tremphya, including important safety information. I sold my car in Carvana last night. Well, that's cool.
Danny Kelly
No, you don't understand.
Danny Heifetz
It went perfectly. Real offer down to the penny. They're picking it up tomorrow. Nothing went wrong. So what's the problem? That is the problem. Nothing in my life goes as smoothly. I'm waiting for the catch.
Craig Rolbeck
Maybe there's no catch.
Danny Heifetz
That's exactly what a catch would want me to think. Wow. You need to relax. I need to knock on wood. Do we have. What is this table wood?
Craig Rolbeck
I think it's laminate.
Danny Heifetz
Okay. Yeah, that's good. That's close enough. Car selling without a catch. Sell your car today on Carvana. Pick up fees may apply. So it's mayo, pickles and spices mixed with chopped corn, cornichons, cornichon, coron, gherkins, capers, tarragon, dill, parsley and chives.
Craig Rolbeck
Huh? Okay. Anyway.
Danny Kelly
Welcome to the Ringer NFL draft show, soon to be the Ringer Fantasy football show. My name is Danny H. And I'm joined by Danny Kelly and Craig Rolbeck. And we're going to go through all 32 drafts. We're going to draft the draft. I can't believe no one's done this before. We're going to draft which draft classes were the best.
Craig Rolbeck
That's right. Pretty simple, right? Draft, draft of that. We don't know if no one's ever thought of that, but if you did,
Danny Heifetz
you can say stuff. You can say whatever you want, Craig.
Danny Kelly
Guy beats an ostrich in an eating contest. He's the eating champion of the world. Apparently. He just grabbed the closest 10 plates
Craig Rolbeck
of spaghetti like nothing.
Danny Kelly
Unbelievable. Yeah. We're going to draft draft words and go through Deaki's draft. Grades are at NFL Draft, the Ringer.com and Craig and I are going to tear them to shreds. But first, couple pieces of news.
Danny Heifetz
What?
Danny Kelly
First of all, the Steelers have. I can't. I just saw this post from Adam Schefter and I, I, I'm just going to read it for Batum. I don't, I, I had never heard of this. Schefter posted this morning. Sources. The Steelers placed the rare right of first refusal tender on Aaron Rodgers, meaning that he can accept a 10% raise off last year's salary, which would pay him about $15 million this season. As another condition of the tender, Rogers would only be able to sign up the Steelers once training camp begins. End quote.
Craig Rolbeck
I didn't know what this was. I've never heard of this before. And so they're basically just saying you can get a 10% raise if you sign with the Steelers and that's it.
Danny Kelly
I had never heard of this. Apparently they can do this with any free agent that doesn't sign after the draft. I've never heard of this.
Danny Heifetz
Oh, you have to wait until after the draft to do it, apparently.
Danny Kelly
I think this is bizarre. I guess what it means in practice is basically they're going to be like, Aaron, you can have a 15% raise or you can retire, or you can go and play for someone else and if you sign a contract elsewhere, we'll match it. It's kind of weird that they had to do this.
Danny Heifetz
The key element is it gets him in the building in theory. Right.
Craig Rolbeck
Well, is it a 10 or 15%? I thought his tweet says 10.
Danny Kelly
Oh, yeah, sorry. It's 15 million, but I wrote down 50% raise. It's 10 raised, which is about $50 million.
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah.
Danny Kelly
Craig, so is this. Obviously it's not embarrassing that Aaron Rodgers is still not with the team. Was this.
Craig Rolbeck
You know what? Lay off. All right? Fuck.
Danny Kelly
That wasn't embarrassing. There's nothing embarrassing about your first round pick hanging up and being drafted by someone else. What do you want me to say?
Craig Rolbeck
What do you want me to say? Are we in the perfect situation right now? No, we're not. Okay. I'm trying to get excited about Jeremy Bernard. He's kind of all I have right now.
Danny Heifetz
I'm hanging on my thread here.
Craig Rolbeck
Okay. Yeah, it's messy. We have Drew Aller, we have Aaron Rodgers, maybe that's kind of. And Will Howard and sorry to do this.
Danny Heifetz
I was, I was instructed to do this by our fans. Not this isn't my choice, but did you realize that the draft Pick that you guys received in exchange for superstar receiver. One of the best receivers in the NFL. Really? George Pickens turned into Drew Aller.
Craig Rolbeck
Well, check back in in five years.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah.
Craig Rolbeck
When he's won three rings.
Danny Heifetz
Sure.
Craig Rolbeck
Fair enough.
Danny Kelly
Do the XFL championship. The UFL championship. You know what he's going to do for the.
Danny Heifetz
The Birmingham Stallions.
Danny Kelly
The Birmingham Stallions are going to have an incred with Drew aller.
Craig Rolbeck
Once Mike McCarthy gets his paws on Drew Aller, sky's the limit.
Danny Heifetz
That pause works so well for McCarthy for some reason. Look, making my paws on you.
Craig Rolbeck
Drew Aller can do things that no other quarterback in this draft can do. Complimentary and derogatory, sure. But Mike McCarthy is somebody who I think can fix him.
Danny Kelly
I want to say twice Hostage.
Danny Heifetz
You remember that show? I forget what it was called. It was basically, this guy could detect people lying, like, really instinctively and easily.
Danny Kelly
Oh, lie to me. Yeah. With Mr. The guy who gets the bleeding guy in Reservoir Dogs. What's his name? Tim Ross. Yes.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah, yeah, exactly. He basically is like this genius who can tell when people are lying. Craig, I could tell you were lying right there.
Danny Kelly
I. I wish we could clip that 10 second sentence Craig just said. He's like, all right, Drew Aller is going to be a great quarterback and Mike McCarthy will fix him and play someone.
Danny Heifetz
Six months ago, Craig starts talking in the most passive voice.
Danny Kelly
He.
Danny Heifetz
He is someone who I believe could help Drew Aller succeed.
Craig Rolbeck
Here's what I'll say.
Danny Kelly
There's a gun to Craig's head just out of frame.
Craig Rolbeck
Here's what I'll say before we move on. I think Drew Aller has the highest ceiling and floor. Sorry, the highest ceiling and the lowest floor of any quarterback taking this draft. And for that, he's telling the truth.
Danny Heifetz
He's telling the truth.
Craig Rolbeck
And for that probably accurate, I'm interested.
Danny Heifetz
All right.
Danny Kelly
I. Yeah. If. If Drew Aller learns to read progressions and throw accurate throws, than I actually. No, I actually do agree. Like, he. His pocket management's bizarre. If he learned. If he sat on the bench for two years. Drew Aller in the. If he came out of the. I mean, Justin Herbert, no one knew he could progress as quickly as he could when he came in the NFL.
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah. Aller is like a baby deer back there and his feet are all over the place. However, his arm talent is ridiculous and based. Look, I. I'm not going to lie and pretend I watched every Penn State game for the last two years, but from what I've been reading since they've we've have to drawers that like, he's actually not that bad at like, once the ball is snapped. His. His ability to progress and go through three or four wide receivers is not terrible. His footwork is just a mess, but his arm and his ability to. To move through progressions is not bad.
Danny Kelly
Yeah.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah. The main. That's the main thing I noticed with him is basically if things are on time and if he plays in rhythm, he's like really exciting. But the problem is when he starts to move around or gets forced off a spot, his footwork mess, it gets all messed up and then he can't. Nobody taught him he can't complete a pass. But that's something that is coachable.
Craig Rolbeck
Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy not the worst two people.
Danny Heifetz
Aaron Ro Rogers is going to be so attentive to him during practices.
Craig Rolbeck
Yes. You know what?
Danny Heifetz
Coaching him up.
Craig Rolbeck
He liked Will. Aaron Rodgers was effusive towards Will Howard, apparently.
Danny Heifetz
According to Will Howard, apparently. Apparently.
Craig Rolbeck
Who had nothing to lose by saying that. Or nothing.
Danny Kelly
Speaking of rookie quarterbacks taken. I. I don't know how we're still talking about this same pick, but the Rams. The latest update in the Ty Simpson thing where the Rams took Ty simpson with the 13th pick, and then again, if you missed it, Sean McVay, basically, now the story is that. So Matthew Stafford was so angry at Sean McVay for taking Ty Simpson that Sean McVay decided to act like he wasn't that excited about Ty Simpson, which shockingly, everybody noticed, and then was like, wow, Sean McVay hates Ty Simpson. Which they then had to snip, snap, like, actually, I love Ty Simpson. I'm so excited for ty Simpson. Sean McVay kept saying on the fifth round of the draft live, which was also weird. So now the other. One of the other reasons we were so confused by the Ty Simpson story was in addition to Sean McVeigh acting like he was not into Ty Simpson, Ty Simpson was like, I've never met Sean McVay, which was so weird. He was like, we had a call. And then people were like, well, it's normal. The Rams never meet the prospects. They're like, okay, so apparently Ty Simpson is like, I lied because the Rams told me to lie. I have met Sean McVay.
Danny Heifetz
Did you guys see, like, a cheating couple? Sean McVeigh is cheating on Matt Stafford with Ty Simpson. He's sneaking around. They need to get their story straight. They needed to come up with a better plan for this. I feel like they've really botched it. The whole thing is like this massive, massive story. It basically got away from them. It's like the Streisand effect. They tried so hard to make it into nothing that it turned into something way bigger.
Craig Rolbeck
Also, like them concocting this very complicated cover up to hide the fact that the Rams are interested in Ty Simpson. Because I guess if Sean McVay. If people find out Sean McVay likes a quarterback, everybody will immediately pounce. Is that right? Like, would Ty Simpson have gone like 8th if people knew that he met with the Rams?
Danny Kelly
It's. It's kind of. It's just the whole world is deep. It's important to remember that. And then Daniel Jeremiah goes. It was talking to Greg Rosenthal and Daniel Jeremiah is like, I don't think the Cardinals would have taken Ty Simpson in the second.
Danny Heifetz
All the reporting now, all the reporting now is like, because, because this is the opposite of what usually happens. It's like, take, take Dijon stribling from the 49ers, for instance. Like, we all talked. We all bemoan wide receiver. Sorry, the receiver that the 40 just
Danny Kelly
refuses to give positions to colleges. He just assumes. Everybody listening is Craig Much tape.
Danny Heifetz
I just, I don't need to.
Craig Rolbeck
Craig got me like Veep. I'm his Tony Hill.
Danny Kelly
You're Tony Hill.
Danny Heifetz
Anyway, basically we all freaked out because he got taken at 33. And then all the reporting is now it's like, oh, well, this team liked him. This team liked him. He's probably going to go off the board. You guys don't know shit. You don't know where he was going to go. Even though the consensus board or whatever, the no one really expected him go nearly that high. It's the opposite with Ty Simpsons. Like now they took ty Simpson at 13. And all the reporting is like, I don't know if any teams liked him. There was some. I think there was some speculation that maybe the Cardinals didn't even have him at the top of their board. Like Carson Beck was their top guy.
Danny Kelly
I think people want to throw McVan under the bus. I think they're happy to do it. I. I will say though, I think like other teams that are jealous, I will say, I just want to say so.
Danny Heifetz
Third.
Danny Kelly
So what Ty Simpson said after the Rams took him initially was basically that he had only met with some Ram scouts. He had never met Sean McVeigh. Like, he had talked to him on the phone briefly. But the Ram scouts, very brief.
Danny Heifetz
I don't trust any of this thing anymore. You know, what goes all the way to the top.
Danny Kelly
These guys get so mad when you don't take them at their word. And then you're like, oh, yeah, right. People are lying constantly. And then you get mad at us. But it's like so Ty Simpson said. Now his update is quote quoting Ty Simpson. We try to keep this under wraps as long as we could. It was something to where I knew they were interested, but I knew they wanted to make it private. Didn't want people to know they were interested. So I had some secret meetings with Coach McVeigh and I was trying to be on script and do what everybody told me and not anybody.
Craig Rolbeck
Fucking Joe Montana, like, what are we doing here? He better be incredible.
Danny Kelly
I. It is so funny to think that
Danny Heifetz
Stafford's got to be more pissed now than ever.
Craig Rolbeck
I know.
Danny Heifetz
Like, what the fuck? You guys are meeting at an hourly
Craig Rolbeck
hotel, tiptoeing around the house on the phone.
Danny Heifetz
They're using burners and shit.
Craig Rolbeck
It's like no one can know we're taking a 13.
Danny Heifetz
Sean, why'd you turn off your locate me? Huh? Where were you all after the funniest part about golfing? Oh, I talked to your best friend. Guess what he said you weren't with him. I don't know what the going on.
Danny Kelly
What's funny.
Craig Rolbeck
He's like, he's like, Sean keeps saying that the best golf courses are in Alabama. I guess.
Danny Kelly
Dude Stafford and his wife went to Georgia. They're probably very aware of how bad Ty Simpson was. Like, all these guys follow college football too. And it's like Ty Simpson couldn't beat out Jaylen Milro. He played seven good games and he's going to functionally play 15 starts over like a seven year period probably unless he plays. It's so funny.
Craig Rolbeck
Like, if this were Washington two years ago with Jayn Daniels or New England with Drake May two years ago, I would get it where you're like, man, these are really hot commodities. We have a very high leverage pick. People could come in ahead of us. I get it. But like ty Simpson at 13, going through this rigmarole is. Is just very puzzling to me. And I guess we have to trust McVay and less need that they know what they know and that this guy's got the goods. But the whole thing is ridiculous.
Danny Kelly
I think they looked at it this simply. The Falcons pick was a robbery. The Rams getting a Falcons, the 13th overall pick in the draft. It was. I think they looked at it like, it's free. Let's get a quarterback.
Craig Rolbeck
It's not though.
Danny Kelly
I I'm not saying that's the right analysis. I think the Rams looked at it like we kind of stole this pick. Let's just make a court. Let's just get a quarterback and set up the next 10 years, and then we have to worry about this. We don't have to freak out every time Matt Stafford wins his back, whether the season's over.
Craig Rolbeck
But it only works if they really, truly believe this guy is solid but great and has the potential to be great.
Danny Kelly
So that's the question, because I do think the part of this that's getting washed away by all the absolute weirdness with which the Rams handled this is getting a quarterback is smart, man. Like, getting a quarterback when you're not desperate for a quarterback is a good idea. And again, the packers are probably happy they took Jordan Love again. I went on Cigar.
