Hello beautiful people and welcome to our humble abode, the Thunderdome on this magical overreaction. Monday, November 10, 2025. This program begins right now. Football is awesome and we had a great weekend of ball and we can't wait to dive into all of it. Now, first things first, we'd like to say happy birthday to the marine Corps turns 250 years old today. Older than the United States of America. Started as a militia in a bar and now it's a of badass dogs who obviously say, yeah, I'll go first. The fight is their mantra. Oorah, kill, slay. Happy birthday to them. And also big announcement. Tomorrow we will be live from Parris island which is the marines boot camp for the eastern half of the United States of America down in South Carolina for Veterans Day. We'll be down there and we're going to be the, I think the only show that'll be live from a military base tomorrow. And I think we're potentially the only show that's ever been live from Parris island, obviously the home of the marines and everything that we'll be kind of showcasing and chit chatting about tomorrow will hopefully be one big thank you to all the folks that signed a line saying they were willing to go to war for this particular country that I'm lucky to call home. And I can't thank you all enough for allowing us to do this. And tomorrow should be pretty epic. There's going to be a lot of pop ins and a lot of features from a lot of different people and it should be exciting. So happy birthday to the marines and tomorrow we will certainly be honoring our vets in a big way from Parris island as we get a chance to chit chat about the greatest thing on earth which is sports, sports, sports. Unify the world. It is what makes everything special. In this past weekend we had a good one. The toxic tables here at Boston, Connor and at Ty Schmidt, 1/2 of the Hammer Cowboys AP Tony's here. The beard's coming back.
Boston Connor
It is coming back.
Pat McAfee
It's good, it's good to see like it the mirror. You're saying.
Con Man
Yeah, that's a good length right there.
Boston Connor
Because you know, found out, didn't have a chin.
Pat McAfee
Forgot you found that out. Yeah. Okay.
Boston Connor
I didn't know one day I, I used to.
Pat McAfee
You think? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
Boston Connor
18 year old Tony.
Pat McAfee
Oh, young Bill Carr in the making out.
Boston Connor
I don't know what happened. Got soft but here we are.
Pat McAfee
No, I think it's because you have such a good beard. Your Chin said, I'm never coming back. Look how good this beard is. Let me go ahead and take some time off.
Boston Connor
Good call.
Pat McAfee
On that note, big things happening back in in Pittsburgh this weekend. College game day. We'll be going to the University of Pittsburgh in the city of Pittsburgh on a Saturday for a full college game day for the first time in 20 years as Notre Dame still number five ranked team in the country, still very much in College Football Playoff conversation, National championship hunt. They're becoming the team that they hope that they would be early in the season. Couple tough teams they played, you know, losing Texas A and M at home. Texas A and M, the only undefeated team in the sec still.
Ty Schmidt
Okay.
Pat McAfee
They lose to Miami. At the time, Miami was a wagon. Now, some things have happened in Miami throughout the season, but at the time, those losses I thought were devastating. Then you watch those two teams play. It's like, maybe not that bad of losses early. And also we would like more teams to play good teams, especially early in the season. So maybe we don't punish Notre Dame for the first two weeks of the season. Maybe we kind of let it all play out. They've been kicking everybody's ass, and now they got pit. Pitt's still very much in it for the ACC title. Pitt can make the College Football Playoff. Yeah, nobody talks about Pitt. Pitt still has a road to the College Football Playoff and the ACC Championship. And Narduzzi and the boys are the same pit team that, you know, they're a tough bunch. And their fans, I think, are excited for Saturday college game day. Coming outside of acreshear Stadium down there on the North Shore, just a few yards from Rivers Casino. Okay, that's why I had to mention it, because whenever I saw the location, I was like, oh, can certainly get to Rivers Casino there quickly, because Rivers Casino is a place downtown on North Shore, right next to all the stadiums, basically. And whenever you come in a town, you go there, you just kind of tip Pittsburgh. You say, hey, you know, thanks for having me this weekend. Please look over me and bless me. And you lose. I don't think I've ever walked out of Rivers Casino as a winner, but it feels like a ritual. Just go in there and say, thank you, Pittsburgh. Okay. Walk around, say hello to some people, lose some money, win some, give it right back somewhere else, and then go have a time in Pittsburgh that's right around the corner. This is going to be pretty epic. I do believe a lot of Irish people in Pittsburgh as well, so who knows how many Notre Dame fans will be There. But I know the University of Pittsburgh students are certainly jacked up, and I'm excited to get back over there. And I think there'll be a lot of good beards. If not good beards will be good jawlines, you know, as you kind of came and go as.
Boston Connor
Yeah, it's a good beard city. Yes. There are a lot of Notre Dame fans that live in Pittsburgh. The guy on the right in that graphic, Mason Heintjel, the quarterback for Pitt. True freshmen. They are undefeated since he has taken over the starting job this year. He's a bit of a phenom, so, yeah, it'll be a good game. And Pitt only one loss in the acc with a lot of ACC teams that have one loss and they're going.
Pat McAfee
For the playoffs, and this does not count as an ACC game for them. But obviously, if they were to lose any others, they have no bid to get in there. So them beating Notre Dame, massive for the University of Pittsburgh, especially a freshman quarterback there. And then Notre Dame has to win to make it. So huge stakes. Other big games around the country, you know, Texas, Georgia, I believe is happening down there in Athens. That's going to be gigantic. I think Ole Miss is hosting Florida. I think that's going to be a big game. I think the ticket price is going insane for down there in Ole Miss, so college football should deliver. But it'll be nice to be in a town that, you know, hasn't had it in like 20 years. A football town. Yeah. And a lot of people watch some pick games and maybe see yellow seats. You know, maybe it's not filled up down there.
AJ Hawk
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
But Pittsburgh's a football city. Notre Dame's coming to town.
Boston Connor
It'll be field.
Pat McAfee
I think it's going to be.
Con Man
Are you worried?
Pat McAfee
Me?
Con Man
Yeah. About the wv?
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Con Man
WVU pits ties.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. The way it was worded there by the. The social media post. Pat's coming home. It's. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Pittsburgh Pitt definitely not. No, not at all. Complete. Awesome. You had good times in Oakland? Yeah, certainly we all have. I. I mean, I think I've probably had more good times in Oakland than most of the people in school. Probably right now at the University of Pittsburgh. Obviously, I have a lot of friends that went to Pitt being from Pittsburgh, but. Yeah. In the whole sports thing. Yeah. And who won the backyard ball this year? Okay. So I'm going in there in a good spot, but they certainly have some things that they could certainly say to me as well. Yeah, I'm excited for It. I'm excited for the job. I'm just pump. Just like with Texas Tech Lubbock. I'm excited to go to a place that hasn't had in a long time, you know, like learning about new places, new traditions. Like, Lubbock was insane. Dude, they were so nice to us. Like, they were very, very thankful we were there. Very appreciative, everybody. I mean, Joe McGuire comes, they bring a damn horse inside. Centennial champion that's just right on the show, let alone like everything else that was going there. It was like they were so thankful and hospitable and they wanted to showcase the world. Like, yeah, we love ball here. Like, that's basically what they wanted to do. And it was an honor to be down there. And it lived up to the Texas Tech fans. There were signs that were saying, like, Mormons versus alcoholics. Like, they were like, proud. Yeah, like, hey, we can hammer some drinks around here. And they certainly did great catch up with Danny Amendola. He was around there. Got a chance to meet all the people that have kind of pieced this entire thing together. And they were all incredibly kind. They love ball down there and they got the team and the money behind them and the community, I think to be special for a long, long time. They get a huge win over BYU in the 12 race and Texas Tech is for real. But it was nice to, you know, kind of experience new college football stuff for me, just selfishly sitting on the stage there, new to the entire world. It was cool to experience that and what they're about. And obviously I know Pittsburgh very well, the city. I don't know a lot of pitch traditions in football stuff well at all. Okay. I know if Darrell Revis catches a punt from me, he makes everybody misses, score, scores a touchdown. I know that's a tradition. Seems like. I think he's potentially going to be in the building this weekend. Aaron Donald, I think going to be over there. He's getting his number retired. Yeah, I think Tony Dorset is going to be there. Okay.
Ty Schmidt
I think bringing out the big guns.
Pat McAfee
I think it's going to be a. This not for game. This is for the. This is for the game. I don't know what's going on with game day yet, but like, yeah, there's a lot. And then let alone I think shady potentially. I think there it was on an email where I saw the name. It's like, I think Tyler Palco is going to be.
Darius J. Butler
Hold the phone, you know.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I saw an email, I saw his name also got a message. I Think from Paco family said, hey, listen, as you know, he loves his team. Tyler Palko loves University of Pittsburgh. And just over 20 years ago, you know, Tyler Palko threw for six touchdowns against Notre Dame. Oh yeah, Tyler Palko with his sweet hair and incredible looks. And then what's that? What do you do after that?
Boston Connor
What do you say on national tv?
Pat McAfee
Drop the F bomb on live tv.
Ty Schmidt
It was awesome. I still remember it like it was yesterday.
Pat McAfee
Tyler Palco. So I think there's going to be, you know, it should be an amazing weekend downtown, North Shore there. And I don't know if it's just going to be pit people there. I assume the city's going to show up, but I think there's potentially a lot of Notre Dame people are going to come through as well. So it should be a pretty electrifying environment. Notre Dame has always been good at college of game day since I've been on it. Every time we go up to Notre Dame, it's like the biggest crowd of all time and their fans are literally everywhere. So I think Pittsburgh has a chance to be epic this weekend and we're going to be showcasing local food as well. Only the best. That's what happened to your chin. That's what happened to your jaw when you started slandering good things from the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I've never done that.
AJ Hawk
You did.
Pat McAfee
That's when your jaw said I'm not going to be a of this and quit. That's when your jaw quit on you. You need to know that things were.
Boston Connor
A little too good around here.
Kirk Herbstreet
I had to stir it up a bit.
Pat McAfee
Well, all right, Rudy. Subs will be obviously okay this weekend. Cannot wait for that. And maybe a couple other paisano foods. Make some appearances in there. It should be a great weekend.
Ty Schmidt
Stop. Anything but that's a good question, OG.
Boston Connor
Perhaps neither of those places exist.
Pat McAfee
Hold on. Hold, please.
Con Man
Wait, wait. I'm not saying that. Please, I'm not saying that.
Pat McAfee
Well, nine year NFL vet, a man who has a good football brain, but clearly those things.
Darius J. Butler
Maybe it was the fact that came out of Caboli's cargo shorts.
Pat McAfee
But yeah, eating out of Caboli's nature's microwave, he called his cargo shorts his pocket that was sitting there for four hours is when it's a bad thing. You need to change your tune right now when you're talking about Rudy's because this no jaw having guy started saying it the other day. The city of Pittsburgh started reacting. Now you're starting to throw it in there.
Darius J. Butler
What did the city say what? Did they agree or disagree?
Pat McAfee
There was a couple notable moths over there in Pittsburgh that said, excuse me, maybe Tone's onto something. I was like, no, he is not. I don't know if I don't like this. This is what's wrong with modern society, okay? Everybody wants to be a part of something, even if they don't believe it. They just want, you know, I do want to be a part of something. I'm going to lie completely. Tone started this thing. Foxy spotlighted it, amplified it. Okay. And then you got people saying, you know what? Yeah, I've been thinking the same thing. Jumping on board. I'm like, no, you haven't. Yeah. Rudy subs the best subs in Pittsburgh and we will certainly all be enjoying them. Can I say something real quick?
Boston Connor
I just want to say something real quick because Connor said it. I looked it up. There's not one Fazoli's in all of Pennsylvania.
Con Man
Okay, well, then we knew that. Nor should there be at least Booga to bat bowl.
Pat McAfee
Let's move along. Okay, Pittsburgh, the only thing we need to be talking about is the Steelers. Am I right? What a snooze fest.
Boston Connor
They can't hurt us anymore.
Pat McAfee
A nine year NFL vet, Darius J. Butler is here with terrible food takes and incredible football takes. And that's what he's here for. You look very cool with a hat. I don't know what's going. Lost and found.
Darius J. Butler
It's always race season.
Pat McAfee
How's that? What is that, folks?
Darius J. Butler
We're coming to the end of a great season, boys.
Con Man
All right.
Pat McAfee
We're right in the middle of it, actually. We got eight more weeks.
Darius J. Butler
No, no, F1 season. The pinnacle. Obviously football is the real pinnacle, but this is the pinnacle. Motorsport.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, they're doing it right now.
Darius J. Butler
Oh, they are doing it.
Pat McAfee
When? When? When?
Darius J. Butler
They just did it in Brazil. Yes.
Pat McAfee
Now I don't have YouTube TV, you know, I guess I can't. What's that?
Darius J. Butler
F1TV.
Pat McAfee
Oh, they're trying to gouge their fans. Okay. I don'. I don't like that at all. Okay, let's move along to a Sport. Congrats to G1 having a great season. Nobody saw it. No. Who won?
Darius J. Butler
Lando Norris again.
Pat McAfee
This guy cheats every time.
Con Man
Race, though, also do not pass on congratulations.
Pat McAfee
Who? Lando did not.
Con Man
No, me to F1.
Ty Schmidt
Okay.
Pat McAfee
You're saying everybody else saying congratulations or claps. You say not tied.
Con Man
No, not tie.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. It is football season. And on that note, you know, in most football situations, there's a first 15. It is a scripted first 15 plays that offensive coordinators have to kind of see how the deep defense will react to their different formations and styles. It's very important to an entire game. So whenever you see a team go on a field and go three and out, that really just kicks them right in the balls. Because the rest of the game was going to be dependent upon how those first 15 plays were going. Those first 15 plays, well thought out. Well thought out.
AJ Hawk
Oh, yeah.
Pat McAfee
Lot of conversation, a lot of decisions are made. And for us, we want to have the same thing because this is a ball show. Ladies and gentlemen, it is time for our overreaction Monday. First 15. Now, this is driven by ram. And if you hit the gas gas pedal of a ram truck, the only thing you're going to hear is and the only thing you're going to feel like is king. Because Ram trucks have the power you need and the luxury you deserve. Ram trucks. Okay, now let's get to our first 15. Now put the clock up, please. What we're going to do differently. See? See?
Con Man
Yes.
Pat McAfee
Oh, okay. Yes.
Ty Schmidt
Second half.
Darius J. Butler
Okay. Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. You see, we're getting better time of possession here. Yeah. First half of the season here, we're kind of bad. We're still in it, you know, we're still playing meaningful football games in November. We're not sellers at the trade deadline by any means, but we certainly weren't just D, you know, because we kept saying first 15. It's not about the time, it's about the plays. But then we put a 15 minute clock up there and everybody's like, hey, it's 42 minutes. So what's the clock for? And we said, you know what, you're right. Instead of counting down, we need to give no barriers to ourselves.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
We need to explore everything in this first 15. Why would we be setting up a three and out? Why would we be setting up a slowdown of any good conversation, a stoppage of any play that we need? So we're starting at zero. We're counting up, up. Let's see how long today goes. Let's get this thing started with the top five headlines coming out of the NFL slate. Number five, not all ass teams are ass all the time. Now what are you saying by that? Well, what I'm saying is some of these teams we've all just deemed ass, we say, oh, that squad there, ass. That team right there, not worth a damn. That team can't beat any team, let alone an NFL team or a good NFL team and what we need to remember. D. Buch. And I think this does get forgotten about whenever it comes to maybe the larger scale of football fans and NFL fans. These are all professional athletes who are paid to try to play football good and to strategize against other teams just like the good squads. So whenever we were 2 and 14, whenever we lost for 2 and yeah, 2 and 14, whenever we got Andrew Luck, there was like nine games, there were one score games that if the ball just so happened to and then pop up into some guy that played one NFL game in his life, it was this particular game and he just goes into the end zone. We win that game. So it's like, I think people just start to decide if a team is good or can win or if a team is bad and can't win any game. And then you kind of just toss away any of the wins that happen throughout the season with the bad teams. And then if they end up beating a team, oh, my God, full panic. It happened down there in Miami with the Buffalo Beals. Now, Josh Allen has struggled in Miami in the past. We all do recall a couple bad games for Josh down in Miami that would continue. And his Miami Dolphins team, we all call ass. These teams ass. Instead, they still got Waddle. And allegedly there were some teams, including the Buffalo Bills, that were looking for waddle. Even a first rounder in 2027 was offered up from a couple teams for Waddle because of how incredible he is at football. But we all think he's really good. He needs to get the hell out of there because they're a bad team. And here they are on a Sunday and they're beating the Buffalo Bills. And not just beating them, pounding them all three phases. There was a moment in the fourth quarter, it was 16 nothing in fourth quarter. There was a moment there where Josh Allen scores a touchdown and it's like, hold, foul. Wait a minute. Has Josh Allen finally got over his Miami flu? Is Josh Allen potentially about to turn this entire thing around? Are the Buffalo Bills about to do to the Miami Dolphins what we all expect to do? Just steal their joy and their hope in the fourth quarter? And the Miami Dolphins answered. Debunt. I mean, it was an ass kicking. Even when the bill started, the Dolphins would answer. Everybody says their ass. Maybe they're not ass all the time, Debu.
Darius J. Butler
And you mention it and they hear it, they hear it every day about how ass they are. Not only the players, but the coaches. Who's getting fired next? Who's getting traded? Obviously the trade Deadline is over now. But the way these boys showed up starting with hn, absolute game breaker ran through them and it's the only place that the Dolphins beat the Bills. You mentioned that earlier as well. And this was kind of a ugly weather game. It didn't show through on the camera much, but this was kind of some rain on and off, some sloppy. I love this. I know a lot of people have a lot of thoughts about this or they're acting like they won the super bowl. But hey, winning. Winning is an amazing feeling. You mentioned every week in the NFL is talented coaches. It's talented players. You know, we got so break dances and. And my initial reaction was like, oh, this is too much. This is this. But then I'm like, okay, I'm an old guy. I haven't been in the locker room. These are. You're coaching 20 to 30 year olds and you're excited about the win and you want to be excited about the win. So I love this, what I saw, not only on the field from the Dolphins, but off the FIELD Because Mike McDaniel, he's been getting on the shins all year long. So for him to have his boys come out and compete and against a team that everybody picked, I'm sure a bunch of Survivor picks lost a bunch of parlays or straight up wins. So unbelievable outing by the Dolphins home. Very impressed with this outing.
Pat McAfee
This was Miami's first win versus Bill since 2022. Han went off 174, six reception for 52 yards and two touchdowns. Dolphins defense forced two fumbles, one interception, end up with three sacks. That's a hell of a day after trading away Jalen Phillips and also sending away all your best talent. Hembo sent over a stat about this Bills rush defense. Week one. Derrick Henry one for 169. Bijon one for 170. And then a chain goes for 174. If you want to win. Hey, if you want to win in the playoffs, they're going to have to figure that out. They are going to have to figure that out. Now obviously these types of games are certainly possible for teams and no fans want them to see them. But only one team in the history of the NFL has gone undefeated. Okay, it's a 1972 dolphins. Every once in a while professional athletes are going to show up and put it together. And when that happens, they can beat anybody. That is kind of what the NFL has kind of been built upon. Parody, parody, parody. Any given Sunday on yesterday. On yesterday's particular Sunday. Good for you. One half of the hammer. Cowboys, bubble gumpy. How's it feel to be have a victory Monday here with the boys? Are you riding in the laundry rack?
Boston Connor
Yeah. This is what the Dolphins look like after Chris Greer's gone. That team still believes in Mike McDaniel. You saw it in that video Anthony Weaver called the best game he's had all year. Minka had a stop on that two point conversion. Just stuffed the guy at the last line. Best the defense has looked all year. Jake Bailey dropped one at the one all three phases. Just unbelievable from the Fins.
Pat McAfee
So a GM and a president is hated. This bad in the building. Oh my God. Thank God he's gone. That's what it is like down there. Feels like there was a new energy. And McDaniel, I mean the way he's feeling, the way they're responding to him, it feels like there's like a hey, we're behind you type vibe. Good for the Dolphins. Now this could all change. Yeah, true. This could all just be, you know, take it in boys.
Con Man
It's a good week.
Pat McAfee
Take it in boys. This is the NFL. This is literally the NFL in a nutshell. And also down in Miami later in the year, we got snow on the ground out here going down into Miami. The humidity that also plays effect. And also there is a Miami flu. We've all been down there. There's a lot of distractions. That's why we think it's going to be hard for the Dolphins to win. Other teams have also struggled down there as well.
Con Man
I mean like make a Fitzpatrick bringing it. I don't know if that was his first game as a Miami Dolphin, but I know he's been out for a little bit, him being back. And then, I mean, Ty dropped a bar about Jalen Phillips being out of the building. Like you would assume, you know, trading your best player, Jalen Phillips on defense, at least there might be a little bit of a, you know, fall off, but like not at all. If anything though, you know, you just said it. That was the best their defense has looked.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Congrats to the Dolphins. Get a big win and to the Bills. Okay. These types of losses open your eyes to what's possible in the bigger games down the road. They're going to have to get that fixed. And then you go to the NFC South. Who's ass down there? Saints. Well, who's not ass this year? Maybe Panthers. Go football team winning record.
Darius J. Butler
Had one Saints.
Pat McAfee
Tyler Schuck, 75 year old rookie out of Louisville Dog. Absolute beast. He had no turnovers or something like that. I forget he had a bunch of rookie records for how he performed. Kelly Moe might have a guy. And when they drafted him, I think it was like third round or something like that. Whenever they drafted him, they forgot. They acted like this was a stalker. And everybody was like, well, if this is your starter, why wouldn't you draft him early? It's like, well, we knew what his value was. We knew how people viewed him. They liked him very, very early. He gets a win over the Carolina Panthers, and a team that's 1 in 8 somehow beats a team that's 5 and 4 and 1 in 8. Team we all said was ass and we're dead. They get a huge win over there. You know, kind of new favorites around town. You know, we're not doing the pumps anymore. Nope, we're not doing any pumps anymore. Hey, all right, we're out of here. Got him. Got a message from Keith. You know, Canales is talk of the town. Rico Dowdle might be the best player in football. All of a sudden, Carolina is up and to the right in a huge way. And the New Orleans Saints just like their location on the map. Nobody was talking about them way down there. No, nobody. Hey, who are the ass teams? Well, the jets and Saints, they're real bad. Yeah, they're the ones that we're talking about. Like with a college football team now, I don't think any of this year's college football teams, well, maybe this Oz to Honestly, we have no idea. I mean, there's a chance they're the greatest of all time if they go through a college football playoff the same exact way that they've been going through this season. And there is a chance people are going to do that. Ohio State could be NFL team.
Darius J. Butler
No chance.
Pat McAfee
Never could. By the way. That is not how it works. That is why people, like, kind of get confused about how good NFL talent is. But the Saints would have been the team that was in that conversation. Whenever people started doing that later, if the Ohio State kind of runs it, them getting a big win is indicative of like, hey, when they show up, any team can be great.
Darius J. Butler
Once again, another coach having his boys ready to go. Tyler Shuck, he was past the job. He earned the job, won the job over. I guess Spencer probably played himself out of it, but he showed up. Chris Olave, another guy who was loud on the trading block. He showed up and have had a big game as well in both of those games. The Dolphins, Bills and then the Saints Panthers divisional games. So you notice whenever records you got to throw those out the window when you're playing a team and a coach that's very familiar with those opponents.
Pat McAfee
Eight minutes in. Still on the first one. Maybe we should have had the clock counting down instead of up. Tyler Shuck is the first Saints rookie to rookie quarterback to win a game since Dave Wilson in 1981.
Ty Schmidt
He was good.
Con Man
Zach Wilson's poppy.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Pop his poppy.
Con Man
Oh, okay.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I think. I think he was potentially father thing. Arch. Arch had a tough time there with the A for a while. They did, yeah. They weren't the best football team. Arch the dog, though.
Boston Connor
Oh, yeah.
Pat McAfee
Everybody knows Arch was a dog. And yeah, the A. The A had some times. And then obviously Drew Bre Se Sha Pton come in. They beat a team in the super bowl with that kick on side kick started. Second half. They were losing at that time. There's a 22 year old kid that was on the other team. I thought he was getting a Super bowl and didn't even know how to do his own job. And didn't really have to contribute much, but got an A on the paper like he was Tyrese Halliburton at the Olympics instead. Yeah. Onside kick, pick six. Wayne ever going back. Hard times, brother. But good for the Saints.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Little baby with a headset on. Oh, yeah. 1. I walk into a locker room contributing nothing. No ability to save game either at any time during that entire thing. Kind of a spectator, if you will, but would have got a ring. Walk in there devastated. Boy, can't imagine the most positive people I've ever seen in my life ruined in that locker room. And I didn't fully understand what was happening.
Darius J. Butler
We'll be back next year.
Pat McAfee
We weren't.
Con Man
You're after that.
Pat McAfee
No. We're almost completely defeated. Then all my friends were cut. GM was fired. And we had Andrew Luck as quarterback. And what do we do?
Darius J. Butler
Back we started. Started fighting back.
Pat McAfee
Made playoffs.
Con Man
Oh, yeah.
