This is the Players. Hi, everyone, and welcome back to another episode of the Players Box. I'm Desiree Kravchick alongside Jenny Brady, Madison Keys, and Jess Pegula. Please remember to give our podcast five stars and to subscribe to our YouTube. As always, we very much appreciate it. So every week we start with an unforced error of the week, where we share our tiny mishaps or failures that happened in our personal lives. But if we're having a great week, we are going to incorporate a winner of the week. So with that being said, Jenny.
A
I had a unforced error this week. I was in Los Angeles this past weekend with dez and we were at our friend's bachelorette, but I was at her house, and I, for some reason, decided to put on my compression socks. And at a bachelorette party?
B
No, no, no.
A
We were. We were going to the bridal shower.
D
So I don't know if that's much.
A
Better, but the theme was, like, health and wellness. And I was wearing. It was sweatsuit, so it was like, matching sweatsuit. And then I. They were just the first socks that I saw in my bag, so I just grabbed them, put them on, whatever.
C
And.
A
DEZ has three stories, and then she has, like, two little stairs in her from her kitchen, dining area to, like, the living area, living room. And the compression socks are really slippery. And so on the two steps I go and I take a step down and literally I hit my foot, hits the second step, and then I just slide with my foot. And then I land, like, on my butt on the step above and then slide down the second step on my butt and literally just, like, fall. And then I was like a little child. And, like, I looked back at Tess, like, how is mom gonna react? Like, is she gonna be worried or, like. And she just looks at me and Then I look at her and then she's like. And I'm like.
C
I was.
A
I'm good.
C
I'm good.
A
She was like, what are you doing? Like, you know, it was like one of those moments where, like, if. If she looked at me and was like, oh, my God, are you okay? Like, maybe I would have started crying. Instead, she, like, reprimanded me.
B
Wait, did you never get the runner on your stair desk? Didn't you?
C
Weren't you putting.
A
Oh, no, I have. This is a different stair. Literally. Right. Right after that, she went to her supply of runners and literally put one down. I was like, that is a lawsuit waiting to happen.
D
I was like, please don't sue me.
A
Yeah.
D
For your clumsiness.
A
Yeah. For my clumsiness. Yeah. Jess.
B
Oh, can we go to Maddie while I still think of which one I'm gonna choose?
A
Yeah, Maddie, go ahead.
C
I had a winner of the week. I was supposed to go yesterday. I was supposed to have jury duty, and I had to, like, schedule my whole day around it. And it's off season. I'm not doing a whole lot, so. But I was like, okay, I have to go. I have to be there. Eight o', clock, whatever. And I was sitting on the couch the night before, and I got an email, and they said, we don't need you. You're dismissed. We will not contact you for 12 more months at least. I was like, wow, I did it. Yay. And I got a whole day back.
B
Yeah.
A
Great.
B
That's a winner.
C
There we go, Jess. Or do we need to go to dez?
B
Go to Des.
A
She's still not thinking. Come on, Jess.
B
I'm trying to listen and think at the same time.
D
I have a winner this week, and my winner is. I'm officially done with my injections, so yay me.
A
Injections for what? If you want to.
C
Yay. Snapshot.
D
Yes. I. Well, I finished my egg freezing, but finally done with the shots because I still have a little bit of bruising, but that was my win this week.
A
She's done. She got her eggs retrieved.
D
Jess, are you. Are you ready or do we need to come back to you?
B
I totally forgot about this because I was thinking so hard about the segment that I'm doing later, which. About the. The tips on the guessing a former player. Whatever. We'll get into that, but I don't really have. I don't really have much going on. I've just been home, so I feel like that's a win. Jenny's not happy with me right now.
A
I'm not thrilled.
B
Jenny's so disappointed in me.
A
Jess, you have. You have an unforced error.
B
Which one is it? Because sometimes you're A haircut.
D
Yeah.
B
Oh, thank you. Okay. I went to a new hair place, and it took. I don't think he started cutting my hair. He was 50 minutes late. 52 minutes late. And my appointment was at 1. And we started literally at, like, 1:52. And I was, like, texting. I think I texted you and Bri and my sister and was. Or Jenny. Bri and my sister. And I was just like, luckily, I have literally nothing to do and I have nowhere to be and, like, not. So I just sat there for, like, almost an hour. So that was my unforced error. But it, like, he did do a good job, and I got a good haircut, so that was great. It was not free. Like, I was hoping it would be Jenny. And Jenny, of course, tells me, like, I would have walked out of there, and then she's like, who am I kidding? I would have just sat there and done the exact same thing and pretended like it was perfect.
C
Yeah.
A
Like, they would have been like, we're so sorry. And I'd be like, no worries.
D
It's all good.
B
Yeah, I did the same thing. I just sat there. I still tipped him. I paid full.
A
Yeah.
B
Made zero effort to, like, dispute the fact that I sat there for an hour. So, yeah, I guess that's my Ufe. Thanks for reminding me, Jenny.
A
Go. Yeah. Well, the hair looks great, so thank you.
B
Good. It's still very long.
A
Yeah.
D
So who. I think. I think we have a clear winner.
A
Winner of the winners.
B
A winner of the. Of the unforce. James. Who? You?
C
You? Jenny. Jenny wins. Unforced air.
A
Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
C
Oh, no. Des definitely wins winners.
A
That's true. Does wins. Wins Winner.
C
Yeah.
D
I'll take that as a win.
A
I. I watched her do her injections. She was.
B
We were.
A
When we were driving from Temecula back to la, we had to stop and charge the Tesla, and Des is like, I have to do my injections. And literally we're at the charging station, and I'm just sitting in the car, and then DEZ is standing outside the car, like, injecting, like, just. Just there at the Tesla charging station. Like, you know, here I am trying to get my eggs retrieved.
C
Just shooting up.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah.
D
So, yeah.
B
But anyways, gotta do what you gotta do.
