some news right now. Donald Trump has just finished the Easter Egg Roll at the White House, his first public appearance in over three days. As many question where the president was, many questions about the President's health and his well being, where he was, what he was doing. There were rumors he was at Walter Reed. I debunked those. Those weren't true. But he did appear at the Easter Egg White House role, as he does customarily every year, as every president does. But he used the time at the Easter Egg World to talk about Iran. And there were some notable headlines that came out of his conversations with the press ahead of his 1pm press conference, which there'll likely be a lot more. But what's notable is the fact that he forgot Melania Trump was standing next to him. Melania Trump said that the reason that we're bombing Iran was for the kids and that they're doing their best to protect children and that the Iranian people essentially are okay when they hear bombs drop because that's what they want. That's really what Donald Trump is saying right now, which once again completely distorts what's actually happening right now in Iran as more and more civilians are being targeted as we speak by United States strikes, by Israeli strikes and more. Make sure to like, comment, share and subscribe. It's important people see this. The more you like, the more people see and subscribe to my subset. Click the link below to support my work. I want to begin by talking about how he opened up this Easter Egg Roll at the White House. Take a listen to his first remarks from the top of the White House.
Donald Trump
And it was a big thing. To our great first lady who's here someplace. Let's see. I think this is our first lady. What do you think of our first lady? She's a movie star. I don't know, do we call her first lady or a movie star? She has the biggest movie. Can you believe this? And she deserves it. Would you like to say a couple of words to your friends.
Political Commentator
Couldn't figure out that the first lady was standing next to him. Observers noted that the President's right hand remained swollen again amid more health concerns that the White House simply is not talking about. Won't really answer any more questions about as the American public has genuine concerns. So that's how he started. He then used the Easter Egg Roll to talk about the war in Iran. Take a listen to it.
Donald Trump
But I just want to say we have a great military. We're the greatest military, the most powerful military any place in the world. You saw what happened with Venezuela and it's an honor. I built it in my first term and I didn't know I was going to be using it this much in my second term, but it's my honor. They're the greatest people on earth. Our warriors are the greatest fighters on earth. And they very much appreciate you and love you. And that's why they do it.
Political Commentator
Well, they also do it because if they didn't do it, they'd be court martialed for abandoning their post as US Service members. Now, the use of the White House Easter Egg Roll, which is a family friendly event, to promote what is happening in Venezuela, what is happening in Iran is very uncommon, unusual to say the least. And while the President afterwards spoke to the press, press and the press asked the First Lady a question about, well, Melania Trump, what are we doing to protect the kids? Right? Your whole platform, be best, is about protecting children, is ensuring their safety both online and on the ground. And yet right now we are bombing children in Iran. Take a listen to what she had to say.
Donald Trump
Can you tell us your message?
Political Commentator
The children who find themselves, well, all of this is happening for their future, so they will be safe in years to come.
Donald Trump
We're fighting for our children that are now in a war zone. We're keeping them as safe as we can possibly keep them, but we're fighting for their parents, their grandparents. We're fighting for them. We're fighting for their future. And I will tell you, it was given to me loud and clear. Clear. The time the Iranian people are the most unhappy when you hear bombs all over is when those bombs stop. That's the problem, when they stop, because that means that are they coming back? We want to have them back. And you know, everybody knows that, everybody sees it.
Political Commentator
The issue is, is that in the first day or two of the war, the United States military struck an all girls school in southern Iran in a town called Manab. That school was destroyed, decimated over dozens of children over 150 people total, many of which were young children, were killed, were killed, were killed as a result of US Airstrikes. So saying that they are protecting children, well, that's not necessarily true. Saying that we're doing it for the future of our children, that too is also not necessarily true. And it's being called out. The First Lady's remarks. Now, he went on to be asked about, how are you protecting the Iranian people, not just the children. Take a listen to what he had to say. How is it taking care of the Iranian people if you're bombing?
Donald Trump
Yeah. Who you with? Who you with? Pbs. Well, that's a radical left group of lunatics. Who. Let me just tell you, let me just tell you, very fair question. The Iranian people, when they don't hear bombs go off, they're upset. They want to hear bombs because they want to be free. And the only reason they're not out protesting, you know, that is because they were informed that if they protest, like the wrestler and his friends, if they protest, they will be shot immediately. And that's an edict that's in writing. If they protest, if they go out in the streets, they will be immediately shot.
Political Commentator
Now, the issue with his comments are kind of twofold. Number one, the Iranian people are also being targeted by these bombings. Right? That is number one. Number two, back when the Iranian people were protesting on the streets, were making their voices heard, the United States wasn't anywhere to be found. If you recall, the Iranian regime murdered mercilessly, thousands of protesters in one of the most horrific, horrific acts of violence we've ever seen. But it also happened as some of the largest anti government protests were occurring in Iran. And Trump says, saying, help is on the way, keep protesting. Help wasn't actually on the way for two more months. And by then, protesters don't actually want to protest. Here's what else he had to say. Take a listen. Taking care of the Iranian people. If you're bombing.
Donald Trump
Yeah. Who you with?
