Pat McAfee
Hello beautiful people and welcome to beautiful Cary, North Carolina for TST 2025. This program starts right now. Concrete Farm is happening here in beautiful Cary, North Carolina. And although it is a glorious sports complex, this wakemed soccer park, and although the turnout is spectacular here for a soccer tournament where there will be $1 million on the line for the winning team. It is hot as shit down here. We're talking about humidity at about 110%. We're talking about high 80s, low 90s. We're talking about the beginning of summer in a beautiful way here. With $1 million on the line. My team, Concave SC debuted a whole new squad this morning. 10:00am we took on Bournemouth, led by Josie Altidor, who will be joining us on this particular program today. And we won three to one. Don't look now. Concave SC is hunting the bag. Concave SC is back. We got new stars, we got new names, same attitude, same grit. And the arena boys are crushing. That's Porch New edition lays it off to regret. Zach gets his first goal of Con Caf. Yeah, they do the. Yeah, I actually told him. The starting seven for the first goal win $500 each. It wasn't until the second half. Meet former All TST team last year. Gets on the board early, hits a gritty, celebrates his life. They were in Azerbaijan last week representing the United States of America. And then in target score time, Mani Ledesma hits a game winner 25 seconds into target score time. Don't want to act like I've been a good coach or a good motivator, but I talked to Monty right there going into TST target score time and I said, buddy, let one crack. He scored against us last year when he was on Cincinnati. It was electrifying. We said we need him on our team. We also got a guy named Drew Ruggles. Ruggles has dreads that have been growing for 13 years. Two years ago when he was on Newtown, had the assist for the million dollar goal. Last year he played on Nani's team. This year he's playing for Conceifa. And in Porch, old buddy on the back right corner of this particular graphic behind Ruggles. He scored the million dollar goal last year to win this entire thing. So our team is stacked, our team is loaded, and we're looking to witness a lot of great competition though. A lot of great people. Seamus is even here representing a German team. He'll be stopping by this particular program. We'll have Paddy Maroon via FaceTime to talk about the NHL Stanley Cup Finals, which Are starting this evening. We'll talk about all the sports happening around the world. We'll. While standing in about 150 degree heat. And we're lucky to do it. It's not just me here. One half of the hammer done. Cowboys. AP Town is here. Tone. Welcome to tst, pal.
AJ Hawk
It's awesome. It feels like when we were young and we were at soccer tournaments when there was anywhere from ages 4 all the way up to 16 playing for like state championships and stuff like that. It's awesome out here. The team is awesome. The artist formerly known as Red Boots, now wearing black boots, also had a hell of a game. The boys are loaded from like, like the. The guys that, like, everybody knows, like Grella and that all those guys, like, they. They actually, they were like, hey, you guys, you Arena Boilers, you guys do what you need to do up front. We're just going to hold it down back here. What this team is going for it.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, we are. We're trying to put a little pressure on. And Tony Meola did some good coaching. Yeah, always in. Tab Ramos, obviously a guy who is a Mount Rushmore United States player. I've done a lot of research and learned about him over the last like 48 hours after I found out he was going to be coaching on our team. He's a dog. His boy Alex.
Ty Schmidt
Oh, yeah.
Pat McAfee
Influencer in the soccer world. And then obviously Coach Gumpy was doing his thing today, of course, chirped the ref one time. Think the refs actually had a good first game.
AJ Hawk
Yeah, felt like it.
Pat McAfee
Now the Bournemouth team started getting a little chippy because they started getting a little tired. Sure. Now, I did warn them that our team will fight you.
Ty Schmidt
Oh, yeah.
Pat McAfee
Our team is not scared to fight you. That is kind of our thing, actually. So Bournemouth backed off. It was a great gentleman's game. Handshake to them. We move on undefeated. Let's go to the toxic table at Boston Connor and at Ty Schmidt, con man. I see the chain. Do you have the vibes of a soccer fan this week? Yeah.
Boston Connor
Yeah, I'm definitely one of the concave crazies. You know, it feels good to be able to sit up here, watch the game. I'm glad you guys were on this field. A lot of new names. You know, you mentioned the back porch. He's a great player. Lime Green Boots, also known as Cho, also known as Water Bug. He's a hell of a player. He's all over the place. And the. The boys try, you know, Brek Shea. I think that's the biggest thing. Breche's giving it his all out there. You mentioned Led Zema, which I definitely just screwed his name up. Zeppelin is his nickname. Zeppelin. He had a play down here. Two seconds later, guys on the other side of the field breaking up a play. So it is a team that is both skilled, both gives high energy, and they are young guys. There are old guys, Bre. And there are. Everybody in between would like to see a little more from Grella. Guy who's asking for 20k to play. He's going out there and basically just cutting.
Pat McAfee
We're past that, remember? We're past that.
Boston Connor
I don't know. He's cutting grass with his cleats. That's all I saw.
Pat McAfee
It's a long tournament. There's a lot of. We had a lot of subs. We were playing a deep rotation this year. We learned from coach Carla. Last year we were like tibs. Not a lot of sub in it. We were very only playing a few guys. Today everybody was in. Everybody was in rotating. Because it's a lot of soccer left, which I know you're excited for, Taj.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, absolutely. I mean, it's great seeing the boys again. You know, I know I'm not on the roster, but last year, you know, I feel like we really ingratiated with the entire team. Like Tony mentioned, I almost had a heart attack up here when I saw Mario Alvarez come out. My favorite player. Red boots. He's not wearing red boots this year. He's wearing black boots. But boy, did he look good.
Darius Butler
You're right.
Ty Schmidt
I mean, this is a. This is a who's who of, you know, soccer sensations when it comes to TST. What a luxury to be able every 7 you got out there, hey, they might be the best seven on the pitch, you know, I mean, it's. You know, everyone's trying to win.
Pat McAfee
There's black boots right there.
Ty Schmidt
And what a touch by black boots.
Pat McAfee
And what a touch by me going.
Ty Schmidt
Exactly. So when.
Pat McAfee
When.
Ty Schmidt
That's just a little taste when you can do that, you know, anytime you're out on the pitch, Concave is going deep in this thing. They are. There's just no if, ands or buts about it.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. I love everything that you're saying. And, you know, I talked about the boys playing mini football over in Azerbaijan.
AJ Hawk
Sure.
Pat McAfee
Last week. It did not go well.
Ty Schmidt
Oh, really? Yeah.
Pat McAfee
I guess the boys are coming off quite an ass beating.
Ty Schmidt
Hungry.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Quite an ass beating in Azerbaijan. I think there was a couple medical incidents that happened over there as well. Oh, no, we're talking about fresh out of a bad experience, ready to have a great one. I appreciate the hell out of these Arena League boys. And everybody else back for Kong Keifa. Let's go to a man who's a college football national champion, a Super bowl champion, a Ryder cup winner, and an avid soccer enthusiast. Ladies and gentlemen, A.J. hawk is here. Hawker. Welcome back to Cary, North Carolina. It's good to be here. A little bit of a crowd has. Has built here. It's pretty wild, actually. They're up on the hill, too. Fox, if you turn that thing left, it's got to be a thousand degrees out there. It has got to be a thousand degrees up on this hill and. Yeah, yeah, we appreciate you guys. Yeah. Look at this crew. A lot of these people are being forced to listen to us, too. They got speakers going everywhere throughout the entire park. We appreciate you bearing with us for the next couple of hours as we enjoy the hell out of Cary, North Carolina. Great to be back though age this place.
Seamus
Unbelievable. It's so nice. The people are cool and I get back to gameplay. The goal, our second half goalie today. You can't punt it and you can't what, drop kick it. He did like a sidewinder kick. He almost scored a goal.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. New rule. Yeah, he punted it and tried to score immediately.
Seamus
He's getting around the rules somehow.
Pat McAfee
Immediately upon getting onto the field, Phil E. Okay. Who is an absolute dog. I don't want to give anything away, but after the tournament, we'll talk about what Phil E. Is battling through right now.
Josie Altidore
Okay?
Pat McAfee
Just know that he's not 100% okay. But it doesn't matter because Phil E. Is going to be able to figure it out. But yeah, I like, he put a stamp on it as soon as he got the ball. I'm punting this thing to full length of the field. New rule this year. Can't do that.
Boston Connor
No rule.
Pat McAfee
He can't make it.
Seamus
Unbelievably, unbelievably accurate.
AJ Hawk
A couple great throws down the sideline, too.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, Phil, he's a powerhouse, Phil. He's former goalie of the year in the masl.
Boston Connor
Stonewall, too.
Pat McAfee
Stoner in the first half, big stop. Also had a big time pass. So the difference here, for those that are following along, Arena League boys play indoor, okay? Five on five of the goalie. Goalie has to be able to play with their feet because they are an added player. So, like, goal smaller. So goalie has to be able to stop shots. But goalie has to be able to play with their feet. Because how small the field is, how many limited amount of people there are now. That's why Meat is wearing a penny right there. Because meet one of our players would go back and play goalie in target score time. Because. Because it adds an offensive player to the field. If they can stop balls as Meat did last year. Good. Stoner is an outdoor goalie used to the big field, not used to having to play with his feet. I think this last year he's worked on his feet understanding what situation is. Stoner's standing on his head and he's making big outlet passes. Feels like we got better all around the pitch as Drip FC fouls the shit out of somebody to start this entire thing. Nine year NFL vet Darius J. Butler is here. D. Bucks, this your first time in a soccer tournament?
Darius Butler
Yes, sir, first time ever. And it's been elite, electric. And regardless of the sport, one thing, the first thing you look at is when the guys get off the bus. And looking at your squad off the bus, you see a lot of big guys, physicality, big fellas, and they play well, man. AJ was over here suggesting maybe some new rules. Maybe a two point play from like.
Seamus
The 50 yard line. Give me a two point goal.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I think it's not a bad idea.
Darius Butler
Yeah, that would be electric, but it's been electric so far, man. Glad we started off with a win. Looking forward to a deep run this year.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, there's a chance you can hit a deep ball too, because the goalies are out playing with their feet. Yeah. I mean, their goalie was almost trapped all the way in the other half. And if we were able to take advantage of that and score. Hello. We're talking about Marshy, you know, with empty net, sending that thing from coast to coast, which is what we really need in the entirety. It's a beautiful tournament. It's a beautiful city. And it's a missed shot. Can't do that against our team. The first half, though. These games, I think everybody's kind of feeling it out.
Darius Butler
Yep.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, like our team was even feeling it out.
Boston Connor
Still much more crisp though. Your team.
Pat McAfee
Our team, definitely.
AJ Hawk
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
We had a preseason. We had a preseason, so. So we had three scrimmages on Monday as opposed to our first game in the tournament being our. Hey, let's play for the first time together. We did that on Monday and I heard the first game that we played on Monday. Horrid.
Ty Schmidt
Okay.
Pat McAfee
Heard absolutely horrid. Boys had no idea what to do. Second game we Got it together. Third game, now we're playing ball. So in the first half, we had to figure it out against another team. We were sitting. I think we dominated ball control like 98%. Yeah. I think it was like 18 minutes to two minutes we had the ball. We just weren't able to crack. We weren't able to get in. And then in the second half, we knew once we had it moving, boys.
AJ Hawk
Are going to hunt any pucks on net. Talk in. In that situation.
Pat McAfee
So a lot of me yelling, I don't know if you hear me going, yeah, I mean, that is me telling.
AJ Hawk
Him, rip one, let's rip.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, we try think about having one here. You know, wanted that. Yeah, exactly. That's what we were yelling. Come up here.
Pat McAfee
What it sound like when you said it?
Ty Schmidt
Just like, hey, me maybe think about having one here. Maybe you want to have one here. You know, anytime he's got the. The.
Pat McAfee
The ball. Can you hear you or no, you think?
Ty Schmidt
I heard a couple times. I think he did.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Ty Schmidt
I think he knows anytime he's got possession, he's kind of thinking about he might want to have one.
Pat McAfee
Meat is a lot of the lads.
Boston Connor
Having one is shoot boots. If we owe boots, boots, boots, boots.
Pat McAfee
That's like, hey, get the ball down.
Boston Connor
Look center. There might be someone with their boots out back door.
AJ Hawk
Conor's also really big on marking a guy now.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Boston Connor
Good mark, good mark. Mark one, Mark one. I heard Phil say that earlier and I thought, oh, that's pretty cool. I like that.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Mark is just playing, getting somebody.
Boston Connor
Yeah, yeah. Good mark, good mark.
Darius Butler
Is it. Is it man to man? Is it like man to man? Sag, Dolph, or some type of zone.
Pat McAfee
We're awesome zone, inside out zone.
Darius Butler
Okay.
Pat McAfee
But also man to man, whenever they get. When they're running, you have to pick somebody up. You have to mark somebody.
Boston Connor
You gotta mark.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, it's a big deal. So it's a zone transition into man. Like it, you know, it's a. It's cover man zone match.
Darius Butler
We know that.
Pat McAfee
Let's talk about some of the other sports that are happening around us tonight. The NHL Stanley cup finals begin and congratulations to the Florida Panthers making it back and representing the Eastern Conference. Yes, we beat the. Out of the.
Darius Butler
Yes. Yes.
Pat McAfee
Oh, no. Real quick, real quick. Another great run by the Carolina Hurricane. Hey, all the way. This won't be able to get over. Just won't be able to get over the hump. Potentially, that is a fear. But you have to be able to lose in those big moments, to be able to win. In those big moments. Carolina Hurricanes are on the up and up like they were last year. And the year before that.
Ty Schmidt
Exactly.
Pat McAfee
And the year before that. But they will. They will continue to go. And we respect the hell out of the Caniacs, which there are certainly many of them here represented today right down the road in Raleigh. We are currently in Cary. I believe this is a triangle area of the two really smart schools.
Ty Schmidt
Oh, okay.
AJ Hawk
Durham's down the road, which is Duke. UNC is very, very close, obviously. NC State, basically where we're at.
Darius Butler
Where's Wake Forest?
Boston Connor
Chapel Hill.
AJ Hawk
Oh, this is Wake Med. Is. Is Wake right around there, too?
Pat McAfee
I assume Wake Forest is around here.
Boston Connor
Yeah. I think Wake Forest is the one who opened up that little town we were in last night. Oh, very wonderful place. There's a couple restaurants there you should probably steer clear from. Boy, I wasn't sure if we were wanting to get into this.
Pat McAfee
I didn't know if the first night we're in town, we should talk about it, but we can wait.
Boston Connor
I just want to make sure.
Pat McAfee
I did tell. I did tell the best person in that entire restaurant.
Ty Schmidt
Without a doubt.
Pat McAfee
There was one hero that came into that restaurant and saved our life.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, We.
Pat McAfee
We just asked if you could take our group. They decided to take our group.
Ty Schmidt
Sure.
Pat McAfee
They didn't tell the servers or the chefs? No servers. And the chefs were not happy that they took our group as late as they took our group. Very nice steakhouse. Worst experience I've ever had. No questions asked.
Seamus
What happened?
Boston Connor
Par. None.
AJ Hawk
Like food.
Pat McAfee
Like food wasn't great or food didn't come. What are we talking about?
Darius Butler
Whole operation.
Pat McAfee
It was just.
Seamus
It's kind of why you went there.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. We just wanted food and water.
AJ Hawk
This particular restaurant is known across the.
Pat McAfee
Nation for being very good.
Ty Schmidt
Very good.
Darius Butler
It fell. It fell on the shoulders of one. One man.
Ty Schmidt
Yes, it did.
Seamus
One guy committed to chef having to bring partying. When they were probably about to close.
Pat McAfee
And they thought they were done, everybody was clocking out of the restaurant.
Seamus
They hate that guy.
Pat McAfee
So somebody said, no problem. You could definitely serve you. Nobody told them they were still working, though. So, you know, water. 60, 70 minutes later, just water. That's all we wanted. Apps. Don't even think about it. We're out, we're out, we're out. We don't have that. Don't have.
Boston Connor
It was a very.
Seamus
It's like a prominent place. You went like. I've heard of the place.
Boston Connor
You.
Ty Schmidt
Yes, very much so.
Darius Butler
Thanks. So you served us the shrimp cocktail.
Pat McAfee
It was a thing. But Raleigh was beautiful. It was beautiful.
Darius Butler
It was downtown.
Seamus
What is little town.
AJ Hawk
It's a nice little town.
Boston Connor
If you need to ask, you'll never know.
