C
Hey, my friend. Good to see you. We made a little news this week. I saw that some of our comments, some of our reporting from this show made it onto AOL and other sites. So people are watching you, my friend. People are watching, yes.
B
And they're watching you as well. Rob, we know there's something very exciting coming up in your immediate future which we will keep under our hats for now. There is so much gossip to get to. First, I've got to ask you, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban. This latest bombshell that broke in the Daily Mail, the headline, the ultimate disrespect to Keith Urban, quote, this is awful, say friends who reveal every ugly detail of latest Nicole Kidman divorce escalation that's left him in quote unquote, a lot of pain. This was published on May 9. All eyes on Nicole and daughter Sunday Rose at the Met gala as you and I discussed on the livestream. But this reporting from the Mail says the gala for Nicole and Sunday Rose was less about the glamour and more appointed signal to the country star. Quote, they are icing him out. A close friend of Urban told the Daily Mail, quote, he feels disrespected and cast aside by his own daughters. Rob, your take on this.
C
Yeah, the report is amazing. I've read this story three or four times. It's full of the most juicy details. We talked about this on, on your show. We've talked about it several times. The kids are definitely team Nicole. They, they don't want to see their dad. I think he only gets them about 20% of the time and even that now looks very, very unlikely. They're with Nicole. They're with their mom all the time. My sources tell me that even though we still don't know 100. What happened in this relationship? I think we've got some very good indications of. Of what went down. The kids do know. The kids know everything, and they are team Nicole. I think Keith, too. And this happens not just in celebrity marriages, but in. In regular friendships and marriages. Sometimes you forget that the reason you are invited to the fabulous parties is you are the plus one. I'm always painfully aware of the fact that I'm not invited. I'm the plus one. And the Met Ball is the perfect example of this. Keith got used to going. He was there pretty much every single year. But without Nicole, he is not invited. That's going to be true of the Oscars, the Golden Globes, all these other amazing award shows that over a decade he attended. Pretty much every year he forgot the reason he was there was Nicole. And now that he's not with Nicole, Hollywood, these events, these big fashion shows, they don't want him.
B
That is so true. That is so true. Now, I was reading over the weekend, it was a report in. It was a tabloid report, but it seemed very well sourced that one of the rumors that Keith Urban has refuted for years was that he had at least one secret love child. And that this child may have been born around 94, which I believe would have predated his relationship with Nicole. But nonetheless, it seems to hint at something. Something grave that may have gone awry in that marriage. As you and I have discussed many times, what could he have done that was so bad? That sort of goes beyond what is normally accepted in those circles, you know, which is people stray. They stray. They have a lot of opportunity, a lot of options. What could be so bad that the daughters would ice him out?
C
Yeah, this is a really great question. I think we know Nicole has admitted, I think within two or three weeks of being married, he was in rehab. So this is not a drug problem. So anybody that thinks Nicole suddenly found out that Keith had a problem, that's not the truth. She's known that really from the beginning of the relationship. We also know, too, that. That Keith had a wondering eye for a long time. And so it's gotta be something really monumental here, because Nicole had made peace with who this man is, who he was. A piece that I don't think a lot of other people would be comfortable with, but she seemed pretty comfortable with behavior that many of us would find totally unacceptable. It had to go a step further. Something changed in this relationship. Once again. It wasn't that she suddenly found out that her husband was an addict. She knew that Going into the marriage, week two of the marriage, he was in the Betty Ford Clinic. So she's known that for a long time. What I think we're hinting at here and what people are speculating, is that maybe there is another child involved. Certainly that would upset his daughters. And just the disrespect to their mother. Then. Now, young ladies who understand what's going on, they know the Internet, they have their friends, and they were there. They were there. They saw what happened in this house. And I think now they are rejoicing the fact that their mother finally had the courage to say enough.
B
You know what else, Rob? This makes me think of one of our Inaugural Nerve Awards, 2025 winners. The Cocaine Clause. Remember the cocaine clause Nicole had put in their prenup, that if he was caught using cocaine at any point in the marriage, he was going to pay through the nose. No pun intended. So to your point, at the Met Gala, more reporting. Naughty But Nice. Exclusive. You're exclusive, Rob. Sources tell Naughty But Nice that Nicole intentionally kept her distance from Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster at the Met Gala out of loyalty to Hughes ex wife Deborah Lee Furness. Nicole is firmly Team Deb. One insider says she believes Deb was deeply hurt by how everything unfolded. And Nicole isn't interested in pretending otherwise just because you showed up with a new woman on his arm. Not even naming that woman is definitely a shiv. Rob, expound, if you would.
