Okay.
Jess
We've been in Europe for a while now and it's been hot. It really makes me miss AC being cold at night in my Quince bedding because it's always light, breathable and genuinely comfortable.
Jenny
It's luxury without the markup so it's the perfect balance where everything feels elevated but still effortless.
Desiree Kraftchick
It's time for a summer upgrade and I love that they have duvet covers in seasonal colors and timeless patterns like stripes and soft neutrals.
Unidentified Guest
They're 100% European linen embedding is woven from high quality flax and somehow just gets soft time you wash it. If you're more of a cotton person, their organic cotton sheets are incredibly soft and breathable. Plus they also make mulberry silk pillowcases and eye masks that help keep your hair smooth and your skin hydrated overnight.
Jenny
Everything at quince is priced 50 to 80% less than similar brands. They work directly with ethical factories and cut out the middleman. So you're paying for quality, not brand markup.
Jess
Everyone knows I love my sleep. I have the European linen duvet and it really has elevated the quality sleep I get. It makes being on the road even harder.

Welcome back to another episode of the Players Box. I'm Desiree Kraftchick alongside Jenny Brady, Madison Keys and Jess Pula. Thank you to Amazon Health AI for sponsoring this episode. Healthcare just got less painful. As always, a friendly reminder to please give our podcast five stars and subscribe on YouTube. Today we will get all set up for the upcoming tournaments in the States and and test our knowledge on our nation's capital. We will also answer your fan questions so be sure to continue to send those in. But first let's get into our Unforced Error.
Jess
Maddie My unforced error of the week is that the day before I had to fly to la. I slept for approximately three hours for some reason and then flew across the country. Jess and I had a shoot in LA and both of us decided it would be a really good idea to take a red eye home. So we both took the red eye home and I slept maybe like 90 minutes on the flight home. So I landed that morning at 6am and just felt like death was coming for me and just, like, literally could not function the entire day. And the whole day I was like, why did I not just fly home at a normal hour? So I think that might be my last red eye.
Maddie
Agreed. Never taking a red eye.
Jenny
Never taking a red eye again.
Maddie
Terrible.
Jess
It sounds like a good idea. Until you land.
Jenny
Saving time, and you're like, oh, I'll have the whole day. But the whole day, the day is miserable.
Maddie
You feel so bad. I'm like, I want this day to end.
Jess
Yeah.
Desiree Kraftchick
Literally the longest day of my life. You can't function.
Maddie
It's the absolute worst.
Jess
Jenny.
Jenny
So we were, me, Des, and Jet. I don't know why Jess is laughing, but me, Des and Jess were at Asia Muhammad's, well, Asia Cross now wedding this weekend in Vancouver.
Maddie
And
Jenny
during the wedding, after dinner, the hotel where it was at the Fairmont, gave everyone slippers. Like, all the girls who were dancing when. When they took off their heels and stuff. And so I was wearing my slippers, you know, dancing it up on the dance floor. And before that, I was getting ready in Jesse's room, and she was staying at the Fairmont, at the hotel where the wedding was. And I came over, like, in my sneakers and stuff. And so then fast forward, we're at the wedding, I'm wearing the slippers, and then I decide to go out to a club. And it's like 3am and I'm in the club with my slippers still on, and I'm dancing in the club with my slippers on. And then I get an Uber, I go home to my hotel in my slippers, and I wake up and I don't have any shoes. So I. My shoes were in Jesse's room, which is at a different hotel. And so I was like, oh, I'm gonna go to Jesse's to eat breakfast in the lounge because she gave me a room key. So I went up to the lounge and I got in the Uber from my hotel to her hotel in my slippers. And so I was wearing these slippers, like, literally all around Vancouver, until finally Jess brought me my sneakers down to breakfast. So my unforced error is that I was wearing, like, hotel slippers.
Desiree Kraftchick
They were pretty comfy, though, to be honest.
Jenny
Yeah, but they were disgusting.
Desiree Kraftchick
I'm sure when you went to a club and.
Maddie
Wait, I just sent the chat the picture of Jenny in the morning of if anyone.
Desiree Kraftchick
Oh, yeah, in my slippers.
Maddie
Add this picture in. So we get to the lounge and I give Jenny back her stuff, and, yeah, I give Her. The sneakers. And I still. She's like. She's in the slippers. And I'm like, wait, I'm just giving you your sneakers. Have you been wearing those the entire time? She's like, yeah, that's what I've been saying. I was like. And she's like, look. And it's, like, black on the bottom.
Jenny
Yeah.
Jess
So gross.
Maddie
What? Yeah. I was like, wait, like, what is going on? It was so funny.
Jenny
Yeah.
Desiree Kraftchick
So,
Jenny
Desiree.
Desiree Kraftchick
Well, mine's probably not as good as your enforced error, but. So everyone knows that I went to go get plants, right? And I was so, like, excited about it, and I was like, don't kill the plants. Don't kill the plants. And they're already come back. No, hang on. I came back from Vancouver, and I water them twice a week. You know, they told me, oh, my God, they'll live. They'll be fine. Got this one plant, the really colorful one, and it's already wilting. And I'm like, I watered you twice last week. Why are you still thirsty? Like, what's going on? So it's just wilted. And now I'm really sad because now I'm like, I can't even keep a plant alive from after a week of being in my house. So I'm gonna need some plant tips
Maddie
from you, Maddie, because is there a chance of survival?
Desiree Kraftchick
There is. You know? Yeah.
Jenny
Sometimes when you water it and give it some sun, they just perk back up.
Jess
Well, you might.
