Pat McAfee
Hello beautiful people and welcome to our humble abode, the Thunderdome on this BA Day, November 4, 2025. This program begins right now. Football is the greatest sport on earth and we're incredibly lucky that on this glorious Tuesday, just like all the other Tuesdays of this season, we are joined by a man who has coached football for 47 years now he's our coach. Ladies and gentlemen, Coach B.A. let's see. Coach, you look fantastic today. I want to let you know everything is vibing, everything is going fantastically. Very unlike the Dallas Cowboys. Nine year NFL vet Darius J. Butler is.
Darius Butler
Yes sir.
Pat McAfee
Now toxic table at Boston Connor and at Ty Schmidt. Just like I said earlier when he came in, this is Darius Butler. Darius Butler is a nine year NFL vet. One of the best brains in the history of football. So incredibly athletic and we haven't seen him in a while. Yeah, you know why? What's that great dad like? Great dad has been since the day that I met him. Most off seasons and summers were spent me following along with his socials with his kids, traveling around, driving around and now they're at the age of playing like competitive sports, I do believe. And his daughter Milan is competing on the high school golf team. And last week you were at a tournament, Yesterday you were at a tournament. How's it going? She's a freshman and it sounds like she has picked up the Darius Butler incredible athletic genes.
Darius Butler
It sounds like she's a dog, she's a worker, she's a grinder. And I didn't expect her out of any of the kids to be the golfer because she hates being outside, she hates bugs, she hates sweating. But she picked up the game and she's been grinding a little more than a year and she went as a freshman. We know how it is going and getting on like a high school team and actually competing with especially something that you haven't been doing in a long time. So freshmen competing on a varsity team and then last week was districts and then this was the regional and this is where the run ended for her freshman season. But she played her best golf against her best competition. So as a dad that makes you proud to see, especially with golf because it's such a game where it's like very much like a kicker or a snapper. Hey, it's your turn. Everybody's watching you, all eyes on you. And I can, you know, I can't understand even how rattling that could be especially for like a high school young girl and all those things. So to see her battle and go out there and grind. And her team, a couple of her teammates will probably advance to states, but it was awesome to be there to see it, you know, to break all the rules. Because as parents, you're not supposed to be able to talk. You're not supposed to be able to help. And I'm like, hey, you know, I can't give away my. My techniques on how I get my communication. You're sending signals, but we got some communication down. So when I'm there, her mom is afraid to break the rules. So it's a little different when I'm there. But it was awesome to be able to watch and obviously miss. Miss being here as well.
Pat McAfee
Now, listen, Florida high school sports. I know what they did to Teddy Bridgewater. Maybe you need to dump everything. Good point, D. Buddy's not sending any signals to his daughter while she is golfing as a freshman in the tournaments. But I would like to let you know we're incredibly pumped for your entire family. I assume it was very emotional over there. We saw the clip of her almost chipping in. That is awesome. I mean, that is absolutely incredible. Good luck. We think sports are a necessity for the development of humans. So the fact that your daughter is obviously getting a chance to compete and she's playing her best at the highest level against her best opponents. Dog excited. And now she takes that into the off season.
Darius Butler
Oh, yeah.
Pat McAfee
And we only get better and better. Coach ba you. It feels like coaches always say they view their team as like their kids and stuff like that, and you have to kind of act as a father figure for a lot of people in a lot of different situations. Whenever you start. Start seeing guys and their kids start to have success, I couldn't even imagine with guys that have played in the league and then their kids are in the league as well, and you're in there, you're a massive piece of that entire process in the entire, like, kind of grand scheme of things.
Coach B.A.
Yeah. I never settled myself as a father figure. I was that cool uncle you want to have a drink with.
Pat McAfee
Okay.
Coach B.A.
Everybody's got that uncle, you know.
Pat McAfee
Yes, they definitely do.
Coach B.A.
And. But yeah, on the right, on the drive range Saturday. Ben Roethlisberger's down there with his son Benjamin, and, oh, yes, that little joker got me good. We gave him a stroke, a hole, and he shot 77. Benjamin.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, yeah, he's.
Coach B.A.
He's won a couple of tournaments already, and. Okay, buddy, I'm getting you next time.
Pat McAfee
I think you drive chip and putt, too. I think he.
Coach B.A.
That's the younger one.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, like winning the Drive. Yeah. I think Roethlisberger's kids are about to blow sticks. I guess he is too, right? Isn't it?
Coach B.A.
Oh, he's a legit. Yeah, he's legit.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. He's also great at talking about ball. I'm happy as hell that Ben Roethlisberger is doing a footballing podcast. Let's talk a little bit about football. Cardinals very good. Last night. Cowboys ass Cowboys immediately make a trade. Jerry Jones are saying, I'm sitting on one in my back pocket. I got one. If I want to make it, if I want to. Now do. Would I rather make a trade for the Dallas Cowboys or hit that honey hole three miles down where I can get that $100 billion worth of natural gas, give me B any time of the day. But since I can get Logan Wilson here, linebacker from the Cincinnati Bengals to the Dallas Cowboys, let's go ahead and make that move. They do that immediately after the loss and you know, a lot of people are saying, Troy Aikman included, they're going to need to do a lot more than just get one player to make this team good. I think there's a of question marks on how the hell the Dallas Cowboys are going to kind of react and how they're going to go forward. We all agree that Dak Prescott's a good player. I think everybody kind of says that. But that team seemingly never really going to get going now. And on the flip side, just a few years back, I was calling for Jacoby Brissette to be mvp, quarterback MVP of the entire league here at Indianapolis. Since his early days, whenever he was a third string quarterback for the New England Patriots, he's always been able to get on the field and spend it. He's always been able to lead. He seemingly always knows what he's supposed to do in every single offensive system that he's ever been in. Whenever he's with the Colts, he was backing up Andrew Luck at one point. He was the one like running the meetings. He is like the guy Bill Parcell is. I think Big Tuna kind of influenced him throughout high school and everything like that. Marvin Harrison Jr. Has a massive day. McBride, their weapon at tight end is scoring a lot of touchdowns. Now that Jacoby Brissette's the quarterback as opposed to when Kyler's the quarterback. There's a lot of those stats coming and Gannon's culture seemingly settling in. They lose three games by like what, two points or something like that? So their record isn't great. Still got nine Games left, obviously in this season, a lot can happen in that. But this Cardinals team might be R. Hey, don't look now. The Arizona Cardinals might not be asked. They might actually be very good football team, especially with Jacoby at quarterback.
Darius Butler
Absolutely. And Dan O. Said it when he was on the show, like, you know, they're better than their record and their 2 and 5 record coming into this game. And we all know in the league we always say, hey, look, you are what your record is. So these games, a lot of times they come down to one driver. They're offensively or defensively. But Jacob Brissette, he can run the ship. He is a starting quarterback in this league. The offense just looks better with him under him, he's fighting a lot. The defense, they can play well. Will Johnson, I thought he made some big time plays. He's been a good rookie. I thought he could have got drafted higher coming out of Michigan, then Simons, the Ohio State Buckeye had that. A good rip out at the end of the game. But their physical team, Gannon's culture is coming along. You see how he dealt with the, the off the field thing with the running back. I think he took ownership. This team is going the right way. That's a tough division. It's a tough division. Very, very, very good division. So we'll see how far they can go this season. But they have weapons on the outside. Marvin Harrison Jr. Came along. McBride is best tight ends in the National Football League. So yeah, they can roll.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, they can definitely roll. And, and speaking of that, here's some Hembo stats. Lease time trailing this season. Seahawks by an hour. So, you know, Cardinals our 30. So packers are 50, Rams R56. And look at the records versus the Cardinals. That's why everybody was so like kind of excited to see if they could put it together. Jacobe is their quarterback. They certainly look like they're a real team. And then on the other side, Cowboys just. Are they ever going to be able to get it right? BA what's your takeaway from last night? Is it more about the Cardinal, about the Cowboys in your eyes?
Coach B.A.
I thought it was more about the Cardinals. They've been so close and you know, talked to some people out there. Last week, we did an interview. I said, just make a damn play. All they need is one guy to make. They lost what, three games on a field goal? Last play of the game.
Pat McAfee
Yep.
Coach B.A.
In their division, which is maybe one of the toughest divisions. And I think what Jacobe preset, he's calmed them down and Their defense is playing lights out. Yeah. I think the Cardinals can really make a move.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Why not the Cardinals? And congrats to Baywell. Yeah.
Coach B.A.
Yeah.
Don Tone
Unbelievable.
Pat McAfee
This couple years ago and I mean even your record now. So I don't even want to act like life is great right now. It certainly can't be. But just a couple years back, they're getting F minus. F minus. F minus F minus F minus F on everything in the building. Okay. Team was still able to win somehow and still able to be good whenever BA Was there and a couple different errors. But then they were just like, we pay a quarterback, we put a clause in there. They can't play video games. Certain amount, hour. It's like, okay, whoa, what's going on here? And then, you know, they're in a division that's very good. And then they would win some games and then inevitably lose a lot more games. And it's like it felt like they were potentially going to be in just a spin cycle. We got a BS or no BS with BA later that's going to maybe answer that question. Like, what does he think ownership and what does he think the Cardinals are going to do going forward? Because the stats are getting loud.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Okay. Stats. Get. Look at them both losing records. Oh, losing records. Both of them. Got it. But points per game, 25.7 versus 18.8. That's. That's a touchdown, brother.
Ty Schmidt
A full touchdown.
Pat McAfee
That's a full touchdown in yards per game. He go ahead and put that math together too. That's about 70. That's almost full football field. So if it's a touchback, you're scoring a touchdown there. That's another touchdown right there in yards per game. So. So Jacoby Brissett has certainly looked good with the Arizona Cardinals. They have a losing record. Who knows what they are going forward. What we do know is today, it's trade deadline day.
Ty Schmidt
That's right.
Coach B.A.
Whoa.
Pat McAfee
4:00Pm today, teams have an opportunity to say, we are a good team. We want to be a great team. Let's go get the one missing piece. Most recently, Jacoby Myers traded from the Raiders to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Congrats to the Jacksonville Jaguars making moves here at the trade deadline to try to make their team even better. That has to feel good if you are a Jacksonville Jaguars fan. Jacoby Myers coming from the Raiders. Brian Thomas Jr. Number one wide receiver, dealing with a little bit of an injury. Travis Hunter, obviously another wide receiver for their team currently on ir. So Jacksonville Jaguars were a little bit light in the wide receiver department. They try to make a play. Adam Schefter broke that news. I believe he'll be joining us here in a minute. Ladies and gentlemen, senior NFL insider at espn, Adam Schefter, thank you for joining us. This is kind of going to be the thing today. We will just cold facetime you as the trades come through your Twitter account, tell us about the Jacoby Myers trade. And how did everybody know Jacoby was on the market?
Adam Schefter
Well, he had asked for a trade earlier in the season, Pat, and the Raiders knew that he was on an expiring contract set to expire after this year. So when Jacksonville stepped up and offered a fourth and sixth round pick, makes sense for a Raiders team that's going to want draft capital to go out and move him for that particular term. Jacksonville headed into today with 13 draft picks. Even after this match move and trading their one to Cleveland last April, they still have 11 draft picks in the 2026 NFL Draft. And so Jacksonville wanted to show off the wide receiver position. We've got Travis Hunter on IR with the knee injury. He's out definitely at least three more weeks, quite possibly longer. And then you also have Brian Thomas, their wide receiver. He suffered a low grade high angle spring. Now he thinks he might be able to play this week, but you don't know. And they want to do everything they can.
Pat McAfee
Hey, you're covering the speaker. You're covering the speaker. I think you're covering.
Adam Schefter
I'm trying to figure out what's best. The speaker or the average.
Pat McAfee
The speaker we'd like to be able to hear. You can't cover. You're covering a speaker. I think again, right now you got to leave the speaker open so we can hear the voice go into it. You were kind of cutting into it. You were talking about the injuries around Jacksonville there. Whenever you, you kind of cut apart Kobe, Myers, good, good. Fill in for them for that particular department. And Jacoby Myers, you said ask for a trade. Were there more people interested, more teams interested? And how indicative is that of the rest of the day for some of the teams that maybe didn't get Jacoby Myers?
Adam Schefter
Well, the one team that also called on him. How do I get myself in the picture?
Ty Schmidt
Here we go.
Adam Schefter
The one team figured out was Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh expressed some interest in Jacoby Myers, but obviously Jacksonville really stepped up to get something done here. Those are the two teams I think that really wanted to add Myers to the roster. I know Buffalo has been mentioned, but Buffalo did not check in on Jacoby Myers to my understanding. They were interested in other players, Jacksonville, like I said, Travis Hunter out with the knee injury. Brian Thomas Jr. Has a low grade high ankle sprain. He thinks he could play Sunday. So we'll see how that works out for them. But they want to give Trevor Lawrence as many weapons as possible. This team in position to make the playoffs. So they add Jacoby Myers today.
Pat McAfee
You're the man. We appreciate you. We'll follow along with your Twitter account as trade deadline looms. Three hours and 48 minutes from now, Ladies and gentlemen, Adam Schefter about to be 47. I guess that was a really good hit by Adam Schefter.
Don Tone
One of the best.
Pat McAfee
But that's what trade deadline day is. We have no idea what's going to happen. I assume there's some things that are about to come out of left field even for Adam Schefter, because any trade is possible. Yesterday we put this graphic up about the potential trade candidates. Jacoby Myers is on there and the possible buyers. We had Jacksonville Jaguars on there. Yeah. So, I mean, if you put more than half the league on there and you're going to hit. We did.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
So I'm pretty. I'm pretty proud about that. Way to go. Debone, debone. Piece and some things together. Any trade being possible is fascinating. BA Whenever you're a coach and you know your team's close and you see your team make a play and they trade for a player, how do you go about handling, introducing guy to team? For instance, Christian McCaffrey was traded from the Panthers to the 49ers at the trade deadline, middle of the season. 49ers. Pretty good team. Okay. Pretty good team. Christian McCaffrey gets there. Kyle Shanahan comes out very openly and says, hey, this is Christian McCaffrey's team. We're going to give him the ball in the backfield. We're going to throw it to him. We're going to let him throw the ball. They do that immediately. If you get one of these weapons, what is it like for a coach trying to make sure that person feels comfortable while also not maybe ruffling any feathers with the locker room that you currently have? Yeah.
Coach B.A.
And most of the time it's because of injuries, you know, and you got a good football team, you got a chance maybe to get into the dance so one guy can make the difference and he really don't have to say much. The guys are excited. They, hey, they're pumped. We made a move. Coach believes in us. We think we can win this thing. One missing piece Embrace this guy. Let's get him going in our system right away. Let him fill our culture right away, and let's roll.
Pat McAfee
Did you guys make any big trades? I mean, obviously the Pittsburgh Steelers weren't really known for doing that. During the trade deadline, whenever you were there, Colts, we traded. Were you here for the Trent Richardson trade? No, that was Trent Richardson. Good guy, Trent Richard was nice to me. Jim Ursay was tweeting, okay, rest in peace. Love, Jim. Okay, Jim's right here.
Darius Butler
Shoot, Jim.
Pat McAfee
We do. Daughters are kicking a lot of ass. Oh, yeah. Like, yes, the big three are kicking ass right now, obviously, so there's none of that. But we do miss. Jim was tweeting leading up to that trade about like earth shattering trade coming, and we're like, holy hell. Got a pretty good team here. I'm excited to see what we do. Going to change football, basically. He's tweeting, he's hyping this up, and this never really happened with the Colts. And then all of a sudden, it's Trent Richardson for a first round. We give up a first round pick for Trent Richardson. I think boom. Heron was our running back at the time. He was doing boom, boom. The crowd was starting to say boom. Like there was. He was starting to, like, catch on a gimmick. Like, boom. Was actually becoming like a guy. And then all of a sudden we traded for Trent Richardson. Everybody's like, okay, all right, we're going to get Trent Richardson.
Don Tone
Okay.
Pat McAfee
Okay, there's going to be a thing. And then it felt like the coaches felt obligated to like, force feed him, if that makes sense. Like that. That it was almost like, okay, he's worth a number one. I think we had Ahmad Bradshaw, too. That.
Darius Butler
No, Bradshaw came after we met Vic Ballard.
Pat McAfee
Yes.
Darius Butler
I don't know if he had started his run yet, but he was drafted in that same luck draft class. But yeah, Trent Richardson was what, the third pick in that same draft?
Pat McAfee
Yeah, it was a big. Here's the tweet. Bruce found it from Jim Ursay. Serious trade winds swirling. We're talking to. We're talking giving up high pick for serious vet slash, slash starter. These deals often crumble and don't reach completion. These times, like, he was selling. He had like four of them. He was like, really talking about how big it was coming. So we were kind of excited. Like, we were pretty. I was very excited. I'm like, who's. This is incredible. I can't wait to see who my new teammate is. And then Trent Richardson comes in. He Was like, Trent was cool. Trent was nice. I don't. I don't know if he felt as comfortable with coming into our locker room as maybe other places. I think, you know, it was like an interesting time. I don't know.
Don Tone
He told a story about that, actually, Trent Richardson did, about how that's kind of like when he lost his love for football was when he was traded from Cleveland to Indy because he just always assumed, like, I'm always going to be a Cleveland Brown. I was a top five pick. Like, this is my home, just like Alabama. And he said that's when he realized, you know, the NFL is a business versus what he was used to.
Pat McAfee
He can get a bit jaded whenever it's, we don't want you anymore. But you would hope that the spin is like, well, this team loves you so much, so you come there and I don't know how those conversations went or whatever, but obviously with Jim Mercy tweeting about it was going to be big. But, yeah, you could. You could sense that that kind of was. And you know, he was once again, Trent was always cool to me. I felt like we had good relationship, but it went how it went here. And we had a very. We had a good team. Like, we had a. A good team and, and how we were rolling there. But I remember thinking to myself, it would be so sweet if we did get like a game wrecker. Yeah, like Randy Moss gets tricked, you know, in the middle of season. Everybody in new. We are random. Moss, like, that type of move could happen today for an entire team, an entire building, an entire fan base. The Titans traded edge rusher Draymond Jones to the Ravens for a conditional fifth round pick, per sources. Now congratulations to the Ravens making a play. Coach Ba, what are your thoughts on edge rusher Draymond Jones going from the Titans, who, you know, we all kind of see it. We all kind of see what's happening with them this year. Although we believe Cam Ward's a guy. They've already fired their coach. They're in the middle of a transition era. And then Baltimore Ravens are trying to go on a run here late. What do you think the addition of Draymond does for the Baltimore Ravens?
