We have major news regarding the war in Iran. Tens of thousands of Americans remain stranded in the Middle east as we speak this morning. And despite efforts from the State Department and the Trump administration to get the word out about a hotline that could help residents leave the Middle East. When you call, when they've called over the past 24 hours, the state Department has told them you're essentially on your own. Figure it out. Other countries, meanwhile, are helping get their residents out. France has launched an airlift to get their residents out of the Middle East. And at the same time, Mike Huckabee, the US Ambassador to Israel, is under major fire for joking with US Diplomats in an official memo who are sheltering from incoming Iranian bombs that they could maybe name their child, their future children, after him. All while the United States of America has, for the first time since World War II, sunk a Navy ship, the Iranian navy ship, using a submarine and a torpedo. And on top of all of that, we have election results in from last night across the country that I want to talk about. Make sure to like, comment, share and subscribe. The more you like, the more people see this, even if you don't always like the news. Subscribe to my substack. Click the link below to support my work. And also, we are expanding, so if you are interested in potentially joining the team. I cannot respond to everyone, but I will do my best to respond to as many people. So message me, comment below, spread the word. And yes, subscribe to my substack to help that expansion continue this morning. This is what folks calling the State Department number got over the past several hours. Quote, please do not rely on the US Government for assisted departure or evacuation at this time. There are currently no United States evacuation points. That's what an automated message on the hotline that was provided by the Trump administration to US Residents stuck abroad who want to come home. They essentially said, you're kind of on your own. Now, the Trump administration says that they have helped about 9,000 folks to date come back from the Middle east, but there are tens of thousands of more U.S. citizens, U.S. residents waiting right now across the Middle east who cannot get home. Airports are slowly set to reopen in some areas, but even then it is very, very tough, just given the fact that Iranian missiles and US Missiles they're just firing back and forth and you never know what's gonna happen on any given day. Now meanwhile, Mike Huckabee, the US Ambassador to Israel, is facing significant fire from his own diplomats because he wrote them a memo over the past two days. This is from the Washington Post. And in the memo, which was addressed to diplomats, local staff and family members said that, quote, if the extended time. Extended time referring to them spending time in the bomb shelters with your spouse results in the birth of your next child in about nine months, I of course expect that you will want to name that little bugger after me. Suggesting that those who are spending time together with their spouse hunkering down from Iranian missile strikes in Israel may attempt to make a child. And if they make a child, he would expect them to name him after Huckabee. Now, I am pretty confident that was a joke in the memo. But when you were talking about a serious memo. And these diplomats and their family and staff can't actually get out of Israel because there are no evacuation points, the US Government isn't helping. A lot of folks are upset at Huckabee for even considering making statements such a remark. Now in other news, Pete Hegseth held a press conference today, 8am as he does very early in the morning. And he complained about the media coverage right now regarding the war in Iran.
Pete Hegseth
Take a listen what the fake news misses. We've taken control of Iran's airspace and waterways. Without boots on the ground, we control their fate. But when a few drones get through or tragic things happen, it's front page news. I get it. The press only wants to make the President look bad. But try for once to report the reality. The terms of this war will be set by us at every step.
News Host
The issue is we are reporting the reality. It's not meant to make the President look bad. In fact, I wish my reporting could only be positive news about the White House and the President and efforts abroad, but ultimately the American people. Only about a quarter of the American public surveyed recently support the war in Iran. So this is not the American media's fault, but maybe rather the folks in charge who are launching a war of aggression in Iran that most Americans do not actually support. And no amount of complaints from the Secretary of Defense, from the Pentagon, from the White House will change the fact that Americans simply don't support this effort. Maybe one of the reasons why is because there have even been reports early on in the war that an all girls school in Iran, southern Iran, were struck by either a US or Israeli strike Now, the total death toll is not fully 100% clear. It's not fully 100% confirmed. But Hegseth says when asked that they're looking into it.
Pete Hegseth
You got a tie on?
James Talarico
Yeah, yeah. Thank you.
Reporter
Come back to the BBC. Can you give us an update on what the administration knows, what you know now about the reported strike on a girls school in southern Iran on Saturday?
Pete Hegseth
All I know, all I can say is that we're investigating that. We, of course, never target civilian targets, but we're taking a look at investigating that red tie in front, just on
Reporter
the basis that with the information, you would have your reconnaissance abilities, ability to gather information. I mean, it's several days on now. So is there any clarity on whose munition this was?
Pete Hegseth
We're investigating it. Thank you.

No answer from the Secretary of Defense, but he did note today that for the first time Since World War II, the United States torpedo using a submarine and a torpedo, an Iranian navy ship which is located in the Indian Ocean. Here is the clip of the explosion. Truly a stunning clip. As a result, more than 30 Iranian soldiers had to be rescued by. By folks in Sri Lanka and in the Indian Ocean. So all of them were there. Now, meanwhile, America had elections. American had elections. Last night, James Talarico won in the contested Texas Democrat Democratic primary. Here's what he had to say after winning.
James Talarico
We are not. We are not just trying to win an election. We are trying to fundamentally change our politics. And it's working. The number of young people who showed up to vote in this election is unprecedented. The number of Texans who have never voted before but showed up in this election is unprecedented. The number of independents and Republicans who voted in this Democratic primary is unprecedented. This is. This is proof that there is something happening in Texas tonight. Tonight, the people of our state gave this country a little bit of hope. And a little bit of hope is a dangerous thing. I want to thank y'.

All.
James Talarico
Thank you for.

And in Arkansas, another political earthquake occurred. Democrats flipped this Republican House district in a special election. 26 point over performance in a district that voted for Kamala Harris by one point last election cycle in 2024. So, major news. We have stuff in Iran. Elections here at home, chaos all over the place. Make sure to, like, comment, share, and subscribe. Spread the word.
