Pat McAfee
Hello, beautiful people, and welcome to our humble abode, the ThunderDome on this NFL schedule. Release Eve Tuesday, May 13, 2025 this program starts now. Spore happening all around us. Last night was a big night for the NBA as the draft lottery took place and everybody immediately said it was rigged. The Dallas mavericks, with a 1.8% chance to win the draft lottery and have the number one overall pick, presumably for Cooper Flag, ended up winning the draft lottery there on tv. Now, the way Mark Tatum in the NBA decided to do it was certainly interesting. Anytime you have two people left for something and there's only going to be one winner, especially a number one overall pick, we believe that you should probably showcase who's the first overall pick. So it can be a celebratory moment as opposed to, oh, spurs, you get the number two. And also that means Dallas gets number one. Should be a celebratory moment. Obviously it was for the people in Dallas, especially after how the year has gone. Obviously Luka gets traded away from the Dallas Mavericks. Here's Nico and the boys back in Dallas. Yeah. Oh, 1.8% chance. We do did it. We did it. We did it. Now, as they were reacting in complete surprise, everybody on the Internet said it was no surprise. Everybody said that this was kind of a rigged situation. They made a move for the NBA. Luca to L. A was obviously a massive storyline, brought a lot of people back to the NBA as maybe their ratings were kind of dwindling, and in return the NBA paid them back by giving them the number one overall pick. Now, what would they do? Well, anyone. Ernst and Young, the accounting department says that's right. They overlook the entire process. And I don't know how you would rig a lottery with the balls. And we've seen the balls and they had to pick four different balls to be able to get the Mavericks in there and whatever the case is. And people are always going to say something's a work, something's being worked, especially if they end up not winning. But with the Dallas Mavericks winning, they had the fourth lowest percentages to end up getting the number one overall pick in the history of the draft lottery. Now with Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis, what does his future look like? We'll talk to his agent, Rich Paul, in about 14 minutes or so to kind of get his thoughts on this all. And then Cooper Flag with Klay Thompson on that team are the Dallas Mavericks all the way back and was that move post Luca maybe a great decision, or are the Dallas Mavericks going to trade that pick maybe for Giannis Whoa. The Greek freak maybe comes down to Dallas. Could you imagine Anthony Davis, Giannis, Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson, Nico running laps, obviously, because he's in better shape than everybody down there in Dallas. Do they immediately become title contenders because of the addition of Giannis? And now that is what the next conversation is going to be for about a month or so. What are the Dallas Mavericks going to do with that number one overall pick? I appreciated the way Cooper Flag handled it all last night because every time he was being talked to or talked about, it was in the assumption that he was going to be a member of the Dallas Mavericks. Mavericks. He was going to be the number one overall pick. The draft hasn't happened yet, just the lottery. He answered all the questions, I think perfectly. I think he handled himself like a complete professional. And I think Cooper Flagg is obviously going to be a dog. Now, if the Indiana Pacers would like to make some moves, get up number one overall, I would certainly love to see the Flag land itself right here in Indy. But the question now is, what is Dallas going to do with the greatest card in the game, which is number one overall pick, with a certified legitimate NBA pro on the horizon in Cooper Flag is what everybody is kind of talking about. So the NBA had a big time night last night. Congrats to them. Obviously they had some NBA playoff games as well. And the NHL had playoffs. And the NFL is releasing its schedule tomorrow. Holy hell. Sports are happening at a rapid rate. We'll be talking about it all. Dan Orlovsky will join us in next hour. Can't wait. Just have no idea what he's going to say. Been a while. Anything? I have no. I literally have no idea what he's going to say. I assume he's been watching a lot of film. He's got a lot of ideas. There are some things happening around NFL camps. Obviously, OTAs don't really start for a lot of teams until the end of May, but we're getting stories from OTAs. Like, for instance, in Cincinnati, Trey Hendrickson showed up today in a polo.
Boston Connor
Yeah, okay. Yep.
Pat McAfee
Showed up in a polo, walked onto the field with the lads who are working, which I believe are the rookies, young guys in this entire thing. Trey Hendrickson, they're showing face. Does this mean they are currently negotiating? Does this mean that Trey Hendrickson and the Cincinnati Bengals are maybe trying to get a deal done? Tom Pelissero reported that Trey Hendrickson is there to address the Cincinnati media about his current contract status. Well, then why would he be going out to practice. I think this is a good thing for train the Cincinnati Bengals. I think this means that they're talking, maybe negotiating. Remember Ian Rapoport told us yesterday that they think. He thinks that Cincinnati Bengals will pay Trey Hendrickson. Trey Hendrickson said, are you anybody going to tell me that? Because they haven't told me a single word. Maybe that's what's happening today. Nonetheless, there are people that are on Trey Hendrickson's side around the NFL that are saying, Trey, if you want this to actually happen at some point you're going to have to put, you know, those probably loafers.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
If I had to guess, you're going to have to put a loafer don and say, hey, enough of this. He's deserved to get paid. Maybe this is a step in the right direction. Maybe they are currently negotiating and Trey Henderson gets his bag sooner than later. Tom Pelosi reported their breakthrough negotiations. Trey Hendrickson is in Cincinnati to speak with the media about his contract situation. While we got his quote yesterday through Adam Schefter will be excited to hear what he has to say today and maybe just face to face type situation. Trey Hendrickson says, let's get a deal done. Nonetheless, there's more than that happening around the NFL. There's a lot of schedules or a lot of games that have been leaked. A full NFL schedule will be released tomorrow. All the social media teams from around the league are preparing themselves. They're going to be judged harshly on how they roll out the schedule. We'll be excited to see who comes through. Ian Rapport told us the Arizona Cardinals are going to have a good one. Yeah, he did shout out to the Arizona Cardinals. We know the Chargers are going to crush it always.
Ty Schmidt
For sure.
Pat McAfee
We know that they're going to do well. We know a couple other teams. Carolina Panthers probably going to do good.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Boston Connor
Faith. Miami.
Pat McAfee
Do we know Miami?
Boston Connor
I feel like they typically use their surroundings pretty well.
Darius Butler
Cowboys do star power. You know, they've had Posty and others in the past. True.
Boston Connor
I assume. Maybe it's a team. Taylor Sheridan little skit that maybe he put together. The director and creator of Landman.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Oh, yeah. If Jerry's doing some acting in this, I mean, maybe there's a chance the schedule release will be fantastic.
Ty Schmidt
I think Washington's gonna have a really good one this year, Commander.
Pat McAfee
Seemingly everything's going, going up that way. That's tomorrow. That's what tomorrow is about.
AJ Hawk
What's that mention? Raiders.
Pat McAfee
Oh, yeah. Las Vegas Raiders. Tom Brady's team.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Coming Alongside, that's nine year NFL vet Darius J. Baller. Good to see you look really cool. Kind of a shorts onesie there. I like what you're doing.
Boston Connor
It's my first time wearing short like a romper.
Pat McAfee
You don't got baby legs. I. I think you should like. Foxy should never wear shorts on camera. I don't. Yeah. Smart play. You know, he's got little daddy shorts. What are those?
AJ Hawk
That's what they call these.
Pat McAfee
What are they called?
AJ Hawk
Hoochie daddy shorts.
Darius Butler
Oh, I like that.
AJ Hawk
Summer.
Boston Connor
Oh, oh, you got the coochie daddy shorts.
AJ Hawk
Hey.
Boston Connor
What?
AJ Hawk
Hey, it's gotta use pronunciation properly, you know.
Pat McAfee
Oh, oh, I heard about that. That basketball team in New York. That's a tough name.
AJ Hawk
They got it.
Pat McAfee
No, well, no. Pretty easy, Nick. Oh, yeah. I'm just saying if you. I think you should just stick with Knicks. Yeah. That's what I think personally. Yeah. Especially if you are of a particular race.
Ty Schmidt
Sure.
Pat McAfee
I think you should just probably stick with it because ck, if you say it quick, can have a different sign. It can, you know, I think you just stick with Knicks.
Rich Paul
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
And speaking of that, Knicks look like they're about to kind of punch air, take you to the Eastern Conference finals.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
That'll obviously be something we'll talk about with Rich Paul and we'll also talk about today with the toxic tables at Ty Schmidt and at Boston Conner, sorry about it for the Celtics, man. Obviously I didn't get a chance to watch it live. I watched it afterwards as I was traveling home from Monday Night Raw. Jayson Tatum, I believe with how much pain he was in. Okay. And I am not a doctor, obviously. I have been somebody that has watched a lot of sports and seen a lot of injuries with how much pain Jayson Tatum, who is a megastar superstar, a phenomenal basketball player, obviously the Knicks are up at this point and it's late in the fourth, so maybe the Knicks win regardless. But nonetheless, the amount of pain that he was kind of in there makes me believe maybe not what everybody is fearing, which is the Achilles, but I am not a doctor. It obviously looks terrible. He got wheelchaired out of there. Obviously the future is now in. Great speculation and question. He has an MRI today that's going to give us more answers, but I think maybe they're not so much pain. I don't know, Con man. I am heartbroken for Boston and for Jayson Tatum, who has seemingly done everything right and never really got the amount of flyers that I think he has deserved. Obviously we would assume season's over for this year. What does it mean for the future of Jason Tatum?
Boston Connor
Yeah, and it was in the middle of a master class. He played so well. He had 42 points at this point. I think, you know, me and Darius were talking about this earlier. It felt as though he was on his way to 50, especially with the way, you know, he would have closed that game out. But, yeah, I also had those feelings, you know, maybe because he's so upset because of the way his foot looks as he's being carried off.
Pat McAfee
Because it's up.
Boston Connor
It's up. Yeah. Which we know. You know, when it's an Achilles tear, it's just. It can't go up. It's just kind of hanging down. But I thought it was more so the realization of, holy, I tore my Achilles. Which is why he was writhing and, you know, maybe not pain, but just emotion, why he was so emotional, being wheelchaired out. And it really is a bummer, especially because of what Shams has talked about with the changes to the roster that are inevitable after this year. And now, you know, if it isn't Achilles, worst case here, kind of preparing for that. He's out all of next year. You know, next year is a complete wash. We saw this with Kevin Durant, and granted it was in the finals when he tore his Achilles, but he went from Golden State to Brooklyn and he missed the entire first year when he was in Brooklyn. So you're praying that it's not that. But yeah, at this point, it is doom and gloom in New England, in Boston. I'm not going to say the series is over just yet. I still have a little bit of faith. And you know, the boys in that locker room and Joe Missoula and Jalen Brown being the first option. But last night was tough. And to be fair, I don't know what if Hambo sent you something, but I'm pretty sure The Knicks missed three shots in the fourth quarter. They were light.
Pat McAfee
That's kind of their M.O.
Boston Connor
Yeah, they earned it.
Pat McAfee
That's kind of the Knicks M.O. is that in the fourth quarter, especially the Brunson burner. Jalen Brunson, what he's done in fourth quarters, what he has accomplished, you look down there at staff, fourth quarter points to the first 10 games of one NBA playoff since 1997. That's a long time. A lot of dogs have played, obviously, in the playoffs. That's where the superstars happen. This guy's unstoppable in the fourth quarter. He's not the only one, though. It seems like it's an entire team mindset that we're going to keep this close and if we're in it in the fourth, we're going to go ahead and take this thing over. That is a great trait to have as a basketball team. Yeah.
Boston Connor
Bridges. Mikhail Bridges. I feel like when the trade happened, it was one of those things this offseason that was looked at as a big move. And then when moments like this happen, I think everyone realizes it was a big move. Cat played extremely well. Didn't really have too much of an answer for him. And Mitchell Robinson when it came to offensive rebounds. And then Jalen was just so good at kind of facilitating. We talk all the time about Brunson, but there's an assist to Bridges there after drawing a double team. Great alley oop to Mitchell Robinson. And Mitchell Robinson again, I think he had four, five offensive rebounds in legitimately four minutes in the first half. He was a massive difference maker, but Bridges just could not miss. And that was the story of, I believe, game two. He had no points, and then in the fourth quarter he had 14 points. So they really did. They won this game. I wouldn't say it was completely over when Tatum got hurt, but they were definitely on their way to a victory. And the best part of this game, maybe not the. The worst part, rather, would be just the arena itself. It was electrifying in there. The Garden showed up.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, not only the Garden, out on the streets as well. And I had a chance to be in New York. I forget who they beat.
Boston Connor
That was the Pistons.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, they beat the Pistons. They beat. Jalen Brunson hits that three. Game six to winning game six. And this is what it was like. I mean, New York City has come alive and obviously the Knicks have always been a team. What's their name? The full name? The New York.
Boston Connor
The New York Knicks.
Pat McAfee
What is the name?
AJ Hawk
What I mean, long as I was born 86, I've only heard them called.
Boston Connor
Oh, you mean the old school name when they weren't drafting players based on some things. What's that we learned in the city with. With Bill Simmons about some of the people that, you know, back then the teams would avoid certain players when they were drafting when. When they received the number one and number two overall pick. And actually, funny enough, maybe that's why the old name of the New York team was like that, because it is pretty screwed up.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, well, there's people trending for saying the old school name, you know, trying to. Yeah. Trying to really showcase a basketball. Nonetheless, the new York Knicks fans were in absolute abundance on the streets, shutting down the city. Now this has happened on multiple times during this playoff run. It's a beautiful thing, what sports can do. Yeah, legitimately. And obviously they're up 3:1 and we've talked about these stats, especially with The Pacers being up 31 over the Cleveland Cavaliers. And it's going to come up here continually. It's like 96% of the time a team is up 3:1 in the playoffs in the NBA. They have gone on to win that series in all eyes now in the Eastern Conference and once again sucks for Tatum, sucks for the Celtics. We are incredibly bummed out. It looks as if both of them have to get the job done still. Joe Mazzulla is not just going to roll over. We, we understand that. Celtics are going to do that. Cleveland Cavaliers, Donovan Mitchell, game time decision, not just going to quit. We understand that they're both great teams. There's a reason they're still around. But all eyes now are on the Pacers and the Knicks in the Eastern Conference finals. And obviously Tyrese and Jalen, they had a little bit of year whenever they were battling. This is a good old school rivalry that's potentially being renewed and I think it's good for basketball that it's happened.
AJ Hawk
Old school rivalry coming back. You know, Rick Carlisle after his last win over the Cavs became the all time winning this head coach in Pacers history when it comes to postseason wins. And you talking about the different media markets, you know, Knicks obviously the in the biggest media market and us not so much here. So if we can go have a good battle and come out on top, if you're a Pacers fan, that'll be huge for the overall brand for the Pacers and a guy like Tyrese Halliburton who has been phenomenal. But we talked about it being a team effort. That's kind of how the Pacers come to play week in and week. I mean day in and day out. You don't know who's going to be that guy who's going to have a big game on offense, on defense, who's going to show up. And it was like that last night with the Knicks when they were closing up. Well, getting going up 3:1. You know, you have four guys that score 20 points. Obviously Brunson led the way with 39. But yeah, man, it's going to be a big time matchup if and when it happens. We know long story, long term storytelling with wwe. We saw Tatum, not Tatum. Sorry, Brunson and Halliburton in the ring. So that would be awesome if they actually face off in the conference finals.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Whenever we went into the garden and did some gardening last year and knocked off the New York Knicks, obviously they were not healthy, you know, and somehow the Pacers remain healthy and everybody else somehow isn't. Is that something that we're going to compliment? Maybe the conditioning, the depth of the team and everything like that? I don't know if that is a basketball conversation that takes place. I'm not going to put it in there. But the Pacers do seemingly show up in the biggest moments, and all their guys are doing it, especially. Especially over the last couple years. And for the first time that I've seen Tyrese Halliburton was on the lower third on first take. And it was like, who wins a title first, Ant man or Halliburton?
AJ Hawk
Let's go.
Pat McAfee
It's like Tyrese, Hell, yeah. Yeah. Feels like you're finally getting a little bit of love, brother. You've been our leading man out here, and ever since you got traded, we have loved him. And the way Carlisle coaches, the way the team runs. The Pacers are the real deal, but so are the New York Knicks, and they got a toughness trait. Now let's go to one half of the Hammer Cowboys. AP tone. To win the east. Now, what are the odds sitting at?
Darius Butler
So to win the east, the knicks are at plus 120 and the Pacers are at plus 200. So they're pretty close there. A little bit of respect there, but I was just laughing because I was looking at the NBA championship odds. And the Pacers still plus 900 right behind them. Those down three one are the Cleveland Cavaliers potentially without their best player, which is hilarious, but no, to win the east, the. The plus 120 for the Knicks, plus 200 for Pacers.
Pat McAfee
That.
Darius Butler
That feels respectable.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, it does. Keeps them in the game. And obviously you go back to the. The series is whatever they're. The Pacers are minus Minnesota. Timberwolves are minus 5,000. Yep. Okay. They're minus 5,000. Up 3 1. Obviously, Steph Curry on the bench last night. Ant man goes bananas. I got a chance to watch the tail end of that live and then catch up with the rest of that game. Jimmy Butler tried his best. I understand they're trying to do their thing. Steve Kerr is trying to do without Steph. That's going to be a very tough thing. That Timberwolves team, phenomenal. And then you think about the Oklahoma City Thunder Here we go. You know, that thing's obviously tied 22 at this moment, but whenever you think about OKC in ant, man, that's young. That is very young there. And then you go over to the east, you got Jalen Brunson and the boys taking on Tyrese and was. That's young there. It's almost a dawning of a new day for this particular playoff run. I love everything about it. I think the association has shown up in a big way. The Tatum injury sucks. That is devastating. But I think the NBA still continues to deliver.
Boston Connor
Yeah, I'm not sure. Or I. I'm not sure if it was the Luka in the Mavs who got rid of the Thunder last year or if it was the T Wolves who eliminated the Thunder. Maybe check that, because that would be another one of those kind of budding rivalries similar to, you know, Pacers and the Knicks, I will say, with the teams that are kind of left, especially the environments. I think maybe when it comes to broadcast, we just do arena and fans, because personally, and maybe this is just my thoughts, like, when it comes to the environments, man, like, whether it's the Boston Garden, whether it's Madison Square Garden, whether it's, you know, Indiana, whether it is the T Wolves, even Oklahoma City. Like, the environments themselves are so sweet. So, like, I. I like the announcers. I think we can just scratch them. I. I think we can kind of just put. Send them out to pasture, and then we just let these environments kind of eat, you know, the situation that you're referring to. Like last night, we avoid that completely, especially if the Knicks continue on. But it also just kind of gives these fan bases some time to shine.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, we get it. Yeah. And everybody's looking for a shot to shine. Exactly. And these. These fans are certainly showing up in a big way.