Coach B.A.
Oh, I think it's huge because their pass rush has been inept at best. And this guy can rush the passer and he's going to be out. Use Kyle Van different ways. He's such a multiple. He could play so many multiple spots and you get him on the edge. Maybe Kyle rushing on the weakest link in the offensive line, I. I think they'll do a hell of a job with him, and he's going to be a big upgrade for him.
Pat McAfee
Here's the Ravens edge rusher stats from Hembo here this season for the ends and outside linebackers. 39 pressures, that's fewest. Six sacks, that's 28th out of 32. 19 quarterback hits, that's 27. Everybody's talking about how that defense is. Well, whenever you can't get to the quarterback and whenever you can't apply any pressure at all, it's going to be hard to do anything else. You know, you look at the defenses that are good, their front four very good. The teams that aren't good on defense, normally front four not that good. Usually have to steal or rob Peter to pay. Paul, whenever you're front four aren't great. You got to take somebody from somewhere else and kind of shore that up before anything else. Whenever you take somebody from somewhere else, guess what's missing now? Something from somewhere else. So whenever you talk about the best defenses, getting your trenches figured out is the most important part of it all.
Don Tone
Yeah. And it feels like you can't have too many pass rushers or offensive linemen. Like, no matter what, when it comes to playoffs, there's always a team that's there that you know is banged up on o line or pass rusher. And it seems to be the Achilles heel for a lot of playoff teams once they get there. Like they traded one of their guys. Oh, Baltimore did To the Chargers. So it kind of feels like a replacement there. But I mean, this is one of those dudes who as a Patriots fan who played Tennessee. He was one of their standout players for sure.
Pat McAfee
He has sick necklace too. I like the moxie and the swag will fit in that Baltimore locker room. I do believe your thoughts.
Darius Butler
I'm right there with you. It always starts with up front. You saw yesterday when the Eagles traded for Jalen Phillips, like when they went on that run and getting Brandy Graham back, that'll help too. But when they went on that run, it started with those guys up front. Whenever you can rush forward and create havoc in that backfield for in the run game and in the past game, it helps the DBs out tremendously. So that's always a big boost, he said.
Pat McAfee
Conditional fifth rounder. We're getting more details. Albert Breer says the condition on the Ravens Titans trade if Draymond Jones has at least two sacks over the rest of the regular season and Baltimore makes the playoffs, Tennessee gets a Fourth round pick rather than a fifth round pick. These are all part negotiations. Well, if he's really good for you guys and you guys turning around, you guys are on.500. We'll turn into a fourth runner deal. Let's go ahead and make that happen. Now, if they're ass and they don't lose and don't make the playoffs, obviously the Baltimore Ravens have an easier deal than the Tennessee Titans. Now, are the Ravens going to be able to go on a run? That is the question. Are the Cardinals going to be able to go on a run? That is the question. And are the Dallas Cowboys dead? Okay, Dallas Cowboys, bring in Mr. Wilson at linebacker, who is their linebacking core currently there for Dallas.
Darius Butler
Kenneth Murray has been their middle linebacker. Came over from the Charger, former Oklahoma Sooner. He can run sideline to sideline. Guy can be a little light in the ass at times. You know, he can struggle downhill. Overshone. I think his window opened up for him to get back healthy and get back in the lineup for them as well. But Logan Wilson, he's a good player now. He fell out of good graces in Cincinnati. We don't know what really went on behind closed doors. Maybe you wanted some younger players, maybe some different players in the system, but he was the guy for Lou and Romo's defense for that run, the AFC championship run. And over the last five and a half years, he leads all middle lineback. You see it right here on this shefty tweet with 11 interceptions. So he can get his hands on the ball, make plays, smart guy, can get guys lined up. I'm sure he won't have a problem picking up this defense. Obviously he won't fix everything in Dallas. It'll be a group effort, but yeah, he's a good player. To add to your core.
Pat McAfee
Are they dead? Donner and Dallas? You know, Jerry's coming out and saying, hey, you call me Jerry Kardashian, you know, because I'm not scared to just make sure we're the topic of conversation. Now, does that necessarily mean we can't win games? No, I'm not saying that, but we are. I'm gonna make sure we are certainly in the middle of controversy if needs be. You're gonna be talking about my team now. The entire conversation following that. It's like Jerry's telling the truth now. Jerry's at the stage of life where he's just gonna go ahead and let me go ahead and give you guys my actual feelings and my actual thoughts. Did the documentary on the Red carpet of the documentary. He said, I'll stir some up. Don't you worry about that. Now he follows up even more with Stephen A. Yesterday. Yesterday saying, you know, I'm always at we topic of conversation, even if we're not. Guess what we're about to be, because it's something I'm about to do. That's the business that you're in, Mr. Stephen A. And that's also the business that I'm in, Mr. Stephen A. Is that conducive to winning NFL games where everybody says it's already hard enough? You know, they talk about distractions. Players get labeled a distraction. Players get labeled a distraction. This person, distraction. Don't let him in your locker room. Get them out of the league. What he brings is too much. Jerry Jones is actually coming out saying, I am a distraction. A very, very, very, very, very, very expensive distraction at all times. Is it a bad thing that Jerry thinks this way, or do you think it's okay as long as the football side of it is kind of separated from the state, if that makes sense?
Coach B.A.
Yeah, I think everybody in Dallas is used to it. You know, it's. That show's been going on for a long time, and they're used to the. To the drama and everything. Yeah, as long as they're talking about us, good or bad, as long as they're talking about us, we're good.
Pat McAfee
Is that good for football?
Coach B.A.
I think so, but it's not necessarily good for their football team. Logan Wilson, two years ago. Logan Wilson. Hell of a trade, this Logan Wilson. I'm not sure he even helps.
Pat McAfee
Well, Jerry's the gm. So you think Jerry maybe has lost his fastball here as the general manager, speaking so openly about being a distraction to his own team that I guess he owns as well. Owner Jerry might be getting in the way of managing Jerry by the shit the owner wants to, you know, because I think GMs and coaches might have disagreements with the owner. Owners, okay? Ms. Blackburn over there in Cincinnati said, these players just got to take the deals. Okay? So then the gm, Duke Toggleman's probably like, why are we. That is not the right thing to say. There's always disagreements, I think, between GMs and owners because of something, you know, that. That's just the most recent one that pops in my mind right now. I wonder if GM Jerry ever sits down and goes, God, this owner Jerry.
Ty Schmidt
The hell's he doing?
Pat McAfee
He cannot help us. He cannot help us. He's in the way all the time. And I think Dallas Cowboys fans are saying the same thing. And I think my favorite part of it all, this entire evolution of how people view Jerry Jones as general manager of the Dallas Cowboys. I think we all agree that he's not doing that, right? We know that that's just a fictitious title. Is that what we're saying? I think he has owner saying stuff, but he's not doing day to day GM stuff.
Ty Schmidt
No, he's.
Pat McAfee
So Stephen Jones is doing the phone calls every single day. I assume his family's taking. He was standing on a honey hole three miles underneath his cowboy boots that he was wearing talking to Wall Street Journal. You think I care about the Dallas defense? I'm standing above $100 billion. I need to get my pipes three miles deep here because nobody else's pops can get that deep. I'm spending $1 billion on this, on this rig that will turn into a mammal that'll and cough this natural gas out at $100 billion rate. So it's like I think he's got other people doing the day to day shit. And then owner Jerry comes in and says, I'm not paying money. Maka. Me and Micah already have a deal. Now the gm, especially with a deal with Micah would have to consult with the owner anyways. So I think he's having the same say that most owners have where if they don't want something to happen, it's not going to happen. If they want something to happen, it's going to happen. But I think the day to day shit's moved on from him in my eyes, just from outside looking in.
Ty Schmidt
Well, and if you just look at it like based on all the stuff you just said and then, you know, whether it's right or not or true. I guess you read the tea leaves and they're talking about like, well, Dallas is interested in Bradley Chubb. Like there are all these people around the league, all these players that they're allegedly calling about and trying to help sh up the defense. Like if that is true, then like Jerry, if he is the acting gm, like he would have to be in his office phone calls. Exactly. All the time. And I think you, you talk about the Parsons stuff. I think that might have been like the breaking point. Like it melted something in his brain because he just like he, this guy was supposed to wear the star his entire career. We had a handshake deal. He was going to be, you know, the captain of our defense moving on. Because like even now, I mean how we're, we're, how, how far removed from that Are we. And he's talking with Stephen A. And it's. It still comes back. That's. That's. I think we have the clip of what he said about it one time.
Coach B.A.
Not even in the hottest of days.
Pat McAfee
And two days in August in Texas.
Coach B.A.
Between 11 in the morning or when.
Pat McAfee
They quit practicing or 4 in the afternoon, it's hot.
Coach B.A.
Did I never see any one of these two go over and lay on a damn training table in front of a million people?
Pat McAfee
This is not fair.
Coach B.A.
Mike is not here. I want to tell you something.
Pat McAfee
I really think a lot of Michael Parsons.
Coach B.A.
And it wasn't a question of wanting him on the team, but to anoint.
Pat McAfee
Him in terms of that and everybody else looking at him, you better. You better have some thinking. Is he going to be a made man for the Dallas Cowboys? I see this guy laying over the training table. Well, what the hell is he problem staying up down there. I never seen these men made cowboys. Okay, you think of the Cowboys, who you think? Michael Irvin. Okay, you think he's laying over a training table? Yeah, right. He's on all fours, on the side, whenever. He's not even playing. That is who he is. You think about Emmett Smith. You think Emmett Smith is ever laying down with a. He said with a million people with their eyes on the star. They're walking our brand. And we got our guy laid out on the table. He ain't gonna be a made cowboy. Never in my mind. And so maybe it was made up through certain different decisions or certain different happenings or maybe Jerry found all these things. Looking back once he felt disrespected by my. Yeah, this guy. I knew he wasn't a good. What did he do? And then his kid goes, remember he laid up training table? I do remember that.
Don Tone
That was it.
Pat McAfee
What did he do? He also didn't throw his shit away. Yep. Left his towel in the. Yep, I remember. So Jerry, I think, was collecting info to justify I' about this, right? And then maybe now he feels even more vindicated. But to your note about, like, maybe it broke him. Maybe it just like kind of exposed him. Yeah, maybe. Maybe it just kind of exposed who he is at this stage of everything.
Darius Butler
It's on the players for me because we talk about. We talked to Big Mike when we spent that time with him in the draft, and we asked him about, you know, how was it in Dallas and how was it dealing with Jerry? Because everybody kind of wants to know that. He's like, it's not really a problem because when you're in that line when you're in the locker room, when you're on the field, feel like we watched a game last night. Dallas had plenty opportunities. Like even late in the game, they had an opportunity to make a run down there. Javante Williams fumbles the ball. We had Ferguson fumbled the ball. Pickens with a penalty that, you know, may be insignificant, but in that moment where everything counts, the Aubrey like you had all these different opportunities from the team, from the guys on the team, whether it's players, I wouldn't even put it on the coaches. I think the coaches put them in good position. Duron Bland, he got paid a bunch of money which he earned.
Pat McAfee
Earned.
Darius Butler
He had a terrible game last night. So yeah, we can sit here and say it's the Jerry shit, but when you he has drafted well, whoever's running the show, if it's Steven, if it's Jerry, he has drafted well. The decision to pay who you pay, trade Michael Parsons, that's, you know, that's a big decision. We'll see how that plays out. You know, one of the best pass rushes in the league in his prime. We'll see how he pays out. But I mean those players had plenty of opportunity kind of all season long. And last game the defense has been shitty all year long, but the offense, I feel like they could have put up 34 and outscored that team if they needed to. So yeah, I'm putting. I know Jerry can be a talking point, but I'm still putting it on the players out there.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I agree. Might be hard to focus though, you know, Miami, Miami Dolphins have a lot of things to battle when it comes to focus and attention on stuff. Dallas has a lot of distractions to go. You got to get the right guys in there. I think. Yeah, Dallas Cowboys currently have the right guys. We shall see. Here's a stat though about their defense. They won. Arizona won 7 to 13 on third down last night. Cowboys opponents are 661 of 116 on third down this season. That is the worst rate 53 by any defense in the last 40 years. So that's money, Don, is what they call. And guess what? They're broke. There ain't no money down there in Dallas except for in that honey hole that's three miles deep that Jerry Jones is trying to get access to.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, and there was another stat that came out that said, like if you take all of the starting quarterbacks they've played this year so far, I believe They've thrown like 22 touchdowns, four interceptions, their passer rating is ridiculous. Yeah, here's we go. 112.31 12 second highest in the NFL. So essentially like they're the opposing quarterback is putting up like an MVP performance against their defense week in week.
Pat McAfee
Kobe, Bo Nicks, Jaden Daniels, Marcus Mariota, Bryce Young, Justin Fields, Jordan Love, Caleb Williams, Russell Wilson, Jalen Hurts names not seen on there. Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, any Danny Dimes this year. Aaron, you name it. There isn't real really Any of the not a murders row. It's not there yet. Yeah. Now all these guys, potentially hall of Famers without a doubt. Okay, let's not even dive into it. Coach. Whenever. Okay, let's go. I guess let's go to. Ladies and gentlemen, perfect time for our one of our favorite segments that we've ever had. Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for BS or no BS With BA we talk about these quarterbacks. We talk about these quarterbacks. Let's talk about two quarterbacks in Arizona. You know, there's some people saying out there, Jacoby Brissette will be the Cardinals starting quarterback over Kyler Murray for the rest of the season. Is that B.S. if he's healthy. Is that B.S. or no B.S. b.A.
Coach B.A.
Oh, that's B.S.
Pat McAfee
Oh, what?
Coach B.A.
Too many dollars involved in this one. And the ownership, they've had Kyler for seven years. They gave him big, big bad of money. He's coming back. As soon as he's healthy, he's going to be back in there. There's no doubt Jacoby is carrying them. They're playing better with with him, but they will not make that move.
Pat McAfee
Okay, so you think this will be a contractually obligated move to put Kyler back on the field and Gannon ain't going to have enough Josh to go in there and say, no, this is what I want to do for the good of the team.
Coach B.A.
Totally. I. This is going to be a top decision. Put him back. Now if he fails when we put him back in and he fails, maybe we'll go back to Jacoby. But Kyler's starting when he's healthy. I promise.
Pat McAfee
Well, maybe Kyler's got better from watching Jacoby here debut, but I think a lot of people are starting this feels like Gannon and the boys are riding with Jacobe and BA Is like, well, it doesn't matter. Yeah. Because there's a check that's heading to the other guy that is going to certainly be want to be seen on the field. That's a tough decision.
Darius Butler
Yeah. And it certainly makes sense. Some of those decisions are kind of out of our pay grade in the locker room. But being in that locker room, when you see how the offense is rolling, how it's moving with Jacobe under center running the show, I'm sure offensive players for sure, but even the whole team, defensive player, special team, teams, it's just different. Yes, this their first win with him under a helm, but yeah, it'll be a big decision as far as keeping that locker room together. But with all that money. Just like the conversation with Brock Purdy and Mac Jones. Mac Jones been playing well spending it. But when you got all that guaranteed money to Brock Purdy, you assume when he comes back and he's fully healthy, he'll take over. But I mean, we'll see because look damn good.
Pat McAfee
Yes, he did. And it's also like. And I don't want to compare it to our situation because it is vastly different. Kyler's been paid a significant amount of money, but it's like Anthony Richardson had so much upside. Still has so much upside. Excited to see how it all goes wherever it goes. Hopefully for us he ends up being a starting quarterback somewhere else. And Danny Dimes, our quarterback for 10 years and everything we're doing right now happens until I'm 48 years old. That is what the goal is here. But it's like the entire offense is much more comfortable whenever they know that the quarterback understands the entire offense. So like whenever the guy who is kind of making the decisions and setting everybody up and ultimately making, you know, the play to work or not work, when that person has a understanding of everything, I feel like everybody buys in a lot more. Like Danny Dimes. Just knowing exactly what every play is supposed to be and putting everybody in the right position, I think that inspired and motivated Jonathan Taylor. I think Jonathan Taylor knew he was coming into a season where he was going to be put in the best position basically every single play. I think the offensive line line was inspired coming into the season that they know that the guy behind them is going to be on the same page as them and also put them in the best position possible. And then the wide receivers, I think they came into the year knowing, hey, if I'm open, this guy's going to give me the ball and he's not going to miss me by 15, 16 yards. I think just whenever you have somebody that can execute the offense, kind of make make sure everything's right for the offense, I think it's more so than just on the field. I think off the field motivates it to your point staff, too. Yeah. Even the coaches. I guess that's a lot better for you guys. Whenever the quarter quarterback is like a coach on the field as opposed to somebody that maybe isn't there yet in a full understanding of what's supposed to happen every play.
Coach B.A.
Yeah, I think that might have been Kyler four years ago, but I mean, he, he took them to those close games. They didn't finish. Yeah, they didn't finish. You got to finish in this league. And like I always say, the last two minutes of the half, last two minutes of the game, 76% of the games were decided then.
Pat McAfee
All right, it sounds like you're not giving up on Kyler either. Sounds like you think ownership's going to go in, but you haven't given up. Sounds like a lot of other people have given up on Kyler. I've not paid close enough attention to Arizona, but it feels like conversation going into last night's game was very much like Arizona's kind of done with the whole is Tyler a guy or not a guy conversation. You're saying that conversation's not over, brother, because you spelled conversation there with a dollar sign on that s right in the middle. And that's. That's the most important part. Two dollar signs conversation is happening. Okay, let's go to the next BS or no bsba. Yeah.
