important midday update for you this afternoon. Donald Trump is taking heat after sitting next to the Japanese Prime Minister in the Oval Office for a bilateral meeting. And when asked why the United States did not notify Japan and other American allies of the strike in Iran, he responded, well, why didn't Japan notify the United States and me about Pearl harbor? In a moment that drew complete silence in the room. At the same time, Tulsi Gabbard is continuing to testify on Capitol Hill, will not answer whether or not was close to a nuclear weapon was an imminent threat, despite the fact that she is the current Director of National Intelligence and that is her job to answer questions like that. As Iran may have, according to reports, struck an American F35 fighter jet, that would be the first time Iran has been able to strike an American fighter jet in combat. And I believe it may actually be the first time ever that a F35 fighter jet has been hit completely. So lots to cover like comment, share and subscribe. Not now, not ever. I wanna begin by showing you this moment in the Oval Office today where Donald Trump was asked point blank, Mr. President, why didn't you notify America's allies like Japan before the war began so that they can prepare? It's been a consternation among many of America's allies in Europe and in Asia. They were notified ahead of time. They didn't know that the United States was going to strike Iran. Take a listen to what he had to say.
Donald Trump
Of course, no, Japan and us Are very good friends. But one question. Why didn't you tell US allies in Europe and Asia, like Japan, about the war before attacking Iran? So we are very confused about. Well, one thing, you don't want to signal too much. You know, when we go in, we went in very hard and we didn't tell anybody about it because we wanted surprise. Who knows better about surprise than Japan? Okay, why didn't you tell me about Pearl Harbor? Okay, right. He's asking me, you believe in surprise. I think much more so than us. And we had to surprise him, and we did. And because of that surprise, we knocked out the first two days. We probably knocked out 50% of what we and much more than we anticipated doing. So if I go and tell everybody about it, there's no longer a surprise. Right. Okay.

Now, right now there's a lot of questions on Capitol Hill and in Washington generally about why the United States government is asking for $200 billion more for Department of Defense spending, specifically on the war in Iran. Now, Hexa this morning during his press conference alongside General Kaine, the chairman of the Joint Chief said that the $200 billion in funding is necessary to replenish America's stockpile and to continue fighting a war that has cost American taxpayers about $11 billion in the first six days. It's been much longer, almost a month now, entering its fourth week soon, and, well, we likely have spent 20 plus billion dollars at this point on this war. But Donald Trump was asked, well, sir, why do you need an extra $200 billion? He made a comment that it's gonna leave a lot of Republicans a little concerned about giving more money because he's not just focused on Iran anymore. Take a listen. If the war is almost over, why is the Pentagon going to ask Congress

for an additional $200 billion?
Donald Trump
Well, we're asking for a lot of reasons beyond even what we're talking about in Iran, when this is a very volatile world and the military equipment, the power of some of this weaponry is unthinkable. You don't even want to know about it. Oh, you could end this thing in two seconds if you wanted to. But we are being very judicious. But we want to do. Don't forget.

So that's interesting. The president is acknowledging for one of the first times this is more than just about Iran. And, you know, the president has repeatedly said Cuba could be next. Cuba will be next. We had reports this morning that Denmark was even preparing for a possible American invasion in Greenland when tensions were extremely high. So the United States government is obviously looking for other military targets across the globe. Cuba likely is next, and that's why they're asking for $200 billion in supplemental funding. But another big issue in this war is the fact that over the past 24 to 36 hours, we've seen a breakdown between the United States and Israel. From the beginning, they've been very kind of lockstep with one another. Right. Israel launch strikes. United States launch strikes. Trump and Bibi were on the same page, but not anymore. At least not as it relates to the Pars gas field in southern Iran. The Israelis struck that gas field. Trump quickly tried to distance the United States from that strike because it angered the Qataris. And, and he was just asked about that in the Oval Office. Take a listen. Thank you, Mr. President. When you talked to Prime Minister Netanyahu about attacking the oil and gas fields.
Donald Trump
Yeah, I did. I did. I told him, don't do that. And he won't do that. We didn't discuss, you know, we do. We're independent, we get along great. It's coordinated. But on occasion, he'll do something, and if I don't like it, and so we're not doing that anymore.
News Anchor
And the last one, if I, on occasion, he'll do something, and if I don't like it, not doing it anymore. So that's what he's saying regarding the strikes on the oil fields, which is a bit of a break from the past. And it comes as this is a video released by the Iranian military that in the center of the video is a United States F35 fighter jet. And as you can see, I'll play it again right now. Iranian Air Defense successfully struck the fighter jet. Now, CNN has confirmed that the fighter jet has made an emergency landing following the strike. The folks on the fighter jet are, I believe, at least right now, known to be safe. And the. It's not like the fighter jet went down over Iranian territory. That is a very expensive jet, hundreds of millions of dollars. I mean, that jet is not cheap to make. Right. And it would be the first time in combat that an F35 fighter jet from the United States was struck by an adversary. It comes right now, as we're learning once again. Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence, is testifying on Capitol Hill. Her job as a Director of National Intelligence is to provide her assessment about the ongoing intelligence threats to the United States of America and the Western world. But over the past 24 hours, she has refused to do so, completely going over the cloak of, well, it's not my job to make the assessment, it's the President's. And she did that again today.
Tulsi Gabbard
War. He said that there are weeks away. I just want to kind of get a sense, were they weeks away of achieving a nuclear weapon? Yes or no, Congressman, this is a

serious matter and you've made some very serious mischaracterizations.
Tulsi Gabbard
Yes or no? Were they weeks away? Yes to you and the American people. To answer this claiming my time in my time, were they weeks away or not? The American people need to know if this was an imminent threat or not, if there are weeks away or not, if there are months away or not. None of this dodging. Were they an imminent threat?