A
Yeah.

D
Well, we've got a few headlines this week. I think the first one we're going to start off with is I think people think we are trying to get rid of Dafu and we have to say the. We need to get rid of the conspiracy theory. It's Jess's WI fi who was a little rough last week.
C
So.
D
So we were not getting rid of her in other weeks.
B
And every time it's just really hard.
D
To keep track of Jess and her WI fi. So we needed to clear that up.
C
But, yeah, we let, we let Jess speak. It's just sometimes her WI fi is so bad, she starts talking much past the topic and we're like, no, no, no, we're moving on.
B
I'm a little delayed or I'm just not there, which is also an issue. But, yeah, I, it's. I can confirm that I am not. Yeah, it's. It's all my fault.
D
Yes.
A
Yeah, it's your fault.
B
Thanks, Jenny. Thanks.
D
It's the boat. It's the raft.
B
It's the raft in the middle of water.
C
Well, yeah. So moving on from, I guess, your vacation, we can talk about everyone else's vacation. The four of us did not go to the Maldives. We have never been to the Maldives. It seems as though every other tennis player seems to vacation there. I don't know why. We spend all of our time together all year long and then it seems like all of us then go to the same place and hang out together. I don't know if there's like multiple resorts that everyone goes to, but it's quite literally everyone. I think this season it was Mertens, Sabalenka. Did Janik go? Potipova, Ostapenko. I mean, Benchic. Did Vekic go?
A
I think every.
B
She usually goes. Donna does.
D
So many people.
C
Every year everyone goes except for us. Yeah. Hold out and we're not going.
B
But do we like.
D
Is it like, do they go because it's like a free vacation? Like they just post about it or is it just like this is the place to be? Because this is the most. This is the closest place to be. But it seems like everyone. I mean, they're getting it.
A
I'm sure that they get like some sort of.
D
I don't mind it, but yeah.
A
Like so some sort of either rate or like couple rooms for free or something. Like somebody.
D
Yeah.
A
Just is typing really loud.
C
What? I'm.
B
Why do I try to do it so quiet? And everyone here. You're not. But then you're not.
C
Literally.
B
I am literally like, like, like I'm barely touching it. But you're typing all the time in the chat and I never hear it.
A
Yeah. Because I'm so quiet.
B
But there's no way.
A
Yes, there is no way.
D
You were quiet when you were typing on my computer.
A
I am typing right now. Can you hear me?
D
Anyways, we love a little sidetracked.
A
I think a lot of the. A lot of it seems like a lot of Europeans go to their.
B
Is it because it's winter and that's like their place to go. It's still really far.
D
It must be that close. I mean.
A
Oh, yeah.
D
It's like summer or maybe they're doing like a clinic or something like a day of tennis. And then they get everything paid for expenses.
B
Do the resort seems that way. Have an in on all the players that they just like reach out and like, hey. Yeah. I don't know what happens. Maybe one of the players, if you're listening, can let us know.
A
Yeah.
B
Why and how everyone goes to the Maldives. Definitely none of the Americans go. Although the guys on nothing major did out Taylor Fritz.
A
Yeah.
B
That he apparently is gone. That's the only person that American player that I know really that has gone. But because it's so far.
D
Yeah.
B
It's like two days to get there.
D
Take a trek.
C
Yeah.
A
I don't even know where it is. So.
B
But I mean it looks great.
D
It looks amazing.
B
It looks amazing.
D
Everyone's photos are like, oh my gosh.
C
If it's a paid vacation and everyone's like getting a deal, like maybe just send that information on along it.
D
We would like.
A
Yeah. You get.
C
Yeah.
A
Anyone who has gone. Maybe I'm interested in going.
D
Maybe we will go expenses covered.
A
Maybe we all four can go.
B
We film in the Maldives.
A
Yeah.
B
Players box podcast goes.
A
Yeah.
D
We could have.
C
We could have so many guests. We'll be like. And this person is also here.
D
Look who's walking on the beach right now?
B
I wonder if they actually see each other. I want to know if any of them have seen each other there. They for sure at the same resort.
C
Do.
A
I mean, I. Like I said, I don't know where it is. I don't know how big it is, But I can't imagine it being very large.
D
No.
C
Next year, when we all go, we'll suss it out.
D
We'll let everyone know.
A
Yeah.
B
When we say we're not going to go, but then we sell our souls for the free vacation.
C
Yes.
B
That would actually be awesome.
A
Gotta do what you gotta do.
B
Well, going back to you, Des, you already talked about finishing your egg freezing. Do you want to elaborate on how the process was, how you're feeling? I know you got a procedure a few days ago. If you want to talk about just kind of an update on how it ended and how you're feeling.
A
Yeah.
D
Like I said, done with my shots. I'm so excited. I think it was. I think because I was so close to the end, I was like, oh, these. I got five shots to do. I had to do five shots, I think, the night before my procedure. And I was not expecting that. So that was a little bit of a shock. But obviously, I did it because I was like, okay, I'm going to be done. So the procedure was about 15 to 20 minutes. I went in a couple days ago. I was out an hour later. So they put you under twilight anesthesia, and it was successful. So I didn't really have a number of what I wanted to go in and say, hey, I really want to get 10 eggs. I want to get. You know, there wasn't a certain number. I was just hoping to get as many as I can, and they did. And, yeah, honestly, I think I'm just happy that I talked about it, because there's been a few people and friends that have been saying, like, oh, like, I wish I wasn't so ashamed of talking about this, because when I did it, it was so taboo. Or it was something that I wasn't proud of talking about. But then again, like, the more you talk about it, I think more women in general will be more comfortable about it. And I've actually had a friend, she was like, can I actually watch you do your injections? And I was like, sure. Like, if this makes you feel more comfortable, like, absolutely. And she was like, okay. Like, I think I might do it. So I think just being that having that awareness has been really helpful for everyone. And honestly, it's like, I said, if you have the funds and it's an insurance policy, I mean, why not? If you can do it, you don't want to regret it later. So.
