That's what US officials are privately describing Donald Trump as behind the scenes as we near the president's 8pm deadline of total extermination of Iran, total decimation, a quote, death of a whole civilization. The President is threatening war crimes and right now Republicans are saying we hope it doesn't happen. We hope that's not what he means. Congress, for what it's worth, has not done anything, is still out on recess, seemingly not interested in holding the president accountable. Right now, Iran has cut off all direct and indirect communications with the United States following the president's threat, and US Officials are quietly warning that the president is the most bloodthirsty official of them all. As always, make sure to like, comment, share and subscribe. The more you like, the more people see this news. And if you can subscribe to my substack, click the link below as I'm reporting all day, all night and also it'll help keep me caffeinated. I want to begin by talking about what US Officials are right now describing the president as behind the scenes. Trump might be the most hawkish person in the top echelons of his administration on Iran, according to a US Source that spoke to Axios, quote, the president is the most bloodthirsty, like a mad dog when downplaying stories of Hexef or Rubio. Quote those guys sound like the doves compared to the president. Trump has started sounding out advisors and confidence about the plan to strike power plants and bridges by asking them, what do you think of infrastructure Day? Well, he's not backing down this morning. Not at all.
White House Official/Trump Representative
I just got off the phone with the president and he called and I said, listen, if you were to put odds on it, what were the odds that this is going to end up being a negotiated deal? He said he wasn't going to put odds on it, but he said 8pm is happening. That's what he said. He said it is. If we get to that point, there is going to be an attack like they have not seen. Now, he's sticking to that at this point. Now, he said if negotiations move forward today and there is something concrete that could change. But at this hour, he didn't want to put odds on it, but he said it is moving forward with the plans that we have. That's a huge deal. And obviously we all think that it's a thing that he's putting out there to say, don't do this. He says he doesn't want to do it, but he is at this hour sticking to it and saying it might be likely if they don't come to the table.

And while Republicans are now publicly saying, we hope the president doesn't actually follow through on this threat, despite the fact that there has been no indication that he won't follow through on his threat, here's what Senator Ron Johnson had to say today.
Senator Ron Johnson
I am hoping and praying that President Trump is. This really is bluster. I do not want to see us start blowing up civilian infrastructure. I do not want to see that we are not at war with the Iranian people. We are trying to liberate them.
News Anchor/Host
That is as clear as you can get from a Republican senator who is one of the more hardline Republicans in the United States Senate. Now, other Republicans don't actually think Trump means what he says, though. Take a listen.
Interviewer/Journalist
Okay. The new threat for the president is that a whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. You say the president doesn't want to do it. Does being reluctant to end a civilization make it okay
News Anchor/Host
again?
Republican Official/Spokesperson
I don't think we're talking about ending a civilization.
Interviewer/Journalist
The issue you don't believe, you don't believe. Are you saying you don't believe? Do you say you don't believe the president's threat? Do you say you don't believe the president's threat.
Republican Official/Spokesperson
Infrastructure. It is their energy infrastructure and their civilian infrastructure, including roads and bridges, that will cripple the the Iranian regime and certainly their economy. That is not something we want to do. Because as Ron Johnson said, rightly, we are not at war with the Iranian people. We want them to be free from this oppression and tyranny that they have lived under for 47 years. But if the President has to take necessary action to strike their energy and infrastructure, that is going to cripple the regime. That is what he is talking about. Now.
Interviewer/Journalist
You don't believe a threat. You don't take him at his word that he will end a whole civilization.
Republican Official/Spokesperson
He is talking about the energy and civilian infrastructure. That's what he's talking about.
News Anchor/Host
John.
Interviewer/Journalist
Is he is. That is. Have you had a conversation with him about that? He says I never to be brought back again. He just means the bridges and the infrastructure
Republican Official/Spokesperson
again, John, we're talking about taking decisive action against Iran's energy and civilian infrastructure. That is what the President is talking about. He's not talking about obliterating innocent people.