Pat McAfee
Anyways, Florida Panthers beat the hell out of the Carolina Hurricanes. They go to. They go to the Stanley cup finals to take on the Edmonton Oilers here. Big Stanley cup final tonight. Now obviously they are looking to go back to back. This Florida Panthers team. There's only been seven or eight teams, I believe, who have gone back to back. You're talking about a dynastic run here, a run that will be talked about forever. Whenever you talk about the Stanley cup, when you go back to back on Lordo, obviously, because they put everybody's name on there, you take up some real real estate on the Stanley Cup. So whenever Howard or Harold, hard nose Harold, Howie, when Howie is walking that Stanley cup around the globe to all the different events and places, you're going to see your team taking up a massive piece of that Stanley Cup. Only the great teams, the teams that are considered the greatest of all time, have been able to go back to back. Three straight finals, obviously. Congratulations to the Florida Panthers for that. Will they be able to go back to back? We shall see. Kachuk's a dog. Yes. Bob's a beast in the net. Everything they stand for. We love hockey, loves Marshy will fight you still at this age, that entire team will. But they're taking on a guy who has Jesus Christ in his nickname. Yep, yep. You're taking on Mick Jesus. This Connor McDavid guy, he's faster than everybody else on the ice somehow. And it looks like he's playing against children whenever he has the puck on his stick. It makes no sense. He's so talented that the NHL actually asked him to put together the talent portion and the skill portion of the All Star Game. Hey, what do you do? What do you think would be a good talent? What do you think would be fun to work on? That's what we'll do at the All Star Game. He's special.
Paddy Maroon
Wow.
Pat McAfee
He is so incredible. And he's carried this Edmonton Oilers team on his back for the last couple years. Last year they weren't able to get it done. This year, can they. That is the storyline and I think we got a good one going into the final.
AJ Hawk
It gives me huge. And obviously we were following the team so it's easier to speak on 0809. For years and years, years, the Red Wings were basically like the Florida Panthers where they were Absolutely dominant. We had a studded young Sidney Crosby and Geno Malkin who come in first time. They play him in this.
Pat McAfee
In.
AJ Hawk
In the cup. Sid doesn't touch the. The trophy after the. After the final conference finals, they lose the first cup to Detroit. They make it all the way back the next year to face them again. Touches the. The conference final cup that time. And then Sid and Geno and the boys flower made a huge sir save. They get the cup in the second time. But like the McDavid Sid comparison as far as like going up against the big bad Wolf as the Panthers of being the best, most skilled player in the league. It kind of feels like that 0809 situation.
Darius Butler
Yeah. I'm not worried about it at all.
Pat McAfee
You were worried about the Carolina Hurricanes. I saw you sweating.
Darius Butler
It was not.
Pat McAfee
You were sweating at all.
Darius Butler
The game that I was able to make it to, we beat there, I think six, two. But that's. That's where they. You know, that's where they fall short. But this is our third time in the final and the boys are ready. The boys are ready to run it back. Obviously, McDavid is. I won't call him McJesus. McJesus was not. Canadians. Can't wait to rip Canada's heart out one more time. I can't wait to get back around Lord Stanley, too. I missed it when he came. When he came into the studio. But we'll touch that thing again. Pause. You mentioned Chucky. It starts with our captain, Barkey. Barkey just won another. What's the award he just won A selkie just won.
Boston Connor
The defensive forward.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Darius Butler
Yep. He's an absolute dog. Obviously added Marshy, we added Jonesy, so we added depth to the core. Guys that are there and they're running back, man.
Pat McAfee
The good news is it'll be a great game tonight like that. This will be phenomenal to watch. This will be incredible entertainment. And they'll be physical as. And Edmonton knows that that's going to happen as well.
Boston Connor
Yeah. Bingo. You just wonder if they can, you know, kind of block out the. The Rats of Florida. Gumpy mentioned it throughout the entire series of Edmonton and Dallas. It's coming down to Stu skin, baby.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Boston Connor
If the Edmonton goalie, Stu Skinner, who was benched, came in in relief, now has turned it back on, if he can continue to play. Well, then all of a sudden we might be talking about the Edmonton Oilers kind of going on a run here, fulfilling Connor McDavid's destiny for glory. But you know, Brad Marchand, a Lot.
Paddy Maroon
Of pesky guys they added.
Pat McAfee
He was born to be a Florida Panthers says could shock. That has to hurt up there in Boston. You guys just trade him out. He's gonna go in another Stanley Cup. Let's go back to the truck. Nikki Skates, you have some thoughts on tonight? Yeah. Whoa, what a. Shut up.
AJ Hawk
How many buttons do you have?
Pat McAfee
Yeah, slide them.
AJ Hawk
Yeah. You guys covered it pretty well. But I mean obviously the big story being McJesus and dry settle the dynamic duo at Edmonton. Something that's being discussed on the Internet. And we've seen the perennial run here by Tampa Bay. They go three years in a row now Florida's gone three years in a row. Tampa Bay used a lot of tactics of putting guys on the long term IR and stashing them until the playoffs. That is going to be addressed allegedly by the CBA negotiations potentially and some of the owners getting together in the offseason. Something they're talking about now, and it's mostly led by upset Toronto fans like Paul Bissonnette is teams that have no state income tax. Do they have an advantage in the league? One's crying foul.
Pat McAfee
Yes, they do.
AJ Hawk
Have been able to do this.
Pat McAfee
Teams that are in Canada. Do you have a tax Massive disadvantage. Yeah. Yes. Yes. You. You want to win a cup? Change the tax. That's biz saying. Listen, Florida is able to just knock off 8% of the state income tax. 6%. What's that all about?
Darius Butler
Bitching about it now. Is that a new rule? We just changed the income tax rule. Was that like.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, it's been around a long time. How about Tennessee, Nashville?
Boston Connor
Which business want you to do though?
Pat McAfee
Texas too. Right then Texas.
Josie Altidore
Yeah.
Ty Schmidt
Remember Washington, Nevada.
Boston Connor
You had Nevada, Arizona. Even though they just got rid of their team.
Pat McAfee
We think Indiana needs to do that.
Boston Connor
I agree.
Pat McAfee
I just got a text from Johnny Damon. Johnny Damon, Big fan of the Yankee legend. He's sponsoring Drip fc.
Boston Connor
Let's go.
Pat McAfee
Hey man. I'm just saying hi. I'm out here sponsoring my team, Drip fc. We're on the field behind you. Just wanted to say what's up.
Boston Connor
Where is he?
Darius Butler
Huge fan of the program.
AJ Hawk
See have the large beard still.
Ty Schmidt
No, he got rid of that.
Darius Butler
Looks good too. I ran into him.
Boston Connor
Love you.
Pat McAfee
Johnny.
Boston Connor
Bananas A few.
Darius Butler
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Where is he?
AJ Hawk
Coach for Drip FC is wearing a full suit, so.
Darius Butler
No, look at him.
Boston Connor
Straight ahead, straight across. I love that Damon. I'm just waving. He's just waving. He's a Red Sox.
Ty Schmidt
I don't know. Does look for a guy holding a Baseball bat.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, speaking of. Hold on now.
Boston Connor
Let's talk about drinking a beer.
Pat McAfee
That's good. Transition. Shout out to us Baseball dropping off some swag. They are located I believe in carry North Carolina. Is that accurate?
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, I believe so.
Pat McAfee
Okay. Our U.S. baseball team, we lost to Japan. Right in the super duper.
Ty Schmidt
O' Shaughnessy the Prost.
Pat McAfee
Hey, yeah. He's got the handheld. Nick Frost. Everybody here you gonna be. We got be.
Ty Schmidt
Oh, I'm allergic. Stay away. Stay away.
Pat McAfee
Boom.
AJ Hawk
Save the bees.
Darius Butler
Thank you, sir.
Boston Connor
Oh, thanks.
Pat McAfee
Be. You want one? You want one? Thanks. B. Looks like wants to booze a little bit.
Ty Schmidt
Chair.
Boston Connor
Shamus, Seamus has SPF250 on smart.
Pat McAfee
That's a smart decision. Hey, use that. You want to give it?
Paddy Maroon
I say it in Germany, guys.
Pat McAfee
Prost.
Paddy Maroon
Prost.
Pat McAfee
What's that? Cheers. You're not gonna give a toast at all or anything?
AJ Hawk
Salud.
Pat McAfee
Toast. You should give a toast. You should give a toast.
Paddy Maroon
I should.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Yeah.
Darius Butler
Good apple juice.
AJ Hawk
Watch out for that camera, B.
Paddy Maroon
Well, once again, I'm on the Pat McAfee Show.
Pat McAfee
That's right.
Paddy Maroon
An honor that it is. With the greatest crew. Greatest, greatest crew you could ever have. To a great tournament to bbb winning it all.
Pat McAfee
Slot your Lance.
I
Prost.
Paddy Maroon
Let's go.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. To Concave. What is. What type of beer is this? This is one of those, like, super flavorful beers where the brewer says, I put my heart, my soul and my entire backyard into this. Not bad at all. It's going to have a lot of flavor.
Paddy Maroon
Proper German beer.
Pat McAfee
It's proper German beer.
Paddy Maroon
The Germans know how to drink beer. I had to drink Guinness, but the Germans definitely know how to drink beer.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, beer spines, right? That's what they do. That's it.
Boston Connor
This is delicious today.
Paddy Maroon
So you have a chair, extra chair there.
AJ Hawk
Shame.
Paddy Maroon
It's right here, brother. Where you going to sit?
AJ Hawk
No, no, no.
Ty Schmidt
Slide down one.
Pat McAfee
All right. You got a headset right there.
Paddy Maroon
Oh, perfect.
Boston Connor
This is kind of like a Labat with the Coors light. Kind of a perfect.
Josie Altidore
Delicious.
Ty Schmidt
It's a good way of phrasing it.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, that went down real smooth. I was supposed to maybe play in that second game tonight. Why would I do that? Trip FC Drip fc. Oh, David's boys came to play.
Darius Butler
We knew it. Saw him off the bus.
Pat McAfee
Okay. Welcome to the show, Seamus. It is an honor to have you. We appreciate you. You're currently acting as the team representative of what's team?
Paddy Maroon
Russia Dortmund.
Pat McAfee
Who?
Paddy Maroon
Borussia Dortmund.
Boston Connor
Russia.
Paddy Maroon
Dortmund. Bvb.
Seamus
What's he saying?
Pat McAfee
Bvb this is one of your favorite teams?
Paddy Maroon
Well, because Liverpool fan, my whole life during. During the pandemic when everything was shut down. There's some Liverpool fans here. The Bundesliga was the only league that was on at the time. So with the club connection with Liverpool and Dortmund and the both teams embracing. You'll never walk alone, it was an easy pick for me. So I've had a great relationship with Dortmund over the last five, six years, so I'm proud to represent them here today.
Pat McAfee
Okay, so Dortmund actually came and gave us a bunch of food last year.
Josie Altidore
Yeah, they did.
Pat McAfee
I love the way their team operates.
Paddy Maroon
Great fella.
Pat McAfee
What?
Paddy Maroon
It looks like a big family business. You know, the dort people don't realize.
Pat McAfee
Oh, right.
Boston Connor
That's what they call the nasty goals. That was filthy.
Darius Butler
Is that an answer?
Boston Connor
Yeah. Golzalo, they. They cross one in head. There it is.
Pat McAfee
Go Zala.
Darius Butler
You're close.
Boston Connor
Cross in.
Pat McAfee
Header.
Boston Connor
Off the post it in.
Pat McAfee
Do we have that? I wonder if we'll be able to pull it up. It was in the background while we were talking there. That's wonderful news.
Paddy Maroon
Here's the replay.
Pat McAfee
Here it is.
Paddy Maroon
Beautiful. Bottom corner. No chance for the goalkeeper.
Pat McAfee
Did you play? Did you guys. Have you played yet, Dortmund?
Paddy Maroon
No. I practiced with the team yesterday. A good crack. I was in goal, had a laugh. But obviously I'm not allowed playing the tournament from WB's perspective, so they don't want me getting hurt. So I'm on the sideline, gene them up, you know, giving a bit of motivation.
Pat McAfee
Have you guys played yet?
Paddy Maroon
We played the game this morning. Yeah?
Pat McAfee
How'd it go? How'd it go?
Paddy Maroon
I didn't go too good.
Josie Altidore
Oh, no.
Pat McAfee
Who'd you play? Who'd you play?
Paddy Maroon
What was the name of that team again?
Seamus
They were good.
Paddy Maroon
Freedom United. Yeah. Well, it's final score, three, two.
Pat McAfee
Oh, okay. Not bad. That's a good battle.
Paddy Maroon
First half we weren't great, but we settled down in the second was one halftime to them and we came back but with another game here at 6:45. So, you know, I feel like the. The wheels are starting to turn now to be all right. Feel they're going to do okay.
Pat McAfee
You have a lot of confidence in your team.
Paddy Maroon
I do. They're a great bunch of lads, honestly. Great bunch of lads. They're representing the. The crest, 1909, that. That team was established. So there's. There's a lot of responsibility on their shoulders, but I think they're going to roll it out.
Pat McAfee
Okay, well, I don't think that's the case.
Paddy Maroon
What's your team again?
Pat McAfee
That's who we are.
Ty Schmidt
Better get familiar.
Paddy Maroon
Do you have any or apart from you guys, is there anyone else supporting that team or.
Pat McAfee
What are you talking about? Concave. Yeah, we got the concave for crazies. For merch out here. Yeah. We got people saying, look, we got a concave. A scarf up there. What's that? Huh?
Paddy Maroon
Boom.
Pat McAfee
I did that.
Paddy Maroon
Don't worry about that. They're all plants. All of them are plants. You paid them all, Patty.
Pat McAfee
I know you have to be clear. Zach, the kid who had the first goal for us, his mom made this tank top.
Ty Schmidt
Sweet.
Pat McAfee
Tone Diggs got these from tst. They're the ice things.
Ty Schmidt
Yep.
Pat McAfee
And I don't have a single scarf in my possession, so. All contraire, we're moving merch over here at concave. You better hope for Dortmund's sake that we don't try to get into Bundesliga. Because if I want to bring a team over to Bundesliga, we're going to be all over the place. Guten Thug. Guten Thug Concave.
Paddy Maroon
German's great, by the way.
Pat McAfee
I have to say grazie.
Paddy Maroon
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
What is. Thank you. Yeah, Duncan and then Dorian.
Paddy Maroon
The what?
Pat McAfee
Exactly.
Boston Connor
Yeah. You don't even know.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, exactly. I'm speaking languages. You don't listen to me.
Paddy Maroon
I can barely speak English, so let's just leave it at that.
Pat McAfee
I agree with that. The accent is something. There's going to be a lot of people that are putting on the caption.
Paddy Maroon
So they can understand what you're saying, and rightly so. I'm not embarrassed by that.
Pat McAfee
How long you. I agree. It sounds awesome. How long have you been with the WWE?
Paddy Maroon
18 years now. A year and a half. Developmental. I'm coming up to my 16th year on June 30th.
Pat McAfee
Congratulations. Let's talk about it. Obviously, a lot of turn turnover. A lot of change in those 18 years in WWE. Obviously. The Internet was ablaze this week whenever we all found out that our Truth contract was expiring soon and then he was not going to be with us. Falling forward from his own announcement. Also, Carlito. Carlito came out and I didn't think I saw that till a couple days later. I love Carlito. He's a bad apple. Yeah, Carlito's a bad apple. But R. Truth and Carlito have been with the WWE for so damn long, Been pillars of the wwe, have been so entertaining, have been beloved by the WWE Universe for so long. Obviously, there was a loud reaction to that in a negative way. 18 years. You've been there. There's been a lot of turnover. And I think that's something that we come from the NFL world, hey, we'll have a friend that we're on the Colts with and we're eating lunch with him. This guy's a professional football player. He's made millions of dollars. He's on the Indianapolis Colts. I'm having lunch with him. He goes to a meeting. I go to a meeting. I never see the guy again. He got cut. He got in. In our world, like, people move on. You don't have a job forever. It's like you do get cut. You have to learn, just kind of do. In the wwe, it's kind of similar, but I think people fall in love with the Superstars so much. It's harder to move on from people. What are your thoughts in perspective on the business as a whole? And do you know when it's time? Like, do you think guys know when it's time? Do you think it's always, like, what are your thoughts on it all?
Paddy Maroon
Sometimes people don't know. Look, you know, from a perspective, what we do, entertainment, like, it's about entertaining the fans and people, like, I'm sure in NFL, you know, fans to see that the player like, interviews and everything, and they see what he does in the field. But for our perspective, what we do, the fans get to know who that person is and they get to fall in love with the character and the personality. Like, for Truth, example, like, he's one of the most beloved because he's one of the most entertaining. I had my first dark match against him when I came up in 07, I think. 08. I joined in 07. 08. I came up with the road for dark and Orchard had just come back. After he was with the company, he went to tna. He came back again. So we had a dark match together on the road. And like, from then, we bonded, you know, like, it's that fellow walking in the dressing room and it's just laugh. He's got a contagious laugh that would just, like, light up the. The room, but you don't. There's no way of knowing, man. You just got to go out there and do what you can. And sometimes you can't tell when that time is.