Boston Connor
Started with 16, counting down.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. And now we're almost at four, and, boy, we're about to start dancing.
Darius Butler
I know for golf. YouTube TV gives you an option. Nick sent this to me last night for a second option just to listen to the course sound. So I don't know if they do that for.
Boston Connor
That'd be cool. They might do that on the new platform.
Pat McAfee
New platform launching.
Boston Connor
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Might do it on that ESPN flagship. Learned Rich Eisen's coming back to ESPN 20 some years. Wow. Wow. Yeah, I'm a big fan of Rich. Rich. Rich has been very nice to me, very cool to me. He's going live noon to 3, I believe, Eastern on ESPN. Good times, Disney. Plus respect. Can't watch. Yeah, I don't know.
Boston Connor
Son of a bitch.
Pat McAfee
That feels very interesting. But also love Rich Eisen, so I am cool with whatever. That's a fascinating thing. Nonetheless, the ESPN flagship that's about to be launched, I think it's going to have everything that ESPN has, 29.99amonth, all defined in one area. Good luck to everybody. And all parties invol there and shout out to Rich Eisen. Coming back, one of the men who built, you know, espn, especially alongside of his Sports center run back in the day. First ever hire for NFL Network, Rich Eisen. On air hire. Yeah. So, I mean, he's been there, done that. Coming back to ESPN feels like a full circle moment. Noon 3 is fascinating, for sure. Is that a message means. I don't know. But cool, whatever. But nonetheless, we're happy Rich is back. We're excited that ESPN is launching this flagship thing. And 29.99. I'll be excited to see who all, you know, because I think that's the game. Yep, that's the game. Is trying to figure out what people value, what they don't value. I assume it'll all work out. Sorry, I don't know.
Ty Schmidt
I believe it's just called espn. I don't think there is like a big grandiose name or anything.
Pat McAfee
I'm happy to hear that because I think they were trying to figure out a name there for a bit. And no matter what you go with, it's not going to be more synonymous with ESPN than espn. Correct. Yeah. So I don't. I'm not privy to those conversations, but I will say good luck to all the people that are involved. Are we on it? I think so. They said we were. I don't know. That'll be a conversation for a different day, but I think. I think. I think we're gonna be on there. Cool. So we're. That's the same. Yeah. So how does that. Got choices right there. This one or this one? I respect it. Just like the NFL Live crew, you know, on free agency frenzy day. That's right. You know, hey, counter program us. It's all good. It's all good shows. Yeah, we like it. That's how we like it, actually.
Boston Connor
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
You know, might learn. But we. We do like it and we have responses as well. I just wish we could watch Rich's show. We haven't been able to watch it for years. So whatever I heard, and I might have been a part of even, you know, that entire thing potentially coming back, I don't know who wants to tell stories and what stories will be told of it all. But it's like, yeah, as soon as I read on shift or sweet that it's new to three. I'm like, so we still. So we can't have him on. We could do another collab on the show. All right. Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, is a man who knows more about what happened last night than we do, knows more about what's potentially coming in the future than we do, and a man who obviously knows the association inside and out. He's the founder of Klutch Sports Group, also Klutch Athletics. Also a man who is gonna go down as one of the greatest hustlers in the history of the United States of America, a phenomenal businessman, a friend of the program, ladies and gentlemen, Rich Paul. Yeah, Rich. Rich. What up, dude?
Rich Paul
Sup, fellas? How y' all doing?
Pat McAfee
Hey, I'm great. Not as good as Anthony Davis and that Dallas Mavericks team. And your friend Nico, though, hey, we got the number one overall pick. What are your thoughts on that? And did I speak out of pocket there? Assuming Anthony Davis was excited about what happened last night as well, Rich?
Rich Paul
No, I think everyone was excited. I think, you know, happy for those guys. I think good things happen to good people, and Nico is one of those good people. And so it's going to be exciting for. For the Mavericks with Cooper Flag. I think it's good.
Pat McAfee
Whenever you think about the draft lottery, Obviously we have LeBron on. Thank you for, I assume, telling him that he could potentially or should potentially have a conversation with us. And LeBron versation was obviously met with incredible. What he did for us. So kind, still to this day, so incredibly kind, and that. We're going to call you back, actually, because the connection's kind of gone to crap as he's in a car. From one business move to another. But during the LeBr conversation, this is actually what LeBron said to us about understanding the assignment with the NBA lottery. Listen, man, during the ball drop, you know, during the. The lottery drop, Cleveland got the number one pick. That's. I just don't think that was. What are you. What a coincidence, don't you think?
Boston Connor
Wy with the Spurs.
Pat McAfee
Oh, my God. Let's keep. Let's keep LeBron home. You know what, Patrick, you ain't to the. You know, Derrick Rose to the Bulls. I understand the assignment, guys. I'm, you know, so, you know, it's. I had to make sure that, you know, I had to do my part. I didn't want to be a fuck up. I just didn't want to be a fuck up, man. Like, like I said earlier in the show, like, no one gets this opportunity, man. It's zero to none. And I couldn't be a fuck up. So that's what came with it. Amen. I appreciate that mindset out of LeBron, but him saying that and obviously the Dallas mavericks having a 1.8% chance to get the number one overall pick has obviously recirculated around the Internet. And Ky Irving even put 1.8% with double cry. It's like everybody's reaction around the NBA is like, what are we doing here?
Boston Connor
This is real.
Pat McAfee
What are we doing here? Why are we doing the entire kind of song and dance whenever we kind of understand what's going to. Yeah, Kevin Love's just like, come on. What are we even talking about now? I'm not saying players would be on the inside of this information anyways. Players, obviously. We saw what Draymond Green said to the ref the other night. Players are living in the same reality that we are in, and it affects their life a lot more. But Ernst and you, Young, you know, the accounting services, they oversee it. So I don't think Ernst and Young is necessarily thrilled that people automatically assume that this is a rigged gimmick. But I do know that Mike Greenberg, the impassioned speech that he gave this morning about the lottery and what it does for the sport and what it does for teams that are trying to get the number one overall pick, and inevitably they don't get it. I did appreciate that. And now he started popping off at the mouth about how the NFL needs to start doing this. Yeah, Granny, we love you. You're in multiple hall of Fames. You're going to end up in more hall of Fames. The NFL is good. We are a okay in the NFL, but the NBA and the NHL instituting these lotteries and then having a higher percentage. If your team stinks to get the number one overall pick, inevitably in the NBA. The worst team in the NBA the previous season has never gotten the number one overall pick. This year, actually, the Utah jazz had a 14% chance. We talked to Ryan Smith, the owner, and they end up with the fifth overall pick. Actually, what's the fifth overall pick in any NBA draft? You're right. Nobody knows, because that is kind of how the NBA draft goes in this entire thing. Ryan. Ryan Smith put out a tweet this morning. I woke up frustrated, went for a run, probably played some hoops, audibly screamed sun Peeked over our mountains, ran into a fellow disappointed Jazz fan. Remembered this is Utah. So getting back on the horse with the best fans in the league, because it's what we do here. Goal doesn't change now. Goal is certainly different now. Whatever you were gonna get when you were gonna. Yeah, the goal posts have certainly changed a little bit. Rejoining us, ladies and gentlemen, founder of Clutch Sports, Rich Paul. Rich, good to see you. Appreciate you jumping back in. It's our. Not yours on the technical aspect of it, but there is, like, an illusion that this is kind of a rigged operation for people. Why would it be for the Dallas Mavericks, in your eyes? And why do you think the Dallas Mavericks. Why do you think people think the Dallas Mavericks got this? Just because Nico traded away Luka for the good of the NBA, Is that kind of what the conspiracy is?
Rich Paul
Yeah, I don't believe any of that. I think, you know, they had the 1.8% chance. It's happened before several times. So, you know, I know what people may think and the conspiracy things, but that. That couldn't be further from the truth.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Cooper Flag, guaranteed number one overall pick, is kind of what everybody's saying. How do you view him as an NBA prospect? And what are your thoughts on people saying maybe the Mavs trade this number one overall pick to get another megastar?
Rich Paul
No, I think there'll be no trade. I think the Mavs take them, and I think it's the right thing for the kid. Look, obviously there's been some teams there that would love to have them, but I think when you look at Cooper Flagg, look at where he's at today, his ability to develop next to guys like AD and Lively, and also playing with the Kyrie once he's back, I think it helps him. You know, oftentimes guys go number one. And we put so much expectation on these young players, players, and that's not really realistic. And so this allows him to develop on a real timeline. He gets to play through mistakes without all the pressure being on him to throw the ball and expect him to get 25, 30 points a game. That's not realistic, especially equating to wins. And so I think this would be a great environment for him. Not saying that if he went to Utah, if he went to San Antonio, it wouldn't. And I know you think, number one, you think the guy right away way, but it's okay to develop into the guy. Like, there's nothing wrong with developing into the guy. So I think this will be a good fit for him.
Pat McAfee
Dallas was in the play in game, which I think is why everybody's so mad. It's like this team was good, they got a lot of great pieces. They were obviously injured for a large portion of the back half of the season. Post the Luca trade, what could they possibly be, especially with Cooper Flag coming in? For us, we don't really know the the ins and outs of the salary. So like a rookie deal is obviously much more feasible than a veteran deal. So whenever you can get a rookie contract into your room, especially at a key position like quarterback or something in the NFL, you want to do that in the NBA. Cooper Flag's deal, a massive benefit for them in how they can shift the salary cap. Or is everybody getting paid a shit ton of money, especially number one overall pick?
Rich Paul
Well, it's not just the contract, it's the production from a play perspective as well. So that's why he won't be traded. Because trading you hope to have a player at his level being paid what he's being paid. Although that number one money is a lot different than the supermax player's money. And so if you can get the production level high and the pay potentially lower than what it normally would be if you had to have a supermax guy come in, that's really helpful to the team and their flexibility moving forward and things of that nature. And so. So once you start getting to the first apron and the second, it just makes things too difficult. So this is why to me, as well as just who Cooper could become, I think you keep the pick, I think Dallas will keep the pick, and I think it'll work well for both sides.
Pat McAfee
Excited to watch Cooper Flag develop. In football, we say, you know, if you go to a good situation, you already got a massive head start. Cooper Flag going to a team that could have made the playoffs, especially if they were helping healthy, massive head start for his career. Good luck down in Dallas and congrats to the Mavericks fans, man. Yeah, congrats. That was a tough run. And congrats to your guy Nico too. You said good things happen to good people. A lot of people weren't saying that about Nico just a few months ago. And then now all of a sudden back on top of the world. You mentioned the San Antonio Spurs. AP Tone has a question for you.
Darius Butler
Yeah, you did, Rich. And a lot of people think they got the number. They got the number two pick now. So that gives them a ton of ammo to potentially go make a big move. Obviously they have the last two rookies of the year in Wemby and Castle, they trade for Darren for Fox. Do you think with that number two overall pick, they could use that to go get someone big or do they just keep loading up on young stars for the future?
Rich Paul
Yeah, I mean, look, they could, they could package 2 and 14 and go and get something. They could, they could draft two and, and do something with 14. They have a lot of options here. But again, what do they need? I think, I think they're the type of team that we've seen draft need. They've been, they hit it pretty well over the years, years with Castle and obviously Wemby, even guys like Devin Vassell and they have young guys like Keldon Johnson, so they have a good young core. And then when you add like a de' Aaron to that, you know, again, it's San Antonio, so it wouldn't surprise me. They're going to be very strategic about it, they're going to be patient about it. And when they do things, they do it with intent and purpose. And so I imagine that they look at this draft and try to look at age, timeline, production, the ability to develop and, you know, make the best choice for the organization going forward. They're going to make a long term choice for sure.
Pat McAfee
There are so many storylines at the top there. Like if the Sixers get the number one overall pick, everybody would say it was rigged for the Sixers. If San Antonio spurs would have got, everybody would have said it was rigged for the San Antonio spurs or whatever in Cooper flag. I mean, if the Utah Jazz would have got it. There's no storylines. It's just Utah Jazz sucked last year and they kind of got it. So I think we could have made conspiracies out of everything. The fact that 1.8% got it and they were a play in team wild to think about the possibilities. Good luck to all the teams finding what their potential home is. Now, with that being said, Giannis is a massive piece of this. That is why people were thinking the Dallas Mavericks maybe trade the number one pick, get Giannis in there. And if you have Giannis ad Kyra Clay, what type of team do you have in Dallas? All of a sudden it's an expensive one. But let's talk about the Yanis situation. Go ahead, Ty.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, Rich, with all that happening, where do you think the most likely landing spot is for Giannis?
Pat McAfee
Now?
Ty Schmidt
The sportsbooks still have Milwaukee as the favorite, but it's come out that he'd be interested in playing in a, you know, no income tax state. I think that's why a lot of people maybe made connections, you know, with the Mavericks. But considering everything that happened last night and kind of what we've heard so far, what do you think the most likely landing spot for Giannis is?
Rich Paul
That's a good question. Look, I think he's definitely, if what's being reported is true, he's opened the door for Milwaukee to look at things. I think you have to partner with Giannis, given the fact that he did win a championship there and he signed an extension. So part of that would be, hey, to get me somewhere where I want to go. The likely spots, I mean, look, it depends, right? If you're Giannis, he's 30, he has three years left on his deal with a player option at 62,8. He already won a championship. And so do you want to go to a team in which you can now build something that's tailor made around you? I imagine he wants to stay east. And then, you know, it depends on what timeline he's on, the type of patience that he has. And in that case, then you can look at him stand right there in Milwaukee if he, if he has the patience to allow them to kind of regroup or readjust here. So, look, targets. I don't like to play fantasy basketball guys, but, you know, there's several teams out there that he could be traded to with assets that can come back, back. I think he would work with the Bucs to try to help them at least get some talent back. But then that team also has to have enough to move forward on a two year timeline, I imagine, to be really competitive. And so you look at teams like the Nets, obviously they have the picks from Phoenix and in the trade. I mean, I'm sorry, yeah, Phoenix and also the Knicks. You look at Toronto, who has young assets, a big market, he would be huge there, obviously. And you have to believe in guys like Messiah and Bobby Webster. And then there's teams, you know, what do you do? I know the San Antonio, I know there's Houston, but I don't know from, from San Antonio's perspective, age wise and, and you know, roster wise doesn't make sense. Maybe, maybe not. I know people think Dallas, I just don't think they can do it. And so it's not as easy as people think. When you have big names, you think, oh, they could just go anywhere and anything could be done. There's a lot of complications to these things. And so we'll see how it unfolds. He's excited for the league, though, and the One thing I will say is Giannis has done all he's been asked to do, and so if he wants to leave, great. And I think the Bucs have done right by him. And so. So I don't think anyone would be at fault. It's just business.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. It just didn't work out, right? It just didn't work out. And maybe a new home, a nice fresh beginning. Maybe the Bucks were able to get some assets. I love the fact you said I don't want to play fantasy basketball, because that's what we just assume you do behind the scenes. Yeah. We assume you're just doing fancy basketball all the time. Let's talk about current basketball taking place. The playoffs, obviously. D Butt has a question for you. Rich.
AJ Hawk
Yes, sir. We're just talking about Giannis. The last two MVP finalists, Joker and sga, haven't really been playing their best basketball the last few games. But Game five, big Game five, and OKC tonight, which team do you see bouncing back and also which superstar do you see bouncing back and kind of getting back to form?
Rich Paul
Oh, man, this is a big game. Normally the guys who win Game five wins the whole series. They say that's what statistics show. I imagine OKC's at home. Ooh, this is a tough one. I do think. I do think SGA and Jokic play better than they have played in the series. But this is why you have great teams. You have great depth, and I think their teammates have lifted them up. You've seen guys like Aaron Gordon make big plays. Russ has made big plays on both ends of the floor. And then you see guys who hadn't played all series, like a Wiggins, come in and make big shots. And, you know, Caruso's. He does what he does best, as you know, he's just affects the game in so many different ways that may not show up in the stat sheet. And so, I don't know, it's tough to tell who wins tonight. But I do think the stars come out to play. And it's been. It's been a great playoffs.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I think it has been a great playoffs. And you talk about the teams in the depth, you know, not just the superstars playing their best. Can we chitchat about LeBron saying on mind the game about how there's eight other guys on the court and everybody attacking him for that. What. What do you think he meant by that? And how much is it such a team basketball thing whenever it gets to this stage of the playoffs? Because I think couple stars can carry you through the regular season, I think a couple stars can win you a lot of games. When you get to the playoffs, every team has guys, every team has stars, every team has depth. What do you think about what LeBron said and the reaction that came from what he said?
Rich Paul
Well, I think anytime LeBron says something is always going to go viral, but it's always been the team. It's never been an individual thing. And if you look at the teams that's won championships, those have been really great teams. You can't look at a team that has won and say, oh, they have one great player, and so he. He led them and they won the game or they won the series. That's always been very misleading. And it goes back to any other goat conversations you want to have. You got to compare the goat with their teams and also their front officers that help make the decisions to put the players around them. And so. So I think, you know, LeBron's going to always be criticized. Whatever he says, people are going to look at it a certain way. But I think he's right. I think, you know, and people say, well, I'm just being biased, obviously, because that's my brother. But it's just when you know basketball, you understand that you have to be able to go eight, nine deep. You have to be able to have flexibility and be able to change in terms of matchups, like, you look at this Cav's Pacer series. Series, I imagine, you know, I'm looking at it. The Pacers have been benefiting from the Cavs not going small. You know, I would start Evan at the five and bring Hunter at the four. That way you can. You can be able to match with the Pacers and that speed of the game. And that way, Jared Allen's not exiting out, trying to close out on guys like Siakam. They're getting off to great starts because, again, it's very hard to defend that pace. But if you can match that pace by adjusting the game plan a little bit and starting Evan at the five and putting DeAndre Hunter at the four, now, that gives you another guy on the floor, a spacer, and then a guy that can defend, and so it may slow him down in their fast start, that could change the series. I mean, it happened with Iguodala when the warriors, you know, decided to go small with him and. And move David Lee to the bench that series. And so you have to be a professional in these times to understand that things may change. And so that goes to having depth. You can't do that with just two stars. Everyone was so gung ho about Luka and LeBron. I wasn't. I never thought that that would just mean that they're going to win the championship. Names don't win the championship. Rosters do.
