Fuck ICE Take my advice and if you're lacking control and authority Come with me and hunt down minorities. Well, fuck ICE Fuck ICE.
Host 1 (UK Perspective)
So this is not fun?
Host 2 (Neurodivergent Experience Co-host)
No, not even close.
Host 1 (UK Perspective)
First of all, we'd like to give our condolences to the family of Renee Goode. And not just her, but all the people that have been hurt and families lives ruined by basically idiot right wing fascists in masks under the guise of a government agency. It is, it's been horrific to watch all year but there's been so many horrific things coming out of that administration and you know, being from the uk, you know, we can't see its day to day effect. We can, we can just, we just know about it from speaking to our American friends and seeing what we see on, on TV and, and on social media. But I think the, the most shocking thing about the death of a mother who just dropped off her six year old child in Minnesota is it's just, it's so cut and dry that it's just murder. And, and I cannot fathom, I, I cannot fathom how any, any mind and I know that the MAGA are cult, I get that, that they're brainwashed, they're a cult and they will believe they're cult leaders. But even at some point you have to have seen the video that clearly shows this woman driving to the right. The ICE agent was in front of her, moves to the side and then shoots her as she's moving to the right. And this is the thing by the way, and I wanted to mention this before we get into this, that no one else that I've seen has mentioned this, but not only does the ICE officer kill a woman point blank, like it's some sort of crazy action movie that he's living his weird fantasy in, but she obviously dies immediately. I'm sorry, like if, if that's triggering anyone, but that's what happened. He kills her, she dies. Then obviously her foot then slumps onto the accelerator and she rockets forward and then smashes into another car. What happens if there are people there? What happens if there's a kid there? What happens if there was a kid in that car? What happens if someone got, else got killed because of the reckless lunacy of a dangerous. Other people could have got massively injured. So like they, they, they can try and justify and spin this to domestic terrorism all they like, but at the end of the day, that ICE agent is the person who turned that car into a weapon because he killed the driver, who then, who then accelerated into another car. That's then a weapon. Her pulling away is not a weapon.
Host 2 (Neurodivergent Experience Co-host)
Right.
Host 1 (UK Perspective)
There was no way in a million years she could have hurt him and he shot her. And. Well, I think what, in America, this is blowing people's minds, but in the uk, for me, this super blows our minds because our police don't carry guns. No, they don't, they don't shoot people.
Host 2 (Neurodivergent Experience Co-host)
I've never even seen a real gun, a physical, real gun, let alone fired one.
Host 1 (UK Perspective)
And that's the uk and, and people in America like, how can you not carry guns? I'm like, because we don't need them.
Host 2 (Neurodivergent Experience Co-host)
Need them.
Host 1 (UK Perspective)
We don't need guns because no one else has guns. So without guns, you don't need guns to protect yourself from other people with guns. Like, get a clue. And, and I don't have to fear that when I go out for groceries that as I'm driving away somebody's going to shoot me.
Host 2 (Neurodivergent Experience Co-host)
It's my justice sensitivity has been through the roof on this. I just, it's baffling. And I have many friends that are American and many of them come from what would be called a minority background. And I've even got friends that are trans in the US that are absolutely terrified, absolutely terrified that they're just going to be driving to work or driving to the grocery store or going to the gym and somebody's just going to pick them up. And you know, man, it just, it frustrates the hell out of me that this is happening in a, in a country that is built on, on quote, unquote, freedom. Freedoms. Our freedoms. Protecting our freedoms. And after watching Band of Brothers over Christmas where American soldiers turned up to working camps that had been abandoned by people that had run them horrifically for years and had to witness people that were deemed undesirables or less than. How can this, how can this be happening in so blatantly.
Host 1 (UK Perspective)
Yeah, I, I, I think, I think it not only is what happened terrifying, but it, what, what is also terrifying is, is that it's, it's not unprecedented. Police shoot innocent people all the time in America.
Host 2 (Neurodivergent Experience Co-host)
Well, it was George Floyd happened in Minneapolis, didn't it? It's the Same, Same state.
