This is the players box.
B
Hey, everyone. Welcome back to the players box. I'm Desiree Krafczyk alongside Jenny Brady, Madison Keys and Jess Bagola. Thank you to Amazon Health AI for sponsoring this episode. Healthcare just got less painful. As always, a friendly reminder to please give our podcast five stars and subscribe on YouTube. Let's get into our unforced error of the week, Jessica.
C
Well, mine started earlier today. I was on Instagram and I went to go look at any clips we posted. I was going to comment on the last one. I think it was the one of Jenny with the lettuce eating the lettuce, trying to avoid a parasite, but not really. And so I just clicked on the comments and I commented on it before and I think I was just looking at the engagement whatever, and I commented, but it's wedding. Wedding did not make any sense. It was up for 16 hours. I deleted it. I meant to say, but it's wedding season.
B
I got to own it.
C
Oh, no, it was so bad.
D
You delete it.
C
Someone commented off of it and said, wedding, wedding, question mark. And I was like, oh, my God. God. So I just, like, deleted it. It was like an angry delete. So, yeah, that was up for a while. And then I sent it in our chat and I was like, guys, what the hell? Why didn't you tell me? And you're all just like, yeah, I didn't know what you were talking about. Like, I didn't know where you were going with that one. Like, I thought you were quoting something weird, like a movie. I didn't quite get it. Like, blah, blah, blah. And I was like, thanks, guys, but it's wedding.
A
Wedding assumed that I was, like, not cool enough to know what you were referencing.
C
Inside joke made no sense. So I was like, oh, it's kind of embarrassing because it wasn't like a couple hours. It was like 16 hours ago. So it was up for a while.
D
I think it's worse that you deleted it.
B
Yeah, it's like the. When WTA, you know, deleted their post
D
about, oh, your snatched waste.
C
I don't know.
D
You can edit comments on Instagram, right?
C
I sleep deprived 16 hours later. That's like, you can. I don't know if you can edit that late. I don't know. I just. I got angry. I just deleted it. I was like, what is wrong with me? Like, I got. I think I got mad at myself. I was like, what? What was I doing? So, yeah,
D
Jenny, since Jess is out of town, I was watching her dog, Maddie.
C
And
D
after Mabel had some Diarrhea. It seems to have passed on to poor little Maddie, and. But it's. She hasn't gone in the house, which is great. You know, I. I take her out, like, every hour, and I supervise, and I. I watch her poo and report back my find. So yesterday she went. And it was, like, far in the yard, and it was. And I was like, ugh. Okay. I can't really see the, like, what that one looked like.
B
So the mound.
D
I'm gonna go check it out. So I put on Jess's sandals, and I go. And I go try and find the poo that Maddie just did, and I step in it. And so now. So then it actually got on my sock, and it was on Jesse's sandal, and I threw out my sock, and I was going to. Well, I took it, the sandal out back, and I was going to wash it off, but I couldn't figure out the hose, so I left it for you.
B
Here's a little present for when you come back.
C
Thank you.
D
But I threw out my sock, and. Yeah, it was a little. It was a soft one.
C
It's better now, though.
D
Yeah.
C
Oh, Jenny was stressed.
D
Yeah, I was stressed. I was stressed for her.
C
I'm like, just give her. I have meds on the counter. She'll be fine.
D
Yeah. She's like, just coat it in peanut butter and shove it down her throat. And I'm like, oh, my God. And so I literally take this pill, and I try to give it to her in a treat, and she just spits it out.
B
And I'm like.
D
And so then, like, I literally coat the whole thing in peanut butter. And then she's just licking the peanut butter, and then I'm like, okay, I've had enough. I'm gonna go Jessie's way. And I just open her mouth, and I just shove it down there and
B
just close her mouth, like, stick it
C
in the back and just, like.
D
And then tilt it and then swallow.
C
And I was like, yeah, get her to swallow. See it?
B
Told you.
D
Yeah. Jesse knows. Yeah. She was, like, so chill about it.
C
But it's also hilarious because we have, like, ring cameras outside, so Taylor always gets the alerts, and he'll just, like, show me his phone. And it's just Jenny, like, in my driveway with Maddie or doing various other activities.
B
It's so funny.
C
Yeah. And he's like, why is she taking her out so much? I'm like, well, she's. Maddie's not feeling well.
D
Yeah, she's like.
C
She's out there, like, every Hour. It's, like, just a video of Jenny just, like, standing there, like, looking at. It's so funny.
D
Yeah. I'm just standing there with my hands on my hips, and I'm, like, always
C
hands on her hips, like, looking like,
B
Maddie, we need to see this footage.
D
Yeah, Maddie. I send the pictures well because she's blind, too. So, like I said. And you go like this, too, literally every five seconds. And then I'm snapping, and I'm clapping. So bad. Oh, my God, I'm sweating. Maddie, do you have an unforced error?
A
Speaking of Maddie.
C
Different Maddie.
A
Nothing is gonna live up to what you just.
B
You're winning so far.
A
Yeah. The other morning, I woke up, and I was, like, super out of it, and I came downstairs to make coffee, and our coffee grinder is, like, connected to a scale. So I usually put, like, a dosing cup underneath and push the button, and it automatically stops. And for whatever reason, I pushed the button and just, like, watched it, and they forgot to put the cup underneath it all over the counter. And I was like, that's weird. And I was like, oh, my God, I'm an idiot. So I had to stop it. And then I had to clean up a mountain of coffee grinds from all over our counter. Oh, yeah. Sad. I was like, damn, I roasted that batch, too.
B
Oh, all that work.
