This is the Players Box.
D
Hey, everyone. Welcome back to another episode of the Players Box. I'm Desiree Krafczyk alongside Jenny Brady, Madison Keys and Jess Spagula. As always, a friendly reminder to please give our podcast five stars and subscribe on on YouTube. On today's episode, we're going to talk about the latest tennis headlines and maybe do a little bit of spring cleaning. But first, let's get into our unforced errors of the week. Maddie.
B
I don't even want to go with the most obvious one because I had a really good unforced error up until like, a day and a half ago, and I was all excited and I wrote it down in my notes because I was like, this is so good. I have to tell everyone, so I'm gonna go with that one Anyways. And I was practicing with Maria Sakhari the other day and playing points, and she missed a serve, but it went off of the line and I went to, like, block it back to her, and I shanked it and hit myself in the face with the ball.
A
Ouch.
B
And then I got food poisoning the night before my first round.
C
Yeah, tough.
B
Yeah.
A
I think Maddie already wins, but lots
B
of Ls over here. Jenny.
C
The other day, I was getting in the shower, and the towel bar is inside the shower. And so I was pulling the curtain back and I went to step in and my head literally just rammed right into the towel bar. Yeah, in the shower, but there's not much going on in there, so.
D
Concussion test.
C
No, it was me versus the towel bar, and I won. Yeah.
A
Concussion.
C
Concussion protocol. My poor little hamster. He had a little earthquake in there. Jess.
A
Oh, dez, you go. I'm still thinking of mine.
D
Well, mine just happened a couple hours ago. I switched Hotels. And I gave him the room number that they gave me. I checked in earlier, so they said, your room's not ready yet. Here's the key. We'll have to change it anyways. But I went to the front desk and I gave them the room number. Go up to the room, there's two people already in there. And they're like, what? And I was like, oh, my God, I'm so sorry. I thought this was my room, and basically walked in on two people. One person was sleeping, the other one was getting dressed, and I was like, I'm so sorry. So I went back downstairs and I was like, hi, you guys gave me the wrong key. Or. I don't know what happened, but it's not my room. So I don't know if that's really my unforced error or the hotel's unforced error, but.
C
Or the people staying in the room. Yeah.
D
So I went back downstairs and I said, you probably should have asked for my ID first before handing me the key, because they didn't even ask for my id.
C
Oh.
D
But I end up getting a different room, so it's fine. It wasn't my room. They gave me a different key. So.
C
Hotel Chicharone?
D
No, the Intercontinental, but yeah. Jess, do you have your unforced.
A
I guess. I guess I'll say it was the other day when my driver was, like, almost an hour late to pick me up, so that was nice. So I was, like, walking around Madrid. I'm kind of in, like, a really busy area, and so it's very difficult. So I was trying. And, like, there's a language barrier to explain how they can't make a left turn when they come from the one way into my hotel. So they have to, like, wrap around, but sometimes they, like, freak out and they don't know what to do. And then, like, you can't really pull over because it's like a bus taxi lane, so they won't make a left turn. They won't turn around. I've had some driving issues. I think that's my unforced error. Also, back. Coming back from the hotel, it was the same thing. They couldn't figure out how to turn into my hotel. And I literally told the guy, I was like, like, you could just make. I was talking to him a lot, so we were, like, being really friendly. I was like, oh, you can just, like, make a left. He's like, no, no, no, no, no, no. I was like, why can't we make a left? He's like, no, no, you can't make a left here. And he like turns, goes all the way down the street. And I'm like, dude, dude. Like, the hotel's that way. Like, we need to figure out how to turn around. And there was like this one street he turned down and all he had to do was like, pop a ue. Like it wasn't really where you're supposed to make a U turn, but there was nobody on the street. And I was like, oh, come on. Just like, you can just make a U turn right here. And he was like, like, no, no, no, the police will be all over me. And I was like, oh, come on. Like in America we just make a U turn. And he was like, no, no, no, I must go this way and turn around. And I was like, oh. Oh my God, my guy. We need to go left and we need to get on the other side of the street for you to make a right. Like, I was like, how do we make this happen faster? So I've had quite a few actually, now that I think about it. Some driving issues this week. And then, you know, the language barrier makes it a little tough. So my. That was my airport drop off and then the late pickup the other day I walked to Maddie's hotel because I thought maybe it was an easier pickup location calling. Yeah, it was just. It becomes a stressful situation.
D
And the electric cars, that stuff.
A
Yeah, the electric car. Car sick that you get.
C
Situation.
D
Yeah. Well, I think we can all agree that Maddie definitely won this weeks double whammy.
A
We had some good ones. Does was pretty bad.
C
Yeah, that was pretty bad.
D
It's not chicharone or whatever.
C
Yeah, it's not Rome, but.
A
Congratulations, Maddie. I'm sure you're thrilled to win Unforced.
D
Arabella, this is your win for the week.
B
What an awesome win for me this week.
D
It's. It's the little wins, you know, the little wins. Are you someone who gets 30 minutes to cook or 30 seconds?
A
Be honest, because I'm firmly in the 30 seconds camp. If it's not instant, it's not happening same.
D
Which is why anything high protein that's actually convenient feels like a win right now.
C
That's exactly why I've been keeping Huell black edition ready to drink around. It saves me on mornings when I'm running out the door, or even between practice and gym sessions when I realize I haven't eaten.
B
And it's actually a complete meal, not just a snack. With 35 grams of protein, 27 essential vitamins and minerals, it keeps you full
C
I've been drinking the vanilla lately and it's honestly delish. Not overly sweet, just easy to have every day without getting tired of it.
D
Plus no artificial sweeteners, colors or flavors, which I appreciate. And it's gluten free and it comes
A
out to under $5ameal, which is kind of wild for something this convenient.
D
It just makes staying consistent way easier when you've already got something ready to go.
B
And then when I'm home and actually want something a little more filling, I switch to the black addition powder.
C
Yeah, that's when you can actually build it how you want. For instance, I'll blend it with ice, banana and peanut butter and it literally tastes like a thick milkshake.
