you should be the next shark.
Maureen Callahan
Oh, I would love it. I mean, I don't nearly have the coffers where I could invest in any given. But as far as a judge goes, I mean, I'll judge anybody all day long. You know what I'm saying? Rob, I wanted to ask you before we, before we close out for today's segment. Will Smith and Tyler Perry are both being sued for sexual harassment. Tyler is being sued for $77 million. He's worth a reported 1.4 billion. And will is being sued by a violinist who performed with him in Las Vegas. And the report, I love, I love the details. I love a legal filing because the details of these stories are what really make them sing. Okay, so here is what it says. This is from an LA Times report dated January 2nd. Joseph soon joined Smith and crew for a performance at the House of Blues in Vegas. Joseph left his bag, which contained his room key and a van that took the performers to rehearsal. The the bag goes missing. Joseph gets back into his room later that night. I'm guessing he got a dupe from the hotel front desk found evidence that someone had entered his room without permission. The evidence included a handwritten note addressed to plaintiff by name, which read, brian, I'll be back no later. 5:30 than 5:30, I guess just us with a drawn heart signed Stone F. The document says among the remaining belongings were wipes, shades of Diddy wipes, a beer bottle, a red backpack. Again, the details, they tell us everything. A bottle of HIV medication with another individual's name, an earring, and hospital discharge paperwork belonging to a person unbeknownst to plaintiff. What do you make of it, Rob?
Rob Shooter
Oh, the details. You're absolutely right. A court filing. It's a court filing too. This is, this is a legal document. We've heard rumors about Tyler Perry. We've heard rumors about Will Smith for a very long time. If anything, I'm actually quite shocked that it's taken this long for people to speak out. What I think here is that where are all the people that were there for the MeToo movement when we were really, really supporting people who told their story? We were believing them. Where is Oprah, Meghan Markle, her son Archie, his grandfather is Tyler Perry. They gotta say something like, even if you defend Tyler, I'm not recommending that, but if my friend was in trouble, I would have to say something. You cannot just disappear. You can't pretend this conversation is not happening once again to the Entertainment Tonights and the Access Hollywoods. You're not going to find this story there. But this is a massive, massive, massive story. I think too. Talking about Diddy, you said it earlier in the show. If you're shady, if you're up to no good, and who does that, if Will Smith wants to, wants to hook up with somebody in, in his band, as long as it's consensual, knock yourself out. But getting a key, stealing a key and creeping into someone's allegedly room, allegedly. I'm gonna get there, I'm gonna get there. Sneaking into someone's hotel, it's just so vile and it's so celebrity and it's so, so, so in entitled, this is going to come out. I, I, I'm shocked that after what happened with Diddy, Will and Tyler, who both have a lot of money, didn't just pay this off, did he paid Cassie when she first asked for the money instead of trying to destroy her. I'm not sure Diddy would be sitting in a jail right now. So this story, it ain't going to go anywhere. I, I'm told there's more evidence, much more evidence that's going to come out.
Maureen Callahan
You know, to your point, what we're learning about celebrity is that at a certain point, you know, you have every, when everything is available to you, it becomes boring. You need to level up to get a greater Dopamine hit. You need greater, like, elements of danger, of risk, of potential criminality, of power and control. And if Will Smith broke into that man's hotel room and left all that stuff behind, you know, that is power and control. And again, those details that I find it very, very credible. And, and lastly, to your point about where is everybody after Diddy, where's Oprah? So I'm watching the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday, earning my paycheck for the troublemakers. I'm happy to do it. But Chelsea Handler, who I understand behind the scenes is a mean girl. A mean, mean girl. She gets up there and she's in her monologue, her opening monologue, she's talking about Rob Reiner and how he was the epitome of decency and how decency is so important and it's clearly so important to everybody in that room. And I'm thinking, look around that room and tell me, who stood up for any of Diddy's victims? Who. Who disavowed Diddy? Who didn't cower under the bed hoping they didn't get caught up by the feds in that snare that seemed disgusting. Disgusting trial. Whoever stood up for Cassie and said what Diddy did is disgusting. You know, we'll talk about this next time you're on the show, but Ashton Kutcher is now trying to make a comeback, and I got news for him. I don't think it's going to go very well.