Maddie
It's a full.
Desiree Kraftchick
It's a full sun.
Jess
Maybe plant too much water.
Desiree Kraftchick
Yeah, I thought osmosis, you know, you fill it up and then you just have a little sit, and then it just goes back up.
Maddie
No, no, you probably.
Jess
Is that the definition of osmosis?
Desiree Kraftchick
I don't know. Someone told me that Andrew's mom was like, hey, I think you should fill it up the first time to the bottom until the roots, like, are completely soaked, and then it'll soak back up.
Maddie
But I felt like, is it draining? Is it able to drain?
Desiree Kraftchick
Yeah.
Jenny
Yeah.
Jess
Wait, so are you, like, completely saturating it? No, it was plant twice a week.
Desiree Kraftchick
Yeah.
Maddie
Oh, you only do that, like, once.
Jess
FaceTime me later and save your plants.
Desiree Kraftchick
Well, that was my unforced error. Everyone. I need to keep a plant alive. And clearly, I need to go and go to a plant class 101 user green.
Maddie
Error.
Desiree Kraftchick
Unforced error. Jess.
Maddie
Oh, guys, I literally have a list. Like, the. This weekly thing. I'm not. I'm ahead on my list. Like, there's Some I've had to skip because we're moving.
Desiree Kraftchick
People think we make this.
Maddie
We need to record twice a week, maybe three times, if we were to keep up with my list. So I will just pick the one from our last week's trip. I flew to Charlotte from New York after going to Tommy's wedding, and I was there for a day and a half, and I went to download things on my iPad before the flight from Charlotte to Vancouver. I was like, where's my iPad? Don't have my iPad. Find my iPhone. My iPad is still at the Charlotte airport. I must have left it on the plane when I was delirious at like, 6am Whatever. So I definitely left it on the plane, which is great because I saw it on my Find my iPhone. So then I went back to the airport, we checked in. I go down to baggage claim, which is basically where you find the lost items. And this lady's like, you need to file a claim. And I'm like, listen, like, I'm getting on another plane in, like, an hour. Like, I. I'll show you my. Find my iPhone. It's here. Like, I'm literally on the dot. Like, I'm directly on it. I was like, I know it's back there, please. And she just, like, wasn't feeling me, you know, she was just, like, not very friendly. She's like, I need you to file a claim. I was like, okay, but can you just go back and check right now? Because, like, I'm kind of in a rush. And she's just kind of like, whatever. So she goes back and she like, tank looks. But then there was this other guy that was super, super friendly, and he was like, hey, are you getting help? Are you okay? And I was like, okay, I'm going to talk to this guy because I feel like he's actually going to find my iPad. And he was so nice. And he was like, I got you. I got you. Like, what does it look like? Blah, blah, blah. Like, so helpful. Like, great. So then he goes back there. Long story short, they find the iPad. I'm like, yes, but someone stole my $100 because I have, like, the keyboard case. So it was just my iPad. So they finally found it, but they stole my case.
Jess
Someone, like, stole your case, but not
Desiree Kraftchick
your take the iPad?
Maddie
I don't know. Because they were, like, afraid that it wasn't. I mean, it's like one of those. You know what I'm talking about? They're, like, pretty thick. They, like, mag.
Jess
Yeah, like, the matte.
Maddie
Those are Good ones.
Desiree Kraftchick
I don't think.
Jess
Keyboard. Whatever.
Desiree Kraftchick
I don't think they're expensive falls.
Maddie
Yeah, they're like 100 bucks. I don't think they fall off. Like, it's not like it, like, slipped off. They. Someone had to remove it. So it's really weird. Maybe they just didn't want to, like, try to break into my iPad. And they're just like.
Desiree Kraftchick
Maybe they already had the iPad.
Maddie
IPad.
Desiree Kraftchick
He just needed the.
Maddie
Maybe they did, and they wanted a case. And it props up so you can like, watch things. It, like, stands up. Yeah. So that was great. Found my iPad. Thank God. And then I got to Vancouver, and me and Taylor were like, oh, we should go to the Apple store. I can buy another case. And we needed, like, a lightning cord. So we go, we buy a case. And then on, like, pretty much the flight, like, getting to the airport in Vancouver, I was like, where's my iPad case? I think I accidentally threw it away.
Jenny
Yeah, we were.
Desiree Kraftchick
Jessica.
Maddie
Because I had my charger and I had it, like, all in the Apple bag, and I had a couple things from Sephora, like, I just all shoved in there. And we were just like. So, like, I don't know, on the go that weekend that, like, I must have just. I for sure unwrapped the cord to charge my phone, but I wasn't using my iPad at all. So I think I. I definitely took the makeup out. I took the cord out, and I think I left my case in that bag. And then I was trying to clean out the room as we, like, so it wasn't so crazy. And I think I threw it out. Like, I put it in a bunch of bags with stuff and, like, put it outside the room.
Desiree Kraftchick
So, yeah, I've definitely done that before,
Jess
but so now you need to go buy a third iPad case.
Maddie
IPad case.
Desiree Kraftchick
Oh, my gosh.
Maddie
But it's a miracle I found my iPad.
Desiree Kraftchick
Yeah. Yeah, that's pretty close. It does help when someone actually will help and find the iPad.
Maddie
He was so helpful. The other lady, I don't even know where we ended with her. She, like, never came out of the back office. She's like, sorry, like, one more time. And she went back there and then never came back out. It was interesting. So who's the winner?
Desiree Kraftchick
I feel like you.
Jess
You are you or Jenny. Yeah, the slippers all over Vancouver is pretty epic.
