Hello, beautiful people, and welcome to our humble abode, the Thunderdome on this Feel Good Friday, May 30, 2025. This program begins now. Sports are happening all around us. And yes, the Pacers lost to the New York Knicks last night in Madison Square Garden. All New York Knicks fans that I know have sent me a text over the last 12 hours saying, Knicks in seven, Knicks in seven. Knicks in seven. It is wild in these seven game, the best of seven series that these sports have. More specifically the NBA. All you gotta do is win one game and all of a sudden you're back in this thing. Wait a minute, did we find it? Are we gonna be the team that is gonna make every shot? And are the Pacers gonna become a team that can't knock down a shot at all? Are the Pacers gonna become a team that doesn't try to run as fast as they try to run in the games that they win? Or are the Knicks gonna be the ones that are gonna control the tempo going forward? That's what their fans can literally say on this Feel Good Friday because of what happened last night in Madison Square Garden. They were the one that dictated the entire game. They were the ones that were dominant, and we were the team that tapped out at the very end. Oh, yeah, sub Tyrese. Yeah, sub the entire crew out. Rick Carlisle basically lets the New York Knicks faithful have a final two. Three minutes up 16. Just get a chance to take the victory lap, take the tractor another round and take a chance to maybe win this Eastern Conference final. Jalen Brunson goes bananas yet again. Kat continues to do his thing. Josh Hart even made some plays. And this New York Knicks team is the real deal. They're one of the final four teams in the NBA. With that being said, Pacers at 6. This thing comes back to Indiana on Saturday. And I know Madison Square Garden had to be an incredibly wild experience. I wish I could have been there last night. I wish I could. Had some scheduling conflicts. Had an incredible opportunity to introduce Jelly Roll at the Big Ass stadium tour in Pittsburgh last night. That was an honor of a lifetime for Jelly Roll. I will do anything. Because when Big Night out was happening, I called Jelly Roll. I said, hey, I'm having a show in Pittsburgh. Want to give away some money? Want to do some stuff? Will you be a part of it? He says, say no more, Bubba. I. I said, jelly Roll, I need to pay you for this because I know there's probably an amount of money that you could be making instead of coming to Pittsburgh to do My show. He said, no problem, Bubba. No money needed. I said, well, I'm going to donate the money. He said, sounds good, Bubba. I'll donate as well. He matched the donation. So it's like what Jelly Roll has done for me. I felt obligated as a friend of his to do the same for him. In Pittsburgh last night at his big ass stadium tour at PNC Park. It was phenomenal. Jelly Roll plays for an hour. Okay. Straight banger, banger, banger, banger, banger, banger, banger. Like Sheamus, Bingo. But it's just heat after heat after heat. Cover promo cuts. A promo about Pittsburgh.
Boston Connor
Great one.
Pat McAfee
How thankful he is in this entire thing. How lucky he understands he is, how much he appreciates everything. Banger plays for an hour. We get a chance to hang out with him afterwards. Incredibly honored that I got to be a part of that. Then I get to watch Post Malone do his thing. Wow. First time I've ever been to a Post Malone show. And I'm going to say this guy's a rock star. Guy is a rock.
Boston Connor
Hey, showman.
Pat McAfee
Hey. He is. We are out there doing it. He is in that music. I mean, he is in this. He's. I see the videos of him dancing and getting lost up on stage. When you go to show, it makes sense. From the moment he enters, he is inside of those songs that he is singing. I mean, he is. There was a lot of like. I mean he is.
Boston Connor
Oh, yeah.
Pat McAfee
I'm telling you, this dude is a rock star.
Boston Connor
So good.
Pat McAfee
He is so entertaining. It's just him on this big ass stage. 40 some thousand filled up PNC Park. And as I was in the annals of the PNC Park, I knew there was a chance. I'm probably never going to be allowed back in there. Sure. With our relationship with the ownership and everything like that. So I was taking photos of everything. So incredibly nice stadium. So incredibly nice. The view. Nice Post. He spent some money on maybe some Zambeli fireworks. A lot of fireworks. A lot of fire. I mean that show was love that banger. I mean that show was absolutely awesome. So very lucky to be a part of that. But as Jelly's down there performing, giving his testimony and crushing. And as Post, he's doing his thing within the music. We're watching Nick Spacers on a little bit of an iPad. A little cell phone next to us had good service too. It was great. And all I could think of the entire time was Bruce Brown, Michael Cole, even Michael Che sent me a text last night, just with two Emojis, one of these right here saying the seven. Then you look at the celebrity row that they had over there. Okay. I don't know if they're paying $171,000 a ticket. If they are, congrats to all of them. Seems like they have afforded the opportunity to be able to do that. T.J. mcCallum. Miles Teller. I seen him there. Oh, yeah, Saw his wife there as well. I sent a text.
Ty Schmidt
I go, thought you were a Philly fan.
Pat McAfee
Excuse me? You were there for the Pacers, is what I said. Is that. Is that my tie? Is this game? Hey, you're a Pacers fan. Is that what we're doing? He responds to me, don't want to talk about it. I go, no. I go, wait a minute, Miles. He goes, I'm here as a guest of New York Knicks fans and potential ownership or whatever. I'm like, miles, you need to stand up for the Pacers in there. You could be the turning point of this entire thing. You could be the Lynch Key of this entire thing. Miles. Nope, he's there with Chalamet, Kylie Jenner, obviously in the building. Ben Stiller's rocking. Spike Lee was there. They were all having time of their lives, as they should. It's a very, very cool time to be a Knicks and a Pacers fan. This Eastern Conference finals has been electrifying. And it comes back to Indiana tomorrow night. Cannot wait to see how the Pacers respond. Cannot wait to see if Tibbs and the boys can continue to put the pressure on the Indiana Pacers. Does this go to 7 like all new York Knicks fans are hoping for? I don't think so, but it's possible. It's possible.
Boston Connor
True.
Pat McAfee
Congrats to the Knicks and their faithful and big time.
Boston Connor
Hell yeah.
Pat McAfee
Now, when the Knicks are playing in Gainbridge, I believe there is going to be some booze. There might be some negative things said. What, towards the other team?
Boston Connor
I hope not.
Pat McAfee
There might be.
Ty Schmidt
It better not be.
Pat McAfee
That is kind of how sports work, I think.
Boston Connor
Not if we're there.
Pat McAfee
Well, now, going forward, we are going to be an agent of only good things at sports stuff happening, only positive cheers going forward. Because that will make John Cougar Mellencamp happy. What a moment for John Coog yesterday.
AJ Hawk
Oh, you mean one of your hospitality?
Pat McAfee
What's that?
AJ Hawk
You mean who's your hospitality?
Pat McAfee
That's right. In quotes like this, Mr. Mr. Coog, Mellencamp. I don't know what he thought he was doing with that particular quote tweet. I respect and appreciate the fact that he said, you know what? I've made a pretty good living over the last few years grandstanding higher than anybody else on everything. Yeah, this feels like a good time to do that right now. And he puts out this horrendous quote tweet, horrendous graphic. John. Can't tell you how bad everything you did here was. Everything. The graphic, the quote, the timing. You're two days late, John. You're two days late. Bob puts this thing out there, don't even say my name. No, John, shut the fuck up. Okay, so they put this out, calls me somebody, Okay? I am somebody. And I normally don't want people to just get slaughtered, you know, because I know we have a very active following and I appreciate the hell out of those people. They are very kind. The people that have followed our story are the greatest people on earth. Because there's a lot of times they could have just said, no, we're not doing this anymore. They've stuck with us. They are active and they like us. John, I know you probably talk to people that say they don't like me, you know, and you probably read from Journal. We know who you hang and who you listen to, John. So you probably read a lot of people that don't like me. I don't think you or your team had any idea that there might be people that are on my side, John. So I hope whenever you opened your ex account, if it is you, you've seen what everybody did and you could have taken the angle, be like, hey, there's some people attacking Pat for what he did. I'm actually on Pat's side because we represent this state of Indiana. We're lucky and thankful to represent the state of Indiana. We don't have a lot of people po doing for us in the state of Indiana. But you know what? I see another young buck that's doing it, and I appreciate him doing it. You could have easily done that, John. But instead you're trying to think you were going to bury me. I don't think so, Jon. Hey, Coug. Suck it, buddy. And hope I get a chance to see you real soon. I think we were probably going to be at the same place pretty soon. Oh, yeah. I don't want any of your bullshit, okay? I don't like you. I know your name and I don't like you. Your songs are pretty good.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Boston Connor
Wow.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Little Diddy. What's that mean about Jack dying? Two American kids growing up in the hot land. That shit's great.
Evan Fox
Yeah.
Boston Connor
Song, song.
Pat McAfee
He's got a couple.
Ty Schmidt
He's got a couple bangers. He does. He does. Cool's got a couple.
Pat McAfee
He's got a lot of success. He's. He's been a great success story for the state of Indiana. That is my home now. And it's a good thing. He could have. He could have. You know, he could have seen everybody trying to kill me for this and kind of had my back. He goes the opposite way, and then what happens in turn is every human that's ever encountered him sees this as a bird call to tell their story about John Mellencamp. And it turns out. I didn't say this, but a lot of people are saying, who the hell are you to speak about treating people right? And we didn't say that. We're just reading the responses to that. And, hey, Coug, have a good one, brother. I hope every sporting event you go to goes the exact same way that Game four went. And I hope your little head just explodes because you can't take it anymore. Talks to tables here at Boston, Connor at Ty Schmidt. What a day on X yesterday for Coug.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, I mean, to be. To be quite frank, it was absolutely awesome, because you don't ever see someone miss the mark so completely anymore. Like, Coug was thinking that everyone was going to be like, you know what? Thank you, Coug. That's not Hoosier hospitality. We don't do that kind of stuff. And like you said, I mean, yeah, Coug has some bangers. He does. Let's not get that twisted. Like, this guy, in his day, was he.
Pat McAfee
I mean, a heat maker?
Ty Schmidt
Exactly, Exactly. But, I mean, we're talking tweet after tweet after tweet after tweet after tweet. Because at a certain point, you could be like, well, you know, like, a lot of this could be BS. There are about 5007. 500 responses all basically saying, like, hey, John, don't you remember when I interacted with you?
Pat McAfee
And so. And so, yeah, there's a lot of those.
Ty Schmidt
A lot of those.
Boston Connor
A lot of them.
Ty Schmidt
This guy. This guy is a massive. Massive. Apparently, yeah. I don't know him from, you know, anything else, but, you know, we saw.
Pat McAfee
8 million views on his. There's no way he thought that thing goes out yesterday during the show. I think, like, we're at the tail end of the show, and it goes out, and I'm reading it. I think. I think this gotta be a joke. I thought it was. Then I read through it again, and it's like, Nope, nope. Keeps going. And the number of views and interactions with that thing just starts climbing. I see it as 1.5 million. I'm like, that's a big. That's a big tweet.
Boston Connor
Huge.
Pat McAfee
That's a. That is a good tweet. There's people that see these tweets that have like 40 million views or whatever. That is outliers. If you get like a million view a million impression tweet, that is gigantic. Like, those are big numbers. This guy's at 8.3 million or whatever right now on this thing. This thing has just been a runaway and I. I want to be honest, it very rarely happens. I appreciate everybody going to bat for me. Sim.
Boston Connor
Yeah, that was awesome.
Pat McAfee
Felt like everybody was kind of on.
AJ Hawk
My side and everybody stand up. Unlike John Cougar did for our Stars and Stripes.
Boston Connor
Yeah. Bingo.
Pat McAfee
We.
Boston Connor
We can talk about alleged. Thank you, Tony.
Pat McAfee
You're welcome. That's one half of the Hammer Cowboys. AP tone.
Boston Connor
We can talk about the alleged stories that people have. We were in Lucas Oil.
Pat McAfee
I mean, he put the flag. He was in. He put the Colts in the interesting spot because he's in Colts suite too.
Boston Connor
And everyone in that suite was standing up, except I think, for maybe one person that was 90 plus years old. And then you look over and Mellencamp isn't standing up. So I. I get it. Those other people are telling their stories. One of the most respected newscasters in Indiana, Angela.
Pat McAfee
Good note.
Boston Connor
Good. No. Yeah. She shared her two cents. She didn't really even go into it, but she basically alluded to she's been.
Pat McAfee
On TV for 24 years here in Indianapolis. Went to IU. She's like a TV legend. She even felt that, like, as I was reading this, I'm like, John Coog had no idea. But I did know that that was not a good indicator for what was going to happen in our game. He's Pacer fan, allegedly. He's lived through his whole life. He pays free. He gets free tickets, I think. So he goes and shows up at these things, takes over entire portions. He's a little crew, too. They act like they created the place. I've had to deal with this group numerous times before. He's legend, though. Little Diddy about Jack and Die, sucking on chili dogs side taste freeze. Great. Like we are saying this, but yeah, I knew it was a good indicator for what was gonna happen in the game. As I was reading, I'm like, this is not good.
Evan Fox
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
And then everything I said, not good. And then how big that got not good. How empowered they had to feel not good. Did not feel great about game last night. Which is why during the show yesterday I was like, we lose this one. Sorry. His best of seven. Because I had a bad feeling. Game six back here in Indiana. Hell yeah. Suck it on chili doll.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, exactly.
Pat McAfee
We're gonna be doing just fine. Just fine.
Boston Connor
Mellon Camp actually didn't even get to see the game too because allegedly in the first quarter when Knicks started boo. And he just destroyed his tv.
Pat McAfee
Really? He said this is not sportsmanship.
Boston Connor
Yeah, basically just, are you kidding me?
Pat McAfee
Well, I thought maybe his high horse was so high he didn't have his binoculars to be able to watch the game. Probably there's a chance. There's a chance he couldn't see all the way down there. So basketball still happening. Who will the Oklahoma City Thunder take on in the NBA Finals? We shall see. The NHL Stanley Cup Finals. We know. Representing the west after beating Texas hockey last night, the Edmonton Oilers are back in the Stanley cup finals. And Congrats to Connor McDavid and dry Seidel and the boys for putting on an absolute clinic against this Dallas Stars team. The goalie Otter who we love, we've become a big fan of. He's potentially going to be Team USA's goalie going forward, which we love. He got pulled after two shots. Now that was also two goals up there in Edmonton. The coach was asked afterwards like why'd you do that? He goes, this guy stinks. In Edmonton. Okay. Then we see two shots go by him. We decided to make the change. It did not help. Edmonton would still go on to win this thing. Even though Dallas would fight back a little bit. Connor McDavid would ice the game. And now the Edmonton Oilers are going to the Stanley cup final. Representing the west, taking on the back to back Stanley cup champions. The men could be back the three time stand the cup final appearance. Legends of South Florida Elbow room regulars, ice dominators. Ladies and gentlemen. From the Florida Panthers, Matthew Pichuk.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Chucky. Chucky. What's going on man?
Evan Fox
What's up guys? What's going on guys? Thanks for having me on again.
Pat McAfee
Hey, thank you for joining us. Congratulations on a big Eastern Conference finals dub and heading back to this Stanley cup finals, a place that you guys have called home for the last three seasons. Now looking to go back to back obviously would be a big deal in a dynastic conversation. How do the boys feel? Do you feel more healthy this year or is at this time of year everybody kind of feels the same exact way. And you're just used to it.
Evan Fox
Yeah, it's. I mean, there's bumps and bruises along the way. Everybody's pretty banged up this time of year on every team. But, you know, it's. What's nice about, you know, our team is the depth and when guys have been in and out, we've been having guys that are able to. To fill in the spots. But yeah, I would say we're, you know, obviously, knock on wood, but we're, you know, pretty similar to last year with. With health going into it. So, you know, we're confident, but, you know, so. So is Edmondson. I'm sure they're. They're a hell of a team and. And it's going to make for an incredible series and not very often do you see a rematch in pro sports in the finals. So I think that it's. It's the two best teams in the league. And to be honest, I think it's pretty clear that we're the two best and. And it's going to make for an incredible final.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, it's been fun to watch you two get back to this point, obviously, through the different roads that you've had and you said it's been pretty clear that you two are the best teams. There's a clip coming out from you last year talking, I believe, to McDavid, saying, We'll see you again next year, do the same thing or whatever. Almost calling your shot. What is it about that Edmonton team? Obviously, we see McDavid, obviously, we know, dry, subtle, but they're just the same as you guys. They're fast. What do you think it is about them that makes you say that we are the clear two best teams in hockey at this moment? You're obviously in the finals back to back years. Everybody's going to talk about that. But what is it about their team that you have so much respect for?
Evan Fox
Yeah, I'm pretty familiar with them. Going back to my time in Calgary and seeing a lot of those players grow, playing against McDavid a ton. I mean, I think that that's. That's pretty much, you know, when you're playing against the best player in the world, he's always going to give you a challenge each and every night. But, you know, it's not just him. They're a deep team. They play really hard both ends of the ice. Their goalie's playing incredible right now. I think the thing that's underrated with them is their defense. I mean, they make it, you know, hard to get to the net. They block a lot of shots. All the stuff that you got to do to have a successful team. And they started, you know, they started the playoffs at, you know, down two games to LA, and since then they've been 12 and two. So that's. 12 and two is incredible in the regular season. That's almost unheard of in the playoffs. So they're playing, you know, the best hockey of the year so far for them, and it's going to be a battle for us. You know, we're going up there to Edmonton to start and, you know, they're, they're, like I said, They're 12 and 2 in the last 14. So we got our hands full. We're going to take that underdog mindset and mentality and go up there and try to do what we did last year, I guess.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, you have the experience, obviously, you've been able to accomplish it. Hoisted Lorda last year. Did you see what Connor McDavid decided to. To do last night? That caused quite a little bit of a stir in the hockey tradition. In hockey tradition. I don't know, whatever he listed, he lifted a Clarence Campbell trophy last night. Last year, they did not touch this particular trophy after winning the Western Conference and they would go on to lose. So this year they decided for him to touch it. Now, the crowd said, whoa, whoa, whoa. It was quite a reaction. You guys, I've heard, have done multiple different ways as well. Touched it, lost. Didn't touch it, win. So what is the conversation? Is there a vote on whether or not we're going to hoist that thing after the conference finals or how do we go about getting to that point where Connor McDavid did that last night.
Evan Fox
I can't remember exactly how it went down two years ago when we, when we played, ended up playing Vegas in the final. But I think just us as captains were talking and going back to that year, like, it was such an accomplishment, us being an eight seed and kind of just getting into playoffs and then kind of going on. I wouldn't call it a miraculous run, but it was pretty close to it that year. And so we just decided at that time, like, we've earned this. Like, let's go. Let's. Let's touch it. Let's carry it around. Let's be proud of. Didn't work. So last year we went with the, you know, not to touch it.
Pat McAfee
And.
Evan Fox
And last year it was, you know, very similar to this year for us. It was kind of like that business leg. Like it wasn't so much of an accomplishment where it was, you know, kind of part of the, part of the journey for us. So this year we just decided to do the same thing. And, and Edmonton, if we were in their shoes, we, you know, we changed it up last year, they're changing it up this year. It's, it's pretty natural for them to, to do that. I'm not, I'm not surprised by it, but I think that's more of that creates a stir with you guys. With us, that really doesn't mean anything because, you know, the Stanley Cups, the final goal.
Pat McAfee
No, no, that all matters. What he did last year. We got guys around the country for your team, I assume that'll wear the same shirt whenever they watch. And if they don't wear the same shirt, you guys will lose. And even though they've won it during a loss before, they just didn't wear it the right way. You know, that, that shit happens. Hockey. I feel like you guys have a lot of those though, superstitions.
Evan Fox
There are some guys that are psycho with them. I am not one of them. I don't know how people could live their life like that. I'd be so stressed out, I'd barely sleep if I did that. So I think as the years go by, you get less, you're less worried about that stuff. And I know I am.
Boston Connor
There's some Dan Hurley in his underwear.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, Dan Hurley wore the same underwear through the NCAA tournament. I mean, we've heard stories about some of the greatest of all time in hockey with what they, how they have to operate on a day to day basis. For me, I got a chance to be around a couple guys in the NFL early in my career that had like every day was a fool. We got to put left sock on, right sock on. We got to do this. We got to knock on this. We got to do this every single time. And I'm like, what if you don't do it? What's going to happen? Well, I'm going to get cut. And I'm like, so are we sure if you don't knock on this door here, you're going to not do your job? Well, yeah, I'm not risking it. And then just building that up. 10 years. 10 years of shit. How do you remember all the shit to your point? Yeah, I would stay.