C
This is amazing. When this. When this fell into my lap, I knew. I knew Nicole and Deborah really close. In fact, the last time I saw Deb out and about in New York, we talked about Nicole, and she told me her quote was, nicole is my best friend. And I really believe that. You have to remember that she was Hugh Jackman's wife. But in Australia, Deb was the biggest star to begin with. People knew who Deb was. When Nicole was coming up in the business, she really looked up to Deb. So they had a relationship without Hugh Jackman. They're all Australian here, and she's really loyal to that. They are friends. Often when you have a big celebrity husband, a lot of people in your life are there because of your husband, because of the star. This is not the case with Nicole and Deb. So Deb, I remember telling me that Nicole's my best friend. And so at the Met, I was like, how is this going to work? We didn't know if Hugh Jackman would be there. But then he turned up late. And the reason he was late is he wanted to avoid the welcome reception. Nicole was hosting the Met, so when you walked through those steps, she got there really early. Remember, right at the beginning, Nicole was there. When you walk through the main doors, you shake hands with Anna Wintour. You shake hands with Nicole Kidman. You shake hands. I think Lauren Sanchez was in that line too, because she paid for it. You did not want to turn up and shake Nicole's hand because he knows what he did. Everybody knows what he did. I broke the Sutton Foster cheating room, and my Broadway friends told me that they were hooking up really, really soon when they started the Music Man. I was invited to the opening night of the Music man and sat behind Deb, who was so proud of and so excited to watch her husband up there. And to think that the whole cast, that the whole crew knew what was going on behind her back was just heartbreaking. So I think Hugh's paying the price here. Not just with friends like Nicole Kidman, but I think the public is starting to figure out that Hugh Jackman maybe isn't that really good, sweet guy. He's best friends with Ryan Reynolds after all. He's maybe not quite as nice as we think. And they were very, very frosty to one another at the Met.
B
I was going to ask you about the Blake Lively thing in just one second, but to your point that Nicole and Deborah are true friends, we've discussed this before. Deborah was not just a huge star in Australia, but she was taken very seriously as a very gifted actress. And what I think makes this story even worse is that she gave up her career to help make Hugh Jackman an international star. A friend of mine saw Nicole out in Amagansett on Long island maybe a month or so ago. So off season, it's still kind of wintry. Amagansett is also where Gwyneth Paltrow has a home. It's near where Hugh and Deb have their home. And I thought, oh, I wonder. She must be out there with Deb. She must be out there helping Deb sort of get through this because it's gone on and on and on. And to your point, Hugh Jackman is on those steps, as is Blake Lively. Hugh Jackman has been keeping his distance, it seems, from Blake and Ryan, but that whole cohort that Blake, Ryan, Hugh Jackman, Taylor Swift cohort, it seems to have all fallen apart, and now they're all trying to avoid each other because they're all radioactive.
C
Yeah. The first one that got any hint of this, the first clue we had, I think I broke it, was maybe when Jake Gyllenhaal was part of that gang member when he.
B
No, I actually don't.
C
If you Google back, it was Ryan. Hugh and Jake were making videos together. Lots of TikToks, lots of Instagrams. They were mates. And suddenly Jake disappeared from that group, leaving Ryan and Hugh. And now this has become so toxic. When you put toxic people together, it doesn't matter if you're famous or not. You just have to sit back and eventually it's going to blow up. And so this was a group of toxic people, and it has absolutely blown up. They all keep their distances from one another. But to dump toxic friends and turn up with your mistress at the Met Ball when your wife's best friend is hosting it, he knew that it was not by chance. Seems like the ultimate insult to me. And I'm really happy that Nicole wanted no part of this. Remember, too, Nicole is going through heartbreak. She knows what it's like to have a man betray her. Let's use that word, betray her. And so Nicole here has an even more deeper sympathy, a gratitude to her friend Deb. She knows what Deb is going through because Nicole's heart is breaking, too. And so I'm told these two are a shoulder for one another to cry on and Hugh to turn up, and he turned up late, and he did it on purpose and he got there and it shouldn't have gone. Just don't go. You know, it's Nicole's night. She's the host of the Damn Ball. And you still have to go with your mistress, with your girlfriend, with Sutton Foster. Shame on all of them. And shame on Sutton for going. The. Sutton must have known that Nicole was hosting this. Your wife, your ex wife's best friend is the host, and we're going. I think that if I forget the Met Ball, if I was going to go to a house party, if I was going to go to. To. To an event, and I thought that my. My ex's partner was going to be there, I just wouldn't do it. It's just. It's why the nerve exists, because these people have nerve.
B
They have such nerve. And that's such a great point that hadn't even occurred to me. Why was Hugh Jackman there? He certainly didn't need to be there. He's extraneous in the culture at this point. He's parading around his mistress who looked thrilled to be there. I mean, as we discussed on the live stream, Nicole aside, it does seem like a convention for the worst people in the world. You know, it's like he was really sticking it to Nicole in a way, saying, you know what? F you, F you, F his ex wife. Oh, Blake's on the red carpet. Not a problem. I'll just avoid her too. Can you imagine what it was like inside that thing for those who stayed?
