This is the players box.
B
Hey, everybody. Welcome back to the players box. I'm Desiree Krafczyk alongside Jenny Brady, Madison Keys, and Jess Bagula. As always, a friendly reminder to please give our podcast five stars and subscribe on YouTube. We are one week into Roland Garros. We've got many updates on tournament results. We'll talk to you about the major headlines this week and play a little game called climbing the rankings. But first, let's get into our unforced error of the week. Madison.
A
I don't know if I have an unforced error this week, do I?
C
She's just winning.
A
Knock on wood. Things have been good. No unforced errors.
D
Let's.
A
Let's keep that going, Jenny.
D
So I was at the gym and another gym story, and a cute guy, of course. And I actually was texting Jess and I was like, oh, my gosh, there's a cute guy here at the gym.
C
And
D
we passed by each other and we locked eyes and I smiled and then he smiled at me, and then I was like, oh, cool. And then I left the gym, get in my car, and I look in the mirror and I have, like, this little, like, booger hanging out of my nose. And I was literally like, ugh, are you serious? So then I just kept thinking maybe he was looking at that and not me.
B
That's so good.
D
That was tough, Jess.
C
You guys already know mine. But I flew back after losing the other day in Paris, flew back home, and there was just this weird married couple that just rubbed everything they said was just the most irritating thing on the planet. The husband was really loud and he was very, like, all over the wife and, like, he had to do everything for her. So he just started saying so loud right in front of me and my husband. Oh, you're Bottega, baby. Do you want me to find a spot for it? Like, Bottega is a really nice designer handbag. So he was just like, name dropping brands. And then he goes, oh, what about your goyard? You want your goyard part? And she's like, oh, no, I think it's fine, baby. Okay, I love you. And it was just the weirdest thing. Like, he would say, like, love you. He would get up and say, go to the bathroom. And he'll be like, okay, love you. And then he would leave. He was standing right behind us. And we'll insert this picture with his hand down, like, the back of his pants, like, right in front of us.
A
Don't insert.
C
It's disgusting.
A
We don't need that
C
and yeah, if you guys, you think we're making things up, we can start posting some weird stuff on this podcast. Like, it was just so obnoxious. And then, like, before we took off, he's telling the lady behind him about his whole trip and how he took her to the store and bought her these designer handbags and just like, it was just, yeah, Patreon will get this picture because you guys want the extra content. Yeah, it was just there were so many. Oh. And then he. She complained because they didn't have her pre ordered vegan meal, which she was not happy about. The flight attendant had to come over and he made this whole story. I did it two weeks ago on the app. And, and it was just, just, I did not like these people. They just, everything they did was just very obnoxious and like, pretentious, I guess, and annoying. So I don't even know if that's an unfor. I mean, it's more like they're unforced there because they suck, but whatever. Did not appreciate them sitting next to me. It was highly entertaining, though. So,
B
Des, my unforced error was I'm staying at one of the tournament hotels and there's just so many people and the elevators take forever to go up and down. And sometimes, like, the weight limit is just an issue because so many people are in the elevator. So one of myself and another player, we were like, let's just take the stairs. We were on the third floor. We'll just take the stairs and we get outside. And I'm like, yeah, I got it. Like, well, like, I thought I was being smart and like, savvy and like, beating the elevator. So Sonia Kenan followed me and she's like, okay, I'll go with you. We get outside the hotel and I'm like, oh, it's just out here. We're outside the premises of the building and it's. There's no doors back into the building. Like, there's no handles back to the door. So it's just a one way. And then I was like, okay, let's try and go back the way we came. Doors were locked. We tried some other doors. Doors were locked. So I thought I was just being, you know, smart and trying to beat the traffic, but we were just outside waving our hands to people, like on the balconies, like, hey, can you help us? Because we can't get back into the building. And we were like, trying not to miss breakfast too. So I said, yeah, so sorry, Sonia, you probably shouldn't have followed Me out. But luckily, one of the security guys found us, like, waving around, and he was like, are you guys okay? We were like, well, no, we're stuck outside. So he had to come back down to, like, the minus one level and then come and get us. And it was a whole fiasco. So I think the elevators beat us there anyways, but we made it.
C
I feel like that's, like an escape room story gone wrong.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah. There's, like, a secret code or, like, a secret door you need to get back into.
C
But, yeah, bluff. Tried to bluff.
B
Then we ended up having breakfast together, so that was nice.
D
Yeah, it's like when you try to beat the light or, like, the light takes forever, and you decide, oh, I'm gonna take a right turn here and then make a U turn. And then you end up seeing the car that was behind you actually going before you.
B
So that was definitely an unforced error.
C
I feel like we all had really good ones.
B
Yeah, Maddie's just winning, so that's a good thing.
D
Yeah, Maddie's the winner of the week.
B
I feel like you're in forced error of, like, listening to that whole thing on your fly is pretty bad. Oh, except Jenny's. Jenny's bugger. That's a pretty good one.
D
Well, I think I got a double unforced error, because I share that. So now my unforced error is the fact that I shared that I had
B
that a booger hanging.
C
It's the worst. Like when you thought you were being cute and you just look in the mirror, like, oh, no.
D
And then I looked in the mirror,
B
and I was like, oh, yeah. It kind of reminds me of that from white chicks, that one scene where they. He's like, hey, give me a powder. And she put powder on her. And then she goes and talks to the cute guy and goes, hey, Heath. And he's like, you got something on your nose.
C
That's what it reminded me of.
A
Yeah,
B
Jenny, you win.
C
So, Jenny, that's a good one. You win.
