Jenny Brady
This is the Players Box.
Desiree Krakik
Hi everyone. Welcome back to the Players Box. I'm Desiree Krakik alongside Jenny Brady, Madison Keys and Jess Spagula. As always, a friendly reminder to please give our podcast five stars and subscribe on YouTube. We will recap our very successful week in Charleston and do a champions corner while we decide who would win the most outside of tennis. Plus, we will catch you up on what's next in the tennis calendar. But first, let's get into our unforced error of the week. Jenny, what you got for us?
Madison Keys
When I was flying home from Charleston, I was kind enough to take my mom's roller bag with me back to Florida and I put it in the overhead bin and it was a really tight squeeze. And when we landed and I was taking it out, I was yanking at it and it wouldn't budge. And then I just pulled really hard and I wasn't really like prepared for the bag to like come out that fast and it was pretty heavy. So I actually tripped on my own like two feet and fell back completely on my into the empty row behind me and the bag flew out of my hand and may have hit someone.
Jess Spagula
All of that just sounds so bad.
Madison Keys
Yeah, so I but I completely fell, like fell fully in the row behind me. Like I was that Life Alert commercial. I've fallen and I can't get up. So that was my unforced error. It was really embarrassing. And then I just kind of put my hood on and walked away slowly. Left the airport quickly.
Jess Spagula
Jesse, I don't know which one to pick. I have two pretty good ones, but I'll do the one that was more my fault. So I am planning on like renovating some of my house and I called the guy or actually I texted him yesterday on the drive back from Charleston. I said, hey, I'm so sorry, I've been mia, just like been really busy between obviously all the tournaments and stuff like that. But I didn't say anything. I kept it very vague. I just was like, hey, I've been really busy, sorry, would love to catch up you this week. Can I call you around this time tomorrow if that's okay. And he was like, yeah, great, sounds good. And so I called him today. Five minutes into the conversation, we're just like, oh yeah, like, where have you have you been? Like, just vague things. I realized I'm talking to the wrong person. It was not the guy that is supposed to be redoing my house. It is someone else from the tennis world. I won't say, like, I mean, it doesn't really matter about the names, but I won't say the name. And I was like, oh my God, this isn't the guy. Like, what am I doing? And I texted them yesterday. I like planned the call. It was the complete wrong person. And I was just like, I'm so embarrassed. I'm so sorry. But like, I thought you were somebody else. Like I called the wrong person. I thought you were the guy doing my house renovations. And I just completely like put my foot in my mouth and he was like totally fine because he was like just laughing at me, like, oh yeah, I think if we would have started talking about that, like I would have told you very quickly. Like, that's not me. But it was so bad. It was so embarrassing. So embarrassing. It was awful. And so I ended up calling the right person and he picked up and it was fine. But yeah, that was pretty bad.
Jenny Brady
There's nothing new on my part for my unforced air. It's like the most typical me thing ever. But I have somehow run into every single wall, burned my finger, like slammed it in a door, dropped something on my foot, smashed my like bent my fingernail backwards yesterday. I've been home for barely 24 hours and I've injured myself 15 times since I got home. And like every 20 minutes I'm like, ow. And Bjorn's like, what did you do now? And I'm like, nothing, I'm fine, leave me alone. And he's like, I genuinely don't understand how you're still alive. But yeah, nothing new. But like record setting injuries on my part does.
Desiree Krakik
My unforced error was my travel day after the finals. It was quite the travel day. So I left late out of Charleston and I had a connecting Flight through Dallas Fort Worth, and I'm ready already arriving late to go home, but leaving Dallas around like 10pm and we board the plane, everyone's boarded and we're ready to go. And they say, sorry guys, we have a maintenance issue. We're going to have to deplane everyone. So we're all like, okay, like that's fair. You know, we're not complaining. So then we get off the plane. Then they say, actually it's going to be a two hour wait till we find a new plane. So then everyone was like, ugh. Okay. So we waited for the plane, got on the plane, boarded everything again, leave the gate, we're waiting to take off and leave. And they go, hi, it's your captain here. The plane's a little overweight so we're gonna have to go back to the gate and see what's going on and see if we need to remove any bags or anything. And we were all like, you've got
Jess Spagula
to be kidding me.
Desiree Krakik
We're already delayed two hours and that was an extra hour added to it. So instead of getting home at midnight, I got home at 4:30 in the morning. It was, it was quite the travel day, but we made it.
Jess Spagula
So.
Desiree Krakik
Yeah, so that was my first error. Yeah, it wasn't fun. So I think that's why I've been up at like 4:30 in the morning because I'm just like on that schedule now.
Jess Spagula
Going to your early Pilates classes.
Desiree Krakik
Exactly.
Madison Keys
Oh my gosh.
Desiree Krakik
My cardio. All right, who won unforced error?
Jenny Brady
You did.
Jess Spagula
Wow.
Desiree Krakik
I feel like Jess is pretty.
Jess Spagula
Jenny's is also pretty bad. She hit some lady with a. Yeah, Jenny's. She fell on the plane.
Desiree Krakik
Jeez, Jenny, like, did anyone like say oh, like are okay or they're just like, oh, she's fine.
Madison Keys
She's.
Jess Spagula
No.
Madison Keys
I think I just got up so fast.
Desiree Krakik
Did your mom say, are you okay?
Jess Spagula
Did she help you?
Madison Keys
She wasn't on the plane.
Jess Spagula
Bag.
Madison Keys
Yeah, that's why I had her bag. It wasn't even my bag. It was hers.
Desiree Krakik
Tough.