Don Tone
BA There's a lot of good divisions, but for the first time in nf, all four teams in the NFC north will make the playoffs. Is that BS or no bs?
Coach B.A.
Ba I think that's no bs.
Pat McAfee
History will be made.
Coach B.A.
I think Chicago is playing extremely well. Their schedule sets up. Minnesota is the team now. JJ's back. They had a big win over Detroit. It's going to come down. When you look at the tiebreakers from the west and the north, and right now the Rams are in second place, but they lose every tie break breaker because they've lost so many conference games. And so this, this is going to be really fun all the way to the end. The Rams have a hell of a schedule left. I miss tough. So I. I think there's a great chance that all the teams in the north make it.
Pat McAfee
How do you feel about that, Ty? It'll be the first time ever. And I would say, you know, saying she Norse. He's saying your father's fathers. NFC north, this is a powerhouse. The north is coming. Could you imagine wildcard weekend with that many NFC north squads out there battling?
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, I mean, that is. I mean, if you're a team in the NFC North. I don't love the idea of having to play a divisional game in, you know, the first round of the playoffs like that. Just, you know, a team that knows what you want to do and you know, I mean, who knows? But we'll see. I mean, there, there's a chance too. Like you guys have talked about it. Like, I think this year especially has really illuminated the fact that if you have a good team and you make a big, you know, stride year over year and you did finish last in your division the previous year year like that schedule does set up for you very well. You know, you look at who the Lions and the packers have to play, you know, in these non division or non conference games compared to who like the Bears and the Vikings have to play like it's. I guess not the Vikings. They were in second place last year. But the Bears especially, it's like they are much better than they were last year and they have that light schedule where if they can keep going, like they might win, you know, 11, 12 games.
Pat McAfee
So you're saying they're better than last year. So you say they're good, better and then there's a chance. Best.
Ty Schmidt
I don't want to see the best, but they are definitely better than they were last year. Leaps and bounds better.
Pat McAfee
Well, they're never going to let it rest.
Ty Schmidt
I know.
Pat McAfee
Until good is better.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
And the better is best. And there's a chance they're on that way, brother. I know Caleb and BJ Ben Johnson really getting things going up there. Let's go to the last BS or no BS With BA Here. Go ahead, Debo.
Darius Butler
Oh, this is a nice one. Nice and concise. All right. I don't care if the Chiefs are in middle of the dynasty. I don't care that Jim Harbaugh is the head coach of the Chargers. I don't care that Tom Brady owns the Raiders. The Broncos are the best team in the AFC West. Is that BS or no BS BS that is total.
Coach B.A.
No BS baby. It took me a while, but I'm a BO Knicks fan now. But this defense is legit. You win championships with defense and a really solid quarterback. The running game with J.K. dobbins, Courtland Sutton, Bo Nix, Bo Knicks with his legs getting 40, 50 yards a game. I really like where the Broncos and again, this division is a tough one. The Chargers have a little bit of a lead as far as division games, but I think the Broncos have the defense to go win this thing.
Pat McAfee
I love Sean Payton too. We're all Sean Payton fans and he loves Bo Nicks. They've only continued to get better and better. They were super bowl darlings by a lot of people going into the season. Nice to see them 7 and 2 and really doing damage. They have a couple tough losses. You know, they've, they've. There are two losses come to some very, very, very good teams. So I like that you're saying they're the best in the AFC West. Another great division over there. At least has a chance to. Okay, let's get to your game balls. BA's game balls. Let's start in the NFC. He picks one game ball for one player representing the entire nfc. It goes to who ba and the.
Coach B.A.
NFC is Sam Darnold, Adam Samuel that crushed that first half. 14 of 14 Four touchdown. I mean, that game was over quick. Great, great game.
Pat McAfee
How do you feel about him having an opportunity with the Vikings last year, leading them to a number two overall seed in the nfc? Didn't play his best games late. They sent him out of town. J.J. mcCarthy's I got our guy might work out for them certainly in the long run. I like the cut of JJ's jib for sure, but he goes up to Seattle. They got a great defense with McDonald and offensively, Jackson, Smith and Jigba once again, to be the best wide receiver in the league has a chance to certainly be that. And Sam slices and dices. What a perfect fit for him at this stage of his career.
Coach B.A.
It feels like it really is. JSN and him have a connection that's really special. And you know, they got other weapons too, but that defense is legit. And I really like where Seattle is right now.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, that uniform's awesome too. All right, let's go to your AFC game ball. Once again, he is picking one player from the entire AFC that deserves a game ball. Go ahead, coach. Coach.
Coach B.A.
In the history of we talked about last week, anytime your name goes with in the history of. Cam Little, 68 yard field goal winning.
Pat McAfee
Points in the game.
Coach B.A.
Great kick, man.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, it was great kick. It was historic. And we actually got a chance to catch up with Cam Little this morning. Ladies and gentlemen, the man who holds the longest field goal in the history of the NFL. And it's not even his longest that he is kicked in an NFL sanctioned game. Ladies and gentlemen, 68 yard bomber from the Jacksonville Jaguars. And Woo Pig Sui, ladies and gentlemen.
Cam Little
Pleasure to be on the show. I'm excited, man. Always wanted to be on the show.
Don Tone
There it is.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, we always get it Wrong. Yeah, yeah, we try our best. Cam, thank you for joining us. And you said you've always wanted to be on the show. I. Since watching you kick a ball, has always been. I have always been very fascinated by how you create so much leg speed. So let's just. Let's dive into this. I don't think you're like the most jacked guy. I don't think you're.
Cam Little
No, that's a very fair statement.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, Little. Little is your last name. I don't think you're tiny, but you're certainly not one of these massive guys. Have you always had an incredibly strong leg? Like in soccer? Whenever you were growing up, were you always the free kick taker? Always had a strong leg. And how did you get to see this point?
Cam Little
Yes, I think that's where I kind of first started. I was always good at taking free kicks and penalty kicks and all that stuff kind of tied into me learning how to kick a football and obviously going to Cole's camps. Growing up, I never really had the fastest leg. And I developed a little later in my high school career when I was going to these camps, I saw guys that had faster legs than me. And I would always ask him, like, how are you guys getting your legs faster? Like, because at the end of the day, that's what gets you the most powerful on the ball. And so, you know, started developing a faster leg. And now it's like my best trade as a kicker because Obviously I'm a 6 foot one, 175 pound guy that cannot squat a huge amount. So everyone always asks me, what. How do you kick the ball so far? I think ball contact and leg speed is the key to kicking the ball so far and high.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, you're hitting the ball sweet every time you're hitting that ball sweet, which is not easy. You know, Vinitari, I was very lucky to work alongside. Obviously everybody in the kicking world knows that. And versus Vinnie, whenever I got there, you know, I used to be a kicker in college and I had a strong leg, but I had no idea where the ball was going. So his big thing was like, hey, you cannot sacrifice the sweet spot. So if you have to swing 85% to hit the sweet spot, do that. If you have to swing 75% to hit the sweet spot to do that. Now, granted, if you can swing hundo and hit the sweet spot, that is where the magic. That is where the magic comes. And that's where the cam littles of the world come in. I do believe this generation of Kids, kickers bombing it further than ever. You had a 70 yarder in preseason against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Everybody loses their mind. You're like, holy hell. Then obviously the conversations about Aubrey in Dallas, you hitting that 68 yarder now against the Raiders because of the 70 yarder, were you confident walking out there? This was going to be a make like that obviously has to be the mindset, but 68 is. So you're so much closer to the other uprights than the ones that you were kicking to. What is the mentality as you're walking, talking out there, Cam?
Cam Little
Yeah, I mean, you kind of go out there and Logan, obviously, Logan and Ross both do a great job of prepping me for this stuff. They. Logan always thinks I hit the ball the best when I'm swinging the hardest. And so I told him right as I was going out there to spot it. I said, I'm swinging hard at this football. I'm making sure that I'm going to drill this thing. And so, you know, I spot the ball and I'm looking down at the spot and I tell him that, and he's like, hit that ball hard, boy. Hit it hard. And obviously stayed left middle and just stuck dead straight down that left middle the whole time. And, you know, you go out there and you prep so much from deep in practice and you know, you're working with your op for fun back there at 60 plus sometimes, and then for it to finally come to fruition again was so cool.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. In a real game, too. They won't give you credit for that 70 yarder, you know, they won't. They won't give you credit. We will, obviously, because we've seen it before, but 68 in the history books forever, brother. At least for the time being. Now, talking about. About hitting that 68 yarder last night there was an op. Go ahead, Tone.
AP Town
Yeah, Cam, I don't know if you're watching the game at all or not, but when. When Aubrey goes back to 68, and we had mentioned it yesterday on the show, we were like, oh, 68. You know, this could get broken this season. Aubrey's going tonight and then he steps back to 68. Is he one of the guys? Like, when you go back and you, you're like, oh, no. Like, is he gonna do it tonight?
Coach B.A.
What?
Pat McAfee
Ladies and gentlemen, we have breaking news. Cam's full interview will be available on YouTube and all the other social media platforms. The jets are trading Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts because the Colts need secondary help and the jets is the Jets. Sauce welcome to time, brother. Okay, this defense that Lou Annarumo runs, D Bud, what will Sauce Gardner be able to do in this defense? As you put your ears back on, shout out to Cam Little for joining us. Full conversation with him will be available. Sauce Gardner, you're going to love Indianapolis. You're going to love this place. We're going to love you. Lou Anarumo's defense with Sauce Gardner. What does this mean?
Darius Butler
I mean, with everything that Lou does, as far as all the different things that he throws at offenses, when you have a chess piece like Sauce, who could just go up and lock down a guy on either side of the field who can lock up a number one receiver, I mean, it's going to be tremendous. I'm blown away by this trade just because of the amount of money that we've invested in the secondary already this offseason is bringing over Cam, buying them, paying Mooney, All Pro Mooney. And now you have two, what, 25, 30 million dollar cornerbacks on each side of the field when Mooney's healthy. So I mean, this is unbelievable. This is completely different than what Chris Ballard has done in the past, but this is another sign that the big three, they're all in and they want to win the championship and they want to win it now.
Pat McAfee
Okay, So I sent a text this morning to the building, okay. And our source says, told us. I want to read the exact quote here. I said, you guys cooking today? Question mark response I got was buckle up. Okay. So there was a chance that this was going to be exciting. Now NFL free agency deadline is always lot of, lot of ah, sizzle. Okay. A lot of sizzle. No steak.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
There's a lot of talk. Talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, talk. But when push comes to shove to actually make the decision decision to send an all pro out of the building and let somebody else reap the benefits of that, that's a huge push comes to shove moment that has to happen. The jets moving on from Sauce. What does this mean for the New York Jets?
Darius Butler
Just paid them.
Pat McAfee
Legit. Legit. And Aaron Glenn, defensive coach.
Darius Butler
Corner. Former corner.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. So I, I, I am very Coach ba. What is your thoughts on why the jets would make this move with Sauce, especially after they just paid him. And what do we think is let's not even project what's in return because we will always be surprised by what is trading two first round picks.
Don Tone
Holy shit.
Darius Butler
Wait a minute.
Pat McAfee
The hell?
Coach B.A.
Well, they're gonna be Sauce.
Pat McAfee
That's awesome. Pumped your. I am pumped your hair. Sauce. Two first round picks for a corner is. So now we got our answer on why the jets moved on. Yeah, now. Now we got our answer for why the jets moved on. Two first round picks to the jets for a corner in sauce. Listen, Sauce, we're gonna love you here, okay? We are very, very. And now the way you start looking at this if you're the Colts, is our team is going to be a mature team, okay? All of a sudden we got guys at basically every single spot. Our offensive line pretty much locked down and we got them for a while. Wide receivers, we got a few years with all of them on the defensive side. We sign a bunch of guys to a bunch of deals. We got people locked up for a while. So I guess you would look at the draft as a potential chance to supplement somebody, but really what the way it's being viewed here clearly is like, we don't need the draft right now. We got guys, we got a team that can go. So let's add a piece that is elite to a defense that has to get better for us to go where we want to go in the Super Bowl. Two first rounders. Feels like a lot. Senior NFL Insider for espn, ladies and gentlemen. Shefte joins us. She. Good reporting, brother. We appreciate that. Two first rounders for Sauce Gardener. Was everybody or anybody else in the market for Sauce or was it just the Colts and did they have to to get a two ones because that's what the jets needed to let him out of the building.
Adam Schefter
We got Rashid Jahid getting traded right now, too. That just came down. Hold on, one second.
Pat McAfee
To where?
Adam Schefter
Hold on, one second. Hold on, hold on.
Darius Butler
Tweet. I got a tweet.
Adam Schefter
We're going nuts here right now. Okay, hold on. So Rashee, Sauce, Gardner, two first round picks.
Pat McAfee
We'll call you back. We'll call you back. Do your thing, do your thing. We'll call you back. We'll call you back.
Darius Butler
Great job.
Pat McAfee
We'll call you back. We appreciate you. Sheriff in the back of the minivan getting on a lot of service. Love this two ones. Coach Va. What is this message that's kind of being sent, you think by.
Coach B.A.
Great move for the Colts, the two ones are going to be from like 26 to 32?
Don Tone
Yeah, exactly.
Coach B.A.
Like Sauce Gardner. He's worth this to. To. To put your defense out there like this? I think it's a fantastic move by Chris Ballard in the big three. And again, that locker room is going to be jacked up coming to practice.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I think so. And Sauce's vibes feel like should be great in our Indianap locker room. I think established culture. And you talk about. There's basically early second rounders here. Two of them, though. Two. Two twos for Sauce is still a massive trade. Oh, yeah. If that's how you view it. Even though they're going to be late first probably 32nd couple times.
Don Tone
Exactly.
Pat McAfee
If I had to guess, with the way this Colts team. Let's look at standings right now. Yeah. Colts are winning the super bowl, so they got the 32nd pick for the next couple years. Way to go, Jets. Yeah. Right. We pick up all pro Sauce Gardner. He's going to be all over the place. Do you think anybody else was in the market for Sauce? Did people know Sauce was on there or do you think this was it? Attack from Chris Ballard. We'll offer up two ones. There's no way they'll be able to turn that down. They're in the middle of a storm. They're trying to build this whole thing over. We take on a contract and they get two ones. This be an easy sell. We can get them. Or do you think maybe Sauce was on the market a little bit and Chris Ballard caught wind and said, wait a second, I love some Sauce out here in Indianapolis.
Ty Schmidt
I don't think anyone thought he was on the market. Like, this is why today can be awesome. Because we. We hear all these names and it's, you know, like, it's guys, like, guys that, you know, aren't moving the needle like Sauce Gardner is. But you look at everything. Like, a lot of times, you know, someone knows something, but I hadn't seen, you know, the jets have been talked about a bunch in terms of who they might be willing to give away. Jermaine Johnson, Breeze hall, guys like that, Sauce Gardner. You just assume, especially with the Aaron Glenn connection, him being a cornerback, like, you assume that this guy was going to be a pillar of their defense for the next 10 years. So, no, I think this is just a situation where Ballard looked at him, he said, you know what? I really, really like this guy and I want him.
Pat McAfee
And the Big Three said, I'm about to. Carly writing her notes down. I'm about sick of watching this defense. Yeah. It's going right now. We got a lot of injuries.
Coach B.A.
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Back there as well. So I. To your point about the big Three, they're taking on a big contract. I mean, that's. That's more money out the door. So you got Carly Kaylin and Casey saying, let's go try to win this.
Ty Schmidt
Super bowl here early leaders of the trade deadline by a wide, wide, wide margin.
Pat McAfee
Now we're talking. Are they best owners in sports? Hey, are they best owners in sports? Of a sudden, I'm starting to wonder.
Darius Butler
This is crazy. And the two first round picks, obviously, that's crazy. I don't care if they're late first round. Those are still two first round pick in this climate. That's insane. But it also lets you know, in my opinion, how confident they are in Daniel Jones going forward. Because now I def. For 1000% expect Daniel Jones to probably sign an extension before this season's over because obviously this is going to be our quarterback of the future. We finally found this guy and then going forward. So my mind is still blown because of the moves that they already made this offseason season. But to BA's point, sauce is the person that can come in the building and completely shift that needle on the defense. Because if you looked at our defense, the one thing we are missing is kind of like that elite closer on the front end.
Pat McAfee
Ladies and gentlemen, joining us live from a chaotic car ride, Adam Schefter's back. Shafty. Oh, he's on.
Adam Schefter
What's going on, guys?
Pat McAfee
Okay. Who are you? Who are you? I love this.
Adam Schefter
There's a lot. There's more coming. There's more coming.
Pat McAfee
Okay, we'll call you back. We'll call you back. We'll call you back. We'll call you back.
Coach B.A.
Yes.
Pat McAfee
What's going on? Yeah, no, that's not. Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, there's more coming. Like. Ladies and gentlemen, Rashid Shahid traded to the Seahawks from the same.
Don Tone
Wow.
Pat McAfee
Coach ba, obviously down there in the NFC south, you've seen Rasheed Shahid zoom down the sideline catching a deep ball. Your thoughts on this move for the Seahawks. Sam Darnold gets another weapon for that offense that has been spectacular. Yeah.
Coach B.A.
But JSN and this guy, this guy is a game wrecker, boy. He's a touchdown waiting to happen. Maybe the fastest guy in the league. Play speed right now.
Darius Butler
Oh, yeah.
Coach B.A.
And more than just a receiver. He's reverses and just get the ball in this kid's hand. He's electric.