Danny Heifetz
The Rams got caught at a Coldplay concert. That's what happened here.
Craig Rolbeck
What are we.
Danny Heifetz
What are we talking about?
Craig Rolbeck
They.
Danny Heifetz
They. They realized that the jig was up, and then they freaked out. If. If they just would have acted Norma, this wouldn't be as big of a story.
Danny Kelly
You should have hired a crisis PR firm, like someone did recently. That worked out great.
Craig Rolbeck
Schrager made an interesting point on ESPN where he was like, if the Rams had just traded the 13th pick for Trent McDuffie and then selected Ty Simpson with the 29th pick, no one would probably say anything about this.
Danny Kelly
No one would give a shit. It's kind of like we were all like, the Lions took Jameer Gibbs in the first round, but then they took Brian Branch in the second, and it's like, well, if they dated Brian Branch of Gibbs, nobody said a word I said. So I honestly, the way I. I compared this to on Jackson Bevins's show Cigar Thoughts, which is a great show. And I compared it. Sometimes Jay Bone, you can line up, you have a good process for a shot, and then you screw up the swing. And I think that, like, it's good process to take a quarterback. I think the swing itself, like, the guy, the quarterback, kind of a weird one. Sometimes you skull it and it actually just lands on the green and it's fine. And I think the truth is he's probably going to be the quarterback for the Rams for a decade. Like, they probably made their bet and they're going to roll with it.
Danny Heifetz
Maybe. Maybe. Every time I go watch Ruben Bane line up and rush the passer this year, I'm going to be like, man, imagine if he was on the fucking Rams. Like, what could they be doing right
Craig Rolbeck
now if the Ran or Makai Lemon who like Puka's having a complicated off season and Devonte Adams is old and that's all they have. Makai Lemon probably would have helped in this super bowl run in la. And I got to say, I think if the Rams do not win the super bowl, this season will be looked at as a failure because of the Ty Simpson thing. And people are going to convince themselves that if, if they had Ruben Bane or if they had Makai Lemon or they had somebody else, they could have won the Super Bowl.
Danny Kelly
Yeah, I mean it's hard to disagree. I mean it really reminds me so much of the packers taking Jordan Love because it both worked out and also if they take it a cornerback that year, they might have won a Super bowl there in Rodgers. But also does Aaron Rodgers win two MVPs in a row if they don't take Love? So I don't know. We'll see.
Danny Heifetz
Sliding doors.
Danny Kelly
Okay.
Danny Heifetz
The difference there is that Aaron Rodgers was playing like shit for like the two years prior to that and then he got a fire lit under his ass and won two MVPs. Matt Stafford literally just won the MVP. Oh, I think he's the rating MVP.
Craig Rolbeck
That's what the Steelers are doing now. That's why they brought in Aller now. Now Rogers MVP loaded.
Danny Kelly
That's why he's too busy training to sign the contract. Dude, the tender, you know.
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah.

Somewhere out there is a Chevy truck and the person who drives it, well, that's a Chevy person. You probably know one, your buddy, your sister. Ones who always show up. They're the first to rise, the last to leave. They always have that little extra something and maybe you've got it too. Chevrolet together. Let's drive. Visit chevy.com trucks to explore the lineup.
Danny Kelly
So with that said, I want to do the draft draft. And again what it sounds Draft draft. It's what it sounds like. We're going to draft who had the best draft and dk Age before beauty. You're going to.
Danny Heifetz
I get to go first all right, I go second.
Danny Kelly
You're going to get the second pick. I'll get the third pick. And like the NFL, we're not doing the Snake draft style. We're doing.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah, that's too in order.
Danny Kelly
So dk, no pressure here, but you get to draft overall with the best draft. Who won the draft?
Danny Heifetz
I think the Browns did.
Craig Rolbeck
Wow.
Danny Heifetz
Kind of crazy. Kind of crazy. So let's just go through their draft class real quick here. The real quick.
Danny Kelly
12 people or whatever.
Danny Heifetz
I know. Well, sorry, I'll go. I'll try to go fast. Basically at the top they played it and. And let's take the name of the team away. Let's take the GM away. Let's take away the fact that he was making prospective head coaches take written oral exams. All that stuff. Written and oral. I guess they're written. Oral would be completely opposite. Anyway, they, they did a really smart thing here. They traded down. They got two extra picks to trade like three spots back with the Chiefs and then they still got the top tackle which was their top ranked guy clearly and probably their top ranked need position. Need. And they got Spencer Fano. I love that pick for them. I think he's going to come in, start for them right away, help to rebuild this offensive line. They got Casey Concepcion with the second of two first round picks and then they came back and got an incredible value with Denzel Boston in the second round. We all thought he was going to be a first rounder. Emmanuel McNeil Warren late in the second round. We all thought he was going to be a first rounder. If you just look at this draft class, I mean just those four guys in alone kind of like help you win. Also add in the fact that they traded I believe a fifth round pick for Titus Howard who's probably going to start for them on the offensive line this year and which ended up being
Danny Kelly
free because of the Spencer Fano trade. They basically ended up kind of getting Titus Howard for free.
Danny Heifetz
So they did, did like a little two for one there and then also just throwing this out there. Taylor Green, kind of an interesting pick way late in the sixth round.
Craig Rolbeck
He is quarterback at Arkansas.
Danny Heifetz
Thank you, Craig. I. I'm just never going to say names or I'm going to say, you don't need to.
Craig Rolbeck
I'm here for you.
Danny Kelly
I want Craig to whisper it though from now on. Quarterback Arkansas.
Danny Heifetz
That's actually pretty good fastest.
Craig Rolbeck
I should record them after we. We tape so. And then Cam actually puts it in just for the list.
Danny Heifetz
Just a little thought like a little Bubble over my head.
Danny Kelly
That's actually interestingly funny.
Danny Heifetz
Anyway, one of the most athletic quarterbacks we've ever seen and has some developmental upside there. So I don't know, just looking at this team's draft, love what they did.
Craig Rolbeck
The Browns did about as good a job as you could do for a team that's going to be starting DeSean Watson and Shador Sanders until Gabriel this year. Like, they took a lot, they needed a lot and they, they filled in a lot of premium holes. They got two tackles in the first pause rounds.
Danny Kelly
I was wondering if you were going to do it.
Craig Rolbeck
Everyone's like, I think that was DK's first pause.
Danny Heifetz
Premium hole. They filled with some premium holes right there.
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah. You know, high class holes.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah.
Craig Rolbeck
Anyway, I have to. I think I actually. I think I legally have to stop now. Somebody else can talk.
Danny Kelly
I. I think that the Cleveland is just a place where you're like hoping a quarterback can survive. And I think now Cleveland might be a place maybe that a quarterback can thrive. And they're still Cleveland, So good at marketing. God.
Craig Rolbeck
You don't think premium holes was the better pitch?
Danny Kelly
Premium holes, good pitch.
Danny Heifetz
They filled premium holes. That's going on the ticket.
Danny Kelly
All right, so there you. There. You're your winner. Okay, Craig, the first one off the board. Craig, then who's your. The second pick in the draft? Draft. Craig, who's your next best draft class?
Craig Rolbeck
I'm going to take the Giants because it was between them and the Raiders from Heifetz. I think you could. I think the Giants, the Raiders and the Browns are my top three teams. Obviously, Arvell Reese, who many people thought was the best player in the draft, falling to 5 is awesome. And now the Giants defensive line is like borderline. Has the potential to be legendary. Also getting a tackle to fill in, like, just shoring up both lines. And I'm factoring in that this team thinks they have their quarterback. This team thinks they have their long term coach. You have like a fantastic wide receiver. This team has a lot of the pieces that you want and to get the best player in the draft and more protection for your quarterback. I just feel like the vibes are really high. And I know everyone's saying that they're this year's Patriots, but it's hard not to come out of this draft thinking that the Giants did a very professional job.
Danny Kelly
Sick.
Danny Heifetz
He's like tight.
Craig Rolbeck
Like, they didn't even go sexy. They're like, nope. Like, we're not taking a wide receiver. Like, we're going to Take like an edge in a tackle.
Danny Heifetz
Heitz, do you think in your heart of hearts, do you think in your heart of hearts that if Arvel Reese had gone number, what was it? Number three to the Cardinals and Jeremiah Love was on the board at number five, do you think the Giants would have taken Jeremiah Love?
Danny Kelly
Yes.
Danny Heifetz
Talk about sliding doors moment here because I think I do. The fact that Arvl Reese fell is. Is monumentally important for the Giants. And look, the other part of this is Reese can play multiple positions. They're starting him out at linebacker. I think he can be a situational pass rusher. He's really good at that. So you're helping out two different spots. Maui Noah potential to help out multiple spots too. They might start him at guard. I think he has long term upside to the right tackle.
Danny Kelly
I think Mary know he's going to play right guard to start, which I don't mind because Will you took a guard. But the point is he can play tackle clean. So if Jermaine Eleanor gets hurt or Andrew Thomas gets hurt, who's. You know what I mean? Then maybe Elementor plays left tackle like, you know what I mean? Or Francis. Or worst case, everyone's healthy and Francis Marinella gets a couple years in the NFL and then it goes to play tackle. That's similar to what Carolina did where they took a left tackle and Monroe Freeling and they're like, well, they have guys good. Just because you have two tackles doesn't mean. This is what I was saying about doing on defense, which is what they ended up doing, which is I don't care if you have two tackles, three tackles is fine. You usually need a third tackle. Like having a transition plan is good. Also the Giants getting Colton Hood at quarterback at a Tennessee in the second round was amazing. He could have gone in the first round. Nobody would have blinked. If he had been like the 21st pick in the draft or if Dallas had taken Colton Hood, no one would have blinked. There's an awesome story. Shout out Tyler Brook who showed this to me where when Colton Hood was at Auburn, the receivers and defensive backs agreed to meet one on a non practice day to work out. None of the defensive backs showed up, just Colton Hood. He was the only cornerback. And then eight wide receivers from Auburn showed up and so they would line up in drills. Colton Hood took every rep. So it was receiver would go Colton Hood. Second receiver goes still Colton Hood. And they did this for like 40 minutes and they didn't take a five minute break because he was going to throw up and then he went back and he'd start doing it, and it's like he's a psycho. That's what I want. He's the second pick. And they traded up for Malachi Fields to start a receiver for Notre Dame. The Giants first four picks are probably going to start and, like, that's. You need that. So I'm thrilled with the Giants draft.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah. Really good job.
Danny Kelly
With that said, my next pick, I'm going to take the Raiders here. I'm not going to lie. I think the Raiders should have been the first pick. I think the Raiders won the draft because I like that the Browns. Browns supported a hypothetical quarterback. I like that the Giants got the best pick in the draft in Orville Reese and supported their real quarterback. But you could argue that the only pick that really will matter from this year's draft class in 20 years is. The Raiders got Fernando Mendoza. They got it.
Craig Rolbeck
That's also hypothetical, is it not?
Danny Kelly
Well, they got a. It's a real player. It just depends if he's good or not, right?
Danny Heifetz
He's a real boy.
Danny Kelly
They got a quarterback. They got a quarter. He's a real man. I'm a real boy.
Danny Heifetz
Wait, What? Is that Geppetto? No, Pinocchio and Geppetto. Yeah.
Danny Kelly
Is that from Shrek? Well, no, he.
Danny Heifetz
It is Pinocchio.
Danny Kelly
Yeah, but he reminded me of the gingerbread, not the gumdrop buttons.
Craig Rolbeck
He's married, too. Come on.
Danny Kelly
From me.
Danny Heifetz
I. I forget how important Shrek is to your guys's generation.
Danny Kelly
What are the big dividing lines? It's funny, SpongeBob.
Craig Rolbeck
I don't even have, like, I've seen Shrek a thousand times, but I don't have a lot of memories of sitting down and watching it. And yet every line from that movie is seared into my brain.
Danny Kelly
Dude, the most relatable part of I am legend is when Will Smith knows every line to Shrek.
Craig Rolbeck
I know. I know all the songs on the soundtrack. Like, I. I don't know. I just. It's like they downloaded that movie into my brain.
Danny Heifetz
I don't give a damn. Reputation.
Danny Kelly
The amount of times. It's just like I've. I've said this. When Shrek is like. You haven't. Where they haven't slayed the dragon. He's like. It's on my to do list. It's great.
Danny Heifetz
Anyway, good. Good flick. Yeah.
Danny Kelly
Good movie. Pause.
Craig Rolbeck
But I bet you Fernando Mendoza loves Shrek.
Danny Kelly
I. I bet he knows every word. Fernando, if you ever come on our show, we'll quiz you on Shrek. But the Raiders, they also just made a bunch of picks, which I like. I think Mike Washington Jr. Is a pretty good compliment to Ash and Genty. They got training stukes as an old safety, but the Raiders just, look, they got all these other players. Yeah, quarterback from Tennessee, who if he plays, we don't know what the hell's wrong with him. But like a top 10 guy. But overall, it's like they got the franchise quarterback. It's the only one in the draft. I'm like that. You win the draft like nothing. How often do we say during the season the quarterback's the only thing that matters?
Danny Heifetz
The only quibble with the draft that I've seen people make it, and I think there's some validity to it, is they didn't get a receiver. I really wanted him to take Elijah Surratt and pair him back up with Mendoza since they had such great chemistry. But overall they did get. They did get a six round receiver, Malik Benson, but overall they didn't use any high end draft capital to upgrade their receiver position. But maybe they still believe in Besh. Maybe there's something else coming, a trade or whatever. But that would be the only quibble I have with this class. I otherwise really liked it. I know the trade on Stoops is good. What are you gonna say the Raiders wide receivers are?
Craig Rolbeck
I mean, it's Jack Bash, it's Trey Tucker, and it's Jalen Naylor.
Danny Kelly
Brock Bowers.
Danny Heifetz
But Brock Bowers is the number one there, which is, I think, I mean, he's awesome.
Danny Kelly
So also, like, Stefan Diggs is still a free agent and like, I wouldn't be shocked if good call. Like Stefan Diggs could just sign with the Raiders. And you're like, oh, more. Yeah, you think we need one more?
Danny Heifetz
Okay, that's, that's great for my generation. Ocean's Eleven all time. All right, Am I back up?
Danny Kelly
Yeah, you're up. Number.
Danny Heifetz
Shoot.
Danny Kelly
I think those are. That's easy. The Browns, Giants, Raiders.
