This is the One Piece podcast, episode 915 for April 20, 2026. My name is Zach.
C
And my name is Ed.
D
My name is Steve.
E
And my name is Alex.
B
Ed, I saw your knowing smile I feel like at the date today so happy.
E
4:20.
C
It's not episode 911 anymore.
B
On 4:20. That would be too much. That's just.
E
Hey, 4:20 is the day after we record.
B
It's the day after we record. But it's the day it comes out. We don't have to.
E
That's true.
B
You gotta keep.
C
Why we say it in the intro.
E
Shit.
B
Yeah.
E
Delaney, scrub that part.
B
Yes,
C
Ed.
E
I hope that today on 4.20 you got really high and went to go see Speed Racer in imax.
C
Ah, well, probably not. But it's good to be back on the show. I know I haven't been here in
E
a couple of weeks.
C
Kind of sad to Ms. Steven Storytime.
B
Well, everyone could listen to Steven's Storytime. It's available. We went through volume 114. It was a really fun one. But today we have special guest. He is not the translator for one piece, but he is TikTok sensation. We have Golfer Garer with us. How's it going, Golfer?
F
It's great. I could try and translate it just based off the pictures.
B
We're gonna ask you to.
C
That's kind of what the manga recap is.
B
Well, you're translating from English, but Yes. Yeah, you're right. Generally that's true. So today, Steve, how did you put it? What do we have to get? Like, what kind of mood do we have to get in for this one?
D
Like to record a podcast.
B
Yeah, but a podcast about Chapter 1180 Omen. What? Like Beast Mode. Beast. Okay, sure. Beast Mode.
C
Devil is everywhere.
D
Were you talking about a bit I did before we started recording where I had my lights off and.
B
Oh no, I wasn't doing a hilarious bit.
D
No, I wasn't doing it. That works so good in audio. Because when there's such a push for video podcasting these days, I refuse to be one of those people who talks about stuff that you can't hear, so. But do we have, like, any news?
B
Sorry, yeah, we have a few things,
D
not bits that happened before we started recording.
B
The one that happened today is there's an interview with Rees Alexiadis from the Savannah Bananas. I don't know if you also.
D
All of that five times fast.
B
I tried saying it once and I messed up. Anyway, he was interviewed about one piece. It's on Ann. You could check that out. I thought that was just cool to see. His whole shtick is like the super pose and he's got. And I know they've been doing a lot of one piece related things. So if you get a chance to read that interview, just mentioning it. Most of the news happened last week, which is actually why it was a 45 minute segment. Alex. It wasn't just Popeyes. We had a new opening, a new ending, a bunch of opal stuff happened, including the new title and the season release date. So you could check all of our discussion about that there. But before we get started, I want to mention our Patreon. We have a new sticker of the month vote this month, Steve, for our patrons.
D
I guess this is a good place to announce what's going to happen here. So it ended in a tie and I did not interfere. So this.
E
He is the watcher. He has sworn not to interfere.
D
The Watcher?
B
Yeah.
D
Don't you see my big, giant bald head? It's for watching, not for thinking.
B
That's right.
D
It's for watching, not for action.
C
Like the observers from Fringe.
B
Wow. The watch. I don't know Fringe. I know Fringe and that's all I know. Go ahead.
D
So here's what I'm gonna do. Since it was even and it seemed like people like both designs, we'll do both over the span of two months. So we're just going to. There's not going to be a poll for the month of May. It's going to be these next two designs will be the stickers for April and May.
B
That's what happens when you end in a tie. Everyone loses and you get both the things you want. I guess entitlement Good. That's what it is. That's what it is. It's entitlement. So I was just.
D
I. Because I thought like, I. I'm too biased to kind of cast a vote. Lego Nami and Luffy giving a hoot about a book. So I'll touch those up. I'll just do both on this episode
B
of the One Piece podcast we're going through. Oh, by the way, subscribe to us@patreon.com One Piece podcast. $5 a month gets you most things. $12 a month gets you the stickers for the next two months, Steve.
D
Yeah. So yeah, as long as you're a $12 member, you will get those stickers.
B
There you go.
D
And hopefully people like the idea of just getting both.
B
I think so.
D
If not, I'll never do that again and I'll just cast a vote. Because I've never cast my vote in a poll. Shouldn't be up to me.
B
That's good.
C
Steve has never voted in his life.
F
We just doing this now.
D
It's actually pretty cool, actually. The foreshortening on my camera. You can't tell because this is an audio podcast.
E
Hey, I'm Italian. This is fun.
B
Yeah. Today on the One Piece podcast, we have our manga recap for chapter 1180 entitled Omen. So why don't we get straight into it now?

This is the manga recap for chapter 1180, omen. Oh man, this chapter is gonna be good. This is available at shonen, jump, viz.com or mangaplus. Shoisha Co JP you can read this same day it comes out. It's available worldwide. It's free. You all know it's translated by Stephen Paul, whom I've heard of and is occasionally on the show as a special guest. Anyway, Ed, do you want to do our cover page and let us know what's going on?
C
Shirley, first talk about Oda's author comment
B
this week we need to y true.
C
Oda went to a concert. He says, how loved do you have to be to have a performance like that? Arashi's last tour was unbelievable, which is cool.
F
Good for.
C
I mean, doesn't remember that creepy music video they did. Collaboration. They did with One Piece.
D
Is that the color spread where he drew all them and they just look like.
B
Yeah, they.
D
They look like, bad, like Rankin Bass, Stop Motion.
C
Y' all have weird giant rictus grins.
B
You know, not to go off on my own tangent, Steve, but the. I was looking for, like, I thought little oars. JR's digits got cut off in that, but it was just his foot. So while I was looking through that, I was looking at the pictures of Sakazuki in those and. God, he looks like that. It is that exact kind of. He just looks like he's out of a different place.
D
A realistic depiction of a man.
B
Yeah.
C
2020. And that was for the 20th anniversary of the band and of One Piece.
B
That's the worst thing to happen in 2020.
E
Yes.
C
So you're like.
D
You're saying. So you're saying Akainu looks like a boardwalk caricature.
B
Yes. And if you go back to Marineford now, like, and just, like. Just go to, like, the first chapters, he, like, shows up prominently. And look at his face and you're like, this looks like a little bit like a boardwalk caricature.
C
So Rajalino, biggest J Pop boy, end of the 2000s. Really. The last generation. They were never. I don't think they were ever as big as, like, SMAP was domestically in Japan and definitely not as big worldwide as bts, but they were big.
B
And it's. It's crazy that Sakazuki looked like that. Steve. I think. Sorry.
D
So it was like. So is Oda going to these Arashi concerts? Like, it's like. Like he's going to see the Doobie Brothers or something.
E
Well, this is the. I guess it's the final tour. Or was he talking about the last tour? Like, oh, man, like a year ago? I think it is.
C
Yeah, I think it is that the band is ending. So this is their Kiss Farewell tour.
B
I was gonna say. Does this mean anything?
C
It's a Kiss Farewell tour. Means they're never going away.
B
Yeah.
E
Yeah. It basically means they're just gonna replace Paul and Chris or Peter. Chris.
B
Ed, what's going on? On the COVID page.
C
Yes. Here we go. Vegapunk modifying Zeus to rain candy instead of water by honey liquor. And Calper is so happy.
B
Yes.
D
It's raining again.
B
There it is. That was the Simpsons reference golfer. I know. I don't want to leave. I'm sorry. Don't I Under the age of 35. I apologize.
E
The two things my boy and that's the most. I think that's what most kids these days know. The Marge voice from. Right.
C
So I was informed by my brother in law that my nephew, the one who likes one piece, is also going to start watching the Simpsons.
E
Wow. Did he start listening to the podcast or something?
B
Uh. Oh, Ed, watch out. Yeah. What do you guys think of this cover page?
E
Jeez.
B
I mean, happy for Chopper. Is that what that's supposed to.
E
This is all well and good, but look, look. Zeus Elbaf is still on fire. You gotta go finish your job.
C
So is there like a smokestack pumping like candy into Zeus?
B
Sure, yeah.
C
In the right there.
E
What if it's like that can't be
D
good for the polar ice caps?
E
Just pumping Yellow five and Red number two and all of our favorites into Zeus.
D
I mean, we have Mr. The world is Sinking Himself on the COVID page. So I feel like it's appropriate.
E
That's like pitbull, right?
B
He's Mr. Is that an M and Mr. On on one of those. Or it could be an E or
F
W. I feel like it'd be an E from that.
C
Or is that a Dreamcast candy with a spiral on it?
E
An E for.
B
No, that's a narrow relativity with a spiral on it. Or Sanji candy with a spiral on it. Future sbs. Questions? Yeah, this is fine.
D
Is Nami eating candy dots?
E
Yeah, looks like.
B
I thought that was the wrapper. I just thought that was the wrapper.
D
Yeah, okay.
B
Because there's other ones.
D
Worst candy. Come on.
E
I'm. Is it just me or is the perspective all weird on this?
B
It is, but it's so he didn't have to draw the top third of the panel because.
E
No, I mean, like, it's just. This isn't making.
D
No, doesn't line up because Vegapunk is like very tall.
E
Yeah, it's very weird.
B
Yes, but in this fantasy, Chopper's extra tall because of all the candy he's been eating.
E
Oh. Oh.
B
See what I mean?
E
They're like the Vega punk. The Vegapunk candy that made it.
C
I gotta say one thing I continue to like about Zeus. Where's that beanie hat? Like you should have a propeller on it. Like the guy from Animal House.
F
Does Nami's hand look super janky? You pointed out that she's holding candy dots or looking like it. But that. That looks really weird.
B
It kind of looks like big news. Morgan's beak.
C
It's kind of a claw.
B
Do you know what I mean? Yeah.
F
Her hand's like this.
C
Her right Hand looks like a claw,
D
but she's got, like, a Buster Bluth claw.
B
Gonna be honest, not one of my favorites. I have no real opinion about it,
E
but I just noticed that about Arrested Development.
B
No, the COVID I love Arrested Development.
E
It's really funny when season three, ODA draws. Season three is good, when ODA draws everything. Sure, sure, sure. ODA basically did everything on this one except for, very clearly, the. The little flowers on. On the left and the right, and the little.
D
Oh, Nami's missing her tattoo.
B
Unless that's.
E
Oh, my God.
B
Wait, isn't it. It's not her right. God, it's her left. Yeah, I don't know.
E
Yeah, no, that's. Yeah, she should be. That should be a tattoo.
B
Well, in this fantasy world, this is. It's like the alternate dimension in the Simpsons. It's. She never had to go through that because it's been raining candy. Which really solves everyone's issues. Except the polar ice caps.
E
Let's get into the chat on this. Yeah,
B
yeah, okay. Let's go back to whatever the hell else we were talking. Okay, Alex.
E
All right. Anyway, on this chapter of Naruto, I mean, One Piece, we see he looks like a Naruto villain. Look at him. Look at this fucker. So we'll get there.
D
And he lives within the spine of the book.
E
He dies.
D
The most darkest part of the book. The darkest part of the book is right.
E
That is truly hell. So we kind of pick up where he left.
D
He crawls out of there like just a little gremlin.
C
He's just sitting on top of the castle like that.
E
Don't feed him after midnight. So. Yeah, he's not sitting.
B
He's standing, I think.
E
Yeah. No, he's doing the little pose that we saw at the end of last chapter.
C
That's so unwholesome.
E
Like flying a kite at night. Yeah. So we have a.
B
Sorry, that's a funny image for this camera.
E
We've got a. We've got a view of Elaf from sort of his point of view, sort of where we left him last chapter. And Elaf's, you know. You know, the sounds of hell, the
B
drums of subjugation, I think is how it is.
E
Yes, it's very fun. Drums of subjugation. I. I do enjoy that. And I know I. I listened to that part of the episode, and we see the houses dancing and going, rah, rah, rah. He boofs out of there, Just sort of disappears from the steeple. Stinson and Harridan are kind of on their guard. And he shows up. He. Emu shows up in the middle of one of the villages here. And he says, who is the king of this land? And here he is. We. We see him in a double page spread, which is gonna look like shit in the book. We've.
B
It looks good here. I'll. I'll say right now, here it looks
E
good because it's a. Yeah, yeah, he's
C
right in the gutter there.
B
Yeah, no, the gutter. Well, I guess it is the gutter. Yeah, you're right.
E
So now we. Now we have a full sort of
D
out of the gutter and onto the iron throne.
E
Wow. It's pretty good. So here we are.
D
Here we are, Rich's story here.
E
Well, speaking of rags, he's wearing. Wearing some here we've got. We've got our full. Full ass picture of Imu here. Tip to tail, full ass. So we're pretty much. Pretty much exactly sort of how we described him in his first appearance. I think now we can sort of
B
see a little bit more.
E
Yeah, we can see the cloak he's wearing. You can see his pants are a little more. You can see what. What's happening with his lower body.
C
Got a weird demon skull hanging off of his pants.
E
He's got three demon skulls hanging off his pants, which is kind of interesting. One's sort of covering. Yeah, they've all been lobotomized or at
B
least had their seemingly.