D
I'll take a W. Okay. At this point, I think, you know, we love oneskin. Whether you try a bunch of new products or already have a routine you love, you have to incorporate oneskin. You won't regret it.
B
Oneskin didn't just make my existing routine better, but it actually works. As we age, our skin cells stop functioning the way they should, which is what shows visible signs of aging. Fine lines and loss of firmness.
C
One Skin's OS1 peptide was specifically engineered to address those. So you're getting everything you Expect from great skincare with OS1 doing something most skincare was never built to do.
B
I've been using One Skin OS one Peptide eye cream and face serum and I absolutely love them and have noticed better hydration and firmness in my face.
D
I also just got the Face SPF which is a tinted sunscreen. It's got those same skincare benefits from the OS1 peptide while also giving you mineral SPF protection from UV exposure. This is really important to us since we're always outside in the sun. So with this, you're protecting against future UV damage while reversing the visible effects of past summers full of sun.
C
And this isn't just my experience. Oneskin's results are backed by four peer reviewed clinical studies, over 10,000 five star reviews and they've been recognized recognized by Bloomberg as a leader in skin longevity.
B
Born from over a decade of longevity research, One Skin's OS1 peptide is proven to target the visible signs of aging, helping you unlock your healthiest skin now and as you age. For a limited time, try one skin with 15 off using code players box at OneSkin Co playersbox. That's 15 off OneSkin Co with Code Players box. C
Let's go into some tennis headlines. Roland Garros updates. I'll be quick. I lost Jenny.
D
I never played.
B
Great.
D
Does
B
first round dubs loss?
C
We're.
B
We are in the second round of mix though. That's great, Maddie.
A
I am playing my third round tomorrow.
C
Who do you play?
A
I play Vicky Mbocom.
D
Nice.
A
I'm very like confused. I haven't really looked at any draw. So every day I look at the schedule and everything is a huge surprise to me.
D
Yeah.
B
Do you kind of like that though?
A
I love it.
B
Like not looking at the draw. Yeah, I love it.
A
I'm the same way.
C
I like clueless.
D
Yeah, I dissect. But then I also forget, like if I'm winning, I'm like, oh, who do I play?
A
I just don't like that. Especially at the beginning of the tournament. Like you'll go into press before the tournament actually starts and journalists love to ask you like your projected quarter, what do you think? And they want you to dissect everything. And I'm always, I'm always so confused because the chances of that actually happening, like the likelihood of everyone actually winning and having no upsets and it being what they think it's going to be almost never happens. So I always feel like, why are we all freaking out? Let's just wait and see what happens.
B
Let's just take it one match at a time here.
C
I know they always ask you that, and it's just. It's the most, like, basic response, but there's really no other answer. It's like you have to take it one match at a time.
D
Yeah.
C
Literally. Because if you don't, you lose or if whatever, then it all falls apart. So. Yeah, Des, we know that you love the heat. So how is the heat in Paris?
D
The desert heat, not the Florida heat?
B
No, honestly, just because Paris, a week before Roland Garros was so cold, and the first week of Roland Garros was just became so hot. And I feel like all the players were just not. We weren't used to it because we were used to just the cold weather. It was just a lot to transition to. But I actually didn't mind the heat. I did play some players that were tall and really used that kick serve, and Maddie would probably agree. She loves using that kick serve, so it wasn't fun to play against. But I actually didn't mind the heat. It wasn't. It wasn't that bad. I think after the first couple days of practicing, it was. It was fine, but there were a couple days it was a little bit humid. Was it humid during your match, Jess?
A
It hasn't been humid at all, but,
C
yeah, it hasn't really humid.
A
Really hasn't gotten above, like, 50% humidity.
B
Oh, I think that's humid.
A
Jenny and I were like, oh, it's
B
got to be so humid.
D
Me and Des were texting during Justice Max match, and we were like, oh, my God, she's soaked. Like, yeah.
A
We were like, wow.
B
Like, she's drenched.
D
Oh, you weren't sweating? Maybe it's just the.
C
I mean, I was material.
B
She was glowing.
A
I think the day that Justin and I played, it was like 20 humidity.
B
I think it was the day. I don't know if it was the day I played or the day after, but it felt pretty humid. And then it kind of dropped out. Dropped down a little bit, maybe not.
C
I think the Florida girls are just used to a different kind of humid. Like, yeah, when I flew back the other day, I walked outside and I was like, wow, this is humid. Like, it is disgusting out right now.
D
That is so good.
C
So in comparison, it's nothing.
A
I feel like playing in. I mean, playing and not, like, super, super dry because I'm a Florida girl at heart and I need some humidity. But playing in like mild humidity and it's hot. I love playing tennis in those conditions. You feel so good.
B
It was also just nice to sweat though, because it was like I said, it was so cold and to sweat and just like be, I don't know, hot and jump in the ice bath was just so refreshing. But yeah, it's been pretty hot, as you can tell. I mean, everyone's dropping like flies this week.
C
Yeah, I was, I was gonna say for the men, it's been a little tough with the three out of five. Obviously the big news was Yannick losing yesterday, which I happened to watch most of that match because it was on in the morning and I was up pretty early. But what are we thinking about that? That was pretty wild.
B
I mean, he was up 5150636251. So I turned it on in the locker room and it was 5, 4, love 40. And our locker room was buzzing because it was like, where did he go? He kind of just left. And I think everyone was so confused, like what had happened because yeah, he
A
lost like 15 of 18 points from 51 or 5 2. I can't do math to like lose the set. And then it just seemed like he couldn't ever really fully recover. And then it was pretty one sided, the opposite way.