Rob Shooter
Yeah, I think you're right here. Talking about decency does not make you decent, Chelsea. Ellen talking about being kind.
Maureen Callahan
Yes.
Rob Shooter
Not make Ellen kind. Be careful. Those that protest too much. And just to confirm what, what you've heard, I've been at the Chelsea Handler show when she had that show on E. Oh, yeah. She was a real mean girl. I was lucky enough to make friends with Joan Rivers. Joan hated her. Joan was on the same network, E. And Chelsea was so mean and disrespectful to Joan Rivers, like a legend. I just have some respect for someone.
Maureen Callahan
Would not have a career were it not for Joan Rivers.
Rob Shooter
And Joan took the higher road. Joan was relatively pleasant, but Chelsea, not a good person and the wrong person. Again, this is Hollywood to bring this message. I think it's a good message. Decency, kindness, they're good things. It doesn't matter what your politics. It's a good idea to be kind. It's a good idea to be decent. Chelsea Handler, Ellen DeGeneres is the last people I can think of who should be talking about this.
Maureen Callahan
Couldn't have said it better myself. Rob, my friend, what a sight for sore eyes. You are to begin 2026.
Rob Shooter
I'm glad that you're happy to see me. She's going to see me a lot. Shh.
Maureen Callahan
I know, I know.
Rob Shooter
I'm not coming up. There's a lot.
Maureen Callahan
All good stuff. All great stuff.
Rob Shooter
Troublemakers.
Maureen Callahan
Bye, Rob. Oh, my God. Always the best time with him. Always the best time. Those conversations fly. They feel like five minutes long to me. Okay, coming up, troublemaker feedback and more art. We are back and it's time for troublemaker emails. Okay, first up, this is from troublemaker Tanya, inspired by the nervy traveler to relax when I go to bed, I draw on my iPad. Had. So I thought I'd do something for you. Thank you for all your nerve. And she drew a photo of me as Frida Kahlo, which is just so thoughtful and inspired. Thank you, Tanya. Dear Maureen, this is troublemaker dawn from Vancouver, Canada, addressing Jennifer Aniston's new self proclaimed hypnotist boyfriend guy. I wonder how long before he will hypnotize her to get all her passwords and bank routing numbers. We will have to wait and see how that plays out. We will. And I don't think we'll be disappointed. Okay. I wonder if. Oh, Marlena, cover your ears. I wonder if maybe the reason Bill Maher keeps checking the top of his pant zipper with his finger during his show monologue is to check and make sure he zipped up his fly after masturbating before the show. Great theory, Dawn. I think you cracked that case. Okay, this is from Excuse me, Troublemaker Kimberly from sunny Florida. She says she has been a troublemaker since her very first show. Thank you, Kimberly. Hello. Oh, this is so great. Hello, Goddess Maureen. I'll take it. Please just refer to Tracee Ellis Ross as Tracy Alice. Great point, Kimberly. I believe she may be reveling in the attention, although negative, she gets from your show. If you drop the Ross and just call her Tracy Ellis, which is actually, I think the surname of her father is Ellis and she inverted it. You know why? It just won't give her the same fix. In fact, she may be disappointed from the lack of recognition of being born to her legend of a mother. Agreed. Hi, Maureen. Insight into Schlossberg family dynamics. This is from troublemaker. I'll just call you Troublemaker M because I'm not sure if you want to be anonymous or not, but this is an incredible email and I had the same thought. I wanted to talk to you guys about it a little bit. I read the news yesterday that Tatiana Schlossberg had died from cancer. May she rest in peace. Agreed. Indeed, may she rest. I was then taken aback when I read a quote from her New Yorker magazine article. Her essay, Tatiana wrote published 1122, 25, 63rd anniversary, I believe, of the JFK assassination. Regarding her diagnosis, Tatiana wrote, and I quote, for my whole life I have tried to be good, to be a good student and a good sister and a good daughter and to protect my mother and never make her upset or angry. Now I have added a new tragedy to her life, to our family's life, and there's nothing I can do to stop it. Troublemaker M writes, my jaw dropped. Mine did, too. Mine did, too. She describes her life not in terms of who she is, but in terms of how well she regulates her mother. She also describes her cancer diagnosis as a moral failure on her part, as though it was in her control and she failed. This quote was very revealing as to what type of dynamic Tatiana had with her mother. I feel terrible for anyone suffering from this type of dysfunctional relationship with their parent. I would love to hear your thoughts. You know, troublemaker M, I had the very, very same reaction. And I, you know, as you guys know, my dad died of cancer. And I know what a