Danny Heifetz
Who?
Craig Rolbeck
Draft starts now.
Danny Heifetz
Draft starts now. Boy, oh boy. So it comes down to a couple different classes here. I'm going to go with. Go with the Cowboys. The Cowboys. And it was close to me with a couple of other ones, as I said. But I think just in terms of instant impact, guys starting day one and making this a very competitive team and hopefully remaking the defense, I think they did an awesome job. Caleb Downs in the first round. That's a safety from Ohio State. I did it.
Danny Kelly
Nice.
Craig Rolbeck
Very good.
Danny Heifetz
They trade up one spot to grab
Craig Rolbeck
him One guy you probably didn't need to do that for.
Danny Heifetz
They went in, they got Malachi Lawrence, defensive end, ucf. And he comes in, he's immediately going to provide explosive speed and juice off the edge. They needed some guys that are just going to kind of wreck havoc and force guys, like flush guys from the pocket, create sacks, things like that. And then Jayshawn Barham, the edge player, slash linebacker out of Michigan who just plays with his hair on fire. He helps bring, you know, like a, an intensity rate raising type of personality to the field. He just wants to hit everybody. He plays with just a ton of energy and intensity, like I said. So I really like those three.
Danny Kelly
Jayson Borum, edge rusher from Michigan who's actually going to play linebacker. That one. Yes, I, I do think that was. I'm actually upset about that pick because the Cowboys, they. I mean the Cowboys did everything they needed. Like, they needed, desperately needed an edge rusher, linebacker to safety. They got the best safety in the draft probably Barham is like this edge rusher that play. He also played linebacker for Michigan in like 2024. And like, it's kind of like our vote. Reese, we keep talking about this. It's the same way.
Danny Heifetz
He's like a mini Reese. Yeah.
Danny Kelly
In the same way that a running back can line up up in the slot. Useless, absolutely useless. But a receiver that can take some running back snaps like Debo Samuel or even JSN lining up at running back in the playoffs, very valuable. A defensive end you can cover. Okay.
Danny Heifetz
A linebacker, he'll drop back a couple times a game, sure.
Danny Kelly
Sick. But a linebacker who can credibly pass rush at times, that's actually valuable. And the fact that like Barham's going to be that for Dallas is really annoying. I also have to say official statement, since the Giants did take Francis Marineau at 10 instead of Caleb Downs, opening the door for Dallas to have Caleb Downs for 15 years. Was I concerned when the Giants receiver Malik Neighbors on a live stream with Bleach Report freaked out that Dallas was going to get Caleb Downs and was so angry that the Giants took Maui Noah and Malik Neighbors. Malik Neighbors was so upset they took Carville Reese instead of Caleb Downs? No, I was not concerned at all. He's wrong. There's nothing. Don't look into it.
Danny Heifetz
What was this? Basically like Caleb Downs has a position his.
Danny Kelly
All right. I think he thought that Marvel Reese was. It's two things he thought. Our neighbors thought our voice was going to be a pass rusher. He's like that's what Abdul Carter does. And they're like, no, we're going to play that Will linebacker. And I get Will. They have all these names. Will just means the weak side doesn't matter. But the larger point is Malik Davis was like, holy shit, he's going to cover me. That sucks. Like, I think he was just like, wait, I have to face. He's been talking about good Caleb Downs three months, and he's like, wait, I have to play him twice a year instead of him being on our team? That sucks ass.
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah. I also just think. I feel like players opinions of the draft is honestly closer to, like, a fans than it is an expert.
Danny Heifetz
100%.
Craig Rolbeck
Like, he's probably just like, fuck Caleb Downs, dude. He's so sick. Ohio State, he was awesome last year. Like, they might go that far.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah, it's.
Danny Kelly
It's so true. Where it's. It's so funny. Where it's so. I have heard NFL players give, like, very eloquent descriptions of, like, fans and, like, fantasy and be like, look, man, fantasy. Or like, all these fans. You don't know what's going on in our building and our locker room. And how could you deign to judge us? We put our bodies on the line and then in the next breath see a TV screen with, like, man, Durant Warriors. That shit doesn't work. They gotta break up. Like, they gotta trade Draymond like, the same. It's like we're all just fans.
Craig Rolbeck
Like, most of the time when there's a player interviewing, somebody's like, who's, like, the hardest guy you've ever had to defend or give me, like, kind of like the underrated best. And they're just like, man, Kevin Durant was a bucket man. And you're like, yep, okay, there was Craig.
Danny Heifetz
There was. This is, like. Goes a little bit the other way because it was a college player asking a college player about a pro team, but I can't remember who it was. It might have been R.V. reese, Kai Fitz. Do you remember this?
Danny Kelly
Oh, well, he couldn't name any Giants.
Danny Heifetz
They asked him who you're. Who you're looking forward to playing with. And he was like, I don't know.
Danny Kelly
He didn't name.
Craig Rolbeck
Anyway.
Danny Kelly
It took him, like, three minutes to get to Jackson Dart.
Craig Rolbeck
It's fine. He doesn't need to know. It's not his job to know.
Danny Kelly
Sal tried to make fun of me for that and was like, let me tell you, brother. What, I am so thrilled there's a giant that does not know about the last 10 years.
Danny Heifetz
It's better to come in totally ignorant to everything that's happened. The other thing I will add real quick before we end, like, wrap up the Cowboys part is that you could probably add like a quarter of Quinn and Williams to this because he was traded for a 2026 second. That pick turned into Derek Moore for the lions and a 2027 first. So he. The first is doing a lot more heavy lifting next year, obviously. But you get Quinn and Williams in the building partly because of this.
Danny Kelly
So, yeah, defensive tackle from Alabama that was on the jets and traded the Cowboys defense quietly. Defensive tackles are Quinn, Williams and Kenny Clark and the edge rushers and have Rashawn Gary and Malachi Lawrence, and they have Demario Overshone and this Barham kid from Michigan at linebacker and now Caleb Downs at defense. And it's like, it's Dallas. And the Bengals are just kind of racing to see which one can actually build a defense first around their pretty sick offense. And they're just like mirror images in each conference. And like, dude, Dallas, everyone's just being like, oh, the Eagles are falling down the Giants. I'm like, dude, Dallas could be good.
Danny Heifetz
They also have a new defensive coordinator, Christian Parker, who comes Eagles.
Danny Kelly
I am scared of Dallas.
Danny Heifetz
That'd be interesting.
Danny Kelly
So, Craig, you have the next pick here, so. All right, boys, we've made it through a grand total, four picks, so we can speed up.
Craig Rolbeck
I'm. I'm going to take the Bucks, and it's just because of Ruben Bane. And I really feel like pound for pound, he was maybe the best player in college football last year, and you just got him at the 15th pick, and him walking down that hallway, grabbing the hat, cocking his fist and being like, let's fucking go. This guy's going to be a Hall of Famer. He's going to be sick immediately. And I like that there's a couple other guys that. That you know, like Ted Hurst, Keante Scott, the corner out of Miami, they got. I do, like, a few other things that they did.
Danny Heifetz
Josiah Trotter.
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah, Josiah Trotter, the linebacker. But just Reuben Bane at 15, after everything that went on with him, he fell a little bit. And just like the motivation that he brought to the stage and them getting maybe the best player in college football last year at 15th, I just think is sick. And the Bucks always do a great job on defense, for better or for worse.
Danny Kelly
Dk, I feel like every single. The. The first four picks the Bucks made, they all just jump off the screen. When you watch Them?
Danny Heifetz
Yeah, yeah, they're all like identity guys, you know what I mean? Toughness, physicality, coming downhill and, and you know, hitting and playing a certain style and a certain energy. And I am excited to watch this Buccaneers defense. They needed some guys like this, I feel like, because they're, you know, what's his name, the linebacker from Nebraska?
Danny Kelly
Levante David.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah.
Craig Rolbeck
Old defensive, they were kind of getting,
Danny Heifetz
yeah, they're like at an inflection point where they're like, we need some new, some new blood in here and kind of get some new energy and, and have that. And I think this class could absolutely do that.
Danny Kelly
Most super bowl teams, even when you win, look completely different. Four years later. The Buccaneers held on to the core of the team that won the super bowl longer than any team I can remember. And like Levante David retired, Mike Evans is gone. And like, I think they plugged it. But I, I, I totally agree. The NFC south was slipping away from Tampa Bay and now after this draft, I actually think they can get back to the top and stay ahead of the Saints in Carolina. I'm not so worried about Atlanta. Next pick here. I think that's the right pick. Craig. I'm, I'm between two teams. I'm going to take, I'm going to take the jets because I think the sheer volume of it at any given pick you can quibble of like is Kenyon city get the 16th pick or whatever reach.
Craig Rolbeck
But if you, when you remove where they took them, if you just look at the draft, it's good.
Danny Kelly
I totally agree. It's like, it's funny too because you know, before the draft anyway, I said the jets vibes weren't good, but I said I'd be good after the, after the draft it's like, look, I would have taken Orville Reese over David Bailey, but when you look at the jets draft, they have David Bailey, edge rusher from Texas Tech, they have Kenyon Sadiq, the tight end from Oregon, they have Omar and I love the Indiana guys. Omar Cooper, receiver, and d' Angelo Pons the cornerback. Those two are tone setting guys. I think Omar Cooper is a tone set on offense. The way he runs with the ball. I think I love d' Angelo Ponds the way he plays football.
Craig Rolbeck
We'll ignore Kate club Nick. We'll just ignore that.
Danny Kelly
Yeah, the jets fans, that one's sad
Danny Heifetz
where they're like, we choose to ignore it.
Danny Kelly
Yeah, I, I, yeah, the cake drafted.
Craig Rolbeck
I feel like Kate Clubnik was, was in jeopardy of not getting drafted.
Danny Kelly
He, he, the Kate Club Nick Garrett Nussmeier year. Keep that in mind with the way too early mock drafts. Like at one point they were both considered maybe number one picks and now they ended up being fifth and seventh rounders. I don't think he kid club thinks anything but like a. You know just he'll. He'll make some random start December once it'll be trivia but I think the jets they just. It's like Cleveland.
Craig Rolbeck
I like calling someone trivia as an insult. That's good. It's just you're going to be trivia
Danny Heifetz
like name a quarterback Cade club.
Danny Kelly
He'll be really good. He'll be a really good answer and immaculate grid one day.
Craig Rolbeck
Name that one quarterback who started one game in 2026 and beat the Patriots.
Danny Kelly
My God. Yeah, I but I think this is a great one. I'm excited to see what happens with David Bailey and his weird aesthetic where he wears his jersey down to his quads but his pants are above his knees and doesn't wear gloves and we'll see. But I think the Jets, I mean they just took so many players high that it's a good class.
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah, I agree with that.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah, I don't disagree either. This next pick for me is coming down to two teams. I can't decide which one I like more. I'm ultimately just going to go with what I decided to do on Sunday and gave the Panthers a slightly higher grade. I'm going with the Panthers here who to me their draft is not sexy at all. It's kind of just like a meat and potatoes draft. But I feel like they landed really good players where they got them and I think this is going to be a class that makes them better in the long term. Monroe Freeling At 19 there were some people that thought he would go in the top 10 because of a run on offensive tackles. I feel like they just kind of sat there and let the draft come to them and there he was. I don't know if they, they thought that they could get him going into this class, but Monroe Freeling quietly fills a massive need for them. Iki Aquanu tore his patellar tendon in the playoffs. Like he might not even play this year. Not to mention he might not have a future with the team based I think his next year is a contract year. So they needed a left tackle quietly and I think he could fill that for the next 10 years. I think they came back and got Lee Hunter, defensive tackle, Texas Tech, who is a little bowling ball of a defender who plays a ton of energy has ton of power and I think has some untapped upside as a situational pass rusher. Kind of just like a collapse the pocket type of guy. And then in the third round, they got a receiver from Tennessee, Chris Brazil the second. He's, I think, a good complement to what they have already on the team. Tet McMillan and Jalen Coker. That makes like a really interesting trio of receivers for giving. And they're giving Bryce Young the best chance that they can to kind of like, like continue to emerge this year. Or maybe they can at least figure out if he's the future for them. Add in Sam Heck from Kansas State. He's a center. He might end up starting for them down the line. Ziki Wheatley, Zachy Wheatley. I don't know how to say his name. Wheelie Wheatley. He was a guy that was in my top 100. They just kept scooping up value. So I just like the draft overall. And if you look at that draft along with what they've done in free agency this off season, I just think they're going to be so much more of a badass team next year. They're the type of team who can on defense, like, hit you. They already have Derek Brown. They got Devin.
Danny Kelly
Which defense does not hit you?
Danny Heifetz
I mean, there's some soft defenses. It's all relative. Of course. Some defenses are soft. Some defenses, you're like, we have to play this team. And I think they're going to be more in the latter camp. Jalen Phillips, they signed in free agency. They got Devin Lloyd. I think he gives them some versatility. They already have J.C. horn, Derek Brown. Last year they drafted Nick Scouton and Princely Uman Mealan. These names, I'm screwing up, I'm sure. But yeah, I just think if you look at the overall, what they've done this off season and in particular this draft, I just think they're tougher and more physical.
Danny Kelly
Carolina was responsible. They. You can't go broke making a profit. Can't go get fired if you keep taking left tackles and defensive tackles. They just took the value on the board. I will say, ironically, I think this is a reach for the team that you thought just kind of let value fall to them. So, you know, I could have let them go, but, well, that was.
Danny Heifetz
This is how my grades went. So suck it. All right.
Danny Kelly
Well, all right. Put it on the to do list. Craig,
Danny Heifetz
I just remembered what you said on the last show.
Danny Kelly
I have no idea what you're talking about.
Craig Rolbeck
Talking about girls around my neck.
Danny Heifetz
Yes, that's what I'm talking about. Yeah. Out of control girls around my neck. Oh.
Danny Kelly
Not even going to give context. You have to go back and find that for yourself.
Danny Heifetz
You have to go. Listen.
Craig Rolbeck
Okay, I will take God. I might take Baltimore.
Danny Heifetz
Okay. Okay.
