big news this afternoon as United States residents are dealing with rising costs, some of the costs being higher than we've seen in years. Someone is making a lot of profit and a lot of profit quickly using the stock market and his name is none other than Donald J. Trump. The President of the United States is actively trading stock while in office. But that's not the worst part about it. The worst part about it is that he's trading stock while also cutting deals with the companies he's trading. And so it creates a situation where the President of the United States is controlling not just the market, but also whether or not he himself and his family make money. This large corruption scheme pales in comparison, or rather what we see on Capitol Hill in terms of stock trading pales in comparison to what we're learning comes out of the White House. I have all the latest for you right now. Like Comment Share subscribe if you can subscribe to my substack link below to support my work so this was released today. Newly released OGE Form 278T discloses that Donald Trump filed 3,642 trades involving stocks of public companies between January 1 and March 31. Our team has sorted and analyzed the thousands of transactions. Transactions included hundreds of stocks and ETFs such as Nvidia, Microsoft, Broadcom, Amazon, Apple, Alphabet, Meta, Goldman Sachs, AMD, Airbnb, Palantir, Netflix, Costco, Walmart, JP Morgan, DoorDash and others. Individuals purchases of Nvidia, Microsoft, Broadcom, Amazon, Apple and others range from a million dollars to $5 million in disclosed value. Individual purchases of AMD, Goldman Sachs, Alphabet, Airbnb, Doordash, Micron, Stryker and others have ranged from 500,000 to a million in disc post value. Trump has also reported hundreds of stock sales ranging from 15,000 up to 25 million. Now he's trading stock on his own, and typically a president can President can trade stock, right? Well, here's the kicker. New notice reporting shows that Donald Trump purchased $1 million to $5 million worth of Nvidia stock on February 10th. This happened only one week before Nvidia announced a major computer processing power dealing with with Meta, the AI and social media giant. Trump previously purchased $500,000 to a million dollars worth of Nvidia stock on January 6, a week before the Commerce Department, under his purview, officially approved the sale of some Nvidia chips to China. The Chinese AI market is a long sought target for Nvidia. Since the federal government controls the sale of advanced AI chips to countries designated as foreign adversaries, such as China. The federal government decides whether or not these Nvidia chips are sold to China. Trump buys at a time, knowing that it's likely going to approve the sale. He himself can approve the sale, telling his Commerce Department to do so. Then the Commerce Department approves the sale. It is corruption like we've never seen before, truly corruption on a scale we have never seen before. And it comes at a time where Americans costs are too high, but that's a small price to pay, according to some in Congress.
Kenyan McDuffie (Mayoral Candidate)
His promise in 2024 that if he was reelected, gas would be under $2 a gallon.
Trump Supporter/Commentator
His policies, well, gas prices were coming down until we had to deal with this situation. But you know, that's, that's life. That's dealing with, with world and the world we live in. I think the country gets the fundamental fact and I know, I understand this. President Trump makes decisions that are in the best interest of our nation. 250 years, greatest country in history. He makes decisions that are going to help our country and the long term security and safety of the people. He has the, and I think you want a commander in chief like that. You want to come.
Aaron (Interviewer/Host)
That's life. That's life. Your rise in costs, your rise in gas prices, your rise in health care costs, all of that is life. It's life. And truly part of the cost of living that's not talked enough about is the cost of Medicare. Every single month, a lot of you are cutting back on groceries, driving further to save on gas, canceling things you used to enjoy. But your Medicare plan, well, that bill keeps on coming and most people never look at it twice. That's why I partnered with Chapter for this video. Medicare plans change every year. What your options are, what you're paying now, what's covered. It may not be what it was when you signed up. And you never know unless somebody actually looked. Chapter hires independent Medicare advisors, the only ones that compare every plan nationwide. Their advisors are salaried. They don't get paid to push a certain plan. They look at your doctor, your prescriptions, what matters to you, and they tell you the truth. If you're already on the right plan, they'll tell you. If you're not, they'll help you switch. In past year, seniors who found new plans saved on average $1,100 on healthcare costs. It's free and it's free help in just under 20 minutes. So call Chapter today. 864-538-066-48645 380664. Now this afternoon I also spoke with Kenyon McDuffie who's running for mayor of Washington D.C. my home. See how he's going to lower costs. Let me know what you think. Like Comment Share subscribe to my Substack link below my interview with Kenyon. Super excited today to be joined by Kenyon McDuffie who is running for mayor of D.C. now I got to jump right in and ask you, why the heck do you want the job of mayor of the District of Columbia?
Kenyan McDuffie (Mayoral Candidate)
That's a great question. Everybody's asking it. I'm a fourth generation Washingtonian. Aaron I love this city. It's a city that gave me opportunities. Opportunities to be a letter carrier, to literally deliver mail across Washington, D.C. but also an opportunity to become a lawyer, a prosecutor, civil rights attorney at doj and really fight to make this city better. And so I want to make sure that we have in our next mayor somebody who cares about the District of Columbia, who can protect our vulnerable neighbors, and who is going to fight and deliver for all DC not just some people who have connections to who they know and because of what money they have or where they live, but all of our residents across all eight of our wards. And I'm focused like a laser on creating opportunities for folks who just haven't seen it, who want to see themselves reflected in the future prosperity of Washington
Aaron (Interviewer/Host)
D.C. now, I gotta ask you, I've lived in the city for almost 10 years now, went to law school in the city, and I have seen a dramatic change pre Covid versus Post Covid in terms of the number of businesses in the city, the number of just, you know, even people out and about. How what are you gonna do as mayor to make sure that businesses can thrive right now in our city, that new businesses can come in and that existing businesses, especially local businesses, can stay and thrive?