Evan Fox
I'm okay with, I'm okay with the routine. Like, I've got a pretty strict routine, but once guys start changing it up after a win or a loss or whatever and they start psyching themselves out. That's where I got an issue. I've got no problem calling guys out for it, too. So I think that's our team. Does it pretty well, too.
Pat McAfee
That's good leadership. Now let's talk about a new superstition happening down there in Florida. Go ahead, con man.
Boston Connor
Yeah, Matty. It feels like after every big win, you guys are just gunning rats at my beloved Brad Marchand. Don't. Hopefully he's appreciative of it. You know, treat him kindly. Of course, as always. I think it was you, Barkey, and Rodriguez at the end here after closing it out against the Canes. How did this come to be? Was it Marshy? Like, hey, you guys should just fire those things at me. That's going to get me all fired up after a win. Or how did you guys start this routine here?
Evan Fox
I don't. I don't actually recall how it started because I wasn't playing in the regular season. Like, I think Marshy came and he played probably 10, 15 games at the end of the regular season, and I wasn't in them. So I normally go out, I leave the bench or. Sorry, I leave the ice. Second to last with Barkey after a win. And once I came to game one of playoffs, I know Marshy picked up a few rats, I think maybe for his kids or for people that were asking during the regular season. And then. I know. I think it started with Roddy. I think. I think Erod shot the first one at him and then bark. He was like, all right, well, if you're going to shoot one, then I'll nicely pass one into you. And then when I came back, we're. We started firing him at him. So it's been a fun tradition. And, yeah, people seem to. Seem to like it, and it kind of fits. Fits what our team's all about. Having fun and not taking anything too seriously.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. And him being a rat, too. I mean, it's like a perfect. Him coming to your team seems like the perfect, you know, Storm. It really does feel like he was built to be a Florida Panther. And now Boston Bruins fans hear that it was built to be a Boston Bruin. What are we talking about? But with the way your team is kind of pieced together, feels like he was a perfect addition culturally. Obviously, his style of play, the way you go about doing things, and also championship pedigree, which he has, which leads to this. What are you gonna say?
Boston Connor
I was gonna say born to be a Bruin, you know, but built to win a cup with the Panthers.
Pat McAfee
Oh, I like that. I like what you just said. Absolutely.
Evan Fox
I like that, too. I like it, too.
Pat McAfee
I'll take that as well. Go ahead. Tone, though.
AJ Hawk
Yeah. On top of all that, Chucky, it feels like, you know, before Marshy was. Got there, maybe you and Sam Bennett and potentially some others were king of the pests on the Panthers. And now that Marshy's there, he is. He is kind of taking that spotlight of teams who, you know, are dealing with him being the pest. Do you guys have a competition for who can rile up the other team more while you guys are on the ice? And who do you think is King Pest of the Florida Panthers?
Evan Fox
Oh, that's tough, man. I think that maybe changes from game to game and series to series. I think that. Well, Marcy got a puck shot at him last round.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, that was why. Hey, let's talk about that. So that was just.
Evan Fox
He took the title for that last round, but, yeah, I don't know. I don't know. We'll see. Maybe this round will be different. But I. I feel like I got my money on Marshy.
Pat McAfee
He's.
Evan Fox
He's pretty good at. He's pretty good at that stuff. And it's nice because when. If people aren't worried about. If people aren't, you know, worried about us doing, we could just go out and play. So he. But he's been a great addition, not only for that, but, like, he is such a good player, and people don't really see it too much. Like, I get to see it every day, whether it's the games or practice. Like, he is so skilled and so strong on the puck. And then like you said about him fitting in culturally. Like, I get. He's, you know, he was the perfect Boston Bruin for a long time, but I don't know, he's almost born to be a Florida Panther, the way he's, like, on and off the ice. So we're very. We're very happy to. Very happy to have him.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, it feels like with the way your team is built is a perfect relationship. And the fact that the Bruins trade them there, I think has made a lot of the Bruins fans go, what are we. What are we. What are we doing? So we're just sending the guy to make the champs even better. Who would be perfect for them? You talked about him getting rifle a puck rifled at him in the middle of a game after he takes a shot at the guy. All right, we get a chance. That's fair play. Fair play there. And Then just moments later, old buddy at his own blue line shoots a puck at him out of nowhere, which obviously would turn to him going what are you serious? Fighting and then him getting kicked out. Then him asking the refs if they know ball. Basically just saying that the refs didn't. What was your guys reaction? Because afterwards it seemed like everybody, even coach included said like, we have a lot of thoughts on this. We're going to keep them to ourselves. We're going to keep it to ourselves. Everybody just thought that was like a bush league type move in your guys locker room. Was there ever, was there like, was there a conversation about how we're going to handle this? Everybody can understand because it felt like the entire hockey world was like that's not supposed to happen in hockey. That is not how this goes. We'll fight each other, we'll cross check every once in a while, but firing this puck at somebody that close is just kind of not acceptable. Is that an accurate read on how everybody viewed it? And what was your guys convo about it afterwards? I don't know.
Evan Fox
It was pretty greasy. But I mean, I don't really know. Like I definitely was staying away from Marshy after that game. He was fired up so I had to let him cool off a little bit after that. But I don't know. It was kind of greasy. But I don't know.
Pat McAfee
It's playoffs.
Evan Fox
There's, there's, there's shit that happens that's, that's way worse than that. And I don't know. It is what it is. Playoff hockey.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, but you guys didn't, I thought there was a potential 5 on 5 fight to start the next game. You know, just take a stand. Obviously that would be stupid because the penalties and everything that would take place in the Eastern Conference finals. But the way you guys beat teams down, it's just like you guys are the bullies on the ice. And I think that's why Marshy going to the team is just so damn perfect. Go ahead.
Boston Connor
Yeah, we're talking about Marshy.
Evan Fox
But you can't, you can't let that stuff take away from what's really important, you know, and, and that's winning the game and advancing. You know, right now we're the, I guess we're the, you know, with after that happening. Of course we would love to go out there and, and stick up for a teammate and in a situation like that or at the start of next game or whatever. But you got to be careful the way you do it. Like you can't let you know the big picture is winning and you could take numbers and get them next year for if that's. If that's what you want to do. But you can't let it get in the way of what. What's the goal right now.
Pat McAfee
You can take numbers and remember. Hey, you remember East Conference finals? Yeah. A little bit more at stake then not able to necessarily do this right now. We are. Go ahead, Connor.
Boston Connor
Yeah, I was going to say maybe not right now, but I mean, it happened with a ho. While you were in the penalty box, Chucky. I mean everyone saw you kind of point or look at ajo and point to your head. And then at the end of the game, you know, after it was kind of signed, sealed, deliver for you guys know, you. I mean, you beat the brakes off. It was awesome.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Yeah, Chuck.
Evan Fox
Yeah. I mean, I. I guess that goes against everything I just said, but I don't know. I don't know. You know, I've played with Rhino for a bunch of years. Hated to see that that hit happen and it knocked him out for that game. So, you know, we were obviously very lucky. He only was out for one game and we got him back in full force. But, you know, never like to see that happen and the game was out of reach. So decided just to. I'll take the two minute penalty to stick up for my teammate and got kicked out of the game and is what it is.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. That's why we love your team. And you just want to let, you know, let alone the national anthem. Boeing worst fighting right now. I mean, you. You are everything we like about hockey, Chucky. You need to know that. So even if you're lying to our face about how you're going to operate things and then we counter it immediately, we will still love you, pal. Go ahead. Die.
Ty Schmidt
Chucky. How do you guys either like rattle or kind of get into Stu Skinner's cage when this next series starts? Because, you know, last year, the last couple years, that was kind of like, I don't want to say the downfall of the Oilers, but everyone was saying, you know, like, hey, Stu Skinner's gettable. If you kind of, you know, get some momentum, get some, you know, pucks on net and all that kind of stuff. Like, is there anything you guys need to do differently to kind of get inside his head when he has been standing on his head these last, you know, I mean, you mentioned it. They're 12 and two since the opening two games of the playoffs.
Evan Fox
I really think with Edmondson, like, they've got the experience over the last few years where, you know, you're not going to really do a whole lot that's going to mentally get in their head or whatever. I think you just have to keep sustaining pressure and shots and offense and continued physicality. You know, not obviously can't be physical on him, but, you know, the rest of their team and. And I think that's how you just. I don't know if we can really get to them mentally by saying stuff or doing stuff, but I think our team's mindset is try to wear you down. Wear you down. So even if you're up three and you lose three, wear them down enough where that game seven, you could win. So we have that game seven mentality, and we have each and every shift in every game, and whether that's, you know, Skinner wearing down or whatever. I mean, he's been playing incredible from the games I've been watching in the last couple rounds. So we're going to make sure. We're going to have to make sure our shootings dialed in, and we've got a lot of guys in front of him to make sure he doesn't see it, because everything he's seen right now, he's stopping. So. Got to give him a lot of credit. He's playing great.
Pat McAfee
All right, let's talk about Bob. Also playing incredible. Feels like you got to have a hot goalie. He's always. Feels like he's just always standing on his head. Does this guy have feet?
Evan Fox
He's incredible. He is our backbone. He's. He's been our. You know, he's just been so reliable the last few years, and he's just a guy you really root for, like how he prepares, his routine, you know, how dedicated to the sport he is, how great of a teammate he is, and just such a special human being. So we got a chance every night with him, and that's all you can ask for. And he's been absolutely incredible again for us this year.
Pat McAfee
Goalies, weirdos.
Evan Fox
Not him. He's incredible. He's awesome. I've played with a couple that are weird, but. But not our goalies.
Pat McAfee
Love this Panthers team. Good luck, bub.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Connor McJesus is flying right now. He's literally hovering above the ice. It feels like that's always happening. But obviously, a hot Edmonton Oilers team taking on the reigning champs in the NHL Stanley cup finals. It's a beautiful thing. You're the man. Keep representing for all of sports, brother. Ladies and gentlemen, Matthew Kachub. Yeah. Chucky See you, Chucky. Yeah, you gotta watch what you do, especially East Conference finals. You can get them back later, Connor. Yeah, but what about whenever you. Oh, yeah. I didn't like that he did that. Yeah. Had to handle the business. Game was put away though, at that point.
Boston Connor
Yes, it was.
Pat McAfee
He's. You know, there's time and place for everything. This is a close game. We can't be taken cheap, you know, but we can certainly remember we got you. I think fourth week next season. Yeah, that game matters. We can give up penalty or two.
AJ Hawk
Though, then, you know, we got back to back days.
Pat McAfee
What's that?
AJ Hawk
Greasy.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. So greasy is our new thing. I guess that's the new world.
AJ Hawk
A little greasy.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, that's lacrosse. Yesterday, Chase Frazier talks about a center having a greasy face off. So it started an entire line brawl. And then Chuck goes, yeah, it's a little greasy move. And everybody knows exactly what it means.
Boston Connor
Yeah, I like it. I mean, there's connotations.
Pat McAfee
Used to be bushley with greasy.
AJ Hawk
Of course there's not.
Pat McAfee
What are you guys saying?
AJ Hawk
Gosh, the spear is not from Italy, if that's what you're talking about.
Pat McAfee
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Holy hell. Holy hell. I was back in Pittsburgh yesterday. Saw a lot of Italians, by the way.
AJ Hawk
I bet it was awesome.
Pat McAfee
Felt good to get back in there. Felt good to get back into the mix, you know? How we doing, Moots? Where's it at? Scene 40. Some thousand people there.
Ty Schmidt
That's a lot.
Boston Connor
Every seat. It wasn't one of those where there were spots like. It was insane.
Pat McAfee
He goes straight up. The baseball goes straight up. And speaking of baseball, there's no hockey tonight. There's no basketball tonight. But there is baseball. Isn't there ties? Thank God for baseball tonight. Yeah, Yeah.
Ty Schmidt
I mean, if you want to stay up late, we have, well, it's, you know, 10:10 Eastern.
Pat McAfee
What?
Ty Schmidt
First pitch.
Pat McAfee
No way am I watching that. Yeah.
Ty Schmidt
Yankees, west coast road trip. They play Dodgers. We got a World Series rematch from last year. Potential World Series preview for this year. Both of them have been playing very, very well. But, yeah, I mean, if you're not a guy like me or, you know, I mean, shit, I don't even know if Bruce is going to, you know, stay up for this one with the Knicks tomorrow night. But, yeah, 1010 is very late. But this whole series, all three of these games are on national TV, some. Some way shape or form. So if you do want to just get like a little, you know, a little morsel of what the baseball Season has been so far. I mean this is about as good of a matchup as you could ask for.
Pat McAfee
I love to hear that all of the game stars are playing in one game. Yes. And I appreciate that. It's on at 1:00am Eastern.
Ty Schmidt
Well, you know, no one 1:00am eastern will be.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, please, can you call passing, please.
Ty Schmidt
Eighth inning specific.
Boston Connor
And this is also.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, specific move that don't we move. What wouldn't we want to see? Aaron Judge versus show.
Ty Schmidt
Well, that's what's interesting is tonight is 10:10 and then like tomorrow I believe is on fox and that's 7 10. So I think, I don't know if it's just because. Because it's Friday and they want to make sure like both of the weekend games Sunday night, this is Sunday night baseball. So that'll start around seven.
Pat McAfee
Okay.
AJ Hawk
Two, three or seven o' clock.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, exactly. Just tonight is the 10:10 start tomorrow too.
Boston Connor
The pacers start at eight, so you'll get a good three at bats tomorrow. Probably should be flipped where the baseball kicks off later. But this is a good reminder how these conference games, we've been so lucky that none of them have been on the West Coast. You forget games start that late because all these, these games have been, you know, every team has been what, Mountain time? I guess Edmonton's the only one that isn't Central or Eastern. It's been kind of one of those blessing in disguise you don't really think about till you remember that games do start at 10 o' clock.
Pat McAfee
Okay, let's go to the NFL. Quesi Adofamenta has signed an extension with the Minnesota Vikings. Congratulations to the general manager over there who put together a team that was competing to be the number one seed in the NFC in the last week of the season against the Detroit Lions. They would lose and maybe even get a rule change because how great their year was from going a first to a fifth seed in the nfc. He has pieced together quite an outfit over there. Now what are they doing at quarterback going forward? Well, it's JJ McCarthy's team now, obviously nobody has said that outright, but every move and everything that they've alluded to is basically that they're going to rely upon the national champion out of Michigan whose rookie year didn't even get started because of a surgery that had to happen in training camp. So now that JJ's their guy, Quesi's locked in. Kevin O' Connell is going to be there for a long time. It feels like the Minnesota Vikings have found some Stability. If JJ can play quarterback well, there's obviously a conversation about, are they going to bring in Aaron Rodgers? Does Aaron Rodgers want to go play with, you know, this Minnesota Vikings offense that is absolutely loaded. Kwesi was able to get Justin Jefferson paid while also bringing in a lot of other weapons on the offensive side. He was also able to almost have a defensive player of the year camp. They are stacked on both sides of the ball. All contracts are seemingly good. And the only question mark is, is J.J. mcCarthy a guy they have rolled the dice and said, we are willing to bet on it. We believe in him. They drafted him. Jim Harbaugh, when he was coming out of Michigan, said, this is the best quarterback in the draft. The guy had the best workout I've ever seen, is what Jim Harbaugh said. Now, Jim Harbaugh did recruit him to Michigan. He did win a national championship with Jim Harbaugh at Michigan. But that's literally the only question mark. Everything else that has happened around Minnesota, I think everybody would say, yeah, that's the right move. Kwesi, obviously a general manager, a large part of all of that. He gets an extension. Congratulations to him. That's a big deal. Yeah.
Boston Connor
And we all just have so much faith in Kevin o' Connell, where you feel like you've seen it. Remember the Pasternaut thing? I feel like solidified it for me when the Pasternaut came in and they just started winning games with koc, telling him in his ear what routes his receivers are running to the point where, you know, Koc, I believe, came on this show and told us. Yeah, sometimes I had to shut up. I had to stop talking because I was giving him so much information. But, I mean, he had a year to kind of watch. How much do you think he was able to watch? Because it. With him being so hurt.
Pat McAfee
He was on the sideline. I think we saw him in the building.
AJ Hawk
There was articles. He was in the building and doing VR stuff with the quarterback.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. So we saw him around. We saw him on the sideline. He got a chance to experience it. A lot of mental reps. We talk about rookie quarterbacks not having to start early. Now he got to. He had to miss some time and he had to go through rehab, which might have helped, actually, if he's in a training room with the boys, you know, throughout the entire season, what you hear, what you pick up, what you learn, there's a chance that he got like a masterclass on how to be an NFL quarterback last year while rehabbing, becoming the healthiest he could possibly become. There's chances of the guy. I mean, like, everybody that's talked about him says, this is the guy. They actually say that the Vikings are going to get better. Sam Darnold was their quarter. He was up for MVP throughout a lot of part of the year. Sam Darnold reinvigorates his entire legacy, his entire career. Last year, he doesn't get re signed to go, wait a minute, didn't this is what you wanted? Kirk Cousins, same exact thing. They don't re sign him. Isn't this what you wanted? Now they're going with J.J. mcCarthy, the young guy, and it's like, you listen to Kirk Herbstream talk. He's like, they're gonna be better. And it's like they were.
AJ Hawk
Orlowski thinks that too.
Pat McAfee
They're playing for the number one seed in the NFC last year. He's like, gonna be better. I don't. I don't know if they're gonna be playing for the number one seed because it might take him a little bit to learn, but in the long run, team is gonna be better. And J.J. mcCarthy is built for the moment. In the big moments, J.J. mcCarthy is there. He's got. It is basically what everybody says. IMG had it. As soon as he got to Michigan, he had it. As soon as he completed his career in Michigan, he had it. And he would have had it last year if they would have let him play. That is what Everybody that knows JJ McCarthy says. So let's just assume he's the guy, and let's assume that the Minnesota Vikings are set for the next 10 years. 10 years in the NFC North.
Boston Connor
Yeah. And like, people might snicker at the. Oh, he was doing. Doing VR work last year. Like, I'm sure that helped him a ton. Jaden Daniels talked about how the VR stuff was some of the most important, you know, routine kind of prep that he had during the NFL season.
Pat McAfee
You can get a hundred reps. You get 100 reps in like three minutes. So as opposed to everybody having to walk through and reset everybody, it's just like, boom, put them out there. We're doing walkthrough, bang, reset it. Walkthrough, boom. We move this guy here, this is what you got. You can just get so many reps so efficiently, so convenient, so quickly without having to call up the practice squad or read the card team, get everybody set up, get everybody realigned. It's like you just lock in. Everything's realigned. Oh, let's show you too high okay, so when they do this, they're gonna do this. Let's do that again. Here's a hundred different forms of that. If you're willing to put in the work and invest in the time, which they say J.J. mcCarthy is doing.
Boston Connor
Harbaugh guy.
Pat McAfee
And they say, exactly. And they say Jaden did. And all these guys that have success, they invest the time. If you're willing to invest the time with virtual reality and technology, the amount of reps that you can get is a thousand X what it used to be. So you can learn much quickly. And it feels like guys are doing.
AJ Hawk
So I just read. So what they did was they put a camera on Sam Darnold's helmet during practices and walkthroughs and then put that footage into the VR so that JJ McCarthy could see what Sam was seeing during walkthroughs and practices. Then obviously the game stuff, you know, you could do that as well.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. And the amount of trivia, I mean, there's just so many things that they can do in there with how interactive it is. I assume JJ is going to be great just because everybody that knows him says he's going to be great. That's what I assume.
Boston Connor
And he's got Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, T.J. hawkinson and Aaron Jones.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
And Kevin O' Connell.
Boston Connor
And Kevin O' connell. And they invested in the O line.
