If you know you've Good evening everyone. A bit of a rough day for the White House this afternoon after Donald Trump's third annual physical in 13 months. The White House got upset with reporters suggesting that the President had fallen asleep publicly and started taking screen grabs whenever a reporter blinked on CNN in an effort to troll those reporters. But it actually backfired and had the impact of showing more people Trump falling asleep at Cabinet meetings and other events at the same time. The President says his health is perfect following that physical, but it comes in an afternoon in which two Trump appointed federal judges in Alabama rejected newly drawn congressional maps by Republicans in South Carolina, Republicans refused to see to Trump's demands and again rejected redistricting efforts there. It also comes as a large protest outside of the New Jersey ICE detention facility where Senator Andy Ken was pepper sprayed. This morning is growing and I want to bring you scenes from there. The White House is not happy with reporters talking about the President's health. And so this afternoon, using your taxpayer dollars, whoever runs this Rapid Response 47 account, which is the White House Rapid Response arm, started tweeting out numerous, numerous tweets suggesting that Dana Bash fell asleep when she blinked on air, or Brianna Keillor fell asleep when she blinked on air, or Kate Boldain fell asleep when she blinked on air. All of these clips are either still images showing just a mid blink or a two second clip in which you can see the reporter blink. It happens as Trump was at Walter Reed today for his third annual physical in 13 months. Now what's interesting here, he says, everything checked out perfectly. We're going to wait for the actual report from his doctors to be released. He now calls it a six month physical. And Dr. Jonathan Reiner, who had treated Vice President Dick Cheney and has been discussing the current President's health, repeatedly called out this word change. Take a listen.
Dr. Jonathan Reiner
Interesting is that in many of these yearly physical exams, much of this evaluation is done in advance of the day where the President actually goes to Walter Reed. So we should have a readout about this pretty soon. Often his labs are pretested, so the White House often can generate a readout very quickly. One other interesting thing I noted was when the President, when he was leaving Walter Reed posted on social media that he had a perfect physical. He called it his six month physical. So I guess you know what we're changing now from as a routine yearly physical for a President to I guess perhaps as a nod to his, his age. It looks like this President will undergo a six month cycle for evaluations.

That's not the only interesting thing he talked about, including the President falling asleep. Take a listen.

So I want to zero in on something you said which was excessive daytime somnolence, which I'm assuming is the dozing off. As we've, the apparent dozing off. I just want to be clear about what we've seen because he has appeared to doze off in White House events. And when asked about a December Cabinet meeting where the President's eyes were closed for a prolonged period of time, multiple times, the press secretary maintained that Trump had been listening attentively and running the entire three hour marathon Cabinet meeting meeting. Talk to us about that. I mean, I'm not a medical expert, but when I'm thinking of someone who's almost 80, I would think of a little dozing off here, there to maybe be kind of normal. Is that not normal?
Dr. Jonathan Reiner
Well, we've seen the President appear to rest his eyes when someone is talking directly to him. And that is distinctly abnormal. It's unusual to be surrounded by people in the Oval Office and you fall asleep. We know the President is up late at night using social media. That's, that's not really in question. And it may be something as simple as he just has poor sleep hygiene. And when we, when we're trying to get people to sleep better, we tell them not to do any work in the bedroom, to put down, put down, you know, their phones, try and get a consistent time to go to sleep. You know, the President has incredible demands on his time and, you know, he's almost 80 years old. And even more reason for the President to get some rest. Insomnia is a dangerous thing for an older person. It increases the risk of cardiac events, it increases hyper. Hypertension, it increases the, it increases the risk of dementia and depression. And often when an older person doesn't feel right, one of the first questions we ask them is tell me about your sleep. How much sleep are you getting? And if you've ever seen an older person in a hospital where it looks like they're losing it, it's often because it's very hard to sleep in hospitals. So every American should want this president to work efficiently and effectively during the day. And if I was part of his medical team I, I would really urge him to try and get more effective sleep. It's part of, it's part of overall wellness.

Listen, as someone who has a two month old who doesn't sleep, I get it. I fully understand the need for sleep. This afternoon a three judge panel, two of which were appointed by the President found that Alabama's 2023 map which would eliminate one black majority district in Alabama has is intentionally discriminatory issuing a preliminary injunction blocking its use for the 2026 midterms. They're going to go to the United States Supreme Court. We're going to see what the Supreme Court says. But Then South Carolina's current 61 congressional map will remain in place for the 2026 election. The Republican led state Senate voted 26 to 18 against taking up redistricting. This session preserves Democrats hold on their lone house seat in the state. Jim Clyburn seat is protected. I do want to show you one heartbreaking truly moment from the protest outside of a detention facility in New Jersey. Take a listen to this. What? What? This 10 year old. What she had to say.

that they, they need to let all these people out. If they're such big and bad, why don't they. They just take their mask off. They want to work here. They want to work here. They want to work here. So let them show their face. They should show their face. They want to work here. Then show your face. Why are you so scared? Why? There's nothing to be scared of. We're all here. We all, we're all here to just see our family members. We're not here for trouble. We're not here for nothing. We're just here to just see our family members.

A 10 year old should not have to be protesting to see her family members in 2026 outside of the bars and fences of an ICE detention facility where her family's being held.