A
Same high protein, same complete meal benefits, just more customizable depending on what you're craving.
C
So it's basically ready to drink when you're sprinting through your day. Powder when you're home, Want to control the texture or ingredients or just something a little more dialed in?
B
Either way, you're hitting your protein goals without having to cook, which is the real win.
D
If your schedule is all over the place but you're still trying to stay consistent, this combo just makes it stupidly easy.

B
I've been doing a little spring reset in my bedroom lately, starting with my bedding and I did not realize how much of a difference that it would make.
A
It's actually wild. Think it's just sheets and then suddenly you upgrade and you're like, wait, why does this feel like a hotel?
B
Exactly. I got mine from Quint and now getting into bed is fully my favorite part of every day.
D
What did you guys go with?
B
I got the European linen duvet and sheets and I'm not kidding, they somehow get softer after every time I wash them. They feel really substantial but super breathable.
A
I'm more of a cotton person, so I got their organic cotton set and it's insanely soft. Like cool and comfortable but still cozy.
C
Okay, but how about their silk stuff? The mulberry silk pillowcase is a game changer. My hair is way less chaotic in the morning and my skin doesn't feel as dry.
D
And they've got everything too. Duvet covers, comforters, all in those soft spring colors and patterns that just make your room feel reset.
B
The craziest part is it feels like luxury hotel bedding, but it's literally 50 to 60% less than what you'd expect to pay.
A
Yeah, I actually double checked the price because I didn't believe it at first.
C
It's because they work directly with manufacturers so you're not paying that huge retail markup.
D
So you're basically upgrading your whole bed without it feeling like a huge splurge.
B
If you're in that spring reset mindset and want your space to feel a little more elevated, this is such an easy upgrade.
A
Upgrade your bedding with quince. Go to quince.com playersbox for free shipping and 365 day returns. Now available in Canada too. Go to quincom playersbox for free shipping and 360 five day returns. Quince.com playersbox I love having protein in
D
my diet, but it always seemed like a burden after a long day to go to the grocery store, find a recipe I liked and get home and cook. I usually just pick up whatever I find at the grocery store, not really considering the quality.
B
Then I was introduced to Omaha Steaks which was a game changer. It's incredibly convenient because they deliver high quality proteins straight to my door.
C
I made the filet mignon steak which was one of the best ones I've ever made at home, but I also got the chicken breast and burgers and everything I made tasted completely fresh. Everything is frozen at their moment of peak flavor, texture and quality. Each steak is naturally aged for a minimum of 28 days for maximum tenderness
D
and complex flavor and every purchase is
B
risk free with 100% satisfaction guarantee.
A
Taste the Omaha Steaks difference and never settle for grocery proteins again. Get flavorful high quality proteins delivered by visiting Omaha steaks.com/35 off when you use promo code playersbox at checkout. That's Omaha Steaks.com code players box Terms Apply C site for details. Speaking of, obviously Des, Maddie and I are in Madrid here. Jenny, where do you want to share where you are right now? Just to give people yeah, yeah, right
C
now I'm back in Florida. I was in Charlottesville this past week was playing my match, ended up having to retire. Felt a little something but it's nothing major, more just precautionary. So we'll probably play not next week, but the week after and then hopefully my protected will get me into French Open qualities. So we'll see.
A
Nice. Maddie, we've established that you are alive because you are. You're filming. Do you want to give us an update fully? I mean obviously everyone already heard from the unforced air, but
B
yeah, the Night before my match, I went to dinner and didn't feel amazing, but was like, oh, maybe I'm just hungry. And then the moment all the food came out and I made eye contact with the food, I looked at Bjorn and I said I need to leave. And I sped walk back to the hotel. And it's been, it's been kind of rough since then, but I'm on the mend, I'm surviving.
A
Yeah, it's. Has everyone had a, like a case of like this?
D
Yes.
A
It happened to me like three years ago now at the French Open at a restaurant. I got food poisoning. Yeah, it's just the worst. There's nothing, there's nothing you can do. Like in the deep dark moments when it's. When you're in the thick of it.
D
No.
C
And it's coming out both ways.
D
There's nothing worse. You just gotta ride it out, I guess.
A
There is nothing you can do. And also Maddie, you were, you were first on the next day. So you had like zero.
B
I had no chance.
A
Yeah, there was.
D
You texted us in the morning at like 7am and you're like, no, not, this is not. I don't feel good. You're like, I don't feel well.
C
Yeah, you're like, it's still coming out. And it was like, there's nothing even come out. Like take a sip of water and
B
it's like, yeah, I was being like force fed water and the moment I would start drinking water I'd be like, I'm going to go puke really quick. I'll be back.
D
I think the last time I had bad food poisoning, like bad was in, gosh, a long time ago. But I was playing, it was right before a final of, of a tournament in Switzerland and it was my first WTA final and I was like. And they were like, no, you're like at 101 fever, like you cannot go out and play. And like I got food poisoning from sushi and Alexa end up having the same thing, but she didn't get food poisoning. And I was like, I'm playing this final no matter what. First final, I have 101 fever, I don't care. But luckily we won. So that was the worst. It was.
A
Oh wow. You won.
D
Yeah. 10, 8, 1.
A
Wow. Oh my gosh. That's a good effort.
C
You also had a little bout of food poisoning at Indian Wells this year.
D
Yeah, but was it food poisoning or was it like something.
C
It was just beetroot juice that you decided to drink after it was in
A
the sun first with the four hours.
B
The best part was that there was, like, no, no. Like, brat diet protocol. Afterwards, you were just like, I'm just gonna eat anything. I don't know why. My stomach sucks. Still hurt.
C
Besides, my stomach is in shambles. I had a strawberry banana smoothie.
B
A smoothie. And then you had, like, pasta. And then you sent a picture of, like, the iced circus animal cookies.
C
Circus animal.
B
I was like, what the hell are you doing? Are you trying to kill yourself?
A
Kill yourself?
