We have some major news this evening. The Republican primary in Texas. Republicans are in complete chaos right now. Well, because Donald Trump is urging one Republican to get out of the race, out of risking losing the Texas Senate race in November. And well, Republicans are saying no to Trump, defying Trump. Meanwhile, the Democrats, James Talarico is officially the nominee. He just gave a opening speech, his acceptance speech, his victory speech or whatnot. And well, there's a crowd full of Republicans, Democrats and independents. And tonight, Republicans are panicking because Texas is officially up for grabs. And, well, if I would have told you this even two weeks ago, you would have laughed at me. It's not a funny matter anymore. It is serious for Republicans in Texas because their own infighting is about to cost them a Senate seat. Make sure to like, comment, share and subscribe. I have the latest right now. And your subscriptions, your support definitely helps that work. So Donald Trump today said that the Republican primary for the United States Senate was had record numbers, right? He says, quote, it must stop now. We have an easy to beat radical left opponent. Referring to James Talarico. We have to totally focus on putting him away quickly and decisively. He's referring to John Cornyn and Ken Paxton, saying they both ran great, great races, but not good enough. This one has to be perfect. And he says that he's going to be making an endorsement soon and he will be asking the candidate that he doesn't endorse to immediately drop out of the race. Okay, well, Ken Paxton's the MAGA guy in this race. A lot of people thought that Trump would actually endorse him, but Ken Paxton has a lot of baggage, infidelity issues and so much more. John Cornyn has been the senator in Texas, senior senator for a long time now. Relatively popular within the Republican Party. Not super maga, but not super center either. And all signs today, according to the Atlantic, pointed to Trump endorsing John Cornyn. Okay, so that means Ken Paxton has to drop out, right? Not so fast.
Ken Paxton
Yes, it was. And by the way, I spent 5 million versus 100. And there've only been two U.S. senators that I know of that lost a primary in the last 40 or so years because the finance rules are so rigged in favor of the incumbents and, and so limited for challengers. But it's, you know, I think Richard Luger lost and Bob Bennett lost to Mike Lee. So it's a pretty unusual thing to take on an incumbent and actually do well against them. And we're going to do really well in the runoff.

So when you look at the vote, 60% of the people who voted last night voted against Cornine, though he's been in office for a long, long time, four decades. What do you make of that? What message does that send? And what message do you want to send to the Republican base state? President Trump said he's going to make an endorsement. Whoever he does endure should drop out. I have a funny feeling you don't drop out under any circumstance.
Ken Paxton
No, I understand this race. I owe it to the people of Texas. I've spent a year of my life campaigning against John Cornyn because John has not represented the people of Texas well. He sided with Joe Biden on Second Amendment restrictions, sided with Joe Biden on bringing Afghan refugees to settle here without vetting them. But he's been against Trump in both of his elections, said he shouldn't run. Last time his day had passed. And of course, he fought him on the border wall. He's been an amnesty gu. Everything that Trump stood for. John Cornyn's fought, but he had. He was a big help to Joe Biden. The people of Texas, at least the Republicans would like something.

He's staying in. He's staying in. Well, that's going to cause a lot of problems because Donald Trump needs him out of the race. And while you may ask, well, Aaron, well, what does it matter? Ken Paxton and John Cornyn, there's going to be a runoff in May. Okay. They're going to. The best person will come out on top, right? Yeah, fine. But you know what that means. They're about to have to spend millions of dollars, millions of dollars fighting each other. When in reality, for the next two months, if there is still a runoff on the Republican side and both of them are still in, James Talarico has a clear Runway. And tonight he made a pitch to those voters who didn't support him. Take a listen.
James Talarico
Thank you, Hilda. Thank you all for being here. One thing is clear. Today, we're about to take back Texas to the billionaires who have taken over our state and taken over our country. Your unchecked power is coming to an end. Your days dividing working people are numbered to the people of Texas, no matter how you voted in the primary. This election is our chance to take power back for ourselves and our communities. We're done being divided. We're done being played. We're done being pitted against each other. That old politics is dying and a new politics is being born through all of us. I want to start off by thanking Congresswoman Crockett. She is a colleague and a friend. I am so grateful for her voice and her leadership. It was an honor to run this race with her. To the congresswoman's supporters, I know I wasn't your first choice, but I hope to earn your trust and earn your support as your Democratic nominee. It's on me to ensure you feel welcomed in, represented by and proud of this campaign.

It's a pretty powerful opening salvo. He went on to continue to talk about how they're going to throw everything at him. I want you to listen to this.
James Talarico
There is something happening in Texas. The people of this state have given this country a little bit of hope. And a little bit of hope is a dangerous thing. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter what happens in this Republican runoff. We already know who we're running against. The billionaire mega donors and their corrupt political system.
Political News Host
Not.
James Talarico
Not any one politician, not any one political party. We are running against the broken system and the powerful people who broke it. They're scared of the movement we are building. They're going to throw everything they have at us. They're going to call me a radical leftist. They're going to call me a fake Christian. They'll call our movement Untexan. Un American. They'll call us a threat. The only truth is, we are a threat. We're a threat to their corrupt system. Two thousand years ago, when the powerful few at the top hurt those at the bottom, that barefoot rabbi didn't stay in his room and pray. He walked into the seat of power and flipped over the tables of injustice. To those. To those who love this state, to those who love this country, to those who love our neighbors. It's time to start flipping tables. Thank y' all for being here. Thank you for being in this fight. God bless y'.