Pat McAfee
Let's talk about Schneider up there in Seattle. Yeah, this is quite. Remember, us included. Said, what's this guy doing? He kicks Pete Carroll out of the building. Pete Carroll, by the way, still has his fastball. 1 for 2. Could have kicked an extra point. Would have tied the game 1 for 2. For the good of football to try to win it. They end up losing it. That's another L they got. A lot of those people are thinking they're going to be unloading Jacobe Myers out the door already this morning. So I don't want to talk about that decision for them not being the right one. Obviously the Seattle Seahawks people feel great about the decision to move on from Pete Carroll, move on from dk, move on from Ty, move on from Gino, move on from that entire era. We're going to paint the fucking walls, actually paint the walls, okay? We're moving on from all of this. We got a defense coordinator from Baltimore, he's going to come in here, we're going to change this entire culture. I think we all say what an idiot this guy. This is dumb to be able to do this. But what we're seeing is a completely different version of the Seahawks. This team does not look like the teams of the past. This team is its own iteration of the Seattle Seahawks team. They're electrifying to watch. This is only going to help. Rashid Shahid is so fast, so good. I, I don't. Speed kills matchups is what every person in the NFL says. Every face, special teams, defense, offense. If you have speed, can't coach it. First of all, okay, you either got it or you don't. And you can have all the plans in the world for somebody and if they just run around you and by you, there ain't shit you can do about it. And this is one of those types of guys. And now Sam Darnold who's having an MVP year.
Don Tone
Yes.
Pat McAfee
Has him on the opposite side of him somehow of jsn.
Darius Butler
So now you're going to a very good quarterback. But even the play caller Kubiak was in New Orleans a couple seasons ago. Was that last season we were all putting him in the super bowl after that first, you know, four game start that they had. And he was a big Rashid so he was a huge part of that. And you talked about planning for him like he's not going to be a guy that you're actually going to be able to game plan for as a defense because you got a double team. JSN and then Horton has been coming along, he's making, I think he just had two touchdowns on Sunday Night Football. And then now you got Rasheed Shahid who's kind of going to be that forgotten guy who can take the top off any defense on any given down. So yeah, this is another element and another sign of a team that's all in to go and win the championship. This year.
Don Tone
Yeah. And for both those teams that are clearly not all in like now with the jets, kind of all eyes turned against Garrett Wilson and Jermaine Johnson. Like if Sauce Gardner's getting moved even though they just paid him, you assume Garrett Wilson might because he's also going to fetch multiple first round picks. Possibly, you know, more than that too. And then for the Saints, it's Chris Olave and Alvin Camara. Like, it feels as though Shahid was also in this kind of list. But there are all these other big names on both of these teams still that are available.
Pat McAfee
Sauce, welcome to the city, man.
Coach B.A.
Welcome.
Ty Schmidt
God, he's a Midwest guy too. So he shifted fit right in.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, he is, isn't he?
Darius Butler
Oh yeah.
Pat McAfee
Detroit, New York, it's been real big heart. See you later. Gonna go try one super bowl in Indianapolis real quick, man. Sauce, I can't wait for you to come out in the loud house, buddy. That place is going to go crazy. Oh, Indiana, Midwest. With the name Sauce, the amount of marketing. Oh, welcome to the city, Sauce.
Darius Butler
He kind of got a pay rock.
Coach B.A.
Too going from New York.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Oh, and once you buy everything out here, oh, so much Sauce. You're about to live like a king. Yeah. Congrats to you dude. We're great to it's very great to have you.

Pat McAfee
Hello beautiful people and welcome back to our humble above the Thunderdome on this BA Day, November 4, 2025. Hour two of the program begins right now. Football has a lot going on. That cadence was from a man who is a coach at football for 47 years. BA was here. We appreciate Coach Coach went through BS or no BS with BA in the first hour and gave out his game balls. Congrats to Sam Darnold in the NFC and Cam Little in the AFC winning BA's game balls for the week. Nine year NFL vet Darius Jay Butler is here. Good to see you back, man. Talks to tables here at Boss Connor and anti and anti Schmidt boys. Wow. Trade deadline day.
Ty Schmidt
Wow.
Don Tone
Unreal.
Pat McAfee
It's a wild trade deadline day. Now. You know Sauce Gardner is the main event. The marquee, the headline of this particular trade deadline day. And where is the New York Jet going? Well, obviously Indianapolis Indiana because the Indianapolis Colts are all in. Chris Ballard makes a move with the New York jets for Sauce Gardner worth two first round draft picks. Now the Colts are thinking those draft picks are going to be obviously late in the first round, probably 32nd. And also A.D. mitchell, I am being told A.D. mitchell also sent to New York. So we give up two ones, late ones, maybe the 32nd pick both those times. And also also AD Mitchell who's a wide receiver that has not been getting on the field for the last three, four weeks since the Rams game. In the Rams game, obviously we saw the ball get dropped at a half yard line and then also a holding call away for the thing that called back another touchdown. We should have beat the Rams. We lose to the Rams. A lot of people say it's because A.D. mitchell, Jay Glazer. Go page. Jay Glazer is back in the game.
Ty Schmidt
He is.
Pat McAfee
He doesn't like to do the day to day.
Ty Schmidt
No, he doesn't.
Pat McAfee
But every once in a while he'll drop in on a Sunday and say hey, here's some Scooby. And then here on trade deadline day, Jay Glazer has some scoopage. That's crazy.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
You kidding me?
Ty Schmidt
I mean any of the New York teams AG Mitchell.
Coach B.A.
Yeah.
Ty Schmidt
Stay tuned. More scoopage coming.
Don Tone
Really?
Pat McAfee
Is there a lot on the way.
Ty Schmidt
Well, I mean, I'm not so sure the jets aren't going to trade everybody. Did you think South Garden was going.
Coach B.A.
To get traded today?
Pat McAfee
I did not. Two first and A.D. mitchell. That's a lot of.
Ty Schmidt
Well, it makes sense. A.D. mitchell. That basically paves the way for. They are going to trade Garrett Wilson now. I mean, you know A.D. mitchell. Garrett Wilson is kind of like the same.
Pat McAfee
Six, seven.
Ty Schmidt
Exactly. Well said, well said.
Pat McAfee
So yeah, stay tuned.
Ty Schmidt
I mean, I know Shefty well. I don't know how I'm going to shoot Shoehorn six seven six seven in there after you already did it, but Schefter was basically in a foxhole, you know, taking mortar rounds and 50 cal bullets. So. Yeah, stay tuned. More scoopage coming.
Pat McAfee
Okay. Shefty was on two phones. He puts the tweet out. Culture. Steve Corner. Sauce Gardener. The jets receive next year and the year after first round picks and wide receiver.
Darius Butler
A wow, that's a lot, man.
Pat McAfee
Can't wait to have you here at Indy. Sauce. Listen, I love. We don't need drafts draft picks. Okay. We already got our team. Now immediate follow up. How much money do we owe Sauce Gardner? Well, it's like six hundred and some thousand for the rest of this particular season and then it's 26.1 million for the next five years. So, you know, because of what the jets already picked up out of his 131 and a half million dollar contract, we owe him 26.1 mil for the next five years.
Don Tone
Wow.
Pat McAfee
And then only 625,000 for the rest of this year. Now Jonathan Taylor needs a new deal and Danny Dimes certainly needs a quarterback deal. Coach B.A. we're spending a lot of money. We feel like we can go on a run. We give up. I mean two first rounders is a huge deal. Plus a player A.D. mitchell. I don't think A.D. was going to a fresh start for A.D. was really good.
Don Tone
Yes.
Darius Butler
And let's not forget what happened right before that fumble like that. That is what A.D. mitchell is supposed to be like. That is the. He's a tough, talented, talented dude. Made some bonehead decisions obviously, but he is a very. What was he? A second round pick. We watched him play in the. In the college playoff. Talented player, fresh start. I don't think the jets are going to move him for Gary Wilson. But who, who knows? Just pay him. I think this like you would know all in for stacking up draft capital to go and get a quarterback to throw to Garrett Wilson or A.D. mitchell and whoever else that they keep there. But we'll. We'll see.
Pat McAfee
Coach BA we, we got Danny Dimes that needs to get paid. Let's assume we pay him. Jonathan Taylor needs to get paid. Let's assume we pay him. We've already paid Pittman. Alec Pierce is coming up on a contract. On the defensive side, DeForest Buckner. We've paid. I think Quentin Nelson. Offensive line, we've paid. You got Moody, we've paid Cam Bynum, we've paid Zaire, we've paid Bernard Ryman. We've paid a lot of guys. We've paid a lot of guys. Feels like now is the window, right this now officially the window where the Colts are expecting to win a Super bowl go. Coming into the season, nobody outside of the Indianapolis Colts locker room and a few select Colts fans thought that they could win a Super bowl this year. I think the Colts thought that they had a very good roster, just needed a quarterback. They get Danny Dimes as their quarterback. They're not paying him a lot of money. They decide to really make some plays to go all in here. What are your thoughts on what the Colts are doing in roster construction and can they win a Super bowl this year?
Coach B.A.
I don't think there's any doubt. They got to stay healthy, obviously, but big and slow and solidifies that back end. Like I said, you get the other kid healthy, but now you don't have to pay two first round picks so you can save him money.
Pat McAfee
Interesting, interesting. Saving money.
Coach B.A.
You can always put it on the back end. There's always. There's ways of monogam. Besides that thing, the salary cap, it's gonna go up again. So to me, spend it now. When you got a chance to win, you go win. All right. Just don't wait for the future.
Pat McAfee
You guys did that in Tampa pretty good, I think.
Coach B.A.
Hey, let's go get it. And we got it. And Jason Light does such a great job. We haven't lost much because Baker Mayfield came in and saved us like Danny Dimes has. And so it's the same thing.
Pat McAfee
Okay. Well, hopefully we have the same outcome as you guys going all in. And I think if you were one of those Colts fans before the season that voted, I have no optimism in this team. I do wonder how you feel on this particular day because we just get beat by the Steelers pretty good. I mean, we got beat by the Steelers pretty good. That was only seven point game. It's going to hammer Don Tons eighth AP Town. That was only a seven point game. Obviously we all Watched that. But the Colts here, are they acknowledging a mistake, you think, against the Pittsburgh Steelers or what their faults are? And what do you take from this move from the New York jets moving on from Saskatchewan?
AP Town
It was a close game, was a seven point game. Great comeback by the Colts. I wouldn't say, I don't think the secondary was an issue versus the Steelers because that was more of a turnover issue, offensive issue for the Colts in that game. But throughout that game, all the J.J. watt was talking about was, you know, how great the offense was. But the, you know, the defense gives up a bunch of yards. That has kind of been the Achilles heel so far. Even though it hasn't bit them yet there. I think they were like 26 in yards or something like that, but they weren't giving up points. So adding sauce is obviously going to help, like help with that. And that is a huge move for Chris Ballard.
Coach B.A.
Now.
AP Town
He's been there for a long time. Wouldn't say he was on a hot seat because they're having a great season. He was on hot seat probably before the season. But this is a move to, you know, go for the super bowl that was promised to us, to this decade.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I think, you know, and also Jim Irsay is obviously in the thoughts and the minds of everybody over there and they're like, you know what? Feels like we got a special season. Let's go ahead. What would you. Let's go for it. Let's go for it, Pards. And I appreciate them doing that. Trade compensation has come in for the Rasheed Shahid trade. Seahawks are sending a fourth and fifth rounder to the Saints for a receiver, Rashid Shahid. That is normally the type of compensation that we're used to seeing on trade deadline day. Fourth and fifth rounder, fourth and sixth rounder, two ones. And a player is not normal for trade deadline day. But here we are. The NFL is doing it again. I do wonder if there was a memo sent out like, hey, we're fresh off of, remember our worst Sunday that we've ever had last week, worst in 55 years. Let's make sure we don't do that again. And also trace deadline. Let's get spicy here. Yeah. What if the NFL said, we're sick of the talk smart walk, let's do this. Feels like the jets and Colts did that. And then, you know, Schefter says there's more on the way. What will that be? What do you think Schefter's alluding to?
Don Tone
I mean, it feels like a lot of the biggest names that were coming into the day expecting to be traded haven't even been traded yet. Like now. I actually do believe Jaylen Waddle will get traded. I didn't think Jalen Waddle was going to get traded until this Sauce Gardener came through. And cool part about Sauce Gardener, probably making history. He's the gonna be the first player to play in London and Germany in a five week span, right?
Pat McAfee
Oh, yeah.
Don Tone
Kind of.
Pat McAfee
Sweet question. How will that work? He'll join the team this week. I. I doubt he'll play this week.
Ty Schmidt
Meet him in Berlin.
Pat McAfee
I mean it's middle of season.
Don Tone
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
How's that work, D?
Darius Butler
But I think he'll play this week.
AP Town
Yesterday, let's say you give up two first. He's playing.
Coach B.A.
He's got three practices. He's getting three practices. Man, he's got enough.
Darius Butler
But he missed play a lot of dude coverage.
Coach B.A.
You got that dude?
Pat McAfee
Okay, I like, we need that. What's that?
Darius Butler
I think he missed, didn't he? Him and Garrett Wilson miss last game with some type of injury. So I think if we're tra. If we're giving up this.
Don Tone
Oh, he's hurt.
Ty Schmidt
He's got a bum knee. Not a big deal.
Darius Butler
Not, not a big injury. We wouldn't be giving up two first for him. Look, I trust the big three, but yeah, I, I anticipate him to play this week.
Pat McAfee
Me too. Okay. So he'll be in Germany this weekend, hopefully for the Indianapolis Colts. Defense. Defense. And what if we just don't give up a touchdown ever again? It's likely, very likely that we don't give up a touchdown. I don't know how anybody scores on us now and I don't know how anybody stops us.
Coach B.A.
Pretty good combo.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, it is, isn't it? That is a good combo. And sure, the Steelers had four, six turnovers, five of them against. What's that.
Darius Butler
What was that about? Like where did that defense.
Don Tone
That's a good team.
Pat McAfee
2005 Super bowl was. They were eight in the building. Yeah, I legitimately.
Darius Butler
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
When I saw the photo of Bill Ben, Aaron Tomlin, I go, wait a minute, Bill is at practice. So, so they, they're letting Bill Kyr talk to these guys? I, I don't necessarily love anything about that because we've listened to Bill talk. Okay. And he is a yinzer. So whenever you talk about what a Steeler is, it's like he literally grew up in it and is it and represented it and want to super bowl for it. So Bill Cower and his Chin are like the depiction of what a Yinzer Steeler is. Okay, so him being back in the building. Ben Roethlisberger, longest tenured Pittsburgh Steeler. Then you talk about everybody that was on the field that won a Super bowl and the guys that hung around. You're talking about just legendary folklore around Pittsburgh that the current Steelers have to hear about. Like, they definitely go to events around Pittsburgh and they hear about those guys were Pittsburgh Steelers. Tommy Maddox is in this thing. And the stories that I've heard about Tommy Maddox, it's like people and yeah, Tommy Maddox, we love Tommy Gun, you know, so you talk about everybody, let alone Porter and Farrier, you name it. The group that kind of goes on and on, but I think that group being in the building provided an opportunity for the guys that are new to the Steelers. DK Metcalf, Aaron Rodgers, you name it. Darry Slay gets injured. That's not great. Jaylen Ramsey, huge hit. A couple of different ones I think he gave them. And not Johnny Smith, who were very good players. I get a chance. I think it gave them an opportunity to be like, oh, this is what I'm. I'm gonna want to be respected as a Steeler too. You know, it almost like provides a little bit more of an emphasis on being great whenever greatness is around from the past. I think personally, especially with that 2005 team. Coach.
Coach B.A.
Yeah, having been a part of that 2005 team, it was very, very special unit. These guys, they. They cared about each other more than any team I've ever been a part of. Our Super Bowl 55 team was very close most of that, and. But, yeah, what a great, great group of guys right there, man. It was fun, fun time coaching those guys.
Pat McAfee
Ike Taylor, obviously in there looking incredibly cool. You just fanica is in there looking incredibly sweet.
Darius Butler
Did Dig LeBeau have the headset on?
Don Tone
I think so.
Darius Butler
We have eyes on Dick LeBeau, and.
Pat McAfee
That'S a part of the problem. Casey Hampton looks awesome, by the way. Looks like he'd go out there and play right now if he had to. I mean, them being around, I think helped tone, don't you think? I mean, they. The defense. Defense played.
AP Town
Yep.
Pat McAfee
Different. TJ played different than he had played all year. I think even though TJ's already had a great season and TJ is who TJ Watt is, I think he felt an obligation to, like, represent as well. I think that was something that was really kind of lingering in that place as they took on the coats. And I'll tell you what, I didn't like it as I was watching.
AP Town
I agree with you a thousand percent. It was cool. Pregame a lot of the defensive players were in the huddle, like the hype up circle that T.J. watt does before every single game. Game. So yes, they played motivated. And I went back and watched the tape last night because I couldn't get ESPN to work so I couldn't watch Monday Night Football. And the D line just whooped the Indianapolis Colts offensive line ass.
Ty Schmidt
So that was part of it as well.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. And yeah, I mean, lucky for me I didn't turn off the auto pay to Hulu.
Ty Schmidt
Sure.
Pat McAfee
Because I was once a Hulu guy. I was once a Hulu guy. Sunday ticket goes to YouTube TV. So I gotta go over to YouTube TV, start doing YouTube TV. Wow.
Don Tone
Superior. Yeah, that's what it's like really good. This is real Coke and Pepsi.
Pat McAfee
It is not even. I think it's whatever the case for sports fans, it is really good. So this ESPN YouTube TV thing is like a real, I mean this is a real hey, you guys need to figure this out type situation for sports fans. Because it felt like YouTube TV was actually crafted for sports fans. Like that is like, hey, we're gonna try to make this the best viewing experience for sports. As you possibly the quad box created for sports fans. Now there's people that aren't sports fans that are using that. Have you seen some of the quad box options?
Don Tone
Oh yeah.
Pat McAfee
When it like you go into. So I'll go on like somebody's bus or something. I'll use somebody's bus for a night. So I'm using their YouTube TV. So it's like what channels they're used to in a smart inform. It's like the quad box opportunity. Like, okay, got a political show here. We got a little cartoon here. You got this down here. And also you got sports here. Yeah, I didn't even think about the non sports fans. Yeah. But sports goes over there. So last night for Monday Night Football we were all kind of just in agreement that that was going to get done before Monday Night Football, right?
Ty Schmidt
Yes. This, this thing happens every single year with either CBS or NBC or Fox or who have you. And it's always like, oh, I think NBC.
Pat McAfee
It just happened.
Ty Schmidt
Happened.