Pat McAfee
A lot of guys come back, though. Like, that's. That's the wrestling business. Yeah. Like, so even more so now with how many opportunities there are elsewhere. And it feels like it's only growing. I mean, let alone like AAA getting bought up by WWE and TKO that partnership, what they're gonna do, the amount of money probably gonna be invested in there. TNA seemingly all the way back, obviously. AEW still rolling. They broke a record of some sort. There's so many opportunities, but there's always a road back to wwe.
Paddy Maroon
It's not the end. It's not the end. So many people, so many guys and girls have left and come back. It's not the end. Like, it's a bit of. Sometimes it's a bit of a break and there's no way. Truth's not going to come back. And at some stage, I'm sure you'll see him again.
Pat McAfee
Like, definitely a Hall of Famer.
Paddy Maroon
He's definitely a pillar. Yeah. Same with Caro. Caro was gone for a while. He came back, you know, and, and it's not the end. If you truly want to find your way back, you'll find your way back. It's not. Not the end for, for anybody.
Pat McAfee
So many talented people at the wwe.
Paddy Maroon
Yeah, it's crazy. And so many young talent coming up as well. I just did a workout with Obafemi from nxt. NXT World Heavyweight Champion. I was down in the performance center, so it just dropped today on Celtic Warrior Workouts. Want to check it out?
Pat McAfee
But million subscribers.
Darius Butler
Seamus, big time.
Paddy Maroon
But he was behind the next shoulder pressing, standing shoulder pressing, nearly 300 pounds. And he was using his traps. As you know when you do squats, you put that kind of pad on the bar.
Darius Butler
He was using his traps.
Paddy Maroon
Unbelievable, man.
Pat McAfee
You put the pad on the bar when you squat.
Paddy Maroon
I don't, but I'm just saying some people would.
Pat McAfee
But I'm just saying that's the right answer.
Boston Connor
Like that some people don't like.
Pat McAfee
AJ has a question for you. Seamus. Seamus, now you Say what?
Seamus
Almost 18 and a half years of.
Paddy Maroon
Ever with the WWE coming up in 18 years.
Seamus
Ever go back and watch some of your. Your old stuff from when you first got in and say like, wow, I've really come a long way.
Paddy Maroon
I try not to watch my old stuff.
Seamus
I'm sure you were awesome back then though. I'm sure we wouldn't. I'm sure you were awesome back then. But like, how much. What is it like not going into the ring compared to what it was like when you were younger?
Paddy Maroon
I feel when I first started in wwe, I was just so nervous and just so self conscious of myself and just like I wasn't really in the moment. I wasn't really enjoying it. I just wanted to make sure I got through it without messing up without making any mistakes. And now at the point where I just love going out there, I just feel a crowd. You know, he's there in commentary, banging it out. You can hear him all over the bleeding place.
Pat McAfee
So you guys can't hear me.
Paddy Maroon
I always hear. Yeah, I can hear you over 20, 000 people in that crowd, Patty.
Pat McAfee
Okay, I didn't know that. I didn't remember that. Yeah, I'm gonna lock that in. Come on, it's fight night, fella. All right, you'll hear me, you'll hear me. I'll make sure.
Boston Connor
But.
Paddy Maroon
But, you know, I just enjoy, you know, feel the crowd in the moment. I'm more in the moment than I ever been, and that's what it's about. And letting the crowd in. And I feel that's why I'm having the best matches after in my entire career. That's why I love going out there. I love putting on banger after banger.
Pat McAfee
After banger after banger after banger after, after, after. Did you drive a bus? Did you drive a bus? No, I thought it was.
Paddy Maroon
Dude, no, I took an Uber like everybody else.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, it was not the banger bus.
Darius Butler
It's a nice.
Paddy Maroon
No, remember. Remember. Remember the Banger Brothers? The thing back in the day, Me and Drew?
Darius Butler
That other guy?
Pat McAfee
Yeah, yeah.
Paddy Maroon
That got shut down real fast, by the way.
Darius Butler
Yeah, that's not the one I remember.
Pat McAfee
What are you talking about?
Darius Butler
What, the different you are a. Yeah.
Boston Connor
The other team, aren't you?
Pat McAfee
No, no, no.
Darius Butler
I'm thinking about a different bang. But anyway, speaking about. Speaking about being in the moment, you've been around the world, obviously, been a superstar for a long time. How's Carrie been treating you so far? Do you have any, I guess, suggestions for us for dinner tonight? You've been in.
Paddy Maroon
We ended up in Bahama Breeze last night.
Pat McAfee
Okay.
Darius Butler
We saw that on the way out.
Paddy Maroon
Yeah, yeah. Instead of boats going by the hotel, it was just cars and trucks and stuff. But my wife was really impressed with it.
Boston Connor
We can tell you where not to go.
Pat McAfee
There's a lot of restaurants out here.
Paddy Maroon
There is. I mean, we only got in yesterday. Late yesterday. Staying at the same place. But I. You know, like, Carolina's great, man. I just. I love this place. It feels very close to being in Ireland. So many trees, so many greenery. Everyone's super friendly. Except for this heat, dude.
Pat McAfee
This heat, killing me. Ty has a question for you. Seamus.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, Seamus, I am curious. You're obviously absolutely jacked. Pat mentioned, you know, the. The Celtic warrior workouts. Are up over a million subs right now. How does your body feel and how much different is it when you get in the ring now than Maybe it was 16 years ago when you were, you know, spring chicken?
Paddy Maroon
I don't think it was ever a spring chicken time, but. But no, I actually feel right now I think I'm in the best shape I've ever been in. I'm. I'm using this. My wife got me, Isabella got me on this app called Ladder App I've been using. And I have this guy called Corey Perkins, awesome trainer. And I feel now like I'm lifting six days a week. I'm eating really well. Kind of carnivore animal diet, except for this, obviously, but you're allowed on special days like this. But I feel now like I've just so set my way to train and when I first started, I wasn't as self conscious or I wasn't as strict regimented on what I was doing. But now I feel like I'm. I'm definitely dialed in and I'm really liking it.
Pat McAfee
You said ladder app?
Paddy Maroon
Yeah, ladder off, dude.
Pat McAfee
There's Corey Perkins.
Paddy Maroon
Corey Perkins, awesome trainer, by the way. I want to give you.
Pat McAfee
So he's on your app? He's on your app?
Paddy Maroon
Yeah, he is. Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Hold on, hold on. I need to learn more.
Paddy Maroon
Yeah, sure.
Pat McAfee
So the ladder app.
Paddy Maroon
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
You just take your phone downstairs into the gym, open it up, and Cory's leading you through a workout.
Paddy Maroon
Yeah. You pick whoever the trainer you kind of most like resonate with. You pick the trainer. And Cory's the one peloton you remember when I came back.
Pat McAfee
Yes, Peloton for lifting.
Paddy Maroon
It's basically that. Yeah. Every and every day is a new set. Like you can do six days, minimum of three days. It's awesome, but it's changed my life. Really. You saw those pictures of me, burger after burger. You remember that story.
Pat McAfee
They were calling you fat, Seamus.
Paddy Maroon
They were calling me fat. And rightly so. You know, I was listening, telling you there was. There was creases going on where there shouldn't have been creases. You know what I'm saying? There's this, but it's. I'm dialed in now and it's if you want to go. By the way, when are you going to get on Celtic warrior workouts? We should all do one together, huh?
Ty Schmidt
I'm a fat slot, dude.
Boston Connor
I can't do anything. No, thanks.
Paddy Maroon
Connor, you're just so negative all the time lately. What's wrong with you?
Boston Connor
Just get pat On.
Paddy Maroon
I came to earlier on to talk to you on your laptop.
Boston Connor
Not now, Seamus.
Paddy Maroon
I'm busy. Big league, me, when I came on.
Pat McAfee
Earlier.
Paddy Maroon
Try to give him a beard. He's complaining. Got spill.
Pat McAfee
I'm not finished the beard.
Paddy Maroon
Wearing police shorts, is it? Come on.
Pat McAfee
Where did you get them anyway?
Paddy Maroon
What. What are you wearing now?
Pat McAfee
North Carolina.
Paddy Maroon
We're in Carolina.
Boston Connor
You're the one.
Paddy Maroon
You're the Liverpool fam.
Boston Connor
Wearing black and gold.
Paddy Maroon
Yeah, but you. You never walk alone, man.
Pat McAfee
You know, the yellow wall.
Boston Connor
Bill Belichick, you know, his name's on my bicep. What do you want?
Pat McAfee
Yeah, it's right there. What do you want me to do?
Boston Connor
Gotta respect the team.
Paddy Maroon
James from Boston, right?
Boston Connor
Yeah, but I don't really have a.
Pat McAfee
College team, you know, Maybe Boston College.
Paddy Maroon
No, no. Trainers with Irish college for you.
Boston Connor
Notre Dame's up there. You could always.
Pat McAfee
Georgia Tech's your school.
Paddy Maroon
We're having a go with me.
Boston Connor
Yeah, well, I mean, you live and die with Liverpool, but you also live and die with the WWE, as we all do. They moved WrestleMania back to Vegas. Are you pumped about that or you kind of wish you were going back to New Orleans? We were in New Orleans for the super bowl where they were saying it was going to be great city. Don't know if it's fully equipped to have what Vegas had just because of the spectacle that WrestleMania is. What WrestleMania.
Ty Schmidt
New Orleans is incredible.
Pat McAfee
That's.
Paddy Maroon
That's.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, we were down there.
Boston Connor
You guys did one. We went to one day.
Pat McAfee
That was Bourbon Street.
Ty Schmidt
That was one of, like, the top three, five weekends of my life at WrestleMania.
Paddy Maroon
What, 32. Was it 33 or something? Was it? I don't even remember.
Ty Schmidt
I don't remember now. I don't care. I guess at this point, yeah, it.
Pat McAfee
Probably was 2018, I think.
Paddy Maroon
Okay. Okay.
Ty Schmidt
It was incredible. You'll never see Bourbon street like that any other time of the year.
Paddy Maroon
That's an insane, insane place.
Pat McAfee
You weren't able to be there, Seamus, because you were famous at that time in wwe. We were able to. I was able to just walk around down there. It was incredible. Every bar was playing entrance music and other people's music, theme music. And then there was matches happening in the middle of Bourbon Street. Somebody was dressed up like, let's say, Hulkster brother.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
And then Macho, obvious, somebody dressed up as Macho shows up. And then Obviously, because it's WrestleMania New Orleans, somebody's dressed like a ref. They just meet in the middle ground. Makes a ring, crowd makes a ring. You're going off the ropes in the middle of this thing. One, two, three. And then bar hits Macho Man's music. I mean, in the middle of.
Paddy Maroon
Hogan, put Macho over.
Pat McAfee
Yes.
Paddy Maroon
That's, that's, that's.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, yeah. Come on. We don't know that's crazy, but yeah, it was awesome.
Paddy Maroon
I fully agree with it.
Darius Butler
But you know, love Macho.
Pat McAfee
It was awesome. Are you excited to get back to Vegas though? It felt like Vegas was the perfect.
Boston Connor
Vegas was incredible.
Paddy Maroon
Vegas is great. You know, look, I'll come out. I won't come out during the daytime obviously for a lot of reasons, but it obviously is a huge hit there this year. That moving. It's out of my. It's above my pay grade. But you know, either way it was a success. So they're obviously going to go back again because it was such a huge hit.
Pat McAfee
Do you. Do you operate like a vampire?
Paddy Maroon
Pretty much, yeah. I'm literally on my second can of sunscreen right now.
Pat McAfee
I could see it radiating from your eyes.
Paddy Maroon
Basically about 20 minutes, five minutes before I came on the show. I couldn't see anything. I was just like. With the beer, you know, the beer was like. You were like. You were in Dublin, remember? It's like you're like that the whole time. People, people grabbing Pat's hand, just walking them around. Where are we going?
Darius Butler
Great show.
Paddy Maroon
You gonna come over this year?
Darius Butler
No, I'll come. I'm coming this year.
Paddy Maroon
Oh, you missed a great. Did he miss a great time?
Boston Connor
One of the greatest cracks of my life.
Pat McAfee
That one was awesome.
Paddy Maroon
And you've had some great cracks.
Boston Connor
We've had some great cracks.
Pat McAfee
Hey, Seamus has been on the record as saying that that was a good night though. You had a good time too. It wasn't just us having a great time.
Paddy Maroon
Yeah, I was, I was just warming up and the night was over. Yeah, well, your buddy had it.
Boston Connor
I mean, some of the best fashion I've ever.
Ty Schmidt
One of the coolest outfits of all time.
Boston Connor
Yeah, I actually looked into some stuff post that night because of how cool your buddy.
Pat McAfee
Speaking of outfits, you gifted AJ something. He has thrown it in the trash.
Seamus
I was actually. I didn't know you were actually coaching the door. Russia, whatever you're talking about earlier.
Pat McAfee
I'm sorry to everyone over there.
Paddy Maroon
All you gotta say is pvb.
Pat McAfee
There you go. Bbb.
Seamus
But I would have worn a full jeans vest dress, but it was 150 degrees down here.
Paddy Maroon
Have you. Have you worn that once?
Pat McAfee
No.
Seamus
Cuz I'm waiting For a big special like maybe I. Oh no, it's. I know exactly where it's hang. I'll send a picture to you.
Paddy Maroon
It's in Goodwill right now. It's on the rocking Goodwill basically in.
Seamus
A case waiting for a big moment.
Pat McAfee
To show Jamus you are the only one to pick the right answer.
Seamus
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
On college game day.
Paddy Maroon
That's right.
Pat McAfee
I forget what the pick was. Notre Dame and Notre Dame in the national championship. Yeah.
Paddy Maroon
It was so close. I mean obviously got to the national championships but unlucky still had it. Not exactly unlucky but yeah, unlucky. I'm gonna go with unlucky. AJ That's.
Boston Connor
That's only guy that had a team in the champion.
Pat McAfee
I don't know if anybody was beating any Ohio State team.
Seamus
Brother, that was great game.
Pat McAfee
I don't know if it was unlucky. I think it was just.
Paddy Maroon
They're a machine. Inevitable. They're a machine Jungle. They're a machine. But are we going back this year again?
Ty Schmidt
Yeah. Game stinks this year.
Paddy Maroon
What is it?
Ty Schmidt
Kansas State? Iowa State?
Pat McAfee
I think it's a football game or NFL game.
Paddy Maroon
We're going NFL game. Yeah, it's. Is it Green Bay against Minnesota? Is that it? Minnesota.
Ty Schmidt
Pittsburgh.
Paddy Maroon
Pittsburgh.
Darius Butler
All right.
Paddy Maroon
I'm actually. I'm actually.
Pat McAfee
What's wrong in Germany? Fox would give me a piece of information. I'm sorry. In Ireland. I mean he said there's a smackdown in Ireland the night before the college football game. Part of the Big 12 deal I believe league. Oh cuz it's Iowa State. I think playing I would say Case State. I don't know if we're going.
Paddy Maroon
It's not big enough.
Pat McAfee
I don't know if we're going the. I don't have no idea. I'm not. A lot of decisions have to be made there.
Paddy Maroon
You're not going to take the brunt of that way or not at all.
Pat McAfee
Yep. I am not the one. We will move that along but if we're definitely end up at the NFL game over there for sure.
Paddy Maroon
I will say though as I spoke to the Titans as well. They're the. I know there's a lot of teams have claimed UK and Ireland as. As their territory overseas. But Titans are the only one have claimed Ireland. I believe so. No, no, no. Steelers are both. They're both in and out, man. One foot in, one foot out, one foot in Ireland.
Pat McAfee
Steelers had representation in Ireland for like four or five years or whatever.
Paddy Maroon
Do they Ambassador.
Boston Connor
The Rooneys.
Pat McAfee
He's the ambassador to Ireland. This guy was trying to make. What do you. What are you even talking about?
Paddy Maroon
I talk about the Titans.
Pat McAfee
Rudy was at the game day in Dublin.
Paddy Maroon
Okay.
Pat McAfee
I didn't see anybody from the Titans. Oh, no, no, no.
Boston Connor
The Titans don't claim they're craftsmen for straws. Don't believe anything the Tennessee Titans say. What the hell?
Pat McAfee
They probably Patriots.
Paddy Maroon
Patriots.
Boston Connor
The Patriots claim Germany, technically, but you go back to the history. We've had German players.
Paddy Maroon
Yeah, what German players have you had?
Boston Connor
Sebastian Volmer, one of the greatest of all time.
Paddy Maroon
Was the American chairman. Was he German? Straight out of German.
Pat McAfee
Was he German? German? Some people aren't European enough over here. Geez.