A
Does
B
mine just happened, Actually, about before this recording, I was trying to meal. Not meal prep, but dinner prep before this. And I was making some, like, mango jalapeno salsa. And I don't know if this has ever happened to you guys, but I've washed my hands, like, multiple times after cutting the jalapeno, and it just. And I went to, like, rub my eye, and I thought, I've washed it multiple times. What could happen? And my eye was burning, so the whole time, I was, like, cutting the rest of it like this with, like, my one eye open. And it just reminded me of when Jess was doing her eyelashes.
D
Oh, my God.
C
She was trying to.
B
Just Was trying to talk to me with her one eye open and close, and I'm like, I can't. I can't talk to you like, your one eye. But my eye was completely stinging, so every time I'm rubbing my eye with my palm. That's why.
D
Oh, no, it's not. I've never cut a jalapeno, so I wouldn't know.
C
Yeah.
B
But I just.
C
This is a fact.
B
Yeah.
C
Like, I've never cut a jalapeno.
A
Yeah. Why do you not, like, why.
D
Why haven't I cut a jalapeno. Yeah.
B
Or like.
D
Yeah, I don't know. I just don't make anything like, with jalapenos. Well, I like them.
B
A good mango salsa with jalapenos.
D
Yeah. That's just too many steps.
B
Well, it's delicious.
D
Great.
C
Don't touch your eye.
D
Yeah.
B
Yeah. Well, it's safe to say, I think. I think Jenny won this. Unforced error.
C
Yeah.
B
Genuine by a mile.
D
Yeah, that was really funny actually.
B
Can't wait to see the footage.
A
Yeah, we need. We need Taylor to send us the ring camera footage.
D
I have a couple of the.
B
He should yell.
D
Jesse sent me.
B
Is there like a. Can you talk in the ring camera? And every time she.
C
You can next time.
B
Scare Jenny.
C
Sometimes Taylor, like, does the alarm or something, like, freak people out?
D
No, I would. I would be scared. I would jump really high.
A
Guys, we gotta talk about your secret late night Internet searches. You know the ones. Bumpy leg rash, hair loss, itchy skin, trying to figure out your body, endlessly searching for answers. We all do it and it never works.
B
Thankfully, there's Amazon Health AI. It can connect your symptoms with your medical history and it can even get you care 24 7.
A
I recently started using it and it's so convenient for when I'm curious about my symptoms, but I don't know if it's a big enough deal to go to the doctor.
B
Exactly. I developed allergies and I was asking for the best tips and tricks on how to combat them. Thankfully, they walked me through it without ever having to leave the house.
A
So call off the search. Amazon Health AI is here. Healthcare just got less painful.
D
Okay, let's catch up on what everyone has been doing since they got home from Wimbledon. Jesse, would you like to start?
C
Sure. I had a couple days at home and then I had to come to New York City for a couple sponsor things, which it's very weird being in the city not during the US Open, but like, we're kind of close to the US Open. And I love how I did my two sponsor things and the people that I'm asking that were like, working on the shoots, whatever, maybe not the biggest, like, tennis people, and they're always like, oh, so like, you're here prepping for the US Open? And I'm like, well, there's like a lot of other tournaments before that, but, like, eventually I'll be back here and playing, but. And they're like, oh, okay. Because they're just like New Yorkers who just know about the US Open and nothing else. So it was weird being back, but did a couple long days shooting stuff. And then I was at Tommy Paul's wedding, which was really, really fun yesterday. Now I'm in. Charlotte had to do another sponsor thing today, so I've had quite a busy schedule. But I have the next few days off, and then I get to see. Actually get to see all of you guys. I want to see Jenny and Des at Asia's wedding in Vancouver, so I'm gonna fly there tomorrow, and then I get to see Maddie in LA on Monday because we're doing something there. So that's kind of cool. I get to actually see all you guys in all different places.
D
Yay.
C
Shocker. But, yeah, just been busy. What about you, Des? You've been drinking lots of Hugo Spritz.
B
I am currently.
C
Is that Hugo Spritz?
A
Wait, you're drinking a Hugo Spritz right now?
B
Yeah. And you're using this open cup?
C
Oh, my God. You're obsessed.
D
Oh, my gosh. I thought it was water.
C
That's the key.
B
Yes. Maddie has made a monster out of me.
A
I'm just for dinner. I really didn't know what I was doing.
B
What you were doing? Yeah. Well, other than. Other than Hugo Spritz obsession.
C
Okay.
B
It makes me sound like an alcoholic. I had, like, my last Hugo Spritz a few days ago. But I did send you a picture of me with a huge margarita the other day. So I guess. Anyways, I have been. What have I been doing? I'm still drinking. Currently unpacking. I still haven't unpacked from when I.
A
You still haven't unpacked?
B
Oh, my God. I've, like, been trying so hard not to. I want to do everything else at home besides unpack and, like, do everything but
C
your patio.
B
My patio. And I'm hanging out with.
A
Oh, he left.
B
Wow, that sucks. Pluto. Pluto's been here, so he clearly didn't want to hang out with me. He's upstairs with Andrew. But I have been doing my patio. I got a new couch and got some plants and all of that, so that's been fun. And then just hanging out. It's honestly been so nice being at home and just enjoying summer by the beach. And now it's. We're going through a supposed heat wave. It's, like, 82 degrees and humid, so I feel like I'm back in London because I have no AC Here, but no ac?
C
No.
D
Wow.
B
A lot of the homes, like, near the beach here don't have ac.
C
Oh, wow. You really are back in London.
B
Yeah, as you can tell, my shiny.
D
I see that fan going in the background.
B
Yeah.
C
The fan is about to fly off the wall.
B
It's only on speed two.
D
It's about to come off and knock you and your Hugo Spritz over.
B
The Hugo spritz might knock me first, but yeah, Maddie, I have.