Host 1 (UK Perspective)
So. But I think that the hugely terrifying, and I do mean terrifying thing is that the US Government have gone full Russia, North Korea, nothing to see here, people move along, nothing. That, that mum just, just got murdered by that man in a mask. And they're like, no, she's a terrorist. What? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Because we, because we told you. Do you know anything about that woman? Oh, no, we haven't investigated. We just watched a video and they didn't even watch multiple videos. They watched one video and then. And then immediately came out and went, yeah, yeah, domestic terrorist. She's. She's a lunatic. She tried to kill someone. And Trump's come out. He's like, oh, the guys. I don't know how he even survived it. Oh, I watched it, Donald. I watched it. He survived because he clearly moved out the way of a car that was slowly going to the right. He moved out the way, while at the same time having enough time to whip out a gun and murder someone. Three, three times he shot. So he had time to not get hit by a car, by the way. It's not like he even jumped. He just moved to the side and then shot her. I'm like. And then the government, the government of the United States of America came out and went, yeah, that was her fault. When it's clearly not. And it, it's not. It's not like someone coming out and saying, that's not an apple, that's an orange. It's like someone coming out and going, that's not an apple, that's a monster truck. Like, that's. It's not, it's not apples and oranges, it's apples and monster trucks. It's not even close to the truth. It's such a huge lie, such a bold face lie, and yet still MAGA mentals somehow still believe it. And I think. And obviously this is coming out like a week after. But, but this, this is fresh because we found out about this yesterday. We're recording today, and we found out about this yesterday. So it happened like a couple of days ago. As of recording, I, I don't see our government coming out and, and saying something's wrong. And, and I'm not, I'm not even going to go on about the fact that he literally just attacked Venezuela openly said, we are now taking their oil. He, he literally said, wasn't like, oh, we, we're attacking Venezuela, but we're going to pretend we're not stealing their oil, but we're actually going to steal their oil. He Literally came out and said, I'm stealing their oil. He's like, we're going to take this oil. And then fell asleep, and then fell asleep. But then also said we are now going to dictate what happens in Venezuela and we are going to, we are now in charge of Venezuela. So Trump took over another country, which is exactly what Russia was trying to do to Ukraine. But when Russia did it to Ukraine, the world went justifiably, the world went crazy. But when Trump did it, the conservative government leader, so the Conservative party leader, sorry, came and went, oh, it's wonderful, what a wonderful thing he's just done. And, and, and then, and they just like, everything's fine here. And then, and then came out and went, now I want Greenland, which by the way belongs to Denmark and it is not under a dictatorship.
Host 2 (Neurodivergent Experience Co-host)
So I don't know how NATO. So that's going to be funny. Crikey.
Host 1 (UK Perspective)
And he's also now threatening Mexico and threatening Cuba and threatening and, and, and, and doing it. And, and look, I'm not saying these, these countries don't have cartels. I'm not saying these countries aren't badly run. I'm not saying that these countries aren't corrupt, but so is America. The US is also badly run, corrupt and has a dictator. So America isn't saving the day. America is just stealing countries now. And, and it's like how, and, and I know this doesn't have anything to do neurodivergence, but we'll tie it in.
Host 2 (Neurodivergent Experience Co-host)
In a moment, I promise.
Host 1 (UK Perspective)
But it also does and well, we can tie in now. So now we've got that away. That, that is our neurodivergent sense of justice that we sit on the sidelines, we have no control over it yet it absolutely destroys us inside that we see this injustice all over the world, by the way, all over the world. And it's scary from a neurodivergent perspective because of what happened with that shooting and what's happened many, many times with shootings. If they can turn around and say this woman slowly driving her car away after dropping her six year old child off at school is justifiably shot, what happens? And we've seen what happens. What happens when a neurodivergent person has a meltdown and an ICE agent just goes, they're attacking me and fucking shoots them. And then the American government can come out and go, oh, and just make up whatever they want. So as far as I'm concerned, if I was in the US right now and I Wasn't wearing a MAGA hat. I might just go and put one on just to be safe, which is the craziest shit I've ever thought in my life, that I would pretend to be one of these pieces of shit just so I didn't get killed. And that just reminds me of Nazi Germany.