Madison Keys
I blame her.
Jess Spagula
Wow.
Desiree Krakik
We got, we had some, some good unforce errors this week.
Jenny Brady
Spring is here. Weddings, tournaments, trips, and way more photos. And I realized if you wear glasses, you're wearing them in all of those moments. So if you don't love your frames, you feel it pretty quickly.
Desiree Krakik
Before Warby Parker, buying glasses always felt way more complicated than it should be. Like overpriced, hard to compare, and no real way to tell if something would actually look good on your face.
Madison Keys
That's why I'm obsessed with Warby Parker. They've made everything so much easier. Their virtual try on lets you see frames on your face in real time from your phone and it actually works.
Jenny Brady
I picked up a pair of matte black Durand frames as prescription sunglasses right before the trip and I felt way more confident wearing them. Got a bunch of compliments and they feel super high quality without being crazy expensive.
Jess Spagula
Their prescription glasses start at $95 so you're getting style and quality without overthinking it. Plus they've got contacts, eye exams, sunglasses, everything in one place and 300 plus stores. If you ever want to go in
Desiree Krakik

Jess Spagula
breakfast routine like with early morning practices? I don't have a ton of time to make a full meal.
Madison Keys
I just grab it on the way out the door and it's 35 grams of protein, 27 essential vitamins and minerals, no artificial sweeteners, colors or flavors. Gluten free and under $5 per meal. That's cheaper than a latte, but it fills me up and gives me what I need to start the day.
Desiree Krakik
I've also been loving the Black Edition powder. When I want something a little bit more filling, it's 40 grams of protein. Shake it with water and it's a full meal in under a minute.
Madison Keys
If you're trying to stay consistent on those busy days, this makes it incredibly easy.

Desiree Krakik
I love having protein in my diet, but it always seemed like a burden after a long day to go to the grocery store, find a recipe I liked and get home and cook. I usually just pick up whatever I find at the grocery store, not really considering the quality.
Jenny Brady
Then I was introduced to Omaha Steaks which was a game changer. It's incredibly convenient because they deliver high quality proteins straight to my door.
Madison Keys
I made the Filet mignon steak which was one of the best ones I've ever made at home, but I also got the chicken breast and burgers and everything I made tasted completely fresh. Everything is frozen at their moment of peak flavor, texture and quality. Each steak is naturally aged For a minimum of 28 days for maximum tenderness and complex flavor.

Jenny Brady
You guys may have lost with all of your unforced errors, but the players box had a winning week in Charleston. Round of applause everyone. DEZ and Jess, Charleston titles. Way to go, Des. You made finals last year.
Desiree Krakik
Yeah, I made finals last year. And then.
Jenny Brady
And then one this year. Yes. Jess goes back to back titles.
Jess Spagula
Woo woo.
Jenny Brady
We love that. But Jess, you broke your trophy from last year.
Jess Spagula
I did, Yes. I broke like actually wait, it's right here. How did we not hear about this broken one? The good one. I'm showing it right now.
Jenny Brady
The replacement.
Jess Spagula
Oh, the replacement trophy is here. I broke like the top part right here. So this wasn't like horrible, but it's still pretty bad. It was sitting on like a table and it was at the edge and I have no idea, like why this is just because I just don't. I don't know what's wrong with me. It's like on the edge of the table and I had a carry on suitcase opened underneath, like next to the table. And I was in the kitchen and I have no idea how. I think it was like balancing on something and I don't know why I didn't think like, this is a bad idea. I just kind of let it happen, but it fell off of the table onto the carry on suitcase. But thank God I had something in the carry on that was open or else it would have completely like shattered. So it's actually a miracle that the pointy part at the top is the only thing that broke. And I didn't really tell anybody until I got a new trophy and then I didn't feel as bad about it.
Desiree Krakik
Well, you do have a tendency of breaking glasses, so.
Jess Spagula
I've seen. I do. Des is here for a week and I broke like two or three.
Desiree Krakik
Like insane.
Jess Spagula
Yeah. So. But it's fine.
Jenny Brady
Okay. So Des hopefully stores her trophies in a more secure place than Jess.
Desiree Krakik
They are on the mantle. Except I will say my last year's trophy for getting second place is hidden in my bedroom. So it's like people who come over for friendsgiving only see like the first place trophies. So it's just over there.
Jess Spagula
But the finalist one is kind of cute, though, because it's just like a smaller version.
Desiree Krakik
Yeah, no, it's.
Jess Spagula
It.
Desiree Krakik
Honestly, those trophies are amazing.
Jess Spagula
Actually.
Desiree Krakik
I had one of our friends, Bikita, who you guys have all met, she's already trying to figure out a way to put, like, fake flowers in there, and she's, like, sending me, like, bouquets to style it, and I was like, oh, my gosh. But no, it's. They're. Yeah. Stored in a secure space.
Madison Keys
Well, you know, the trophies are like blown glass. Like someone. Yeah, yeah, I found that out last year.
Jess Spagula
I think the one this year is slightly different. There's like a black checkered part that I think is slightly different than last
Desiree Krakik
year because yours has a little bit of the purple and the yellow.
Jess Spagula
Yeah. Like the orange and the purple. And then there's like a black thing, like, woven in between them. But I don't think that was there last year. I think it's different.
Desiree Krakik
Win next year and see if it's different again.
Jenny Brady
Jenny, you also had some super fun times out on the court. You got to take down Jess and doubles.
Madison Keys
Yeah, I played Jess. First round of dubs.
Jenny Brady
Took her down. Yeah.
