But five months from our midterm elections that will determine the control of Congress, the Justice Department has officially canceled election integrity training sessions for prosecutors and FBI agents. It deleted a 281 page guide to prosecuting election offenses, fired almost all of the lawyers in the public integrity section, and has failed to replace the director of the election Crimes branch. Moreover, the DOJ has not taken the usual steps to establish a command center to monitor and address the typical situations that pop around Election Day. A command center team would address things like voter intimidation and targeted disinformation meant to hinder a fair process. These actions and inactions have alarmed current and former prosecutors who are now saying that the Justice Department is simply not prepared to deal with election integrity threats come November. Quote. This is really concerning, says Ryan Croswell, a former public corruption prosecutor. Obviously the command center and training are something that anybody who wants to protect election integrity would want and this feeds into the fears. But if you want to walk through this area anywhere in orange shaded that is a several block radius, a major part of New York City, major part of Manhattan Midtown. You're not allowed to. You cannot walk in this area until the game is over rather until the President leaves. Here's what the lines currently look like outside of Madison Square Garden. That's for media to get into. That's not the generic line for everyday people who may have tickets. That's the media line. And while Knicks fans, they don't want the President here. This move marks the first time in American history that the federal government has cast aside a broad slate of of environmental laws, including National Park Service Organic act, including the Endangered Species act and the National Wild and Scenic Rivers act in a national park quote the absolute disdain this administration has for national parks is disgraceful.