Pat McAfee
Would have been cool, though. Would have been very cool. And I do appreciate that you're still in Ohio. Guys, guy, let's not be giving any tips to the Cavaliers, okay? Let's not, let's not be giving any.
Rich Paul
But listen, I, I, I love Rick Carlisle. Rick Carlisle is a hell of a coach. He's been a hell of a coach everywhere he went. So it doesn't surprise me. The chess match in, in that series, in that series, obviously, last game was just a blowout, but when you think about it, all these series are closer than you realize. Losing Steph, I mean, the warriors just can't, it's just hard. You can't plug somebody in to replace Steph Curry. That does not happen happen. Can't plug three people in and replace Steph Curry. So certain things you're not going to be able to get around. But even in the Knicks Boston series, I mean, you've seen the stat. Boston, the Knicks has only led 24, 4 minutes in the entire series. They up three 1, 24 minutes. They've led 24 minutes and 55 seconds to be exact. They've led in the entire series and they're up three to one. That's not stars. You get what I'm saying? And so if you understand our game and you, and you, you know, you really live this, you understand the importance and people will say that, well, the Knicks don't have any depth. They don't have, they built that roster to compete against the team they're competing against. And so, you know, I love the game, so I watch all these games intensely. But it's great, it's great for the league. I'm excited.
Pat McAfee
Hey, what is the, what is the next name? What is there for the New York. The New York. What is the name of that basketball team?
Boston Connor
Knicks.
Pat McAfee
No, there's a bigger name.
Rich Paul
The old name. We know what the old name is.
Pat McAfee
What is it?
Rich Paul
Well, you guys aren't seeming to say it, so I'm not gonna say it.
Pat McAfee
I think you're okay to say it. From what my, my understanding of the. I'm like, I don't think I should be saying it. Yeah, I don't think I should be. Connor should not.
Rich Paul
I'm a little lost on, I'm a little lost on the history there, but you know, if you say I can say it, then that. That insinuates something totally different. So.
Pat McAfee
Yep. Yeah, I think you're starting to get it.
Rich Paul
I'm at the. I'm at the draft combine. So let me ask. Let me ask the history. I mean, someone has to know it here.
Pat McAfee
No, the history is just last night White said the name and boy, you say it quickly. I think a lot of people go, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. What was that?
Rich Paul
Oh, I missed that.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, y. Yeah, I'm going to miss that too, with my mouth for the rest of my life. That's what I learned last night. That is the New York Knicks. New York Knicks. That is their name, full name, and that's how it should be said. Great name. What's it come from, though? Like Knicks. I don't think I fully.
AJ Hawk
I mean, like I said, I've been. Been there since 86. It's been the Knicks my whole run.
Pat McAfee
Oh, okay. How about Bruce? Bruce, what's the name? Bruce, what's the name of the New York Knicks? How did we get to Knicks?
Ty Schmidt
The Knicks are named after the Knickerbocker.
Pat Maroon
Club in New York, which is like the Dutch settlers from, like, gangs in New York Times, basically.
Pat McAfee
Okay, see. See what just happened there, Rich? A little close there. I think he was a little bit too confident. I don't think that should have came out of his mouth right there. See, that's a little difference.
Rich Paul
Get after a little strong.
Pat McAfee
Connor has a question for you, Rich.
Boston Connor
Yeah, I need to spread that news, Rich, but with everything you just said, one of the teams, you know, that I guess was playing with just two stars that never got it done would be the Suns, where Kevin Durant is. And that's kind of exactly what the problem with those teams were, was. They didn't have any depth, so that when they got to the playoffs, they kind of completely collapsed. And KD is one of those players, players this offseason with Giannis, that is at that level of one of those stars, maybe a little older, but still at a. At a supreme star level that's also on the block. How do you see that going with Phoenix? Because obviously it feels as though that conversation has been going on for a pretty long time with ISHB and KD in the front office, where KD and them have kind of agreed that they will work together to get KD to. To a specific place. Do you think Giannis is kind of available for a place like that in KD with Milwaukee? And then for you personally on The Asian side of things. When does this really start heating up? We know the draft is pretty soon after the finals are over, but when for agents is it heating up? Is it now? Like, do you think Giannis's agent is making calls now, figuring stuff out with certain teams? Is, is it till after the season or when is that going to happen with Giannis and some of the teams? And what about Kevin Durant in the Suns?
Rich Paul
Well, I think the Kevin Durant Giannis piece is definitely a no go. That doesn't work. The timeline for the, for the Bucks and obviously Phoenix will love that. But I think, look, I think Kevin Durant is Kevin Durant, so we don't, we don't have to spend too much time there. We know who he is and what he brings to the table. Table. It's just about cohesiveness and sometimes you get to a place where you just don't have that balance amongst rosters. I think I talked about it and everyone kind of went in the uproar when I talked about the Miami Heat and what people thought was a Big Three and what I didn't think was a Big Three. That wasn't a knock to Chris Bosh. That was actually tipping my hat and the respect to Chris Bosh because of the sacrifice that he had to make to have cohesiveness to win championships. And so in Giannis's case, though, from an agent perspective, yeah, I think you sit down with your client and really have the hard conversation with them. But you gotta understand, guys, most athletes don't like to be the bad guy. They don't like to make these type of decisions and they don't like the fallout that comes behind it. And so it's not as easy as people think, because no one wants to get to blame. I'm a very straightforward, very matter of fact guy. So if it's time to go, it's time to go. And you don't have to be necessarily apologize about it. It's business. We've done great business and it's time to move forward and how can we help each other? It's a conversation that need to be had. Everyone does their job differently. Definitely different than me. I know that for a fact. So it's just one of those things. But I imagine Giannis has said what he really feels and I think there's a world where you do this with the team that he's currently on and show that respect if that's what he really wants to do. And then the work starts now. Yeah, we're at The NBA combine. So everyone's here, every team is here, and decision makers are here for the most part, except for the teams that are currently playing. And so it's a lot that can be done and it can be talked about. And so these things take time, though it's not as easy as, again, as people think. It could be something that draft date could be later on, but just depends. Just depends.
Pat McAfee
So you're at draft combat. I think Shams is there and he mentioned the same thing yesterday about how all the decision makers are there. Shout out to Shams, by the way. Shout out to Shams.
Rich Paul
Just saw Stomps. The hardest working man in the business.
Pat McAfee
In your business. I like that. I respect that. In the basketball world. I think that, that the basketball world, yeah, the best world. And he's still so handsome too. I don't know how he pulls it off legitimately. He butchered a dark night, quote, embarrassed his whole family, really. But, but whatever. We talk about what he does from a basketball standpoint. He mentioned that draft combine being a big mingle because we have like a tampering period here at the NFL combine where everybody comes to Indianapolis and all the meter, all the agents are here and everything like that. I, I don't want to say that's what you're kind of saying. This is right now. But now that the draft lottery is kind of set, now that everything's kind of in order, do we know everybody that wants to be on the move? Like we know kd, we know Giannis, potentially, we know the Lakers are looking for a center at this point. Do we kind of know what everybody's looking for? And is that why this is such a good gathering of the minds in.
Rich Paul
Chicago, yes or no? I. Look, I think that again, the players, we know which players want to be moved, but we don't know which team want to move players. And so that's why I think it's at a disadvantage for players. You know, it's like the dealer only showing one car. But ultimately, yes, this is where, you know, look, you can, you can have certain conversations. Not tampering, it's just dialogue. And you know, there's. It's is really 20 hours of it. You're in the gyms, you are in the hotel lobbies, you have in the meetings and things of that nature. So this is where if there's a conversation to be had, this is a great time to have it. You can make the same argument for summer league sometimes you can make the same argument for, you know, final Four Sometimes, you know, wherever you can get close to other decision makers, dialogue can be had from a business perspective. So as always, combine is always a good place to be.
Pat McAfee
I love that. I can't wait to hear what comes from it. We appreciate you joining us. I can't wait to see what the Internet says. What you said was outrageous today. Every time you come on something, you say, just absolutely, Rose. Which is why we appreciate that hell out of your perspective. And thank you for taking time out of your draft combine. Negotiation, conversation, time to chit chat with us.
Rich Paul
It's always great to come on, guys.
Pat McAfee
Who's winning it all this year? Ah.
Rich Paul
You know what, I said it before on the show, there's so much parody, I cannot tell you who's winning it. All right, Now I see the odds. I'm not a betting man, so that doesn't help me at all. But look, I think it's all about matchups. You know, there's a world where you can see Minnesota get all the way there and obviously okc. It's okc. They've been really good all year. I know what the series are on, the Eastern Conference. Eastern Conference, but I don't think Indiana nor the Knicks think that those things are over till they're actually over. So I don't know, it's just, it's just hard to tell. But again, it's an exciting time for our league when you have this type of parody and anybody could win. And so we see the excitement that's in New York. I mean, they win a game and people out there till three in the morning, which is incredible. I think the Garden is the best arena at this time to be in. But we'll see whoever goes, I'll be there.
Pat McAfee
Shaking hands, kissing babies, showing face.
Rich Paul
At least for, at least, at least for one game. I'll be there. You know, that's been something that I've done, I don't know, for the last umpteen years or so. I look forward to going, all right.
Pat McAfee
Get those nice fresh feet on wood. You know, I'm rich, Paul. I run this league. You know it. I know it. Yeah. Maybe get a couple boards. Put up a three if you have to. Yeah, still got it.
Rich Paul
No, I don't. I don't run anything, man. I, I know that's, that's the perception, Pat, but that's. That, that's not true, man. I try to, you know, I just try to do great business, that's all.
Pat McAfee
Well, kayfabe, because we think you run everything and we're Going to continue to view it that way. We appreciate the hell out of you. Ladies and gentlemen, Rich Ball. Thank you, buddy. Rich. He does.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Boston Connor
Oh, by far.
Pat McAfee
You know, Yanis, I don't a lot of things that are being said, I don't think reality, it's like, okay, that means.
Ty Schmidt
Okay.
Pat McAfee
I just heard he said Toronto. He would be huge. Yeah. Which he absolutely would be, obviously international player. Toronto, very, you know, multicultural city. Huge success in recent history in the NBA in Toronto.
Ty Schmidt
A tax situation up there. If he actually cares about, you know, a state with no income tax, I don't think he was Toronto.
AJ Hawk
Do you hear players talking about playing in Toronto?
Pat McAfee
So much money.
AJ Hawk
Yeah. Taxed customs every time.
Pat McAfee
Especially now with how everything going, you know, who knows if that's gotten worse. I assume it has. Coming back into America, always the for even for like American citizens, let alone a Greek man whose work. You know, I couldn't even fathom what that whole thing is whenever it comes to professional sports. But the taxing is insane. Now, granted, they have reasons for it. Hey, you do whatever you want. You tax however much you want tax. Now where's the tax money go? Don't have that conversation on. Obviously can't have that conversation. Nobody wants to have a conversation. It's making a world better. Okay. Is it making our okay nonetheless. But we played a preseason game up there. I don't know if you were on our team. No, we played preseason game up there. I got taxed more than what I made the week that we played. Yeah.
Ty Schmidt
You lost money, right?
Pat McAfee
Lost like 2,200 bucks or something like that. Because in. Yeah, because you're getting taxed on your full year salary as opposed to what you're making that week. And the preseason's like 1800 bucks or something. I forget what I. It was whenever it was back in the day. It might have changed now, but we're getting paid like 1800 bucks for preseason games. Everybody's kind of getting paid whatever it is now might be bigger, different whatever at the time, let's say it was 18 bucks. End up getting taxed like 30 something hundred because they were taxing me on my full year salary. So that had to be a full conversation to go back. Punted three times in Toronto, cost me 3,000 bucks. I mean, it was. It was a very interesting dilemma of learning about how life works. But hey, I'm sure there's good reason for it. But I'm just saying that is an accident. Added conversation, especially for professional athletes with a finite amount of time and Obviously, the bigger the check, the bigger the amount of money that's disappearing from your check. So if he ends up in a team in Texas, boy, no state income tax. Still have the federal tax, which. What's that going to become? There's been a lot of things being talked about that potentially becoming something different over the next few years to make sure we're giving back. But that's not. That's obviously not bad. But like tax Texas, Florida.
Pat Maroon
Florida.
Pat McAfee
Florida has Miami. No state income tax. I heard there was a little chatter about Miami potentially being in the honest. Why would y' all sign up for the Riley experience? This is just me outside looking at.
AJ Hawk
I mean, look, he doesn't take me as a guy that's gonna run away from discipline, run away from the hard hitch. I mean, he's that kind of guy. I know.
Pat McAfee
Kind of wants it all. Yeah.
Boston Connor
It's the other players. It feels like a lot of time with the Giannis team that become the problem, whether they're not all the way bottom in. You know, there's a lot of stuff about Dame when. When Dame came, how, you know, Milwaukee itself was such a transition that he couldn't. He wasn't around his family. He was pretty sad. It was hard to just focus on basketball. And Miami has enough to give back to Milwaukee, where Milwaukee would get good players.
Pat McAfee
Who do you say? Nets, potentially in this. Obviously that's a Rockets. Big market, the Rockets. He said maybe doesn't know if that's the thing. San Antonio, he said, doesn't feel like that. That's a thing. He was very high on Toronto, which is interesting. We'll hear what Giannis has to say, but who knows what's real and what isn't real? I guess that's why the draft combine conversations are currently taking place. Good luck to all parties. I think there's an odds on favorite at some sportsbook that says he returns to the Bucs.
Ty Schmidt
Yes.
Pat McAfee
Because Giannis, ultimately super loyal guy, has been a super loyal guy to the Bucs even though they haven't made any changes. Who knows what sportsbooks know. We will continue to follow that story as we continue to follow the NBA play. Now there's a massive story coming out of the NFL. Trey Hendrickson is in Cincinnati. We seen him wearing a polo and like dress pants and loafers, walking to the practice field with the young bucks. So we all thought to ourselves, oh, maybe this means something good has happened because he's showing face. He's walking across the city street to get to the practice field. Classic Bengals. This must be a good thing. Then Tom Pelissero said, nah, there's no breakthrough in negotiations. He is only the to speak to the local Cincinnati media. Well, I thought to myself, well, why would he be going out on the field doing a whole song and dance if he's just there to talk to the media and say negative things? Well, he did. He talked to the media. He did not say many positive things. Charlie Goldsmith here has been reporting basically every single quote. Trey Hendrickson, a little transpired between me and Zach. We've tried to keep it as little as personal as possible. At some point it becomes personal. He said he was told he'd be fined if he didn't show up for mandatory camp. Okay, that's not right now. That is not too till June. Very interesting scene here as he talks right in front of an ongoing practice. As Charlie Goldsmith, he also said other things have transpired. The importance of me being here in OTAs doesn't seem to be respected. We gave it our all for lose defense. We fell short. So he wanted a deal to be done before OTAs, like, hey, I would like to get this done before OTAS so we can have a full season. And then he says the importance of me being here, I guess just doesn't matter at all. They've done right by their own perspective. My perspective obviously, obviously a little bit different. Remember Trey Hendrickson was told last year, we'll take care of you next year if you do this entire thing. They've kind of been pushing this off and if you listen to J.J. watten and Dominican sue talk about how often this is actually done in the NFL, I think it's a normal play by the teams and I don't think players ever like it, especially if you're the sack king. Hendrickson is saying that his understanding was that if he continued to play at the level he has, an extension would happen. The team has been pushing for a shorter deal pretty hard. Okay, let's continue to scroll, please. Hendrickson set a long term contract with K. Guarantees is a sign of mutual respect and lets him be able to stop negotiating every off season. I'm very disappointed with the communication. No direct answer on if he'd play without a new deal. But I did see other reports say that he would not play under the current contract that he has. He's also said if Charlie Goldsmith's reporting is accurate, which we assume is, it's become personal, unfortunately, which most negotiations do. People outside the business say you got to. You can't take business personally. It's like, well, what about whenever they're taken personal, personal shots at me with the way they're valuing me, I take that shit personal. It's always been a lot easier to say. A lot of players in the past have been silent, didn't stand on values. Telling truth will set you free. Comments that are being made whatever happened at the combine, the owner's meetings and what was said yesterday, I don't spare my opinion, says Trey Hendrickson. Hendrickson, these things are provoked. I don't know what that means, obviously, by the lack of respect. Hendrickson says circumstances change post draft. They're starting to change very openly. I know there are questions around my name that need addressing. This isn't benefiting the team. I'm okay. So saying that it's a weird dilemma. And he also said if I sat here with four sacks, they'd want a little money back. Okay, but instead he's a sacking they have the ability to say they've done right by me. I'm not going to apologize for the rates that defensive ends are getting paid right now, which is 40 million a year. Hendrickson speaking to the media, and it doesn't sound like he's saying things are good. No, what he's saying is, I just want to let you know, to please tell your people I love the Bengals fans, but this is ridiculous. Let's get something done. By visiting lifelock.com podcast terms apply. Sports are happening all around us and we're incredibly lucky that we get a chance to chat about it. That team right there is all of a sudden looking like we could be in the middle of parade season. Let's not count our chickens before they hatch. But the NBA is certainly heating up with storylines and injuries and obviously NBA draft lottery last night with everybody saying that seems legit. And the Dallas Mavericks ending up with the number one overall pick. The NBA is alive and well. We appreciate him for that. The NHL is as well. We'll have big rig Patty Maroon joining us in about 39 minutes as he is retired from from the game of hockey after a 45 year career and now he's turning to the media world was on TNT last night. He's a three time Stanley cup champion, an American hero. We cannot wait to get his thoughts on what's happening around the NHL which is absolutely dazzling last night. Tough night for the Vegas quarter night. It might be the Edmonton oilers year. Connor McJesus might be the guy to seal it. We'll see what Patty Maroon thinks. The talks at tables here at Boston. Conner, sorry about last night with Tatum.
Boston Connor
It's okay.
Pat McAfee
At Ty Schmidt, sorry last night about the Vegas Gold Knights.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, I mean what are you going to do? You know that game three, they used all their grit, sandpaper and jam to, you know, get a W with 0.4 seconds left and then just got outclassed. You know, from the opening horn last night. You mentioned it, Mick. Jesus has got a point in eight straight games. I mean they just did not look like they showed up and they weren't ready to play. And that's going to happen sometimes. Especially when you got a just a nasty bunch of alads like the Edmonton Oilers. They look pretty good. This might be the year. This might finally be the year.
