Desiree Krafczyk
Hi, everyone, and welcome back to the players box. I am Desiree Krafczyk alongside Jenny Brady, Madison Keys and Jess Pagl Hula. As always, a friendly reminder to please give our podcast five stars and subscribe on YouTube. Also, for those who missed our first merchandise drop, good news. It's back and available until March 29th. You can shop now by clicking the link in our YouTube or Instagram bio. Okay, so we are coming to you from Miami. It feels like we've been here for a very long time. Three out of the four of us have won a match today, and we are very much happy campers. And one of us has yet to play a match still. So we're going to talk today about the headlines around Miami and what in the world is happening with the Florida weather and play a little game. But first, let's start with our unforced error. Jessica.
Madison Keys
I feel like I have a couple, but I'll go with my unforced error. I think I already told you guys. My dog Des was, like, standing in front of me, kind of, like, funny, but she was kind of, like, being cute. So I was like, oh, it does. I was like, you're so pretty. And I, like, go down and, like, rub her face. And then I'm like, oh. I'm like, did you roll in something? I'm like, you stink. And I come up and she just vomits all over, like, on my feet. Like, missed my feet, but vomited everywhere. And then a couple hours later, we were playing Call of Duty. And so in Call of Duty, there's this thing called War Zone. And it's like, Jenny knows, but you have to be the last team to survive the circle. So basically, we were. It was the Final circle and we were this like second or third to last team. And she just vomited all over the couch and the carpet in the middle of the game. And so Taylor, like stands up, like, cover. He's like, oh, my God. And we're like still playing and like, he covers his, like, face with his T shirt and he's like standing up. We're like yelling on the thing and I'm like, oh, my God, it smells so bad. And there was just vomit everywhere. So it does. Had a bad day the other day, but she's feeling much better now. But yeah, multiple throw ups is not fun. Jenny.
Jenny Brady
Maybe I'll go with a winner this week for the first time and say. Oh, and say I got my first dubs win today in a few years. So that was fun. Maddie.
Jess Pegula
My unforced error of the week is that I absolutely crashed out over my coffee the other day because I was like, go in. I'm not going to name the place, but I go in and I was like, can I please get a latte with just like less milk? Just less, like, don't fill the cup because this place has like, it's like, no, not exaggerating. It's like 20 ounces. And I was like, I don't want that. Can I just have like six ounces? And she was like, we only have one size. And I was like, that's fine. You can put it in the same cup but just like a little bit less milk. Like you like 6 ounces, 8 ounces. She's like, oh, okay. Like, I'll put a note. Like, awesome. Go sit down. It comes around the corner and it was literally so full, it was like spilling everywhere. And as soon as she sat it, just set it down, I just went like, mute. I was just really upset and couldn't really function and like stormed back up and was like, I'll just take a double espresso. Thank you, Des.
Desiree Krafczyk
Yeah, I think you guys know about my unforced error a few days ago. So I'm obviously staying with Jess in Boca, but I have a rental car and I was driving, leaving the site and trying to obviously look at my maps. Like, not on my phone, but in the car. And there were like sirens and or police officers behind me and their lights were going off. And I was like, that can't be for me. So I kept driving and they were still following me. And I'm like about to turn onto like the turnpike and so they're still following me. And I pull over. Probably the worst spot to Pull over. I had three cop cars right behind me. And I was like, myself. I was so nervous. I don't know what happened. And I was like, oh, my God, is this, like a stolen vehicle? Like, I just. In my head, I was like, there's nothing. I didn't do anything wrong. So the officer came to my window and was like, hey, you know, you just bypassed us going 45. And I was like, what? Like, I thought that was a speed limit. And they're like, no, like, we're pulled to the side. Like you're supposed to shift over or slow down. And I was like, okay, I'm so sorry. Like, I was like, word vomiting. Then they took my license. And he was like, is this a valid license? And I was like, I think so. I don't know. And he goes, is this a valid license? I was like, I don't know. You're doubting me? Like, I'm doubting myself. I just got my license in December, so. So he took it, left. The third officer came over, and he was like, how you doing? And I was like, I'm kind of nervous right now. I don't. I mean, I have three cop cars right behind me. And he's like, yeah, do you have any weapons? And I said, just. Just my rackets. Like, I just word vomited. So I said that. And then he's like, oh, yeah. Like, where are you from? It's like, I'm definitely not from here. So I'm sorry, I'm here for the Miami Open. I'm playing in it. I had to draw that card. So it did help in my favor. They gave me a warning, but, yeah, that was quite the experience.
Madison Keys
So I think you win.
Jenny Brady
Yeah, you win, guys.
Desiree Krafczyk
I was, like, so nervous. I wish I had my whoop on because my heart rate was skyrocketing.
Jenny Brady
I bet. I bet there's nothing worse. There's nothing worse.
Desiree Krafczyk
Yeah, but like, you think, like, you look in the. In the rear view and you're like, that's not for me. They're just, you know, it's normal here. I don't know. And then they keep following you. I'm like, wait, what the hell did I do? So, yeah, you said just my rackets.
Madison Keys
When he asked. Yeah, there were any weapons.
Jess Pegula
I could just see you just like, guys.
Desiree Krafczyk
I was short circuiting, like.
Jenny Brady
And then giggling.
Desiree Krafczyk
So casual. He was, no, I was not giggling. I was.
Jess Pegula
I was so serious.
Desiree Krafczyk
He was just like, look, he was chilling. He's like, how you doing? Got any weapons? And I was like, just The. The rackets in the trunk, if you want to check. Like, I was, like, freaking out.
Jenny Brady
Oh, my God.
Jess Pegula
That's okay.
Desiree Krafczyk
I passed. Didn't go to jail. Note to self, slow down when there's cops on the side of the road,
Jenny Brady
but, well, it's actually a law.