terminal diagnosis like that can do to a family, especially a family of origin, that dynamic. And when I read that, I thought it seemed very clear to me that Tatiana's first concern was not so much for herself or maybe even her children, but for her mother and what this would do to her mother and having Written that she spent her entire, entire life basically tiptoeing around, metaphorically speaking, trying not to upset her mother, do anything that might ruffle her mother's feathers. I thought, whoa. I mean, wow. I thought that said a lot. I thought that said a lot. And you know, the irony of it being, you know, not for nothing, I always think about this, you know, when, when adult children move very far away from their parents. I often think like 9 times out of 10 there's a reason like that physical distance. I mean, you know, my theory that once Megan and Harry's children are of age, they will be moving abroad. But you know, her daughter Rose lives in California. Jack is still connected to the T. You know, Jack is like not fully formed human being. He's 32 years old, he's never had a real job, currently running for Office Tracks. But you know, Tatiana, the middle child, trying to be the one who just assuages the mother, calms the mother, comforts the mother, does what the mother wants. You know, so much of like healthy development as a child, as an adolescent is pushing back and rebellion and separating yourself and individuating yourself. And I just, I couldn't agree more. I just could not agree more. Anyway, it's these kinds of emails that keep all of us@ nerve HQ just fascinated. And we just love talking to you guys. So keep the feedback coming. I have it here in physical form. I have annotated it like the cultural criminal prosecutor I am for you guys. Okay? Now Oprah is on the COVID Talking the truth about my weight loss, reads the headline. This from the woman who lied to all of us for many, many months that her sudden weight loss, you know, she was a shareholder, a major one in Weight Watchers. It was all points and, and exercise and all this. And finally, even the mainstream media was like, hey, you've lost half your body weight in under a year. Like, what's going on? And then she had to divest from Weight Watchers, admit she was taking Ozempic. And then she does a whole ABC special. We've covered it at length before now. So she does this cover story. And again, I would submit that the Nerve is beginning to move the needle in the culture in our very young life. Because what struck me about this piece, many things. But we've offered quotes from Stedman, who we are still searching for Steadman. We do not believe that Stedman is necessarily alive. Okay, any, any longer. But you know, Oprah, you know, and, and she submits in this People magazine piece, which, you know, People magazine in like alternative media has often been referred to as Kneepads magazine because they are so servile when it comes to celebrities and these stories they like to tell her own relationships. I am quoting from the article, including with her longtime partner, Stedman Graham, 74, who's been, quote, nothing but supportive no matter what her weight. Now, this quote is not attributed, which says to me that Oprah told People that Stedman has been nothing but supportive. And then Winfrey's longtime hairstylist Gives a quote that is relegated to a photo caption on the bottom of this page here. Steady support is the. Is the headline of the caption. They're there for each other, says Winfrey's longtime hairstylist Nicole Mangram of Winfrey's nearly 40 year relationship with Graham. I mean, if by there for each other, you mean that Oprah tends to the grave that she freshly dug with Gail for Stedman's remains either in Maui or Montecito, it's got to be one of the two. Sure, sure. I mean, I have no idea why Stedman isn't quoted here directly, why he couldn't just shoot an email from his own email account. I mean, I think the, I think the email account is just dormant. You know, as discussed, we emailed Steadman back in October, I believe, saying, hey, are you okay, man? Are you alive? And we have yet to hear anything. Okay, now what else is in here that. Oh my God, this is amazing. So Winfrey has to take her shots weekly. She says now, as discussed. And we are going to continue covering this, especially the next time Jillian Michaels is here, because on Tuesday, I believe it was yesterday, Wegovy went on sale in pill form. So the cultural pressure for everyone to get on this stuff, even if you have like a stubborn five or ten pounds to lose, is going to be extreme. And we here at the Nerve exist to say, resist, resist, resist, resist. Unless you are morbidly obese, like Alina Dunham, who, based on the images she's just been posting to Instagram, I believe is now on a GLP1. And she should be, because the comorbidities that would come along with her morbid obesity, you