Political Commentator
It's the same clip, but essentially where we're at right now is we have a president who I think, if I had to guess, truly isn't getting accurate information about where we are in this war. And I think we've seen a lot of reports from NBC and others that Donald Trump is kind of getting these films every morning showing the positives that the United States in Iran, right, you're getting these, rah, rah, rah, we're bombing X, we're bombing Y, we're bombing Z, and we're so successful. But he's not actually being shown the opposite side of things. He's not being shown what the Iranian people are going through. He's not being shown how the Iranian government is responding, what the Iranian government continues to do on the ground. He's not being shown those things. And so when you have a president who only gets half the picture, it distorts what he does publicly. And White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles has actually been very concerned about that. According to reports, she's privately behind the scenes been advocating for Trump's aides to step up, say more, do more, to show him what's actually happening in Iran and not just have these rose colored glasses on 247 because ultimately that does no good to anyone. So we'll see what he has to say later this afternoon. I will continue to provide you updates in real time. Make sure to subscribe to my subset. The Parnas Perspective
Episode: Breaking – Trump Melts Down During Easter Egg Roll as Pressure Builds
Host: Aaron Parnas
Date: April 6, 2026
This episode, hosted by Aaron Parnas, unpacks Donald Trump's controversial appearance at the White House Easter Egg Roll—his first public event in over three days amid mounting questions about his health and leadership during growing conflict with Iran. Parnas analyzes Trump’s remarks, erratic behavior, and the administration’s narrative on the ongoing war, highlighting inconsistencies and growing public concern. The episode offers direct analysis and notable audio quotes from Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, focusing on their justification for U.S. military actions and the domestic and international fallout.
"To our great First Lady who's here someplace. Let's see. I think this is our First Lady. What do you think of our First Lady? She's a movie star." (Donald Trump, 01:51)
Trump pivots to praising the U.S. military, referencing Venezuela and the current use of military force:
“I built [the military] in my first term and I didn’t know I was going to be using it this much in my second term… They're the greatest people on earth. Our warriors are the greatest fighters on earth. And they very much appreciate you and love you. And that's why they do it.” (Donald Trump, 02:37)
Melania’s comment attempts to frame bombing Iran as protecting children:
“All of this is happening for their future, so they will be safe in years to come.” (Melania Trump, paraphrased by Parnas, 03:52)
Trump continues:
“We’re fighting for our children that are now in a war zone… The time the Iranian people are the most unhappy when you hear bombs all over is when those bombs stop. That's the problem, when they stop, because that means that are they coming back? We want to have them back. And you know, everybody knows that, everybody sees it.” (Donald Trump, 04:06)
Parnas challenges this narrative, pointing out the deaths of children in recent strikes:
“In the first day or two of the war, the United States military struck an all-girls school in southern Iran… over dozens of children… killed as a result of US Airstrikes. So saying that they are protecting children, well, that's not necessarily true.” (04:38)
Trump dismisses questions about civilian casualties and motivation:
“Who you with? PBS. Well, that's a radical left group of lunatics… Very fair question. The Iranian people, when they don't hear bombs go off, they're upset. They want to hear bombs because they want to be free...” (Donald Trump, 05:33)
He asserts Iranian protesters will be shot if they go public:
“If they protest… they will be shot immediately. And that's an edict that's in writing. If they protest, if they go out in the streets, they will be immediately shot.” (Donald Trump, 05:33)
Parnas calls out the disconnect:
“The Iranian people are also being targeted by these bombings… Back when the Iranian people were protesting… Trump says, saying help is on the way, keep protesting. Help wasn’t actually on the way for two more months.” (06:11)
“We have a president who… truly isn’t getting accurate information about where we are in this war… Trump is kind of getting these films every morning showing the positives… But he's not actually being shown the opposite side of things.” (07:02)
Donald Trump (on Melania):
"Let's see. I think this is our First Lady. What do you think of our First Lady? She's a movie star." (01:51)
Aaron Parnas (on health concerns):
“Observers noted that the President's right hand remained swollen again amid more health concerns that the White House simply is not talking about.” (02:13)
Donald Trump (military use):
"I built it in my first term and I didn’t know I was going to be using it this much in my second term..." (02:37)
Melania Trump (protecting children):
“All of this is happening for their future, so they will be safe in years to come.” (Melania Trump, paraphrased, 03:52)
Donald Trump (on bombing):
"The time the Iranian people are the most unhappy when you hear bombs all over is when those bombs stop. That’s the problem, when they stop... We want to have them back." (04:06)
Aaron Parnas (civilian casualties):
“US military struck an all-girls school in southern Iran… many of which were young children, were killed as a result of US Airstrikes.” (04:38)
Donald Trump (to reporter):
"Who you with? PBS. Well, that's a radical left group of lunatics... The Iranian people, when they don't hear bombs go off, they're upset. They want to hear bombs because they want to be free." (05:33)
This episode underscores growing tension around Trump’s leadership during the Iran conflict, his apparent cognitive lapses, and the administration’s controversial messaging. Through clips and pointed commentary, Aaron Parnas offers listeners a critical view of current events, challenging official White House narratives and highlighting the costs of war, both human and political.