Desiree Krafczyk
Well, okay, yes, I understand that, but I thought I was speeding.
Jenny Brady
And also, I told DEZ this today when I saw her when I was heading down to Miami on the turnpike in huge letters in
Jess Pegula
electronic signs.
Jenny Brady
Yes, thanks, Maddie. On the sign, it says, if a car is pulled over, move over. It's the law.
Jess Pegula
Correct?
Desiree Krafczyk
Yes, it is true, but I just literally just didn't even see them. And, yeah, went over my head. I think I was just bopping to Taylor Swift. That's probably what happened.
Jenny Brady
So, yeah, in that quite.
Desiree Krafczyk
Quite the unforced error. But, yeah, it's all good. I think I. I think I win.
Jenny Brady
I think you went. Glad you were not handcuffed.
Desiree Krafczyk
Yes. I would have called one of you guys to please ask bail, please. Thanks.
Madison Keys
That would have been an amazing episode.
Desiree Krafczyk
Yeah, that would have been quite the story. Bring the vlog camera out.
Jess Pegula
Yeah. Oh, my gosh. It could have been, like, the Kardashians when Khloe had to go to jail and Kim's, like, taking pictures. That would have been us for sure.
Desiree Krafczyk
Love the support, guys.
Jenny Brady
Okay, quick honesty check. Have you had a single vegetable today?
Jess Pegula
Define vegetable.
Desiree Krafczyk
Does a lettuce on a burger count?
Madison Keys
If that counts, I'm thriving.
Jenny Brady
See, this is exactly why I started keeping Huel around. Some mornings, I fully plan to make a big breakfast and be a responsible adult, and then suddenly it's like 10am and I've had coffee and vibes and
Desiree Krafczyk
maybe half a granola bar.
Jess Pegula
Right. So lately, my get my life together morning combo has been hu Daily greens ready to drink and the Huel Black edition ready to drink. I usually start the day with the daily greens first thing in the morning. I've been drinking the peach and hibiscus one, and actually, it surprised me. It's lightly sparkling and really refreshing, which is not what you expect from a greens drink.
Desiree Krafczyk
Yeah, greens drinks usually feel like a punishment.
Madison Keys
Exactly. But this one's created by nutritionists and dietitians, and it has 42 vitamins, minerals, and superfoods, plus 4 grams of fiber. Just 1 gram of sugar, and it's only 25 calories. And there's no powder, no mixing, no mess. You literally just grab it and go.
Jess Pegula
Which is important because if I have to mix something, it's not happening same.
Desiree Krafczyk
Then if I realize I haven't actually eaten yet, I grab a Huell Black edition ready to drink. It's a complete meal, which saves me on mornings when I oversleep or I'm running out the door. I It has 35 grams of protein, 27 essential vitamins and minerals. It's gluten free. There are no artificial sweeteners, colors or flavors. And honestly, it keeps me full until
Jenny Brady
lunch, which is impressive because I'm hungry every 20 minutes.
Madison Keys
Also, it's under $5 per meal, which is cheaper than basically anything I'm impulse buying at a coffee shop, especially in airports.
Jess Pegula
So if you're trying to feel a little more put together or you just want some easy wins in your day, this combo is such a good place to start.
Jenny Brady

Jess Pegula
That's why we've been on Factor Fully prepared meals designed by dietitians, crafted by chefs and we literally just heat them up two minutes.
Jenny Brady
That's my attention span. Perfect.
Desiree Krafczyk
Okay, wait, what did you guys end up ordering? Because I went heavy on the high protein.
Jess Pegula
Of course you did. I tried the garlic herb salmon and it was unreal. Roasted veggies, healthy fats, actually filling and no refined sugars or weird artificial stuff.
Jenny Brady
That's my thing. No refined seed oils, no artificial sweeteners. It feels clean but still tastes good. I did some calorie smart meals and one of the Mediterranean ones.
Desiree Krafczyk
Zero regrets and they rotate around 100 meals a week so you don't get bored. There's high protein calorie smart GLP1 support, ready to eat salads, even the new Muscle Pro collection if you're training hard.
Jess Pegula
Also always fresh, never frozen. That's the key.
Jenny Brady
No prep, no dishes, no what are we making tonight? Spiral I ordered these myself and loved them. The grilled chicken with sweet potatoes has been my go to easy filling and it keeps me on track when I'm busy.
Desiree Krafczyk
It just makes eating well feel doable.
Jess Pegula
And in March we love doable.

Jess Pegula
Well, as everyone has mentioned, we are in Miami and we already have lots of headlines even though the tournament has just started. We already had a full day that was washed out. We all ended up playing completely different days than we were supposed to. Thursday there were 50 matches on the schedule and yesterday there were 52 on the schedule. So I think we kind of all knew that probably wasn't going to happen. But. But I'm sure our listeners would like to know how we find out what's going on as rain delays are happening, which this week especially is one of my favorite weeks because we have Pam on the intercom and we love the Pam updates during the rain delays.
Madison Keys
Yeah, if you want to know how we find out what happens, just Pam on the intercom going, yeah, matches have been canceled for today every 30 minutes.
Jenny Brady
And then she throws in a little meteorologist update too. Well, to the east we have a small cloud that continues to rain on us and Nothing to the north, nothing to the west and nothing to the south, but this one from the east. And I was like, what is happening right now? Sick.
Jess Pegula
All poor Pam.
Jenny Brady
She just wants us to get matches on.
Madison Keys
I will say Pam has like the roughest tournaments. They're always the tournaments with the worst weather. Cincinnati here. And I think she does Charleston. Right?
Jess Pegula
She does Charleston too.
Madison Keys
It's like, like she gets the tournaments with insane like out of nowhere thunderstorms. Like the weather just flips like in a couple hours and she. Yeah. Is battling. We wanted to get some.
Desiree Krafczyk
We will.