D
The fact that I didn't even make it to the bathroom after the match and, like, the poor dining area and. Yeah, it was. That was bad. Didn't even make it back.
B
That was bad.
A
Well, Des, do you want to talk about your. Your more exciting plans that you have coming up?
D
Yeah.
A
Well, between here and Rome.
D
Yeah. I guess when you lose early, you can plan an Italian vacay with your boyfriend. So that is what I'll be doing, but I'll stay here. Ciao, bella. I'll be in Madrid for a few more days, just training, and then a few days in the Amalfi coast. Not too shabby. So, yeah, do that. I'm excited. Love Italy. We'll spend as much time as I can there and then prep for Rome.
A
Speaking of Rome, Carlos is out of Rome and now out of Roland Garros. Thoughts? I think it's his right wrist forearm. Whatever situation he's got going on, he's got, like, a little cast on it, but, yeah, I just feel like he's so young. Like, I Forgot he's, what, 22? I was like, oh, yeah, don't play.
C
Yeah.
A
You have, like, so long ahead of you, and you've already, like, you're so good. Do not risk that. So it felt like it was the right decision.
C
Obviously, really tough decision, but hopefully it's the right decision. And, you know, he rests and recovers as soon as possible.
D
Yeah, it's more the longevity of his career. I mean, like you said, he's so young that he has. Might as well not risk it anyways. But it's gonna suck for both tournaments as well. And obviously, the rivalry between him and Sinners, Jenny's favorite.
C
Well, finally, maybe two new faces in the finals of Madrid. Romeo and French Open. Although I do love Carlos. Like, he's one of my favorite players.
A
He was at the. Is it Loris or Laurus? Sports. Loris.
C
Las.
A
Does anyone know?
D
I don't know.
B
I don't know how to play.
D
Like, racket.
C
I know how to say it. I know how to. I'll just Say Loris Laurus, Spelling bee.
A
Laura. Sports Awards. Sorry, I'm. I've never heard anyone say it out loud. I really don't know how it's pronounced, but we'll talk about that in a second. But, yeah, he showed up there because he was in attendance and he had, like, the cast on. I think that's when he kind of announced Laurius.
D
Well done, Jeff.
A
Think we're not really sure. Um, and yeah, he had the cast on. I think everyone. That was before he actually, I think, officially pulled out of Roland Garros. But it seemed like he was pretty set on that, considering he had a cast on. Who did we think was best dressed at the glorious Sports Awards?
B
Alex Yala looked so good.
D
So good. Her uncle made that dress for her.
C
Oh, wow.
B
Oh, really?
D
Yeah, her uncle made that dress for her in two days. They literally, like, designed it in.
A
Yeah, she was my favorite. She looked like the Princess of the Philippines.
C
Yeah, that's what you said. I 100% agree.
B
So good.
C
I think everyone looked so good.
D
Is really good, though. She looked just, like, so chic and, like, put together and, like, she looked really good.
A
I. Her dress was, like, pretty. It was more simple.
B
Yeah, I did like arena sparkles, too.
A
Can't go wrong with the sparkly.
B
I love a glitter dress, Amanda.
A
Yes, Amanda. It was, like a chromey silver.
C
Yeah.
D
And her hair, makeup looked really good with her mom.
C
That was cute.
A
Yeah, her mom was really cute. I thought that was nice. Um, so I'm sure everyone saw this yesterday, but we talked about it a little bit earlier today. In the chat was Arthur Feast talking about how his trainer told him to shut the F up, but, like, not bleeped out. Like, said shut the F up in the middle of his match when he was down, like, a break in the third. And he said it really helped him kind of shut up and win the match. And it was so cute. Him describe, like, this whole. He was giggling so hard on the tennis channel desk with Prakash. It was so funny. But I thought it was, like, a really candid, funny moment.
D
So he said it or his trainer said it?
C
No, his.
A
His trainer told him to shut the F up. Yeah, he was complaining he was losing. Like, he was starting to, like, you know, like, a lot of chatter at the box. And he said, my trainer just told me shut the F up. And he was like, oh, maybe. Maybe I should.
C
Twice.
B
Two times.
A
Yeah.
B
It reminded me of one year at the US Open. I was playing. I forget who I was playing, but I was, like, down a break in the third, and Max, like, stands up and like, gets at. You know how the US Open, you kind of have to, like, lean over so that they can hear. He, like, leans over and he goes, stop hitting your backhand down the line. Just hit a cross court. And I looked back at him. I'm tripping, Ryan. And then I won the match. And afterwards I was like, thanks.
D
It's honestly something.
C
Yeah.
D
Something so little that'll fuel you. And it's like, just flips a switch.
A
Yeah. Sometimes you need someone sometimes to just honestly like, clock the situation and just get you.
B
Clock it.
A
Yeah, Clock you and get you back on track. So clearly that's what happened to Arthur Feast yesterday, which he seemed to be very happy about it. He was. Seemed like he was grateful that he got clocked by his team. Also, another hot topic, Borges and Echeverry underarm serve on match point. I see a lot of people talking about this. I don't really care. Who cares?
C
Who cares?
A
Sure do it.
C
I mean, the guy standing, like, behind the baseline, it's a great under harm surface.
D
I mean, it's ballsy to do it on match point.
B
I don't understand the conversation of, like, banning it.
C
No.
A
What do you mean that?
B
Yeah, they're like, it's so unsportsmanlike. It should be banned. It shouldn't be a shot. Like, who. Who cares?
A
I literally don't care. Boo.
D
Book does it all the time. I mean, it's. If you can't make a serve, you're
A
gonna part of their game.
C
Yeah.
B
Who cares?
C
It's like hitting a slice.
B
We can't be that soft collectively. As a sport, we can't be that soft.
A
I mean, like, I like, I really, like, legitimately do not care at all.
C
Yeah. And honestly, it's actually really hard to hit a good underarm serve.
B
I would probably miss an underarm serve, which is why I try. Attempted.
C
Yeah. It's not in a match. In practice. Yeah. That's the last thing I do. I'm telling you, I am not going for an underarm serve on match point. Are you kidding me? If I double fault or miss that.