B
So you felt like, I'm happy. Totally worth it.
D
Yeah, I definitely think it was worth it. It was. I mean, 10 days of injections, but you get into routine once you. I felt like I was, like a chemist. Like, I was, like, doing my injections, like, taking out the one and then transferring it. And, like, Jenny was, like, watching me, like, in the corner before I was doing my injections. She was, like, trying to be still so, like, I wouldn't get distracted.
A
Yeah. I was really like, yeah. Like, I would be like, oh, Tess is doing her injection.
B
Yeah.
D
Like, I was out. We were. Because I was bringing my injections with me, obviously, to this bachelorette party, and I had to take it during a specific time. And Jenny's like, des, where are you?
B
Let's go.
C
Come on.
D
And I'm like, I'm, like, doing my injections. And then I come back down. She's like, I'm so sorry. I had no idea you were doing your injections. And I was like, it's totally fine. Like, it's totally fine.
A
But, yeah, I thought it was Jenny.
D
That going, let's go. Yeah.
A
The hibachi man was there, and we were starting dinner, and I was like.
B
Damn, this Des, dinner.
A
Where are you? And then I was asking. I was like, where the hell is Jess? What is she doing? And then one of the girls was like, I think she's doing her injections. And I was like, oh, no, I'm so sorry. But, yeah, And I was like, oh.
D
Yeah, no, it's been fine. I mean, my symptoms were actually, I think after the first five days, my symptoms, I felt, like, really lightheaded and just, like, just a headache. And I think that was lack of hydrating. I didn't realize you had to hydrate way more than you normally do. And I was really emotional. Like, the three to four days when I had to up my dosage, and then after that, I was okay. I actually was better than I thought. So after two days of. After the procedure, right now it's just kind of feeling like you're crampy, but, yeah, happy I did it. I mean, I don't have any regrets. I'm. I hope other women and other girls, you know, do this or find some sort of courage to do it. But, yeah, that was. That was my successful egg freezing journey.
A
Cool.
D
So it's good? Yeah.
A
Yeah. Did you guys see Chris Eubanks and Lauren Davis both retired this week. I know. Actually, I think I was reading something where Chris said that he had his wrist injury, I think, last year in 2024 and the year before that, he had probably his best year on tour. I think he was top 30 singles. He reached quarters of Wimbledon, won his first title on grass before that, and I think quarters or semis of Miami Open, he reached. But I saw he said he just, like, didn't want to, like, didn't have, like, anything to really play for anymore. And I think that's when he started doing more Tennis Channel and commentating and TV stuff. And he. I remember watching him and I was like, wow, he's so good. He has, like, he definitely has a future in this. So, yeah, I think he's definitely headed down that route, you know, doing TV and all that stuff. But also Lauren, you know, retiring. I actually had. Yeah, had lunch with her and Shelby, actually, before the US Open, I think, and she was just kind of, you know, chatting with Shelby about, like, what, you know, how it's been for her and just kind of like, you know, what it's like being retired and kind of, you know, the next steps in this chapter, you know, after tennis. And, I mean, it's not easy, I think. You know, we. We play tennis our whole lives, and then all of a sudden it's like, okay, you know, you stop and you're still. She's 32 and Chris is 29, so they're both very young.
B
I didn't realize Chris was that young.
A
Yeah, yeah, he's 29. So he. Yeah, he stopped, I guess, early. I don't know. But if, you know, it's. It's his life, I guess if he doesn't want to do it anymore, he has joy doing other stuff, like, you know, the TV stuff, commentating, which he's really good at.
B
So he's very good at that. Yeah, I feel like I respect, like, players even more when there's someone, especially maybe like, even more like Chris, where. I know. I think sometimes fans get this perception that, like, okay, if you're not winning all these Grand Slams and all these tournaments, that, like, your career was a failure. I feel like there's a little bit of that narrative. But then you look at, like, when he posted, like, all the stuff that he did, and I'm like, oh, my gosh, he had an incredible career. Like, and he did not think, like, that was even, like, possible. Like, he was like, oh, I'm just going to come out of college. And try to play. And now he set himself up to maybe go into tv, which he's really good at. And I just think it's. I think it's almost cooler when you see someone like, okay, I accomplished everything I came out to accomplish. Like you said, there's nothing left for me to do. Like, I did what I wanted to do. And that's like, okay, you don't have to win a Slam or become top 10 or do all these things. Like, sometimes people don't want that. They just. They have goals, and then they hit them, and then they're, like, ready to move on. And I don't know. I feel like sometimes in our tennis culture, it gets. So you get caught up in.
D
And he also finished on his own terms.
B
Yeah, I think that's great.
A
Yeah. You care too much about, like, what other people think, or, oh, this person says I should be doing this. So, like, I'm not gonna stop until I do that. Or, you know, I think Lauren said, like, she has no regrets. And I think that's probably the most important. That's the most important thing. Like, you know, as long as you retire or you stop or you move on and, you know, you're like, okay, I have. Looking back, that's always something that I said. I've always wanted to, like, look back and say, okay, I have no regrets.
B
Yeah.
A
So I think that's probably the most important.
C
I think the. I think players and fans, I think we all kind of have a skewed perception of, like, what a good career is now because we have Novak, Rafa, Roger, Serena, like, they're winning 20 Grand Slams. That's insane. So now it's. I feel like the bar in people's minds is so skewed because it's like people winning one Grand Slam is, like, something that you dream of when you're a little kid. That's beyond. But, like, the fact that there's people who's winning, like, 20. So now it's like, wow, you never made a final. And it's like, okay, well, you also did all of these other things that are absolutely amazing. Yeah.