E
Yeah, there's seams on their foreheads there.
C
So continuing with the recap here, but is that Brookie there doing the Bart Simpson? I'm Bart Simpson. Who the hell are you?
E
A little bit. So, yeah, yeah, basically Brogy and Dory are. Doth protest too much here. Brogi says, and who do you think you are? This land has no king, says Dory. And Emu's eyes train directly on Summers, who is being held up by Gerd, who is saying, great one. And we go to the next page.
C
Kind of squishing his head like kids
E
in the hall a little bit crushing your golfer.
F
And then we see Summers falling out of Gerd's hands after her forefinger and thumb have been cut off, or pointer finger, if you call it that. And he's falling to the ground as the last digits of her fingers on both hands are falling to the ground.
E
And then he's got like this jagged
C
bladed pole arm thing.
F
Yes. And he says to some. Or Emu says to Summers, what art thou doing, Summers? Gerd finally realizes that her fingers have been cut off. And then we see High. Rudin say, gerd Zorro
C
talking like it's the King James Bible all the time.
F
Yeah, it is fun. It's a nice little note. We see Summers falling on the ground, still separated from his top half and his bottom half and the fingers falling on top of him. And there seems to be a big scramble between all the different characters we see. And we see Kya. And someone yells out, gerd's fingers. Someone yells out, bastard.
C
She's the Doctor, isn't she?
F
She needs those. Thankfully, she has the man in the next panel, Chopper, who says, how gruesome. Who is that guy? And then we see Zoro square up with Emu. And then Summers grabs his heart that's still beating and says, woo. Got it. And then Zorro asks, are you in the Knights of God too? He locks eyes with Emu. And then Hyrudin goes to throw a punch from over top, says, either way, he's an enemy. We hear someone yell, hi, Rudin. Stonson says, stay back, Hyrudin. And then we see Emu's eyes again.
B
Ed.
E
Yeah.
C
And Stanson comes in to basically knock Hiredin's fist away so that I guess Emu won't retaliate against him and slice parts of him off too. And quite rightly points out we don't know what he can do to hire it in, which is accurate. How I also feel about Emu don't really know. He grits his teeth, but as he's going in for this kick on to sort of knock Hired out of the way, his foot comes off. I guess that's Hired in with the shocked look on his face. And Chopper is like, ah. And I guess this is. I'm not sure who's saying this, but they're saying, stay away from him. And I guess that was.
B
I think that's. Yeah.
C
Says, I'm sorry, Stanson. And is this brogy now saying, yeah, who is that? And so Zorro with his goggles on, no bandana though, says King of Hell. Three Sword Serpent, Purgatory, Onigiri. And yeah, we can see that where he starts that he has the third sword in his mouth and he attacks and looks like he was fending it off with his bladed weapon or whatever that is.
B
I believe that's his tail.
E
Tail.
B
Yeah, the arrow.
E
Arrow, right.
B
Because it's sticking out. Sticking out of his backside the rest of the time.
C
And then we see Imu opens his hand and a little flame lights in there and he says, omen. And there's a cha Ching. Not Sure. What that's supposed to be? Is it the sound of the flames?
B
Yeah. I do want to talk about the sound effects from Emu. We could talk about at the end, but. Yeah, there's some interesting ones. Zorro is flung back, apparently, perhaps hit. I would assume Chopper legitimately shocked here, pupils and irises looking less there as he yells, Zorro. Emu notices something about to happen and is hired and coming in from above with his ax. And I'm sure this will work, but oh, no. Emu does the similar move, if not the same move, and out comes a chomp. A chain. Chomp, chomp, chomp. I don't know what to call this little guy, but some sort of devil horned, misty looking thing comes out of his. Out of the thing in his. How do you describe the. The circle thing that you use to, like, punch people when they're not looking? Or was it when they look down?
E
Oh, I. I didn't know the thing had a name. I don't know if it had a name.
B
Yeah, that's the circle where you make
E
people look down at the ground and you make a little circle with your fingers.
B
And then if you have a name, that thing.
E
Hertz Donut, maybe. Is that. What. Is it tied to the Hertz donut?
B
Oh.
E
Or is Hertz Donut literally just asking somebody if they want a Hertz Donut,
B
something a bully would do? And Emu seems to fit that description.
D
So the legendary Hertz Donut.
B
That's. That's the. That's what it is.
D
As. As the Harley foretold.
E
That's right. And Roger Klotzes on the mural.
B
You're asking a lot there in the second Age.
E
Funny, someone was real hungry and asked
B
for a Hertz donut and he is engulfed in flames. Perhaps some sort of explosion.
C
Looks like there's hockey bolts.
B
Yeah, there are hockey bolts. And also whatever. This like, dark flame smoke kind of thing that's been permeated.
C
Chapter hired and spits up blood.
B
Yeah, or hockey. No, he spits out blood as he falls to the ground. And Zorro also on the ground. You could tell because of his stupid goggles and. Oh, yeah, the swords too, I guess. And it says. Damn it, deal with.
E
What's the deal with Zorro here? I'm having trouble. Like, is he holding his arm?
B
No, he fell. He got. He got kicked back and he's on the ground. Yeah, but what's all the black stuff? Oh, yeah, he's. He's. Yeah, I think it is. That's where he got. I think he gets. You could kind of see in the top right of page eight, he gets hit in the shoulder.
C
You can see the blood flying off of Zoro on.
B
Yeah, in the shoulder. It looks like maybe.
E
What's really kirking me out here is that he clearly has all three of his swords out when he gets hit, but all three of them are sheathed now.
B
Yeah, they're magic swords. They do that. It's true.
E
They are magic.
B
They are. To be fair. They are magic.
E
A wizard did it.
B
A wizard. Oh, and if it's an sbs, some guy, crudely drawn guy, will come in and place them back in the sheets if they fall out. I hope, anyway. Yeah. You see hired in fall. You see Zorro grimacing there. And meanwhile, Emu doing a slightly different technique, I believe, making a flame Frisbee.
C
It looks like.
B
I believe this is just. Yeah, or like a Hertz donut. Donut ruined the whole thing.
E
It's a novelty. No, don't say Frisbee. It's novelty flying disc. We don't want to get this.
B
True. Yes. You don't want to. Yeah. And so Emu is putting that together. I'm assuming this is someone in the peanut gallery asking, what are these black flames? Because I assume Summers would kind of know, as he demonstrates here as those black flames slowly head towards Summers menacingly. And that's because it is Omen, Alex.
E
Like the movie.
B
Like the movie, yeah. Next is the ring.
E
I did it all for you, Damien. Let's see. So here we are with. With Emu, and he's standing amidst all this rubble, and he says, make haste, Summers. There is little time. I'm having a fun time with this one. And Summers is kneeling, and he's got that little black flame halo, this Omen, around him, and he goes, yes, great one. And they both jump off in sort of opposite directions here into the sky.
C
I don't know if you mentioned this on the previous page, where he's like, ah, yes, Omen.
E
Yeah. Yeah. You know, the thing we're supposed to know, you know, we're supposed to know this thing clearly.
C
So that's kind of my biggest problem with Emu is at this point is that we don't really know, I'm sure, what his powers are, but, like. Yeah, so one of those, like, where, you know, if it bleeds, we can kill it, but we don't really know.
E
I don't know if he bleeds. So as Imu exits the vicinity, the houses that were sort of possessed, the dororon and all the spooky sound effects, sort of. They revert back to the way they used to be. And we hear Chopper say, zoro, get inside. Everyone else, gather up the injured and the knocked out kids. And Jarl has a look that I can't really explain with this word balloon here. This ellipses. Like maybe he's seen this thing before.
B
Perturbed. Yeah, he might have. Yeah, like that. That's a good point. Yeah, because it's not. It's not shock at all. That's an interesting point, Alex. Yeah. I wonder. He's been around 408 years. It's possible.
E
Yeah. This is something he might have seen before.
C
He's got a long face, basically.
B
Well, the swords too.
E
So we hear over the loudspeaker warning to all of Elbaf. Some kind of being greater than the Knights of God has landed on the island. Be on guard. Guard your ears with gormans. And with a voo. Here comes Imu flying with black wings. Yes, a pair of gigantic black wings. Very similar.
C
Some sort of Lunarian like.
E
Well, but not quite. These are a little more detailed, I think. Yeah, he's just sort of flying with these pair of. This big, big old pair of black wings and just going. And back in the village. Or one of. I guess this is a gimmick.
C
Like Pride from Full Metal Alchemist is creepy.
E
Yes. Yes, it is. I guess this is a montage of all the villages that have heard this. I think that's the. The Brewers Village down there. Given by the giant barrel. We hear what's here now. You mean it's not over? Keep your weapons on you. We've had enough of the fires and the collapses. That guy kind of looks like Hack. By the way, Jinbe's best friend.
B
Oh no, that's Brookie's best friend's best friend, Zack.
E
Zach. Yes.
F
Wow.
E
But spelled with a ck, so.
B
Oh, yeah. No, I don't want to associate with that.
E
Naturally. Anyway, next page. Whoever's got that golfer.
F
And then we see Emu looks over as he's flying overhead. Sees Gerd in the block of ice.
C
I don't know why. Imu looks filled with ennui there with his sort of frowny face.
F
Disappointment maybe. Flips over his staff and points the bottom of it at the block of ice. And then shoots out a little, I don't know, flame goblin looking dude. And then explodes the block of ice and makes no attempt to stop for Gunko and completely moves on as the block of ice explodes. And then we see Team Gabon by the lift. Sun world. And then we see Gabon say, what's going on? Even at God Valley, I never felt hockey like this. And then at the Walrus School, with flames still raging, it says, you. You chart it. Beggars can't be choosers. Is better than being frozen. And we see the gang is all eating food together. It's Loki, Luffy.
C
Oh, is that Luffy about the food? The food got burned?
F
I think so, because I think that's him expressing down in the bottom right
B
of the panel, I guess. How did they get it on fire? That's the. Or did just a random fire head their way?
F
Maybe he lightning. He electrocuted it?
B
Yeah, it must have been because it says you charred it. Like you overcooked it. But okay, I guess we'll deal with this.
F
And then Loki says, now stockpile your energy. I think we've got a real monster on the island now. And then Luffy says, hot. And then the squirrel dude is eating. And then we see. We cut over to Jinbe Usopp Brook. And then we see Nami running towards them saying, hey, what's happening? Jimbe says, I don't know, but the hockey is tremendous if it's an ally of the Knights of God. On to the next one.
B
That's steep.
D
Frankie and Jimbe turn to the camera, and Jimmy says they might be after. But before he could even finish that, we hear a huh? As well. We're just like. We're just darting around all over the place. We're getting breakup panels here. As we see, killing him here is free to. Well, he's freed from at least his containment from the straw hats as he expresses his love for the Great One. Thanks for the Omen. Thanks. Thank you, Great One. An omen. Just what I always wanted. And Sanji's like, hey, who's that? As.
C
I guess it's called Omen because it's shaped like an O.
D
Very creative. We get this wide shot here of Imu, like, arriving. He's surrounded by, like, a ring of black flames and lightning. And I believe this is Jinbe saying, he's dangerous. Sanji, which were they all together? Because, like, I don't. Oh, yeah. Sanji's off to the right here in that wide shot here. God, there's a lot of. There's a lot of panels with little microscopic drawings. This week, Masanji says, who said you could release him as he goes in for, you know, a diab diablo Jambe like, kick here. That emu here blocks. And this is kind of when I realized, like, the Scale of Emu here, because he is huge compared to Sanji here.
C
And I want to see him stand next to Loki now.
D
Well, you might get your wish.
B
You might get your wish.
D
So that attack is to no avail. And it's a. It's an interesting set of panels here, so I'm guessing Imu blocks it with his right foot and then he brings up his Oda. I don't get your action right here. Because it's. Sanji kicks. It is blocked.
B
As someone who's done. Oh, well, yeah, you're right. It looks like the. It looks like his left foot. Oh, no. Yeah, that's. I'm. Oh, no, wait, it's his foot. And then.
D
Oh, no, I think he's blocking with his. With his left foot. Then he's. Then he's bending his left leg as his right leg comes in.
B
No, no. Yeah, you're right, you're right, you're right. Sorry. I was trying to, like, use my Taekwondo past to figure out how he was doing this.
D
If you weren't a co host, what would we describe you as? Taekwondo.
B
What?
D
Aficionado. Sorry.
B
Whatever. Go ahead.
D
It's like, because you're not a TikTok.
B
No, I'm definitely not beloved.
D
I forget what you call sensation.
B
Sensation. You're looking for the word sensation.
C
Taekwondo.
D
Enthusiastic.
C
Zach Logan.
B
Okay, what's the last. I put it on the last page.
D
Your kids. Taekwondo teacher, Zach Logan. And we hear Sanji. No, it's a big explosion happens, which I'm not really fearful for because Zorro looks totally fine, so. And Jim BAE here can just cannot understand what are these black flames? As we see a big boot stomp into the ground in the foreground here that makes Imu here look tiny. And we hear, hey, what do you want with Elbaf? And we get Imu here saying, search for the killer of my faithful herald who was slain here 14 years past. Sorry, I won't give him such a lame voice.