Boston Connor
He's straight off the Uboat, brother.
Pat McAfee
He's not.
Boston Connor
He's not some fake German.
Josie Altidore
He.
Darius Butler
He.
Boston Connor
He came over from Germany similar to.
Pat McAfee
I don't know if he came from World War.
Paddy Maroon
I don't know. Some of the players on the Patriots these days look like they were in World War I. They moved so slow.
Boston Connor
That's why Frable came in.
Pat McAfee
Seamus, brother, we appreciate you. Thank you for stopping by.
Paddy Maroon
We appreciate you, mankind. I appreciate it.
Pat McAfee
Anything we didn't hit that we need to talk about?
Paddy Maroon
No, it's great, man.
Pat McAfee
Celtic warrior workouts.
Paddy Maroon
Got the channel over, got BVB over, got wbe. Oh, it's great. Everything's good.
Pat McAfee
You're over. Ladies and gentlemen, are you gonna finish your beer?
Paddy Maroon
There's more. There's two more there. Who wants the next one finish?
Boston Connor
What do I look like?
Seamus
It's good.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah. Why don't you swing that other one down?
Boston Connor
I mean, are we having a crack?
Pat McAfee
No, I think we're having a crack now.
Ty Schmidt
We're having a bit of a crack right now.
Paddy Maroon
There you go, bro.
Pat McAfee
Now's the croc.
Paddy Maroon
Cheers.
Pat McAfee
Lots cheers to the people sitting on the hill. Hot as hell. Seamus.
Boston Connor
What would you say, Grandma?
Pat McAfee
What?
Paddy Maroon
Goramila Mahogat. You should know that. You're from Boston.
Ty Schmidt
You got marbles in your mouth.
Darius Butler
What was that?
Boston Connor
No, I know what it is. I'm telling everybody else.
Paddy Maroon
Thank you very much. In Irish and Gaelic.
Pat McAfee
Say it again. Say it again.
Paddy Maroon
Our native language.
Pat McAfee
Say it again. Who?
Boston Connor
Me and Jamie said at the same time. We screwed it up.
Pat McAfee
Now you just stepped over me trying to get a piece of information. I was trying to learn what the actual name was. Gorme.
Boston Connor
Yeah. Gourmet.
Pat McAfee
No, it's not an obvious. It's an Irish thing and it's not a Serbian Bosnian.
Boston Connor
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
No, no, not. Let's score this game. Do we know what's going on three, one.
Boston Connor
Drip out fc.
Pat McAfee
That's Johnny Damon's boys.
Boston Connor
And he's in net right now.
Pat McAfee
Ladies and gentlemen, it is an absolute honor to be joined by a man who is coaching Dortmuth Bournemouth. That's on me.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, it's on the mind.
Pat McAfee
Bournemouth. They are currently completely defeated after a loss to Conceifa this morning. But he is not a man who's defeated. No, no, no. He made his Pro debut in 2006 as a 16 year old. One of the longest tenured United States of America soccer players of all time and an astute businessman. I believe he's a minority owner of the Buffalo Bills.
Boston Connor
Wow.
Pat McAfee
Ladies and gentlemen, Josie Alpha, Georgia. Jose.
Ty Schmidt
How's it going, man?
Pat McAfee
How are you?
Seamus
How you doing? Good to see you, buddy.
Boston Connor
The soccer dad, man.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Boston Connor
Love it. Every time you got a full one. Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Do you realize we got the soccer one. I got soccer. Sorry about it. Do you realize soccer players normally only do this part?
Seamus
It's kind of like golfers.
Boston Connor
It's not a full death.
Darius Butler
True.
Seamus
Golfers do the same.
Pat McAfee
Same thing.
Boston Connor
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Trying to adjust to the community.
Boston Connor
The community.
Pat McAfee
We're trying. We're trying to culture. We're trying to be some culture vultures around here and make sure we get the proper depths. It's just one clean ha. And then you let go.
Seamus
Release.
Boston Connor
Yeah.
Seamus
Which kind of stinks, but definitely it's like Stuart Sink. Like a golfer, to be clear though.
Pat McAfee
Clearly. Yeah.
Boston Connor
Apparently. Debut. You also got a full day.
Darius Butler
You know.
I
I wasn't paying attention. It's been a fun morning.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. They look like soccer players over there, which is why you gave them soccer. Let's talk about this morning. You thought your team was going to be good or no?
I
What do you mean? Our team is good. I didn't think.
Pat McAfee
I know, I know.
I
It's our first time out here and, you know, it'll take us some getting used to, but, you know, big shout out to Bill Foley, to Michael B. Jordan, all of Bournemouth, for entering a team and putting the effort they put in. This is our record. This is a record year for Bournemouth right now. Them all right. Most points ever in a season. The team here that's playing is, you know, the 2015 team that got Bournemouth promoted to the Premier League. So it's a special event and, you know, I. I know they're happy to be out here.
Pat McAfee
Okay. I'm pumped to hear all that information. The 2015 teams playing 2000, a lot of. Did you guys do any practice beforehand? They did. They did.
I
You Know, but look, they're not. They're not full time players anymore. But they wanted to come out here, represent the brand, represent themselves. And I thought they did a great job.
Pat McAfee
I thought so too, by the way.
I
It's not easy, you know. You know that.
Pat McAfee
So our guys. Our guys have obviously played in this tournament before. Our guys had three practice games on Monday. Like, I think we learned what TST is last year. We came in cold last year and the reggae rovers beat the hell out of us. Game one. We had no idea what we were doing. I felt like watching your team, they were figuring out the game exactly as the game was going on.
I
Exactly. And that's a lot of what this is.
Pat McAfee
Right?
I
You know that well. So I'm proud of how we performed the first game. We got another big one later later tonight, and, you know, I know the guys will be up for it.
Pat McAfee
How do you feel about maybe you playing? How can you don't play anymore?
I
I wish, you know, I. I actually injured myself. I was with my family on a Disney cruise, man.
Josie Altidore
Oh, hell yeah.
Pat McAfee
Were you gonna play in this?
I
I was thinking about it.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
I
Yeah, I would love to. I would have. I would have put you to the sword out there.
Pat McAfee
Well, I would not have got on the field. I would not have got on the field. You were on the field.
I
What happened?
Pat McAfee
Well, last year I was. I ripped my hip flexor. I felt like. I get it. That's good. Last.
I
You know why that happened?
Pat McAfee
Why?
I
Because you weren't training at soju ability.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. This is. Let's talk about you being a business person.
I
And this is for you, by the way.
Pat McAfee
Okay.
I
This is. I want to give you this. I got two gifts for you. This is born myths.
Pat McAfee
Can't wear that.
I
Official u. S. Jersey. Tour shirt.
Pat McAfee
Nice. Michael b. Inspired.
I
So take a look at that smokestack. You know what I mean?
Pat McAfee
We got this for you.
I
Last name on the back. We got to take care of our people, man. You know what I'm saying?
Pat McAfee
We got that.
I
And then I have this for you. This is where you should have trained. That's why you got injured. You need to be at sogility. It is down the road from you. There's no excuse.
Pat McAfee
We will host you.
I
We'd love to have you. So this is for you too. You know, come down, train with us and we'll fix that hip flexor.
Pat McAfee
Let's talk about that. You own fragility. Yes. Okay. I assume you own a part of bournemouth. I assume there's other things. And then you're also minority owner. The Buffalo Bill, brand new. I think there's some other companies that you're like, potential investor in. When did you decide that you're going to be an investor? And is this all from soccer money? Legit? We're trying to figure it out.
Boston Connor
Is he pocket watching?
I
That's crazy. This guy's crushing it. Come on, man.
Pat McAfee
I know, but the Buffalo Bills, that is a. That. That is an unbelievable. When we saw your name get dropped in, I'm like, Josie Altador is an owner of an NFL team because you're young, you know, you're young, and it's like, how. That's unbelievable. And then you start looking into all the other that you're invested in. It's like. Like you're a good businessman. Josie, how long has it been like that? And what has always been the plan?
I
No, first of all, I appreciate that. And for me, it started with my dad. So my dad, he actually worked at FedEx 30 years. But, you know, he always instilled in me the idea of, you know, owning something. Right. And, you know, we started in real estate in Boca, so started with a small real estate company there that my dad started and showed me the business from a young age. And, you know, ever since that, he's instilled to me the value of that. And. And, you know, I kind of took it and ran with it, and it's been one of my biggest passions.
Pat McAfee
I love watching athletes dominate in the business world because the suits, they think we're dumb. You know that, Josie.
I
I don't think so.
Pat McAfee
No, they do. You need to realize that they do. You need to realize that they do. We've heard them on the record and off the record, say things about athletes and stuff. So remember that whenever you're in there working. I respect it. I appreciate you doing that.
I
The only thing I'll say is, is, like, you know, now not playing, you have to understand what it's like for them. Right. They put 25, 30 years into their field, went to school. So I think, you know, as athletes, we got to be a little bit humble when we're transitioning. You know, take that athlete hat off and kind of relearn how to. How to make an effect on society. And that's part of business, so.
Pat McAfee
But keep the athlete work ethic. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. That'll kind of.
I
That's synonymous to me in the business world, you know, that, that discipline. It's important.
Pat McAfee
Agreed. Okay, let's talk about some disc discipline.
I
Let's do it.
Pat McAfee
Is our US Men's national team ever going to win. This is unbelievable. Look. USA hat. USA hat. USA hat. I watch you on Team usa. Thank you for your service to the United States of America. I appreciate it. It was always cool to watch you out there. You played 110 caps for Team USA is what Wikipedia said. Felt like I saw you a thousand times every time I watched you were playing. So I respect the out of that. But with this team, obviously, we got new coach. Coach Punch.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, Pete Punch.
Boston Connor
And every time he Punch leaves his club, that club goes on to win great things.
Pat McAfee
A lot of people say he maybe built that club to have success, but you're saying when he leaves, they win three different teams. Nonetheless, I feel like we've had a lot of good players.
Paddy Maroon
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
I feel like we have done our job of hyping up United States of America.
Ty Schmidt
Without a doubt.
Pat McAfee
We firmly believe we're winning the World cup whenever we play in it. We firmly believe we're winning the Concave whenever we're playing in the Concave Gold Cup. The caribou and the carabao. All these. If America was playing in tst, I'd be pulling for them again. I love concave. Okay. Even though I love concave. And maybe some of the concaver boys need to be on Team USA and maybe everything will kind of change.
Boston Connor
Backport.
Pat McAfee
But why? Why do you think Team USA is where it is? Because I grew up playing soccer. I remember there was like a project 2012 or 2012, there's a project 40.
I
Project 40.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. There's all these things. So I. I grew up hearing about all these things.
I
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
And the future of us Soccer is going to be great. Yeah. But we've never really got to. Why do you think that is the case? And do you think we're closer than ever or what do you think?
I
You know, I think we have to approach it in a sensible way. Look, I think as the United States, it's natural we want to win. We want to be the best at everything. But I think we have to understand our league domestically is 30 years old. Right. Like you look at the age of the Premier League, the NFL. So soccer in this country is a little bit behind the eight ball. But what we're seeing at events like this, right. Young kids, it's starting to really resonate. And I think we're starting to improve across the board. And with things like sociality, with different things popping up where we're trying to get kids involved and keep them in the game, I think that side is important. And so I get the frustration, but it's a work in progress, and I believe in those boys. I know them all well, and I know they're doing what they need to do to be ready for next year.
Pat McAfee
How about punch? You believe in Punch?
Darius Butler
Yes, they are.
I
And I believe in Pochettino. Look, you know, I credit the federation. They took, you know, kind of, you know, tried something different right before the World Cup. They're really putting all their chips on the table, and I think you have to commend that. And I think Pochettino needs our support. We got to get behind him. And again, it's going to be a celebration, man. The World cup of the United States hopefully has effects for years to come.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I hope we win it.
Ty Schmidt
Are we going to at least make it out of pool play?
I
I mean, historically, we've done pretty well. I mean, obviously, 18 wasn't great, but, like, looking at other, the other World Cups, 2014, 18 or not 18. Sorry, 22. The guys had a good showing in Qatar, so I anticipate a lot of the same. Even more, the support will be important from all of you. You know, making sure you get out there and watch and support the team and, you know, it'll be cool to celebrate soccer first.
Boston Connor
Yeah, yeah, exactly. You want to show up for nothing? I mean, do that again.
Ty Schmidt
Josie, we're getting beat by Puerto Rico by three goals.
I
I don't think that's ever happened, though.
Pat McAfee
I, I, that's never happened.
Ty Schmidt
Watching it.
Pat McAfee
Puerto Rico, I think it was Guam, actually.
I
That didn't happen.
Ty Schmidt
10 times worse.
Boston Connor
I hear about Geo Reyna. Why is it Gio Raina played? He's one of the best players.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. There's a lot of drama always around the U.S. national team. It seems like that's been that way forever, but I think that's soccer as a whole. Which turns like, if you get out here, you got some guys rolling around out here. Even at tst, there's always the drama.
I
A lot of concave players were.
Pat McAfee
Oh, come on. What? Sorry. You're born with players.
I
I'm just saying, you got, you got the stage set up. You know, they really, I don't know, it was tough.
Pat McAfee
The Bournemouth players. The Bournemouth players. You're starting to hack us a little bit in the second half.
I
Yeah, they were starting to take it a little bit more serious.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, but I don't, I don't think you guys knew what you signed up for with our team, though. Our team would have fought every one of your guys, no questions asked. I'm telling you, they would have got banned from this tournament. That's our type of guys.
I
No, trust me. I know Breck, and I know a lot of your guys well, but.
Pat McAfee
Oh, you said, you know, Brett. Brett certainly would elbow somebody in the face for sure. Which is awesome. The Arena League boys are, though. Yeah.
I
But I think it was good. I think. Think, you know, our guys really enjoyed it. You know, it's a new experience for them. And I thought after the game, you saw even the concave of guys coming over giving tips and tricks. So that's what it's all about, too, you know.
Pat McAfee
So the Arena League guys have such an advantage, big time. This is like their thing.
I
Exactly.
Pat McAfee
Is this your first one?
I
This is my first time physically being here.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
I
Man, this is. This is crazy. It's beautiful to see all the people coming out, just hanging out. I love the setup. It's really cool.
Pat McAfee
I'm excited for you to, like, learn about the. I think you'll be much more. I think you'll be. Not that you're more invested or could be more invested this year. I'm saying whenever you think about this and take this in for the next year, I'm excited to see what you think about it.
I
Yes.
Pat McAfee
Because the Arena League boys. Yeah, they are. This whole place. Yes. Every. Every single game winner for previous tournaments. Every big play arena dudes. These arena dudes run it. And then if you can get the outdoor bigfield guys in there with them, it's like, that's what we learned from concave paper.
Boston Connor
Yeah. Last year your team was built for outdoor soccer, but this year it's built for this style.
Pat McAfee
Arena League.
Boston Connor
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
This is Arena League. Yeah. It's. That's awesome. It's a beautiful sport.
I
No, it's great. And, you know, it's funny you say that like that's what we need, more events like this highlighting different players at different levels of the game, you know, so Kingsley going on.
Pat McAfee
Is that what it's called? Kings League.
I
Yeah, there's. Yeah, that's another small side league.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, yeah, there's a bunch of these, like, small side. I think it's big time streaming over in Europe right now. I think it's soccer. Josie, you've given your life to soccer, and we appreciate the hell out of you. Appreciate you for. Thank you, Josie. We'll get the sociality.

Pat McAfee
You can Venmo this or you can Venmo the Venmo MasterCard is issued by the Bancorp bank and a pursuant to license. My Mastercard International Incorporated Card may be used everywhere. MasterCard is accepted. Venmo purchase restrictions apply. It's happening in beautiful fashion. There's a soccer tournament happening here in Cary, North Carolina. If you've never been to Cary, North Carolina, I'm not sure what exactly you would come for other than a tournament of some sort for your kids. Whenever you get here, just know that this place is beautiful. The most pristine grass that I've ever seen in any complex in the history. It's set up beautifully. They're hospitable as hell here and the only thing you got to worry about is the fact that it is 250 degrees down here. We haven't had a chance to have the cute as Marty Smith the barbecue. We will certainly dive into that. Went to a steakhouse last night. It was the worst service we've ever had in our entire life. But we won't hold that again against the local people. No, we will hold that against the person that confirmed our reservation that didn't tell the rest of the restaurant that we were coming and the rest of the restaurant thought they were done working for the night and then they were told no, no, no. Actually, most work you've had all day is coming right down the pipe. So we will not judge anybody around here for the horrendous experience.
Boston Connor
Two thumbs down.