B
To me, I thought it was he was gonna take, you know, the a set or a set and a half to just kind of regroup and then like, okay, come out blazing. But that did not happen. He tried.
C
It's actually kind of like what happened to Casper. He was up, what, two sets to love? 5, 3, 40, love. Serving, maybe not serving, I don't know. But he, who is he playing? Safulin. And he came back. Yeah. And ended up winning that set. And then like the heat hit him and he died. Took the 6, 0 4th set loss. Because he even said afterwards he's like, I just needed to like conserve some energy. He said he literally died. We saw Mensik. He went off in a wheelchair, but he won the match or something.
A
Well, I think he like collapsed after the match and then like full body cramped on the ground.
C
That's crazy.
B
The best was when the opponent came up to him and shook his hand. And then he was kind of like, wait, I actually like need help. Someone come help me. Because he couldn't get up. He was just in full body cramp.
D
Oh yeah.
C
But yeah, yeah. Can you imagine how much Francis was probably how many outfits do we think Francis went through for his 4 hour and 40 something minute match?
A
I followed Francis So I was actually watching that match pretty much from the start to finish, which also I told him before the match, I was like, can we keep this snappy? And he looked at me and he was like, you know, it's going five.
B
How about his rap?
C
You like wanted it.
A
Yeah. He like lost his racket in the crowd after the celebration. Yeah, he like went in to celebrate with the crowd and he came out with no racket. Yeah.
C
And he just let it go too. He didn't even like try to get it. He just went and ripped off his shirt and celebrated.
B
And then he was like, oh, wait, I need my racket back.
A
And then they found, they found whoever took it.
B
They found Karen.
A
It's been returned. But I want to say, I think he told me he brings like 15. 15 or 15 or like 18 shirts or something. Cuz he changes. He changes his shirt like almost every other changeover, I think.
C
Yeah, it's a lot.
A
Every time. Every time.
B
So much.
A
They would like go to him on the changeover. He didn't have a shirt on. I was like, he's shirtless again. Never has a shirt on.
D
Showing off his bod.
B
I'll never forget, like at U.S. open. What's ingrained is those red shirts like on the ground. And it was just like. It was the pile. Just soaked the pile. Yeah.
C
Crazy.
D
Do you guys change during a match? Never. Yeah, I've never, I've never changed. I don't even have change of clothes on court.
B
Oh, in Florida. In Florida I do. Like in the juniors I would change every time, but like, not if I'm going to a 10 point breaker because I don't have time for that. 90 seconds. No.
C
That's so hard to change though, when it's sweaty. Okay, girls, understand trying to take off a sports bra when it's glued to your body is absolutely like the worst possible thing ever.
A
And like it's more so putting on a new one when you're sweating and you're on the clock. Because you have three minutes. No, five minutes. Kit changes. Five minutes, I think. But you have five minutes from the time that you enter the room, like enter the bathroom to change. Taking off your sports bra is one thing, but like pulling on a new one and then pulling on like new spandex as you're still sweating. It's impossible.
C
Have you guys ever cramped trying to take off a wet sports bra? Because I have.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah, me too.
C
Like not full cramped, but like we're like something spasms up. Yeah.
B
To our horror movies. That's a good one.
C
That's horrible. Horrible. So, yeah, I don't. The only time I would change is maybe like the. My shorts or a skirt because sometimes if it's so sweaty it drips down into my shoes and then my shoes get wet. So maybe dire situation. If that's happening, I would change the bottom. There's no way I'm changing the top because I cramp or I change the socks and shoes because it only affects me if my shoes get wet because that's.
B
I usually will change my socks if I don't change my kit. I will definitely change my socks at least once or twice in a match because, you know, that helps with the blisters too. Yeah.
C
What are our fave kits that we've seen?
D
Maddie and J. I loved mine. Yeah.
C
I'm so sad I didn't get to wear it any longer.
B
Wear it when you're home.
A
Yeah.
C
I can wear it the next few tournaments.
B
But I love the ballerina kits. The onesie. Maddie knows I like it. Her butt looks good in it does.
A
Is obsessed with my butt this week.
D
Yeah.
A
Crazy.
B
It looks great, though.
C
Like, does everyone.
D
I wish.
C
Does everyone know that under that Nike dress, it is a onesie? It's like a legit onesie.
A
Well, it's like.
D
Can you explain it?
C
Yeah.
A
So you have to. You have to like, climb into the dress. You don't pull it over your head. It's like a full one piece. It's like a. You know, like the short jumpsuits that, like, people will wear like a. Like a romper. Like an athletic romper or something. So it's like that. And then it just has the dress over the top of it. But then the ball shorts are like see through mesh.
C
See through.
A
And then it's. The whole inspiration was like ballerinas. So it looks like a leotard and the whole center is like the darker green color. And so I keep saying it's like. I mean, I'm just like cheeked out because my butt is just out there. Looks good, but I'm kind of into it.
C
Jane Fonda, Paula Abdul. Like, but without the dress part. Like, if you took it off.
D
Oh, my gosh. Yeah.
C
80s.
B
Yes.
C
Aerobic vibes.
A
I was. I was like, not totally. I was like, can I wear this? And Coco was like, it's hot. It's fine. Like, it's hot outside. If you. You look good in it. She's like, your butt looks good, so you might as well.
B
If you got it.
D
I'd be cheeked in not cheeked out.
B
I actually didn't like. I love the Adidas kit. Like, the dress. I love the dress with it. Like, kind of like vintage, like, varsity kind of.