E
No, no, I like that better.
B
I like.
D
I search for the. I have lots and lots of powers and. No, I use my omen. So it doesn't work on you, as your attack doesn't work on me. See, I'm a literal devil, so that gives me, like, like 100,000 hit points times infinity.
B
You're saying the ultimate villain in one piece is a power scaler.
D
Is an oc.
B
It's an OC power scalar.
D
But he's searching for the killer of his faithful servant Harald. And we hear a rebuttal here, saying he was not Your servant Harald was my father, the King of Elbaf. And I'm the man you're looking for. As the best panel in the whole chapter here is. We got Imu in the foreground here. And you could tell how he's a big boy. He ain't as big as Loki.
C
Here he's at the top of Loki's boot.
D
I, I no, I think he's even shorter than that.
C
Yeah.
D
But like Loki here is shrouded in heavy black shadows. Lightning strikes behind him. He's got his big hammer over his shoulder here. And Imu says, I see. If not for thee, all this trouble would be avoided. And Loki says, here in the real world, you deal with me and Elbaf, you mess with Loki, you mess with Elbaf, you mess with Loki, you mess with all of us.
C
Steve, this next line is for you.
D
I really hope that we see a giant wearing a big Mets cap.
E
I know.
D
And sneering here. Loki says, remember that clown?
E
Clown?
D
As Imu's only retort is to stare. And that's where this chapter ends.
B
He is very good at staring. That's kind of the thing.
C
The Naruto eyes or the. Which character was that from Naruto?
E
All of them.
B
All of them.
F
Yeah, he's got the Rinnegan.
B
Yeah, that's it.
C
That's what I was thinking of.
B
Yeah, whichever. That does it for the chapter. There is a one piece chapter next week. I've, I forgot. Golden Week is the following week, so that'll do it for the chapter. Thoughts, Golfer? You could start.
F
I mean, it was pretty fun to see Emu walk around and absolutely smoke people left and right.
C
His power is maximum.
F
Yeah. It's about as powerful as you want the leader of the entire world to be. And possibly the final villain in all of one piece. Yeah, just absolutely smoking people. I, I keep running into this thing where I can't. Why are they putting just black lines behind every picture? And I've noticed it a lot in this chapter because there's a couple times where they don't. And it looks so much better.
C
The dashboard is hard to follow. I think we mentioned that a couple of times.
F
Yeah. When I read a hard time reading
C
this in my phone. That happens every week, though.
F
Yeah. This whole arc has had a whole lot of stuff going on. Every single panel. And having a couple of panels where there's some room to breathe actually looks really, really good. And then we immediately go back to black lines or covering the entire background.
B
Do you mean speed lines?
D
Yeah.
B
Okay.
D
Speed Lines.
F
But, like, it's just. It's every page, like. And it kind of. I feel like it loses its juice. Like when Stonison's kicking high. Rude. And like, what. What's the point of having every single inch of that behind them filled in? Because that's not implying Emu speed at all. That's the stuff coming from below. At least how I feel about it. Like, everything in the background just feels unnecessary.
B
I defer to Steve Alex on that. But. Yeah, we could talk about that later.
F
Yeah, yeah. They're artists. I'm just talking about, like, you know.
B
Yeah,
F
but Emu's terrifying. And it's really cool to see Loki standing above him and just talking to the leader of the entire world.
B
Any other.
C
This is why Luffy has to fight Emu. Because Emu is the sort of the. Yeah, he's too cool. Like an oc. Like, he's. His power is too much, and he's dressed too nice. And like, he looks too cool. So he had to fight him with ridiculousness. And that's why Luffy's got the powers he has.
B
I think Luffy's dressed pretty nice right now, if I do say so myself. Golfer, Any other thoughts?
E
No.
F
We could probably get into it in the discussion. I mean, there's. I feel like we're getting crumbs to kind of theorize on. On where Emu's power comes from.
B
Yeah, I'm sure we'll get.
C
Well, who created the devil fruit? Devil fruits? Was it the devil? And if he created the devil fruits, then who created the devil's fruit?
B
These are questions I asked. The chicken or the egg? Kind of. Add your thoughts on the chapter.
C
Oh, yeah. Despite my ongoing problems with reading it, sometimes with the action, it's not very clear. And that's been going on for well over a year. Probably since I came back after my absence. I've been having trouble, like, since the beginning of Elbaf with reading the chapters, but sad to see Zorro and Sanji just sort of get taken out like this. I mean, they're not dead, obviously, but you think they would. I don't know. I feel like Zoro can put on his bandana and think of something and try something against Emu, but not really sure what he thinks he can do, what he was try, or what he thought he was going to do with that Onigiri cut him. Like, really. But yeah, that's my boy. And he's not up to this task. He's not the main character of this story.
B
Any other Thoughts on.
C
Yeah, want to see a Luffy versus Emu one on one now with the. Their sort of contrasting powers, It does make sense for Emu to be like this sort of almost too cool of a character. Too cool of a design. Like something almost like a fanfic character. But the. The.
B
The.
C
The. The. The ultimate villain should be this sort of extreme kind of character. So I do kind of like that. But I. I am more excited for him and Luffy to square off, But I am, yeah, more excited for that than anything else. Not sure where or what could directly lead into the next chapter, but I don't know. I don't have much else to say right now.
B
Steve, thoughts?
D
You know, this is a good showcase chapter for Emu here. You know, he definitely had to, you know, hop into action here and kind of show how fearsome he could be. Now that I've seen more than just two drawings of him, you know, design is kind of warming up to it. It still feels so different. Like this does. It reeks of final boss of a video game. So maybe, you know, maybe it is appropriate.
C
Super tryhard evil badass kind of like that.
D
But put like a Roth at the end there or something. He feels very like. Ever since Alex brought up Black Winged Angel.
B
Okay.
D
Ever since Alex brought up the interview with what's his name, the Final Fantasy artist, Amano. Yeah, that's been stuck in my head. Anytime someone asked me about the emu design, I was like, well, he is like. Oda is a huge fan of Amano here. So I feel like this is what this character is paying tribute to. So I think that's kind of why, you know, I'm not hating on it too much. Not that it doesn't resonate with me, but I can't help but think it's like, oh, this is like. He feels so out of place. I'm like, well, I guess he's kind of supposed to be not of this world and very final boss.
C
So I kind of want him to start monologuing so Luffy can give his sort of statement of ideals against him.
D
Luffy's not one for speeches.
B
I just want.
D
I don't know if I want to. I don't want to put a. I don't want to see a freaking debate between these two be a terrible. What is Emu gonna just be like, you guys said you weren't gonna fact check in terms of like the action here. Like, it's. And this is like the limb loss arc, you know, so many. So many giants are Getting legs and arms and fingers cut off here. It's happening so much that it's almost. I wouldn't say it's borderline comical. It is still kind of eerie. I really feel bad for Gerd here. It's almost like. It's almost worse that she lost the tips of, like, her index fingers and her thumbs over, like, just losing a hand. I feel like.
C
Yeah, it's like the Doctor's hands get messed up, you know, like Dr. Strange in the Marvel.
E
Yeah. Well, the thing about figures is that you can save a finger. Yeah, you can save a finger. That's.
D
Yeah, put it on. That's why he took it easy.
F
I got a faith Chopper can do it.
E
Now, I'm not sure about the Stanton's
C
foot, but
D
put that in a cold glass of milk, maybe. But we see stuff like that happens, and then Zoro and Sanji jump in, and then they have plot armor, so they just get chewed away. So it kind of. It takes the tension away a little bit. Not that I'm like, oh, man, they should have cut off Zorro's fingers. But, yeah, why did they can't show me that. You can't show me that. And then, like, freaking emu does like some sort of Sonya Blade blow kiss thing at Zorro here.
E
So blow them kisses.
D
So it's just a little like, I don't feel the tension. Like, I don't feel like the straw hats are in any danger. The giants are there to just eat, you know. Limb lossing blows here. I will say there are some microscopic panels in this chapter that were tough to read. And mainly on page 13 here with Luffy and Loki, which I take they're at the Walrus School. But that first panel, if you didn't have that descriptor there that said this was the school, I would have no idea what the hell I'm looking at.
E
Yeah. What the fuck is going on? I guess that's the outside of the school. Like on the veranda.
B
Yes. Yeah, I can tell. I see what you mean, though. Absolutely.
D
Yeah.
B
It's on fire. To be fair.
E
It's like when I drew. It's like when I drew comics when I was in sixth grade. Like, here's the thing that this is what it looks like in my head, but it's not gonna look like anything perceivable to the naked eye. Just in general. I don't know. It's not very well staged.
B
Yeah. I'm just curious, I think is the problem. Yeah, sorry, go ahead.
D
I'm just curious. What's gonna happen now that Loki showed up, is he gonna get reverse eat here?
C
Mm.
D
Is that still a threatening thing that could happen?
E
I don't know. Here's what happened. Sorry. I'm looking at that walrus gold pana. It looks like there's fire, like. Like a big burst of fire coming out of it, like. Like a dragon just breathed. Okay. I. I didn't know what the fuck was happening there. I was like, is that just a flame on? Is the veranda on fire now?
F
I feel like a draft came through the front door.
B
Yeah, yeah, it foamed out.
D
Yeah.
B
I mean, obviously, Loki did something to start that fire.
E
He farted, likely. We don't know what happens when Loki farts. It could just be that.
B
Yeah, yeah.
F
He's a big guy.
D
It's the same out of both ends.
E
Farts, lightning, craps, thunder.
D
Yeah. But other than that. Yeah, this was kind of just like. This is Emu's big day out, so we had to see what he's doing.
B
Mm.
D
I. Yeah, I enjoyed a little bit of that. But I. Like I said, like, I didn't feel too much tension here because especially after Brogy lost, like, an arm, and I guess he has it back now.
B
He still doesn't have it. He's been using his.
E
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
D
He's had a shield on. That's right.
B
Yeah. I don't know.
D
I think I'm getting desensitized. The limb loss, that might be what it is. It's been done. What else you got?
B
Yeah, we had. So there was lots of limb loss there. We don't need anything else.
D
Emu's like, well, I could make all the buildings all creepy and laugh. I'm like, yeah, saw that in Whole Cake Island. Well, she got.
B
Well, okay.
D
Well, see, funny thing got to go.
B
You could set the building on fire and he did. Anything else, Steve, let's see what happens. Yeah.
D
Just eager to see more because I feel like this was just, like, a little taste here. So can't wait to see how bad things are going to get.
B
Alex, your thoughts?
E
Yeah. Okay, so pretty much what people have been saying. People have been saying this. It's been a very good chapter as far as showcasing what this fella can do. Oh, boy. I couldn't. I just couldn't stop thinking about grid's fingers all fucking day. It's. It's, like, cruel almost, but also like, oh, shit. Like, the. Her not immediately not noticing her fingers just been cut off is like, such a. Like, it's such a thing. It's like, unbelievable. Almost Stanton losing a foot. I mean, yeah, I. I sort of. I wouldn't say I'm quite desensitized to the limb loss yet. I think it just goes to show you, like, hey, these are giants. They're a force to be reckoned with. And like, it doesn't even look like Imu's doing anything. He just sort of thinks about it and it happens. But I guess I'm looking at the panel where Gerd's fingers get cut off, and you sort of see his weird blade weapon has those, like, motion lines on it, you know, like it had been teleported or something, you know, not really sure what's happening there. Like, it's. It's. Oda's action is. It's a flip of the coin when it comes to it being comprehensible. But I think when it comes to Emu, I will let him have it just because this is a character who is a little bit incomprehensible as of now. I will admit that when Stanson got his leg chopped off and then Sanji, like, immediately, like, Sanji goes head to head with him, I was like, oh, no. I hope Sanji's leg is okay. Because I then just kept thinking about, like, I guess he could be like Zeff, where his other leg gets. Gets pegged. So in regards to what Steve was mentioning too, about the, like, microscopic panels, like. Like I mentioned while we were reading that panel with Zorro going, damn it, I wish that was a little more clear as to, like, what was happening with him. Just because it looks like he gets hit in the face with the Omen attack, but I guess he's holding his shoulder. It's really hard for me to tell. I keep thinking like, wouldn't it be fucked up if Zoro's other eye got. Got gouged out and he'd be a blind swordsman for the rest of the. For the rest of the series. Less fucked up and more like very like, you know, oh, well, Zora's badass because he only uses observation Aki to see kind of thing. This is me thinking way, way, way ahead. But, like, based on what we saw, you have Fujitora.
B
Yeah.
E
Yes. Based on what we saw Imu do to the Giants. I'm sort of like thinking in my head, oh, well, what could he possibly do to Luffy? I think he. I think he's Next chapter. He's going to totally body Loki. Loki might prove to be a little bit of a. An adversary, but I think he's Going to get bodied. I think Luffy is going to get bodied. I think. I think this might be Shibandi 2.0 at the end of the day, where our crew is just going to get totally, totally, totally wrecked.
F
And.