Pat McAfee
Made the AFC championship. Oh, my God. Then we did. Yeah. Then what happened?
Con Man
What happened?
Pat McAfee
And we retired.
Con Man
AFC title again.
Pat McAfee
How was it there?
Darius J. Butler
We got cheated.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. The balls.
Darius J. Butler
Still investigation why Andrew retired.
Pat McAfee
This is the balls Patriots.
Ty Schmidt
Exactly.
Pat McAfee
This ball Patriots are using. That's a Bill Nye science guy told me. That's Bill Nye science guy told me. But nonetheless, really hard. Make Super Bowl. Saints win Super Bowl. Finally. Hey, here it is. Here it is. Here it is. And then kind of all goes to hell this year. Supposed to be hell. Absolutely. But not all ass teams are assigned all the time.
Ty Schmidt
Exactly.
Pat McAfee
That's number Five, ten minutes. It's got number four headline coming out of the weekend, NFC favorites fornicate four o' clock slate. Yeah, we all saw it. Let's go to our nation's capital. Detroit Lions pounded. I mean just pounded. The Washington commanders. At one point during this game in the third quarter, the President of the United States was in the booth and the Washington commander scored. And his first reaction was that's good for ratings, right? That's good. This is actually kind of a game now as opposed to what it was. The Detroit Lions with Dan Campbell calling plays were exactly what the Detroit Lions last year with Ben Johnson were calling plays. He had glasses on. I guess it wasn't easy to tell from watching the game that he was certainly calling plays while he was actually talking and Jared Goff was nodding his head like this and then jolly Mo up in the booth wasn't saying really anything but I guess couldn't. We didn't know for sure if he was calling plays. Turns out he was. And their entire offense is good and their defense incredible. Calvin shepherd, defense coordinator, first year former teammate of ours, obviously now running the show for Detroit on defensive side. Might be in running for that LSU job. I don't know if he wants it. Obviously he just got defense coordinator job in the NFL. That is a huge deal. One step away from an NFL head coaching job. I don't know if he, I've not directly asked him, but lsu, Kelvin Shepard could be possible. So the Lions could be dealing with another turnover of a coordinator, which was the entire question going in. New offense coordinator. He's done Dan Campbell's now calling place. So basically three offense coordinators in about two years. Rafa, Ben Johnson, new Johnny Moe and Dan Campbell, defense coordinator, obviously two in two years and they're still dominating and they're still at the top of the NFC and they're still ruining a four o' clock slate. What did you learn yesterday from the Detroit Lions?
Darius J. Butler
Oh, you know what, honestly, I'm be honest with you, I didn't learn much. I knew they were a dominant team. I felt like the Detroit Lions are a legit contender to win it all this year. Jared Goff just kind of ho hum. Another great game by him over three. You got Jameer Gibbs going. He had a big day after having a bad outing last week against the Vikings. And then jmo. JMO made some noise a couple weeks ago. Was some noise around him, should I say about him not getting the ball, not being used in the offense. And Dan Campbell made it a point to get the ball probably in his first 15 to get the ball to number one. And he made good with it. So he got targets. He made his big plays. But yeah, we know they are offensively and defensively the commanders is just so, so bad. So it's. I didn't. Honestly, I didn't.
Pat McAfee
There's a team that's.
Darius J. Butler
Yeah, this was the outcome that was supposed to happen in my opinion, but.
Pat McAfee
Not as all the time. Which is why exactly would do his thing. If they put it together, yes, good team. But if not, they look like they look. And especially against the Detroit Lions. You're ready, Foxy. There's some Hembo stats here about the Lions offense through nine games and they make a change at the offense coordinator position in 2024. Ben Johnson obviously ends up getting hired as a head coach is the bell of the ball because he's an offensive genius. 2.7 points per drive, 46% scoring drive, 33 touchdowns, 10 turnovers, 20, 25, 2, 8 points per drive, which is absurd, by the way. A field goal every time they get the ball. At least. Basically. 47% drive score and 34 touchdowns, six turnovers. You guys are better than ever. And Dan Campbell's put himself in a driver's seat. What? Yeah, I'll tell you what the hell is going on. Tell you what. Everyone is fired up about this. They love that MCDC's calling plays. Jared Goff over 300 yards, three touchdowns. Jameer Gibbs, 173 total yards, three touchdowns. JMO over 100 yards, a touchdown. LaPorta had five catches. St. Brown had five catches. Everyone was getting the rock. Everyone was loving what this game offense was doing. And we're rolling now and we're not looking back anymore. Love you, Johnny Moan. He had a lot to do with this play calling, but this is MCDC's offense now, okay? Yeah, MCDC says we got a lot of guys, man. We got a lot of guys, a lot of miles to feed. Everybody's coming in my office on Monday saying, baltmore, you know what? I will. Awesome. Scored on every single possession in the game. No turnovers. It was literally perfect. Yeah, I mean, the stats saying you're scoring almost three points a drive is insane because there's games where you have like three, three, four drives, you don't score, obviously. So making up for those, it doesn't happen. Detroit Lions seemingly all the way back to who we thought they were offensively. Ty, you got to be scared to death of this Detroit Lions team because if mcdc can just Take over either coordinator position. It doesn't matter if they sub out. It doesn't matter if Kelvin Shepard ends up being the head coach at LSU if he wants that or any NFL job that potentially opens up. Because what he's been able to do with this defense so quickly, because McDonald's, he will have offensive side here, bang defensive side here if he has to. That's what he's willing to do. That's got to be scary in the NFC North.
Ty Schmidt
I wouldn't say I'm scared to death because the packers have one in the hand already on the Lions. But again, that was Johnny Mo calling the plays, not mcdc. But I think yesterday just reaffirmed, like there's been a lot of talk about the Bears because they've won several in a row. You know, the Vikings had, I mean, discount yesterday. Vikings with JJ and you know, BA said, hey, we might get four teams from the NSC North End. The packers are, you know, what they are, are. But it's very evident that like when the Lions play their A to like B plus game, they are the best team in that division. They're still the team that you need to slay. So it'll be very interesting. But I just look at. I mean, you look at the like Bears are great right now. Obviously lions hung 50 on them and beat the out of them. The packers game, it is what it is. Week one. The Lions are a much different team when they meet again on Thanksgiving. And then the Vikings are whatever. But if the. If the Lions can play like this, it. You'd be hard pressed to find a team that's better than them in the NFL.
Pat McAfee
Sonic and Knuckles. Sonic and Knuckles. Sonic and they got. They got a. They got Sonic and Knuckles everywhere.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Con Man
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Wide receiver. We got Sonic and Knuckles. Tight end. We got Sonic and Knuckles. Running back. We got Sonic and Knuckles. And offensive play callers. We got Sonic. True.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Okay. We kind of got. Literally. And now some Lions fans are saying, well, there's some games you got. Yeah. All over the place. But Sonic and Knuckles seemingly everywhere around the line. And then there's even a toughness to him. Team that brings out other people to just punch them in the face.
Ty Schmidt
Exactly.
Pat McAfee
Did you guys see this? I don't know if everybody saw this. He got suspended for a game for this. Just out of nowhere. No, look, kind of a. A little bit of a sneaker. Little sneaky, sneaky sneaker.
Con Man
Boom.
Pat McAfee
Right to the button. Now he has a helmet on. Okay. So obviously going to be protected. There's literally What? The helmet's on for that. But Amon Ross St. Brown's hands are down and he's walking a different direction. I'm not sure he knew a looping right was coming. Coming at his helmet.
Darius J. Butler
Had to say.
Pat McAfee
But I'll tell you what. I tell you what. The NFL did not like it. The NFL did not like it. Immediately quit. Yep. He suspended. Can't have that. Especially when we got a lot of eyes on this because the president's going to be speaking in the third quarter. They're actually going to have him call play.
Darius J. Butler
Oh, that's probably why he's smack.
Pat McAfee
Shit.
Darius J. Butler
I probably didn't like to dance. Maybe just thought about it.
Pat McAfee
Chris Sims had no idea. Somebody needs to tell him maybe what was going on. Hey, at the beginning of that highlight, they were trying to lead you to something. Something there. Maybe it was great dance. By the way, I remember the Talk of the Town.
Con Man
I thought it was the opposite of that. I thought Darren. Darren Payne was more so saying, like, I ain't gonna just sit here and get blown out in front of President Trump. I'm gonna punch someone in the face. I love that. And then I don't have to play the rest of the game.
Pat McAfee
So he knows you're saying.
Con Man
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
I'll tell you what. A lot of people say a lot of mean things to me because I broke some news out of the White House. I thought I was driving journalism. What are we talking about? Journalism.
Boston Connor
They were meeting you for breaking news.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, a lot of people were saying. I was doing a lot of stuff. I was doing a lot of stuff. I mean, they're gonna be crazy. I can't wait to see how they react tomorrow. I can't wait to see how they react. Tomorrow's a big one. Yeah, tomorrow's a. It's not for the first 15 because tomorrow is full 24 hours of honor and thanking. But I'll tell you, tomorrow is gonna be. Tomorrow's gonna be big.
Boston Connor
Hell, yeah.
Con Man
Historic.
Pat McAfee
Happy birthday, Marines.
Con Man
Happy birthday.
Pat McAfee
It wasn't just the Detroit Lions that made the completely fornicated. Oh, no, no. There was two other options. And the NFC west said, we'll go ahead and take care of those for you. The Los Angeles Rams, dominant now. It did become a little bit of a game. This one was one score game for a little bit. And then Matthew Stafford goes ahead and hits the gas pedal at the end of this thing to put it away. This Los Angeles Rams team is special. Offensively, they're special. Obviously, Puka Nakua is Puka Nakua, he might be the best wide receiver in football. On any given day, whenever he's playing football, insanely tough, very quick vibes. Immaculate always wants to show up for his team. We love oos. They add Devonte Adams. So now coverages have to do what they have to do down the red zone. They're damn near unstoppable because you can't double Devontae because you got Puka on the other side. So Devontae's one on one either with your second or third corner and on the goal line. That's unstoppable. I mean, it's absolutely. And Matthew Stafford does just that every time. This is their goal line play. It's every single week. Hey, Devonta, whatever the hell you want to do to the guy, if you want to go inside, you do it. You want to go outside, you do it. I'm going to hit you with the ball. They do it. But anytime they're inside the three, it's their tush push. They got the hall of Fame right arm of Matthew Stafford and the hall of Fame release of Devonte Adams. They put that together and it's a touchdown creating machine. It's outrageous what they've been able to build, especially because whenever they started building this team, they went all in and lost all their picks. They lost all of their picks. They weren't looking for the future at all is how everybody was judging them. And now here we are in that particular future. They're young on defense, very, very good offense. They have weapons. And Matthew Stafford Looks like he's 14, 15, 16 years old again, spinning it all over the yard. Was it because of that tube he went into in training camp? This guy's outrageous. He's better than he's ever been.
Darius J. Butler
Yeah, we're worried about him. Anytime you got an old player or quarterback coming into the season with a back injury, you're very, very worried. But he's playing probably the best football of his career. This is now three straight games where he's thrown four passing TDs and zero interceptions, which is insane in the National Football League. You talked about the players on the field. Obviously every. Everyone has the talent. We talked about it. But then the coaching. Coaching matters. And these are two coaches that are very familiar with each other. But Sean McVay has these boys rolling. Tom Brady, I think this was a great call. The freaking. No, look, I mean, he's the OG of that. He's been doing that for a long, long time. He makes it look so easy. I mean, go out and try this in your backyard with throwing the 7 and 8 year olds. This is tough to do, let alone on the NFL field. But yeah, Sean McVeigh has done a tremendous job. Tom Brady made a great point about something they're doing with their offense. They're using a lot of 13 personnel and then getting matchups with these wide receivers against linebackers and safeties because they're facing base coverages as opposed to like nickel coverages.
Boston Connor
So since week four, you talked about the four plus passing touches. No intercept. Since week four, he has 20 passing touchdowns to zero interceptions.
Pat McAfee
Jesus, he's hilarious.
Darius J. Butler
Hey, that's the same.
Pat McAfee
Hey, he got drafted. Our class, look, we're doing.
Kirk Herbstreet
Yep, look what we are doing for a while.
Pat McAfee
How long we've been doing this? We got drafted. I got drafted 221 picks apart from.
Darius J. Butler
Matthew Stafford, 40 picks after him.
Con Man
Damn.
Pat McAfee
Damn.
Boston Connor
What the hell?
Darius J. Butler
Okay.
Pat McAfee
Hey, dude, that's a good. That's a good signing bonus in that.
Ty Schmidt
In that economy.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, yeah.
Darius J. Butler
We had four. We had your teammate Donald Brown went first round. Yeah, I think he's a 27th pick maybe. And then we had will be go to the Giants in the second round and now Cody Brown go to the Cardinals in the second round.
Pat McAfee
Donald Brown was a beast. I love that man. I hope he's good. We would all like to say what's up to him, but yeah, Matthew Stafford's only getting better somehow. It makes no sense in his no look, passes are getting more. More very like regular now. Like it's just average stuff. I think a lot more people are doing it. But he has, to everybody's point, been doing this for his entire career. Which is why BA who's called the quarterback whisperer, said that Matthew Stafford was the only quarterback he'd go out and watch warm up because the shit he can do with it. Well, he's got weapons, he's got McVeigh calling the plays and he can still do it. He's special right now. MVP at this age would be wild for Matthew Stafford.
Con Man
Yeah, it definitely deserves it. And I believe Brady said on the broadcast that he's never been in pro quarterback, so it can lock that in for first team. But Brady also talked about how, you know, the no looks started with Calvin Johnson because like, everyone knew, okay, it's Matt Stafford and Calvin Johnson on the lines. That's where the ball is going. So he just naturally started working on the no look passes. But aside from that, Deba brought up the 13 personnel, like now that they can just roll out three tight ends. Higby Ferguson, who was their second round pick from Oregon and Parkinson who scored that touchdown there. Like they can legitimately beat you on offense and. And I don't know how you can game plan for it.
Pat McAfee
Hey, let's talk about another team in the NFC west that can win it all. The Seattle Seahawks team is hilarious.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, real deal.
Pat McAfee
They are so good.
Boston Connor
Good football team.
Pat McAfee
And we thought the Cardinals were good. We like the Cardinals. The Cardinals might still be good. They. They had a couple touchdowns they put up there. This was a boat race early. This was a lot of points to no points in Seattle. And Jackson Smith and Jigba gets on the bottom board early. I think he went down for a little bit. Something happened to something. Oh yeah, I don't remember. It was late in the thing. I think I saw a photo. Maybe not. Let's just act. If nobody else heard it or saw it, let's not even talk about it. We have a man on the phone here in about a minute and a half would be able to give us some updates at it all but the Seattle Seahawks, outrageous how good they are. Sam Darnold, so good on the ground, so good through the sky, so good defensively. Tough, hard nosed, signed gap control. It's like everything about him smells a. This thing can win a championship.
Darius J. Butler
Another legit contender right here. We always start with the quarterback. Sam Darnold has been playing at a very, very high level, but this game got out of reach early because of the defense. Two fumble returns. I don't think this has happened in I don't know how long, but DeMarcus Lawrence had two fumble. Same two players on the strip sack in the fumble return, which is crazy. Jacoby Brissette kind of never had a chance. He was under duress all afternoon long. He'll stay in there whenever you in possessions like that. Give the Seahawks extra possession. You got no ch. Tough, tough ball club from the top to the bottom.
Pat McAfee
Jacoby was staying in there and he certainly had like seven sacks in the first half. There was Cooper Cup. Him being back is crazy. Just because Jackson, Smith and Jigba is having the season that he's having. Oh yeah, Triple crown, actually quadruple crown winner just from five, six years ago. Also on the team and hopefully healthy for the entirety of the year. Congrats to the Seahawks. The NFC's favorites though, have kind of separated themselves and tonight it's Eagles and Packers. So you know we're going to learn a lot here I think over the next few weeks. But it Feels like we're starting to know who's who. In both the conferences, the NFC favorites dominated that 4 o' clock time slot and we all started doing stuff other than watch the games. That was crazy.
Ty Schmidt
Big time.
Pat McAfee
Weird thing, three games, all of them bad, not good. That's why March madness has like 15 games on at the same time.
Ty Schmidt
Exactly.
Pat McAfee
Hey, a couple of these are going to be asked. We got to find a good one. We need yesterday. Let's go to the number three headline. The Sportsman books and Steelers fans knew, okay, Sportsbooks had the Baltimore Ravens at like 2 and 4, 2 and 5 as the favorites to win the AFC north when the Pittsburgh Steelers were 4 and 1 or whatever the hell it was. 5, 4 and 2, 5 and 2, whatever the hell they were, okay? They were way down early. Steelers spent all the money on the roster and were winning and the sportsbooks did not budge. They're like, baltimore Ravens are going to win the AFC North. This is how this is going to go for weeks and weeks. And I actually just thought it was so preposterous that I'm like, well, this sounds like it has to be right? So I've literally only picked the Ravens just because it's like the time travelers who do the sports books. Things are saying this is going to happen. And lo and behold, it seems like it is happening. Lamar Jackson and the Ravens getting very, very good. Okay? Very, very good. Couple turnovers from J.J. mcCarthy. Obviously the defense is only going to get better from where they started this entire thing. And Lamar Jackson, after he goes ahead and takes the ping pong tables and the cornhole board and everything out of the locker room, comes back from his hamstring injury, completely locked, locked in. Connor is giving a great face right now because Obviously Drake may, J.J. mcCarthy conversations are going to happen. J.J. will miss, okay? He will miss by a lot. He will miss by a lot. He's got to get better with his accuracy, which I think is possible. If you go back to like Josh Allen, there's a chance he's able to do that. Has competitive spirit, all that. He misses a lot of throws by a lot, but he also makes throws out of nowhere that shouldn't be made. On that note, Baltimore Ravens.
Boston Connor
First off. That's not J.J. either.
Con Man
That's nice.
Ty Schmidt
You're right.
Pat McAfee
It's his. It's his on field. Maybe we need to see JJ. Maybe JJ's the NFL version. Yeah, maybe nine isn't in the NFL. Maybe nine retired with a national championship.
Ty Schmidt
A lot of will.
Pat McAfee
Eleven Michigan. There's but in the leadership sense, he has a lot of Tom Brady. That's right. Okay, so there's a lot of things you can look at that I'll look on the other side. Baltimore Ravens are real. And the Baltimore Ravens, the sportsbooks knew they were going to be good. Lamar Jackson feels good. A lot of losses early. They're going to be chasing all season. That's good motivation for that team. And then the Pittsburgh Steelers get a huge win over the Indianapolis Colts. Make makes me as a Colts fan. Don't worry, you'll see number one of the headlines here. You'll see exactly where I'm at. Makes me as a Colts fan, question some things. But we had six turnovers. Like that's not going to be a normal day. But the Pittsburgh Steelers forced those things. You know, the Pittsburgh Steelers made great plays. It's like maybe the Pittsburgh Steelers are a team that we need to think about going forward. That's how I felt after the Colts game last night. Halftime. I said this. I'm going to bed. You weren't still, I'm going to bed. I'm not staying up for this. I mean, it was not good last night, but we think the Chargers are a good football team as well. But it feels like Steelers fans have been waiting for this particular game, especially on prime time.
Boston Connor
Yeah, there was about a week ago when I looked at the schedule to see what time this game was. Oh, it's a prime time game. This is not going to go well. I don't know why things don't go well in prime time for the Steelers as of late, but they don't specifically on the offensive side of the ball. Anything that could go wrong did go wrong. Last night. It was Aaron Rodgers worst game of the season by far. Wasn't even close. Was overthrow and DK was under throwing guys. That was not even. That was an overthrow for an interception. Boss missed a field goal inside 50:45. Yeah, soon as Boss missed a field goal, I knew the night was over. The defense played well. I mean they held the chargers to what, 12 points in the, in the fourth quarter.
Darius J. Butler
Good route.
Boston Connor
But yeah, after, after Boss missed in halftime, I said, I know what this team's going to do in the second half and it's not going to be good. So I, I turned off it off. This team is not going to ruin my night and tomorrow.
Pat McAfee
Okay, so I, I like that you said that. I like you said. But. But on that note, that's what Steelers fans have been saying about the Steelers team even whenever they've had the winning record.
Darius J. Butler
Yeah. Steelers fan. I give them this. They know ball even when they were 11 and all those years ago they're like, ah, no, this ain't a, this ain't a Super bowl winning team.
Pat McAfee
Steelers fans are very, very truthful.
Darius J. Butler
They're knowledgeable, they know their team. They know how they're going to show up on prime time. But I was surprised with his outcome because of. Because the Steel Curtain showed up. Now it is true. It was only because the 05 team was there because this.
Pat McAfee
The hell okay. Because.
Darius J. Butler
Jack Carr here.
Pat McAfee
Oh no.
Con Man
He better be.
Pat McAfee
Zito's on the run, baby.
Adam Schefter
Z.
Pat McAfee
Thank you, Zito.
Con Man
The thing didn't close either.
Pat McAfee
The fire trap door. Well, that is actually, I think that is sports media telling us through. We have breaking news. Brian Dabel has been fired as the New York Giants head coach. In the middle of the first 15 here our alarms were sirening off because hey, there's breaking news. Stop talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers losing the Chargers. You lost enough of your life watching that game last night. Night. Pivot to some breaking news. The New York Football Giants are moving on from their head coach. Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, a senior NFL insider for ESPN Michigan. Man, Adam Schefter. She I know you were kind of waiting for us to finish while you were breaking that news. Did you expect that was coming this morning or is this kind of come out of nowhere for you? Shefty?
Adam Schefter
No, I think that we kind of had a sense that this was possible. We knew this was coming. And Pat, our timing has been impeccable over the last last week where basically you're getting me on as we got Sauce Gardner being traded, Rashid Shahid being traded. Quinn and Williams was coming down last week.
Pat McAfee
Remind you of all the things I've done here.
Con Man
See you.
Adam Schefter
It is, it is just Brian Gable who's been dismissed as the only one and interesting here. This is, this is pretty amazing when you look at it. The Giants interim head coach, whoever that will be, will be their sixth head coach since 2016.
Pat McAfee
Sheesh. Okay, so that's nine years ago. Sixth head coach. Obviously a lot of turnover. We saw the hard knocks behind the scenes in the off season. Whenever you know, Mara comes in and Shane talks about moving on from Saquon to go in with Danny Dimes. We've seen Day Ball run the meetings basically for all of their picks that they done at the combine in the draft process. Day Ball knew this was a make or break season. Is that why he potentially wanted Aaron Rodgers? Maybe his Quarterback Russell Wilson as a quarterback, Jameis Winston as a quarterback, like a veteran quarterback to be able to go on a run. And what does this mean for Jackson Dart in a development of the future here? Shefty in your eyes?
Adam Schefter
Well, I think here's the deal. Jackson Dart has been evaluated for four concussions this year. Four. And so the biggest thing this team can do is make sure it's protecting its quarterback. We've got a quarterback that has been evaluated for concussions. We've got a team that has blown double digit leads in four different road games. They are the inverse of the Chicago Bears. They've been in position to win all these games and haven't gotten it done. And I think that at some point time you make the decision that we're not going to move forward with this guy. I think this is a team also that put so much money and time and investments and picks into its defense and the defense is one of the worst in the league right now. And so I think that they feel like they need a reboot here and they made the decision to move on from Brian Dabel. We'll see who the interim head coach coaches. I'm trying to think of the candidates on staff. Mike Kafka is the offensive coordinator. He might be a candidate here to take over as the head coach though they may want him to concentrate on the offense in which case it would be the special teams coach. So yeah, but Brian Dabel becomes the second head coach let go this year following Brian Callahan in Tennessee.
Pat McAfee
You talk about the defense and having all these players supposed to be good and being dreadful, then it makes you automatically go to Shane. So Shane not. They're not moving on from Shane right now. You say the general manager, do we think.
Adam Schefter
Not right now. I'm told that Brian Dabel is the only one I look, I think it's fair to assume that when you're firing the head coach everybody is going to come under review. Everybody. What they do with that, we'll see. That'll be up to John Mara, Steve Tisch and others. But obviously they felt like this was a move that they had to make today.