Madison Keys
Yeah.
Jenny Brady
Jess's singular L of the week.
Madison Keys
Yeah.
Desiree Krakik
Came from Jenny.
Jess Spagula
Yeah.
Madison Keys
Too bad we didn't have a. A bet or a. I know.
Desiree Krakik
Did you guys pick each other?
Jess Spagula
No. Oh.
Desiree Krakik
Seemed like one of you wanted to.
Jess Spagula
No.
Jenny Brady
I thought.
Jess Spagula
Well, I told Jenny we should, but we didn't.
Madison Keys
Yeah, we didn't. We didn't have anything. No. It was actually insane, like, crowd for that match. Bob said the tournament director said he had to put the match on underneath the tent on the tv so everyone could watch because not everyone could get into the court.
Jess Spagula
Yeah, it was wild. It was packed.
Madison Keys
Yeah. That's when my mom tried to get on.
Desiree Krakik
Yep.
Jess Spagula
Yeah.
Jenny Brady
I mean, I think we've all sung Charleston many, many praises, but it truly is, like, our favorite week and absolutely amazing of them to have equal prize money for the first time in a 500, which was incredible. And we're super proud to be long time fans of Charleston Open.
Madison Keys
Yeah. Best term of the year.
Jenny Brady
Best.
Desiree Krakik
Well, hang on. We also had to mention Maddie's also made semis there, so.
Madison Keys
Yes.
Desiree Krakik
Good week for Maddie as well.
Madison Keys
Great week.
Jenny Brady
Oh, yeah.
Desiree Krakik
Yeah.
Madison Keys
The vibes were there. Maddie was thriving.
Desiree Krakik
Everyone was thriving.
Madison Keys
Yeah. It was really fun. It's such a great tournament. Great vibes, good people. Can't wait to come back next year.
Jenny Brady
I feel like the weeks that are. They feel a little bit like Smaller and more intimate and they're a little bit calmer. So we actually got to see each other and hang out and kind of enjoy the tournament versus, I think, like, especially Indian Wells in Miami. There's so much extra going on that I feel like any extra moment is literally dedicated to all other things. So I always really like the Charleston week because it's like you actually get to hang out with your friends and
Desiree Krakik
go to dinner and do things just so easy.
Jess Spagula
Everything is just easier, quieter, calmer. Yeah. A lot more fun, for sure.
Jenny Brady
And what is next for everyone? I think. Well, most of us have a little bit of downtime. I don't know if anyone else can see, but DEZ is prepping and packing for her next trip already.
Desiree Krakik
Well, this is me still unpacking from Charleston. Um, but yeah, I'm heading out to. I'm playing Stuttgart. Um, so I leave in a couple days and probably gonna be on the road for a few months, so. In Europe. Yeah.
Jess Spagula
I can't believe we're going to Stuttgart.
Desiree Krakik
Oh, yeah.
Jess Spagula
Like, it's just so quick.
Desiree Krakik
Yeah, it is such a fast turnaround because how many weeks. How many weeks would you guys. Or days would you guys be home? You, Maddie and Jess are going to
Jess Spagula
Madrid to start with. Yeah. So I. I'm going to Madrid. I fly out the 17th, so next Friday night.
Desiree Krakik
Okay. And then you play. You guys would play a week before, a week later, right?
Jess Spagula
Possibly. Yeah.
Jenny Brady
Yeah.
Jess Spagula
Okay. First, ready?
Jenny Brady
Yeah, I'm leaving same day as Jess, so like 10ish days at home, which is gonna feel great because I'm already stressing about how to pack for seven to nine to 12 weeks on the road with lots of different temperatures.
Desiree Krakik
Yep.
Jess Spagula
Yeah.
Desiree Krakik
Jenny, where are you going?
Madison Keys
I actually leave on the 18th to Charlottesville. I was gonna say Charleston.
Desiree Krakik
You're going back? She loves it.
Madison Keys
Wishful, wishful thinking. To Charlottesville. So I'm gonna place 100Ks in the States.
Jess Spagula
Charlottesville is also really nice.
Madison Keys
Yeah, no, it is. It's really nice at the, at the Boar's Head club in. UVA. Yeah.
Desiree Krakik
Oh, that's where it is.
Sponsor Voice (Ross/Ross Dress for Less)
I actually.
Madison Keys
It's a nice little swing. It's there.
Jenny Brady
I'm gonna say I love that tournament.
Jess Spagula
Yeah.
Madison Keys
Yeah. Two and. And then Bonita Springs and then Indian Harbor.
Desiree Krakik
Two.
Jess Spagula
Really all nice.
Madison Keys
Yeah, really nice. Let's get into a little game here called the Champions Corner and ask questions to see who would win out of the four of us. So who wins a 100 meter dash?
Jenny Brady
When was the last time anyone else written yeah, Maddie.
Madison Keys
Like 600 meters.
Jess Spagula
Like, I. It's a quick sprint.
Madison Keys
Yeah, it's like a 13, 14 second thing. Hopefully.
Jess Spagula
That was very precise seconds.
Madison Keys
Maybe 16. I don't know. Back in the day when I was like, 13, I used to time myself. Who wins a free throw contest?
Jess Spagula
I'm actually not good at basketball.
Madison Keys
Jenny, maybe Jenny.
Desiree Krakik
She's got the tank and everything. She's ready to go.
Madison Keys
Oh, ready.
Desiree Krakik
She's got the guns out.
Madison Keys
Who wins a soccer penalty shootout? Not me.
Desiree Krakik
Jenny.
