We have some significant developments right now. Tonight, Donald Trump will be giving an address to the nation at 9pm Eastern time. I'll be watching it so that you don't have to, and you'll have a recap soon after. But during this address of the nation, it is looking increasingly likely that the President of the United States will announce his intent on leaving NATO. The alliance that has kept Europe, Canada and the United States of America together against Russian aggression for many, many years called NATO a paper tiger and it has set off alarms across the international community, with European leaders and Australia's leaders issuing urgent statements to their nations. It also comes amid a critical Supreme Court argument this morning in front of nine justices who will decide whether or not the 14th Amendment of the United States Constitution guarantee citizenship to those born to two undocumented parents for the first time in American history. The President of the United States will be in attendance at those oral arguments. Donald Trump will be there today. I will be watching and listening, or rather listening to the oral arguments and I will also have an update for you soon. This morning, Donald Trump is reportedly considering pulling out of NATO and the latest threat to America's allies after their reluctance to help reopen the Strait of Horizon moves. In an interview with the Telegraph. The President described now 77 year old defensive alliance as a paper tiger. And when asked if he would consider the US's membership of the bloc after the war ends, Trump told the paper, quote, oh, yes, I would say it's beyond reconsideration. I was never swayed by NATO. I always knew they were a paper tiger. And Putin knows that too. By the way, he said Trump has been angered over the fact that European allies have yet to help by sending warships to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a vital oil and gas maritime passage controlled by Iran. And it comes amid comments from Marco Rubio doubling down on the fact that NATO may soon be lacking the United States support.

We need them to allow us to use their military bases. Their answer is no. Then why are we in NATO? You have to ask that question. Why do we have billions and billions of dollars, hundreds of billions of dollars over the years, trillions of dollars, and all these American forces stationed in the region, if we can only use in our time of need, we're not going to be allowed to use those bases. So I think there's no doubt, unfortunately, after this conflict is concluded, we are going to have to reexamine that relationship. We're going to have to reexamine the value of NATO and that alliance for our country. Ultimately, that's a decision for the President to make and he'll have to make it. We're going to finish the job here. As I said, we're very, very close to achieving our objectives on all of these things that I've outlined. But I do think, unfortunately, we are going to have to reexamine whether or not this alliance that has served this country well for a while is still serving that purpose. Or has it now become a one way street where America is simply in a position to defend Europe, but when we need the help of our allies, they're going to deny us basing rights and they're going to deny us overflight. I think these are very legitimate questions that we need to be asking. And this is going to have to be very carefully examined after this conflict is over.

Now, you can't just pull the United States out of NATO unilaterally as President. NATO is a treaty that we signed. It would require congressional approval to do so. But as we know about anything that Donald Trump asks Congress to do, it is clear that he may get that congressional support should he go to Congress to ask for it. And these comments have set off alarm bells in the international community today. You now have world leaders coming out and saying that this conflict in Iran is an existential threat to their nation. And it comes amid a critical day in the United States of America. This is the 14th amendment to the United States Constitution. The text of which is clear. All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States, nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty or property without due process of law, nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws. Trump is arguing today in front of the Supreme Court that the first sentence does not qualify for individuals born to two undocumented parents. But whether or not someone's parent is a citizenship has no material bearing on whether the child is a citizenship. Because the text of the Constitution is clear.
