This is the Players Box.
Desiree Krafczyk
Hi everyone, welcome back to the players box. I'm Desiree Krafczyk alongside Jenny Brady, Madison Keys and Jess Pugula. As always, a friendly reminder to please give our podcast five stars and subscribe on YouTube. We are recording this before the semifinals of Roland Garros so by the time this comes out we will have both champions ready to go. But first, let's get into our unforced errors.
Madison Keys
Maddie My unforced error, which currently doesn't have a resolution, I actually need to go fix that. After we film yesterday I decided to treat myself. I went and I got a facial post flight and was like all excited. Great. Came out feeling great and I realized I had a parking ticket on my windshield and I was like I definitely paid for parking. Like I stood there and typed in my license plate and everything. So like that's so weird. Like I for sure paid open the envelope and it says that my license plate, like the sticker is expired, which I checked and it is in fact expired. And I was like, that's weird. I didn't get like the letter that tells you, hey, just warning you, like you need to renew your registration, whatever. It's like that's kind of weird. So when I got home I tried to get on the DMV like website and it basically kept telling me that I was like not a person. And I was like I'm definitely a person because I just got a ticket. So I'm confused as to how this is working. So like, try to get into the portal, like saved password, insert save password. And it's like, you're not a person. So then I tried to like re enroll and it again kept telling me that I'm not a person. So eventually, like hours later, after contacting someone, I had to re enroll within the DMV, which I've been in for over 15 years. Finally got in go to renew my registration and it tells me that it's renewed through 2027. And I was like, okay, I didn't pay for it. I don't have it in the mail. I never got like a notice in the mail. So then I went through my credit card statements and I never paid for it. But online it says that I'm set through 2027 and I'm not eligible to renew my license plate right now. So I'm like, okay, I don't know, I don't know what to do. But like, I can't drive my car right now because my registration isn't up to date. I have a parking ticket that I need to somehow pay, but I can't. Like, I don't want to pay it yet because I'm confused as to what's happening. The DMV thinks that I'm not a real person. And so I have to go to the DMV today and try to figure out where my registration renewal is if I need a replacement. Like why it never got sent to my house, why it thinks I'm not a real person. And I'm so pumped.
Jenny Brady
Wow.
Madison Keys
Geez.
Desiree Krafczyk
Sounds like a headache.
Jess Pugula
Do you know if the, the DMV you're going to is like a good one or a bad one?
Madison Keys
Yeah. Are there good DMVs?
Jess Pugula
Yeah, yeah. The one in Loxahatchee?
Jenny Brady
Yeah, I'm obsessed with it.
Jess Pugula
Yeah. No, because I tried to go to like the one in West Palm when I had my driver's license. Whatever. I couldn't renew online for something too. And I literally walked in and the lady's like, I had an appointment and she's like, oh, it's like two hour wait. And I was like, what? I just walked out and it. But that one's like, yeah, it was really bad. But then I found an appointment at the Loxahatchee one, which is maybe a little bit further. And it was the greatest experience, like, of my life. Wow. It was brand new and it was like huge. And I like was in and out and it was amazing. It was an amazing experience. I was like telling Jenny, you have to go to this DMV it's so cool.
Jenny Brady
I was like, should I just make an appointment?
Jess Pugula
Like, without having, just for fun, leave
Jenny Brady
a review on couch?
Madison Keys
Hopefully this DMV is good. I doubt it's going to be because it just feels like the DMV hates me right now. So it's probably gonna be a grind. But I have all of my paperwork ready. I just, like, I genuinely don't understand how I never got the renewal notice. I never got the sticker in the mail. I never paid for the new sticker. And yet somehow in the system, it's saying that I have a new sticker.
Desiree Krafczyk
So do you get it for free
Madison Keys
or we're gonna find out. Jenny.
Jenny Brady
Well, speaking of DMV and cars, it's not bad, but. So yesterday it was raining all day, and I left the gym and was going to my car, and I was at my car and I was unlocking the door and trying to open the door, and I was like, what the heck? Why won't it open? And so I kept pressing the button. I was like, oh, my gosh, my battery died. Like, how am I going to get inside my car? And so I'm standing there for, like, I don't know, like, 20, 30 seconds, like, trying to open it, trying to press the button, like, lock it, then open it. And I'm like, oh, my gosh, it got wet, like, from the rain, so now I won't be able to get in. And then I look inside and I'm like, wait, since when do I have, like, a mug with a cat on it? And then I was like, oh, my gosh, this is not my car. And so my car was like, I don't know, like, five cars down. And today I did the same thing.
Madison Keys
Oh, my God, Jenny.
Jenny Brady
But as soon as I went to unlock the the car, I looked at it and I was like, whoa, it's dirty. And then I was like, no, no, no, not my car. And then I backed away and left.
Madison Keys
So, yeah, I like that your first thought is that your battery is dead and not. This isn't my car.
Jenny Brady
Yeah, because it was raining and I was like, oh, no. Well, sometimes I go to lock the door and it doesn't lock right away. So I, like, press it like, five or six times so I think that the battery is dying. And I was like, today was the day. This was the day, you know? And, yeah, it just. It wasn't my car.
Jess Pugula
Are you still hitting the curb?
Jenny Brady
Yeah, I went pretty hard today. I stopped sending photos to the group because it's just like, you gotta be trying it at this point. But.
Madison Keys
So, like, have you. Have you considered going back to the eye doctor?
Jenny Brady
No, I think it's more. I don't know if it's. If it's like spatial awareness or it's not my eyesight. Although maybe since I would try to get into the rock, maybe.
Jess Pugula
Maybe you need to go back to the dmv.
Jenny Brady
Maybe I need to make a driver's license. Maybe I need to make an appointment.
Madison Keys
Redo a driver's test.
Jenny Brady
No, I. I don't want to redo that. I don't want to do any of those tests. But anywho. Desiree.
Desiree Krafczyk
Oh, well, I think everyone knows my unforced error, but I guess the whole shambles of getting into this recording, I couldn't even figure out the blind situation. I looked pale on one side and you guys were trying to help me out. Didn't work out. And then I was trying to get into my room. So I had maybe like 30 minutes of practice here in London and I was hustling to get into my room and my room's not ready. So they put me into a different room and they were like, yeah, it'll be ready soon, it'll be ready soon. So they obviously called me in the middle of this recording. I don't even know if we got that. But now it's ready. It's just been chaotic, so I haven't even showered after practice. So I guess that's my unforced error. But at least I'm wearing black so you know, you can't really see my sweat.