Madison Keys
Oh, no. I'm not good at soccer.
Jess Spagula
I'll say. Me. I played a little bit.
Madison Keys
Yeah, just played a little bit.
Jess Spagula
Okay.
Madison Keys
Who wins the swimming race?
Jenny Brady
Jenny.
Jess Spagula
Maddie. Not me.
Madison Keys
That's when I want. Say, Maddie, I want so bad. I don't think I will, but I want it, though.
Desiree Krakik
I kind of want to see this.
Jenny Brady
No, Jenny has the gear.
Madison Keys
No, no, I have everything.
Jenny Brady
She's in the water the most. She wants to be the next Katie Ledecky. Like.
Madison Keys
Yeah, she's my idol.
Desiree Krakik
Do you remember the video when you did a TikTok the with your goggles?
Madison Keys
Yeah.
Desiree Krakik
I literally.
Jenny Brady
I literally was like, jenny, this needs to go on the Internet.
Madison Keys
Yeah, it's so good.
Desiree Krakik
We'll have to show. We'll have to show people.
Madison Keys
Yeah. Yeah. It took me literally, like, three minutes to make that tick tock. It was my best work. I was supposed to be swimming. Who has the best overall athleticism? Outside tennis, I feel like we're all pretty athletic. I think we're all athletic. I can play pretty much every sport.
Desiree Krakik
Competition. I'll try my best.
Jess Spagula
Right? We're all like ourselves.
Madison Keys
Yeah. Ourselves. Myself. Me.
Jess Spagula
Me.
Jenny Brady
I jump really high.
Madison Keys
Who wins a dance battle?
Jess Spagula
Ooh. Dez.
Madison Keys
Because she wants to be on Dancing with the Stars.
Desiree Krakik
Yeah.
Jess Spagula
So true.
Jenny Brady
I'm ready.
Madison Keys
Who lasts the longest in a plank?
Jess Spagula
Oh, we should do that.
Madison Keys
Yeah, we should.
Jenny Brady
I was gonna say Jess or Jenny just because they're so competitive.
Madison Keys
Yeah. I would go until my body shuts
Jess Spagula
down, but does with the Pilates, though?
Madison Keys
Yeah, yeah, I can do. I just did, you know, Pilates, and my whole body was shaking. I looked at the. The instructor was like, oh, my God, you're a beast. Who would dominate a ninja warrior course? That's like, strictly grip strength. Upper body.
Jess Spagula
That's like, a lot of strength. I feel like I don't have.
Jenny Brady
I think.
Desiree Krakik
I think like Maddie or Jenny.
Jess Spagula
Yeah, I would say maybe Jenny.
Jenny Brady
Yeah, Jenny. Jenny's got pipes.
Desiree Krakik
You're showing that. You're showing the biceps.
Jenny Brady
Look at those shoulders.
Jess Spagula
She looks like she's ready for warrior.
Madison Keys
Who wins?
Desiree Krakik
Yeah.
Madison Keys
Who wins a push up contest?
Jess Spagula
Nope. Not me.
Desiree Krakik
Nope.
Jess Spagula
Terrible.
Jenny Brady
Not me.
Madison Keys
I guess me. Strength. Good thing we're not asking about lower body strength.
Jess Spagula
How many. Wait, how many can you do?
Madison Keys
Oh, not many. Like, enough to beat you guys.
Desiree Krakik
I can do, like, eight.
Jenny Brady
Perfect.
Desiree Krakik
Like, push ups.
Madison Keys
That's, like, good to be good.
Jess Spagula
Like, I can maybe do 10. Maybe do 10.
Madison Keys
Less than 22 wrist surgeries.
Jenny Brady
I'm at, like, two push ups.
Madison Keys
Who has the worst coordination? I'm pretty uncoordinated.
Jess Spagula
You're not coordinated.
Desiree Krakik
You have to. You play tennis.
Madison Keys
Yeah, but I can play tennis. But, like, doing things with my upper body and lower body or like, something with my mind and my. I don't know. I mean, I just fell on the plane taking a bag out of the.
Desiree Krakik
That's true. We'll put you, Jenny.
Jess Spagula
So we vote you the most uncoordinated.
Madison Keys
Who could pull the most dates in one week?
Desiree Krakik
Des.
Madison Keys
Ooh.
Jess Spagula
Des does. Because she'd be looking fire. Like, she'd be looking.
Desiree Krakik
You guys answered so quickly. Thanks.
Madison Keys
Well, because you're so outgoing and bubbly.
Jess Spagula
Yeah. Oh, the hair would be done. The makeup would be, like, cute outfit. You'd have all the outfits, like, planned and ready.
Jenny Brady
The makeup, when she comes on and she's like. It only took me a minute. Doesn't it look so good?
Jess Spagula
I just had this in my bag.
Desiree Krakik
I just woke up like this.
Madison Keys
Who navigates a foreign city best?
Jess Spagula
Des does.
Desiree Krakik
I can do a good job with that.
Madison Keys
She's the only one who navigates. Yeah.
Jess Spagula
Yeah.
Desiree Krakik
Google actually go anywhere. Yeah. Except escape rooms.
Madison Keys
Who would miss a flight first? Ooh, me, Des or Jess.
Jess Spagula
I've never missed a flight, but it could be me. It's definitely not Maddie or Jenny.
Madison Keys
No.
Jess Spagula
So I think it's between me and.
Jenny Brady
Yeah, no, Jenny and I are early.
Madison Keys
Yeah. Yeah. Like, I'm like, you're so.