D
I have seen Irani do it, and I mean, it works for her. She'd rather do an underhand serve. I mean, why not? If you know you're gonna make it more times than an actual serve, why not? Nothing wrong with it. But yeah, obviously.
B
I mean, Ruse got me on one at Wimbledon.
A
Oh, she did.
B
She did. And I was so thrown off by it. I was like, oh, my God, it's
C
actually a smart play on the grass.
B
It just died.
A
Was that you and I that were playing together at the French when we were playing against the two. Maybe, like, a Japanese.
D
Oh, my gosh. That was our first round match. Yes.
A
They, like, made finals the year before.
D
Yeah.
A
Yeah. I came in to just. I had to come in and, like, the break everything.
D
And you just.
A
There was a lot going on, and I was like, oh, shoot. We play, like, last year's finalists. And then we go out there and they're, like, hitting underarms, turfs. And I was like, does. I was like, make the return feet? Because you were starting to, like, miss a couple. It was getting tight. Just get your feet up there. Run up there and hit the ball.
D
It's like, okay, okay, I'll listen to you, Jessica.
A
Because she was. They were doing it a ton. I think we won in three.
D
Yeah, we did. It was. And then I cried after because I was, like, so mentally exhausted.
A
See, so this is why sometimes you never know what's going on. You throw an underarm serve in, someone might have a mental breakdown.
C
They might crash out.
A
They crash out. But, like, seriously, I don't know why people get that upset about it. I'm totally fine with it. Match point is crazy, but it's crazy for the guy doing it. Like, if he misses it, he just kind of looks not done great, and that's his fault. And then we move on. So I don't know. Congrats to Ans Jaber. She gave birth to a baby boy, which I can't believe. I saw her in Riyadh and she told me she was pregnant. I was like, oh, my God. And she was, like, I don't know, really excited, and you couldn't. I don't know, you couldn't really tell. But that feels like it was last week, so I just can't believe that
D
she was in Dubai as well for a little bit, and she was there, and she ended up saying, oh, yes, I'm having a baby boy. And, yeah, so they were waiting to see if they were gonna. If. If they had to induce her and everything, but she. Everything was. Well, she said. Her coach said. But congrats to her. Nice.
A
You know, I know she really wanted. She really wanted kids, so that's really nice that she's able to share that and take a break and.
B
Such a good mom. Yeah.
C
Yeah, she'll be great.
B
She gives, like, the best mom energy.
C
Yeah.
A
Yes. She's agreed.
C
They will both be great parents.
D
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
C
That. That child Is going to be so spoiled.
A
That's so true. Every. I feel like every child on tour answ was, like, always, like, with them, playing with them, and then I think it was her sister that would always come with her.
D
Yeah.
A
Like nieces or nephews. I'm not sure which, but she would always have them around her, like, all the time. So it's really cute that. Yeah, she's able to share that moment. And she also looked really good on her. Was it vogue?
D
Yeah.
A
Saudi Arabia, Mother's day or kind of.
D
Or. What was that for?
A
Oh, no, but she looked amazing.
D
Yeah, she looks great.
A
So sports illustrated swimsuit highlights just came out. Obviously, there's a whole list of, you know, athletes that have done it or did it this year. We've had tennis players do it in the past. Would you guys ever do it, Jenny?
D
Yeah.
C
Yeah, of course. Are you kidding me? I would feel so awkward, though, posing. I mean, I'm so, like, awkward. So I don't know.
A
Our girl Hannah burner did it.
C
Yeah, I know.
A
She looked freaking awesome.
C
After seeing her do it, I was like, hell, yeah, I could do it. I can do it. I mean, not that I'm getting pulled up to do it, but, yeah, I would do it.
D
Oh, you never know
A
anyone else.
D
I would totally do it.
A
Why not?
C
Yeah. Oh, I could see dez, like, Des
A
would definitely do it.
C
Des, you would, like, own that shoot. Yeah, I'd be like, des, teach me how to pose.
D
I feel like I would be more inclined to do it with, like, a friend or something like that would be fun to do, like, share the experience with.
C
Oh, actually, that would be really fun. Me and Des, duo.
A
Oh.
D
Oh, the dynamics duo. We might be fighting, but that's okay.
C
Half the pod.
D
Maddie, would you do it?
B
I mean, I would probably do it. I don't think that I'm going to get any calls for it to where I actually have to, like, own up to what I'm saying right now, because I'd look dumb if I'd be like, yeah, I would do it. And then they'd call me and I'd be like, no, no. So, yeah, I mean, I'm gonna say that I would do it.
A
We've had what Genie Sloan
B
Wozniacki did it a few times, I think.
A
Yeah. Sharpova. Maybe Maria, for sure.
B
Maria did it.
A
I think at least once did.
B
Serena.
A
Serena, I'm sure.
C
Yeah.
A
Serena. I feel like we're missing someone else, like a Hanchakova or like, someone.
B
Don't forget we had the bodies issue. That One bodies issue.
A
Yeah.
B
And didn't John Isner do it?
A
Yes, he did it. Can do the body issue. Then we can freaking do this as a swimsuit.
D
His little tush up there.
A
Yeah.
C
That was good.
A
I remember. That was crazy.
B
Oh, my God.
A
Who else in tennis do you think would be a good candidate costume? I mean, all the people we just listed.
C
Yeah.
D
Sonmez.
C
I think everyone.
A
I'm surprised Irina hasn't done it yet. It must not, like, fit. I don't know. When they shoot, she would totally do it, and I just feel like, obviously she's number one, so you think she'd. And she crush it beyond the list. But yeah. Shout out to Hannah. You looked great.
C
Yeah.
A
Sophie Cunningham did it. Do you guys know who she is? She plays for the Fever, I think still.
C
Yes.
B
She currently has a podcast with West.
D
Oh, Maddie knew that one.
B
Yes.
C
Wow.
B
She does.
A
Yikes. She looked great.
D
Jess is trying to save it.