Jess Pugula
So you're in a. You're in a temporary room?
Desiree Krafczyk
Yeah, I'm in a temporary room and my room is ready now, so I'm having to not make a mess in this temporary room. But I did eat the biscoff crackers in here cuz I was really hungry. So I'm going to have to replace those and then move to my new room. Bit chaotic, but we'll make it work. Jess.
Jess Pugula
Mine was more of like a minor inconvenience, but still just like kind of wrecked me. I finished my whole day, was sitting on the couch and was like, I'm gonna instacart some stuff from Sprouts because Jenny kept talking about Sprouts recently. It's like, oh, you know what? I actually haven't like gone there in a while. I'm gonna like look on Instacart and see if I can order some groceries because I was super tired and I'm like, oh, that's weird. Sprouts isn't. Doesn't deliver to my house. Like, that's so weird. Why isn't it on my instacart has everything else. And I also mentioned something like Lowe's Foods, which I've never even heard of before. I was like, since when is there a Lowe's Foods buy in Boca? What is that? Anyway, so I'm going through all these comments. I do a whole car. I do like a slow cart situation where I'm sitting on the couch, like, watching tv. I mean, like, over an hour goes by and I'm still kind of like randomly adding things. I'm looking up, like, recipes. I want to make, like, all this stuff, whatever, researching, like the different stuff. And I go to order it and like, I ordered it and it's like now delivering to Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. And I was like, oh, my God. I was like, what? And I was like, that's why there's no freaking sprouts. I think I ended up ordering from like a different grocery store at that time. So I had to cancel it. But then you can't, like, keep your cart. I tried. And so then I had to redo the cart.
Desiree Krafczyk
Oh my God.
Jess Pugula
And I would just like, I had like a mental breakdown before it for it. Like, like I had to actually take a break for like 30 minutes and like hype myself up to actually redo the cart. I had to do a major mental reset. Like, I kind of crashed out. I like went and made like a snack and a drink. And I was like, I don't know if I can do this. Like, I don't know if I can. I just, I can't. And I somehow got my stuff together and managed to redo the cart. But it really, it's so annoying. I was so mad, especially because I did this long drawn out process. Like, it was like an enjoyable, like, lay on the couch and just random things. And then I couldn't remember the random things that I did in the original cart. It was straight.
Desiree Krafczyk
So who got your order?
Jess Pugula
I canceled it. I canceled it, like, right away. So it was fine. But it doesn't save any of the cart items, you know, like, in your history. But then it was fine because I did sprouts anyways, and there wasn't sprouts. I think it was like Fresh Market or something.
Jenny Brady
Jess Texa was like, what is Lowe's Foods? Is that like homegoods? And I was at Whole Foods.
Jess Pugula
No, I asked if it was like Lowe's. Like, yes. Hardware store.
Jenny Brady
Yeah, Home Improvement store. Yeah, like, I said, home goods.
Jess Pugula
Oh, like the home. Like the.
Jenny Brady
Yeah, like the HomeGoods. Yeah. And I was in Whole Foods at the time, and I don't have service in that Whole Foods for some reason. And as soon as I read it, I was like, oh, no way. There's a Lowe's here. Because my sister was talking about it, and I was like, oh, my gosh. Cool. And I was like, wait, I thought they were only in North Carolina. In South Carolina. And. And then my text never sent until I got out, and then, like, I totally forgot about the whole thing. And then 30 minutes later, you were like, I just ordered from the wrong place. And I was like, oh, that makes sense why Lowe's showed up.
Jess Pugula
Yeah, a lot of things made sense after I realized I was in South Carolina, so. Yeah.
Desiree Krafczyk
Well, who won the forced error? I'm gonna say Jenny.
Jess Pugula
Jenny or Maddie. I mean, going to the DMV is probably.
Desiree Krafczyk
I mean, that says.
Jenny Brady
Yeah, I think Maddie is just an inconvenience.
Desiree Krafczyk
But also, you make it sound. Just was making it sound like the DMV was amazing, which I kind of want to go experience, because I've never had a pleasant experience at a dmv.
Jenny Brady
I'll take you when you come.
Jess Pugula
This was magical. I can't explain it. You should go. Because I'm not exaggerating. It was a great experience. But that is the minority, clearly.
Desiree Krafczyk
Well, can't wait to hear what Maddie's update is.
Madison Keys
I know I'm more so just like, will I ever be able to drive my car again, or do I have to wait until February of next year to drive my car?
Desiree Krafczyk
Surely you can drive your car to the dmv.
Madison Keys
I have an expired license plate.
Jenny Brady
I wouldn't.
Desiree Krafczyk
Yeah, well, some people have driven.
Madison Keys
I might get another ticket.
Jess Pugula
Say, you guys would know what some people.
Desiree Krafczyk
Some people don't drive without.
Madison Keys
I feel like, a license.
Jenny Brady
Jess would risk it. Oh, there's a copy registration.
Jess Pugula
I. You have to look it up. I. The registration may be more tough, but if you have an appointment, like, what is the. Like, they're gonna pull you over, and you're gonna be like, I have an appointment. It's not like you're a reckless driver.
Madison Keys
So apparently, I have to. Like, I can fight my parking ticket if I prove that I had my registration before the date of my ticket. But, like, I don't know where my renewed registration is in the world, so.
Jenny Brady
So you're gonna get it today.
Madison Keys
I'll update you guys.
Desiree Krafczyk
Yes, we want live updates.
Jess Pugula
The license if you Google, like in Florida, you can drive with an expired license up to like six months.
Madison Keys
Six months?
Jess Pugula
I think so. That's why I didn't care. But I don't know about registration.
Madison Keys
No, your Registration. It's only 30 days
Jess Pugula
in your past February.
Desiree Krafczyk
A little.
Jess Pugula
I would still drive.
Madison Keys
I'd prefer not to get another parking ticket.
Desiree Krafczyk
Jess is living on the edge.
Jess Pugula
Yeah.
Jenny Brady
Just take Bjornskaar.
Madison Keys
Yeah.
Jenny Brady
Okay. At this point, I think, you know, we love Oneskin. Whether you try a bunch of new products or already have a routine you love, you have to incorporate Oneskin. You won't regret it.