C
Yeah.
B
I don't explain that.
C
The collar.
B
Collar. And I like the two piece of
D
that and the dress.
C
Adidas.
D
It looked like. Like where you put the balls. Like, it was like. It almost looked like it was tucked in, but it wasn't. It had like.
C
Yeah. Like, it has, like a. It comes up on the side a little bit.
D
Yeah. Yeah, I like that because usually we tuck it in because it gets. It just feels like restricted hitting your leg.
C
Yeah.
D
Yeah. So that looks cute.
C
And speaking of Coco, I love. I love her outfit. I love both of her outfits. I think they look. Yeah. So pretty. I'm obsessed with the color, obsessed with the cut. They look so good on her. 10 out of 10.
D
Yeah, they look really good.
A
I like all the Wilson outfits, too.
B
Oh, they always look so good. I mean, I think Peyton. I mean, everyone who wears it looks really good, but Peyton, I think, stands out. This is the last person I saw, and she looks so good in it.
A
I also really like Elena's Yonex dress.
C
Yes, I did like that one.
A
It had, like, the accents of orange.
B
I did like Yastremska. She wore, like, a. An orange skirt with a crop top, and she had, like, the high socks. It actually looked really good on her and just on her skin tone as well.
A
I feel like the. The men's outfits are kind of boring.
D
Yeah.
B
What about the hot pink? The hot pink on Tommy?
C
Oh, Tommy.
B
Yeah.
A
Highlighter pink is bright.
C
Yeah. Not obsessed with bright.
A
They've done, like.
C
I saw him in the gym, and I was like, dude, that is pink. And he's.
A
They went from. What, like. What did he call himself? He said he was a Teletubby in Australia. The, like, full purple and then now the highlighter pink. They're going for some bold colors, which I respect.
C
I think it looks really good on McCartney and Serana. But I don't know if I loved it in, like, the T shirt on the men and then, like, the shoes, but then. And then it's like black shorts. It just wasn't.
D
Yeah.
B
The combinations weren't two different contrasts.
D
Yeah.
C
Yeah. Too much contrast.
D
Like, maybe white shorts.
B
I don't know.
D
I'm no designer, so maybe I'll just.
B
Oh, white could have worked out nicely.
D
Shut my mouth.
C
Yeah, White or a lighter pink or an orange or something. But the black, it's not. Not my favorite. So we've all heard too, that Serena is coming back on the grass court season. She's playing with Vicki and Boko in Queens. And are there other tournaments she's playing with her or just Queens that we know? Queens and Berlin.
B
Berlin together. I don't know that. Just speculation. But I definitely know that it's Queens.
C
Queens for sure.
B
I hope I don't draw them first round.
D
Yeah, it does. Probably.
B
I'll let you guys know.
D
Let us know how she sells. She's looking out there.
C
I wonder what she's gonna be wearing when she comes back.
B
Do you think if, like, do you think Vicky is like, oh, my God, this is so cool. Or is she like, oh, crap, kind of nervous now? Like. Both.
D
Yeah, both.
B
It's such a cool opportunity too.
D
Yeah. I think. I'm sure it helps that she's top 10. Like just.
C
She has a little experience.
D
Yeah. With. And also just like self confidence.
B
Yeah.
C
If you're ranked like 300, you probably wouldn't.
D
Yeah. Like, if I was playing with Serena,
B
I'd be like, if it were me too, I'd be.
D
Lose this, like, it's 100 on me.
A
Me.
B
It's my fault. You just take everything off the back. I'll do the. I'll do the net part.
C
I mean, it's just crazy, like also that she's so. Oh, there goes a headphone. That she's so young and like, just imagine like she's 18. Like, she probably never in her life thought she would have the opportunity to play with Serena. To play with Serena Williams.
B
Amazing.
A
It's also crazy when you think about the longevity of Serena Williams, that we grew up watching her and now Vicky is playing doubles with her.
D
Yes.
B
She was crazy.
D
She was probably in diapers. She was born. Yeah. Yeah. Was she even born yet or.
A
Hold on, I'm pulling up when I'm pulling. She was born in 2006.
D
Yeah. Serena was like in her prime and she was like, not even saying mama, Like, it's crazy.
A
It's crazy.
C
What about. Speaking of young. Oh, my goodness. 17 year old Moyes Kwame is the youngest man to reach the third round of a major since Raphael Nadal. 17 years old. Oh, my gosh.
D
Yeah.
A
How the atmosphere on Langland yesterday was amazing. Crazy.
D
Yeah, I bet.
B
Not even also that, you know that walkway between all the other smaller courts, it was completely packed of everyone watching the big screen and everyone cheering. I mean, it. It was such a cool thing to witness, but he was up, what, 6? Was he a 51 or 61 in the breaker and it got back and we were all like, oh, no, come on, dude, you got it. Like, we're pulling.
A
He was so cool. He was. He went huge celebration after the second set, and I was like, my guy is feeling it. Like, that was your energy. Yeah. He has a lot of adrenaline running through him. But it was so funny because even inside we could. We were joking because we knew if he won the point or not, because you could hear the entire crowd after every single point that he won. It was. It was very fun to listen.
C
So he seems like he has such a sweet, like, innocent personality, too. Like, he's. You can tell he's 17 and, like, it's also new to him, which I just think is so fun to watch. Like, people experience, like, have that experience for the first time. Like, it's just so real and it's, like, so cute and it was so funny. I think the video has gone viral of him where he said his favorite
D
women's player was veteran Kavinova, but she doesn't play anymore. Yeah. So now.