E
Yeah, I think. What else to say, honestly, I guess I'm looking forward to the next chapter. Oh, yeah, Gunko. And we haven't talked about Gunko yet. I think Gunko is fodder for. For Emo at this point, I think, you know, he maybe looks at Gunku and saw, oh, you failed me. This.
B
This was. I thought he was freeing her from the ice.
F
I wonder too. But he just ditches her. Like he stops for some reason, killing him.
E
Yeah. And doesn't give her. Does not give Gunko an omen as well. I mean, I feel like he'd have
F
shown it to us if. If we were supposed to. I mean, he'd pack in another tiny panel in there.
E
Well, I mean, this also gives. Gives. I think this gives. This gives us a reason to get the Gunko Brook flashback that we've been sort of eagerly anticipating. Right? If. If Emu sort of abandons Gunko here, we then get, like, maybe an unlikely ally in Gunko. Or at the very least, like, if all of our heroes are about to get decimated. Gunko is maybe the reason that they get saved in the end. But there's. I think there is definitely, like, yeah, I don't think Gunko is coming back with Imu.
B
I will. I will add. I do generally agree with that, but that the thing that Loki mentioned last time, that nothing except for the squirrel Ratatuska can melt it. It's been rattling around my head with this too. So I'm like, wondering if this even did anything.
E
No. Well, the thing is that Loki says this, but Ratataskar is also like an ancient thing, right? An ancient animal or being or whatever. And Imu is also pretty ancient. So I feel like if there was going to be anything that could melt Loki's ice powers, it's. It's Emu. And we saw Emu escape from the ice also. Right. Like,
B
He just left.
E
Okay, well, I guess we'll get an answer next chapter, because I'm sure Loki's gonna try and freeze Emu and it's probably not gonna fucking work. And then I thought to myself, like, oh, yeah, Loki's eyes don't really look like Imu's eyes, right?
B
No, not at all.
E
They're not the same. They're not the same eyes.
B
It's almost inverted.
E
Yeah, it's interesting. Also, looking at his full design, Imu's design, he's got the same Oni gauntlets or whatever that Kaido has. So he's.
B
Yes.
E
I noticed that his silhouette sort of resembles Kaido, and it sort of resembles Eneru and it sort of resembles Caesar Clown a little bit. Like, it's.
B
It's got some DNA. Yeah.
E
It has some DNA from other villains in there. Yeah. Anyway, those are my final thoughts. Scattered thoughts.
B
I have a bunch to say. I also like this chapter. I think accomplished its job with me in that it got my heart racing. I was like, I. I know I knew that things were about to go south, but it. I think it absolutely, you know, Oda's task, this chapter was to make us feel uneasy and to give us, like, the. The full. I think, what. What Alex's kind of final thought, you know, hits the nose. It definitely felt like Shibadi 2.0. That's, like, the first thing I thought coming out of this, because I can't remember a chapter with this level of, like, hopeless. I don't want to say hopelessness, because
E
I think hopelessness is a pretty good word for this. Although there seems to be a time limit to IMU's thing here. So I don't think, like, you know, I don't think everybody's getting scattered.
B
No, no, no.
E
But there's definitely going to be a loss here. There's this.
B
That's. That's a loss here. Yeah. I don't really think that there's a chance to, quote, unquote, win, which is kind of. We. We have kind of known the outcome. I mean, with some of us, I know we've had disagreements about it, but, like, at the beginning of Elbaf, we were like, if the party's. Greg had mentioned this. I know, but, you know, the party happens at the beginning. We know things are about to go really get really bad. This arc. And this finally introduces how we've, like, known the. The end. Like, what the end result is likely to be, which is bad, but we haven't known how. And the chapter, was it two chapters ago, where things look like, oh, we finally got things wrapped up in a neat little package. And then Emu's like, I gotta pack my bags and head over to Elbaf. Um, you know, obviously, this has been. Yeah. Oda was. Was trying to make us think that, okay, maybe the thing that you thought was going to happen this whole time is. Is not going to happen, and then brings it to us here. And I think it he does an excellent job. I think Zorro and Sanji getting bodied is. Is necessary and. And really I think does help with the ominous, you know, feel you're supposed to get from this chapter. I do like the voice Steve put, but I think it for Emu that's probably gonna now be my inner monologue for him or dialogue for him. But I am now I think I'm convinced that Emu is one of two things. He is either an alien, which don't. If you're listening, don't roll your eyes because we have seen aliens in one piece. This is not a ridiculous out of left field notion. I think the. The. The reason that I had in that direction of the two directions is just the designs on his body are. And his general look seems very otherworldly for one piece. And we mentioned last time how he looks like a Naruto character or like he's out of a completely different manga. Maybe I've Inuyasha on the brain for whatever reason, but I definitely get some vibes from like that. And was it Naraku in that who was like this? Like I'm the villain who does everything and I'm evil. And you know, like it does feel very much like that for good or for bad. The second is that this is just the result of his devil fruit, the devil's fruit, whatever you want to call it. And that he could look like a lanky, you know, whatever. At the end of the day, he could look completely different. His silhouette could be his true form. Like we don't really know if this is what Emu, you know, looks like when he's walking around in Mary Geo. This might just. He's already, you know, shown such. Such variety in how he is able to like access his powers and access places in the world. And you know, I don't even trust what I'm seeing in front of me as it being him. But I don't know. I do really. I want to say I know the. It's been done with Linlin is true, but I do really enjoy how he is like inverse Nika Luffy kind of. I do like the fact that he has very goofy attributes to his power. Not just with the dancing devil houses, but also like little devil cannons. You know, like those having like some personification. I think it's fun. And like the. On page 12 we were talking about the stuff with Gunko. Like he has like that little bazooka gun that shoots out like the little chain chomp guy. Like that's a fun little That's a very one PC, you know, power. For someone who looks like an OC that's, like, just gonna come in and beat some, you know, beat some people up. Similarly, the sound effects, which I do keep meaning to mention, are very odd. I mean, I don't know. I don't know what they, like, are in Japanese, but, like, the snick snack for the. For the fingers are definitely creepy. But there were some weird ones in there.
F
Cha Ching is, I think, the weirdest one out of all them.
B
Yeah. Which page was that one on?
F
Page seven, when he's fighting Zorro. Well, generously for Zora.
B
You mean Kaching.
F
I'm seeing Cha Ching.
E
It's not Cha Ching. It's more like. Like, it's. It's not like a. Like, money money.
F
That's what I was thinking of initially, like a catcher closing.
B
I am fighting. Yeah, that would be fun. But no, I Ching. Yeah, I think it's more like, like. Yeah, like, not. I guess it does sound pretty similar to Cash Register. Yes. No, that one did stick out to me. There was. I think there was on the previous page, too. Or maybe. I don't know. There's. There are some odd ones like, that, you know, leapt out to me that I can't think of right now, but I do. You know, I say this all the time, but, like, I want to hold my opinions until the end. I don't know. Like, if you asked me what would my ideal form for Emu have been, I don't really know what answer I would have given you. I don't think it would have been this, but I would never have thought of this.
E
You know, Emu's like, Imu's hand thing when he does Omen, kind of looks like a yoga pose thing. I bet it has some sort of significance to. I don't know, some sort of. They're good, right?
B
I always say, like, the sign of good Shonen action, though, is that you could play it on the playground. And actually, to Steve's point in the voice and everything, like, it is, you know, my power does this and this so you can hit me. It is a perfect playground maneuver. You know, Emu is kind of the douchey kid in your elementary or middle school or whatever, you know, that you're trying to play with and is not listening. It's like, I have a special thing that doesn't allow you to do this, and I kind of. It's a good villain for a Shonen series in a way. A lot of Shonen series have Those villains. And they don't often end in a compelling way. Those villains. I think that's where all of our collective worry is with Emu. Correct me if I'm wrong, not to spoil series, but like, I think of an Aizen or a. You mentioned Naruto. I know from what I recall, there's a lot of that that happens in that series. I feel like there are a lot of like, big shonen series that just has the final boss. Like, and I could do everything. And I've controlled this the entire time and that sort of thing. And that. He definitely gives off that vibe. I do get that. Not to end on that note, but. Oh, but the last thing I did want to say is that I do like the fact that this gives all of the villains we've had built up to this point. Summers and killing him in particular. Since we don't really know what is happening with Gunko. Like new. A new lease on life in that now they are threatening again when they had been completely declawed and we get to beat them up all over again. That's the great thing about immortal people is you get to keep kicking their ass, which hopefully they will do. I don't think Luffy is going to stand a chance here. And if he does, it will be in holding him off, not in kicking his ass, I don't think.
E
Here's a crackpot theory. Luffy's gonna die here again and. No, but like, die, die. Like, he'll get killed by Imu and he'll wake up. He'll show up in the astral plane or whatever. The top of the tree, and then has to get back to real life or something. I don't know.
B
Thank you. You reminded me.
F
What does Goku have to do? Run the path to get to.
E
That's the Snake way. Yeah.
B
Snake way.
E
I wonder. I wonder if, like there's. I'm trying to think, like, what's one of the most extreme things that could happen here? And like that. That's one of them. That. Or Luffy loses an eye and then he becomes Eyepatch character. But. Or he just could be just, you know, totally merc. Like he just totally is just fucking. He just totally loses. I mean, it could just be that. But. But I'm throwing that out there as a possibility because every single episode Zach's like, we need to see the third part of Elbaf. We need to see the top of the tree. The astral bit.
B
I'm glad to it. I completely forgot about it.
F
Well, I feel Like. Like to hop on what you're saying, Alex. I feel like it's the ideal time to do that because we've gone through Wano Egghead and now where Luffy is still fighting as in gear five and has absolutely no idea what he is. If there's a place for him to get smoked and then somebody to be like, hey, man, there's another level to this. You have to like, figure this out. Like, you have to actually be conscious with your abilities. Yeah. Like Gabon. I don't know. I. I don't think Gabon makes it out the other end of this. Or at least.
B
How dare you not.
F
Gabon is amazing. And it's. You know, I don't really do without him.
B
Yeah, no, Colin.
F
Do without him.
E
I. I don't know. I think my heart. I don't think dying here. I do think that perhaps, like, look. Yeah, this is definitely the time where Luffy's gonna realize what. You know what. What's really at stake here.
F
I think.
B
I think some people on.
E
Is the question.
B
I think some people on this island will probably die. I don't know.
E
Maybe I want to know what Summers, like, Summers is up to. Summers went off in the opposite direction. What the fuck is he doing?
B
He went off in the opposite direction.
E
Yeah. He flies off a different way.
F
Both launch off. They don't see him again.
B
Oh, yeah? Where's he going? Good question. What's that gonna say? Yeah, I. I don't know. I think. I think this probably will end poorly forever. Heroes. I do want to mention a couple things I've just seen around that people are going to be angry if we don't point out. Probably the Sanji eyebrow change happens at least twice. I noticed.
D
Well, maybe he's turning back into a germa.
B
Yeah. Or something. I mean.
D
No, I was kidding. I'm pretty sure it's.
B
No, I mean, I'm kind of just. I mean, it's that the. Whatever it was in Egghead, he was going, where did.
E
In this chapter.
B
He's on page 1415. Yeah. So he has the eyebrow toward the nose, then away and then back toward again right before he gets smacked.
E
Yeah.
B
So I don't know what's. I. I'm assuming that is intentional. But again, it's Oda, so who the hell knows?
E
It could be. It could be.
B
Yeah. It probably is though, because he's been using it since Wano as like a.
D
Yeah, but that happened once and that was like a sense of character.
B
And Egghead had happened. We did an image of that. Yeah. About that it was the Sanji, the Sanjitution or whatever it was around that time in Egghead. It was right before we, you know, left Egghead for a while, that period.
D
And his eyebrow changed.
B
His eyebrow changed and it stayed that way. Do you read the manga, Steve?
D
What a dumb plot line.
B
Wow, Steve. I don't know. Maybe Steve doesn't read the manga anymore.
D
There's my answer to the question.
B
Yeah, no, I'm.
D
I don't know. Yeah, he loses his mustache sometimes. Is he turning evil?
B
And Alex, I'll ask you the yes. Actually, no. When you get a mustache, you turn evil. Someone also, I think I forget who pointed it out that I saw the three skull thing on Emu and Blackbeard's flag and any relation there too. What do you think?
E
Any coincidence? Yes. I don't know. That's kind of interesting. But we. I don't know enough for me to.
B
The skulls there are odd. But it might just be the devil motif. Like it might just be.
E
I think it might just be the devil motif. Yeah. Like the reason that they have seams on the rent of their heads. Maybe it's because it looks cool or maybe. Maybe Emu is the fourth person that had the immortality surgery or whatever and blah blah, blah.
B
I. I really think he is. I. The more I think about, the more I think he is not of this world. The dot. His whole design is just seems very otherworldly.
E
What's the deal with your dot dots?
B
Many. Oh, wow. Yes.
D
What's the deal?
E
I wonder if it changes color. They all change color when he's angry. I think the dots are representative of all the devil fruits. That's my. That's my. Just.
B
There are not enough there first glance.
E
Well, you don't know. I mean, we haven't seen freckles.
