So Spain, do we think back to favourites again? Because after the first game, Cape Verde and we'll come to Cape Verde as well, obviously shortly. But everyone was going. But I think the fact that Lamina Mali is so important to them that. I mean, I know most of the teams in the tournament, they rely on the player and if anything happens to that player, they're in trouble. I only think with Spain, however good they may be elsewhere, he's so important to them. Spain now remain unbeaten, by the way, in each of their last 32 matches across all competitions. 123 draw nine. And that's the outright second longest streak without defeat in their history. They're not bad. They're not bad. What were they doing differently, Micah, today than the first game against Cape Verde? Apart from the presence of Of Lemine?

I just think moving the ball a lot quicker. I think Pedri was outstanding. I think Rodri was good. I think if you look at where there was winning the ball back as well. There was really pressing really high and then once Lemin came to where he was going inside or whether he was going the outside, he was attracting players as well. I felt like in the first game Watching Spain, it was tick attacker and it was easy for the other team to sort of defend against them. When you've got someone like Lemine who's on the pitch, he sort of changes the angles of everything and then once you get the ball out to him and he goes there with pace and that position, it's just too hard to get anywhere near him. I definitely think Spain are favourites. I feel like any of the teams in the World cup that have played with each other for longer than maybe two years. So you're looking at that team. You're looking at I would say obviously France as well and I'd say England as well. I feel like once it gets to the crunch time, you're talking like quarters and semis and finals. I feel like they're players that almost like system players. Feel like I've enjoyed the World cup, it's very free flowing but sometimes I'm watching games and it does look like uncles in the park. It's all a bit all over the place. Do you know what I mean? You're like, look, I can't talk, I'm not professional footballer.

Joe. Joe, I want. It's great that you're on today, particularly, I think, because I think there's quite a few good goalkeeping stories. The first one is interesting, is Unai Simon obviously is in charge. I think most. I'm sure Mo agrees that obviously David Raya has been so unbelievably fantastic for Arsenal that he's not in the side. What are your thoughts on that, Joe?

I think it's tough. I think it's very much. Unai Simon came in when David De Gea took over from Ikea Casillas and he was the number one. And David De Gea was playing at Manchester United at such a level when he had that drop off and Luis Enrique was under so much pressure to take him out of the team. Unai Simon was kind of not really bashing on the door, but he kind of got him by default. And since that moment, he's not really put a foot wrong. The coaches really liked him, obviously. They won the tournament two years ago and David Reyer. Mo, I know you'll be a big fan. I'm a massive fan of David Reha. David Reyer is hot right now. He's at the highest of his possibilities of his powers and it seems like he's getting better. But as a goalkeeper, you guys would have experienced it through your career. Meeks, you'll have experienced it and I've actually felt the benefit of it. Once you've got that number one jersey, you almost have to lose it yourself rather than someone go past you. And he's playing at such a high level in terms of athletic in La Liga and also doing so well, not really putting a foot wrong for Spain. He's an important cog to their chain. They're very much a team team. They're not looking for those stars. Lamina Mel's obviously so important to them in terms of that stardust, but in terms of those guys behind the scenes, those soldiers who are well drilled, he's a really good goalkeeper for that. He's safe. Good pair of hands. And David Rea, of course, is one of the world's best at this moment in time. But Simon's done well over the last couple of years and they're going to do well to take the jersey off him.

I know why David Reyer should be playing, okay. He should be playing because he's electric. He looks like he's a real match winner. As I say, Mo, you'll appreciate that more than anyone. There's no way Arsenal Win that, win that title without him being at his elite best. Would they have won it with Unai Simon? I don't know. But I'm also going to make the argument I've been a goalkeeper that's been at my best level when I was a bit younger and then through the years it was about being safe and solid, someone you could rely on. And Simon offers that with so much stardust around in the Spanish team that he's a real vital cog. But I don't think he'd lose a wink of sleep if he had to play. Him or Garcia.