C
Yeah, luckily it's huge in there. I've been, I've gone a couple of times. I was going to say lucky enough to go, but it was actually both times a miserable night. It's empty inside. When, when should you get through, through the red carpet. Many, many people leave early. We had reporters waiting at the hotels and lots of celebrities arrived about 8 or 9 o' clock early in the evening. They were back at the hotel already. My sources tell me that Nicole and Hugh were both there at the same time and had no interaction. I believe that that's Nicole. He would have had the chutzpah to walk up to her and introduced her to Sutton. It's just, it's tone deaf. It's so rude. It's so clue. Clueless. It's so narcissistic. And you're right, he's not just sticking it to Nicole, he's really sticking it to death. He's proving to Depp that, you know what, you can't stop me and my girlfriend from doing whatever we want. Watch this. Really gross.
B
He has no shame. And you know, they're not. They keep their kids out of the spotlight, but their kids are well old enough to know exactly what's going on. Okay, Blake Lively. This continues to juicy, juicy, juicy items. Justin Baldoni again, a Rob exclusive. Justin Baldoni eyes. It ends with us sequel. Even without Blake Lively, this quote is a banger. Justin still believes in these stories and believes audiences are ready to move on. He thinks the focus can finally return to the movies instead of the off screen drama. And Rob, I have to say, if he makes a sequel, I would be among the first to put money in this guy's pocket.
C
Yes, yes, yes. He has developed a support group, a fan base group that he didn't have before Blake attacked him. Let's remember, he has paid a cost to here. There's a lot of people in Hollywood who are still living in fear of Blake and Ryan. Ryan is very, very powerful. Justin is not getting offered jobs. I spoke to a friend and they said Justin has to create his own work. He would never have got to direct. It ends with us if he wasn't the producer. People were not hiring him as a director. He was a good actor, but this was his Real breakout. He proved that he could do a really good job with it. He's bought both books. So when he optioned the first book to get the theatrical rights, he actually was smart enough to realize there's two books, it ends with us, and it starts with us both. Best Salads by Colleen Hoover. And so he got a deal with the author, with the publisher, to option both books. He produced one movie, and it did really very well for the budget that they had. It made a lot of money, and then Blake blew the whole thing up. Now that that legal dispute has been settled, Justin's gonna move forward. He's got the rights. He's paid the money. It's his project. Blake can't stop him. Colleen Hoover can't stop him. They've signed a contract. And he also, too, is time sensitive. When you option a book, you get it for a certain amount of years. And if you don't produce a movie, a play, whatever you want to do with that original source material, it goes back to the author, so I'm told. I don't have the exact timing, but I'm told the clock is ticking. And Justin wants to get this movie up and running. And I think it could be an even bigger hit than the first one. And I wouldn't put it past Blake to return. She needs a job too, and no one's offering her any work.
B
Okay, two things. One, I think Colleen Hoover, the smartest thing she could do, would re up with him if that. If that initial option expires, Give it to him. Give it to him for a nominal fee. The idea that Blake would return, though, Rob. That one I find almost too good to believe that he did this to her once. How could he ever be in this? I mean, Nicole and Hugh in the same room together, right? These two working together day in and day out. I just don't see it.
C
I don't see it either. But I also didn't see her turning up at the Met three hours after. After the. She settled this dispute. And so Blake is shameless. He's shameless. And so I would not put it past her. When my source told me this, I gasped. I was like, there's no way. This is impossible. It just could not happen. They reminded me there's a lot of things about Blake that we didn't know that now we do, one of which is that she is absolutely shameless. And for her to go back and work with him, it would be outrageous. But she's an outrageous person. She was at the Met three hours after settling Just three hours.
B
You know what? Stranger things. Stranger things. You had another great item about Blake needing Anna Wintour's intervention for the Met Gala. Again, the worst persons in the world convention. Quote from your substack, Rob's Naughty but nice. Go subscribe. This wasn't about designers being afraid of looking mean. One insider says my side, it never is. Most of them are. Quote. It was about not wanting to look like they were backing a mean girl. Blake's brand has absolutely collapsed in certain fashion circles. A few years ago, having Blake wear your gown was considered a huge win. Now some designers think you think it hurts more than it helps. And Anna stepped in and said, you're making her a dress and she is coming. She is my guest of honor.