B
If that's ants. I mean even the ones we know so far, there's probably only a couple dozen that we're seeing right now.
E
I know.
D
Maybe you got a tattoo that got the original Ivankov voice actor fired in Japan.
E
It's a butthole tattoo.
B
Yes, that's what it is. Any final thoughts on the chapter on that note? Oh yeah. Where did his font go? Imu like by the end of the chapter, his font is gone and it's really sad. Maybe that's why he starts talking like that at the end.
D
Oh, I wonder if that means he's turning good.
B
It might just be a mistake. I'm not sure. Or he just stopped doing it. Any. Any other final thoughts though, besides the font? All right. Let's do some peace together.

B
This is the Piece Together segment, the darkest part of the podcast, where we take your questions, comments, and theories and decide whether it goes into the gutter or onto the throne. Let's start Alex with dis piece.
E
Well, dis piece this week is a real dis doozy. I'm just kidding. This week, actually, we have a record. Not too many dis pieces this week. This week. So we'll start with 7. Straw Hat Pirate 9.
B
There's one above that, too.
E
Oh, is there? Well, we'll start with that one then.
B
Yeah,
E
let's see. Did we 15th? Oh, yeah, we should start with that one. No, we'll start with the 15th. Right, because that's.
B
Oh, you're right. You're right. Yes, yes.
E
There we go. Well, we start with Zack S. No relation. Not many who says, hi, folks. Could you guys define the Internet fanfic terms you use in your segments? I'm old. My Internet knowledge ossified around 2004, and I have no idea what a glup shit toe is. Love you all. Keep up the good work. I think I can field this one. A while back. Years and years ago. I think this is probably like when the Mandalorian first season came out or something like that. Somebody tweeted back when it was called Twitter. I forget what the exact wording was, but, like, Star wars fans are always like. Whenever a new Star wars thing comes out, Star wars fans are always like, oh, my God, Glup Shido returned. And since then, you know, ancillary. Ancillary characters who have become fan favorites across many fandoms are now known as Glup Shido. Because Glup Shido sounds like a Star wars character's name. Also. Like, it's.
B
Well, it is or it's. Isn't it?
E
It's not a real.
B
No, it's not. Okay, you're right.
E
It's not. No. I think. I think since then somebody in, like, you made a Star wars comic, like, maybe created a character named Glub Shido.
B
Since then, I forsake. You know, I just Believed it because it feels. Yeah, leave it so there. I'm also just very gullible. So. Yeah, that one. But if it's not obvious, I also learned after the fact that.
E
Well, since then we brought it up in the Discord and from now on, One Piece characters who are like that are now known as Glup Shit beards. So I think that.
B
Which we'll talk more about at the end, maybe very quickly. Yeah, maybe because Ken has a list of what's going on with that tournament. Yeah.
E
Yes. Ken gave us a good write up.
B
Was there. I'm trying. Was there any other, like, Internet related terms that we use in segments? Does he mean like the names of the segments? Because it was just all bad puns.
E
I mean, this is all that they say. This is all they say. Is the Gluptin.
B
Just making sure.
E
Well, Zach. Yes. If you want to write and ask any more of what we say that is incomprehensible, then just.
B
That's what we're here for. Incomprehensibility.
E
Yeah. That's why we're here. Black Gendo. Black Gendo, head of Black Nerve says, hey, Opp. Garling's Mac tonight Hairstyle allows him to be an elder without having a planet in his name. But it kind of looks like the Curve of D. Could the Celestial Dragons be appropriating symbols from their enemies without full knowledge? Charlos's sister had no idea what the Void Century is. Hmm. I don't. I think it's just. I don't know, classic Oda character design.
B
Yeah.
E
What do you think, guys?
B
Classic is a strong word, but. Yes.
E
I don't know why you hate it so much.
B
It looks stupid.
E
Well, what do you think about Whitebeard's beard?
B
It's badass. No, they all look stupid. But also he's an awful person, so it like adds on to the stupidity. It's like a little. It's like almost too much. I think is maybe my.
E
I don't think it's enough. Like, it's. It's just enough for one piece. I don't know. Am I. Am I a bad person for thinking that he has a cool.
B
Are you a bad person for that? Yes.
E
Yes.
B
You are? Yes.
F
Oh, I kind of love it. He looks goofy as shit.
E
Steve, what's your take? We have one against one for. We need you to be a tiebreaker.
B
What are you talking about? I'm already voted out two to one already.
E
Oh, yeah, I guess that's true.
D
Oh, never mind.
E
Steve, what do you think, Steve? What do you think of Growling's hair?
D
Oh, it's silly in a. In a good way. I don't know. I think, you know, we. I. I can't be here like, oh, Emu looks too badass. No, no, no. And then like, Garling looks like Mac tonight and be like, get these silly characters out of my one piece. It's like, what do you want? What do you want?
B
I'm in between for both.
D
Because to be. To be honest with you, if Garlic didn't have that hair, he'd be another character. Be like, I don't give a shit what your power level is. You know, you are nothing.
F
Just imagine him doing the.
B
When.
F
When Shrek pulls the earwax out and makes a candle out of it. Like, I imagine that's what he's doing in the morning. Like sticking his hair straight out with gel.
D
Yeah, that's right. Because he's.
F
Yeah, it starts to fall and he's like. And he's just, like, continuously applying more gel as the day goes on.
E
We forget about that bit. We always focus on this part.
B
It's an audio part.
E
The moon part.
F
Can we.
E
Talking about the side spikes.
B
Side spikes, yes. You know what? I'm standing by my point. He's a shitty person, and I think his design is just. I'm not saying he's a good person. I just think at least defending him and everything.
F
You guys are unfair to the Celestial dragon.
B
Yes.
F
I think we need to look at their perspective a little bit.
D
See, I feel like with his hair sticking out the sides and his almost full circle, like hair and beard, he could turn into, like, the. It. You know, Mr. Garrison's self portrait.
F
He does look infinitely worse on God Valley when it's just a hair over the top. It looks so terrible. It looks like just a banana is sticking off the top of his head.
B
He looks dumb. In God Valley, he looks dumb. Alex and Steve are still laughing at that joke. The previous one. Not any of the ones that did
D
draw that. Kirby.
E
Good God. I was gonna say something, but I'm just gonna go right to the next one. Straw Hat Pirate 9 says, Yep, hate Emu. Hate Emu so much. Poor Gerd. Her fingers. The fear that went through me on that panel. I was so immersed. I read it so fast, it felt like only 10 pages instead of 17. EMU calling Harold a faithful, suffering. Pissed me off so much. So licky. Loki straight up calling Emu a clown. Pissed me. Pleased me greatly. And that final page with Luki looming over Emu was fantastic. I Am so glad we get a chapter next week. I didn't say this while we were doing the chapter, but, like, finger. Like, losing digits is like a. It's an aversion of mine. Like, we were watching the Pit and that happened. A bunch of that happens in this season, and it's just a lot.
B
See, for me, it's like, eyes stuff specifically. And so that's why the eyes thing has been, like, especially creepy. Like, it has been effective for me. But yeah, no, that. That's like, I have plenty of aversions. I just like, yes, the digital thing is creepy and it's different for one piece. I don't think we've seen that.
E
It is different, but I think it's also, like, because the giants are so big that, like.
B
Yeah, yeah, that makes sense. Yeah. No, I attracts 100%. It's clicky.
E
100%.
F
It isn't a Kagurabachi reference, but I'm choosing to believe it is. There's a character whose entire fighting style is around cutting people's fingers off, so keep them from Wheel. That's. That manga is pretty brutal. It's. It's brutal from the outset.
B
Something else I've seen too, like, that was a. That was their stick. Ah, cut off your fingers. It's a stick.
D
Have you done the Boom Hour line at all in this episode?
E
I ain't got no fingers.
D
I ain't got no fingers.
E
We're doing it all, like, off mic. Well, we did it.
B
What's next?
E
Domi reversely says, hello, my fellow clowns. Golly. How hopeless does it feel in this chapter? A devil flying around undoing the progress the straw hats and allies made in less than a chapter. All while a dark and stormy sky hangs over them and demonic trees and houses sing in glee. What is this? The Red sky seasons of tmnt? This evil ruler of the world is too scary to think about.
B
Steve, we know
E
this evil ruler of the world is too scary to think about, but an evil figure like that exists more likely than you think. Sounds like some conspiracy theory. Which brings me in. My question to bring a little light to the gloominess. Which of the straw hats would be likely to believe in conspiracy theories? And which ones would they buy into? Thanks and have a great week. Filled with blue sunny skies.
B
Steve, didn't you kind of talk about this on when you were in Quest for the Best recently? The. Oh, it was a pyramid scheme, right? I think.
D
Yeah. Which we've talked about.
B
Yeah.
D
Robin lived a conspiracy theory theory. So she's living it that's true. The fucking government took out her homeland.
B
So, like, Jesus Christ. You're right.
D
I feel she would probably believe anything. She'd be able to.
F
Usopp, too. Yeah, like, you could sell Usopp on any conspiracy theory.
D
Okay.
B
Oh would be the one giving the conspiracy theories.
E
Usopp has a podcast.
F
Fully believes it.
D
Not like a. Not like a rage bait content creator, but like. Like a drama content creator. That would be Usopp. Robin. After her experience, she would believe any government conspiracy. Like, if you told her the world government, you know, bananas used to taste completely different, and then the world government came in and changed what bananas taste like. And she'd be like, yeah, they would. Those. Those heartless monsters.
E
It's true.
D
Damn that Spandine.
E
Also, they eat shoes for dinner. Like, that's just a bunch of random ass shit.
B
Wow, these are some conspiracy theories.
D
His attention span wouldn't last long enough
E
to kill picking his nose the whole time. Chopper would believe anything you tell him.
B
Yeah, but Chopper is the most gullible. No, he's the most gullible. Straw hat. He's gullible, but he also, like, understands science.
D
He literally thought the fake straw hats. Yes. Were his friends. So he is. Without a shadow of a doubt.
B
Yeah, you're right. You're right, you're right, you're right. I was just, like, thinking, he's a man of science. He's a doctor. He must, like, there must be a. No, you're 100% correct. That's why I walk myself back there.
E
Chopper's trying to make everybody healthy again. What if chopper sounded like RFK Jr?
B
Okay, I hate this.
E
Instead of having, like, a cute little voice, he just sounded like he's been gargling rocks his entire life.
B
Please.
E
And just eats.
B
What's the next question?
E
Balls are made out of beef tallow.
D
Chopper tells Luffy he should only eat, like, red meat. Like, I could get behind the caveman diet. Yeah, sure, sign me up.
E
Luffy's eating roadkill. Anyway.
B
He literally would.
E
Oh, my God.
B
He literally would.
E
Chopper works out in jeans with Zoro. Zoro's like, what the are you doing?
B
I hate this alternate timeline you've created, Alex. I hate it, and I. Why don't leave. What's the next question?
E
I'm having a really good time. Cat socks.
B
I know
E
you know Cat socks. Cat Socks says, howdy, Opp. This week's chapter was intense. I keep thinking back to Oda's jump fest comment. Just when your perspective on Elbaf has started to shift. Boom. It ends with a big flashy finish. Is that what he said?
B
I don't remember. I could double check. I'll double check.
E
My question is this. Do you think Loki will do some big powerful lightning blast? Or is Buggy gonna come show Emu how slicing and dicing is really done? Thanks. And keep it up. The great work.
D
Slicing and dicing? Was it like an infomercial?
E
There's gotta be a.
D
What's the old thing? The bullet or something?
B
What was that thing called?
E
The Magic Bullet.
D
The Magic Bullet?
E
Back in the Void century.
D
Robin's like. Let me tell you about another magic bullet.
E
That is from a frame back in the Void Century. Back in the Void century. You could only get orange juice this way.
D
The Magic Bullet. Invented by the citizens of Wano. They've done everything there.
E
Wait. That's a Scanslations?
B
Yeah. I don't know if they ever came out with an. They must have come out with an official translation.
E
An official one. They usually do.
B
They usually do. I'll look around. You could go to the next one.
E
Okay. Well the next one's from Wispy. Who says Heyo. Who slop or who slow PP this chapter seems to be the second time Zoro has used a 3 sword serpent technique. With the first one being King of Hell. 3 sword serpent 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation used against King back then. He also used Purgatory Onigiri in that chapter. But it was written as King of Hell. Three Sword style. Are there. Okay. This is a. This is definitely a question for Steven which we'll probably ask him next time he is on. But I will. I'll read this anyway. Are there any nuances to Style versus Serpent? Those are the kanji that you can glean that would inform when he decides to use one over the other. Maybe it's a contextual thematic thing since it's a little interesting that he pulls out the three Sword Serpent against the two opponents with Lunarian features.
C
Hmm.
E
Plus there's the angle of the Red Line. Being referred to as this Serpent of Blood by the Elbaf giants. And the whole idea of the Lunarians being the original inhabitants of the Red Line. Thanks, Opp.
C
Wow.