Desiree Krafczyk
Oneskin didn't just make my existing routine better, but it actually works. As we age, our skin cells stop functioning the way they should, which is what shows visible signs of aging. Fine lines and loss of firmness.
Jess Pugula
One Skin's OS1 peptide was specifically engineered to address those. So you're getting everything you expect from great skincare. With OS1 doing something most skincare was never built to do.
Desiree Krafczyk
I've been using One Skin OS one Peptide eye cream and face serum and I absolutely love them and have noticed better hydration and firmness in my face.
Jenny Brady
I also just got the Face spf, which is a tinted sunscreen. It's got those same skincare benefits from the OS1 peptide while also giving you mineral SPF protection from UV exposure. This is really important to us since we're always outside in the sun. So with this, you're protecting against future UV damage while reversing the visible effects of past summers full of sun.
Jess Pugula
And this isn't just my experience. Oneskin's results are backed by four peer reviewed clinical studies, over 10,000 five star reviews, and they've been recognized by Bloomberg as a leader in skin longevity.
Desiree Krafczyk
Born from over a decade of longevity research, One Skin's OS1 peptide is proven to target the visible signs of aging, helping you unlock your healthiest skin now and as you age. Okay. I'm not much of a cook and I'm very bad at meal prepping. So when it comes to dinners, I'm usually making something quick and easy or ordering delivery. This makes it really hard to stay high quality and healthy.

Spring is here. Weddings, tournaments, trips and way more photos. And I realized if you wear glasses, you're wearing them in all of those moments. So if you don't love your frames, you feel it pretty quickly.
Desiree Krafczyk
Before Warby Parker buying glasses always felt way more complicated than it should be. Like overpriced, hard to compare and no real way to tell if something would actually look good on your face.
Jenny Brady
That's why I'm obsessed with Warby Parker. They've made everything so much easier. Their virtual try on lets you see frames on your face in real time from your phone and it actually works.
Madison Keys
I picked up a pair of matte black Durand frames as prescription sunglasses right before the trip and I felt way more confident wearing them. Got a bunch of compliments and they feel super high quality without being crazy expensive.
Jess Pugula

Jess Pugula
Moving into tennis ish headlines. Quick live update for you all. Diana Schneider and Maya Havelinska. Pretty good.
Desiree Krafczyk
Valenca nailed it.
Jess Pugula
Javalinska just won the first set. 7 6. And she just broke first game up 1 0. And she's playing just like I've been watching a little bit at the end of the first set, and it's like they're having really good points, but it just seems like every time Diana, like, starts to maybe get a little momentum, it just is gone. And she. Maya just plays like, a couple really good points. She had a sick, like, flick lefty lob in the tie break at like 4 all just. It seems like everything's just going her way.
Madison Keys
I mean, you never know though. Diana. Diana's waited until the last minute to storm back and roll off a bunch of games.
Jenny Brady
Yeah.
Desiree Krafczyk
Maddie's having nightmares.
Madison Keys
Well, yeah, I more meant Sabalenka. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Cause like, I wasn't up.
Desiree Krafczyk
No, I know you weren't up, but I was talking about your match.
Madison Keys
But yes. Thank you, Desiree.
Jenny Brady
This is like giving flashbacks of.
Madison Keys
But she's so tricky.
Jess Pugula
She just, like, has such good feel. Lefty, she's softy is also interesting.
Desiree Krafczyk
Hey, you don't see many of those matchups too.
Jenny Brady
Yeah, Lefty beat Lefty.
Jess Pugula
Like she just played another, like, phenomenal point. So it's crazy. I mean, if she makes the final, if she wins, that would be amazing. That'd be like another Emma Radicanu qualifier situation.
Madison Keys
Crazy.
Jenny Brady
Yeah.
Jess Pugula
Which is wild.
Desiree Krafczyk
And they said that. That her prize money was almost just as much as she made for making semifinals. Like her total prize, her career.
Jess Pugula
Yeah.
Desiree Krafczyk
And then made the same or even a little bit more in these two
Jess Pugula
weeks that she's only played like 14 hardcore matches this in the past. I don't know what the time frame was, so maybe someone can fact check this, but she basically doesn't play on Hardcore. She only plays on Clickburn.
Jenny Brady
Yeah.
Jess Pugula
It was like basically the summary of that stat. I don't know exactly, but it was pretty wild. I guess we could talk about Diana's win, though. Even though they're playing right now. She came back and beat Sabalenka the other day. I Didn't get to see any of that match. I don't know if anyone watched it.
Desiree Krafczyk
I didn't either. I just knew she was down.
Madison Keys
Maddie. I looked at the score, and Irina was up a set in 4:1. And then I checked again, and she's up a set in 5:3. And I think I was grocery shopping, so I was like, oh, the match is probably over. I got home and didn't even think to put it on because I was like, oh, she's, like, serving for the match, so it's probably over, because Irina doesn't usually let big leads get away from her. And I didn't even think about it. And then all of a sudden, I looked. I was like, wait, it's four zero the other way. And I turned it on. And Diana was playing well, but you could tell Irina was just, like, very. At that point. I didn't see the swing happen, but she was just so frustrated, and it was super windy, and she was having a good time.
Jess Pugula
Yeah, I just was seeing, like, clips of the highlights where they're standing to serve, and they were showing, like, how windy it was. And you could just see the same thing with Felix and Kaboli, which was interesting because then they shut the roof because it was, I guess, so bad. So I don't know how they decide to do that.
Madison Keys
I would like to know if there was a difference, like, in the wind or something. For. Yeah, the. For Diana and Arena versus Kaboli and Felix. I thought it was weird that they closed the roof for wind. I was like, you can do that.
Desiree Krafczyk
I didn't even know they could do that.
Madison Keys
No, they're not supposed to.
Desiree Krafczyk
Only in college, you're allowed to stop play if it's 25 miles an hour. But I don't know if that rule exists anymore.
Jess Pugula
But, like, unless some. Was there stuff like falling and hitting people, like, then I think maybe you could justify, like, well, yeah, this is like a safety hazard. We have a roof. We can close it. But it was really interesting. I think they kept it open for the first set against Felix and Kaboli. And I didn't see the first set, but I was listening to, like, the commentators and the highlights, and they were saying that the match changed kind of once they closed the roof. Like, Flavio was really struggling in the wind. It was kind of an ugly first set, but still, commentators actually thought it would have helped Felix, but Flavio came back and he won the next three sets. So, yeah, interesting that they decided to do that. And I think the roof is closed. Right now, during this match, I don't know why, though. I don't know if it was raining or windy again, which is weird. Totally changes the entire match.