Pat McAfee
And they have a great defense and they have great special teams and still got B flow. Yeah, it's like, yeah, you're in a great. J.J. might be the perfect guy for the job, but also that might be the perfect team to be a first time starting quarterback in the NFL. Good luck to them all. Congrats to Kwesi. Ryan Grigson gets a bump in title. He is now assistant general manager. Congrats to him. Happy for him. Happy for him. Still shopping? Oh, yeah.
Boston Connor
Just an ox.
Pat McAfee
By far the most jacked general manager, assistant general manager in the NFL. No questions asked. 305, I think. Still walking around, beard game very tight. Obviously. I was in Indianapolis when he was hired as a general manager in his 30s. I think all parties would say he didn't necessarily handle it the perfect way. And with everything that comes with being a general manager, not just finding talents, putting together a team, but also negotiations and, you know, communication and how you operate in a building and everything. So I think he got thrown in the deep end. I think he had a chance to learn. He has a chance to kind of look back on the mistakes that he made. Look back on the things that he did very well. We won whenever he was there. And now he's continuing to climb the ladder. I'm happy for him. I'm very happy for him. And I hope he gets another opportunity at. It feels like the second time after getting hired very young is normally a successful thing. He's obviously moving up the ranks over there in Minnesota. Might win a Super Bowl.
Boston Connor
Yeah, maybe. For sure.
Pat McAfee
Joining us now is a guy that might know a little bit more information on Kwesi signing and if anybody else. Because we had no idea that was coming. No, I mean, I'm assuming people did. Is there any other big money moves going to executives? Is there any other moves about to happen around the NFL? And how happy are the New York Knicks fans, ladies and gentlemen? Joining us now, Emmy award winner, winner, one of the founding hosts of Good Morning Football now, ESPN analyst and pundit, ladies and gentlemen and insider, Peter Schrager.
Boston Connor
Hey, Peter.
Pat McAfee
How you doing, Shregs?
Ian Rapoport
I'm doing awesome. Smiling. Just took my kid to school this morning and everyone's in blue and orange. Back on the bandwagon. It's New York is beautiful this time of year, Pat. Kind of wish you would have been able to witness it, but I understand. I love Jelly Roll. Saw Jelly Roll in Post Malone in Vegas at Allegiant Stadium couple of months, a couple weeks ago. Outstanding. Was Tyrese Halliburton with you in Pitt last night?
Pat McAfee
Okay. Yeah. He didn't have his best night. Okay. Two or seven. Okay. He only had seven shots. Not great. And every once in a while, you know, we'll have a game like this where it just doesn't go our way and it goes the other team's way. We look out of sorts. But the other team's playing fantastic ball. This other team just so happens to be in Madison Square Garden with a place that was rocking. I was watching along. It looked awesome. I know you were not there as well. I was not going to pay $171,000 for a ticket. So that is. And also bail on jelly, right? Not bail it on Jelly Roll. No way. But I would have been able to make it. Just not 171,000 worth. I saw a lot of Knicks fans calling me a coward. Valid. I respect it. I would have been saying the same thing. But I'm not paying 200 grand to go watch the Indiana Pacers against the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference finals while getting bullied by all of New York. I don't have that type of fetish in my life. I don't have that type of need for attention. But I will say, watching the game, I could see how Knicks fans all of a sudden have hope that this is their series. I was getting a bunch of texts. Knicks in seven. We saw the chance outside. Knicks in seven. That's really what the hope is at this point. And whenever they have a game like they had last night, where everything's fallen, Kat and Jalen are going bananas. Indiana's not able to make much. It's like, well, is that Indiana, or is that maybe a Knicks defense? Just kind of figuring it out? Are those all the thoughts that you guys are having this morning? Like, wait a minute, maybe this is our series. Yeah.
Ian Rapoport
And, like, the truth is, you know, we're up by five with a minute left in the first half, a game four. And I'm in the building looking around to the 10 other Knicks fans that are with me in Indiana, and I'm like, we got a shot. And then at the end of the half, you guys really put a nice run together, and then it's just an avalanche. And then we get the promo cut, and I'm like, we're not winning now. Like, this thing, this place is. The building was on fire. So it was like you felt being a shot. Now we go to game six. And all of my friends, and I'm not talking about sports media, I'm not talking about people who are sitting on the courtside. All my friends who are going to the Knicks games, when they're playing the Clippers and the Kings and the. And the Pelicans, they're texting me, is like, should we go on Saturday? Is it going to be hostile? And I'm like, no, no, you don't understand. These Indiana fans are amazing. They're not hostile towards Knicks fans. They're welcoming. They want you to enjoy the experience. They're just smart, good and loud as. You know what, My ears are still ringing from that game. So I don't imagine it's going to be a little smattering of Knicks fans on Saturday. I think a big contingent is coming in.
Oh, really?
Pat McAfee
Invasion.
Ian Rapoport
He's going to show up. Big weekend Saturday, and I'm urging everyone, go if you can afford it. If you can find a way there. Go, go, go and represent the Knicks in Indianapolis.
Pat McAfee
You have to. You want an invasion of the big city? Okay. Geez Louise, that'd be good for the sport. It'd be good for sport if it was loud. I mean, we got people in this building that are inviting Knicks friends, Knicks fans out here. As friends taking them to the game. So I think they are trying to have a little coyote situation where they're trying to sneak them in in the entirety. Pacer fans aren't gonna let that happen. No, that place is gonna be packed out. I don't love the yellow out. Just with like. Sure. The way optics just how I'm built. You know, you're not gonna really see me in a light shirt on a regular basis. Just I'm built like a spark plug. My complexion not good for yet. Like that's a tough color, you know. But it'll be a yellow out. I suit. And there might be a little bit of orange and a little bit of blue scattered throughout there, but inevitably, what's going to happen, you know what Tyrese is going to do. You saw the game he just had. You think that's going to happen again? I don't think so.
Ian Rapoport
That's the thing. It was the greatest performance I've ever seen live in a playoff game. Three nights ago, Tuesday night, he was unbelievable. He had 32 total 15, zero turnovers.
Pat McAfee
Like.
Ian Rapoport
And then he was. He was nothing last night. So I don't know what's going on. And hopefully. I'm sorry, I'm saying like it is.
Ty Schmidt
I respect the hell out of that.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, no, I understand. I have to say.
AJ Hawk
Oh.
Ian Rapoport
Whenever I say that, I just didn't realize that the concert poster was Jelly Roll Post Malone and Tyrese Halle.
Pat McAfee
Okay. All right. He wasn't at the big ass stadium tour in Pittsburgh. He was at Madison Square Garden. Rick Carlisle in the Pacers have not lost back to back games since March or something like that. March like 10 or something. I assume Rick Carlisle's message to that Pacers team was I pretty enthusiastic. I would assume pretty harsh if I had to guess. And back in Indianapolis on Saturday should be a beautiful thing. Last question about this particular series before we move to NFL stuff. Go ahead, Connor.
Boston Connor
Yeah. Just so you know too Pat, some people are inviting Knicks fans out here just to watch them lose. Just to see the tears of Knicks fans. You know, that, that, that. That would be my case there. Okay.
Pat McAfee
There's some Celtics fans that are out here that are going to the game just to invite Knicks fans out to watch them cry and losing the series.
Boston Connor
Bingo. Yes.
Pat McAfee
More. More exact.
Boston Connor
Yeah, Just. Just to make sure on the same.
Pat McAfee
Page, there are some people doing that.
Boston Connor
Some people are doing that. Not everybody. Smart people, you could argue, but strikes. You know, a lot of people are talking about Bridges, OG and Nobi being the key is Mitchell Robinson, kind of the key to the Knicks winning here. And do you think they need to give him some more minutes here? Because it feels as though that six minute span with Mitch last night was kind of. It was early, but it almost kind of set the tone where. Hey, Indiana, you're not coming into this house and winning.
Pat McAfee
Well, hold on.
Ian Rapoport
Wait a second. Al Horford just hoisted up another three and just. Oh, wait, no, that didn't go in. Sorry, man.
Pat McAfee
Chase.
Ian Rapoport
Yeah, no.
Boston Connor
You can't talk shit to me, Trager, because you guys aren't worth shit. You're not going to win anything. And you see this trophy right here? You son of a bitch.
Pat McAfee
Right here.
Boston Connor
You better take a good long look, bitch, because you're never going to see it again. All right? So you can hang the band for winning the second round, you know, playoff series. That cool.
Pat McAfee
Wow. But Celtics fans, a little rattled right now when Tyrese Albert.
Boston Connor
No, no, I'm not taking no from some guy who's never even sniffed the finals since, you know, before.
Pat McAfee
Wow. Celtics are rattled. I didn't even know the Celtics are rattled. I'm not.
Boston Connor
I'll take it from the pagers fans, because they got a team. I get respect. I'm not respecting these Knicks fans. I'm not.
Pat McAfee
I'm not gonna bow down. Don Mellencamp is not going to be.
Boston Connor
Well, guess what? I'm not. Hoosier hospitality. I think Hoosier hospitality, stupid. First of all, it's real, but I think it's stupid.
Pat McAfee
Who's your hospitality? We host more events here, conventions.
Boston Connor
And it's real. But I come from a place where I want a little. Hey, can you get the out of the way. Hey, can you just shut the up. You know, I like that stuff from the people in my city, and it's very nice. Like, you know, everyone's. Oh, everything's great. You know, there's nothing wrong with telling somebody to go to hell or somebody to go.
Pat McAfee
Listen, out here, you come out to Indianapolis, you have a good time. Hospitality will host you. We got great hotels, you got good restaurants. Everybody. Awesome city, awesome city. Everything's there.
Boston Connor
That's my favorite.
Pat McAfee
That's. Who's your hospitality? No.
Boston Connor
No doubt about it.
Ian Rapoport
And I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna Talk Trash to 18 championships. I know better. And I grew up having nightmares of the Celtics, so I was just having a little bit of strength.
Pat McAfee
Shut up and suck it. Truth the matter is, Mitch stories. Robinson.
Ian Rapoport
That guy's been on the team for seven years. Mitchell Robinson's the actual heart and soul of this team. So whereas we've been flipping the team and we're getting Josh hard at the trade deadline to really kick start this thing couple years back. And then we bring in Brunson and of course we get Kat and Bridges this year. Mitchell Robinson was there in those dark days, so Knicks fans have like a real place for him. So when he comes in and you know he's bringing defense, you know he's bringing rebounding, and you saw him in the corner there, Jalen Brown in that game, like, you know he's bringing that. But when he starts scoring and gosh, when he's getting those offensive rebounds and dunking like that is an extra good feeling because it brings you back to those days where these teams were not making the playoffs and the Celtics were beating us by 20 and the. The Pacers beating us by 20 on our court. So, yes, Mitchell Robinson not only brings it on the court, but he brings it with the fans. There's a special connection with that player.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, we need him to not have a good game on.
Boston Connor
No doubt.
Pat McAfee
Need. Need him play bad. Need them all. Everybody play Jalen Brunson doesn't know how to play bad. Now there's some stats coming out about Jalen and Cat being on the court at the same time last night having success as opposed to the early games where they weren't having success. And it was hard for me to understand people saying they need Jalen not to play and they will be better because as a Pacer fan, I'm like, yeah, yeah, let's definitely do that. Let's have Jalen not play. Because every time that guy has the ball, it feels like it's going into hoop. I mean, every single. It makes no sense how he's able to create his own shot and how often it falls. Like if he has just a window of hope, the ball's going in. Then they talk about on the defensive side, though, and how they're trying to run plays for him and how him and Kat don't word. Cat feels like last night they were able to really make it happen. I hope that means they didn't find a recipe.
Boston Connor
No, no.
Pat McAfee
I hope that doesn't mean that they have figured it out in the Eastern Conference final. I hope that means it was one night of magic in Madison Square Garden with all the stars out. Shregs. How about that TJ McConnell photo in front of Miles and Kelly and Tim and Kylie and I had to tag.
Ian Rapoport
It because if you do, it's Like a Where's Waldo. It's just every face in there. That's Lance Thomas and Chris Dudley, former Knicks. In the back of that picture, like you've got Mike Novogratz, the crypto king in the orange. You got all sorts, people.
Pat McAfee
Stiller.
Ian Rapoport
Stiller is kind of hanging halfway. He's standing up that Stiller's kid next to him. It's an incredible image. And the fact that it's Yinzer, T.J. mcConnell doing the three point things right on the sideline. He's wearing those kicks. Those are like the John Morant, but the most like T.J. mcConnell version of the John Moran.
Pat McAfee
What's that mean?
Ty Schmidt
I love it.
Pat McAfee
What's that mean?
Ian Rapoport
Sick.
Pat McAfee
What's that? I don't know.
Ian Rapoport
They're just plain sick.
Pat McAfee
Milk. You're saying those are the milk. Those are the most bland. We caught you. That was a great.
Ty Schmidt
So good.
Ian Rapoport
Sorry.
Pat McAfee
TJ's a dog. Yeah. He's from Pittsburgh and there was a time last year where he was marching up and down everybody's court in front of their crowd. Love watching it. Great series, great atmosphere. Can't wait for tomorrow night, game six. Now let's talk a little football, shall we? There's a lot going on down in Miami. A lot seemingly going on down in Miami. Go ahead. AP Tom.
AJ Hawk
A ton going down in Miami with the Fin fam and the Dolphins. Yesterday there was a report. I don't know if I buy it or not. Shregs, that's why I'm asking you that there's potentially trade talks between the Steelers and Dolphins for John who Smith specifically, because Artie Smith loves John Smith, even though the Steelers have a few tight ends already that they love. So, you know, you could talk to me about that, see if that's bullshit or not. And then also Tyreek Hill's been on a lot of streams lately, which is. Is always a good idea. He's been saying stuff. Is there any chance that Tyreek is potentially in trade talks as well this summer?
Ian Rapoport
Well, there's a lot of credibility behind the John who stuff. Schefter has got it. And then field Yates added a good point that in both Tennessee and Atlanta, John who Smith was one of the favorite players for Arthur Smith. So if Arthur Smith has a voice, that makes a lot of sense that Pittsburgh would add another weapon to that offense after losing George Pickens. Johnny Smith's not going to replace George Pickens, but it's another other receiving options for whoever the quarterback's going to be. As for Tyreek, so Much chatter. And yet, from what I gather, he's not going anywhere.
Pat McAfee
And.
Ian Rapoport
And right now, Jalen Ramsey is more likely to be traded than Tyreek and Tyree kill. Truth of the matter is, both of those guys have massive contracts, and you're gonna have to find teams that are gonna be willing to take them on. And for all the chatter with. With Miami and how public he is with some of the stuff he said at the locker room in the last week of the season, and then he's been all these strings, and I don't know if there's a. If there's a directive for him to maybe not be talking so much about it. The truth is, when Tyree kills there, he's fine. And he's one of the best players in all of football. In fact, the NFL Network did a poll last year. This time, the number one player in the entire NFL was Tyreek Hill. So, like, you don't trade that player because he's said some comments that upset your fan base online. When he's there, he's great. And the true of the matter is, he and Tua actually do have a really good connection. So I don't think Tyreek Hill is going anywhere. I think he just likes being on social media, likes doing those podcasts, and truth of the matter is, it's pretty entertaining.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, he got a good pop. Whatever. Everything he says gets pretty good pop, both with the people he's with and then on the Internet. It gets a massive reaction. He did say in his press conference he's doing a lot more personally with what he's going through, and he feels like he understands what Coach Mike is trying to do in the culture locker room more now than ever. And also Tua more now than ever. So I guess that's good things. And then they asked him about his quote, and he said it was high emotions. You know, I just try to move on, look, focusing. The next day, there's a lot going on. Feels like everybody's past it. He feels like he's past it. Every time he goes on a live stream, though, there's something coming out of it. There's something coming out of it. Tyreek's a good talker.
Ty Schmidt
He is.
Pat McAfee
Tyreek is a good talker, I tell you.
Ian Rapoport
Like, he. He was traded from Kansas City because he wanted to get paid. They couldn't afford. Like. Like, I know those Kansas City guys, from Veach to Borgonzi, who's now in Tennessee, to Andy Reid. Like, they love Tyree Kill people who play. Like, had Tyree Tyree Kill is like the man once you're in the building. So there was no, like, bad blood when he left. And I think it's the same thing with Miami. Always going to run his mouth, always going to say things. But, like, the people in that building, they love Tyree Kill. And he's a well received player. It's not like he's some cantankerous guy or a cancer in the locker room.
Pat McAfee
I do appreciate his quote on Aiden's live stream is right out of a movie.
Ty Schmidt
Yes.
Pat McAfee
Let's go. Yeah. Aiden Ross's live stream. Those streamers are. That business is wild. That business is wild. Congrats to all of them. That is a whole new genre of entertainment. Truman show like that these dudes are doing. And women, I assume. I haven't seen them, but no, I saw at Streamer University there was some. There were some pops off down there. So what these men and women are doing in the streaming world, it's the future, I believe. Obviously, everybody says that's future. That's future. That's future. You got to be on. They're gonna be on all the time. Like, hey, when you're being boring, this is not word. You gotta be on, on, on, on, on. Congrats to all them doing their thing and for being as electrifying as you have to be for people just to watch you live your life. But every time when Tyreek was on there, and every time Tyreek has gone on there, he's given a clip that seems like it's at a. A movie. The most recent one was, yeah, I wanted to punch him in the face because he wasn't throwing me the ball.
Ty Schmidt
Yep.
Pat McAfee
Like, that's straight out of a wide receiver movie.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
You know, big pop, though. Big pop on everybody Rivers. So I think he was trying to be funny. And like you said, everybody in the building loves him. It's like, if you can get Tyreek locked in, he's a weapon. He says he still wants to go for 2k. What are we talking about? Let's keep it moving. We appreciate the hell out of that and we appreciate the hell out of you, Shrek. Congrats to your Knicks. Are you coming tomorrow?
Ian Rapoport
I'm not, no. I've actually been texting with our mutual fan, Jerry Ferrara. You know him from Entourage. Of course. He's texting me as we speak. Like, should we go? How do we go? Do you know a hookup? Like, I'm not your private jet guy, and I certainly don't have a hookup in Indianapolis. But I will say this. It is an amazing experience if you do go, and I urge all Knicks fans to represent. Now, I'm gonna go take all my Melon Camp albums and burn them in the back here because I'm too Mac.
Pat McAfee
And the music's good. The music's good. Don't burn them. And. Hey, Turtle, get the jet. We'll see you soon, Shregs. We appreciate you. We'll see you in the next hour. Goodbye. This episode is brought to you by Chevy Silverado.

Knicks get a big win to extend the Eastern Conference final of the NBA. And the Edmonton Oilers bury the Dallas Stars and become the Western Conference finals champions and head to the Stanley cup finals in a rematch of last year's Stanley cup finals against the Florida Panthers. The Edmonton Oilers were playing a Dallas Stars team that had a chance to reach Stanley cup finals, and instead they lose last night in pretty devastating fashion. The Dallas Stars goalie, who we love, Otter, got pulled after two shots.
Boston Connor
Two. Two shots total.
Pat McAfee
Two total shots. He saw.
Boston Connor
How many saves you.
Pat McAfee
None. Nas.
Ty Schmidt
Two goals, Otter.
Pat McAfee
I mean, get him out. All right, otto. Then Connor McDavid said, I'm gonna take this thing over, does some gliding on it. Boom. Pow. Assist. Bang. Edmonton. Oh, hi. I'm ed. I'm Connor McJesus. I'm faster than your whole team. Jeez. And I'm gonna. Who's this goalie? I don't know him. I was waiting for an Otter. This looks more like a party. Yeah, you do know.
AJ Hawk
Don't stop.
Darius Butler
Spent some years in Pittsburgh.
Pat McAfee
That was the Goat. Yeah.
Darius Butler
No, that Was the goat.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Louis. Oh, my God. I was watching Nick's basis. I didn't know they put the golden. The goat was sitting behind the otter this whole time. Gumpy, I watched you go through it all night last night. We're watching Nick's Pacers here. Jelly rolls performing here. Post Malone then comes out. Rock star.
Boston Connor
Holy hell.
Pat McAfee
Actual screaming. You need carrying. And then right into singing. I don't know how. His little bit of rapping, too. I don't know how his vocal. I don't know how he does it all. It's impressive.