Craig Rolbeck
Who I feel like took very Ravensy players. I like when teams stick to their identity in the draft and do what they do well. They got Vega Yoani, the guard at Penn State, another guy who's like pound for pound at his position. Probably one of the best players in the draft. Shored up the offensive line. That took Zion Young, the edge rusher, second out of Missouri. Another, like big, physical edge rusher. Not to mention that, you know, getting Trey Hendrickson instead of Max Crosby. They kept that first round pick, which was Vega Ioanne. They also took two wide receivers in the middle of the draft, Jacoby Lane and Elijah Surratt, the guy DK mentioned earlier, the Indiana wide receiver who had great chemistry with Mendoza. So I don't know, I just think the Ravens, it's like it wasn't sexy, but every, like the top two players in this team are probably going to contribute immediately. And I like that they took a couple shots at wide receiver.
Danny Heifetz
The Ravens always have. They always have this draft where. And it helps, I think that they always have third and fourth rounders because they play the comp pick game so well. But yeah, they just address positions of need and they double up. They. They like to double up at positions. Craig, you mentioned, you mentioned with the two receivers they did that with tight end a couple times. They've done it with other positions along the line. It just seems like that that's kind of what they like to do. But yeah, I mean, Yane, classic Raven. Zion Young, classic Raven. And when I picture him playing, I'm like, oh, yeah, he fits the Ravens defense perfectly. The. I think the Surrat thing, Surat is interesting because they talked about him as a potential slot receiver. Like he can play over the middle of field almost. It almost makes me wonder if like they kind of try and emulate what they were doing a lot of times with like Isaiah likely with him.
Danny Kelly
Yeah.
Danny Heifetz
Where they use his side, his back, shoulder. He can, you know, just kind of. He has a good understanding of how to use his frame.
Danny Kelly
I completely agree because the truth is they drafted these two tight ends, but rookie tight ends that are not day one picks are rarely going to be like, you can't count on them to be immediate contributors.
Danny Heifetz
So you look, it's like three years from here we have a starter Maybe
Danny Kelly
exactly like Matthew Hibner, who went to SMU as a tight end, and then like Josh Cuevas from Bama, it's like, those guys, the Ravens aren't like, we could definitely count on those guys this year. I agree. Elijah Surratt's gonna replace Isaiah, likely for this season. But then, you know, it's funny because Jacoby Lane, the receiver from usc, they took the most incredible hands I've seen in a long time. But also, I don't know if he can press. I don't know if he, like, get off press coverage.
Danny Heifetz
I don't know.
Danny Kelly
Separate. But they're all interesting picks. But I agree, it's the Raven. It's so funny where it's like the Ravens, you're like, man, every year they draft their geniuses. What's their secret? And they're like, well, we needed tight end, so we took two.
Danny Heifetz
The other. The other one.
Craig Rolbeck
Double our odds.
Danny Kelly
Yeah, you took the other one.
Danny Heifetz
That's super interesting here, especially when you look at the. The roster. Adam Randall, we talked about him during our running backs group.
Danny Kelly
Running back at Clemson.
Danny Heifetz
He's 63, 200. And what is he? He's like £230 or something like that former receiver that trans. That switched over to running back. And which.
Danny Kelly
That's. Those two things are insane. 6, 3, 2, 20, was a receiver as a running back.
Craig Rolbeck
So he'll just be like Derek Henry, stunt double.
Danny Heifetz
Right. This is what I'm saying. And if you look at the rest of the roster right now, obviously this can change before the year. But they have Justice Hill, who's a shrimp. They have Rashid Ali, who is. He's decently sized, but he's not showing anything special. And then they have. That's it, basically on the roster.
Danny Kelly
So he's offensive to Rashid Ali. Great picker. Turner.
Danny Heifetz
There's a chance this man sees the field, and I'm very excited to see what could happen there because I really liked his tape, especially considering and taking into account he's new to the position. I think he has some development to do. But he's very athletic, very powerful runner for the fact that he was a receiver a couple years ago.
Danny Kelly
Did you see. You don't see every day a lengthy comment from a GM on the 5th round pick. Did you see how this pick got made?
Danny Heifetz
Oh, that's the other thing is, apparently the owner just stepped in, was like, I want that guy.
Danny Kelly
Steve Bishani was like, I've been scouting him. I love this guy. And Eric DeCoster, you guys are taking him. He Said, well, Steve, it's your team.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah.
Craig Rolbeck
That's like, when. Like. Like, you know, our parents contributed to our wedding, and it was like, at a certain point, they get to pick a couple people who come. Right.
Danny Heifetz
You know, you're picking my cousin. He's coming, and I don't want to hear anymore.
Craig Rolbeck
We're going to invite our friends Cindy and Drew. And I'm like, that's fine.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah. You've paid for a lot of stuff during my lifetime.
Craig Rolbeck
You could have a fifth round. No big deal.
Danny Heifetz
But. Yeah. And that also could mean he sees the field. Who knows? Maybe the owner is. Is telling the coaches, like, hey, this guy needs to be in the game.
Craig Rolbeck
I will say Adam Randall should step into our office at Name Brand. We. We fix your name.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah.
Craig Rolbeck
Even if you swap it. Randall Adams.
Danny Kelly
Randall Adams. Randall right out the gate.
Danny Heifetz
What if you just drop the. Drop the a. Damn Randall.
Danny Kelly
Whoa. For free. Oh.
Danny Heifetz
Lose the. The.
Danny Kelly
Someone send this to someone who knows. Damn Randall. And then he could just say he came up. Damn, Randall. Take a feet.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah.
Craig Rolbeck
Damn. Good.
Danny Heifetz
Now we're talking.
Craig Rolbeck
That's good. That's why you're an executive at name brand.
Danny Kelly
That's how you get to be a partner. That's.
Danny Heifetz
That's why you're an executive vice president. Damn.
Craig Rolbeck
That's why you're an executive at the company that we created for ourselves.
Danny Kelly
Okay, this next one here, this is. I don't know if you guys are even going to agree with this. I don't give a.
Danny Heifetz
All right. Geez.
Danny Kelly
I think the Chiefs draft was awesome.
Danny Heifetz
Oh, they were next on my list.
Danny Kelly
Kansas City's draft was so good. I don't know how it's going to go, but they swung for the fans defenses.
Danny Heifetz
Just kidding. You're an idiot.
Danny Kelly
Yeah. Stupid. Kansas City's draft, they literally were like, we're just going to replace our two biggest pieces on defense immediately. They went to get man Delane Corner
Craig Rolbeck
back out of LSU and Kansas City,
Danny Kelly
and they trade up to a couple fifths, and it was like, great job, Cleveland. Kansas City's like, I don't give a shit. But I honestly, I think Kansas City's like, we got the best cornerback in the draft and like, the rarest of all cornerbacks, which is he can just be man to man outside. We can. Like, that's the guy who hopefully can cover Jamar Chase one on one. If Kansas City meets Cincinnati in the playoffs again. And then they go and they're like, Trent McDuffie at Nickel. We got. We got a new nickel Quarterback on the fourth round like a normal team. And then they come back up in the first round.
Danny Heifetz
They get Peter woods, defensive tackle, Clemson.
Danny Kelly
Peter woods is the Chris Jones replacement. Like, Chris. That's the idea. And like, yes, he had a down year again. If Peter woods had come out of the draft a year ago, he might have been a top 15 pick out of just projecting. And it's like, well, he had it down year. Well, everyone in Clemson had a down year. Clemson's defense sucked. Clemson sucked. And the defense got out of the Brett Dennables family for the first time in forever.
Danny Heifetz
And so, like, they're going to need to do a study on this Clemson team. What. What the hell was happening, everybody?
Danny Kelly
When every single player on both sides of the ball at Clemson disappoints, it's not the players. Like, that's just. You know what I mean? When everyone is just surprisingly bad. And so Peter woods falling to Kansas City, I'm like, oh, my God, what if they're right about that? That's crazy. Like, Seahawks got Byron Murphy last year. Where would Byron Murphy go in a redraft for the Seattle. You know what I mean? You never would have gotten him two years ago. And that's how I look at Peter was. And then they still get a pass rusher. They still. The fact that Kansas City was still able to get R. Mason Thomas at Oklahoma defensive end, edge rush or whatever.
Danny Heifetz
It's like the name guy. We'll. We'll be talking to you. R. Mason, name brand.
Craig Rolbeck
I don't. I don't mind our. He sounds like an author, which is kind of interesting. Yeah, I don't mind our Mason.
Danny Kelly
Should we call what. What's a good nickname? I guess R. Mason doesn't need a nickname, but like, yeah, the office is bad.
Danny Heifetz
You know, Mace.
Craig Rolbeck
Now he's.
Danny Heifetz
Now we're weaponizing it.
Craig Rolbeck
He is our bone.
Danny Heifetz
Oh, yeah.
Danny Kelly
Our bone. He's also our bone.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah.
Danny Kelly
Wow.
Danny Heifetz
I also like the Emmett Johnson pick. I think he makes sense as a backup slash complimentary piece to Kenneth Walker,
Danny Kelly
running back out of Nebraska.
Danny Heifetz
And then they got Garrett Nussmeyer, quarterback from LSU in the seventh round. I thought he was gonna be a second or third runner. Sounds like there was some health things that. That helped him fall. Not helped him fall. Spine cyst caused him to fall.
Danny Kelly
What's the big deal with the spine cyst?
Danny Heifetz
When you talk about a spine, usually that's kind of like a red flag for teams, I think.
Danny Kelly
Well, Francis Marinoa was the 10th pick to the Giants in the entire Draft and he's a herniated disc, but that doesn't matter.
Craig Rolbeck
Put it this way, I would probably miss a couple pods if I had a spine cyst and I just sit in a chair.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah. Yeah.
Danny Kelly
I don't feel like I really even know what a cyst actually is.
Danny Heifetz
It's just like a growth.
Craig Rolbeck
Just a thing, a collection of cells.
Danny Kelly
A bad dot.
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah. Lump. You don't want lumps.
Danny Kelly
No.
Craig Rolbeck
No lumps.
Danny Kelly
No lumps. No mumps.
Danny Heifetz
Anyway, I. I for the most part, agree with this pick. Right. Right where I had them. Let's see. Let's see. I'm gonna go with the Eagles. Did you already say the Eagles?
Craig Rolbeck
No. Interesting.
Danny Heifetz
Philadelphia strikes again. I feel like every year they have very solid draft classes. Especially if you look at it relative to kind of like the. Where people value these players before the draft starts. Makai Lemon trading up. As Hyphen said, completely embarrassing for the Steelers. Like, horrifyingly embarrassing. Steelers moment there. Totally freaking cucked them on national TV in their own house. Tough look. Tough look. And then Eli Stowers, the Vanderbilt tight end, extremely interesting prospect. Tons of athleticism, tons of speed, really good pass catcher. Maybe those two guys can help the Eagles offense finally start to thrive in the middle of the field. God knows they need to. I feel like that is the one thing that's kind of missing from this offense is they need more juice out of the middle of the field. These guys both. That's where they both operate. I think that's important. Markel Bell, huge human being. I think the Eagles are one of those teams where it's like, Howie Roseman played video games. He's like, guess what? Like, these guys are huge and they move really well. Let's take them. Guess what happens.
Craig Rolbeck
These guys are huge.
Danny Heifetz
We're fucking bigger than you.
Danny Kelly
We're.
Danny Heifetz
We're gonna. Getting off the. Getting off the bus. We're fucking intimidate you.
Craig Rolbeck
Wait, Markel Bell is six foot nine. Hold up.
Danny Heifetz
Six, nine and a quarter.
Danny Kelly
Do you think everyone.
Danny Heifetz
He's almost six, ten.
Danny Kelly
Craig, everyone thinks Howie Roseman's advantage is analytics, but he actually just remembers being bullied. And he's like, you need people that are massive.
Danny Heifetz
This guy, this man, six, nine, 346 pounds with 36 and a half inch arms.
Craig Rolbeck
I mean, that's like double Howie Roseman. Howie Roseman's not a tall guy.
Danny Kelly
How rose. They have a measuring stick. They just have. How he compare? They're like, holy shit. I will say so. The Eagles, they're definitely planning for the post. AJ Brown world Adam Schefter said that it might be a 2028 first round pick for New England because apparently no one wants to give up 2027 picks
Danny Heifetz
in this in the seventh round. I this guy whose name I'm probably not getting right but ur you are Bernard who is from Nigeria. He has not played football to speak of but he is one of the best athletes I've ever heard of. He, he is six'4, 306 pounds. 306 pounds. Keep that in mind while I tell you these rest of these numbers. 4 6, 3 4. 39 inch vertical 10 foot 10 broad jump, 31, 31 bench press. He is just a absolute rare, extraordinary
Craig Rolbeck
31 bench press is. We can't let that just fly by.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah, I mean this guy is, is, is rare athlete and I think that you know of any team in the NFL that I trust to kind of like figure out something to do with this guy, they've listed him as defensive tackle.
Craig Rolbeck
It is kind of badass that there's nothing next to his name. It just says Nigeria.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah.
Craig Rolbeck
Like no college. Yeah, we've got him.
Danny Kelly
Just this is just Jordan my Lotta again.
Danny Heifetz
Right. That Jordan my Lotta was the diamond in the rough that they found through the international Pathways program. This is the exact same deal Internet International Pathways program I believe it's called which and by the way you get an extra spot on the practice squad with for these guys. So it doesn't even really take up a roster spot if he does make it to the practice squad.
Danny Kelly
I know I keep shouting out Jeff Stoutland from leaving the Eagles is a big deal and some people got annoyed with me. But he went on new heights with the Kelsey brothers and because Jason Kelsey obviously was developed by Justin Stalin and I knew Jordan my Lotta didn't play football before he went. And Jordan my Lotus get top six left tackle. They said that Jordan Mylota didn't know what a quarterback was when they took him. He didn't know anything.
Danny Heifetz
Who, who am I for left that guy?
Craig Rolbeck
Just don't let anybody hit that guy.
Danny Kelly
Literally. Like it's like Happy Gilmore learning to golf. He's like what do I have to do? Like Jordan didn't know what quarter.
Danny Heifetz
That was so much easier. I should just do that every time.
Danny Kelly
And so the Eagles, this is a heat check. And they're like well we did it with the guy on offense, let's just do it on defense. Like go, go hit him.
Craig Rolbeck
Also we should mention that the Eagles drafted the quarterback out of North Dakota State, Cole Payton, who's like, of course they did.
Danny Heifetz
Of course.
Craig Rolbeck
You just know his ass is going to be crucial.