D
Did you see the quote that Andy Murray said? He was on a podcast, and he had mentioned that he wished that he enjoyed his career so more. Like, he wished he enjoyed it more. But he was chasing things, and it was. He felt like he was too invested in, like, trying to chase this, trying to chase that, and not enjoying his, I guess, the moments on tour. And I feel like sometimes you kind of look back and you. That's I think one regret, he had said, but I think that's something that Lauren and Chris, they have no regrets. They've done what they wanted to do, and they reached that point and they're like, okay, we're gonna move on. I've done everything I wanted.
B
Yeah, exactly. I did see that clip.
D
Yeah.
B
Yeah. Congrats to them. We're gonna miss them. They're both very nice people.
D
Yes.
B
Always in a good mood. I feel like always smiling, always happy, both of them. And it's just like. I don't know, it's sad seeing. I mean, I'm happy for both of them, but it's always sad when they post and, like, I don't know, it's so weird. Like, you see them posting when they were kids and, like, stories starting off like, yeah, they had this dream, which, like, we all did. And then being able to do that and, like, reach that. It's so cool to see them, like, happily moving on. So, yeah, congrats to you guys. Yeah.
D
Hope we don't. First off, we get to see them on Lauren. Hopefully we get to see them on tour still. We'll definitely see Chris.
B
Yeah. Lauren kind of said that she might be working like that Cleveland tournament and being around and stuff like that. So hopefully we see her.
D
Awesome.
B
Totally flipping topics. We have to give a little shout out. Yelena Ostapenko. I don't even know how to, like, transition into this or talk about it other than this one talking about, like, I don't know what it is utilizing the most of your career. She is selling things on Instagram. I just. We had. We have to give her a plug. So anyways, we. We call. We had it in here as Yelena's marketplace, which is really funny. She's selling stuff. Her Instagram handle is J O dot close 1997. And I came across this because tennis Twitter people start posting of stuff that they've bought from Elena Ostapenko. And I was like, what? What are you talking about? You bought things from Osdapenko? And it's like, random kind of stuff. So she sold a Dyson vacuum cleaner. She sold some perfumes. I think I saw she also sold, like, clothes, bathing suits. Like. Like, it doesn't matter. That's everything. Everything you could ever wish for. So I just. I don't really know. I'm, like, flabbergasted by the fact that she does this. But we also, I think, respect it because girl's just trying to, like, get.
D
Her bag and make her money cash here. And there, you know, why not?
B
It's kind of awesome.
C
I mean, it's probably better than Facebook Marketplace, which, like, I have used.
B
Well, it's like, what's the difference? There really isn't a difference exactly.
C
Like, also, she doesn't have any scammers. Like, Facebook Marketplace. I get the people that are like, is this still available? And then I get ghosted or whatever.
D
Like, but is it private?
A
Yes, it's private. I've been debating following.
D
So, like, what if she makes it public? People are going to be like, oh, my God, I actually want this. Like, maybe she'll get more.
A
Maybe she just wants to select her. What's the word?
C
Her customers.
B
Buyers.
A
Yeah, yeah, her buyers.
B
She likes to be in control of her marketplace. It's a. It's a.
A
Like, maybe it's hard to get into very niche market.
C
You also don't want a bunch of bots and everything. Yeah. You want real people who are going to be spending their cash.
A
Yeah, yeah.
D
So anyway, you go, Yelena.
B
Yeah. Anyone buys your stuff, honestly, kudos to you. We kind of absolutely love it. And you just keep selling your stuff.
D
I mean, see what's on there next.
B
From the Dyson vacuum cleaner is like, a legit Dyson.
A
Maybe that's what paid for the Maldives vacation.
B
I want to ask her about it next time, next year. I'm gonna ask her, like, why. She's like, I'll. I'll get some intel and come back to the pods and some, like, why she started it. Like, who actually runs it? Is it actually her? Like, I want to know. I want to know the details.
A
It wasn't her.
B
Maybe she would sell. Sell stuff for us. If I was like, hey, like, can you.
D
And she would, like, give you a commission.
B
She'd take a commission off of it.
C
She should do that. She should literally, like, like, Elena's Marketplace. And all of us can bring stuff and be like, can you sell this for me?
B
Because it's kind of a pain for, like, for me to do that. Like, that's not something I would like to do, but I would totally give it to her and be like, can you sell this for me?
A
Yeah. And then get, like, give her a kickback. Yeah.
B
Yeah. All right, well, I'll talk to her and I'll get back to you guys on that.
A
Yeah, I'll slide into her DMs right now.
C
Moving on, we are going to add in a little game. We got a suggestion from a fan poll, and we are going to do who is most likely to. We have some encore and off court things. So we are going to attempt to rapid fire these things. We tend to linger, so we're gonna try to keep it tight and move on.
D
Jenny.
C
Jenny's gonna have a little stopwatch.
A
Jessica.
B
I won't linger, but sometimes no stories.
A
Stories that come up. No, Jessica, that's not the game we're playing.
D
But sometimes the stories, like, help in there. But I. I mean, I get it. No linger.
C
No.
B
Yeah, see, we're already lingering.
C
We're already lingering. Go.
A
See.
C
Okay.
A
This is why Maddie didn't want to do it.
C
Encore.
D
We're doing it story.
A
Okay, go ahead.
C
Who's the most likely to save match points? Me. Because I did it like 15 times.
B
This year and really stressed myself out.
A
Oh, I thought we weren't giving a story.
B
See?
A
Ooh, burn.
C
I feel like I said that pretty fast and it was pretty rapid for you, and then you interrupted me, and now we're lingering even. Moving on. Who's the most improved over the last 12 months?
B
Jenny.
C
Jenny.
A
Jenny. Yes.
B
Yeah.
C
Moving on. No feedback. Who's the most mentally tough?
A
Jessica.
D
Jessica.
B
Oh, thank you. Thank you.
C
Who's the most superstitious with routines?