Pat McAfee
I wish I had two more hands so I could give that place four thumbs. Ah, I wish. But with that being said, beautiful town. Cannot wait to explore a little bit more Today. And the concave for soccer club is Currently undefeated in TST3. One win this morning over Bournemouth, which was led by. Thank you. That's. That's spattering. Applause that's spattering. Applause. Oh, oh, oh.
Boston Connor
Concave.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, it's a catchy tune. We got a great team. I'm not 100 sure if I'll be able to be here for the entirety of this tournament.
Josie Altidore
Sure.
Pat McAfee
That is still a conversation. Money in the banks. On Saturday night in Los Angeles. I've been invited to a place that I think is like a must go type. Can't turn down. Yeah, I think it's a must go situation. So I'll figure that out. John Cena. You can't see me or my left shoulder for the brand over my right. And the boys are here. One half of the hammer done Cowboys. AP Tone is here. Tone. Tonight the NHL Stanley cup finals. Dropped the puck. What should we be looking for and what are you betting on?
AJ Hawk
So the oilers are currently minus 120 to win tonight. They've been minus 125 all week long. Fun fact, they are also minus 120, minus 125 to win the whole series. So same odds, game one as it is the entire series. You have the defending reigning Stanley cup champions and Florida Panthers going against Connor McDavid who is universally known as the most skilled, talented, probably best player in the NHL right now.
Pat McAfee
It's going to be maybe in history for sure.
Ty Schmidt
Could be, yeah.
Pat McAfee
Has to win a series.
AJ Hawk
Maybe most skilled.
Pat McAfee
Oh yeah, history. Maybe the most skilled player in the history of hockey.
AJ Hawk
But he's not better. Obviously not better than Ueno or Sid or Mario Stoner.
Pat McAfee
I agree. Has to win a cup, has to win multiple cups. But whenever they talk about just like.
Darius Butler
Skill, skills, just pure speed.
Boston Connor
Speed, Speed.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Boston Connor
Edge speed.
Pat McAfee
He's also not scared to be physical A little bit. Yeah. He is like he's the guy for the NHL. This is a home run that they got the best player in the world playing in the Stanley cup finals again taking on the Stanley cup champion Matthew Tkachuk led Florida Panthers. Matthew Chuck obviously wins over all of the United States of America during the four.
Ty Schmidt
Four nations nations.
Pat McAfee
Instead of the all Star games where he just fights all of Canada immediately after them booing our national anthem. That was a massive success. He's already the champ. They send out Marchand who is beloved or hated depending upon what city you are from. He goes down there. Big market feels like big marketing opportunities. It feels like with Connor McJesus on the big stage. Let's go to the toxic table at boss Connor and anti Schmidt con man. Obviously the Bruins used to be good at hockey. Used to understand what it was like to play at this time of year. Just like us Pittsburgh Penguins fans. It's a wonderful thing. But the seven series though, how does that play into this entire.
Boston Connor
I gotta go seven and you know, the Bees haven't been as terrible as the Penguins for a long time. This is the. My first.
Pat McAfee
That's not the question.
Boston Connor
Okay. Yeah, no, I just want to clarify. This is my. The Bruins first season kind of fading into irrelevance. But that's gonna be much quicker than the Penguins seven games.
Pat McAfee
Is there a question?
Boston Connor
I think it's pretty clear. This is going seven games both. The Panthers are so good. The way they play is incredible. The way the Oilers play. You mentioned McDavid, you know, dry Seidle, who's amazing. Hyman, Nugent, Hopkins. They have so many stuff all over Kane. Nick. Yeah, Nick Nurs plays basketball. But Darnell Nurse. You get it. They have so many dudes across the board and so do the Panthers. I think that's why this is even better than last year. You know, bigger names, more people on both teams. I think Seth Jones, six or seven guys from the Panthers didn't play last year.
Ty Schmidt
There.
Boston Connor
There's a similar amount as there are on the Oilers who are kind of new to this type of series. But I, I personally, I'm leaning Oilers. It feels like it's McDavid's year. Feels like the Panthers, as awesome as they are, may. Maybe it's not McDonald's to be a back to back situation, but maybe take off that hat.
Darius Butler
Maybe you should take off that hat with the American flag on it since you're picking the. Or.
Boston Connor
Oh, oh, no. This has nothing to do with. I mean, wait, is. Is your captain American or Finish.
Darius Butler
He's finished.
Boston Connor
You probably don't even know he's finish.
Darius Butler
He's finished.
Paddy Maroon
I mean.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Boston Connor
Yeah.
AJ Hawk
Thought he was from Jersey.
Boston Connor
Thought barking was Russian. No, no, no, no. His name isn't actually Ed Barini.
Pat McAfee
It's.
Boston Connor
It's Bar.
Ty Schmidt
What does that mean?
Boston Connor
He thought he was from Jersey. It's not. It's not like, you know, the T. Wolves called Mark Daniel. No, it's not. It's not something like.
Pat McAfee
That's not his name either. Ty. Ty is finished. His second. Be that baby Ty.
AJ Hawk
Conor actually said earlier today, he said, hey, we need to talk about the Thunder coach. You could actually. He likes actually go by Mark Dago. I love that.
Pat McAfee
I didn't say that. I didn't say. I think carry North Carolina. You can yell there from the mountain.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, you might.
Pat McAfee
You might be right if I had to guess.
Boston Connor
No, it's also not Mark Day.
AJ Hawk
We start venturing down from that Northeast. We settle in Myrtle be. We settle in all these Carolinas down to Florida.
Pat McAfee
I don't. I don't think so. I've been looking around. I don't think so.
Boston Connor
Wonderful, right? I mean it. It makes sense why Ruth Chris suck last. Oh, we weren't saying the name.
Pat McAfee
It makes sense.
Boston Connor
It makes sense why the restaurant sucked last night. Because there were. Because there weren't any Italians per se. But it. It is kind of a different type.
Darius Butler
He wasn't Italian.
Pat McAfee
No, no. Red Baker.
Boston Connor
No, no, he wasn't. He actually used to work for the hall of Fame. Now runs Ruth Chris on Tuesday nights. We'll see if it continues live.
Pat McAfee
Not with us at dinner. Last night. College football national champion, super bowl Winner, father of 10, A.J. hawk. A.J. you missed the doozy lot.
Seamus
Should we run it back tonight after the 6:30 game, you think?
Pat McAfee
I don't. I don't know if I will ever go to that place again.
Boston Connor
Bats and batteries and socks maybe.
Pat McAfee
No, we're not rioting. Yeah, we're not rioting. Little town, man. I love little town. With that being said, AJ your brother in law has won a Stanley cup before. You've been a part of the entire so. Oh, no.
Boston Connor
Drip FC 42 man letting them back in.
Ty Schmidt
Anytime you can squeeze one past Santucci, you know you're doing something right.
Darius Butler
Are we in target score time yet?
Boston Connor
Is that a knee on the table?
Pat McAfee
No, corner. Is that a bad knee? Is that the play we are in?
AJ Hawk
Target score?
Pat McAfee
Yes.
Boston Connor
Oh, nothing worse. These pints are pretty good, boys.
AJ Hawk
They are delicious.
Paddy Maroon
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Did you guys all drink a second one? Yeah.
AJ Hawk
It'd be a shame if we got any more trip.
Pat McAfee
FC is in control of the ball. Whoever gets to 5 goals will win this particular game. Currently 4 2. The team that has the ball right now, the other team that has Corona on their back, Club America. Club America has the ability to come back and win this. If they were able to get the five goals before Drip fc, Ivanovich is.
AJ Hawk
Always gonna shoot it.
Pat McAfee
That guy has a quad tattoo that is electrifying that he was showcasing in warmup ups. The man that just missed that shot right there. Now if Club America scores three goals, they'll win this game. All Drip FC has to do is score one goalie's Out. Go, go, go, Go, Go, Go, Go.
Paddy Maroon
Go. Go. Go. Go.
Pat McAfee
Go. Go, go, go, go. Club America.
Darius Butler
Holy shite.
Pat McAfee
From their own end. Come on, Santucci. All of a sudden, target score time is four to three. Here's the replay. From his own end, he says. Give me that. Santucc can't reach four to three. Target score time. Yeah.
Seamus
Should have been two points.
Pat McAfee
All Club America needs now is two more goals.
Seamus
Shoot it too.
Pat McAfee
Drip FC only needs one.
Boston Connor
They're taking a player off here.
Pat McAfee
I believe we are three minutes into target score time. So now they will sub one player off from each team. It was seven on seven. Now it's five on five. I was told we missed an entire three minutes.
Seamus
Can you call a timeout in soccer?
Pat McAfee
No, I think we do have a timeout. I think. I think we do. Okay. In 11. 11, I believe. No. Santuch with the ball in the back. This is what we were talking about earlier. Goalie needs to be able to play soccer. Dave up front, he's an influencer. Great soccer player. Fun to watch. Right there with the ball pivoting. Go.
Boston Connor
Oh, that thing bent down.
AJ Hawk
What is that reflection?
Pat McAfee
It was a defect.
AJ Hawk
What does he do, like, trick shop anyway?
Seamus
Or, like.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, he does, like, cool stuff.
Seamus
Like big shot Brad, huh?
Pat McAfee
No, he's not Brad Johnson.
Darius Butler
Big shot Brett.
Pat McAfee
Drip FC with a corner.
Boston Connor
So is that what Drip FC is, a lot of, like, Internet guys, or is he, like, the one?
Seamus
Have we spotted Johnny Damon yet?
Pat McAfee
I don't know. I wonder. Guy with a thigh tat? Probably. Yeah.
AJ Hawk
Ivanovich.
Pat McAfee
I don't know if that was out. I'm literally sitting right down the line, too. Should have. Should I ask.
Seamus
Well, does the ball have to go out or just.
AJ Hawk
Yes, we talked to the rest before the game. You told them they weren't doing any good, so.
Pat McAfee
No, I told them they're gonna do a good job.
Boston Connor
We'll tell them they had Good boots on.
Pat McAfee
23 here. 23 that is playing front left for.
Seamus
Angle to take a shot right there.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, but Santuch can't. Can't get out of position again.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Currently five on five. The team is in blue, needs two goals. The team in white said Tucci, oh, had a lot of space and opportunity. They might have let him do that because he is a goalie.
Darius Butler
He heard you, A.J.
Seamus
I know.
Pat McAfee
Now, this team in blue here, Club America, they need to score two goals to win this game. Target score time. It is currently four to three. Drip fc. Johnny Damon owns Drip fc. Yes, that Johnny Damon, who is very much known For. Yeah.
Ty Schmidt
Absolute legend with the Boston Red Sox, Kansas City Royals, and most notably the New York Yankees.
Boston Connor
Not true. Not true. Most notably the Boston Red Sox.
Pat McAfee
He reversed.
Boston Connor
He reversed the curse in 2004 after being down. Johnny Damon is a legend in Boston.
AJ Hawk
What did he do with that game, Connor?
Boston Connor
He had a grand slam and then another ding dong later on in the game. Love Johnny Damon forever, I think.
Pat McAfee
Can they get a ding dong here in target sports time? That's all they need. They.
Boston Connor
They might get a ding dong.
Pat McAfee
I. I don't.
Boston Connor
I don't know if they're going to be able to get it done with.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, I mean, it's tough to beat Santosh when he's got some defenders in front of him. It's just everyone knows it, you know?
Pat McAfee
I wonder if the Club America team who has scored two goals now in this target score time are all Arena League boys.
Boston Connor
Yeah. Something I'm noticing with both these teams, Pat, and maybe you can speak to this. Their benches are not big enough. They do not have enough players. Club America looks like they have 12 guys.
Pat McAfee
Game one here, obviously, obviously not that big of a threat. Game two, game three, not having a deep bench will bite you directly in the ass. Oh, what a play. Oh, that could have been it. What a save by. He just called.
AJ Hawk
I think he got hit.
Pat McAfee
There's big time save by Specs down there for Club America. I mean, he ate that one in the face, I do believe.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, broken nose, broken jaw.
Boston Connor
Maybe he doesn't care.
Darius Butler
Nope, that's why they call.
Pat McAfee
Boom. What a save. Save the game. Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now as target score time continues. I did not know. I actually forgot that he was watching us do all of this while wasting his life. Ladies and gentlemen, three time Stanley cup champion, St. Louis. Hey, sorry we wasted your time, lad. So sorry about that.
AJ Hawk
Oh, no.
Pat McAfee
Oh, no. We can't hear you down here. You want to talk about wasting time? We did that. But rig. Hello. There you are. How are you?
Josie Altidore
Yeah, thanks for wasting my time.
Pat McAfee
All right. It's a good soccer tournament down here, Patty Maroon. Maybe we'll have you on the team next year to add a little physicality. Yeah, you'd fit in well with our group, especially because you have that champion pedigree. Let's talk about that. Obviously, tonight, the NHL Stanley Cup Finals. Puck drops. Connor McDavid needs the Witness for his legacy. I hate that we even have that conversation, but Connor McDavid is clearly best player on earth right now. How everybody should talk. And winning a cup is Just something that has to happen alongside of that, or the Florida Panthers looking to become like the eighth dynastic run, saying they went back to back. What's the bigger talking point? What matters more? Who's motivated more, you think? Big rig?
Josie Altidore
Oh, I think, yeah. I mean, with Connor. Yeah. I mean, this would put a stamp on his legacy in itself. I think we all talk about how great Connor McDavid is, and he's probably the best player in the world and probably will go down as the best player we ever see to ever step foot. You know, obviously, I'm not taking away Wayne Gretzky, but obviously Wayne's an elite player, but generational, you know, right now, Connor McDavid will probably go down as one of the best players to play. And I think this will. If he needs to win a Stanley cup, yes, I think it will stamp his legacy even, you know, higher. But there's times where, you know, Connor's probably going to have this opportunity multiple times. Right. But I think if he wins this, yes, this will stamp his legacy. Right. Right to where he needs to go. But we're talking about Florida Panthers, though, a team that's getting in the way of that, and they're going to be, you know, trying to be the next team to go back to back they want. They went back to three Stanley Cups in a row, and they're trying to win two in a row right now. So they're in the way right now. Team that's pretty healthy right now, and it's going to be a hard pass for Connor and the guys.
Pat McAfee
Isn't it crazy to just think about the greatness that's happening? Kachuk said on our show, I think, or maybe somebody else's. I forget. He said we're clearly the two best teams in hockey. Clearly. He was like, everybody kind of knows that we're the two best. We don't know. Big crowd reaction. I don't know. I think there was a big foul. Foul, Patty. I think it was a big foul. Here's a replay. Oh, pushing it back. Oh, is that a penalty?
Boston Connor
Absolute Bushley looks like a flop.
Pat McAfee
I think he's got a penalty to win this. Wait a minute. No red card. Don't be calling for Patty. Don't be doing this. Oh, we got a penalty, Patty.
Josie Altidore
Wow.
Pat McAfee
All right. Do you think he scores or you think the goalie saves it? Pat Maroon.
Josie Altidore
He scores.
Pat McAfee
Okay. That would win it.
Ty Schmidt
Yep.
Pat McAfee
For drip FC. Number 10 for drip FC.
Boston Connor
Is that Lou?
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Seamus
What do you do? You pick a side. Right or left?
Pat McAfee
Or what I would go. I always go as hard as I possibly can. Right. Half of net.
Boston Connor
Okay.
Pat McAfee
But he's probably gonna go precision. Big save. Big save, cap. America stays alive. Wanna save by specs down there.
Boston Connor
That was a very poorly tries to read.
Pat McAfee
Okay. Because you kind of read somebody's approach. You can kind of do that. The goalie, obviously, I think he was a reacting goalie. Some people react, some people guess. So I think Shooter was hoping for a guesser. He was a reactor.
Darius Butler
Got his ass.
Pat McAfee
You get it?
Josie Altidore
It wasn't the best shot.
Pat McAfee
What's that?
Josie Altidore
It wasn't the best shot right there.
Pat McAfee
He was hoping that he guessed the other way, I think. I think he was big.
Boston Connor
Soccer.
Darius Butler
Go top bin.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, you watch soccer all the time. Who's your team?
Josie Altidore
No, I don't.
Pat McAfee
Okay.
Darius Butler
Pretty much the same as hockey.
Pat McAfee
All right, well, your prediction game is 0 for 1 here. You said he'd score the goal. He said. When you talk about Connor McDavid, you just said something there. He's probably the best player ever. Is it like, do all hockey people talk about that? Like just how absurd he is on the ice? Because I think for the NHL. Great news that he's on prime time in the Stanley cup final to watch. Looks like he's going a different speed. Is that what it is or what is it about him?