C
She had real trouble here. The pushback, the reaction to Blake has been really deafening. And it's not just Hollywood, it's fashion too. Blake was really a designer's dream. She was the look. She was well known, but not too well known. She was almost like a model. And so designers loved, loved dressing Blake Lively. She could pretty much get any dress she wanted. We saw on the promotion tour of Ends with us, she had designer after designer after lining up. I know because I've worked with celebrities. The Met is quite a difficult event to get a dress for because all the really good dresses are going to go to the big stars are going to go to the stars that are hosting it. And so that's how we know that Blake definitely had this planned all along. We know she had it planned because she couldn't have got that dress. I'm told initially when her stylist, when she started to reach out, suddenly the dresses, the fashion houses that she had previously worked with, not quite as available as they used to be. That's when Anna got involved and made sure that she had that perfect dress.
B
Rob, what's in it for Anna? What's in it for Anna to ally herself with the biggest bully Hollywood has seen in ages?
C
Yeah, it's such a. A bad move. But this is a woman who tried and did, did make Daliano's career come back after he used anti Semitic remarks. This is the same woman that really tried hard to make Harvey Weinstein's ex member. Georgina Chapman. Yes, Marquesa. Anna worked really hard to bring her back. Anna likes to pick up these strays, and I think it proves to Anna just how powerful she is. And I would have argued that 10 years ago she could have helped Blake Lively. Now Anna doesn't have the power to help Blake Lively. So she can get her into her own award show. But she couldn't save Marquesa. She couldn't save Georgina Chapman. I don't think she's going to be able to save Blake Lively too. She tried. Blake Lively was not only at the Met. Mine Siders inside the room told me she was sitting at Anna's table.
B
Stop it.
C
Anna's guest. She was a. It's a table of 10. One of the 10 people were Blake Lively. She was Anna's guest.
B
Okay, this makes sense to me. Only as you just posited an ego play, right? I'm so powerful, I can take the most, most loathed people in Western culture and revive them. She really couldn't do it for Galliano. And in fact, she had Lauren Sanchez wearing vintage Galliano at the presser the morning of the Met gala. She. You're so right. She. She tried to do it with Georgina Chapman. Post Harvey Weinstein saying, Georgina knew nothing. It's not her fault. Even before Harvey was brought up on all these charges and MeToo happened, you know, this Rob Marquesa was a laughingstock in the fashion community. Everybody called them like they were. They were costumes. Ice skating queens.
C
Yes. Yes. Yeah, I was made. I was working at okay. Magazine at the time. I was an executive editor. And to get Harvey's movies, to get Harvey's stars, we had to do fashion spreads on Marquesa. And they were ice skating. They were prom dresses. This was Miss America type pageant dresses. But I had to go to the showroom with all the other fashion editors and the editors and chiefs and we'd walk around and we all, oh, it's such mean girls. But we were sort of giggling about it. But everybody was there. And Harvey stood at the door almost ticking your names off like you were in school, like you were there attending class. But it was so interesting because whenever I'd see Georgina out at the Soho House or one of these private clubs, she was always having drinks with somebody really fabulous. And she didn't realize. Maybe she did. This is the Keith Urban thing, isn't it? She thought we were all there for her. She thought Vogue was covering her because of her talent. It was because she married a very powerful man who could provide Anna with the Stars for the COVID that she wanted. And so Anna did try to save Georgine Chapman and it didn't work. Didn't work. She was at the Met. She was at the Met, Georgia.
B
Yeah, I saw her with Adrien Brody, who also left her stranded, just like, you know, that the Oscars when he Threw his. He took out the wad of gum from his mouth and threw it at her. I saw them on the red carpet, the green carpet at the Met. And she was like floating around like flotsam and jetsam while Adrien Brody was like magnetized to whatever camera lens, you know. But the notion that this is just. It's too rich. I just. We have to just live here for one minute. Harvey Weinstein is running around New York City jerking off into potted plants at downtown nightclubs, raping actresses and models and aspirants, but demanding that the New York media, who knows what he's up to but just can't print it. Cuz they don't have enough proof yet. Cuz nobody will go on the record. Has to go up and see his wife's shitty designs and play like he's like, you know, the fucking sheriff in town while he's cheating on his wife, who's over at Soho House deluding herself into thinking that the creme de la creme of fashion and media are there for her because she's such a brilliant designer. Meanwhile, she's got to fuck this guy who all accounts on the witness stand said his dick is like this big. It's like a malformed almond. I heard somebody yelling outside. I hope I wasn't too loud. Anyway, let's move on to Kylie Jenner, who is being sued by a second housekeeper. She's already being sued by a first housekeeper, an initial housekeeper, I should say, who claims that Kylie had her clean her boyfriend's LA mansion. We all know the boyfriend is Timote Shyamalama. Ding dong. He can man spread all he wants at the Knicks games. You're not masculine. Kylie Jenner sued by second housekeeper who says she slipped a letter to Jenner pleading for help. She alleges her name is Juana Delgado Soto. Alleging racial discrimination, harassment, failure to pay wages, more she. From her list of allegations. This is unbelievable. Was she working for Jennifer Lopez or Kylie Jenner, quote, restricted from drinking water in the home, quote, limited or denied bathroom access. Denied time off to grieve, family loss, retaliation after reporting issues, racial discrimination. Denied meal and rest breaks. Or is she working for Jeff Bezos? Jeff Bezos at Amazon? Finally, the. The claim was also. I believe you tell me, Rob, that she was told not to look at Kylie or acknowledge her in any way. Way.
