It's Thursday, the 30th of April, the very last day of the month. How about that? Welcome to the PDB Afternoon Bulletin. I'm Mike Baker, your eyes and ears on the world stage. All right, lets get briefed. First up, new signs that the US could be preparing to renew military operations against Iran as the White House reviews strike plans and reportedly may be preparing to use a hypersonic weapon for the first time. I'll add the details later in the show. Authorities across Europe are investigating a wave of attacks targeting Jewish communities, and the fingerprints from those attacks may lead back to Iran. But first, today's afternoon spotlight. This morning we noted that the White House was looking to make the ongoing US Blockade of Iran the central point of pressure on the regime. However, it does appear that military options are still very much on the table. According to new reporting, President Trump is set to receive a high level briefing from the US Central Command on a range of updated military options for Iran. And these are reportedly concrete proposals designed to either break the current stalemate in negotiations or deliver a decisive blow before ending the conflict altogether. Now, it's worth noting that the last time Trump received a similar briefing from CENTCOM back in late February, it helped set the stage for the opening phase of the war. So this is the kind of meeting that could shift the direction of the conflict. Among the options being presented is a, quote, short and powerful wave of strikes with targeting key Iranian infrastructure. The idea here would be speed and intensity, hit hard, hit fast, and force Tehran back to the negotiating table under pressure. Another plan under consideration involves securing parts of the Strait of Hormuz, potentially with ground forces to ensure commercial shipping can move freely again. Now that would mark a significant escalation, of course, shifting from a naval blockade to physically controlling territory along the strait, and of course, putting US Forces in direct proximity to Iranian weapons systems, including drones and short range missiles. There's also been discussion of a special operations mission aimed at securing Iran's stockpile of highly enriched uranium. Now that's a high risk but high reward move that could strike at the heart of the regime's nuclear leverage. But perhaps the most notable development is the potential deployment of a weapon that the US has never used in combat before, the Army's long range hypersonic weapon known as Dark Eagle. Each missile reportedly carries a price tag of around $15 million, and there are only a handful currently available. So it's not a weapon that you would use casually. It's reserved for, you would think, the highest value targets. The system is designed to strike targets at extreme distances, more than 1,700 miles, while traveling at speeds that make it incredibly difficult to intercept. In practical terms, it would allow U.S. forces to hit time sensitive, heavily defended targets like missile launchers that are currently out of reach for other systems. And that's key because intelligence suggests that Iran has been attempting to move some of those launchers beyond the range of existing US Precision strike capabilities. If approved, this would mark the first operational use of a US Hypersonic weapon in a significant moment, not just for this conflict, but in the broader competition with adversaries like Russia and China that have already developed similar systems. For now, the blockade reportedly remains Trump's preferred tool of pressure. But the fact that these options are being briefed and that advanced systems like Dark Eagle are under consideration makes one thing if the current strategy fails to produce results, the next phase of this conflict could escalate quickly. Alright, coming up next, a string of attacks across Europe may be part of a broader hybrid warfare campaign being conducted by the Iranian regime. I'll be right back. Hey, Mike Baker here. Let me take just a moment, if I could, to talk about something very important for anyone on Medicare, right? Or about to sign up for Medicare. Here's the thing. When folks get Medicare guidance, they rarely consider this fact that agents get paid by big insurance to sell specific plans. Look, that's just the way business works. So the advice that you may be getting, it's not necessarily in your best interests. It means you're often shown what they're paid to show you. Not every option that's out there. And the result? Well, the result is your doctor might not be covered or your prescriptions could cost way more than they should. And the problem is more common than you think. And those unnecessary costs can add up quickly. Here's what I think. You need someone with no skin in the game. And that's why I've partnered with Chapter. They're the only national advisor comparing every plan that's available. Their advisors are salaried, so they have zero incentive to steer you in a particular direction. And get this, It's a free 20 minute call. Come on, it couldn't be any easier. If you're turning 65 or already on Medicare, just call Chapter at 915-67152. Again, give Chapter a call their number 915-671-5252. Hey, Mike Baker here with a very solid household tip because as you know, I'm all about household tips. Look, it's time for spring cleaning. Welcome back to the PDB Afternoon Bulletin. At first glance, an Empty car set ablaze in the Jewish district of Antwerp in Belgium. Well, it didn't seem like much, but as similar incidents began to surface, it became harder to dismiss them as one off acts of vandalism and easier to see the outline of perhaps something coordinated across Europe. In the hours after the car fire in late March, police moved in quickly and arrested two teenagers. Not long after, grainy footage of the incident surfaced online showing one person pouring liquid over the car and another lighting it. And then comes a claim of responsibility from a group that until recently didn't even exist in public view. That would be the Islamic movement of the Companions of the Right. The group this week has claimed responsibility for an attack in Golders Green, London, a heavily Jewish neighborhood where an attacker stabbed two individuals. Previous incidents have included explosions outside synagogues and Jewish schools across Belgium and the Netherlands, and vehicles set on fire in multiple cities. And in North London, ambulances tied to a Jewish charity were torched. All of the attacks unfolding over roughly two months across the United Kingdom, Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands, largely targeting Jewish or Israeli linked sites, often under the COVID of darkness. Now, these attacks haven't caused any deaths yet, and until the London stabbings, there hadn't been any reported injuries. What we're understanding is that they're small by design with limited physical damage and maximum psychological impact. And that appears to be the point, because when you look at the individuals carrying these out, it doesn't resemble a traditional terror network. Intelligence agencies across Europe say many of those involved are teenagers or young adults, mostly locals with no deep ideological ties and no formal training. In many cases, they're recruited online through platforms like Snapchat or Telegram, or offered small amounts of cash and given simple instructions. According to the New York Times, a defense lawyer in the Antwerp case said her client had, quote, no idea what he was part of, but was simply trying to make, quote, quick cash. The lawyer went on to say that the teenagers across these incidents are, quote, basically cannon fodder. They're being used, end quote. While European authorities have not formally attributed these attacks, the tactics, the targets, the geographic spread and even the online platforms were, these claims are circulating point in a familiar direction. Authorities across Europe are now investigating whether there are links, direct or indirect, to Iran or one of its regional proxies. And if that connection holds, it fits into a broader pattern that Western intelligence agencies have been warning about. Britain's MI5 already flagged a rise in Iranian linked activity across Europe even before the latest escalation in the Middle East. So what may be happening now is the clearest evidence of hybrid warfare. And PDB listeners have heard us talk about this before. From cyber activity to sabotage to disinformation campaigns, and now outsourced acts of street level violence carried out by individuals who may not even fully understand what they're part of, it's working, at least in the way that it's designed to. Jewish communities across Europe are now on edge. We're seeing synagogues increase security and governments step in with military and police foot patrols. In Britain alone, police arrested 28 people in connection with these incidents, with eight facing arson related charges. And that, my friends, is the PDB afternoon bulletin for Thursday 30th April.