A
I went and got some plants the other day. I was totally planning on just getting a couple of small ones to fit in some empty pots that I had and I came home with a massive new pot, a new plant and many bags of soil. So that went off the rails and what else? I've kind of just been like back to practice. It's so hot. Like so hot in Florida. The heat index every day is like 105. And so I've just been slowly melting, trying to practice and drinking lots of sodium because apparently I wasn't drinking enough. So I'm just not. Salt. No, no. Hugo spritzes. That's kind of it. It's just been so nice to like be at home and be in my own bed and have like some semblance of a routine that's the same. And I can go to sleep every single night at the same time.
C
The best feeling.
A
It's so good.
C
I'm so happy you feel so healthy and accomplished.
B
I've literally made those gluten free bagels that you've told us about, Jess. Twice. They're so good.
D
So good.
A
Yeah, it's crazy how it's like when you get to plan out more than just the day ahead of you and you know exactly how it's going to go. It's incredible.
B
Just feel so much better just in a routine.
A
It's great, Jenny.
D
Yeah, I've been home hanging out with the other Maddie dog version, doing lots of school.
B
Did you finish the Lego?
D
No, I've been writing papers.
C
She really has been. Because you're not on Call of Duty as much. She's like, no, I have to write a paper.
B
Good for you, Jenny.
C
Yeah.
D
Yeah, I played a little bit of Call of Duty with Jesse before she left. I'll get to see Maddie tomorrow and then the.
A
The human Maddie.
D
Yeah, the human Maddie. The human body, the OG Maddie. And then Des and Jess on the weekend at Asia's wedding in Vancouver, so.
A
Yay.
D
Yeah.
C
Not much going on and you're at my house.
D
Yeah, I'm at infiltrating. Infiltrating. Yeah. I think I've already. I don't think we call it infiltrating anymore. I've already just. I'M in so deep now. I'm just here. I'm just here.
C
She's complete. She's infiltrated. She's like. She's infiltrated. She's completed her mission.
B
Just wait till it's in summertime and I'm going to be there.
C
Just. She was in my closet. I mean.
D
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
A
Yesterday she just sent us a photo. Do you like this dress?
B
You look like hot Jenny.
A
Jess, here.
D
Oh, thanks, Des. You look really good. Wear that dress. Yeah, I was just like starting to like panic a little bit because Jess was sending photos of her dress options for Tommy's wedding yesterday. And then I was like, oh my gosh, like, what am I gonna do? And so I was like, jess, I'm going in her closet. And by the time she even saw the message, I was already in the dress
B
in front of mirror.
D
Yeah. Sending her a photo in video.
C
It was just so funny. Cuz I always send you guys that a picture in front of that mirror. And then usually there's also like a dog in the back just walking around me. And so Jenny just sends a picture in my dress. Like the same mirror with like Maddie in the background. What is going on? She's completely infiltrated. Completely.
D
Yeah. Did you find something?
A
I forgot I'm supposed to. I'm bringing Jenny bag options tomorrow.
D
Yeah, she's bringing me back. Oh, what about sho options?
C
Do you guys wear the same size?
B
I think bring me a bag, Maddie.
D
Something gold.
A
Maybe I'll send pictures later if you guys.
C
Perfect.
D
Send it, Send it. And Jess and DEZ and you guys will be great.
B
I'm going to borrow one as well.
A
It's perfect.
D
Yeah. Okay. So obviously the World cup is happening right now and I believe Coco and Amanda have gone to some of the games. Have. Maddie has not. Jess has not. You're in la. Is there a chance that you.
B
Well, no, because the finals is happening soon, so. I did not go to a game they had. I forgot what game they had. Spain and someone the week I got back. But no, I have not gone. I saw.
D
Have you been players?
A
Fritz went. I think in la.
B
Fritz went. Ashlyn went in Texas.
A
Dallas.
B
Dallas. Yeah. She said it was really fun.
C
They were in Miami when I was that weekend, like after I got back from Wimbledon. But I just couldn't go. I was thinking about trying to go,
D
but oh yeah, the. The Norway.
C
Yes, Norway, England. Because I had to go to Miami for a friend's bridal shower and the entire restaurant was filled with Norwegian fans.
B
But has anyone been watching Any. Any of it?
C
Well, we're just post Argentina. Just one that just happened. That's. We're filming right after that happened, which is pretty crazy. I was busy. I didn't get to watch any of it. But it was an insane game. Crazy.
B
Yeah.
D
Famous Argentina.
C
What? Two goals, the 85th minute or something? Yeah, yeah, yeah, something like that. Wild.
B
And we were talking about.
C
I wonder how it would have been in England.
A
Go sports.
B
Maddie. Maddie, did you watch any?
A
No.
B
Oh, okay. Just plant momming. Yes, that's fair.
C
All right, shall we move on then? Since we're not really.
D
Yeah.
C
In the World cup is just.
B
Who do we think's gonna win?
D
Argentina.
C
Back to back, I think Argentina.
A
Who else?
B
I kind of want Yamal. Spain.
C
Spain.
B
Yamal, the win. The young one with his little brother who's like always. He's gone viral. Has anyone seen that?
C
I haven't seen that. No.
B
Oh, he's so cute.
D
He's not on my algo.
B
Okay, well, I'll make sure to get him.
C
I'll have to look it up later. Yeah, I think Argentina.
B
He's like the one. He's like the 19 year old young Spanish player and everyone says he's just so fun to watch. So.
C
Yeah, it would be crazy. Spain and Argentina though, that's going to be.
A
Where is it?
C
I mean, it's always madness, but yeah.
B
Where is it?
C
I have no idea actually.
B
Clearly we're not really up in the updates for the World Cup.
A
When is it?
D
Yeah, the finals is in New York.
C
Yeah. Oh, wow. Wow, that's gonna be crazy.
B
Like, how much tickets will be.
D
Oh, I don't even want to know.
C
How many.
A
How many days do they have until the 19th?
B
I could be so wrong.
D
Yeah.
B
Justin Bieber is doing the halftime show.