C
Yeah. It's a house of horrors. And this is what happens. This is how stories like this break slowly. We hear the whispers, then a few rumors. And then somebody's brave enough to come forward. These are people with very little power. Not Kylie, the people working in that house. Can you imagine coming forward against someone that's maybe worth $1 billion, certainly multi, multi millions and having nothing. They have so little they can't afford the best lawyers. They're barely. Most housekeepers that are working for celebrities barely get by. But they see everything. And you would think that the stars, the really smart stars actually treat their staff very, very well. Anybody that comes into their house, they treat very, very well. Because this is how the truth gets out. We saw it with Ellen, didn't we? At first it was just a little rumor that Ellen wasn't so nice. And then one celebrity was brave enough to say yes, to talk to a reporter. And then the dam burst. I feel like we're at the point now where the dam is going to. She had a staff of tens of people, not hundreds, but there were a lot of people that went in and out of that mansion. It's a huge, ridiculous home. She needs five or six people just to clean the place, just to dust the place. Then she has a gardener, she has pool people. She has an enormous army of staff. Good for her. She's got the money to do it. But treat people well and she didn't. And she can only blame herself for that. She's in charge of this. It's her home. If she can run $1 billion beauty business, then she can also run a house. I think there's no excuse here. I think this is going to really hurt the Kardashians because picking fights with Paris Hilton or Lindsay Lohan pick punching a worthy competitor is actually something that I think we quite enjoy. It's quite entertaining. But hunching down, it's like when you go on a date and somebody's rude to a waiter. That's what she's doing here. And I think it's gross. And I think the fact that Timothy finds this behavior, finds her attractive really is an indictment of him too. He knows he's been in that house. He's seen. He's seen how she talks to people. He's seen how she treats people. And so he's just as guilty here in my opinion, as her.
B
It's as we were talking about earlier, that sort of radioactive circle of Hugh Jackman, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Taylor Swift, you, you can try and escape it. You know this. If the nerve has any, a main goal for 2026, it's that Taylor Swift and Ryan Reynolds especially do not escape from this sort of nimbus cloud of of. Of bullying and harassment and trying to steal a man's livelihood and reputation. It is so unbelievably thuggish. It is thuggish. And Taylor's going to try to distract us all with a wedding of. A wedding of the century. You know, it's such bullshit. Are you wrestling with bras that dig in shapewear that rolls down constantly or underwire that feels like medieval torture? Okay, on to another blockbuster, Rob. A blockbuster. The Daily Mail over the weekend. This from. This is from Andrew Lowney's book, which has been updated, I believe, for the paperback edition. The headline, this is the former Duchess or Stol. I think she still has the Duchess title. I don't know. Sarah Ferguson's secret quote, friends with benefits, relationship with. Wait for it. Talk about toxic people attracted to toxic people. Criminal people attracted to criminal people. P. Diddy, Sarah Ferguson and Sean Combs were having a sexual relationship that lasted for years. What do you know?
C
Yeah, this is. This is a really tricky story for me. Let me. Let me tread carefully. I worked for Diddy and I also was around Sarah Ferguson quite a lot. Naomi Campbell was one of my clients and she was Friends too, with Diddy and Sarah Ferguson. So I think I've even had dinner. I certainly had a dinner with Diddy. I think all four of us were together at a dinner. This shows you what a great reporter Andrew is. I can reveal it, he can't. I spoke to Andrew for this book. I did not give him this piece of information. He. He asked me about it and I'd never seen it. In fact, I sort of saw the opposite. Diddy made fun of Sarah Ferguson. They rolled their eyes at who she was, how she looked. If you look at some of the people that Diddy has been with, we know Cassie, we know J. They're a very different type of person than Sarah Ferguson. However, Didi was absolutely infatuated with the British royal family. So I am not dumping on Andrew's reporting here. I could see a way this is. This could be the truth. It didn't come from me. It must be a different Diddy source he has. But Diddy had pictures up of the princess in his apartment. He had Harry and William's photograph in a frame.
B
Like what kind of photos? Were they like private photos or did he cut them out of magazines?