News Anchor/Host
That's not what the President said. And as John Berman pointed out, the President said the destruction of a complete civilization. And, well, Marjorie Taylor Greene's calling for the 25th amendment, quote, not a single bomb has dropped on America. We cannot kill an entire civilization. This is evil and madness. Alex Jones is saying war crime alert. Trump on Iran. A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. The definition of genocide is destroying an entire civilization, people. Trump literally sounds like an unhinged supervillain from a Marvel comic movie. This is not what we voted for. Murshida Tlaib, Congresswoman. After bombing a school and massacring young girls, the war criminal in the White House is threatening genocide. It's time to invoke the 25th Amendment. This maniac should be removed from office. This is what you're getting from folks across the political spectrum right now. No one's trying to defend what Trump is doing. Not even the Mike Lawlers of the world who say this is probably not what he means, even though that is what he means. Right? When has the President not followed through on what he means when he actually does it? He backs out a lot of the time. But what he says he's going to tariff countries, he ends up tariffing countries. When he says he's going to bomb Iran, he ends up bombing Iran. Why shouldn't we take the President at his word? He is the leader of the free world, the most powerful person arguably in the entire world. We can't take the President at his word. And does his word even mean anything anymore? That's a question many will have to ask now. At the same time, it is disheartening in a lot of ways to see media coverage about Donald Trump's threat as though it's just another day. Because it's not. Because when in history has an American president threatened to obliterate an entire civilization and media has just kind of said, hey, it's happening. It's just Trump being Trump. No, folks, that's not normal. It's not just Trump being Trump. We deserve better, right from media. We deserve better. We just deserve the truth. And the truth is that is a war crime. What he is proposing. Nothing less, nothing more. I'm going to have updates for you throughout the day. It's going to be a busy day and we'll see. If Trump eventually backs down, he may very well back down. But until then, we have what we have right now. As always, like comment, share and subscribe. See you soon. The Parnas Perspective
Host: Aaron Parnas
Date: April 7, 2026
In this urgent and fast-paced episode, Aaron Parnas unpacks explosive reports that top U.S. officials are privately labeling President Donald Trump a "bloodthirsty mad dog" as tensions with Iran reach a boiling point. As an 8pm deadline looms—set by Trump for what he describes as the "total extermination" of Iran—Republican lawmakers and public figures scramble to distance themselves from his rhetoric, debate his intentions, and plead for restraint. Parnas dissects the political, legal, and media reactions, underscoring the unprecedented threat, confusion among allies, and the growing alarm across the U.S. political spectrum.
“The president is the most bloodthirsty, like a mad dog when downplaying stories of Hexef or Rubio. ... Those guys sound like the doves compared to the president.”
— US source to Axios (quoted by Aaron Parnas)
“I just got off the phone with the president ... he said 8pm is happening. That's what he said. ... If negotiations move forward today and there is something concrete, that could change. But at this hour ... he is moving forward with the plans that we have.”
— White House Official
Senator Ron Johnson expresses hope that Trump’s threats are bluster, not policy:
“I am hoping and praying that President Trump is. This really is bluster. I do not want to see us start blowing up civilian infrastructure. ... We are not at war with the Iranian people. We are trying to liberate them.”
— Senator Ron Johnson
Other Republicans downplay Trump’s intentions, suggesting his threats target infrastructure, not the Iranian people:
“It's their energy infrastructure and their civilian infrastructure, including roads and bridges, that will cripple the Iranian regime and certainly their economy. That is not something we want to do. ... But if the President has to take necessary action ... that is going to cripple the regime.”
— Republican Spokesperson
“We cannot kill an entire civilization. This is evil and madness.”
“Trump literally sounds like an unhinged supervillain from a Marvel comic movie.”
“After bombing a school and massacring young girls, the war criminal in the White House is threatening genocide. It’s time to invoke the 25th Amendment.”
“When in history has an American president threatened to obliterate an entire civilization, and media has just kind of said, ‘hey, it’s happening. It’s just Trump being Trump.’ No, folks, that’s not normal.”

Throughout, Parnas maintains an urgent tone—clear, direct, and deeply critical of both Trump’s threats and the lack of decisive response from Congress and the media. The language blends legal precision with pointed political commentary, reflecting Parnas’s role as both journalist and attorney.
This episode spotlights a historic crisis moment where senior U.S. officials, Congress, and media scramble amid a president’s unprecedented threats. Parnas delivers sharp analysis, contrasts conflicting Republican responses, and amplifies the chorus of alarm from across the political spectrum, demanding accountability and a reality check from media and lawmakers alike.