Desiree Krafczyk
Yeah.
Madison Keys
Hot take. I think that if you have a roof, you should close it. If you're. If you don't have multiple matches happening on outside courts and it's. Everyone's gonna have the same.
Jenny Brady
Mm.
Madison Keys
Like, situation and like, same. I can't think of words. Conditions. My jet lag brain is still not working. But, like, I think if everyone has the same conditions, I kind of think that they should close the roof because I hate watching ugly tennis. Because of the wind. Yeah. Like, not as a viewer. It's like, not. You're, like, enjoyable. They're both kind of playing bad and not as, like, a dig to the players, but just like, you can't not play bad. It's just.
Jenny Brady
Yeah.
Desiree Krafczyk
The conditions make it worse.
Madison Keys
Situation. Yeah.
Jess Pugula
Well, when Marta and Mira were on earlier, they were kind of talking about how Marta played with. I think it was like she played her previous match with the roof closed, and then she went and hit outside in the wind to just try to get used to it. And I think. I don't know how long, but when they started the match, the roof was definitely open because she was struggling with the wind. And they were talking about how, like, the players have got to get used to the wind on, you know, that court and blah, blah, blah. It changes matches so much. But I agree. I'm like, you're at the semifinals. Like, you just want to see good tennis, and these players are so good. Just people want to see you play, like, straight up. You don't want to have, like, some other factor, especially when you have a roof. If you don't have a roof, it's whatever. But if you do, like, why don't.
Desiree Krafczyk
Might as well use it.
Jenny Brady
Yeah. Might as well close it.
Jess Pugula
But when they just start kind of like opening it for one match, and then they decide to close it for some other match, like, I don't know how that decision gets made.
Madison Keys
Yeah.
Desiree Krafczyk
I don't also know how it works because it starts running raining in one match, and then what if it. If the next match, they. They keep it closed, depending on how the weather is. But then it could definitely be a factor. So. Yeah, I think it just obviously depends.
Jess Pugula
What about the. The final four? On the men's side, we have Arnaldi, Vers, Caboli and Zver versus Benik Italian. I think we all know it's ver. Slam.
Jenny Brady
Yeah.
Jess Pugula
On paper, but men really playing a job well.
Jenny Brady
So is.
Jess Pugula
Yeah.
Madison Keys
Cavali is so fast.
Jenny Brady
Yeah. Have you seen him, like, how mobile
Jess Pugula
and, like, flexible in the gym every day.
Jenny Brady
Yeah. Like doing these crazy splits.
Jess Pugula
Yes. I see him in the gym all the time. He's always, like, doing these. Like a pretz. Yeah. Jenny, what you should do?
Desiree Krafczyk
Was that sound okay?
Jenny Brady
Well, he should do the. The. The thunderstruck split.
Desiree Krafczyk
Oh, my God.
Jenny Brady
He could do it.
Madison Keys
He could 100 do it. We'll have to show him when.
Jenny Brady
Tell him to join us.
Madison Keys
Do you want to join us?
Jenny Brady
And you could be the only one doing.
Madison Keys
You'll be the one in the front.
Jess Pugula
Yeah.
Desiree Krafczyk
I think Zverev and Mensik will be a good match, but, yeah, playing with. Well, after what he cramped. What was it? What was the match that he.
Jenny Brady
The first round.
Desiree Krafczyk
Full body cramp. Was that his first round?
Jenny Brady
Yeah, he had to get wheelchaired off
Desiree Krafczyk
after that and he was like, you know what? Yeah, you know what? Just keep playing.
Jenny Brady
That's funny. But I mean, I will say I was really rooting for the other Mateo Berrettini to win yesterday and sadly he had to retire. But, yeah, sad.
Jess Pugula
Yeah. I didn't see what happened.
Desiree Krafczyk
They're saying it was a lower body. A lower body injury, but I didn't know if it happened before the match or during. But he could tell. He was visibly limping in the match and his team was just telling him, like, just stop, like, don't continue because it's just make it worse. And obviously he's had his fair share of injuries before.
Madison Keys
Yeah. Sad for him. Yeah.
Jess Pugula
The Arnaldi TFO match, did anyone see that? I just saw. Obviously, Fo was up. I think, Maddie, you were watching a little bit in Paris still.
Madison Keys
I saw a little bit of the first couple of sets, and then Francis was up maybe like 4:1 in the third set and it got tight. It got to a tiebreaker, and then he won the tiebreaker. So he was up two sets to one. And I was like, wow, that was a huge, huge set because it would have been so hard to regain that momentum. And if you lose a lead like that.
Desiree Krafczyk
He was up five, three too.
Jess Pugula
Yeah.
Madison Keys
In the third.
Desiree Krafczyk
Fourth.
Jenny Brady
In the fourth.
Desiree Krafczyk
In the fourth set.
Madison Keys
Yeah, he was up in. He was up in the. It was either the second or the third. He was up a break or a double break as well. And I thought it was so good that he was able to kind of get that back, but I mean, so bummed for him.
Jenny Brady
Yeah.
Desiree Krafczyk
Oh, that was hard. When I woke up, I Was like,
Madison Keys
no, I can't believe.
Jess Pugula
Oh, I watched the end of it, and, yeah, it was tough.
Jenny Brady
What a grind.
Jess Pugula
Arnoldi. Yeah, he's played a lot of tennis. Arnoldi.
Madison Keys
I mean, I think the other thing. It's like, it's so hard to close out a match already when you're tight, especially. It's like, they're tight all of a sudden. There's no Carlos, there's no sinner. It's like all of these guys feel like they have a huge opportunity right now, so I can't imagine how much stress they're kind of all playing with. And then you're trying to close it out against a guy like Arnoldi, who's literally the fastest person on the planet, and getting all these balls and like. Like, it just. It's just so much like, mounting stress. It just.
Desiree Krafczyk
It's.
Madison Keys
Tennis is so hard.
Jenny Brady
Yeah.
Desiree Krafczyk
Yes, it is.