C
Looked like they were cut out of a magazine. Yeah, it looked like a shrine. And he was always trying to get them to come to his white parties. He'd often ask me to reach out to the palace to get them there. So I do know that Diddy had an infatuation with the royal family and maybe he saw Sarah as his way. She was a royal at the time. Maybe he saw Sarah as his way in. Diddy was very manipulative. He knew how to get to what he wanted. And if he had to go through somebody to get it, he would snake his way around. So it's bombshell reporting. At first I was skeptical about it. She just isn't the type of woman he would normally abuse or go after. However, what she did have, and I've seen this a lot, and Sarah knew this too. She had that royal smell about her. She did have that connection to the palace. And anybody who wanted part of the palace, and many of us did, found Sarah as the key that unlocked the door. So maybe, maybe this is. This is, this is real. He's a really good reporter, so I would never doubt anything that he says. But I've got to admit, I never saw anything. I was with them. I never saw them flirting. In fact, I saw the opposite. I saw Diddy be kind of mean to Sarah.
B
I think both actually track, you know, Andrew's reporting. Apparently he's got sources both from the Diddy camp and Sarah Ferguson's camp saying that this is true, that he could equally humiliate her and, and want to humiliate her by having sex with her in order to get to younger royals. And it what you're saying about the shrine, I mean, this is your breaking news here, that Diddy kept to William and Harry, which was composed of photos that he, that he cut out of magazines like a teenage girl with a tiger beat and then framed and was trying to manifest them. And what we know of Diddy and his obsession with good looking younger men, with the ushers of the world, with the Justin Biebers of the world. It's so dark, this thread of darkness. I mean, we will end on another two. We have two tiny items. Not tiny, they're big. Okay, Meghan. Meghan Markle exclusive. Plotting to unleash crybaby documentary. This is from Radar Online detailing her quote, seven years of woe with what outlet exactly? She believes Netflix. And okay, I gotta give you the quote because it's priceless. There's already talk that this could be framed as a deeply as yet another deeply personal account with a lot of specifics of her time in the royal spotlight. The pressures, the fallout, the sense of isolation. It will draw the usual criticism she gets for moaning, but from Megan's perspective, it's about reclaiming her narrative and setting the record straight in her own words, as if she hasn't been doing this since the time she alighted on the scene seven years ago. Rob, is there any truth to this?
C
Absolutely. This is total Meghan Markle. She cloaks herself in being a victim and so this is her natural default. Any project that she does will be about her victimhood and how she's been treated badly. So yeah, she's looking for her next thing. Everything she's done so far has not worked. And so now she seems to be double downing to really going down hard on this one, doesn't she? She, she, she talked about it on her trip to Australia and so I would not be at all surprised. I think that this is probably right.
B
Do you think Netflix would bite?
C
I don't know. She has a really weird relationship with them that they haven't completely dumped her, that they are sort of still around. She does have a first look deal if she did it cheap. And that's what, that's what really messed her up the first time. Netflix has a lot of really shitty shows on there, but they're cheap shows. And so Megan's problem was if she was asking for Beyonce money for. For a project that was anything but Beyonce, if she now is willing to make this for next to nothing, if she will absorb all the costs herself, then I think, I think they might, they might run it.
B
I love that she is hoping to get back with Netflix in another enterprise such as this, even in the face of your reporting, which I'm sure she would like to believe isn't true, but I believe is 100% true that Ted Sarandos, his wife Nicole, avant quote hates Meghan. Hates her.
C
Meghan is not a likable person. I feed around her before she met Harry, she's not warm and fuzzy. She is somebody that very ambitious and she's also somebody that doesn't really read a room. She keeps going down the rabbit hole. When I meet people that don't like me, it's going to happen. In life, you're always going to meet somebody that doesn't like you. You cut and run, you move to the next. Megan doesn't know how to do that. It's almost like she love bombs you. In fact, the less you like her, the more she has to make you love her. It hasn't worked so far with anybody except her husband Harry.
B
Rob, this means we're in for it for the rest of her natural life on earth because the rest of us don't like her. And what you're saying is she's gonna keep going until we do.
C
We're stuck with her, Maury.
B
It's never going to happen. Ever. Okay, final exclusive, which I was dying to talk to you about. There was a major bombshell that 60 Minutes Australia aired over the weekend. The Nerve is going to get to it. And we have many thoughts, and maybe not ones you would expect about this, but your exclusive, Rob, goes to the success of the Michael movie. What they call a biopic, what I call a fairytale. Your exclusive. The Jackson family would tell the whole truth about Michael for the right price. An insider tells you, and I quote, a lot of Michael's family members would sell him out tomorrow if they thought the money was big enough. The only people stopping that from happening are Catherine, the matriarch and the kids. When you say the whole truth or when they tell you the whole truth, Rob, what do they mean?