know, the risks far outweigh the benefits, I think. Anyway, so this is what Winfrey says, because we're gonna back to a conversation we had with Jillian. I thought of this immediately. Okay. Sometimes Winfrey says, quote, I can go 10 or 12 days because I still feel the effects of the week before, meaning she can go that long between shots. Side effects, people. Reports have been minimal, to which I say Jillian reminded us of Oprah being hospitalized last year for three or four days. That is a very long time. If you have to go to the hospital, they are hell bent on getting you out of there as soon as possible. A, to free up a bed. But also, B, hospitals are actually the worst place for sick people to be. So something went awry. And I know people who have done Ozempic and who have regretted it dearly. The, the, the damage that has been done to their internal organs, how sick they were on it. These are the stories the mainstream media will not tell you because guess who their biggest Advertisers are. These GLP1 companies. Okay, now this is amazing. There are two other things about this. First of all, she says that now, before, she used to hate exercise and she would never do it. Now she works out six days a week for about two hours. Okay, you tell me the average person working who can carve out that amount of time in any given week to devote to exercise. Okay, stop it. Just stop it. It's the GLP one. You know, it's the kitchen, not the gym, really. That's what it is. Secondly, she says that another unexpected difference about being on a GLP one is that she no longer has a desire for alcohol. Now, she said she would. She sounds like a hardcore alcoholic. She says here, you know. You know. You know how doctors have this sort of undiscussed rule in their world, which is when they ask a patient how much they drink in any given week, the doctor will double it on their paperwork. So this is what she says publicly, which leads me to believe she had double the amount. She says, and I quote, I was a big fan of tequila. I literally had 17 shots one night. 17 shots of tequila in a night. I mean, that's the kind of consumption when, like, frat pledges die during hazing. You hear they were forced to consume, like, that amount of alcohol so she could really put it away. And her tolerance level was like, I mean, ask Gail. It was out of this world. Right? So Marlena found this amazing clip of Oprah on Kelly Ripa. This was back when Kelly was with Ryan. Ryan Seacrest. Before Ryan got on a GLP1. And he looked better before. He looked better before he looked healthy. Okay, here she is talking to Kelly and Ryan in 2018 on that Morning chat show about how she. She again. Oprah has to be the best at everything. She makes the best margarita, even though Kelly is married to a man of Mexican heritage. And listen to what she says very closely. Here we go. For the cast and crew. You were making margaritas. I am a stone good margarita maker. Wow. And I hear I might have some competition. My husband Mark, who I know you know very well, he makes an incredible. Does he squeeze his own limes? He squeezes his own limes on top once it's blended. Oh, no. He makes a frozen. Yes, it's a family. It's a family recipe. It's a family from Mexico. Okay. From Mexico. Okay. Oprah goes on to say that she. Her tone in tenor. Okay, okay. Oh, your husband, his family's from Mexico. Like, you know where they. They originated the margarita. Okay, but like, I'm still right. I'm still right. Oprah says she goes on to say in that segment that she only adds lime juice to the tequila. So that is not a margarita. She is just drinking straight tequila shots. Okay? Now, Oprah has lied so much. My opinion, based on everything I've read and watched in her. Her story about losing weight, which, like, we've just lived with for decades. We have lived. And I think much as Meghan Markle has used staff defections and resignations as a deflection from what the real scandal is the real story, which is that her father is languishing in a hotel, a hotel, a hospital in the Philippines with his leg freshly amputated, and she doesn't give a fuck in some substance. That's what we've been told. She doesn't give a fuck that I think Oprah's uses the weight as a deflection from where? Stedman? Where's Steadman? Where's Stedman? Okay, so anyway, and then Oprah. So. So Marlena also found this clip. And I was like, I marvel. I marvel at your memory. She found this clip from Saturday Night Live. This goes back to 1992. It's Rob Schneider with Jerry Seinfeld playing a version of Jeopardy. And there is an Oprah category that will have you on the floor. Here we go.
Rob Shooter
The final category is Oprah. And the final question is Oprah.
Maureen Callahan
What is with her?
Rob Shooter
Your answer is she's fat.
Maureen Callahan
She's thin.
Rob Shooter
She's fat.
Maureen Callahan
She's thin. I mean, come on, pick a body.