Danny Heifetz
He's probably going to score like 10. He's probably going to score 10 touchdowns.
Danny Kelly
I swear to God, if they, if the Eagles had any balls, they would have Jalen Hurts run a read option with Cole Payton. Hertz is a righty. Cole Payton's a lefty. And then two quarterback offense where both guys can legitimately run. I swear to God that will work in situational football. I. It. I don't understand. The only issue is they have limited time to practice and no one actually wants to deal with it or be responsible if it leads to a pick six. But if people weren't scared of the consequences, no way, it wouldn't work. Yeah, love that.
Danny Heifetz
So basically, I like all those things. No, I love this. I think it's awesome. They're the one team again. They're one of the very few teams that I trust to actually utilize Cole Payton in a way that makes sense. The other thing to add real quick here, and this is, you know, not part of their draft class officially, but you could count it is Dontavian Wicks, 5th rounder from this year. That's. They acquired him for that. And then Jonathan Garnard, who could have 10 sacks for them next year for a pair of thirds, a third this year. So I guess they're doing half this year and then a third next year.
Craig Rolbeck
NFC east can be good overall.
Danny Heifetz
I just thought the eagles killed it.
Craig Rolbeck
2.
Danny Heifetz
Two very good players at the top that I very, I, I really liked coming into the, coming into the draft. They added Dante Van Wicks, they added Jonathan Garnard. They added a few really high upside developmental guys. Yeah. Overall, great, great draft for them.
Craig Rolbeck
What am I up. I'm taking. I'm taking the Steelers.
Danny Heifetz
Now we're talking who.
Craig Rolbeck
I think despite the, you know, unbelievable embarrassment of losing Makai Lemon on live national television, even though they'll never be able to live that down, I think they recovered.
Danny Heifetz
Shameful.
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah.
Danny Heifetz
Shameful.
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah. Omar Khan should be fired for what took place.
Danny Kelly
But we do have Steelers fans emailing in that were like, though, hate to say it, Hyphens is right. He was. It was embarrassing.
Craig Rolbeck
I think if you didn't know about. If you weren't watching the draft like a normal person and you were just like having a lovely day.
Danny Heifetz
I carried on living my life.
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah. I think if you look at what the Steelers did, they did a great job, I think, getting Max Ianachor how do you say it?
Danny Heifetz
Yes.
Craig Rolbeck
Ayanna Chor, the tackle at Arizona State who's like a little bit of a project but a guy that a lot of people have a high ceiling for in terms of like there is awesome tape on what he was able to do against Malachi Lawrence and against David Bailey in college. Like he is probably capable of playing right tackle immediately for the Steelers. Getting Jeremy Bernard who's like another home run pick the wide receiver out of Bam in the second is like a perfect compliment to fill in in the slot next to Michael Pittman and D.K. metcalf. The Drew Aller thing, whatever. It's like a high upside pie in the sky pick and then getting a guy like Jennings dunker the tackle out of Iowa who's my new favorite player in the NFL who is now probably going to slot in at guard. And now the Steelers have like six offensive linemen under 25 years old that are all solid. Factor in it. I like a couple of late round shots they took too but like they really needed the O line and they really needed wide receiver and I thought they accomplished both those goals nicely.
Danny Heifetz
The Kaden Wet Jen sure really good kick returner.
Danny Kelly
He's speaker one that he was getting drafted on the golf course.
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah. He was like no way I'm going today.
Danny Kelly
The Steelers, that's always a good vibes.
Danny Heifetz
They're like we got to call someone.
Craig Rolbeck
I was also on the golf course when we selected Kaden Wetgen.
Danny Heifetz
This is the Steelers being like God, we can't get embarrassed again. Let's call a guy who's not going to get drafted.
Danny Kelly
The combination of that and then Eli Heinrich which they marched in front of everybody. The the guy shout out Mount Lebanon and they just took the local Pittsburgh kit.
Craig Rolbeck
Navy McCaffrey.
Danny Kelly
Navy McCaffrey and who had. Who caught almost half of all of Navy's targets this year went to this kid Navy Gainwell.
Danny Heifetz
I think he's just the Kenneth Gainwell replacement.
Danny Kelly
Upside is Navy McCaffrey dirty. To me honestly, he is kind of like a gain. Well I I actually think he's gonna play. I think he'll actually have a long career for seventh round pick. I think he's pretty good. I agree though Craig, to your point, I mean if you count Darno Washington as an offensive lineman kind of. I you have eight linemen that are 25 or younger which is everything you. I would say your. Your best eight blockers are 25 or younger which is kind of everything you want honestly. So I think you know if Only one of your quarterbacks would just, you know, inform the professional football team if they want to play professional football this year. You'd be in a really good spot.
Craig Rolbeck
Well, we made him an offer he can't refuse. A 10% raise to. To a guy who has $150 million.
Danny Kelly
Dude, I will say one of the people emailed in were like, do you think that. That the Cowboys were trying to call the Steelers about a trade, but they didn't pick up because they were on the phone with Makai Lemon. The line's busy.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah, they don't have call waiting.
Craig Rolbeck
It's busy.
Danny Heifetz
What year is it?
Danny Kelly
Oh, my God.
Danny Heifetz
Did you guys ever experience the busy signal in your life? Was that a thing that you had?
Craig Rolbeck
Of course.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah.
Craig Rolbeck
I'm not 10 years old.
Danny Heifetz
Just checking.
Craig Rolbeck
I was born in the 90s. DK.
Danny Kelly
Yeah.
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah.
Danny Heifetz
Okay, fine.
Danny Kelly
Come on. We got one foot in, one foot out the millennium, bro. Come on.
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah, yeah.
Danny Heifetz
Fair, Fair.
Danny Kelly
The next pick here.
Danny Heifetz
Wow.
Craig Rolbeck
And then we'll recap the draft. This is everyone's fourth. This is your fourth pick.
Danny Kelly
I'm stuck between two completely different drafts, but I'm going to take the Miami Dolphins, which is funny kind of because they. They had 13 picks. I hated a third of them. I thought the Dolphins have the worst pick in the entire draft, which is Caleb Douglas, a third round receiver that genuinely might have gone undrafted by other team.
Danny Heifetz
Like, no one else. No one else has even heard of this guy.
Danny Kelly
No. Multiple other teams may not have taken Caleb Douglas in any of the seven rounds. And yet the Dolphins are doing a hard rebuild the hard way. They are cutting to it. They're getting rid of Tyree Kill. They got rid of Bradley Chubb. They traded Jalen Waddle, and you know what? 13 picks, it is very hard to go, oh, and 13, like, unless you're the New York Mets. It's very hard. Grew up like 13 picks in a row. And I, I just, I. The other eight picks they made, I really like. And we could go through them, but I just. Making 13 picks, you're bound to hit four or five. And I just, I. I think Miami will like. I like a lot of their spots.
Craig Rolbeck
So you're just kind of volume shooting here. Yeah, yeah.
Danny Kelly
No one knows shit, man. It's like, that's the humility of the draft. It's. The smart teams aren't like, I know what I'm doing. The smart team's like, fucked if I know. Let's take 14 people and then that's usually works. Bill Belichick won six Super Bowls. Being like, I don't know, let's just take a lot of people and then meet them when they get here. And so I specifically, I think the ones that I like are. I think Chris Johnson. Go Aztecs cornerback. Out of where?
Danny Heifetz
Craig. State.
Craig Rolbeck
State.
Danny Kelly
State. I think it's a great pick. I think Jacob Rodriguez, the linebacker from Texas Tech is just going to be like an absolute fan favorite immediately. Like, I. I think Will. I can't pronounce his name. Will. Cat Cashmerek, the tight end at Ohio State, blocking tight end. As boring as it gets. He's going to be the NFL for like 12 years. It like that. Chris Bell, the receiver from Louisville. He's like ACLJ Brown. I. I don't know. I was trying to make that all morning.
Danny Heifetz
I couldn't figure out that A.J.
Danny Kelly
brown with the A.C.L.
Danny Heifetz
brown.
Danny Kelly
There's no good answer. I couldn't figure it out.
Danny Heifetz
That was like me saying at Aliens.
Danny Kelly
Yes, that was bad.
Danny Heifetz
I tried. All right.
Danny Kelly
The flip. Yeah. The flip side is I also just think the idea that they took a left tackle as their first pick of the stream.
Craig Rolbeck
Didn't you say Atlans?
Danny Heifetz
Yeah, I it up.
Craig Rolbeck
You say Aliens. You said Atlas.
Danny Heifetz
Right, Right.
Danny Kelly
That was a high fitness mistake from you.
Craig Rolbeck
It's all right.
Danny Kelly
But anyway, I don't.
Craig Rolbeck
We all, we all swing and miss sometimes.
Danny Heifetz
When I, when I. When I said it, I knew immediately. I was like, I can see that
Craig Rolbeck
you tried to grab the words as they fell out of your mouth. No, no, no. Come back.
Danny Kelly
That was me. Midterion Lanish to quote. I'm like, yeah, no, no. Okay.
Craig Rolbeck
You're like. I am recounting this quote at a very fast pace. I am bound to screw this up.
Danny Kelly
You know why? It's because it's shotgun to raise Red Bull.
Danny Heifetz
I know you. Yeah, you really.
Craig Rolbeck
What was your total Red Bull count over the trip?
Danny Kelly
I'd prefer not to think about it.
Danny Heifetz
Spotify the Spotify facilities. People like where the are all the Red Bull? Why do we have to order a whole special case of Red Bull?
Danny Kelly
Who went through all this if Red
Craig Rolbeck
Bull wants to sponsor us? I mean, it'd be a wonderful fit. High. Fitz, a huge fan of your product.
Danny Heifetz
High fits only.
Danny Kelly
Actually that'd be funny to read an ad like, yeah.
Craig Rolbeck
Just.

Save at Whole Foods Market. All right, Craig, you half halfway through the draft. Draft. Do we recount the pick so far?
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah, sure. Yeah. We're 16 in. We're gonna have to pick up the pace. DK's team. DK has the Raiders, the Cowboys, the Panthers, and the Eagles.
Danny Kelly
Who's 16 in? We're definitely 12 in.
Craig Rolbeck
Oh, sorry. You have the Browns, the Cowboys, the Panthers, and the Eagles.
Danny Kelly
We're not halfway. We're a third of the way.
Danny Heifetz
We'll really spe it up. All right.
Craig Rolbeck
Oh, my God.
Danny Heifetz
We're gonna go fast.
Craig Rolbeck
12 teams. I have the Giants, the Bucks, the Ravens, and the Steelers. And Heifetz has the Raiders, the Jets, the Chiefs, and the Dolphins.
Danny Kelly
All right, we got to pick this up, dk.
Danny Heifetz
All right, here we go. Let's see here. I gotta pick the team first here. I'm just going to go with. And this is especially relative to the fact that they did not have a first round pick. I'm gonna go with the Colts. I liked what the Colts did in their draft. If you count Sauce Gardner. That helps a lot, certainly. But I'm not going to do that here. I just liked what they did from basically the second round on. C.J. allen, Georgia. Just a tone setting type of linebacker. A.J. halsey, one of my favorite safeties in this class. Same kind of deal as Alan, just will come downhill, play big hits. He's kind of a mini cam Chancellor type of guy which wants to intimidate you over the middle of the field. Things like that. Jalen Farmer, I think he could end up starting for them at guard. And then Dion Burks getting him in the seventh I thought was a really good value Speedster. Ran like a 4, 3, 1. And he could come in and eventually work his way into being a third receiver there. So I don't know this. And then, you know, just top to bottom. It was a very solid draft class considering all the. Considering especially the fact they didn't have a first rounder.
Danny Kelly
I still think that Indianapolis is dogged pursuit of trading multiple first rounders and going all in just to capture the magic of starting one season. 8 and 2 one time is pathetic and will look very poor in hindsight.
Danny Heifetz
Having or ballsy or ballsy.
Danny Kelly
Maybe they'll. Maybe it'll be their year. However, this is the kind of draft they needed because I thought they got phenomenal value at every spot that they really needed a starter. And I was very impressed by this draft in Indianapolis.
Danny Heifetz
They also drafted a guy named George Gums.
Danny Kelly
George with a B.
Danny Heifetz
That's why George Gums Jr. As opposed my dog. My dog George is all gums. For some reason. His teeth all fell out.
Danny Kelly
I don't know George gums. George Comes Jr. Yeah.
Danny Heifetz
Please. My father was George Gums.
Danny Kelly
Okay, next pick here.
Danny Heifetz
Keep it moving, Craig.
Craig Rolbeck
I'm gonna go with the Chargers because I. I think Akeem Messador was sick and he's going to be good immediately. And they took Jake Slaughter, who's going to be a guard, which is help that they needed desperately. I love how fired up Mike McDaniel is about Brendan Thompson, the receiver they took in the fourth.
Danny Heifetz
Oh, my God.
Craig Rolbeck
Mississippi State.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah, I'm falling for it.
Craig Rolbeck
I'm falling for that. You don't like that guy?
Danny Kelly
164 pounds.
Craig Rolbeck
Mike McDaniel has a history of small players playing great. Devon HN.
Danny Kelly
Okay, but that's a different player. He's a running back. He also.
Craig Rolbeck
Devon H. History of players playing great. You said which ones?
Danny Kelly
I knew Devonations 190. That's 30. That's like almost 30 pounds heavy. You know, the 164.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah, but he's a running back.
Craig Rolbeck
He's a running back.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah.
Danny Kelly
He's 30. He's a light running back.
Danny Heifetz
Dude.
Danny Kelly
All right. I don't act like I am crazy. 164 pounds. He's literally the lightest offensive player in the entire league at any.
Craig Rolbeck
Respectfully. Respectfully. Why the hell would I take your opinion over Mike McDaniels 160?
Danny Kelly
Because I don't know how many players drafted.
Craig Rolbeck
I said respectfully.
Danny Kelly
You could say, say with a velvet painting.
Craig Rolbeck
With all due respect, I trust Mike McDaniel and his eagerness to take off his clothes for this man.
Danny Kelly
Well, then he better be good. Yeah.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah. Brendan Thompson never sees the field fantasy. People are gonna be 164.
Danny Kelly
It's just a lot that's.
Danny Heifetz
Look, get him, get him in a eating regimen.
Danny Kelly
I also think the Chargers, they took
Craig Rolbeck
him in the fourth round. You know, they take him at the top of the second.