C
Yeah, they're talking about the abuse allegations. They're talking about the plastic surgery. They're talking about changing skin colors. Michael has a really ugly, ugly personal life. And the first movie chose to ignore all of that. It stops in 1985. At the peak of the Bad Tour, the plastic surgery is clearly, clearly there. But the allegations about child abuse had yet to explode. The problem the Jackson family has, and they're a greedy family, they have lived off Michael and his money, really, their entire lives, the entire family. The problem they have is that the first movie is such a success. I think it's up to 400 million doll. It's going to go on to make as much as the Queen biopic. The problem the family has is when you make that sort of money, you have to make a sequel. There's more money on the table. You want to make a sequel. Now, what sequel do they make? Because they deliberately ended in 1985 at Wembley in London, at the Bad Tour. If they then push that story forward, which is where an obvious sequel would go, then they have to talk about all the repulsive things around Michael and his life. The mother will not accept. Accept that there's no way Catherine will ever let that movie be made. Certain people in the family would be quite happy to make that movie if the money was there. And so this is going to be a dilemma. But let's be honest. Catherine Jackson is in her 90s. It's May she live as long as possible. But eventually this family is going to turn and they do this, the Jacksons, they turn on one another. And it's going to be really interesting to see what happens with this sequel and if the sequel can be as untruthful as the original.
B
Okay, I know I said that was the last one, but I have one more. I just saw it on my list and I was like, I have to do this with Rob, because you're the only one who's going to tell the real truth about this. The Jimmy Fallon was on the Today show this morning or yesterday morning. No, wait, it was Monday morning. He was on the Today show Monday morning promoting his new. This new game show. He. He's producing wordle, which is going to be hosted by Savannah Guthrie. The whole thing is so weird. Like, this is what Savannah comes back for to host wordle. Okay. Anyway, but over the weekend before last, he was in Miami. Jimmy, who, you know, we know he's had his issues with alcohol. Reportedly, allegedly. And possibly other substances. Reportedly, allegedly. He was in Miami for a Formula One event. It was the Grand Prix. And here is a. I don't know if you saw this, Rob, but we're going to look at a clip of him being interviewed by Sky Sports reporter Martin Brundle and watch what Jimmy does to the microphone. If you're listening. He bit the Styrofoam, the part of the microphone, microphone off, and had it going around his mouth. Rob, you report that Jimmy was acting erratic, which is a code word we in the trade know very well all weekend. What is going on with Jimmy. What do NBC execs know and. Or care about?
C
Yeah, they fear that the troubled Jimmy is back. The troubled Jimmy was at the Tonight show for a really long time, and then the reports broke and he seemed to clean up his act a little bit. But this weekend in Miami, the last weekend he was in Miami, I had people who were there who saw him. They said everything about him was off. It wasn't just that one moment. It never is. It you just capture one moment on video and you're like, oh, my goodness, what a crazy moment. That's who he was all weekend. Everything he turned up at and everywhere he went, he was odd. I. I've been around Jimmy, and he's a really darker person than what he comes across on television when he's in front of the camera for an hour a night. He's charming and funny and witty. That's not the Jimmy that you see backstage, that you see on morning shows. And certainly that was not the Jimmy who was in Miami. That, that short video is just the tip of the iceberg.
B
The Nerve is going to do a deeper dive on late night comics and the dying late night genre. But, you know, I feel any, any intelligent, intuitive person would glean at least that Jimmy is a darker person, because when you look at him night after night on that show and the moronic, you know, celebrities he'll have on, and, and Jimmy will, night after night, fold himself over into hysterics and slap that desk and wipe away fake tears at the inanities that come out of their mouths as if they're the funniest things or play stupid games. You know, it's like. And you can tell the guy just is just miserable. And there was that Rolling Stone expose that we're going to revisit to 2023, where it was like a house of horrors working at Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show. The guy, remember the finger incident where he almost lost his finger? He never said really what happened. It was clear he was out of his fucking mind on whatever he was
C
out of his mind on Best Friends with Justin Timberlake. Say no more. Remember that? Best friends.
B
Say no more. Say no, Rob. Speak no more until you and I are back together again in a week. We love you so much. We'll see you Soon.
C
Take care, my friends.