Madison Keys
I think maybe we should do it in Charleston. But we definitely, we want to get her like a behind the scenes video to help explain like what is going on during rain delays and when she has to switch matches and stuff like that. Because I think it would be really funny and informative.
Desiree Krafczyk
Was it Thursday that was completely washed out? Wednesday Wednesday completely washed out. And that was the day. Jenny, you were playing?
Jenny Brady
Yep.
Desiree Krafczyk
And what you were What?
Jenny Brady
I was first at 12. I got there at 8:30. I was supposed to hit either at 9:30 or 10. And when I got there it was, it was fine, no rain. And then while I was doing like my dynamic warm up and stretching and stuff, it started to, to mist a little bit. I went out to the court to, to warm up and the court was way too slippery. So then I just went back inside and from that point on it was just raining pretty much the whole day. I was ready to go at 12 and then it was okay, delay. There was a small bit of rain. So 12:30 they said. And then it was 1:30 and then 3 and then 4. They would get the court dry and then it would rain again and they would get the court close to dry and then it would rain again. So it was the entire day. Honestly when I came home it was probably 6:30 and I felt like I'd played three hour, three set match. Just mentally I was absolutely exhausted. So it's really draining just sitting around waiting to play. Especially when you're first on because it's like you have to be on and you can't be like, oh, I'm not gonna play today. And then you're, you're out there and you play and then you're like, oh, like it, it never turns out well. So.
Madison Keys
So you went from first and then they rescheduled you for not before 7pm the next day?
Jenny Brady
Yeah, so it was first at 12 on Wednesday and then when the schedule came out really late on Wednesday evening, I was not before 7 on Thursday. So yeah, on Grandstand. So it was the complete opposite schedule.
Madison Keys
And then Maddie and I got canceled yesterday. She was fourth on, I was fifth and we were rescheduled to. We're filming today, but we played today and we won our second rounds. But yeah, I got to the site and I see Maddie and she's like, they just canceled me. And I was like, oh, like why haven't they canceled me? Because I was fifth match. But there was, there was a lot of like moving around the schedule. I was talking to James Blake, the tournament director a little bit and he was saying how they ended up having to move arena to the BB court, which is a much smaller court. But they had to because her session was going to run into the night session which was Alcaraz and Fonseca. So I know that caused a little bit of drama because she didn't obviously want to be moved to BV and they didn't want to be behind in their night session. But they already had a couple rain delays that morning which just, yeah, caused a lot of chaos. And then that kind of led to us being canceled as well. It was kind of part of it.
Jess Pegula
They needed to move arena but she was going to go on the court that I was playing on and I'm sure she didn't want to go from next on to last. And I had been there prepping to be fourth on and if I had to get shifted to fifth on, I wasn't going to go on. I, I don't think, I don't think Ann and Arena finished until like 10:30 last night. So I was gone on at like 11 or whatever. So honestly was super glad that we got the early cancel and I was tucked into bed and ready for a day match today. But we were laughing last night because we don't think anyone has a worse job than the practice court desk.
Desiree Krafczyk
The like praise them. Oh my God.
Jess Pegula
Six minutes after the schedule comes out because you try to call and it's busy tone for like 15 minutes straight.
Jenny Brady
Yep, I witnessed that last night when I was trying to book my warm up for today. I, I actually just pulled it up right now. I called 5 times and then 5 times on WhatsApp. Busy tone 2 times on regular phone, no answer. 7 times on WhatsApp. One more time, no answer either.
Madison Keys
You sound like one more time, crazy girl.
Jenny Brady
One more time on regular phone. And then I finally got the that hello on the WhatsApp. So after 1, 2, 3, 4, 4 plus 12, 16. 16 times. You're crazy.
Desiree Krafczyk
I wouldn't answer either.
Jess Pegula
I would block you, dude.
Jenny Brady
They don't know who's calling, obviously.
Desiree Krafczyk
Yeah, I mean, that's a stressful job. And it's self. And also, like, booking. I mean, look how many people are booking warm ups and also people booking practices for the next day. They're probably like, people who are PR who are booking practices, like, go away. I need to do warm ups first. But it is such a mess. Yeah. 16 to.
Jess Pegula
Oh, my gosh.
Desiree Krafczyk
Damn.
Jess Pegula
Well, I think the other thing that's very difficult during the rain delays, the late nights, all of that, is that everyone, I think, assumes that the players know immediately, like, what's happening, but we don't.
Madison Keys
We just get Pam's weather updates and some not before times, and. And then you don't want to go into the office because they're usually all talking, trying to figure it out, and it's like high stress. And so you kind of just like, poke your head in and you're like, oh, I just, like, just check in to see if the schedule, like, do you have an idea of my match? And you try to be super nice because it's usually pretty chaotic.
Desiree Krafczyk
Yeah. And they're already stressing itself.
Madison Keys
When they finally canceled me, I went into the office and they were like, no, no. It's like, James is kind of like, it's like, it's done, but, like, it's not technically official that I was canceled. And so Mariana, the supervisor, was standing by the printer, and she was, like, waiting for it to print the schedule. And she's like, when it prints out of the machine, it's official. Like, that's when you'll know for sure. And then she stuck still, like, the printer, like, wasn't working. And she's like, it's not working. And then she was, like, made a joke about it. And then I finally, like, walked away. And like, three minutes later, she calls me and she. This is actually really funny. She goes, okay, you've been canceled. And I'm like, okay, like, great. Like, whatever. And she's like, are you happy? And I'm like, yeah. And she's like, oh, thank God. Okay. Just making sure. I was like, okay, Marianne, it's fine. It was really funny. Like, she just needed to hear, like, yes, I'm happy with this decision that you made, because obviously they were getting a lot of heat from other players who were in a different scenario that maybe weren't as happy. And so she just. She needed a little positive reinforcement.