C
So it's. It's Raina.
D
Yeah.
C
But yeah, it's like, incredible story. And he just. I don't know, it seems. He seems, like, very sweet and nice and. Yeah, you can just tell it's just all new to him and he's loving every second of it.
A
It's always so fun to have, like, an amazing storyline of someone doing well at their home slam and everyone is excited and the crowd gets so behind them. I just. I always love that storyline because it happens. It happens occasionally, but when it does, it's just so fun.
B
It's so fun to back, you know, and get behind them and rally behind them.
C
Such a rare experience, too. Like, not many people have that experience like, anybody, even in other sports. Like, where do you have, like, a country behind you, like, in that atmosphere? It doesn't happen very often. Especially that.
B
Just cheering for every single.
C
For one person.
D
Yeah. No.
B
And they can literally get you through the matches.
C
Yeah. There's been obviously some more drama. Unfortunately. We saw Haley Baptiste land awkwardly
B
and
C
that was just awful to see. Like, I. I don't even know what to say. I think we all just feel really, really bad and hope that she recovers okay. It's not going to be easy, but that was really tough to watch because she's been playing some really great tennis.
B
Yeah, it was tough to see that.
A
And.
B
Yeah. But wishing her, obviously. Hope everything goes well.
C
And there was some. Some other drama. Wangjin. It was Wang Xinyu. Right. That. Yeah. Crossed the net to touch to. Yes. To look at a mark. And then there was, like, no handshake, which was also a little strange for anyone that doesn't know you're really. I don't. You're not allowed to do that, really? Unless. Can you ask permission?
B
Is it in the rulebook?
C
You could ask?
A
I think so. I don't think you're allowed to cross into your opponent's side domain.
D
Yeah, it's always been, like, a thing. Yeah, but it's always been, like, a thing. But I guess it's never. A couple times I've seen it where someone crosses the net and then the chair empire is like, whoa, whoa, whoa. Like, get back on your side. But she was, like, literally, like, she didn't even baseline for that. Like, on the other side of the net on the baseline, like, pointing at the mark.
B
Like, she stormed at it. But that's also what resulted to the handshake, because I think it was kind of like they were talking about the ball mark. And then court brush was kind of like, well, you didn't agree with that call. I'm not shaking your hand. So then it just got a little awkward. But, yeah. Yeah. I don't know if I would ever go to the other side of my opponents. I mean, I can't even see the ball mark anyways from, like, if I'm over the net because I'm blind. But, like, it's trust the call from the line of fire.
A
But I will say, have you ever. Have you ever, like, not questioned a mark and been like, oh, I must have missed it? And the chair confidently tells you. You're like. They're like, yeah, it's this far out. And then you go to the other side and you see it, and you're like, this is in.
C
What are you talking about? That happened in my match. I, like, hit the corner of the line. I'm like, oh. And she went down and looked and whatever. And. Because you know when you can tell, your opponent, like, knows it's close, so, like, it's worth checking.
B
Yeah.
C
And she went down and checked, and then I, like, could see it from the other side. And I was like, that doesn't look long. I hit in the corner of the AD side, like, the. Where the lines meet. And she said it was long, and I said, you said it was long. And she's like, yes. So of course I end up winning the game. But I went over to the other side, and I'm, like, looking at it, and I'm like, you seriously thought this Was long. It hit the corner of the box like it was. I would have believed her more maybe if she said it was wide almost. But she said long. And I'm like, you said skeptical now. I just looked at her and I. So, yeah, that definitely happens a lot. But there's nothing. You don't want to stall and, like, question every single mark going back to
B
the cross the net. So if you ask for permit, can you ask for permission to be like, can I actually go see the mark?
A
No, No, I don't think I thought you could.
C
Oh, I think I used to do that in juniors.
B
Then I did that in juniors because I'd be like, can I go and see it? And they're not threatened, so they're like, yeah, come on over. And then we'd look at it, but then if we didn't agree, we'd bring the chair over.
D
Yeah.
C
Really? I've asked before.
A
Yeah.
D
I've never questioned a call.
C
Huh.
B
Well, that's just looking back, I guess, in juniors.
D
Yeah, I just. Yeah, that was the worst.
B
When they would.
D
When they would think that you're cheating and then they'd hook you back and call, ball out. That lands in the middle of the box. Come on.
B
It's like juniors.
A
Juniors in South Florida. You crazy.
B
Yeah.
D
Yeah.
A
The best is, like, especially growing up on green clay, when people would make marks with their feet, they'd circle it and they'd be like, yeah, that's the mark. They'd be like, I just saw you make the mark.
C
You would just like, yeah, do the little toe like when you walked away. And then you turn around. Oh, there it is.
A
Oops.
C
Crazy.
A
Okay. We've been in Europe for a while now, and it's been hot. It really makes me miss AC being cold at night in my quince bedding because it's always light, breathable, and genuinely comfortable.
D
It's luxury without the markup, so it's the perfect balance where everything feels elevated but still effortless.
B
It's time for a summer upgrade, and I love that they have duvet covers in seasonal colors and timeless patterns like stripes and soft neutrals.
C
They're 100% European. Linen embedding is woven from high quality flax and somehow just gets softer every time you wash it. If you're more of a cotton person, their organic cotton sheets are incredibly soft and breathable. Plus they also make mulberry silk pillowcases and eye masks that help keep your hair smooth and your skin hydrate overnight.
D
Everything at Quint is priced 50 to 80%. Less than similar brands. They work directly with ethical factories and cut out the middleman. So you're paying for quality, not brand markup.
