So I went so hard at the wedding last week that I got strep throat.

And it was funny. Well, not funny, but I did break something there, because, of course, I break a lot of things. Broke something there. I thought I cleaned it up. Obviously didn't. But I told Jenny I stepped on it and she goes, oh, yeah. Like, I picked up a huge piece of glass there when I was there, and I was like, what? I, like, vacuumed. I did everything but, you know, glass. Like, you never, like, clean all of it up.

And I don't know how I had slippers on. I don't understand how that happened. I think my foot must have. You know, like, sometimes when you're dragging your feet and they kind of slip out. And I think when I went to put my, like, foot firmly down in my slipper, there was, like, this tiny little piece that just jabbed me right in the heel. And I literally actually had to pull it, like, clean out. And it was really small, but it was bleeding a ton. But I was fine. But it wasn't great.

Yeah. Actually, I have a picture. It looks really bad. It was, like, so small, but it was Actually, like, kind of a longer piece, so I had to, like, literally, like, I was trying to make sure I pulled it clean out. So, like, you know, you don't leave anything in there.

So that happened, but it's been fine. No issues on the court with that, which I was at the weddings. I think both times, someone broke something on the dance floor.

You know, everyone starts taking their shoes off. And at Tommy's wedding, I didn't have backup shoes like I did at Asia's, because I was at the same hotel. I remember my agent Chris, being like, jess, just get.

You don't have any shoes on. Like, get away from here. We don't need any injuries at Tommy Paul's wedding. Like, that would be disaster.

So I think it was, like, circling me, but I didn't quite actually do it, I guess, till I was home. But I'm fine, Des.

I can't really think of an unforced error other than I brought a puzzle with me to Memphis. And, you know, I like to do a little bit of puzzling, and I obviously picked a puzzle that. This sounds so lame. I picked a puzzle that had full sky, and you just. It's just impossible to do. And I just want to throw my whole puzzle, like, away, because the sky is the hardest part. And it's. It's basically right where I'm looking at where the laptop is. It's just right there. I haven't touched it for three days. So leaving this puzzle here and just hope someone else uses it or just gives it away, I just. I can't. I can't do it.

My unforced error of the week kind of goes hand in hand with my update from DC I lost first round and was. I practiced the next day and was, like, in the gym to do a workout after, and I'm, like, mid. Mid lift in not match clothes in the middle of a conversation in between sets, and one of the staff comes over for the. Like, for the tour. And is like, hey, so your match today. Do you care if we switch your courts? And I was like, I lost, so I'm not who you're looking for. She was like, oh, you're not? And then just walked away.

Who was she looking for? Did you ever find out?

She was looking for Heather Watson, which I deduced. Oh, gosh. But the best part was Francis was there and watched the entire interaction happen and was basically on the ground laughing.

And then he did that, like, he almost tackles you, like, hug thing that he does. And then he was like, I cannot believe that just happened. I was like, yeah. I was like, jess isn't on the schedule today. That's usually like that. So I scanned the gym and I was like, oh, Heather, that's. That's definitely who she thinks that I am.

Oh, it was because I didn't have my afternoon double espresso or Celsius the day before. And so I thought it was like a caffeine headache. No. Turns out it was a strep. Yeah.

Is it the first time you've ever gotten strep? Yeah, because you've been saying it's the worst thing I've ever had.

It's the first time. Because I've never had this before because it's literally the worst thing I've ever had.

But then I was like, I wasn't, like, singing, so I don't know. And I, like, bought all this stuff, you know, And I was doing the saltwater gargle, that apple cider vinegar, garlic.

I did every. Yes, I did. I did everything. I was, like, literally taking honey and squeezing it down my throat, like, to

And he's in the gym and I run into the tournament director on the way to the gym, which it originally started because the quali's draw so many people got in, they had all of their wild cards available. So they were like, oh, Bjorn's here. Does he want one? I was like, I guess we'll see. So he gets the wildcard, wins. And I run into the tournament director and they're like, so he drew Gale first round and they're gonna be night match tomorrow night. And so I walk into the gym and Bjorn is biking and he's like, everything hurts. My abs hurt, my feet hurt. Like thank God I have a day off tomorrow. And I said, you don't you play night match against ko.

Literally like the first point of the match he did a jumping overhead winner thing. And I was like, oh.

I was also having a menti b because I was like, there's no evidence. I don't understand how they've arrested this poor woman. None of this makes any sense to me. So I'm very close to writing a strongly worded letter to the Anaheim Police Department because none of it made sense.

Yeah, Once I saw the 40 minutes, I was like, I just want to skip to the end. I was like, I don't think I can sit through another 40 minutes. I kept trying to turn it off.

Well, I'm just going off of what we've talked in the past, but, I mean, with people, like, taking forever on serve, and then it's getting annoying because they're trying to stall the time even though they're not serving stuff like that. Like, I'm sure it gets annoying at some point, but then you get over it.

But no, that's for sure. Like, there's that stuff. I think it's probably more annoying for you in doubles because it's like, no, doubles is so quick, and I feel like it's, like, faster. So then you notice it more.

It feels like more of a nuisance when that stuff happens to me in doubles because I'm more like, oh, come on. Are you serious? Like, let's just like, like, let's keep going. Whereas sometimes, like, singles, I don't know, the points are longer. Like, the court's sometimes bigger if you're playing on, like, a bigger court. So, like, the walking's longer, and it just kind of feels like it's more part of the match. But in doubles, you're kind of like, seriously, like, let's go here. Like, what's going on?

Yeah, like, a changeover in doubles feels like seven hours and a change. It does feel singles.

So you think it's probably because you're watching a lot of our singles matches and they're, like, zooming in, intuitive everything, and, like, they're all their cameras on the opponent, and you see every little thing that they're doing. to just be focused. And that's just the last thing. Like, why I'd be focusing on little things. That's because you're locked in.