Jess Pegula
Yeah, they've had some rough days. Meanwhile, during the rain Delays. We are all just making TikTok videos and killing time. And they're like, pulling their hair out
Desiree Krafczyk
in the offices with the practice schedules. I wonder if it's the same for you guys if it rains. So say you practice at like, 9 or 10 and you get rained out. Are you guys, like. Do you guys get rebooked? Or you have to wait until the afternoon, like, because that's how. Obviously, it works for us. Or do you guys get priority on, like, certain courts?
Jess Pegula
If it rains during your hour, your hour kind of disappears.
Desiree Krafczyk
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Madison Keys
They don't, like, push you back, right? Yeah.
Desiree Krafczyk
Or you can try and hit later in, like, at 6 or 7pm but there's no light, so that's tough.
Jess Pegula
Yeah. They'll try to find somewhere where you can drop in, but if it's just one of those days where it happens to rain during your practice, tough luck. You gotta figure it out.
Madison Keys
Well, once the weather finally kind of cleared up, because that was actually last night. So the big match last night was Alcaraz and Fonseca, and it sounded so loud. It was crazy. It sounded like a soccer football match game. It was crazy. Obviously, we know Fonseca here. There's so many Brazilians in South Florida. I think the crowd was mostly for him, from what I could gather by watching on tv, and also nuts, that it was a second round.
Jess Pegula
Last year, they had put Fonseca out on grandstand, maybe, and there were so many Brazilian fans that they literally could not fit like a third of them in the stadium. And they. I think all the fans kind of knew that there was going to be limited seating. So last year, the match before Fonseca, they all came in and took up, like, all of. All of the seats. And who was playing? Was it Jordan Thompson?
Jenny Brady
I have no idea.
Desiree Krafczyk
I can't remember.
Jess Pegula
I think it might have been if you know that. But he, like, something weird happened where someone was up and they kind of started losing it. And then the crowd started being like, hurry and finish. We want the next match.
Desiree Krafczyk
Oh, my gosh.
Jess Pegula
So I think the tournament knew this year that any match that Joao was playing needed to be on stadium.
Desiree Krafczyk
And the stadium was packed because I think we were watching last night and I think they used part of the football. So obviously the stadium is inside a football stadium, and they use part of that, like, football stadium area where people can sit as well. And the tickets were, what, $200 or $300? They were. That's what they were going for in, like, kind of. It's like not Inside the stadium, but it's like a little bit out. Oh, wow. Three times the normal price. So. And it filled up and it was really good, obviously atmosphere like you said.
Madison Keys
But it's kind of why I think they unfortunately had to move arena, because when they go into the night session, they can't have a sold out. I'm assuming it was sold out. I don't know. But like a. All of those fans sitting out in like a day session crowd, like waiting to get into the stadium. I was thinking was going to cause a lot of issues, but yeah, the. The fandom for him is crazy. Kind of reminds me of like Alex Ayala kind of like.
Jenny Brady
Yeah.
Madison Keys
Women in the men fan base. Has anyone had any crazy fan experiences or interactions lately between any Wells and Miami here?
Desiree Krafczyk
Well, Maddie, didn't you sign a baby?
Madison Keys
Yeah.
Desiree Krafczyk
Didn't you sign a baby's butt?
Jess Pegula
I did sign a baby's butt, yes.
Desiree Krafczyk
Like actual butt or like the diaper?
Jess Pegula
No, there was a diaper and a onesie, but the guy was literally like, will you sign my baby's butt? And I was like, sure. You got.
Madison Keys
It's so funny.
Jess Pegula
Oh, my God.
Jenny Brady
I feel like Fonseca and Ayala should play mixed doubles. Could you imagine?
Desiree Krafczyk
Insane.
Jess Pegula
That would be insane.
Jenny Brady
They would need to.
Desiree Krafczyk
Or play against each other. That would be crazy. Yeah, but I meant, like, just like the crowd itself is just gonna be insanely large.
Jenny Brady
I was thinking in singles.
Jess Pegula
I was like, no, no, no, no.
Jenny Brady
They would literally need to take down the stadium within the stadium and just use the entire football stadium proceeding.
Madison Keys
Someone else who's been playing really well this year, svitolina. She has 20 wins this season, and I think leads has the most wins.
Jenny Brady
Well, she has more than first player
Madison Keys
to 20 wins this season. I know, right? What?
Jenny Brady
What? Yeah, pretty sure that was last year.
Madison Keys
It was definitely me. One of the years when I played, it's because I played an insane amount of matches.
Desiree Krafczyk
She's been dethroned.
Jenny Brady
I need you to lock in.
Madison Keys
But I. She wanted to get back to the top 10. She's been playing some really good tennis. Obviously one of the moms on tour. So how impressive do you think it's been for her to. To be coming back? I do feel like she's playing really well this year, like just comparatively to maybe a few years before. I feel like she has kind of. I don't know, since she's been back with battles, I feel like she's playing a little bit better.
Jess Pegula
I feel like it kind of started end of last year. All of a sudden it was like you kind of saw a switch where you're like, she's gonna be a problem.
Madison Keys
Definitely.
Jess Pegula
I think she's moving really well. But I also think that since coming back from giving birth, she has adjusted her game a little bit. She's definitely playing more aggressive, going after things a little bit more, but then also has the weapons that she had before where if she needs to lock in, she can make 50 balls in a row. So, yeah, I think that, I think it's been really, I guess, kind of fun to see someone so late in their career kind of reinvent themselves and come back with all these new weapons.
Madison Keys
She's won so many tournaments when I play her, and they're like so many. I don't know how many. If we could fact check that real
Desiree Krafczyk
quick, but it's in WTA finals.
Madison Keys
She's like 30 time title, WTA title winner. And I'm like, oh, my gosh. Like, that's a lot. That's a lot more than me. Jesus. That's a lot of tournaments. It's crazy how like, like she's had an incredible, like, career. Just, oh, 19, 19 titles. That's a lot.