Josie Altidore
Yeah, I mean, I think his hockey iq, he thinks the game faster than a lot of people think the game. He's one step faster than, you know, the normal average NHL player. And there's a lot of guys like that. The Kucheroffs, the McKinnon's, the Crosbys. I mean, there's a list of guys that go down dry. Seidel that just have that hockey IQ that I think one step faster than a normal, normal NHL hockey player. But his quickness and the way he turn on a dime, the way he can do things, you know, his edge work, you know, he's so dynamic. Dynamic that is. And I think his first two steps, three steps, it kind of fools a lot of defenders. He puts pucks in a lot of different areas in their feet and their triangle of their stick where it makes it very difficult to defend. So, you know, he, he's, he's, he's one of the best in generational.
Pat McAfee
I can't wait to watch him tonight. And also Club America has tied it up in target score time. It was 4:1 going into target score time. Now we are at 4, 4. It's the first one to five. Remember the, the way these Games end down here. Patty Maroon is. It's always a walk off whatever the leading team has. You add one goal. That is now the target. Target score. Whoever gets there first wins. Club America was down three. Now they're tied. All they need is one goal. It's three on three in Cary, North Carolina. They have a field player with a penny on. He's acting as the goalie. Let's go ahead and get an extra couple feet on the ball. Soccer Dave is in for his team when it's three on three. He must be a great player. Back to the goalie. They would try to pick apart. There's a new rule that you can't hold it for eight, eight seconds anymore.
Boston Connor
Oh, that's a great.
Pat McAfee
People used to sit with the ball for eight seconds. It was very boring just waiting for the other team to attack. It was kind of a standstill. Soccer Dave went for the win. Dave Specs with another massive save. Patty Maroon. It's getting into a new league.
Josie Altidore
What's going on here? Is this a new league?
Pat McAfee
It's like.
AJ Hawk
What's going on?
Pat McAfee
It's a once a year tournament called tst. It's called the soccer tournament. You remember tbt? The basketball one one?
Josie Altidore
Yeah, the basketball, yeah.
Pat McAfee
They do it for soccer. It's called tst and it's like three times bigger than the basketball one. With fans, teams, everything. Million dollars online. It's a huge.
Josie Altidore
I'm shocked. You're not playing.
Pat McAfee
Well, my team won this morning, Patty. Oh, Conceifa is our name. Which is a play you put an.
Josie Altidore
Extra million in for the boys to win or.
Pat McAfee
No, I am paying the boys. Drip FC scores in target score time after an epic clash with Club America. Oh, they're coming over. Drip sc. The boys?
Darius Butler
Hell yeah.
Pat McAfee
Jeez. I like Drip fc. I hope we see you in the finals, brother.
Josie Altidore
That was awesome.
Pat McAfee
Wow. Wow, what a win. First Drip fc. Daddy Maroon. Pretty electrified, don't you think?
Josie Altidore
That was electric.
AJ Hawk
We almost had a Commander Stadium situation.
Pat McAfee
They were. They were just rocking on that glass.
Ty Schmidt
Can't be doing that.
Pat McAfee
Hey, great work, whoever put this. ESPN folks. Production, folks. Yeah. Well done, well done. That could have been bad.
Ty Schmidt
Big time.
Pat McAfee
Don't pull on that. I don't know who actually getting. I know I am. So I was watching, you know, as it was taking place. AJ has a question for you. Patty. What a winner. Winner for Drip FC and Johnny Damon.
Seamus
Yeah, Johnny Damon is definitely happy with Patty.
Pat McAfee
What?
Seamus
When you talk about Connor McGay, McDavid, I'm thinking with hockey you play football and basketball here. When you have a generational talent, a lot of people say, hey, just don't let this guy beat you. We need to force someone else to beat us. Can you do that with Conor? David McDavid is it. Are you able to find your way?
Pat McAfee
Easy.
Seamus
This guy just came off. I mean, I almost saw a guy die here. This thing a second. Can you take Connor McDavid away and force the other guys to beat you?
Josie Altidore
Yeah, I mean, you can. Are you asking like you went without Connor McDavid? Try to cut out there.
Seamus
We got a lot of moving parts going on. I'm saying, can you focus on him and say double him, do whatever it takes to actually take Connor McDavid away? Is that possible in hockey with a guy as good as he is?
Josie Altidore
I mean, it's possible, yeah. You can have a guy that can shut him down and, and, you know, it's not like basketball, it's like one on one or football. There's a lot of one on one matches where you can shut them down. But yeah, they'll have their matchups where it's probably Barkov's line against Connor McDavid's line and you kind of just shadow them. In the neutral zone, you'll probably have someone shadow them, but it's going to be hard to contain them as much as possible. It's not like basketball or football where you have your one on one matches and you can contain a little bit better that way. But I think you have your matchups with your deep hearing, the top two D that are going against them and then the top three fours that are going to match up against them too. So they just try to do a good job of limited time and space, being hard on them, physicality on them, you know, try not to, you know, get that, you know, space where he can create his office on his own. So I think it's all time and space limited, but I think that's why, you know, hockey's great, because it's. If you beat one guy, it's the next man up to kind of defend and help out that way in that direction. So you got to beat all five guys. So, I mean, we all know Florida Panthers are a good defending team. They're physic, they're physical, so it's going to be hard for them. But, you know, he always finds ways, the best players finds ways to kind of get out of that.
Pat McAfee
Is there like a scouting report on each guy on how to beat him? Like, I know goalies, we have That I know goalies were breaking them down, and it's fun to watch. Now that I learned that you guys do that, watching the first period shots, all going to one side of the. Like, everybody's peppering high, glove side. It's like, obviously the message was, hey, this guy's glove is susceptible. Is there, like. Is there a story or a book on guys, too? Like, hey, this guy doesn't, like, maybe whenever we chop the shit close to his hands, doesn't like a little. Is there like that type of conversation when you guys are breaking down film or how does it go?
Josie Altidore
Yeah, it's mostly in the playoffs. Some coaches I had to coach, Todd McCaule, and he'll have a sheet before every game. You look at it, their lineup and their tendencies, what they bring, what they're good at, what they're not so good at, things that can, you know, get underneath their skin. And I know during the playoffs, every coach does this. You have like a booksheet, and then, you know, they're kind of analyzing each player and they have all their tendencies and what they're good at, what they're not so good at. You know, how can you drive them a little bit nuts? You know, guys, you want to stay away. You know, these are the guys that like the kind of in between whistles, so stay away from that. You know, they have a lot of things that kind of queue on it. Mostly it's attended to goalies, I would say, in the playoffs, because you're trying to get to the goalie. Usually the goalies, you can say their best player. That's their guy. You know, Bob Rossky's obviously a stud, so how can we get the Bob. But, you know. Yeah, but there's a booklet of sheets where, you know, there's. There's guys that have all their tendencies and what they're good at, and you just try to focus on. On maybe one or two of those throughout the course of a series.
Pat McAfee
What do you think the book was on you when other people are reading about you? Big. This guy's big.
Josie Altidore
Big, slow.
Pat McAfee
Can beat him with speed, although we rarely do it with speed. Yeah. D bot has a question for you, Pat.
Darius Butler
Yeah, you just talked about Bob, and obviously, you know, defense wins championship. Who do you give the goalie edge to when it comes to Bob and Skinner in the other net?
Josie Altidore
To me, I think Bob has the edge. I think he. He's a guy that's obviously been there the last two years. He's won one. You know, I'm still Waiting for Skinner to make those. You know, he's been playing great ever since Picard got hurt. He kind of stepped in and kind of had those ropes where he, you know, he had to step up and play his game. And they rely on Skinner a lot. But, but the upper hand. Right now, I'm giving it to Bob until Skinner, you know, shows me, you know, maybe games wanted to. He's here to perform. And I think he went through that transition last year of, you know, letting in some kind of soft bulls. And when you win a Stanley cup, you need defense, you need your goaltender, you know, you rely on them so much. So I'm going to give it to Bob right now, but we'll talk after game one. We'll see how it goes.
Pat McAfee
Connor has a question for you.
Paddy Maroon
Patty.
Boston Connor
Yeah, Patty, you got brought up in the first hour. What's the deal with the new cba? Because we know for the Lightning teams you played for, for some of these Panthers teams, for the Golden Knights kind of cheated.
Pat McAfee
I'm not gonna go that far, but.
Boston Connor
The whole entire, oh, this guy's hurt, this guy's hurt, this guy's hurt. Let's stay under the cap. Boom. Playoffs. Let's bring back Kucherov, let's bring back Stone, let's bring back some of the greatest players in the, the league, even though, you know, they're technically over the cap. What is this situation and how much will this actually change the NHL playoffs? Because it does feel as though this kind of, you know, sneaking of the rule, kind of taking advantage of the rule has dramatically helped some of these teams go and get the cup.
Darius Butler
Patriots.
Josie Altidore
Yeah, I mean, listen, the CBA is going to talk about it. They're going to touch on it. The GMs are going to touch on it. The, the owners are. But listen, guys are hurt. Guys are hurt. You have patch space. I think you should utilize it. In my opinion, I think you're not really cheating the system because your guys are really hurt. Like, I know everyone's talking about the K off effect and, you know, he was hurt, you know, the whole season, and all of a sudden he comes back for game one of the playoffs. Well, he was hurt. And we could talk about Kachuk right now. You know, he was hurt. He got hurt in four nations. And then, you know, they have space for Seth Jones and, and Brad Marchand and, and Sturm. And so, I mean, listen, I think they're, they're probably going to touch on it. Probably. People are pretty aggravated by it. The owners or the teams that don't make it that far, that don't have enough cap space or don't have injuries that run into that situation. But it's certainly something to talk about. But, hey, listen, if a guy's hurt or guys hurt, if you can make your team better by adding more pieces underneath the cap, and I know you're going to be over the cap once the playoff hits, but they only say, hey, you got to hit the cap before, you know, before the end of the season. So if you can do that and add pieces to the puzzle, I'm all for it. I don't think you can get rid of it. I think it's. You make your teams a lot better by doing that.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. How come the Pittsburgh Penguins aren't doing it? How come the teams that aren't good aren't doing it? What's the deal?
Josie Altidore
Ro well, because they're not in the playoffs.
Ty Schmidt
Jeez.
Pat McAfee
Oh, and they haven't been for a while.
Boston Connor
Tell them Big R.
AJ Hawk
Last year.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Kyle Dubus is going to turn around. Don't you worry about. Dubious T has a question for you, Pat.
Ty Schmidt
Big rig. In a lot of other sports, we, when it comes to generational talents, we talk about, hey, when they win their first title, you know, it's kind of like, you know, taking the top off the bucket or whatever. If, if Conor McDavid is to win this Stanley cup up, do you think there's a chance that the Oilers kind of go on a run here where they're in a position like the Panthers are right now, where they're in the Finals every year, they're winning Cups or at least, you know, like, he could have a real generational run. Or is that different in hockey than it is in every other sport because it's so difficult to win a Stanley Cup?
Josie Altidore
No, I. I think you're totally right there. I think the window's so small in hockey, right? If you have a window that's still open and you can keep going after, keep trying to go win Cups, keep going after. Once the window closes, then you're seeing it with, like, you know, the. Obviously, we can go back to the Penguins. You know, the winner was open for so many years, winning championships, going back to the Finals, you know, they won back to back, but I think if they win, they're going to keep that window open and keep adding pieces to, you know, keep trying to win more Stanley Cups as you can. And look at Florida right now. They're doing the same thing. You know, they don't want their wonderful Close because once it closes then you're kind of in that rebound field phrase, right? And you know, to me, if you have the two best players in the world, Connor, Leon, you got to keep that window open as much as possible because those two can really draw you in and bring you back to the Stanley cup just on those two alone. So I hope they win. I hope Edmonton wins. Kind of relieved that pressure from Connor and Leon. They can now kind of settle in, win their cup and then hopefully go on a deep run, continue to keep winning here. Because with those two guys in the game, it's much better and it's bigger for us.
AJ Hawk
I got a question for you. We know that the Panthers are pests or rats. Obviously the Oilers know they are pests in rats. But is there a way like obviously the Oilers know that, but is there a chance that the Panthers can still get under their skin? And going into a series like that when you know the other team is, is going to try to get under your skin the entire time, what do you do?
Josie Altidore
Behind me, I mean, the Florida Panthers are a greasy hockey team.
Boston Connor
Super greasy.
Darius Butler
Hell yeah.
Josie Altidore
They're, they're fun to watch and they're, they're a pain to play against. They're always in your face. So. But I think Edmonton's got those guys. I think for Edmonton, they just got to stay away from the kind of bullshit that goes on with, you know, the Florida Panthers. You know, they're going to be doing stuff behind the whistle, they're going to be doing stuff behind the play, they're going to be rubbing in your face after every whistle. They're going to be trying to get you underneath your skin as much as possible. So I think what Edmonton, they have those guys, but whateverton, they just got to stay within structure and just play their game and stay out of the, stay out of the nonsense that you know, Florida's going to bring. Because Florida is a better hockey team when you engage back with them. So if you're engaging back, they're a better hockey team. Those guys feed off that stuff. The marsh on Supernet, Sammy and Chuck and you know, eclat, all these guys, they kind of just feed off this energy of like getting back in your face and they just laugh in your face and they come continue to do it. So I think for Edmonton to stay in your lane, stay out of the stuff and you know, just play your game because you're, you're so talented and so deep right now, so. But they have guys that go back at them so it will Be interesting to see how they handle the situation.
Pat McAfee
I like to see a physical fight start tonight. Seven game series, the NHL Stanley Cup Finals. A man who has won that three times just so happened to be in a row for two different teams. Ladies and gentlemen, don't mind Patty Maroon. Thank you, Patty. Is this a new league?
Boston Connor
Fair question.
Darius Butler
Fair question.
Boston Connor
Yeah. If you've never seen it before, you would assume. My God.
Pat McAfee
Hey, that game behind us was electrical.
Ty Schmidt
Alltime classic.
Boston Connor
That's what the bonus time target. Target time. Sorry.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Boston Connor
Target score is all about.
Pat McAfee
You're literally waiting all day for Target. Yeah, that's what we're trying to get to now. That was last year's plan. I don't know about this year because we have a much more talented team.
Boston Connor
Much more ball dominant.
AJ Hawk
But that's why you play great during the actual game, because they were up 4:1, so you have a little wiggle room. And when you get down to three guys.
Pat McAfee
So like last year playing was just keep it tight for targets for time. Just get to Target store times, and then we'll have Arena League boys take it over. You know, like, if. If we're losing, let's just. We're down two nothing, I think, in one of the games. Yeah. And we get to target score time. We come back, win three two. Because we got the arena boys voice. That is arena soccer right there at the end. So, like, our arena squad being out there, it is the time.
Boston Connor
And Meola, first of all, Miola looks so good. That's unbelievable. Yeah, like night, but much, much better this year also, he had a heart attack. Yeah, exactly. So it's awesome to see some things for you. Sometimes people. Well, so, I mean, some people, not all pretty good. Some people, especially when you come from an Irish family, they'll have a heart attack and they'll say, hey, I'm ready for number two, too. Other times, some people will, you know, actually get better. And it's cool. Meola has. Has he drawn up plays? Because he told us last night.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Boston Connor
That he has kind of been in his back. Was going to name a play after Gumpy. Has he done that yet?
Pat McAfee
I haven't heard the Gumpy play call yet, but I. He is on the dryer race.
Ty Schmidt
Okay.
Pat McAfee
We're drawing a lot of this. I actually have a video of the pregame speech from Tony Meola back in the village. Back in the a.
Boston Connor
Saw you post. Comes.
Pat McAfee
Gump gave a speech this morning after breakfast. The last speech before we left from the hotel was on Gump.
Darius Butler
Wow.
Pat McAfee
Tony Muola walked over to him about four seconds before he had to speak to say, hey, you want to say something? And walked away. And then Tony Mueller said, ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, Coach.
AJ Hawk
He was ready, Coach.
Pat McAfee
Obviously Coach Gump was ready. He's given that speech to Liverpool.
Josie Altidore
Oh yeah.
Pat McAfee
I think a few different times. Let's go to the truck. Actually, Gumpy, how'd you feel giving that speech this morning? You absolutely nailed it, pal. I mean I just remember how we.
AJ Hawk
Started last year and I just knew we had to come out of the gates fast. And I just wanted to remind the boys that we had to have game one and that's what we did.
Pat McAfee
And it was on Gumpy to announce who's captain of this team. Wow.
Boston Connor
Gump.
Pat McAfee
Did he pick Gump? That was a big deal. I feel like that was.
AJ Hawk
Coach Meal actually came over and was like, can you let everybody know that that's the captain?
Pat McAfee
That's smart play by Tony Mueller actually. Yeah. Anybody's pissed about this? Remember Gumpy?
Boston Connor
No bad blood from Breck. Yeah, I feel like Breck shades.
Pat McAfee
Breck was not the Breck is a captain but he was not copped in last year. Remember Jeff Cameron?