Pat McAfee
Okay, we appreciate the insight and thank you for joining us here immediately. We've talked about a few things in this top five headlines. Do you mind if we go to number two right now? While you're on here, what is number two? More visible picture at the MVP picture. It feels like there is now a three horse race for the MVP in Drake May, Matthew Stafford and Jonathan Taylor. First we'll go With Drake May unbelievable for his second year, second head coach, second offensive coordinator. 3. If you go back three years for him, back to college, he is leading this Patriots. I mean it is fun to watch. Had him early. You know, it feels like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Todd Bowles defense had him early because I was reading Connor's tweets about it. It's like, whoa, tough day with Todd Bowles right now. Tough day. Then he makes this throw with a guy about to hit him. Has to be a touch pass with like a quarter throw. And it's like this dude is special. Special. And it's not just us saying that Schefter sportsbooks have him as the odds on favorite to win the MVP is insane to think about at this stage. Matthew Stafford, we just talked about being immaculate. And then Jonathan Taylor, this dude's special. 250 yards or whatever it was in Germany yesterday. He's been doing it all season. There's a lot of stats and factoids about what he's been doing versus Adrian Peterson and Adrian Peterson's MVP season up to this point, obviously what the teams were. 8 and 2, 6 and 4. He has 17 touchdowns. I had to. I thought we had a seven touchdowns. 1,399 yards from scrimmage. 1,283 yards from scrimmage. So what Jonathan Taylor is doing is obviously historic and obviously better than an MVP season was for a running back in the past. Adrian Peterson we all have massive respect for as a football player, he was untackleable. And Jonathan Taylor's the same damn thing. And when Jonathan Taylor gets any space, he's gone. He is winning games for the Indianapolis Colts and you got everybody the on that team, you know, Zier at the end of that 44 was saying you're the best player in the world. Literally on camera. I got a text from Daniel Jones, said we got the best player on earth than Jonathan Taylor. He said life is good with him. Nobody expected this from the Colts. Adam Schefter and I don't know if anybody expected this from Jonathan Taylor either. If you're a voter, which I don't know if you are or not, are you going to give it to a running back Shefte or is this just a quarterback award, you think through and through.
Adam Schefter
Well, here's number three to you, Pat. If we go back the last 12 years. 12, okay. The quarterback has won the most valuable player, by the way. Mike Kafka, officially the interim head coach for the New York Giants. Mike Kafka and the interim head coach for the New York Giants, he takes over for Brian Dabel, who was let go here this afternoon. I want to give you something here that's interesting. The quarterback position. A quarterback has won the NFL at MVP each of the last 12 years. If we go back over the last seven, there are 50 voters for the MVP award. My friend Peter King pointed this out to me this morning. There are 50 voters for the MVP award. In the last seven years, there have been 350 first place votes for the MVP. Of those 350 votes, 349 over seven years have been for quarterbacks. The only single vote, single vote in the last seven years not for a quarterback was for Cooper cup in 2021. Other than that, a quarterback has gotten every first place vote for the MVP award. So that tells you that. Drake May, Matthew Stafford, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Sam, Sam Darnold. They're in the lead, however, saying that I am not a voter. I'm glad I'm not a voter, but I guess I'm not, you know, I've never been asked to be a voter. I have not been a voter since I was younger. Those privileges were revoked. My hall of Fame privileges were revoked when I was an NFL network. They never gave him back to me. I guess I can make fun of it now. Nobody ever gave me back. And there are a lot more. There are a lot of people out there, Pat, that know the game way better than me. So they don't need a my vote. And they don't.
Pat McAfee
They don't.
Adam Schefter
And they don't need me to vote on the hall of Fame either. A lot of people.
Pat McAfee
James, the fire outside. Jesus. Everything's all right. We're on camp, boys. Let him know Day ball was just getting fired. Dude. So the fire alarms went off here in Indianapolis. But I did not know you got your voting privileges revoked. I'm happy you keep that chip on your shoulder every single day when you wake up and try to change the course of the the NFL with your breaking news. 349 of the 350 votes over the last seven years have gone to a quarterback. Cooper cup, obviously. Everybody says he won the triple Crown that year. It was actually the quad because he got the yards after catch, too.
Con Man
Oh, yeah.
Pat McAfee
So it was like catches, touchdowns, yards, and then also yards after catch. He had. So it was like all four. He was across the board. He got one MVP vote. Okay, he got one. Jonathan Taylor's doing special things. Let's go to somebody who actually has an MVP vote. AP tone Running back. Potentially in the running. Especially with how good this quarter. Colts team is, the position we're in, best team in the afc and he is clearly the best player on the team. Everybody on the team agrees that.
Boston Connor
Yeah, good news. Just got the email this week. I am back this year. I was.
Con Man
I was.
Boston Connor
Jeff, you can send me your list. Maybe I'll take it into consideration.
Pat McAfee
Or not.
Boston Connor
But yes, yes, Jonathan Taylor and a running back should always be considered when you're having a historic season like this. It doesn't have to be just a quarterback award. It's not named a quarterback award. So yes, if Jonathan Taylor is the most valuable player, he should win the MVP award.
Pat McAfee
Drake May odds on favorite to win the mvp. No. Patriots fan. Go ahead. I'm sorry.
Adam Schefter
Well, that's what I was saying before I got in a little bit of a riff. I don't know how you don't give the award today, today, November 10th, to Jonathan Taylor. The guys had four hat trick games, four games where he scored three touchdowns each. He right now is on pace to do things that very, very few running backs in the history of football ever have done. We're talking about a historic season. Now, again, there are a lot of games left, but look at the production. Look how it compares to an Adrian Peterson, one MVP only scored. He's only scored 10 more touchdowns than him at this point, right?
Pat McAfee
Oh, yeah.
Adam Schefter
Ten more. Right.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. So, yeah, that's what it's.
Adam Schefter
Again, Pat, if I did have a vote right now, I would vote for John, but I don't have a vote, so I can't.
Pat McAfee
Okay, yeah, we understand. You got to revoke.
Darius J. Butler
Look, once again, not getting it back.
Pat McAfee
Tone said he will listen to any ideas, but obviously he has more sway than you. He still has to vote for good reason. But let's go to the odds on favor right now because of everything you just chatted about. I think everybody just assumes, including sportsbooks. Inevitably, at the end of the day, push comes to shove. Whenever it's time to vote, they'll say the person that's touching the ball every single play is the most valuable position. That is normally the argument. It's not the most best player, it's the most valuable player. Quarterback's always going to be the most valuable. That's why they're getting paid $60 million a year because they touch the ball every single play. Jonathan Taylor, I think Danny Dimes would be okay with him touching the ball every single play. And I think our offense would. But we got weapons Everywhere else as well. Which is why the Colts are so good. Let's talk about Drake May though. Odds on favorite con man. Nobody expect that as a Patriots fan coming in the season. Right. How could you expect the Patriots second year quarterback who wasn't the first quarterback drafted? He's on a brand new head coach to be the MVP. Odds on favorite throughout 10 weeks. Congrats to you guys and congrats to Drake May who seemingly has it all.
Con Man
Yeah, incredible first 10 games just to kind of piggyback off that Jonathan Taylor thing for Drake May. He's the first quarterback in the history of the NFL to have 2500 pass yards, 70 plus completion percentage, 250 rushing yards and five or fewer interceptions. Shout out Greg Harvey. When we're talking about value and just, you know, valuable as being the word here, you can go to all those other players and then look at the cap space spent across the other offenses. I mean it's not even close. Drake May would be most valuable. I think Matt Stafford's most deserving.
Pat McAfee
Okay. And the number one story of the weekend is the Colts are going to win Super Bowl.
Darius J. Butler
Hell yeah.
Pat McAfee
Colts going Super Bowl. Congrats to us. A huge win. We got about a heart out here in one minute. This came quickly. 42 minute first 15 here. Shefty Eagles, packers tonight. Literally one minute. We have. What should we be thinking about? You step out of the way, Pat.
Adam Schefter
I got you. I think we're going to get Nolan Smith back tonight for the Philadelphia Philadelphia Eagles. I think he'll be activated by 4 o'. Clock. Jair Alexander did not make the trip for the Philadelphia Eagles. Not going to play against his former team. And this is all about the Tush push tonight. The packers were the team that proposed banning it. We heard Micah Parsons last year with the Cowboys talk about the fact that it was a terrible play. Now the Eagles are going to get a chance to take their Tush bush and shove it up to Packers Tushbush tonight in Green Bay.
Pat McAfee
You're the man. Way to tush Push your way right through that. You're the best. Adam Sheffield. Good breaking news on the show. We appreciate the hell out of them. Football Happy Birthday to the Marine Corps. More and breaking news from the first hour. We will be live from Parris island tomorrow as we honor and thank the veterans of this United States of America as the only show that will be live from a base tomorrow, I do believe and also the only show that's ever really been live from Parris Island. Parris island is the eastern half of the United States of America. Marines boot camp east of Mississippi you go Parris Island. Western Mississippi you go South. San Diego. Okay. This is where Marines are made. We actually, they actually have a sign that says we make Marines that all the recruits during their final on their way to the Eagle Globe and anchor ceremony, walk under and hike through and then they get to the parade deck and then they're, you know, officially made into Marines after a grueling 13 week boot camp down there where it is everything you could imagine and then some with drill instructors who are the baddest humans on earth expecting perfection from 0400 all the way to 2000, I believe ours in every moment in between is perfection. We need it and also we need you to not be asking any questions and just go do the damn thing first. The fight are the Marines kind of mantra. And tomorrow we'll be very lucky to be able to broadcast live from their home and and yeah. It's going to be a special day tomorrow as we say thanks to the vets around the United States of America and we're incredibly lucky and thankful that we're going to be able to do it. The toxic tables here at Boston Connor and at Tai Schmidt. Big one tonight, Ty.
Ty Schmidt
Big one tonight. Yeah. Kind of a must need almost a have to win this one tonight.
Pat McAfee
I, I like that you went with the NFL premium plus Pro. Kind of love that tossel cap if you will.
Ty Schmidt
You know it doesn't have the toss.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, Beanie. Beanie. But it's a fold up though. I don't know if you. Beanie has the fold up, right? That's kind of the Beanie has. Yeah. That far. All the way around.
Con Man
And does Beanie have the thing? The, the top little.
Pat McAfee
No, that's a tossle. I think that's a tossle.
Ty Schmidt
It is, yeah.
Pat McAfee
Beanie for me doesn't have the fold up. It's just the. Just that down slides over. Yeah, that one. I don't think so.
Ty Schmidt
Maybe a toque.
Pat McAfee
You call it a Scully. See I think you would call Scully. The one that doesn't have the, the.
Con Man
Photo doesn't go over your. Your ears.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I would have just called it.
Ty Schmidt
A winter hat growing up. Let me just grab one of my winter hats here.
Pat McAfee
That's what you said. I think Canadians call it a took. Is that, is that what the. The title is, Gumpy?
Boston Connor
Yeah, it's a 2K. That's what it's all about.
Pat McAfee
Okay, so we're not calling it that. A2. A2K.
Con Man
It's a gourd on you to say that with that hat on. We. We might call it a Duke Pinnacle, brother.
Darius J. Butler
Okay.
Pat McAfee
That is nine year NFL vet Darius J. Butler. Grew up in South Florida. You know, so all this talk about beanies and scullies and tossle caps are certainly right on brand. For everything going on, that particular hat was alarming today. Did not expect to see that. Thought we were out of the woods.
Ty Schmidt
No kid, like for a long time.
Darius J. Butler
We got a couple more weeks. Championship. Championship season.
Pat McAfee
Joining us now live from an attic in Ohio is a college football national champion, super bowl champion, rocker cup winner, hater of G1. Ladies and gentlemen, AJ Hawker. What do you call it?
AJ Hawk
Snow hat. I've always called that all versions. Whether it folds or not, we just say snow hat.
Pat McAfee
Really?
Con Man
Snow?
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
AJ Hawk
I don't know where I got it from but yeah, someone obviously passed it down to me here in Ohio.
Pat McAfee
All the different forms you. You call them all the same. What about the one with the. The all the way. Yeah, the Russian.
AJ Hawk
Like the old. What's the movie? Grumpy old men. Like those dudes that wrap around your ears and you tie it underneath. You call. I don't know, the old man snow hat.
Pat McAfee
Maybe. Okay, maybe that's a bright plate. Cuz they have that fold up in the front. Yeah, I had a run with that one where I thought by far coolest snow hat. I guess we're calling all these things. That one was. Have you seen that one?
Darius J. Butler
I have not. I don't think so. I just remember that though, from. With Pete Thammel was about to beat this out of Bruce.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, he had. He had beanie on. Yeah, yeah, he had Scully on. Beanie on. There was no fold up there. Yeah, the one that goes over the ears. Oh. I think we should all think about. If we get into another situation where we're calling a game from the sideline, I think we should all have matching one ones of those.
Con Man
It's a good idea. There's like Eskimo hats almost anyway.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, for sure. I think that is what you would certainly do and. Sounds much worse. Actually.
Boston Connor
The.
Pat McAfee
The proper. The proper name sounds much worse. That's what we called him. Con man growing up, for what it's worth. Inuits, I bet you. Yes.
Con Man
No, we use the other word and use that hat. But that is what we called them growing up.
Pat McAfee
Oh, like you're talking about like Inuit brothers. Yeah, yeah.
Ty Schmidt
Bingo.
Pat McAfee
Never heard that. What you talking about?
Darius J. Butler
Heard that term?
Pat McAfee
What you've heard other terms? What? Really?
Darius J. Butler
I'm not gonna say it.
Pat McAfee
No, I think what are you talking about though? All right.
Darius J. Butler
I just never heard Inuit brothers.
Pat McAfee
Commander brothers, maybe. I think you can kind of tie. Ipso facto guardian brothers. Joining us now, AJ let's talk about some of the games yesterday. Now. Inuit's great name, by the way. I pitched for a hockey team named du. It's. And I don't know if it's really a brand name, you know, but we can make it.
Kirk Herbstreet
That could be.
Pat McAfee
Certainly be making the world a lot better too. Eskimos. I believe proper term is Inuit. If you were to Google it, sure. I. I believe that would. That would say that nonetheless. Legends, both of them. And their hats. The best. Oh yeah, for good reason. Cuz they got a.
Ty Schmidt
It's cold up there.
Darius J. Butler
I have seratos.
Pat McAfee
You've seen those, right?
Darius J. Butler
Tuskegee Airmen.
Pat McAfee
Oh, yes.
AJ Hawk
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Pat McAfee
That is. That is what it is. Yep. So you should wear those maybe.
Darius J. Butler
Yeah, we Got another Ohio State game situation. Absolutely.
Pat McAfee
How about the Tennessee team? When they came out shirtless, all of us from the north were just like, this is not the one to do that, bro. If it's like 40, 30, maybe that we're negative right now. Yeah. Your body's taking an actual damage right now. It is. You are what we say in a bad position.
Boston Connor
I looked it up because I was just always a tossel guy. Apparently that's a Yinzer term, tossel cap.
Pat McAfee
See, that's what happens game days. Going to Pittsburgh on Saturday, obviously. Pittsburgh Steelers last night in primetime against Chargers put the world to bed at halftime probably with the way that whole thing went. What are your thoughts on this Pittsburgh Steelers team? We had a. I think our number three headline or something was sportsbooks. And Steelers fans knew sportsbooks had the Baltimore Ravens as the winners of the AFC north weeks ago. Whenever they were way out of contention in a lot of people's eyes, especially if you looked at the record and Lamar Jackson was hurt. Steelers are riding high. I mean Steelers even get a win over Indianapolis Colts last week. I think the Colts best team in football in all three phases. So maybe Steelers are able to go. Steelers fans never really believed that they could do anything special. They felt like it was another year. Ho hum. How are you going to do the Steel Curtain being all the way back last week? Put up a good performance against Herbert. Maybe indicates that they're going to be good down the road. Like what do you think about this Pittsburgh Steelers team? Are they for real or are the Steelers fans in sports books? Right? You think? A.J.
AJ Hawk
Yeah, I don't know. Like I, I think. I don't know how Steelers fans, I don't. I mean, I know Tone sometimes will lean negative when he thinks of the Steelers and what they're going to do. And he thinks like all doom and gloom, like, here we go. He's going to write them off for the end of the year. I would never write him off. I still think they can put it together, but I don't from the start of this game, even though they were in it for a long time, no matter how poorly they were playing, something was just off something. It's one of those games. I don't know. You got to give the Chargers credit. Obviously their defense, especially lad McConkey. This guy, guy's awesome. But I don't know, you know, Chargers. I'm sorry about that. But Aaron, you know, a couple balls are high. A ball, you know, ricochet's off, old buddy and gets picked. Things like that happen and they never really. A lot of times you can settle in and you'll get a rhythm and they just never found that rhythm offensively.
Pat McAfee
Chargers a good football team too that is getting lost in the sauce. That's why it was a Sunday football matchup.
Darius J. Butler
But after, especially after what the still curtain did to us for the cuz Joe Al, he. He's out, he's hurt and he's out for the season it looks like I think, I believe. And they're a completely different team when Joe Al isn't in that lineup. And I know we give a bunch of shit to the pff. Did you see them ratings pregame? But I think we have four offensive linemen from the Chargers that were like 34, 35 of 36 in that starting lineup. So I expect especially offensive Steelers.
Kirk Herbstreet
It was insane.
AJ Hawk
It was like center coaching of all time.
Pat McAfee
Why do they want to put that on team?
Darius J. Butler
We got to find a graphic because it was, it was, it was the worst I've seen especially on the heels of the, the conversation we had with the ratings. But yeah, I was surprised for the Steelers to not show up. The Chargers ran the ball well and obviously Herbert made some timely throw throwing catches. Including Keenan Allen becoming the all time leader.
Pat McAfee
Congrats Keenan, we love you. We're big fans of Keenan. Huge first time goes to Chicago, second time he comes back there. I just don't understand why NBC would want to showcase the ass of their positions. Like why, why is that something you'd want to leave the show with? Why would you want to keep. Put that down here. Can you put that down in here too? Yeah. Bradley Boseman, PFF rank 36 of 36. He'll be your center tonight. Let's go to Trey Pipkins III. He's your right tackle. He'll be the 35th out of 36 right tackles in the entire NFL. And don't you worry. Makai Becton senior here, you think that actually says 38 or 37? He. He's close. 36 of 37. When we talk about ass, we mean this offensive line here, Austin deculas, he is 38 of 38 possible tackles. That is what you're tuning in to watch tonight, folks. 35, 36, 37 and 38 of their position groups. That is what we want. Yeah. Why would you even want to sell that?
Darius J. Butler
Wow.
Pat McAfee
Like why would you? Let alone.
AJ Hawk
If I'm the O line coach, I would. Sorry. If I'm the O line coach, I'm.
Con Man
Saying, hey, look what I.
AJ Hawk
We won this game. Look who I'm working with. Even though he doesn't feel that way about his players, I'm sure he loves them. But it does make you think, like, hey, look, I can. I can coach anybody out here. These guys. Look at the rated.
Pat McAfee
Can we not find a stat for Deculus that makes. Hey, this guy's three point stance looks cooler than everybody else.
Ty Schmidt
Put mean cuss on the bottom de.
Pat McAfee
PFS stat main cuz.
Kirk Herbstreet
Exactly.
Pat McAfee
This guy. PFF stat. Very new. Doesn't have a lot of reps. His reps not good. Could be good tonight though. Like anything that maybe sells pro. I don't know why. And it feels like they're even more cemented in.
Ty Schmidt
Oh, without everybody.
Boston Connor
Yeah, for sure.
Pat McAfee
And that's certainly a part of a negotiation. I assume Chris Collinsworth has. You got to use pfaff. Oh, yeah. You know, it's probably a part of it all, but it's like, why would you want to do that now? You pissed off all those players for forever, right? Those players and their families are pissed off forever at you. And it's like also, if you're just casual watcher, it's like, oh, great. Sunday Night Football is all the worst players in the league. That's cool. Why does anybody want that out there? I. I don't. My brain too small? Too stupid. I don't think I fully understand it.
Ty Schmidt
Well, and most people understand that you can just throw away that and you just completely ignore it. But like, for a lot of casual fans, I mean, that Sunday Night Football is the biggest game in town. We got so many people watching that and it creates unrealistic economic expectations. So you got fans watching, like Steelers fans who, you know, maybe aren't, you know, someone who covers it day to day like we do, they look at that. It's like, oh, well, if we don't beat the hell out of these guys, we suck. Are you kidding me? And then that happens and it's like, we got.
Pat McAfee
How much are we paying?
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, Exactly.
Pat McAfee
We got 34, 35, 36 and 38 out of 38 in this offensive line. TJ walk. Can't get home. We're going to lose this game. Okay, I don't think so. Yeah, I think everybody's probably on his side, but pff. Well, I guess probably pfs, probably sick of it too. Like, there's probably people within PFF that are like, we shouldn't be putting out the 38 of 38 rank. Like, I'm sure there's people in there somewhere.
AJ Hawk
Is this good Free pub for them is this free pub that they don't care about, even though it's somewhat negative publicity. People talking about.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. I mean, it's all on how you want to operate and live your life.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah. It's still going to be on there next Sunday.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Con Man
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Yes.
Con Man
Yep.
Pat McAfee
Well, that's going to say, you see, I negotiate that in. This guy sucks. You see it?
Darius J. Butler
This guy.
Pat McAfee
Guy's terrible. This guy, really good. He should be asking for a trade, actually, next year. This guy. Ass. That's crazy.
Darius J. Butler
Sorry, Bradley.
Pat McAfee
Hey, Mr. Boseman. Sorry. We went back. Hey, all we know, stat, that 10 Sunday night against Pittsburgh. Oh, yeah. That's tough, though. Boseman's got a lot of text from a lot of people that he hasn't talked to in a long time, but I didn't know you're having such a hard time. You suck at your job. Hey, the NFL, tough game, dude. Tough game.
AJ Hawk
These guys, do they rank 36 centers? Sorry? Do they rank 36 centers, or is that just, like, interior lineman? What is that?
Boston Connor
I think it's center.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Boston Connor
Injuries and stuff.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, dude. Every snap, every. Every assignment. They know every assignment. You weren't supposed to pass that guy off and get the second guy. That guy actually got the. The sack. You were supposed to get that guy. No, I was never supposed to get that guy. No, you were. Pff. Size. Get it? See it? You touched him. You let him go. Well, yeah, because I was passing them off. The guard's supposed to have.
Ty Schmidt
No, no.
Darius J. Butler
51 was the mic.
Pat McAfee
We actually had. 55 is the mic here because we were offsetting. Because they got a guy. Nope. Clearly. Do you want us to show you the diagram? Here's Will, here's Sam, here's Mike. That's not right. That's actually a joker. That's a star. That's not even.
Con Man
Nope.
Pat McAfee
BFF size. This is the mic. We saw you before the snap. Two point the wrong guy. Negative. All of it. We saw the quarterback try to. Quarterback, came up here and said, hey, no, it's this guy. And then you. You shoot him off. You were wrong twice, actually, before. Think. Two negatives.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah. Don't worry. We ding the quarterback as well for not being able to, you know, properly assess who it was. He got dinged as well.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. He should have been able to convince you that you were wrong. So he got a negative for the play as well. Eff sign. Listen, we don't want to turn this entire show into this because we could. We could. We could go. I could go 45 minutes right now.
Ty Schmidt
Yep.
Pat McAfee
Easy. Just acting like I'm a stats hero. Okay. Which there's a lot of you out there. Okay. Not as much as it was before four years ago. Feels like the stats people were really. Were the kings of sports. It really did feel like it. Then reality settled in a little bit. Like, hey, you know, numbers are numbers, but the people that are creating that numbers. Okay. Existing in real time, humans. And unless something's 100 to 0 even then, maybe it's not a guarantee that you guys are right. If stats were right, then sports betting wouldn't be a thing because it would be easy just to kind of read what you guys say, and then that's a matter of fact. But, like, humans don't wake up like video games. You know, humans wake up. Maybe they're supposed to be a 94, and they wake up at an 82, you know, because it's week 10 or sometimes people wake up and they say, I'm 99 today. I don't got the chain. I don't have any of that. But you all just kind of view it as a video game. They say stats people. So we just want to let you know we appreciate you stats people. We appreciate the humility over the last couple years because massive piece of football. And on that note, every time they put up the PFF ranking, you all look like, valid. Yeah, it's not just PFF that looks like an ass.
Darius J. Butler
No.
Pat McAfee
It's all the stats world looks like, because us in the sports world that we. I. My entire career was built off stats, obviously. Much more basic stats. And the stats, you guys find. And I respect. Respect stats, but us in the sports world just go like, these idiots still at the very beginning just don't get it. They just don't get it. They just don't get it. And they're just sticking to their ways, which is awesome. Yeah, we're going to put 38 out of 38 up there. Somebody's typing that in and approving it, man. We want to run this in the open. Biggest game of the. Of the night. Pittsburgh Steelers are part of this one. Probably gonna be pretty big. Chargers big Sunday football. We've been waiting all day up until the right. You want to run this 38 out of 38. Kind of makes this guy look like ass. Is that what he is? Yeah. Send it out there. And they get a win. This Steelers team might stink.
Ty Schmidt
Oh, no.
Pat McAfee
Oh, no. I think a lot of overreaction tweets coming from Pittsburgh Steelers.
Boston Connor
I think they're Just an average football team. They can look shitty one night, they can look great one week, and at the end we're just going to be the same we had have been for.
Pat McAfee
The last few years. All right, we hit the top five headlines in the first hour. We missed a couple things and we always say, hey D bot, what are two things maybe we missed in our first 15? Debo, what were those two things that we missed in our first?
Darius J. Butler
We'll start with the New York Jets. The first thing we missed with the first 15, obviously Nick Mango, they did a great job, you know, representing him. Jeremy Ruckert, former Ohio State tight end, actually walked in with Nick Mango jersey. I thought it was awesome. Awesome. And then the jets, they showed up, they got a gritty win. We talked about teams with the back against the wall team obviously selling at the trade deadline, how they going to show up, how they going to compete. And they did it. Even with this ugly stat line from the offense and the quarterback position, the special teams, the third phase showed up. We got Wangu right here with a 95 yard kick return.