Cam Little
It did.
Ty Schmidt
And it's. And it's always, oh, at the 25th hour. They come in and save the day and we don't miss any. It's. It seems like it's mostly just posturing. I think most people assume there was no way we weren't going to be able to watch college football on Saturday. Yeah. And then last night, you know, was kind of like the. Oh, wow. Like this actually might go on for a while. And now it's to the point where it's like some of these, you know, missing game day and college football on Saturday. Like this isn't week one or two. Like we're, we're getting to the point where it's the most important football the season. So it seems like, yeah, like if they didn't get something done before last night, because you would think the NFL is kind of the end all be all. It's like, we need to get this done before the Cowboys are playing on Monday Night Football.
Pat McAfee
So I just learned of this because of what happened last night. I think the McAfee, I think you know the old antivirus. I think they tell you all the things you're auto paying and can. Can completely get rid of it. Who knows what. I am still auto paying, man, right now.
Ty Schmidt
I don't even want to know.
Pat McAfee
But the Hulu one, still going. Jumped into a new phone. Jumped into a new phone. I had no idea how it got over this one. I. I transferred phones.
Darius Butler
I couldn't even get it working on Hulu. I must have a subscription.
Pat McAfee
Well, you must be not being auto. You must have got it. You must have done a good job. I don't know how long I've been paying this Hulu subscription. I guess I've been paying for a long time. I took the photo, though, on the screen, a little QR code, touch the thing, wanted a thing. And then my phone was like, what's the thing? I type it in. All of a sudden, boom. Patty, Hulu, your bath. It was like, okay, you guys have been charging me this entire. It shouldn't have been that easy, I don't think, to get in there. But that was what I mean. I racked the brain. Like, how do I even get to it? Shouldn't be doing that for NFL football.
Ty Schmidt
No, no.
Pat McAfee
Should not be doing that for football.
Darius Butler
I shouldn't be on these, these sites that could give my damn devices aids. I don't want that. We're past the Lime Wire era, all right? I don't want to get into. Look, I'm. I don't mind paying.
Pat McAfee
Paying for the parts.
Darius Butler
You're talking about going, I gotta watch Monday Night Football. You know, you gotta do some things. And now I kind of. I saw J.J. watts tweet. I saw some other tweets. Like, it did kind of feel like a Draw line in the sand type moment. Like, nope, I'm not getting another subscription. I'm not doing another gimmick.
Pat McAfee
I was just lucky that I was getting ripped off basically by the auto thing. That's how I watched it. But yeah, we're all done with it. Okay, we're all done with it. And also, if you're on tv, stop telling people to go to a website to save a multi billion dollar deal.
Darius Butler
Okay?
Pat McAfee
Nobody cares what you have to say.
Coach B.A.
We.
Pat McAfee
There will be nothing that we say or any website that'll be visited that'll get this thing. There are, I don't say the exact names, but these people. Let's put our sorts though. Yeah, let's put our sorts out for a good sports. Need each other. Need each other. A lot of people saying, greedy corp, greedy corporate. It's like, yeah, need each other. Especially with where sports are right now and we're in the middle of it. So let's get that done. Let's get that done now. Stop asking me to go to a website.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, I want to work.
Pat McAfee
I don't, I don't want to do that. So stop.
Ty Schmidt
That also doesn't work at all.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Reality of the world. Yeah. All you're doing is pissing everybody off even more. So it's like, let's just not do that. Let's just try to. Okay, somebody needs to do one for a good a ball. For the good of both. Please go to ball. And then I saw some people saying, now the country, okay, for election day, they need to see the news. Let's make sure we get a deal done. And I saw somebody post, somebody thinks election day is more important than NFL Sunday.
Don Tone
Come on.
Ty Schmidt
Wrong.
Pat McAfee
It's like we live in that world for sure. But boy, I'll tell you what, if the election people get this deal done so that we can get Ball back, we appreciate, appreciate you. But if Ball gets his deal back for you guys, we would like some thanks for how stupid sports are. And on that note, let's put our swords down. Let's go ahead and shake some hands over there. We need to be able to access this easily. And also sports are a unifier, man. Come on. We don't want to hear about business now. Granted, there is a lot.
Ty Schmidt
There's a lot of it. Yeah.
Pat McAfee
A lot of money being spent on a lot of things by like both sides. Like a lot of money. Well, we got to survive. We got to survive. Well, we got to. And it's some point they just gotta.
Ty Schmidt
Erase that line in the Sand.
Pat McAfee
Let's dance on that line. Let's do some line dancing.
Ty Schmidt
Exactly.
Pat McAfee
Why don't you guys do some line dancing?
Ty Schmidt
Here we go.
Pat McAfee
Instead of standing on either side of that. Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, senior NFL Insider for espn, Adam Schefter.
Don Tone
She.
Pat McAfee
How you doing, bud? We only got one phone in our hand now. Feels like that wave is over. Are you okay as you gather your thoughts?
Adam Schefter
Well, I don't think we're done. I don't think we're done. But for now, there's a little lull for two minutes bet. Two minutes maybe.
Pat McAfee
Okay, tell me about Sauce Gardner to the Colts, please. We had you there for a second, then you picked up another phone, then you lost your mind. Can you please chitchat a little bit about that play? And 2/1 and AD Mitchell feels like a lot. Is that what was needed to get that deal done?
Adam Schefter
You know, the jets signed him to a 4 year, 1, $20.4 million contract extension this summer, so clearly they were planning for him to be a part of the team. And in this particular case, I think when Micah Parsons gets traded for two ones and a player that sort of sets the baseline for a team that's not necessarily looking to deal a cornerback. And obviously the Colts have been scouring the league looking for help in that area, looking for another cornerback, looking for defensive help. And I get a text there, Pat, you called me the. This morning and you said, the Colts make a trade. I got a text from somebody in Indy that said, we need a four leaf clover. You need a little bit of luck to make this happen. So obviously they felt like the luck kicked in and they were able to get it done. Now, the conversations between the jets and the Colts have been going on for weeks, weeks. And they went until the trade deadline today and obviously at noon or so, whatever. What time? 120. I. I don't, I don't remember what time this came down. Half hour, hour, hour ago. The jets felt comfortable to make this trade. The Colts felt comfortable to make the trade. The jets now have four first round draft picks. The next two years. Look, they're going to be in the quarterback market. They're going to be a quarterback team in the next two years, whether that's this year or next year. But it looks like in a way, they're kind of tearing some things down and rebuilding. And the Colts know that they have an opportunity in much the way the Commanders did at this time last year when they traded for Marshawn Lattimore. And the Commanders went to the AA NFC Championship game. The Colts obviously view this as a window to take advantage of it. They have Daniel Jones on a friendly quarterback deal, and so they went ahead and they traded two ones to the jets along with wide receiver A.D. mitchell, who obviously. Who obviously had lost his place in Indy because. Because of that fumble early in the season. And the Colts have other receivers as well, so that's need receiver help. They trade for John Mechi last week, they trade for AD Mitchell this week, and they had two ones as well.
Pat McAfee
Okay, so AD Mitchell also threw a pick six last year and said that guy looked like Ed Reed. He threw it to. I mean, there's just a lot of things that did not go right for A.D. mitchell. Go ahead.
Adam Schefter
You want to call me minutes here. I got calls coming in here.
Pat McAfee
Yep, you're the man, ladies and gentlemen. I don't have time.
Don Tone
Two minute lull.
Pat McAfee
I gave you all the information I have, okay? Now I'm going to go get more information, so if you could shut up, please, we can move along. AD Mitchell heading over there. Obviously fresh start. We're happy for him. Sauce coming to town. I was going to ask him, are we paying Danny Dimes and Jonathan Taylor now, too? How do we go about doing that? I appreciate the fact that you are like, they'll figure that out. That's because they got Mike Greenberg down there in Tampa. Remember, he's one of the greatest salary cap gymnasts of all time. Colts are going to have to do that as well as the. They continue to try to forge a Super bowl champion team as they trade for Sauce Gardner. Sauce Gardner is member of the Indianapolis Culture now. Hell yeah, dude.
Darius Butler
As a fan, you got, you got, you got to love your team. Going all in.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Darius Butler
Like, figure, figure it out. Okay. We got to pay this guy. Whatever. Figure it out. Just like I'm sure Cowboys fans felt about Michael. Figure it out. How to trade and pay for the good players. What the hell do we got now?
Pat McAfee
He got good news. We got good news. Not a trade. No, no. NFL plus has some stats here. Sauce Gardner has not allowed more than two receptions to a single receiver in a game this season. He has forced a tight window on 61.9% of his targets, the highest rate of any player targeted at least five times in coverage. Yep. I like these. Let's keep feeding.
Ty Schmidt
Wow. Going to say to this point, I actually saw that he is the 22nd ranked cornerback in the NFL, per Pro Football Focus.
Pat McAfee
Well, we all know how we feel about PFF rankings and they're still Playing, putting them out there.
Ty Schmidt
Oh yeah.
Pat McAfee
Week after week, Chris Collins were saying we negotiated. Here's a guy that negotiated the deal for you to run those every single week. I don't care what J.J. watts is. I don't care what anybody else thinks. Sauce Gardner, obviously coming to Colts is a big deal. We'll keep up with Schefter. If any other trades Happen before the 4pm Trade deadline, we had some news around the NFL. Frankie Luvu, Washington Commanders linebacker. He has been suspended without pay. Now every suspension of a game is without pay. You lose a game check. But I think they want to make sure people know like, hey, it's not just a game. They're also losing out on a game check, which is 1/17 of your salary. So it's pretty large. For repeated violations of playing rules intended to protect the health and safety of players, including during Sunday's game against Seattle. This is Luvu's third hip drop tackle of the season. He was previously fined in actions week four and week eight. Then there was a video that kind of accompanied this with all three of the tackles, tackles. Now, whenever hip drop tackle was brought into the lingo of NFL football, nobody really knew how it was going to be officiated because also this is called just a tackle. For some people, including Frankie Louvre. I, I think this is potentially his style of tackle, especially with how easily he does it. If you go back in time with Debo, whenever Debo was kind of James Harrison was kind of changing the way rules were being made. While rules, rules were being changed. He was leading with his helmet. He had to change the way he tackles completely. Frankie Luvu appears to be a guy who's been doing this style of tackle for a very, very long time. And we all can see it. I don't think we all love that it's called a hip drop tackle, but I think it's a good way to describe exactly what it is. It's dangerous. And whenever the rule was made to ban it, you heard a lot of old school football people say it's stupid. Why are we doing this? Why are we doing this? Then whenever you see it, you think to yourself, that's pretty nasty looking. It's like a horse collar, but even more weight almost.
Darius Butler
Yeah, we were all in league when the rules changed significantly. James Harrison was obviously a big part of that. Brandon Merriweather, I feel like it was a one week span where it was probably three or four hits where like the NFL came in and they had to do something and there was a lot of Question marks around that. Like, how is it fair? How would defenders be able to adjust, you know, the target area? You hit them between here and there. But we did and we do. That's just. It's just a part of player safety. It's like how the game is evolving. And we can see these tackles, not this one, but the other two, I think on this clip that are clearly very, very dangerous plays. So, yeah, you definitely have to adjust how he plays and how you tackle because they are player safety. Big issue.
Pat McAfee
B.A. how do you talk to the players as these rules are changing? And I know your. Your entire thing is like, hey, everybody's playing with these rules. But like, whenever they were changing the strike zone on quarterbacks and tackling as a whole, that one against like everything they were taught basically their entire life. I'm not saying Frankie, they. LVU has been taught this, but it looks like this is a style of tackle that Frankie Luvu has been doing his entire life. It looks like he just. He has. He looks like he has a cape on. Just gets him and then drops and stuff. Whenever these rules are changing, what is your messaging to the players and how much are you addressing it with them?
Coach B.A.
Yeah, totally. We get every clip from the league, make our own clips. All right? This is legal. This is illegal. We are not breaking the rules. We are not beating ourselves.
Pat McAfee
All right? So you figure it out. You figure it out.
Coach B.A.
You get used to this this quick, all right? Because I don't want to see any 15 yard penalties. I don't care if they take your money.
Pat McAfee
Jeez, B.A.
Coach B.A.
Hey, that's your damn fault for doing it. But no, I. I'm all for it. This, obviously, I think it's more dangerous than the horse collar. Now, the horse collar was supposedly you had to slide under the back of their legs and got to. Any time you just grabbed it and pulled them down, they started calling it.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Don Tone
All right.
Coach B.A.
But this is very dangerous play. It has to be out of the game.
Pat McAfee
Agreed. Frankie Luvu, first player suspended for the hip drop tackle. Joining us again, senior NFL Insider for espn, Adam Schefter. Chef, what's going on?
Adam Schefter
Well, Pat, I just don't think we're done yet for the day. I think that we have a chance to have more activity. It doesn't mean it'll come down, but they're the phones. They're lighting up right now and we'll see if. If more stuff is going to get done. It's been a crazy day. Obviously, we brought up the Rashid Shahid trade, the Seahawks are sending fourth and fifth round picks in this year's draft to the Saints in return for Rasheed Shahid. So he goes to the Seattle Seahawks. Jacoby Myers goes to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Sauce Gardner goes to the Indianapolis Colts. Logan Wilson went this morning from the Bengals to the Cowboys. And like I said, I just don't think we're done yet, Pat. I think this has turned into a crazier day than I think most people expect. I thought I said to you this morning, we get a few moves today. A few moves. Right, we've gotten a few, but they were of larger magnitude. And I started to tell you before when I was really interrupted by the cell service. That is not great here in Connecticut. But now we're in a good spot that the Colts felt like they needed to get have some luck to get this done. And obviously they stepped up in the form of two first round picks and a day Mitchell to get this done. I don't think the jets ever would have imagined trading Sauce Gardner, but if you're in the jets spot and you've won one game and you know you're going to be in the quarterback market and you know you're going to be reconstructing that roster, you might as well move on from some of the players and start from scratch. And that's, that's what they did here with Sauce Gardner.
Pat McAfee
Okay, she. We appreciate you. What teams should we expect to maybe be active here? Who's blowing up the phones? Is there a certain couple or is everybody still kind of searching to see what's available?
Adam Schefter
Well, I would say that right now there's, I think Dallas is still making calls. You know, we'll see if Miami can get something done for Bradley Chubb. There's, there's, there's, there's a lot of stuff going on.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. I don't want to give it away. We got it. Ladies and gentlemen, Adam Schefter. Thank you. Full panic. One phone with the other one. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Guys, lots going on here. Then people watch them on the show. People start feeding him info whenever he's on the show. Y and then he has to read it while talking. What am I allowed to say? What am I not allowed to say? Is this real? Is this not real? I like the magnitude of the trades that have been taking place here. We'll be joined by Jordan Poyer. All pro PO Will be joining us. Obviously, he's back with the Buffalo Bills, who just had a massive win over the Kansas City Chiefs here in a matter of moments. Buffalo Bills made a lot of plays this offseason. Obviously, paying a lot of people. Doesn't feel like Beans getting that active here in the trade deadline. I feel like they feel good about their team. Is that probably what that means?
Darius Butler
Probably. But we. We never know. We got a couple hours left. Know what Brandon Bean's up to.
Pat McAfee
And Schefter says, you know, this is a lot more chaotic than I thought. This morning, he said he was on a. I. I don't know if he was on one of this one called.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, Elliptical.
Pat McAfee
I think it was on an elliptical, maybe because there was striding, but it wasn't as much bouncing as running, so it felt like it was potentially an elliptical on a FaceTime. And he said, you know, we had a lot. Yeah. Yesterday, Logan Wilson this morning. We'll probably have a couple today.
Darius Butler
Chef doing the ellip. He look like an absolute goofball.
Pat McAfee
To be honest, it was pretty blurry, so all I saw was his white shirt he was wearing, and his face was just kind of bouncing back and forth. Clearly. Headphone on whatever machine was right in front of him. Chefy works out a lot.
Ty Schmidt
He gets after it. I believe he works out every single day.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, Chefy really gets. Yeah, he's adult. He's a lot older than he looks like a lot older than he looks.
Darius Butler
Really?
Pat McAfee
Yes, he is much older than 72.
Don Tone
Yeah, he's 70. Yeah. All right.
Pat McAfee
Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen. He is not 72. Okay? He is not 72. Ladies and gentlemen, a man who is enjoying his eighth year just with the Buffalo Bills has a nickname of all Pro Pope, obviously friend of the program. We appreciate the hell out of him. Fresh out of a massive dub over the Kansas City Chiefs. From the Buffalo Bills, ladies and gentlemen, Jordan Poyer.
Don Tone
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Good to see you, man. How's life?
Jordan Poyer
Life is life, brother. You know, it's just breathing and walking, man. It's a. It's. It's a beautiful life, man.
Pat McAfee
Hey, life to be here, bro. Life is life. And especially whenever you're on a defense that is as pummeling as you guys were against that Chiefs team. Hey, my big takeaway was that you guys, like, beat up the Kansas City Chiefs. I don't think that is normally something that we say about the Buffalo Bills defense. Not that we don't think you're a tough group, but it felt like you guys establish some dominance. Is Bosa a reason for that as you guys get in there or why do you think maybe you guys looked a little different against this Chiefs team?
Jordan Poyer
Yeah, Absolutely. You know, anytime your pass rush is playing that way, anytime your defensive line is playing like that makes it a lot easier on the back end. And, you know, it was huge emphasis going into this game to really play team defense, you know, all around the board. And, you know, we had a great game plan going in and just being able to execute, that was a huge highlight. You know, players made plays. Got one of the boys right here. I want y', all, this is a new friend. Come over here. I want y' all to see the new friend of the show right here. Y' all gotta get this man on.
Pat McAfee
Mr. Maxwell Harrison right here. Hey, Max. What up, dude? How you doing, bro?
Adam Schefter
What's the deal?
Pat McAfee
What's the deal? Hey, life is good. I just beat the shit out of the Chiefs now. We're living large up there in Buffalo. Okay? Okay, man.