I think maybe the story of this World Cup's Cape Verde or at this. Certainly at this stage. And Joe, the goalkeeper of Virginia, obviously, I mean, he made another couple of really good saves. They got another draw. He was heroic in the first game, obviously. And now he's up to 15.2 million followers. And I was thinking at the end, it looked like he might have made a mistake, but he was offside, he got away with it. Otherwise I think everyone would have unfollowed him. But it's a lovely story, Joe, isn't it?

That's literally. It is. And that moment you're talking about, Gary, that is literally the life of a goalkeeper. My heart sank because, look, he's making unbelievable saves. Of course he is in the numbers. And to keep a clean sheet against Spain and his profile rise, you just kind of feel like you can't help but feel it as a goalkeeper. You feel protective. You almost want the game to go by without you having to have anything to do. It's not like a striker. You don't want to score a hat trick again. You just want to just blend back into the background and let your hard work pay off.

Ah, no. Well, they're just a nice little sprinkle. But honestly, if you want to be, if you want to have that kind of longevity and for him to have that spike. We're going to talk about Instagram followers, because that's the modern world we live in. Like, his fame has risen. He's on everyone's lips. He's an absolute story. But we all know, like I say, Gary, for you to score three, and if you don't score again for two games, no one's really bothered. Oh, yeah, if he'd have come in tonight and had a stinker. But if he'd have come in tonight and had a stinker, you just immediately like, oh, it was a one off, like, get out of here. So for him to just have a solid game, I know he had that moment, but he knew it was offside anyway, so he didn't waste his effort.

No. He was so difficult and I loved playing against him and genuinely feel honoured that I shared the pitch with him, I think, on four occasions. But to enjoy his quality and, you know, the worst thing about him as a goalkeeper was you. I'd go in goal and as it got narrowed down, I'd want to make it as difficult as I possibly could. And the best players, Gary, I'm sure you were one of these. When you had people narrowing the angle, you'd have to give them something because it was always in your advantage. In a 1v1 or whatever, he'd always take the hardest one on and take it on with the most calmness. So if I would give him the cut back rather than. And block the goal big, he'd cut it back calmly. And if I didn't, if I gave him the far post and said, you're going to have to beat me at the far post, as I just see the ball cruise past me in the far corner. And that was quite disheartening when you play against players like that. But it also brings the best out.

But I think the fact that Lamina Mali is so important to them that. I only think with Spain, however good they may be elsewhere, he's so important to them. Spain now remain unbeaten, by the way, in each of their last 32 matches across all competitions. 123 draw nine. There was really pressing really high and then once Lemin came to where he was going inside or whether he was going the outside, he was attracting players as well. When you've got someone like Lemine who's on the pitch, he sort of changes the angles of everything and then once you get the ball out to him and he goes there with pace and that position, it's just too hard to get anywhere near him. You're looking at I would say obviously France as well and I'd say England as well. I feel like once it gets to the crunch time, you're talking like quarters and semis and finals. I feel like they're players that almost like system players. Feel like I've enjoyed the World cup, it's very free flowing but sometimes I'm watching games and it does look like uncles in the park. The first one is interesting, is Unai Simon obviously is in charge. I think most. I'm sure Mo agrees that obviously David Raya has been so unbelievably fantastic for Arsenal that he's not in the side. What are your thoughts on that, Joe?

I think it's tough. I think it's very much. Unai Simon came in when David De Gea took over from Ikea Casillas and he was the number one. And David De Gea was playing at Manchester United at such a level when he had that drop off and Luis Enrique was under so much pressure to take him out of the team. Unai Simon was kind of not really bashing on the door, but he kind of got him by default. And since that moment, he's not really put a foot wrong. The coaches really liked him, obviously. They won the tournament two years ago and David Reyer. Mo, I know you'll be a big fan. I'm a massive fan of David Reha. David Reyer is hot right now. He's at the highest of his possibilities of his powers and it seems like he's getting better. But as a goalkeeper, you guys would have experienced it through your career. Meeks, you'll have experienced it and I've actually felt the benefit of it. Once you've got that number one jersey, you almost have to lose it yourself rather than someone go past you. And he's playing at such a high level in terms of athletic in La Liga and also doing so well, not really putting a foot wrong for Spain. He's an important cog to their chain. They're very much a team team. They're not looking for those stars. Lamina Mel's obviously so important to them in terms of that stardust, but in terms of those guys behind the scenes, those soldiers who are well drilled, he's a really good goalkeeper for that. He's safe. Good pair of hands. And David Rea, of course, is one of the world's best at this moment in time. But Simon's done well over the last couple of years and they're going to do well to take the jersey off him.