Pat McAfee
Unbelievable. You know about that.
Darius J. Butler
Up the sideline. Unbelievable play. When you're a team struggling, especially on offense, these special teams plays, they, they play a huge role in getting your team to win. And then the very next return, we got a long punt return from Isaiah Williams. Now you never see this. I believe we saw it earlier in the season with the Patriots. They had two back to back returns. But this is unbelievable against the Cleveland Browns right here. You cannot have this. Isaiah Williams. And the flag was obviously not on the New York Jets. Unbelievable job by the New York Jets.
Pat McAfee
You say, we say, I say, oh, Wilson, that's him. Williams, Williams, Williams. That's what I said. I said Wilson. I clearly said Wilson. But is Mr. Williams. Anytime your special teams can roll like that, Come on.
Darius J. Butler
And Bree Hall, Bree hall had a big game too. He had a late. This was the touchdown here. Once again, Phil's only completed six passes seed. This is right between the two and the great blocking on the edge. And he gets up on the field. Obviously Breece hall was a big name around the trade deadline as well. He had a big game. Another guy who was a big thing around the deadline, Will McDonald, he had four sacks. So once again, when that all he had a farm dude, he had four sacks. He had an unbelievable performance. And I thought Aaron Glenn, we talked about it earlier with the Dolphins and Mike McDaniel. Aaron Glenn, you know when you're selling and you're trading and you're Getting all these people picks and you're obviously rebuilding for the future. How are the guys in that locker room going to show up and compete? It obviously is going to represent how the coach hasn't prepared. He had a great postgame speech. I thought the post game vibes were in. And something he said at the end of this speech was not just about buy in, but it's about stay in. So obviously you buy in and it feels great when you get a win right here. We know how it was with the ugly start with the Detroit Lions and now they're absolute wagon. Maybe this is the beginning for the New York jets who've been looking for a turnaround for a long, long time.
Pat McAfee
What happened in Detroit first year mcdc and Aaron Glenn, obviously a massive piece of what happened up there in Detroit, but what happened in your first year with DC started out. Oh and 10, 3, 13 and 1 was the final record there. Okay. So obviously it might take a little bit to flip an entire culture. Feels like the jets for this time are ahead of schedule, maybe in a restart because they were able to get rid of some of the big pieces of the past. AJ Is that what you're thinking as well?
AJ Hawk
Yeah, it's definitely possible. But the thing about the Lions compared to the jets, the Lions had Jared Goff right the whole time. Are jets the moving forward with. Is this their quarterback? Do they have their, their franchise quarterback?
Pat McAfee
Now I will say every insider and football pundit person from ESPN that we talked to, okay, says they got a lot of picks, they got a lot of money, now they got to go make a selection at quarterback and blah, blah, blah. They've already done that. They selected Justin Fields many times. They paid Justin Fields a lot of money. They paid him $30 million, I think in total $20 million a year. Now granted, is that anything in comparison comparison to what other quarterbacks are getting? No. But the Pittsburgh Steelers had him last year. The Pittsburgh Steelers made him an offer. I think a couple other teams made an offer. New York jets paid him by far the most money to be their quarterback. So I'm not saying that they said, hey, Justin Fields is our answer forever, but they certainly have made a quarterback decision already and it's like has not worked out. There was a stat, something about like 12 yards or something.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Fewest pass yards in a game this season coming from Membo. Real quick. Jetson Week 6 loss versus the Broncos 10, jets in Week 10 versus the Browns 42. Jets in Week 2 loss versus Bills 54. And what was the stat if you.
Con Man
Take out the 42 yard touchdown from Breeze hall, screen right there. Justin Fields had 12 passing yards.
Pat McAfee
Why are we taking it out?
Con Man
I agree.
Pat McAfee
That's the stat I saw. He asked.
Con Man
The stat we saw.
Pat McAfee
That's what I saw. Yeah. And once again I just saw it. My eyes saw it. And once I saw it, I thought to myself, well, that's impossible. And if ifs and buts were candies and nuts, we'd all blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. What? You know, but obviously you can't take away a pass and then say that was his total pass yards. But what the stat was alluding to is like, was this Breeze hall or was this Justin Fields here? And then once you say, okay, well let's eliminate that, let's just go straight to Justin Fields. They're like barely a first down this guy's throwing.
Darius J. Butler
Yeah. So I did see the, the next gen pass passing chart and it was.
Con Man
It was pouring, weather was bad, it was pouring rain for, for one. But, but also like with Fields and of course you need a long term answer at quarterback for sure. But if you have picks that are in the top 10, how, how valuable are five, you know, or sorry, three five star players, whether that's offensive line, defensive line, you know, corner. And granted they just traded two of those positions away, but still, like, let's.
Pat McAfee
Say they do say smaller contracts.
Con Man
Yeah, yeah, smaller contracts. And let's say with Fields it's like, okay, you're right, we did pick our guy from two years. So let's just ride this contract out. We have a bunch more picks, you know, the year after. But yeah, there's no way they can.
Pat McAfee
Play with Justin Fields again next week. I mean, next year.
Con Man
No chance.
Pat McAfee
There's no way. You know, And Justin, we love Justin. I don't really know him actually, but I am a fan of Justin Fields from afar. I think he's probably a great human. I think he's a great leader. I love his commitment to his body. I appreciate everything he did at Ohio State. I think he's a freak athlete. I think when you get the ball in his hands, he's fastest guy on the field. It is amazing to watch.
AJ Hawk
Tough. He's actually tough too. He took a monster shot, if you remember, in college as well, and kept coming.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. But in the NFL as well, when he's back with the Bears.
Con Man
Oh yeah.
Pat McAfee
The only highlights that were coming from their very terrible seasons were Justin Fields either running over people or around people. I mean he is a, Daniel Putin B, MVP Yeah, I think Dano had to make some decisions because of some potential narratives that were building about the way he felt about people, you know, and that is certainly something that I think Dano was doing in that particular moment. Moment there, you know, because he gave some takes and everybody was like this guy seemingly saying, mvp, actually Ohio State quarterback. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, that's exactly what it was at the time. It got hot in the kitchen for Dan over, I mean, we, and he did it on our show. So this is one of those things. Whenever what people say on these microphones don't necessarily reflect the opinions of their peers, their boss, or currently at the moment, the company is licensing the show, espn. With that being said, what people say in the microphones on this particular show certainly goes, hey, controversial Grace, Jeopardy. Shout out. Dano certainly threw himself into a fire or two on our particular show. So I got to see his mentions. I, I got to ride in his mentions for a little bit. They are not spectacular. But he did have hope for Justin Fields. I think we all did because of how athletic he is. Like, how athletic. He's so athletic. He's so athletic. He's so athletic. I think accuracy is a thing, you know, I, I, I don't know if it's necessarily easy, and being a quarterback is not necessarily an easy job.
Boston Connor
And for a while it was like, oh, the Bears organization just didn't do him any favors at all. And then last year it wasn't terrible. It wasn't great either. And then this year. But no, I think the jets are probably going to have, you know, a Mendoza or a Moore or a Simpson at quarterback.
Pat McAfee
Mendoza will be joining us today in about 20 minutes or so. Joining us right now, ladies and gentlemen, is the voice of college football, the face of Thursday Night Football on Prime alongside Al Michaels, ladies and gentlemen, a man who almost predicted a football game exactly this past weekend at Oregon and Iowa, Kirk Herbstream.
Con Man
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
How you doing, Herbie? We're talking about the jets there a little bit with Justin Fields. Obviously, they move on from Quinn in sauce and everybody's starting to think they're quitting and mailing it in. They get a huge win with special teams and defense and obviously Breeze hall able to do his thing. What are your thoughts on the jets moves and Justin Fields as a quarterback and also Day Ball fired as the New York Giants head coach earlier today. Just kind of New York state of mind from Kirk Herbstream, if you will.
Kirk Herbstreet
Well, I, I think first of all, anytime you need a pick me up, you go into that AFC north, you get the Bengals Browns back to back, you got a really good shot of kind of getting your swagger back. So you can think, thank me later for that. I mean, how the Bengals lost that game to the jets two weeks ago is. Is. I think everybody's still scratching their head, but to their credit, they use that special teams sometimes. You just got to find ways to win games and that's what they were able to do. I heard you guys kind of. Kind of having some fun with the fact that Breeze hall took that screen and took it to the house. It was not a great day for the offense, but totality, it's a team that I think is dying to get some wins and especially after the trade deadline. So many rumors about Bree hall. You mentioned McDonald. And now they have what they have and it's go time. And I just love to see a team still fighting. Right? I mean, they're still scratching, they're still trying to find ways to win games. Bree hall gives them, I think, a playmaker, a dynamic playmaker. But the reality is with Justin Fields and his offense, I mean, how about the owner comes out three or four weeks ago and just says, if we could just complete a pass, if we can just complete a pass that was would really help the cause. And for him to have to block that out in the middle of the year and still go out and wear that uniform and that jersey and still go out and compete, he's handled that with great class.
Pat McAfee
I'll tell you what he said. I'm not going to come. I'm not going to complete a pass, actually.
Boston Connor
No.
Pat McAfee
How about that? How about. I'm joking, I'm joking, I'm joking, I'm joking. But saying it is crazy, the owner saying it is absolutely crazy and immensely the mental toughness, which I think we all like about Justin Fields. We like his leadership, we like his mental toughness. I love how committed he is to his body, how committed he is to the sport. I just think on the field it really hasn't worked out. What's your stat to the point of all this?
Boston Connor
Teams coming into this since 1950 when holding opponents to 175 yards or less and not turning the ball over were 225 and 0 is now 225 and.
Pat McAfee
1 for shout out to the bronze, shout out to the Brons and then let's talk about day ball over there. Yeah, obviously they have the quarterback carousel this offseason where they're trying to find out who is going to be the guy that's going to be taking snaps for them after they move on from Danny Dimes. Danny Dimes is now an mp. It looks like Wilson right now. Danny Dimes is obviously in the MVP conversation alongside Jonathan Taylor. We're going to win the Super Bowl. That Saquon Barkley won a Super bowl with Philadelphia Eagles. Everybody leaves that place and has great, great success. Now Dayball is the next one kind of getting booted. What is this an indicator of in your eyes and what are your thoughts on the state of the Giants right now?
Kirk Herbstreet
Well, I mean, you went through that and I think a lot of people thought when they let go of Saquon and they didn't come up with, with answers that following year that Day Ball would, would maybe be let go. They stuck with him. And you know, he, he made it pretty clear. We actually had Patriots Giants preseason and they've all made it very clear to me that Jackson Dart is going to be, be special. You know, he said, I, I, I, I got Russ right now, but man, I really love this rookie and, and what he can do. And obviously eventually we saw him get that opportunity. This is another franchise that just figures out ways to lose games. You know, like they, they just don't know how yet how to win football games and play complimentary football. They play well enough, you go back and look at, I don't know, 4 or 5 of their losses. They played well enough to win these games and, and they just can't, can't close them out. And I think that whoever inherits this job is going to inherit a team that has a lot of potential. I mean, when you put Scatterboo and Malik Neighbors and Jackson Dart all together, all healthy, there's a lot, I think, to work with, not to mention what they have on a defensive front. So whoever's going to get this job down the road, it's not like you're starting from square one. And how do we get this thing going in the right direction? I think the vision of what they had there is, is there. I think you can see it. I just think that this team at times seems to almost be jinxed. They just cannot close out games and games that they played well enough to win that they're sitting there scratching their head, thinking how the hell do we get ourselves in this predicament? So I think it's, I love Dab's a great guy. He'll, he'll land on his feet somewhere. But whoever gets this job, to me is going to have a hell of a nucleus to work with. Moving forward.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I love. We all love Scatter Boo. Obviously Jackson Dart needs to take of himself going forward. We hope he's able to do that. And obviously the New York market is a beautiful one if you're able to win. Will anybody ever again is kind of the question. Bruce, you haven't really got your thoughts on day ball exit in town New York Giants fan Bruce Brown there, there.
AJ Hawk
Had to be accountability. Brian Dabel's 2041 record is the worst of any coach in Giants history.
Pat McAfee
Shout out to Hambo. You know, this was the. Yeah, that's worse than Macadoo, worse than Shermer.
Ty Schmidt
I could do.
Pat McAfee
That's a good.
Boston Connor
Was good before he got that haircut. When he had the bad haircut, he was a good coach.
Pat McAfee
No, he's a Western Pennsylvania guy too. So I didn't love everything he was doing with his hair and all that stuff and the way you guys in New York were talking about him I didn't necessarily love because how similar our names were and how we grew up in the same waters and everything like that. But I thought he would have definitely been the worst. But no, that's not the case, I guess. Embo says, geez Louise.
AJ Hawk
Part of it is, you know, 2022, he won coach of the year and we won a playoff tough game and that kind of extended his leash to.
Pat McAfee
Get to the 61 games to be.
AJ Hawk
Able to lose, lose 40 of them. I mean it sucks. I agree. I think Brian Dabel is probably a good football coach, you know, coached under Nick Saban and Bill Belichick and you know, seems like he's a pretty good football mind.
Pat McAfee
But losing is the disease that infected.
AJ Hawk
The Giants organization and you know, kind of reared its head worse this year than ever before where you're blowing three ten point leads on, on, on the road, but you know, it's also not on all on Brian D. Like Joe.
Ty Schmidt
Shane built the secondary that is turned into the, the worst in the NFL this year.
Pat McAfee
Missed on a ton of draft picks both on, on defense and, and in.
AJ Hawk
The trenches with the O line. So I hopefully there's more accountability. Shane Bowen probably doesn't deserve to be defensive coordinator and I don't know if Joe Shane deserves to be a GM.
Pat McAfee
Looking for a head coach. Giants fans certainly got going through it. Second half losses, especially whenever you have the lead, just, just take it tough. Just take everything out of you. Okay, let's pivot away from the bad news in New York and let's go to some good news. Maybe in Cincinnati. Your Hometown Joe Burrows back at practice.
Ty Schmidt
Wow.
Darius J. Butler
Great news.
Pat McAfee
That's breaking news as of today. Your thoughts on that? As a Bengals fan, I know you just buried them with saying, hey, you want to get on track, you want to get a little good aura, go to Ohio, take on the Bengals and the Browns. Well, now, Joey B. Back on the practice field. What does this mean for you, Herb Street?
Kirk Herbstreet
I really wondered all along with this injury if the Bengals stayed within striking distance, which is debatable, what does that mean? Would he come back? Would he sit out the rest of the year to try to get 100% healthy or what? Mean, you guys know about turf, though, and he had the most severe case of that with the surgery. You just wonder is. Is he. It's great to see him back on the practice, practice field. Is he coming back and easing his way back in? Is this, you know, another three or four weeks away? I have no idea. I have no idea what the case is, but I just love to see that this guy's as competitive as anybody you're ever going to meet. And I'm sure he's dying to get back on the field with his guys. But I wondered. I mean, that division is. Has been upside down all year with the injuries, clearly still appears to be the Ravens division to win. Sorry about that Tone, but I, I'd love to see him back, but I don't know if I'd be in a hurry if I were him with the offensive line play.
Pat McAfee
At what cost? Now, granted, they spent money on everything, and he's a massive piece of that offensively. Are they constructed to win ever? And do we just have them not risk it next year, too, when they start to season? You know, just.
Kirk Herbstreet
I think that's fair.
Pat McAfee
Maybe, maybe forever if we don't get them protected.
Kirk Herbstreet
I think until you, until you invest in an offensive line. They've tried and that. That's been the case since he. They have tried, but the, The. The guys that they've tried with, they've hit a couple, but it's tough.
Pat McAfee
Bengals fan right here just going through it in real time. Like, they've tried to bring in new offensive linemen. They've tried, Herbie. They've tried. Yeah, they certainly have. And guess what hasn't worked. Joe Burrow. He's back for back to practice. It's.
Kirk Herbstreet
Well, ask A.J. well, I mean, Teddy Karras was a hit at center.
Pat McAfee
I love Teddy.
Con Man
Free agent Indiana.
Kirk Herbstreet
God, Teddy Caris is a hit. But that's one hit and a lot of misses up front.
Darius J. Butler
Has Flacco been getting beat up.
AJ Hawk
Whitworth.
Con Man
Right.
Ty Schmidt
It's impossible.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Then they let him go. I think that went out bad is if you listen to the end of that. Even though, hey, he's ruler of the jungle year tonight.
Ty Schmidt
That's right.
Pat McAfee
And they did win the night. He was ruler of jungle. Good to see big wit back in Cincinnati. Hopefully they're in good Lincoln.
Kirk Herbstreet
Brett Whit would start if he came back. He would be a starter on a lot of teams.
Pat McAfee
Maybe tight end on a lot of teams, but definitely in since.
Kirk Herbstreet
Well, he's a tight end now. Maybe he's like 245, 250.
Pat McAfee
I think maybe quarterback's time. We have some scoopage though, here from Jason Glazer. Yeah, scoopage.
Ty Schmidt
Last week Joe Burrow told me he's.
Pat McAfee
Returning way sooner than was expected and gave me the timeline of by Thanksgiving.
Ty Schmidt
Now we'll start practicing on a limited basis.
Pat McAfee
Absolutely unreal Attack of rehab with. He did with me and response at first medical.
Ty Schmidt
People didn't believe he'd be back before playoffs.
Pat McAfee
Huge jump for him. He's a G. Shout out to Jake Laser. Getting a little scoopage there, Herbie. Obviously, that's real time baseball we're doing.
Kirk Herbstreet
Hey, we had a bandwidth that was going to text it. We had the term bandwidth from. From Ty could have used that with Pete Thammel this morning when he was talking. As soon as he said, well, my bandwidth, I was like, I gotta hit pat.
Pat McAfee
Hey, if you would have seen the conversations I was having this morning, brother. I mean, tomorrow's show is about to be pretty legendary.
Kirk Herbstreet
Oh, you guys are going to Parris island tomorrow, right?
Pat McAfee
Yes, sir. Yes, sir.
Con Man
Yes, sir.
Kirk Herbstreet
Oh, my God.
Pat McAfee
Hey. It's about to be something not as. Hey, listen, I don't know if we fully recognize how massive tomorrow is until we're there, because I've had a chance to be there. When you're there, it's just like, you know, you're walking on, like, hallowed ground. Like you understand what. What's going on. And then it being Veterans Day and the people that are going to be coming, you know, a lot of appearances on the show tomorrow. Pretty big names. And obviously you had this planned out long time in advance. You know, wasn't calling everybody this morning to try to, you know, hey, I think. I think we got an incredible opportunity here. We'd love if you'd be able to help. And tomorrow will be absolutely crazy, as we say thanks to the veterans live from Parris Island. All right, Herbie, let's Talk about what we need.
Kirk Herbstreet
You should ride in on the. On the bus the way. You know what I mean? You can you do that?
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Kirk Herbstreet
Get yelled at right there when you step on the steps to the yellow.
Pat McAfee
Footprints there right at the beginning. We'll do. We'll do a special on this entire. We. We will definitely inform people what it's like 38.
Ty Schmidt
I don't know if I ain't signing up to play Marine.
Pat McAfee
Well, I don't think you should. That's what I'm saying.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Boston Connor
We didn't sign that line.
Pat McAfee
And that's why we're going to pay say thank. We're going to say thank you to those who did. But on that note, I have done the right. I've done it. I've actually done it this past summer. Yeah. I don't know if I would have been the one. Man 18 yeah, right. I. I don't. You got some bad gump.
Kirk Herbstreet
Gumpy would have done it. What's the gunk would have done that.
Boston Connor
The Canadian equivalent.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. I don't know.
AJ Hawk
I thought he wasn't a Canadian marine. I thought he was Canadian Navy seal.
Pat McAfee
I don't know if they have.
Boston Connor
They have the mountain.
Pat McAfee
I don't think they have marines. I mean we need to make sure we have some respect here for what the marines are. Happy birthday to them, by the way. All right, let's talk a little bit about what you did this past weekend. You know, on our show last Thursday, you did something you just. You called a sneaky win out publicly. Therefore, if you make a spotlight moment of something sneaky, guess what isn't sneaking anymore. The sneaky thing. So you awoke a potential giant in a massive way. Whenever you said a. Iowa going to beat Oregon this weekend. Oregon heard it immediately upon you saying it. They ran it. Not only then to the team. The entire weekend they were running. Hey, everybody thinks we're not going to show up. Everybody thinks we're not going to show up. Then we get the game day down. Texas Tech, Lubbock. What a crowd. What a place. What a time.
Kirk Herbstreet
Unbelievable.
Pat McAfee
Unbelievable. We get.
Kirk Herbstreet
I'm a huge fan.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, me too. I think I'm happy that they're going to be good for the long haul because I think every time we go there in the future, we need to.
Kirk Herbstreet
Go there every year.
Pat McAfee
Bingo. I think it's going to be awesome. Every single year down there. They took care of it. That food, Evie Mays, best food we've got.
Kirk Herbstreet
Unbelievable.
Pat McAfee
Everything about it was awesome. The set, the crowd, the food the.
Kirk Herbstreet
Everything was nicest night. If you're looking for the nicest human beings, we found them in West Texas. Yes. As an entire group, they're amazing.
Pat McAfee
The tortilla tosses to her. I mean, it's all awesome. That. Can't catch it.
Ty Schmidt
That was so sweet.
Pat McAfee
I think he's strength coach at. I think he's one of the strengths. I don't know what sport, but I think he's a strength coach. I think from what I'm learning. But we finally get to the picks. Patrick Mahomes is there, obviously. Massive fan. Thank you to him for coming through and also giving back to the sport as much as he does down there at Texas Tech, along Cody Campbell and the Double Eagle boys up there. Everything they're doing there is spectacular.
Kirk Herbstreet
First class.
Pat McAfee
But we got to the Iowa Oregon game, and I didn't know what you were going to do. I honestly, I looked over and I had no idea what you were going to do. Are you going to to just say, you know what? I ruined this. I'm sorry, Iowa. It got too loud. I'm going with Oregon. You doubled down. You.
Kirk Herbstreet
You said double down.
Pat McAfee
You said, I'm doubling down. I think I will wins this game. This is a game that Oregon is.
Kirk Herbstreet
Going to, and I gave you the specific. It's a November, dark, rainy. You don't know what's going on. The team that's there has no idea what hit them. Kinnick gets over top of them. 1615, one of those ugly Iowa sports scores. You have no idea how we got to 1615, but that's where we're going to be. That's the final score. That's how I was going to win.
Pat McAfee
So you were calling a game while this was happening, and I was texting you. I'm like, yo, it's two nothing right now in this game. You say you don't.
Kirk Herbstreet
That was perfect. 2 nothing. We're off to a great start.
Pat McAfee
You're like, you have no idea how we're going to get to this score. Like, two nothing being the start of that thing is, like, hilarious. It's like, hey, Herbie, two nothing right now. And then you're calling another game, all of a sudden gets to the point. It's like, hey, Herb, everything. Everything you have said is coming to fruition right now legitimately.
Kirk Herbstreet
How about this quarterback draw? And I'm like, oh, my God, they're going to go for two. If they score this and they're going to miss it, it's going to be 1615. I was like, touchdown. Now we got to miss the two pointer. Ms. The two pointer is all we need.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Well, I want to let you know, just, you've been around college ball for a long time. Okay. But I don't think you're supposed to just know exactly how a game is supposed to end. And honestly, you even knew it when you were saying it, that you might be saying everything, how this game is going to end, but it's going to go the other way because of how. What a ball by Dante Moore. What a ball by Dante Moore right there. But it went the other way strictly because of what you did on Thursday.
Kirk Herbstreet
Strictly giving me.
Pat McAfee
Yes.
Kirk Herbstreet
You're giving this to me.
Pat McAfee
No, I'm not giving it to you. I'm saying it's 100% your fault. You need to be taken.
Kirk Herbstreet
I'm saying you're giving me the blame.
Con Man
Yes.
Kirk Herbstreet
I gave the blueprint. I gave the whole thing.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Your fault.
Kirk Herbstreet
It just. The last minute, last second field goal. I. I can't account for that.
Pat McAfee
Ty, how do the Iowans feel about what Herp street did first on Thursday saying, hey, Dan Lane, dude, if it.
Kirk Herbstreet
Would have been 40 to 6, I would have eaten it. I would have said, that's 100% on me.
Pat McAfee
Okay.
Kirk Herbstreet
But it's 16 to freaking 50.
Pat McAfee
Exactly what I said. Yeah, go ahead. Let's hear from Iowa, please. Let's hear from Iowa, please.
Ty Schmidt
I would imagine that a lot of people in the state are still pretty pissed at Herbie because after. Wait, hey, just hold on, hold on.
Pat McAfee
Hold on, hold on.