B
Take care, Rob. Coming up, troublemaker feedback. We are back in a minute. Whether you're a skincare maximalist or a skill soap and water minimalist, we eventually all hit a wall where our skin just doesn't bounce back like it used to. That's why One Skin is a game changer. One Skin isn't just another moisturizer. It's a radical shift in how we treat aging. Because as we age, we accumulate zombie cells. Cells that stop functioning but hang around, causing fine lines and dullness. OneSkin's proprietary OS1 peptide has been engineered by longevity scientists to actually target these cells at the source. I love this stuff. You're getting the luxury feel of high end skincare, but with science that most brands haven't even touched yet. And it goes on so light and it sinks in so quickly, you can feel the quality. Born from over a decade of longevity research, One Skin's OS1 peptide is proven to target the visible signs of aging, helping you unlock your healthiest skin now. And as you age, for a limited time, try one skin with 15 off using code NERVE at OneSkin co. NERVE. That's 15 off OneSkin co with Code Nerve. After you purchase, they're going to ask, where did you hear about us? Please support our show. Tell them you're a troublemaker and that the Nerve sent you. We are back, and it is time for Troublemaker feedback. Art and photos. Dear Maureen, our one celebrity scandal that the world seems to have collectively forgotten or ignored. You know, when I was talking to Rob, I was thinking about this. It's hard to not think about Nicole Kidman's seeming abandonment of her children with Tom Cruise. Now, it's unclear exactly what went on there. You know, Katie Holmes knows what this is like. She ran like a thief in the night with her daughter with Tom Cruise, and Tom Cruise has had no real contact with his daughter for many, many years. In Scientology, if you are. If you leave the religion or you refuse to adhere, you are considered a suppressive person. That extends to whether or not you are the mother of children who are in Scientology. So for all we know, Nicole does not have a relationship with those children not of her choosing. That said, that said, Nicole did post something on Instagram for Mother's Day over the weekend. I'm continuing from this troublemaker's email. Nicole, I saw this and I was. I had the same reaction. Nicole posted a picture of herself with her two daughters with Keith Urban together with a loving message for them, totally ignoring Isabella as her eldest daughter. And Connor as her son. Isabella and Connor with Tom Cruise. The ins and outs of that divorce and divorce settlement have always been a closely held secret. But to abandon children? Again, we don't know that Nicole abandoned them, but I do think that that Instagram post was unfortunate, to say the least. This from our beloved Paul from New Zealand. Congrats, Maureen and team Nerve. Paul saw this and sent it to us, and it's so thoughtful. I didn't post about this when it was sent to me originally months ago, but when I saw Paul's rendition and his congrats, Art, I thought, you know what? We should share it. Because this, this victory belongs to all of us, every single troublemaker. The Nerve. There's a trade publication called Edison Research, and the Nerve was ranked the number six top podcast launched in 2025. We are in the top 10 of podcasts launched last year. And that is really a testament to your loyalty and how much you guys contribute to the show and spread the word. And so. Thank you. Thank you. Okay, Mother's Day. We got a lot of feedback on the Mother's Day segment we did with the wonderful psychotherapist and bestselling author Meg Josephson. And basically, this was a Mother's Day segment for anyone who has a really hard time on Mother's Day. Whether you have a difficult mother, whether it's your first Mother's Day without your mother, perhaps she has died or perhaps she is ill, or whether you as a mother struck. You know, it was a great, great segment. This is from troublemaker Toni, who really found some solace in that. In that piece we did. She writes, I had a mother who didn't want me or like me. When she said, I love you, it was like she was trying to convince herself I had made up a fairy tale for the benefit of others. The story about my childhood and a home life that I told so many times over the years that I started to believe it myself. This has been a season of truth. It's been painful, messy, beautiful, and scary. And it was so refreshing to see a real discussion about this subject. Thank you. Thank you, Tony, for sharing that. And there are a lot more of those of us out there who have a difficult time with a Mother's Day than you would suspect. So, again, this is why the Nerve exists. Loved your coverage of the Met Gala Team Nerve. It's refreshing to get the cultural criminal investigators lens on the absurdity of this event. Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez are to be thanked for bursting the bubble of one Anna Wintour. That's a great way to look at it. Now, the subject line of this email is the Nerve is shifting the culture. And this troublemaker cites an op ed that ran in the New York Times recently, which I read as well. It's an opinion piece. The title Rich People didn't look like this Before. And it cites models at Paris Fashion Week recently who walked in a Show Caricaturing the 1% by wearing prosthetics that resembled post op faces, including grotesque under eye bulges, skin pulled up from their temples and lips that appeared unnaturally inflated and stitched at the edges, for example. You know, certain people are mentioned as looking unnatural in the culture. Others are never mentioned as looking grotesquely unnatural. In fact, their plastic surgery is valorized. Look at Kris Jenner. Look at any of the Kardashians. You can't mention Demi Moore and her new set of teeth. I just can't see her the way she was prior to this as she was in, say, Ghost. Uh, this troublemaker goes on to say it is refreshing to speak the truth and exciting to see the impact that the Nerve and the Troublemakers shifting the cultural conversation as ever. And finally, this is from Patricia Keane, who is a frequent writer who emailed about something else and then said, oh, whoops, I forgot to attach a photo to yesterday's email, which we have to show because it is an email with a photo of her palm dozing off. And I love nothing more than palms doing anything except ransacking my place right now, which the new puppy Trouble is doing constantly. I cannot keep up with the guy. I cannot keep up with him. That said, please continue to keep up with us over here at the Nerve. Send us your feedback.