Jenny Brady
That is a lot.
Desiree Krafczyk
Like 30.
Madison Keys
She also wears a ton of bling when she plays, and we know Arenas was playing with her ring on her new engagement ring in Indian Wells. Anybody else here play with a lot of bling? I mean, I, I have some, but nothing huge.
Jenny Brady
I have my little J
Madison Keys
that you got from me.
Jenny Brady
I got my little J that from Goriana, that I got from Jessica.
Desiree Krafczyk
I definitely don't have to Irina and Satolina's extensive jewelry, but I definitely wear like a few rings, some bracelets, lots of necklaces and earrings. Love. I love a little sparkle. Why not, you know, maybe blind your opponent.
Jenny Brady
You see that at the net. That's pretty easy to do in doubles.
Madison Keys
Yeah.
Jess Pegula
I've got my bracelet stack going. I always have necklaces on. I don't play with rings. I have lots of holes in my ears. I want more.
Madison Keys
Is there something that would be so expensive that you refuse to play in?
Jenny Brady
If I bought it, yeah.
Desiree Krafczyk
No.
Jenny Brady
If it was given to me, no.
Madison Keys
Well, like for arena, for example, or Elena, like when they play with their ring on and it's like a massive engagement ring, will you be like, oh, gosh, this is so expensive. I don't want to risk playing in it.
Desiree Krafczyk
I feel like I would hit my racket with it. Or like, I don't know. Or it's. I don't know. Necklace. I would wear something like. I would. Yeah, you'd be.
Madison Keys
I wear it.
Desiree Krafczyk
Yeah. I'd be iced out.
Jenny Brady
I feel like some of the. The men, they have these long chains and necklaces and they, like, literally hit themselves in the face, and I couldn't do that.
Madison Keys
Speaking of bling. And because she's currently playing right now, Alicia Parks is playing Coco and looks like they might split. But funny story about Alicia we were trying to figure out. So Alicia lives in South Florida. A lot of us drive to the site here that are local. Even Maddie from. You drove, right, From Orlando. Yeah. So a lot of people have our cars here, blah, blah, blah. Some of the top seated players get, like, a front row parking spot. We were all trying to figure out who the pink G wagon was. That's just parking just in the parking lot. And we would always see it. And I pull into site one day, and I am next to. Somewhat next to Lorenzo Musetti at the front of the parking, and I see Alicia getting out of her pink G wagon, like a shiny pink G wagon. And I was like, oh, Alicia's the one with the pink G wagon? Because we were trying to figure it out. And then of course, too, I'm like, why is she parking in Lorenzo Musetti's spot? But this was right after he had pulled from the tournament. And I was like, wow, Kind of genius. Like, she knew he pulled out in his spot because he wasn't going to show up. And then I was thinking, well, maybe someone else gets the seated spot. But no, it's. I. I don't. Someone does. But I'm just saying, like, no one, no other top player was moving into that spot. So basically, she knew no one was going to park in there, and she just parked right up there. And I feel like that's very Alicia because she. She would do that. And then my agent, we were talking about it, and he said. He said something to her about it, and she, like, kind of laughed and smiled and he was like, well played.
Desiree Krafczyk
Maybe she puts her own sign up.
Madison Keys
Alicia Parks. Right on the little thing.
Jenny Brady
Yeah, I forgot to tell you. I. I saw Musetti that afternoon, so I wonder if he drove in or I did see him on site. He was there. So I wonder if he pulled up and was like, wait, who took my spot? This isn't my car.
Desiree Krafczyk
It's not your pink G wagon.
Jess Pegula
I love to play the game. Every day when I'm walking in and I'm walking past all the assigned spots, and I'm like, that's not the same car as Yesterday who's parking it there. And that one is different. They're not supposed to be there. And it's like musical cars. Like, I noticed today Ben was parked in a different spot than he's been in. But this morning I noticed that someone was in his spot. And I would love to just put a camera on the spots just to see what's happening up there.
Madison Keys
Someone parked in my spot the other day and we Maddie maybe thought it was dez, like taking myself infiltrating be funny. And I was like, no, that's not Dez's car. And I don't know whose car it was. And I was kind of mad. So then I parked in Alex Demar spot, which funny story, actually that happened this afternoon. Fritz sent me a picture of my car parked and he said, is this you? And his spot was like super narrow. So I thought he was giving me shade that like I didn't give him enough space. So I was like, I'm definitely like parked fine. Like, what is he talking about? So I walk out there and I replied, I was like, I gave you enough space. Like, I don't know. But like the signs are like, there's not enough space. So the signs are really close together. And he's like, no, no. He's like, you know it just like me and you and Amanda are around me and they don't give me enough space. So he's like, I was just wondering if that was you. I was like, okay, cool. And then I said, yeah, I parked in Demon spot the other day because someone parked in my spot. But then I saw there was a different car there today. And he's like, oh, that was my car. And I said, I said, oh, that actually makes so much sense because I walked by cuz I was like, does Demon have a car here? Like, I didn't think he'd have a car, but there was an Asics shoe in the front seat. And I was like, huh. But this car. Sorry, Taylor.
Jess Pegula
Oh my gosh.
Madison Keys
The car was trashed. Guys. I walked past so bad yesterday.
Desiree Krafczyk
This is normal.
Madison Keys
I'm sorry, I have to.
Desiree Krafczyk
We love you, Taylor.
Jenny Brady
But wow, wait, that happened at Indian Wells one year. And the only reason why I parked next to this Tesla and I was like, oh my gosh, they have like so much junk in their car. And I was like, I have to be nosy. Like, and I saw a Starbucks.
Madison Keys
The Starbucks cups are a dead.