Ty Schmidt
After Thursday, because it was kind of. It was pretty quiet. I think a lot of Iowa fans going in were very, very confident coming off the bye week and how they looked against Minnesota. And it's like, okay, we're of. Kind of starting to get things going here. I think we might actually beat Oregon. Then you say it and it kind of magnifies thing. But that's. Whatever. But I. I told Pat, I would have hated you for the rest of my life if you would have picked Oregon on Saturday. It would have been the most chicken thing.
Kirk Herbstreet
Yeah.
Ty Schmidt
Of all time. And when you.
Kirk Herbstreet
Yeah, I didn't. I didn't hesitate.
Ty Schmidt
Exactly.
Kirk Herbstreet
I was not giving up.
Ty Schmidt
So you. You picked the Hawks. And. And you know what? Yeah. Unfortunately, it just. It just didn't go their way. A couple. I mean, Kevin Hayden Wheaton fumbles in the red zone. You know, like, Iowa realistically probably should have won that game by a touchdown. Just, you know, the safety. I mean, they couldn't. They couldn't Punt early in the game, which is obviously very atypical for Iowa. So it was just, you know, I mean, hey, hats off to you, Herbie. I think Iowa fans knew too, that your, your prediction for the game was pretty spot on and it was going to have to be like that if they were going to win.
Pat McAfee
Herbie knows.
Kirk Herbstreet
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
So a lot of people saying Herbie knows nose ball.
Ty Schmidt
Yes.
Pat McAfee
Maybe a little too.
Kirk Herbstreet
I just, I just, I think we all expected it to be. I was being a smart ass when I said 1615. Because Iowa games, they always get into that, that when they pull off these upsets. It's just, how did we get to this number? And so I just threw out a 1615. And damn it if we didn't, if we weren't sitting on 1615 there at the end and I, I, I, I would have officially retired. If Oregon would not have come back, I would have been like, I'm done. 16:15, Iowa knocks off Oregon.
Pat McAfee
You should at least taken a victory lap on Saturday. Saturday, you know, you should have done at least. Yeah. Show the highlight, please. What I say, What I say? What I say? What I say, What I say. Hey, what happened in the game? What happened in the game? Thank you. My name is Kirk Gerb Street. It's been a blast.
Kirk Herbstreet
Goodbye.
Pat McAfee
Pittsburgh would have went crazy for you for your contributions. Cannot wait, by the way.
Kirk Herbstreet
How about game day? Going to Pittsburgh.
Pat McAfee
Come on. Come on. Not bad.
Kirk Herbstreet
We didn't make it to Morgantown, but we're going to make it to Pittsburgh.
Pat McAfee
I saw some WVU people coming after me obviously from for this tweet. Oh, you'll go to this, but you won't go to the backyard brawl. We lost to Ohio the week before, right? Okay. Yeah, we lost.
Kirk Herbstreet
You can't lose in Athens. It's a good football team. You can't lose in Athens, Ohio and host game day the next week.
Pat McAfee
Now on that note, Pittsburgh has not had a Saturday college game day like a full college game day in 20.
Kirk Herbstreet
It was, what, when was it?
Pat McAfee
20 years, I think is what they said.
Kirk Herbstreet
Yeah, yeah. I remember we were along right by the river outside of the stadium.
Pat McAfee
I think we're doing the same spot. I think it's same area, I think. River shot, I think. Is it or no?
Kirk Herbstreet
I don't know. Is there a big park over there on the other side of the river and there a big famous park over there?
AJ Hawk
Boyce Park. Yeah, Boyce park where you play?
Pat McAfee
Boys park's in Plumborough where the ballers ball and the players play it's not downtown. We're in the north shore right here. I think from what I saw, we might be along a river, I think, I don't know know.
Boston Connor
There's a full astro turf field outside of the stadium now because of the draft, I believe. So you might be able to use that for the contest.
Pat McAfee
We think the Pittsburgh kid makes the kick or not.
Boston Connor
You should probably stop doing it.
Pat McAfee
I, I, I.
Kirk Herbstreet
Every week they make.
AJ Hawk
John was some booby traps out there.
Pat McAfee
He needed John. Well, Kirk tried to bring out some blockers, but we had high school kids holding it five feet in front of these guys.
Darius J. Butler
This guy deflate above what a kick.
Pat McAfee
Second one.
Kirk Herbstreet
So I'll tell you what, Pat, you teach me this, but anytime I see a guy slip off his sneakers and go barefoot, this guy knows what he's doing.
Pat McAfee
See, I don't, I don't fully understand it actually. And I think it's more because the plant foot will slip. Maybe some of these because it's like turf, but I don't know why you wouldn't think that a sock would slip too. I don't fully comprehend it. I, I don't know.
Con Man
Vandy was the first time it happened where I was like, okay, this is possible. If someone takes off their shoes, I shouldn't immediately, immediately think they're the stupidest person of all time for just kicking the ball without a shoe on.
Pat McAfee
This guy had like a HOKA looking shoe on a little big base on the bottom of it. The story, hey, we're learning that real time, though, Herbie. I don't think people fully understand that we're learning in real time that this guy missed a kick his junior year of high school.
Kirk Herbstreet
How about that?
Pat McAfee
Yeah, like in real time. I'm like, oh my God, what a.
Kirk Herbstreet
Nightmare in that state.
Pat McAfee
Yes. That's like what a nightmare for that kid.
Kirk Herbstreet
Death threats. Yeah, so he got death threats.
Pat McAfee
He needed to make that first one, bro. That first one. Him missing that first. I'm like, golly, gotta do another one. Got you. For this guy's gonna think about this for the rest of his life.
Kirk Herbstreet
Yeah, the rest of his life.
Pat McAfee
He's. Rest of his life, he's gonna get dunked on even more because now they know about the high school. So only the people at his high school knew. Now everybody knows about that. And also this guy, this guy sucks. Can't do it. So he would, right? Yeah.
Kirk Herbstreet
How about the guy motivation junior year, misses the kick in the state championship. Senior year, you're done. You got kick off. What do you Say, kick off an onside kick or something like that.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, yeah, he was a weapon there. He got the ball back a couple times.
Con Man
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
From my stats and understanding. But the second one, if you hear me, I go, yo, kick through the ball. It was clear what he did. It was probably the exact same thing that happened in his extra point his junior year. Saw his quads tighten up. Literally, as I'm watching him, I see his body tighten up. I'm like, oh, no, not good. And he kind of punches through, thing goes to the left. So I literally was trying my best to be like, yo, swing through the ball, bro. Let's go. A lot of people were saying it was windy conditions out there.
Kirk Herbstreet
It wasn't little right to left, little right to left there.
Pat McAfee
But the tortillas that were throwing, I think everybody thought, like, the wind was taking those tortillas. No, those people were, they were trying to hit that ball. They were trying to hit that ball with those tortillas. I mean, that was the bigger obstacle was the tortillas. Imagine if a tortilla hits that ball. Oh, that's going in. John misses again. Oh, no. What a moment.
Kirk Herbstreet
Oh, look at that.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I'm happy for John. John.
Con Man
Way to go, buddy.
Pat McAfee
John. Proud of you, John. I think the Pittsburgh kid makes it. Okay, let's get back to some college ball talk, shall we? Go ahead, D. Bud.
Darius J. Butler
Yeah. Herbie, obviously we know how dialed in you are to both games, college football and pro football, so you're the perfect person to ask who's QB1 right now in the NFL draft going to next year. I know it was a lot of names we expected coming into this season to be at the top of this board right here, but obviously it's Mendoza and Ty Simpson, Probably Dante Moore, two of the draft eligible quarterbacks. Who's QB1 right now, in your opinion?
Kirk Herbstreet
I don't know if he's draft eligible. I think that, I think Julian saying, and I think CJ Carr at Notre Dame.
Pat McAfee
Okay. Neither of those guys can get drafted. This is just like when you're like, hey, the guys need to shoot. Shut up, dude.
Kirk Herbstreet
The guys we had up on the board have all struggled, you know, like, they, they just think of all the names at the beginning of the year and none of those guys are, are still being talked about. You know, I, I, I really think I, you know, the Lenor Sellers, remember him? Beginning of the year.
Pat McAfee
Oh, yeah.
Kirk Herbstreet
Everybody thought he was going to be the first pick overall. Yeah, the Mendoza kid's been amazing. I mean, what he's doing in Indiana is incredible. How about the drive? Everybody's talking about that catch. How about the drive itself? He got sacked on the first play of that drive.
Pat McAfee
Oh yeah.
Kirk Herbstreet
And brought them back. You know, to be able to eventually get in position to win that game. That throw right there down the seam. Incredible. That kind of reset them and and got them believing. We're so focused on the. On the catch and we should be. That was the best catch maybe we've ever seen. I mean we look at the footwork but look at these three throws that he made to get him down. And see side there just. And he does it every single week.
Con Man
So filthy.
Kirk Herbstreet
I don't know. Did anybody expect Mendoza to be this guy coming over from Cal?
Pat McAfee
No.
Kirk Herbstreet
So in the Indiana.
Pat McAfee
No. So kid Canada's little brother obviously last year Rourke with Indiana was the storyline because it's like will Signetti be able to find another Rourke? I doubt it. And then bring in the kid from Cal and it's like wait a minute. Kid from Cal had a lot of success last year. Kid from Cal has actually had some big, big games. So I don't think anybody was expecting magic but I think there wasn't as big of a fall off for Indiana from Indiana fans thoughts after Rourke leaves. But nobody could have expected him to be the best player in college football or whatever the case is. And then OMAR Omar Cooper Jr. This is an Indiana. He's from around here. This kid's from around here. So we're obviously incredibly happy for him.
Darius J. Butler
Good on Sundays, same catch.
Pat McAfee
And also the ref in real time watching. Perfect healthy.
Kirk Herbstreet
That ref. Look at that ref's form.
Pat McAfee
That's exactly incredible. Just legit.
Kirk Herbstreet
Look at that. And we're looking at in super slow. Look at him. He's got to get out of the way staring. And then he's. Look at his head. I mean he is staring down at that. And he makes the right call. We always rip on the officials. Give this guy some credit. He is right in position to be able to make that call. And, and we're seeing it now. We're seeing a little faster. Here you go. Look at that. Just, just, just outstanding. But I guess to answer your question, Divot would say Ty Simpson, he's not sexy. He's not going to go to the combine. He's not going to go. Look at this guy. Oh my. But he seems to be a guy that has an ability to read, recognize coverage, process ball out. He can move around just enough to be able to be dangerous to be able to keep Plays alive. But we don't have that huge 6 4, £240 guy that everybody's going to say, wow, I can't wait to, to watch what this. Now these guys, guys are probably, they're going to go and people are going to be enamored like they were with Anthony Richardson and others. You know, when they see these guys that are big and strong and can spin it. But as far as seeing the field processing, what are we doing? Processing.
Pat McAfee
That's a good question. That is a good question. What are we doing? Okay. There's no reason to do what you just did right there. None. Okay. There's none. None. On that note now, to echo your.
Kirk Herbstreet
Point, what are you talking about?
Pat McAfee
I love Ty Simpson.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, great.
Pat McAfee
I like his. Love him. Did you see him dap up former teammates too? Boys love him.
Kirk Herbstreet
Oh my God. You see how the boys reacted when they saw him?
Pat McAfee
Yes. Love him. They, they love that guy in the locker room. Mendoza, though, very similar. I think they view him as a nerd who's an absolute dog. I, I think that is kind of it. So I think they will be head and shoulders. I think whenever you start thinking about, you know, off the field stuff in the locker room and in film and everything like that, I think they are going to rise to the top. But to your point, when we had no idea that those guys were going to be guys, another guy that I don't think a lot of people maybe knew if he was going to be a guy, especially after his first season. Now he's leading the MVP odds. Go ahead, A.J.
AJ Hawk
Yeah, Kirk, obviously Pat's talking about Drake May and what the New England Patriots are able to do. They beat the Bucks yesterday. They're eight and two, I guess. Are you surprised at how quickly Drake May has evolved into an elite quarterback? I mean, MVP odds? You see him right here. And are you surprised at all how fast I guess Braves has been able to instill that culture in terms of him into a, a very, you know, viable team to, to make a run at the super bowl.
Kirk Herbstreet
Well, obviously, A.J. you know, Braves and we all love him and, and think so highly of him as, you know, what it was initially as an assistant, a coordinator, and then he goes to the, to the Titans and, and has him on the, on the brink of getting into a Super bowl and, and then last, last year he's in Cleveland just like, you know, just kind of buying his time and hanging out. Eventually you knew he'd get back in the mix. I don't think think Connor even, you as much as you're a die hard, blinded New England Patriots fan, I don't think anybody expected the culture to change this quickly.
Pat McAfee
I.
Kirk Herbstreet
Nobody could have expected this. It's easy to say, yeah, oh yeah. I saw it all along. I mean, Drake May, if you saw him in college, he's another college quarterback that's outstanding. But we see a lot of college quarterbacks that are outstanding, that just don't see the field in the NFL and don't make these many plays this early in their career. So I think Josh McDaniels deserves a ton of credit for the system that he's been able to build. The way they've been able to build this thing, this team, from the ground up. As far as confidence. They didn't try to do too much too fast. I had him again. I mentioned that the game with Dable, they played the Patriots. I had a chance to visit with Josh in late August when they were getting ready to go into the season, and he was incredibly confident. Confident with what Drake May was doing. The communication, the understanding. You can see the relationship that they build. This Drake May has a super, super unassuming team. Guy first, doesn't want any of the accolades, will deflect all the attention onto his team. So he's got the wiring that it takes. But to see this guy execute, what is he at? 19 and five, I think right now in the year, 19 touchdowns, only five picks. So he's playing smart. But I think it's more of the totality of what the Patriots have become with Mike Vrabel. And it's, it's not just, wow, look at the schedule. It's been favorable. No, I mean, it's. It's a mix of veterans with rookies, with a quarterback that's, that's making great decisions. And here they are sitting at the top.
Pat McAfee
Couple more things just to kind of add to your point about this Patriots team. So many different moments throughout that game yesterday. As we're watching, we're racing. Abel is coaching in between plays to guys that are on the field. Like, there was a time, I think it was five, 16 left. Drake May, they're up five rolls to the right, throws the ball out of bounds when they're down in red zone. And you knew that Drake May probably immediately was like, ah, there's no reason for me to throw that out of bounds and stop the clock right here. We could keep this thing alive. It starts getting like frustrated with himself, literally. They shoot over to Vrabes. Vrabes is talking to him like yo, yo, yo, yo, we're good. Then there was a report at the sidelines, like, hey, Vrabe was over telling the defense, hey, nothing else matters except for right now. It's like he's hands on with every single play. And then Trayvon Henderson, obviously, we see the moment where he breaks free and he looks over to the sideline like, should I go down or should I score? And they're probably all like, yo, go ahead and score that thing, dude. Score that thing.
Kirk Herbstreet
So, like, he's a free.
Pat McAfee
What do you talk about? Buy in? Yeah, when you talk about buy in, I think the perfect depiction of it is Stefan Diggs on the hands team. Stefan Diggs on the hand team. Okay. And everybody's talking about, yeah, he should do this. It's like, yeah, yeah, right, dude. Knowing that he's going to get blasted in the face right there. That is only outcome that Stefan Diggs is going to have right there.
Darius J. Butler
Worst ball.
Pat McAfee
And they're like, hey, he needs to do what? This is what number one wide receivers always do. It's like, no, they don't. Number one wide receivers are not being sent out there to potentially get shot right in the jaw or right chest. Go ahead.
Kirk Herbstreet
By the way, look at how their school there. Everybody goes in to make a block, the whole thing. Instead of like five guys going up to to grab the ball, you got a very, very well schooled. These guys are trying to make blocks. We know that that 8's going to go ahead and make. He's got the ball. We know he's going to catch it. And everybody doing the best they can to try to avoid what. What ended up happening because they just had a couple too many. They couldn't block them all. And he still is able to hold on to it. I think you bring up a good point. I think he has a very hungry team, whether it's the blend of rookies and younger players with some vets, but they all are listening to Vrabel. So Vrabel's over there coaching and be series and instead of them being like, get out of here with that, they're just like, yep, they're dialed in listening to what he's saying. So it helps winning, right? I mean, it's easy to become that guy when you're winning. And you know, right now he's got a team that's all in.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I think all in. Stefan Diggs said earlier in the year, I can't believe he got me to buy in. And it's like it's a variable effect that he has seemingly in every building that he has. I mean it was happening in at the American Century class. Whenever he walked into the tent, he walks in, everybody's just like, what the hell is this species? He's doing that. He's a great leader. He's an alpha in every sense of the form. But it seems like his empathy for these young guys, like not to beat yourself up too much is what's showcasing the most. The Patriots are a problem. Drake May is the odds on favorite for the mvp and the Colts are going to win the Super Bowl. We'll be back tomorrow live from Parris Island. Goodbye.
Con Man
All right.
Pat McAfee
That's a pretty good send off.
Ty Schmidt
Hell yeah. Not bad.
Pat McAfee
Sorry.
Kirk Herbstreet
That was great.
Pat McAfee
We're still live. We're still live, Herbie, you know, we're still still life. We're still alive.
Con Man
Just someone that won't get enough love. And I'm actually hopefully doesn't. Just so he doesn't get any sort of opportunities outside of being the offensive line coach for the Patriots. Doug Marone came in in their left side of the line. Will Campbell and Jared Wilson, both rookies. Jerry Wilson, I believe played center at Georgia last year. I think he was our third round pick. Will Campbell, obviously number four overall, that, that toss left to end the game. The Trevillon touchdown. I mean, that's right. But behind Will Campbell and we got a defensive lineman, Tonga, playing fullback, who played eight snaps at fullback actually.
Kirk Herbstreet
And look at that block.
Con Man
Yeah. Three guys, the amount of guys on the ground and there goes Vita Vea. But the other run, that, that was a 55 yard touchdown. That was Jared Wilson, basically one on one rookie on Vita Vea. So it's one of those things where I don't know what's in the water or what, you know, Doug Marone is feeding the offense offensive line, but they're playing their ass off and like that's why, you know, you get chills just thinking about how good these young dudes still so.
Pat McAfee
And on that note, still so. I mean Christian Gonzalez is unbelievable and he's starting to have his own little island starting to happen there in this entire season. But they're up into the right, but they're still so early. Yeah, there's still so much for Drake, for Vrabel's culture. I mean, another off season, drafting your guys, free age. I mean there's just, just so much for these Patriots fans.
Darius J. Butler
Yeah. BA always talks about, you know, having rookies ready if they're ready by November, by Thanksgiving, you're in a Good spot. Trayon Henderson, he looks like he's coming along. Kyle Williams, he had a big time play and a great sign of your team going in the right direction. I, I hate this for vets sometimes, but when VRA came in and they moved on from Kyle Dug, who had a huge contract, and they moved on from Peppers, who was a solidified vet, that lets you know how these, these young guys were playing, how they were building. You go and get Carlton Davis, who's another number one corner. Christian Gonzalez is unbelievable. And they came into this game without allowing one rusher that they faced to reach 50 yards. Like that's crazy at the halfway point in the season. So they are in tandem right now, defense and obviously we know the offense is making plays and they're explosive.
Pat McAfee
All right, Herbie, last question for the NFL here from Green Bay packers owner Ty Schmidt.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, Herbie, how you see this game going tonight? Obviously you had the packers your first week of the regular season for Thursday Night Football, and they looked unbelievable, look like a different team then. And I believe you had the Eagles when they got beat by the Giants. They obviously look a little bit different now as well. What do you expect out of this one tonight?
Kirk Herbstreet
Yeah, I, I, you're right, I, I, when I had Green Bay and as you all know, I mean, it's, it's such a long grind of a season and, and you know, got guys get hurt and teams become a bit, little bit different. Eagles have changed their season around from where they were. I mean, I think offensively they were really struggling when we had them. They were just starting to kind of find some things, find some answers. Think the Minnesota game obviously changed the complexion maybe their season, and then they followed up with a big win over the Giants. So I think their offense is in a much better place. I think they were, they were arguing with each other. They really couldn't find answers for, for Saquon in the running game. They were just trying to find ways to get him in space. And I think now you're starting to see a little bit more balance putting Jalen in, in more favorable positions to be able to throw the football. So that's a tough one.
Pat McAfee
Man.
Kirk Herbstreet
That, that is a great game. It's in Green Bay right tonight.
Ty Schmidt
Yep.
Kirk Herbstreet
Great, great matchup and it'd be fun to, to watch Micah chase, chase Jaylen around. I think it'll be a, this has got that, that fourth quarter, last second kind of feel who's going to get the ball late. I don't know what the spread is, but it feels like it's going to be a tight, tight game throughout the entire game. And give Green Bay a nod because they're playing at home at night.
Pat McAfee
One and a half is the spread. Green Bay is favored by. And Schefter came on earlier and said this is tosh bush game. Green Bay packers wanted to ban the tush bush. Michael Parsons said it was a stupid play. Philadelphia Eagles, Sirianni. They heard that. They heard that. So look for some tush push.
Kirk Herbstreet
Oh, we love that.
Pat McAfee
Yes. Oh, we Love that. Yeah. 28 degrees and snow at Lambeau on Monday Night Football in November on the Marines 250th birthday here, November 10, 2025. This is perfect. This is the football God saying, congratulations. We're halfway through this. Tonight you get a chance to watch the super bowl champs take on the traditional historic powerhouses of the NFL in a movie like setting.
Con Man
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Something that Steve Sable would draw up to launch NFL Films where the legends would step foot on this same exact land that is holding the snow tonight. That could be this evening for the Packers.
Con Man
Yes, it could.
Pat McAfee
Eagles could win by 50.
Ty Schmidt
No, I don't think so.
Pat McAfee
Okay.
Ty Schmidt
50.
Pat McAfee
Okay. You knew what I was. You know what I.
Kirk Herbstreet
You got, you got, you got pack one on a last second field goal with me.
Ty Schmidt
The way Brandon McManus is kicking right now. No, I don't. I think it's either packers win a close one or. Yes, they could be by like 17 or something like that.
Pat McAfee
Multiple scores.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Con Man
No way. This is, this is the Go Packo game.
Ty Schmidt
This is where they play to the level of their opponents. They played like against Carolina last week. They'll look great this week. And I don't know who they. They play probably the Saints next week and they might get beat next.
Pat McAfee
All right. Packers minus one and a half. Packers minus one.
Con Man
I'd go. I'd go packers six and a half. Jalen hurts in that weather. Give me a fucking break.
Pat McAfee
Sounds like Herbies. Packers minus one and a half. As a Philly. Oh, no. He's got no connection. He's unstable. Oh, maybe it's a snow.
Kirk Herbstreet
Here I am. Yeah, here I am.
Pat McAfee
You got packers minus one and a half.
Kirk Herbstreet
I got packers, no question. Last second. They're going to win it late.
Pat McAfee
Last second field goal, AJ packers minus one and a half.
AJ Hawk
Absolutely.
Pat McAfee
Okay, I'd like to let you know currently, A.J. a.J. You and I are sitting one pick away from each other for the weekend. You're five, seven, one. I'm six and one on the weekend. Okay. Obviously I Flopped a little bit. You flopped a little bit on a few. It's not easy at this stage of the game because ass teams aren't ass all the time is what we're learning and obviously Colts win the game in Germany. I'm happy don't cover kick the field goal.
Con Man
What the hell. Can we kick the extra point please.
Pat McAfee
Then yeah we start doing everything. Yeah yeah yeah. We need be little closer. So A.J. you're on the Packers. I'll give you a chance to tie this thing up. I guess I'll take the Eagles I guess I guess I'll take the Eagles plus one half dbut who are you.
Darius J. Butler
Got you know last two team times these two teams faced off and came out to the red zone. Packers are 2 and 7 in the red zone and that's where they will lose this game. They are used to Michael Parsons this offense. Oh my God and I love Jaylen Herz. I don't care what the weather is. You look at him taking taking care of the ball he's going to do that. The trades Jalen Phillips, Michael Carter came over now so we may see coup on the outside a little more. Give me the Eagles with an alternate spread of -6 and a half.
Pat McAfee
Okay, he likes it a little bit more. He said let's put a little bit more meat on that bone for these dogs in Philadelphia. Sportsbook breakers are given some stats here now. We have not double checked this but it looks good. Philadelphia is a small underdog tonight as the Eagles travel to face the Packers. The Eagles have been fantastic when the line is tight. Eagles are 80 overall 80 against spread since October 2024 with a spread between negative 3 to plus 3. Philly has won these games by 12.6 points per game.
Ty Schmidt
That means nothing to me.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, yeah, that means nothing to you.
Ty Schmidt
Have they played the packers all eight of those games? Oh no, they haven't.
Pat McAfee
Okay then who gives a oh, you're Signetti. You know Indiana's never won here.
Ty Schmidt
There teams never play here.
Pat McAfee
Next question.
Kirk Herbstreet
Great answer.
Pat McAfee
Great answer. He always has. Hey, what are you concerned with? Nothing. It's time to attack. What are we talking about? Concerns for Thursday. Wednesday. Now we attack and play football. Thank you. Any more questions? Legend AQ Shipley FaceTiming me during that game. They're frauds. Sick, sick. Many comes out runs his mouth before the game was like he was answering questions that it's a minute before the game starts like what do you want from the guy talking his can't even beat this. Sorry.