A
Wow, they have a halftime show?
D
Yeah. I didn't know they had a halftime show.
B
Apparently they do have hydration breaks, though.
A
Something new every day, which is weird.
D
Doesn't the clock not stop?
B
Yes.
D
Okay, moving on.
C
All right, we are going to play a little Never have I Ever. Summer edition. If you have a story you like to share on the topic, feel free. So never have I ever gone off the high dive.
B
Is that just like the highest point of the diving board?
D
I'm afraid of heights. That's a no for me.
C
I have. I don't. I think.
B
I think when I was like at some point a reckless child at 12.
D
Wow, you're so reckless. Going off the high dive at 12.
B
I mean. Oh, that's kind of scary.
C
I'm afraid of heights?
B
Yeah, he just said, I'm afraid of heights.
C
That's a no. And then you just totally gaslit death.
B
Jesus.
D
Well, she said she was reckless for going up.
B
Yeah, I was at 12.
D
I at least admitted that I'm afraid of heights.
B
High dive is high and I was reckless at 12.
D
I don't know if that counts as reckless, but.
A
Just let her have it.
D
I'm having. I'm letting her have it. I was ending it.
B
No, you weren't. Here we go again. Jenny and DEZ back at it again.
C
Never have I ever done a belly flop on purpose. I definitely have when I was a reckless child. Is that more reckless than the highway?
B
More reckless.
C
Jenny.
D
No.
C
Doing a.
D
But I've done it.
C
Stupid.
D
I've done it. Just goggles.
B
It doesn't feel good.
D
No, it.
B
It definitely hurts.
C
It's horrible. I definitely have done it when I was a kid.
D
Yeah.
C
Never have I ever had goggles fill with water and completely panic. Of course I've.
A
I have.
D
Few weeks ago.
B
Oh, Ar Arcadecki.
D
That's what happens when you buy goggles from Amazon. I have three, Three. Three different goggles in my bag that I take with me to the pool,
B
I think, you know, for Christmas.
A
I keep searching for those Ray Ban ones. They're always sold out, so I keep looking to buy them for you.
D
Oh, my gosh. I've never seen those.
C
Pretty cool again. When I was a kid, Jenny. I feel like these are very current for Jenny. Never have I ever gotten a sunburn so bad it peeled. I have definitely have.
D
Yeah. My shoulders the worst. I had it on my feet. The tops of my feet from being at the beach. I mean, my feet had never seen the sun.
C
Yeah.
B
I would have never thought to put
C
sunscreen on there, to be honest.
D
Yeah. Brutal. And then when you're taking a shower every time the hot water literally touches your feet. Yeah, it's brutal.
C
Yeah. I've had it on like my stomach and stuff when I am like, oh, I'm going to tan, but like my stomach hasn't seen the sun and it's like sees it once every 10 years. Never have I ever been stung by a jellyfish.
B
I definitely have. I was a clay court. I was a kid when I was what, 16 in Virginia. Virginia beach. And I was staying at housing and they had a little kayak that we were like, oh, let's just go on the kayak. And I didn't think there would be jellyfish. I don't know. I just didn't think there was going to be jellyfish in this area. And we ended up tipping the boat over and falling in. And then as being a desert rat, like, you don't know. You've never been in water with jellyfish, so it hurts so bad, but no one peed on me, that's for sure.
C
I was going to say, did anyone pee on you? Did you put wet sand on it
D
yourself?
B
Oh, I didn't have to go.
C
Someone's. No, someone's supposed to pee on you.
B
This just reminds me of the Friends episode.
C
How do you.
B
Like, you could probably pee on yourself,
C
but, like, what if you're done? Like, yeah, it was my legs.
B
It was just my legs.
D
Pee in your sandcastle bucket and then pour it on your back.
B
Ew.
C
You could do that.
A
So gross.
D
I mean, I think it's more gross if someone else pees on you. Like, it's your own pee.
C
I mean, you're just. You're screwed either way.
B
Well, either way, no one peed on me or myself, so I don't know what happened, but it was a long time ago. 16 years ago.
C
Never have I ever built a sandcastle that you were actually proud of.
D
No, no, never.
C
I've never done that. Yeah, no, I know. He's just. I don't know, died somehow tied or another child, like, ruined it. Probably
D
Reckless child. Desiree ran through it and just kicked it.
C
Never have I ever fallen off a paddle board. I definitely have fallen.
B
I definitely have.
D
Oh, yeah, I have. In Mallorca, me and Asia went paddleboarding, and I literally could not stand up on this thing. We. I have videos. I'll have to send them to you. Oh, my gosh. How's your core? No, it was so bad. I didn't know. I didn't understand how you do it. I was standing on it like it was a surfboard, and instead of having my feet side by side, I had them like. Like, I was on a skateboard, and I was like, I can't. I couldn't find balance. And it was in the oceans. Oh, yeah.
A
So good.
B
I definitely.
C
It's a tough look when you fall.
B
Boarding in. Yeah. In Cabo, it was. Actually hurts when it hits your shin.
C
Oh, it. Like. Yeah, Yeah, I know. When it kind of comes off under your feet.
A
Yeah.
C
It's not fun. Never have I ever gone cliff jumping.
D
No. I'm afraid of heights.
C
I have.
A
And we're.
B
I haven't. Like, is it, like, top. No.
A
Lake Perry.
D
I don't know where.
B
Somewhere in California. Yeah, it was really scary when I was reckless in High school.
C
I don't know if I've actually done cliff jumping. I've done waterfall repelling. That's like kind of different.
B
That sounds crazy. Like worse repelling.
C
Yeah. I'm not sure if it was worse or better because there's a rope. But also. Oh, you're not really falling into. But you're not really falling into like water, like deep water. It's not like you're falling into the ocean and you can just like jump in. I'm not sure. It was really fun though. That was a blast. In Costa Rica. I did that. Never have I ever tubed behind a boat.