Desiree Krakik
You're. You're the people that, like, kind of walk to the gate to make sure it's there, and then you're kind of like.
Madison Keys
And then I'm like, okay, I'm gonna go get snacks.
Jess Spagula
Yeah.
Jenny Brady
Well, yeah, you have to make sure that the gate is there.
Desiree Krakik
That's true. But then you also go on the app, and it says, oh, gate change. So you go to the next gate, and you got to make sure that's, you know, the.
Madison Keys
Right.
Jess Spagula
Yeah.
Madison Keys
I got three gate changes with spirit on my way to Charleston.
Desiree Krakik
Oh, no, not Spirit.
Madison Keys
Yeah, it was tough. Who packs the smartest?
Jess Spagula
Maybe Maddie.
Madison Keys
Yeah. I Think, Maddie. I think I just don't bring a lot of things.
Desiree Krakik
I feel like you're, like, practical Jenny.
Jess Spagula
She don't overpack.
Desiree Krakik
Minimalist.
Madison Keys
Yeah, Minimalist.
Jess Spagula
Yeah.
Desiree Krakik
But if I need, like, a red light or something, I. I'm going to Maddie.
Jenny Brady
Yeah.
Jess Spagula
Maddie probably packs the most prepared.
Desiree Krakik
Like, I had a pimple the other day, and she's like, oh, hang on. Let me just get it out of my Hermione Granger bag. Let me just. Oh, here you go. And it's gone. Literally gone. It was perfect.
Jenny Brady
Always prepared.
Desiree Krakik
Yep.
Madison Keys
Who would get scammed?
Jess Spagula
Destination dez. I would say Des would get scammed for sure.
Jenny Brady
I have a story.
Desiree Krakik
Yeah. So I was in Tokyo one year, and did you hear about this?
Madison Keys
No.
Jess Spagula
No, I'm just picturing you getting scammed.
Desiree Krakik
So we were in Tokyo, and I was with Juliana almost, and we wanted to go see the sumo wrestling in Tokyo. And, you know, we were like, let's go. So we were googling everything and making sure we weren't going onto a scam website. And there's this website called Via a Go Go or something. I don't know if you guys have heard of it, but it's a scam, so don't go on there. And we looked up tickets. We bought tickets, but we spent, like, 50 bucks each, and we were so excited to go. So we went to the tip to print out our tickets. You had to go to a 7 11. You input this code, it prints it out for you. So we went to probably, like, eight different seven elevens because it wasn't working. And we're like, that's so weird. So we go to the actual venue, and we're like, hi. Like, we've been trying to get our tickets printed, but, like, here's our reservation. We. It's just not working. And she goes, this website via Go Go. No, no. Like, it's not good. And we were like, what do you mean? And she's like, this is a scam. And I was like. And there were actually a few other players that actually were coming to that same event too. And we're like, yep, sorry, guys, it's a scam. Like, you guys booked it on the same website. It's a scam. So, yeah, I have a confirmation that I could get scammed.
Jess Spagula
But, yeah, here we go.
Madison Keys
Who would survive a backpacking trip best, Jenny?
Jess Spagula
I would say, yeah, probably you, Jenny. I would also say myself, but I
Desiree Krakik
think you like camping backpack on me.
Jess Spagula
Definitely not Maddie.
Madison Keys
Maddie wouldn't even have enough to put her skincare Routine in the backpack, Maddie
Jess Spagula
be hiking with, like, her mask on.
Jenny Brady
My LED mask, my LED hat, my
Jess Spagula
panel above me, the carrying panel, the pillow with, like a vacuum sealed, like, clothes hanging.
Desiree Krakik
It's hanging on the. On her side of her backpack. The. The Coop pillow.
Jess Spagula
Yeah, it's a coffee machine, like, in one hand. Oh, no.
Madison Keys
Yeah, Like I would do instant coffee.
Jess Spagula
I mean, we were talking about how you're a minimalist. I feel like you would probably be the backpacker. You would win.
Madison Keys
Yeah, I'm just very low key. Until I'm not.
Jess Spagula
Until you're particular.
Desiree Krakik
You've heard us talk about One Skin before, and honestly, whether you're the kind of person who's constantly trying every new skincare thing that drops or. Or you've been loyal to the same two products for years, I feel like everyone hits that point where you look in the mirror and you're like, wait, my skin's just not doing what it used to do. That's really what One Skin changed for me. It wasn't just like, oh, this is a nice moisturizer. It actually works differently than anything else I've tried.
Madison Keys
Because what's interesting is as we age, some of our skin cells basically stop functioning the way they should. Scientists actually call them zombie cells, which is unsettling, but also kind of makes sense. And those are what drive a lot of the stuff. We start noticing fine lines, loss of firmness, that dullness that kind of sneaks up on you.
Jess Spagula
And One Skin's OS1 peptide is specifically designed to target that. So you're still getting everything you want from good skincare. Hydration, smoother texture. But it's also doing something most skincare just isn't built to do.
Desiree Krakik
For me, I've been using OS1 serum, and the first thing I've noticed was how it feels. It's super lightweight, not greasy at all. But it's. But over time, what really stood out is how much more even and just healthier my skin looks. And I've tried a lot of skincare, so I don't say that lightly. This is one of the few things that actually stuck with my routine.
Madison Keys
I even got my friend to try it, and now they're fully on board too, which kind of says everything. And it's not just me. One Skin has four peer reviewed clinical studies, over 10,000 five star reviews, and they've even been recognized by Bloomberg as a leader in skin longevity.