Jenny Brady
I mean, even the other day, Mensik in the fourth, he was. It was like, deuce ad, deuce ad, deuce ad. Like, he had, what, seven or eight match points and then finally closed it out in the tie break.
Jess Pugula
But, I mean, I mean, yeah, even arena being up, like, yeah, it sucks. But things can swing so much, especially on clay, I feel like. Because if someone gets in a rhythm and you just get a little off and her. The conditions were really bad with the wind, and you're playing a lefty, and then all of a sudden, they free up a little bit, and you just go off a little bit. Like, the margins are so small that it's happened. I mean, it happens. We've seen so many matches the last couple of weeks where it's happening all the time, but it seems so straightforward with the scoreline. But it's. It's really. It never. It's never like that.
Madison Keys
Yeah, I mean, I love when people act, like, being up a set and a break, it's like, oh, you've won the match. And you're like, yeah.
Jess Pugula
What?
Madison Keys
No. Yeah, yeah.
Jess Pugula
Even though, like, when you're. When you're playing, too, and you're down, you're like, I'm only down a break. And then you, like. You know what I mean? You have, like, the opposite thought, but then the other people are like, how
Madison Keys
could you lose that on the changeover? You're like, it's one break. Four. One is one break. I'm in this.
Jess Pugula
I'm in every. I'm in every service game. Like, I just got a break. Uh, Maddie, do you want to talk a bit about the night that you Played Mboco. Your third or fourth round? Third round.
Madison Keys
Third round.
Desiree Krafczyk
Third.
Jess Pugula
Third round.
Madison Keys
Third.
Jess Pugula
And PSG won that night. And that stadium for PSG is right next to the site. I was watching and could hear everything. And I. I was like, you know, Maddie's so pissed right now. There's, like fireworks. And you were trying. And speaking of, you were trying to. You. She came back, played amazing. You were trying to serve out the second, and I was like, this is so annoying right now. Yeah.
Desiree Krafczyk
Come on, Maddie, keep it together.
Madison Keys
They're cheering for you.
Jess Pugula
First.
Madison Keys
First. I thought the. I thought the game was, like, in Paris, because I was like, they're making a very big deal about this and it's so loud and whatever. And then I finished and I was like, like, is the team leaving? And they're like, they're not in the country. And I was like, no, wait, that makes sense.
Desiree Krafczyk
They just host.
Jenny Brady
Wait, they didn't play there?
Desiree Krafczyk
No, they, like, host it for the final. So everyone goes and sits in the stadium, does a watch party.
Madison Keys
They watch party at the stadium, but it's not played at the stadium. It's not at the stadium. Yeah, it was.
Desiree Krafczyk
In which I also learned Hungary, wasn't it? Budapest.
Jess Pugula
It was. Yeah, it was a watch party, but,
Madison Keys
yeah, it was like the fireworks just kept going off, which was annoying. But it was more so the fact that it would happen, like, randomly and they're so loud that it was like in the middle of a point. What was that? Because I swear it literally felt like it was happening in the crowd, because, I mean, it's literally across the street and people were in the street essentially, like, doing it right outside that gate. But, yeah, it was pretty wild. Was really glad that I won because let me tell you, it would have been way more annoying if I lost that match.
Jenny Brady
Yeah,
Desiree Krafczyk
they were cheering for you.
Madison Keys
It was more so, like post match, trying to get back to our hotel was crazy. Crazy. The streets were packed. There were fireworks happening, like on top of cars in the. On the sidewalk. Like, it was actually. Some of it was a little bit scary, but, yeah, it was a lot. I was just glad that we got back to the hotel and then did not sleep a whole lot because people were so loud, partying.
Jess Pugula
Yeah. Dez, you were also in Paris. I think a lot of us saw the video of you biking around.
Desiree Krafczyk
I was, you know, just doing my usual bike around the Seine, and I was coming back because I knew I wanted to be away from it and I knew I wanted to be back in my hotel before the game. Ended at least. So when I was biking back, obviously people were, you know, getting the fireworks ready and, like, honking their horns, like when they scored. And then I got back, and I mean, complete. Even in the broad daylight, people were throwing fireworks up like it was crazy. But the day after, I was playing mixed, and they had a parade. So Neil Skepsy, my partner, he was like, hey, just letting you know, like, there might be. You know, there might be a parade and some fireworks. And I was like, what? Like, again, like, what, Are they passing by us or what? So it was in the middle. I think we were up. But I was like, just stay focused. Like, you just hear a couple fireworks. I'm like, come on, it's 4:1. Like, you know, because I will definitely lose focus. And he's like, des, it's okay. Like, you know, fine. It was. It was only for, like, a minute, though. They, like, they bypassed us, and then it was fine. But, yeah, I was, like, just trying to prepare for that. It probably wasn't as bad as Maddie's.
Jess Pugula
I keep. I keep picturing, like, the movie up with the squirrel and the dog, like, does it. The fireworks. She's like, what was that? Fireworks? What was that? Hi there. The other one. What's that noise? Come on, Des. Like, it's okay. Just like, let's focus.
Madison Keys
Yeah. And I, like, looked back at the
Desiree Krafczyk
box, and I was like, here we go with the fireworks. And then I was like, oh, it actually bypassed us real quick, so it was fine.
Jess Pugula
Oh, my gosh.
Madison Keys
Yeah.
Desiree Krafczyk
But 1:30am probably going to sleep there.
Jenny Brady
Those tweets were so funny.
Desiree Krafczyk
Those tweets were really funny.
Jenny Brady
Yeah, it was like, people. It's like Harry Potter.
Desiree Krafczyk
It was really funny.
Jess Pugula
But did anyone see the new Netflix doc with Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert about their rivalry? And obviously they're very, very close. And, well, Chrissy had cancer, and then now Martinez. Cancer diagnosis, I believe. Right. So I think it's a little bit about, like, their friendship and stuff behind that. I just saw a preview for it. I don't know, just, like, recently, the other day.
Jenny Brady
But, yeah, I just.
Jess Pugula
Looks interesting.
Jenny Brady
I think this morning I saw a preview for it.
Desiree Krafczyk
It'll be interesting. I think it'll be a good doc.
Madison Keys
Yeah.
Jess Pugula
Yeah. They're very close, so I think it'll be.
