On this episode of the ROCPOD, Cam and The Beast start the show by talking about Miami Hurricanes' hardball. The Canes head to G-Ville as the 2 Seed. Do the Canes have a chance? As you know, on this show, it's only "Omaha or Bust." Also, UM announced some game times for the beginning of the football season, and the ACC announced home and away opponents for the basketball season. We discuss. Segment two brings us to football recruiting. It's a huge OV weekend. What names do you need to know? Cam has all the info. On this wonderful edition of the ROCPOD, Cam and The Beast give you the lowdown on the Mark Matthews saga as the St. Thomas Aquinas OT decided to head to College Station instead of Coral Gables. But, all is not lost, the Canes flipped another one (DJ Khaled Voice) as Mario and the staff refuse to Duck away from the competition (see what we did there). There is some football scheduling news that we think works out to Miami's favor. The Canes' baseball team has come to the end of the regular season after losing two of three to Florida State. Pitching and defense continue to haunt this team, and it doesn't bode well for a postseason run, but anything can happen. Finally, we dive into the prospects of a 24-team playoff. Would it diminish the regular season? Will these kids be playing into March? Mario doesn't like it. Do we? Please check out all the great work Cam and his staff do at StateofTheU. On this episode of the ROCPOD, Cam and The Beast give you the skinny on Terry Jefferson being promoted to CB coach, and Will Harris being promoted to Secondary Coach and Pass Defense Game Coordinator. Good moves for Miami? We all thought St. Thomas OT Mark Matthews was going to Texas A&M. Wellllllll....hold that thought. He has scheduled an official visit to Miami. Are the Canes still in this? The Canes baseball team has reached the end of the regular season, and the pitching is not so bueno. One series left before they find out where they are going in the regional. It will be an uphill climb regardless. Finally, The Beast worked the phones this past week to get info on the Canes Athletics Director search. He's got info, hot takes, thoughts, and opinions. Times are changing at The U. We found out last week that Dan Radakovich would be stepping down as the Director of Athletics. We invited the great Michelle Kaufman on the show to talk about why Dan is stepping down, what he accomplished at The U, and what's next. As for what's next, The Beast did some reporting this week to figure out what The U might be looking for in a new AD. Is it truly Michael Yorkmark's job? Why do people not like Michael Yormark? What's the connection between Yormark and The U (it goes beyond his daughter being a Sunsation)? And there's intel on a few of the other candidates. On this episode of the ROCPOD, we did a deep dive into the NFL Draft and the Miami Hurricanes that were taken, plus the guys that signed as UDFA. We were surprised that some guys dropped, and surprised that others seemed to be picked before we thought they would go. We touched on the latest recruiting news. Don't worry. All will be ok in the Gables. Plus, it looks like Dan Radakovich will be retiring, and a new AD will be hired soon. We dive into that and more. Cam plays host and gets The Beast's thoughts on the Spring Game. The Beast battled the sun and the Palmetto Expressway to get to the Gables and be on the sidelines for the Canes' Spring Game. He has thoughts and feelings and opinions and hot takes. Go check out all of the great work that Cam and his staff do at StateOfTheU.com Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. We interrupt your Miami Hurricanes Spring Game preparation to discuss the new deals that Miami's OC and DC got a few days ago. We praise The U for doing what it takes to keep Mario Cristobal's lieutenants in the Gables. How does former UM president Donna Shalala factor into this? Beast tells you. Mario and Alex Mirabal continue to build a dominate and deep offensive line by getting big commitments and a JUCO transfer. Jai Lucas has his work cut out for him with the basketball roster. There are two returning players, one big time recruit, and two transfers. That's it. For Now. Should we be worried? Cam says no. Why are Francis Mauigoa and Rueben Bain dropping in mock drafts? Do teams have ulterior motives? Finally, the Spring Game is here! Who do the guys look forward to seeing? What do they expect from this Spring Game? Will it live up to the hype? On this episode of the ROCPOD, we do a deep dive into this absolutely loaded Miami Hurricanes' wide receiver room. Who will get run out of this talented group? It's been reported that Luke Nickel is QB2. Beast thought maybe Dereon Coleman would earn the spot. Cam breaks down Luke's game, going back to his days dominating Georgia high school football. Speaking of QBs, the Canes got two QB commits this week. We give you the breakdown on the two QBs, and Cam tells you why one of them got an offer. NFL reporters and draft gurus are still up in arms (see what we did there?) about Rueben Bain's arm length. A bunch of GMs are going to kick themselves for passing up on Bain. Jai Lucas has to replace some players who have entered the portal. We give you the update. Don't forget to go check out Cam and his staff's great work at StateOfTheU. The Miami Hurricanes football team has moved to the full-pads portion of Spring Practice. Beast is dismayed at a certain batch of fans who see one highlight and pronounce that player a Hall of Famer. Cam pushes back. Maybe they find some common ground. It's a huge recruiting weekend, and Cam gives you the lowdown on all of the players that will be in the Gables. Some Canes' hoops transfers are leaving the program. What will next year's team look like? Why hasn't the University of Miami built a statue to honor Howard Schnellenberger's impact on the program? Without Howard, there wouldn't be five national championships and the success since he got here in 1979. Please go check out Cam and his staff's great work at StateofTheU! This is a jam-packed episode of the ROCPOD. We start by putting a bow on the first year of the Jai Lucas era for Miami Hurricanes' basketball. They lost to Purdue in the round of 32, but the future seems really bright under Jai Lucas, if he stays in the Gables. The NFL Draft is coming up, and the Canes that hope to have their names called by Roger Goodell in a month worked out for more than 100 NFL personnel and all 32 teams on Monday. We tell you who improved their draft stock and who may have hurt their chances. Where will Carson Beck go? Cam and The Beast disagree on this one. The Canes have started Spring Practice. What have we learned so far? Who are we looking forward to seeing this Spring? Also, some major recruits have verbally committed to The U. We give you all of the deets.