Kirk Herbstreet
Oh aq must have been wowed up.
Pat McAfee
So I told him, I said Mendoza's about to literally told him I had a Kirk Herbstream moment. I go, you think Mendoza's losing his g? Hang up on him literally mid sentence. And then as Omar Cooper Jr. Is coming down with that and Jack Dasher I believe is the ref's name as he makes that call of a touchdown. I watching the game, don't think it could be at all, but am taking it as Jack as I am. Yes, exactly. Jack with a good call. I take that opportunity to call AQ back. AQ goes, that was pretty good drive out of there, out of Mendo. He goes. I'm like, yeah, Indiana is still surprising people, I think. You know, I think Indiana is still surprising people. And then the number two team in the country, Big Ten has. Not me.
Kirk Herbstreet
I, I'm, I'm all in now.
Pat McAfee
Big Ten has power at the top. Big Ten has some real power. I think they're very confident in it as a whole. But as we look at this college football. What a catch. What a catch.
Kirk Herbstreet
Omar Cooper, that right toe didn't tap in too, did it?
Pat McAfee
No, I do not think so.
Boston Connor
He hovered it.
Pat McAfee
A lot of people say that it did. They, they say good in the NFL. I think they're saying cuz his toe and then his heel hit both of it.
Kirk Herbstreet
Watch this right, Watch this right.
Darius J. Butler
I thought it was.
Con Man
Even close to touching.
Darius J. Butler
Let's see.
Pat McAfee
I don't know if it. It was definitely close like right.
Darius J. Butler
Oh, boys.
AJ Hawk
I thought he hu. Because he knew it was going to be out.
Kirk Herbstreet
Yeah, I don't think it ever touched.
Pat McAfee
But people were saying it would have been good in the NFL. Is that because left toe and then left, left heel. Two different touches. Same foot though, right?
Darius J. Butler
I think we all think two feet. Cuz I said good on Sunday too.
Con Man
But that was the Garrett Wilson touchdown from last year in prime time. That got called the touchdown.
Pat McAfee
Was it his foot or was it?
Con Man
Cuz I thought it was. No, I thought it was toe. He had shit in like.
Pat McAfee
I do wonder if the toe and the heel. Cuz I saw everybody saying good on Sunday and I was like I don't know. Cuz it looks like to your point, Herbie, I am into camp that I thought it hovered which was incredible that it didn't touch and out of bounds. But they're.
Darius J. Butler
I guess I'm in the camp that.
Pat McAfee
It touched his right. When was it? When he was touching back Right before the left one. Okay, so let's go. Let's run that thing again.
AJ Hawk
I thought he saw it.
Kirk Herbstreet
You take it.
Darius J. Butler
I think the right one took right there.
Pat McAfee
Where?
Con Man
Where?
Darius J. Butler
Let me run it back.
Pat McAfee
No. Can we zoom in on this at all? No, we cannot zoom in in this.
Boston Connor
Can he NBC it?
Con Man
Yeah, I think he just missed.
Pat McAfee
I don't think he does so. I thought it was incredible body control to keep that right foot up.
Kirk Herbstreet
Oh, my God.
Darius J. Butler
Did the Penn State defender keep his right foot? Yeah, that right foot where he kicks his. Yeah. Boom. Why you like.
Pat McAfee
Oh.
AJ Hawk
Oh, no.
Darius J. Butler
So that. Yeah. So I don't. Yeah, it didn't touch. You're right. I'm out if it get.
Kirk Herbstreet
Bro, that didn't. That right foot never touched.
Pat McAfee
I saw a lot of people saying good on Sunday. I'm like, oh, it must be foot foot. But I. I didn't even know that.
Darius J. Butler
This is the first time I'm nbcing it like this. So.
Pat McAfee
Hey, it's right here, too. Pretty good.
Darius J. Butler
This is great.
Ty Schmidt
If that get gets called a touchdown in the league, though, it might stand.
Boston Connor
Yeah.
Ty Schmidt
It might be tough to over.
Pat McAfee
I don't know. I think it doesn't. I think it's clearly doesn't touch.
Kirk Herbstreet
I think the other thing, if they heal touched out of bounds, it's still a touchdown, right?
Pat McAfee
Yes. Because the toe in college or in.
Kirk Herbstreet
College, if the toe touched pro, definitely. And then the heel would have been out of bounds, given him the touch with the toe.
Pat McAfee
Really?
Ty Schmidt
That's exactly.
Pat McAfee
All right, let's talk a little bit more about college ball. Indiana, we feel like going to be in even if they don't win the Big Ten. Yeah. Feel like they have done enough that people will say this is one of the 12 best teams in the country. Group of.
Kirk Herbstreet
They're. They're in no matter what happens.
Pat McAfee
I think so, too. Group of five has to get in. And then Tone has a question for you about college ball, the sport we all love.
Boston Connor
Yeah, I do. Herby, obviously, preseason in the acc, it was going to be Clemson and after week one and then for a few weeks it was going to be Miami and then they suffered a loss and it was going to be Georgia Tech and then they lost and it was going to be Virginia and then they lost and then Louisville and then they lost. So now we are here. Could be them. But does anyone want to win the acc first and foremost. And do we even have to let an ACC team in? Are we sure those are the rules?
Kirk Herbstreet
I guess those are the rules. We got it.
Pat McAfee
We get you do.
Boston Connor
You do have to let an ACC team.
Kirk Herbstreet
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Listen I hope it's on the last.
Kirk Herbstreet
Two weeks, the accident last two weeks for the acc. Every team that's, that's ranked and up there is lost.
Con Man
They suck.
Kirk Herbstreet
So, you know, they're, they're back, they're back to Pitt. Pitt becomes the team everybody's going to want to talk about. I mean, they, they, they have everything in front of them. If you look at the schedule. I mean, they, every, if they want to get in, it's right in front of them. Notre Dame, Georgia Tech on the road and Miami. I mean, could it set up any better for Pitt? You know, if you want to be the team that's going to say, hey, we, if nobody else wants to go, we'll go to Charlotte. We, we'll make a run. I mean, they, right now Georgia Tech should be the, the odds on favorite, but I, I, I think Pitt, they look different with this, this quarterback plan for him. We'll see. We'll see if they can get by. Even if they lose to Notre Dame, they're still theoretically alive because they can, they can get within their own conference and get to that conference championship game.
Pat McAfee
Now on the flip side, Notre Dame.
Darius J. Butler
Hey, Duke is the second.
Kirk Herbstreet
No, they can't lose.
Ty Schmidt
Yes.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Cuz the controller.
Darius J. Butler
Who, who did I play last week?
Pat McAfee
North Carolina?
Boston Connor
No, they lost, didn't they?
Pat McAfee
Oh, I thought you, oh, last week. Yeah, Saturday, Yukon got a huge one. Somebody had him as their superdog.
Boston Connor
It was Herbie. Because of Gumps.
Darius J. Butler
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Wow.
Darius J. Butler
Nick. Nick gave him some love too. Coach gave him some love.
Pat McAfee
Good for the Yukon. Hey, you took a bigger lead in superdog. That's what I just heard.
Kirk Herbstreet
I, I'm going to give Gumpy. Get a shot of Gumpy there in the control room. Gump. Thanks, buddy. You, you, you steered me into that one. You, you, you. I'm going to talk to you again on this Friday in the production meeting, so get ready.
Pat McAfee
Thank you. Gum, come up with another one. Thank you.
Kirk Herbstreet
I had Iowa. I was going to go Iowa. And then I thought about Auburn and Vandy and then Gump said, no, no.
Pat McAfee
No, no, no, no.
Kirk Herbstreet
You got to go, got to go Yukon.
Pat McAfee
That's awesome. Joe, how about a little faith in Yukon?
Darius J. Butler
How do you say his last name, Tone? Because it's one of those Italian last names.
Boston Connor
I don't want to, I don't want to be wrong here.
Pat McAfee
There's going to be a lot of Italian last names at this game.
Darius J. Butler
Well, he's ball 25 touchdowns, no pick. Scholar Bell. He's top one or two in all the wide receiver categories doing some things up there in stores.
Pat McAfee
I'll tell you. Sanga Poelli with that winner over Louisville and Louisville going for. Let's go get this. Nope, not going for a field goal. Touchdown. Let's go for it.
Con Man
And over. That hit the over right there. The over was 49 and a half.
Pat McAfee
Thank you, Songa P. Thank you. Overtime games to delivering four overs. But this guy, I mean, I understand Cal's got a lot of money. We love Cal. We got. We love g. We love Cal. Song. Polytelli's market is going to be outrageous this offseason, Kirk. And I think Pittsburgh's going to be on Saturday as well. A lot of Irish people in Pittsburgh, Kirk. A lot of Irish.
Kirk Herbstreet
Well, lot. Lot of Italian. A lot of Irish.
Pat McAfee
Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. A lot of.
Kirk Herbstreet
You grew up in Italy. You grew up in an Italian neighborhood, didn't you?
Boston Connor
Yeah, Few pollocks.
Pat McAfee
All Italians. All Italians in my neighborhood. And now on that note, the Italians will be delivering, I think, this weekend, grazi to all the Pisanos. That.
Kirk Herbstreet
What. What's the best Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh?
Pat McAfee
So there's a place called. Watch your mouth. Watch your mouth. From what I've experienced, Serafino's is a place that's obviously being talked about in a big way. Bill Carr's favorite spot is Seraphino's.
Con Man
Hell yeah.
Pat McAfee
Nar Doozy's favorite spot is Serafino's.
Boston Connor
My favorite spot is.
Kirk Herbstreet
I gotta go there.
Boston Connor
Girasoli's. It's down in Shadyside.
Pat McAfee
Okay, what you're gonna know and you know this. Just go ahead and take a walk around, and it'll be like, oh, here's an Italian joint there. What do you guys do? Pizza, sandwiches, pasta. Got it. Okay. And then you're gonna walk a little bit bit further. Oh, what's this? Okay, what. What. What happens in here? We got pizza, sandwiches and pasta. Okay. Sick. That is so nice. And then you're going to turn a corner, boom, guess who's going to be there. And it'll be the best that you ever. It's.
Con Man
And then you'll see the Olive Garden and walk right in.
Pat McAfee
Don't all.
Ty Schmidt
You can eat breadsticks.
Pat McAfee
There's no fazor.
Con Man
There's no Sorry.
Kirk Herbstreet
Not as good as Marion.
Pat McAfee
No, no, don't be doing it. We know that.
AJ Hawk
Yeah, Marion's, Bill's Donuts, Variants of Bills.
Kirk Herbstreet
Right across the street from each other, guys.
Pat McAfee
Who.
Kirk Herbstreet
Yeah, who?
Darius J. Butler
Tom.
AJ Hawk
Kirk. Kirk's big on that.
Pat McAfee
Centerville, Ohio. That's the home Of Rob Daredek, I do believe. Right. Or Circleville.
AJ Hawk
Kettering.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
AJ Hawk
He's Kettering.
Darius J. Butler
Rob the big.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Con Man
Wow.
Kirk Herbstreet
Kettering.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, Kettering, Ohio. Right next to Centerville. The home of a bar that I had fre. Frequented because my holder in college is from Centerville, Ohio. He's a proud Elk alumni, as we are here with a couple proud Centerville Elks here.
Kirk Herbstreet
I didn't know that you're a Holder.
Pat McAfee
Oh, yeah. Jeremy Cash. Legend. Legend.
Ty Schmidt
Wow.
Pat McAfee
He's still in Centerville right now. I think he's still doing it. And I think he's. I think he will be doing it till the day he dies.
Con Man
The bar near the school with, like, the low roof. That bar?
Pat McAfee
Yes. Yeah, yeah. It was a good bar.
Con Man
Awesome bar. Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Let's scratch off. Pull TV stabs, you know, Dark karaoke, maybe Smoking six.
Kirk Herbstreet
Sure.
Pat McAfee
Great breaks. Everything. You get asked for a lot of booze. It was right there. Right there next to Circle or Kettering. Right there next to Kettering.
Kirk Herbstreet
Kettering.
Pat McAfee
Circleville.
Kirk Herbstreet
Oh, man. Right. I know the. I think I know the place you're talking about.
Pat McAfee
No. Centerville. Yeah. Rob Daredek, the best. Who's making.
Con Man
Yeah. Oh, yeah. He.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Con Man
Yeah.
Kirk Herbstreet
He made a lot of money, right?
Con Man
46 seasons in 11 years.
Ty Schmidt
Years.
Con Man
He was making 30 a year for ridiculousness.
Pat McAfee
That's just that show, let alone all his other. Shoot, everything else. Rob Dyrdek right here.
Con Man
Yeah. You're talking about respect.
Kirk Herbstreet
Head of the. Head of the ball game, huh?
Pat McAfee
One of the goats in this entire thing. And rest in peace to Big Black. Oh, yeah, Obviously. Legend had a beer 40 with him.
Con Man
Former Marine.
Darius J. Butler
Really?
Pat McAfee
He had an incredible vibe. Yeah. He was just joking. I don't think. Big Black.
Con Man
Yeah, Just joking.
Pat McAfee
Who was the Miller Light guy?
Ty Schmidt
Wendell.
Pat McAfee
Wendell. Ray. Rest in peace to Wendell. Had a few Miller Lights with him as well. Rest in him. Yeah. I believe he. Yeah, he was here in Indianapolis a few different times. Had a great time. Big Black. Great time. He was great vibes. What a great show.
Kirk Herbstreet
Turns out, if that heel would have gone out of bounds.
Pat McAfee
Okay.
Kirk Herbstreet
It would have been incomplete.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, it's a good update. Big up.
Kirk Herbstreet
I wanted you to have that now. It makes you appreciate it that much more.
Boston Connor
Terry McCauley.
Kirk Herbstreet
Watch. Watch the toe.
Pat McAfee
Got that right.
Darius J. Butler
I can't believe I thought that rifles.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Yeah, but you didn't see. You saw it on your phone. You saw it on your phone.
Darius J. Butler
Yeah, exactly.
Pat McAfee
So the heel being in is huge. Yeah. If. If what? He lifts it up and falls out after the toe touch is still good as well.
Kirk Herbstreet
Yeah. If the heel touches out of bounds.
Pat McAfee
But if right here he lifts off of his toe onto the ground and he'll never touch.
Kirk Herbstreet
He'll in bounds. Yeah. But I'm saying as his foot comes down, still touching.
Pat McAfee
That's crazy. Omar Cooper Jr. Indianapolis Indiana boy down there for the Hoosiers. Fernando Mendoza, potentially gonna be on the show today. He. He. He was not able to.
Kirk Herbstreet
Okay, that was 35 minutes.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. He's got class, right? All right, Herbie, we're gonna get out of here, I think, as a show, as a whole, brother.
Kirk Herbstreet
All right, boys. Go get him tonight. Pack. Good luck.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, good luck to the Eagles as well. For those of us that have fly Eagles, fly the Philadelphia Eagles at plus one. But also good luck to the NFL. Let's have a great prime time, please.
Kirk Herbstreet
Let's have a great one. Need it snow. Big ratings. Close game.
Ty Schmidt
Wow.
Kirk Herbstreet
Love to watch those.
Pat McAfee
Wow. The ratings are going to be problematic, you know, because there is black, you know.
Kirk Herbstreet
Is that still going on? That's still going on.
Pat McAfee
Send another tweet, Herbie. All right. Be your friend. Tell a friend something. Don't actually do it.
Ty Schmidt
Don't you dare.
Kirk Herbstreet
You coached me up on that. Now I know.
AJ Hawk
I went. I went to the site.
Pat McAfee
Herbie, why don't you break us down then we're going to take a break and we'll come back and do all the overreaction and be on our way. But this is our last time with you, Herbie, on this glorious overreaction Monday. Anything to say to the team here, Herbie?
Kirk Herbstreet
Love you, boys. You guys are the best. We love Mondays. So we can overreact with you guys and all just get it off of our chest and then start a new tomorrow. Appreciate you.
Pat McAfee
Your show with Joey G. Sweet non stop.
Kirk Herbstreet
We appreciate you checking in this morning.
Pat McAfee
Absolutely. Great show. Great Show. It's on YouTube.
Kirk Herbstreet
Thank you.
Darius J. Butler
A while that they were teammates in college and me and Joey Galloway were teammates in the pro.
Pat McAfee
That's how long.
Kirk Herbstreet
He was fast.
Pat McAfee
That's nuts.
Darius J. Butler
He was still fast.
Pat McAfee
He could still.418.
Kirk Herbstreet
What's that?418?
Darius J. Butler
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Can't make a putt. I see on his Instagram. Can't make a putt. But I love that man.
AJ Hawk
I do.
Pat McAfee
Enjoy the hell out of him. All right. We'll be back on the other side with overreaction from around the NFL. Be a friend. Tell a friend something nice. It might change your life. We're in this thing together. Team on me. Team on three. One, two, three. This is Kevin Clark for manscaped.
Ty Schmidt
Look, being a man doesn't mean skipping self care.
Pat McAfee
I do this show three times a week and every single time I do.
Ty Schmidt
A little self care beforehand.
Pat McAfee
Okay?
Ty Schmidt
Grooming, the hair, everything. You guys see it.
Pat McAfee
You don't wake up like this. You don't wake up like that. You got to do. You got to get the stubble going. You got to get rid of that awful mustache I had last spring. Listen, I tried.
Ty Schmidt
I thought the mustache over the.
Pat McAfee

It's time for WhatsApp message privately with everyone. Learn more@WhatsApp.com Football is magic. Well, that's AJ Hawk. The toxic tables here at Boston Connor and at Ty Schmidt. One half of the hammer done. Cowboys AP. Tony's here. Tom, what are the numbers on tonight's game? We already made our picks because Kirk Herbstreet was so damn confident about how this was going to go. And I'll say, I tell you, he's seeing the game. Yes, he is seeing the field right now. Now certainly in college, it will carry over to Monday night Football. Feels like he thinks this is the last second field goal for Green Bay to get the win. He picked Green Bay minus one and a half. AJ Hawk, you picked Green Bay minus one and a half as well. Obviously feel obligated to as the all time leading tackler. But why do you actually believe that as well?
AJ Hawk
I mean, I think it's going to be one of those magical nights in Lambeau. I truly do. I saw there's, there's flurries possibly going to happen. It's just. Yeah, good luck beating this team. Josh Jacobs on the ground. Even though I have a ton of respect for Phillies D line and what they can do. But man, I just think Jordan Love puts it together. This is one of those games you look back on, you know, two months from now and you say, hey, we took a big step that night.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, the Eagles could be saying the same thing. D buck, couldn't they be?
Darius J. Butler
Yeah, I think they will. I think the Eagles fled tonight. I just looked up the odds. It's around +250 for my alternate line which is -6 and a half. I had no idea that graphic popped up with the, you know, them being 8. No. Against the spreader straight up and winning those games by average of 12.6 points. I believe Saquon finding his footing. I think it's a bit of a. A runaway for the Eagles tonight.
Pat McAfee
Tone, what's the number? Who's on what?
Boston Connor
So if you want, you get the packet. Minus a half. You can get the Eagles at plus that one and a half. If you guys want. If you, you don't want to go with debuts. Minus six and a half alternate spread there. 80% of the bets are on Philadelphia.
Con Man
Boom. Love that. Love the pack tonight. Love them.
Boston Connor
One team's coming off a terrible loss this weekend. Who just played in a bad weather game this weekend. Teams that are getting 60% or more of the bets are four and seven.
Darius J. Butler
Oh no. Oh, that was that four.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Ty Schmidt
Good.
Con Man
Okay.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I feel okay. I feel okay. Cuz I didn't like that 80% number there. It was really high. I said football gods, why don't you bless me with a U ball shot right here, see if I'm going in the right direction. That was splashy splash right there. That was good news. But we're not going to be able to play anyways. Let's get some overreaction, shall we? This Monday of football season could be a special one. Could be a breaking point for some fans and it could be a making point for some fans. That's why we kind of want to get the temperature, the lay of the land around the league with different fandoms. So I put out a tweet to say, hey, why don't you tell me how you feel? What do you think of your team? Are you great or you ass? All you got to use is the hashtag. I don't want to overreact. Ty will scan through them and find his favorites. It ended up being a top three trending topic. I do believe we Appreciate everybody loving Ball as much as we do and also utilizing this tweet as a therapeutic session to kind of get it all out of you. Let's start first with Evan Fox. Okay, this guy, handsome guy, good beard. Okay, one point, we saw him, he didn't have a beard much. Different life now with a beard, super handsome, very mature. Two weddings, this guy got married twice. It was, it was truly a wonderful thing. Same person, wonderful bro. Yes, same person. Same person is an awesome person, by the way. Just this guy has lived with the Lions his whole life though, you know, he's looked forward to Thanksgiving all the time. Hashtag. I don't want to react, but not only is MCDC the best coach in the NFL, but he's also the best play caller in the NFL. Do not fuck with Four Eyed Dan Campbell. Hashtag1Pride. Amen, brother. I mean, it was a masterclass, seemingly by Dan Campbell. Yeah. If we're overreacting right now, just based off Lyons Twitter, everyone was done with John Morton there. And listen, love Johnny Moe, but the offense was clunky. It didn't look right, didn't look like a Ben Johnson's offense. And then mcdc takes the reigns over and it looks amazing. Everyone's eating, everyone's getting balls. And also, I gotta add this in there. After a loss, Dan Campbell hasn't lost the next game in 1100 days. And that's just incredible coaching. So I'm happy he's our guy. Yeah, certainly happy he's your guy. For the sake of your life and your football fandom. You know, him taking over play calling and then being great. Do you think this comes from everybody complaining about not getting the ball on Monday and Dan Campbell saying, enough of it, I'll just call the plays. And did we know this about Dan Campbell as we were talking about Ben Johnson's genius? Do we think Dan Campbell also maybe had a hand in this in the past? Or is it just like, hey, I'll jump in whenever you need me, A.J.
AJ Hawk
I, I bet before it was probably very collaborative throughout the week and everything, but when it comes to, to the game, like, only one person could be calling the plays in. Can have the radio and radio it into to the quarterback's helmet. But yeah, you're taking bits of advice and everything throughout the game, but think about it. You're the guy making the call. You're on the clock. As soon as that play ends, boom, we're on to the next one you're planning for, you know, future drives, which this has been awesome. So far, watching all this. What a shot. Also sorry for the gentleman that got suspended. What a shot he had on a monitor. I'm sorry, I just thought of it again. Jeez, that was just, that was a violent shot. Yeah. So credit to all involved, I guess on this one.
Pat McAfee
I mean I, he felt he saw.
AJ Hawk
That right at the last second, didn't he?
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I just, he had his hand ds. I, I, I genuinely don't know.
Darius J. Butler
Oh.
Pat McAfee
How we got to this point. I'm sure both parties there certainly understand now they are not good friends, but whenever they were good offense, they were when winning games. So mcdc to take over the play calls. I wonder what happened.
Boston Connor
Johnny Moe has got to be so pissed too. Mcdc is like, oh yeah, I'll take a take over over the calls against the commanders. Johnny Mo's like, we can call literally anything and score 50 against commanders.
Pat McAfee
Oh, but that's the thing is they weren't utilizing all their weapons. So I think if you listen to what was said by some of the players afterwards, like we got a lot of good guys. When we spread around, we can all kind of eat or whatever. I think there was a lot of, of complaints happening, Dan Campbell about not getting the ball. I think there's people pissed off and Dan Campbell was like, you're right, man. You're right, man. I'm, what can I do? I'm going to do it. And then he just gives the ball to everybody. I mean, how many people had literally play changing games? Felt like all of the stars had big time plays. J O had six catches. St. Brown had five catches. LaPorta had five catches. Khalif Raymond had four catches. Jir Gibbs had 173 total yards. So. Yeah, and my favorite part about it all, and this is just being a good, good head coach, is when even though they were winning games, they're five and three, it just didn't look right. And he knew something had to change, so he changed it and he put it on himself. What if he has six turnovers next week? Man, oh man, oh man. And then we had a whole another conversation. Oh man.
Con Man
Johnny Morton was calling plays, man. Yeah, it wasn't me, man.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, just like Vilma, just, oh man. Yeah. For some reason he just wouldn't say that. Dan Campbell's calling plays and I don't know like if he just thought that he couldn't, you know, but he was like alluding to it. He was like, sure looks like he's potentially. And they resumed in on his face and he was Talking and he had glasses. And I think they even showed Jared Goff go like this to him and then him go, hey, Jared. You know, while he was doing it. And they just refused to say it, you know, like on the broadcast. From my understanding, did they ever get to the point of saying, hey, it's very obvious that Dan Campbell's calling the plays right now. It just felt like they were a little gunshot. Yeah. Never, never outright said it. But that tweet I just showed you guys, that came out right when the game started. So clearly Garfallo knew this change happened and was just getting out in front of everyone. So that's why it was so weird that Jonathan Vilma wouldn't just address. Yeah, hey, Campbell's calling the plays here. Velma could see him with his glasses on and the thing. And Johnny Moe not having a play sheet. Like, they kept showing that on tv. It was very. It was very obvious. I'm telling you. It was in between plays. There were shows showing. This is the offense coordinator not doing anything. He's literally not saying. He's just sitting up there, Just sitting up there, having a good time. Got a good little goatee, I think. I don't think I knew exactly what he looked like. And they go back to Dan Campbell, glasses on, while the play clock's happening. He's like, he certainly looks like he could potentially be.