Madison Keys
I've heard, like, some of the stories, obviously, like, Bing growing up with Chrissy and everything. Just, like, the stories of their rival, their rivalry and their friendship and, like, all of that, but it'll be interesting in a Netflix documentary because I think you're gonna get way more of like the very detailed stories and things like that, which I think is going to be so interesting because obviously they're two of the greatest of all time in our sport, but they've also both beaten cancer previously and now at least once, maybe twice.
Jess Pugula
Yeah. I think Chrissy for sure. Yeah. I think Martina already too, because I remember when Chrissy got diagnosed, I thought she. It was a whole thing because she was sharing it with Martina because I think Martina went through it and they're so close and. Yeah. So I'm probably gonna cry.
Jenny Brady
Yeah. Yeah, it will definitely.
Desiree Krafczyk
It's also, it's also amazing. Like, I mean, like you guys said that their rivalry, I mean, such a big rivalry. And then to become so close and later on in life too, it's just, it's really cool to see too that.
Jess Pugula
Yeah, you don't see that very often. Like they're. And not just close, but like going through crazy life.
Jenny Brady
Yeah.
Jess Pugula
Like personally through their personal lives and like.
Desiree Krafczyk
And they can lean on each other for it too. It's just.
Jess Pugula
Yeah. It's really, really cool. So. Yeah. Definitely gonna watch. Probably gonna cry. Study and play Come together on a Windows 11 PC. Okay, we've been in Europe for a while now and it's been hot. It really makes me miss AC being cold at night in my quince bedding because it's always light, breathable and genuinely comfortable.
Jenny Brady
It's luxury without the markup, so it's the perfect balance where everything feels elevated but still effortless.
Desiree Krafczyk
It's time for a summer upgrade. And I love that they have duvet covers in seasonal colors and timeless patterns like stripes and soft neutrals.

Jess Pugula
THE RAFA Doc I think I'm the only one here that has watched it.
Desiree Krafczyk
I have not watched it yet.
Jenny Brady
Yeah, not yet.
Jess Pugula
It's pretty wild. Like, he's very honest and very open, which I appreciate it because sometimes you never know with those things, like, if they're really gonna get into like the nitty gritty or is it just gonna be like, I'm one of the greatest players of all time and I won all these tournaments and like, oh, yeah, it was hard and it was tough and I like. But it definitely. He was so injured, guys. Like, he was so injured.
Desiree Krafczyk
Snippets of it. So snippets of his foot was crazy. And how they molded. How Nike molded a shoe for him. Like, I mean, I. I mean, yeah, I might go watch it tonight.
Jess Pugula
I didn't realize that the whole foot thing and like, I won't give it away, but I didn't realize how young he was when that happened. I thought this was like later on after he like, won a bunch, like, wear and tear. No, this happened when he was like 19 or something.
Madison Keys
But I thought it.
Desiree Krafczyk
I was like, wait, was in the middle of AO when he won against. Who do you play? Medvedev in the final. Theyo his last one. Anybody?
Madison Keys
Fact check.
Jess Pugula
Something? I don't know.
Madison Keys
Yeah. Oh, you thought that's why I thought injured.
Desiree Krafczyk
No, I Thought, no, I knew he was injured, but I thought like it was getting worse towards, like just said the back end of his career.
Madison Keys
Yeah. I forget what Roland Garros it was, but he won it. And they were. I just remember hearing where it was like he was in excruciating pain and basically had to. Was he was like numbing his. Numbing his nerve, but not the like, part of the nerve or like the nerve where it's like you feel the pain, but not the nerve where it was like he had a dead foot.
Jess Pugula
Yeah. That's crazy. That's insane. No, that happened. Like, I think he did that in the middle of the tournament and I think that might have been the last one he won. So, like this foot thing has been going on his entire life, but then it wasn't.
Madison Keys
Was it also that his foot injury is essentially probably what caused his knee injury?
Jess Pugula
Yes. And he kind of talks about that a little bit, but yeah, it was wild. And then also it was. I thought it was really cool just how they showed so much footage of the matches from when he was really young to like all the way till the end. And then just also all the heartbreaking losses he had. Like, he had, I think, match points against Federer, finals of Wimbledon, lost in five. He had match points against Novak a couple times in Australia. Or just like really tough long five setters where they showed a lot of like, really pivotal key moments in the match, which I thought was cool because they didn't just show like random points. They actually showed like huge pressure points that shifted the match for him to either win or lose. And just like his resilience is like, he was just different. Like, it's crazy and you can. And Tony's in it a lot too, so they kind of talk about that dynamic and then also about a lot of the anxiety that he had. Like a lot of his little routines that when he's touching his face and stuff. Like he said the bottles. Yeah, he was really funny, actually. Tony at one point was like. Said he told him to stop. Like, you look like a crazy person. And he was like, I tried to stop, but I couldn't. He's like, this was like my safe space. And then it kind of. And then obviously later he talked about, like his extreme anxiety with. Do you remember when he was like double faulting a lot and he like, couldn't like, serve.
Desiree Krafczyk
Do you guys remember Defaulted in my eyes?
Madison Keys
No.
Jenny Brady
Yeah.
Madison Keys
I'm like, he like, wasn't perfect. At one point he kind of like
Jess Pugula
went off for a bit. I Mean, he's still in the like the quarters of the French, by the way. And he was like. This is like when he was losing to Novak who won like every single match for like two years. So he was still doing pretty well. But a lot of it was. Yeah. Caused by anxiety and just. It was just a. It was. I thought it was really good. But it is a lot of subtitles. It's all in Spanish. Yeah.
Jenny Brady
Wow.
Jess Pugula
What is anyone else watching right now? Quick to end our tennis ish headlines.
Madison Keys
Non tennis shows finished hacks finished off campus. Watch Summer House reunion up to date on Real Housewives of Rhode Island. What else? I feel like I'm watching like everything.
Desiree Krafczyk
I haven't.
Madison Keys
I need to.
Desiree Krafczyk
I need to catch up on Rhode Island. I'm one episode behind. I have not watched any Summer House, only watched the reunion part one and two. So I'm caught up on that part. Wow, it's really juicy. What else am I watching? I'm re watching Jack Ryan so I can get ready for the movie. You know, just gotta.
Madison Keys
Oh, the movie's okay. I prefer the series.
Desiree Krafczyk
Yeah. I guess more shows for me to watch and have not started the other shows.