A
Maybe Des.
B
I was gonna say Jenny or Des.
A
Yeah, I think.
D
Yeah, I would tell a story, but I won't.
C
Who's the most likely to ask for a physio twice a day?
D
I will happily take that.
C
Who's the most likely to practice extra after a win?
D
Jessica.
A
Jazz.
B
Me. Probably. Agreed.
C
Who's the most likely to smash snacks between changeovers? Jenny.
D
Me or Jenny? Yes.
A
I don't really eat during matches.
B
Oh, I was gonna say Des.
D
Yeah, I would say honey Stingers.
C
Loves a stack. Yeah. Okay. Who's the most likely to stay in the gym longer than anyone?
B
Jenny.
D
Jenny.
B
I don't even know if she's working out, but she would linger in the gym for sure.
D
Okay, we are gonna do the off court personalities. So another rapid fire. All right, are you guys ready? Who's doing gardening back there?
B
Maddie's house is being built.
C
I have yard work. Yeah. My house is always being built. I'm taking. Doing the fact that I can't.
D
I'm like, what is happening?
A
Where is it? Grass.
D
Who's the most likely to be late to a dinner reservation?
A
Jess.
B
Me.
C
Jess.
B
I'm late.
A
Yeah.
D
Who's most likely to know every restaurant recommendation?
A
Jenny.
D
Jenny.
B
Yeah, I was going to say Jenny or Maddie or just not me.
D
Who's the most stylish on tour? Des.
B
Des.
A
Des.
B
Oh, I see. I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna elaborate.
D
It's you take it, Des. Take it in. Wrong. You can elaborate since it's me. Okay. Most chaotic packer.
B
Des, I've seen your room.
C
Yes.
A
Oh.
D
Who's the most obsessed with their dog, Des?
B
Probably dez.
C
Dez.
B
Dez, as the dog is in her lap.
A
Wait, quick story.
B
No, you're not allowed.
D
No, literally, she sent a video of.
A
Pluto puppy barking in his sleep. Go ahead. Okay, moving on.
D
I have lots of videos. Who's the most likely to accidentally say something controversial? Jenny.
A
Jenny.
C
Jenny. Jenny.
D
Who's the most likely to become a meme?
A
Jenny. I am one.
D
Who is the most likely to explore a city on foot?
B
Does.
C
Does.
B
100%.
D
Who's the most likely to nap anywhere, anytime?
C
Does.
D
Who's the most likely to start beef jokingly or not?
B
Oh, Jenny.
A
Jenny.
B
Oh. Everyone said that.
C
Jenny, Jenny. Starting beef would be like, I hate you. And then the next day she'd be like, how's the family? Oh, my God.
A
But it says jokingly or not. Okay, I would do jokingly.
B
And yeah, Jenny would do jokingly. Maddie would do. Not joking, not joking.
D
Who's the most likely to roast themselves before anyone else can?
A
Jenny.
C
Jenny.
B
Jenny.
A
Jenny.
D
Okay, now we can elaborate on the good stories if we have any of these rapid fires.
B
So since we did them so fast.
D
Yeah, we actually didn't linger.
B
I didn't linger at all. I don't know Now I don't remember.
D
I don't know. Something about my stylish on tour. So tell me more.
A
Well, does you do put on a makeup before every pod?
D
That's not. Yeah, but. Oh, I'm thinking, like, tennis match, but okay.
C
No style like, you also like, you pass moisturizer. Probably heavier than most of us. So you have lots of options.
A
You always wear cute outfits.
B
Always have a new, like, walking around the tournament, and I'd be like, did you just get a blowout? Do you have your hair done? And you're like, yeah. I mean, why not? I just got my hair done, and I'm like, you look incredible. Like, where are you going? You're, like, walking around the site. Everyone looks like crap and does just, like, walking around, like, oh, I got my lashes done and my hair done.
C
And then she'll show up, like, one day. One day at a tournament. Does comes around the corner, hair fully blown out. We were in Australia, and they also have, like, the salon fresh lash lift, like, jean jacket came around the corner, and I was like, I looked like a drowned rat coming off the court.
D
I'm going to your match.
C
How are we in, like, the same world in life right now? Like, we're going into the locker room and I look like I just came out of the river and you look like you just are like getting ready to go on like a dinner date or something.
D
Yeah. You know what I take? I will say I am really good at taking advantage of those free, free stuff at the tournaments and I am not ashamed of it. And ao, I will say, does a great job. Great blowouts. They do waxing. They do everything. Lash, lift, color. I will do everything on there and just sign my name up and yeah, no shame.
B
And that in the physio twice a day. Yes.
D
If I have time, I'll go to the physio twice and get her hair done.
B
That's really what she's doing.
C
And then. And then get a massage after.
D
Yes. But only once.
A
Practice.
B
And then still walk the entire city. And practice.
D
Practice is, you know, eight to nine, because doubles player is only eight to nine. Early a.m. a.m, you know, then you got the whole day. So I guess I'm so used to that that I'm like, huh? I got the whole day to explore the city or get a bad haircut. You know, at some tournaments. Get bad bangs.
B
Get bad things.
C
Oh, can we please show everyone your incredible bangs from Singapore?
A
Oh, was it? No.
D
Was it Singapore?
B
No, no, it was Dubai.
C
Dubai, Dubai.
D
Oh, yeah. We'll clip that in.
C
We'll show the. It's my favorite picture and it's your contact photo, so I see it 15,000 times a day.
D
Should we giggle?
A
Wait, should we talk about Maddie's contact photos for all of us?
C
Oh, my gosh.
D
Yeah. You want to show. Show everyone our contact photo.
B
Wait, what's mine? Cuz you guys always talk about yours. I have no idea.
D
I feel like Jess can't have a bad one.
A
Maybe she doesn't have a bad photo. Mine is.
C
I don't know if you can see it, but it's from your. Oh, my God. What?
