fitness we have some important updates this evening from TSA and ice to Iran. On the TSA and ICE front, Americans are overwhelmingly blaming the Republican Party and the President of the United States for the ongoing government shutdown within the Department of Homeland Security that has led to exceptionally long wait times. And now ICE agents deployed at the airport. And it's not just Americans blaming the Republican Party. It's while Republicans themselves. As Senator John Kennedy tonight admitted that the reason why the United States Department of Homeland Security remains in a government shutdown is because of one man, Donald Trump. Now, at the same time the President was in Memphis today touring the home of Elvis Presley, all while a war raged overseas. A war that although Trump says there will be negotiations, the Iranian government says not so fast. All while the day after plan remains unclear. The because today, for the first time, we're learning that the United States government does not believe it can topple the regime of Iran. Make sure to like, comment, share and subscribe. Because right now, independent media has never been more important. This evening, let's start with tsa, ICE and what's happening at our airports. Louisiana Senator John Kennedy is admitting the quiet part out loud that it is the President's fault that we remain in an ongoing government shutdown. Take a listen.
Senator John Kennedy
Cruz and I came up with a plan. We said, look, it's a two step process. The Democrats have offered to open up everything but ice. Ted and I said, okay, let's accept their offer. And then at the same time we, we would offer a bill for reconciliation where we don't need any Democratic votes to do whatever we wanted to do with ice. And that way we're out of the shutdown and DHS is back open. We submitted that. Senator Griffun submitted that to President Trump, as is his right. He said no, no deals with the Democrats. So we're back to Square one.

They're back to square one. And square one is an ongoing government shutdown that has led to ICE agents being deployed at airports across the country. Now, the deal that Senator Kennedy was saying was, okay, let's fund fema, let's fund tsa, let's fund the Coast Guard, and we'll save ICE for another time. Donald Trump says no, no deal with the Democrats. At the same time, Republicans rejected, penalized
Senator Rosen
TSA and the traveling public for the fact that you refuse to rain on ICE and have them be held accountable, have them be trained, transparent and accountable, like every other law enforcement agent in this country. And so, as if in legislative session and notwithstanding Rule 22, I ask unanimous consent that the Senate proceed to the immediate consideration of calendar number 362S4127, that the bill be considered, read a third time and passed, and that the motion to reconsider be considered made and laid upon the table.
Donald Trump
Is there an objection, Mr. President?
Senator John Kennedy
Chair recognizes Senator from Kansas reserving the right to reject.

That is a video of Senator Rosen putting forth the bill to fund TSA and a Republican objecting again. So it doesn't look like there's going to be a deal anytime soon. Now, Senator Mark Wayne Mullen will likely be confirmed as the new DHS secretary tonight, but it, it's not without new controversy surrounding the likely new Secretary of Homeland Security. Here is a new unearthed video showing Mark Wayne Mullen making remarks that many say are unbecoming of a DHS secretary.
Senator John Kennedy
Now, you take Lara, for instance, when she was a girl trying to spank her Dale was like a four minute ordeal because she's like, no, daddy, no, daddy, no, Daddy, I'm sorry, Daddy, I'm sorry. And then she get madder and madder and she just couldn't bring herself to even bend over for me to be able to bust her butt. And I was like, honey, you got like two seconds. Are you going to get two instead of one?

That's the new likely Secretary of Homeland Security. He is likely to be confirmed this evening or tomorrow. Now, at the same time, the president was in Memphis today touring Elvis Presley's home while war raged overseas. And we're learning some key information about the war in Iran this evening. CBS News is now reporting that US Intelligence believes that there have been mines placed, at least a dozen naval mines by the Iranian military in the Strait of Hormuz. At the same time, US Intelligence officials reportedly now believe that it is unlikely the war will achieve key goals like overthrowing Iran's regime. Or permanently eliminating its nuclear threat. At the Same time, the USS Tripoli, USS New Orleans and about 2200 Marines from the 31st MEU are set to arrive in the Middle east this Friday. It is timed with the end of Donald Trump's five day delay of strikes on Iran and timed at the end of the market closing now. Today, Donald Trump seemingly tried to throw Pete Hexseth a little bit under the bus when it came to the war, as he likes to call a military operation.
Donald Trump
Unfortunately, I came, I called Pete, I called General Kaine, I called a lot of our great people. We have great people. And I said, let's talk. We got a problem in the Middle East. We have a country known as Iran that for 47 years has been a just a purveyor of terror and they're very close to having a nuclear weapon. We can keep going and get that 50,000 up to 55 and 60 is no end, or we can take a stop and make a little journey into the Middle east and eliminate a big problem. And Pete, I think you were the first one to speak up and you said, let's do it because you can't let them have a nuclear weapon.

country at great risk during this period of time, a period that they call a war. They call it a war, we call it a military operation.

And if you want to know who's going to be leading or in control of Iran moving forward, that's not fully clear.
Donald Trump
Thank you. That'll be opened very soon. If this works and who's in control
Senator John Kennedy
of it, will Iran still be able to control the flow of oil?
Donald Trump
Be jointly controlled by whom? Maybe me. Maybe me. Me and the Ayatollah. Whoever the Ayatollah is, whoever the next ayatollah. Look. And it'll also be a form of a. A very serious form of a regime change. Now, in all fairness, everybody's been killed from the regime. They're really starting off. There's automatically a regime change. But we're dealing with some people that I find to be very reasonable, very solid. The people within know who they are, they're very respected. And maybe one of them will be exactly what we're looking for. Look at Venezuela, how well that's working out. We are doing so well in Venezuela with oil and with the relationship between the president elect and us, and maybe we find somebody like that in Iran.

In this episode, Aaron Parnas delivers a fast-paced, insightful update on a dramatic turning point in the ongoing U.S. government shutdown, with Republicans breaking ranks to publicly blame Donald Trump for prolonging the impasse affecting the Department of Homeland Security. The episode also covers Senate infighting over funding key agencies like TSA and ICE, controversy around the likely new DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin, and critical developments in the ongoing U.S.–Iran conflict, including Trump's unusual remarks on managing regime change.
"Cruz and I came up with a plan. ... The Democrats have offered to open up everything but ICE. ... We submitted that...to President Trump...he said no, no deals with the Democrats. So we're back to Square one."
Senator Rosen: "TSA and the traveling public for the fact that you refuse to rain on ICE and have them be held accountable, ... be transparent and accountable, like every other law enforcement agent in this country." (Republican objection follows, blocking progress.)
Senator John Kennedy (recounting Mullin’s anecdote): "...when she was a girl trying to spank her Dale was like a four minute ordeal...I was like, honey, you got like two seconds. Are you going to get two instead of one?"
Donald Trump: "...we can take a stop and make a little journey into the Middle east and eliminate a big problem. And Pete, I think you were the first one to speak up and you said, let's do it because you can't let them have a nuclear weapon." "They call it a war, we call it a military operation." "Maybe me. Maybe me. Me and the Ayatollah."

Senator Rosen—On public frustration with ICE-focused gridlock (03:10):

The episode lays bare fractures within the Republican Party and the chaotic nature of American governance under crisis. Through sharp commentary and direct Senate and Trump quotes, listeners are equipped with both facts and the tone of political tension dominating this moment.