A
Everyone knows I love my sleep. I have the European linen duvet and it really has elevated the quality sleep. I get. It makes being on the road even harder.

A
Okay, so we are going to climb the rankings. Everyone has to rank five scenarios without knowing what's next. Jess, you're going to read. Does her list first.
C
One number we're not sure. Never sweat again.
B
Oh, wait, is one being the best?
D
Yeah.
A
Yes.
B
Okay, that's pretty high up there. 2. I can't go. 1.
C
Your doubles partner never misses another return for a year.
B
Three.
C
That's pretty good.
B
Yeah.
C
Oh.
D
Oh, yeah.
B
But like I want. Yeah, there's three more scenarios. Okay, go ahead.
C
Lifetime of lay down seat upgrades on planes.
B
Oh. Oh, these are hard. Would I say two, three,
C
four spontaneous girls trips with Taylor Swift planning the itinerary.
B
One. Oh, hell yeah.
C
Yeah, that's definitely a one.
A
One, baby.
D
Wow.
B
Okay, what's the last one?
C
Last one. Winning Indian Wells.
B
5. Give Me Taylor Swift with my itinerary, baby.
C
Wow.
B
I'm so pumped. Like I'm gonna manifest this. Come on, let's make this happen.
A
We should have put Taylor Swift at the end.
B
I'm sweating.
C
She's acting like it's actually gonna happen.
B
Yeah.
D
Wait, can you. Can you give us the full one through five? Like how she ranked it?
B
Five was winning Indian Wells. Four. Lifetime lay down seat upgrades on planes. Three is double's partner never misses another return for a year.
D
Two.
B
Never sweat again. And my number one spontaneous girls trip with Taylor Swift planning the itinerary. That would be amazing.
C
A dream.
D
Wow.
C
I feel like you did pretty well.
B
I hope she's listening.
D
Yeah, you did pretty well.
B
Yeah, the never sweating again. It's a pretty good one.
A
Jenny, I have your list. Are you ready?
D
No.
A
Okay. Don't freak out.
D
K go.
A
You get a private driver for life and have no more car debacles.
C
Ooh,
D
I'll go. Five.
A
Okay. Five. Pull in Emma and win US Open as a qualifier.
D
Actually, fun fact. I was supposed to play her first round and I withdrew. And so then she played a lucky Loser. First round. Fun fact.
A
So you basically won the US Open.
D
So I am the wooden spoon. Wow. Win the U.S. stop deflecting. Yeah, I want to see.
B
Say,
D
I feel like there's one in there that's better. So I'm going to go two.
A
Okay. Hosting nsl. Nsl. Jeez. Hosting SNL for one night. Oh. Three, Being a guest judge on Love island four. Oh. Josh Allen hangs out with you and then asks to sit here, box and cheer for you.
C
Number one.
D
That's the one I was waiting for. That's the one I was waiting for. Thank you, Dani. Okay, so my list. I'm actually pretty. I actually really like my list.
A
You did well.
D
Yeah, they were good. So my list is number five, private Driver for life and have no more Car debacles. Number four, being a guest judge on Love Island. Number three, hosting SNL for one night. Number two, pull in Emma and win US Open as a qualifier, which I basically did. Number one, Josh Allen hangs out with you and then asked to sit in your box and cheer for you. Yeah.
B
Do you wish you had love Island 3 or, like, higher, since you love Island. Okay.
D
I only love season six of Love Island.
C
Okay.
D
Usa. Season six, Love island, usa. And I am looking forward to Love island coming back on tv.
B
Well, we'll have to bring that little, like, image of you in the blonde with the pink outfit.
D
Yeah. So funny. Actually, Jesse's sister was Googling me the
A
other day, and she pops up.
B
No way.
D
You type in.
C
Yeah.
D
Jenny Brady, Jennifer Brady, and then go to images. That photo pops up.
B
Yeah, that's funny.
D
Of the Love Island. So, okay, Jess, I get to read you your list.
C
I feel like it's going to be like, Bills won a Super Bowl, Sabres want a Stanley cup, you win a Grand Slam.
B
Or you have infinite Dogs.
D
Something like that. Well, just for everybody. So they know we do not know what the list is before being read to us. Okay, so first one, Buffalo Bills win the Super Bowl.
C
I can do it. Okay. I'll put that at 2.
D
Be a part of creating the next Call of Duty and getting your own character.
C
That would be sick.
D
That would be unreal.
A
With the wings, I would totally. Yeah.
C
Could buy my character.
D
Four, winning U.S. open.
C
See, I knew. Okay, one.
D
Yeah. Dinner with Ronda Rousey and Hilary Duff.
C
Oh, that's such a strange couple. Couple.
D
Duo. Duo.
C
Yeah. A five.
D
Always winning in two sets. No more three set matches.
C
Oh, that sounds great. What do I have left? Three.
D
Yeah.
B
Yeah.
C
Three. Is that done? Am I done?
B
Yeah.
D
Yeah.
A
Yes.
D
Oh, well, that Was so, like, quick.
C
Yeah, I was very decisive. So my fifth one was dinner with Ronda Rossi and Hillary Duff.
B
Four, Lizzie McGuire.
C
Be a part of creating the next Call of duty. Next COD and creating your own character. Three, always winning in two sets. No more three set matches. Two Buffalo Bills won a Super Bowl. And one, winning the U.S. open.
D
Yeah.
B
Is there anything you would change? Okay.