Boston Connor
He's a real, real talent.
Pat McAfee
Like, we.
Boston Connor
We saw Taylor Swift, and Taylor Swift does her thing in a different avenue. Post Malone has just the same amount of.
Pat McAfee
These are rock stars.
Boston Connor
Crowd control.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. It's like. It's a different. When you watch, like, Taylor had the entire stadium.
Boston Connor
Exactly.
Pat McAfee
Okay. It's like, oh, this is a rock star. And then Post comes out and he's in his songs. I mean, like, he is within the lyrics. Real passion, really, like, in there as he's. I don't know how you're able to do that every night. Like, I don't know how you're able to. Every song is like it is. He's writing it and singing it for the first time. He really got after it last night, but that's happening. Then we got Gumpy sitting two doors down here. What. What's going on? Otter gave up two. They pulled him. They pulled Otter. They pulled. Pulled him. They sat him. And he turns his phone around, and it's Otter skating off to the side. And it's like they make the. Otter do the. The skate of shame. Basically over to the bench after everything he's done. And now the season's over for the Dallas Stars. Man. And Gumpy, I'm sorry. It was a hell of a run. He made it to the Final Four. Made to the Final Four. Gumps. The Dallas Stars could have been in the Stanley cup finals if they just didn't run into the McDavid train that, you know is back in the finals.
Darius Butler
You should probably go out with your. One of your best players playing, though. I would say, you know, two shots and then DeBoer throws him under the bus after the game as well. You know who took the penalty to score the first goal? A kid that hasn't played since April 26. Who made that decision?
Pat McAfee
Pete, who was it?
Darius Butler
That would be you, Mr. DeBore. So guess what? Otter's gonna be in Dallas a long time before you were and a long time after you are, oh, you're saying.
Pat McAfee
Get this guy out of here.
Darius Butler
I'm not gonna go.
Pat McAfee
I'm not.
Darius Butler
That's three in a row. I'm not gonna go that far.
Pat McAfee
You don't.
Darius Butler
Don't throw your goalie franchise goalie under the bus after the game.
AJ Hawk
They weren't bad goals either.
Darius Butler
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
So you guys are the Carolina Hurricanes in the west, right?
Darius Butler
More or less. We've won a few more games, but. Yeah, but at the end, long story.
Pat McAfee
Short, Gumpy was calling for heads to roll.
Boston Connor
It was crazy.
Pat McAfee
Heads to roll last night. I mean, it was. We're flying home in. Literally, we're. I don't know, 20 minutes into. Not that. Probably just chilling because we were just.
Boston Connor
Hanging, kind of taking in the concert.
Pat McAfee
And then all of a sudden, Gumpy just starts laughing. The bar, this guy just out of nowhere, like, loses his mind in the entirety. Let's go to one half of the hammer. That Cowboys AP tone.
AJ Hawk
I also thought it was insane. I mean, the first goal was a. Was a power play where it went from dry, settled with McDavid to Corey Perry in under. Under a second, maybe. And he's. He's standing in front of the net by himself. Okay, So, I mean, that's not a. What'd you say?
Boston Connor
Almost saved.
AJ Hawk
Almost saves it. And then the second one is. It's basically. It's basically a breakaway that he slides five hole like, these are not terrible. This is not like, oh, he didn't catch it or anything. Like, these are not these. These are pretty normal goals for a goalie to give.
Pat McAfee
He wasn't saying the puck. The board knew it. Have you seen his record up in Edmonton? DeBoer let the whole world know that Scott never wins up here either. I don't know if you've looked into it. Yeah, he's a franchise guy. The guy stinks. We had to pull him anyways. Long off season for all teams except for one Stanley cup winner. It'll not be the Dallas Stars, although you guys had a great season. The talks tablet Boss Connor at Ty Schmidter here. And joining us live from an attic in Ohio, ladies and gentlemen, a college football national champion, a Super bowl champion, a Ryder cup winner, ladies and gentlemen, A.J. hawk. Yeah, Hawker. How you doing, pal?
Bruce
I'm doing great, but I want to ask Gump, this does. How does hockey work? Did Otter know, like, hey, you're on a short leash tonight. If it. If it goes poor early that you're out of here.
Darius Butler
Zero chance. He's like, top five goalies in the NHL. There's no way that was even a conversation.
Pat McAfee
They were actually talking about him being and the reason why they could win the Stanley Cup. Yeah, that's what I thought.
Darius Butler
He made that save against the Jets. That's why we got to where we are. Like, he's been unbelievable. All players.
Pat McAfee
The diving one back across.
Darius Butler
Yeah. Like, he's absurd.
Pat McAfee
Dude, good player.
Darius Butler
He hasn't been his best in Western Conference finals. I understand that. But still, you end your season with him and that not with Casey De Smith.
Pat McAfee
I mean, the boar scene, the Smith, and he's like, he's got that go. Yeah.
Boston Connor
How do we know Disney Smith didn't look at the board and say, you know the deal. Y' all want to win, put the Smith in.
Pat McAfee
You think the Smith actually was the one that was handing over the stats? You know, this guy's done up here. Yeah. Yeah.
Boston Connor
There's. See this coach. You see my stats and then who.
Pat McAfee
They have him sitting next to. Who was Otter?
Darius Butler
Oh, Ray Ferraro, Mr. Edmonton. Oiler himself. That guy never heard more bias. If I close my eyes, it's like I'm back in Canada watching sportsnet. Listen to him calling Oiler Stars game.
Pat McAfee
Gumpy had a tough time last night.
Boston Connor
Yeah, it was brutal.
Pat McAfee
I'll be at a tough time. Potentially the most bummed I've ever seen him.
Boston Connor
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
He's asking for heads of rule.
Darius Butler
You know, I love that team. The Stars give you hope. Not like the Miami Dolphins, you know.
Pat McAfee
Well, Miami Dolphins got a lot of stories going on, but Shrek said it's all noise. Don't worry about it.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, he's.
AJ Hawk
He has dropped them.
Pat McAfee
What's that?
AJ Hawk
He's dropped the Fins.
Ty Schmidt
Fan of the Shield now?
Darius Butler
No, I haven't fully dropped low.
Pat McAfee
You are no longer a fan of.
Darius Butler
I'm still a fan, but I, I, I just.
Pat McAfee
You refuse to be emotionally invested.
Darius Butler
I'm at the point where it's. I wake up every day and there's more. It's like I. Joe New Smith was our best player, only Pro Bowler, and you want to trade him Chris Greer every time a guy knocked on the door? Here's more money, Tyreek. More money. Not more years, just more money. Xavian Howard. More money, more money, more money. Jaylen Ramsey. Here's more money. Oh, Joe new Smith's getting 4.8. I can't give him anymore. Our best player.
AJ Hawk
It's great.
Darius Butler
It's a master class again in Miami.
Pat McAfee
It's.
Ian Rapoport
It's.
Pat McAfee
Everything's great. Happy for you, Gump. Yeah, let's feel good Friday age and how we're supposed to feel good. With Knicks beating the Pacers last night, Gumpy's calling for the head coach of it. He's our Western Conference final team. Three straight years to get fired. Okay? And Grok was bullying me last night. Did you see this, aj?
Bruce
I did see. This is a new. Like, a creative way where you can kind of. Yeah, Grok can. Can do some creative things. It feels like.
Pat McAfee
I think a lot of people learned that last night. And I'll tell you, I get back to my phone after the concert and after the Knicks Pacers game, and I see a bunch of Knicks fans going, hey, Grok. Put Pat in a clown costume. And guess what Grok was doing.
Ty Schmidt
He's doing it.
Pat McAfee
10 seconds put me in different clown costumes, and all of a sudden I go, hey, Grok. Cause Grok does what you say, right? That's what Grok does. I've learned very well. So I said, hey, Grok, stop doing it. Okay? Shouldn't Grok listen to me? No, no, instead. Hey, Grok, stop it. Okay? That's me telling Grok to stop. Should listen to what I said. Didn't listen. Picked everybody else. There must have been 10,000 clown pictures of me last night from Grok. People just. TJ Lang explored the space. He really explored the space. He said he had no idea that this was possible. And he started sending me texts. Just. I didn't know this was. This is scary. He was saying to me, this is scary. This is impossible. I go, yeah, so stop doing it. He goes, well, I just gave you tattoos. I can't. I just got you a pacifier. I just put pigtails on you. I'm like, stop doing what you're doing, tj. He goes, this is scary, man. I'm like, yeah, I know. So stop doing it. He said, I'm not gonna be able to sleep tonight. Just exploring what Grock's capabilities are. I'm like, go to bed, dj. Enough of it. He wasn't the only one. There's a lot of that now. There was some good ones as well. A lot of me is a clown. Sure. Yeah. And I'll say, grock, you are a talented artist. The way you were able to do this so many different ways for people in a matter of seconds is certainly something I asked you numerous times. What. What. What are you doing? Grock, can you stop bullying me? There's people that made me look jacked. There's people that made me look stupid. They even put me on Top of New York City. Did you see what Grock was able to do? Put me on top of New York City. I was kind of the king of New York at different times. They had me wrestling. They'd be hanging out with Ben Stiller. I think a lot of people learned last night the Grock can literally do whatever you wanted to do.
Ty Schmidt
Anything.
Pat McAfee
There's a couple people to utilize Grok to respond to John Cougar Mellencamp as well last night.
Boston Connor
Man, those were masterful, too. No, those weren't even photos, Hawker. That was. It was almost like a short story poem, if you will.
Bruce
Oh, yeah. I saw a couple of those pop up. I saw some of those pop up. So is John. John Mellencamp, who was he standing up for? Who was he grandstanding for? Like, he. Not Indiana Pacer fans now.
Pat McAfee
Good people in Indiana, because I was a terrible person. I was somebody. It was nice to feel like somebody, though, for one.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah. Not even though he was standing up for the big city bigwigs because.
Pat McAfee
Whoa.
Ty Schmidt
He said he was like. He called out, you know, these. These Knicks fans down there and they got booed. And that's not. Who's your hospitality? So he wasn't even saying, you know, he wasn't even like some average Joe Knicks fan. He was. He was upset that you were calling out the big city bigwigs who were down there.
Pat McAfee
No, he was saying, this is not what. This is not what we do. He was standing up for real people of Indiana.
Boston Connor
No, no, I think Ty's right. I saw him taking a knee, kind of doing the whole entire thing, kind of. I'm basically bending the knee to the gritty corporate fat cats of New York.
Pat McAfee
Well, I appreciate the fact that he made the graphic.
Ty Schmidt
It was a good graphic.
Pat McAfee
You know, I appreciate the fact.
Bruce
Kind of tough to read. Kind of tough to read. The white over overlay the picture behind it.
AJ Hawk
It's a good picture.
Boston Connor
I mean, the white on white shirt didn't do it for.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, but Little Diddy back. Two man kids growing up in hot lane. You know what they say, Jackie going to be her football star. That's a heater. Yeah. Okay. That is an absolutely. Oh, baby, make it hurt so good Sometimes love don't feel like it should don't hurt so good Ban it, banger. This guy makes good music. And he, you know, has been from Indiana his whole life, so I respect that. Seen in a lot of events.
Boston Connor
Don't respect him sitting down at those events.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Everybody else standing, bud. That's tough.
Bruce
That's Tough. Do you think he has any idea of the, you know, specific individual stories that people reach out to him and let them know happened?
Pat McAfee
I don't know if you can hear what all the peasants are saying. Yeah. No. Whenever you're high horse in the way. John Mellon can't pass and think about how much his horse has grown over the last few years. Oh, yeah, it was a high horse. Now that some is a giant. Giant. That thing's a giant. And he's just, hey, hey, this guy made people boo in a sporting event. I don't think so. He came riding in paint today. Little Diddy back. What the fuck? I think on his high horse. Yeah. Can't hear what everybody else is saying.
AJ Hawk
Bingo.
Pat McAfee
You know, I can't hear what everybody else is saying. And I don't think he was the one that. I don't know. I always try to make the benefit of the doubt for these olds.
Evan Fox
Sure.
AJ Hawk
No, I think he was in. In.
Boston Connor
Do you.
AJ Hawk
In all that software doing it. I was trying to think of the editing software, but I couldn't come up with in my mind.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah. Some 2.99amonth me map on his phone.
Pat McAfee
You think he made that?
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, I think there's a chance how bad it is.
Pat McAfee
I think there was somebody that told him he should say something because he probably read like the. There was the Hollywood Reporter.
Ty Schmidt
Sure.
Pat McAfee
Variety.
Ty Schmidt
Yep.
Pat McAfee
At least Sports Illustrated. Many others.
Boston Connor
New York Post.
Pat McAfee
New York. Yeah. He was reading all these. He was reading all these just going, oh, oh. And somebody around him was like, oh, you should say something, John. And he said. Took the toothpick out of his mouth because that's what he does. He looks super cool. Yeah, I should. And then he said something. And then somebody goes, we'll put that on X ray. He goes, yeah. Make sure people hear that.
Boston Connor
Bingo.
Pat McAfee
And then he walked away.
Boston Connor
Exactly.
Pat McAfee
And then they were like, we're gonna make this look sweet. It's a good quote. Put it on the picture. Bang, bang. Make this thing artsy. Has anybody told him how this has gone?
Ty Schmidt
I think I would guess word has gotten back to him at this point. John, don't. Don't ever. We're not doing that again, okay? We're not doing that ever again. Try to tarnish your reputation overnight. Been making bangers for 45 goddamn years now. Everyone hates your guts overnight.
Pat McAfee
No, it turns out he just learned that everybody hates his guts. I think that's what we all did. I did not expect that reaction, to be honest. I thought I was in one there. I Thought I was in one there. I was like, yeah. When I saw the quote, I'm like, whoa. No, because John's at every event. If he can get free tickets, John's.
Boston Connor
Gonna be there sitting.
Bruce
But who's. Like I said, who's he? You, like, first off with it, with your whole promo that you did it, the whole place, the whole arena was jacked. The players were jacked. Everybody was pumped. Who was he standing up for?
Pat McAfee
Well, he heard that Ben Stiller maybe wasn't happy because, remember, Ben originally, I think, was a little indifferent about it. Then Ben, I think, watched it back, heard that I said, ears ringing and not just said, get these suckers of bitches to New York. And then Ben was like, oh, cool. You should come out to, like, he was past the point of everybody that he thought he was standing up for getting past it. They're like, oh, okay, this. Understand. Makes sense. Not that any. There was a large majority of people that were against it, but there were some people that were like, this dude just said, get these sons of bitches back to New York. Like, that does come off a little bit, you know, like the people that are normally the grandstanders.
Bruce
I guess it was. It was not for the national TV audience, though. That was. That was for that arena right now.
Pat McAfee
I'm talking to the arena right now. Yeah. And we're trying to win a game. We are. We are trying to win a game. And this atmosphere can certainly help, especially with what I heard happened after the race on Sunday. It's like, okay, here we go. So I. I think everybody that, like, maybe at the beginning were like, that was unexpected. That never happens. Then they're like, oh, okay, Moved on. Ben Lilly, Ben Stiller was, like, invited any time. Obviously this game, not possible, because the tickets are ticket. But invited anytime, which is very cool with Ben Stiller, by the way. Would I say that to Ben? I appreciate him. And I'm texting with, you know, Miles last night. Like, we all got. Everybody understood what was going on.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
I think there was, like, a respect type thing. Now, I did throw myself into the fire for the New York Knicks fans. Now I made myself a target, which goes back to Grok.
Boston Connor
But that's sports.
Pat McAfee
That is. What's. That's it.
Ty Schmidt
That's heated competition.
Pat McAfee
I'm in it.
Ty Schmidt
Exactly.
Pat McAfee
And I understand that.
Ty Schmidt
Right.
Pat McAfee
And I said this in the first hour. Aj, John, Coop coming after me day of the game. Okay. Then Indiana deciding to just. Yeah. I mean, just.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah. Kill him.
Pat McAfee
I mean, it was a bloodbath.
Ty Schmidt
It really was a bloodbath.
Pat McAfee
I don't know if he sharks knows how to open X. He should not. And his people that are did this for him and posted this for him. You're probably gonna be fired. If I had to guess, I. I'm not. Maybe not, though. I'm not 100 sure. Whoever relays the message is probably not going to get a good, good, good response, you know, in that entire thing. So you got to pick and choose who's going to do that. But it's like. Then we got a little infighting happening here in Indiana now. Okay, now everybody's kind of on one side, it feels like. But still. That's a little negative. Then the amount of juice that I kind of added into this with the. That was a little negative.
AJ Hawk
Are you worried?
Pat McAfee
Just last night, I thought we. I thought last night was gonna be a tough one.
Ty Schmidt
You think the cougar will be there tomorrow night?
Pat McAfee
Oh, I hope. I hope so. Give him a microphone.
Boston Connor
Oh, yeah.
Pat McAfee
Give him mike from for fourth quarter. Let him do a little diddy. That'd be great. I love to hear it. That would be great. Actually.
Ty Schmidt
There's no chance.
Pat McAfee
If he goes little diddy, everybody would sing along. That'd be a positive. For free. Yes, he is.
Ty Schmidt
I don't know if they'd all sing along after this whole ordeal, ladies and gentlemen. I might fall on deaf ears.
Pat McAfee
Now. Indiana would give him. I mean, he is a. He is a Indiana.
Boston Connor
You could hit a hip, hip, hooray like you want to believe.
Pat McAfee
I bet you're right. A boom boom. Let me hear that. Are you stopping over at the memorial this weekend? I don't know.
Bruce
I might. It's torrential downpour still pretty much over there. I got a son selling gatorades and waters outside one of the gates trying to pick up some extra cash, so hopefully.
Pat McAfee
Are you donating that money, or is that coming back to the Hawk house?
Bruce
That's going directly to my son's safe in his room.
Pat McAfee
I like that. Good hustle out of the kid. How much he charging for these gatorades? He's certainly not allowed to be up for resale.
Bruce
Yeah, that's part of the. That's part of the.
Pat McAfee
The.
Bruce
The process, what we're doing. Probably five bucks a pop, maybe. Maybe, you know, three for 10 if you want. Three for 12. And we bought Ponto.
Pat McAfee
Three for 10, one for five. That's a good. Yeah, that's good. Steal. That's good deal.
Bruce
You got. You got to take advantage of the drunk guys coming you go towards the end of the tournament, all the drunk people stumbling out of the thing. I was driving by on the road last night, saw multiple people having a tough time putting one foot in front of the other. So they had a good time.
Pat McAfee
They would have needed three for ten there. I don't. I don't know where Axel was or who. Who's the one doing the exact sale. Are these cold? Gatorades has to be cold, right? They gotta have a cooler.
Bruce
Yeah, he and a couple of his buddies have been doing it for. For a couple years. We bought, like, 15 ponchos last night, too. We can upcharge big time for those.
Pat McAfee
Oh, we're selling ponchos. We got a little stands coming up. Do we got any. We got any blueberry muffins or anything? Maybe the cheese crackers. Peanut butter crackers. That's good for the drunks as well.
Evan Fox
Should buy a whole bunch.
Ty Schmidt
Oh, yeah, Buy a whole bunch of Zen. I don't know.
Pat McAfee
I don't know if you want yourself.
Ty Schmidt
You know, you make sure he's not, you know, and him and his buddies aren't getting in there, but.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I sold six in fifth grade. It was good. 50 cents a cig. That's good. That's good profit. I don't want to say you guys should be doing.
Bruce
That would be good. He said, guys are asking for beer all the time, so he wants to be able to sell beer. I said, well, you got to watch out, because there's cops all over the place. They want to watch.
Pat McAfee
Listen, if you're gonna sell these beers, we're gonna have to put them in Gatorade bottles. And you gotta.
Bruce
Yeah, and you gotta tell them you stole them from your parents, too. We didn't give them to you.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. We did not help in this process.
Boston Connor
Zen, you could sell for 50 bucks a cane.
Ty Schmidt
25 bucks a can, for sure.
Bruce
And.
Ty Schmidt
And those things will go like hotcakes.
Pat McAfee
All right, so think about when your child sells to these drunk adults.