Pat McAfee
Could be the year. Hopefully they're miked up. Hopefully they got make Jesus behind the scenes because they had them last year. They didn't win. If they do, if they win this year. Don't have the behind the scenes would certainly be a bummer for those that don't know hockey as well. There's and they just took the goalie out there, Just ran the goal. I mean, a couple times. That's been happening, hasn't it?
Ty Schmidt
It has been.
Boston Connor
He got pushed.
Pat McAfee
Shout out to Kane, by the way. He's been doing that a long time.
Ty Schmidt
Oh, yeah.
Pat McAfee
I'm excited to get Paddy Maroon's thoughts on old Kaner, by the way. They probably had a couple moments on the ice together. But Connor McDavid, who plays for the Edmonton Oilers, and obviously he's huge in Canada, as he should be. He's been huge in the hockey world for a long time. The casual American hockey fan probably doesn't fully comprehend what this guy is you're talking about. An absolute wizard on the ice, has never won a cup. So everybody kind of holds that against him. Holds that against him, them. And now he potentially has the opportunity with this Edmonton Oilers team with the way they're playing right now. Excited to hear what Pat Maroon has to say about that. In about 37 minutes or so, 1/2 of the Hammer DOD Cowboys AP Tone is here. Nine year NFL vet, host of Everything DB Good D. Bad D. Darius J. Butlers. Yes, sir, baby d. Boss.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Mr. Hoochie Coochie Way down your inch. That's the short. You. What you say the shorts are that.
Ty Schmidt
Alan Jackson designed the clothes you're wearing?
Pat McAfee
The hoochie coochie that talks about.
AJ Hawk
Not a romper, not a onesie, but yeah, just some shorts. Just a nice Lulu set. Comfortable.
Pat McAfee
That's not what you called him.
AJ Hawk
Not Alan Jackson.
Pat McAfee
That's not what you called those shorts in the first.
Boston Connor
That's not Lulu.
Pat McAfee
New hour, new hour, new you. Same shorts. What are they called? Coochie Daddy.
AJ Hawk
Lulu Lemon.
Pat McAfee
No, that's not what you said. Lulu. That's not what you said.
Boston Connor
If you said that, that would have got a different response the first time.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, we were so I heard that's real comfortable. There's some stuff going on with that, but I respect everything.
Darius Butler
I believe you said hoochie daddy, which is defined as men's short shorts that are very short and tight, exposing the upper to middle mid thigh.
Pat McAfee
Oh, so you said hoochie. Yeah, well, he said coochie. Yeah.
Ty Schmidt
Okay.
Pat McAfee
Got me way down y' all shorts. Yeah, that's what you got going on.
AJ Hawk
Because cut his teeth, Alan. Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Ty Schmidt
He cuts other people's teeth.
Pat McAfee
I think he has.
AJ Hawk
Okay.
Darius Butler
They call him the dentist baby.
Pat McAfee
I wonder.
Ty Schmidt
Yes, they do.
Pat Maroon
Uhhuh.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Beyonce didn't cut her teeth in the country music.
Ty Schmidt
No, she didn't.
Boston Connor
Now she's using robots.
Pat McAfee
She's from Texas, but she did not cut her teeth in the country music industry. That is not my quote. That is music snob. Country music critic Debone's thoughts in this entire thing. A lot of good country music coming out right now.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Parker McCollum's new song, Big Sky, I've run 30 times. I was listening to it on a plane last night. I feel like, you know, I've asked Parker for years. Hey, can you write a song for me? You write a song for the guys. Feels like that song was potentially written for the life that I am currently living, so I might connect to it more. But that guy's pipes show through. It's a great song. I think Hardy's got a new album coming. Morgan's got a new album coming. I think everybody. Everybody in the country music world, I think Ernest just put out a new album.
Boston Connor
Blake Sheldon, I think.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Blake Sheldon has a new album. I mean, hey, country. We appreciate you guys showing up for us, especially going into summer.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Shaboozi's new song, Amen, with Jelly Roll. So good. It's absolute banger. Somebody say pray for me. Cause the pills are gone and I still can't sleep. It's banger. Jelly Roll obviously hits. Shaboozi, I think, only makes. Makes bangers. Yeah.
Boston Connor
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
That's like a nice trend for shabuzu to have all the way back to. He has a song called Beverly Hills. I think it's one of his first songs he ever put out because obviously we all learned a shabuzzi whenever one he had to sing the same song a thousand times. And we all felt bad for him as he walked out there. And then he started looking into, like, his catalog. It's like, oh, this guy's got, like, every song's a hit, basically. I think we can. We can trust that. If Shaboozi puts a song out or Shabuzi puts his name on the song, it's going to be a banger. That's a big deal. Morgan Wallen's about to put out 50 some songs or something like that. 37 songs or something like that. And they're all going to be. They're all going to be in the tops. Then he stripped down, I think, his last album, and just did like, like a guitar singing version of it. He might have, like 50 of the top hundred songs at one point this summer. So I would say that that is a success. I'd say that is a success in that entire thing. Good luck to all of them. Summer's here.
Darius Butler
It is here.
Pat McAfee
Summer is here. Starting to get a little thick. Little bit. Starting to get a little thick outside. I love that. We got a little smokehouse outside. His Booker T. Calls. You're going to have a little fire, have a little hangout time. Should be a blast. Joining us now live from an attic in Ohio is a man who's a college football national champion Super Bowl Champion Rider cup winner, ladies and gentlemen, AJ Hog. Yeah, Hawker. How you doing? You doing, pal?
Dan Orlovsky
Doing great, Debunk. You look awesome. What do you. What do you call those shorts again?
AJ Hawk
Lulu.
Boston Connor
Call him the name.
AJ Hawk
You got the same ones on right now.
Pat McAfee
No, he's got no shorts on. He pees in the bottles.
Boston Connor
Yeah, yeah.
Dan Orlovsky
Never wear shorts. Yeah, no shorts ever.
Pat McAfee
That's smart, A.J. you got little baby legs. I don't remember.
Dan Orlovsky
No, I don't think so.
Pat McAfee
Okay.
Dan Orlovsky
I hope not. I mean, no one wants to have little baby legs.
Pat McAfee
No. You know, having big legs is a problem. You know, it's tough to find pants. Most shorts become as D bubble. Call them hoochie daddy shorts because they're very tight, you know, when the inside starts riding up, too. Makes you look like a fatso. But it's not really that you're a fat, so it's just that your legs are big, you know, My thighs have been touching, I think since about sixth grade, fifth grade. So it's been. Not Been easy for me to find stuff with this big fat ass that I had for a long time. But as I've gotten older, it's starting to kind of dissipate, disappear a little bit. Has made buying, you know, like, pants and shorts easier. But then I start to question myself. I'm like, am I losing it? Do I. If I need to, am I still going to be able to. Am I going to be able to get.
Boston Connor
Shoot on someone?
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Am I going to be able to have good bases?
Dan Orlovsky
You just did.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. I'll tell you what. We. They showed a highlight of that thing I didn't know in real time because I was kind of, you know.
Ty Schmidt
Sure, yeah, he did battle.
Boston Connor
Of course.
AJ Hawk
Your violent man.
Pat McAfee
He's a. He's the most violent. They showed a highlight last night and Cole pointed it out. Hey, his chest beat him up. Oh, yeah.
Boston Connor
Oh, yeah.
Dan Orlovsky
He was torn up for sure. He felt it.
Pat Maroon
He.
Dan Orlovsky
He definitely knew he was in a fight that night.
Pat McAfee
Okay. I didn't, you know, I didn't see that in real time. It was hard for me not to look in the mirror and just see what I Had going on.
Pat Maroon
Sure.
Pat McAfee
You know, I was like, holy hell, what's going on with this guy? Top can't lay on my stomach. I think tonight maybe will be the first night that I can lay on my stomach. Ah. The blood vessel in my eye still a little. Still a little popped. Hopefully that'll kind of disappear in a bit. But I was watching how that went. Wait a minute. He had a. He had to sleep on his back, too, potentially there for a little bit. There was a couple where I connected. I was like. Felt like I did it.
Ty Schmidt
I thought, you're gonna put him down.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. I felt like he's kind of bobbled almost. He's bald. Boom. That's a big smack there, right? This is at the very.
Boston Connor
Come on.
Pat McAfee
Oh, look, he got red. He's got a little. Boom. There's a little. He's got good tan, too. He does. And your dots.
Boston Connor
That Austrian in him.
AJ Hawk
Not as good. Well, wise man, they do.
Pat McAfee
Paul Heyman and Brock Breaker got a great tan. Yeah.
Boston Connor
Well, Heyman's been on a boat.
Pat McAfee
Boom. Big right. Eat it. Boom. All right. You should have put my hands up. I was a little tired there, you know. Yeah. But I also knew what was coming at this point. Protect yourself. If at this point I was to get knocked out, I think I'd be okay with it, you know, I think, hey, this is it right there. There's the big right. I had him wheeling. Boom. I thought that was going to be it, to be honest. I thought that was going to be it. This one took back. I thought maybe that was going to be it. Got him in the jaw there. Nobody expected that. And then, boom. He was not down. He was not done. Instead. Yeah, that one. And we can stop. Oh, yeah. Playing it on Morgan and Morgan there. I thought I was going to have call or something that was. Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, is a man who has never done that to anybody. Sure, you're right. Yeah.
Boston Connor
Maybe his kids.
Pat McAfee
Sure. I hope not.
Boston Connor
You never know.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I hope.
Ty Schmidt
I hope not.
Boston Connor
Get out of line.
Pat McAfee
I hope that's not the case. He's got a lot of kids. Not as many as aj, obviously. AJ has an entire village. Once again. Happy Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day. To Laura over there and all the moms out there.
Boston Connor
Thank you.
Pat McAfee
Joining us now is a man who is a 12 year and half a NFL veteran quarterback. Connor, you are not a mom.
Boston Connor
No, no.
Pat McAfee
From my mom.
Pat Maroon
To you.
Pat McAfee
Okay. Through. That's very nice of your mom.
Boston Connor
Anytime.
Pat McAfee
Send it right back up the ladder there.
Boston Connor
I will.
Pat McAfee
Now he's. I don't know if he still is. I haven't seen any subliminal tweets in a while.
Ty Schmidt
No, it's been a while.
Darius Butler
I'm sure there's.
Pat McAfee
Right. Have you.
AJ Hawk
Haven't. Haven't seen it.
Dan Orlovsky
What do you mean?
Pat McAfee
Is he getting counter programmed like we are by espn? Ladies and gentlemen, Dan Orlovsky.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Oh. Do you know. Jeez Geez Louise. All right, let's get a couple things out of the way. Do you hit your kids? Like me and Gunther were dropping each other on Saturday night in St. Louis?
Gary Vaynerchuk
No, no, no, no. I don't. I don't. I don't hit my kids. I grew up in a house where I was the recipient of some of it. But my boy texted me. My boy did text me about that night that your fight. My boy Die hard wrestling fan Dave Phelps. He said, McAfee put on a good show, but he looked like that wrestling shape got him.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Gary Vaynerchuk
That in shape. Wrestling got him.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. I would say I was pretty exhausted in there. Yeah. Yeah, I was pretty exhausted. Yeah.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
You know, and he had me in sleeper at the very end, and I. There's numerous times during that fight where I was like, I just walk outside this ring right now. Ref counts to 10, this thing's over. You know, I could just. I could just roll out of here. Nobody's gonna stop me. I could just run. I could sprint for the hills. And you go back to. To the beginning of this clip, please. So at the beginning of this clip. No, I'm sorry. That's where I got it.
Boston Connor
Sorry.
Pat McAfee
Anyways, so he had me dying.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
In the sleeper hole pretty good. And in my brain, it's. Oh, it's over right now.
Boston Connor
I'm gonna go to bed.
Pat McAfee
This is.
Gary Vaynerchuk
This is a good thing.
Pat McAfee
I could just take snooze right now. Yeah. I just kind of let this thing go. His little boa constrictor arm just tightens around my neck, and I go sleep right now. That is just. And this thing's all over. And all of a sudden I heard St. Louis, I think it was a little child said, no, Pat. And I said, you're right. Holy shit. I found one last burst of energy. I get all the way up, and then all of a sudden I'm like, what's the right move here? I'm trying to think back towards her. Oh, obviously.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Boom. Chop him down. Boom. I watch those back in my head. Those were going a lot faster and harder as I watch those in my head. In my head. Those are really doing something. I watched him back, and, boy, I don't know if he felt him. I. I think he was just like, what is. There's something kind of hitting me here, though. Patrick gets it. And I started rolling. That's why I had to move. I started feeling this energy. I had, like, I thought that was gonna be a big one. Boom. In my head, that was. I'm really doing damage. I'm gonna break this guy's ribs. Boom. I'm gonna break his ribs right now. And then I foul. Say, look down, dude. See, I'm even. Yeah.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
And then that was it.
Gary Vaynerchuk
You done good.
Pat McAfee
Thank you. I appreciate that.
Gary Vaynerchuk
I do not hit my kids, though. I do the. I do the grab the back of the neck. That's a control thing.
Pat McAfee
Okay, I'll keep that in the back pocket for when Mackenzie starts off like.
Boston Connor
Yanis on them hard.
Pat McAfee
I like it.
Darius Butler
You show.
Pat McAfee
What are you saying?
Darius Butler
Show strength.
Pat McAfee
I get it. Yeah. All right. Mackenzie's getting to. She's two years old now. She's got awesome sass right now. She does, yeah.
Gary Vaynerchuk
It's coming, bud. It's coming.
Pat McAfee
She don't want to do anything. You're absolutely nothing. No. Hey, you gotta change. We gotta change your diaper.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Like, is it gonna be better for you in the long run? No. I'm like, yeah, we gotta do it. It's embarrassing for me.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Are you a diaper change?
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I mean, I. Yeah, I can do the whole.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Not a great comfort level from me with the girl. Diaper changing.
Dan Orlovsky
Why just your own kids.
Pat McAfee
All right.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Never.
Pat McAfee
What are we talking? Like, obviously, my wife is much better. Much quicker, much everything. Everything when it comes to this.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Boys, I was fine. Boys, fine girl. I don't know what. Just wasn't. Not. Not my. My thing.
Pat McAfee
Just be a dad, Dan. Don't you do a whole all pro dad thing in this entire. Isn't that, like, one of your things?
Gary Vaynerchuk
Yeah. The premise of it certainly isn't diaper changing, though.
Pat McAfee
Well, it's part of it showing up. You know, my algorithm, I'll be scrolling through, and all of a sudden, I'll see your face going, listen up. And it's a whole dad speech you're giving me. I'm like, all right, I appreciate you, Dan, for doing this. You are a great father. Obviously, the kids are going to be phenomenal. You're a great husband. Everything like that. But yeah, I'll get in there and change a diaper. I have to. I'll get in there and change the diaper, but. Right.
Gary Vaynerchuk
No, I did. I just didn't.
Rich Paul
Like.
Gary Vaynerchuk
I didn't. It was. There wasn't a comfort level with the. The girl. Diaper change.
Pat McAfee
All right, then. I mean, we're just. Your dad, dude. Never forget it. My issue with her is you pick her up to do it, and it's a full flail trying. She's trying to take a back bump. Oh, yeah. In that entire thing. And it's like, hey, hey, hey, hey.
Boston Connor
So you gotta. You gotta chop her down. Right? That just was.
Pat McAfee
All right, let's move along. Let's. Being a parent is awesome. Being a dad is fantastic. And I appreciate MacKenzie's sass. I like when she yells. I like hearing everything.
Gary Vaynerchuk
I assume most of that comes from.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I. I enjoy it. I keep speaking your mind, girl.
Dan Orlovsky
You got to respect their fight. You got to respect that they have a little fight to them.
Pat McAfee
And then as soon as it's over, it's obviously all right. She has real tears and you just kind of wipe her off her face. And then she's distracted. Squirrel. And now she's off and running. It's like, all right, we could have done this two minutes ago. Would have been great. Nonetheless, let's talk a little bit about the NFL. Dano. Trey Hendrickson is on ground in Cincinnati. He was dressed like he just got done golfing. Allegedly. He did just get done golfing. He went over to the OTAs. I believe these are rookies. I'm not 100% sure who these all are, but I think in this conversation he's saying, yeah, I'm here, but I'm about to go do it to this media here. So he goes over to the media in Cincinnati, basically lays out to the Cincinnati media about how there's been little to no communication. Feels personal. They can make a long term commitment to me. They have chosen not to. Last year, they said they're going to do this. They haven't done it. We're at the same exact position we've been for months. There's been no change in this entire thing. How much of this do you think is a distraction to the Bengals? How much of this do you think the Bengals get done? And what inevitably do you think happens with Trey Hendrickson, who once again, we would like to remind everybody, sacked King of the NFL. Jamar and T. Get paid. Obviously, Joe is contract is good. They got a new dc, new D line coach. They're trying to figure it out over there, and one of their pillars is currently in a situation where he's willing, it seems like, to do business with the team, and the team just seemingly not willing to do business back. What do you think ends up happening here, Dano, and what do you think is best for the Bengals and for Trey?
Gary Vaynerchuk
Yeah, I don't think it's much of a distraction. It's middle of May right now, so, you know, this is a team that's got a bunch of really experienced players, so I don't find it much of a distraction. I do know this. If he's not on the Bengals next year, I don't find them as real super bowl contenders. As much as I love Joe and Jamar and T and they can go score with anybody. We got to remember, not only was he the sack leader in the NFL last year, he did it on a defense that was terrible and on a team that was constantly playing Chase. So you guys know this, like, when the other team is controlling the game because they're up by two touchdowns, you know, you're not throwing the ball a ton if you're the opponent because you're just trying to make sure that clock is of your. Kind of like your friend. So I. I think the Bengals, I don't want to say, have, you know, ruined chances because there's a lot of time till the season, but certainly mismanaged it. And you have a guy that has been an absolute star on the field. He's an unbelievable representative off the field. And if Trey Hendrickson's a Bengal next year, they're one of those very small groups of teams that you sit there and say, yeah, they can win the Super, super bowl if he's not, because you're not going to replace him in the draft this year. And I know they drafted Shemar Stewart. I just don't see them as legit contenders.
Pat McAfee
Shemar Stewart holding out. He actually said, I decided not to sign the paperwork, as opposed to, we decided not to sign the paperwork. Just one little word that could have been phrased differently. We assume that'll get done because rookie contracts are what rookie contracts are. His agent, Zach Hiller, I believe, of laa, is a.
Ty Schmidt
A go getter.