A
Stop it.
C
Stop.
A
It's when she grows wings.
C
Oh, my God. I'm sad. Oh, my God. Jenny's inspiring.
D
Oh, God.
C
She thought she.
A
So I thought I was supposed to send this photo, but I wasn't, and so I did.
C
So.
A
Hanging down, literally, like to my neck. The swab is in my nostril and my eyes are literally tearing up because it hurts so bad. Oh, my God, those photos are so good. Just flying with her wings.
C
It makes me laugh.
B
Yeah, those are actually incredible.
A
You also wait you need to show the our profile picture for our group chat.
D
Oh, it's just.
C
What was it?
D
Oh, you looking in the shot.
A
Oh, yeah, during my acting. My acting moment.
C
I don't even have it because I just have all of your guys's pictures.
A

A
Okay. Yeah.
C
So if someone. If someone pops into your head, we'll just go with that.
B
Are we doing the on court or off court ones?
C
We're gonna start with Encore.
B
Okay, let's do it.
D
Okay.
C
Who's the most likely to save match points?
B
I still say Maddie because it's the only Maddie.
D
Yeah.
B
You've saved like a ton.
C
Too many. Who's the most improved over the last 12 months?
D
Oh, yeah.
B
Yeah. That's a good one.
C
Yeah. Who's the most mentally tough?
D
I was gonna say Sabalanca, but.
C
I was gonna say Coco.
B
Yeah, I like Coco. There's so many I would agree with Coco.
C
Who's the most superstitious with routines?
B
Iga.
C
Yeah.
B
Super routines.
C
Who's the most likely to ask for a physio twice a day?
A
Dez.
C
Dez.
D
Or people who just play mind games? You know? Gosh.
C
Who's the most likely?
D
I got a couple in mind.
C
Des. Des. Who's the most likely to practice extra after a win?
D
Siegman.
C
Coco. I was gonna say Coco.
B
I was trying to think who I could see.
A
I was gonna say iga. I've Definitely seen iga.
C
There's a lot likely to smash snacks between changeovers. Coco. All I can envision is Coco opening up her fruit thing.
B
Her fruit thing? Yeah.
C
Okay, and last one. Who's the most likely to stay in the gym longer than anyone? Maria. Zachary.
D
Oh, yeah, that's a good one.
B
It's a good one.
D
Yeah, but she's, like, genetically gifted, too.
C
Like.
A
Yeah, she's jacked.
D
Oh, my God.
C
Okay, actually, you know what?
B
Wait. Super random.
D
Lingering.
B
Akiri. She runs on the treadmill for hours and hours and hours. That would be my pick.
D
Yeah, yeah, she. She's always in the gym. She also practices, like, eight hours a day. But you know what? You go, girl. You do you. Okay, off court personalities. Who's most likely to be late to a dinner reservation?
A
Jess.
C
Jess, tell me.
D
I was gonna say foe. I was gonna say foe.
C
Oh, we're keeping. Okay, fine, but honorable mention.
A
Francis. Yeah.
C
100 to everything.
D
That's why we tell them to come 15 minutes before. Okay, lingering. Who's most likely to know every restaurant recommendation?
B
Okay, this is random, but Putin save at one time was like, if you need a coffee shop or restaurant, whatever. I have a list for every single city.
D
Coffee shop.
B
Coffee shop.
C
A lot of Asia. I feel like Asia.
B
Oh, yeah.
D
Our content queen, Sabrina. Who's the most stylish on tour? I was gonna say Sabs, too, just because.
B
Or Asians.
D
They love the fashionista stuff.
B
Yeah.
D
They're into the trends, like Onitsuka, tiger shoes.
B
Coco costume. Coco always looks good.
A
Oh, yeah.
B
Like stylish Marta.
C
Yeah.
D
Who's the most chaotic packer?
B
Still does.
D
Guys, you haven't even seen anyone else's suitcases or rooms.
C
It's you, Asia.
D
Who's the most obsessed with their dog?
B
Asia Kaliskaya.
C
Oh.
B
Travels all time.
D
That dog goes everywhere, especially in the kitchen.
B
Marta. Or Patapova.
D
Oh, yes.
B
They always have their dog, like, full.
C
Lots of dogs on tour all the time.
D
Yeah. Who's most likely to accidentally say something controversial?
C
Oh, Jenny.
D
Are we trying to be safe here?
A
Maybe me still.
B
Oh, I have a lot of people that I won't mention, but, yeah, we.
A
Could just say me.
C
So we'll just say.
A
We'll just say.
D
Okay, last two. Who's the most.
A
Or I could say it because.
C
Because.
B
Sorry.
A
Because I'm likely to say something controversial.
D
Who's the most likely to become a meme? Jenny.
B
Yeah, it's still. Jenny. Oh.
D
Is an incredible. Panko is a good meme.
C
She's got some good ones.
B
So many.
C
Yeah, she has Some good ones.
D
Okay, last one. Who's most likely to nap anywhere, anytime?
B
Still you, Des, But I think you still.
A
Caroline. Caroline Dollheide.
C
Yep. Really?
D
I've, like, never seen her nap, and I played with her. Wow.
A
Anytime she could take a nap right here during this pod, in this chair. In this swivel chair live.
B
I didn't know that.
A
Yeah.
C
Oh, my gosh.
D
Okay. Well, that was fun. I mean, we couldn't really say some of the names, you know, but we'll just keep it between us, I guess. Jess.
B
I feel like fans kind of know who they are anyways, because it's also.
C
Also if. I think if any fans have their own ideas, like, they should add them and tell us who they think.
A
Yes. Give us.
D
We'll like it or not.
C
Yeah. We'll agree with you. Or we'll tell you why you're wrong. Yeah.
D
And it better not be us.
A
And I'll give my controversial opinion.
B
Jenny really wants to live up to her controversy.