Darius J. Butler
It's like, brother Campbell, like, finesse them and like, the production means, like, nah, Johnny Mo will be calling it. You'll see me with glass.
AJ Hawk
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. They wouldn't confirm to Vilma. Maybe, Maybe they asked him, hey, are you. You gonna be calling plays, coach? And he's like, no. You know, it's all. It's no team effort.
Pat McAfee
I respect Jonathan Vilma. I'm not gonna say I don't. But as I was listening to him talk, I'm like, are we all. What am I missing? I. I had it muted at first. Then they see Dan Campbell with his glasses on, his little thing. I'm like, that looks sweet. Let's go over there. And then I hear Velma saying, this guy maybe not calling place. It's like, he's clear. Have we ever seen him with glasses on? Have we? This four eyed guy? Never. I don't think we've ever seen four eyed guys doing it. But I appreciate Jonathan Vilma, okay? I do appreciate Jonathan Vilma doing his thing. Kenny Albert doing their thing. And the president call play. Love what they're doing, but just refusing to acknowledge what was clearly happening, which will go on to be one of the biggest stories of the entire game. Basically it's like, hey, this Detroit Lions team completely changed. Who's calling plays here. The head coach is now in charge, which then goes to a whole. Do the coordinators matter? If mcdc can just go ahead and do everything. And he has said, he has said this place should be able to operate without me in here. Is it what I want to build? What a good spot for the Detroit Lions. Let's move on. Vilmont. Kenny Albert. Great, great work out there. I'm just saying, every time I heard the conversation about Izzy calling plays, it's like, this guy's been in the NFL a long time. Like, what are we. Maybe he was being told you can't.
Ty Schmidt
Well, I was just waiting for Kenny Albert to be like, yes, he is. You know, usually that would be his role, but he didn't.
Pat McAfee
What did Kenny say to the president?
Ty Schmidt
The only thing I listen for when I hear Kenny Albert talk, if he's not saying yes, just over and over again, it's kind of in one ear out the other.
Pat McAfee
There was a lot of those for the Detroit Lions.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, exactly.
Pat McAfee
A lot of big time throws and, and yes, touch them.
Ty Schmidt
A lot of them.
Pat McAfee
And then commander Sterner over Detroit Lions got the ball again.
Ty Schmidt
And oh no, but yes, that's kind of his bag and that's, that's why.
Boston Connor
I love him so good.
Pat McAfee
Is the president going to be joining you in the booth tonight, Kenny? Yes. Do you have a plan for the president? Kenny?
Con Man
Yes.
Pat McAfee
Are you going to have him call a play? Kenny? Yes. Whenever the commander score, is the president immediately going to acknowledge the ratings boost that that has to be because this game is being been boring in a blowout. Yes. Okay, let's go to the next several reactions from Boston Connor. Legend living in his best life right now. Hashtag. I don't want to overreact, but the Patriots are so much better than your favorite team. And this year's draft class might go down as the best draft class in the history of ball. Take a long look and get used to it. Again, tell me about the draft class, con man.
Con Man
Yeah, every single one of those players on there played their asses off. Tron. Of course, everyone knows I, I believe he reached 22 miles an hour. We're just talking about that at the break. Kyle Williams also 72 yard touchdown filthy. He's, you know, kind of sitting a little bit in the back seat right now. Just because K Shawn booty's doing so, well, Jared Wilson, starting left guard, Will Campbell, of course, starting left tackle, and then Craig Woodson. I texted D Butt during the game. He's the reason they were so comfortable letting Kyle Duggar out the door. He actually had a massive pass breakup on third and three, which led to a fourth and three, which led to a turnover on downs. He is very, very good. And then the photo on the right. McDaniels, you know, the. The. The coaching staff is not going anywhere. Everyone they have, but not everyone, essentially everyone they have has either been a head coach or who has been in a kind of higher position. And everyone just feels comfortable being under the Mike Vrabel, supreme commander, head coach tree. And I don't think any of them want to leave. McDaniels has already said, I just want to coach Drake May for the rest of my career. And that's the most important thing. Head coaching matters. I mean, we just heard everything. We just talked about, about mcdc and Foxy. It's actually the only reason I'm worried about my packers pick because I think LaFleur sucks. But the Patriots are unbelievable. There is a chance here that this. This draft class one just kind of picks up the Drake May basically flag and just continues to run with the man. The Pats are going to be good for the next 10 years with Drake, May, and Vrabel, and it might go much, much further after that.
Pat McAfee
Congrats to you guys. We're really bummed out for you for this couple of years.
Con Man
And I. And I felt that and I appreciated that. And now you guys can just be happy.
Pat McAfee
Okay? We are happy for you. Again, it's not just the Patriots. Yeah. Red Sox looks like they're going to be good.
Con Man
Yeah, they're on the up and up. And don't look now, but Marco Stern has those Boston Bruins playing pretty well, too.
Pat McAfee
Oh, yeah.
Con Man
Oh, yeah.
Pat McAfee
And hold on.
Con Man
Luka Garza had 16 and 8 last night, and we beat the Orlando Magic as underdogs. Joe Missoula, if he's not the head coach of the Celtics, he's going to coach his son's team because he doesn't want to coach for anyone else. And I fear that might lead to a very terrible life for Coach Missoula, but he's going to be the head coach in Boston for a little.
Pat McAfee
Okay, so you got a young head coach there. You got a new head coach of the Patriots. You got a newer head coach for the Bruins. Where the Red Sox go. I know. They got Tony. Tony, right.
Con Man
And we. Yeah, we got Tony. Tony. Also, word on the street is Derek Scubal wants to be a Boston Red Sox baby.
Darius J. Butler
Really?
Con Man
So. So don't look now.
Pat McAfee
The.
Con Man
The. The kind of four major teams that you guys and myself have been so used to being just dominant in title town usa. We. We had a little bit of a drought. Won the NBA championship two years ago, but we had bit of a little, little bit of a drought.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, I had a parade still.
Con Man
They're all the way back, all four of them. It's dangerous times for everybody else. I feel real bad. If you're not a New England sports fan, it might get real ugly across the board.
Pat McAfee
It has been in the past. Yeah. Yeah. Massholes being given a lot of reason to be muscles. It's certainly a time that we're staring down here and we all need to understand that, you know, we try to give a little bit of a warning at the end of COVID as people were starting to roll, roll out in public. Okay. Try to remember this. Try to give a little bit of a warning. Like, hey, oh yeah. When you're at your house all by yourself and you're just popping off on the Internet like there was no actual repercussions other than people saying you're jerk. Okay. Real life people punch you in the face. Okay. You need to remember that as we get out of our house and we go into public in society, let's remember that there are people that are about. About it out there and not about. About it with your bullshit and they will put punch you in the face. First weekend of sports, it was a knockout. Every baseball game, every. Single. It was boom. The bang of the pound. Felt like that was an observational thing from us that we did pretty good societal studies in the entire thing. Another one. Mass holes are about to be all the way back and very loud. Remember what it was like 10 years ago, 15 years ago. It's about to be like that again. We should prepare accordingly.
Con Man
Yeah. And I just really worry that within these next couple years, Paul Skeen strips up to Boston and then we have a real problem on our hands when it comes to those four.
AJ Hawk
Definitely a chance.
Pat McAfee
Well, he.
Con Man
He's an LSU guy. Will Campbell too, I believe. They're kind of. They're. They're kind of friends, actually. And when you hear Drake May speak, just feels like him and Skins are kind of like soulmates, you know, like they both. They both are just about their sport.
Pat McAfee
That.
Con Man
That's it that, you know, Drake may. I'm sure he is more than a football player, but He's a football player through and through. There's. There's nothing about him that's not ball. And also his. The comments under his wife's tick tock. Because his wife is just kind of. I mean, she's got a man in the shade. You know, she's married to Drake May, so she's just kind of cooking and it's awesome, actually, and it looks great. All the comments on her tick tock are hilarious. It's just, hey, if don't. Don't let Drake eat too much tonight. Unless he. Unless he wants to. Then let him eat whatever he wants.
Pat McAfee
First lady all of a sudden. Yeah.
Con Man
Lady May, if you will. But yes, it is. It is wonderful to be a new lady.
Pat McAfee
May is certainly a fantastic name. Congratulation to the maze and the May flower that obviously, of course, descended upon Massachusetts again. Other teams searching far and wide for this.
Con Man
Oh, yeah.
Pat McAfee
And they other cities begging for this. Oh, dear. New England says, let us take it again. How could they let Variable go back there? How? The Titan, you know, Rainbow said something about the.
Ty Schmidt
He did.
Pat McAfee
Just don't put our names in the same sentence. Good luck, Nashville. You guys are going to do great.
Con Man
Yeah, he'll figure it out.
Pat McAfee
They got to be just w. Every Titans fan just like, what have we done? What they're chanting.
AJ Hawk
They're chanting his name as he comes in and beats him with his new squad.
Adam Schefter
Yeah.
AJ Hawk
Things happen.
Con Man
What is kind of sweet that we should talk about is how great the NFC is at the top. The AFC isn't that great across the board, aside from New England in Indianapolis. Like it really is. If you're looking at the top, especially right now. Like, how great do we feel about the Broncos, Steelers, Chargers, Bills, Jags? Like the Chiefs of. The Chiefs are in the middle of a dynasty. I feel fully expect them to be at least the 5 seed if not come back and win that division is.
Pat McAfee
By the way, I didn't.
Ty Schmidt
He's much more pretty put together.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. He's much more stocky.
Con Man
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Like kind of jacked than you think, you know, because everybody sees photos and they think he has. He was. Hit him on the back a couple times. It's like, oh, this guy. He's got some.
Con Man
Got it.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Because he's been hitting a lot of. First thing he shows up, I go, you gotta stop taking these hits. I'm sick of it. And he goes, what? I'm giving the hits. I'm not taking hits. I go, exactly. This is the problem I'm talking about. You need to Stop thinking like that. So made sure I added it on air just so Chiefs fans, everybody know. I am.
Con Man
Thank you.
Pat McAfee
I am on your side. He needs to stop trying to run, people. He's already a goat, already has a Hall of Fame resume, and now he's like, you know what? Yeah. I'm actually the toughest guy on this field, too. I'm going to start doing. It's like, we know you are. You've proved it. Way to go. We need you not doing that. He's special, dude. You should have seen him when him and Mrs. Mahomes walked onto the field. It was just like the whole place goes crazy. Wasn't on the Jumbotron at first as he was walking out. So student section area. This corner basically goes crazy. Then they put him up on the thing, and it was just like, you watch the entire title wave. Yeah. Just absolutely go crazy. It was like, holy. Then they're wearing his uniforms out there.
Darius J. Butler
Sick.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. He's done good. Yeah, I'd say done good. New college ball, too. I don't know how his picks were, but he, like, he knew it very, very well.
AJ Hawk
Did his picks go all right? Yeah, I don't know how his picks ended up. Yeah, he was good on there.
Pat McAfee
I don't remember.
Con Man
Yeah, I'm not sure. He did say in there, though. The favorite guy for him to watch right now is Dante Moore. And we. As far as the draft goes next year, we really didn't talk about him with Mendoza and Ty Simpson. Dante Moore might be one of those.
Pat McAfee
I saw people saying that Ryle is going to be upset. He said that?
Ty Schmidt
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Pat McAfee
A lot of people saying that.
Darius J. Butler
I saw those tweets.
Pat McAfee
He was hurt. He was talking about active. He was. Yeah.
Con Man
The Incredibles meme.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Con Man
Of the. Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Yeah.
Boston Connor
Dante threw some really good balls in the rain.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. What's that?
Boston Connor
Dante threw some really good balls in the rain and all of his wide receivers were out.
Con Man
He only threw the ball, like, five times. Right.
Pat McAfee
You guys could have won that game.
Ty Schmidt
Should have won that game.
Con Man
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
But, hey, that's life.
AJ Hawk
Yep.
Pat McAfee
We knew they weren't. We all knew they were.
Ty Schmidt
No, I don't think so.
Pat McAfee
As soon as Kirk Kirst street opened his mouth, whispered on Thursday. Yeah.
AJ Hawk
But that was it. That move right there.
Ty Schmidt
That would indicate, like, I. I was more worried about, oh, they're going to get routed. Like, they're going to come in, and it really, you know, like, Iowa had their opportunities. They outplayed them, actually.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. But the football gods just weren't going to let that happen?
Boston Connor
That fumble?
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, the fumble.
Con Man
The fumble.
Pat McAfee
Oh, six, seven. Is that what you just did right there? Yeah, it's really alive and well. I. I noticed that whenever Saban went like this while he was giving an answer, the entire student section, everybody just immediately went to it. I was like, holy shit, this thing's got real motion.
Darius J. Butler
It's got legs.
Pat McAfee
Yes, it does. Yes, it certainly does. And I'll tell you what, I'm starting to find a lot of different ways to use it. You know, if it's going to be a part of society, we. We should start maybe using it. Then you got the people going, when's this over? I'm like, I. I don't want to be the bearer of bad news. I just watched 10,000 people do it all in unison. None of them talked about it. So I think we're currently what you like to call in its prime. Oh, yeah, I believe we are currently in prime, and it's going to have some more time. I believe that was. That loving place was crazy. All right, let's go to another overreaction, shall we? Phoenix Maximus, fan of the program. I believe a lot of action. We appreciate the hell out of them. Don't know who it is. Hashtag. I don't want to overreact, but Tomlin and his Steelers live off of his historical greatness more than a Greek tourism department. The best ownership in Pittsburgh is Fenway at this point, and damn, it hurts to say that. Fire everyone except boss. I don't know if the Fenway group is still in with the Penguins. If. If they are, I believe they suck. They are trying to get out, and we are hoping that they are on their way out. But on that note, the Greek tourism board, that's throwback.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, I thought that was.
Pat McAfee
That's back when the Greek gods were really doing their thing, kind of getting us over there. Do you think that's true on how people view the Pittsburgh Steelers?
Boston Connor
Funny fact. I believe I either muted or blocked that guy last night.
Pat McAfee
So that's good. Phoenix match.
Boston Connor
Yeah, Pretty sure he's a bit chirpy, but no, what he said there is not incorrect. Tomlin coaches like it's 1988, you know, run the ball, protect the ball, try to force turnover. Over. So it's old. It's. It's worn out.
Pat McAfee
We're over it. Whoa.
AJ Hawk
You're over this whole season, Tone.
Boston Connor
No, no, I'm going to point the season where they can't hurt me anymore.
AJ Hawk
I don't know if that's the case.
Boston Connor
No, literally last night, for the first time in my history of a fan at half, I said, I know how the second half's going to go. And I turned it off. I really never, ever done that in my entire life.
Pat McAfee
That's dad, husband, full time job, life right there on a Sunday night, saying, yeah, I'm not letting him do it to me again.
Boston Connor
Yep, wife's out of town. So I knew I, you know, if I had to deal with stuff, it was going to be me. So I said, you know what? I'm not letting the Steelers ruin my night.
Pat McAfee
And I did.
Boston Connor
Defense wasn't bad, though. It was. Aaron played the worst game you could possibly play as a quarterback.
Pat McAfee
We had six turnovers last week against Pittsburgh Steelers.
Darius J. Butler
I saw a negative 10 passing yard on a graphic earlier in the show today.
Pat McAfee
So there was a couple. Yeah, yeah.
Boston Connor
But you saw it. You saw it. I mean, he overthrew dk. He overthrew John. Oh, he. It was. Aaron has been incredible this season.
Ty Schmidt
I want to.
Boston Connor
I'll say that. But last night was horrendous.
Pat McAfee
He.
Boston Connor
He was on the three yard line and thought he was Michael Vick and decided to jump backwards into the end zone for. For safety.
Darius J. Butler
That was.
Pat McAfee
How many people in Pittsburgh are saying the exact things that you just said right there. Did you hear that? I just heard every Pittsburgh dad go.
AJ Hawk
Yep.
Pat McAfee
Oh, Aaron Rodgers, 47 years old, thinks he's Mike Vick. Okay. You're gonna outrun Khalil Mack. Okay. Aaron. Yeah. Go further into the end zone next time.
Boston Connor
We could win the next five or we could lose the next five. And that's just how it is right now.
Pat McAfee
Good luck to the Steelers and Phoenix Maximus. Yeah. Let's go to the next overreaction. This one's from Grant. I believe that's a Korean flag at Grant Andres. Maybe international teacher, some hashtag. I don't want to overreact, but Colts winning the Super Bowl, Indiana Jones sucking the blood out of the Falcons defense. JT Ramming through everyone like a juggernaut. The football gods blessing us with Warren not even worried about this schedule. Me neither.
Con Man
Grant.
Pat McAfee
Hell, yeah. Everything you just said was right. I knew it was a big day for Jonathan Taylor just because I saw him running a lot. But with the way the game was going, I don't think I expected it. Whenever they said, he is 220 yards right now, I was like, 220. Wanting. Good, good. Morgan, Jonathan Taylor. This has been a great day over there in Germany. And then obviously with his ability to Break. The long run, long run. The home run. 1. It's like any game is changeable. If we're losing, we're out. There's a chance we're about to hit a home run. This is the longest touchdown of the season for Jonathan Taylor and the NFL for a run. It's like this guy's outrageous. Four, three touchdown games is insane. Offensive offensive line seemingly all the way back. Now they do have to protect a little bit better. And snappers got to get the ball to Daniel Jones's chest whenever he's snapping it. We can't have him bouncing all over the place. Danny Dimes has another two turnovers this week following last week's sixth turnover game. So eight turnovers in two week period. We end up with a win throughout. So that's good news. But if we get that cleaned up, which we should be able to. Danny Dimes is making massive throws. A lot of people want Daniel Jones to go back to who he was in New York. I hate to break it to you. With little to no time left, he was dropping Dimes in overtime. He dropped an absolute dime. Like the big moments, whenever they called for it, Daniel Jones delivered, which I think is what everybody who wants to see him fail would say he can't do. He can. Tyler Warren, to his point about the football gods blessing us, he's unbelievable. He had his ankle tape too. I have no idea what he's got going on, but he's not going on the field with an ankle tape like that if there isn't something real. So I assume he's pretty banged up. He had a couple. Huge, huge. He had a fourth down obviously for us earlier. That one in overtime puts us in position to kick the field goal if we want to to win this. Instead, Jonathan Taylor says, let me just go and pull him away and then I'll do my dance. All over Germany and the Colts were the home team. There was an interesting situation with Cleet Blakeman and coin toss at overtime, but it felt like it was a home game too. Bjorn Werner was on the anvil beforehand. Stood up to put one crazy. The guy who sings the band, what's his name? Scooter. Scooter performed his song. Everybody was dancing. Deflo was not performing. He was probably there. If I had to guess, Edra and James, Dallas Clark were doing a bunch of stuff. Kalin built a parking lot or a pick a park. I mean, I'm so sorry over there. It's like the Colts at Carly Ursay goes and buys a round for everybody. Everybody that was at the Colts home base bar. And then we actually got inside information from source in Germany that maybe were the DJ for a couple of different events. And the DJ said to us that Carly Ursay walked in. Okay. I don't think she was supposed to plan to be there. Asked the dj, hey, how do you say let's fucking go in German? DJ tells her and then she says that to the crowd. Place goes absolutely crazy. She does a how you doing doing maybe buys a round and then leave. So it's like Carly Kalin. The Colts tried to embrace Germany I think as much as possible and I think Germany was embracing them back. Especially with our history with Bjorn, former first round pick and obviously everything he's done for the game over there. And then we put on a show for him. It was like home run situation for a Colts home game in Germany. And I was really proud of the entire franchise and organization to be absolutely.
Darius J. Butler
Took a total team effort. You know, going overseas. It's always different challenges you got to deal with. It's a team. We hope coaches always say, hey, play the whole 60 minutes. We've seen teams around the league lose leaves Jaguars, Giants, whoever it is in that fourth quarter. So for us to close the game out, Bagley making a kick, Badgley making a kick after he missed a couple which, which was a big time kick. We needed it. Defense getting a stop in OT and offense going down and getting it done. And then obviously Sauce Gardner, you trade two first round picks, that's going to be a conversation. A lot of eyes are going to be on him. I can imagine what he was trying to deal with, learning the playbook, traveling, doing all the different things. So I'll give him a pass kind of on this performance even though he had a good performance. But I don't think it was up to his standard. So I'm excited to see where we're going with this full, you know, kind of this whole new team and new generation with Daniel Jones. And then the celebration, we got to about talk about the celebration with Cam Byner. Cause this, I think this was a two America's type of situation with the Colts tweet and we talk about, hey, you never want to be the main character on black Twitter. The Colts Twitter handle was definitely the main character on Sunday after the Cam Bynum team. If we can pull that tweet up.
Pat McAfee
We'Re looking ok. Yeah.
Darius J. Butler
So Cam Bynum, you know, so Drew Hill, you know who Drew Hill is. You know the big time R and b group.
Pat McAfee
I'm 38 years old, so I know.
Darius J. Butler
38. Yeah. So they can thong song. Exactly. Lead singer. But their, you know, main kind of dance move. Once we pull a clip up, we'll see what that is. But it became more popular in the last, I would say probably a year or so on Twitter. In a group of Twitter, Black Twitter, parents have started to punish their kids with Drew Hills. Like, hey, give me 10 Drew Hills. Give me 20 Drew Hills. And obviously, kids have been pissed off, so cam binary and pulled it out. And then we'll have the post right here with the.
Pat McAfee
Do we have the Colts post or just the dance? Yeah, yeah. Here's the. Is this the Colts post that he was talking about? This is the dance. Can we show the dance first? We'll show the dance. Okay, so here's the dance, and then here's the. The.
Darius J. Butler
So great execution by the boys. Great. You know, they are all on the same page. And then with the tweet, though, the tweet had the coats were getting jiggy with it, so I don't know if they thought that was a big, big Willie performance. And then once you go down in the comments, you'll see a lot of, hey, all right, we know who's running the Colts account. We know what's going on here. So just be schooled up.
Con Man
Be.
Darius J. Butler
Be on. On the same page.
Pat McAfee
How many views on that? Getting jiggy with it. That got in. That got into Black Twitter.
Darius J. Butler
It got in the middle.
AJ Hawk
Just got to be sure. Right? Be sure before you go for public with it.
Darius J. Butler
Right.
Pat McAfee
Got jiggy with it.
Darius J. Butler
See how many views this one got.
Pat McAfee
Scroll down, scroll down. Okay. Yeah, a lot of people saw some.
Darius J. Butler
Great comments, a lot of quotes, a lot of. Yeah, so it's one of those moments, but great vibes. Huge win by the coats over there in German.
Pat McAfee
They did get chicken.
Ty Schmidt
They did.
Con Man
Still a fact.
Pat McAfee
That's what's. That's what's being said in the social media department. We weren't saying it was Will Smith. We were. We were just saying. Saying that they were, as you can see, kind of getting a jiggy.
Ty Schmidt
Look at 32. He's getting jiggy with it right there.
Darius J. Butler
Are they not getting jiggy?
Pat McAfee
So you're telling me that's not getting jiggy? Okay, I thought we're trying to get jiggy with it. I love it. The Internet's the greatest.
Darius J. Butler
It's the best.
Pat McAfee
Let's go to another overreaction tweet show. This one's from Trozen Few 54. And we appreciate you Being great at whatever you do. Hashtag, I don't want to overreact, but the Bills are dead. Move us to Canada and get it over with. I'd rather shut my balls in a car door than ever watch what I had to witness on Sunday again. Tear down a new stadium and put the Buffalo statues out of their misery. All right? This guy wants them to kill the statues that aren't tall enough.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
Get them away from everything. Bill's obviously loser to Dolphins. Their fans not happy about it. Remember, not all ass teams are ass all the time.
Con Man
Nope.
Pat McAfee
And on that note, every once in a while, really good teams are going to play like ass, which I think is what happened on this particular field down in South Florida. Obviously, Dolphins fans are very excited. Gumpy's got a hoodie. He's got a hat. I mean, he's got the whole thing. On this victory Monday, they were celebrating in the locker room. They love McDaniels. This comes after they fire Greer. So maybe a special Sunday for Miami. And on that note, Bills fans, you can't give up that quick. Can't give up that quick. Now, there's some trends that are happening to this Bills defense that I think are alarming for Bills fans if you want to win a Super Bowl. Hembo sent us a stat. They're not stopping to run at all against good running backs. Derrick Henry goes crazy. Bijon Robinson goes crazy. Achan goes crazy against the Buffalo Bills rush defense. So they certainly have reason to be, you know, a little bit alarmed. But on that note, let's not be putting our balls in a car door. Okay. Let's not be smashing any balls in doors at this moment.
Con Man
Yeah, they're a fickle bunch. I think the reason is because they. They are looking ahead. The Bill schedule is very, very tough. They got the Bucks at home. Tough game. Especially Bucks coming off a loss at Houston in prime time at Steelers Bengals December 7, which.