Unidentified Guest
It's crazy.
Desiree Kraftchick
It's pretty funny.
Maddie
I can't wait. Like, we gotta put the picture in here. It's so funny.
Jenny
I also have a video of me in the in the Clearb. In the club, dancing with my slippers.
Desiree Kraftchick
I guess that's better than me wearing my tennis shoes on at the reception. Or the.
Jenny
Yeah, that was crazy.
Desiree Kraftchick
Okay.
Jenny
My feet were killing me and was like, she's joking.
Desiree Kraftchick
No, I needed it.
Maddie
It was too early. It was too early. The reception started and she was like, nikes. And I was like, whoa, we need like, you didn't my dress 30, 40 minutes.
Jenny
Like, we didn't even do cocktail hour yet.
Maddie
Oh, yeah, that's true.
Desiree Kraftchick
Well, I didn't have enough alcohol because my feet weren't numb yet. So, you know, that's probably what it was. But at Maddie's wedding, I had my bright blue Nike runners on, but that was like at 11pm so it's different.
Jenny
Yeah, we changed after dinner.
Unidentified Guest
You're right.
Desiree Kraftchick
Oh, yeah, that's right.
Jess
Guys, we gotta talk about your secret late night Internet searches. You know the ones. Bumpy leg rash, hair loss, itchy skin, trying to figure out your body, endlessly searching for answers. We all do it and it never works.
Desiree Kraftchick
Thankfully, there's Amazon Health AI. It can connect your symptoms with your medical history and it can even get you care 24 7.
Jess
I recently started using it and it's so convenient for when I'm curious about my symptoms. But I don't know if it's a big enough deal to go to the doctor.
Unidentified Guest
Exactly.
Desiree Kraftchick
I developed allergies and I was asking for the best tips and tricks on how to combat them. Thankfully, they walked me through it without ever having to leave the house.
Jess
So call off the search. Amazon Health AI is here. Healthcare just got less painful.
Maddie
Well, since we're talking about weddings and we have. Well, at least I've been to multiple. We all went to Asia's. We've seen all of the wedding photos from lots of the tennis players. Can we discuss some of the dresses in the. I was gonna say fits, but it's a little more than a fit. It's a. Yeah.
Desiree Kraftchick
So many people got married to look this year.
Maddie
So obviously Paige, Tommy and Paige's wedding. Paige had beautiful 4. 3. 3 or 4ish, kind of in her pictures. She had a lot of different. She had her rehearsal, she had her kind of getting ready look, which was like a corset situation.
Jess
Did you see a big feather robe situation too that she had?
Desiree Kraftchick
Cute.
Maddie
I don't know if I saw that.
Desiree Kraftchick
That was cute. It was like her getting ready one. Right. With all the her girls. Yeah, that was really cute. And then
Maddie
the reception dress that she wore with the bow and without the bow. And then she also had an after party dress, so she had a lot here.
Jess
I don't know if I've really seen that one, but they look. I mean, they looked great.
Maddie
Yeah. My favorite was the reception with the bow.
Jess
I love.
Maddie
Big bow.
Jenny
Yeah, yeah.
Maddie
With the big bow in the back.
Desiree Kraftchick
She looked great in all of them anyways.
Jess
But yeah, I mean, their wedding was beautiful.
Maddie
And the picture of Tommy holding the bow, I thought it was fun.
Desiree Kraftchick
Oh, I didn't.
Jenny
I didn't see that.
Maddie
He's like, oh, I won the prize. Oh. Her wedding was. It was very beautiful. Her entrance down the staircase for the ceremony was like, from the house. It was just like. It was so pretty dramatic.
Desiree Kraftchick
And that's.
Maddie
Yeah, yeah. Her. All of her outfits, like, matched that venue very well. It was very, very pretty. Asia's wedding, she had a couple dresses and then technically three.
Desiree Kraftchick
Yeah, technically three.
Unidentified Guest
Yeah.
Desiree Kraftchick
Her wedding dress was stunning.
Maddie
Yeah, I really liked it.
Jess
So pretty.
Desiree Kraftchick
It was so. And when she. When we saw her walking down, it was kind of like a longer walk from where she started, really across the grass area because it was out in the botanical gardens. And you can tell she was really trying to kick her feet out because the dress was heavy and with a lot of it. She looked. Yeah, she looked so good. And just even though her bridesmaids looked unreal, the yellow looked so good.
Maddie
Everyone looked. The butter yellow was so pretty. All the bridesmaids looked so good. They looked really good. She had all the little flowers, like, attached to the dress. And she just. I mean, she looks good in everything.
Jenny
Yeah, she could wear a paper bag.
Desiree Kraftchick
And I mean, the gardens itself, I do like the. Out in the garden area, but do you remember I told you so where we were sitting? We were kind of sitting in the back area, like the last two rows. And you know, it's in a public area, so people are walking around. There's a path, you know, to like walk around the whole gardens. And then there's like a little flower patch area as Asia's walking down and she's with Jamie. There's like a few little people hiding in the little bushes, trying to take pictures of the whole wedding. I have a picture of it, but it was really funny because it was just like they saw. They're like, oh, my God, like there's a wedding going on. It was.
Jenny
There were like four weddings at that botanical gardens.
Maddie
Yeah, it was big too. Cuz I never saw. I never. Well, no, we saw one. People may finishing like on the other side when we walked Back, but you didn't really see anybody else. Katie and Alex.
Desiree Kraftchick
That pictures were stunning.
Maddie
Yeah. She looks so happy. It was so cute in her pictures. She, like, couldn't stop talking.