B
I have done that. So fun. No, really, Lots of fun.
D
Yeah, really. I've always wanted to.
C
Oh, I've gone tubing so much.
B
It's so fun.
C
We used to. We used to talk of me next time we used to go to. I'm literally gonna always think about how you've never been tubing. We used to tie two behind whatever was telling. Like a boat or. Yeah, whatever. And then we used to like jump off of them while we were like moving and we would like. Yeah. Oh, my God.
B
That's a little bit wreck more reckless.
D
Wow.
B
The worst is when you're like on your. On your stomach and you just hit a wave and it just flops you up. That's like the worst.
C
Oh, yeah.
B
And your back just like, you're like.
C
Oh.
B
It's all.
A
You hit a wave and you go. You just get launched.
C
Yeah. So I've had some tough.
B
Until you. Yeah. Unless you fall into the water and you just get. You just start like going like this until they circle around you just start.
C
And then trying to get on the tube after when you've just been rocked by like getting headbutted by somebody and the tube hits you and you just body slam into the water and you literally feel like there is no possible way. You're just like. Like, I can't. And then the person's like grabbing your life jacket, like pulling you up. You're just flopping around.
B
Flops back on. Yeah.
C
Oh, my gosh. Yeah. I fought lake life several times. So fun. Jenny, you need to go tubing. Never have I ever water skied or wakeboarded.
B
I definitely have.
D
Yep.
C
I've done both.
A
Water skied.
D
Not successful. During COVID I went with Emma Navarro. She's so good. It was me. It was during that like Covid exhibition thing we did in Charleston.
A
Charleston.
D
Yeah, in Charleston. And we went. Her dad took a bunch of us, Emma's friends from like High school me, Genie and Caroline. Yeah. And it was my turn to go. Like, Emma went. And she was like, so good. Like, and then I was like, oh, yeah. Like, I'm gonna crush this, you know? And then I go. And I'm holding on, and then he goes. Revs the engine, whatever. And then.
B
Oh, no.
D
I just, like, let go. And then they're like, oh, come on. Come on. Like, try again. Try again. I think I tried again, and I couldn't stand up. And I was like, no, I'm good. And they were like, oh, come on. Come on, try again. And I was like, no, I'm good. I'm done.
C
I like, yeah.
D
Like, just like, I can't do it.
C
I can't. You just shut down.
D
Yeah, I shut down. I was like someone else.
C
It's really hard, though. It's really hard to get up. But once you get up, you'll always get up. On wakeboarding.
D
Yeah.
C
Like, I. Kelly and I, we, like, one summer, we, like, basically taught ourselves how to get up because we didn't know how, but we had a wakeboard. And we're like, we're gonna figure it out. So we like YouTube videos on how to get up, but it was one of those things where, like, it took us forever. And it also depends on the driver, like, making sure that they can help you get up.
B
And also slow a little bit. And then.
C
Yeah. And it's harder if you don't have, like, I think some boats that are made to, like, tow them. Then, like, the leverage is much easier to get up. But we were just, like, on a jet Ski and was a battle, but it's so much fun. And then, like, I remember a couple other summers, we had friends that tried, and there were some that, like, literally would just pop up, like, so easy. And we were like, what the heck? How did you do that?
B
Like, and you look so cool when you do it.
C
Two weeks.
D
Yeah. It looks really sick.
B
You're just like, oh, easy.
C
And have you ever been wake surfing without the rope? It's actually easier to get up.
D
No.
B
I just saw a video of Lewis Hamilton doing that with Kim K. Like,
C
I'm sure Emma probably wakes Surf Navarro.
D
Probably.
C
It's no surprise that she's, like, really good at that.
D
Yeah.
C
Never have I ever gotten locked out of a vacation rental or hotel room. I don't think I've gotten locked out of a vacation rental.
D
Like, I mean, I've definitely forgotten my room key.
C
Yeah. Multiple times. I do that, like, every day.
A
Yeah.
C
Like, all the time.
D
Or, like, when you're in my room or when you are like, oh, yeah, I'm in 1313. But you go to that room, and you're like, wait, why won't my key work? And then you're like, oh, it was last week's hotel.
C
I've done that.
D
Yeah.
B
Or you get someone else's room key and you walk in on.
D
Yeah.
C
Des.
D
That happens to Des a lot.
A
Yeah, that's. That's a you problem. That doesn't help to happen to most of us.
D
Well, at least it's not in the middle of the night.
B
Well, true.
D
I mean.
B
Never mind.
C
Never have I ever snuck into a hotel pool.
B
I feel like I definitely have at the Esmeralda. So everyone knows that hotel in Indian Wells. We'd always sneak into the back gate where the parking area is and just go use the pool. Because they never.
D
Reckless high schooler.
B
They never used to ask your room key, but now you just say, oh, I don't know. Something Smith. Or I don't know. I'm like, okay.
D
I did in Thailand. Oh, in. In Hua Hin.
C
Oh, yeah.
D
The tournament hotel was the holiday Inn, and there was a JW Marriott nearby and took the tuk tuk. And on my day off, I went and had a Thai massage. And then I went and laid out by the pool and was, like, in the pool swimming. And to get in the pool, you had to have, like. You had to be a hotel guest. And everybody was wearing wristbands. And so when I or I would see one of the hotel staff, like, come around, I would, like, get up and, like, walk the opposite way or, like, try to avoid them. So that you were, like, at this point, checking for my wristband? Yeah. It was, like, so nice. So did we go to the water
B
park together during that year?
D
I didn't. You went to the water park? I didn't go.
B
Oh, yeah, I did.
D
But. Yeah. Yeah. It was the same year.
A
Yeah.
C
Never have I ever gone parasailing.
A
No. Never.
D
No.