Host 2 (Neurodivergent Experience Co-host)
Yeah, it's the thing that scares me about this is it reminds me so much of a story that happened in April last year about a disabled Puerto Rican teen called Victor Perez who was killed in his front garden. He was having a meltdown. I don't know the entire details as to what prompted a state law officer to shoot this child dead, but he did. And it scares me, man. I'm not even in this country and I am scared for not just members of my community, but just human beings and all around the world. And it reminds me of. Of two quotes from popular media. You and I both love the. The TV show andor. And it reminds me very much of a quote where they're discussing the empire and the character says they have no shame, do they? They don't even bother to lie badly anymore. I suppose that's the final humiliation. And that's how this makes me feel. It reminds me of the very famous quote from George Orwell's 1984, which was written post World War II, where he said, the party told you to reject the evidence of your ears and eyes. It was their final, most essential command. And I feel like we are literally entering dystopia. Like we've got wars opening up across multiple fronts. We've got a fascist leading the quote, unquote, most free country in the world, where you can be stopped at a traffic stop and you can lose your life, that is not freedom. And as a neurodivergent person, where I think about walking the streets and being authentically myself and being true to myself or unmasking, at no point have I ever considered it may be a risk of my own life.
Host 1 (UK Perspective)
And that exactly like I, I know that the police in this country aren't. Aren't well trained with neurodivergence. I can't say every single one. I'm not saying that. But in. As general, they don't understand. So I, I definitely fear to a certain extent that I could be arrested or, or even imprisoned for something, you know, when I'm not. But I don't think I'm going to be shot and killed without having to at least tell my side of the story, you know, have someone say, look, he was having a meltdown Maybe. Maybe the worst is I get tased. Maybe that's the worst thing.
Host 2 (Neurodivergent Experience Co-host)
Or cuffed.
Host 1 (UK Perspective)
Or cuffed. Yeah. But I don't think I'm going to.
Host 2 (Neurodivergent Experience Co-host)
Be shot in the head or strangled to death. Or strangled to death in solitary confinement and forgotten about for months.
Host 1 (UK Perspective)
It's not the United States of America anymore. It's just the United States of Trump.
Host 2 (Neurodivergent Experience Co-host)
It's the United States of Amnesia, is what it is. We've got a country that's, you know, with the thing with Venezuela. Have they not learned from Afghanistan and Iraq? Have they not learned from Vietnam?
Host 1 (UK Perspective)
Well, no, what they learned is that those people went in and pretended stuff and then stole oil, whereas Trump literally makes a truth social post and says, I'm taking their oil. But the whole thing, if MAGA is America first and their idea of America first is steal other. Steal resources from other countries.
Host 2 (Neurodivergent Experience Co-host)
And I think they've enacted a law that's from, like, the 19th century, which was basically built to protect territories around the United States that were owned by the French and the British. We're talking, you know, the Caribbean and places like that, like Belize. And he's enacted a law that's nearly 200 years old to go. We will defend America from any aggressive states. And there's just the sort of hypocrisy over it. But there is sort of light at the end of the tunnel, my friend. But it's what it creates that worries me in that in the midterms, if the Democrats take back the Senate and Congress, but the Senate and the Congress, if the Democrats take hold of that and impeachment laws start, I worry about what's going to happen on the street simply because we've now got demonstrations happening as of last week, Houston, Cincinnati, Washington, D.C. philadelphia, just to name a few, where people are marching with placards calling for the abolition of ice. People have laid tributes, you know, this, this lady who has lost her life, and it's only a few blocks away from where George Floyd was murdered. And I really fear for this country. It's a country that I have many friends that live in. It's a country I've. I've spent time in and have enjoyed and have loved going to. I've loved. Every time I have visited America, I've always had a wonderful experience. I've met beautiful people with good hearts and good souls. And I fear, I fear for our cousins across the pond, my friend.
Host 1 (UK Perspective)
Yeah, I mean, I love the U.S. i mean, my, my, my favorite, one of my favorite things in the world. In fact, most of my favorite things in the world are from the U.S. yep, absolutely.
Host 2 (Neurodivergent Experience Co-host)
Like many, nearly all of my special interests are rooted in American culture.
Host 1 (UK Perspective)
All the cartoons I love.
Host 2 (Neurodivergent Experience Co-host)
All the.
Host 1 (UK Perspective)
Games I love are made in the US all the, the basketball that I love is from the US and, and it's like books, like, literally Stephen King is from the US and it's like I said, books. Like Stephen King's the only book.
Host 2 (Neurodivergent Experience Co-host)
For me.