Danny Kelly
I just want. All right, whatever. If I had been celebrating a 164 pound player, I think DK would be throwing cold water all over my shirtless
Craig Rolbeck
body about this man's weight. If he was 170, would you feel okay about it?
Danny Kelly
That's, that's also, I'm just, it's, it's just the kind of player that usually goes in the sixth round because they're never going to play. But 2, 2.
Danny Heifetz
Atwell was like the same height and weight.
Danny Kelly
He sucks.
Craig Rolbeck
And just in the league, he made
Danny Heifetz
$10 million last year.
Danny Kelly
Yeah, and then, and then they didn't bring him back.
Craig Rolbeck
He has a beard.
Danny Kelly
Whatever. Maybe I'm Rock. I don't know. I just thought it was, I think the Chargers not trading back back from the Akeem Messador pick was surprising considering the Bills traded back three times and Messador doesn't necessarily have the run defense they wanted. I don't know. We'll see.
Craig Rolbeck
But he's good. You know, Akeem Essler was in college good.
Danny Kelly
I, I hope he's good for the char. It's fine. Look, the LA Chargers, the most notoriously injury prone team that has somehow been washed out by the Niners in the substation. Getting a 25 year old guy with two different football seasons leading to like what Medical. You got a medical red shirt for two different seasons ruined by foot injuries. No problem on the Chargers. There's no issue going to happen there.
Craig Rolbeck
I think I'm very excited for the Charger season and I'm happy that they took guys on the defensive and offensive line and so I'm excited.
Danny Kelly
I, I, I would love the Chargers to be good. Okay. I'm going to take the Texans because it was a limited draft, but I think the Texans, if the Texans can make the super, the Texans can make the super bowl this year. If three things happen. CG Stroud's brain doesn't turn to soup. The Texans defense stays healthy and the Texans nail their first two picks because they got Keelan Rutledge, the guard from Georgia Tech. And then they have Cade McDonald, the defensive tackle from Ohio State that Craig made fun of me because I was so upset the Giants didn't Get them. But those two guys, the only things
Danny Heifetz
Heifers and Austin were like salad, running. Running around the room. Just apoplectic that they. That Katie McDonald was picked there.
Danny Kelly
And it's funny because every team passed on him, every single team declined to take Kaden McDonald and that at least once or twice. And we're dying for him. But I will say, I just think he's. He's a clogger. And he's exact. He's like, you know, really like Darren Rizzi. You know, he's just a clogger. And that's.
Danny Heifetz
He's a whole clogger. And this is premium hole clogger.
Danny Kelly
Premium. Yeah. Premium whole clogger. And I just think the Texans have a serious chance to win the super bowl if their defense stays healthy and Stroud doesn't suck.
Danny Heifetz
They also drafted a German guy named Marlon Klein.
Danny Kelly
I hated that pick. He's. He's like that one.
Danny Heifetz
Felt a little bit too cute to me, but we'll see. Six.
Danny Kelly
Six crazy athletes. Athlete. He's gonna be a blocker or whatever. I'm like, I.
Danny Heifetz
Sure.
Danny Kelly
But I. I don't know. I.
Danny Heifetz
The run on tight ends in the second round was a little funky.
Danny Kelly
They also got Wade Wood as to be behind Aziz Al Shayer, which is like elite linebacker depth.
Danny Heifetz
That guy does not need our help.
Craig Rolbeck
Wade Wood. Ass.
Danny Kelly
Wade Wood. Ass. What are you laying there, Wade?
Danny Heifetz
All right, next up, I am going to. I'm surprised this hasn't been taken yet. I'm going with the commanders, who, first of all, quietly. Somewhat quietly, especially relative to how much we talked about this guy in the run up to the draft, got Sonny Styles at number seven. I think that's just perfect for them. What they want to do. They can build their defense around him. He is. Shoot. I'm trying to remember someone I was reading the other day, someone called him a pterodactyl in the middle of the field. I think he's just got long arms, tons of range, can fly around.
Danny Kelly
Yeah.
Danny Heifetz
Can deal with some of the, like, the really mobile quarterbacks in the division. Also can function as a situational pass rusher at times and also blitz. So I just think there's a ton of upside there. I think Antonio Williams in the third round makes a ton of sense for them. He's a reliable receiver out of Clemson. He's reliable inside outside receiver, great hands, dynamic playmaker. He is one of those guys who's just a football player. He threw two touchdowns in college, does a little bit of everything. Runs after the Catch and then Joshua Joseph's in the fifth round I thought was really good value for them. He is a designated pass rusher. I think he's probably going to just be a sub package type guy only but that's what you get in the fifth round. But he has a ton of juice as a pass rusher so he gives them some, some help in that group. And then Catron Allen in the sixth round. No, I know this wasn't a great running back group catering. Allen is not the fastest guy in the world but I think he's got good vision, he's got good wiggle and he could be be a one. He could be like a back, a good backup in that, in that running back groups. So I think overall they did a really good job.
Danny Kelly
Washington just hit everything on the fairway with the free agent. Their free agency perfectly complements the draft they dealt with. They needed front seven desperately. They got the edge Russian free agency. They got signed to Dafe away from the charges, got Sonny Styles for the middle and then everyone else is just like a reasonable depth piece at a place that they needed it.
Craig Rolbeck
I, I just don't love the only thing with the commanders and I know they didn't have a ton of picks so it's hard for them to accomplish this but like, like I just don't feel good about the targets that they've surrounded. Jaden McDaniels with like I just don't think it's good.
Danny Heifetz
I think that's fair.
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah like you have Terry McLaurin who's 30, I guess you hope Antonio Williams works out but it's like you have trail on Burks, you have Luke McCaffrey. The running backs on the commanders are Rashad White and Bill Merritt and like Jerome for I, I just like the tight end is Chicacon. Like I just don't think this is a high quality enough offensive skill group to like win you a Super Bowl. I just don't think so.
Danny Kelly
The point about Chicacon, believe it or not he has more touchdowns in his career than every other tight end on the roster combined bind. So it's not, it's not a great experience.
Craig Rolbeck
It's not a Super bowl worthy offensive.
Danny Heifetz
I agree. Unimpressive. It's an I mean their starter. Yeah starters Rashad White, he's more of like a complimentary guy. Craig, I will say it will it feel different and look different to you if they do pull off this, this trade for the 49ers receiver Ayuk and he comes in there and I mean
Craig Rolbeck
it's hard for me to feel good about anything going on.
Danny Kelly
Well, if they get Brandon Iuk for like a 6th round pick or some.
Danny Heifetz
That's. That's very valid. Craig.
Danny Kelly
Brandon Ayuk who's gonna have to give back guaranteed money maybe from his contract free agent.
Danny Heifetz
What's going on with Debo? Are we. Is he gonna play this year?
Danny Kelly
I think no. Everyone's waiting for after June 1, which is when you don't have to give compensatory picks. So like certain guys that were like free, like if you sign them. However, a guy like Diggs, I don't know what's going on with him because he was cut technically, I don't know. But I, I don't think Debo is like. I mean if they thought Debo was a real contributor, he would be on Washington. I'm not impressed.
Danny Heifetz
Well, the rest of the league would have thought that as well. Yeah. Anyway. No, I, I generally agree with Craig's point though.
Craig Rolbeck
I'm gonna take Tennessee and I'm doing it because I'm happy that they gave Cam Ward somebody to work with and. And then they even got Keldrick Falk the edge rush out of Auburn at the end of the first round. And then dk, they got a linebacker I know you like Anthony Hill Jr. In the second round they brought in a run. They brought in that Penn State running back Nick Singleton late who's like a low floor high upside. Maybe was a really high recruit back in the day, didn't quite work out. But Carnell tated for. It's like sure, that was probably too high. But you need to get somebody for Cam Ward to fucking throw the ball to. And if you don't look at when he was picked and you just look at what they did, I think you feel good going into this year that now you have like something to work around with with Cam Ward.
Danny Heifetz
I completely agree.
Danny Kelly
I Keljig Falk is fell in the draft because he's not.
Danny Heifetz
I would say.
Danny Kelly
Tell me if you're wrong, Dick. He's. He's explosive and versatile. Sorry. He's strong and versatile, but not necessarily the most explosive player.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah.
Danny Kelly
However, Keldrick Falk again, he will be eligible for a contract extension on his rookie deal when he is younger than Akeem Messador is now. So you just have to be. You know what I mean? And so he's 21. I believe he's 20. He's not. Yeah, he just turned 21 one and. Or no, that's not true. He's 22 in September, but regardless, he's three and a half years younger than Akeem Ecdore. So I like that pick. I also. Anthony Hill Jr. The linebacker to Texas going to Titans in the third round. Tennessee desperately needed an inside linebacker. That's one of the reasons we thought they might take Sonny Styles is because, like, the Titans linebacker group was not ready to run the defense. And so I think Anthony Hill is a big ad for them.
Danny Heifetz
Anthony Hill is one of the most fun players to watch in this whole class. He flies around down. It's crazy. I mean, he's like, he does a lot of. They like run blitz him. So he's just coming through the line of scrimmage.
Danny Kelly
It's like overshot tomorrow. Overshone was at Texas and Anthony teams recruit similar players and Anthony Hill's a little bit in that vein, but he,
Danny Heifetz
He's a rangy, explosive, athletic linebacker. Tons of upside there. I love that pick.
Craig Rolbeck
And like, you would have felt pretty grim heading into the season if you didn't take Carnell Tate. And now, you know, now the wide receiver group, Tate plus Calvin Ridley, Wandale Robinson, Ellic IO Manor, and Shamari dk, who was actually pretty interesting last year.
Danny Kelly
All pro punk returner.
Craig Rolbeck
Totally. When you kind of round all those guys together, you're like, you know what, this is actually something you can work with.
Danny Kelly
And Nicholas Singleton, the running back from Penn State who's, you know, fifth round pick. But again, that with Tony Pollard and yes, Darth Row, but Tony Pollard and Tashi Spears are in contract years, so I think it's going to work. Okay, so I'm up now, huh? This is where things get a little.
Danny Heifetz
Get a little flat.
Craig Rolbeck
Well, we're now moving from complimentary towards
Danny Kelly
words apathetic, slightly derogatory. It's funny, I could take the Patriots here, but there's no way I'm gonna get caught dead saying the Patriots had a good weekend. So I'll leave that to one of you boys.
Danny Heifetz
Well, we did. We're not talking about the coaches here or.
Danny Kelly
No, no, no, no. That's.
Danny Heifetz
We're talking about the draft that the GM specifically only was there to make.
Craig Rolbeck
Right?
Danny Heifetz
That's what, that's what we're talking about.
Danny Kelly
No constant communication here.
Danny Heifetz
They left him on red on day three.
Danny Kelly
I'm just gonna go ahead and take. I'll just take the Bears because I just. It's not perfect and I still wish they just had a better front seven. But, man, getting Dylan Thienaman the safety at Oregon, it's Exact. I mean, he. What a perfect fit with him and Dennis Allen's defense. And then they got a center, the. The kid from Iowa. I. I just. I mean, they're center retired. It's not sexy. But, like, this is one of those teams that can win the super bowl. And Dylan Thieman is the kind of defensive back that you're. Halfway through the season, you're like, holy, how did this guy go? 25th.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah, I love that guy.
Craig Rolbeck
We're at the point now in this, in this, the draft draft where it's like, if you kind of crushed your first round pick, now you're eligible to be taken, right?
Danny Kelly
I mean, honestly, like, I just. I. The Bears are trying to win a Super bowl and they got an amazing defensive back. And I like their other picks too.
Danny Heifetz
But, I mean, the Bears are funny because they are. They're similar to some of these other teams that we're making fun of this week, which was like, they, they don't seem to understand the idea of value. They. They take guys that are, you know, 200th on the. The consensus draft board in the second round. They seem to do that every year. Xavian Thomas, the receiver from lsu, was kind of the guy this year. That. That was that guy. And then I think Logan Jones, that was kind of considered reach, but he could end up being a starter for them. That felt a little bit like a panic pick because their center retired. But Sam Roush. Roush, the tight end from Stanford, could be a good depth piece for them at tight end. They love doing tight end, like multiple tight end set stuff in that offense. Keyshawn Elliott was another guy that I liked coming in, and they got him late. They got him in the fifth round, so I thought that was a good value. So overall, I thought it was a good draft. I just love Thieneman, though. He's awesome.
Danny Kelly
Who's next for you, dk?
Danny Heifetz
I'm going to go with the Bengals because. And again, this is kind of. Of including the fact that they traded the 10th pick for Dexter Lawrence. I know you could talk about. Well, we could talk about if that was an overpay or not, but they used that piece of draft capital to get a. I think they basically spent
Craig Rolbeck
their 10th pick on Dexter Lawrence. That's a draft move.
Danny Kelly
Like half credit because. Like half credit because you're like, yeah, we did that, but you don't feel it in your bones. You know what I mean?
Danny Heifetz
I. I understand what you're saying, but still, I think even if you look past that, I liked the, the players that they added, Cassius Howell is.
Danny Kelly
Well, just by that logic, imagine Cowboys fans being like, take the Michael Parsons trade and then telling them that, you know, you won the draft. Think about what you got. You got. You think about, we got Michael Parsons. Look at Malachi Lawrence. Like they'd lose their minds.
Danny Heifetz
I personally, I think you can include a player if this is like the. You're getting a new player because of that draft pick. Like sometimes it's like for the Cowboys, I'm not including Michael Parsons in their draft class because he was there last year.
Danny Kelly
Year.
Danny Heifetz
You know what I mean? So it's like it, it is a little bit of like. I don't know how you define it, but to me, in my mind, I'm just kind of counting.
Danny Kelly
It's part of it. It's part of it. For sure. For sure.
Danny Heifetz
Well, we'll say half. We'll say three quarters. Yeah, it feels like half, but past that you got Cash's Howell, who I think is a day one contributor. He can come in and provide heat off the edge. He's going to be a pain in the ass, cause chaos in the, in the backfield. They absolutely need that. They lost what's his face Hendrickson in the off season. I think Takaro Davis could come in and play for them. He's really long cornerback on the outside from Washington. They got Connor Liu, the center from Auburn, who I think that was a great value for them. The reason he fell so far is because he tore his ACL last season. But if he gets healthy, he could end up being a starter for them. Brian Parker is another guy that could end up playing on their offensive line. I liked Jack Entries, the tight end out of Texas, who I think in two years he may be starting for them as well. So, like, if you look at this class, it's not sexy. That's the reason they kind of fell this spot. But. But I think you get multiple starters or andor contributors early on.