Desiree Kraftchick
You can tell. Yeah. Genuine. It was a beautiful venue. And the picture. I think my favorite picture is the one above.
Maddie
Yeah, the one above, like, through the little art circle.
Jenny
Yeah.
Maddie
I really would love to know, like, how they did that. We need to ask her when we see her. Drone, because that was crazy. It was drone.
Unidentified Guest
Right?
Jess
I liked the vintage Porsche pictures, too.
Desiree Kraftchick
Yeah. And her brother drove her to the church. Right.
Maddie
Is that.
Desiree Kraftchick
Or is that the.
Jess
Right, that might have been her. The smaller ceremony that they had.
Desiree Kraftchick
Oh, okay. Okay.
Jess
That was in the uk.
Maddie
Oh, yeah. They had a smaller ceremony before just because I believe her grandfather. Yeah. Really, really sweet.
Desiree Kraftchick
That's cute.
Maddie
But it looked. It looks so good. Alex looked really good. I thought it was so nice. I really loved her, like, late night. Her last dress, her after party reception dress, it was, like, the short beaded one. Because she's tall. She has, like, long legs. I don't know. It looked really cute on her. And then she had her Nikes.
Desiree Kraftchick
Oh, yeah, the custom Nikes, too.
Jenny
Cool.
Maddie
Yeah.
Desiree Kraftchick
That's cute.
Maddie
It was really cute. But I love her.
Jess
Venue is gorge.
Maddie
I love the dress. Oh, yeah. I loved all of her dresses, but I really like the one that was kind of off the shoulder a bit. What is that called? The one that cut?
Desiree Kraftchick
That kind of goes.
Maddie
Yes. Yeah. It's like slightly off the shoulder. Kind of a thicker material. It was really pretty. I think that one was my favorite. And then Daria Kazakina, she got married. She got married? Yeah.
Desiree Kraftchick
Actually, a lot of tennis players were there, too.
Maddie
A lot of tennis players. I didn't see a lot of pictures, though. I don't even think. I know. Was there a little pictures?
Jess
They were in, like, black and then all the black.
Maddie
Okay, that's right. I did. Oh, that's cute.
Unidentified Guest
That's right.
Jess
So good, because I saw.
Maddie
I saw, like, Mira and like, all, like, pal. And they're all in white. And I was like, oh, they must be there for Dash's wedding. And I was like, wait, why are they wearing white? And then I was like, oh, duh, they're gonna wear black. I think I maybe saw one picture of them in black, and then I, like, figured it out, but that was. That's so, like, Spoton.
Desiree Kraftchick
Samsonova also got married.
Maddie
Yes.
Jess
Got married.
Desiree Kraftchick
Yeah. She got married. Who else? There's another person.
Maddie
Mahalakova got married.
Desiree Kraftchick
Mahalakova Teresa.
Unidentified Guest
She looked so.
Jenny
My gosh.
Maddie
Yeah.
Jess
Pictures.
Maddie
There was one more, maybe.
Desiree Kraftchick
Amazing. I thought that's because Liv Nichols had to go. She went to their wedding, Teresa's wedding. First she was in the bridal party, and then she flew to Italy for Katie and Alex's.
Jenny
Oh, wow.
Unidentified Guest
Oh, wow.
Maddie
Yeah.
Desiree Kraftchick
So she did kind of like what you did.
Jess
Yeah.
Maddie
Oh, wow. She did double weddings. Yeah. I feel like there was maybe one more person that we're missing. Cuz I felt like at Asia's wedding, someone was telling me about, like, two or three other people, but, well, Evan King got married.
Desiree Kraftchick
Oh, yeah.
Jess
Evan King. Evan King.
Maddie
That's who it was. It was Evan King.
Desiree Kraftchick
Evan and Sydney.
Jenny
Yeah.
Unidentified Guest
Yeah.
Maddie
Their pictures were cute. I saw some of them. Cute. She's a photographer, right?
Jenny
Yes.
Maddie
Like, she does a lot of photography.
Desiree Kraftchick
She does a little bit of videography, too, I think.
Maddie
Yeah, too. So her pictures were cool.
Desiree Kraftchick
So many weddings.
Maddie
So many.
Desiree Kraftchick
It's the only time, I guess. The only one week.
Maddie
The only time.
Jess
Married after Wimbledon or off season.
Desiree Kraftchick
Yeah, the same. And wedding anniversary. Around that same wedding.
Maddie
Oh, my God. Yeah. It's so true.
Jenny
July or November.
Jess
Yeah.
Maddie
Wait, when did Katie get. What day did she get married? Was she a day after Asia or.
Jenny
No.
Maddie
Earlier.
Jenny
No.
Desiree Kraftchick
Which one do you count? Do you count the one? The first one? Yeah.
Jenny
I don't know. A day after Tommy, I think.
Desiree Kraftchick
Do you count. I don't think she got married in the church. Or do you count the one in Italy?
Maddie
Oh, that's true. I don't know.
Unidentified Guest
Yeah.
Jenny
I don't know. I don't know.
Maddie
But congrats to everybody.
Desiree Kraftchick
We love.
Jess
We love seeing the wedding pictures.
Desiree Kraftchick
We love love.
Jenny
We love love.
Maddie
Yeah. It's so. Oh, my God. It's the best. When we were sitting at Asia's, we're
Jess
like, we're gonna cry.
Desiree Kraftchick
Oh. Jenny was looking down the whole time. She was like, I can't look. I'm not gonna look.
Maddie
Oh, I'm looking.