Host 1 (UK Perspective)
He is the, he's a book person, he' only author that I absolutely am obsessed with. Like, he is my special interest. His work is my. And he, he comes out against this. And it's like all the movies and TV shows and the US Is such a freaking awesome country for what it can produce, but now the only thing it's producing is terror. So there are, There aren't these domestic terrorists. The domestic terrorists are now the government. They are the domestic terrorists. Because I saw this thing this morning that put it so perfectly, is that the only real terrorism isn't that the ICE agents are going to dangerous situations and making them better, apparently, it's, they're going into peaceful situations and making them dangerous. So isn't that what terrorism is?
Host 2 (Neurodivergent Experience Co-host)
Absolutely. It's a breach of the peace. And I've spent as somebody whose special interest is 20th century history, I've spent the Christmas break watching documentaries about the Vietnam War, and I rewatched Band of Brothers. And it's things that all help me regulate in dark months. And how far are we away from a president that turns to one of his advisors and goes the way to quell a protester to kill a few of them like Nixon did during the Vietnam protests? And how far away are we from intervention of other world's nations, having to step in on a dictatorship that's removing undesirables from society? It shocks me. I really don't think we're far away from people being hosed pipes down. It looks like we're about to hit the civil rights movement again in the US as it needs to. But I fear for our cousins across the pond that are going to try and stand up against this administration and all the power to them. But please be safe out there.
Host 1 (UK Perspective)
Yeah, safe out there. If, if you're an American listener, we know we have lots and our heart goes out to everyone who's suffering around the world. You know, because that's the thing is, is that there is war, there is tragedy all around the world. And, and I do feel it's, it's, it's, it's kind of unfair that everything is, is centralized around the US at the moment like the rest of the world is fine. It's only bad in the U.S. it's not that like that. It's, it's, it's the fact that the US is literally the most powerful country on earth. So that's the scariest thing is the fact that you are supposed to have this, like you said, this free country, this country that's meant to lead the way. And now they are now the bully. So it almost feels like, and I know the US government aren't superheroes. I get that they have done some very nefarious things. They're not good. But the American people, the US what they've given the world is, is so. There's so much joy. There's so much joy has come from the US and, and now it just, it's just so scary. And I, I just, and like we've said before, when the US sneezes, the rest of the world catches that cold. And that is just how it works. Because the whole point of the US is because they're so powerful. They are supposed to protect, they are supposed to help other countries and now they're taking over them and then they're shooting their own civilians in the street. This is a nightmare.
Host 2 (Neurodivergent Experience Co-host)
It's, it's, it's. And we'll finish with this as like a country that, you know, became a republic by breaking away from an empire. You've become the very thing you swore to destroy. You know, and it's, it's, it's so scary. And what even is like. And I'll try. Not that I can even end this on a light note, but the irony wasn't lost on me when I saw a clip on CNN News that was showing the city in Venezuela being bombed. And during the footage, an in play ad for Applebee's started playing going. And a little bit of chicken fried, cold beer on a Friday night, pair of jeans that fits just right and the radio up like wow, this, we literally are living in an episode of south park, aren't we? Can't wait to hear what they, they have to say about this. Dear well, everybody please take care of yourself. And like this is why I've had such a low energy week this week. I've read the news and I shouldn't, but you've got to be informed. You've got to be informed. You've got to protect yourself and know what, what the world's coming to and is up against. But you've also got to take care of yourself. So please do that. People that are listening to this be safe if you can. If you're in the us, take care of yourself and when you see atrocities and crimes and terrorism being committed on your home. So I'll call it out. Bless you. Our cousins across the pond, we're thinking of you over here. We will be back on Thursday with another episode of the neurodivergent Experience. Ashley will be back on Monday. I might have to have a session with Ashley after the the past couple of weeks with the world. She will be back with Mindful Monday. Start your week right with purpose and we will be back on Thursdays. Be kind out there. Be safe everyone.

On Global Impact:
“When the US sneezes, the rest of the world catches that cold.” – Host 1 (25:45)
Jordan and Simon mix deep empathy, biting satire, personal vulnerability, and dark humor. The tone oscillates between emotional frustration, world-weary exasperation, and sardonic commentary, all the while maintaining an undercurrent of solidarity with marginalized groups and an urgent call for awareness and action.
This episode of The Neurodivergent Experience stands as a powerful example of how neurodivergent perspectives bring unique depth and passion to social justice issues. Jordan and Simon offer listeners validation for their own outrage and fears, all while calling for collective resistance, self-care, vigilance, and compassion—especially for those marginalized by state violence.