Pat McAfee
He's a tough negotiator. Really cool on Instagram, too. Super, really cool looking on Instagram. Yeah, he does look cool. Have you seen him? I wonder if he's wearing way down your chad shorts. I wonder if he does that.
AJ Hawk
I wear them my eyes on Dan.
Pat McAfee
We've seen you wearing them? Yeah, we see you wear those things.
Gary Vaynerchuk
You're conscious of it.
Pat McAfee
You got those little baby legs though, too, so you can kind of get away with it, you know?
Gary Vaynerchuk
No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I got, I got good legs strapped.
Pat McAfee
Up, quad it up.
Boston Connor
You ain't got ham hogs, Dan.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, well, Dan, he can move. He can move, you know, Dan.
Boston Connor
And he can like a gazelle.
Gary Vaynerchuk
I got a little. I got a little hamstring injury right now. Boston, Connor right now.
Pat McAfee
What's it from? Lacrosse practice or is it from working out? What is it from?
Gary Vaynerchuk
It's from the ymca.
AJ Hawk
Basketball run plays like stiff there.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Running too much, right? How about. How about Steph? First time in his 16 year career.
Ty Schmidt
Crazy.
Pat McAfee
Especially with how much he runs. That doesn't make any sense. All right, let's get back to the NFL. Trey Hendrickson's on the team. You think they have a legit chance? Trey Hendrickson's not on the team. You don't think they have a chance? There's a lot of teams that would love to have Trey Hendrickson on their squad. He said today he's not sorry about what the market is for defensive ends. That's not his decision. That's everybody else's. Cincinnati could have paid him last year. They chose not to. They move on. Hopefully Trey gets his money. Good luck. Trey, we're pulling for you. Go ahead, A.J.
AJ Hawk
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Dan Orlovsky
Dana, were you surprised to see the Derek Carr retirement and that whole situation? What do you think happens at the quarterback position for the Saints this year?
Gary Vaynerchuk
Surprised? I guess I was taken aback that, you know, he ends up retiring. Tyler Shark's going to be their starting quarterback, in my opinion. I think you want him to be your starting quarterback. I think a lot of people have the thought of, well, you know, they should tank for Arch Manning or, you know, sign Aaron or some things like that. I just remind everybody, like Derek Carr was his second round pick. Now, I'm not as high on Tyler Schuck as some other people were coming out of Louisville. Obviously he's played a ton of college football. He's older, so that should be a benefit for him. There is talent there. Derek Carr was a second round pick. Andy Dalton, second round pick. One of the great quarterbacks in the NFL right now. Jalen Hurd, second round pick. So it's not like second round picks can't become starting quarterbacks in the NFL. Kellen Moore comes over as the new head coach. They're really good on the perimeter. So I would say start p Shuck and make sure like, hey, we didn't str. You know, if you're the Saints, you want to learn in this year, do you have to get a quarterback obviously in the. The next draft? But I wasn't necessarily shocked by the Derek par stuff. Obviously the reporting around it has been odd. You know, the whole, you know, last end last season ends with injury. And I got a text from somebody the other day that said, hey, not a quarterback, but do you really think. Think that Carr didn't have any idea about the shoulder injury until recently? You know, and part of me goes, you didn't play catch with your kids at all like there in. You know, I know he's video yesterday of him playing catch with his kids. So you didn't do that at all in, you know, January, February, March. But I also, Derek Carr comes across as like a pretty truthful person and not trying to hide stuff. So I can't imagine that it's shocking news to the Saints because of the situation. But nothing surprises me with the league.
Pat McAfee
I assume that he had a little bit of shoulder soreness. Every quarterback kind of feels that. I think everybody that throws anything feels that. That's why you got to get that.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, yeah.
Pat McAfee
The Dan Orlovsky shoulder fixer thing.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Shoulder reliever.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, there it is, a shoulder reliever. So I assume Derek Carr felt some sort of discomfort maybe in the off season as he was doing things, which is probably pretty normal, especially for anybody that does the throwing. And then as he tried to ramp the back up. Wait a second. This feels weird. To your point. I don't think Derek Carr's lying. You know, I don't. I don't think that's something Derek Carr, especially at this stage. They said he surpassed $200 million in career earnings at this stage of his career. Congrats to him in the business of the NFL. Congrats on a great career, Derek Carr. And good luck to the Saints. Figuring it all out down there. New head coach, new operation, new situation. The Saints fan base obviously deserves greatness. We shall see if they're able to pull through that off in the NFC South. Now let's go to another quarterback situation that's garnering a lot of conversation. Debut in his Lululemon Fit has a question for you.
AJ Hawk
Another team that's got to figure out their quarterback situation. Cleveland. Cleveland Browns obviously got Joe Flacco there. You got Kenny Picket and then the two rookies with Dylan Gabriel and Shador Sanders.
Gary Vaynerchuk
How.
Boston Connor
What do you think?
AJ Hawk
How do you see this playing out for Cleveland throughout the season. What do you think the plan is going through the season and how do reps the. Get broken down from a guy who's been in a quarterback room for a long time?
Gary Vaynerchuk
Yeah, I would do everything I can to start either Shador Sanders or Dylan Gabriel this year. I would only start Joe Flacco or Kenny and probably Joe if, oh my gosh, this is a disaster. And if you're Kevin Stefanski and Andrew Barrow, their head coach and general manager, go, hey, if one of these two kids starts, we're going to get fired if it's that bad throughout the, the preseason. So I think Joe is just there certainly for comfort. Comfort. The, the reps. I don't think that. And I saw Kevin and I know you guys talked about this a little bit yesterday. The reps, you know, like in the off season, specifically in that spring period, reps really don't matter who you're doing them with because the. But you know, this, you got, you know, the, the receiver fluctuation of this guy's only going to take four reps. This guy's going to take six reps. This offensive lineman may not practice today. So like, like a lot of times coaches are more trying to put you as the quarterback in situations with certain people rather than certain number one, number two, number three, on the on the board type of thing. So sometimes it's like, hey, you know, I want to see how he performs with the backup offensive line against the starting defensive line, or I want to see how he throws the ball to David and Joku, or I want to see how him and Jerry Judy communicate stuff like that. So that's a huge part of it too, rather than. Than what guy runs out there first one, guy runs out there, second. I want to see him go against the starting secondary, you know, and so there's a lot of that that goes on with the quarterback kind of moving chairs or musical chairs and the reps distribution. But if I was Cleveland and because of the trade and knowing what 26 looks like for them, at least as we sit here today with the draft, there's not a ton of benefit for me starting Joe Flacco because it doesn't answer anything. With the potential of next year's class and them figuring out out long term at least what's the situation. So I would start one of those two rookies.
Pat McAfee
How do you feel from Dylan Gabriel standpoint? Do you like where Dylan Gabriel is?
Gary Vaynerchuk
Yo, I really liked Gabriel. Gabriel was a guy for me. I remember talking to Field Yates about Dylan Gabriel maybe like early November and just sitting there going sneaky guy that could get into early second round. And I think what for me kind of cooled me with Gabriel was the playoff was such like a poor representation of who he was. I felt like it just did not go well. Obviously boat raced by Ohio State and so that calmed me a little bit on Dylan, but he's played a ton of football. He's got a lot of similarities to a player like Tua. Not only lefty and whatnot, but, you know, the, the ball distribution, the anticipation, the layering throws over got guys. So, you know, Miami I honestly thought was maybe an interesting place for him in that second or third round. But I don't think Gabriel is a guy that people should overlook. He's a really, really talented thrower. And by all accounts, it seems like Shador's had a good start. So I think one of those guys has got to be the person that as Cleveland in the next couple months, you go, okay, you got to show me you can't do it. Like, you got to show me that this would be a disaster for us to start you or we're going to start you and see if we've again, like the. The Saints, we. We got lucky on some stuff.
Pat McAfee
Dylan drafted two rounds.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Let me say this last real quickly to end. Sorry. I actually always thought Cleveland was a significantly better place for Shador than Pittsburgh when it came to their scheme.
Pat McAfee
Okay. So on that note, let's go to Pittsburgh. AP Tone has a question for you.
Darius Butler
Yeah, Dan, I do. Everyone has been very critical of the quarterback or the Steelers and how they handled the quarterback situation this offseason, probably for good reason. How would you have handled it? And now that we got Big Ben 2.0 and Will Howard, does that put everything to rest?
Gary Vaynerchuk
I don't know if it puts everything to rest. I think Will's got, you know, a good chance in Pittsburgh. I would have started with this tone. I would have said Justin Fields, what's the number? I would have if I was going to obviously Monday morning quarterback not get anybody in the draft early. Justin Fields, what's the number? You're going to be our starting quarterback for this year? Year. If it's. If it wasn't going to be Justin Fields, I probably would have been more aggressive for Jackson Dart in the draft. That was a guy that I always thought Pittsburgh Giants made the most sense certain Cleveland in that conversation as well. We all know that there could be the addition of Aaron, but it's middle of May and you have No, I mean, guys, I'm 41, I pulled my hamstring playing pickup basketball in the YMCA. So obviously different athlete, much more talented human being than I am, but his age is what it is and he's coming off a little bit of a beat up season and injury last year. So. Pittsburgh. The way I look at it right now, Tone, is there's no offense in the league that scares you less than Pittsburgh and there's no situation that has, I mean, this is the truth. There's no situation that is more, I guess, depressing than Pittsburgh's right now.
Pat McAfee
Worse than a lead, Craig.
Boston Connor
Yikes.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Which one is worse? Like, let's. If we're just looking at it on paper, what team are we sitting offensively and sitting there going, that team scares me less than Pittsburgh does.
Ty Schmidt
Colts.
Pat McAfee
Watch your mouth. We got two quarters, one of the.
AJ Hawk
Best running backs in the league.
Pat McAfee
All right.
Ty Schmidt
They got Caleb Johnson.
Pat McAfee
He's a dog.
AJ Hawk
Take a snap.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Yeah, those are going to be good.
Darius Butler
What about the Saints?
Pat McAfee
Yeah, Saints.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Yeah, Saints. The Saints are probably in that conversation as well. But those two players on the outside, the Saints have. Are really, really good players. Really good players.
Dan Orlovsky
How about the bronze tomorrow Scares me.
Darius Butler
DK sucked.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Yeah, the Browns are probably. But at least the Browns have like the two rookie quarterbacks that they drafted that have a little bit of like. And again, I know Will Howard was drafted to Pittsburgh and we'll see what happens happens with that. But we also know, like, the Browns have an offensive line that two years ago was one of the best in the NFL and Joku is one of the best tight ends in the NFL. That offense is fantastic. I'm not saying it's that different. But you're not sitting here going Browns by far or for sure. No.
Pat McAfee
Okay, so you say the Pittsburgh Steelers offense is the least scary. Is that in acrisure or is that an away game?
Ty Schmidt
That's a good point.
Pat McAfee
Good question. Panthers.
Gary Vaynerchuk
I don't think the location really matters.
Pat Maroon
Oh, yeah.
Pat McAfee
Okay. This guy had no ball. All right. Sweet. Okay. Oh, mama. For my life.
Rich Paul
From the love.
Pat McAfee
Right there. You already get it. Yeah, like you get a little. You know what I mean?
Boston Connor
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
It doesn't matter where it's at. What a dumb, dumb this guy is. All right, let's keep asking this guy.
Gary Vaynerchuk
I got no idea what just happened.
Pat McAfee
Once again, you need to stop saying this, especially if you're in the middle of negotiation for talking about ball, because it sounds like you don't know ball. Connor has a question for you about ball that you Might know about, I guess.
Boston Connor
Yeah. Dan, another quarterback situation you're pretty high on. Jackson darts. And photos are now coming out of Jackson dart. Tommy DeVito, James Winston and Russ throwing. I guess Russ pooped down his shorts. That's why he had to play.
Pat McAfee
Short.
Boston Connor
I knew I was gonna be able.
Pat McAfee
To get that out.
Boston Connor
But what do you think about that QB situation?
Gary Vaynerchuk
Dano, you're one of a kind.
Pat McAfee
Did you practice? Did you do otas with pants on? Yeah.
Boston Connor
You put the pants on.
Pat McAfee
I did. Just to be clear, otas. I would. You're a football player.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
You.
Boston Connor
You kick.
Gary Vaynerchuk
I was a bad athlete, so I probably had tights on to try to minimize the lack of athleticism or the presentation of it. Shorts a little bit.
Pat McAfee
But.
Gary Vaynerchuk
I would say this for the Giants. The Giants are, you know, and D and Shane, their head coach. Gm. I think you probably lean Russell early on. And Russ is just really hoping to make sure that you guys are winning games, competitive, and that the future of the organization is that head coach and general manager. I think Russ can play good enough. We saw it last year to like, give you chances to win games, right? Give you chances to win games. And then I don't really believe that the Giants should rush Jackson Dart in the least bit. I said this a little bit about Drake May last year, and obviously it paid dividends for them New England to play him. There's some flaws in Jackson Darts game that reminded me of Drake May. They're so physically talented. I call them lazy fans feet. And that could get you in danger in the league if you play too early. But if you're the Giants, you're probably thinking sometime like Thanksgiving world playing Jackson Dart. He's got to learn so much about quarterbacking, the NFL and the huddle and the cadence. That throw is absolutely beautiful. He played so good in that game till the final five minutes. Huddle, Cadence. Yeah, there. There's the. The first, I guess the thought process that, well, Jackson Dart would get to the line of scrimmage and Lane Piffin would tell him the coverage and the play all the time. And you know, that's a negative because he can't think. I actually look at it a little bit differently. If you're well coached, which I would believe he is at Ole Miss. As long as he knows why he's getting called or why the play is getting signaled from the sideline, that's all that matters. Like, you got to know what we're getting into and why you can teach a guy how to get you there. But you Got to make sure he understands why we're calling those certain players plays. And so I think that that gives them the great chance to get him a good understanding of their offense. But I just wouldn't rush him because some of the physical flaws, which again were those lazy feet but also just the, the style of offense that he played in college. You want to get him really comfortable getting and out of the huddle and at the line of scrimmage before you put him in live games.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. And you know, he had to make a lot of big time throws, you know, so I think he's very big time making big time throws. Obviously the team was put on his back on plenty of occasions. He's able to run. I love his moxie. I love everything about him. He just didn't make the playoff and there wasn't a lot of massive games, you know, whenever you talk about postseason stuff for him to play in. So I think that's why he slipped in the conversation a little bit then. And Connor found a stat. Go ahead.
Boston Connor
Yeah, it's something, it's. I send it to the group if you want to pull it up, but it's some sort of star predictor score prospect grade sps. And I guess he has. Has the highest score ever. And then if, if you want to go in order, it goes Jackson Dart with 100 and then Lamar 99, Hertz 99, Big Ben 98, Pat Mahomes 96. Yeah, there it is. And I guess this is some sort of actors.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, it's from Empire media dot com.
Boston Connor
Yeah, but the actual thing, I forget where it's from.
Pat McAfee
Empire.
Boston Connor
Empire made an article on it. I don't know what test is from. Okay, you.
Pat McAfee
You don't sps.
AJ Hawk
Well, I mean it's a big deal and you haven't missed. Those are all the guys they predicted would be stars and they hit on all of.
Darius Butler
Did you not see Jackson's board work as well with Day Ball then? He knows it.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Okay, I saw it. I saw it, man. I, I mean I was as high on him as I feel like I could be. So I, I thought he was going to be a top 10 pick. Candidly. I had a general. I told you guys this. I had a GM text me saying if they had a top 10 pick and they need a quarterback, they would take Jackson Dart. So yeah, I think that, I think the Giants are in a really good place with them. I thought he reminded me a lot of Drake coming out last year. My favorite quality is in a quarterback is what do you do in moments of panic, you know, like, that's just the reality of playing that position in the NFL is like you're, you're going to get into those oh my goodness moments. And I remember Joe Burrow coming out of school. I, I was like, he just does this better than everybody. Jaden Daniels had it last year and I thought Jackson Dart had it this year.
Pat McAfee
Okay, so whenever you say probably not until Thanksgiving, ish. And then you rattle off all the reasons why rookie quarterbacks could potentially not do well in the NFL, is that because he should watch Jameis or Russell kind of be a starter and the Cleveland Browns don't have that situation or because nobody's really thinking that the Giants are going to win a Super bowl this year either, so.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Well, I think the thought process for me with the Giants is it starts with this pat, that if I were the Giants and I could Fast forward to 27, 28. I want Brian D. To be his head coach. Like, I want Dable to be the guy that grooms this guy's NFL career. So you have to be, you have to win. You have to be competitive this year if you're Dable and Joe Shane. And so the likelihood, or unless again, he does stuff in camp that you're like, whoa, we're. He's. He's good. Like, we, he's. He's going to give. He's going to be able to survive early on. On. But the likelihood that you can do that early and win games and be competitive and confirm that you're the head coach for next year and beyond is probably with Russell Wilson more than likely. And so again, unless things happen in training camp where this guy's running the show and he's commanding the huddle and owning the line of scrimmage and you think he can handle some of the bumps in the road early on and get you in and out of your protections and make the right decisions and, you know, consistently play that position at a high level. Then go play them. Yeah, then go play them. But I think with the Giants that's different from the Browns is I think once the Browns made that trade, it was a clear declaration of we're looking forward at this position to 20, 26, and we want two first round picks for it because that class has the chance to be loaded like last year's where the Giants have kind of made the clear, clear declaration when they take him in the first round of like, we really like this guy. We want the head coach to be with them. But there's the Reality that they can't go 3 and 14.
Pat McAfee
All right, we're on the NFL schedule release Eve here. A lot of games have already been leaked here. International games have been leaked. Some regular season games have been leaked, obviously. Cowboys Eagles kick off the entirety. Chargers are playing on Friday night, day after the opener down in Sao Paulo, Brazil. A lot of people are saying that's against the Chiefs. We haven't got an official release of that. Vikings back to back games. Broncos, Jets, Rams, Jags, Falcons, Colts in Germany. Guten Tag. Yeremini Commanders, Dolphins in Madrid, Spain. I'm excited to watch that. Then obviously some regular season games have been release. Eagles, packers on Monday night in November. Bears, Eagles. A Friday night spectacle in late November there after Thanksgiving. Obviously that'll be on something. Black Friday maybe. Eagles, Commanders, Packers, Bears and then Broncos, Chiefs. Whenever you look at this, what are you thinking about as a guy that played 12 years in the NFL, what are teams looking at and what do you think the NFL is trying to do this year with. With its scheduling of games?