A
I want to live up to my hype. She's gonna live up to my height.
B
Let me be controversial.
A
Let me have my moment.
B
Okay, so we're gonna play another little game here. Yeah, it was like a.
A
It was a mini dance club.
B
Who am I? So I. Well, today I'm going to kind of pick a player, not tell you guys or the fans and listeners, and just give a couple tips. I think I got, like, three good ones, I think, and you guys can try and guess who it is. So I'm gonna go first, and then we'll switch, obviously, throughout the weeks and stuff like that. So let me just pull up my little tips here. I did have a little help from ChatGPT, so, like, make it more cryptic. And then there were some that I came up with. I am trying to make it not too easy because, one, I just kept thinking about how Maddie knows and remembers everything about everyone, and I felt like she was gonna pick every person that, like, I thought of. And so we'll just see how this goes. Maybe don't blurt it out if you know. So we give listeners a try or raised hand.
C
Oh.
D
Oh.
B
Maybe next episode we can. People can give me their answers.
D
Okay.
C
Think about it. Yeah.
B
So the first one's in the chat. GPT1. Her name suggests a sudden flash. She has played Call of Duty before. I vote for this girl every year for the sportsmanship of the year sportsmanship award.
D
I know it.
B
But she doesn't win it.
D
I know it. It's your favorite player. I know it.
A
Stop giving me Des, you're not supposed to say her name.
D
Say her name. Can I text it to you?
B
Sure. She has played Call of Duty before, and I vote for her for sportsmanship of the year, but she does not win it. So everybody listening?
A
Oh, I know who it is.
B
Figure it out.
D
Comment your answers below and we will.
A
Comment here below. Like, yeah, comment your answers on YouTube or on.
D
And don't cheat, please.
A
Instagram. Yeah, no cheating.
D
Yeah.
B
I only cheated with the first one. I needed help. Kind of like.
A
That was really good.
C
It was a good one.
D
I liked it.
A
That was really good.
B
It is. It's pretty. It's a little random, I feel like, for fans. So it's not. Yeah, it's not super straightforward. You might. You'd have to, like, do some digging.
A
Or like, five, one. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
B
Okay.
D
Okay. I like that game. I'm into it.
A
Great. Okay, moving on to fan questions, everyone's favorite part. Okay, question from Sam.
C
Oh, wait. Wow, Wait, really quick. We have to. We have to talk about someone from last week's fan questions.
D
Oh, yeah.
A
Des.
D
What?
A
You fumbled the bag. You were supposed to say, congrats to Faye.
C
Oh, yay. Won her match.
D
Yes, congrats to Faye for our coaching. Jenny and I, we coached. Good job, Jenny. Yes, congrats on your win. Would love to know, you know, what worked, actually, because I'm curious now, was it the servant volleying or is it the. The, you know, hit inside the line? Was it the lines?
B
But congrats.
D
Shout out to you and. Yeah.
A
Okay, moving on to fan questions, everyone's favorite part of the week. And first question from Sam. What determines that you qualify for the Olympics? And also tell JPEG to become active on Tik Tok.
B
Oh, gosh. Wow.
D
Well.
B
Maddie, explain it.
D
I'm going to stay out of this one.
C
You get my rulebook. So to qualify for the Olympics, you have to be eligible. Thank you, Pluto. You have to be eligible to play three of the Billie Jean King cup ties for your nation. You don't necessarily have to be chosen, but you have to be available for your. For the tie. Three BJK cup ties in the span of the four years, and then I think there's a ranking cap on it, but I'm not really sure what the actual ranking cap is. And then it is the top four singles players from your country. And then it is two doubles teams. One is made out of singles players and one is a all doubles team team. And then there's two mixed doubles teams from the group.
B
And great. For doubles, you need there's an entry on site entry list. Right. Like, you need a combined doubles for mixed. Yeah.
C
For mixed doubles, there's an on site cut.
B
Yeah.
C
So not every country is guaranteed to mix double spots. Also, just be more active on TikTok.
A
Yeah.
B
I always tell myself, all of us.
A
Need to be active.
B
But then I get, like, so tight posting things. After I posted that, when that nobody got it, and then it went viral and then it was just people making fun of it. I was like, which one?
A
They thought you were a bot. They thought it was like, slideshow of image.
B
I just did the same post as Instagram. Whatever. It was just. It got weird.
C
I'm very big on the reposts. I love.
A
Yeah, Maddie loves a repost. I'll send her. I'll send her a TikTok. And then she'll be like, yep, I reposted that.
C
And now I saw it. You saw it because I reposted.
A
Yeah. And I'm like, but at least I know what you like.
B
We do need to, at some point make our own TikTok for the players box mod, because then I would feel more comfortable doing stuff with other people, which is myself. I'm a little like, do people really want to see this? Like, it's not as fun.
D
Like at Maddie's wedding. That was fun.
B
Yeah. We did like, oh, you know what? We need Laura. We need Laura. I need her to tell me what to do.
C
Or you need Montana.
A
Oh, my gosh.
D
Montana.
C
Oh, Montana, we love you. One day.
A
One day we'll. We'll talk about Montana and her.
B
Yeah.
A
Options for our podcast name. Okay, next question from Linda. Were you all friends at first sight, or did you feel love initially became friends later on?
C
Can you reread your question? Jenny starts laughing while she's trying to talk, and she cannot get through.
A
Oh, also, people have asked. This is totally off topic, but I'm answering a question that I saw. I think it was on YouTube or the Instagram page. People have asked if I see the questions before and read them. And no, I don't. Like, sometimes I do, but most of the time, like, I don't really read them and I just kind of, like, glance over. But, yeah, so that's why I'm laughing, because this is the first I've read this question and saw it. So it's a live reaction.
B
Were we friends? I feel like out of everyone here, maybe Des and I were friends. I feel like, quickly.
C
Ish.