Craig Rolbeck
Okay, I'm going to take. I think this is the 20th pick now, so we're really kind of in the muck. I'm going to take the Saints because I think if you're a Saints fan, you are cautiously optimistic about what your offense could look like in 2026. And Jordan Tyson at 8, pairing him with Chris Alave. They also took Bryce Lance, Trey Lance's brother, in the fourth round. Another big wide receiver, they said.
Danny Kelly
Fast as hell. He is fast. He's a lot faster than Trey Lance.
Danny Heifetz
He can run like the wind blows.
Craig Rolbeck
They Took a tight end, Oscar Delp, who was in DK's top 100. And they.
Danny Heifetz
He runs a four. Four. Craig.
Danny Kelly
I love Oscar Delp in college. I love just watching. When I was watching Georgia. I don't know, honestly, it might just be the pure helmet bias of having seen.
Danny Heifetz
Oh, it's. It's definitely uniform bias. He's like, oh, is this the next.
Craig Rolbeck
Brock Bowers slept like.
Danny Kelly
I mean, that's probably all it is, is. I remember Brock Bowers. That guy looks like him, kind of. But I did like Del.
Danny Heifetz
He was one of those players that was a. I want to say he was a pretty big time recruit. He was a four star and his production was never quite there. But like, the way that they play offense, the production is kind of hard.
Danny Kelly
One day we're going to have to break down how they give these stars out.
Craig Rolbeck
I love when people are upgraded, when it's like they were a two star but then they signed with the team and they have like a good year and it's like, oh, actually he's been upgraded to a three star star.
Danny Heifetz
Do they do that?
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah, people get upgraded all the time.
Danny Heifetz
Oh, wow.
Craig Rolbeck
I don't know how that works. They have a good off season and then they become a three star. How does that work?
Danny Kelly
I don't know. I.
Craig Rolbeck
But yeah, I'll take the Saints.
Danny Kelly
I think that's.
Danny Heifetz
I think that's fair. Yeah. Yeah, I can see that.
Danny Kelly
I could see that.
Craig Rolbeck
You can see that.
Danny Kelly
So can I. Should I take the. How much am I getting, Micah? Should I take the packers and just be like, micah Parsons, great pick with that first pick?
Danny Heifetz
No, we just went over this.
Danny Kelly
It was a long time ago.
Danny Heifetz
Why do you have to be such a curmudgeon about it? All right.
Danny Kelly
Because the Giants lost Dexter Lawrence and I'm still. I. I feel like I'm the only Giants fan who's upset about it, but whatever. Like, the Giants traded for the 10th pick. Sick Giants traded for Francis Marino and everyone's like, golf club cool. Anyway, I'll take the Bills because I think I respect the discipline of. They did the not sexy but extremely responsible thing, which was in a draft and I said this on Thursday night. Show, show anyone that everyone was like, yeah, 18th pick to like the 50th 60th pick. It's all flat. All the guys are similar. Well, the Bills are the only one who acted like it. And they traded down three times. And guess what? Oh, wow. George hates this.
Danny Heifetz
Jesus, George. George. Are you counting DJ Moore in the Straf Class if it's no.
Danny Kelly
But I think that what was impressive is that.
Craig Rolbeck
And would they be higher or lower if you were.
Danny Kelly
Oh, they got DJ Moore, they got
Danny Heifetz
DJ More for a 20, 26 second it.
Danny Kelly
And DK how many mock drafts did you see where people gave T.J. parker, the defensive end of Clemson to the Bills in the first round? A lot.
Danny Heifetz
Including my own.
Danny Kelly
There you go. So the Bills traded back three times, basically collected the. If you add up all the value they got, basically it's like the equivalent of like the 44th pick of the three trades. Well, they traded the 60th pick for Digimore. So they more or less like according to the nerd charts made up the value of that trade and then still got the guy they were going to get anyway. And then all the, the Bills, they also just made a lot of picks. Picks like the Bills ended up making I think like 10 plus picks here and it's like I'm not going to go through all the players. I like Skyler Bell, the receiver, Yukon. They got all the defenders but like they have a new defense. Sean McDermott, the head coach is gone. They have Jim Letter, the new defense coordinator. They have a new system and like it's smart to just make a lot of picks and trade back and I like that they accumulated a lot of value and had the discipline to do it because I think a lot of teams probably felt that way but we're too cowardly to do it.
Danny Heifetz
I think a couple guys that are interesting in this class outside of TJ Parker which made 100, he was just, just the most on brand pick you could imagine for the Bills. That was why everybody had them going there. Davison, ig, Benison. Igbison from Ohio State.
Danny Kelly
The names are unbelievable in the Bills.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah, they do have some good names in this Caleb, Elarm, Zor. But yeah, Igbison was an interesting one. I think he's a really long, physical outside corner, twitchy athlete. He's one of those guys where I can't tell if this is a positive or negative, but he is absolutely just. He, he freaking. He had 30, he got called for 30 flags in college. So he's the like the most physical, almost blatantly over. He just needs to be a little more subtle. I like that he plays with physicality
Craig Rolbeck
on the basketball court.
Danny Heifetz
Yes, 100 my kind of guy. Like you could hear him chasing you down. The clopping on the field is like scary and then these players end up
Danny Kelly
missing going from watching the draft and like watching prospects and Stuff to like turning on the NBA playoffs. And I'm just like, they call these fouls. I'm like, what the. He barely touched him. Like, it's infuriating to go from watching football in April to basketball in April. It's just like, jesus, that's a foul. Like, my God, no wonder people are out on it.
Danny Heifetz
I don't want to live in a world where that's a foul.
Danny Kelly
Unbelievable.
Danny Heifetz
Skyler Bell, the receiver out of Yukon is another interesting one in the fourth round. I think that's about where he should have gone.
Danny Kelly
Dude, all these guys sound like John Wick. Assassins. Jalen Kilgore, Zayn Durant, Toriano Pride. It's unbelievable.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah, Armad Ree, Armage, Reed Adams, Tommy Thomas, Jude Bowery. Yeah, there's some good ones. I could, I could see this. I think it's.
Danny Kelly
You can see it.
Danny Heifetz
Wait, is it me? I'm going with the Patriots. I'll say it. Elliot Wolf did a good job in this.
Danny Kelly
Can we make a big Instagram graphic? DK thinks the Patriots, they won the weekend.
Danny Heifetz
I'm not saying they won the draft. I'm saying the picks that they made, I mean, made sense to me.
Craig Rolbeck
You're, you're saying they had the 22nd best draft. It's not like you're exactly right giving them a trophy.
Danny Heifetz
I liked that they traded up. They had a target and Caleb Blomu, they traded up a couple spots to grab him. He could end up being a long term starter for them. Gabe Akis was one of my favorite players in this draft. I talked about him a ton in the pre draft process. He absolutely clobbers people. He hits harder. He's like cement back there. He is. He's really fun to watch. Dude. He just like when, when he hits quarterbacks, they crumple to the ground round. It's crazy. Eli Raridon, tight end out of Notre Dame, he is another very interesting pick for them. He could be the long term successor to Hunter Henry. And then if you go down, down the list a little bit further, they had like some developmental guys. Jam Miller out of Alabama, I think is an interesting pick in the seventh round. He, I don't think he's like the most versatile running back, but he definitely runs hard. He runs really hard. So I'm excited to watch him in the preseason. But overall I think it's the first, those first three picks, picks stood out to me. I thought they got three, you know, starters with those picks.
Craig Rolbeck
Okay, Craig, can I include Jalen Waddle in the If I pick Denver.
Danny Kelly
Yeah, yeah, I'll take.
Craig Rolbeck
I'll take Denver.
Danny Heifetz
Heifetz's. I feel like if it's his decision on who to include is all over the place.
Danny Kelly
But don't you know what I mean? Don't you know what I mean where I'm like, obviously the player matters, but also when you're doing your grade, we're not grading it. Like, the trade happened during the draft. Like, you kind of are like, the information settled in and you're like, it's like half or two thirds. Am I crazy? Like Brock?
Craig Rolbeck
I'm okay. I think in the moment it feels like that. But then after fact, now looking back and you're like, oh, if I'm a Broncos fan, you're like, we traded the 30th pick in the draft for Jalen Waddle. That's awesome.
Danny Kelly
Fair. But isn't that. I guess what I'm saying, isn't that something you tell your logical brain, but you don't necessarily feel.
Craig Rolbeck
I don't know if I agree. I feel like if I was a Broncos fan, I'd be like, fuck, yeah. Yeah. Like the. In the draft, we acquired Jalen Waddle.
Danny Heifetz
Here. Here's how I would stipulate it. I kind of. I understand what Heifers is saying. I generally just. I don't know if you could put a number on it, but I. The. The fact that they're going to have to pay Waddle a lot of money versus what a rookie would make is a little bit different. So maybe we'll just say like 0.75 or something.
Danny Kelly
I guess what I'm saying is. I'm not saying that.
Craig Rolbeck
What you're also getting the guarantee that he's good.
Danny Kelly
But I'm not saying I'm. I should be correct. I'm not trying to be like this is how it should be, but it is how it. Like. I guess this is the simplest way to say it. Dk, you get. Did you like the. What was your favorite trade of all the off season trades? Or let's say you really thought the DJ More trade. The Bills got a great return on that. You thought that was fantastic, right?
Danny Heifetz
No, I didn't, but go ahead.
Danny Kelly
No, sorry, not the argument. You said the Bears got a good return for DJ Moore.
Danny Heifetz
I thought, right, right.
Danny Kelly
Okay. Well, you gave the Bears a B minus. If the DG Moore happened trade happened during the draft, don't you think it might have been a higher grade?
Craig Rolbeck
I see what you mean.
Danny Kelly
Everyone would give higher grades. If these trades happened during the draft. That's all I'm saying.
Craig Rolbeck
I get that. But I think assessing it now retroactively, from a fan's perspective, it has to be included.
Danny Kelly
That's fine. I get. I'm not saying I'm right. I just. It is a weird thing that like the same trades on the day of which change it. But I know you're right. It shouldn't be that way.
Craig Rolbeck
So. So yeah, the Broncos, they traded their 30th pick for Waddle and then they didn't have a pick until the beginning of the third round, which they took a defensive tackle and then they took Jonah Coleman, the running back out of Washington. The thinking man. Was he. Is he the thinking man's. Yeah, it took the thinking man's cam. Scatter. Boo. Which, you know, they, they needed another running back with RJ Harvey and I guess JK Dobbins is there. But. But this is mainly just like a. They needed a playmaker at wide receiver and they, they guaranteed that they got one.
Danny Kelly
I. I love when you're at a restaurant and it's like a confident menu. Like there's like seven things on the menu.
Craig Rolbeck
You're like, every single thing is like Budanoki had that. There was like things on the menu.
Danny Kelly
If you live in la, go to Budanoki.
Danny Heifetz
He actually did like order everything we did.
Danny Kelly
He did. And I think the Broncos draft, like Sean Payton, for better or for worse, he drafts like a Michelin star chef where he's like, well, well, we only really need four players. So I'm just going to take the right four players. And like that's kind of how Denver and Sean Payton operate. They're like, I need that receiver, I need this running back, this defensive tackle and the line linebacker. I'm done.
Danny Heifetz
Speaking of all name team, Cage Casey, the offensive tackle out of Boise State.
Danny Kelly
Cage with a K. Cage with a K is.
Craig Rolbeck
And they also took a guy named Red Murdoch.
Danny Kelly
Dude, the names they Red murder.
Craig Rolbeck
That guy's right out of the.
Danny Heifetz
Red Murdoch is Red Murdoch, private eye
Craig Rolbeck
and he's out of Buffalo, man.
Danny Kelly
Red Murdoch.
Danny Heifetz
Red Murdoch and Cage Casey are on the case.
Danny Kelly
Do you think there's been a Red Bardock at the NFL already? I feel like they're half. He was relevant.
Danny Heifetz
Oh, was he?
Danny Kelly
Yeah.
Danny Heifetz
Sick.
Danny Kelly
Last pick in the draft, Red Murdoch at that.
Danny Heifetz
All right, let's keep it moving.
Danny Kelly
Well, I'm going to take the Green Bay Packs packers and I'm going to do that even though I. Well, you know, I, I do. I get half of Micah Parsons. Sure it was a year ago.
Danny Heifetz
I think it's more like a quarter. I don't know.
Danny Kelly
I don't know the answer either.
Craig Rolbeck
We will afford you 25%.
Danny Kelly
I think the packers, it's. Maybe this is.
Danny Heifetz
How much do we factor in the fact that he tore his ACL.
Craig Rolbeck
Okay, 20%.
Danny Kelly
I don't know the answer. But the other ones, I. Once we get past the packers, they're trending towards teams that I thought less of. And some. I. I don't know. Maybe this is a bad pick, but I'm. I'll give quarter of Micah Parsons. But also I. They didn't make a ton of picks for Green Bay, but I just think the players they got were very Green Bay. Like, they're all just good values they get. Like, I can always get his name right. Brandon C. Say, the defensive back from South Carolina, Just a good player that they kind of needed. I think Chris McClellan, defensive tackle from Missouri. Well, Green Bay needed one, and they got a good one. I think Danny Denise Sutton, we actually talked about him going to Penn State. Not going to Penn State, going to Packers. Tyler Brook. He shouted out, Danny Denise Sutton as a match for the packers like, a month ago. And I thought that was a great call. They just got a lot of good parts. I hate drafting a kicker, but they got Trey Smack from Florida. I love a kicker named Smack.
Danny Heifetz
Trey Smack, kicker named Smack. Jesus, look at that name.
Craig Rolbeck
The.
Danny Kelly
I just feel like the.
Danny Heifetz
All these are Smack.
Danny Kelly
Trace Mac is wild. And also, dude, Florida had Trace Mack. And this man's a kicker.
Craig Rolbeck
He sounds like a rapper from 2012.
Danny Kelly
Dude, Florida also had. Had Jake Slaughter. They had.
Danny Heifetz
Jake Smack is on the track, Craig. Yeah.
Danny Kelly
Jake Slaughter and Trey Mack were on the same team.