I know why David Reyer should be playing, okay. He should be playing because he's electric. He looks like he's a real match winner. As I say, Mo, you'll appreciate that more than anyone. There's no way Arsenal Win that, win that title without him being at his elite best. Would they have won it with Unai Simon? I don't know. But I'm also going to make the argument I've been a goalkeeper that's been at my best level when I was a bit younger and then through the years it was about being safe and solid, someone you could rely on. And Simon offers that with so much stardust around in the Spanish team that he's a real vital cog. But I don't think he'd lose a wink of sleep if he had to play. Him or Garcia.

I think maybe the story of this World Cup's Cape Verde or at this. Certainly at this stage. And Joe, the goalkeeper of Virginia, obviously, I mean, he made another couple of really good saves. They got another draw. He was heroic in the first game, obviously. And now he's up to 15.2 million followers. And I was thinking at the end, it looked like he might have made a mistake, but he was offside, he got away with it. Otherwise I think everyone would have unfollowed him. But it's a lovely story, Joe, isn't it?

That's literally. It is. And that moment you're talking about, Gary, that is literally the life of a goalkeeper. My heart sank because, look, he's making unbelievable saves. Of course he is in the numbers. And to keep a clean sheet against Spain and his profile rise, you just kind of feel like you can't help but feel it as a goalkeeper. You feel protective. You almost want the game to go by without you having to have anything to do. It's not like a striker. You don't want to score a hat trick again. You just want to just blend back into the background and let your hard work pay off.

Ah, no. Well, they're just a nice little sprinkle. But honestly, if you want to be, if you want to have that kind of longevity and for him to have that spike. We're going to talk about Instagram followers, because that's the modern world we live in. Like, his fame has risen. He's on everyone's lips. He's an absolute story. But we all know, like I say, Gary, for you to score three, and if you don't score again for two games, no one's really bothered. Oh, yeah, if he'd have come in tonight and had a stinker. But if he'd have come in tonight and had a stinker, you just immediately like, oh, it was a one off, like, get out of here. So for him to just have a solid game, I know he had that moment, but he knew it was offside anyway, so he didn't waste his effort.

It's only now I've come out of it, I realize that, yeah, 100% mad. Because all three of those names, not one ounce of fear is going through my body. I want all three of them running at me at once. And I want impact. I want to meet them at the ball. I want their best shot, I want their hardest shot. And I now realize what a ridiculous way of thinking, like, how on earth is that a mindset? But it's only now I've come out of it. But honestly, if you'd have asked me that when I was in game, in play, all I would want is those three coming at me. No defenders, no nothing. Let's have it.

No. He was so difficult and I loved playing against him and genuinely feel honoured that I shared the pitch with him, I think, on four occasions. But to enjoy his quality and, you know, the worst thing about him as a goalkeeper was you. I'd go in goal and as it got narrowed down, I'd want to make it as difficult as I possibly could. And the best players, Gary, I'm sure you were one of these. When you had people narrowing the angle, you'd have to give them something because it was always in your advantage. In a 1v1 or whatever, he'd always take the hardest one on and take it on with the most calmness. So if I would give him the cut back rather than. And block the goal big, he'd cut it back calmly. And if I didn't, if I gave him the far post and said, you're going to have to beat me at the far post, as I just see the ball cruise past me in the far corner. And that was quite disheartening when you play against players like that. But it also brings the best out.