Gary Vaynerchuk
Yeah, the Eagles are on like every week prime time. So I'm really interested to see. I'd be really interested to see who the. Who the Chargers play down in Brazil. That'll be cool. When they announced the other day that the Eagles were opening the season at home versus the Cowboys, my wife got so mad. She was like, the Cowboys haven't done anything to deserve opening the season. I'm like, you're a maniac.
Pat McAfee
She loves the Eagles.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Think the. Yeah, she's crazy. The Viking Steelers. That. That in. In Dublin. That's sick. You know, it's interesting. Vikings back to back weeks. Did we have a team do that recently?
Pat McAfee
Like Jaguars have been. Jags did it.
Boston Connor
Yeah.
Ty Schmidt
Not two different countries.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Dublin to London is a little bit of a different animal.
Boston Connor
Dublin to London is. Or London, Dublin, whatever. It's an hour 20 flight.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Yeah, yeah. Very quick.
Pat McAfee
I mean you're living over there basically just for a few weeks and Jacksonville has done that in the past. Two different countries obviously a little different. Congrats to Ireland getting a game. By the way. That place will be elect.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Yeah, that's awesome. You were there for college football last year, right? Yo, you know what's interesting? That Dolphins commanders game is mid November in Spain.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, yeah.
Boston Connor
Must be nice.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Falcons Colts in Berlin. That's a. That's a marquee. You know, Germany had what, 2 million people in the queue waiting for tickets or something like that last year. Last year.
AJ Hawk
Congratulations.
Pat McAfee
Congrats against Falcons, Colts shout out Love that. We're going over commanders, dolphins, obviously.
Gary Vaynerchuk
That's a big, stupid question.
Pat McAfee
What is it?
Gary Vaynerchuk
Is all of Europe in the same time zone?
Boston Connor
No, boy, you fool.
Pat McAfee
No, it's not.
Boston Connor
So.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Like, is Spain five or six hours?
Pat McAfee
I assume Spain's like eight, if I had to guess.
Rich Paul
And then welcome to the modern world.
Pat McAfee
London's like six, five or six. Then as you go, right. It gets further in the entirety of it all.
Gary Vaynerchuk
It's a big time. That's what I'm saying. That Commander's dolphins one. That's a big time zone change thing. Majiggy.
Pat McAfee
Spain's way over there. That's on the Mediterranean.
Pat Maroon
Germany.
Pat McAfee
Yes.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Yeah, exactly.
Boston Connor
Germany.
Gary Vaynerchuk
I think Spain's like.
Pat McAfee
Germany's way over there.
Boston Connor
Yeah. Germany's further over in Spain. If you look at. It does kind of line up with London and.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. So maybe Spain.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Exactly.
Boston Connor
So it's not that big.
Pat McAfee
Very close to Morocco. Africa.
Gary Vaynerchuk
So I'm not as dumb as you guys are trying to make me sound.
Pat McAfee
Well, no, no. I mean, certainly dumb, you know, because there's definitely different time zones in different places.
Boston Connor
Obvious thing to know.
Pat McAfee
That is certainly a thing to know, but I don't think we could have told you. You. What? The time zones were.
Ty Schmidt
No.
Pat McAfee
At all. So. Man, I got.
Gary Vaynerchuk
I got so many questions about this map right now.
Pat McAfee
So Russia's over there.
Dan Orlovsky
What do you got?
Pat McAfee
I didn't know.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Who does Iceland belong to?
Darius Butler
What do you mean?
Boston Connor
Now?
Pat McAfee
Or even full questions. We don't need to dive into that. Okay. We don't need to dive into that. J.D. vance has been taking trips, I guess that has been. And I don't think it's just been to see the northern lights. No. Which I think is. And go ahead.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Yeah. And Russia is part of Russia.
Pat McAfee
Russia.
Boston Connor
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
What's that? Asia.
Dan Orlovsky
Trying to visit.
Boston Connor
It's split.
Pat McAfee
No.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Okay. All right. All right.
Pat Maroon
That.
Gary Vaynerchuk
I'm not terrible. I don't. I'm not too bummed about that.
Pat McAfee
I'll tell you what. I went over there for a wwe. I went over to London and went over to Scotland and everything. And as you're flying over, you're trying to learn your, like, every everything. Because, you know, the maps on the planes will tell you, like, up into the right is this. Up until the left is this. I don't think the American education system did a good job on the whole geography.
Boston Connor
I don't know.
Ty Schmidt
Oh, yeah. We don't give a. About anyone else.
Pat McAfee
What about Canada, dude, the Geography Bowl, Remember? I wanted.
Gary Vaynerchuk
I don't know My kids. I feel my kids know more about world geography than American geography, which is.
Pat McAfee
Part of the problem. That is a part of the problem.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Yeah, we got. We gotta. I gotta take them. I gotta take them to like Washington D.C. this summer or something and have some conversations.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I'm sure that'll help it all out.
Boston Connor
That's because they're in it, though. The further you get away from it, the less you know about the world geography and the more you know about the United States.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, that's why the Are youe Smarter in a Fifth Grade.
Ty Schmidt
Exactly.
Pat McAfee
Was so good because these are all fifth grade type things. All right, Dan, one last question for you from Ty about those international games. And you.
Gary Vaynerchuk
I got a question for D. But too. When we end. Just real quickly. Sorry.
Pat McAfee
By all means.
AJ Hawk
Seven continent.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, it's true.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Yes. Seven continents, but yep, you. When you guys started the show and whatnot, we were talking about wrestling. You were in a fight with me in college. I don't remember.
Pat McAfee
Or is that night club?
Gary Vaynerchuk
You absolutely were a part of that fight.
AJ Hawk
Look, I told you. When. When Pat in. In the intro, he said, this guy's never. I said, hey, wait, wait a minute, minute. No, this.
Pat McAfee
This Dan.
AJ Hawk
You see this? 41 year old Dan is not the.
Gary Vaynerchuk
21 in a fight with all of us at Assumption College.
Boston Connor
Oh, Assumption.
AJ Hawk
Allegedly.
Pat McAfee
Watch your mouth, Dan. DB Wasn't there.
Gary Vaynerchuk
He was there.
Pat McAfee
Nobody could track him. There's no photos of Deb.
Ty Schmidt
It might have been that one time Dan tried Captain Morgan.
Boston Connor
Yeah. He said, no.
Pat McAfee
No, that was the last time. Yep. Is that what it was, Dano? So let me get this straight. You were a. A booze bag brawler back in the day? Is that what I'm picking up here?
Gary Vaynerchuk
No, no, no, no, no, no, no. But I. We went up to Assumption just because we had a teammate debut. I'm talking about who had a boy who played hoop at Assumption in Worcester. And one thing led to another, someone said something that they shouldn't and that person flying out the front door. And.
Pat McAfee
You said that. Yeah. No, Derelovsky was just probably with the team. We're not saying.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Yeah, I was just there with my boys.
AJ Hawk
Yeah.
Gary Vaynerchuk
It wasn't sent to me.
AJ Hawk
Anybody who's been on the team and you've been in foreign territory, you know, things happen.
Pat McAfee
Absolutely. Absolutely. Okay, last question here about teams. I'm happy to hear that about you, Dan. I'm happy to hear that.
AJ Hawk
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
I'm pretty pumped to hear that. Guys pulling hamstrings now playing pickup basketball. Bo is a 41 year old, but.
Ty Schmidt
Back in the day, violent champion.
Pat McAfee
He was a violent champion. Okay, congrats, Daniels.
Boston Connor
See that tape?
Pat McAfee
All right, last question here about these schedules and the international one that we kind of alluded to a little bit there. Young quarterback gonna have to deal with it. I'll go ahead, Ty.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, Dan. Typically, you know, the back to back overseas is, you know, reserved for a team that sucks ass like the Jaguars or something like that. So it's kind of weird that they're having the Vikings do that considering how good they were last year. What do you think the outlook is or I guess like maybe the ceiling on the Vikings this year with J.J. mcCarthy at quarterback?
Gary Vaynerchuk
Yeah, I think the Vikings could be very similar to what they were last year as a team. And I think McCarthy can play very similar production wise to what Sam Darnold did last year. Everyone knows how high I have for a long time been on Sam Darnold, but I've been equally as high on J.J. mcCarthy. I think he's carbon copy made for that offense. His skill set and what he does well and what he doesn't. The way he's been trained, trained and brought up is perfect for that offense. I've been a huge fan of McCarthy's. I call it JJ McCarthy's first game in college when he got on the field, his very first game against Western Michigan and I remember he made a play and I was like, why is this guy not the starting quarterback today? And you saw his career end at Michigan and then the opportunity to play in the preseason a little bit last year. Everyone you talk to about JJ McCarthy talks about like the characteristics, the mentality, the mindset, who he is before they ever talk about what he is on the football field. He's an ultra athletic dude who's got a big time arm. I think he plays with fantastic feet because of the way he was coached in college. That's why he's the perfect fit for what they like to do in Minnesota. And I think that Minnesota will have at worst top five offensive line in the NFL. We all know that their perimeter players are absolutely sensational. Keeping AJ Was big. I think their defense is going to be even better this year than it was last year. If their secondary play is just a little bit better, better. Minnesota, I believe, will be right where they were, right where they were as a season team last year.
Pat McAfee
Tough back to back international games. Good luck to all of them having to handle all of the logistics and everything like that. Dano, we appreciate the hell out of you Joining us, brother?
AJ Hawk
Oh, yeah.
Gary Vaynerchuk
Thanks, guys.
Pat McAfee
What's your future? Has that been figured out?
Gary Vaynerchuk
I think that's still being figured out.
Pat McAfee
Us too, brother. Ladies and gentlemen, gentlemen, Dan Orlofsky. It was a good sign. Before we have the big rig, join us. Hembo sent me some stats here. Most sacks in the last two seasons. Most sacks in the last two seasons. Miles Garrett, 28 sacks over the last two seasons. He's making $40 million a year. Daniel Hunter, 28 1/2 sacks over the last two years. He's making 13:35.6 million per year. TJ 30 1/2 sacks over the last 2 years. He's currently making $28 million a year. But he is renegotiating, we assume, with the Pittsburgh Steelers, maybe. Trey Hendrickson, 35 sacks over the last two seasons.
Boston Connor
Damn.
Pat McAfee
35 sacks over the last two seasons. Currently on 21 million a year.
Rich Paul
Wow.
Pat McAfee
Okay. So. So that's just something to look at. Why Trey Hendrickson's like, hey, if you keep doing this, I'm going to have to stand up for myself.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Boston Connor
Wait, yeah. Can you say that again?
Pat McAfee
What.
Boston Connor
How. How many is he making in comparison to Miles Garrett?
Pat McAfee
Miles Garrett had 28 sacks over the last two season. Now, Myles Garrett obviously contributes. Other than just obviously, we're all. We all in understanding. Understandment of that. But whenever you're a pass rusher, getting to the passer is everything. Myles Garrett has 28 sacks over the last two seasons. He's making $40 million a year. Trey Hendrickson has 35 sacks over the last two years. He's making 21 million a year. Which is exactly what Trey Hendrickson is trying to say. I'm being very reasonable here. Wow, can we please just do something? And I think it's why he showed face up there today was just like, if, well, the Cincinnati media. Will you do some. Will you do some journalism here? Like, hey, this is not. I'm trying to be as good as possible. And he's tried to be as professional as, as possible. We can tell you he hated coming on our show saying that. It was very obvious he was uncomfortable being like, I. I don't know what to do. I don't know what else to do other than this, because all he wants to do is show up with no gloves and go gets quarterback. That's really all he wants to do. He just so happens to be in an organization that is just going to be like, well, you're either going to be a prick or we're going to continue to do that and Ty, you're not notion is.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, I think we have a textbook basketball situation here. Squeaks Gari, in that film, basically says to the two guys, hey, listen, if you guys rip on me 13 or 14 more times, I'm out of here. Same deal with Trey Hendrickson. Listen, you guys can disrespect me and rip me, you know, 13, 14 more times, and that's fine. I'll eat it. We get past that, I'm done. I'm out of here.
Pat McAfee
And I think we're at the.
Ty Schmidt
I think we're at the 13th or the 14th time, because he was talking.
Pat McAfee
Talking about two offseason ago. Last offseason. It's like, Trey is try. It feels like Trey is like, I am trying my absolute best to be as professional as possible. But I've looked around the league, and whenever you finally just say those people get rewarded, it happened in the Bengals building. Yeah, it has already happened. He's like, I don't want to have to do that. Why are you forcing me to do that? Is basically how Trey Hendrickson is operating in my eyes. AJ Is that how you see it?
Dan Orlovsky
Oh, for sure. And for the fact that he came, I. I thought earlier, yeah, this is a good sign he's showing up. But then I'm thinking, absolutely, probably not a great sign after you hear what he has to say, because he just wants to get his message across because we're only here in kind of the Bengals side. But, yeah, I would assume he's pushing them to do something one way or the other. Hey, pay me what I deserve or find a way to move me. Like, I would assume he just wants to play.
Pat McAfee
How about him? Just talking to the boys here. Hey, good to see you. I'm about to go talk to the media. What are you gonna say? I'm gonna tell the truth. Yeah. All right. It's about time. I'm happy Trey's doing this because this is out of his comfort. Comfort zone.
Boston Connor
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
This is very much out of Trey's comfort zone. If it ends up with him getting a deal that he has earned, obviously on the field, congrats to him. But Bengals, come on. Just a little communication and let the guy go. Yeah. You know, he's 30 years old, and they're gonna say, no, we don't have to do that at all. Just like they said about T. Higgins. When? Two years ago, three years ago, whatever it was, they were like, you know, a lot of people would trade you for T. Higgins. T. Higgins on contract with us. That's kind of how the Bengals have been. They can say that about Trey. I guess they can do that. And dis, disrespect a guy who's the sack king in the NFL. He's 30 years old. He's done everything right. Pay the man. Pay the man his money. Pat Maroon
What's up boys? How are we?
Pat McAfee
Hey, how was TV last night on tnt? Did you feel comfortable in there, huh? Get some minutes. You feel like you were really flying by?
Pat Maroon
I really want to throw a sucker punch at biz. No, but it was great. It was fun. You know, obviously we all know that, you know, it can be it's on the fly stuff. So a little nervous at the start. But as as the games went on, you know, the better I got, so the more flow.
Pat McAfee
Well, I think for you the good news is we all think you're a legend in the sports world. Will be lucky if you continue to talk because your resume is a great one and I think your personality is a fantastic one that we have learned and hockey is better now that we're learning more about the players. Let's talk a little bit about the current playoffs. Last last night Edmonton Oilers smack the Vegas Golden Knights. Is this the year for Connor McDavid? Obviously you've won three Stanley Cups. You've been a part of a lot of great teams. Does this Edmonton Oilers team have the team that has the capability to go on a run? And what do you think is different from this year's Edmonton team versus maybe last year's Edmonton team? Edmonton team.
Pat Maroon
Patty, I think where we all question where Edmonton lacks right now is goaltending. Were they going to find goaltending the playoffs? We knew that was a struggle for them the last last few seasons you know, Calvin Picker came in, he played unbelievable. He gets hurt. Now they're going back to Skinner, who just got pulled in that series. We all have question marks on him, but he came up big last night. He played a heck of a game. The guys played really good for him. But I think where Edmonton fairs between the last few years, they're depth in scoring. They have four lines that are deep right now. They can play the game both sides of the puck. They're not just relying on Connor and Leon to do the dirty work. They're relying on everyone.
Pat McAfee
Connor's special, right? I mean, he's just a different animal. And is it just. He's faster. It seems like when I'm watching, he's just faster than Everybody. He's in 2x speed than everybody else. Is that what makes him so special or what is it?
Pat Maroon
Well, I think he's fast, too, but I think he. His hockey IQ is which people don't forget. Like, he thinks the game one second, two seconds quicker than what they're. You know, what everyone else is thinking, right? So he's a half a second faster than. Than a lot of people that are making plays right now. And that's why he's the best player in the world. I mean, he's doing at a high pace, too. He's doing at full speed, which a lot of people can't do. You know, some players have to slow the game down, let the game come to them. He does at a full pace. And his hockey IQ is off the charts. He finds ways, but he's thinking the game one step, you know, further than the next guy.
Pat McAfee
I think he's great for hockey because even people that don't know hockey see him on the ice, it's like, jesus, what is that thing right there? He is Buzzsaw. Maybe this is the year for them. Go ahead, A.J.
Dan Orlovsky
Yeah, Pat, I know. Ovechkin and the boys down 3:1 right now. What are the chances, you think, that they can find a way to turn this thing around and win this series?
Pat Maroon
Oh, man. I mean, Carolina is playing great. I think we got to give hats off to Carolina. They stick in their structure. They're playing great hockey. They're making it really frustrated on Washington right now, but I think Washington honestly just needs to get back to the basics. They have a big, heavy team. They're not the fastest team, but I think they need to get more puck, stall. They needed to make it difficult on their. On their D. Carolinas, they're not that big back there. They Got to be more physical, you know, don't let them go 200ft. It seems like their breakouts have been way too easy. So, I mean, it's going to be difficult. Carolina's playing the best hockey I've seen that play in the postseason. But I think if they just get back to just the basics and playing heavy, making it hard for them to go 200ft so they don't get to their offense, I think they get. They'll be fine. But it's going to to be difficult. They need their big guys, their big guns to step up, and game five has got to be it.
Pat McAfee
I love this Capitals team. I love the story of the year. The Hurricanes were the favorites going into this series. I think a lot of us that maybe didn't watch the entire season were like, what, what, what? And then you watch them do their thing. Great team. Speaking of great teams, let's go down to potentially the state of hockey. DBUT has a question for you.
AJ Hawk
Yeah. New hockey town down to Sunrise, Florida. I've been Panthers.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
AJ Hawk
And obviously you went back to back with Tampa. So you want to ask you. And obviously they're in the battle right now with Toronto. What's the biggest challenge of going back to back in the NHL playoffs?
Pat Maroon
Well, I think just the physicality that you go through throughout the playoffs and throughout the regular season. The guys that get injured, guys are coming back from injury. They might still be a little banged up, but I think for a guy, you know, teams that done it like Pittsburgh and Tampa. But I think with Florida, it seems like they're pretty healthy right now. They got a better team probably than last year on paper. You know, they brought some key guys in. I mean, but Florida just plays the right way all the time. And it's exhausting for teams. And they had the makeup for the teams, but I think for them, they just got to continue what they're doing. But it's going to be difficult. It's hard to go back to back, but I think if any team can do it, it's the Florida Panthers.