Pat McAfee
So you're saying a lot of things. I'm hearing. Not the same.
Con Man
Yeah, yeah, true, true. Two of those three so far, not great. But now the Bengals in December 7th with what we heard today. That's Joe Burrow. If. If he. He comes back at New England Browns.
Ty Schmidt
Okay.
Con Man
And then the Eagles. So just with that race, like they.
Pat McAfee
I'm a Bills fan. I'm pretty excited. I'm pretty excited for what we got down the stretch here.
Boston Connor
I did keep going to Debone's Twitter to see how Bill's mafia was feeling yesterday, and there was just nothing there.
Pat McAfee
It was interesting.
Boston Connor
Hard to Tweet when you're losing, maybe.
Pat McAfee
You know, he can't be a front runner, you know.
Darius J. Butler
Yeah.
Pat McAfee
True de bound understanding. He's national champion football players. Yeah. He knows he's natural. They got the Eagles still. They got the Bucks still. They got New England still.
Darius J. Butler
Kincaid got hurt again, too.
Boston Connor
He's their best laugh.
Pat McAfee
All right, so let's say those are three losses besides.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah.
Con Man
And then Joe Burrow, Bengals. I think we just kind of have to wait and see.
Ty Schmidt
I guess they're, what, a game and a half behind the Pats right now. They really. They really can't afford. And I think the Pats, I mean, you know, whatever you want to. However you want to look at. And we talked about how there are. Every team in the NFL is good, but in terms of, like, strength of schedule, I think they have the easiest remaining schedule the Pats do. So it's like, can you even. Can you even afford to lose three games?
Darius J. Butler
Do we think the Bills can win the super bowl this year? No, I don't think anybody.
Pat McAfee
Put that headboard up again about the rush yards. Yeah. That is going to be tough to win a Super Bowl.
Darius J. Butler
BA was talking about.
Kirk Herbstreet
They are weeks ago.
Boston Connor
They're 31st in rushing. Like, it's not just those three.
Con Man
Yeah.
Darius J. Butler
And even Josh Allen still 31st against.
Boston Connor
The run is what I mean.
Darius J. Butler
But, like, if you look at the offense as a whole, like, that offense isn't scaring anybody outside of James Cook.
Ty Schmidt
Guys couldn't get open yesterday at all.
Pat McAfee
Hey, I saw a lot of sick flexing out of Miami. Guy got a pick, I think grill, full grill right in the camera. Them celebrating afterwards. I'm like, good for my.
Con Man
Good for my having fun.
Pat McAfee
This is the experience you're supposed to have as a professional football player. Yeah, I like that you're getting to have this now. Are they potentially thinking, who knows when this is coming again? We have no idea. Everybody unload the clip on. We've wanted to do. Okay. Unload. Get the laundry baskets. Get the noise, get the music.
Darius J. Butler
It's first for me.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. And get the stage ready for coach. We need a spin. A Rudy hit the worm as well, sir. We need coach standing on a riser. We need everything. We don't know when this is happening again. We need all the speed peaches. We need all the chance. Let's get the cigars in this. This is football. This is what it's supposed to be here, boys. This is what it's supposed to be.
Boston Connor
Do all coaches stand on stuff when they talk it's like just.
AJ Hawk
It's his own little stage. It looks like they travel with that thing. Looks like its own stage.
Pat McAfee
It was a home game. The world is a stage. And McDaniel certainly taking advantage of it. But, yeah, he just wants to be able to see everybody in the back, you know, that's just kind of how this is. Got the next overreaction, shall we? From the Buffalo Bills slamming their balls in car doors to top Tyler Stevenson. Hashtag. I don't want to react, but whoever that. That said Koc and JJ9. We're gonna run the NFC north, needs to be held accountable. This team will go absolutely nowhere with this alter ego, loser, qb. Round of applause to Quasi and KOC on this move. I miss Darnold. A lot of Vikings fans not happy about nine.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, people are sick of the nine thing. I think if he would have just said, I'm J.J. mcCarthy the whole time. No big deal. Hey, our. Our young quarterback had a little bit of a rush. Tough game. But, I mean, the alter ego sucks. I think that's the problem.
Pat McAfee
What do you mean? This guy's new to the NFL. He's your first real snap. She's a rookie.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, but like you said, I mean, I think.
Pat McAfee
Well, he's not. But you get it right?
Ty Schmidt
And you can. You can. You know, we've seen it with Josh Allen. Like, you can get a little bit more accurate, you know, while you're in the league. 2042 ain't gonna cut it. And some of these interceptions that he.
Pat McAfee
Was throwing Manning through 20 receptions.
Ty Schmidt
You think J.J. mcCarthy's Peyton Manning? Just.
Pat McAfee
Just early.
Ty Schmidt
Just. Just early on. We don't have to do a whole. Just yes or no. Do you think. Do you think J.J. mcCarthy is Peyton Manning? Personally, I don't.
Pat McAfee
I don't know if Peyton was ever saying 18. Call me 18.
Con Man
Exactly.
Pat McAfee
I mean, maybe.
Con Man
Sure came up.
Ty Schmidt
Don't call me Peyton. I'm 18. On the field.
Con Man
People also are not happy about the nine thing because Matt Stafford, people are like, oh, this guy thinks he's the number quarterback. Matt Staff, number nine in soccer.
Pat McAfee
Huge deal, too. So, I mean, there's a lot of, like, yeah, nine indicators.
Darius J. Butler
I saw a lot of replies on the Post locker room, the video when he was, you know.
Con Man
Oh, yeah. Well, not just that.
Pat McAfee
Like, he threw 142.
Darius J. Butler
Yeah.
Con Man
He threw one good pass in the. In the. In the. In the first quarter, and he's walking down the field like he just won the game.
Pat McAfee
He got an unflappable confidence. He's you gotta be confident so we can say whatever we want about him. Hold on. Let's get into this, you guys. You guys seem early.
Darius J. Butler
Still early.
Pat McAfee
Jj. I believe, buddy. I believe in you, jj. I believe in jj. Everybody says he's the guy. Mentally, it's like, we'll see. Offseason, hasn't had like a career in NFL Career, really. Opportunity. This is his rookie season. He's in there for the first time, so he might have some ass throws, like off by 10 yards. Happens with guys that need to work on accuracy and all that stuff, which he certainly does. But from everything we know about him, he'll take ownership of that and hopefully get better.
Ty Schmidt
Yeah, the. A lot of what I was seeing too was, oh, boy, J.J. mcCarthy is going to turn Justin Jefferson into Stefan Diggs when he was in Minnesota and.
Pat McAfee
Then KFC won't let that happen. Somebody's gonna be throwing a ball to Justin Jefferson.
Con Man
Yeah, Drake May.
Pat McAfee
It sounds like somebody is gonna be holy. No, he went to the Bills. You better hope not. You better hope. Especially with Brandon Bean looking into Jalen Waddle allegedly during the trade.
Con Man
Yeah, he was going to go to the Bills because they were the kings of the AFC East.
Pat McAfee
But that's over.
Con Man
And now this year, everyone sees what's happening. You want to play for Mike Vrabel and get Drake.
Pat McAfee
Have a lot of money too, up there.
Con Man
We have the most money by a wide margin over the next few years.
Pat McAfee
I'm smart. They got a lot of picks. I mean, they.
Con Man
Yeah. Held on.
Pat McAfee
I don't know how we let this happen as a. As a league. As a league.
Con Man
And I don't know what it is, but the number three is now mine. It used to be four, but now the number three is my new favorite number. Because if you just look at, you know, just the importance of it. Jason Tatum, Jalen Brown and Drake May all the number three overall pick. I mean, it's just one of those things where they just fall into your lap sometimes.
Pat McAfee
Other people make decisions. You guys say thank you.
Ty Schmidt
You.
Adam Schefter
Exactly.
Pat McAfee
Let's go. The next overreaction. This is what life is now. We've been trying to give warnings. This is from @NFL opinions. Hashtag. I don't want to react, but the jets are back. We let the stars walk and instantly become better. Have fun with slips, Gardner.
Con Man
That's good.
Pat McAfee
Sorry about.
Boston Connor
It was a two point play.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. Any guy got a good get off, he was trying to jump and he knew it was going to be a quick play. It was worth two, wasn't worth six. Everybody thinks that's a touchdown. It's a two point conversion rate. Now, was it pretty important? Certainly. Certainly it was fourth quarter. He's one on one out there against their guy too. So obviously it's what you bring. Sauce Gardner in there. It's a German grass. Yeah, it's a German grass.
Con Man
He's used to poopy Metlife.
Pat McAfee
And he got tripped up too. I don't like the Drake line and kicked his feet when he was running there. It was a little cheating there. I like Sauce got his hands on the ball. It felt like throughout this, throughout the game got more comfortable. Everybody kind of got more comfortable. They're getting live reps. Like, hey, this is what we're going to do in this moment. This is what we're going to do in this moment. Because I said it felt like through the game like Sauce and a defense were figuring it out. That's really what it felt like. And if you think about when he got there, when he got cleared from concession protocol, they had to travel to Germany. What's that like? Is there a walkthrough? There hasn't really been much for Sauce to kind of get involved. So I think real reps were really all. And at the beginning it looked like there was a disconnect and then it looked better. Him getting cooked there for the two point conversion certainly sucks. Trey kicked his feet, so kind of cheating there. But I think he's a massive. And I think he had a great game.
Darius J. Butler
Yeah, legitimate for what he was dealing with. Once again, I think to Sauce's standard, I don't think it's up to his standard, but he was dealing with a lot. I kind of give it a wash, literally. If you're watching the game, you can see a lot of the times, whoever it was, Kenny Moore or Cam, whoever, you're communicating with him almost to the last second to make sure he's doing what he's doing. We talked about Luana Romo and all the moving parts in his defense. So trying to learn and play in that. Some people are trying to say the Drake London touchdown was on him. He wasn't. We'll maybe talk about that later in the week, but great play design he made. He made a great play when he dove and got that PBU which set up. But those are the plays for Sauce throughout his career that you got to make. You got to make those good plays into great plays. You got to have ball production. It's especially when a organization is giving up two first round picks. But on the other side, next week, All Pro Mooney should be coming back, so seeing those two corners on the outside with Kenny Moore, Cam Bynum, Nick Cross, like, we got. We got pieces back there.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, we're going to win. Shoot, Bully J. It's good news. And on the other half of that tweet, does feel like the jets are certainly creating something special over there. There. And Glenn, to Kirk Herbstream's point, though, played the Browns and the Bengals. Yep. Okay. Played the Browns and the Bengals, which gotta win games. That's on. Not your fault. But on that note, I love that they're honoring your friend. Legit.
Con Man
Oh, yeah.
AJ Hawk
Oh, yeah. He definitely. I mean, this was awesome.
Darius J. Butler
They.
AJ Hawk
They made some really sweet shirts and hats, too, for him. Yeah, his family was there. I mean, I'm sure it was awesome in the. In the stadium for this, but, yeah, they believe me. Nick is. You should have seen the police presence at his funeral. All the biker cops. There's like 40 biker cops leading us everywhere. They. They came out in the jet. Security, everyone there, they love that dude. So was. It was awesome.
Pat McAfee
It feels like. And that's Ohio State legend there, right? What's his name? Rucker. Rucker. Great mustache on him.
AJ Hawk
Rucker, tight end.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, Rucker, the tight end with a great mustache. Fourth year out of Ohio State. Wears the Mangold jersey on the way in, but it does feel like he's a part of it, you know, and that's cool. And I think that's good. Baby face for the jets from outside in, like, I like Nick Mangold. So the fact that you're honoring Nick Mangold and continuing to do that, like, we like that. And then Aaron Glennon and having success. Good for you guys over there at the Jets. Oh, yeah. You deserve it, man. You deserve. Let's go to the next overreaction is from Casey Jones at kck.jones14. Hashtag. I don't overreact, but it's time for BA to leave the Pat McAfee. Whoa, jeez. And get back to calling plays for the Bucks. This offense run from top of the league with an MVP QB to complete SH in a matter of weeks. And that's no bs. We need BA Injuries or not. It's sh. All right, well, sba, if he wants to get back on the headset, I think towards the end of his career, he wasn't looking to do that. But I do think with Baker Mayfield, expectations are for their offense to be great right now.
Darius J. Butler
Absolutely. And this is the first year play caller for Baker, so the Continuity thing. And then at this point in the season, you know, defenses want to take away some of the things that you do great. On top of that you're missing a bunch of wide receivers and me Abuka is going to be your number one target week in and week out. So definitely defenses are going to key in on them. But coming into that game, Baker Mayfield was averaging 20 completions of 200 yards over a three game span after that MVP start to the season. So I understand what he's saying. Getting Bucky Irving back will be a big, big addition for this offense as well. I think that Bucks offense will be okay down the street.
Pat McAfee
We love Tampa. Let's go to the next overreaction. It's from Lonely 1993. It's going to be okay at Gordy2P hashtag. I don't want to overreact but while y' all can tell yap about Drake, May MVP Chief Kingdom or Colts winning a Super bowl, the real MVP contenders are in the Midwest. Duh. Bears not only have the coach of the year, but MVP Caleb Williams. This is our year. Caleb looked like he was running 40 miles an hour around that edge to win that game. I mean that was spectacular. This is the Caleb Williams shit from college that you wondered is he going to be able to do this in the NFL when everybody's fast. Yeah. In November to win a game in the fourth quarter he gets the edge in a huge way. What a win for the Bears. And it was chatted about already but the Bears do a lot of coming back too. So I think the resolve and the grit of that team are certainly settling in. And every time we see the locker room afterwards they're a real deal. Hey, the Bears are the real deal and Ben Johnson is too.
AJ Hawk
AJ yeah they are. And I mean I think if you are a Bears fan you got to be most excited. Yeah, they didn't. A Bears offense didn't do a whole lot and then what, six, seven minutes ago in the fourth quarter and they absolutely come alive. And Caleb, he had a huge what I think 90 some yard drive to lead him back. Like when it matters it seems like Caleb absolutely steps up good for the best.
Darius J. Butler
Yeah. Back to back games Caleb and his offense. I believe he all four game winning drives this season and yeah to your point he looks fast.
Pat McAfee
Fast as that edge was outrageous because you just assume it's terrible grass as well. You assume that the field is terrible. So the ability to get out there, make it throws and locker room. Can't stress this enough. The locker Room is awesome in Chicago. They like each other. It is very evident that they like each other. Maybe they go on a run in this NFC north and do their thing. Let's go to the next overreaction, shall we? From BM@BULL data hashtag. I don't want to overreact, but the Ravens are going to the super bowl for real this time. And after yesterday, I can't wait to watch old man Rogers and the Steelers hopes and dreams burn to ash while we slow roast them over the fire we made with Mr. Steve's ping pong tables. Love this. Now listen, but in the entire Baltimore Ravens stavi have to be beginning of the season, it was tough for Ravens fans. Oh my God. Their defense was the worst in the league. People were pounding them. The offense couldn't do anything. We're supposed to be good. We're one in five. What the fuck? Sportsbooks were like, just wait, just wait, just wait. And now we're at the point this Ravens team's going to win the AFC north and the Ravens are probably going to go on a on a run and the playoffs. D butt did we expect this from the amount of talent on the team? What are your thoughts?
Darius J. Butler
We expect the Ravens to be an absolute wagon coming into the season. But honestly, at this point in the season, I would not put them in a Super bowl contender. Whoa. I'll put them right in the bucket with the Buffalo Bills. Unbelievable quarterbacks, MVP talents, but just what the team has done around them up until this point, I don't see them really being real down the stretch. And that can change with you have that type of talent and you have what I think good coaches on both sidelines. That can definitely change. But if I had to pick right now, if I had to only pick, let's say five teams that could realistically win the super bowl this season, the Baltimore Ravens wouldn't be in that top five.
Con Man
You can make the argument that the biggest loss for any team this year has been Matabuque for Baltimore. Without him in the middle, their defense just isn't the same like let alone run stop, you know, and you know, pass rush and stuff. He's like one of their leaders on that defense with Roquan Smith and Kyle Hamilton. So without him is one thing, but you know they're going to be just fine.
Pat McAfee
This is the odds on favorite to win the AFC north have been for a while. That's only growing and yeah, we shall see if they're able to work it out. Let's go to the next overreaction is from atl josh@j crackin24 hashtag I don't want to overreact but the Falcons are dead. Panics is trash, Raheem is clueless and clearly Arthur Blank's kids need to take over for the them to ever be successful. A mildly competent coach and Matt Ryan out of retirement would have this team in the playoffs. A.J. your thoughts?
AJ Hawk
I don't know if I fully agree with this overreaction. I mean the Falcons are one of those teams too. Like the they ride the roller coaster. I feel like they absolutely could have won. But you know, I guess teams until you get over that hump and you to prove that you are like in the next tier. Those you, those are the games you win. I think the Falcons obviously let this one slip away.
Pat McAfee
9. Yeah, they were going to win that game. Okay. They were never, never going to win that game out there. The Colts were going to win that one the entire time. But I will say this. Falcons are playing good. Like Falcons were playing very good. That I mean that defense was everywhere.
AJ Hawk
Their defense is relentless. Yeah, their defense, they how many, I don't know how many sacks they got a ton of sacks and tons of pressure like they can Obviously stopping the run is another issue.
Pat McAfee
Guys bleeding from his mouth. Guys bleeding from his mouth at quarterback. And now obviously Jonathan Taylor runs for 250. So that kind of gets goes against everything about saying they have a good defense.
AJ Hawk
This is so great.
Pat McAfee
But Daniel Jones moth is bleeding because he was getting hit. I mean the Atlanta Falcons played good football. I thought in the morning which is why I was so excited about the win. I'm like, we caught the Atlanta Falcons on a day where they were playing very well. Like they were playing very offensively. I thought obviously you have some changes you have to make. Pennix made a couple good throws, missed a couple that weren't good. Some bad decisions took place. But I thought the Falcons were playing good. So whenever we get the win, I'm like excited about it. And then all anybody said was it was the Falcons. It was the Falcons. It's like it's a NFL team.
Darius J. Butler
It's a good team.
Pat McAfee
Yeah, it's an NFL team and they.
AJ Hawk
Are a good team. I think the Colts are going to the Colts. That's a game that maybe in the past they lose. Don't you think a game like that when you're not, you don't know how to win, you're not used to winning. Those are the games you let slip away. And you think about after the season, all what could have been. No, the colts figured it out and they got to win. And you get to have a nice fun long plane ride home, obviously.
Pat McAfee
Oh, and I'd have be so much better than every.
AJ Hawk
Can you imagine every coach and player just so happy they won like.
Pat McAfee
Oh yeah. We flew back to London after a loss. I was on about 170kg cuz I had all this stuff. But yeah, it was an interesting vibe on the way back. I didn't know we're going through the actual airport. We're going through Heathrow.
Adam Schefter
What?
Pat McAfee
Can't go through Heathrow. They got actual scanners there, right? Yeah. Oh no. I've seen Locked Up Abroad. Got to make these disappear.
AJ Hawk
All right, I'm just got to eat them all.
Pat McAfee
I'm going to throw them away. Well, there's a cop literally sitting right next to the trash can up there in the front of the bus. All right, Vinnie, you want to help me here? What do you need to do? I need to make all these disappear. By when? How far is the airport? We're five minutes out up. We got five minutes to make this disappear. Jeez, I don't know, bud. All right, it gone as soon as we get there off the bus, right in the check in long line to get our bags through there. And just every moment that passes, I'm just starting to take off to a different altitude. And vinitary is like, I got you, buddy. I'll get you in a plane. Thank you.
Con Man
I'm boarding pass.
Pat McAfee
Yeah. So then we go through the thing my bag on obviously get selected. Okay. They check my bag. So I have to go wait around a thing. Vinnie's like, I'll wait with you. Thank you, sir. Gone. Eyes have no idea what my eyes look like. Everybody sees it in my eyes every day. I think so, you know, could be anything. Was so loaded with excuses. I'm tired, super tired. We just play a full football game.
Con Man
Yeah, whole thing.
Pat McAfee
I was going through it all. Especially in that moment. You're going through everything. And my immediate thought is, oh no, I left some in the bag somewhere. There's some. Some in that bag somewhere. I ate a lot though. I don't know. But maybe there's some in that bag. They go through. It turns out it was just like toothpaste or something like, you can't have this. I'm like, yeah, I know you want me to eat it. So then kind of go back, go all the way to our gate. I don't have a boarding pass. Somewhere in the process I lost my boarding pass, so I have no idea where that is. They have to print out another one at the thing. So I'm standing at the thing.
Darius J. Butler
Boarding pass.
Pat McAfee
Everybody of the Indianapolis Colts is boarding the plane.
AJ Hawk
Just standing after a loss, too. That's a much different situation after a loss than it was.
Darius J. Butler
You see Pat over there, too.
Pat McAfee
Oh, what happened? I'm not getting arrested. Yeah.
AJ Hawk
If you win, it's a funny. If it's. If you win, it's funny and they're fist bumping you stuff. You lose, you just head down. Everyone just like, oh, yeah.
Pat McAfee
And I think there's starting to be some buzz about what was possibly taking place. You know, shout out to Venator. He never left me. Venitary sat over there. He was making fun of me while I. Everybody else is making fun of you. This guy lost his boarding pass. I'm like, vinny, shut the fuck up. Yeah, I could be trying to get some gum over here or something like that. He goes out, everybody kind of sees it, you know, so it was a whole scene for us. And then on the plane, obviously, we just lost. So it's just like you leave second because you lost in the international game. And also it's a long ass flight back and it's like the next week's because everything's scheduled. It's just winning that game has to be so much better. I've never experienced it, but it has to be so much better.
Darius J. Butler
Rookie year, we went over to London and played the Bucks and we won. And yeah, it was. It's a fun ride.
Pat McAfee
That would have been a great place.
Darius J. Butler
Oh, yeah, for sure. Oh, but on that note, without traveling and shout out to TSA and all the people that's been showing up because it's been a show in these airports. People have to be showing up, not getting paid and you know, with the government shutdown and all that. So shout out to them doing, you know, doing their best.
Pat McAfee
Absolutely. And I believe. Right. We had some real progress in that entire world over the last 24 hours.
Con Man
Hours.
Pat McAfee
That's good news. Hopefully that's within the next couple of days. Yeah. It's crazy to think about what that's.
Darius J. Butler
Wow.
Pat McAfee
Is all dependent upon stuff, especially this.
Darius J. Butler
Time of year, like Thanksgiving right around the corner, like.
Pat McAfee
And also how dangerous it all is legit, you know.
AJ Hawk
Yeah.
Darius J. Butler
When the pilot comes on and say, hey, we gotta wait, because air traffic control, you know, they're cutting down 20 of.
Con Man
All right.
Darius J. Butler
Okay.
Pat McAfee
So we just eyeballing this thing. So are we able to land? Yeah, you are. Okay. All right. Sounds good. Yeah. Shout out to everybody. Giving her time for the good of society.
Darius J. Butler
Wow. Time.
Pat McAfee
I believe there is going to be a payback on the back end if what I read is accurate. So, you know, do the right thing. Hopefully you get get rewarded in the end. But even if you don't, doing the right thing is the right thing to do. Hell yeah. Last overreaction. This is From Bolts fan roka92. Hashtag. I don't want to react, but Justin Herbert is the mvp. No other quarterback could survive behind a line B built from other team scrap piles like the Chargers and keep getting the W. So we saw the PFF ranks, brother. We know. We know what you're saying. And Herbert is an incredible, incredible quarterback to lead a team that has this particular problem. He's very tough and he doesn't say anything negative about anything. Super positive. Always. On to the next one. Incredibly tough, incredibly athletic, incredibly talented. Chargers get a huge win on Sunday Night Football and I'm a believer in hardball football and I'm a believer in this Chargers team. Can they win a Super Bowl? 38 out of 38 at tackle, is your absolutely not?
Boston Connor
I don't think so.
Darius J. Butler
Is he out for the year?
Boston Connor
I think so.
Darius J. Butler
And Slater?
Con Man
Slater's out for the year for sure. Yeah. I don't know if Zion Johnson is.
Darius J. Butler
Going to be tough. We always look at AQ's trenches and those teams, those are ones that usually.
Boston Connor
Go and he got sacked five times last night.
Pat McAfee
Well, Deulus is out there getting. Getting shit talked before the game even starts by graphics. What do you think he's going to do? Hey, boys. Way to get a win over there. They said it was impossible with how bad you guys were. Yeah, that's a PFF said, not us. We're believers. Pick the Chargers. I believe. All right, we're going to get out of here tomorrow. We'll be live from Parris island historic day. Tomorrow, big time show. We're going to be enjoying the opportunity to honor and thank our country's veterans who have signed a line to say we'll go do it if it has has to happen. We'll be the ones badass individuals. We can't thank them enough. We'll try to tomorrow. Be a friend. Tell a friend something nice. It might change your life. We're in this thing together. Team on me. Team on three. Good luck tonight, boys. Packers Eagles take it home. One, two, three. Goodbye.
