Big developments this evening from Epstein to Gavin Newsom to Iran and the fact that our strategic Petroleum reserve has now fallen to the lowest level since 1983. Yes, you heard that correctly. Lots of news to cover on Newsom. Trump administration has launched an investigation into Newsom and his wife Jennifer Cybele Newsom, the first part partner of California. It is a criminal investigation. It's being led by the Justice Department. It's not fully clear what the investigation covers, though there are suggestions it could be related to his chief of staff or former chief of staff and his wife's non profits. But in any event, Newsom says it is a complete political hit job on Epstein. I am excited to inform you that it does seem like our work is working and pushing the Epstein files and pushing the stories of the survivors because Republicans on Capitol Hill are taking note. James Comer, the Republican chairman of the House Oversight Committee is moving, moving slowly, but he is moving on the Epstein investigation, demanding more, demanding more testimony. And so it's working. And on Iran, you may soon give over billions to the Iranian regime and in exchange we may not actually get a no nuclear Iran. Lots to cover Like Comment share and if you can subscribe to my substack link below to support my work. Your support makes this possible. It helps bring important reporting to millions of people, including many who would never see these stories otherwise. And honestly, I know I ask a lot and for that I'm sorry. But to those who do subscribe to support, know that I appreciate you more than anything. Thank you so much. From the bottom of my heart. I do want to begin on the Epstein front because I think it's very interesting what we're learning today. So here is a new CNN article that came out showing that in a private meeting last week, a group of survivors of Epstein's abuse and family members of the late Virginia Giuffre pointed House Oversight Chairman James Comer to allegations. To further investigate, the group brought documents from DOJ's released Epstein files, including an email detailing a list of men from the late convicted sex offenders orbit. I know the email. It's an email that essentially says build out a spreadsheet of all of the information on these men. There are 14 of the men, as you can see below. One of them is Donald Trump, another is Bill Clinton. Several of them, including Alan Dershowitz. And while after the meeting Comer announced he would ask Alan Dershowitz to testify in the investigation, quote, due to public reporting, documents released by the Department of Justice, documents obtained by the committee and your former role as Mr. Epstein's attorney. The committee believes you have information that will assist in its investigation. In addition, a spokesperson says that based on information provided by survivors and testimony from Ms. Groff. Leslie Groff is Epstein's former assistant. Dershowitz should appear for a videotape transcribed interview that's interesting. The Epstein investigation, based on what I hear behind the scenes, is moving forward. It is moving slowly. And after the midterms, if Democrats take over, it'll likely move a lot quicker. But at least right now, it does look like our reporting is working because it is staying in the news. And that makes make Someone in Washington, D.C. in 1600 Pennsylvania not too happy. And so today what we learned is that he launched a criminal investigation to govern Governor Gavin Newsom and his wife. Here's what Governor Newsom had to say.

Days federal agents have knocked on the doors of family, friends and former employees, not because they found a crime, because they're simply trying to find one. They're demanding records. They're abusing the grand jury process, digging through years and years of random documents. Donald Trump isn't just coming after me because of my mean tweets. He's coming after me because I'm considering running for president, because he hates that I've consistently called him out over and over again for his lies and deceit. Donald Trump is simply the most corrupt president in American history. He's turned the levers of government into his own personal power. Ministries to reward cronies and and to try to jail his opponents. His personal attorney now runs the Department of Justice, which has repeatedly gone after his political enemies. Ask Jerome Powell. Sent them after James Comey, James Adam Schiff. He sent them after Tim Waltz and a woman that a jury found Donald Trump had sexually abused. One by one, anyone who has challenged Donald Trump has ended up on his hit list. And today I proudly join that list. After calling for my arrest. Last year, Donald Trump directed his Department of Justice to investigate me. And just in the last week, I've learned that his campaign has reached my own home to get me. He's coming after my wife, Jen, a public servant, a woman who's dedicated her life to supporting women and girls. Someone who has done nothing wrong. Wrong other than having the temerity to advocate for what she believes in. If they can't intimidate me, they'll go after the mother of our children. Donald Trump picked the wrong target. We have nothing to hide. His political operatives can take every record and read every page, but they'll be looking in the wrong place. Because if they really want to find corruption, look no further than than 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Donald Trump is selling the presidency. He's running the largest cash heist in American political history, trading foreign tariff relief for approval of his golf courses, day trading behind the Resolute desk, reaping hundreds of millions of dollars in personal profit. And he's doing it openly. He's doing it on camera. He did it last night on the White House lawn. He's doing it through cryptocurrencies. He's doing it through the receipt of a $400 million private jet from a foreign government that he plans to keep when he leaves office, through his son's ventures in countries where his own administration is simultaneously making policy. His personal fortune has skyrocketed by $4 billion.

Since that is all true, what's interesting to me in Newsom statement, number one, yes, the Trump administration is again going after a political opponent. That is very clear. But number two is he said something at the beginning that was very interesting, and that is the grand jury is abusing its power. As an attorney, someone who has practiced, dealt with many grand juries in my career, that means that there is a grand jury impaneled for a grand jury to be empaneled. That means they are moving this investigation forward quickly, trying to secure possible indictments, which means that they're probably presenting because the way the criminal process works. Let me just give you a quick primer. Prosecutors can't just go and get records for a phone, for example, or a search warrant. To get a search warrant, you have to go in front of a judge to get a subpoena for phone records. You have to go in front of a grand jury and essentially, as part of that grand jury process, get grand jury riders and get subpoenas and get those records. The fact that they've been paneled, a grand jury tells me that this investigation is actually in its later stages. And the fact that Newsom knows about it tells me that it is in its later stages. So we will see how far the Trump administration is willing to go after Governor Newsom and his wife. But it is definitely a nerve wracking time if you're on the other end of the president. And it comes. The US Supply for emergency oil tonight has hit its lowest level since 1983. The U.S. strategic Petroleum Reserve is down to 340 million barrels of oil, according to new data released today. The US Supply of emergency oil has now hit its lowest level since 1983. For perspective, that's about half of the entire petroleum reserve. It could hold about 714 million barrels of oil. So we'll see what happens next.