Jordan Poyer
Yes, sir. This is the guy right here, man. A great young player. Player, man. Gonna be a player for a long time. Huge play in the game and yeah, man, just wanted to go in and play some really good team defense. And we did that, and hopefully we can carry that momentum into this weekend. Going down south.
Pat McAfee
Okay, let's talk about you being an old ass man now. You know, they talked about you being a mentor in a couple different articles about Cole Bishop. Obviously, Max stopping by there. What is it like now at this stage of your career? Are you enjoying it?
Jordan Poyer
Yeah, man, I'm grateful. Grateful to just be here, to, you know, be with this program again. You know, I didn't want to leave after getting cut here a couple years ago. And, you know, you could say I went down, down south with just kind of more. More anger that I. That I got cut from here. And, you know, that situation was what it was. I learned a lot about myself, learned a lot about life. And I couldn't be more grateful to be here. To be. They call me Unk now.
Darius Butler
Yes.
Jordan Poyer
Which is crazy, you know, and, you know, this is where. This is where I want to be. Retire. This is where. You know, I've said it many times, where I want to retire. I love this city. I love this organization. I love these fans. And, you know, I couldn't think of a better situation to be here. The role I. The role I'm in is obviously a lot different than it's. Than I've had before, but really, just embracing it and just trying to help, you know, these young players come along, trying to help this team and do everything that I can to help this team, you know, go on this run. And so it's been really special and you know, we're halfway through the season and you know, we got some momentum right now. I want to keep that going and you know, we go down south this weekend and it's been a, it's been a roller coaster for sure, but, you know, just, just grateful for it all.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, you're an old ass man. You guys are 6 and 2. Obviously, I've already had your bye week, so your old ass body is certainly going to be tested as we go forward. D but has a question for you.
Darius Butler
Absolutely. Jordan, I want to ask you. How's the body feeling? How's the mind? And what was, what did you see out there? Because Mahomes had his work worst completion percentage in his career against you guys. I know both teams are very familiar with each other. What did you, what did you see out there on the field from 15?
Jordan Poyer
Yeah, you know, the body feels great. You know, obviously not getting any younger, but this is definitely the healthiest that I've been since, you know, I tore my UCL in 2022. That kind of trickled down with a lot of different injuries. You know, the mind is always where it needs to be. You know, just continuing to practice, training the brain, training the mind continue to evolve. And yeah, like I said, we went in with a game plan that we knew we had to execute as a collective, as a team playing team defense. Whether it be our looks, whether it be, again, hits on the quarterback, making plays on the football, making plays when they presented themselves. And playing at home always helps with the crowd noise. That might have been the loudest I've ever heard that plays in. I haven't played in a home game there since 2023. And you know, you're in the, in the huddle, you forget how loud it actually is. You know, TB screamed the play call and you know, that's just a shout out to our fans and, and again, you know, we came in, we executed the game plan and, and you know, we had a lot of young, especially young guys step up and play extremely well, like Max, like Cole and Joey's just. He's just insane.
Pat McAfee
So. Yeah, yeah, it feels like watching him, he. He potentially is an absolute monster around there. Good to see him getting a chance to go on a run. And I talked about it there with you guys being six and two, but literally everything's in front of you. And the narrative after you guys beat the Chiefs is like, well, the Bills always beat the Chiefs in a regular season, so who cares? You know, who cares? Whatever. Huge win Monster win. Fun to watch you guys play in all three phases. And on that note, you can guys very successful when you get a break. Go ahead, B.A.
Coach B.A.
Yeah, Jordan, you guys have always done a great job after your bye week. I think Sean's got an unbelievable record. What is it about that bye week and what Sean does to get you guys on this, on these hot runs every year?
Jordan Poyer
Yeah, you know, we have a really good coaching staff here who, who takes pride in making the adjustments and, and you know that, that, that week isn't necessarily just a break off. Right. You know, there's a lot of guys that stay here throughout the buy to continue to try to work on their bodies, to study the film, you know, with the coaches. And we even came back a day, day earlier. You know, tackling was a huge emphasis and loss against Atlanta before the buy. So we came in, we. Everybody had a report on Monday. We were in full pads on Monday and you know, we were, we were hitting and so, you know, just, you know, understanding. And I think again, you know, the buy happening when it was being able to look back on some of the things that we did well and continue to do those and some of the things that we didn't do well and continue to work on those. And Sean being the defensive minded guy that he is, you know, we came back and we made those adjustments and again, I want to keep that momentum going. You know, we're playing really good team defense right now. And that's what, that's, that's what it's about. And again, we have another great test this weekend down south in Miami against a hungry Miami football team. And so we gotta, we gotta be ready to play. We gotta prepare well like we have been and you know, we're gonna be excited for the opportunity.
Pat McAfee
Who knows what that Miami Dolphins team looks like after 4pm today. Okay? There's been a lot of moves made. Have you been paying attention at all? Sauce Gardner is now a member of the Indianapolis Colts. Okay, AFC on your bumper. Jordan Boyer out here in Indianapolis.
Coach B.A.
Okay.
Pat McAfee
You need to know that.
Ty Schmidt
Okay?
Pat McAfee
There's shit going on right now, Jordan.
Jordan Poyer
Y. Yeah, yeah. That's crazy. You know, I don't know who won that deal, but. Yeah, the afc, the Colts, they looking like a solid team. And yeah, we'll, we'll see how that.
Pat McAfee
Yes, we will, Jordan. Yes, we will. Okay, we got Danny Dimes, obviously phenomenal quarterback. You guys have the mvp. Go ahead, Ty.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, Jordan, Josh Allen was obviously unbelievable when you were in Buffalo, but what have you noticed about his player I guess. How much better do you think he has gotten since your short time away now being back in Buffalo?
Jordan Poyer
I mean, that's, that's the mvp, man. I, I shoot, I said it when I signed in Miami. You know, he's the best quarterback in the game, and that's for a reason. You know, he just continues to build his level of awareness, his confidence. You know, he knows he's great and, you know, he knows the team feeds off of his energy, and he comes in every day with that, that right mindset. You know, he's a quarterback that you want to play for. You know, somebody who's just nasty, savvy, can make every throat, can run everybody over. And again, just his confidence levels through the roof, and somebody that you just want to go to battle with every Sunday of the week.
Pat McAfee
Nasty and savvy. Great words. To be described as he's nasty and savvy. I mean, that, that is a bar there. I, I enjoy the thought of that. Hey, before we get any more football questions in, Connor wanted to bring it up, but he's going to ask you an actual football question, so I'll just address it here. Do you have a hand pan still? Are we still hand panning or. No? Have we gotten better?
Jordan Poyer
I, I do. I, I'm on the rap drum now, which is similar like a hand pan, but it's. I'll be bringing on next time.
Ty Schmidt
I'm a big fan of the rap drum.
Pat McAfee
Your, your favorite drum. Oh, really?
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, yeah, big time.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. So you play the rap drum drum. How do you. How do you. What do we.
Jordan Poyer
It's, it's exactly like a hand pan, but the tones, the tones string out a little bit longer. It doesn't just hit the tone and, and stop the tone. String out a little bit longer. And it makes, it makes the, makes the sound just a lot more soothing. So it's, it's a lot more enjoyable.
Pat McAfee
Max, what are you doing, Max? Okay. What are you doing, Max? Talking about a rapo drum. Hey, have a little respect. Respect, dude. Oh, you're playing this? Is that you, Jordan? Which one you have?
Don Tone
No, like, that comes with the instrument.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. I'll tell you what. Any Caucasian that's got dreads. Hey, any Caucasian that got dreads, you know that they've made some decisions. Okay. They've made some. Going to be a good time.
Darius Butler
Yeah.
Jordan Poyer
Some deep decisions.
Pat McAfee
Yes. They made some decisions on how their life is going to go, you know, And I'm not saying they're not a good time. I've certainly Been around a lot of them. Okay. I've been to an all good festival or two. You see a lot of that. But they've certainly decided that they are committing fully to the bit.
Don Tone
We are parents aren't too happy with those guys.
Pat McAfee
Well, unless they come from parents of Caucasian dreadheads, then their grandparents carrying on a legacy. I do think there is legacy Caucasoid dreadheads. I do believe that is something that happens.
Darius Butler
They all play instruments.
Pat McAfee
I think they all play this instrument. I think they all good you put this instrument in their hands. I think like every white that has dreads would be able to slay this. If I had to guess, just know how to play. You see a white with dreads, you bring this one over, strap up. There's a show coming. They are very comfortable in that.
Jordan Poyer
Go to a portal.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, you are about to go into a portal. Okay, let's talk about a portal of you being unk now. Go ahead, con man.
Don Tone
Yeah, Jordan, aside from the defense, you feel. Do you feel yourself also mentoring like the wide receivers and the tight ends? Just because you have such a wealth of information on NFL defenses that kind of sharing that with the offense helps with them as well?
Jordan Poyer
Yeah, I mean, I'm just trying to be an open book. You know, there's a lot of young players still, I mean, even on the practice squad, you know, that are, you know, ask questions here or there, you know, how does this leverage work here if I'm running this route, you know, what does it look like if I stemming like this and you know, even, you know, so I just really trying to be open book. I've seen a lot of football, you know, both offensively and defensively. And so, yeah, there's a lot of guys, a lot of guys that will come up to you and ask small questions here or there. And really, again, you know, my role now, trying to be a mentor, trying to continue to guide these guys and also, you know, I'm starting now, so really preparing myself to continue to play at a high level and make sure we're solid on the back and. And we're connected on the back end. So. Yeah, man, just. It's a.
Cam Little
It's a.
Jordan Poyer
It's an Unk role for sure, but embracing it and. And enjoying it.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, let's talk about the unk roll here before we let you go. And obviously we're very gracious for your time here. I think I saw 47% of the snaps or something like that. How is that at this stage? Because I got a chance to watch Matt Hasselbeck. Matt Hasselbeck was starting quarterback. Starting quarterback. Starting quarterback, starting quarterback. We draft Andrew Luck. Matt Hasselbeck has to make the decision that he's to going to come in and he's going to be the backup quarterback. Like that is a transition stage of a career. Now. He played valuable minutes for us. We needed Matt Hasselbeck. He was awesome. But mentally it was a decision. You playing this year, I assume you knew what the deal was and obviously understand at this stage, you said you're going to be obviously getting more plays back at starter. But that mindset of just being able to say, yeah, I'm cool with whatever after accomplishing so much and being all Pro. Poe, how. How is that kind of mindset as you address it?
Jordan Poyer
Yeah, you know, initially it coming in, I came in August 28th knowing I'm signing to the practice squad. And yeah, you know, Micah, Micah had told me last year, you know, it was one of the most humbling experiences, right, because you are the guy for so many years and now all of a sudden, you know, you're. You're on the scout team, you know, doing scouting defense. Shit, I was even doing scout team offense with running routes at a couple. Couple weeks during, during the season. And so to that point, yeah, it's very humbling. But, you know, I'm in a place in my life. You know, I've. I've overcome a lot of different things in my life, have so many ups and downs and to really just again be here, to be able to kind of ride off in the sunset on my own terms with the organization that I care about and that. That has essentially raised me in this, in this NFL league, in the NFL world. You know, to me, it's the right way to go. You know, last year was a tough year all around and, you know, kind of what the future looked like was very uncertain. And, you know, there was probably a good time of probably two or three months in offseason where I was retired and I was ready to hang up my cleats and I was okay with that, you know, and you know, as I sat with it more and more and conversations started to come up more and more. The idea of, you know, possibly coming back to Buffalo, you know, on a call it Micah Hyde plan, you know, I started to be intrigued by that obviously, knowing that how I know I can impact the game a lot also, not just being on the field. Right. I've seen a lot of ball. You know, they got a lot of young guys here that, you know, I Just am trying to help bring their game to the next level. Because when I was a young player in the league, I had guys like Tashaun Gibson, Dante Whitner, Jim Leonard, you kind of take me under their wing and showed me how to be the pro, showed me how to take care of my body, how to watch film. And so the Joe Haydens, you know, and I promised myself if I ever got to that age where, you know, people are calling me, unk that that's gonna be. This is my way of giving back to the game, giving back to the organization and just staying ready for whatever. Staying ready for whatever situation, whether it's starting, whatever that is. And so, you know, now here we are, you know, we. Week nine, I'm back in the lineup, and it feels good. My body feels good, spirit feels good, and, you know, I'm excited for this run that we're on.
Pat McAfee
You're still ridiculously handsome, too, so congrats on that, you know?
Jordan Poyer
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Pat McAfee
You. You will be aging differently than the dreaded white guys forever, and we understand that. But, hey, congrats. We're happy to see you at this stage of life. Obviously, we've known you for a while now. We've seen you go through a bunch of different inspiring moments, a bunch of big time moments, a bunch of tough moments. I mean, we feel like we followed along through our appreciation of you and your time for our show. So we're happy for you, man, that you're at peace. We hope you enjoy it all, and good luck to you the rest of the way.
Jordan Poyer
I appreciate y'.
Pat McAfee
All.
Jordan Poyer
It's so good to see y'.
Coach B.A.
All.
Jordan Poyer
Y'.
Pat McAfee
All.
Jordan Poyer
Y' all boys keep stepping, man love.
Pat McAfee
All right, Tell Max we want him on the show.
Jordan Poyer
Absolutely.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Jordan Poyer
You tell him right now.
Pat McAfee
Max, some point. We need you on. Okay. Hey, Max, good to see you. Need you on the show at some point, dude. Need you to be. Will you come on sometime?
Adam Schefter
Yeah, just let me know, all right.
Pat McAfee
All right, we'll let you know.
Cam Little
All right.
Don Tone
We appreciate you.
Pat McAfee
All right, Max and Jordan Poyer. We appreciate you guys.
Don Tone
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Max popping his head in in the middle of one of Jordan's answers and then dropping out. Like that's the energy we need. And also, you can see by their culture right there, the building, that's the Buffalo Bills as a whole right there.
Don Tone
Yeah. Do you remember from the combine, the one guy that tapped every single player up who got drafted? That was him.
Pat McAfee
Oh, yeah. He was the waiting.
Don Tone
He was the guy waiting right there. And he. It was Every single person.
AP Town
Do you remember who represented him at that time? Who he. We were talking to him before he ran Sean Salon. I believe he's. No, I believe he's a money team guy.
Pat McAfee
Oh, Eddie.
Ty Schmidt
That's right.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, he was Kentucky.
Don Tone
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Okay.
Darius Butler
428.
Pat McAfee
Yes, I do remember. Yes. Okay, now. Hey. Should have known that immediately.
Don Tone
Oh, come back.
Pat McAfee
I was actually very worried yesterday whenever Clayton Kershaw facetimed us in and he brought his bowl of coup into the. Into. Into the fold.
Ty Schmidt
Sure.
Pat McAfee
I told Ty clearly before that show started, hey, Clayton Kershaw might bring some of the boys in. Going to need you to give me answers on who the hell they are. Okay. Because that is nothing worse than showing somebody. He could have shown Clayton Kershaw could have shown somebody in there.
Ty Schmidt
Miguel Rojas.
Pat McAfee
Bingo. And it's like I'm happy that Max didn't feel any disrespect there. I should have known immediately because of how big a fans we are of his. Makes a big play for them on Sunday, obviously against Path Patrick Mahomes. But that is the vibes of the Bills as a whole. And Jordan Poyer talked about coming back, being this unk role. It's like it feels like that building likes who they are and what they are. And you got to really put a focus on that if you want to build a good team.
Darius Butler
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
And the Bills have done that.
Darius Butler
You gotta have some good vets. And obviously you want to be a good vet and still be productive at the same time. Because it's hard for young guys to listen to a guy even if they have played a long time in the league, if they're not still playing well. Now, if he's. Is he going to be all pro pole? We'll see. But that especially all those moving parts that are back there, they do a lot of disguising on defense and you know they're going to be in it with that team that they have around. Josh Allen.
Pat McAfee
Okay, we have big news tonight at 8 o' clock we'll get the college Football playoffs official rankings. The College Football Playoff committee went into a meeting last night as all the older whites and put their hats down and said, let's go in there and do this thing. I. I am very excited that this is officially College Football Playoff season and we'll get the official rankings. That really mean stuff. How many Big 12 schools have a chance? How many ACC teams have a chance? How many from the SEC? How many from the Big 10? Now the AP has their own rankings. Obviously others do Their own rankings. This is the only one that actually matters. Whenever it comes down to starting with 12. Counting down to one interesting social video to start this entire.
Darius Butler
Know who those people are. Like, individual names.
Pat McAfee
They all look like the same person to me, but. But it is different minds.
Cam Little
Mark Dantonio, right there.
Ty Schmidt
Okay.
Pat McAfee
That's all I knew a lot of people that have a lot of love and appreciation for college sports.
Don Tone
Bald guy. Yep.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Ty Schmidt
Greasy hair guy.
Pat McAfee
Oh, sweet lady.
Cam Little
Yep.
Pat McAfee
This guy. That guy. That guy.
Don Tone
Larry.
Pat McAfee
This guy.
Darius Butler
Other guy.
Pat McAfee
Utter guy. An otter guy. Yeah. Stand for C. Should be in there. We would appreciate if Sanford Steve was in there. We do appreciate that this video was the first one they chose to put out there. Like, hey, they're putting all the same hats down and they're going in there to go to work. The College Football Playoff committee has put out another graphic. It's basically the schedule of all the games. And it's a lot. It's a lot. But just know that this is around the corner, ladies and gentlemen. Friday, December 19th is the first playoff round. December 12th, 20th playoff run. Let's go. Let's talk about. This is right around the corner. It is November 4th. It is November 4th.
Ty Schmidt
A little over a month away.
Pat McAfee
Okay, so December 19th, this entire thing starts. And then obviously we have a run all the way up until February. January 9th. That's the National. January 19th.
Darius Butler
Atlanta.
Don Tone
Yeah, there it is.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Okay. So that's. Oh, those are. Okay, so we're Slott. We're reading these as slots. We going to move song across the top? I hope not. I hope not.
Ty Schmidt
Run it back.
Pat McAfee
We're mixing things up. It's about time more schools get a shot to shine. It's a lot more fun. Start with 12, count down, crown the one. That's how we crown a CFP National Champ. Champion. And then it goes how we crown a CFP national champion. Yeah.