Jess Pugula
I gotta catch up a bit on the. The Rhode Island. Obviously I don't. That's the only reality TV I really watched. I can't. I can't relate on the others, but I gotta catch up a little bit. And hacks. I'm still not done with hacks. I think I'm gonna save the rest of it for when I go back to Europe because that'll be good.
Desiree Krafczyk
Is anyone gonna watch Love Island?
Jenny Brady
Maybe usa?
Desiree Krafczyk
I'm not a Love island person, but probably not.
Jenny Brady
It's on Peacock.
Madison Keys
I was a. I really liked Love Island UK when I was in the uk.
Jenny Brady
Oh yeah, when you're in the uk. Yeah.
Madison Keys
Because watching it on ITV is like the greatest experience ever.
Jenny Brady
It's every day except for Tuesday or something. Isn't it?
Desiree Krafczyk
Like on a live recording of them,
Jenny Brady
it's like every night.
Madison Keys
No, it's six days a week.
Jenny Brady
Which is.
Madison Keys
It's hard because you really have to commit. And if you miss a couple of days, so many things can happen and then you're totally lost. So you have to watch. It's just too much commitment. I can't do it anymore. I have too much other reality TV to too much drama.
Jess Pugula
I can literally only handle one.
Desiree Krafczyk
So yes, the reunion started small fireworks, I guess.
Jenny Brady
Yeah. I watched the Summer House reunion on Tuesday, but I've never watched the show.
Desiree Krafczyk
So I feel Like Jenny, when she skipped a few episodes. And what did you. What series have you seen? Episodes?
Jenny Brady
Everything.
Desiree Krafczyk
Yeah, everything.
Jenny Brady
Everything.
Desiree Krafczyk
I watched 1, 2 and 6 and 7.
Jenny Brady
Yeah. Literally, that was me. For Real Housewives of Rhode island. And then I skipped. I missed the last four, so now I can't watch. And then if it's on, then I'll turn it on. Watch.
Desiree Krafczyk
At least they give you a recap at the beginning.
Madison Keys
My favorite is that she'll be like, this is my favorite TV show of all time. I didn't watch the entire second season. Season and half the four season, but I love it.
Jenny Brady
Actually. Prison Break. I skipped the entire second season.
Madison Keys
Oh, my gosh. That's insane.
Jess Pugula
How could you?
Desiree Krafczyk
How.
Jess Pugula
It's just the same over and over.
Jenny Brady
No, I like to figure it out myself.
Desiree Krafczyk
So you just have your own ending.
Madison Keys
Got it.
Jenny Brady
No, I. I end, but I just.
Madison Keys
She like pieces. She likes to end together. Okay. Okay.
Jess Pugula
Jenny, do you want to give us a little injury update?
Jenny Brady
Yeah. So, obviously, you know, I shared, I think, a couple episodes ago that I had a knee injury in Charlottesville. During my match. I was hoping to be able to play French Open and Wimbledon, but unfortunately, I ended up getting a couple PRP injections and just kind of easing back into it. Yeah, it's been a grind. Not easy. Which is why I sympathize with Mateo and kind of why I was rooting for him a bit, just with all of his injuries and, you know, time off, time away and, you know, coming back isn't easy either.
Desiree Krafczyk
So.
Madison Keys
Yeah.
Jess Pugula
What's some advice that you've been given, actually, Jess. Jess, collectively that you liked that you think has helped?
Jenny Brady
Well, Jess, one day actually was giving me a little TED Talk and just kind of reminded me why, you know, coming back and why I want to come back, and. And the reason why is because, you know, I love playing tennis and. Sorry. Sorry, guys.
Madison Keys
Don't be.
Desiree Krafczyk
This is great.
Jess Pugula
Yeah.
Desiree Krafczyk
We love you, Jenny.
Jess Pugula
Aw, Jen. We don't have to talk about it if you don't want to.
Madison Keys
Give you a hug. If we were with you. The tears are good. Tears mean you're alive. Tears mean you care.
Desiree Krafczyk
This is.
Jess Pugula
Oh, my God, you're making me cry, Jenny. Okay, I need to hold it together.
Jenny Brady
Yeah. Maybe we can move on. Sorry.
Jess Pugula
No, I'm gonna cry. Well, we're glad we helped.
Desiree Krafczyk
Yeah, we're obviously just. I mean. Oh, Jenny.
Jenny Brady
It's okay. You don't have to say anything.
Jess Pugula
Is this our first time crying on the pod?
Desiree Krafczyk
Do we all cry together?
Jess Pugula
We need to mark this down. June 4th, we all cry.
Desiree Krafczyk
Gosh.
Jess Pugula
Well, shall we move on?
Madison Keys
Big hug. Yeah, let's move on.
Desiree Krafczyk
Wow.
Jess Pugula
We love the tears, though, Jenny.
Madison Keys
Yeah,
Jenny Brady
thanks.
Jess Pugula
I need a second to recover. Who are we going to? Who am I?
Madison Keys
Yeah.
Jess Pugula
Oh, my God. Okay,
Desiree Krafczyk
great. Who wants to start?
Madison Keys
Who am I? Who am I?
Jess Pugula
Maddie, you can decay.
Madison Keys
Are we all good?
Desiree Krafczyk
Okay. I'm good.
Madison Keys
Okay. Well, Jenny, we love you. We are going to jump into who am I? I will remind everyone of my clues, and then Desiree has her pick of this week. My clues from last week were went pro when I was 16, speaks five languages and was born in Barcelona, but represents Switzerland. I believe everyone here got it correct. My person was Jill Teichman. She just made fourth round.
Jess Pugula
Fourth round.
Madison Keys
Fourth round of Roland Garros. Like, she, I think, has been very impressive, took a little bit of a break, and is now coming back and really enjoying it. And her last match, she had, like 30 of her friends and family come to the match, and they were cheering for her. And it's just been so fun watching her play. And you can tell she's just really been happy to be back on the court and having fun. So that was my who am I? Des.
Desiree Krafczyk
Okay, so my who am I? This week, the clues are my best friend is a grand slam champion. I have seven titles, although I'm not being seven specific at which level. And I've called myself dorky in an interview.
Jess Pugula
I feel like Des's clues are always, like, like, riddle, like, hard.
Desiree Krafczyk
Her.
Madison Keys
Her childhood dog's name was Floofy.
Jess Pugula
They're always like, really ra.