C
Happy. I mean, I throw in, like, sabers, win a Stanley cup, maybe at, like, three. That's what I thought was gonna be in there. And I was like, oh, it's gonna be tough to pick, like, the top three.
B
All right, I have Maddie's list. Oh, man. Are you ready, Maddie?
A
I'm ready.
B
Guaranteed semis in your next 10 tournaments. Three, night out with Sierra to get the summer house tea.
A
I want to say two, but I feel like. Or one, but I feel like there's something else. So I'm going with two.
B
One winning Wimbledon.
A
One,
B
gelato sponsorship with free gelato for life. Four, at talenty, being a guest on watch what happens live.
A
Oh. I mean, it has to go five,
B
but
A
I would maybe rearrange some things.
B
What would you rearrange?
A
I think I would swap gelato and watch what happens live. Okay, so my list was. Five was being on Watch what Happens Live. Four, gelato sponsorship with Free Gelato for Life. Three, guaranteed semis in the next 10 tournaments. Two, a night out with Sierra to get the summer house tea, and one, winning Wimbledon.
B
Those were good lists.
D
Yeah, they were really good.
A
Guys, could you imagine getting the tea from Sierra?
D
Oh, I was gonna say, guys, could you imagine Josh Allen in my box?
C
Do you think you'd play or you'd play terrible?
A
I don't know.
B
Are you just.
D
There's only one way to find out.
B
Every time
C
to find out.
D
Sorry, Haley, you have to stay home.
A
Jenny, someone has watched before, and now I'll babysit after every point.
D
Yeah, I never looked.
A
What did Josh say?
B
Coach Josh?
C
Yeah.
D
I'd be like, oh, Josh can be front row.
B
Oh, my gosh.
C
That reminds me. We skipped Maddie's summer house reunion recap. Should we do that?
A
Yes. We're talking about the reunion.
D
Did.
B
Did everyone watch it?
D
No.
C
Nope.
A
Oh, DEZ watched it does you can give your recaps. No, I've already.
B
Okay.
D
I watched.
B
I don't really have a recap other than, like, I was kind of just, like, waiting for the next dig, but wow. There. I don't even remember people's names. West. And what's the girl? Sierra.
C
You mean Wes?
A
There's no Wes just thought we were just calling him Wesley.
B
I don't even have a recap other than, like, I just never. I've never watched the show other than this reunion part one, and it was crazy. Like, I need to watch the next two parts, but this just makes me
A
feel like when I was watching Vanderpump and I told Jenny, I was like, you have to watch this season and then watch the reunion because the Scandal is happening.
B
It's electric.
D
It was the first time I watched reality TV. It was the Vanderpump Rules season 10, I think it was. And I never watched any episodes or anything prior to that. And then I watched season 10 because Maddie was telling me it's so good. Whatever. Scandal. Scandal. And then I watched Reunion, and I was like, wow. And then I remember. I know, Des, you mentioned the other day that it reminds you this summer house drama reminds me. Reminds you a little bit of Scandal.
B
Yeah. That was wild. I mean, I watched Vanderpump Rules from, like, first episode to that one, and it was wild. But my recap on this was kind of just. Oh, I just. I don't know. I don't know Kyle, but, like, he seems like a nice guy, but, you know, I don't know the ins or outs, but.
A
Oh, I don't know if a lot
B
of people are going to agree with that.
A
I don't think you want.
B
If I love a man, I don't
A
think you want to.
B
And Wes fight for Kyle.
D
We want to.
B
We won't even give Wes the T in his name. I guess so. Yeah.
C
No, I think that from this entire topic.
D
Yeah.
A
Smiling, just can't handle.
C
I'm literally watching joke fiction.
A
I see her looking up at the
B
TV on the background, and then I
C
realized, oh, my God, we're still talking about this.
D
Oh, wow.
A
I feel the other day when everyone was like, oh, my gosh, all of these athletes, and you guys just kept naming people, and I was like, I don't know who that is, and I don't care. And I don't know who that is. I don't care. You're like, yeah, he played this 10 years ago. And I was like, I just. I don't. I don't get it.
C
Yeah. But continue.
B
Yes, Give us a recap.
A
I think my biggest takeaway is that Sierra is rightfully very angry. And I think you could see that from the moment that she started talking. She did look hot. Lindsay looked hot, too. Honestly, they kind of all looked hot. I wish Amanda did something else with her hair, but Amanda's not making the best life choices at the moment. So what can we do? Yeah, I just feel like. I just feel like they just kept getting too. Like they thought that everyone would just be okay if they explained things and if we just clean up the timeline, then it's fine. Which also, it feels like they were still lying about that. But it's just like, you just don't do that to one of your best girlfriends.
B
The best one they were saying about. Has this not ever happened to any of you? Any of you? And Lindsay was like, in high school, we're grown as adults. And she's like, we're not doing this as grown as adults.
A
I don't know. It just didn't feel like they were actually being honest. And also, I've been. I've had a comment that. I've had a comment that I'm a Kyle defender. Definitely not a Kyle defender. Not doing that at all. I think lots of people can be wrong in one situation. And for the sake of Jess, we'll move on. Jenny, you want to do your. Who am I?
C
I was about to say.
D
I was just gonna say bless you. Okay, let's move on to who am I? I'm going to reveal my clues from last week and give my answer. Okay, so here's my clues. I reached at least one tour level final for 19 consecutive years. I married another professional tennis player. You will find me on the highlight reel during the day and streaming on Twitch at night. And drumroll, please. Gail Monfis. And I think everyone here guessed correctly. Yeah.
C
Yes.
B
Yeah.