Ty Schmidt
Ba.
Coach B.A.
You.
Darius Butler
You didn't know this one?
Coach B.A.
No.
Pat McAfee
Well, I'll tell you what they're saying. The cuz that's you're representing Virginia Tech. And there was no conversation.
Coach B.A.
Yeah, true.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. But on that note, hey, Virginia Tech's back in the college football news. A lot of jobs that are open. A lot of jobs potentially getting hired. He signed an NDA. He's a part of the group that is literally hiring their Virginia Tech people. And I don't want to put him on a spot right now to get himself in trouble, but Virginia Tech's cooking right now. Virginia Tech is cooking. From what I've been told let's head over to Hammer. Don Don Tone, what are we expecting tonight from the CFP rankings and what are you looking at? Is your projected playoff picture right now where we stand at November 4th?
AP Town
Yeah. So this is mine right now. This is not how I think it's going to end at the end of the season. I think it's going to be how it's going to be tonight. Obviously, I think you have to go Ohio State at 1, followed by Indiana A and M and Alabama as your top four teams getting the buys. That would be as tonight. I think that's going to change. I think eventually the SEC champion will be number two. I think the Big Ten champion will be number one. And then the losers of those games potentially, potentially being three, four after that. I do not think the Big Ten will get the number one and number two team after the championship games. Are concerned that I could be wrong in that. Just thinking off the top of my head there. Then you have Oregon, Georgia, Ole Miss and BYU currently as the host. Obviously Texas Tech and BYU play this weekend, so that'll be a big one. I don't know if the Big 12 is going to get two teams. I would be shocked if the Big 12 gets two teams. So as we look at that right there, eight, nine, if, if that's how it goes tonight, this weekend is a pseudo playoff game, if you will.
Pat McAfee
Hell yeah, we're going to be down there. You think this is what the CFP is going to put out tonight? This is you saying you think this is what they put out tonight. What they will also have is what last in, first out as well on the left side. Who are some of the schools that are not on your CFP prediction here? Which one? Once again, Tone is trying to predict what he thinks they're going to put out tonight as their official playoff thing. Who are some of the schools that are left off that are not going to be happy about you or they do if you you are accurate.
AP Town
So let's start with the acc. I do not think Virginia is going to be in the playoffs at the end of the season now. They still have, they have Duke, they have Virginia Tech for B.A. i don't know. And you guys talked about on college game day. I do think they're looking for a loss. That's kind of how they've been played lately. Memphis and Tulane play this weekend. So Tulane, if you're looking to be one of those teams to get in whoever wins the American in that situation. But some of the other teams sitting right out Texas, Texas is playing really, really good now. They have A and M still. They have Georgia now.
Ty Schmidt
Guess what?
AP Town
If they win those games, Texas is going to be in. Louisville, I think, is a very, very alive in the acc. I think, I still think Georgia Tech is very alive in the ACC after a tough loss this last weekend. Utah still alive in the Big 12. I think the ACC, Big 12 still very, very alive. And then some of those teams at the bottom of the SEC as far as getting in for that, like, how about Navy?
Pat McAfee
How about Navy? How about a Power 5? Who's all from the Power 5?
AP Town
So Navy had a tough loss against North Texas last weekend. So I think Navy soils one loss. They got a big one against Notre Dame, Memphis, Tulane, North Texas, JMU would be the one. Not an American to watch to maybe potentially get that 12 seed.
Pat McAfee
All right, well, good luck to you on your prediction of what their playoff prediction will be. We appreciate the hell out of you. AP Town. Not a bad little trade deadline day.
Ty Schmidt
Not at all.
Pat McAfee
Not bad at all.
Don Tone
No.
Pat McAfee
I mean this has actually been a pretty fun little trade that deadline day, Saturday, college game day. We, you know, we. When somebody, when life throws you a situation, at some point you gotta be able to counter a little bit. I appreciate the opportunity that we had to broadcast game day on X and obviously I saw a lot of reaction from people saying, hey, this is really cool of doing this. It wasn't just me that did it. Obviously me and Jimmy Pitaro had the full conversation about this. Jimmy Pitaro headed ESPN and ultimately he said, yeah, I was gonna do it just for the last hour, just so we're all 100% clear. I have, in my deal that I've negotiated, writes the clips. Everybody has to agree on that. So anytime you see me on anything, you will know that I have negotiated in, in my deal to do do as such, the ability to clip stuff and post it onto my social media platforms. Gumpy is the guy who actually rips stuff while I'm live and posts on the social media platforms. The sell is like, hey, want to let my people know that this is happening. But also, hey, this is a clip show. If we let it be and you don't really maybe understand that as much as we have this capability. So that's kind of the negotiation. So just putting the last hour, I could have made the argument, I thought that that was a clip, you know, just put the last hour, just put the last hour of their push comes to shove, gonna piss people off. But it is a clip of the show in there, you know, is there. So I pitched the idea, talked to Jimmy. Jimmy was like, run the whole thing. This show is a unifier. This show should be seen by people. And because we have a business disagreement, we should make it as easy as possible. It was on the ESPN app in front of the paywall. It was on X. And on X, we're getting numbers back from the X people. This is people. People From. From X. 1.18 million unique viewers just on X. So it's like, that's sick. I'm happy as hell that we had the opportunity to do that. And I'm very lucky to be a part of a show that obviously draws so much interest. We appreciate it as we wrap up today on this glorious trade deadline day. Game day. Gigantic college football. Huge. NFL alive live. Let's make sure we get deals done so that we can all see all of it, please. In trade deadline day, 4 o'. Clock. Is your team getting better or is your team mailing it in? We shall see. Be a friend. Tell a friend something nice. It might change their life. We'll see you tomorrow. Goodbye. Okay. So crazy to have. Crazy to have that Monday Night Football game. Not easily accessible last night. It's not gonna last long, right?
Darius Butler
I hope not. Why wouldn't the deadline be, like, starting.
Ty Schmidt
To think it might.
Don Tone
Yeah.
Ty Schmidt
I didn't think there was any way that the Monday football game would not be on YouTube.
Don Tone
TV thought would be enough.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, exactly. Once you're past that. But, like, now we have missed a full weekend of football. Like, what. What makes them think, okay, now we really got to go. You know, it's like I. It seems like both sides are pretty dug in. I hope I'm wrong, but that's. That's the way it seems.
Pat McAfee
The only reason why both sides would be dug in is because they feel as if it's for their survival. Right. Just from negotiation in the past. And I don't want to say I've been a part of any negotiation that's anywhere near as big as this one. Okay. This is a gigantic deal. There's a lot of money on the line here, both sides, a lot of money. But it feels like there's a chance, especially with how long it is. I'm not in the middle of it. I'm not a part of it. I do not know where each side sits. But if whenever you're this dug in, it's strictly because you feel as if it is for survival. And a lot of people are going at both sides and it's like both sides, I think, feeling feel like, hey, this has to be the way this goes for us to survive. And both of them feel as if they have leverage.
Don Tone
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
So anytime both sides feel like they have leverage and they feel like they have to to survive, that's a tough deal to get done. That is a very tough deal. There's deal makers though, okay, that are out there in the world and there's bad. There's good deal makers, bad deal makers. There's professional deal makers that get brought in. It's kind of, hey, let's set our swords aside. I wonder if we're going to get to that stage. I wonder how many people are like, hey, hey, hey, we got to figure this out for the good of the people. For the good of the people. Because we are those people. And we just want everybody to enjoy the hell out of sports as easy as possible. We need more sports, not less sports. And we need more people watching sports, not less people watching sports. So let's go ahead and get that deal done. Both sides. On that note, B.A. you want to do a giveaway? You want to do a. Do you want to do some sort of challenge? Do you want to. Do you really? Yeah. What do you want to do, brother? What? I know you can't throw cuz the shoulder, elbow, arm doesn't go up. Yeah.
Coach B.A.
Maybe cornhole.
Pat McAfee
Oh, like that.
Coach B.A.
That's good.
Darius Butler
Like that twist.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I like this. I like this. Okay, so you only turn one.
Don Tone
There. How many feet is it? How many paces there? 27.
Coach B.A.
I forget.
Darius Butler
Come on. Nobody knows the dims.
Pat McAfee
I think it's 27. 20.
Ty Schmidt
27.
Darius Butler
It's a pro, right? There we go. Va. You got, bro.
Ty Schmidt
Official ACL distance.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, it is.
Coach B.A.
It is.
Darius Butler
Warm that thing up.
Don Tone
Yep. Perfect.
Pat McAfee
All right.
Coach B.A.
I don't know.
Ty Schmidt
Let's talk about it.
Pat McAfee
How. How big of a cornhole player are you?
Coach B.A.
You think I go play once in my life?
Pat McAfee
Oh, what he say?
Ty Schmidt
I never play once in my life.
Pat McAfee
Coach. Do you want to throw four? Just get a feel. All right, so why don't you throw four? Okay, You. You have definitely. You sand bag of corn, whole bag of cor. Son of a. I mean, that's exactly how you want to spin that thing flat. Everything you just did that right there is the right play. All right. Second ever. Cornhole. Okay. Oh, makes more sense now.
Ty Schmidt
May have been a bit of a fluke.
Darius Butler
Beginner's luck.
Pat McAfee
All right.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Here's your four. Now you got to feel for it. You got to make one in the hole.
Don Tone
Okay.
Pat McAfee
And you make one in the hole. 15. Oh, he just winked this son of a. One in the hole. 20 people win $500. This man won four for four on putz. Okay. Oh, for one. He's got to go one for three here and 20 people. And that one was pushed past the hole. So that one never fall.
Don Tone
Oh, no.
Pat McAfee
All right, last shot. 25 people, $500. All BA's got to do is put one cornhole bag into the corn hole. D butt. Any motivation for our coach BA here as he tries to attempt the seemingly impossible.
Darius Butler
You know what? Your best toss was? Your first one. I don't think you even thought about it. Just let that rip. Let it rip.
Jordan Poyer
Yeah, I got.
Pat McAfee
Oh, he walked it off. It was still a good day, ba. It was still a day, ba. We appreciate the hell out of you, coach ba. Yes, you certainly were. All right, we will run. Great work, man. Great work. We'll run the rest of the Cam Little. We'll run the full Cam Little interview here as we wrap up on this glorious trade deadline day. And we'll be following Schefter's Twitter account and it feels as if it happened, but Schefter says, wait a minute, my.
Coach B.A.
Phones are still blowing up.
Pat McAfee
Magic could still happen. Will it be the sizzle as we already got the steak, or do we have a chance to have maybe one of the most historic trade deadline days in the history of the NFL? If anything happens while this Cam Little interview is happening, we will certainly come right on back. We appreciate the hell out of you all for allowing us to do this for a living. Coach ba, thank you so much for traveling up here every week. We love your vibes. Live from Hammer. Don Don AP Tone, we appreciate you. Why don't you come on over here, boys in the back. Great work this week. Rushmore on X most recent episode is don't Dynasties. Stephen A. Smith, Al Michaels. Ari and Ben traveled down a road of sports greatness and it is fantastic. And anytime you get people talking about something that they love, especially in this particular case, the legends of the things talk about something that they love. The amount of information that just kind of falls out of their mouths into your ears is a magical thing. Rushmore on X has been special to be a part of. Ari and Ben should be very proud of the show they put together and talk And Bailey and Foxy the Amount of work that's been put in the back end. Dirty with the graphics. Debone with the graphics as well. I'm incredibly proud to be a part of it. Everybody's kicking ass. And on that note, be a friend. Tell a friend something nice might change your life. We're in this thing together. Team on me, ba. Anything for the squad.
Coach B.A.
Great show. Better one next week.
Pat McAfee
Hell yeah. Cam Little on the other side. Team on three. One, two, three. Team goodbye.
Cam Little
This is Kevin Clark for manscaped.

Cam Little

Pat McAfee
Up like, like this.
Cam Little
You don't wake up like that.
Pat McAfee
You gotta do. You gotta get the stubble going.
Cam Little
You gotta get rid of that awful mustache I had last spring. Listen, I tried. I thought the mustache over the. Over the stubble was a good look.
Pat McAfee
Not a good look.
Cam Little
It wasn't a good look.
Pat McAfee
You have to learn that the hard way.
Cam Little

Pat McAfee
Ladies and gentlemen, we have breaking news on this trade deadline day. The New York jets have traded away enough other all pro pro Bowler. Quinnan Williams, the absolutely legendarily entertaining and beast of a defensive lineman has been traded from the New York jets to the Dallas Cowboys. First Sauce Gardner comes to Indianapolis. Now Quinn and Williams goes to the Dallas Cowboys. And Jerry Jones said last night, I got a trade or two in my back pocket. I don't know if I want to pull him out. Logan Wilson gets traded from the Cincinnati Bengals, the middle linebacker down to Dallas this morning. And now Quinn and Williams is on his way to the big D and Jerry world. Quinn and Williams is a beast. Yeah, Quinn Williams is a dog by all accounts. What did the Dallas Cowboys add and why do you think they did it? Debo?
Darius Butler
Well, we know why they did it. We talk. We showed the numbers that they had earlier in the show with historically bad numbers on defense. And this is an absolute game record. You mentioned it earlier whenever you can get pressure or some game record records up front with a four man rush that's going to help a defense tremendously. You added Logan Wilson on the, on the second level and now this is a, an all kind of an all pro, a legendary kind of game wrecker up in the middle of that defense. So this is a big pickup for Jerry Jones.
Pat McAfee
Joining us now, senior NFL Insider for espn, Adam Schefter. I don't think the day's done. I think there's more to come. You said I, I don't know if you knew was going to be coming from the New York Jets. They're doing full rebuild right now. Is that what we're seeing in New York?
Adam Schefter
Yeah, I knew that one was coming. They've been working on Quinn and Williams all day. That was the one that the Dallas Cowboys work and that's why when Sauce came down I thought Quinn and was getting traded and all of a sudden it was Sauce which was unexpected at that moment. And now they're trading Quinn and Williams. It'll be at least a first round pick. @ least a first round pick. And we're waiting to see the exact compensation. I'm literally going to hear any moment now. So as soon as I get it, I'll let you know there, Pat.
Pat McAfee
Okay, appreciate that. So the jets obviously acquired two first rounders from the Indianapolis Colts just about an hour or two ago. Now they're going to pick up another first rounder and you talked about them being in the quarterback market either this offseason or the next one. They're doing full rebuild over there. Did they expect maybe let's see how the team goes. When do you think they decided that they were going to, you know, maybe completely move on from their young pillars and start a new in New York. Was that before the year started or as this year continue to roll?
Adam Schefter
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. It's not before the year because you're going through the year. You don't expect to be 1 in 7 or whatever they are at this particular moment. But they are, they're in that spot right now. And so they just figured okay, let's, let's, we might as well just start building this up and get, get this, get more picks. They're in the quarterback market now obviously.
Pat McAfee
Okay, so Jerry obviously picked up a first rounder from the Green Bay packers with the trade of Micah Parsons and he chit chatted about the number of picks that he had whenever he made that play. What are we Expecting this to be worth. You said at least one first rounder. The New York jets all of a sudden are about to become the bells of the ball come draft time around, you know, the entire NFL, I'd assume, you know.
Adam Schefter
Yep. Hold on a second. By the way, the, the, the, the, the, the Quinn and Williams trade is not done, but they're trying to get it finalized. They're trying to get it.
Pat McAfee
Oh, hold the phone. You know, we got a dot, eyes, cross, T's. You know what the hardest touchdown to score is?
Coach B.A.
What's that?
Pat McAfee
Well, without the tush push. Goal line.
Cam Little
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
You know, it's those final inches that are always the most difficult. Difficult because we got everything else done. Are we going to let these things hold up the thing? Yeah, we actually will. We're watching that. Maybe with not being able to watch Monday Night Football now in this trade, he's assuming it's going to get done. How long they've been working it. You've been talking about Quinn and Williams.
Adam Schefter
This has been in the works. Well, it's been going on for a little while now and there were multiple teams in on him. And you know the jets, by the way. It's not done yet. It's not done. We're waiting, but I would think that both sides get this far along at 211 with the trade deadline coming up in one hour and 49 minutes, they'll figure out a way to get it done, but it's. It's not done. They're trying to get it finalized.
Pat McAfee
Okay, so. Trying to get it finalized. Maybe money is a part of this entire thing. D. But has a question for you.
Darius Butler
Yeah. Where is Quinn and Williams at with his contract? I know he's on a new deal, I think two years ago, rookie extension. Where is he at with that?
Adam Schefter
I. I don't. I don't even know right now. I haven't checked on that debut. Like I would think he's good, but when you go to a new team, you're going to have some leverage because. Because the team is going to be giving it up an awful lot to get you. So that'll be advantageous for Quinn and Williams. But I don't even know how much time he's got left on his deal. I haven't looked yet.
Pat McAfee
Okay. Are you in a diner right now? What do you have going on right now?
Adam Schefter
Espn. I'm sitting here in a hall, just hanging out here waiting to do our trade special. 3 o' clock as more information is coming in here.
Pat McAfee
All right. We appreciate the hell out of you. Shafter. Schefter says deal is not done. Other insiders reporting the deal is done. Have a little bit of a source off, but it sounds like Quinn and Williams is headed to the Dallas to get it done.
Adam Schefter
But they're still. They're still processing it right now.
Ty Schmidt
Still processing.
Don Tone
Okay.
Pat McAfee
Jerry Jones knows that his defense just needs a little bit of assistance. Makes play for Logan Wilson. Now Quinn and Williams. What is this message from Jerry Jones and how do you think the Dallas Cowboys react going forward?
Coach B.A.
It's huge. I mean, Quinn, Williams, one of the best young defensive linemen in the league and I don't know what the hell the jets are doing.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, restart. They're accruing on those rounds.
Coach B.A.
That's cool. Who the hell are these guys are.
Pat McAfee
Getting Quinn and Williams? They'll be able to draft another one. Yeah, yeah.
Coach B.A.