E
A lot to unpack there. I think. I think that we'll table that one for next time Steven is here. But we should make a note of that. That's a really really good question. Wispy. Thank you. I guess we could probably touch on the latter bit of it. This whole contextual thing. Oh, you pinned the message.
B
Nice. I pinned It. Yeah. So that we will. So if you're wondering if you're in that, that's great.
E
Okay, well, we'll.
B
We'll return to it with Steven.
E
We'll return to it with Steven.
B
That's more fair to the. To the listener. So you have like an actual answer.
E
Sorry, Whispy, you're have to wait. Oh, men. Cram says oh, men. That's fun. Oh, you men. Ahoy, OPP. Banger chapter. As always, though with how powerful Imu is and how much damage he could do to even our wings, it's a bad omen. Haha for things to come. Interesting that Imu's using arrow powers like Gunko, even when not possessing her. Well, I guess that's the tail, though. It's less of an arrow power and more of his forked tail. Looking at all this though, and wrong answers only, how are our crew gonna get out of this one? Have a great week. I think the General Lee is gonna jump over. It's gonna jump a ramp and save the rest of the straw hats.
F
Kumbu's gonna bubble them away.
D
Boss Hog sounds like a one piece character name.
E
Boss Hog sounds like somebody complimenting someone else's.
B
No, no word false.
D
Why did I let there be multiple Dukes of Hazzard references?
B
Yeah, I don't like it either.
D
How are the straw hats gonna get out of this one? I wanna answer it. Seriously?
B
Yeah.
E
Delaney. Hold on. Delaney. Can you bleep out? Can you bleep out my answer? My joke? Thank you. Just responds a little crass for this podcast.
B
The boss I.
D
Since Emu is like so final boss here, I'm trying to think he's only here because he's like, pissed off that he was able to be one upped so many times. So he's coming here to, like, make a statement. Like, I don't. Can't see any reason be like, oh, yeah, you know, I can't see him pulling a Hody Jones with like. No, no, no, no. You know, rough him up real bad, but keep them alive so they could tell everyone how mean we are. I can't see Emu doing that. There might be some moment of desperation. I wouldn't be surprised if there's some sort of kidnapping. Why do I feel like Loki's gonna get kidnapped?
B
I say I appreciate you being so sincere, but they did say wrong answers only, so that's true.
E
Well, I do think. Hold on, but if we're talking about
B
this though, doing a sincere answer, I
E
was thinking about a kidnapping too, but I Don't know about Luke. Whatever happens here, I think that it's just. It's going to be tied directly to this time limit that Emu is on.
B
I agree. I mean, there's something going on with Emu that prevents. Obviously, he can't just travel the world, otherwise he would be taking care of all these problems himself. Like, if he's. That's like, kind of the problem that I have with power scaling is because if you think about it too much, you're like, why couldn't a have just come in and fixed all the problems that happened to, you know, all these other places?
E
It's like if everybody in Seinfeld had a cell phone or something.
B
Right? That's. That's the. Yeah, that's a very good analogy. Yeah. No, the story wouldn't be interesting if everyone on Seinfeld had a cell phone. Like, come on.
E
All right, we got two more disc pieces left. They're pretty. Pretty cut and dry. Reverse Nemo says, what do you think Emu likes to eat?
F
Caterpillars.
D
Flowers.
B
Butterflies. Butterflies. He waits for them to mature. Golfer. And then he eats.
F
Well, I think he's very selective. He only wants the blue butterflies so that he looks. He can up his hype moments and aura in the. In the throne room.
B
Yeah.
F
And then, you know, make sure he has the perfect shot for the anime. But he eats the caterpillars that would turn red.
E
Wow.
B
What do evil people eat? The most evil people you could think of in the world,
F
the hyper wealthy. Do that thing where they eat the baby bird with the cloth over their head.
E
That's right. Yeah. Didn't they do that in succession?
F
They sure did. Greg and Tom.
B
Yeah. Or if you want to talk about the hyper wealthy, if. And we go back to Seinfeld, it's eating candy with a fork and a knife. Candy bar with a fork and a knife.
E
That's right.
D
Killing him should sound like Greg.
E
Oh, that would be good. From succession. He's probably a sex pest like him too.
D
Yeah. I don't know who would be Tom here, but be like, hey, what the hell, man?
F
So what do the goras say is his Tom once again?
B
Yeah.
D
Hey, man, why are you going around town? Emu? We failed an egghead.
B
Huh?
E
What the fuck, dude? No, it's Summers. Him and Summers is calm. Yeah, 100%. Also, I'm imagining, like, killing a puking in his helmet like Greg does in the first episode. Just comes out of the hole there.
B
Speaking of, what's the next question? It's full Of.
E
Well, I didn't. I didn't get to answer because I think. I think that Emu likes to eat. Eat Epils and Benimus.
B
Oh, there's the episode title. That's too late.
E
This is why we should wait until after piece together.
B
That's a missed opportunity. I don't know what we would draw,
E
but it doesn't matter. Just Emo's Big Mike and Big Mike.
B
Emu's a Big Mike, but it's the silhouette version. That's.
E
Hey, Mikey, just relax. It's just a giant banana. Yeah.
D
Emu likes to eat old people's medicine.
E
Oh, God.
B
I get that reference.
E
That's a reference that I love. Whenever. Whenever it pops in.
B
Yeah.
C
Okay.
E
Big Mike closes us off with. What do you think Emu smells like?
D
Orange vomit powder.
E
Those guitars that are, like, double guitars, you know?
B
What does he smell like?
E
Bad chocolate microscopes.
B
How old is this guy? He smells like mothball.
F
And, like, at least 800, right?
B
Yeah, like butterfly balls.
D
What's that, like, smell? It's like the fake burning smell.
E
Liquid smoke.
B
Smell that at the.
F
Oh, liquid smoke is good.
D
I smelled that at the Ren Faire yesterday, and it smells like. You ever been on, like, Spaceship Earth?
C
Yeah.
E
Oh, yeah. It just smells like old animatronics.
D
Yeah. Well, there's that certain part. What is it like, was that one section where everything's burning? Yeah, like, I think it's like the Dark Ages part.
E
Yeah, yeah.
D
That smell. He smells like that. The fake. The fake, smoldering, burning smell.
E
Artificial burning. That's what the black flames are.
D
Artificial burning.
E
By the way, I think it's kind of funny that, like, two separate characters mention the black flames in this past chapter. Like, hey, hey, don't forget about the black flames. Remember the black flames. Keep that in your mind.
D
Oh, it's so cool.
B
Your Emu voice.
E
I'm going to say, Steve, your Emu voice is really good. It's sort of like. It's sort of like the Wes Warhammer voice a little bit, but it's also. It also just reads. Reads to me. Someone who works at Hot Topic.
D
It's gonna turn into Buckley in, like, three weeks.
B
Yes.
E
That's. I. I want to see. That's. That's a fan art that I want to see.
B
I want to go to that for you.
D
And for you. Buckley. Buckley's Emu Devil.
E
That was really good. That was a really good. Luann.
B
That was Luann. Okay. Okay. That's it for this piece.
D
Sorry if you couldn't tell. I was trying to do Bobby Hill doing the surprise sound, but also sounds like Lando at the Sarlacc pit.
B
Let's go to Blue skypiea. Just a couple. And then we have one last thing to do. Ice Fisher Tenacity says for Emu size, I'd get a kick out of him being 666cm tall. I don't think Emu was freeing Gunko. More like punishing us. Here you go. Punishing her for releasing Brook. She basically got a drive by blast and no omen. Question. Do you think Emu's strength will convince the Straw Hats to train on Elbaf if. If he leaves. And if there's Elbaf, I should. I should add personally, if that's still there.
D
So hypothetically, let's talk about. If there has to be a training arc for One piece, what is it?
B
I don't need one.
D
What's the training?
B
That was the times. Like pre timeskip.
E
So I was thinking about this.
D
What's the training now?
E
Yeah, I was thinking about this also. And I'm like, well, I guess they could all stay on Elbaf for a while and learn to fight from the Giants or something like that.
F
Or just like conscious use of Conqueror's Hockey, I feel like is the biggest gabon.
B
The Kung Fu Dugongs come back and teach them some proper martial arts. And that's why they call me.
D
Who's the Apollo Creed equivalent Who's gonna like show up at Luffy's like doorway and be like, oh, you forgot what you got too soft on top. You forgot what it was like.
E
Trafalgar Law Elban has actually famously beat Blackbeard.
D
You want to ring. You want to ring the bell? Trafalgar Kid.
B
Kid comes in.
E
Although I do. Well, Kid is there, right? Like kids should be around.
B
And he's dead.
E
He's not dead. That's stupid. I know.
D
Dead weight at the bottom of the ocean.
E
Also, also, I bet. I bet Law and Bepper are going to show up at some point. Because Beppo was just like. Like. Cause we need all three of these characters in one space. Again.
B
They're stuck on Loser island, which we drew Elbaf.
D
We're getting the band back together kind of moment with them a little bit.
E
Yeah, I think so.
D
Well, I mean, to be fair. Well, I mean, Shanks and Blackbeard are top tier characters at this point now. So yeah, there's no shame in losing to them. But Luffy could just be like, damn, I lost to like the literal devil. You know, get on my level.
E
No, I mean, like, I think that would be a good spot for all three of them to get together. Because, like, hey, we all got our ass handed to us after we fucking triumphed over Wano. I don't know. It's kind of a fun.
D
But they're still competing for the One Piece. So I mean, like my whole question going back to it's just like.
E
But they're not now.
D
They're not now.
E
No, that's the thing. I think that Trafalgar and Kid are gonna join with Luffy. And like everybody is forming alliances now to take to find the One Piece. Cross Guild is now an alliance looking for the One Piece because of Buggy's dumb dream. Shanks is going after it. Blackbeard's going after it. Now the whole world is going after it because of Vegapunk's message.
D
Yeah.
E
Vegapunk's message, by the way, is basically like Tldr. Whitebeard was right. Remember that the One Piece is real. Mem. Meme, meme. Whitebeard's dick. Whitebeard's dick. Chopper crying like Luffy.
D
Ace handshake.
B
Did I remember that part? Did I hear the same message as you, Alex?
D
The thing is, I understood all of that. No, just going back to the question I raised at the beginning was just like, what techniques can they learn at this point? I don't want it to just be Super Haki.
E
Nami has yet to show us what she's learned in Wytheria.
B
True. I mean,
D
we haven't seen what most of the characters have learned in their two year training.
E
I guess that's true. Usopp learned how to. He learned pop greens. He's had five new attacks. Five new attacks.
B
Oh, Chopper.
F
Easy on Chopper now.
B
Sorry.
E
He only has Rumble One Rumble Ball to turn into Monster Chopper now and
F
then also smacks Domi Reversi out of people.
B
Yeah. During his time skip work. Yeah.
D
Sanji learned to skywalk and learned a lot of.
B
That's true.
D
Interesting recipes that, you know, we have not gotten to see.
E
That's right. We'll never see them. The 100 Okama recipes.
B
We got one in Punk Hazard at the very end.
F
You don't think he learned that cake
B
rejuvenating whatever it was. Yeah. At the very end of Punk House, he cooks one.
D
You could argue. But I remember Ivan Kov is like, oh. Like we have recipes that like make you stronger and all that. And I would like to see it like it was like a video game. You know, like breath in the wild. You know, you cook something and like. Oh, replenishes your.
E
Yeah, like Sanji can craft mega elixirs or garage colas or something. Now, like, that's the.
F
Or the thing that instantly rejuvenates Luffy to have Gear five again.
D
Hey, that's not a bad idea.
B
These are all good ideas that instead
D
we have Lilith, who's still there, by the way, and be like, oh, you should try some of this.
E
Lilith Delaney.
D
I should respond to that louder. Lilith is Delaney. No reason.
B
There's one more blue sky, and then we actually have a slightly longer one, which we'll get to in a second.
E
Oh, my God. In our chat, Kirby just Drew Buckley as.
D
Just Drew Buckley.
B
Check that out on Patreon.
D
Put me out of work.
B
That's literally like your M.O. right there.
E
Oh, yeah. Something about Emu's design that we really talked about. That line that's coming from his arm or whatever. It's going up to his other eye. That's covered.
B
Yep.
E
Think it's a special eye?
B
No. Next question from Cece Gastino. Who says. Who could that be? What are your thoughts on Oda using Sanji's eyebrow switching? This is probably where I thought of that from earlier. To show his transformation. Do you think that will explore his transformation dilemma slash family trauma thing from Wano more? Or is he just using it as a shorthand to show the transformation and there is nothing more to it? Clearly. I know Steve has strong opinions.
D
See, I completely missed this thing here, so I want to go back.
B
Okay. Sanji is cool.
D
Yeah, Sanji. Sanji's cool, has a life. Let's see, what animal is it?
B
Where his eyebrows this week? It was in 15. I think it was 1415. Something like that?
D
I don't have a wife. That's a lie.
F
Yeah, 1415.
B
You have a lot of podcasts that.
D
Okay, so you're telling me in one panel where he charges up his Diablo John Bay, but he does do this.
B
In Egghead, he does do this. This is a thing that has been
D
recurring since Wano when he charges up his fire.