B
Jess is like, who is. Who's West? Like, who's Wes again?
C
What?
A
What?
B
Oh, gosh.
C
All right, well, before we get into too much summer house, let's move on to our next section. Josh Allen. Hallelujah. Jumping on the Justin Bieber Hallelujah trend. What makes you say hallelujah in tennis?
A
New balls.
B
Hallelujah.
C
Net cord. Hallelujah.
B
Being able to get a practice. Hallelujah.
A
What else?
B
An ace.
D
Hallelujah.
B
Just. That comes easily to just these days. So it's not.
D
Yeah. You're like, four in the ace. Queen on the list.
A
Yeah.
D
My gosh. What else?
A
Hallelujah.
C
Hallelujah. When the opponent double faults. Hallelujah.
B
No, the best is what they hit in that court, but it, like, dribbles back on their side.
D
You're like.
A
You're like. Yes.
C
Literally. Hallelujah.
A
Hallelujah. What else? First on.
C
Oh, hallelujah.
A
Hallelujah.
B
Unless you have food poisoning and you need time to survive.
D
What else?
A
Save a match point.
B
That's a good one.
C
Win the match.
A
Hallelujah.
D
Hallelujah.
A
A good bounce on the clay or, like, you get. You hit a shot. That's a really bad bounce for them.
C
Oh, yeah, it hits the line.
A
It, like, goes, like, six feet to the right, and you're like, hallelujah. Yeah.
B
Or if you hit, like, a terrible drop shot and you somehow get away with it and still win the point.
A
Yes.
D
Like, yes. We've talked before about why one skin really stands out as a skincare company. It's not hype or just fancy packaging. It's real science. The founders are longevity Researchers who asked a simple, brilliant question. If wrinkles, fine lines and sagging come from those zombie cells, what if we could actually reduce them instead of just slapping on creams? Their approach goes after the root cause, not just the surface. So it's science backed and actually aims for firmer, smoother, younger looking skin. Seriously, give it a try. I think you'll notice the difference.
C
That research led to OS one One Skin's proprietary peptide. It's the first ingredient proven to switch off those damaged senescent cells, actually slowing skin aging directly at the source. This is serious science that fits easily into my existing routine. And every time I use One Skin, I'm giving my skin a clear signal to repair damaged cells, support collagen and strengthen my skin barrier.
D
I love One Skin. I think it's really changed my skin texture and I love how hydrated my skin feels and absorbs really well, which I love because I can layer them with my other products I like to use right after I wash my face morning and night. And I love the science backed ingredients and how they pair so well with the other active ingredients in my routine.
A

B
Weddings, tournaments, trips and way more photos. And I realized if you wear glasses, you're wearing them in all of those moments. So if you don't love your frames, you feel it pretty quickly.
D
Before Warby Parker, buying glasses always felt way more complicated than it should be. Like overpriced, hard to compare, and no real way to tell if something would actually look good on your face.
C
That's why I'm obsessed with Warby Parker. They've made everything so much easier. Their virtual try on lets you see frames on your face in real time from your phone, and it actually works.
B
I picked up a pair of matte black Durand frames as prescription sunglasses right before the trip and I felt way more confident wearing them. Got a bunch of compliments and they feel super high quality without being crazy expensive.
A
Their prescription glasses start at $95, so you're getting style and quality without overthinking it. Plus they've got contacts, eye exams, sunglasses, everything in one place and 300 plus stores. If you ever want to go in

B
Well, spring is here and that means that it's time to clean out some clutter. That includes closets, habits, and maybe even some decisions. So clean sweep what stays, what gets thrown out immediately. So we're gonna do keep or trash sharing hotel rooms?
A
Trash keep.
B
Oh, with my husband keep anyone else trash?
A
Yeah.
D
Well, for a doubles player, I love sharing a room because, you know, I get more pretty and I also like sharing a room because it's like another bed in the room. Hallelujah.
B
Yeah.
D
Literally.
C
Jenny, I'm so torn. I Love it for keep. But then at the same time, if they snore or they disrupt my sleep, trash immediately.
D
Okay. What if we were sharing?
C
Keep.
B
Oh, okay. Booking last minute flights.
A
Keep, keep.
B
Because we have no other options.
D
Yeah.
B
Napping instead of exploring. Trash. Because I don't does.
D
Oh, this is hard one, guys.
C
Yeah, this is like both of your traits.
D
I love these. Napping instead of exploring. I'm gonna need a nap before I explore. But, like, you know, I'm gonna trash.
B
Final answer.
D
Yeah.
B
Ice baths. Trash, keep, trash.
A
I love ice baths.
D
You do love a good ice bath.
B
I'm always in the ice bath early morning practices. Keep, keep, keep, keep. Hitting snooze five times.
D
Trash, trash, keep. Oh, Maddie.
B
Wow.
A
Every morning I hit it.
B
I work snooze time into my alarm.
A
Yeah.
D
How many times do you actually snooze?
A
I give myself three times for me,
B
three snoozes for my alarm.
D
Doesn't that give you anxiety? Like you're like, oh my God. How many times you're thinking and you're still going back to sleep. Like, how many times did I actually news?
B
No, it's never crossed my mind.
C
I usually wake up before my alarm.
A
Wow.
B
Online shopping late at night.
A
Keep, keep, keep. Of course.
B
Love that.
A
Keep.
C
But never buy.
D
It's in the cart.
B
Ignoring texts for days. Trash, keep, keep.
C
And it gives me anxiety. If I don't respond immediately, then I forget to respond because I don't leave the notification on.
A
That's what I do. And that's what happens is like, you
D
don't leave it to be unread.
A
No, I hate when it like has the little dot.
B
The bubbles on apps gives me severe anxiety and I know that I'll forget to respond to people, so I just have to do it immediately.
D
I keep it just because if it's like some people will text after a match and I just don't want to respond emotionally. So I just like keep it there until like the next day or two. And then I respond, good for you.
B
Saying I'm busy when you're not.
A
Keep, keep.
C
Laying on my couch watching the phone ring.