Desiree Kraftchick
And then she, like, had to go, like, look up just to make sure her makeup doesn't run.
Jenny
I was like, the only time I get makeup and it's just.
Maddie
Just gonna run.
Desiree Kraftchick
No.
Maddie
Tommy was really. Was really emotional, too. And, like, when we saw him after, he's like, I've never been so nervous in my entire life. Like, he was like. I was like, not okay. He was freaking out. It was adorable. So back to some tennis talk. Kurjikova wins her ninth title in Athens, first title since Wimbledon. 2024, and back in the top 30 for the first time since June 2025. I feel like I kind of felt her coming back just because she was playing very well in Wimbledon and seems like she's been healthy, which I think is. Yeah, you know, the number one.
Jenny
Yeah.
Desiree Kraftchick
So that's nice to see her in the finals, right?
Maddie
Yes.
Jess
Yes.
Desiree Kraftchick
Sakari and Fern.
Maddie
Which is cool for Maria to be in the finals there at her first
Jess
town, first tournament in Greece for, like, a long time.
Jenny
Very long time.
Maddie
Yeah. And I know that she pushed really hard, like, to get a tournament back there. I think she knew that there was potential, like, people were interested in holding an event and stuff like that. So it's cool that, you know, she's obviously from there and was able to kind of grow tennis a bit there, which has been really cool. And be in the final and be in Greece.
Desiree Kraftchick
That's pretty cool.
Maddie
Yeah. I still have never been to Greece.
Jenny
Same neither.
Desiree Kraftchick
Only on a layover trip.
Maddie
But I heard it was.
Jenny
Really needs to hit up Maria for
Maddie
this girl
Jenny
who's planning.
Desiree Kraftchick
Apparently they. They play matches after 4pm because it's so hot. It's kind of like AO in a way.
Jenny
Oh, really?
Desiree Kraftchick
They start the matches. Yeah, they. They had to start matches. Yeah. 4:00pm or later.
Maddie
Meyer Sharif wins in. Is it L?
Jenny
Whoa.
Jess
I think it's two different ways.
Maddie
Oh, it's. I. Yeah.
Desiree Kraftchick
I don't know.
Maddie
How do you pronounce it?
Jess
I think it's a. Icy.
Maddie
Oh,
Desiree Kraftchick
Lassie.
Maddie
Well, it's her second title and comes four years after Yossi. Yossi. Yay.
Desiree Kraftchick
Yahtzee.
Maddie
Yossi. Yossi.
Jess
Yassi. Yassi.
Maddie
That I would not have, like, come even close to that. It's her second title. It comes four years after her first title on tour, which was in Parma in 2022. I will say I've played her, and it's not easy. She is a grind. She competes really well, plays a lot of long matches.
Desiree Kraftchick
I only know Pepperdine, she was.
Jenny
Oh, my gosh. Yeah, that's right.
Maddie
She's just, like, ready to battle. No, it, like, doesn't matter the score.
Jess
The only match I've ever played her was a rainy, cold day at Roland Garros. And I was like, this is gonna be the hardest day of my life.
Desiree Kraftchick
Grinding.
Jenny
Yeah. She loves the clay.
Maddie
Loves it.
Jenny
Loves the clay.
Maddie
And she's from Egypt. Like, there's not a lot of players from Egypt. I think she's, like, kind of the only female that I know. Maybe there's someone on the men's side, but. Yeah, so that's pretty cool. So, yeah, there is some tennis going on besides the weddings. So, yeah, I feel like I've been kind of shut off, though. Not gonna lie.
Desiree Kraftchick
Same. I have been far removed just because it's been nice to not be in the tennis universe. But. Okay, we're gonna move on to the next tournaments that are coming up, which is Memphis and in D.C. and the Memphis tournament is a 250 and D.C. is a 500 event. So in honor of D.C. tournament, we are going to play a little game called are you smarter than an American tourist? I'm a little nervous.
Maddie
Oh, gosh.
Desiree Kraftchick
Okay, Jess. What? Do the letters fall on people? Yes.
Maddie
I don't like this.
Desiree Kraftchick
Okay, and then. And then if you need help, you can call on Congress, which is for us, groups for all of us, and you can get some assistance. So, okay, the first question for Jess is, what do the letters DC Stand for?
Maddie
The District of Columbia.
Desiree Kraftchick
Well done, Dallas Cowboys.
Maddie
Come on.
Desiree Kraftchick
Come on, Maddie. What river runs through Washington, D.C. dulles.
Jess
Is that the river? No. I don't know. I'm not a single clue.
Maddie
Maryland river.
Jess
Potomac.
Maddie
Virginia Real Housewives. Potomac. Potomac. You're right.
Desiree Kraftchick
Would have never known. Jenny, which monument looks like a giant pencil?
Maddie
God, I'm so bad at these things.
Jenny
The Washington Monument.
Desiree Kraftchick
Well done, Jenny.
Jenny
Let's go, baby.
Desiree Kraftchick
All right, Jess.
Jenny
Oh.
Desiree Kraftchick
Oh.
Jenny
Does you. Are you gonna do it?
Maddie
Yeah. Wait, is Des gonna do it?
Jess
I feel like.
Desiree Kraftchick
I don't know. I don't know. I'm a little. Okay. Yes.
Jess
Does well for me.
Desiree Kraftchick
Which state in Washington, D.C. is. Wow. Which state is Washington D.C. in its own state.
Jenny
Yeah.
Desiree Kraftchick
Thank you. I got it right.
Maddie
Are we done with this game?
Desiree Kraftchick
Jess, one more for you.