B
His. Yes. Well, I don't know if it's exactly. I don't remember the moments in Egghead, but I know they happened. I'm positive I remember this discussion. I don't know why.
D
Mistake.
B
It isn't. I legitimately don't think it's a mistake there.
D
But doesn't that just go against the whole thing in Onigashima where he's like, oh, I'm not my family? And I guess he's like, never mind. I am
B
here. I will find. Well, it did happen in wano, obviously. I'm just trying to find where it happened in Egghead, but whatever. This isn't important right now. The listeners are yelling the correct answers to us right now. And we have one more thing to do before we round off this segment. And it is the 12th annual. Anyone know what I'm about to say?
E
No.
B
Benjamin Wilde, Yearly Trivia. Oh, yeah, every year we did get
D
a piece together Email.
B
Yeah, that's why this is by email.
E
Cool. Let's do it.
D
I saw a piece together email.
B
Like that is what this is. That's. It's a piece. It says piece together Yearly trivia and it's in the email.
E
Oh, man, I haven't done one of these in a while. I don't think I was here for the last one.
D
Sorry to derail you. No, there was one I saw above that piece together segment. Oh, I can read it for you right now.
B
Yeah, please do. Do that first.
D
I'll do it. Yeah, because you know, Ryan was nice enough to.
B
Sorry. Sorry, Ryan. I. I missed it. Yes, it's okay.
D
It's okay.
B
Sorry, Steve.
D
Ryan just writes wow, what a chapter. I don't know. Kevin wants to read it like this.
E
Why is he Jimmy Durante?
D
I don't think there was a dull moment through the entire thing. That end panel with Loki being absolutely terrifying as he and Emu stare each other down. Wow, what a chapter. And now for a question that domi reverses the tone. If you could. Wow, what a chapter. If you could put a straw hat in a currently running series and jump, what straw hat and series would you mix? And how would that go? What a chapter.
B
Wow.
D
By the way, Ryan did not say wow, what a chapter that many times.
B
Said it once.
E
I would put Nisekoi from Nisekoi.
B
It's an Isekoi.
D
It's been a minute since I was a mother manga. I am not keeping up with a lot of Shonen Jump ever.
E
So, yeah, if only Joey were here.
B
If only Senator Joey Golfer could cook here. Yes.
F
I. I mean, my answer is put Zorro and Kagurabachi and give him one of the enchanted blades, which is like these crazy super powered blades they can use that have all these different abilities.
E
These are the blades that cut people's fingers off.
F
Well, she does that without an enchanted
B
blade in that one, I think. Oh, go ahead, go ahead, keep cooking. Sorry, I didn't mean to stop the recipes from. I was trying to drop chopper
F
Drop Chopper into Donadon just for the hijinks of it. Because he would instantly join the gang because weirdly enough, he's like, really close to their ages.
D
Yeah, they'd be so mean to him. So I'm not caught up with Danodon, but all I know is, like, oh, everyone's just fucking mean to each other.
F
They're all just rude teenagers. That's why I really want to drop
B
somebody centric ones anymore.
F
Chojin X is getting, like, really dark right now. Like, it's a pretty dark manga because it's by Ishida. I'm trying to think, like, you could just throw emu in there. I mean, he fits the vibe. It's very melodramatic. So, you know, the. The. The standing outside of Hot Topic because you don't actually have any money, but you want to kind of like be seen in the area. Put emu into Chojin X. I think he gets whomped, but we can see what happens.
D
Put us up in Akane Banashi.
B
Usopp would be good. I also thought Robin would be really fun in that series, especially because she'll take a dark tone. She would be an interesting character in that series because she would make everything grim and dark for no reason. Like the comical ones. Okay, now let's do our yearly trivia. Thank you. Ben Wilde, by the way, says. Hey, podcast. That time of year again. World's largest trivia contest is going on in my hometown. So for the 12th year, time to answer some questions. $20 donated to the podcast for every right answer. Final answers from me. Zach. Please read carefully. Good luck. That's a scary way to say it. Ready, everyone?
E
Yes.
B
I, like, had, like, a real 10. I was going to open this email earlier and I'm like, no way am I doing that. I am not cheating. I really didn't, though. Number one, what was the first SBS question ever asked?
D
You jerk.
E
So we all have to come. Come up with, like, we have to agree on one answer. Is that the. Yeah.
B
So, yeah, we all have to.
E
I don't remember. How far can Luffy stretch? Is one of them, right?
D
I was gonna say that was the first one that came to mind for me.
E
Yeah, that was the first one.
F
Wasn't the first one asking if it was all of Luffy's appendages that can stretch or did that come later?
B
I like that.
E
I think, like, yes, his penis can stretch too. I remember that was one of the. That was like, in the first maybe second volume, maybe. I think. I think the. It was before the Buggy. Can Buggy's penis fly around? I remember that.
B
I think the how many gum gums? Thing is from the Arlong park manga volumes, I feel like. Which is that. I don't know if that's where you might be.
E
Right.
B
The SBS starts, but I think it's
E
the S. No, the SBS starts and I think the second volume. Right?
B
No, I think it's later. I think it's like the third or fourth, which anyway is still not Arlong. That's like eight and nine.
D
Yeah.
E
I feel like the first one is probably something. The effect of how far can Luffy stretch? I feel like that's like three.
B
I think that's a good, safe answer.
D
If it's not that, I couldn't tell you.
B
It's why are you such a pervert, Oda? Or something like that. I could see also being the first question. I mean, that's like a safe bet because that's like half of the SBS questions. But I would be fine submitting our answer being. I'm definitely gonna check this after. Because this one I'm curious about. But I would be fine saying how far can Luffy stretch? Or something along those lines.
E
Yeah.
B
Yeah. If that is acceptable enough of an answer for you, Ben. That'll be our first.
E
I'm locking that in.
B
Let's lock that in. Number two. The COVID of volume 64 was the first time this group was drawn together. Name that group.
E
64.
B
Wait, wasn't 64. Hold on, hold on.
D
I got this. Got this.
B
Yes.
E
It's a Sleeping. Sleeping Sambo.
D
No, no, no, no, no.
B
Volume 61.
D
You're thinking volume 64. Volume 60. 61st.
B
Sorry, 60 is the. Yeah. No, 61 is the first.
E
Oh, no. 64 is the time Skip. Straw hats. Right? Yes.
B
That's what I was gonna say. 64 is definitely the.
D
The first one. With Jim bae.
E
With Jim bae.
B
With jim bae.
E
Yeah.
D
Because 60 is a saba luffy. 61. Post time skip.
B
Yep, yep.
D
62 is the first fishman. 63 is. Is.
B
Oh, it's the one with like, Shirahoshi and.
D
Yeah.
B
Shiroshi Tiger. Oh, no, no.
D
Shirou. Yes. Yeah.
B
Fisher Tiger and Otohime Shirahoshi.
D
Luffy's tied up. Megalo and it's. Yeah. Fisher Tiger and otohime.
B
Yeah.
D
64. Yeah. That's the Straw hats with Jinbei.
B
Yeah.
E
And. And General Frankie. But.
B
Yes. And General Frankie.
D
Want to get specific?
B
So.
E
But that's the. Yeah, that's. Yep. That. It's that one.
B
Yes. And three Robins.
E
It's one of the one two Robins. That's one of the best covers.
B
Okay, you're right.
D
Triples is best.
B
I would prefer three Robins.
E
And my wife didn't leave me.
B
Okay, we're gonna lock that in. Straw Hats plus Jim Pay plus General Frankie. If we're adding that in three.
E
Robin's my wife. She didn't leave me. Tell him that. Tell him Robin's also my wife.
B
No, I'm not telling him that.
E
Well, tell him that Nami's also my wife too. Because you live in Utah. Tell him that.
B
This character was first mentioned in chapter 159. Well, they do have a distinctive facial feature. It's not what you think. Given the name. What is the first and last name of this character?
E
Volume 59.
B
It's probably Whitebeard 159. It's probably Whitebeard. But it would be. That would be Edward Newgate. If it is. Sorry. Go.
E
Wait. Chapter 159.
B
Chapter 159.
D
Can I read the question again?
E
Yeah.
B
Sorry. It is a little bit confusingly worded. This character was first mentioned in chapter 159. Well, they do have a. I think they mean while they do have a distinctive facial feature. It's not what you think. Given the name. What is the first and last name of this character?
E
Edward Newgate.
B
That's why I thought Edward Newgate makes. Isn't chapter 159 the ones that Right after Alabasta? Were they? Or am I thinking.
E
So chapter 200 is Water Luffy?
D
Water Luffy.
B
Oh, so no. So we would have seen before that. No, there's no. It's not Whitebeard. Then White Beard is mentioned. Mentioned.
E
Well, Whitebeard and Blackbeard are both mentioned by Ace.
B
By Ace. Yeah.
D
Yeah.
B
Actually, Blackbeard.
F
The question saying that he says both names. Like, does Ace ever even call him Edward Newgate?
B
It just says this character was first mentioned in chapter 159. While they do have a distinctive facial feature. It's not what you would think, given. It's not what you think, given the name.
E
I think it's.
B
What's the last name of this character?
E
Because he has a mustache.
B
I agree with that.
D
Are you telling me. Are you telling me Ace is introduced and then there's 40 chapters of Alabasta before Water Luffy?
B
No, no, he's not introduced. They just say his name. Because I'm saying this to Alex.
E
No, I mean, I don't know.
D
Because Ace like, mentions Whitebeard.
E
Yes.
D
And then there's 40 more chapters of Alabaster. Water Luffy.
B
Because.
D
Let me think.
F
Because Water Luffy, Waterloo is after two losses to Crocodile.
B
I think that's possible.
D
Because it leads to the second loss.
E
Well, hold on, hold on. Let's.
C
Let's.
E
One sec here. Because we've got chapter 100 is end of Loguetown. Right.
B
You know what? It probably is Blackbeard then. Because if it's Drum out.
D
Drum. Let Alex Cook here.
B
Let Alex Cook here.
E
No, because if it's 50 chapters in between, that means it's definitely like. It's not Alabasta yet. You're right. It's probably Drum. It's gotta be Blackbeard, right? Cause Blackbeard is mentioned in Drum.
D
Yes.
E
So it's mentioned in Drum for the first time now.
D
Because at least.
B
Right.
D
Cause when Blackbeard first appears, he only has like a stubble. He doesn't even have like a beard.
B
Yeah. No, it is a fair. Yeah, he doesn't.
F
Distinctive facial features thing.
D
I don't think there's that many chapters of Alabaster before.
E
No, it's not. It's not Whitebeard. It's definitely not Whitebeard.
F
You're right.
D
Blackbeard.
E
You're right. I think you're probably Blackbeard.
B
The only Marshall Teach. I still think Marshall D. Teach is probably the correct answer here. And I would give it. But the question is, so what other
E
characters are mentioned like, but not seen for a while?
D
Because I'm thinking Crocodiles introduced in Whiskey Peak.
E
Yeah.
B
And that's not 50 chapters after feature Crocodile. Unless Scar.
D
Scar Buddy.
B
No, but that's not. It says. Well, they do have a distinctive facial feature. It's not what you think, given the name. I think Occam's Razor here.
E
It's like, it's probably Blackbeard. It's probably Teach.
D
Blackbeard.
B
I think it's Blackbeard.
E
Marshall D. Teach.
B
That's a minute. Marshall D. Teach, I think is right. I think we're overthinking it. Two more left. Four. The title page of this chapter features Luffy having a meal of meat and ramen while a conveniently hidden character with Nami as the waitress. What is the number of this chapter?
E
Oh, God.
B
I mean, this is Naruto, right? This is the Naruto.
D
When did Naruto end?
E
Oh yeah. This is the Naruto one.
B
Huh?
E
But why?
B
Why is the number distinctive?
F
Naruto ends at 700 chapters. And didn't they. How far away was One Piece when
D
Naruto started one piece started in 97. Naruto started in 99.
B
That's right. Probably before it saw
F
90 chapters. What was Oda's schedule back at him
B
so much the number every week.
D
It's not so much that the number is specific. It's just Naruto had ended.
E
Yeah.
D
This was a tribute.
B
Yeah. But why would the. Why would he be asking about the numbers?
E
Because it's a hard question.
D
Yeah. What chapter was it with this tribute? One which I have no.
E
Well, here's clue.
B
But it might be like a round number. That's the thing.
F
It might be like a chapter 800 distinctly. Or 900.
E
Was it during dressrosa when Dressrosa or Punk Hazard.
D
No, no. Punk Hazard.
E
Hold on. It's got to be Drang. Because after Naruto ended, Naruto fans jumped onto one piece like it was a like life raft.
B
Golfer to Naruto end. Do you remember?
F
I just know it ended at 700 chapters. And the rumor is that Kishimoto helped write Dressrosa. So if it was around that time.
B
Well, that explains a lot.
F
That's the.
B
I've never heard that.
F
I've never heard on TikTok.
B
Yeah.
F
I've never heard Dressrosa is the only good arc because Kishimoto wrote it.
B
I don't. That's Dressrosa.
E
Oh my God.