Pat McAfee
Is it the short off season that you have? Is it trying to refine the magic? What is it down there? And Obviously you win three straight with Tampa, St. Louis. Tampa, Tampa. Obviously you go on two different teams able to win three straight. Is it the short off season? Is it retrying to find the magic? Is it getting lucky health wise? Is it all the above? What is it you think?
Pat Maroon
Well, I think lucky. I think the big thing in playoff hockey is a lot, you know, you need goaltending. One, we have great goaltending. You have good bounces. But I think the other part is you got to stay healthy in the playoffs. If you guys, if you're too banged up and you have your key guys out of the playoffs that can help you and kind of, you know, the key guys that kind of generate your offense or key guys are going to change the game for you. You need that and I feel like Florida has that right now. They're all healthy right now. It's a good team, they're great coach and it's going to be fun to watch. I think Toronto's been better this year. They have a better makeup of a team. They're a little, they have a little more pushback. So. But I think with Florida, man, they're to going to be, they're going to be the team to beat right now. So I mean Toronto, Toronto's got their hands full.
Pat McAfee
We'll continue this conversation with the big wig, three time standing cup champion, Patty Maroon on YouTube, ESPN plus Disney plus and tick tock live. We'll see you tomorrow on ESPN. Be a friend. Tell a friend something nice. It might change their life. Perfect ending there with you hammering that water bottle. We are just on digital now. We will continue. People are still watching. A lot of people are still watching. So you need to know that we are doing just off espn, the Linear Network. You just mentioned a team right there, the Toronto squad. Connor has a question for you, Pat.
Boston Connor
Yeah, Patty, let me just say first too, your lettuce looked unbelievable last night back. It was fantastic. But with Toronto, something that's going on with them is kind of Auston. Matthews hasn't really been who he is basically the entire playoffs, but especially in this series versus the Leafs. And then you know, you mentioned goaltending too with Winnipeg. You know, Hellbach hasn't really been his best self on the road at least. What are the vibes like when you're in a locker room and the guys that are your best players, your stars aren't kind of getting it done and the team's slipping a little bit. Is it, is it high tension? Is it more so, you know, motivation for those guys even though they know what they have to do? What's that like? And do you see those two kind of bouncing back in these, you know, last few games? Because obviously Toronto now is a three game series here.
Pat Maroon
Yeah, I mean they're, I mean those two players are competitors first. You know, they know what's at stake. They probably know they're not at their best right now, but I think we all forget the ice shrinks, especially for Auston Matthews in the playoffs. It gets harder and harder each game, each series. The longer you move on, it's going to get harder for these guys, but it's, I think for the Mojo in the locker room, I think you just got to stick there with them, right? Hey, it's going to be all right. You know, we have all the confidence in the world. You've been our best player for the last, you know, few years. You know, you're going to be there, your time is going to break through, you know, and sometimes you just got to work through those, you know, those things that you're struggling with. I guess if he's not getting enough scoring chances, find ways to get to the net, find ways, you know, get on the forecheck, create a little more havoc for yourself. So I got full belief in him. You know, he's a true goal scorer. He's one of the best players in the league. He's going to find time to get out of it. And I think the most important hollaback, I mean, goalies are streaky, man, especially in the playoffs. You never know what you're going to get out of a goalie. And it seems to me that he's struggling on the road. I don't know why, but it seems like to me you do a lot of video. I think people forget you do a lot of video during playoffs. These coaches and you see their weaknesses and their tendencies in the pregame. So these guys take advantage of it so you know where to shoot and all their weaknesses. And when you have a seven game series like that, eventually you're going to keep wearing it down, keep wearing it down and finding ways to break down this goalie. And it seems like guys are starting to get figured this out. So, you know, it's, that's what it seems to me. You know, these, these video coaches. Now these coaches, coaches are so dialed in with this stuff and they find ways to, you know, you know, find their weaknesses in these goalies. So I mean, hopefully he can bounce back here. He's a heck of a goalie. He's obviously going to win the Veza this year, but I just love to see him bounce back and kind of get this playoff mojo like he has the regular season.
Pat McAfee
So when a pitcher is throwing like a perfect game or playing well, nobody talks to him. That's like a thing. When a kicker is doing his thing, nobody really talks to him. When a goalie is either struggling or doing very well. What are the conversations you guys are having with the goalies? It just kind of like just stay away from the goalie. Let the freak kind of do his thing.
Pat Maroon
Yeah, I mean, I've never really bothered goalie in the playoffs. I kind of just leave him alone. Especially when he's, you know, he's in the zone, he's feeling it. You just kind of. Unless he's talking to you, you'll, you'll talk. But if he's not talking, then you just got to say, hey, good game. Leave it alone. You know, so they're, they got, they're pretty dialed in. They're pretty zone and you know, goalies have always been weird in the hockey world, so they're, they're a bunch of weirdos.
Pat McAfee
So pretty isolated position, you know, but just getting clapped at too the entire day. And I mean Mark Andre Flurry, he's just seemingly beloved everywhere. But if you're a great goalie, God, the whole hockey world bends over like they will respect the shit out of you. But if you get cold, Jesus, it is all eyes on this guy sucks. I mean that is a tough, that is a tough position. That is not an easy like Bob has obviously been.
AJ Hawk
He's a dog.
Pat McAfee
Bob's a hero down in Florida.
Boston Connor
Fans chanting the name. Oh yeah, like when that happens, Bob.
AJ Hawk
Yeah, it's electric. I love watching him, you know, do his, his 45, 50 minute skate alone just in his thoughts. I know he does like tai chi and some other. But yeah, they're all the stars.
Boston Connor
All their fans were chanting otters better. Yeah, I forget who I think Patrick.
Pat McAfee
Wall, I think back in the day. All right, let's stay with the stars. Tone has a question for you, Patty.
Darius Butler
Yeah, Patty, I do. A lot of the goals coming to those highlights was from Miko Rantanen, who's on his third team this season, which is hilarious in itself. But he's doing stuff his playoffs right now that only Wayne and Mario did, which is insane. I think he's got 17 points in his. His last six games. Nine goals. I believe so. When you're, when you are on a teammate of someone who is that hot, do you still like.
Pat McAfee
Do you.
Darius Butler
Can you find yourself trying to feed him the puck more or how do you play when someone's on a roll like that?
Pat Maroon
Well, I think it's tendencies too. I think his linemates have. He's fit in pretty well up there with Gremlin and rope, hence there. So it seems like they, they found their, they Found their column there. He found his line mates. I think rope hints, I would say is like a 2.0 of Nathan McKinnon. So I mean, he's found it. But I think with Ran and he's, he's a beast. I don't think people realize how big and strong he is, how hard it is to take a puck off him and the way he can do it, you know, he kind of slows the game down and his patience, his hands, his vision. So listen, everyone thought he couldn't do without McKenna. We all knew he could. It was just a matter of time and work. He can fit in. And we all know Carolina wasn't the best for him, the best system. But it seems like he has a home and a home in Dallas and what he's doing right now, he's a man on a mission. He's a freak. And he's taking the Dallas Stars and putting them on his back right now. And it's been fun to watch you.
Pat McAfee
Talk about him being big and strong. And I think the reason why we enjoyed following with your success is because it feels like playoff hockey. You have to be big and fast. Like you have to be big and fast. If your team's not big and fast, you're going to get excited, exposed. Is that an accurate depiction? Is that like a qualifier on whether or not you're going to win? And do you know if your team is big enough and fast enough to win a Stanley cup whenever you get in there?
Pat Maroon
No, that's pretty accurate actually because like during a long series, long seven game series, it's whoever does it the longest and the hardest and stays more patient is going to win. And the more you wear down the opposition, you know, the more exhausting it is for D to go back for puck, you know, you know, for making it so as simple. And then you create more space for your line mates and then you can kind of create off the rush. But teams that do it longer and harder are the teams that kind of come out with the seven game series win. So. And it's just, it's exhausting too. It's like Florida, they just rim pucks in, they reload, they're back in your face. They put it back in, they hit, they reload. I mean it's. At times it gets exhausting. You can see it on their face mentally and physically that, that like, man, I don't want to go back for this puck anymore. It's exhausting. I think, you know, it's kind of like playoff football, you know, like, after the, you know, first, it's just like, you see these. You see these guys coming at me. After the second and third, it's time. You're like, man, I can't. I can't get. I can't get this guy. I don't know what the hell is going on. And it gets mentally and physically exhausting over that time. So. And I. I look at Florida because they remind me of Tampa. Tampa and when I played for the Blues when we won. They just the same team. They're like. They're pests. They're always in your face. They're like hound dogs.
Pat McAfee
Speaking of pests, how's Marshy end up on the Florida Panthers? How is that. Is that one of those ones that surprise everybody in hockey? Like, Connor almost quit being a hockey fan.
Boston Connor
Damn near did.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Because he's a Bruins. He almost just quit. He was like, fuck this. How does our guy end up going to the Panthers? Especially with the rivalry that had been brewing between the Florida Panthers in the Boston Bruins. And then you add Marshy. And I think Tkachuk said as soon as they add him to the group chat, he started chirping everybody. He's fit in perfectly. Obviously, you've had your battles, but it's like, is that not a perfect fit for a guy to go to that team, the rack, go to the Panthers? Doesn't that feel like a perfect fit for them? And what is he considered amongst the hockey players at your level?
Pat Maroon
I mean, listen, he. That's the perfect fit. I mean, you couldn't have found a better spot for him with Matthew Tkachuk done it. There's so many other guys on that team are just little rats. But guys that do it the right way, they have good chirps, they play hard, they're in your face. But they're so annoying to play against because it's like they never stop. You know, you turn around, you think it's over. Then they keep going. They keep going and they. They do some sneaky stuff behind the play. Just fun stuff to, you know, keep everyone on your toes. But, you know, with Marshy, though, like, man, he's one of the best at in the league, the way he plays the game, for how skilled he is and for how intense, and he's in your face all the. Every. Every game, every night. But most importantly, man, like, I don't know how he does it, man. Just, like, once in a while, I'm like, dude, just turn your engine off. Like, this is game 81. You don't need to be doing the same goddamn thing over and over again. But. But, yeah, I mean, he finds a way to get it done. And that's why he's an elite player in this league. And that's why he's the most annoying human being in this, in the NHL.
Pat McAfee
He's great at it. He's a great Bruin, wasn't he?
Boston Connor
Yeah, he's one of the goats.
Pat McAfee
He was a great Bruin.
Boston Connor
Never forget him.
Pat McAfee
Maybe they trade him to the Penguins. Maybe you get out of retirement, go the Pittsburgh Penguins as well.
Boston Connor
They want to win.
Pat McAfee
We're kind of up there, dude. I don't like that we haven't been a part of the conversation for a while, especially when with Sid. How easy is it to turn a team around?
Pat Maroon
It's not easy.
Pat McAfee
How many pieces? How many pieces do you need? How many pieces? Yeah, exactly. You need a goalie, right? Obviously you need a goalie. That is. Go ahead.
Pat Maroon
Oh, man. I, I. With Sid, I think, you know, I think with them, you know, the core guys are still there. Malcolm Letang and Crosby, I mean, they're still playing at an elite level. Obviously, we all saw with Crosby did this year, he's still putting up the numbers at 37 years old. So I think for them, they have their core pieces still. I think getting ready against will kind of hurt them. So they just got to find ways to put some. Navigate, put some pieces in that organization where it's going to fit and, you know, pawn it off to someone else. And I don't know who they're going to pawn it off to when Crosby's gone. But. And Malkin and Latang. But they got to find ways to put pieces in where they can continue to have success.
Pat McAfee
We're not pawning anything off on. We need this to happen.
Boston Connor
Hazy will pick it up and run.
Pat McAfee
Hazy does feel like a guy.
Boston Connor
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
You do it. Yeah. What a legend. Absolute legend. Happy I got a chance to meet him.
Pat Maroon
I mean, good. I mean, look at Boston. Look what happened last year with us losing the second round. Now I don't even know where the hell their team's at right now. So, I mean, it's just like they went from the top to the bottom quick. Now. What are the.
Pat McAfee
You're loading up. That's what hockey does. Yeah, hockey's a big load up.
Boston Connor
Sp first need to get Sweeney out of there, but allegedly the Bees are going to make a run for Gavin McKenna. Kind of, kind of go up there and get him next year once we have a couple first round. Picks.
Pat McAfee
Wait until you hear what Dubas is thinking about doing after these world hockey championships. McKinnon's coming up to Pittsburgh. I heard everybody's thinking about Sid going to Colorado. Biz has been pushing that all year. Yeah, right. McKinnon's moving out of the Rockies, pal. He's coming over the hills of Pittsburgh.
Boston Connor
I mean, he would love it in the Berg.
Pat McAfee
He would love to. Burg wouldn't. Good sandwich.
Pat Maroon
We might be still. We might be still having this conversation four years from now, so.
Pat McAfee
All right. I think one of our favorite things about hockey is how tough you are. Ty, is a question for you?
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, Patty. One of the best parts of the playoffs, I think, for casual fans is, like, after a series is over, you hear like, hey, this guy was playing with a broken sternum or a broken leg during the entire series. How aware are you guys in the locker room of, like, how bad banged up some guys are? And, like, do you have to consciously be like, hey, I might have to, you know, give a little bit more because this guy's out there playing, but he's playing on a broken leg.
Pat Maroon
Yeah. I mean, that's why I feel like hockey is one of the toughest sports because of that. I think the. The coaches and the players do a good job of hiding it because, you know, you can see when someone's hurting or someone's lacking, and you never know what players are going through until the end of the series, if they lose or what, you know, if they lose out. So. So I think most importantly, when you go on deep runs, yes, you're playing a little extra harder for the guy that's a little more banged up than you, but, man, it takes a lot of sacrifice. And I think at the end goal, you know, you get to the pinnacle of your career, just get into the NHL, but I think at the end of it, you want to win a Stanley cup and hoist it over your head. So guys will do whatever it takes to get there and have that opportunity to do that. So. So, I mean, you know, I've watched guys play with broken legs, broken, you know, broken feet, but, I mean, it's been, like, insane. Pull groins off the groins off the bone. Just putting. I don't even know. I'm just like, how are you guys even playing? You know, Alex Korn, you know, he tries. He gets out of game one, he puts a rod in his foot per game, try to come back for game three. It's just. Guys are just nuts, right? So. So, you know, you just try to do whatever it takes to, you know, get back in that game and to do, to do it what you did all year with those guys and all the sacrifices you went through through an 82 game season, plus, you know, to chance to get to the, you know, Stanley cup finals and you know, to voice that thing over your head. So guys will do anything, man. And it's pretty impressive when the lineup sheet comes up after series of how hurt they really are.
Pat McAfee
Do you know it in the, in the change room though? You know what everybody's to going, going through.
Pat Maroon
Oh, yeah, we know everything.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. So the guys are like, yeah, I got a leg and a back or whatever and it's like fellow good on you. Is that kind of the conversation is. And how do you guys keep it so tight? It feels like your guys's community keeps everything so tight. Is that just the culture?
Pat Maroon
It's just a culture because we know, you know, they're probably banged up over there too. We just don't know it either. So you try to keep it as quiet as possible. You don't, you don't run home and tell a friend or a buddy because the buddy might take. Tell someone else because that buddy might know another teammate. So you just try to just keep it as tight and as close as you can. I don't know if I could say this on live TV or whatever, but a lot of, A lot of Tortol.
Pat McAfee
Hey, shout out. Yeah, me too. On Saturday night. Yeah, we will find the vitamin T. Yes, we certainly will. Hey, Patty, we appreciate the hell out of you, man. Good luck with everything. Are you back on TNT throughout the rest of the way or.
Pat Maroon
No, I haven't got my schedule yet. I don't know yet. So I'm just. That was my first day, so hopefully, you know, come back and do a couple more games. So just trying to figure out, going on the NHL panel, doing some coverage of the Stanley cup finals. So just trying to put my. Dip my toes in a little bit of everything right now and see what I like.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, well, enjoy it all, brother. That's the most important part. And know you're already prepared. Don't be worried about a damn thing in the hair. The, the lettuce looks absolutely phenomenal. Absolutely phenomenal.
Pat Maroon
Just comb my hair with a pork chop.
Pat McAfee
Great job. Yes. TNT does a great job of hiring.
Boston Connor
Start to finish, like when it comes to like before and after and during the game.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, like everything. The TNT does a great job of eyeing talent and giving them a chance to go, you know, like everybody in hockey is talking on biz for good reason. You came in, said you want to punch him in the face. It's like he is the epicenter of that coverage, and it is spectacular. They built a penalty box around him in there. It's like they get it. I, I, I think the TNT people get it. And I'm happy to see they're giving you an OP because it's good for the sport, it's good for sports as a whole. We appreciate you, man. Enjoy yourself.
Pat Maroon
Thanks, boys. I appreciate it.
Pat McAfee
Ladies and gentlemen, three times Stanley cup champion, the big rig, Patty Maroon. Okay, so our theory about just being bigger and faster.
Boston Connor
Yeah. Holds true place.
Pat McAfee
Got to be able to play hockey. Yeah. Obviously, that is a thing.
Dan Orlovsky
Goalie, goalie, big, fast. And you play harder than the other team for longer.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. And if you're.
Dan Orlovsky
No secrets. No secrets in any sport, really.
Pat McAfee
That's what it is. Especially physical sports.
AJ Hawk
They sub out so much.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Boston Connor
Depth. That's why Martian was so huge.
Pat McAfee
Freaking third.
Boston Connor
Third line. He was first line for us.
Pat McAfee
He was talking about Florida having four lines. Four good lines there. Yeah, that's a huge deal. Especially end of, like, second period, you know, because third period, you might have to only drop down to two lines. Really working like we're not going into third. But being able to catch a breath for your top guys for the long haul there towards the end is a big deal. For the good lines. God damn, they'd be great for the Penguins. When was the last time we had four good lines?
Darius Butler
You had said Gino install. That was the three up the middle that just. And they just ran them back.
Boston Connor
Kuhn, Brunits.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, we're talking about everybody.
Boston Connor
Yeah. Probably when you went back to back other positions.
Darius Butler
Yeah. 17, 18.
Pat McAfee
It's a long time ago. It's almost a decade, brother.
Ty Schmidt
Almost a decade ago.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Boston Connor
Might as well be eight decades.