B
Emotionally, I'm busy. And that counts too.
D
I just need some time for myself.
B
Group chats that never end.
C
Keep, keep, keep. Yeah, clearly need to catch up on the 400 messages.
B
Re wearing the same travel outfit every flight.
D
Keep, keep. Hell yeah. All business, baby. Gotta wear the black. Don't want to sweat.
B
Boarding last versus lining up immediately.
A
Oh, my God. Depends on the carry on situation.
B
If I don't have an overhead Carry on. I will board last if I have a carry on that needs to get in the overhead compartment. I'm boarding with my group.
C
Boarding with my group or limping on?
A
Yeah.
D
Oh, that's good.
B
Red Eye flights.
C
Trash.
D
Trash.
A
Yeah, I actually. I used to do them all the time, and I realized that I hate them. I feel terrible.
D
I will say you just lose a whole day, especially flying from West Coast. The only time to fly to like, to not lose a whole day to east coast is to fly Red Eye and you get the whole day. But it's tough. I struggle.
B
I'm gonna keep them. I hate losing my entire day.
D
Yeah, I don't want to be cranky, so I'm gonna trash it.
A
Trash.
B
Living off of Uber Eats for a week.
A
Keep. Keep.
B
Why not trash. UberEats and I are fighting.
D
Yeah, we'll keep it.
C
What about doordash?
B
To be honest, I've never used doordash.
C
What?
B
Yeah.
A
Wow. Wait, really? I don't use it that much, but I definitely have it.
C
You get, like, depending on what credit card you have, you don't have to, like, pay for all those fees and stuff. It's way better than Uber.
D
It's like, I don't 15 off or something.
A
We want Uber Eats app. Definitely get a Door Dash one.
B
Okay, so maybe I'll delete Uber Eats and download Door Dash, I guess.
D
Ooh, yeah.
B
Never unpacking and living out of your suitcase. Trash, trash.
D
Oh, I need to unpack and, like, feel like I'm at home.
C
Keep.
A
Trash.
B
Overpacking just in case outfits.
C
Keep, trash.
A
Keep, keep, keep, keep, keep.
B
Always wearing the same hoodie the entire trip.
D
Keep, keep, keep, keep.
B
But I always pack a backup one in case I need to throw it in laundry once or twice.
A
I have multiple.
C
Yeah.
D
But I'm waiting for the Playerbox hoodie to come my way.
B
Sleeping with the tv.
A
I don't mind it. Yeah, sometimes it works for me.
C
It helps me fall asleep.
A
Keep.
B
Keep. Reusing towels or fresh one every time.
C
Fresh. Fresh trash.
A
I reuse towels sometimes. Yeah, I would love a fresh towel every time, but it's like, doesn't happen all the time. More laundry or I'm being eco friendly. Hang up the towel.
C
Hang it.
A
Leave it on the floor,
B
I guess. Keep.
A
I'll say. Keep.
B
Bringing your own pillow.
D
Keep.
C
Trash. I'd never done it.
B
Those of us with bad necks know you have to bring your own pillow.
A
Yes.
D
I mean, my pillow last week was like a log. It was so, like, skinny and, like, just, like, just not comfortable.
A
It's awful. Yeah. No.
B
Keeping the room freezing cold.
C
Keep.
A
Keep it ice cold.
B
Leaving clothes everywhere versus keeping it spotless.
C
Trash keep. Spotless.
B
Spotless.
D
Leaving clothes everywhere.
C
Yeah, she does.
A
I think I keep. Yeah, I try to clean, but then it'll get messy. But then I'll clean it. Yeah. Like, I go back and forth.
D
You guys saw my room when I was packing. It was awful.
B
Spotless.
C
Spotless.
B
Okay, last thing. What's one thing in your life you personally need to spring clean? Jenny, you're first.
C
My email inbox. It is 1,338.
D
Mine's at 800 something, but it's like
C
spam or it's like doordash. Your reminder has been accepted. Your order has been picked up. Your order is.
D
Delete them.
C
Your order has been Uber receipt.
D
All these WTA messages too.
B
Like, just delete them.
C
Yeah, I know. That's what I need to spring clean. So there's my answer. Jessica.
B
Okay, good. Good job.
A
Probably the same. Not so much emails, but, like, photos and messages. I don't know why I have, like, no storage left on my phone. I think it's because of videos I've downloaded according to my storage. So I got to go and, like, delete all the big attachments and all this stuff. I started doing it the other day. It's bad, though. Like, my phone would, like, start freezing up and stop working because I can't do anything. And I'm. You can also understand.
B
Set your phone to automatically delete text messages after a year.
A
Yeah, I have that. I don't understand why. Well, I used to.
D
How are we gonna look back into the chat?
C
Yeah, see, I. Jenny loves it, but it gives me, like, a little bit of uncertainty because I like to go back. Go back and pull out the receipts.
A
Yeah. And use the archives.
C
I like the archives. So I like.
A
She needs to bring things back.
D
Does I need to clean, like, my photo library? I have 37,000. Over 37,000 photos on my phone. That's a lot.
A
Yeah, that's a lot.
D
Yeah, I have a lot of dog photos of everyone's dog and Pluto. So.
B
Yeah, you guys make me feel like a psycho. I have, like, no emails. I have. I delete pictures all of the time because too many of them stress me out.
D
Well, that's what I need to do. I have too many of the same.
B
I have this weird thing with, like, samples at home. I have, like, three boxes of, like, little hair and skin care samples that you get it, like, every time you put in a Sephora order. And I'M like, I have to keep them. What if I need them for a trip? And then I go on a seven week trip and I can't use a tiny little sample so I need to like, part with them. I've had some literally for years. I think I moved some from one house to another house and it's time to. To give them up.
A
It's time to like.
C
Wait. I did see those when I. When I stayed at your house that one night. I opened the drawer and oh, those
B
aren't the ones I'm talking about. There's more upstairs.
C
It was like literally like a, like
D
a Sephora sample kit.
B
That's just my guest bathroom.