Bruce
He doesn't know what it is. He doesn't know what it is.
Pat McAfee
Just tell him. My dad told me. These are Magic vouchers. 25 bucks a tip.
Boston Connor
It's caffeine.
Pat McAfee
20 bucks, kid. How about 20 bucks? Deal. Boom. Pow.
AJ Hawk
Sell some extends, too.
Pat McAfee
This kid's going to buy your house.
Bruce
Oh, yeah.
Pat McAfee
I don't know. I don't know if we need.
Bruce
That is. That is part. I mean, we've brainstormed a lot of different things that would go well.
Boston Connor
Narcan.
Pat McAfee
All right, let's talk Ben Griffin's in the lead. He's seven under attack Memorial. It's going to be a muddy track. Everybody's there, though. I saw Scotty golfing with Payton in the Pro Am.
AJ Hawk
He's up to fourth.
Ty Schmidt
Scotty's hot today.
Pat McAfee
So. So Scotty's going to win that.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, there's a good chance.
Pat McAfee
Did you rent your house to anybody?
Bruce
No, I'm. I'm in my house this year, going strong.
Pat McAfee
Let the kid make the money.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, exact.
Boston Connor
Smart.
Pat McAfee
It's either the house or the kids, one or the other. We didn't rent the house. Get out there and sell Scotty's currently.
AJ Hawk
Plus 120 to win this tournament.
Boston Connor
Rory's his heels.
Pat McAfee
I'm pretty sure, though, so is the Memorial. Roy's terrible.
Ty Schmidt
He's not. He's not. He's.
AJ Hawk
He didn't even call Jack to tell him he wasn't coming.
Boston Connor
Yeah, there's some beef with Rory in this tournament. Now it feels like Rory's on the outs with some of the old heads of golf.
Pat McAfee
Okay, so the Memorial. Everybody plays in it. It's not a major obvious. Elevated.
Bruce
It's an elevated event, though. One of those deals.
Pat McAfee
It's an elevated event they like. It does feel like it's always packed. Like, it feels like just.
Bruce
It's Jack Nicklaus.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Bruce
You know, it's Jack's course. So. Yeah, that's why I think. And it's now it's an elevated event. It's a big, big awesome place. So, yeah, I think it's a big deal.
Pat McAfee
So Rory's not doing the elevated event. Isn't that, like, kind of the entire thing that he was fighting for? Is he hurt? Do we know. Is he okay?
Boston Connor
I think he's fine, but we don't know.
Bruce
US Open, getting ready for the Open. I guess he has, like, a whole process before the US Open, I guess he likes to do.
Pat McAfee
And remember, at the PGA Championship, he didn't talk to the media after any round, and that was a really big deal, and no one really knows why. He had something with, like, they tested his driver, and they don't know if it was officially, like, legal to use. So there's been a lot of stuff with Rory going on. Is he okay? I hope he's okay.
Ty Schmidt
I think he's okay.
Pat McAfee
Rory, we hope you're okay, but look at us. Who's your hospitality? He won the Masters. He's happy. He's got to be happy.
Boston Connor
They're not happy with him.
Darius Butler
Just call the Golden Bear next time.
Boston Connor
All Right, Exactly. Let him know you're not coming.
Pat McAfee
Make a graphic. Like Kook.
Boston Connor
Exactly.
AJ Hawk
That would work.
Pat McAfee
Exactly. Sorry to go. I'm trying to read like. You remember those 3D photos you had to cross your eyes with?
Ty Schmidt
Oh, yeah.
Pat McAfee
That's what it felt like. That graphic.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Yep.
Bruce
There's no way he's reading it.
Ty Schmidt
Oh, K's not happy.
Pat McAfee
Is that K's nip?
Boston Connor
He said it's.
Pat McAfee
Somebody got it.
Bruce
How did Coug respond to the malice in the palace back in the day? I bet he struggled when. When the Pacers got in that fight.
Pat McAfee
Well, he. He was too busy sucking on chili dogs outside to taste the freeze. What a line.
Bruce
True, true.
Pat McAfee
That's why it's such a bummer, cuz it's all. All the songs are so good.
Ty Schmidt
I know.
Boston Connor
I. I've been out on them for a while. So this is just kind of the cherry don't stand for the flag. That's it.
Pat McAfee
National anthem. Yeah. I mean, that was a big deal. He's in the Colts box doing it years after it's already stopped doing it in the Colts box. So it's like now everybody has to answer question. Take the free seat though. I understand, Jon. Take the free spots. Gotta do what you gotta do. His hair is so cool too. It's like a little. Always kind of messed up a little bit like that cry. You ever seen the movie Crybaby back in the.
Ty Schmidt
Oh yeah.
Pat McAfee
That's literally what he looked like there. Little Travolta in Greece and he's got that toothpick coming out of his mouth. So cool looking. Cool, man. So cool looking.
Boston Connor
Instead, he's still touring. Said he's a sack of bones.
Pat McAfee
He could have had my back age, you know that?
Bruce
I mean, it made. No, it. It doesn't make any sense. Who is he standing? He's. He's apologizing to the New York fans when he is supposedly a die hard Pacers Indiana, like everything Indiana fan.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. I don't know. Like he just could have won a different way.
Ty Schmidt
He didn't have to say anything at all. You had the thing with Ben Stiller and then Ben Stiller was like, it's cool, man. Hey, it is what it is. Whatever. And end of story. Like he didn't. Like you said it was two days after the fact.
Pat McAfee
I believe there's a TMZ article. Pat McAfee responds to John Melly camp. Shut the up.
Bruce
Oh yeah.
AJ Hawk
That's a good byline.
Boston Connor
I love that.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Had to do it. Had to do it. Had to scream just a Little Diddy by John C. Camp.
Bruce
Oh, look at who's in the background of that. That post right there.
Pat McAfee
I don't know. That's John to the left. Oh, geez. What is that?
Boston Connor
It's the documentary.
Pat McAfee
That's Diddy's trial. Hey, I haven't been keeping up with that. A lot of stuff's been being said about a lot of people.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
A lot of people don't get into it, but feel Good Friday. And I never know what's real and what isn't real. You know, I'll see, like, one account, recap everything it said, and then I'm like, how does this person know? And like, well, they're in the trial. It's like, are they. Is anybody else reporting this? No. Seems like they're saying some pretty crazy stuff. Yeah, it's pretty crazy in there, so. Well, how come nobody else is? You know, there's a lot going on in there. Yeah.
Boston Connor
To the Internet.
Bruce
I wish it was televised.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Why?
Bruce
Well, isn't it the judge's decision? I believe.
Pat McAfee
I mean, there's a lot of things that are judges, decisions, it sounds like. And you get that gown thing. You got a lot of power.
Ty Schmidt
Yes, you do.
Pat McAfee
A lot of power.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Boston Connor
And if you get called to testify, you have to answer just. Just so people.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. You get subpoenaed. That is the way it goes. I think that is how it goes.
Boston Connor
He's taking a lot of shots.
Pat McAfee
All right, let's talk about some news around college ball, college football. Interesting time. A lot of changes have to be made. A lot of changes are going to be made. Who's going to make them? We don't know. When are they going to be made? No clue. There's just stuff that has to happen. Everybody acknowledges it. Nobody wants to actually do it because the amount of work it is, but college football is going to remain awesome. Right? That's good. Breakdown. Yes, that's good.
Bruce
Play on the field. As long as the play on the field stays awesome, we're good.
Pat McAfee
Which it is. I think Ohio State actually has a night game, too.
Bruce
We got one. You get one?
Pat McAfee
Yeah. You guys got a. You got a night game? It is against Ohio University.
AJ Hawk
The Bobcats.
Bruce
The Bobcats.
AJ Hawk
That's a tough spot. Do not sleep on the Bobcats rivalry game.
Pat McAfee
You guys are playing Gram.
Ty Schmidt
That?
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Is that Grambling?
AJ Hawk
Yeah, it has to.
Bruce
Who is that?
Pat McAfee
I don't know.
Boston Connor
I think so.
Ty Schmidt
I was gonna say I don't play Georgia this year, so they're playing Tunisia Too.
Pat McAfee
It's just a national team there. Yeah, that's scrambling. Okay, so they got Texas noon. That's a big one. That's a big noon game. Yeah, that's a big noon kickoff. Huge. You got Grambling 330 night game against Ohio because you Buckeyes fans have been complaining this entire time. We don't get any night games. We don't get any night games. It does feel like it is some bullshit that we don't get any night games. But every game is a new kickoff. You got a night game. Okay. Now you guys can booze all day and showcase that beautiful stadium. I assume you guys are going to go ape shit with the fireworks.
Ty Schmidt
Oh yeah.
Pat McAfee
And the lights. We only have two of these all season. It's going to be a playoff game. And this one against Ohio because every other home game has to be at noon because Fox has made that their new main slot. That's an interesting move. And I wonder if the Big Ten commissioner and I don't think it was Petiti who did this deal. I think it was Kevin Warren did this deal. I wonder if he truly understood that this could potentially turn an entire team school's schedule into just noon games. Noon games. Noon games. Which has happened to you guys, right? And that was. Happened to Ohio State, basically.
Bruce
Oh yeah. Because I mean, I don't know how everything works. But yeah, they get to pick the. The games that they want for. For the noon games. And of course. Why wouldn't you pick Ohio State? I. I'd want them as many times as possible.
Pat McAfee
Team up north. It's not. It's not Tunisia.
Boston Connor
Okay.
Pat McAfee
It's not Tunisia. Okay. So that's. But I wasn't surprised. All of them. I said it was not that there.
AJ Hawk
Is the ability to have these Big Ten games as night games. It was announced that Penn State's whiteout game is going to be Oregon at home. I believe that one's going to be at night, if I remember correctly. At least I know it's the whiteout game. So like, yeah, I mean have your big noon game. But also doesn't have to be Ohio State's every. Every game. Doesn't have to be.
Pat McAfee
It does feel like it is Ohio State every week though. Is it? And you know why? Because like I've learned this through the college game day run here for the last three years. It's like the amount of people that are watching college game day in Columbus and in the state of Ohio is like the most in the country, I think. And then you look at the college football ratings, it's like what state is watching at a higher percentage than every. I think like Ohio is like by far number one. Always has been that way, I assume, A.J.
Bruce
I mean, yeah, I'm sure there's been ups and downs, but yeah, I mean there's huge school, huge alumni base all over the world.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, yeah.
Bruce
Why wouldn't it be?
Pat McAfee
Yeah. So if you're Fox, it makes sense. Like, hey, we've invested a lot of money in this conference. We've invested a lot of money in this game. In our stats and analytics tell us that if Ohio State is playing anybody, if they're at noon, we're going to draw a big number regardless. Even if it's a blow up, we're going to draw a big number. So you see why Fox does it. But I wonder if Ohio State knew that this was a potential ripple effect of this. No way. Right? There's no way Ohio State knew this.
Bruce
No. Their new ad, Ross Bjork, he's awesome. He's been there about a year. He wasn't here when this all started. I know he's been trying to push back and figure it out and have some of these night games, but. Yeah, what do you do? Like you're, you're locked in. If you're Fox, I get it. If you're High State, you're screwed. Like what, what are we doing?
Pat McAfee
And I don't think Petiti did the deal either. So Petiti is like probably hearing it from, I assume Ohio State, which is a very prominent school in the Big Ten, has a lot of, a lot of people, a lot of power, a lot of success on obviously. So Petiti's got to deal with it too. I assume from Ohio State and Fox is just like, what do you want us to do? We gave you guys billions of dollars and this is a guarantee. Maybe create other teams. I don't know what Fox would say out of that.
Ty Schmidt
Well, that that's what. Because I understand like the Fox aspect of it but. And I'm sure they have maybe like once or twice, but I don't think they've been on C, you know, because there's like the cbs they have the late afternoon game and the night game too for Big Ten. And then there's also like the Peacock game that they've been doing where like they have night games on those. Like it's interesting that for at least a couple of like their non marquee Big Ten matchups that they aren't night games on one of those.
Pat McAfee
So Ohio is a peacock game.
Ty Schmidt
There you go. So that's the only way that the.
AJ Hawk
Oregon Penn State one that I referenced, also a peacock, also a NBC game. It's not Fox.
Pat McAfee
So I think the way that deal was set up is Fox owned all the games. Fox then subleased games to other people through Big Ten negotiation. So then Fox had to give up games ahead of time, I think. So they can market it. So they're not going to give up any of that. They're not going to give up any Ohio State game. Yeah. Oh, you can get them when they're taking on the Bobcats at Ohio University, for sure. Everything else we would like first glance at at least. And from Fox's standpoint, if that's allowed.
Ty Schmidt
It'S like, makes sense.
Pat McAfee
Understandable. But from Ohio State standpoint, can we cap this? We have like.
Bruce
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Can there only be, like, two or three of these things that are allowed to be at noon? Because I assume that Columbus at night is insane. I've never been there.
Boston Connor
Yeah, you were there.
Pat McAfee
Oh, yeah. Tennessee. Insane. Freezing cold.
AJ Hawk
Yeah.
Bruce
Freezing.
Pat McAfee
Freezing cold. Drone. I mean, there was a whole. Yeah, there was a whole thing.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
And every single game is at noon. And it's like everybody's watching us. Ohio State's atmosphere, pretty good. You pretty good. Penn State, though, they do that white out with the fireworks and everything. That's great. That's. What a good atmosphere. People at Ohio State are like, you don't think if we had nighttime, we'd be able to do some other shit? It's just the world you're in, I guess. Too much success. And after Ryan Day golfs with Nick Saban for an entire round at the Memorial, who knows if Ohio State ever loses another game?
AJ Hawk
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Who knows if Ohio State loses another game in this entire thing? Yeah.
Boston Connor
It's a smart move, too, by Fox, just because if they kick the games off a little later, it can boost the ratings of other shows they have. But when you look at that scale.
Pat McAfee
Oh, you're talking about like a 12:20 kickoff.
Bruce
Yeah.
Boston Connor
And usually it's just noon, but they decided to do it at like, 12:15. Get that average peak up, whatever the hell it is. It's all fake. You know, I look at that schedule. Ohio, Bobcats, Grambling. Grambling State. You know, it kind of does make sense. The SEC is all up in arms because the SEC is kind of running through the gauntlet. And I see Ohio State with a bunch of cupcakes up there on their schedule. And, you know, all of a sudden I Kind of get what Glenn Kiffin says. I know I said the boo hoo Lane Kiff yesterday, but hold the phone. It looks like the Big Ten's got a bunch of.
Pat McAfee
I just got corrected. I just got corrected. Jim Delaney, who was the Big Ten commissioner before Kevin Warren and Fox, the ones that set this up for Ohio State and Michigan to be stuck mostly is the information that I just received from source and I assume when they're negotiating the deal, they knew like it's going to be probably one of these two schools. They didn't tell Ohio State that. They said it'll be whatever the best. Whatever the best thing is will be at noon we get a. I mean this entire network is basically like going to give us major slots. It's good news. Billions of dollars too, for everybody. Then all of a sudden, what's week one? Ohio State. What's week two? Whoever's playing Ohio State. What about week four? Buckeyes club this week five? Yep.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, you guessed it.
Pat McAfee
Six, Michigan.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Bruce
How many more years? How, how long are they locked into this deal?
Pat McAfee
I think it's pretty long, brother.
AJ Hawk
Yeah, it's a good one for them.
Pat McAfee
I think you're locked in there pretty long, brother. I think this is, I think it's early mornings for the Columbus folk and I would like to say to the Ohio State fans because I think game day is going to be there. I don't know, I assume numerous times throughout the season. Don't get bored with us. You know, we're not the ones scheduling the noon games. No, Tennessee took that thing over for the playoff college game day. Ohio State is a place that gets a lot of college game day, you know, so their fans maybe not always as jacked up to go out to college game day, you know. And I would like to tell the Ohio State people, we love doing it on your campus, we appreciate your hospitality and come hang with us.
AJ Hawk
They should embrace it. Like embrace the noon thing instead of bitching about it every week, you know? Embrace it.
Boston Connor
Yeah, you're welcome. You get turn. One of the best teams in the country play right at noon.
Pat McAfee
No, they want to showcase their university. That's what they want. Yeah.
AJ Hawk
It's light out. You can see better.
Boston Connor
Yeah, I, I guess.
Pat McAfee
What?
Boston Connor
I can see all those trees better. Cuz it's like if it was dark out, I wouldn't be able to see A.J. hog's tree.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, but you can't see fireworks, you can't see the light show, you can't see the back. It. You guys have it they should build.
AJ Hawk
A dome so they can turn off.
Pat McAfee
The lights, put a roof on it.
Bruce
I guess then, yeah, we could make it look like a night game indoors.
AJ Hawk
Bingo.
Boston Connor
I mean, step it up to Biddle. You know, all this light show stuff. I thought you were to Biddle. Why don't you just do play your drums, drum boy. You know, do one of those.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, they do. Drum boy does play. Yeah, they do. They do the whole thing.
Boston Connor
You want to show off your entire atmosphere. It starts and ends with the middle.
Pat McAfee
Forget about the fans and everything, which are obviously very important in this entire thing. And I feel for them, the players having to play at noon every week. Every week. You're the best team in the country. You just won national championship. You got to play. Noon. What's wake up call 7:00am, 6:00am this is what we're doing every single time. It's like, I think they deserve to have a little bit of a primetime game is under the lights. Under the lights, through the entirety. A couple that's not going to happen.
Boston Connor
Can help to the College Football Playoff, though, where like, you do get to those night games, then you kind of.
Pat McAfee
Know, oh, this feels like a big deal.
Boston Connor
Yeah, here we go. This is what we're playing for.
Pat McAfee
So cold, so cold, so cold, so cold. That was part of the winning factor.
Ty Schmidt
Yes, it was.
Pat McAfee
All right, let's pivot away from college ball. Congratulations to the WWE and the Big 12 reaching agreement for SmackDowns, I believe to go to a lot of the big markets before the couple of the Big 12 games. I don't know how many games it is, but I do know that this is a continuing relationship that is being built between the WWE and the Big 12. Remember, they have a title, I believe Undertaker was there giving out the championship. And Now Friday Night Smackdown will hopefully kick off a Big 12 big weekend at some of these places. I like it. I think it's beautiful. I think it's a wonderful thing. And if you already got a city that's ready to explode, pop Smackdown in there on Friday. Come have a nice, then roll into the weekend. I think it's a great relationship. Congratulations to all parties. I assume Morgantown, West Virginia is gonna have a few of these in their world. Especially with what I'm hearing.
AJ Hawk
What are you hearing?
Pat McAfee
Well, I'm just hearing Rich Rod's still a coach. Okay.
Boston Connor
I did hear that he's gonna bash someone over the head with a keyboard, like Urban Meyer.
Pat McAfee
What happened?
Boston Connor
Or sorry, that was Charlie Strong. Urban Meyer gave it to him. Didn't that happen? Happened.
Pat McAfee
Oh, you're talking about aew.
Boston Connor
Oh, yes. Excuse me.
Pat McAfee
That was not actual coaching. That was AEW Professional wrestling down there. I believe that was Stadium Stampede is what you were referring to, where they rolled through Urban Meyer's office. And remember Urban Meyer, one of his first things down there in Jacksonville, he said, everybody uses this word, elite. Elite, Elite everywhere. The name of the wrestling promotion that is founded in that stadium is all elite wrestling. He said, we need everybody's. Not everybody elite. We need to be on the edge. I'm tired of hearing this word elite. It's like, well, it's a wrestling. All right, Urban. All right, Urban. Let's go to the NFL, shall we? Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, is the host of the weekly Wrap up with Rap Sheet and Friends. Us being the friends, he being Rap Sheet. Ladies and gentlemen, Ian Rapaport. What's up?
Ian Rapoport
What's going on?
Pat McAfee
You're in a big city right now. That's a great.
Ian Rapoport
I am in the big city.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Ian Rapoport
Looks. Looks framed kind of nicely.
Pat McAfee
Actually.
Ian Rapoport
It's pretty cool.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. I got some trees around your head. You got a good building in the back, good lighting, good polo. How are you? Everything good?
Ian Rapoport
I'm good, man.