Jess Spagula
Born from over a decade of longevity research, OneSkin's OS1 peptide is proven to target the visible signs of aging helping you unlock your healthiest skin now. And as you age. All right, well we're going to move on and play a little hot seat roulette. So we are going to pick a person, put them in the hot seat and we are going to rapid fire some questions and you must answer immediately or you have to take an embarrassing dare. So we'll do I think five questions each. So, Jenny, we'll start with you. I'll ask the first question. Are you ready?
Desiree Krakik
I'm sweating for you.
Sponsor Voice (Ross/Ross Dress for Less)
Me too.
Jess Spagula
This one's not. Oh, yeah.
Desiree Krakik
I get to choose a way out.
Jenny Brady
You get to pick whatever.
Jess Spagula
I was just gonna go in order.
Madison Keys
No, you get to pick what's.
Jess Spagula
Something you've never admitted publicly.
Madison Keys
I guess I'll do the dare. I'll take the dare on that one.
Jess Spagula
Okay, wait, let me pick a dare. You have to. What was it? The. Read your last five texts out loud.
Madison Keys
My last five texts? Specifically Vine. Okay.
Jess Spagula
Yes.
Madison Keys
Home in four minutes, me up.
Jenny Brady
Oh, wait, that was to me.
Madison Keys
Yeah, can't be too sweet either. Ew. And consistency. And the color.
Jess Spagula
Oh, this is very like people cryptic here. I actually know what you're talking about, but this could be taken very weirdly. Food.
Jenny Brady
You're talking about food.
Jess Spagula
Yes.
Jenny Brady
A habit you'd be embarrassed for fans to know.
Madison Keys
I'll eat the same thing for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If I'm winning in a tournament, every
Jenny Brady
meal is the exact same.
Madison Keys
Yeah.
Desiree Krakik
Last thing that made you genuinely jealous
Madison Keys
when Jesse DEZ and Maddie did the first serve cocktail taste test without me in Charles Hall.
Jess Spagula
That is very true.
Jenny Brady
That's so sad. What?
Jess Spagula
That is true. You were like, wait, I'm not in it. I'm not in the snack hall. I'm not in this. What actually stresses you out the most?
Madison Keys
Tennis.
Jenny Brady
Like, yeah, valid.
Jess Spagula
Yeah, that's fair. Pass.
Jenny Brady
Who's overrated right now?
Madison Keys
Dwayne the Rock Johnson.
Desiree Krakik
Oh, that's quite the hot take.
Jenny Brady
So random.
Madison Keys
I think he's so overrated in general.
Desiree Krakik
Let's hear it.
Madison Keys
He's not a good actor and he's in a bunch of movies.
Jess Spagula
He's like the highest paid actor probably, right? He was for a while.
Madison Keys
He's not good.
Jenny Brady
I will say he was very good in Moana 1 and 2.
Madison Keys
Oh, I didn't see those.
Desiree Krakik
I actually liked him in Jumanji.
Jenny Brady
Okay, Jenny, pick who's next.
Madison Keys
Okay, Des, you're next. Most overrated thing about yourself.
Jess Spagula
Dare.
Jenny Brady
Oh, wow, she's into it.
Madison Keys
Okay, dare reveal your most recent search history.
Desiree Krakik
I asked ChatGPT to help me with a caption from my last post, which was Charleston. 10 out of 10 with emojis.
Madison Keys
Wow, Real original.
Desiree Krakik
Yeah.
Jenny Brady
City you'd never go back to.
Desiree Krakik
Cleveland.
Jenny Brady
Sorry, that. Any Cleveland listeners out there?
Desiree Krakik
Oh, well, sorry, Cleveland Clevelanders.
Jess Spagula
Last person you stalked online insta360.
Desiree Krakik
Don't ask me why, just looked it up. It's not a Person, but it's a thing.
Jess Spagula
That's not that question, though. The last person you stalked. Who's the last person you stalked? Not recent search history.
Desiree Krakik
Oh, last person I stalked. Paige Lorenzi.
Jess Spagula
Lorenzi.
Jenny Brady
You mean Paige Lorenz. Sorry.
Desiree Krakik
Sorry. Paige Lorenz. Sorry.
Jenny Brady
If you. You're gonna stalk someone, at least, you
Madison Keys
better at least learn how to say their name correctly.
Jess Spagula
Shout out, dairy boy.
Madison Keys
If you weren't playing tennis, what would you actually be doing?
Desiree Krakik
School teacher.
Jess Spagula
Oh, I could see that.
Jenny Brady
Grossest thing you've done while traveling.
Desiree Krakik
Use my phone in the bathroom.
Jess Spagula
I don't know. That's kind of gross.
Madison Keys
Yeah.
Jenny Brady
That's kind of gross.
Madison Keys
Yeah.
Jess Spagula
Yeah. All right, you pick next person. Hot seat, Jesse. Okay, I'm ready.
Desiree Krakik
Who do you not want to see across the net first round?
Jess Spagula
Like, could be anybody or, like, ego wtaeros.
Jenny Brady
I'm just gonna say, yeah,
Madison Keys
Next last thing you cried about.
Jess Spagula
I'm not a big crier. I don't know. Last thing I cried about, probably about my dog. I don't cry a lot, but, like, if I think about, like, any of my dogs that have died, I can, like, instant just ball if I see something of them. Not to be, like, a downer, but
Jenny Brady
something you're currently overthinking.
Jess Spagula
Well, we just talked about it. Where I'm packing to Europe. I went and I bought, like, so much stuff online on the drive back from Charleston. And then I got home, and I was like, where are all these clothes gonna go? I need to clean out my whole closet. And so now I'm cleaning out my closet, and now I'm in just this bad. It's a bad spiral right now with my clothes in my closet and packing to Europe.