C
Oh, I've been. It's really fun.
D
Yeah.
C
Over. Yeah. Where did I go? Maybe in, like, Hilton Head, South Carolina, maybe at some point. It's really cool. Never have I ever eaten something you'd never normally eat while. Try while traveling. Sorry, I muted myself before I finished the question. Never have I ever eating something you'd never normally eat while traveling.
D
Escargot.
B
Yeah.
D
I mean, or faux gras. Foie gras. Jess loves it.
C
Foie gras. I've tried that. Yes. And escargot. Both.
D
Yeah. Yeah.
B
It's very rubbery.
C
I tried. It's good on bread or something in, like, Thailand.
B
I tried frog legs in Florida.
D
Oh, I want to try alligator.
A
I was gonna say I've had alligator.
D
Yeah, I've heard it's good.
A
And kangaroo. What?
C
Was it good?
D
I ate a cow the other day.
C
Yeah, like, I mean, she didn't kill the kangaroo.
A
It's just so much cuter than a cow.
D
I don't know.
A
No.
B
How do.
A
Aren't kangaroos in Australia like, deer in the States?
B
Yeah, but it just. Aren't they, like, really more exotic than cows? No, you can go and feed them.
C
That's.
D
I know. I've done that. No, I've actually done it in the wild.
B
Oh, wow. You reckless child.
D
Hey there, it's Jenny. Before this podcast continues, I need you to fill out 37 forms about your listening history. I'll wait. Just kidding. That would be ridiculous. Yet we all do it every time we see a doctor.
C
But new Amazon Health AI is different. It can connect your symptoms with your medical history to offer personalized care 24. 7.
D
I've been using it for a while now, and it's so easy because it has all of my history stored right there so I don't have to fill out anything or give context to what I'm asking.
C
Yeah, I'm a little paranoid about my moles, and I keep a close eye on them. One changed a little bit recently. So I asked Amazon Health AI about that and whether I need an appointment to get them checked out. They scheduled me an appointment in no time. Amazon Health AI is here. Healthcare just got less painful.
A
Okay, we're going to stay on our summer memory lane. And does anyone have any favorite childhood summer traditions?
B
No.
D
No.
A
My parents used to have a block party every summer. It was like the end of summer, so before everyone would start school and it would be, like, in our backyard. Well, it was like in our yard, and we lived on this cul de sac and there were a ton of kids, so we would get, like, the big inflatable, like, slides or the things where you, like, wrap the bungee on you and you race someone to see how far you can go, and it, like, snaps you back. We got, like, cutting shoe. It was so fun.
B
Oh, wow.
D
That's pretty sick.
B
I want to come over.
D
Wow. What?
A
We haven't done that since I was nine.
B
Okay.
D
This was before I knew you. I was gonna say damn. You didn't mean to extend the invite?
A
No. Then I was a child who played tennis, so we didn't have summer tradition,
C
your life was over.
D
Yeah. I think that's why none of us
C
had any before, like, the age of 10, my grandparents would do this thing called, like, cousins camp. And so every. Oh, that's cute. Was like a week or two in the summer, at some point we would all go. They had this, like, little cottage on this lake in New York, and it was so fun. And we would just, like, jet ski and tube, and she. My grandma would set up, like, crafts for us. Like, we'd tie, dye T shirts, and, like, it was so cute. It was, like, the best. And I remember one time I had to leave early and I, like, threw a fit. I was, like, crying. I think it's probably because I was, like, just starting to play tennis, and I, like, couldn't be away as long as the others, and I had to go leave. And I was not having it. I was so upset. It was awful.
A
We also used to do this thing, we called it the Grandpa Olympics. And it was basically just in a backyard. And it was like, you would have to, like, jump over the picnic table, run through a pool, go up the slide, do the monkey bars, and you would be timed.
C
That sounds so fun.
A
We had a big whiteboard with everyone's times, and we would all get so competitive because we wanted to win. And there was, like. There were medals that were handed out, and it was, like, so funny. It's so fun.
C
That sounds so fun.
D
That's cool.
B
Wow. My summers were not like that.
A
We should bring that back.
C
Yeah, we should bring 100.
B
It's for my. It's giving me. It's giving, like the Parent Trap. Is it the Parent Trap?
C
Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
D
First concert, Imagine Dragons when I was in college.
C
Backstreet Boys.
B
Stagecoach when I was 14.
A
I think I saw Carrie Underwood.
B
Oh, love her.
D
Oh, wait, no, actually, I think I saw Billy Joel, but that was at what age?
B
That's what I want to know.
D
I was a reckless child. It was like, tickets through my mom's work or something. So, like, I. The only song song I knew was Piano man,
B
but I was a little rendition.
D
No, we'll save that for a rainy day.
A
Okay. Favorite beach snack?
D
Watermelon.
B
Watermelon. Tajin is really good.
A
I think you get a pub sub in the morning on the way to the beach.
D
Yes.
A
Because the bread is really dense. And then by the time you eat it on the beach, it's so good.
C
I was gonna say a sub,
A
but the pub sub.
D
Yeah.
A
Holds up.
B
I need to try a pub sub. Have yet to Try it.
C
We have to do the. We have to do it whenever you come to Florida.
D
Oh, yeah, I'll be there. Yeah.
C
So good.
D
Yeah.
A
Favorite summer drink.
D
Desiree Des.
A
Here you go.
B
Spritz at Maddie while her eyes like
D
rolled in the back of her head.
B
A non alcoholic drink.
C
Aperol Spritz. I'm an Aperol Spritz girl. I got obsessed one summer when I was in Italy and I don't really know why, but I became obsessed and now I've ventured off into other spritz. But I think the Aperol Spritz. My go to. Did.
B
Did anyone make the spritz of whoever sent that video on Instagram?
A
No.
B
Blackberry1. That looks good.