Pat McAfee
Shut up, Bruins. You're dead, too. Yeah.
Boston Connor
It's okay. We still edge your names in history these last few years.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, but there's no chance you guys are getting McKinnon in Boston.
Boston Connor
We don't want. We don't want McKinnon. We want the new guy on the block, McKenna, which you have no idea what he brings.
Pat McAfee
I don't want McKenna. If we get McKinnon, I'm okay with it. And maybe Mark Andre Flurry decides to come out of retirement and play again for the Pittsburgh Penguins. Maybe Dubas is rallying up the boys. Dubas?
Boston Connor
Yeah, I heard they're flipping that be around calling him dubious.
Pat McAfee
No, they're not. That's what I heard. Not. Not Dubas. You met Dubas. He's a good guy.
Boston Connor
He looks great. He's a nice man. But so far the moves he's made can make me think he's full of shite.
Pat McAfee
No, he is not full of sh.
Boston Connor
I don't know.
Pat McAfee
That's. Ju's got a seven year deal because.
Boston Connor
He'S not full of my dup trade getel.
Pat McAfee
What accent is this talking brother league now? I'll tell you what, the get trade was tough, especially with how quickly he just went into the Carolina Hurricanes.
Darius Butler
Sitting at home too now.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Solly got rid of Solly. Yeah.
Boston Connor
Sully's gone.
Pat McAfee
Sally went in there like Pete Carroll fighting for his job and dude said, sorry about it. We're moving along.
AJ Hawk
It's business.
Pat McAfee
And then Sully woke up the next morning, had the highest contract ever paid to a coach. Be a New York Rangers head coach.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah. He landed on his feet.
Boston Connor
Yeah. I think Talk it is on the board for both the Penguins and the Bruins, actually.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, Right on tv. Give me Rick talking.
Boston Connor
I might be wrong. Nick.
Pat McAfee
I think he ball tap biz like last night or two nights ago. He's. He's out there.
Darius Butler
A lot of people think he's going.
Pat Maroon
To go to the Flyers.
Darius Butler
We'll see.
Pat McAfee
There's just a couple Flyers.
Boston Connor
Taki just wants to go to a terrible place, I guess.
Pat McAfee
I guess. Does he want to lift Florida or go to a place that's never done it? Most Philadelphia people weren't even alive when that was happening.
Darius Butler
None of them actually.
Pat McAfee
I don't even think Patric existed. Whenever they want to stand.
Ty Schmidt
Wow.
Pat McAfee
No way.
Ty Schmidt
It's been like 100 years. Pats and Gino's been around forever.
Pat McAfee
Is that the best?
Ty Schmidt
No, Dale. Sandra is all well. I honestly had. Danny Coops is kind of making a bit of a run.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, it is. Get one style sandwich and everybody loves it. That's right. I still have yet to try it.
Darius Butler
I thought they were in New York.
AJ Hawk
We tried my roll.
Pat McAfee
We've tried a couple times.
AJ Hawk
We tried.
Pat McAfee
I've tried a couple times.
Boston Connor
I want one so bad.
Pat McAfee
So bad.
Ty Schmidt
Me too.
Darius Butler
Remember we walked. I don't know, what was it, six, seven miles to get down there.
Pat McAfee
Down to Orlando ones. Yeah. Shoot away. Yeah.
Ty Schmidt
That was the. Maybe the most uncomfortable I've ever felt.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, by far. Me too.
Dan Orlovsky
About 30 of us showed up to a food truck.
Ty Schmidt
There was a line of 200 people and we kind of just edged in towards the front. They're like, yeah, who the.
Pat McAfee
Get the. Are you guys out of here?
Ty Schmidt
See the line starts back there.
Pat McAfee
I think we're supposed to be here though.
Darius Butler
No, no.
Pat McAfee
And how about the ladies standing? Who are these guys? I don't know.
Ty Schmidt
These think they can can cut everybody.
Pat McAfee
Lady, we can hear you. Lady. We are right here. We'll leave. We get it.
Darius Butler
No soup for you.
Pat McAfee
Somebody tell Coupe we stopped by. I think. I think he wanted us to come.
Boston Connor
Maybe next time.
Pat McAfee
Maybe. And I go to New York. I'm on complete other side of the city.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, I mean, well, you couldn't get.
Boston Connor
Around at that place.
Pat McAfee
We need Danny and Coop's tea stick.
Boston Connor
Agreed.
Pat McAfee
All right. Right. Let's go to New York. Okay.
Boston Connor
All right.
Pat McAfee
Right now let's wait for the Pacers to play in New York.
Ty Schmidt
There you go.
Darius Butler
Smart.
Pat McAfee
Ooh, how much is that? Celebrity Row look pretty pricey. How about Stefan Diggs?
Darius Butler
A lot of money.
AJ Hawk
New England Shalam.
Pat McAfee
Timothy Chalamet obviously. Full circle moment with him with Amari Stoudmeier. I got a chance to meet up with him. The Jenners obviously with Timothy Chalamet in the building. Super fashionable. Stefan Diggs. I wish he would have wore shin guards out there. He had shorts on with boots. Respect. So cool. He and Cardi, I guess officially. Officially official.
Boston Connor
Yeah. She's New England's Taylor Swift now.
Pat McAfee
They had a really. She's hosting SummerSlam too, I believe. WWE over there in MetLife Stadium.
Ty Schmidt
Wow.
Pat McAfee
Did you see the way he was holding her hand?
AJ Hawk
Leaving.
Pat McAfee
No, sitting down. He was even holding her hand in a cool way. She had her hand over his thigh. He right hand underneath, in between legs, holding him hand. His boots look super. He looks super cool. Yeah. Digs football. That is that. He looks super cool. Congrats to football world. You know, getting into pop culture yet again. And congrats, Cardi B. Get a football guy. Yeah, I think it's going to be a good thing for him.
Boston Connor
I'm not sure if you did see towards the end of the game in the fourth quarter, Tom Thibodeau actually had to elbow Gary V. In the throat to get him away. Because where Gary was sitting was right next to the.
Pat McAfee
He had the R6 Knicks bench.
Boston Connor
Bingo. To the right of the Knicks bench. And they missed a call and Gary V. Popped up like.
Pat McAfee
Are you kidding me? Did you hear him? Oh yeah.
Boston Connor
Or did you see him intimidal also was losing his mind and it looked like he boom in. In his throat. But I don't know.
Pat McAfee
Well, I appreciate Gary Vee support of The New York Sports. I wonder if he's still trying to buy the jets or if he's understood that that's probably not going to happen. The Johnson and Johnson family not going to relinquish.
AJ Hawk
Gary v.6 said I give it up.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I agree. You never will.
Ty Schmidt
He actually had a bunch of his cards with him last night, so.
Boston Connor
With the shirt.
Pat McAfee
The Gary V. Cards. Yeah. The optimistic Opossum.
Ty Schmidt
Yes.
Boston Connor
Bingo. The Eagle.
Pat McAfee
How about the winning Wabi Wall Wallab? Yeah, that's it.
Boston Connor
I thought you were going to say the hype horse because I know you're a big hype horse guy.
Pat McAfee
I am a hype horse. Where did all mine go?
Boston Connor
I took them. I stole them because I wanted them so bad.
Pat McAfee
Okay. What do you have over there? Horse.
Boston Connor
Right.
Dan Orlovsky
Oh, watch out.
Pat McAfee
I like the high Spencer.
Boston Connor
Oh, you're. Yeah, exactly.
Pat McAfee
I don't like high horses, but I do like hop horses.
Ty Schmidt
Hard not to.
Pat McAfee
That Celebrity Road looked like it was a good time.
AJ Hawk
Yeah.
Boston Connor
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Timothy Chalamet shoot fan.
Ty Schmidt
Oh, yes.
Pat McAfee
Skip the Met Gala.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
And he's like big time.
Ty Schmidt
That's awesome. Yeah, that would be his event. Especially who he's dating. Like that's with Kylie.
Pat McAfee
Like that is like their thing.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Because that's the theater. Right. And that's like what he's trying to the Metropolitan Theater. Like the Met gal. He's like trying to represent that and be like the guy. Nick's got a game. Sweetheart.
Ty Schmidt
Sure.
Pat McAfee
I'm so sorry.
AJ Hawk
Love it.
Pat McAfee
I love it. Loves ball. I like how much sports is kind of infiltrating everything.
Boston Connor
Biebs with Toronto.
Pat McAfee
Boom.
Boston Connor
He skipped it as well.
Pat McAfee
Where was he? He was in Iceland or something. Where's. Where has he been posting all this stuff from? I think all over the place. But I know Iceland for sure was one of them. He was golfing in a T shirt. Looks like he's got a good swing. Yeah. I thought he was in Montana at one point. Looks like he's got an album coming out. That's the guess. I guess. We are in Morgan Wallen album release week. Debone says.
Ty Schmidt
Okay.
Pat McAfee
Debone sent a text to the group earlier whenever we were talking about cutting teeth.
Dan Orlovsky
Dennis, double album, Right? Like a monster album.
Pat McAfee
30 some songs. You know, Morgan and I know each other. We've chit. Chatted with each other. I would say we're friendly with each other in this entire world. If I would. We could save probably 16 of those things. Right. For another. We could. That one. You could put a 20 song album out and people Be like, holy. That's a lot. That's a big album. A 36. 30. It's like, how many of these great songs just, I guess all day. It's just enhanced, I guess.
Dan Orlovsky
Are you trying, though? Is it. Is there the end game? You're trying to run up the price of what you're. You know, when you want a big company to come in and buy your audience catalog.
Pat McAfee
I mean, maybe just happened for Zach Brian, allegedly.350 for his catalog or whatever. That's like the new play. And maybe that's the case, but it's like Morgan is going to sell out stadiums regardless. I mean, he's going to sell out stadiums, and his shows are awesome, and his songs are all bangers. You know, it's like 36 of them. Can we keep a couple in the chamber, maybe? And then I guess he just looks in the mirror and says, fuck it, we got more. You know, every song that's like. We're talking about Shaboozi. It's like every song. Shaboozi puts out Banger. Every single. Every song. Morgan's a part of Banger. Seemingly at this point. I guess you might as well just put out 100 of them.
Boston Connor
Yeah. Hopefully they're longer than two minutes, though. We can't have. We can't have, you know, 10 or 20 of these songs be 2 minutes and 50.
Pat McAfee
He respects the art.
Boston Connor
I do. I think so as well. His last album, that. Those songs are four minutes, Some five.
Pat McAfee
I mean, he toured his last album twice, you know.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Boston Connor
98 Braves.
Ty Schmidt
I hope he puts 98 Braves on there, like 15 times.
Boston Connor
Just like 01 brave.
Pat McAfee
Do you remember when we were talking to him, I was one of the first walkouts. You know, Morgan did the first. I remember.
Dan Orlovsky
Oh, sweet.
Boston Connor
The first one.
Pat McAfee
Me. And was it really the first one? Okay, so me and Tyrese were the first walkouts or whatever. We got a chance to chat with him. He was trying to figure out what it all was, too. He had his vision and idea, you know, I just kind of want to soup it up a little bit or whatever. I was honored to be talked about it. And we had ideas for him. We're like, hey, you should lead off with that because we're leaving early. We had to leave early.
Boston Connor
You were trying to say at the set list.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. I was like, hey, listen, I know you guys are prepared for this for a long time. You're doing a stage. Haven't figured out.
Dan Orlovsky
Was he asking. Was he asking for help with the.
Pat McAfee
No, not at all. No. We were telling him, we're like, we need last night. You know, we need. Cuz we're not going to be here for the end of this thing. We got to get to WrestleMania, brother. So we need to hear last night. You know, if I'm doing a walkout, you can play that probably three times. I, I, I think he's got a billion plays. I think, I think it'll hit every single time. He's like, okay, you want me to lead off and close with her? Whatever. It's like maybe once they're in the middle too.
Boston Connor
Yeah, one, one of the guys that worked for him was like, well actually my job is strictly set list. I've been working on this for about 18 months now. I don't think we're going to change it tonight.
Pat McAfee
So we sound like the biggest doofuses of all time. We're like, so we're leading with last night or whatever because we would like to be here for that. We, how long do we have to. Because we got literally got to get to Wrestlemania. People want to hear it, man. I want to hear last night. You know, I would like to hear this. That Wednesday. Well that's coming. Obviously at the end there it's like, God damn. You probably lead with that thing.
Boston Connor
Don't you think you can hype him up a little here?
Pat McAfee
Tease it, get him going. Last night we let talk and then you just kind of. And then guess what? By the end of this thing, you've already hit him with so much. Great. Guess what you can do again tonight we let l talk. We're selling just for selfish reasons. Didn't change his, his entire concert for us.
Ty Schmidt
No shame.
Pat McAfee
A little bummed out. He gets, he's got a good crew around him though. Oh yeah. Strength coach. Ultimate hype.
Dan Orlovsky
Strength coach.
Pat McAfee
Okay.
Dan Orlovsky
Really? It travels with him.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Because he's sprint. I mean he's in a stadium so he's doing like 50 yard sprints. And then he's going to have to come back. I don't know if they, I don't think he has like steps type thing on him. But I did, I pitched to the strength coach. I'm like, you guys should put one of those trackers on him to see how much he is, you know, because they're doing like sprint training with it. Because he has to be able to.
Dan Orlovsky
You know, sing when you're moving around. That's crazy.
Pat McAfee
And he tries to keep the energy up. Oh. You know, because he's, I think he's.
Boston Connor
A Philly guy that the Trainer, strength coach. I thought he was.
Pat McAfee
I don't remember. Great energy out of that great boombox came into the room. They had a full pump session before they went out there. I was like, I love what you guys are doing here. I. I fully.
Boston Connor
Agent is actually the man too.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, Suit. Good guy. Suit actually took a stand and said, I'm with this guy. We're going to sell out a bunch of stadiums. And they have Debone. Hey, how many of the top 100 does Morgan currently have with his stripped down versions of his last album?
Ty Schmidt
Oh, this guy, he doesn't know.
Pat McAfee
Got his. He's got his finest car heart on. Hey, the strip down songs that Morgan's putting out, that's of last album, right?
Dan Orlovsky
No undershirt.
Pat McAfee
Are those in the top? No undershirt. None. Obviously sweat through it.
Boston Connor
Dude.
Pat McAfee
That'S unbelievable. You're getting attacked right now. Like this great hat, by the way. Is that for Trey Hendrickson? You sure? And support the. So how many of the top 100 will Morgan probably have after the songs released with the stripped down version? With the 36 songs we assume will all be a part of 50 of them? He'll probably have 50 of the top hundred because country songs here in like.
Boston Connor
37 of new ones will be top right away.
Pat McAfee
And then the strip down versions, he's got how many of those coming out?
Boston Connor
Oh, some fan.
Darius Butler
Okay, get this guy a Dr. Pepper.
Rich Paul
To wash down the candy he's eating.
Pat McAfee
Thank you. Debone Dumpy just took quite a shot at you on the way out.
Darius Butler
He's got the top six songs right now.
Pat McAfee
Top six on the country or just.
Darius Butler
Total top six country.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, he'll. Last year at one one point he had the top 25.
Boston Connor
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Just like all of them.
Dan Orlovsky
The dog, he crosses over like he crossed over into all genres. I feel like.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, he. He's doing it. He's out there doing it.
Boston Connor
It's like albums where you listen to him a couple times and then a few months after it gets released, you find a different song that's on there that you must have either missed or just forgot about. And it plays again. It's awesome.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. 98 brave country will carry you through the summer. And then rap gets rolling door in the fall. Hell yeah. And that's when, you know, things start. Things really start rolling. And then that's when football gets going. Speaking of football, tomorrow we have a schedule release. Tomorrow we have a showcase of the social media and digital teams. Tomorrow NFL teams should be judging their digital teams on whether or not they are good or not. These digital teams and social teams will certainly point fingers at everybody else but themselves if they stink. But if they're great, they should be held in higher RA regard, I think. And this is a time for them to put on a show.
AJ Hawk
For sure.
Pat McAfee
Big day tomorrow for a lot of people. Bums. Now, there are bums out there that have lied to a lot of NFL teams and said they know what they're doing. And tomorrow they will get exposed and they will not see it that way. They will lie. They will say it's somebody else's fault. But there are also a bunch of people who have been put in position, given the keys to an entire organization digitally at a young age because the older folks that are in the building don't think they can do the social team. And with those keys, tomorrow somebody will G huh? And hit the road, Jack, and put out something special. And I think we should recognize that all day tomorrow.
Ty Schmidt
I agree.
Pat McAfee
Let's celebrate greatness tomorrow.
Pat Maroon
Hell yeah.
Pat McAfee
Let's celebrate the NFL and let's celebrate the fact that tonight. Pacers Cavs 7 o' clock on TNT. Nuggets Thunder 9:30 on TNT. Pacers can put the Cavs away. Will OKC take a lead? They're 10 1/2 point favorites at home. And then we got the Winnipeg jets taking on Texas hockeys Dallas Stars. Don't give that one up at home. Gumpy Miro's back.
Rich Paul
Maybe one of the best defensemen in the NHL. Been out for a long time.
Pat McAfee
Time. Oh, Winnipeg. All right. Ty's got to poop his pants. We're going to wrap this thing up. Be a friend. Tell a friend something nice. It might change their life. We're with you in there, Ty. Team on me. He should have.
Boston Connor
Yes.
Pat McAfee
These boys were in the ring yesterday. We got to get this thing out of here. We got to get this thing out of here. Debone somehow took a bump yesterday that had three hits. It was his butt, his back and his head. And I don't think that is how it's supposed to go at all. So we got to clear this thing out. But if Ty was debug was just sitting on top turnbuckle yesterday calling shots. From what I seen, Ty Schmidt had a Kendo stick out here yesterday. I mean, we got to get this out of here. Possible. Anyways. Be a friend. Tell a friend something nice about change your life. We're going to sing together. Pumped. Rich Eisen's coming to espn. Bummed he won't be able to come on our show.
Boston Connor
Amen.
Pat McAfee
What the.
AJ Hawk
That stinks.
Boston Connor
Good setup.
Pat McAfee
Like, he's one of the guys that will come to ESPN who would actually come on our show. I think. Yeah, I think he would. I think he likes us. We like him. He's gonna be live at the same damn time. That makes a lot of sense. Be a friend. Tell a friend something nice about. Change your life. We're in this thing together. Team on me. Team on three. We appreciate you all so much. One, two, three. Team. Goodbye.