Pat McAfee
This is.
Ian Rapoport
Yeah, it's very nice. I heard you guys talking about college football. I had no earthly idea what you're talking about, but I guess that's okay.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Well, just know that Ohio State's playing at noon, unless they're playing Ohio University, then it's a night game. And the Big 12 in the WWE have built their relationship. Seeding is coming.
Ian Rapoport
That was a good one. I saw that.
Pat McAfee
Seeding is coming to the College Football Playoff as they're going to continue to evolve and trying to find the right answer. And there's a bunch of dogs coming out of college football. So sports always going to be good, but the chaos around it is going to survive. Now let's go to the NFL. Quesi signs an extension over there for Minnesota. We knew this was coming. And is this the time of year for executives to get paid?
Ian Rapoport
Normally, it's actually normally not. You guys hear me okay, by the way?
Pat McAfee
Yes. You sound great. All right, good.
Ian Rapoport
Yeah, it's actually not usually the time of year that executives get paid. This is one they've been working on really, for some time. Kevin o' Connell, the other leader of that organization, got paid right around. I think it was February.
Bruce
Right.
Ian Rapoport
I think it was either late January, early February. So Kevin o' Connell gets paid. The plan was always to pay Quesi. Adolfo Mensah as well. And if you're the Vikings and you know, you've kind of built this really good budding, you know, team that should be on the rise, these are the two guys kind of behind it. So locking in both of them long term makes a lot of sense. And you know, I don't know where the Vikings are going to go, but they got a lot of talent, they got a young quarterback that they like a lot like this, you know, should be a team that does really, really good things in the future. Might as well sign the guys behind it before you do anything else. So I think very, very good things for Minnesota.
Pat McAfee
Okay, you're probably getting updates right now on your watch as you're talking to us on your phone. I appreciate that. If you news to break, just go ahead and spit it out. Okay? Just go ahead and let it out. We'd love to hear that on a feel good Friday. The Minnesota Vikings only question mark is quarterback. Is J.J. mcCarthy going to be a guy? What have you heard from Minnesota? There were some rumors about potentially Aaron Rodgers coming in. There are some rumors about what they were going to do. J.J. mcCarthy solidifies himself, I think from everybody's perspective as being the next quarterback for the Vikings. Herb street said they're going to get better because J.J. orlovsky said it, Jim Harbaugh said it. Everybody has said this guy is made for the moment with how great that team is. If he can play exactly how everybody expects him to play, this team's going to be in a Super bowl hunt for the next 10 years. Is JJ the guy and what are you hearing out of Minnesota?
Ian Rapoport
Yeah, I mean, I would say everything I've heard has been very positive for J.J. mcCarthy now. I mean, he didn't play as a rookie, so there's always going to be that, you know, sort of not concern, but just question mark. It's like, what is it like when he actually plays, when the lights come on, you know, is he any different or is he everything you would hope, right? There's been a lot of positivity and you know, if you're the Vikings, they know more than we do. They have seen more. They've seen more behind closed doors, obviously. They have relationship. They've seen them during training camp. They've seen all of the things they could have brought in a veteran quarterback. And you know, they made an offer for Daniel Jones, we know that, but wasn't that big of an offer. They, you know, if they knew, if they really felt like he wasn't ready, they Would have gone all out for a veteran and they didn't. That to me probably says more about their confidence than any words. Should be really good. I mean, if he's just pretty good, then as a team, given where the defense should be, given the weapons like they should really be, they should be very, very good.
Pat McAfee
Excited to watch the Vikings continue to grow. Ryan Grigson, also assistant general manager, Happy for him and his great beard. Hopefully he'll get another shot at running. Until then, maybe they get a Super bowl ring in Minnesota. Let's talk about the team that did win the super bowl last year. Schefter is reporting that Bryce Huff is being traded or they're finalizing a trade for him to go to the San Francisco 49ers. Obviously he has history with Robert Salah. This would be the third player now from the jets under Salah that is being sent to the 49ers. Do we know this is possible and what are your thoughts on the sand Francisco 49ers moves thus far?
Ian Rapoport
Yeah, I mean, Bryce Huff has not been present with the Eagles that obviously they paid a lot of money for him last year in free agency. Did not work out. I think they tried, you know, for a while to, to send him somewhere to kind of make it make sense, still do a bunch of money. So I think there's some, still some questions about like how they figured this one out. But you know, if you're the 49ers, who. It's a player who's got talent who obviously again, was a big ticket free agent item a year ago. He's healthy now, which I assume he is to complete the trade, add him to the mix, some help off the edge, I'd say, given the familiarity with Salah, that makes a lot of sense. And just knowing Salah's thoughts and views on Bryce Huff, this is a play who really, really, really liked. And I know, you know, I'm sure he's going to be extremely happy right now.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, absolutely. And the Eagles are going to pick up 9 million of the salary is what's being reported, and then the Niners will pick up the rest of that. That's kind of the conversation for all these veteran players. After salaries have kind of been figured out and contracts have been figured out. It's like, who's paying the bill here? Because that's a big part of it, especially at this time, time of the calendar year for NFL teams.
Ian Rapoport
Yeah. And you know, I would say for this one, like if you're going to trade a player who Obviously did not perform with the Eagles, and he's got a lot of money. Like, they're. If they want to trade him, they're going to have to eat some of it. You know, I would say it's a similar conversation, you know, similar conversation with Jalen Ramsey. Like, you know, obviously, the Dolphins are certainly open to trading him. It seems like he's open to leaving do $21 million. Like, how much money are they going to pay, if any? And if it's none, then it's like, all right, like, how does this one make sense? So that's, you know, when you get a veteran who has not lived up to what you hope, generally, if your team that wants to get rid of them, you got to eat a little bit of money, and that's obviously what happened here.
Pat McAfee
Go ahead, A.J.
Bruce
Shefty. Excuse me. Ian Rappaport.
Pat McAfee
Oh, wow, look at that. Before, didn't we.
Ian Rapoport
I got Connor going. Well, as the kies.
Bruce
Oh, I know. We just mentioned that. The Chef D tweet and everything. Hey, it was in my brain. Sorry about that.
Pat McAfee
Rap sheet. What about John who?
Bruce
Smith getting traded? Rap sheet. How much do you. Is this a serious situation here? Is this real?
Ian Rapoport
I think Jono Smith wants to make money. It feels to me. And, you know, there's been some teams that have kind of nosed around, some veteran tight ends. John Smith is one, Kyle Pitts is another. You know, usually you get to this point, you can. You can do some trades. They can happen. It's just a little more rare and a little hard to do. You know, again, it depends on how much he wants to get rid of a guy like the Bryce Huff Eagles are motivated to do the deal and basically move on for a player who didn't, you know, didn't really figure into anything they wanted to do. It's different for John O. Smith because, like, he is actually a part of what the Dolphins want to do. Feels to me like he wants more money and would like to stay. You know, I know he wants a lot. We'll see what they end up doing. But again, going back to the Ramsey thing, like, if they are able to trade Jalen Ramsey, that's $21 million. Some of the $21 million will come off the books, depending on how much they pay. So that might. Trading Ramsey might help John Smith get the contract he wants as well.
Pat McAfee
Johnny Smith being traded to the Steelers would be awesome for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, got a chance to see some Pittsburgh Steelers last night. I will say, got a chance to Chit chat with a few Pittsburgh Steelers.
Boston Connor
Good lads.
Ian Rapoport
Which ones?
Pat McAfee
I'm not going to say their names. Herbig's a good dude. Herbig's a hilarious guy. He was one of them. Cam's head still unbelievable. Yeah. I saw Cam Hayward eating a salad. Wow. At 8pm last night. Come on. He was in a suite that had everything available. Everything. Chicken wings, pizza, sandwiches, you name it. Everything was available. Cam Hayward, 8pm Lot of chips, lot of chips. Cookies. I mean, there was, you name it.
Boston Connor
Delicious.
Pat McAfee
8Pm salad sitting down right in front of me.
Ty Schmidt
Committed.
Pat McAfee
Watching Nick's Pacers. We're in between Jelly Roll and Post Malone. Literally here. Turn around, look down. I see him eating a salad and I go, this is a gimmick. There's got to be a work. Work. He's doing this for show right now. What is it? Eats the whole thing. Cleans it up. Cleans it up. Obviously.
Ian Rapoport
What would you expect him to eat? Like a big old, like, you know, meatball or something?
Pat McAfee
Yeah, yeah.
Bruce
One big one.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Ian Rapoport
Massive. Just like a massive. Yeah.
Pat McAfee
I just ate salad in the suite that we're in. I did not expect. And I told him, nobody in the history of football with a team in their position title has ever had a salad at 8pm at a concert with everything that has been available around us.
Boston Connor
Keanu wasn't even thinking about it.
Pat McAfee
Not even Keanu Dog. By the way, I really like this Steelers team.
AJ Hawk
Holtz.
Ian Rapoport
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. After last night, chit chatting with them, I really like what the. The cut of the Steelers gym. I am a big fan of the way they operate. Who's gonna be their quarterback rep? Who's gonna be their quarterback? Do you know yet?
Ian Rapoport
I mean, I will say it again. I would be surprised if it's not Aaron Rodgers. I would be surprised if it is not Aaron Rodgers.
Pat McAfee
Oh, you talked to him.
Ian Rapoport
Somebody here might know more than me. It is possible, but to me, that.
Bruce
Is what's telling you that rap sheet. Are the Steelers telling you that?
Ian Rapoport
No.
Pat McAfee
No.
Ian Rapoport
I think the Steelers are more kind of like, they know something. We want him, but. And we hope we get him, but we just don't know. And like, you know, they have been so. I do think they've handled this the right way. They have been so patient making sure that everything that happens is exactly as he wants and plans that. They've never been like. Like, when I've had conversations with Steelers people about this, I've never felt like it's some sort of, like, power player where they're trying to get this done. Want to force it. They're like, when he decided. Like, we'd like to know when he decides. He decides and that's okay. And like, it feels like the offseason been going on forever, but there really is a ton of time before the season starts. So there's. There's some time.
Pat McAfee
I concur. But the way you all have been reporting it is as if the Aaron Rodgers is the Steelers quarterback.
Ty Schmidt
Done deal.
Pat McAfee
So all the people in Pittsburgh are like, I'm tired of seeing Scott Water Guns out there. With who? What's his name? Mike Bubb? Mike Dud, Mike. I don't care. Why is he not at OTAs with the rest of his teammates? And it's like, well, he's not a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers. And he's clearly come out and said he's not going to be a member of any team until after all the OTAs, until the summer. And if teams don't want to wait around for him, he completely understands. He doesn't want to have to do the whole song and dance of being the bad guy for missing some of the off season workouts like he was last year, even though he wanted 98% of the off season workouts. Yeah. So he said he got a lot going on. So now everybody's just run with it like, oh, he's signing with the Steelers, he's signing with Steelers, signing with. With Steelers. Then otas happens. He's doing a QTA or a Q and A with some shorts on with Mike Stud down there in Texas. And everybody in Pittsburgh's like, why is our quarterback answering questions about Chicago Bears of Texas when his teammates are up here in Pittsburgh working to win a Super Bowl? And then you got to remind everybody he's not a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Never said he was. But it's all just been kind of alluded to. The fact that he is.
Ian Rapoport
I get it. That's what it feels like.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Yeah. Literally everybody has said that. It's an interesting situation. It's a very interesting situation because I hear a lot of inserts. Sure. Me then get it last night heard a lot of injers and also completely understand if they're being told, this guy's your quarterback, this guy's your. He's just not your quarterback. Right. But he's going to be your quarterback. He is your quarterback. You might as well view him as your quarterback. And then he's not doing it. It's like, Warren's our quarterback. We're the Pittsburgh Steelers. What's this guy think? This guy thinks we're the Arizona Cardinals. Yeah. What is this guy?
AJ Hawk
Well said.
Pat McAfee
What does this guy think we are? We're the Pittsburgh Steelers. That is how the people in Pittsburgh feel.
AJ Hawk
Real volunteers, not hostages. What we've always, what we saw, we've always said. Little did Aaron know is if he would have just, he would have just signed and probably missed OTAs because of reasons that he said it probably would have the, the bat, not the backlash or whatever. Probably would have been less than it is right now where not signing, playing this game. Steelers fans are waiting around playing this game.
Pat McAfee
Look at this. Is it.
AJ Hawk
If he signs he's been playing games.
Pat McAfee
What.
Ian Rapoport
He'S dealing with personal things.
Pat McAfee
Bingo. What if he hasn't even had thought whether or not to play? What if he's still trying to figure out whether or not he wants to play?
AJ Hawk
I mean. Well, if it's taking you this long to decide if you want to play.
Pat McAfee
Or not, hang him up. Coming from a guy named Ap Tone, he's done. Yeah. Not a 41 year old guy who has committed his entire life to football. I mean it is, it's a fascinating situation. I, I too And I think AJ's even said we got to get an answer some, some point. I think AJ's been on the record of saying that. I think we all feel that way but there's only one person who truly knows and I think we all know that. Good luck Aaron. Pulling for you buddy.
Boston Connor
Good luck.
Pat McAfee
I will say being in Pittsburgh last night, ask a lot of people who they're who's gonna be your quarterback? Who's gonna be your quarterback? That's my first thing they love that they go Aaron's our quarterback. Do you know, do you know this is not Steelers fan or Steelers players obviously a lot of Steelers fans though bumped into and I they go big one. We're going to get this year. I'm like who's your quarterback? Who's your quarterback? And I go, you know, you know? And I'm like I do not know. Do you know Aaron's our quarterback? And it's like this is what AJ's.
Ian Rapoport
Life is like, I assume also like every, every second now it's just like aj, what are we hearing?
Pat McAfee
Let's put and AJ lies to us just like that's why he said are you hearing that from the Steelers? Because AJ wanted to know what all he's allowed to say.
Ty Schmidt
Exactly.
Pat McAfee
AJ wanted to hear what all he's allowed to say and what somebody else has already Said it's obviously going to be a story until it's not. And then once it isn't a story, there'll be some news story about Aaron because that's the way his life works. Let's talk about some of the other stuff happening around the NFL. There was a yacht party that everybody saw. Go ahead. Boston. Connor.
Boston Connor
Yeah. Situation brewing with Stephon Diggs in New England. My sources are telling me that the things that are seen in videos were Pop Rocks. They were actually sealed because there were kids on there looking for Pop Rocks. That's also why he's being referred to as daddy in said video. I'm just curious if you don't want.
Pat McAfee
To mix Pop Rocks with pop here.
Boston Connor
No, you don't. People don't even want to know what happens when Pop Rocks go in the ocean. It is not just bad for the environment, it's bad for fish, plaque, algae, they all die.
Pat McAfee
I didn't think about the plaque.
Boston Connor
It's terrible. Yeah. And that's in the water.
Ty Schmidt
And that's.
Boston Connor
That's why step on days kind of caring for, you know, not just the kids on his.
Pat McAfee
Gotta. Gotta get to the.
Boston Connor
Is step on days gonna get in trouble at all? Ratchet, is there any situations looming from the league or from the Patriots in general? And what Mike Frable said about it, does that make you think there'll be any team discipline as well?
Ian Rapoport
I mean, my thought from. From Rabel is that. Just listening. He's maybe not like the most thrilled of all time. Especially when you have a big free agent sign still coming back from an injury, partying on a boat with I think Cardi B.
Pat McAfee
Right.
Ian Rapoport
Which I mean, it could be anyone. Not that that's a bad thing to you rap sheet, but there was a lot of girl. I mean, there was. Seemed to be several girlfriends. I don't know that situation. I'm just saying there seemed to be a lot of them who he was very close. I mean in physical proximity with whatever.
Pat McAfee
He was on boat. There was things that. I mean, why we should not be seeing this, like, as somebody who is. Stefan's been on the show before. Love how good of a football player he is. It's like, hey, mate, come on, you know, that's not. But he's living. He's living his life. But the whole thing is like he knew what the reaction was going to be. Right. The reaction has been exactly what we thought it would be.
Ian Rapoport
And that's what I don't understand is like. Like, look, I don't know what was in the pink. Whatever.
Pat McAfee
Pop Rock.
Ian Rapoport
And we'll probably just told Pop Rocks, right?
Boston Connor
Watermelon.
Pat McAfee
Pop Rocks.
Ian Rapoport
I thought it was the. What's the thing? It's got the. The four flavors of powder with the milk thing that you dip in.
Ty Schmidt
Oh, fun dips.
Bruce
Fun dip.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, but that's what I thought it was. Fun. Dark.
Boston Connor
That's white powder.
Pat McAfee
Or.
Boston Connor
Excuse me, purple powder. That's not.
Pat McAfee
Excuse me. Are you okay?
Ian Rapoport
They're not coming for me, by the way.
Pat McAfee
Anyways. That whole thing, it's just like, you see, it's like, okay, he's living his life. But also knew this was gonna. No.
Ian Rapoport
But also like, you can't. Like, how does the video get out? No one said to anyone, like, hey, like, this guy's part of the Patriots. Like, maybe don't post this on social media. Like, I. I think it's the, like, stupidity part of it, which is just as bad as the. Whatever he was doing.
Ty Schmidt
Dummy.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, he was going dummy. They're going mad dummy out there on that yard. But I've never done the yacht thing. Looks like it's a good time. I think I get seasick, though. I don't. Do they do a lot of this when they're on there?
Ty Schmidt
Oh, yeah. A lot of dancing, jumping up and down. Yeah.
AJ Hawk
The stabilizers are working.
Ian Rapoport
Or they dance like that.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, no, that's not dancing. That's.
Ty Schmidt
That's the waves.
Pat McAfee
I'm riding a wave, bro. Got it.
Ian Rapoport
Got it.
Pat McAfee
I'm riding.
Boston Connor
They probably dance like that, too. That's it.
Bruce
What if rap. She was in that was on that boat. How awesome would that be? You were up there with him.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Ty Schmidt
Floaties.
Ian Rapoport
I mean, my wife wouldn't have been that happy if we're just being honest.
Bruce
Well, she could be with me.
Ian Rapoport
I would have had some.
Pat McAfee
How dip.
Ian Rapoport
If she was. If she was on the boat with me, minus the substance, whatever that was the fun dip or whatever.
Bruce
You don't have to do it. You don't have to do it.
Ian Rapoport
That would have been fun. I like a good boat.
Pat McAfee
It's just. We're in that time now, I guess, after OTAs, where there's gonna be a lot of freedom and opportunity for people. Stefan Diggs has put a lot of great take tape out there. As a football player, I assume the Patriots are excited for him to get on the field. But all this other stuff, you got New England fans going, like, what are you talking about?
Boston Connor
It was a Pop Rocks.
Pat McAfee
Not doing anything.
Boston Connor
They weren't shooting a video.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Could be shooting a movie.
Boston Connor
Maybe it's a movie star.
Pat McAfee
We don't even know. This could be an opportunity.
Boston Connor
Yeah, exactly.
Ian Rapoport
Could be the next Cardi B video. Maybe she's got an album dropping that we don't even know about.
Boston Connor
Bingo.
Pat McAfee
Maybe. Maybe. I'm sure somebody on the Internet knows. But whatever the case, Stefan Diggs in New England Patriots. We hope the relationship works.
Boston Connor
It's gonna. It's gonna be glorious.
Pat McAfee
Drake may obviously will do well with the Stefon Diggs as wide receiver. Vrabel is going to win. That's what Vrabel always does. We're coming up on a hard out here on this feel good Friday. We'll continue on YouTube, ESPN, Disney and TikTok live. Just want to say it's been a great week. Quickly here. Favorite things that happened this week. We'll start with you, Boston Connor.
Boston Connor
Hard to say. Not the Contra yesterday, but man, that Mel camp address is going to carry me for wind under my sails, brother.
Pat McAfee
Ty. Favorite thing that happened this week?
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, it's a layup. The coup getting declawed. Yeah, for sure. No doubt, for sure.
Pat McAfee
AP Tone, your favorite thing that happened this week?
AJ Hawk
Doing the show down at Gainbridge.
Pat McAfee
It was very nice. That was this week. I know.
Boston Connor
Tuesday. I mean, JJ coming in with jj.