A
I love a Hugo Spritz. And I love a Margarita.
B
Any like a Margarita margarita.
A
Love a margarita.
D
Like a skinny water
C
Spindrift.
D
That's nice.
B
Sparkling water with elements.
D
No, it's like too strong. It's like juice and then it like fades.
C
Spindrift.
D
Yeah, I like the. The artificial flavored ones.
A
Waterloo.
D
Waterloo's good.
C
I don't really like Waterloo.
D
What's. What's the. What's the one?
B
Bubbly.
D
Bubbly.
A
I don't like bubbly.
D
No, I don't like bubbly. It's Pepsi.
B
Oh, sorry.
D
Oh. Gotta support Coca Cola out here.
B
Non alcoholic. Yeah.
D
Yeah.
B
Element. The electrolytes with sparkles.
D
Yeah. Element. I was thinking about that. It's not so good.
B
You guys mentioned that before and I
D
tried it and it's really good.
B
And the watermelon.
C
Salt cold.
D
Ice water. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Honestly, Ice water.
A
So good.
B
Yeah.
A
What song makes you feel like it's summertime?
B
Feels like something.
C
Luke Brian. Country song.
A
Luke Bryan.
C
Yes. I'm not like a massive Luke Bryan fan. I know Maddie is, but country and I just think of Luke Bryan.
A
That always feels country.
C
Yeah.
B
I think country is good for. For summer. Like a summer song. Okay.
A
Best water activity.
D
I used to love boogie boarding.
A
Boogie boarding was so fun.
D
Yeah.
B
Like to be in the ocean. So.
D
And so you got all this sand. Lazy jet skiing, lazy rivering.
B
Oh, my gosh. Lazy rivers are so fun.
C
That's a good call.
D
That is really good with a tube.
C
Yeah.
A
So fun.
C
Like a good water park is pretty.
B
Did anyone go to like, water parks? I loved going to.
D
Yeah,
B
we had not.
A
Oh, my God. Rapids.
D
Jess, did you go to rapids?
C
Yes.
D
Oh, my God.
C
Oh, my God. What is real back?
A
We're so fun. Like West Palm.
D
No. Boca. No, no, no.
C
What's the.
A
What was. What was the really massive one?
D
No, no, no, it wasn't Boca.
C
Where was it?
B
Isn't there, like, a huge one on the east coast?
D
Like Busch Gardens in Riviera. It's in Riviera.
C
Busch Gardens is huge. Yeah. Amusement park. But that's.
B
I could not go to a water park right now, though.
D
I'm like, yeah, West Palm. Maddie was right. Like, above West Palm.
A
Yeah.
D
Yeah.
A
So fun.
C
Wow.
A
Kind of want to go.
D
Yeah, yeah.
C
Wait, what? Does it still exist?
D
I didn't. I.
B
Is there one in Cincinnati?
D
I couldn't do the one where you go in the tubes and it was dark, and it was a single.
B
Oh, no.
D
That gives me tube.
B
I get claustrophobic.
D
Claustrophobic.
C
Oh, like the enclosed slides.
A
Oh, I love that.
B
No.
C
Yeah. No, I can do that all day.
A
No, no, no, no, no, no.
B
Jenny, we'll go somewhere else.
A
We went open air. Open air family vacation one year, we went to Atlantis in the Bahamas. And the really big slide that you go, like, down and it goes through the shark tank.
C
Yes.
B
Where you get a wedgie.
A
Is that so fun?
C
Yeah, I've done that one. It took me a while to get down it, though. I was like. Like, the top of the slide. It like, you don't see. Like, if you were to look over, it's just, like. It looks like you're just gonna go out. Like, you don't see the rest of the slide. So you're like, how am I gonna go down this slide and not just fly off of the slide? Do you know what I'm saying?
A
It's also. It's, like, really high up.
C
No, it's, like, crazy dry.
A
And then you're looking down, and you see sharks swimming, and you're kind of
C
like, do I know to do this? Oh, I love water slides.
B
We had one of those in Palm Springs. But we would always get a wedgie. So I never went on it. And you just get. Yeah. Didn't like it.
D
I was worried about her wedgie.
B
Well, you get, like, little bumps on yours on your butt, and it doesn't feel good after, so I don't like that one.
A
Are flip flops allowed with any outfit? And what do we think about men wearing flip flops?
B
Define flip flops.
C
I don't care about men.
D
Are they Des's flip flops or with a little kitten heel or.
A
I feel like growing up in Florida, it's like, flip flops are. They're allowed.
D
They're. Yeah. I'm indifferent. I don't really wear flip flops because I have, like, really high arches. And my feet are kind of weird, so, like, they just drag
B
nice toes. But I think they have nice toes. They can wear flip flops. But I'm not a person that likes flip flops with any outfit.
D
Oh, wow. Des is actually judging. I could care less.
C
I. I grew up in.
B
But you guys grew up on the beach.
C
Yeah, I grew especially in Hilton Head and, like, the low country. I mean, everybody wore flip flops. Like, you wore rainbow sandals.
D
Yeah.
C
You wore your rainbows. Everybody had at least a couple pairs, guys and girls, and constantly, like, it was never questioned. And I think Florida is pretty much the same.
A
Florida was like Havanas. Everyone had a pair of Havanas.
B
I remember in middle school, rainbows were the thing to get during Christmas. And I was like, what is this obsession over rainbows? And I was like, oh, I want a pair. And then you couldn't get them wet. Yeah.
D
I actually found mine in. In my closet, like, a couple months ago, and I whipped them out and put them on for literally one day, and then I put it back in the closet.
B
You're like, no, I don't want it.
D
They're still, like, brand new. The rainbows, they're incredible.
B
Did you get the ones with a little braided side so it made it look more, like, feminine?
D
No.
B
No. Okay.
D
No, I got just the.