Kenyan McDuffie (Mayoral Candidate)
We're gonna be a city that means business, and not just in rhetoric, Aaron, but a city that makes it easier to do business in Washington D.C. as we think about the federal government policies that are really making it more challenging for people to afford to live in D.C. the economic headwinds are real. And we're going to make sure we streamline the processes in government to make it easier to start a business, grow a business and create more jobs. And then we're going to connect our D.C. residents to those opportunities. Both our displaced federal workers as well as all these young folks who are starving for opportunity, who are not going to show up at City hall, who need a mayor with leadership that shows up in their communities to really usher in that opportunity so that they can see themselves reflected in the future prosperity of our city. And so you have to mean business in order to make sure that people can start their businesses, grow their businesses and create more jobs. Right now, it takes too long to get a permit to do business. It takes too long to get a permit to do housing, to build housing in the District of Columbia. And we got to be honest, right now, government doesn't move at the speed at which people live their daily lives, in which business abstinence. So we have to make sure the government moves at the speed of capital, at the speed at which people live their daily lives.
Aaron (Interviewer/Host)
Now, you mentioned housing. Right now, D.C. is one of the most unaffordable cities in the country when it comes to renting, when it comes to purchasing a home. How are you going to lower costs for housing in the city?
Kenyan McDuffie (Mayoral Candidate)
We're going to lower costs, Aaron, by building more homes and expanding opportunities for people to live in Washington, D.C. and for the people who already are here, we, we want them to stay. But in order to lower costs, you have to build the homes that we need across incomes, including deeply affordable housing and that sorely missing middle so we can have more teachers, more first responders, firefighters, police officers living in Washington D.C. i'm going to build 12,000 units of housing. We're going to build 1500 units of family size housing and we're going to preserve 20,000 units of existing affordable housing to make sure that everybody can afford to stay here in the District of Columbia and we can attract new residents to live in our city and new people who want to start businesses and really engage in that entrepreneurial spirit.
Aaron (Interviewer/Host)
Now, if you're mayor, you're going to be walking into a district that has armed service members currently patrolling the streets and will continue to have that through 2029. What's your opinion on the National Guard being on the ground right now? And is this something that you're going to talk to the administration about if you're mayor?
Kenyan McDuffie (Mayoral Candidate)
Absolutely. I'm going to talk to the administration about it. And the first thing I'm going to do as mayor of the District of Columbia is make sure that we end cooperation between the Metropolitan Police Department and ice. In order to have public safety, you have to have public trust. And right now, not enough people in this city actually trust our police department, both because of the scandal with MPD's leadership, with the manipulation of stats, crime stats, but also because people don't trust a Metropolitan Police Department that has ICE and HSI embedded in it. I know that not simply because I live here, but because I've spent my career on a council legislating in a way that makes policing more transparent and holds police officers more accountable. Publishing data around stops and frisk and other encounters is absolutely essential to really building the trust. And Aaron, NPD has come a long way over the years in being able to build trust in neighborhoods across the District of Columbia. But what I know is because of ice, because of HSI cooperation with npd, people have lost trust. The trust has been eroded and we need to appoint leadership at NPD that restores a culture of accountability and transparency and works hard to restore the trust that communities need in order to feel safe across the District of Columbia.
Aaron (Interviewer/Host)
What do you say to folks who say, well, you're gonna pull, you're gonna end this cooperation with ICE and mpd, but that's gonna upset those in the administration and will lead to the administration just imposing its will on DC Even more. What do you say?
Kenyan McDuffie (Mayoral Candidate)
Folks, here's what I know that I've heard President Trump say that he wants Washington, D.C. to be safe and clean. He's not gonna get any argument from me, nor do I think he'll get an argument from any of the 700,000 residents who, who live in Washington D.C. washington, D.C. is the nation's capital, the most globally recognized city in the world. It should be the safest, it should be the cleanest and the most affordable city in the United States. And I'm going to work to make sure that that's the case.
Aaron (Interviewer/Host)
Now, how are you going to work with the President? Are you going to take an approach, kind of like Mayor Bowser has thus far, where it's, you have an adversarial nature, but at the end of the day you all work together, or is it going to be kind of a Newsom style approach where you're just fighting fire with fire constantly?
Kenyan McDuffie (Mayoral Candidate)
Listen, we're not, you know, we're not California, we're not la, we're not San Francisco, we certainly aren't New York City or Chicago. We do not have two United States Senators and a delegation of members of the House of Representatives who can actually vote. And we are unique. We are byproduct of the Constitution of the United States. Article 1, Section 8, Clause 17. Congress gets to make all our laws. So my approach to the federal government, including this president and any hostile members of Congress, is to work with the federal government where possible and to fight back where necessary. I'm not going to poke the bear, but I will defend Washington D.C. against Trump and anyone who seeks to threaten the livelihoods of our 700,000 residents. I want to make sure I stand up and protect them, to make sure that we have fairness and justice in our nation's capital. But I will sit down and work with the federal government where there's an opportunity to do major deals like bring the commanders back to our RFK site and develop 180 acres so that we have thousands of units of additional housing, including affordable housing, and thousands of new jobs that people across the District of Columbia sorely need. There's an opportunity to work with the federal government to dispose of properties that get developed and so that we can activate those underutilized federal buildings and actually put them on the tax rolls. An opportunity to get the federal government to expand Union Station again. A transformational infrastructure project that could create thousands of jobs and economic activity at a time when Washington, D.C. needs exactly that.
Aaron (Interviewer/Host)
Kenyan McDuffie, thanks so much and good luck in your race.