C
Yeah, it was a Laroche. Like, basically like you were at the store and they were handing out samples of every single one of their products and you just got little sample size.
B
Oh, my God.
A
Yeah.
B
So if any of my friends that come over.
C
No, I've seen this, I was like, this is so smart.
B
Yeah, So I have all of those, but then I also have like, literally like three buckets of them upstairs in a closet also.
C
You never know.
D
I guess that's one thing too. I. I collect so many. Like when I'm on trips, I collect the toothbrushes and like the toothpaste. Because those little tiny toothpaste travelers are great. So I just take them and they're great for my travel. I need to get rid of them. I have so many.
B
They're great. Until you have 87.
D
So many.
A
I definitely don't save the travel toothpaste.
B
Yeah, I think they're great.
D
I mean, do you not remember what I travel with? Maddie and I are gonna buy this Dyson travel kit as well. I have my own essential oil that I brought with me too. I just realized. Oh, see, I love it.
B
I might always have one somewhere.
D
There's always one. Just in case.
A
You never know.
D
All right, let's get into our who am I? So my clues from last week were Olympic gold medalists. Has a habit of showing up at grand slams and leaving with the trophy, but often not alone. And has a dog named Fluffy. And the answer was. Jenny got it right. It was Katerina Sinikova. Maddie also got it right. Jess didn't guess, but that's okay.
C
Okay, so my who am I for this week is. If you follow closely, I'm amongst the top players from my country. You will find another young rising star by my side. Off the tennis court. Layer by layer, I build until the finish is sweet. And that's my who am I. For the week.
B
You love a riddle as your last.
D
Drop your answers in the comments below.
C
Moving on to fan questions. Next week we're going to change this section up a bit and we will be handing out some low stakes advice. So if you have any silly problems you need advice on, send it in and we will give you our professional answers.
B
Not legal advice though.
D
Yes,
B
we will not be liable for any bad decisions.
D
This is the fine print below.
B
My mother is a lawyer. No one will get us tripped up with that.
C
Yeah, nothing too serious. So first question from Raul. Shout out to one of the hitting partners in Madrid. Who's a fan? Who is the hardest hitter versus who feels like the hardest hitter?
A
Maddie.
C
Maddie for both.
D
Yeah.
A
I think Maddie is the hardest hitter and it feels like the hardest hitter. Yeah.
D
When I hit with you in Brisbane, I was like, oh, I don't think I can hang out. I was like using my whole body into this shot to go back to you.
C
The backhand and the forehand, it's just like. No, I was saying your backhand.
D
Oh, yeah. So, yeah, Maddie, disagree, but whatever.
A
Okay. Since you can't pick yourself.
C
Yeah.
A
I mean, who is the hardest hitter?
B
I would say Rybakina has a really big ball, but I think because it's like she doesn't really grunt and it doesn't look like it's a lot of effort, I don't think it always comes across as a ball that would be as hard as it is. And then I think, I think like, similar to, similarly to Sharapova, Sabalenka has such a loud grunt that goes along with it. I feel like sometimes it feels like it is going to come hard, which it does. But it's almost like the addition of the sound also makes it feel like it's going to come harder.
C
Yeah.
A
Agreed. Yeah.
C
Next question from Nusaiba. Sorry if I butchered that. What's one thing fans think is easy that's actually incredibly difficult at your level?
B
Everything.
C
Yeah. Yeah. Winning.
A
Winning a tournament.
C
Yeah.
A
I feel like winning a tournament is. Fans just assume like, yeah, like you all. We all win tournaments.
C
Yeah.
D
Or like you've done it before. You. You can do it.
A
Yeah. It's just so easy to just win another tournament.
C
Yeah. Well, so many players have such amazing careers and they never win a tournament.
B
Or I think like the constant travel.
C
Yeah.
B
Like, I don't think people always put together all of the weeks that you're on the road.
D
And a lot of people say, like, oh, like, but you're going to these Great places. Like, that's so great. But it's also like, we're going to the same places every single year. It's. There's a lot that goes into it. It's not always a vacation. I mean, if you lose early, I guess you can go on vacation, but, you know.
C
Yeah. You're not. It's not a five star resort vacation. Chill vibe. You're. You're there to work, not to,
A
you know, play.
C
Yeah. Actually are to play, but not figuratively.
A
Different kind of play.
C
Yeah, different kind of play. Next question from Carlo. Is there someone on tour who initially comes off as intimidating but is very friendly off court? She's not on tour anymore, but Garbinhe Mugaruta, I played doubles with her one year, and I was always very intimidated by her. And she was super friendly, very nice, actually. Really funny. So it's somebody that comes to my mind.
D
I talk to everyone.
C
I don't know.
D
No one really intimidates me.
C
Yeah. Dazzle.
D
Like, even if they probably are, I'm like, hi. Oh.
B
Oh.
C
They don't want to talk.
B
Next.
A
I don't know who. I don't know. I feel like everyone's pretty much how they are. Like, I don't.
D
I will say, when I first came on tour, when I first saw Venus Williams in the locker room, I was like, holy. And I was, like, so intimidated. But then she started talking to me about her dog, Harry, and I was like, oh, my God, she's so chill. And we started talking, and then she just started saying hi to me at tournaments, and I was like, oh, my God. God, I'm in.
B
I feel like that's what happens when you have, like, goat status, though.
C
Yeah.
B
It's like, as soon as you're one of the greatest, it's like, whoa. They're intimidating, but it has, like, nothing to do with their personality. It's just because it's like, they're one of the greatest.
D
Yeah.
B
Ever.
A
I was gonna say Vika, because Vika is so intense on the court. Like, so intense. The first time I hit with her, I was like, oh, my gosh. Like, I'm not good enough. She's so intimidating. Like, she's like, just because her energy, like, when she's out there, like, when she starts, it's like, business. So intense and so focused and, like, great practice, especially if you want to replicate, like, just from start to finish, like, intensity. But then, like, off the court, she's, like, pretty chill. Like, always says hi from, like, from a really long time that I can remember. Always said hi to me. I remember I won my first tournament in D.C. and she was like, oh, congrats on D.C. and it was kind of like your situation does. I was like, she. I mean, was playing at the time and, like, doing really well. And I was like, why does Azarenka, like, know that I won a tournament? Like, I didn't even realize that she would even.