AJ Hawk
I mean he was, he was Captain America.
Pat McAfee
We have a lot of captains on the team but Zach Knight is seven foot tall.
Boston Connor
Yeah, he's a beast.
Pat McAfee
Big lad and he played did 160 minutes straight last year.
Boston Connor
Ran a guy over. Actually he was out here game one.
AJ Hawk
He was in the Premier League for.
Pat McAfee
10 plus years and he got fouled today. And because he's so big they didn't call the foul.
AJ Hawk
Yeah, crunched himself at his knees.
Pat McAfee
Got one for a cross body on absurd and just didn't even care. Unbelievable. I didn't even think about the refs working again. The refs were good. The refs were good. Let's not complain about the Gumpy got two yellow cards last year. Yelling at the Rock refs.
Josie Altidore
That's right.
Ty Schmidt
You might get two more.
Pat McAfee
We were pretty docile bunch. I feel like this game when you.
Ty Schmidt
Control the possession like that, there's not really a whole. A whole lot to about.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, you're just waiting for a goal.
Ty Schmidt
Exactly.
Darius Butler
Great pre game speech.
Pat McAfee
Let's talk about some things that have happened around the NFL. Travis Hunter has his first massive NFL highlight comes from otas. He's playing db. And I'll tell you what, I believe they say it's called in a guy's pocket D bucks. Did you see this video and what are your thoughts?
Darius Butler
Oh yeah, I asked Rap sheet yesterday. Hey, any updates from Travis Hunter? And I've had eyes boots on the ground down there. He's just been phenomenal. Obviously, he's playing both sides to the ball. But this right here, a lot of people bitching, oh, it wasn't the catch. It wasn't this. The fact that it's even a conversation with that play going up high, pointing it, leaning locate, and then finishing and making the play on the ball here. He is just a phenomenal athlete. I can't wait to see this kid on Sundays doing his things. On both sides of the football.
Pat McAfee
They say he has the juice all the time. They say vibes lifted when Travis Hunter comes in the room. And that's also a piece of the scouting. It's like, hey, this guy's really good player. He's a generational talent. He can play on both sides. His cardiovascular is better than everybody else seemingly in the NFL. What's he like as a human? Ah, we can deal with it. Like, even if he wasn't the person he is, they would deal with it because of the amount of football talent that he has. But add on the fact that he's, like, considered like the perfect teammate, the perfect football guy, just always bought in and his vibes are always immaculate. It's like, what a home run for Jacksonville. And that's why Stoner down there gave the speech that he gave. And you said you talk to people, boots on the ground down there. They're giving reports like, every day. It's something where he is doing something absurd. Right?
Darius Butler
Yeah. Guys watching practice and just. We all been around those guys. I'm sure C. Wood was kind of like this. It's just like the ball just finds him and they're never Tyrann Matthews, another player that kind of comes to mind. Just absolute ball magnets. Spatial awareness, always aware who's around you, what's going on around you. So, like I said, I can't wait to see how he fits into number one, the offense on the other side of Brian Thomas Jr. And then his defense getting the offense extra possessions by creating turnover. Turnovers. Nothing impacts the game more. In creating turnovers and setting your offense up to be successful and like in.
Boston Connor
The entire draft, combine process, everything. Travis Hunter basically talked about his number one wide receiver, number one cornerback. And right now, the trendy pick feels like in the off season for the team to turn it around is the New England Patriots. It feels as though that has kind of been.
Pat McAfee
Congrats on the new deal with Will Campbell.
Boston Connor
Yeah, well, Campbell signs His contract fully.
Pat McAfee
Guaranteed for $43.66 million. Number four overall pick.
Boston Connor
Yeah, love that. You assume Travis Hunter is going to get 50 guaranteed. If he's doing stuff like this and he's playing both sides of the ball. The Jags, I feel like the team that have been kind of, you know, better in recent years that have had a couple bad seasons.
Pat McAfee
But then you had Trevor Lawrence, a guy.
Boston Connor
Exactly. Trevor Lawrence guy. But you had Brian Thomas Jr. Last year, who widely regarded as one of the best receivers. Receivers, if not the best rookie receiver. If you think Travis Hunter is going to be the number one of this class, both corner and wide receiver. All of a sudden the Jags add a number one corner, add another wide receiver with Brian Thomas. And then you look at what's happening in Houston with CJ Stroud. The AFC south is kind of wide open.
Pat McAfee
Let's talk about what's going on in Houston. There's reports coming out of the Houston Texans OTAs that CJ Stroud has been limited. CJ Stroud is not thrown. And then Coach D' Amico Ryan's actually addressed it and said there's some soreness, that they're being precautioned. Yeah, if you can lower the d' Ameco Ryan's, there's no concerns with CJ it's just general soreness. We're taking extra precautions with him, but he'll be good to go. No concerns on my end there, says Ian Rap Court. Third year quarterback, stud quarterback back. OTAS has done everything right, can spin it.
Boston Connor
Shoulder.
Pat McAfee
They're saying no concerns for soreness during OTAs. I like seeing that looks like he put his arm, his hand over his shoulders. So if there was a massive shoulder injury, I don't think he would be doing all that. The soreness is interesting with the time of year that it is. It's June. Yeah. Was this too hard of workouts? Is this an injury that's lingering from last year that he didn't know was any as serious, like the Derek Carr situation that happened just a few months ago down in New Orleans. What are your thoughts on it, Steve?
Darius Butler
Hopefully it's a big nothing burger here in, in early June. But because we were conversing before the show, me AJ Specifically talking about the quarterbacks we kind of been around and you were around Peyton. And the one thing we know about franchise quarterbacks, they like to get all their reps, you know, regardless of when it is minicamp, otas training camp. Camp, they like to get those reps if they're in the building, which most of them are. So this is concerning to me. Early June is the young quarterback definitely too early to be taking G days. So definitely concerning. But hopefully once we get into the season, once again, he's a phenomenal talent. So hopefully we see him taking every snap next season. It's a big, big nothing burger. Once we get to the big dance.
Seamus
Yeah, it can be. It definitely most likely is is nothing. You would think with the time of year is what kind of would scare me. Like the only time I've ever seen a quarterback not maybe not throw as much or have not even an off day, but come out and just okay, he's not going to do seven on and team today. But just individual is if say you had three straight days of practices and you threw a bunch of balls and you had. You have a certain limit. But a young guy in June not throwing. Yeah, I would. I'd be worried a little bit.
Pat McAfee
Especially because we've heard nothing about any of it. I'll tell you, whenever I saw Andrew Luck throwing at the beginning of that one training camp when he.
Darius Butler
Yeah, yeah.
Pat McAfee
It was like, Ollie pops, right? He can't throw a football. Oh, that is not.
Darius Butler
That's not a guy.
Pat McAfee
Remember, that's not an NFL quarterback right there. Those are some floaters that are happening right there. That's whenever like everybody kind of found out about it, I think, on our team. I wonder how the Houston Texans are with this soreness. Have they known? Have they expected this? Has CJ expected this? Is this something he's been dealing with? We hope not. Good luck, cj.
Ty Schmidt
Good luck, cj.
Pat McAfee
Micah Parsons. He's twitch tweeting about minicamp. You said I'm a beater. I never missed one. Oh, yeah? So what? Going in my fourth year, never missed one of these. Okay, Mike, call mandatory. I'll be there. I haven't missed a mini camp in four years. Even though the contract is not done. I have teammates and a playbook. I'm preparing as if I will be on the field the first week of camp, but it's in the owner's hands. I'm ready to win Super Bowl. Sounds like they're in the middle of negotiating. It sounds like Michael Parsons knows what the right thing is, which is to be around his teammates to set an example of being there for a mandatory minicamp, knowing that he's going to be a staple or a pillar of the Dallas Cowboys for a long time. It's good for the rookies. It's good for the entire team. To see one of their guys present at a mandatory minicamp as opposed to any drama or missing. Maybe some guy might want to ask him about his routine. Maybe you want to just get used to kind of how everything is under shotty in the building. There's a lot of upside side the downside is you lose leverage in negotiations is what people say. Because if you hold out, you take a stand, you're really not happy about what's going on. Him being there, I don't think slows anything down. Jerry Jones has been very open about paying him. It's in the owner's hand, says Micah. We assume it's going to get done.
Seamus
Jerry's going to pay him. Right, Jerry. I mean, Jerry drafted him. Micah is a foundational piece of franchise dude. A guy that moves and runs and runs, rushes the passer like not really anyone else on the planet can do. So yeah, I think Jerry's gonna pay him. I don't know when that might be. Remember when Zeke didn't go to camp and he was down in Cabo working out and everything and then all of a sudden, bam, he gets a gigantic deal. I don't know if Mike is gonna have to do that, but Jerry will get him paid.
Darius Butler
Even the CD lamp situation last year, that. So whatever. For whatever reason, this is how Jerry does his business. But to your point, he ends up paying these guys and they do a great job. I haven't seen the draft, you know, finding these guys in the pre draft process, paying them at the point. So he will be a guy. Myles Garrett, obviously he set that gap and kind of I think between him and was that Danil Hunter and Crosby. So I think Parsons will be very close to Myles Garrett when he actually does get paid because he is a guy who is a pillar who you build your defenses around. You know, top three pass rusher since pretty much the day he stepped into the NFL.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, it's going to get, get done. I mean, Jerry has in the recent, you know, past, he's waited until almost like right before the season to pay these guys. But if you're a Cowboys fan, you know, like they're not letting Micah Parsons go anywhere. You just can't. I mean he's, he is their defense right now. And, and if Jerry recognizes that, so we'll see. I mean, is he going to end up having to maybe give him a little bit more than he would had he paid him a couple months ago? Probably, but that's kind of been the Cowboys MO with their, you know, big time stars over the last few years.
AJ Hawk
Maybe Jerry likes this because we're talking about it. The drama like and no.
Darius Butler
And Mike is going to talk about.
AJ Hawk
Maybe he just waits all this time because he likes hearing people talk about the cows.
Pat McAfee
Well, with that being said, you bringing up the. Jerry drafted him. Yep. It's like, yeah, there's 100 chance he gets paid. He knows that. I'm just going to come to mandatory minicamp. We know this is going to get done. Michael Parsons is going to be on prime time 13 times a year for the next 10 years of his career. And that's Jerry Jones football, baby.
Boston Connor
Exactly.
Pat McAfee
That is how it goes. Let's talk about maybe some Pittsburgh Steeler football. Have you heard dbut?
Darius Butler
I have not.
Pat McAfee
Have you heard A.J.
Seamus
Nope.
Pat McAfee
Connor?
Boston Connor
I don't think so.
Pat McAfee
Ty?
Ty Schmidt
I don't think so. No.
Pat McAfee
I know. Diggs has John. Ooh. Smith. Whoa. Trade conversations with the Pittsburgh Steelers has happened and started up back again, says Adam Schefter back in it. The Steelers renewed conversations today with Dolphins tight end John Smith, who is seeking a new contract. The trade between the Steelers and Dolphins is still alive, per source. One person told Adam Schefter that tone, I haven't heard you be as excited as I think you should be for a John Hugh Smith type caliber player coming to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
AJ Hawk
Yeah, it is back on, which is exciting because yesterday boarding Schefter said it was off. Those things, you know, the talks have died. It's not going to happen. Yesterday afternoon, those things are. The talks are back on. I think I'd be more excited if I thought it was real at all. There's a lot of thoughts in Pittsburgh through the Pittsburgh media now that this is just Drew Rosenhaus trying to, you know, kick up some interest so that the Dolphins will pay Johnny Smith because he deserves it. He's an incredible player. Would I love Johnny Smith to be a Steeler? Yes. Do I think it's going to happen?
Ty Schmidt
No.
AJ Hawk
They just paid Pat. Fr Darnell Washington came into camp £15 down. They said he looks amazing. Now, yesterday their third tight end, Donald Parnham, did tears Achilles. So that news, Chef's news kind of aligned with that. So there may have been some legitimacy there, but no, it just doesn't. It doesn't make sense for either team. You've got the Dolphins guy who was their best player last year, and then the Steelers who, you know, already paid a tight end, have two tight ends now. I love, I know that already loves tight ends, but it just doesn't feel, doesn't Feel real. So I'm not excited.
Pat McAfee
Okay, so you think it's a business play by Rosenhaus, who has done billions, billions of dollars in negotiations over the past. Yeah, feels I think there's a chance. But Schefter's reporting it twice now.
AJ Hawk
Yes, he is.
Pat McAfee
So Schefter's not just putting out fake stuff. I mean, Schefter has to be legit hit.
AJ Hawk
Correct.
Pat McAfee
So maybe there is a little bit of a dabble in a conversation. If the Dolphins aren't able to get it done, Johnny would like to get out of here. Maybe the Steelers are saying, hey, is there actual availability here? We'll see if the Dolphins make the play. The Dolphins pay everybody, don't they, Gumpy? Dolphins pay everybody.
AJ Hawk
We like paying guys that actually don't play for us either.
Pat McAfee
So we'll get rid of our best player. It's just.
Boston Connor
This is.
Pat McAfee
No, nobody said you guys are doing it.
Ty Schmidt
No, we're still.
Pat McAfee
You know, Gumpy. Stinky Fox 97 and Love Mexicana Express playing right here behind us. Big foul. Ref has dug into the pocket.
Ty Schmidt
He's good. I thought that guy got shot in both legs with a shotgun.
Boston Connor
Well, he pulled the yellow. He pulled the yellow card.
Paddy Maroon
That's a hat.
Pat McAfee
A yellow car. Oh, yellow. You do it one more time, mister. Two games out of here.
AJ Hawk
Is there carryover and yellows in this tournament?
Pat McAfee
I think you're. I think you're allowed to get 14 of them. Okay. Nice.
Seamus
Cover your dong here.
Darius Butler
Good number.
Pat McAfee
We could get a deflection off of our face or dongs here. Probably a miss of the net if I had to get.
Boston Connor
Oh, fake.
Pat McAfee
Oh.
AJ Hawk
Oh, what a play.
Pat McAfee
That was nice. Hey, they drew that up. That's sneaky fox 97. Obviously they drew up a set piece there. Run over the ball, little distraction. Pass it down to the goal line. Pass it across. Everybody whiffs. Clean up. Goal.
Ty Schmidt
Cheeky toss.
Pat McAfee
That is beautifully. That's Andy Reid with the play call.
Boston Connor
Yeah, it's beautiful. Is is punch on the sideline for them.
AJ Hawk
Connor was actually pissed earlier that a team was running a set play this early in the tournament. You got to save those things for later.
Pat McAfee
Stinky Fox is just that.
Boston Connor
It's a bold move though, you know, like when. When Concave FC runs into them in the finals.
Pat McAfee
We know their play.
Boston Connor
You're going to know the set piece there. Roll.
Pat McAfee
Well, it doesn't matter if you know the plays you got to execute is what they say in football. Whenever people knows everybody's plays. You know, you talk about Things that don't make sense, like Johnny Smith maybe getting traded to Pittsburgh Steelers, even though hey would be cool if it happened.
AJ Hawk
Great.
Pat McAfee
How about a punter squatting over £700? You know, there's conversations about punters lifting and they'll be doing bench and they'll be like, well, what do you need your arms for? They'll be doing like upper body, you know, be like, oh, that's not helping you. What does that do? Kick a ball. Squatting, I think is a good thing to be able to be great at if you're a punter or a kicker. And Ethan Evans of the Los Angeles rams squatting over £700.
Darius Butler
What?
Pat McAfee
In OTAs? 705. This man's Instagram is just a series of posts showcasing him in a weight room. You're talking about a gym rat that happens to be a punter who had 55% of his punts inside the 20 last year. I think it was the highest, one of the highest in the NFL. You're talking about an absolute beast on the field of punting and an absolute warrior in the weight room. AJ,705 pound squat. Not with one of those soft bars either. He's putting that thing on his spine, taking it down to the ground and bringing it back up to the Lord.
Seamus
I mean, take it to the Lord.
Pat McAfee
You're right.
Seamus
That was, I've been paying close attention to make sure he doesn't have that little, little, little pad on the board. If you want to, that's okay. I understand everybody's built differently, different situation. But for a punter, for any player to do this is unbelievable. But yeah, for a punter. Yeah, I love it.