Rob Shooter
And go with it.
Maureen Callahan
That is right. You are our. I've never liked Jerry Seinfeld more. I really haven't. And Rob is great in that clip, too. And it's been ever thus, right? It's been ever thus. Now I believe that. Oh, and Oprah's got a new book out, too, that she's shilling, which was with the co author, which means the co author did all the writing and Oprah smacked her name on it and she probably wrote it forward and that's it. So don't buy the book. Don't buy the book. I think that Oprah has clearly made a deal with the devil, and I do mean with Satan like she. She has. And that would make. That would track because, you know, I often refer to her as a. As a very dark force in the culture. And I Do believe she is a dark, dark force in the culture. Her, her promoting last year vigorously, with sustained, sustained effort of Liz Gilbert and her memoir, in which Liz Gilbert wrote about legitimately plotting to murder her girlfriend by swapping out her chemo pills with something much stronger and then waiting till she was unconscious to smother her to death with a pillow. And Oprah says to Liz, wow, you really went through something. You know, Oprah's really up, okay, she's really fucked up. And you know, she successfully has had a lot of the Oprah show before she turned into like, I'm all about like love and light and I'm gonna tell everybody how to self actualize and I'm gonna give away cars. I don't know how you square like gross materialism like that with spirituality, but, you know, it's for another time. She had like, her show originally was very tabloid, was very dark. And even though she's had a lot of it successfully scrubbed from the Internet, many troublemakers have come forward and said, maureen, remember this, remember this, remember this? And so we've got this like really ongoing archival search through the days of the Oprah Show. And this, by the way, is also. You listen to the pitch of her voice here. It was much higher. She talks about like having a vocal coach telling her she had to lean in later on, later on in life. But I remember this, that she had to lean in to going really deep with her voice, like really deep. And I think it, I think it, it goes towards, towards darkness, really towards the gravitational pull of, of, of darkness. So anyway, all that is to say you are not going to believe this clip. You are. It is real. It is a real clip from the Oprah Winfrey show in 1989. I actually think if you have kids in the room, you might want to pause this or just put earbuds in or come back to it later. If you're watching, she is interviewing women who are claiming without a shred of irony that they worship Satan and that they have, have been ritually sacrificing human beings and that they actually secretly have been. I mean, I won't even tell you. You got to hear it out of this woman's mouth. And also just check out Oprah's like, totally casual receipt of this information and lack of pushback. Here we go. What kinds of things went on in the family? Well, there would be rituals in which babies would be sacrificed and you would have to, you know, babies. There were people who bred babies in our family. No one would know about it. A lot of people were overweight, so you couldn't tell if they were pregnant or not, or they would supposedly go away for a while and then come back. How the FBI doesn't get involved immediately is beyond me. How Oprah did not sit and have a serious. I mean, maybe she did. I doubt it. Pre production, post production debates about whether this episode should ever see the light of day or whether they should call law enforcement. I, I, you know, but Oprah wants to be, you know, Queen of America, queen of the western world, and to get rich by telling all of us how to live. And I'm telling you, that's the real Oprah Winfrey. That's the Oprah Winfrey who wouldn't open her road in Maui as residents were fleeing by order of the government, a potential volcano. She wouldn't do it. You know, she finally was forced to. But, like, she's a, she's a dark person. You know, she never said a word against Diddy. I don't think she's ever really said a word against Harvey as a person. I mean, she, she came out as, like, she wanted to be queen of me too, as well. But, you know, this is who Oprah is, and, you know, so I hate Oprah. And again, one of the nerves, many missions. You know, we're just gonna keep peeling back the. Okay, and that's it. That's it for today's edition of the Nerve. Oh, wait. Marlena's gonna kill me. She also found this Austin Powers clip, which she thought would be the perfect coda to Oprah's very casual receipt of the information that these monsters were claiming that they were secretly breeding babies for the sole purpose of sacrificing them to Satan. Here we go, baby. The other other weight needs. Baby, it's what's for dinner. Baby, it's what's for dinner. Hey, you know what? Maybe part of Oprah's weight loss isn't just down to the Ozempic. Maybe Oprah stopped eating babies herself. You know, there's probably too many carbs in a baby. That does it. That does it for this edition of the Nerve at night.