They just run off trees, you know, soft gardeners. They just run off trees. I got known players that are young and legit and I'm giving them away for the unknown. How many? To me, it doesn't make any sense.
Pat McAfee
You no sense. Yeah, but whenever you traded their first fourth rounder for Gronk, you could have got him. You know what I mean?
Coach B.A.
That's different when talking about fourth rounders, brother.
Pat McAfee
No, but first rounders too. I feel this way and I assume coaches feel this way as well. And I don't know why if that's why not as many ex players are running teams or making decisions. But it's like with the amount of guys that I've seen get drafted that were supposed to be really good, come into our building and just be ass. And it's like, okay, are we willing to roll the dice on a proof proven guy or this guy that has a lot of potential? Now, there's been guys that have come in and been great. I'm not saying that's not the case, but if you look at the law of averages and the percentages of people that hit and people that miss in the NFL draft, it's like there's a lot more misses than there is hits. So you get a guy that's a hit, it's like we hit on a.
Darius Butler
Guy, especially that organization, we hit on.
Pat McAfee
A guy and everybody loves him. And he's funny. Yeah, he is incredibly entertaining. Ari Mirov at MySports Update. He's reporting the expected trade is expected. Expected trade? We're not doing that. We're taking that down. We're not doing any expected trades here because did you expect Quinn and Williams to be traded? Absolutely not.
Ty Schmidt
Well, with your point on like the first round picks too, like the last couple years in the draft process, when we've talked to these people who are draft experts and put all this time in, they've basically said like a lot of organizations only have 10 to 15 first round grades on the players in the first round. So it's like if you're, if you look at yourself and see that you're going to be picking in the back half of the first round, like is that really as valuable as it was 10 years ago? Pre nil. When it's like, hey, guys are maybe staying in school longer and there aren't as many bonafide first round picks in every draft.
Pat McAfee
Jay Glazer back on the news. What's he say?
Ty Schmidt
Teams are finalizing compensation, but as of now, Cowboys trading a second round pick this year and a first round pick next year for Pro Bowl. D tackle. Quinn and Williams scoop it.
Pat McAfee
Thank you, Jay Glazer for getting the big bottom. I like that he kind of poked himself back out into the world. Say, you know what, it's a Tuesday. I might want to drop a little something on something.
Ty Schmidt
He still runs the Tri State area.
Pat McAfee
If he wants to. Yeah, that's kind of the decision that Jay Glazer's got to make, especially now that he's married. Shout out to the Tennessee Twins. And we obviously love Jay Glazer on this particular program. Been around a long time. So a second round pick and a first round pick for Quinn and Williams allegedly is what's being reported. Still figuring it out. What is that mean? I'm not. What does that mean? What could that mean? They're still trying to figure it out.
Coach B.A.
It's just dollars and cents and contracts. You know, it's lawyer, lawyer talk now.
Pat McAfee
Okay. And you know, lawyer talk is tough to understand. That's why you need to get other lawyers and your lawyers need to talk to their lawyers and these things like to just talk amongst their own language. And then all of a sudden you're sitting there, is this thing.
Darius Butler
Do we, can we watch Monday Night Football?
Pat McAfee
Can we please, can we, we please watch one?
Coach B.A.
Hopefully my, hopefully my lawyer is the number one pick.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Yeah. You would certainly hope that.
Don Tone
All right.
Pat McAfee
Quinn and Williams to the Dallas Cowboys. Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts. AD Mitchell back to the New York jets from the Indianapolis Colts during the Sauce Gardner trade. Logan Wilson goes to the Dallas Cowboys. Draymond Jones goes from the Titans to the Baltimore Ravens.
Ty Schmidt
Jacoby Myers.
Pat McAfee
Jacoby Myers, huge trade from the Las Vegas, Vegas Raiders to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Don Tone
Shahid to the Seahawks.
Pat McAfee
Rasheed Shahid from the Saints to the Seattle Seahawks. Is that everything?
Ty Schmidt
I think so, as of everything. From today.
Don Tone
Yeah, from today.
Pat McAfee
All right, without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, we had a chance to catch up with the guy who kicked the longest field goal in the history of the NFL this past weekend. We tried to do this a couple times. Now this man brings good news, big news, especially whenever he's on this show. Cam Little, ladies and gentlemen, gentlemen, the man who holds the longest field goal in the history of the NFL.
Pat McAfee
There it is. Yeah, we always get it wrong. Yeah, yeah, we try our best. Cam, thank you for joining us. And you said you've always wanted to be on the show. I, since watching you kick a ball, has always been. I have always been very fascinated by how you create so much leg speed. So let's just, let's dive into this. I don't think you're like the most jacked guy. I don't think you're.
Cam Little
No, that's a very fair statement.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Little is your last name. I don't think you're tiny, but you're certainly not one of these massive guys. Have you always had an incredibly strong leg? Like in soccer whenever you were growing up, were you always the free kick taker? Always had a strong leg. And how'd you get to this point?
Cam Little
Yes, I think that's where I kind of first started. I was always good at taking free kicks and penalty kicks and all that stuff kind of tied into me learning how to kick a football and obviously going to Cole's camps. Growing up, I never really had the fastest leg and I developed a little later in my high school career when I was going to these camps, I saw guys that had faster legs, legs than me. And I would always ask him, like, how are you guys getting your legs faster? Like, because at the end of the day, that's what gets you the most power on the ball. And so, you know, started developing a faster leg and now it's like my best trade as a kicker because Obviously I'm a 6 foot one, 175 pound guy that cannot squat a huge amount. So everyone always asks me, what, how do you kick the ball? So far, I think ball contact and leg speed is the key to kicking the ball so far and high.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, you're hitting the ball ball sweet every time you're hitting that ball sweet, which is not easy. You know, Vinitari, I was very lucky to work alongside. Obviously everybody in the kicking world knows Adam Venator. Vinnie. Whenever I got there, you know, I used to be a kicker in college and I had a strong leg, but I had no idea where the ball was going. I do believe this generation of kickers bombing it further than ever. This was going to be a make like that obviously has to be the mindset, but 68 is so you're so much closer to the other uprights than the ones that you're kicking to. What is the mentality as you're walking out there, Cam?
Cam Little
Yeah, I mean, you kind of go out there and Logan, obviously Logan and Ross both do a great job of prepping me for this stuff. They, Logan always thinks I hit the ball the best when I'm swinging the hardest. And so I told him right as I was going out there to spot it, I said, I'm swinging hard at this football. I'm making sure that I'm going to drill this thing. And so, you know, I spot the ball and I'm looking down at the spot and I tell him that and he's like, hit that ball hard. Ball hit it hard. And obviously stayed left middle and just stuck dead straight down that left middle the whole time. And you know, you go out there and you prep so much from deep in practice and you know you're working with your op for fun back there at 60 plus sometimes. And then for it to finally come to fruition again was so cool.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. In a real game too. They won't give you credit for that 70 yarder, you know, they won't go you. They won't give you credit. We will Obviously, because we've seen it before, but 68 in the history books forever, brother. At least for the time being. Now, talking about hitting that 68 yarder last night, there was an op. Go ahead, Tone.
AP Town
Yeah, Cam, I don't know if you're watching the game at all or not, but when, when Aubrey goes back to 68 and we had mentioned it yesterday on the show, we like, oh, 68. You know, this could get broken this season. Aubrey's going tonight and then he steps back to 68. Is he one of the guys? Like when you go back and you, you're like, oh, no. Like, is he going to do it tonight? Is he going to top me tonight?
Cam Little
Yeah, I, I actually wasn't watching the game, but I had got a FaceTime call from someone and they're like, dude, you're watching this game right now. And I was like, no, what's happening? He's like, aubrey's about to attempt a 68. And I was like, yeah, one day.
Pat McAfee
I get one day. That is a funny 63. 63, live forever. Then 64, then we get to 66. You hit 68. It almost only had a 24 hour shelf life. That is a wild thing to think about.
Cam Little
Yeah, it's actually crazy to think about. And I, I was talking to the media the other day and I was like, you know, this record's going to get broken this season. I, I want to live through this. Right? You know, I, obviously, selfishly, I want the record, but there's so many guys around the NFL that are so good at kicking footballs now that I have a feeling it will get broken. You look at Brandon Aubrey, for instance, you look At Jake Bates, 64 twice last year in the UFL, he's hit 60 plus with the Lions. And so you look at guys that have that like, like strength in it. It's honestly just impressive.
Pat McAfee
I think everybody has the legs. Well, not everybody. I saw a couple people come up short and then, you know, some people were getting the QB ball in there instead of the K ball. Let's talk about the balls a little bit. How's it feel going in? And I know you're just a young ass, you know, kick. You have no idea what it was like back in the day, okay? You don't know what it was like with the brand new balls coming in to the games. But this year, obviously, huge changes. The cable. Everybody's talking about it from your perspective. Can you give your take on the K ball being brought into the game as opposed to a brand New ball.
Cam Little
Yeah, I can. I. Thankfully we have the best equipment staff that we have a guy that is so good at breaking in footballs. Like last year, you know, we would get him obviously that rule change where you can get it through the week and you can use it three weeks and it's got to be out. But last year you had to break in, obviously, you know, the ball 30 minutes before the game, you got a guy in there breaking that thing in. Like it's, it's. Yeah, like literally sitting there sweating and drenching sweat trying to break in the football. And so our guy did a really good job last year breaking the footballs in. And so we had a good cable last year and I thought, you know, going into this year it does give you that bit of edge of you can hit the ball just about three or four yards farther I think. But I don't think it's enough to give guys, not give guys enough credit because I think guys are just, yes, the cable is going to make you kick the ball ball farther. But I think guys in the NFL are just getting more talented. I mean you look, Brandon Aubrey just. We'll speak on him for a SEC. He's had four 60 plus yarders this 360 plus yards this season or something like that. And so. And he was doing that last year too. He did 66 in preseason last year. And that's with the old ball. So I think guys are just getting more talented and specialists from high school to college to the NFL are just getting that more talented. And I think that probably has more to do with it than the cable. That's my personal opinion now.
Pat McAfee
I think you're accurate in saying that now from you said three to four more yards for the ball coming in for the. We talk about brand new ball, it's like 15 yards, brand new ball out of the box.
Cam Little
15 out of the box is a lot different.
Ty Schmidt
Yes.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, that's a nightmare mentally too though, I think going onto the field knowing that the ball is a ball that you've kicked before, mentally, yeah, I think that probably helps. And I would like to say as a. I'm 38 now. How old are you?
Cam Little
22.
Ty Schmidt
Jesus Christ.
Pat McAfee
Youngest kicker ever drafted in the NFL by the way. He was youngest guy ever dog in the NFL.
Coach B.A.
Absolutely.
Pat McAfee
Absolute beast. With that being said, not easy to get drafted at the kicking position, but like I kicked soccer ball like 124 miles an hour.
Coach B.A.
Okay.
Pat McAfee
I kicked like a 70 yard field goal when I was in high school. Okay. So I had a Very strong leg. I think people would say, hey, this guy had a very strong leg. Now did I know where it was headed? No, I mean that thing was, you know, there's a good chance that thing was traveling. But nowadays your guys leg strength is just, it's. I don't even think I'd be top 15, top 20 in the league right now. And you talk about how like the evolution it all becomes from what perfect perfecting technique throughout high school with Jamie Cole and Nicole brothers and then also exercising and everything. Do you think there's going to be a peak for this? Like, do you think you guys are going to continue to go because you're 22? You can, you're only going to get stronger somehow if this really works out.
Cam Little
I think even from last season to this season, I think my leg has just gotten that bit stronger. Like, yeah, I was hitting from 60 plus last year, but. But I think 70.
Pat McAfee
That one would have been good from like 72 you hit there in Las Vegas. I think I hit the net, bro. That hit the net.
Cam Little
And so like you, you, you make that little jump and it was like, dude, I didn't think my leg could get stronger from last year, but it has. And like you said, guys are just going to keep setting the peak higher and higher. Eventually we're going to see someone hit a 75 yarder. So I think it's just evolving and I think it will just keep peeking until eventually can't peak anymore. When that will be, we have no clue because there's going to be someone that's going to set it again.
Pat McAfee
Feels like it's not within the next 10 years with your little ass coming. Also having a great team around you and coaching staff is a part of it. Go ahead, con man.
Don Tone
Yeah, Cam, how's your relationship with Liam Cohen? We've kind of heard a few different coaches talk this past week. Matt Lafleur says, you know, he doesn't speak to the kicker. We saw Sean Payton, you know, bark at Will Lutz before his game winner. Hey, right through. What is your relationship with Liam Conan? Did you get that shiner from the celebration after hitting that 68 yarder?
Cam Little
I'll answer that question first. I got bit by a dog when I was five. I was eating a baloney sandwich and got bit by a dog. Jumped up, tried to get my baloney.
Pat McAfee
Sandwich, but it didn't.
Cam Little
It didn't get my baloney sandwich. Bit me in the eye.
Pat McAfee
Hell yeah. You, you finished that baloney sandwich. Exactly, exactly. You did all right.
Cam Little
No, but Man, Liam has been such a good, just head coach to me, and I know sometimes you don't have the best relationship as far as head coach specialist. They kind of want to leave you alone and let you do your thing. But I think he instills a lot of confidence in me throughout the week, throughout prep, throughout pregame, and, you know, we have a very good relationship with each other and, you know, throughout, you know, kind of prep this week, you know, during field goal period, he's out there, nice operation, nice kicks, you know, nice punts.
Ty Schmidt
Look.
Cam Little
So that's something for me that is huge to hear out of my head coach because as a specialist unit, we want to know that our head coach is involved with us. We want him to be, you know, acting like, knowing it's a big deal. And so Liam is a superstar about that. And I can't thank him enough as a head coach because he does care a lot about us as specialists, and that one on one relationship is forever indebted.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I'm happy you're an athlete. You know, some of these kickers, you know, you've been those kicking camps. Not. Not athletes, you know, and that's like, who these coaches like, I'm not talking to the kicker. I'm not talking to kicker. You're treating them as if they're not athletes. Like, hey, these guys are just coming out to do there. You can tell how much the coach respects the athleticism of the kicker with how they interact with each other. LaFleur saying, I don't talk to kickers is like, okay, he's a. That's exactly. That's exactly how I would view this vinitary. Imagine lafleur saying, I don't talk that a bit of terrible. I don't talk to you either. Like, what are we even talking about? So I respect and appreciate that. And I don't know if you heard Liam Cohen say he felt like he won the super bowl after you hit that. He said. He said it felt like we won the super bowl after he hit that, because the excitement now, you guys had to go out in the second half and overtime and go win that game. And you're able to do that. But I love how much Liam has supported you and I like how many opportunities he's given you because of the amount of shit he's seen you do in practice. On that note, you made history, brother. It'll live on forever. DBUT has a question for you.
Darius Butler
Absolutely. We had a chance to go down Canton hall of Fame and they do a great Job preserving different things from the game. And you said history, you made history. So have you put any thought about or do they just come in and take what they're going to put in the hall of Fame to be enshrined.
Cam Little
Forever, Man, I'm definitely keeping the football. That's 100%. And I'm still deciding if I'm going to give him my jersey or not. But I think I might let it go and let Kant have that one.
Pat McAfee
Let the jersey roll, bro. Let the jersey roll. Canton. Dude, the fact they'll put your ass. They'll have lights on. Oh, yeah, they'll have a picture of you.
Darius Butler
Do it right.
Pat McAfee
Keep the ball. For sure have that.
Cam Little
I still have the ball from the 70 as well. It's actually, I was telling my coordinator, my ball, I haven't put it on a plaque yet. It's actually sitting in my pantry right next to some protein bars in my pantry. I haven't moved it yet.
Pat McAfee
So he's 22 years old. This guy's 22. He's got no. This guy's got no idea about life. Okay, we need to get those things in some frames. We need those things lit up with led. We need them put on the wall because you're, you're doing special stuff, brother. Legitimately, very special stuff. It's been an honor to kind of watch you go about doing your thing. 22 year old, this guy has no idea about life at this point. Who cares? Ty has a question for you.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, Cam, speaking of all that, you know, you being an athlete and the relationship you have with coach Cohen, like at, at this point, you know, if you're going back to 70 people or, you know, you're kind of in that Aubrey territory, if you maybe talk to him a little bit, like, hey, maybe we do like a fake field goal pass here. You give me the opportunity to throw a 70 yard touchdown or maybe I just, I tuck and run and I give a couple people a few shoulders to chew on, you know, and maybe I get a 70 yard touchdown run. Like, is there any of that kind of stuff going on behind the scenes now, man?
Cam Little
I think there's a funny story, actually. Me and Logan, my holder and the punter, we're talking about trying to, you know, what does a fake field goal look like? And I was like, dude, do you think I could ever run a fake field goal? And he goes, if you ever had the ball in your hands, I would be extremely worried. One, because I think you would get broken in half. And two, you can't throw, so I think we might stay away from the fake.
Pat McAfee
Logan's a beast, though. Logan is a beast.
Cam Little
He's an athlete. You talk about a guy that's an athlete, man, that guy talk about his punting. That dude is unbelievable. I know. It's. We're talking about fake field goals. That guy is unbelievable at playing the football and throw. Throwing the football. So to have a guy like that in my room, that's leading me, and to have a guy like Ross snapping it two time all pro snapper and a pro punter last year, both pro bowlers, like, they set me up for success. And those guys are elite at what they do, so it makes my job a lot easier.
Pat McAfee
That's a good place to be when you got a snapper and a holder, they're all pro alongside of you. And then you got a kicker that can hit from 68 and 70. Liam Cohen's living a good life. Whenever it comes to special teams, please tell Logan Cook we're massive fans. That big country bomb balls, dude.
Don Tone
He can.
Pat McAfee
Man.
Cam Little
He is unbelievable.
Pat McAfee
I'll tell you what, Jacksonville is not a bad place to call home either. I know you guys.
Cam Little
Yeah, A lot of fun.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. You're 22. All right. Enjoy your life. All right, ladies and gentlemen, kicker for the Jacksonville Jaguars, record setter, history maker, ladies and gentlemen, Cam Little. Had a bad.