Pat McAfee
I think, I don't think you're letting a lot of people do £700 in the NFL. That's what a lot of people don't talk about. Yeah, like college. I was very lucky to have coach Mike Barwis as my strength coach at West Virginia University. Yes, he is a beast. He is going to work your horror. You're going to be lifting a lot, you're going to be running a lot. And I think there's a lot of development that happens in college. You see guys gain like 50, 60 pounds of muscle over like a three, four year period when you're put on protein, you're put on a diet, you're put on a workout plan, you're put on a schedule, you're put on a vision basically of what your body can be. And then you go in there and I mean, you get your ass kicked in these gyms, it's the worst workouts, hardest workouts of all time. I think everybody would agree with that. But it obviously showcases in the development of your body, body. Then when you get to the NFL, it's not really more about developing your body. It's about like how do we make your body the best, how do we save it to be on Sunday? And you like kind of taper off. I don't know how many people are squatting 700 pounds in the NFL. I don't think they're letting you do it. I don't think Ethan Evans said feed me all of it. And that's why punters are both different D bucks.
Darius Butler
That's impressive. I've never seen that, especially from a punter in an NFL weight room. To your point. Now going to college, to your point, those strength and conditioning programs, strength conditioning, coaches, I think those are probably the most important people in the building. When you bring these 17, 18 year old kids and kind of turn them to grown ass. Man, I put on £24 in college. Working, eating, doing all that shit. Shout out coach Martin recipes. But those are very, very important people. But to see this until your point, first thing we're looking for now, 20, 25, what type of bars are you using? And then as an athlete athlete, what kind of depth is he getting when.
I
He'S doing his squad?
Darius Butler
So yeah, getting that depth, getting it up, that is very, very impressive.
Pat McAfee
Steve Weatherford, obviously a man that wouldn't be scared to do this show. Chance so jacked Steve Weatherford, he's like a bodybuilder.
Seamus
Honestly, how big and ripped he is.
Pat McAfee
And he has been for like 20 years straight. Yeah. Just always ripped off.
Seamus
He's on the COVID of Muscle and Fitness I believe at one point.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. He did the Van Damme split.
Ty Schmidt
Oh, hell yes.
Pat McAfee
He also had had six punts inside of 20, I think. In a Super Bowl.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, Pretty damn.
Pat McAfee
Which is like a Super bowl rack. I think like four of them were inside the ten.
Seamus
Nice.
Pat McAfee
Absolutely, John.
Darius Butler
We love that.
Pat McAfee
Yes, we do. Yes we do. As we are live from Cary, North Carolina. Sneaky Fox 97. Oh, I like that. Little energy, a little juice here from the crowd. Very easily accessible to come watch anything here. It's very well put together. The TST people deserve a lot of praise. Yeah, I mean they do a great job.
Boston Connor
Perfect place to do everything too.
Pat McAfee
And I don't think they're like making money.
Seamus
Oh, stand over top of a guy when he's down.
Pat McAfee
I think they're investing completely in the tournament.
Boston Connor
It's awesome.
Pat McAfee
Like, they want it to be very well.
Ty Schmidt
I mean, it's grown big time, year over year, hasn't it?
Pat McAfee
Yes, I think it has. And also the way the house, the hotels, the housing, the restaurants, the way everything is set up perfect.
Boston Connor
The stadiums are super nice. Like it is nice in here, of course, the field and everything, but. But where you can sit and stuff like that.
Pat McAfee
I don't think you're allowed to kick a goal. Kick within the box. I mean, we got a penalty. We got a penalty for it almost in the first game. A warning. They're letting them do it. I mean, what.
Ty Schmidt
Rules are rules now they know neither one of these teams is probably going to win the tournament, so I think they're just kind of letting them run.
Pat McAfee
You want to talk about rules real quick? Let's talk about a pitcher having a team that doesn't play by the rules. If you're a great pitcher and you damn near shut out the other team and you pitch the whole fucking game, you deserve to win. That's the rules.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, those are the rules.
Pat McAfee
That's what baseball is founded upon. The rules have been broken multiple times here for Paul Skeens. Ty, what the hell is going on here? How does this happen?
Ty Schmidt
We've talked about this ad nauseam, okay? This guy is a generational talent. And for whatever reason, the Pirates this off season, when you look at kind of the makeup of their division, they had unbelievable, unbelievable pitching staff. If you, if they would have went out and just spent a little bit of money on offense. Just a little bit.
Pat McAfee
Just somebody that can hit.
Ty Schmidt
Exactly. Just a couple.
Pat McAfee
How many people do you need that can actually hit? Two people, three people?
Ty Schmidt
Well, that's the thing is, like, they're an MLB baseball.
Pat McAfee
They have one.
Ty Schmidt
So everyone can hit. But you need a guy who really can hit, who can drive runners in when people are on base. Like they just. And now I haven't looked recently. Diggs might be able to speak to this a little bit, you know, know better. But like maybe a month and a half ago, you looked at the Pirates opening their roster, their, their starting nine. They had like seven guys batting at like 205 or below, which is just like it's bush league. That's not. That's not Major League baseball. So you got a guy like Paul Skeens who goes out and throws eight innings, gives up three hits, one run. Like you win that game 99 times out of 100 or 95.
Pat McAfee
Five times out of 98 now.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, exactly. And this has happened to him multiple times. Several times this year. He's like the first pitcher since, you know, like the 1900s or. Or whenever it's 1901, 1901, to have it happen twice in a season.
Pat McAfee
So it's like, that's a long time ago.
Ty Schmidt
Exactly. So, like, what more can this guy do? This guy can't do anything else.
Pat McAfee
1901. That is so long ago.
AJ Hawk
They have like four pitchers in the top 25 of ERA. So it's. Yeah, it's. I mean, it's really all. All about the bats. They have guys that can hit, kutch hits, o' Neill, Cruz hits, Reynolds, like, but they never. It's never all the same kind. Like, I think they lead the league in runners left in scoring position, which you cannot do in baseball. It's sad because it's basically just, you know, another year wasted of his career.
Pat McAfee
A lot of people talking about, why are we talking about baseball? MLB viewership up 10% across all platforms.
Boston Connor
How about that?
Pat McAfee
Every network, it's on Fox, espn, I assume whatever digital stuff they're doing, it's up. Shohei Otani, megastar playing well. Aaron Judge, megastar playing well. Paul Skeens, megastar playing well.
Boston Connor
And losing. So it doesn't really count.
AJ Hawk
First stallion to win 20 or lose 25 games.
Pat McAfee
Good for baseball, though.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, legit.
Pat McAfee
I think it's a great sport. Whenever your stars play well and whenever you deliver a product that is watchable, you can have success. If your stars don't play well, nobody cares. Like, a lot of people say, like, why do you only talk about this guy or this guy? It's this guy. It's like, well, that's the only people that really matter. And if they're playing well, everybody will watch the whole damn league. Baseball's that way. We'll continue here from Carrie. We'll be back tomorrow. Be a friend. Tell a friend something nice. But the baseball stars playing well is a big deal. That's the most important part of the entire thing. Because if you had nobody's playing great, it's great. And those nobodies become stars. I agree. But the people that are your current superstars, if they are playing well, people will be more interested. And Aaron Judge and Shohei are holding it down for baseball.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, absolutely. And you have teams in massive markets. You know, obviously we had Yankees, Dodgers in the World Series last year. They're two of the best teams in baseball. This year you have a team like the Cubs who has a rabid fan base not just in the Midwest, but everywhere. Like, they're unbelievable. But yeah, it comes down to that. You have two generations generational talents in Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani. And they're both having, you know, career years up to this point. And then even, you know, a guy like Jack Caglion, who we talked with Jeff Passon about like that kind of next star that's coming up who can take a team like the Royals who is in a small market, who is is good. But you know, like they're really not getting the national spotlight. When you get a guy like that and you put him in the same conversation as a guy like a Judge or an Ohtani, like it's great for baseball. So they're in a good spot.
Pat McAfee
Judge Ohtani or Bo Jackson, This Jack Caglio.
Ty Schmidt
Yep.
Pat McAfee
Jackie Caglion, see from Florida, his first roles player since Bo Jackson to debut in the same year you get drafted. I mean, you talk about being in the same conversation as Aaron Judge. Shohei, you're in a conversation with Bo Jackson as well. That's good for baseball. Hopefully he lives up to the hype. Once again, Star has to play well. I assume he will.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, absolutely. And this is super rare. It is in baseball. You know, you see it with pitchers a little bit more because those Guys can kind of dictate the game. And like a guy like Skeens, if you're throwing 100 plus miles an hour, like you're probably ready to go to the majors and pitch against major league hitting and then. And you'll kind of just figure it out over the course of a season or, you know, something like that. They talk about hitting, how it's like the jump from being a great college hitter to even going to the minor leagues where you have all these guys who, whether they're hurt and they're down, you know, for a double A team or a triple A team, like the jump in competition is just so extreme. And you look at his numbers, what he's done in double A and triple, he's dominated every. Every jump up that he's. He's been at, so. So yeah, we'll see if he can do it with the big league club. And I think most people assume that he's gonna, you know, he's not gonna get sent back down right away. He's gonna be here to stay, which is huge.
Pat McAfee
Just had some hot beer over here.
AJ Hawk
Bad beers.
Ty Schmidt
Nothing better.
Pat McAfee
That was tough.
Boston Connor
Yeah, it's tough.
Seamus
Couple things.
Boston Connor
Finish mine. It was piping off.
Pat McAfee
Oh, my God. I was. Yeah. You talking about Jack Keg Leon? Yeah. I think he's gonna do great things for baseball. I think baseball is going to continue to do great things. I think my favorite thing that we have not talked about yet, yet is, is the fact that Saquon Barkley was strapped up to wire. Are we doing a moment of silence? Yes. What happened is a moment of silence.
Boston Connor
I don't know. I see people sitting down.
Ty Schmidt
Halftime.
Boston Connor
Just half.
Pat McAfee
Just halftime.
Ty Schmidt
Okay.
Boston Connor
No moment of silence.
AJ Hawk
Can never be too careful.
Pat McAfee
I didn't think we didn't wiener whistle or whatever. Good job.
Boston Connor
Like to be an Oscar.
Pat McAfee
My wiener. We just trying to pay our respect. Die.
Darius Butler
We ready? We were ready.
Pat McAfee
It was uncomfortably quiet, wasn't it? And it came after an announcement. I could.
Darius Butler
He's too guy a steady with a head of the chest too.
Pat McAfee
So was I. Yeah, me too. Took a hat off. Took towel off. Saquon Barkley, though, was shooting for the Madden cover and they had him wired up. He was like. He was a stunt action movie star jumping up over an actor who ran under him no less than 50 to 60 times. Him getting used to coming back down to earth was obviously something. But Saquon Barkley getting recognized for this filthy, disgusting, so creative, innovative and dumbass play is a beautiful thing. Debug. I like that he even tried it. We need more of that. Yeah.
Darius Butler
This move kind of captured everybody. Whether you were a fan of football or not, never see it. Saquon Barkley, he's a, he's a special, special talent. Had an MVP caliber year all the way to the super bowl run. But everybody will remember this moment. LeBron, when he came, came on, he pointed out the point that he had on his shoes, his cleats that we didn't even know at the time. So just phenomenal moment. And I love that it made it to the COVID of Madden. That was truly an iconic moment. Everyone will always remember now the moment that when I first saw this video, I saw a lot of people thought, you know, he wasn't strapped up. It's like, oh my God, this guy's hops levitating a lot of people. But I'm interested in how many times he had to actually jump up and land a T200 photo shoot.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, they might have had it the first or second time, but we need to do it for two to three more hours, four more hours.
AJ Hawk
Run these hours.
Darius Butler
Was this the actual defender?
Boston Connor
Yeah, yeah, that was him.
Ty Schmidt
Yep.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Darius Butler
Do a show up for that from the js.
Seamus
Yeah, I bet, I bet they paid him pretty well.
Darius Butler
Okay.
Seamus
I would, I would have said no. And then they throw you, throw you.
Pat McAfee
A number and say, was it actually him?
Boston Connor
No, it wasn't his.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Okay. All right. Because I think AJ did not know if it was. Okay, good. Yeah, I don't, I don't believe Max helmet on him. Oh yeah, just black helmet. Yep.
Boston Connor
During mini camp we saw Travis Hunter catching those balls. So if you go to Madden cover to get jumped over, you're probably getting cut. That's just my assumption.
Pat McAfee
I don't know.
Boston Connor
Maybe not.
Seamus
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
All right, let's get the hell out of here. We got a game at 6:30. Conceifa SC.
Ty Schmidt
We take on Athletic, Real Athletico, Atletico Miami Athletico, Florida.
Boston Connor
Yeah, ATHLETICO Nailed it. 6:30 on ESPNU and ESPN Plus.
Pat McAfee
ESPNU and ESPN Plus.
AJ Hawk
You're on the U. I didn't know.
Pat McAfee
It was on the U.
Boston Connor
You guys are on the U tonight. That's right.
Pat McAfee
Oh, let's begin. Had a couple beers here in the afternoon. Maybe wrap up tonight. Maybe put the boots, maybe have a couple more.
Ty Schmidt
Getting the boots out.
AJ Hawk
Little swig lube.
Pat McAfee
No, I got a lower body, an upper body. We all know that.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
And I got a lung, brain thing going on.
Boston Connor
Yeah. Very serious.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. My lungs blow up when my brains think I'm tired.
Boston Connor
Te.
Pat McAfee
So I can't run far enough.
AJ Hawk
I know you do have an upper and a lower and a. And a lung brain thing. Is it tough standing over there?
Pat McAfee
No, no, not at all.
Paddy Maroon
No, it's pretty good.
AJ Hawk
How about Jeff Cameron? Did it seem like he was.
Pat McAfee
I think we. I think we had a good time. I genuinely think we had a good. Because we were trying to figure out. Because we had the possession for so long, it was like legitimate conversation about, like, how do we break it. Started having, like, hockey combos, like, or basketball conversations. Need somebody to drive, drag somebody out and then bang, we take advantage of. So that's what we were trying to figure it out. And so this crew over here really looks good, boys.
AJ Hawk
They're doing a lot.
Pat McAfee
Boys, you look good. I don't think that's the way to get to them. Where they at, Foxy? They were on the camera.
Boston Connor
Not down there. They're talking about. Yeah, he's talking about behind.
Pat McAfee
They're on the camera.
Darius Butler
Boom.
AJ Hawk
Fat shot.
Pat McAfee
Oh, they're gone. You bullied them out. Yep. Foxy bullied them out. There they are. There they are. There's the boys. Boys, good pipes. You've been working on the arms.
Paddy Maroon
Is that Robo?
Pat McAfee
Yeah, Concave for sure.
Ty Schmidt
Robo would dummy those two.
Darius Butler
Moving merch.
Boston Connor
Hey, man.
Pat McAfee
6:30 real. Atletico cannot wait to see the boys in our second game. We are currently undefeated. Yes. Will that continue? I think so. A lot of people asking if I'm gonna play. I don't know why I should take any minutes away from anybody on our team. With that being said, I'll be ready always.
Darius Butler
Just in case I need to see Foss. Put one in the net.
Pat McAfee
Yes. Foss got on the field, ran hard, fouled somebody.
AJ Hawk
Great defensive play.
Pat McAfee
Mox went out of bounds. Foss played hard. He played confident too, which I like.
Seamus
Physical. He was physical.
Darius Butler
Looks great.
Ty Schmidt
If Fossil is in scoring position, Black Boots will find him.
Boston Connor
Always does.
Pat McAfee
That's what Mario does. Yeah, that's a Mario. Look at Fosso with a zoom in.
AJ Hawk
Looks strapped.
Darius Butler
Need. Need to put one.
Boston Connor
Just be on the fields when Led Zeppelin's out there and he'll make it rain.
Pat McAfee
It's not his name. Mani.
Boston Connor
Sure.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
AJ Hawk
But to us, he's Zeppelin.
Ty Schmidt
Led Zeppelin, Jellyflant, Robert Page, Sneaky Fox.
Pat McAfee
Taking on La Mexicana Express right now. I assume you can find this on YouTube. Yes, TST's YouTube. We'll continue to follow along. We're gonna watch all these games. Have a good time here in Carrie, because it is beautiful here. We'll be back here tomorrow. I think Johnny Damon's gonna be on the show tomorrow. You know who else is on the show tomorrow? Who? Wayne Gretzky.
Josie Altidore
Shut up.
Pat McAfee
What? The great one, Wayne Gretzk. Wayne Gretzky's on a show tomorrow. He.
AJ Hawk
If they existed, he would have beat the out of the Kacs too.
Darius Butler
Yes.
Ty Schmidt
Well said, Tony.
Pat McAfee
There's no reason for that. You know who else on the show tomorrow?
Paddy Maroon
Who?
Pat McAfee
We're doing a lot of soccer talk. Clint Dempsey. Wow. Clint Dempsey. Waynel Johnny Damon. We're gonna have a great day here from Carrie and hopefully Conceifa is undefeated at 2 0. Be a friend. Tell a friend. Me tell something nice. It might change the life or anything. Together. 6:30, ESPNU concave. His next game. Team on me. Team on three. One, two, three. Goodbye.