Jenny Brady
I literally just did the same thing
Jess Spagula
today, like, with spiraling yesterday. It was so stupid, but it was really freaking out.
Desiree Krakik
A habit you'd be embarrassed for fans to know.
Jess Spagula
I don't shower after practices before my matches. I hate showering in between because I get sweaty from my shower, and then I have to put on my match clothes, and I get stuck in this, like, sweat, clean shower. So, like, I almost never. I mean, sometimes I do if it's, like, really hot, but, like, I can't. I can't put my clothes back on. Like, my mattress.
Jenny Brady
Did you just. Did you just say you sweat from your shower? Like, as in, like, you haven't cooled? Like, when you go.
Jess Spagula
Yeah, like, I don't cool down. And then I get like. So if I do, it has to be, like, a super, super cold shower, which I don't always love to do so. I, like, actually don't really shower after, like, the 30 minute warm up. If I do, like a practice, I shower, but I have to always shower.
Madison Keys
I'm appalled.
Jess Spagula
But don't you guys do that? Like, you start.
Madison Keys
No, I shower. Yeah.
Desiree Krakik
No, I don't shower. Yeah.
Jess Spagula
And then I can't, like, cool down. And then I'm just, like, sitting there, like, waiting to cool down to put on my match clothes. If I do it too soon, then I get, like. Then I start sweating through my match clothes. I just. I don't enjoy it.
Madison Keys
What's something you've never admitted publicly?
Jess Spagula
Yeah, I don't know. I'll take a dare.
Desiree Krakik
Send a flirty voice note to someone of the group's choosing.
Madison Keys
What?
Desiree Krakik
I choose you to send a flirty voice note to Taylor. Your husband Taylor.
Madison Keys
Yeah,
Desiree Krakik
duh.
Jess Spagula
So I have to do this right now?
Jenny Brady
Yes. Yes.
Desiree Krakik
While he's in the next room. He's gonna be.
Jenny Brady
What the hell is wrong with you?
Madison Keys
He's gonna love it.
Desiree Krakik
Hey there, pretty boy.
Jess Spagula
Hi, honey. I love you so much. I can't wait to see you when you get home from the gym. Okay, bye. Love you. Okay, I'm sending it.
Desiree Krakik
Is he gonna be like, wait, what?
Jess Spagula
He's literally gonna be like, what the was that?
Madison Keys
He's gonna know.
Jess Spagula
I tried to make it sound flirty, like, hi, you got home from the gym all sweaty. I should have put that in resend it. All sweaty. We should have done that one for Jenny.
Jenny Brady
Perfect.
Madison Keys
Yeah.
Desiree Krakik
That was on you, Jess.
Jess Spagula
Yeah, I should have done that one. Okay, Maddie, a moment. You felt imposter syndrome.
Jenny Brady
Honestly, it's like, anytime I'm in a press conference and people are, like, asking me these, like, profound questions, and I, like, say something, and everyone's like, nodding their heads back as if it makes a lot of sense. Sometimes I'm like, I hope that landed.
Madison Keys
Who would you not trust with a secret?
Jenny Brady
My sister.
Madison Keys
Damn.
Jess Spagula
I was gonna say sister.
Jenny Brady
Sorry.
Desiree Krakik
Have you ever argued with airline staff?
Jenny Brady
Yes. I got in a heated argument in the.
Desiree Krakik
She's heated.
Jenny Brady
Was it like Sydney airport one year because I was flying home from Australia and I. It was when I used gut in my racket and I had so much and I carried it on and they took like, they confiscated it. And I was, like, fighting with them. I was like, this is thousands of dollars. You're scam artist. Like, you're. Are you gonna sell it online? And someone had to, like, be like, they can't arrest you. And I was like, yeah, you're right. I do want to go home. Sorry.
Jess Spagula
My bad. Most embarrassing thing that's happened. Mid match.
Jenny Brady
When I was playing IGA in the semifinals of the Australian Open, I had an overhead literally on top of the net for game point, and I somehow missed it into the bottom of the net. Like, I physically don't know how I was able to hit it. Straight down in front of me, and the whole crowd was like. It was like. I was like, oh, my God, how did I miss that? But then I had to play it off because I had another game point, and I had to be like, yeah, it's totally fine. It's like, no big deal. And I just, like, went back up to the line and was like, I swear to God, if I lose this point and somehow lose the game because I missed the easiest overhead in all of history, I will have nightmares for months.
Desiree Krakik
Okay. A city you'd never go back to,
Jess Spagula
Troy, Alabama, would you play the challenger there?
Jenny Brady
Sure did.
Jess Spagula
I don't know why else you would be in Troy, Alabama, but I was just trying to verify.
Jenny Brady
When was this? Gosh, years and years ago. Shelby and I were rooming together, and there was one Mexican restaurant, a Piggly Wiggly, a Ruby Tuesdays where everyone got food poisoning, and, like, a Zaxby's that was.
Desiree Krakik
And a Dairy Queen, and that was
Jenny Brady
the only food options in the whole place.
Madison Keys
How about that Zaxby's sauce, though?
Jess Spagula
Zaxby's is so good.
Desiree Krakik
Never been to Zaxby's.
Madison Keys
Yeah, me either. My sister loves it.