Maddie
Oh.
Desiree Kraftchick
What is the minimum age to become president?
Jess
412.
Desiree Kraftchick
Sorry.
Jenny
Wait, what?
Maddie
I honestly don't know. There's an ace.
Unidentified Guest
Got me.
Maddie
I don't know, like, 40.
Desiree Kraftchick
Take a guess.
Jess
42.
Maddie
I forget. I feel like I've heard this. 21, but I just never known the answer. 25. Rent a car.
Desiree Kraftchick
35.
Maddie
35. I was gonna say like 40.
Jess
Oh, it's only 35.
Maddie
Wow. I thought it would be older.
Jenny
Only four more years and I'll be putting my ballot in.
Desiree Kraftchick
I'll vote for you, Jenny. Okay, Maddie, multiple choice. How many rooms are in the White House? A, 52, B89, C132 or D215? Wow.
Jess
I think 89.
Desiree Kraftchick
That's what I'm thinking.
Jess
Whoa. I'm wrong. 132. That seems like, necessary. Seems like an excess of rooms.
Jenny
Seems unnecessary.
Jess
It's too many rooms.
Desiree Kraftchick
Okay, Jenny, this is perfect for you. How many bathrooms are in the White House? A, 12, B, 24, C, 35 or D, 52.
Jess
Well, there's 132 rooms. Rooms, yeah. So does that include 52?
Jenny
So does that include.
Maddie
They're really short on bathrooms.
Jenny
Yeah.
Maddie
What if you.
Jenny
No, I think the rooms are counting bathrooms.
Jess
I would assume so.
Desiree Kraftchick
All right, Jenny, what do you think?
Jenny
I'm gonna go with B24.
Maddie
Too low.
Desiree Kraftchick
Little.
Jess
Oh, I'm gonna say 35.
Maddie
I'm gonna say at least C or D. C if there's only wow.
Desiree Kraftchick
When in doubt, 35, press C. Wow, 35. Okay, last one for me, Washington, D.C. is famous every spring for A, tulip festival, B, cherry blossoms, C, apple festival, or D, sunflower festival. Oh, gosh, I'm gonna say. B, cherry blossoms.
Maddie
Cherry blossoms, yes.
Desiree Kraftchick
Yeah, it's definitely not tulips.
Maddie
Come on.
Desiree Kraftchick
That's in the Netherlands. Okay. Well, that was fun. Well, Jess is a little nervous at the beginning.
Jenny
Yeah.
Maddie
Everyone, how do you get any multiple choice?
Jess
I got all of mine wrong.
Jenny
Speaking of DC Maddie and Jess, you are going to play DC and dez, you're playing Memphis. What made you decide to play DC And Des, what made you decide to play Memphis over D.C? des, if you want to start.
Desiree Kraftchick
I'm going to play Memphis because my partner, who I'm playing with for the US Wing, Storm Hunter, she's playing singles there. So we figured we should play and start in Memphis and then play the other tournaments, Toronto, Cincy, and then us together. So that's my decision. Yeah.
Jess
I am playing in D.C. because it's a 500 and I need to play 500 same.
Jenny
Jess, you've won. You've won D.C. i did win D.C.
Maddie
back when it was Maddie Cakes.
Jenny
Yeah, I remember. Yeah, I have that. That photo in my brain.
Desiree Kraftchick
Yeah.
Jenny
In that green and white Adidas.
Maddie
Green tank and, like, a black skirt.
Jess
Black skirt.
Jenny
Skirt. Yeah.
Desiree Kraftchick
With Maddie.
Maddie
I got my name up on the stadium, which is cool.
Jenny
That's sick.
Desiree Kraftchick
Oh, yeah, that's pretty cool. So they have all the winners around the banner around the stadium?
Maddie
Yeah, the inside of the banner. I won. Oh, I don't even know. I guess 2019, it was my first tour title, and I think.
Desiree Kraftchick
Was that when it came back or when it was.
Maddie
It was before. It was like before COVID Oh, okay.
Jenny
It was before COVID Yeah, before the COVID year.
Jess
A 250 up against San Jose, right?
Maddie
Yeah, I think that's right.
Desiree Kraftchick
Got it.
Maddie
I don't Know, the fans are really fun. It's just hot. It gets so hot. But I looked and the weather actually doesn't look that bad compared to Florida right now, so I'm happy about that. But yeah, I mean, I always, like, it was kind of more of a last minute change of schedule for me because to be honest, like, Maddie, like, I just was really low on my mandatory commitments for the year, but I usually, always play. I usually love playing D.C. i don't know. The fans are fun. I went doubles there with Aaron one year as well.
Desiree Kraftchick
Oh, nice.
Maddie
Yeah.
Desiree Kraftchick
It's such a fun city. I feel like it is.
Maddie
Like there's so much to do.
Desiree Kraftchick
To do.
Maddie
Yeah. And it's a nice area, like close to Virginia, so I have one of my best friends lives there. And it's funny, I remember the year that I won it. I was playing the winner of ONS and iga, but they were playing, like, first round when, like, nobody really knew who they were. And I remember watching them on the side court and it was so hot. And IGA ended up winning. And then I played Egan. She was a baby. And I beat her on, like, one of the side courts. And I'll like, always just have that memory stuck in my head, like watching Baby Ons and Baby Iga battle it out on a side court in D.C. in that rock Creek Park.
Jenny
Oh, my gosh.