Jenny Brady
The Starbucks cup and. And the like a wrapper from the bakery or whatever, like food item. And it said, Taylor, Fritz. And I was like, oh, my God, Someone needs to clean his car. Mor. You need to something. You need to tell this boy to clean his car.
Desiree Krafczyk
Jenny's going to go out there and clean it.
Jenny Brady
Yeah. No, it was crazy. There was shit everywhere.
Jess Pegula
I was walking out the other day and I happened just to, like, walk past it, and I knew that it was his spot, and I just looked and. And I almost texted and was like, no, I'm gonna leave Taylor alone.
Madison Keys
Yeah, it was. I saw the Asics shoe and then all these Starbucks cups. And now that I totally remember from last year, he. Oh, it was kind of the same. It didn't look any different. But I just saw the Asics and I was like, does Alex, like, he doesn't seem like a Starbucks guy. Like, there's no way this is his car. So I thought it was someone totally out like that parked in his spot. Whatever. So then Taylor is like, oh, that's me. And then he's like, oh, you looked inside? And I was like, well, I mean, it was like, right there. I just looked in the window and Starbucks everywhere. And he said something like, the back is even worse or the trunk is even worse.
Desiree Krafczyk
And I'm like, can't confirm. The car in Carson is worse. Oh, man.
Jess Pegula
Oh.
Madison Keys
Oh, yeah. You probably see that one a lot.
Jess Pegula
Yeah.
Madison Keys
Oh, my God. Sorry, Taylor. It's. It's shocking, though. Speaking of giving the guys. I don't know what else to say. Sorry. Me and Tommy broke up.
Jess Pegula
I'm sorry, Rip.
Madison Keys
Yeah, I know. I think we broke up.
Desiree Krafczyk
It's a good run.
Madison Keys
Yeah.
Desiree Krafczyk
Did you talk to him about this breakup or you just decided, does he know about this breakup?
Madison Keys
Well, we talked about it on that clip, and then I have. We happened to post that clip coincidentally right after we did a photo shoot together and before we had to do a sponsor dinner together. And he was like. Like, I literally. We picked him up at his house, and he, like, is in the car, and then he's like, wait, dude. Like, what hap. Like, what is this thing on online that you posted? Like, what are you doing to me? Like, out here? And I was like, oh, I kind of forgot. Like, that was bad timing. Like, I didn't mean to do it right before we had dinner. So we made a really kind of funny joke of it. And obviously Tommy's great, so he's played along really well. And we took that really awkward picture and we were talking about it at dinner, and he's like, yeah, you need to do it. Where it's like, the meme where you meme like the same picture ten times. So that's. That ended up being what we did. So it was pretty funny. But yeah, now he's, he's available ladies.
Desiree Krafczyk
For tennis.
Jenny Brady
Yeah, for tennis.
Madison Keys
Obviously he's, he's. Jenny, I feel like I could see you having a lot of fun playing mix with Tommy.
Jenny Brady
Yeah, that would be funny. But like we're both a little like bird watching sometimes maybe. So I feel like it would be fun. Yeah, I would love to play with Tommy.
Madison Keys
I think a mic'd up version would be great.
Jenny Brady
Oh yeah, me and Tommy miked up. Yeah, that would be. That would be fun.
Madison Keys
Jennifer, Having a skincare routine can be hard with how much stress we put our skin under and with how much we travel. I don't want to bring a full medicine cabinet with me.
Desiree Krafczyk
One of my favorites is the One skin peptide eye cream. I use a pea sized amount, tap it around my eye and it melts into my skin with no greasy finish. It's peptide packed so it helps smooth fine lines and calms puffiness. And my concealer sits so much better.
Madison Keys
After I started using the OS1 face serum and love how it's replaced multiple steps and simplified everything, my skin texture feels really good and I especially love how it absorbs. It just sinks in without feeling heavy. I'm someone who actually looks into how skin care ingredients work and how they interact. So learning that their peptide targets senescent cells, one of the drivers behind wrinkles and loss of elasticity, made it feel less like hype and more like legitimate research.
Desiree Krafczyk
Being in the sun as much as we are, I'm trying to be proactive about my skin aging and this is all honestly become the workhorse step of my routine. It's simple, effective and grounded in science.
Jenny Brady
Born from over a decade of longevity research, One Skin's OS1 peptide is proven to target the visible signs of aging, helping you unlock your healthiest skin now and as you age. Okay, moving on to our little game that we have planned today called Save it for a rainy day. Sticking to the rainy theme so far here in Miami. In this game, you can either spill the tea or save it for a rainy day. All of you can decide as a group if there's a story to spill or if you want to pass, AKA save for a rainy day. First one. One WTA player whose game you secretly love. Mokova.
Jess Pegula
Agree. Why?
Jenny Brady
Because it's crafty and it's exciting to watch. Athletic.
Desiree Krafczyk
She's like an awkward player. Yeah.
Jenny Brady
It's not boring.
Desiree Krafczyk
A matchup you never want to face again.
Madison Keys
Serena.
Jess Pegula
Serena.
Madison Keys
I didn't even play her, like, in her prime. When did you play her Auckland finals? After she had her first baby. And that was, like, her for. Actually, I think the only tournament that she won after. But I remember being kind of close, and then she kind of just clicked to a different level, and I was like, whoa, I don't want any part of this anymore.
Jess Pegula
No, it's like it's another level being on the other side of the net. You just, like, you think you're hanging, and then all of a sudden you're like, oh, no, I'm not hanging.
Jenny Brady
Maybe Maddie.
Jess Pegula
Oh, yeah. Oh, PTSD from practice the other day.
Jenny Brady
Well, not. Not technically that, but maybe I didn't win a game. I think the last time we played, obviously, was several years ago, but I was thinking about it actually today, and I was like, wow, she really waxed me. Like, I really. Like, there was nothing I could do.
Jess Pegula
Yeah.