Desiree Krakik
Oh,
Jess Spagula
Should we move on to who Am I? Yeah, I will repeat my clues from last week, but. But it was. She won a junior U.S. open singles title. She is known for her water bottle, and she once said she listened to Mozart before a match because Rafa Nadal did. My answer was Marie Buskova. Jenny got it right away, but I couldn't verify it because I didn't want everyone else to know. Maddie eventually got it. I got IGA a couple times. Des, did you ever.
Madison Keys
I said she guessed iga, I think.
Desiree Krakik
Yeah.
Jess Spagula
Is EA known for her water bottle? Why did everyone guess iga?
Madison Keys
No, but probably because of Rafa.
Jess Spagula
Oh, cuz she lines up the water bottles.
Madison Keys
Marie has, like, the giant, like, gallery jug. Yeah.
Jess Spagula
And she has, like, stickers on it. And it became like this thing at one point where she always had her water bottle with her. And, like, she would take pictures with her giant water bottle.
Madison Keys
Cute.
Jenny Brady
Okay. My three clues of the week are born in the US but represents another country. Saved match points on the way to their biggest title. And one junior, Roland Garros.
Madison Keys
We'll let that one sit. Let's move on to some fan questions. First question from Alex. My question is, I play 12 and unders junior tennis and I have long hair. I always have trouble keeping my hair wispies from forming when I put my hair up during tournaments. What products or solutions do you have for keeping your hair so perfect during long matches? And bonus question. Who do you think has the best competition hair in the WTA? I nominate Sakkari. Let me tell you about wispies. I get those flyaways too. And the product dae, it's a wand styling wand and it helps hold back the wispies. But usually I just tuck my wispies into my visor.
Jess Spagula
Same.
Madison Keys
Yeah.
Jess Spagula
Or lots of hairspray or hair gel.
Madison Keys
Hairspray.
Sponsor Voice (Carrington College)
Hair gel.
Madison Keys
I used to use mousse.
Jenny Brady
There's like a bed head. It's like a stick and it. You like, can just go over your hair.
Desiree Krakik
And it wax.
Jenny Brady
Really? It's like a wax, but it comes in like a push tube stick kind of. And they use that. I get that used on me a lot when I'm doing photo shoots and stuff. But I always. I play in a hat and just shove all the frizzies into my hat.
Desiree Krakik
Yeah, I usually play with the visor, but sometimes like my baby hairs at the bottom of my neck, like, kind of like fly away. So usually the wax or bobby pins work for me, but I always play in a bun because I can't have any hair touching the back of me. And sweaty.
Jess Spagula
I don't like it.
Madison Keys
Same. Yeah, same.
Jenny Brady
I. Oh, and for the bonus question, Maria has like the most perfect tennis hair.
Jess Spagula
Yeah.
Madison Keys
No one's gonna be the competition hair.
Desiree Krakik
Maria Bun is not.
Madison Keys
Maria wins. Maria wins. But she doesn't even use a visor or a hat.
Jenny Brady
Perfect. It's like the perfect highlights and everything from the sun.
Madison Keys
Yep. Yeah.
Desiree Krakik
She's never dyed her hair. It's only from the sun.
Madison Keys
She said, yeah, Maria, you're perfect.
Jenny Brady
Oh, we love you.
Jess Spagula
Yeah, we're obsessed.
Madison Keys
Next question from Sapna. Does it feel different playing when the stands are empty versus full vibe versus no vibe or doesn't matter.
Jenny Brady
As a player, the crowd definitely helps.
Madison Keys
I mean, it's nice to play in front of a crowd, that's for sure.
Jess Spagula
That's the most, like, fun part.
Jenny Brady
Yeah, it's like a more enjoyable environment. But I don't think it changes like the internal part of playing tennis.
Desiree Krakik
Obviously doubles doesn't draw as much of a crowd as, like, singles players. But when we do get fans, it's actually, it's very enjoyable. But even so, like, I think we're so used to not having fans that we're.
Madison Keys
It's. It's.
Desiree Krakik
No, it's not. We're unfazed.
Jess Spagula
Yeah. It's like, it's the same goal. Yeah. At the end of the day, but I think the crowd can definitely play a part, though. Like, if you're nervous, too, or if someone isn't used to playing in front of a crowd, you can definitely get a little psyched out. Like, walking out onto a bigger stadium with a lot of people, you're like, oh, like, I'm not used to people commenting going, ooh, ah.
Desiree Krakik
Yeah. But it also benefits you if you're playing in your home tournament or somewhere. Like, oh, yeah, I think you mentioned it in Charleston. You said, like, the crowd kind of got me through it. And it helps you. I mean, yeah, like, I don't want
Jess Spagula
to let you guys down. I'm so tired. But like, okay. Yeah, you know, they, like, they definitely keep you going.
Desiree Krakik
Yeah.
Jenny Brady
Yeah.
Madison Keys
Okay. Last question from Rachel. Wondering what podcasts you like listening to. Both tennis and absolutely nothing to do with tennis.
Jess Spagula
I don't listen to one podcast. I don't even really listen to our own Giggly Squad.
Madison Keys
Giggly Squad. I, every now and then, depending on who the guest is, will listen to Call Her Daddy. Same, but that's for the guest. And also Trading Secrets.
Desiree Krakik
I do like, yeah, I'm not religiously listening to one, but Call Her Daddy and the Diary of a CEO. Some of those are actually pretty interesting.
Jess Spagula
Oh, I listen to Crime Junkie. I haven't recently, but I sometimes on car rides.
Madison Keys
So no one listens to nothing major.
Jess Spagula
I just see the social media clips.
Jenny Brady
I follow them on socials.
Desiree Krakik
Yeah, give them a follow.