Desiree Kraftchick
Oh, my gosh. Crazy. Okay, we know hydration and electrolytes are important, but I've tried so many electrolyte brands over the years, and I finally found one. I absolutely love, Cure. Most importantly, I really wanted something clean. And that's what I love about cure's ingredients. It's just coconut water and pink Himalayan salt doing the work, not sugar.
Jenny
It's light and so refreshing. Perfect for hot summer days. It's not too sweet, not too salty, and it tastes like actual fruit without the artificial aftertaste. It comes in a ton of flavors like peach, mango, watermelon, lemonade, strawberry, kiwi, blood orange. And if you're not sure which to try, there's always the variety pack. And again, no added sugar, no artificial sweeteners. You can just flip the packet over and actually read and understand what the ingredients are.
Desiree Kraftchick
I personally love the watermelon and blood orange flavors. I tried it and now I can't stop using it. It's completely become a staple in my routine. I keep sticks in my purse, my car, gym bag, and it's great when you're feeling a little dehydrated after a long flight. It's so easy to use on the go.
Jenny

Okay, so in honor of Memphis, we are going to go over some Southern sayings and see if we have heard them and. Or know what they mean. So has anyone heard someone say, bless your heart?
Jenny
Yeah.
Desiree Kraftchick
Yes.
Jess
It basically just means you're dumb.
Jenny
It really means, wow, BLEEP me.
Maddie
Bless your heart, honey. My God.
Jess
It's like, oh, that's sad.
Desiree Kraftchick
That's tough.
Jess
I'm fixing, too.
Desiree Kraftchick
Yeah, fixing too.
Jess
Yes.
Maddie
Yeah.
Jenny
I like, I want to go.
Jess
I'm like, I'm about to do something.
Jenny
Yeah, I'm ready.
Maddie
Wow. I'm fixing to go to D. Fixing to do something. Yeah.
Desiree Kraftchick
Yeah.
Jess
That dog won't hunt.
Desiree Kraftchick
Nope.
Maddie
I don't know if I've heard that one.
Jenny
Is it like referencing, like, they won't do it. Won't do it.
Maddie
They won't do anything.
Jess
No, it's more like that idea, like, doesn't work. Like that doesn't. That's not gonna work. It's hotter than blue blazes.
Maddie
I have not heard that one.
Desiree Kraftchick
What is blazes hot as hell.
Jess
Yeah, it's hot, but I haven't heard that one.
Maddie
I feel like in the south they have a lot of those. It's hotter than insert something that whatever you've never heard before, but you know, it means that it's really hot.
Jess
Yeah. He's all hat and no cattle.
Desiree Kraftchick
Like, all bark, no bite.
Jenny
Is this like me? I'm all bark but no bite?
Desiree Kraftchick
Yes.
Jess
You can put lipstick on a pig.
Jenny
Oh, my God.
Desiree Kraftchick
I heard that.
Jenny
Jess, Your friend says that one.
Maddie
It's not great.
Jenny
Yeah, it's like, it's something's ugly.
Jess
I mean, you can try, but it's still ugly.
Desiree Kraftchick
Still. It's still not. Not it.
Jess
Happy as a clam.
Desiree Kraftchick
Yes, happy as a clam. I guess clams are popular in the South.
Jess
I'm sweating like a sinner in church. Hell.
Desiree Kraftchick
Yeah.
Jess
Oh, can't.
Desiree Kraftchick
I guess I can't say that.
Jess
Ain't got a pot to pee in.
Desiree Kraftchick
You have nowhere to go. To the bathroom.
Jenny
Yeah.
Maddie
Is it usually pissing? Sorry, I'm getting all the more derogatory terms. You're.
Jess
You're very broke.
Maddie
Oh. Oh, wow.
Desiree Kraftchick
Yeah, that went over my head.
Jess
If the creek don't rise.
Desiree Kraftchick
Is that in a song?
Maddie
The creek don't rise. I don't know if I've heard that. If the creek don't rise.
Desiree Kraftchick
If the creek don't rise.
Maddie
Like it's gonna flood. Like, that's bad.
Jess
It's. No, it's is if everything goes to plan.
Maddie
Okay.
Desiree Kraftchick
Don't rise.
Jenny
Oh,
Maddie
that makes sense. Because it's bad. If it rises, it floods. That's bad.
Unidentified Guest
Yes.
Maddie
I'm start using that wood Busier than
Jess
a one legged man in a butt kicking contest.
Jenny
Contest.
Jess
What?
Jenny
My mom has said that one before.
Desiree Kraftchick
I've never heard Lizzie.
Jess
Lizzy pulls that one out.
Desiree Kraftchick
I can hear Lizzy saying that too.
Jenny
Yeah, I think I've heard her say that one. Yeah, like you're hella busy.
Jess
Yes. That'll learn you.
Maddie
Like that'll teach you.
Jenny
Yeah, yeah.
Jess
My grandma used to say that one. He's got ants in his pants.
Jenny
Yeah. Oh, he's itching.
Jess
He can't sit still.
Maddie
Yeah. And also itchy.
Jess
Yeah. Nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.
Maddie
Okay. No, I've never.
Jess
No, I've actually heard.
Desiree Kraftchick
Are they nervous of that?
Maddie
It's so long.
Jenny
That's very specific.
Desiree Kraftchick
Wow.
Jess
Obviously you're very nervous. She thinks the sun rises and sets on him.
Maddie
Yes, I've heard that.
Desiree Kraftchick
I've never heard of it.
Maddie
Like she thinks the world of it.
Desiree Kraftchick
Yeah, she's upset.
Maddie
She's very obsessed.
Jess
He could talk the bark off a tree.
Maddie
Yeah, like he talks.
Jenny
He talks a lot.
Jess
I've heard that.
Maddie
Talk to a wall, basically.
Desiree Kraftchick
Yeah, yeah.
Jenny
Talk to a wall.
Jess
Pitch a hissy fit.
Desiree Kraftchick
Yeah, I've heard that.
Maddie
I've heard that.
Jenny
What's the word I'm looking for? Maddie?
Jess
I don't know. I'm not. I'm not there right now.
Jenny
I need you to connect.
Jess
Sorry.
Maddie
That's dramatic.
Jenny
Like a menzie bee. Yeah, like a mental breakdown.
Desiree Kraftchick
Oh, yeah.
Maddie
Freaking out.
Jess
Dadgum it.
Jenny
Oh, darn it, darn it, darn it.
Jess
And then cattywampus.
Maddie
I actually have heard of this, but I don't really know what it means.
Desiree Kraftchick
How do you use it? In a phrase or a sentence? Can I.
Jenny
Can you use that in a sentence? Please?
Desiree Kraftchick
Yeah, please. Can you spell that?
Jess
That picture is cattywampus.
Jenny
Could you give me the origin?
Jess
I think it means origin is the south. It's crooked or out of place.
Jenny
Okay, I would just say crooked.
Jess
Like, you're not gonna pull out cattywampus?
Jenny
Yeah, I'm gonna pull it out. Wow.
Desiree Kraftchick
I don't even know how to spell that.
Jenny
Yeah. All right, well, moving on to who am I? My three clues from last week are I was a junior French. I went into this speaking.
Desiree Kraftchick
Yeah, same.
Jenny
And now I'm like, I kind of want to crazy because it's. He. He was a junior French Open champion, his mom was his first coach, and he recently forgot about car payments. I'm trying to redo the last one because I just copied and pasted.
Desiree Kraftchick
But you could have just said his car was repossessed recently.
Jenny
Yeah, but I don't remember what I said last week because I butchered it.
Jess
You said something about card missing car payments.
Jenny
Yeah, I think I said all the above. Okay. People are into it, Jessica. I am.
Desiree Kraftchick
He likes Mr. Sniffles.
Jenny
Everyone here got it right. I am Tommy Paul.
Maddie
Duh.
Jenny
Easy, easy, easy. Maddie, would you like to do your. Who am I?
Maddie
Sure.
Jess
Tennis runs in the family. Childhood idol was Maria Sharapova and college graduate.
Maddie
College graduate. That's weird that you said college graduate and then, like, she didn't play.
Jess
As in, like, finished all well. No, I'm saying, like, played all four. All years of college.
Unidentified Guest
Okay.
Jess
Versus, like, went and then left early.
Desiree Kraftchick
What was the first clue? Marie Sharpova was her idol. And then what was the other one?
Jess
Tennis runs in the family.
Desiree Kraftchick
Hmm. I'm gonna have to ponder on this one.
Jenny
Wow. The family.
Jess
All right, Family.
Jenny
Do you know that movie?
Desiree Kraftchick
No.
Jenny
Fast and Furious. Okay.
Jess
I was literally just about to say Fast and Furious. Thank you, Bjorn, for my birthday cards. Always writes a Fast and Furious quote.
Maddie
Like, really? That's so funny.
Jenny
Oh, that's so good. I'm gonna do that next year. Okay, moving on to fan questions and low stakes advice. First question from Barbara. Which TV show would you want to be a guest on and as yourself or what type of character?
Jess
Watch what happens live as myself.
Desiree Kraftchick
I want to be Monica Geller on Friends because I am her.
Jenny
Anyways,
Maddie
We have no idea. I already knew it was Maddie was gonna say, so I was like, that's given. I don't know. All my favorite TV shows are, like, messed up, so I don't want to be them.
Jenny
I'm just trying to think, like, a show that I've watched recently that I really like. Slow horses.
Jess
Oh, I was gonna say Schitt's Creek for you.
Jenny
Oh, Schitt's Creek.
Maddie
Yeah. Yeah.
Jess
Specifically. Specifically the. La la la la la.
Jenny
Oh, my God. Sydney Sweeney on Euphoria.
Desiree Kraftchick
Oh, wow. We just took a turn.
Jenny
That was good.
Maddie
I don't really have one. Sorry.
Jenny
Okay, that's fine. All right, next question from Christopher. If you've ever thrown your racket mid match, do you think it made you play worse or better afterwards?
Desiree Kraftchick
Better.
Maddie
Both.
Desiree Kraftchick
Both definitely feel better after because I need it. But then I feel like because I just have only three rackets left for the remainder of four weeks on the road.
Maddie
Yeah, it's like, shoot, I have one freaking racket left.
Desiree Kraftchick
I know.
Maddie
Stupid. And then you, like, are mad about that.
Jess
Yep. Or the worst is like you have like a tiny crack in it because it wasn't even a good throw. Like, you weren't trying to do anything.
Unidentified Guest
Yes.
Jess
It's just the tiniest crack. It's not really broken. And then you take it to the stringer and they're like, you know, this is broken. You're like, I have two left.
Desiree Kraftchick
Please string it. Just be gentle with it.
Maddie
I don't need you to examine.
Jess
Be careful.
Desiree Kraftchick
Please don't pull too hard.
Jenny
Okay. I think it depends. Sometimes it feels really good and then sometimes it feels so good that you just want to do it again and again.
Maddie
Oh, oh.
Desiree Kraftchick
Do we need to unpack this?
Jenny
No. Okay, thanks everyone for your fan questions and low stakes advice. Please leave us a rating and review.