Jenny Brady
Like, I was, like, just thinking about it today, and I was like, there's not really much I could do. Des, do you have a. Besides me?
Jess Pegula
Of course. Any singles?
Jenny Brady
Do you have a doubles team that you.
Desiree Krafczyk
Wait, what I'm getting.
Jess Pegula
I don't get it.
Jenny Brady
Because we played in college.
Desiree Krafczyk
Oh, God.
Jenny Brady
And you retired after three games?
Desiree Krafczyk
Yeah, I retired after two. One. My knee injury. A matchup I never want to face again. I'm gonna save it for a rainy day.
Jenny Brady
Oh, wow. Okay. All right, who has the most annoying game style? Maddie, I want to say.
Jess Pegula
Oh, I thought you were gonna say it.
Madison Keys
Dang it.
Jenny Brady
I thought you were gonna say it. Do it. No.
Jess Pegula
Okay.
Madison Keys
No.
Desiree Krafczyk
Jess.
Madison Keys
Save for a rainy day. But we all know. But save it for a rainy day.
Jenny Brady
Jenny Sue Way.
Desiree Krafczyk
Oh, my gosh.
Madison Keys
Oh, yeah, that would be tough.
Desiree Krafczyk
I was going to say Nicolescu, because I was just talking about her. She's a good one. She's just so unconventional and she just like her slice. It just. You don't know where it's going. And, like, even her, it just, like, stays down. It. Yeah, you just don't know what you're going to get. But she does play well. Best looking ATP player on tour.
Jenny Brady
Baratini.
Desiree Krafczyk
I was gonna say Bertini. Mateo.
Jenny Brady
Ciao, Zizu.
Desiree Krafczyk
Oh, Jenny's shooting her shot. You guys.
Madison Keys
The one, we always say his name on this podcast that you said Rinderknesh.
Jenny Brady
Rinderkanesh.
Desiree Krafczyk
Running.
Jess Pegula
Take a shot. Every time we mention him,
Desiree Krafczyk
you could
Jenny Brady
say it's every episode. Vachero.
Jess Pegula
Who else?
Desiree Krafczyk
Jenny.
Jess Pegula
Yeah, Jenny. Just take this one.
Desiree Krafczyk
Yeah, take it away.
Jenny Brady
Jack Draper, Tommy Paul. The most luxury forward thing you spend money on that you deem necessary.
Jess Pegula
I'm fantastic at justifying every purchase I've ever made, so there's not one specific
Jenny Brady
thing I don't spend money that we know.
Desiree Krafczyk
Sue on food, maybe my house. That was necessary.
Jenny Brady
Worst doubles partner out of the four of you. Ooh.
Jess Pegula
Me, myself.
Desiree Krafczyk
Is that because you just don't play doubles?
Jess Pegula
That's probably why I feel like my problem is that I either lose first round in doubles or I'm sneaky. And all of a sudden I'm in a semifinal and there's nowhere in between. And there's really no understanding as to, like, how or why all of a sudden I've win. I win matches, and then the next time I'm like, wait, I just made semis of, like, a slam. I'm so good. And then I go and I get waxed by someone and I'm like, I don't even know where I'm supposed to be standing. So I should just go back to singles. Yours.
Jenny Brady
Yeah, I love that one.
Jess Pegula
I'm literally just like, I should have gone on that. Should have gone on that one, too. And then I finally try to go on one that's, like, in the opposite alley. And then I'm like, go back to singles.
Madison Keys
So Maddie and I Almost won Madrid.
Desiree Krafczyk
What?
Madison Keys
Oh, yeah, we did won Madrid.
Desiree Krafczyk
When was this?
Madison Keys
I don't know, but we should have beat Cryge. And we play, like, a. Yeah.
Jess Pegula
Wasn't that, like, quarters?
Madison Keys
It was, like, 11, 9 in the 10 point tiebreak. And, like, we were playing really well, and we missed, like, two returns or something. And then, like, somehow lost. And Jenny and I played great in Cincy.
Jenny Brady
Yeah. And we lost to them.
Desiree Krafczyk
Okay, who's most likely to ghost the group chat?
Jenny Brady
Desiree does.
Desiree Krafczyk
Yeah.
Jenny Brady
Because she doesn't read messages. Yeah.
Desiree Krafczyk
I check out sometimes.
Jess Pegula
I'll own it.
Jenny Brady
Biggest diva moment you've seen.
Madison Keys
I feel like this is a good one. I. Whatever. Practicing with somebody and someone on their team. They were about to serve, and someone on their team was standing. I don't know which way, but on the wrong side of the net. So he was. She was serving, and he was by, like, the net post, and he was on, like, one side, and she just glares at him and. And he moves to the other side. And then she was like, okay, now I can serve. And I was like, whoa.
Desiree Krafczyk
Oh, my gosh.
Madison Keys
Crazy. That was a pretty big diva moment. I was like, did I, like, look back after the point? I'm, like, talking to Mark. I'm like, did you just see that happen? That was crazy. And the guy just, like, did it, like, so submissively. It was like, oh, no, sorry, I'm not in the right spot.
Desiree Krafczyk
Who on tour lives like, they're in a different tax bracket than the rest of you?
Jenny Brady
I'm kidding.
Madison Keys
Irina. I mean, she's playing with the ring. She's got the Gucci thing now. Like, I don't know.
Desiree Krafczyk
She likes strutting it.
Madison Keys
Oh, she wears all of the. The crazy diamonds she wore in Australia.
Desiree Krafczyk
Yeah.
Madison Keys
Right. Like, emeralds and, like, all stuff.
Desiree Krafczyk
I'm like, wow, she loves her diamonds.
Jenny Brady
Yeah.
Jess Pegula
She means she could technically be in a different tax bracket than the rest of us.
Desiree Krafczyk
1,000%.
Jenny Brady
She's definitely in a different tax bracket than me, so.