C
It was like, pick your color. Brown.
D
Yeah.
C
A light brown, a medium brown. A dark brown.
D
Dark brown.
B
Mine was never got the black ones because they.
D
My feet. Okay, moving on to who am I? Dez, would you like to reveal your clues from last week?
C
Yes.
B
My clues were her cool demeanor is her secret weapon, she enjoys watching wrestling, and she volunteered at a school in Tanzania during her off season. I think everyone here got it, but it was Linda Noskova.
D
Yeah, you said that. You said it. You said it like that last time. It was a one time. I thought it was a one time thing, but it.
C
Oh, really? I didn't know. Sorry.
B
I don't even know. Well, the winner was our Wimbledon champion, Linda Noskova.
C
We got that one.
D
Yeah.
B
Yeah.
D
Sorry. I'm just laughing at how you pronounce Tanzania.
C
Tanzania.
B
Tanzania. Well, I guess for next time if I use it.
D
What did you say?
C
If you're ever going to say Tanzania again.
B
Tanzania.
D
What did you say?
C
I don't even know.
D
Tanzania.
B
I said Tanzania.
D
I thought it was a one time thing last week, and I just.
B
Jenny giggles second time. Okay, Jenny, would you like to go?
D
Yeah. Moving on to my. Who am I for this week? I was a junior French open champion. My mom was My first coach. My car was repossessed recently.
C
That's it.
D
Sorry, I was reading it. I forgot to make payments on my car recently. Last year.
B
You just said the same thing. Oh, okay.
C
Well, yeah, Danny, I'm not sure what happened there. She glitched out.
B
Yeah.
D
At least I didn't say Tanzania.
A
That's true.
D
Oh, okay. Comment on who you think you just said.
B
Tanzania.
D
Okay, moving on to fan questions and. Oh, my gosh.
B
What is happening? What is going on?
C
Jenny's freaking out.
A
Jenny's so red.
D
I know. I'm a little out of it. I'm sorry, guys. Moving on to fan questions and low stakes advice for this week. First question from Francis. Have you essentially already decided serve or return and which side of the court prior to the match to avoid making decisions under pressure, or do you decide in real time, depending what the opponent picks and the location of the sun?
B
Both.
D
Wow. I've never thought about it.
C
I don't think about any of that. I go out and it's a game time decision and I freak out about it.
B
I'm like,
C
serve, return. And then usually sometimes I literally can't even, like, say it. And they just. Everyone's just like standing there and I'm like, return.
D
You should just defer. Like Maddie said.
C
That's what I hear. I should. I should just defer.
B
Yeah, I do that a lot in doubles. I definitely. I definitely think about it before the match, like both scenarios. But if we're playing around, what, where
D
I'd do one of those where you toss up pretend.
B
I mean, yeah, I'd like to look at where it is. Yeah, of course. But it helps, you know, lefty, righty, combination. That way you're not in the sun most of the time.
C
So I actually think in doubles you probably think about it more than you do singles. Yeah.
D
Yeah. Because I guess technically doubles, you're literally only serving from that side.
A
I was going to say singles. It's like, okay, I'm gonna start from the sunny side at some point. So I don't.
D
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And also, like, I always just like after either I choose or if my opponent chooses server return, and then it's my turn to choose which side I want. I always just stay on the same side.
A
Yeah. I don't think I've ever chosen to switch sides.
D
Honestly, I'm like, kind of annoyed when people are like, oh, I'll take that side. I'm like, really?
B
Sometimes I do it on purpose just because.
D
Oh, God, Des wants to be petty.
C
Yeah.
B
Just so they have to serve in the sun.
C
Mind games and make them walk around. Exactly.
D
Yeah. Okay, next question from Annalina. What goes through your mind at the end of a set other than catching a breather?
B
What
A
depends on the set.
D
Yeah.
B
If I'm winning 6 1. I'm not. I mean, yeah, yeah.
D
I'm like, come on, stay locked, stay locked.
A
Come on, come on.
C
If I lose, I'm like, well, like, no. Gotta change something. I don't know. You're not really interesting.
D
I think people think we like what? I think a lot of things when it's really keep your foot on the gas pedal. Yeah. Just like go out and see ball hitball. Next question. Should I buy a sweet classic car even though my wife will likely be mad and sweet is in all caps.
A
How mad? How mad will she be?
B
I mean, does she get to drive it?
D
Yeah.
C
Is she mad? Is it her money? Yeah.
D
Yeah.
A
Is this like a joint car? Joint account?
C
Is it like what your own?
D
We need a.
B
Is it.
D
We need a follow up, please.
A
Do we have any major repairs that we need to pay for first?
B
Are we in debt?
A
And certain things. Have you gotten her any nice gifts lately?
B
Give her a gift before you buy one maybe.
C
My husband currently goes on cars.com like every night and looks at cars. So I'm always like, just buy one. And he never seems to want to pull the trigger.
A
Bjorn is doing that reverse psychology. Every time I look over, he's looking at a new watch and I was like, are you gonna buy it? He's like, no, I can't. I'm like, then why did you spend three hours looking at all?
B
I'm sure it's an addiction. Andrew does the same thing and I'm sure he sent it to Bjorn. It's his whole algorithm is watches.
D
Can guys and girls really just be best friends? Yes, absolutely.
C
For sure.
D
Yeah.
A
One of my best friends from childhood is a guy. He walked my mom and sister down the aisle at my wedding.
B
Yeah.
D
Yeah, for sure. I don't think it's weird. Okay, thanks everyone for your fan questions and low stakes advice. Please leave us a rating and review. “For whatever reason, I pushed the button and just… forgot to put the cup underneath. All over the counter.” – Keys (06:21)
“[My eye] was burning, so the whole time, I was cutting the rest of it with like my one eye open.” – Krawczyk (07:15)
Notable Quote:
