Tonight, Donald Trump announced the release of what he called critical intelligence, exposing serious vulnerabilities in the American election system and a years long effort to conceal foreign interference. But there is one glaring problem with the scandal. Trump described much of the alleged cover up happened during his own first presidency. Quote, quote, tonight I'm announcing the immediate declassification and release of critical intelligence revealing shocking vulnerabilities in our election infrastructure. Trump said. He claimed the material shows that the election system is dangerously exposed to hacking, exploitation and foreign interference. Quote, just as disturbingly, this vital information has for many years been covered up and hidden from you. He added. But through tonight, through his entire speech, he recited many of the lies he has said on the campaign trail following the 2020 election. And I want to talk about them tonight. Because the speech began the process of undermining November's elections. This afternoon the White House refused to commit to ensuring that they will support whatever the result is in November. They know they're not looking good in terms of the polls, Republicans. And so the president, what he did is set the stage, set the groundwork to potentially undermine November's elections. Everything from burn bags in the Obama administration to Nicolas Maduro, any election conspiracy you could think of, that's what was said tonight. And I'm not going to show you Trump speaking. I think that is counterproductive. I am going to talk about some major exclusive news that I received from inside a meeting between Epstein survivors and Todd Blanche. So you're not going to want to miss that. But tonight Trump said China carried out what he described as the largest compromise of election data in history beginning during the 2020 election cycle. He also spoke about alleged Chinese interference dating back to 2019 when Trump was already president. See, according to Trump, China's goal was to undermine public confidence in him. Quote, they focused on undermining confidence in the US President. He said they wanted to just want. You sound like your president wasn't so hot when actually your president has done a great job referring to himself. Trump then claimed that dozens of significant CIA and NSA reports about China's election activities were kept out of presidential briefings. Quote, these were briefings I would get almost every day. Everything was kept out. To me, that means that his own government didn't trust him with certain information. In other words, Trump is alleging that a massive foreign interference scandal unfolded inside the United States government while he was president and that his own intelligence agencies kept him in the dark. Trump also claimed that burn bags from the Obama administration had been discovered. He suggested that they contained highly incriminating material, but never explained what that material was or provide any evidence supporting the allegation. He's now calling on the Office of Director of National Intelligence, the Justice Department, the FBI and the CIA to investigate the alleged concealment. Quote, today I'm asking them to investigate how such crucial information was hidden, to fire those involved in the COVID up, and to file criminal charges if appropriate. Trump said. He also claimed that dead people remain, quote, active on voter rolls and described the election system as fundamentally indefensible. These disclosures reveal an election system so broken and so vulnerable that no one can possibly defend it. Trump said. It's not defensible. Trump said the newly released government documents also show that the CIA received reporting out of a plot intended to benefit Nicolas Maduro's government in Venezuela. He argued the intelligence demonstrated the need for urgent action to prevent the American election system from being hacked or compromised like it was in the past. Quote, China and other countries have been trying to meddle in our elections. Evidence of fraud has been buried. But folks, I want to make something very clear. Trump did not explain how these alleged foreign activities translated into fraudulent voters or change in election results. Foreign attempts to influence an election, vulnerabilities in election insecure infrastructure and actual voter fraud are separate claims requiring different evidence, none of which was presented tonight. The central question raised by Trump's announcement is therefore unavoidable. If this was one of the largest election related intelligence failures and cover ups in American history, how did it happen? While Trump himself occupied the White House, Trump is presenting this disclosure as evidence of a scandal hidden from the American people. At the same time, his account suggests it was hidden from or missed by the President responsible for overseeing the government while it allegedly occurred. And whether it occurred or not, that's an answer for another day. There is no evidence that it occurred. In fact, many of much of what Trump said is a lie. But it all, according to him, happened under one man, under one presidency, Donald J. Trump. And so the question is, how did this president not catch it? And, well, tonight I have exclusive information from inside a meeting between Epstein survivors and Todd Blanche. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche met Thursday with several accusers of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. But the meeting appeared to deepen survivors concerns about his nomination to lead the Justice Department. It was about an hour long meeting and Blanche began, and this is all exclusive, first time anyone's hearing this. By telling survivors, quote, I'm not asking you guys to commit to anything today. And I don't expect that I have to commit to anything today too. The survivors asked him why. He said there were no investigative leads. He said, quote, I never said that. He lied. They pressed him, pointing out that he said it in the media. Amanda Roberts, the sister in law of Virginia Giuffre, asked him directly whether he had misspoken. Blanche doubled down. I never said that. The conversation then turned to opening an investigation. Blanche said he did not have the power to do that. He pointed to other people in the room, including members of his team. Quote, you need to talk to other people. He said, I can't open an investigation. They can. I'm just the Attorney General. Sky Roberts, the brother of Virginia giuffre, responded respectfully, Mr. Blanche, what do you need from us to help you open an investigation? Blanche said he needed testimony and evidence. And sky reminded him that Virginia had presented evidence against the man formerly known as Prince Andrew. There was foreign testimony. There was a photograph that's in the files. Isn't that an investigative lead? Sky asked. Blanche replied, andrew won't cooperate with us and Virginia isn't here, so I can't. The survivors pointed to testimony and evidence already contained in the files. Blanche said he needed testimony and evidence. When confronted with a specific example of both, his response was that Andrew would not cooperate and Virginia was no longer here. And it reminds me of what Danny Bensky said today.

The redactions are not the only problem with Todd Blanche's nomination. Todd Blanche has never attempted to listen to us. The crime victims survivors in this room repeatedly asked to meet with Todd Blanche through multiple channels. He never responded. Yesterday he said he would meet with us, with our attorneys if they were present. But let's be clear, that was the first time that that was ever communicated to us. Before yesterday, he simply ignored us. For the last eight months, he's been radio silent and the silence was deafening. Crime victims deserve better from the nation's highest level of law enforcement officials. We deserve to be heard directly not dismissed and ignored. There are numerous investigative leads that must be followed. Despite Mr. Blanche's claim that there are none, Epstein and Maxwell did not abuse women and children alone.
