Breaking news at this hour. Tulsi Gabbard has resigned as a Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard becomes the fourth cabinet level position in the past month, two months to resign from President Trump's cabinet or to be forced out. The other three Kristi Noem, the Department of Homeland Security Secretary Pam Bondi, the former attorney General and Lori Chavez Darimer, the former secretary for the Department of Labor for Women for resignations and or firing slash removal. With Kristi Noem, she was fired. With Pam Bondi she was kind of pushed out. Lori Chavez, Dreamer says that she wanted to resign Tulsi Gabbard, Director of National Intelligence has been the latest Now Tulsi Gabbard's resignation letter was first reported on by Fox News. We're going to talk about what she said in it and we're also going to talk about her legacy. Because of the past several months, Tulsi Gabbard has led the effort by Donald Trump to undermine the 2026 midterm elections. Moments ago, Tulsi Gabbard announced that she is resigning from her post as Director of National Intelligence to support her husband through his battle with an extremely rare form of bone cancer. Gabbard notified President Trump earlier today in a meeting in the Oval Office. Her last day at the office of Director of National Intelligence will be on June 30th of this year. Fox News obtained her resignation letter in which Gabbard says she is, quote, deeply grateful for the trust you place in me and for the opportunity to lead the office of Director of National Intelligence for the last year and a half. Unfortunately, I must submit my resignation effective June 30, 2026, she wrote. My husband Abraham has recently been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer. Gabbard said her husband faces major challenges in the coming weeks and months and at this time, I must step away from public service to be by his side and fully support him through this battle. She added, Abraham has been my rock throughout our 11 years of marriage, standing steadfast through my deployment to East Africa on a joint Special Operations mission, multiple political campaigns, and now my service in this role. His strength and love have sustained me through every challenge, she continued. I cannot in good conscience ask him to face this fight alone while I continue in this demanding and time consuming position. The Director of National Intelligence's role over the past many months has effectively been sidelined. Tulsi Gabbard had, in many ways different views from Donald Trump's as it relates to foreign policy, specifically as it relates to the abduction of former President Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro and the recent war in Iran. If you recall, when Nicolas Maduro was abducted by US Special Forces back in January, Tulsi Gabbard was not in the Situation Room. She was not actually even notified of the raid until it was happening. Based on reporting, she pictured herself on the beach in Hawaii doing yoga while the raid was occurring, seemingly unknowing of what was happening in Venezuela. That's uncommon for the Director of National Intelligence, who would typically be cued in for a significant development like that. As it relates to the war in Iran, Tulsi Gabbard also had different views from the President. It came to a point where earlier this year, Donald Trump was actually considering removing Tulsi Gabbard from her role, especially after Joe Kent, the former director of the Counterterrorism center, had announced that he would resign in protest of the war in Iran and in protest of Donald Trump's actions sending America into a yet another quagmire in the Middle East. Here's what the President had to say earlier this year when he asked, when he was asked whether or not he would continue to have confidence in Gabbard.

We have a lot of great candidates for this. Please have confidence in Tulsi Gabbard, sir. Yeah, sure, I do. I mean, she's a little bit different in her thought process than me, but that doesn't make somebody not available to
Senator John Ossoff
say, is she on the same page?
Interviewer
I would say. I would say that I'm very strong in the fact that I don't want Iran to have a nuclear weapon, because if they had a nuclear weapon, they'd use it immediately. I think she's probably a little bit softer on that issue, but that's okay. Some people are. Most people aren't. Most people are saying, thank you very much for doing what you did. They are decimated right now. They're going to give up nuclear weapons. They're going to give us the nuclear dust. They're going to do everything that we want to do. And you know what? They're going to go on and maybe have a great, a great country again. But if they don't do that, they're not going to have a country. They're not even going to have a country. So she's softer on that issue. But I have other people, not too many. That's an issue that we, we've had great support. You saw the CNN poll where Trump with Maga, and I think Maga is most of the Republican Party, is 100% approval. In fact, the young gentleman that does the poll is very good, actually, because he's honest. He said, I've never seen 100% before. I'm 100% in the CNN poll, which just came out.

It also came after this moment with Tulsi Gabbard on Capitol Hill where she, in a lot of ways was embarrassed by Senator John Ossoff during her testimony in front of the United States Senate.
Senator John Ossoff
The White house stated on March 1st of this year that this war was launched and was, quote, a military campaign to eliminate the imminent nuclear threat posed by the Iranian regime. End quote. That's a statement from the White House, quote, the imminent nuclear threat posed by the Iranian regime. Was it the assessment of the intelligence community that there was an imminent nuclear threat posed by the Iranian regime?
Intelligence Community Representative
The intelligence community assessed that Iran maintained the intention to rebuild and to continue to grow their nuclear enrichment capability.
Senator John Ossoff
Was it the assessment of the intelligence community that there was a, quote, imminent nuclear threat posed by the Iranian regime?
Intelligence Community Representative
Yes or no, Senator? The only person who can determine and what is and is not an imminent threat is the President.
Senator John Ossoff
False. This is the worldwide. This is the worldwide threat hearing where you present to Congress national intelligence, timely, objective and independent of political considerations. You've stated today that the intelligence community's assessment is that Iran's nuclear enrichment program was obliterated and that, quote, there had been no efforts since then to try to rebuild their enrichment capability. Was it the intelligence community's assessment that nevertheless, despite this obliteration, there was a, quote, imminent nuclear threat posed by the Iranian regime. Yes or no?
Intelligence Community Representative
It is not the intelligence community's responsibility to determine what is and is not an imminent threat. Okay, that is, here's the problem based on a volume.
Senator John Ossoff
No, it is. It is precisely that he received. It is precisely your responsibility to determine what constitutes a threat to the United States, this is the worldwide threats hearing where as you noted in your opening testimony, quote, you represent the IC's assessment of threats. You are here to represent the IC's assessment of threats. That's a quote from your own opening statement. And so my question is, as you're here to present the IC's assessment of threats, was it the assessment of the intelligence community that, as the White house claimed on March 1, there was a, quote, imminent nuclear threat posed by the Iranian regime? Yes or no?
Intelligence Community Representative
Once again, Senator, the intelligence community has provided the inputs that make up this