Jess Pegula
And me. Like, she's been number one for how many weeks? Like, how many bonuses has she just, like, cashed in on?
Jenny Brady
Yeah.
Desiree Krafczyk
So much.
Jenny Brady
Yeah.
Jess Pegula
She's won how many tournaments?
Madison Keys
Every turn, every week.
Jenny Brady
Which player would accidentally burn dinner and
Madison Keys
the kitchen because you're playing doubles with her? Jenny. I'm gonna say Katie McNally because she can't cook. She will laugh because we always have these. She said some things to me where she's had a lot of blonde moments, and we always joke about them, how she, like, just has These really funny blonde moments. So we used to joke a lot about certain, like, I don't know, whatever. They were examples that happen. So since you're playing devils with her, I'm gonna say she would totally, like, burn the kitchen down.
Jenny Brady
Wait, that's really funny.
Madison Keys
You have to tell her I said that.
Desiree Krafczyk
I will.
Madison Keys
She knows what I'm talking about. Like, I have to ask her about it tomorrow.
Jenny Brady
I'll get the scoop. It's time for the who am I? Of the week. Last week, we purposely skipped it due to time limitations. So sorry for everyone who is looking forward to my who am I? Desiree, would you like to share who your person was from the previous who am I?
Desiree Krafczyk
Okay, so my clues were reached at least the semifinals at all four Grand Slams and even won one. Grew up practicing in an empty swimming pool. And I'm under the same flag as the goat. And it was Anna Ivanovich.
Madison Keys
Got it.
Jenny Brady
Well, first of all, I didn't get that correctly. I actually guessed Novak, but. Okay, now onto my three clues. I took the college route before turning pro. No one pronounces my last name correctly. And I have a close family member that also plays at the highest level. Please drop your answer in the YouTube page. Or you could even comment on our most recent Instagram post. Okay, moving on to fan questions. First question from Sam. Hello. I love your podcast. My question is, what is your favorite tournament run that you didn't win, excluding Slams? This could be because of a home crowd, a good match, or good facilities at the tournament. Well, there's not a lot of tournaments that I've won, so.
Jess Pegula
Jenny loves Brisbane.
Jenny Brady
I do love Brisbane.
Desiree Krafczyk
She does.
Jenny Brady
Actually, Maria was like. She said something the other day and she was like, brisbane. And I was like, it's my favorite tournament. And she was like, it's so random. I do love that tournament.
Jess Pegula
One that pops into my head is Brisbane.
Jenny Brady
See, it's a great, great tournament.
Jess Pegula
Great tournament. Never won it.
Madison Keys
Yeah, maybe for me, Cincinnati lost in the finals. That was like part of a good run in general for me. But I liked doing well at a big tournament. I like Cincinnati.
Desiree Krafczyk
I think for me, Madrid. I love the courts there. And it was such a grind one year when we. I don't think Pam was our supervisor that year. She struggled, but we had to do back to back matches. Playing in two in two in one day, and it was just mentally draining. But made finals and, yeah, ended up liking that.
Jenny Brady
Next question from Julia. You guys have talked about rackets, but how personalized are your shoes? How different Are they from the same model fans can pick up in shops?
Jess Pegula
I currently wear a discontinued shoe. So it's the. It is not custom. You just can't buy it anymore.
Desiree Krafczyk
You just have.
Madison Keys
Which one is it?
Jess Pegula
The Vapor 10.
Jenny Brady
Oh, the OG best great tennis shoe.
Jess Pegula
I occasionally get like DMs being like, where did you find these? And I have stockpiles of my shoe still in the closet.
Madison Keys
Mine's the same. Although actually mine I think will be a discontinued shoe that I will continue to be wearing. But it's the same shoe that everyone buys online. I don't do any custom. I know some players do, but I don't.
Desiree Krafczyk
Yeah, mine's the same.
Jenny Brady
Yeah, same. I think actually my tongue is like not attached, but I'm not 100% sure.
Desiree Krafczyk
Oh my gosh.
Jenny Brady
I could be bluffing because I want to be different.
Desiree Krafczyk
No, the only time I have to personalize my shoe is when like my foot, I think there's like a. On the outside. I have to like cut like an X. That's my only personalization I have to do to give it more space because it's too narrow. But I like the specific shoe. Has anyone ever done that?
Jenny Brady
No. I have very narrow feet and the highest arches.
Desiree Krafczyk
Yeah, I have like my outside bone where my pinky toe is. I will like cut. Well, the physios will like cut an X just to give it some more space.
Jenny Brady
Okay, last question from Irina Braginski. Could you compare or contrast the vibes between Indian Wells and Miami beyond the humidity and traffic? Oh, well, she already answered the question for us.
Jess Pegula
Both are windy.
Madison Keys
Very windy.
Desiree Krafczyk
One's more rainy.
Jess Pegula
Typically Indian Wells is slower.
Desiree Krafczyk
We use the same ball now this year. And the courts in Miami are quicker and livelier.
Madison Keys
Indian Wells courts are grittier. The air is thinner. Yeah, Much drier. Can get very cold at night because it's the desert. I would say Miami is like literally the opposite of all the things.
Jess Pegula
How about the crowds?
Desiree Krafczyk
Like, vibe wise, it's good. People watching actually in Miami.
Jess Pegula
I mean, I feel like Indian Wells is very trendy country club tennis fan. It's like a lot of people that play in doubles leagues and they play a ton of tennis and I don't know, but it just kind of is very like Palm Springs, LA vibe. And then I feel like, I mean, Miami is South Florida.
Desiree Krafczyk
It's.
Jenny Brady
Yeah, it's not that.
Jess Pegula
The music that they were playing the other day, I was like on court, like trying to stop my body from dancing because I was bopping. We're in Miami.
Jenny Brady
Ultra.
Jess Pegula
Not Ultra.