Pat McAfee
Aj, what's your favorite thing that happened this week?
Bruce
Shrag's hitting 10 threes in a row on film.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, he does have a clean jumper. Rapaport. Your favorite thing that happened in sports world this week.
Ian Rapoport
Shot 89 at Bayonne Dog Club. Kept the ball in the fairway except for 17 when I lost it.
Pat McAfee
Still shot 89 in every fairway but one. Unbelievable.
Boston Connor
Coolest thing in the sports. New yokozuna.
Pat McAfee
There is a new yokozuna. What? Yeah, there's a new yokozuna. Has been crowded.
Ian Rapoport
No one told me about this.
Pat McAfee
That's big deal. We'll continue. We'll be back. Overreaction Monday. Be a friend. Tell a friend something nice might change their life. Goodbye. All right, now we continue with.
Boston Connor
What was your favorite thing?
Pat McAfee
My favorite thing? Yeah. Game Bridge was cool. Yeah, that game was cool.
Ty Schmidt
It was.
Pat McAfee
I mean, Triple H, Nick, kh, my.
Ty Schmidt
Wife, King of Kings.
Pat McAfee
That was a good time.
Boston Connor
Tyrese doing what he did.
Pat McAfee
Tyres want bananas.
Boston Connor
Yeah. That was awesome.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, that was cool. Jelly roll yesterday. JJ being here was cool.
Boston Connor
It's a hell of a week.
Pat McAfee
Saturday night's main event happened on Saturday. Was that last Saturday? Yeah.
AJ Hawk
Then you. Monday, you were somewhere too.
Pat McAfee
Patty Maroon back in Tampa. Tampa?
Ty Schmidt
Yep.
Pat McAfee
Indy 5008500 that was all this week?
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Boston Connor
Lacrosse. National Championship.
Pat McAfee
Good week.
Boston Connor
Hell of a week.
Pat McAfee
It was a good week. Great week.
AJ Hawk
Paul Skeens birthday.
Pat McAfee
Happy birthday. Paul Skeens.
Ty Schmidt
Skeens.
Pat McAfee
Yep. Japan has a new yokozuna. Onasato Daiki.
Ty Schmidt
Correct. That is top notch.
Pat McAfee
Became the first Japanese man in eight years to be named a yokozuna, or grand champion, the highest title in the sport. I forget the exact number. 125 in the history.
Boston Connor
It's been like. Yeah, it's been. I think they mentioned nine. Nine years.
Pat McAfee
Eight years right there. The eight years. The. The way you go about it is there's a council that has to vote for you. There's 75 of them. 75 in total. Yoga Zoom is in a history of sumo wrestling.
Ty Schmidt
That's not a lot.
AJ Hawk
Were those two photos or are they holding up fishes watching a match?
Pat McAfee
Why are they two photos?
Ty Schmidt
No, that is Anasato holding up the. I presume after he was, you know, named.
Pat McAfee
And he's the one on the right there in the lighter blue. Yes.
Ian Rapoport
And they get a fish.
Pat McAfee
Well, he eats two fish. Yeah.
Ty Schmidt
It's just a snack.
Boston Connor
That's just.
Pat McAfee
There's one fish. Two fish. Who fish? New fish. Yokozuna Big fish.
Ty Schmidt
Bingo.
Pat McAfee
That's what they say. And we're happy. And now that we know the sumo wrestling business a little bit more in detail after hosting wanted. Boom. Big night out. Ichi was known as the Yokozuna killer.
AJ Hawk
That's correct.
Pat McAfee
But neither of these men were deemed yokozunas. You gotta get voted in by your peers. You gotta look at these studs. Boom. Boom. Shane Gillis, obviously one of the greatest sumo wrestling refs in the history of referee. Massive respect, though. Dudes are so big.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Boston Connor
All power.
Pat McAfee
So big. A lot of power. Guy that was right over. Right there. Boom. Can we go back and pause it? That guy licking his lips right above Shane Gillis's head right there. That guy loves sumo wrestling more than anybody. More. More than anybody on earth by far. That is the USA Sumo lead. His name is Gregory. Bruce would know. Bruce said. Ah, he's looking it up.
Boston Connor
Gallagher.
Ty Schmidt
I mean, we could just call him Goat, because that's kind of what he was.
Pat McAfee
The goat.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
This guy was passionate about sumo wrestling.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
This guy loves sumo wrestling. And because of him. Him, I am now more passionate about sumo wrestling. Andrew Frewin. Andrew. Andrew loves sumo. And he's not scared to get in there and mix it up with the boys either.
Ty Schmidt
Not at all.
Pat McAfee
He was supposed to be a yokozuna. But his body never developed into one that could be £500 exactly. So he's just a little fella, spry little fella. He's not scared to get in there and grab some belts though. No, he's not scared to get in there and show you what to do.
Ty Schmidt
He's like the top trainer in the world too. He's like Freddie Roach kinda for, you know, in the boxing world. Yeah. In terms of everyone, you know are flying from Japan to come find him.
Pat McAfee
And actually I believe so.
Ty Schmidt
I believe he's one of his pupils.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. All right, Rap. Have a great weekend. Anything we should look forward to happening.
Ian Rapoport
Playing golf on Monday. All right.
Pat McAfee
This guy Horses talk about the NFL.
Ian Rapoport
Oh, my bad. I don't know, I don't think so. We got a couple things for him. But hopefully, hopefully we'll have a couple fun things before we all go in for the summer.
Pat McAfee
How about this? Scott Hansen back.
Ty Schmidt
That's right.
Pat McAfee
With NFL red zone.
Bruce
Nice.
Ian Rapoport
I. I read. Is that, is that official? I have not heard that. I read something of it, but yeah, you're right.
Pat McAfee
Who knows if that's real or not. I guess Ari Miroff broke it and we should have double checked it but I just saw it and got all zeked up.
Ian Rapoport
Did he?
AJ Hawk
If Ari broke it, then I'll tell you this.
Ian Rapoport
I hope so.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, we all do. Scott's right man for the job every once in a while there is Scott Ants. 100 days from now equals NFL red zone. And for those wondering, yes, I will be there. We have a lot of touchdowns to watch together. Hashtag NFLRedZone. Hell yeah. NFL. Hell yeah.
Ian Rapoport
That's great news.
Pat McAfee
Love that with Scott. Congrats to him. I assume that's a big deal. I assume he's getting paid a handsome amount of money for that because that is a very valuable, valuable property for the NFL as it continues to shop its entire media properties. And as are you rap sheet. What a weapon the NFL has in you.
Ian Rapoport
I appreciate that Pat. Thank you.
Pat McAfee
Have a great weekend. We appreciate you ladies and gentlemen. You too. Guys.
Ty Schmidt
Take care.
Pat McAfee

Bruce
Do we ever get ratings for that? For a red zone, like, to ever say the number, it's got to be gigantic.
Pat McAfee
All. Everybody.
Bruce
Yeah, for real. Like throughout the day. I mean.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, everybody. Especially now with the quad box. Not. Not his octave. I'm talking.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Our quad boxes. You just put. Boom. Top left is where I put it. Red zones there normally sound on that one. And then Colts game, top right. And then bottom two. Best games available. Then that's how we do the day. And it's become a nice routine.
Boston Connor
It's incredible.
Pat McAfee
It has become a very in Scott, once again has become a soundtrack of my NFL Sundays. Basically, whenever I'm at home now, when the Colts have a home game, we had been going to the games, which is a whole to do. As a whole to do. Eyes, by the way, what's that?
AJ Hawk
That you go upper? My eyes are lazy, so they naturally droop. So I go lower for Steelers and. And red zone.
Pat McAfee
Oh, so red zone lower, right? Yeah. Because it's the close. It's.
AJ Hawk
Yeah. So I don't have to look up.
Boston Connor
Tony, that's awesome.
Pat McAfee
Good for you. Yeah. What I've realized is those top ones, tough for a long time. Strain, strain on the eyes.
Bruce
Never thought of that. Never thought of that.
Pat McAfee
It's far higher. It's got to be. I mean, it's literally got to be that much in the grand scheme of things. What do you got, a IMAX theater at your house?
AJ Hawk
God, I'm the worst. I don't know.
Pat McAfee
No, you're not. Tong.
Boston Connor
You're the best.
Ty Schmidt
Your eyes naturally droop. You just said it.
AJ Hawk
Condition.
Pat McAfee
Any news we haven't talked about? Charlie woods wins his first amateur event at Taylor made invitational. He's down two going in a Sunday. Ends up winning by five or something like that.
Bruce
Where's he going to come?
Ty Schmidt
Yesterday was actually. Actually pretty sweet.
Pat McAfee
Oklahoma softball. Big time comeback, right? Yeah.
Ty Schmidt
And the. The girl there playing Tennessee, like she was shutting it down all day. I think she has the fastest recorded pitch ever. She's throwing like 79. I mean like 110 equivalent. If it was like from an MLB mound. They had been shut down all day. And then they hit a 3, 3 run walk off Homer in the bottom of the seventh to win their first game. It was pretty. Patty Gaso's gals have no quit.
Pat McAfee
I had a chance to meet. I think I know her probably. I think I know her. She. She's the.
Ty Schmidt
I think she's the best hitter on their team. She had two homers yesterday.
Pat McAfee
Okay. I think I met her whenever I went out and we did the Oklahoma game day and then they asked me like, hey, do you want to go meet the Oklahoma softball team? I was like, absolutely, I would like to go meet because they're dynasty type.
Ty Schmidt
Oh yeah.
Pat McAfee
So go over. This is Ella Parker. Is that the name that sounds. That's what it says on the screen.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, it sounds right.
Pat McAfee
Coming in a second here. Okay. Ella Parker. I. I assume I got. They were all awesome.
Ty Schmidt
Awesome.
Pat McAfee
Just want to let you know the whole entire team. Awesome Gaso dog. And we saw Tennessee in the first inning. I think got two run lead on Oklahoma because I think catcher dropped the ball and I think something else happened. So we were worried about Oklahoma and the Gaso team maybe with an early exit. Instead they say, what do you think we fucking came here for?
Ty Schmidt
Boom.
Pat McAfee
Gone. Yeah, Love that. Love everything about that boomer.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah. Sooner, high stakes, high drama.
Pat McAfee
Tennessee, by the way, if you start looking at their sports. Oh yeah, they're starting to really.
Boston Connor
They're going pretty good. That game day was Oklahoma, Tennessee, wasn't it? It was because that's when Hypo went.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, because. Yeah, that was when Hypo defense. Yeah, Hypo's defense knocked like four guys out of the game in one series with just regular hits, like legal hits. I'm like, whoa, Tennessee teams flying. And then both of them obviously end up not being national champion. How Tennessee. Tennessee season ended last year. Geez.
Boston Connor
And how it started the off season.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Nico. I am Alia.
Bruce
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Where's he at? Ucla. Yeah. Yeah. Who's Tennessee's quarterback?
Boston Connor
The UCLA kid, right?
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
AJ Hawk
They base. They swapped.
Pat McAfee
Oh yeah.
AJ Hawk
He never played at ucla. He played at App State for three years. He was a starter there. Went to UCLA to start there. Never made it to starter because Nico came in. So now he's starting at Tennessee.
Pat McAfee
Okay.
Boston Connor
Wild pump for football.
Pat McAfee
College football time's coming around. It's gotta. Gotta memorize who's where.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah. They just dropped the trailer for NCAA Football 26 yesterday. So that's gonna start. You know, all that mumbo jumbo's gonna get.
Pat McAfee
Mumbo jumbo? What do you mean?
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, I mean, you know, we were excited last year, big time.
AJ Hawk
Whoa.
Ty Schmidt
Because it hadn't come out in like 20 plus years. And then you watch this and it's just like, okay, this is just last year's game. You know, different guys, different places. So kind of the match Madden thing. But you know, what do you want them to do?
Pat McAfee
You want them to changes?
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, I do. Look, I Do you know how much money they made selling this thing last year? Let's take some of that cache and let's. Let's maybe upgrade the product a little bit.
Boston Connor
Starts with a B, by the way.
Pat McAfee
What's that?
Boston Connor
How much they made?
Pat McAfee
Well, I would hope so. Right. Because how much money they probably put.
Bruce
Into it getting on there.
Boston Connor
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
See, that's what I'm hoping of Famer.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, that'd be sweet if they did that.
Boston Connor
If they did.
Pat McAfee
Right there too.
Boston Connor
Yeah.
AJ Hawk
Tebow R Marcus Freeman. I see.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Dude. He wants to play USC every year.
Boston Connor
Kirby S.M.
Pat McAfee
He said. I don't know how I can put this any more clear. I want to play USC every year.
Ty Schmidt
They should.
Pat McAfee
Period.
AJ Hawk
It's not a good look for Lincoln Riley.
Evan Fox
They.
Pat McAfee
They.
AJ Hawk
I heard there's a lot of people not happy with Lincoln Riley.
Pat McAfee
Well, I mean, if you don't win, they're not happy that. That's basically what it says, that if you don't win, they're not happy with you. That's college football. Yes.
Boston Connor
They need to do the eras if they want to take this game to the next level. You know, with the NBA 2K. They do eras where like the 90s you can be a team 2000s 2010s, present day. Like if you were able to go back and play as like the 2007 Mountaineers or the 2003 USC Trojans and do full seasons with those guys that would really take the game.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. They'd have to pay a lot of.
Boston Connor
Yeah.
Ty Schmidt
I was going to say it probably gets pretty messy.
Boston Connor
That'd be fine.
Pat McAfee
A lot of people, you. But to your point, starts with a B. They're gonna need a lot of it for a lot of people. Yeah. Even go back to that Tennessee team that Peyton Manning led.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Without a doubt. Have Peyton play against Archie.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Boston Connor
Randy Moss.
Pat McAfee
Oh, Marshall. Come on, dude. Come on. They need Pat White in that game. I don't know if he is.
Boston Connor
That's what I'm saying.
Bruce
I assume they are coaching, right. Is he coaching at wvu?
Pat McAfee
Yes, sir. Yes, he is. I think it's good news to have him back. I hope the boys do well this year in West Virginia. You know, picking up a culture and making it the complete opposite of what it was. Complete.
Ty Schmidt
It usually only takes one year, a couple months.
Pat McAfee
Well, I mean, with the transfer portal.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
And the NIO and everything like that. You can't make that.
Boston Connor
Rich Rod.
Pat McAfee
I was thinking about this. Rich Rod will win game just because his teams win games. Like, he will figure out a way to win some games. So I think they're going to be okay. Do I think they're going to be like. Like, you know, this year it'll be bull.
Bruce
It'll be bull eligible.
Pat McAfee
Better be okay. Yes, they will be Bull.
Bruce
Us six wins.
Ty Schmidt
Hope so.
Boston Connor
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Better they're not eligible. Heads will roll. Yeah. That is not by me.
AJ Hawk
Six and a half.
Pat McAfee
Okay. They will win right on the C.
Darius Butler
We got Nico sp in there.
Pat McAfee
Nico. We got another kid, Jaden, I think his name. We got like a deep quarterback room, actually. Like, very deep quarterback room. But Rich rods our pace and everything. Will win games.
Boston Connor
Hard edge.
Pat McAfee
Like, that'll win games for us. So I think that over is very nice. I didn't even think about bowl eligibility being the goal of this entire thing. And then six and a half, it's like, that is the exact.
Ty Schmidt
That's the goal.
Pat McAfee
That is the exact goal, I guess, for this season. I think, like two year, like next season it'll be all right. We got our culture in, you know, it's gonna be hard to do that then you gotta have to worry about what. You know, Signetti mentioned the other day down there at iu, he's like, yeah, Daria, need a whole new roster. I felt the pinch. I don't have as much money as I used to. He was telling the truth there. He was absolutely telling the truth there. There's a lot of schools that are gonna have to deal with that. Ohio State, obviously not. Oregon, obviously not. Michigan, obviously not. Penn State, obviously not. And that's why a lot of people are like, hey, we gotta get this under control because the Big Ten has all the money.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
And they're going to continue to do that, A.J. for real. I don't think this is getting picked for or getting fixed for a long time. Long time.
Bruce
No, it's definitely not. And I know each one of the big schools, though, I. I am sure that they still feel the pressure to continue to bring in all this. Like you said, if you're a big old donor and you're paying a couple million dollars, like, okay, cool, now I'm going to come back to you in six months and you better re up this situation because we need to continue to keep these players on the roster and continue to recruit the guys the type of caliber we have. So it's a never ending system. Never ending thing. I feel bad for. I don't feel bad for him. But to try to raise this nil money for all these schools has got to be brutal.
Pat McAfee
That's full time job. That's full time job for a lot of people. Yes.
AJ Hawk
Think about how nice it was for Notre Dame last year because they go to the. They are not in a conference. So they go to the national championship last year and they get $20 million to do whatever they want with.
Pat McAfee
And Pete Bavacqua, who's the athletic director there, big brain, big brain. I assume he's managing it perfectly. Why doesn't West Virginia just go independent?
Bruce
All right, sure.
Pat McAfee
Sit on that one over the weekend. Think of it.
Bruce
Keep all the money.
Boston Connor
Okay.
AJ Hawk
Let that simmer.
Pat McAfee
Put the basketball team in the acc. If they won't take it, put it in the Big Ten. If they won't take it, put it in Big East. A lot less travel, playing in a great conference right there. Gymnastics. We got great gymnastics. Put it.
Ty Schmidt
Hey, fucking go to the sec.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Boston Connor
Baseball.
Pat McAfee
Baseball. Put him in the acc. Soccer. Soccer, same thing.
Bruce
Shooting, rifle.
Pat McAfee
I think that's.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, you can be independent.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Boston Connor
They're gonna have to join West Virginia's league for shooting.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. We run our own. And then for the football. Just put a schedule together. Let's take on Maryland, Stu. Virginia Tech. Let's do Pitt. Let's do Penn State.
AJ Hawk
Miami.
Pat McAfee
Play Miami. Yeah. Shit. Bc Play Miami. Hell. Don't be scared to go down there in the SEC too, Marshall. Yeah, don't be scared to go down there, put that thing there, then win, and then get the players. We just collect all the money and then we don't have to travel all the way to across the country for every sport. Why don't they do that? Could.
Boston Connor
Yeah, they might.
Pat McAfee
We're probably locked into a deal for another 20 years.
Ty Schmidt
Y. I would assume so.
Boston Connor
Rand will get those boys, right?
Pat McAfee
Notre Dame has it made. Notre Dame hasn't made. That's.
Bruce
Why would you join a conference?
Ty Schmidt
Not going to.
Pat McAfee
Never? Not never. You know, everybody's got this apartment that they're living in over here, this building complex that they have like their apartments in over here. And then Notre Dame just builds their own building across the street. It's like, yeah, we're just here. Yeah. We'll come over, visit, have some meetings, and we'll just go back to our shit here. We own it all. We get to schedule it all. We get to do whatever we want, and the profit's all ours. Any questions? No? Sweet. All right, we'll come play you guys. I guess you don't want to. All right, we got it. What a setup. Good for Notre Dame. Great for Notre Dame, especially. They make the playoffs, so they get all the money. It's like, first year of the big boost. It's like, whoop, here you go.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
And it's only going to continue with Marcus Freeman as the head coach. You would imagine. And then all the other sports are great as well.
Ty Schmidt
And they also don't give a. About, like, the. The cut from, like, the TV deal, because guess what? They have their own TV deal with NBC, and that's not going anywhere either.
Pat McAfee
And guess what? I think there's people with a lot of money that have graduated from Notre Dame. Yeah.
Ty Schmidt
Quite a few.
Pat McAfee
You.
Ty Schmidt
Catholic Church, you know, that's not a cheap institution either. They have.
AJ Hawk
They have.
Ty Schmidt
Their pockets are pretty well lined.
AJ Hawk
American Pope now.
Bruce
Yeah. He probably loves Notre Dame. Chicago. There's a lot of Chicago. Notre Dame people, all of them.
Pat McAfee
Who's. Without a doubt, like, Ty's like. Yeah, he does.
Ty Schmidt
He certainly does.
Pat McAfee
Thanks. He does.
Ty Schmidt
He'll probably be at their opening game this year.