Madison Keys
Like, like, I called myself story house.
Jenny Brady
Yes.
Madison Keys
Those are my clues. I'm gonna have to think about it. Yeah, really? Really?
Desiree Krafczyk
I don't sit on that one.
Jess Pugula
All right,
Jenny Brady
well, everyone tries to figure out who called my riddle goofy in an interview. Let's move on to some dorky, low stakes advice. Oh, sorry. I was thinking floofy.
Madison Keys
Dorky.
Jenny Brady
Let's move on to some low stakes advice and. Or fan questions. Okay, so I'm going to start with this one because it's hilarious. My neighbor gave my husband and I a bookshelf for our daughter's room that she wasn't using anymore. We didn't ask for it, but our daughter was talking about wanting one, and our neighbor had one her older kid had outgrown. We ended up not liking it and just took it to the dump. She just randomly asked for it back because she sold it on Facebook. Marketplace. We literally thought she gave it to us. Do we tell Her. We took it to the dump.
Desiree Krafczyk
That is the funniest thing I've ever heard.
Madison Keys
Okay.
Jenny Brady
That is so crazy.
Madison Keys
Very tough.
Desiree Krafczyk
She sell it.
Madison Keys
But how are you. Yeah, how do you sell something that you gave away?
Desiree Krafczyk
Don't even have? I think you just say, look. I think you say, hey, like, we actually gave it away to someone who needed it more than. Needed it more than we did. I don't know.
Madison Keys
Like, yeah, it's no longer a possession. So, sorry. Thought it. Thought when you gave it to us, you were giving it to us.
Jenny Brady
So. Yeah, like, for. I wanted to borrow because I.
Madison Keys
Hey, can you guys store this piece of furniture of mine?
Desiree Krafczyk
Yeah, maybe she was. Maybe they were like, oh, wow. Like, we made so much money off this, more than they wanted back. But that's.
Madison Keys
No, just.
Desiree Krafczyk
You probably should have taken it down.
Madison Keys
Yeah, you probably should have all.
Jess Pugula
She probably should have asked, too. Like, hey, do you still have that whatever shelf that I gave you guys? Are you still using it? Like, if not, I think I might put it on Facebook Marketplace. I mean, that's still weird, but, like, I don't know why you would just randomly start selling things that you give away. That's insane behavior. Just say, yeah, get to the dump. And if you feel.
Madison Keys
If you feel bad, just say you've
Desiree Krafczyk
given it to someone who needed it more than you did. I don't know.
Madison Keys
But also say that you gave it away.
Jess Pugula
They're gonna be like, who?
Jenny Brady
Where? Yeah, who did you give it to? Also, the fact that they said dump is hilarious.
Jess Pugula
To get to the dump shows you how much she liked it.
Madison Keys
She's like, that's crazy.
Jenny Brady
Wow.
Desiree Krafczyk
Yikes.
Jenny Brady
Okay, next question. My friend is dating a giant red flag, but doesn't see it. Literally, all of our friends can't stand him. But she seems so happy. Do we tell her,
Desiree Krafczyk
holy, I need my flags. You guys got to bring flags to Europe, by the way.
Madison Keys
Yeah, but, like, also, like, what. What kind of red flags?
Desiree Krafczyk
Like, are they.
Madison Keys
Are they. I guess. No. Red flag is innocent.
Desiree Krafczyk
Are they white flags?
Madison Keys
Like, little beige flags?
Jess Pugula
Subtle.
Desiree Krafczyk
Yeah, sorry. Not white flags.
Madison Keys
Beige.
Desiree Krafczyk
I'm thinking white lie.
Madison Keys
I was. I was thinking, why lies?
Desiree Krafczyk
But anyways, continue.
Madison Keys
Yeah, I don't know if it's like, is it like a legit red flag where you're like, no, no, this guy sucks. Or is it kind of like, like, you can do better?
Desiree Krafczyk
Or you're just like, I don't really like him for, like, personally. But then, yeah.
Madison Keys
Which I feel like I need context before I choose.
Jess Pugula
Yeah, I think it depends. Is it like, you guys are just. I don't want to say, like, jealous, but you know, like when your friend starts envious somebody. Yeah. And it's a little like, you're just judgy because you're their friend.
Jenny Brady
Yeah.
Jess Pugula
You're like, they're protective of red flags. Or is it like actual, like the one we had last week? What was that one again? Like, if it's the guys.
Desiree Krafczyk
Oh, my God.
Jenny Brady
Yeah.
Jess Pugula
And you're like, huh? Like, yeah, giant red flag.
Jenny Brady
Yeah.
Madison Keys
Yeah. If it's a legit red flag. I think in my opinion, it's always best to just say, like, how you feel the one time. Give an example and then follow it up with just, I love you anyways, I'll support you, whatever you want to do. And then once you've said it, said your piece, the one time, you just. That's it.
Desiree Krafczyk
You can't bring it up. You can't.
Jenny Brady
I don't think it's fair to continue to, like, bring it.
Madison Keys
Yeah.
Jenny Brady
Yeah. That's not fair.
Desiree Krafczyk
Yeah.
Jess Pugula
Guys, have Volinska just won, so sorry.
Madison Keys
Wow.
Jess Pugula
Wow.
Madison Keys
Whoa.
Jess Pugula
Wow. Crying.
Madison Keys
Wow. That's crazy. I just got.
Jess Pugula
I was about to say. There was. I was just about to say she's too much point. She's serving for it. She had a really good serve and then she just hit a really good lefty passing shot.
Madison Keys
Wow. Wow.
Jenny Brady
So final.
Desiree Krafczyk
Good for her.
Madison Keys
Wow.
Desiree Krafczyk
I kind of hope she wins now.
Jess Pugula
Crazy.
Jenny Brady
When's the last time qualifier made finals? Is that the last one?
Desiree Krafczyk
No, I thought we. I thought, I thought.
Jenny Brady
Yeah, but I'm saying, like, yeah, she was the last one to win, but
Jess Pugula
like, oh, she's got her hand, her hands and her towel on her face. She's just like sobbing.
Desiree Krafczyk
Oh, good for her.
Jess Pugula
Oh, my gosh.
Jenny Brady
Wow.
Jess Pugula
Wow. Wild.
Madison Keys
Wow.
Desiree Krafczyk
Great for her.
Jenny Brady