F
It's so funny.
B
There's.
C
Wow.
B
I think it was around 2015. That would put it around chapter 800.
D
So when my hero was starting, my hero started up around. I don't know if it was before after Naruto ended, but. But I think it's.
B
I have to guess 800. If I like had to put a number on it. It's very. If it's like. If it is a non even number, we have no way of knowing. That's the thing. If it's like 798 or something, which it could be like how would we know?
D
And Naruto was about 700 chapters long.
F
Exactly 700.
D
Exactly 700. So one piece has to at least be 800 chapters more, right?
B
I think it was. I think it was at around 800. Well, dressrosa was 700 to 800. So that gives you that range. I was asking the year it ended because if we knew the year it ended, I could tell you the arc right there. Because that I for some reason remember.
F
Steve, you were saying it was. It ended right around the time my hero started. Because my hero started in 2012. If I was remember correctly.
B
Was it.
D
No, no, no.
F
2012. 13. Yeah, because the anime came out in like 2015.
D
Well, that first English volume. The first English volume of My Hero came out in the summer of 2015. So it was already going. So it must have started.
B
It might have started 13 or 14.
D
14. At least.
B
I think 14 sounds right for My Hero. But then this is.
E
This is the point where my brain. Homer Simpson's like, you guys, you can stay, but I'm out of here. Like, this is.
D
This is impossible. We're not going to get this number. Exactly.
F
Let's just guess. 800 for the clean.
E
Yeah.
B
Okay. Well, let me put it this way. 700 is going to be like in around 2013.
D
700 was the wrapping up. And it's when like Doflamingo is like,
B
I got the flame. Flame fruit. Yeah, yeah. 700. That's chapter 800 was the Sun's cup. It was when they were all.
E
Yeah, just rose. It lasts for like that. That whole like 100 chapters.
B
Exactly that. 100 chapters. Yeah.
D
Remember when that was?
B
No, but that was too long. Like, that's. That's the difference. That shouldn't have been that long.
D
So could it have happened in like, zo think this happened?
B
No, I would say 800 if I had to guess.
E
Let's. Let's. Let's. Let's say it's 800. Wait, but dressrosa starts at 700.
B
It starts at 700. So are we saying the start of Dressrosa or the end of Dressrosa? So start.
E
Why don't they just say like, sure, 800. And in your answer also just put like in parentheses when Naruto ended like. Because I feel like maybe we'll get half points for that.
B
Yes, I will do that for half points. Although he does ask for number, so it's going to be really hard to get at it.
F
That.
D
But why don't we just say a random like, I. I don't think it's 800 clean on the money.
E
What if it's like a number joke? Like, like how, like, you know, gomu that kind of like Naruto told, like
B
overthinking it, but also like, it's completely possible it's an actual number. Because I know there's people listening who have looked this up now and know the answer and we don't.
D
Let's just say 800. I don't think it's 800.
B
But yeah, it's. Who knows? When I look this up in five
E
minutes, I'm gonna be really 775. I don't know.
F
Okay, well, I think it's later than that.
B
But 800 is.
D
I think it's later than that too, for some reason. Like, Zoe is kind of.
E
Well, then let's say 850. Fucking.
B
Okay. That's too much.
D
That's too much. We're not even in zo anymore.
B
2850 is in the middle of whole cake.
E
812. You want to do 812?
D
Say 8 12.
B
You want to do that? Sure.
D
812.
B
So what if it's 800? Can I be mad at you?
D
Then it's my fault.
B
Okay. A12 is our final answer to stone me. Then I could at least do that to Steven.
F
We could do this forever too.
B
We could try to do this in one piece. Film red what is UTA? What is UTA record in her competitions? What's UTA's record in her competitions with Luffy? That one I don't remember at all.
E
Ah, shit. Seen it twice.
B
I've seen it once. Twice.
E
And I seen it once. Utah's one of the.
B
I've listened to the music like 8
E
million times, but the music is fine. It's really fun.
B
Yeah.
E
Isn't it? Something in the hundreds. 108, 300.
B
Oh, when they were kids.
E
Yeah. And she did this thing is this. She's like, I'm stunting on you. Like, is that what she did?
B
She.
E
No, she. It was this thing. This.
B
I'm a tiger.
E
Yeah.
D
I'm a lion.
B
This does not work.
E
Sorry.
D
Lick my hand and rub my face.
B
Yeah. It's a very unmenacing. Yeah.
D
Like a morocci.
E
Yeah.
B
Okay.
E
Don't keep me waiting.
B
Okay.
D
We need an answer here.
B
Because this one.
D
I have no idea.
B
I'll take whatever you guys give me.
D
Could it be in the hundreds? Like, I felt like they know each other for that long.
B
Well, I know, like, this is the. This is a playoff of the ace thing.
E
Yeah. 100, maybe 100. I feel like Hyaku.
B
Well, no, but it's record in her competitions with Luffy. So that's like blank against blank. Like two numbers right to one.
E
He hasn't won once.
B
Oh, he didn't win once, right?
E
He hadn't won a single second time. Yeah. In their little competitions, they're like, are
B
we thinking of Ace? Really?
E
Even I'm thinking Utah. Because that was like the whole thing. She's like, hey, I bet I gave more ramen than you. Or whatever. He's like, fine. And then.
D
Or it's like, eat all your food before, like a dog tackles you.
E
Something like that. Yeah. I don't.
B
Okay, then I'll do 100 to 0 if that's what you want to do. Is that fine? I don't think we're doing very well this year.
E
I wonder if there's a theme with all the numbers.
D
Oh, God. Okay. Conspiracy theorists here just call me Nico Robbins.
B
Okay, Chopper. Okay, that'll. Well. So we're going to do 100 to 1 or 64. Are we doing 100 to 0? Is that our final answer?
D
Sure. We're going to get it wrong. Might as well give it a shot.
B
We're going to get it wrong. Might as well say a wrong answer.
D
Oh, sorry. Oh, say the right answer. Oh, why didn't I think of that before?
B
The right answer is the Denver Broncos. That's going to do it. For this week's piece together, let's round
C

B
So if you want to. Patreon. Yeah, no, but huge thanks to Kirby, of course. D. Kirby J. Kirby rocks. Anyway, sorry, Kirby.
D
Kirby says, like, don't know why. DJ Kirby is a common mistake. It's like Costco and Costco.
B
Yeah, yeah. That always Costco. That always gets me. It's one of those Costco. Well, there's the baby seat company. Also Costco without the T. Anyway, golfer, where could people find you? What are you up to?

D
I was hanging out with a bunch of furry artists today and somebody in me was like, oh, so who are you online? Who's your character? And I'm like, oh, it's just me. I don't really go here.
E
Your Steve Sona.
D
Yeah, I'm just my Steve Sona on there. But yeah, you could follow me online and see not furry art.
B
I was gonna say you're the least furry person online. You have no hair.
D
I've been told I have the. Like. I've been told my art has like a very low sex drive. So if you're looking for good, clean family fun, I guess come look at my artwork.
E
I don't. That's like saying that your artwork is the equivalent of graham crackers.
B
Graham crackers are great.
D
Come check out the art equivalent of graham crackers over on my social media.
E
Well, we recently learned that graham crackers were invented for abstinence.
B
That explains my abstinence.
E
Like a priest or something invented graham crackers. This is real.
F
I know. Boring cereal was invented for the same
E
reason you say boring cereal.
F
Boring cereal. The guy who invented Kellogg's was like, we have to. We have to quell the kids nerves. So give them cereal with no sugar.
E
Yeah, give them grape nuts or raisin. Pran kicks is good though.
B
Even though I like all those. I love boring. I live for boring.
D
Did a priest think, oh, if they eat graham crackers, man, that's gonna.
E
It kind of. Yeah, no, it's like. It's like that's gonna.
D
That's gonna lower the sperm count.
E
Kids are too horny.
B
It's the abstinence, not the ability to procreate.
D
Oh, okay.
E
Yeah, No, I think it's like.
B
But still.
E
Yeah, he was very similar mentality as to what's his face? Mickey Rooney. Right, kids to think of things. Sexy. Sexy.
F
Thanks.
D
I mean, this is already an uncomfortable topic to talk about, you know, with children, but I'm just thinking of all like, what could someone be like? Man, it sounds like the meme format. Yeah, sure, sex is great, but have you ever had a graham cracker?
B
They're great. Graham crackers are great.
E
Everybody listening. Look it up. It's fucking true, though. It's fucking crazy.
D
That's crazy. Anyway, this all happened during me trying to promote myself, so this is just a black spot on me. Listen to me on Proz Plays, games over on YouTube. Listen to episodes before it gets flashback. I'm helping out seungwon at Anime St. Louis this coming weekend. So if you happen to be at that convention. And I'll basically be shadowing him, so come say hey.

B
Okay. It's just the way you said it was very funny.
D
I just like the little.
E

D
You could participate in.
E

D
Which you could participate in on our Discord.
B

D
You can't see all of us gesturing at our cameras.
B
This is fun. Yeah, it's. You know, it's almost better that no one could see the video because it makes the jokes.
E
Videos. PO Box videos. PO Box videos. Okay, so here's.
D
No, the exclusive one is
E
Tony. Tony Chops.
B
That's what they're called.
E
So here's the list of the first round.
B

B
And he was against Hamlet in the first round. That's a rough. That's a rough.
D
That's what my vote couldn't help.
E
There's more. Sarfunkel beat Yunka 2 at 1810. King Hamburger.
B
I'll credit for Dr. Fishbonen. So that also didn't help. Steve.
E
I tried Kingham Burger aka Burger Ham Lincoln beat John Ongo 22 to 2. Hoikkel beat Eddie Double D 22 to 1.
B
I don't know who that is. I don't know who that is.
E
Bunbuku beat attach 13 to 11. Fish woman attaches.
B
Oh, Bumbuku is the tanuki kettle with the giant balls. That is. Yes. Attach is great. That's the photographer I love. Attach. Actually, attach should have won that. Yeah, that's a. Sorry, go ahead.
E
Anyway, Fish Woman Nami beat Eric the whirlwind 19 to 5. UK beat Four Tricks 11 to 10. Peek at the crotch beat Lady Tree 16 to 4. King Baum beat Baba Nukee 18 to 2. I felt pressured on that vote by Pearl. Ethereally.
E
Pearl from the jungle beat Nash 13 to 6. There you go. Steve Diesel beat Zabo. Zabo? Is that Sabo's like.
B
I think that's Sabo. No, that's.
E
Who is Zabo with a cold?
D
That's the name of Sabo's talking sword.
B
Wait, who is Sabo again? I have no idea.
E
1313 to 5. He doesn't matter. He got beat. The Satanists beat hack 12 to 8.
B
Wait, Zappa was a man who illegally trespassed onto Upper Yard and was punished by nhru. It's the guy who. Like at the beginning? Yeah, that guy. What a completely random schmuck.
E
I'm actually gonna save the best one for last. Okay, so I'll just Continue. Little Ors Jr. Beat Blueno from the bar 9 to 8. Charlotte Moscato beat Chikicheeta 11 to 4. Mom Sleep Tit beats 13 to 2. Who is that? And last but certainly not least, Nisekoi from Nisekoi beats Squad 10 to 6.
D
No way.
E
Oh, way.
D
How is Nisekoi from Nisekoi in this bracket? That's not even a character.
E
We willed it into existence.
B
By the way, Sam is from Cocoyashi Village.
E
No, not Sam Leach.
B
No, not Sam Leach. But we have at least three. Anyway. Wow.
E
Wow. Back to you, Zach.
B
Thank you. Thank you for that, Alex. If you are invested in this like I am, if you want to see. I forget who's in the next round, but the voting starts now. It's open now for the next week.
E
Yeah. Join our Discord.
B
Join our Discord. We have a special channel just for this. You don't even have to care about any of the other stuff, but you should be voting on our glup ship beards. It's. It's really vital because your vote matters. It really does.
E
Rock the vote.
F
If you don't vote, how can your voice be heard?
E
It's awesome.
B
I still don't know who Eddie is.
D
Double oh, I remember Eddie. Eddie was like the one where I was like, oh, yeah, it's the navigator from Bellamy.
E
But oh, yeah, Double D. By the
B
way, Fish, Someone pointed this out on our Discord. I'm sorry, I don't remember who, but Fish Woman. Nami beating Eric the Whirlwind is great because Nami literally murders Eric the Whirlwind in the filler. So it's just, like, excellent. You know, it's like, what's the George Lucas quote here that I'm trying to think of here?
D
Eddie sounding like Double D would make Bellamy sound like Eddie, and that would be a very fitting voice for Bellamy.
E
Does that mean Sarkis would sound like.
D
I think Zarqis would have to sound like Ed.
B
Yeah, I agree.
D
I think Rivers would be more appropriate, but Zarkis is a character
B
that'll do it. For the One Piece podcast, we'll be back next week with our recap of chapter 1181. But until then, my name is Zack.
D
My name is Steve.
E
And my name is Alex.
B
Big thanks to Ed and, of course, golfer. We'll see you next week. Ice, everyone. Goodbye.