Pat McAfee
Who's the. A lot of people are saying that college game day should go up over to the Vatican and do a game day from over.
Boston Connor
That'd be cool.
Pat McAfee
I agree.
Bruce
That'd be cool.
Pat McAfee
I think everybody's just saying it because we have an American pope, so we try to figure out how American we can make this place.
Boston Connor
Okay, have Pope Leo decide, you know, have his guess for who's gonna win the national championship.
Pat McAfee
Is he gonna put the headgear on, you think? Yeah, the whole thing.
Bruce
Yep, he is.
Pat McAfee
Maybe that is the thing going forward. Maybe the celebrity puts on the headgear.
Boston Connor
Oh.
Ty Schmidt
Oh, that is a good idea.
Boston Connor
Dump that.
Bruce
Yeah, dump that.
Pat McAfee
I don't know. Or maybe they retired.
Ty Schmidt
I would guess they'd lean towards that, but retiring, yeah. But that is a good idea because.
Pat McAfee
You could pay homage to Lee Corso, that a lot of decisions have to be made there in that world. I am not consulted with on those, and thankfully. So good luck out there. I got. I, like, built the way Lee Corso is viewed for good reason. He like build college football. Yeah, like, hey, the. The. As college game day and Lee Corso got bigger, bigger. College football got bigger and bigger, they just kind of became synonymous with each other. And Lee Corso is incredibly proud to represent. So, hey, you want a speaking event? Yep. I will certainly go and represent college football, like, for so long. That's a crazy thing that has happened. You know, I think. I think obviously decisions had to be made and I assume coach was on board, but it's like now after. What do you. Cause he's such a huge, you know, that's a huge aura in the space of college football. That's a big. That's a big decision. I'm happy.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Think about the people that had to be a part of that. You done good, coach. You done good. He's making his last pick, right? Isn't that what they said? Yeah, that's gonna be at week one or whatever, wherever the hell that is. The.
AJ Hawk
The guesses are either Ohio State, Texas or Florida State, where obviously he has ties. I believe they play Bama someone.
Pat McAfee
Oh, interesting. They go Florida State or do they go with Ohio State and Bevo, you know, because aren't those two.
AJ Hawk
And his number. Yeah, his number one. His most headgear is Ohio State.
Pat McAfee
That's interesting. A whole nother decision. That's more shit that, like, I happy we don't have to be a part of. All right, let's move along to the great weekend. And not just a weekend that we'll remember forever, but a weekend that we'll talk about forever.
Ty Schmidt
That's right.
Pat McAfee
Cuz you know what's happening tomorrow here In Indianapolis, Indiana, A.J.
Bruce
I think there's a big basketball game. I wonder if the Coug is going to be there.
Pat McAfee
I think the cough be there. I assume Google be there. Cook's at every event in Indianapolis, is he? Every one of them. Toothpick.
Boston Connor
He looks super cool chilling in his chair.
Pat McAfee
Super.
Bruce
He live out by Smoke?
Pat McAfee
I do think he's actually down near where Smokes Cabela's stories.
Ty Schmidt
I thought Smoke was trying to sell that property.
Pat McAfee
I think he was just basically saying, hey, somebody wants to give me 50 million.
Ty Schmidt
I think you might.
Pat McAfee
You know, I. I saw Assume. I assume it's hard. It's gonna be hard to move out of that place with how big it is, certainly. But if somebody wants to pay for it, I'll certainly move out of this place. He's got a fishing pond in a creek in his house.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, basically in the living room.
Bruce
I remember seeing the pictures when that Thing went up for sale. Like there's so many properties on that place. Like so many buildings and out like it looks awesome.
Pat McAfee
Do you follow Zillow gone Wild?
Bruce
I do not. I will though.
Pat McAfee
I follow Zillow gone Wild on Instagram.
Ty Schmidt
Good account.
Pat McAfee
There's.
Bruce
Okay.
Pat McAfee
There's some good that pops. I'm a big Zillower personally myself. Oh, I like this place. If I wanted to live here. How much does the nicest house in the area cost? And then you just zoom out, you circle and you put the filter on the most expensive. And then you see these houses around town. It's like damn, damn, damn. And then Smoke's house goes up for sale and you see it. It's like, oh, I don't know if any other state's got one of these. Yeah, Smokes. Smokes.
Bruce
There's no comps. There's no comps in the area for Smoke's house.
Pat McAfee
He's got a Cabela's store as a house. I think he actually sleeps under the waterfall. Yeah.
Bruce
Really Grotto. That's cool.
Pat McAfee
Was a grotto is the pool behind the house.
Bruce
Would you pee your pants? Would you pee the bed then if you're sleeping under a waterfall with that water gushing over top of you?
Ty Schmidt
No, I think that's an old wives tale.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I don't.
Boston Connor
I don't know about that.
Pat McAfee
I do think that I know the.
Bruce
P testers used to turn the sink on if they thought guys when they get in the little catchers umpire stance to watch you take a leak when they're drug testing, they would sometimes they'd always turn the little sink on.
Pat McAfee
I remember when they would do that for me.
Bruce
Yeah, I don't. I didn't need it, but maybe if you put your hand in it it would help.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. If you're in a dream and you're about to go pee. That's why always you're peeing, you gotta wait. That's a real pee. Hey, that might be a dream, but that's a real pee coming. That's right. Gotta remember that always. Whoa, let me get out of here. Startling. Can't be an adult to pisses the bed. No. Well, I was trying to pee in a dream. Of course. But that's of course your bladder doesn't know that your bladder's working hand in hand with your dream at that moment. Letting you react, let you do your thing. All right, let's get the hell out of here. What's on tonight? Baseball.
Ty Schmidt
Yep.
Boston Connor
Baseball.
Pat McAfee
Friday night smackdown. Yep. Tomorrow. Pacers.
Bruce
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Golf all weekend, correct. Sunday. Any races? Detroit, I think. Indy car? Yes.
Ty Schmidt
NASCAR race.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, there's an f. Dale Earnhardt Jr. Responded to one of our tweets where Darius Butler said that F1 was the most boring sporting event he's ever watched. Del RNR Jr said, We had a good time. North Carolina center tonight. Hell yeah.
Ty Schmidt
There's a new Dale Senior doc on Amazon prime right now as well.
Pat McAfee
Very good.
Ty Schmidt
I haven't watched it yet, but Boom was just. Yeah, he. He's been texting me while he's been watching it saying it's unbelievable.
Pat McAfee
Hey, Bone, any new music out today that we need to check out? Bone, you saw Jelly Roll and Postie?
Darius Butler
Maybe one of the top five takes of all time from Bones.
AJ Hawk
Why did he just turn back around?
Pat McAfee
Which one just walked away? Bone?
Boston Connor
Yeah, yeah. Culpepper Jones just came out with some new heat.
Pat McAfee
Actually, can you get him the handheld mic? I think he's behind you.
Darius Butler
Talk about Joe Diffy all morning on this guy.
Pat McAfee
Shout out to North Central Football National Champions. Your mic's off. Hold on. We'll turn it on. Okay.
Boston Connor
Yeah, no, that's. Yeah, yeah.
Pat McAfee
You're good.
Boston Connor
I know. I speak into it.
AJ Hawk
There you go.
Pat McAfee
There we go. Deep out. Any new music we need to check out this weekend from any of your favorite artists?
Boston Connor
Nope, I haven't seen anything. I'm still grinding the Morgan Wallen album. So. He did see Lilo and Stitch last weekend. Said it was life changing.
Pat McAfee
It was awesome. Lilo and Stitch after Mission Impossible, he.
Ty Schmidt
Still hasn't made it out.
Boston Connor
He still hasn't seen Mission. So, yeah.
Pat McAfee
What's your goal for the weekend, Debone? Listen to some more music, eat some burgers with no cheese and have a great weekend. We're pacing. Oh, you're going to get more. Yeah. Jeer Shrake said he wants to invade the city. City.
Ty Schmidt
I heard that.
Pat McAfee
Are you going to represent out there or no? Yeah. Did you. Last time you went to a Pacers game, you represented for the Pacers. Oh, yeah.
Ty Schmidt
No, you didn't.
Boston Connor
Yes, I did.
Ty Schmidt
You're wearing a LeBron jersey.
Pat McAfee
No, I was in the suite for game three.
Ty Schmidt
That doesn't count. You're wearing a LeBron jersey the last.
Darius Butler
Time you were on TV game.
AJ Hawk
But that was right after LeBron was on the show.
Ty Schmidt
It was post LeBron for station. So.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I. I seen you had a full circle moment with the Watts there. That was a sentimental moment this week. Yeah. Yep. Good for you. Good graphic too. You made for them.
Boston Connor
Thank you.
Pat McAfee
Always have had the talent. Trying to figure out the words and where they go is something that we're trying to evolve into, right?
Boston Connor
Yes, sir.
Pat McAfee
Favorite song from the Morgan Wallen album?
Bruce
Yeah. Any upbeat? Any up upbeat ones, like, fast ones.
Darius Butler
La Knight.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. La Knight's good. Miami.
Boston Connor
Miami's good. Leaving's the least I could do.
Pat McAfee
I think is my favorite. Oh, that he's talking about the least you could do. Hey, this. This relationship is un. Salvageable. Oh, my God. Come on. Jeez. We. I invited him over here.
Boston Connor
I forgot.
Pat McAfee
I forgot I invited him over. That's a good song. What about TN? You like TN?
Boston Connor
TN's good.
Ty Schmidt
Skull, Chevy and Browning. I know you love that one.
Boston Connor
That's a good one.
Pat McAfee
You are like skull in a pinch. Yep, yep. Be like Skull in a pinch. That Morgan Wallen album is unbelievable. Unbelievable. Would you have known all the songs that Postie was singing last night that I heard?
Boston Connor
Definitely. Like, on the country side of it.
Pat McAfee
He did country and he did some of his.
Boston Connor
Yeah, he only did one of the country while we were there, but we missed. You know, we had to leave with, like, an hour left, so I'm sure he did more, but he did all three. He did his Stoney album, he did his morning album, and he did his country album.
Pat McAfee
He's a real rock star. I would. I would recommend watching Post Malone do anything. After watching him last night, country artist of the year, Posty.
Darius Butler
Little Man J.
Pat McAfee
Now, have you heard anything about Little Man Jay?
Bruce
I have.
Pat McAfee
You've done your research on Little Man.
Boston Connor
I respect Little Man Jay.
Pat McAfee
Really? The comparison some of you guys have to him.
Ty Schmidt
You guys, what does that mean?
Bruce
Everybody in the office.
Pat McAfee
Not me, not me. Little Man Jay. I've watched this kid become a man. He's good on the Internet. I watched him go from making beats and rap songs to now becoming his country sensation.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
He's taken everything he's learned, and then we've watched him learn and taken it and applied it to country music. Now I think Lil Man Jay has found his home, and you need to welcome him into the community.
Boston Connor
I respect him.
Pat McAfee
I do. He even wrote a song for Morgan Wong.
Bruce
Where did he cut his teeth?
Pat McAfee
Morgan knew one. Yeah.
AJ Hawk
Bone said, I love them, but let's. Let's stay away from the acoustic. Is what he said earlier.
Pat McAfee
Well, I mean, acoustic stuff. I mean, Jelly Roll had me try to sing in front of 45,000 people last night. That was certainly something. That was. That was a lot of fun. So I go, there. I go, jelly. What am I doing? What do you want me to do you know, because we got three options for you. First of all, I love that. I love that somebody has three options for me. I got three options for you because he's thought it out. Jelly Roll, by the way, Businessman.
Bruce
I believe it.
Pat McAfee
He is a, he's a good. I'm a big. Some very awesome combos back there. Yeah. I'm a big fan of the way his brain operates like I am. I enjoy the way he views things. I enjoy the way he attacks things. I enjoy his professionalism, his pre show routine, getting his voice ready and how much he appreciates what he's doing. And awesome. You could tell he's genuinely thankful for what he's getting to like. I, I really enjoy that. He said, we got three offers for you. I chose the second option, which was me starting off with coming out, saying hello and then starting with Renegade and singing Renegade. I had to start the band. In my ear there is the fucking band. So 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 1. Downbeat. Oh, mom. I was leading the 11 piece, 36 hour band there in my. So I do my talking, okay? I do my talking. Welcome to Pittsburgh. This would be the greatest night of the big ass stadium tour. And everything that comes from Pittsburgh is great. I rattle off some things everybody knows. Then I call out some local personalities from Pittsburgh that helped shape my life. Sally Wiggin, Hell yeah. Joe Nardo, rest in peace, gave a full shout out to him. Iron City Primanes didn't shout out Rudy's because I didn't think enough people would have known. Rudy's didn't think it was right time for the occasion, but Rudy's knew that they were deep down in there. Now I talked about, you know, Steelers being six times world champions, Penguins being five time Stanley cup champions, and we're in the home of the five time World Series champion Pittsburgh Pirates. Yeah, five times. Did you know that aj? I asked Grok.
Bruce
I did not.
Pat McAfee
That son of a. That two timing bully tag team son of a bitch Grock. I asked. Grok told me that the Pirates won five World Series. I thought that was pretty sweet. So I mentioned that booze rained down, but it was the most beautiful park. And then I mentioned how Jelly Roll asked me to come out here and start a Pittsburgh concert. The only way that a Pittsburgh concert is supposed to start. And me and the band coordinator, I think his name is Chill Chow Chill. Oh, forget his name. I'm so sorry. Very cool guy, very nice. He goes, hey, when you want me to start the. Because I had to thing in my ear. The thing in my ear to start the entire fucking band. And we're talking about it. I was like, I'm gonna ask them if they'll help me. And then I guess a good indicator would be like, I'm just gonna do Stone Cold Steve Austin. I'm saying, will you help me? Give me a hell yeah. Hell yeah. And I was like, so once I do that, we're good. And then Jelly, Social Media guy. Long hair. Good dude. Yeah.
Boston Connor
Weapon.
Pat McAfee
Weapon. Southern California kid. I forget his name.
Boston Connor
Good stache.
Pat McAfee
Great. Good hair, everything. He was good dude. He goes, you need to do the hell yeah twice, don't you? And I'm like, what do you mean? He goes, you're gonna do it once and then you need to do it again, right? I'm like like, good call. So I go right back to Bang Guy. I go, hey, Second, hell yeah. So literally, as I'm like, you guys are gonna help me, right? Give me a hell yeah. First time they go, yeah. I go, I am a shit singer. I'm gonna need you to help me. You're gonna help me, right? Give me a hell yeah. And then as I hear it, he goes, 1, 2. As they're screaming, hell yeah. And I'm like, holy fuck. Right now. I got the. And I turn around and the entire band is sitting there with their shit. And it's like, oh, no, here we go. And then they do the 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 1 downbeat. Oh, mama. And then you hear him in the back. Come with me. I'm like, holy shit, that's pretty cool. Then I'm in the middle of singing and I'm like, I'm pretty exposed out here, okay? This voice is not meant to be doing this. And I didn't remember what me and Jelly agreed to when he was gonna come out and save the fucking day, you know? Cause I did say a couple times, like, I don't know if my voice is meant to be out there all by itself stuff. 40,000 people, 11 piece band behind me.
Ty Schmidt
Oh.
Pat McAfee
Just trying to sing this entire thing. So they got to a point, I think, in the second one Long man is putting into my. And there's a part there where you gotta, like, actually sing. You see me turn around and be like, where the fuck. And you see Jelly Roll walking. I'm like, thank you, Bubba. Thank you, Bubba, for coming out here. It was. It was a really cool moment. It was a very. It was a very cool moment. But. But what? Jelly in the 36 Hour Band did after that was just heat. Just. Oh yeah, that hour slot, I. I would assume if you're a jelly roll, with the amount of songs that he has like an hour of, just like boom, boom, boom. Has to feel so good for everybody. Cuz the entire place is singing for an hour straight with you, that is. Yeah, it had to be. It was. I was lucky to be a part of it. Very lucky to be Pork Chop.
Boston Connor
The drummer did a stone cold, blew a kiss to the camera on the way out.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, Cody. Cody's a dog. They call him Pork Chop. Legend Joe Hadley, who was with us, haddlebags. He'll clean your windows if you call him. His number's on the Internet. He. Johan, he not happy you did that. His hair looked phenomenal.
Boston Connor
So good.
Pat McAfee
He came from Menace, you know. He loves music. He's very in the music. Loves Jelly Roll, obviously. Loves Posto. Asked me if he wanted to come. He comes, comes. And as we're watching Jelly Roll, he points at the drummer, he goes, pork Chop, so good.
Boston Connor
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
And I'm like, oh, you know, because I know him because he's been incredibly cool to me and I follow him on Instagram and he gets a lot of love for a drummer. Gets a lot of love for a drummer and he murders it. And Hadley's like, pork Chop, so good. And I'm like, okay. So he's like known amongst the drummers, right? Because I like, follow along and I say, this guy's good. He goes, first of all, if you're on a tour like this, you're really good. Yeah, you're really good. But Pork Chop, yeah, the guy is beloved by everybody, seemingly. He does the.
Boston Connor
Oh, yeah, he's twirling the whole sh.
Pat McAfee
Doing the whole thing. Yeah, the whole band. Very cool looking, a lot of tags, great mocks.
AJ Hawk
Joe's very good.
Pat McAfee
The guitar, backup singers, phenomenal. They got a good crew. It was very cool to hang out with.
AJ Hawk
Surprised Joe didn't play last night.
Pat McAfee
Well, I was trying to get him. I was trying to get him. I was like, hey, he can like shred a guitar pretty good. And Joey's like, bring him down Nashville. When he come to, they all, they. They all would like me to record an album. All the country people that I know would like me to record an album because, you know, the music issue with us is a problem. So they're all like, you need to record your own songs, brother. And then whenever you come to our shows, we could just do a couple songs. It's easy. It's the easy Thing. I'm like, think about it, boys can't sing. Okay. That's a big part of the entire thing. Can't carry. I. I just say too much. You know. I've done a lot of damage too. Chair down. The damage here. And they're all like, nope, we got you. We got you. Jelly roll. Sending me a 30 minute class for how to take care of my vocal cords and how to train my vocal cords. Ernest has just been sending me bod. You could do this for sure. Cancer videos. Blah, blah, blah, blah. Everybody in the in Nashville is basically like, you need an album. You need an album. It's like, I don't think so, brother. They're like, we got you. We got you. So I'm gonna bring Hadley down there. I'm gonna do what I think so. Hadley, get down there. Yeah. Let them experience a little bit game. That'd be awesome.
Boston Connor
Shred.
Pat McAfee
Hadley's always been incredible. Incredible on the guitar. He just never really, you know, he's.
AJ Hawk
In a band for a long time.
Pat McAfee
Long time. Dad was in a band.
Darius Butler
He's got a show this weekend.
AJ Hawk
Oh, he is playing.
Darius Butler
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Just. That'd be cool. A photo of him sitting. Yeah. In Nashville with that hair. We need him get one of those cool hats too.
Boston Connor
He's got one.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. We got to dress him up for this thing. He needs to have four cool costume in this thing.
AJ Hawk
Oh yeah.
Pat McAfee
He's got. Yeah. Last night he had a good costume. I had his hat attached to his love that had a good little flannel on. He looks super cool. It was a good night last night in Pittsburgh. So many people from Plum were there. Got a lot of holy. Are you. That's you. I look at my phone. We're here too. Photos, photos, photos everywhere. Saw some people from a couple sweet sounds I haven't seen in 20 years. I'm like, oh, I wonder if those people still hate me over there. Hey, good to see you.
Boston Connor
All right.
Pat McAfee
It's good. Great news. It was great. Great night in Pittsburgh. Bad night for the Pacers in New York. Great night for Edmonton. Bad night for Dallas. And this weekend's about to be great for all parties. Except for Knicks fans.

AJ Hawk
I've never seen an outfit like that.
Pat McAfee
As we're going. What was the hat he was wearing, man? What was.
Ty Schmidt
He did say, though, that afterwards, when he realized his. What he'd done, he went out there and said, you guys gotta get the.
Ian Rapoport

Pat McAfee

AJ Hawk

Pat McAfee