D
No, we bonded after my breakup dagger.
B
Yeah. I played doubles with her after a breakup and that'll do it.
A
What year was that?
D
That'll just secure us 2019.
A
Oh, because I thought we became friends in 2018.
B
But was it love at first?
A
Right? Friends at first sight at Fed cup, me.
B
Oh, that's true. Yeah, we did bond. I'm claiming that we did bond hard, but then we also. Maddie and I bonded hard at United Cup.
D
Yeah, we bonded. I bonded. I got close with Maddie and closer with you at United Cup. Like, that was for sure. That, like, kind of solidified a lot pre United Cup.
C
I was, like, friendly with DEZ and Jess, but we weren't, like, super tight. And then we spent however many days we spent together at United cup, and the group chat was going. And then we just made our own group chat. And then we added Jennie into the group chat, like, a year later.
B
Well. Cause we were all. We were all tight with Jenny, though, before that. And then we were like, why isn't Jenny in this chat? And then that's kind of.
D
We're like, we're gonna add her. I think I was close with. I got closer to Jenny. I feel like it's. I mean, I was always close with Jenny, but, like, not close, if that makes sense. We weren't hanging out all the time, but when we hung out, it's like we clicked. So then I think once this chat started and the podcast, and then when she was living in la, it was like, hey, I'm gonna come stay at your house for a week. Okay, see you there. Like, so we bonded and we hung out all the time, and it was great.
A
Yeah. So easy. So friends at first sight. I mean, I don't know, maybe me and Maddie.
B
Yeah. I feel like you. Well, you have known each other longer. Like, friends a lot longer, I think.
D
Yeah, I've known Jess longer out of the.
A
Yeah, I'd say we're all very close. Like, we literally, like, you guys are like, the only people I talk to every single day.
D
And you don't always have to talk to us.
C
But, you know, Bjorn's favorite thing is, like, I'll be sitting on my phone. He's like, are the girl. Are you guys, like, popping off or whatever? Chat's popping off. He's like, oh, let me guess. You're talking to dez, Jenny, Jess, obviously. It is funny.
D
It's like, so what's going. What's going on in the chat? What are you guys talking about? What do you guys. Oh, what's funny? It's like, none.
C
Nothing.
B
Leave us.
D
Yeah.
B
Yeah.
D
But yes, we. I don't Think there was anyone like, oh, my God, I hate her. And then we became friends.
C
Unless.
D
Unless you guys have a different story.
B
No.
A
No.
C
Okay.
A
I don't.
B
I will say, though, I. Maddie's definitely the hardest to break down.
D
Yes.
B
Compared to you. And I'm pointing. Jenny.
C
And does.
A
I'm easy.
B
Yeah, Jenny's easy. Jenny.
C
You're like, hi.
B
And she's like, oh, my God.
C
Hey.
D
Like, blah, blah.
C
I'm gonna linger.
B
Yeah.
C
Yeah.
B
Can I come with you? Can I come to dinner with you? Can I come to your room?
D
Wow.
C
I'm coming.
A
Jesse's like, no, you can't come to my room. And I'm like, oh, hey, Des, I'm coming over.
B
Yeah.
D
And then I'm like, okay. Yep. Doors open.
A
Last question from Brikini Bottom. Jesse, can you give us a backstory on your selection of headphones?
B
Yes.
A
They're getting a lot of hate in the comments.
C
People hate your headphones.
B
People absolutely hate my headphones. I don't understand the hate because I thought they were back in style. Whatever. It actually started.
C
I have my backups right here.
B
So it actually started with our first episode in New York City. My Bluetooth headphones wouldn't connect, I believe it was. And so we were all, like, panicking. First episode filming. Obviously, I still have all the technical difficulties, but I just went and bought wired headphones because I had, Like, mad at me. And someone's like, just buy the wired headphones because then you can plug it straight into your mic and there's no issues. So that is what I did. The Bluetooth was not connecting properly. Fast forward. Honestly, these headphones have been the only reliable piece of equipment that I own for filming this podcast. The mic has broken down. The wifi goes in and out. The mic doesn't connect properly. It cuts me out. Yada, yada, yada.
C
Made you buy a laptop.

Yes. There's been. Literally, there's been a lot of things going wrong with my setup, and these headphones are the only thing that I have. Side note, my trainer also told me that the Bluetooth is melting my brain. So then I was like, oh, well, I do have these wired headphones that I have to use for the podcast. So now I actually put them in my phone. I have the adapter or. Well, I have headphones with the usbc. And so if you see me walking around tournaments with wired headphones now, it's highly possible because I. I use it a lot, so I don't know why everyone's hating on it.
A
What about when you Play Call of Duty.
B
I also have a lot of technical difficulties, but I use a Bluetooth headset. See, the Wired is way better. If I could use wearing a cheese.
A
John wasn't thrilled when we were playing and you were melting your brain.
B
So that conversation started when I was in Cincinnati and I was playing Call of Duty on my, like, gaming laptop that I brought. And I hadn't really won that many matches that summer. It was a little bit of a struggle. And so he just comes up to me one time and he's like, you know, Jess, like, you know, you're playing a lot of video games, and like, that. Those Bluetooth, like, headsets, like, you know, sometimes they can make you a little, you know, like, not alert. And I was like, john, shut up. They're not. I'm not missing serves because of my freaking Bluetooth headphones.
D
And I kind of snapped at him, and he was like, okay, okay.
B
I'm just saying. I'm just saying. And so now fast forward, here we are. And now I'm kind of listening to him.
D
Yeah, see, I.
C
When you said that to me, I was like, I'm actually trying to melt my brain, so I'm gonna wear mine more often.
A
Maddie. Maddie, 24 7, has her.
C
I used to never have headphones in, and now I just have them in all the time while the other one's.
A
Charging and then puts the other one in.
B
Yeah. So, yeah, that's my. That's the story.
A