D
She knows I existed.
A
Acknowledge that.
D
Yeah.
A
And I was like, oh, thanks. Yeah, exactly. So she's one I would say that I get that feeling with.
B
I just thought of someone that we're all missing, and it's Poetsy.
C
Yeah. I did kind of think, oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah.
D
That's actually.
C
She's awesome off court.
D
She's so funny.
C
It is a good one.
A
And then afterwards, she's, like, making jokes and like, oh, yeah, I found this coffee shop. It's really good. And you're like, what? Like, you were just ready to, like, murder me on the court. It's so funny.
C
Okay, last question from Killian. Which reality show would each of you do best on? Maddie, since you are our reality TV expert, would you like to start us off?
B
I think that I would do well in reality Housewives franchise Jenny's. Love it or list it. Okay. Yeah, that's definitely Jenny.
C
So I asked. I just asked Chat. GPT. Which reality show would each one of us do well on? Does. Do you guys want to know? Okay, let's hear it.
D
Yeah.
C
Okay, so for Jennifer Brady, I'll. I'll read the little. Just a little sentence, and then I'll say the show. If you're casting Jennifer Brady onto reality tv, you want formats. Formats that reward discipline, mental toughness and low drama competitiveness. That's her lane. Best overall fit Survivor.
B
Oh, okay.
C
Not her lane. Love Island. Too much drama. Social first episode. And Big Brother. Heavy social manipulation. So Survivor Amazing Race or the Challenge. Okay. For Desiree didn't give me a little thing.
D
What do you guys think I would be in?
A
I don't watch enough reality TV to know. I feel like Maddie should.
C
The one that it gave is pretty. Is like. I was like, oh, that's good.
A
Say it.
C
The Amazing Race.
B
Oh, she's a good explorer.
C
Yeah, but, well, it's going off, like, good. I'm adoring out here, like, team instincts.
D
I'm good at escape rooms. Right, guys?
C
Also Survivor. She could be a sneaky social. Strategic, but not physical.
D
Yes.
B
They knew it.
D
No cardio.
C
Maddie best fit the challenge. She'd be the one nobody wants to sit. Yeah, I don't know.
D
She's outdoors.
C
Survivor chatgpt is wrong. If she embraces strategy, she could go far, but it's less natural than in the wilderness. Yeah. No, she's not last.
A
No.
B
It'd be like, remove me. Where's the exit button?
C
All right, it got Maddie wrong. But Jess, it says big brother. I've never heard of that.
B
Oh, I. Justin, you're so good at big brother.
A
What was big brother about again?
D
You're all in a house. They do a bunch of, like, games. They do eliminations. And like, you kind of like try to have to play both sides in a way to keep you in the house. Like, you have allies.
B
You kind of just like, manipulate people basically.
D
But, like, you would be just so subtle about it.
B
But I say that in the nicest way.
D
Yeah.
B
That are like. You'd be good at like, traders.
A
Oh, yeah. I was just gonna say it sounds like traders. It's similar. I don't watch it.
C
But yeah, she's the type who quietly controls votes without being obvious. Yeah.
B
Yes.
D
Literally, Jess, that's definitely me.
C
In a non manipulative way. Yeah.
A
In the nicest way possible.
C
Yeah.
A
So I'm a snake.
C
But.
B
But in a good way.
C
Maddie would be on Housewives.
A
Yeah.
D
Which one would Maddie be on?
B
Literally anything inside she wants to be on.
A
Salt Island. No.
C
Salt Lake.
B
No, I can't hang with Salt Lake.
C

Hosts: Madison Keys, Jessica Pegula, Jennifer Brady, Desirae Krawczyk
This week, the Player's Box hosts – Madison Keys, Jessica Pegula, Jennifer Brady, and Desirae Krawczyk – reconvene courtside (and virtually) to unpack the latest tour headlines and let loose with their classic mix of tennis insider banter, travel fails, pop culture takes, and listener Q&A. The Madrid Open sets the scene as they share their trademark ‘Unforced Errors of the Week’, debate the underarm serve, celebrate Ons Jabeur’s new baby and SI Swimsuit moments, and tackle a rapid-fire “Spring Cleaning” for tennis life and travel. Expect warmth, honesty, humor, and plenty of true behind-the-scenes energy.
Each host shares their most memorable mishap from the past week, giving listeners a hilarious and honest look at tennis life off the court.
Madison Keys: Practicing with Maria Sakkari, shanked a shot off the line and hit herself in the face. Also suffered food poisoning right before her first round in Madrid.
Jennifer Brady: Walked into her shower and banged her head into the towel bar.
Desirae Krawczyk: Checked into her hotel, was given the wrong room, and accidentally walked in on people already staying there.
Jessica Pegula: Driver was nearly an hour late, language barriers complicated things, and she struggled to direct rides around Madrid’s confusing traffic patterns.
Notable Moment:
Madison’s misadventures “win” the week’s unforced error contest, much to the group’s amusement.
Lighthearted rapid-fire: What makes you say “Hallelujah” during matches?
The group debates which travel/tour habits stay and which must go. Fun, revealing, and relatable:
Each host confesses what they truly need to declutter:
Weekly tennis riddle tradition. Last week’s answer: Katerina Siniakova.
This week’s clues:
Conversational, often irreverent, honest, and supportive. Hosts are candid about personal fails (and triumphs), with a “life on tour is wild, and that’s how we like it” attitude. They balance deep tennis inside talk with relatable travel-life, wellness, and culture banter—a must-listen for fans wanting the true pro tennis experience from the inside out.
For next week, send your silly advice questions in for “low stakes” guidance from the Player’s Box crew. And don’t forget: leave a review, subscribe, and catch these behind-the-scenes legends every Tuesday!