D
So, Maddie, would you like to give us your clues for who am I?
A
My clues are, went pro when she was 16, speaks five languages and was born in Barcelona, but represents Switzerland.
D
Okay, moving on to low stakes advice and fan questions. First one, have been sort of seeing this guy for over a year now. However, he has now basically ghosted me for the third time over the course of it. The first two times, he had pretty legit excuses. But at this point, I don't know if I can put up with it anymore. Despite how great he is outside of this. Every time it feels like we have something long term and sustainable, something seems to come up that results in me being left in the dark for a few weeks. But I also feel bad ending things over situations that were not necessarily his fault.
A
Guys, I can't.
B
Oh, my God. This is not low stakes.
C
Three times.
A
I can't.
C
Like, yeah, no, yeah.
D
Also, girl, we keep getting, like, very similar. Like,
C
yeah, they like, like, oh, I
A
got ghosted or like, oh, it was a situation that wasn't his fault. Did his phone explode after?
D
Did he lose his fingers? Like he can fall tax.
C
I mean literally take Daniel, email DM. There's 10 million.
B
There's so many ways 10 seconds say,
A
like, oh, hey, good morning, Hope you have a great day or like, hope you had an amazing day or sorry, I've been slammed. Can't talk but like, let's try to catch up later. It's so simple. It's so simple.
B
There's so many different ways. Voice, note, text, face, facetime, video message. You can even record a message. There's just so many.
A
If he wanted to, he would talk
B
to touch, but he doesn't.
D
Yeah.
A
No.
C
Three times.
B
I need to just have, get. I think I should have like a red flag. Like.
D
Yeah, red flags.
B
Low stakes advice for the low stakes.
D
We need a red flag.
B
I need to get one of those. Amazon.
C
Yeah.
B
Wow.
C
No, there's not much to say there.
B
Don't feel bad.
D
His loss, his loss.
B
Move on. As Jenny says, go swimming.
D
Yeah, go swimming. There's plenty of fish in the sea. As an amateur player, I get nervous after a few double faults or when it gets tight in the score. Every time I watch you all play or watch professionals in general, I think, oh, they're professionals. They don't get nervous. They don't let things get to them like I would. Do you get nervous still when it gets close or when you've double faulted a few times, etc. I know you have mental coaches too.
B
Of course I don't have a mental coach.
D
Yeah.
B
This group chat is my mental coach. Okay.
C
Yeah. I have, I have three of great advice. We give great advice other, but like, we don't always take the advice very well.
D
You guys give great advice. Yeah.
A
I feel like sometimes. And then we just, we should read the advice we're getting or we're giving and just like into the mirror. Just like look at her. Just read.
C
You can do it to ourselves.
D
Yeah.
B
You are strong.
C
We still get nervous.
D
Yeah.
C
Are you kidding me? Yeah.
A
Yeah.
B
And to care and also like it's, it's.
C
You're human.
D
Yeah. You can't just be a zombie out there. It's like impossible to detach emotions. It's just how kind of how you recover or handle it. And also just getting reps in those situations I think is really helpful knowing you know what you've done so you don't repeat it. If you get nervous and you double fault and you think, oh, I don't Want to double fault. So maybe don't think I don't want to double fault. Otherwise you might double fault again.
B
Say double fault one more time.
A
I feel like everyone is a little bit different, but it's just kind of whatever works for you is important to like, remind yourself of like, I know sometimes, like Des has said it before where and like all of us are like, yeah, fully agree. Where it's like you get nervous and you feel like your feet totally stop moving. And it's like, so just a little reminder of like, okay, make sure my feet are moving. Or like, if you're defaulting. Yeah, make sure that. Okay, I need to make sure that I like, go after it and like, brush up on the back of the ball or whatever big targets to have something that you're thinking about that's not just like, oh, my God, I hope I don't make a mistake again.
C
Yeah, yeah. It's definitely going back to those, like, tips and focusing on other things that are still helping you win the point or hit a good serve or whatever strategy. Like focus on this instead of focusing on how nervous you are. But like, the nerves are always there. It's just how handle it. And I think like Jenny said, experience always gives you that better feeling when you're back in those moments. But it still doesn't change sometimes how you feel and also just depends on like, the day you wake up. Like, sometimes I wake up and you go through the match and you feel like, really great. And then sometimes I'm like, whoa. Like I'm super nervous and there's really no rhyme or reason why. It's just like, I don't know the stress that's accumulated through like the last couple weeks or how practice has been going or a million other factors that happen. If somebody. Something happened. Personally, like, it changes so much, but I would say, yeah, it definitely will happen and just focus on other things.
B
I think you can also do maybe like an exercise. Like there's one exercise that I do in practice. It could be, you know, pressure situations where, okay, if serving like you said, is you're double faulting too much, maybe do some do games where you're like, okay, I need to win this game by like hitting two serves in a row and actually going after it. I think if you put yourself in those pressure situations in practice, it'll help you in your matches to get better and not as like nervous in those situations. So you could try that. Let us know if it works.
D
Yeah, or play scores like 30. All 30. 40 serving 40 15.
C
Yeah.
B
Or with the second serve only. So there's so many different ways.
C
I used to do the one where like I would do a really hard drill physically, like two on ones or something where you're running and your heart rate's super, super high. And then I'd have to go and make like 10 second serves or go serve like a full game. So it was kind of like. Cause it's hard to replicate pressure and it's never the same when you're in the moment. But I think if you can like get your heart rate up or get tired and kind of try to recreate that situation as close as you can, that that's what I used to do when I was younger.