Craig Rolbeck
Trey Smack, like, Trey Smack opened for Akon in 2009.
Danny Heifetz
Trey smack.
Danny Kelly
That's. It's so good.
Danny Heifetz
They also have a Jaeger or Jaeger Burton.
Danny Kelly
Yeah, Florida might have had. Florida had some of the best names in all of college football last year.
Danny Heifetz
All right, well, cool. I'll count that. I'm gonna be the homer and I'm gonna take the Seahawks. Even though we can certainly quibble about the value of taking a running back in the first round, I do think he will end up playing a lot for them and be pretty good for them. I like him as a player.
Danny Kelly
Yeah, I should have took them instead of Packers. I actually think that was stupid.
Danny Heifetz
I definitely did not love the value of that, but I think they did kind of just get into a. A weird situation. Bad luck where they couldn't trade back and they just really wanted this guy. So they I said it and we'll take him. Everything else I was pretty happy with though. Bud Clark really liked him. He was a guy I kind of identified before the draft as a Seahawks esque type player.
Danny Kelly
You knew they were taking them months before they took him, but you know, you just telling us now, well, you
Danny Heifetz
can go check out a video. I was on the Seahawks man to man podcast like a couple weeks ago with Mike Dugar and he was a guy that I kind of identified. So suck it high fits. Bud Clark, safety out of tcu. He, he is a corner who. He's a corner sized safety so he can play nickelback. I think he, there's a world in which he can play corner. He flies around. Incredible ball skills. I want to say he had like 15 interceptions in college. Julian Neil, a corner out of Arkansas was a player that I think every Seahawks fan that closely studies the draft had circled as a Seahawk type player. They took him in the third round. Bo Stevens, multi year starter for Iowa's offensive line. That's all I need to know. Plug him in, let him play. He, he's teammates with Jennings Dunker, so that's good. And then after that there was just kind of a bunch of random guys. They got Emmanuel Henderson who is basically a special teams player and then a couple other developmental guys in the seventh round. But they turned. They had four picks coming in. They traded around. They ended up taking, let's see here, eight players and I do think there are at least two to three starters in this group. So overall, you know, obviously a hate the hate the value of that first rounder. But overall they came away with some good players.
Craig Rolbeck
We are now this is the 26th pick and I think this team has been appropriately punished by selecting them here. But I will take the Arizona Cardinals now.
Danny Heifetz
Ooh.
Craig Rolbeck
Who. There's only like six teams that can go after them. I, I don't think they had a great draft. But at, at, at 26 you can be excited that you have Jeremiah Love who might be the best player in the draft.
Danny Heifetz
Yes. Yeah, I think that's best play the draft. Boom.
Craig Rolbeck
You took a shot at a quarterback you think might be good. Maybe DK suggested they might have been number one on Arizona's board. Carson Beck out of Miami, you took a good guard and Chase Besantis in the second round. You know, was it the right draft for them? Maybe not. But 26 here. Will it be kind of cool to see Jeremiah Love rip off a couple Runs this year.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah, absolutely.
Craig Rolbeck
And maybe you get your wide receiver, your quarterback next year and it all works out.
Danny Heifetz
Maybe we end up looking like idiots. Wouldn't be the first time time.
Danny Kelly
Speaking of which. Oh, man, there's two teams. There's two teams here I could take.
Danny Heifetz
I'm surprised one team is still on the board.
Danny Kelly
I think I'm gonna take the Lions.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah, that's the team.
Danny Kelly
Like the Lions.
Danny Heifetz
Seems like the obvious one here.
Danny Kelly
The Lions I'm gonna take. I mean the Lions did fine. Lions got. I mean they got a right tackle with the 17th pick, Blake Miller at a Clemson who. And they're going to move Penny Seoul to left tackle and they needed that. And then they went and did everything. The light. The Lions have needed the same three spots for like five years. They needed edge rushers. They needed cornerbacks particularly then like defense. And that's kind went and got. They got Derek Moore out of Michigan. Like that's a lion's ass player. Like, you know what I mean? Keith Abdy, the cornerback from Arizona State, I thought he might go higher. He ended up going in the fifth round. He's fine. Like, I don't know. They need bodies. It's like they did. They're kind of another on the. They hit it on the fairway team. They got the positions that they needed to get. Kind of like Washington just without the really sexy pick. Like, you know, Washington got Sonny Styles, but I don't know the lines got what they need.
Danny Heifetz
So I think that there's. We always have these conversations and it's kind of a narrative from every draft. But it's going to be very interesting to watch. Watch like for instance David Bailey versus Arvell Reese. Like watch their careers over the next four or five years. Who ends up being a superstar. Maybe they both end up being superstars and we never talk about it again. Maybe one guy's awesome and the other guy's a total bus. Who knows? I think it's going to be interesting to watch what happens with Blake Miller versus Monroe Freeling because everybody connected Freeling to the Lions pre draft and thought, oh, this makes a ton of sense for them. They could just leave Sewell, you know, where in his position that he's most comfortable at. He's like an all pro at that spot. We don't have to worry about it. You don't have to like, you know, reinvent the wheel and around with all of oh, there's a cat on the screen.
Danny Kelly
Yes, let's go look at this guy.
Craig Rolbeck
There's A cat on the field.
Danny Kelly
It's the Lions. He came for the Lions pick.
Danny Heifetz
Oh, boy. But I think it will be interesting to watch Blake Miller vs. Monroe Freeling because Monro Monroe Freeling went two picks later to the. To the Panthers and Blake Miller. It felt like a little bit of a reach. I think he fits, like, what their identity is and toughness and grit. And he was only. He only missed, like, one practice in college, so, like, I can understand why they liked him, but I think Freeling has higher upside, so we'll see how that goes.
Craig Rolbeck
God, it's getting grim.
Danny Heifetz
So who's next? Who's up?
Craig Rolbeck
Dk, you're up.
Danny Heifetz
I'm up. Okay. Well, there's two. There's two classes here that I'm trying to choose between.
Craig Rolbeck
Wearing a cat on your shirt?
Danny Kelly
Yeah, it's. It's a picture of the cat, and then this is the cat. Catception. Look at him.
Danny Heifetz
All right, I'll go with the Vikings. I think the Vikings have been punished enough. This is kind of what Craig said. The Vikings have been punished enough for making a risky pick in the first round.
Danny Kelly
It's the right car Call dk.
Danny Heifetz
The Vikings. Look, if Caleb Banks can stay healthy, this turns out to be an outstanding pick.
Danny Kelly
Yeah. Vikings might win the division of Caleb.
Danny Heifetz
That is, like, the literal only thing I'm worried about, because I think Caleb Banks has really good tape, and he's obviously a massive human being. He's 6 foot 6, 325 pounds, moves well. He's a very extraordinary body type in terms of length and size and athletic ability. Foot movement. Sorry, not foot speed. And then obviously, the foot injury is what's really worrisome. But he's supposed to be all ready to go by June, so if he's healthy on the field, great.
Craig Rolbeck
Awesome pick.
Danny Kelly
Can you tell what the Vikings were worried about? Like, the spine of the defense, Like Kayla Banks, defensive tackle. The first pick. Their second picks, Jake Old, a linebacker. The third picks, Dominic Orange, defensive tackle. Dude, they call him Big Citrus.
Danny Heifetz
Big Citrus. Best nickname in the draft.
Danny Kelly
Real Dominique Orange. So it's like they took a two. Two defensive tackles, a linebacker, and a safety in the top 100. It doesn't include it.
Danny Heifetz
I mean, if we. If we look back on this draft, if we look back on this podcast in a year or two, and Caleb Banks is fully healthy. Viking fans, you have every right to come back and be mad at us, but I think that's just the main worry. Gold days, an interesting one in particular. He kind of played an overhang slot role for Cincinnati this last year where he was like playing in space a lot. He's got that, he's got like a big, well built, like, body type. But him in that defense where you just never know where pressure's coming to Brian Flores defense, you just kind of can and trick the, trick the offensive lineman, trick the quarterback. I think he, he's a really interesting pick for them at that spot. So I think they've, they've like, like I, like I said, they've been punished way too much I think for this first pick. And this is, this could end up being a really good looking draft class.
Craig Rolbeck
All right, my second to last pick is going to be the Atlanta Falcons, who, you know, look, they didn't have a first round pick because they traded up for one last year. And that guy is now going through a lot of complicated legal issues. So not great way to start. However, with the second pick or with their second round pick, they got a guy who probably could have been a first rounder. Davion Terrell, who's the brother. His brother's on the team. Like, is. Is that not good vibes? Is that recovering the vibes to draft a guy who has his own brother was in the draft room with him getting like that. That was very cool to watch. Very heartwarming.
Danny Kelly
Yeah.
Craig Rolbeck
So, yeah, like, Terrell, he's a cornerback out of Clemson. He probably could have been a first rounder. So getting him in the second is a nice pick. And then they took DK's guy, Zachariah Branch, who's like a speedy little wide receiver who. It's. The jury's still out. And if he can catch the football, if he can receive the football, but
Danny Kelly
just can he do it beyond the line of scrimmage, hand it off to him.
Craig Rolbeck
You know what? He doesn't have to.
Danny Kelly
I will say I was a hater before the draft. I was like, 29 teams. This will not work. The Falcons in Tua is one of the spots Zachariah Branch can work.
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah.
Danny Kelly
And also we didn't mention that he got arrested and was basically like, like
Danny Heifetz
the police report for not moving from
Danny Kelly
the sidewalk, standing in the way of the side of cop on his sidewalk, and they charged him with like prowling,
Craig Rolbeck
which is basically just like impersonating a fire hydrant.
Danny Heifetz
Hey.
Danny Kelly
He stood there and they were like, we told him to move and he didn't.
Danny Heifetz
He's taller than that. Yeah. No, I agree with Hypert. So this is a great landing spot. I feel like he can be an Extension of their run game. He. You know what I mean? He can screenplays, things like that. I do think again, I do think he has a skill set to get deep. So we'll see how that goes.
Craig Rolbeck
All right, Hiz.
Danny Kelly
Oh, sorry, my cat. Wait. Oh, you know what, man? Should I take the Jaguars because my cat's here.
Craig Rolbeck
There's four teams left, right?
Danny Heifetz
Yeah.
Danny Kelly
I hate the Jaguars draft. I'm going to take the Rams.
Danny Heifetz
There we go.
Danny Kelly
For all the mishas.
Craig Rolbeck
Okay.
Danny Heifetz
What if he's good?
Danny Kelly
What if Ty Simpson's good, dude?
Craig Rolbeck
Well, we won't know until 2028, I guess.
Danny Kelly
Or maybe Matt Stafford, you know, the 38 year old with the recurring back injury gets hurt in October ti we
Danny Heifetz
don't talk about that high and everyone's like, talk about that now. Is it ironic they've got us trailer thing they can put.
Danny Kelly
Exactly. Is it ironic that the person who missed time and really suffered down the stretch of the back injury last year was actually Ty Simpson, not Matt Stafford? Yes. That's pretty funny. However, the fact that we're all just like, look, Matt Stafford, he made it through a whole season without a back injury. It's fine. It's like, well, if Matt Stafford got hurt and they hadn't taken a quarterback and then Jimmy Grappler retired, we'd be like, why didn't the Rams address quarterback? That is absolutely what we'd be saying is how did sh. This coming? Is it? Look, are the.
Craig Rolbeck
They probably could have in the second
Danny Heifetz
round by taking any number of backup.
Danny Kelly
It's kind of like when we all wondered if the Niners would take Mac Jones with the third pick and then the Patriots just didn't trade up and he just fell to the 15 and like. But the Rams probably could have done it later. However, I the look, are the Seahawks and Niners, the Rams enemies, celebrating this pick and being like, wow, the Rams didn't take a player. We'll have to see. Yes.
Danny Heifetz
However, did they piss off their MVP quarterback? Yes. Did they potentially drive a wedge between the most important player on the team and the coaching staff?
Danny Kelly
Yes, seemingly. So was he so concerned about it he decided he'd try to lie and
Danny Heifetz
be like, weird freaking like performance in the. In the press conference. And now everything is super weird and they have to keep going on TV to explain that they're not mad? Don't put it in the newspaper that I'm mad. Yes.
Danny Kelly
Here's the problem. Here's the one problem. Happy. Everyone thinks that this was kind of a weird pick by the Rams. When everyone thinks something about a quarterback, huge problem, quite a bit. And everyone agrees that this was kind of silly. Ty Simpson has to play. Here's my thing. Let's say Matt Stafford tweaks his back during a game, leaves. How many drives does Ty Simpson have to look good till you guys are like, whoa's three. Yeah, one and a half.
Danny Heifetz
Doesn't even need 1.5.
Craig Rolbeck
If he. He has one good drive, then I'll go, all right, I need to see one more drive. And then halfway through that drive, after he converts a third and 12, I'll be like, how many? They did it.
Danny Heifetz
How many completions does he have to make before I say, yeah, eight. Four.
Danny Kelly
Exactly. I'm like, it's just. You know what? I think that alone I'm gonna take the ribs.
Danny Heifetz
By the way, I really like Max Claire too.
Danny Kelly
I don't.
Danny Heifetz
It doesn't make any sense because they have like six other tight ends on the roster, but I really like Max Claire to tight end of Ohio State.
Craig Rolbeck
There's only two teams left. So dk, you just get the pick
Danny Heifetz
between the niners taking the 49ers. Yeah, I arguably could have taken them quite a bit higher here, but I'm hating Dijon. Stribling, not great value. But another, Another situation with like what happened with the Seahawks. I like the player just took him way too high. I think he'll be a good player. He blocks his ass off. I never seen so many pancake blocks from a receiver in my life. I don't think, I mean legitimately. Five or six pancakes on his tape this last year where he's just knocking corners on their ass. So that's really exciting. I think he feels a need for them in terms of what they want to do, the identity that they have on. Off offense. He comes in, he. He fills the Juwan Jennings role. In fact, I saw somebody made this joke. You know how it was third and Juan, now it's third and Dijon.
Danny Kelly
Oh, that's good. Yeah, that's why they took him.
Danny Heifetz
Probably.
Craig Rolbeck
You can't do that until you've seen him play. That.
Danny Kelly
That's.
Craig Rolbeck
That's a nickname you earn.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah, that's fair. Very fair. Romello height, 25 year old edge rusher who's undersized and probably only plays on pass downs.
Danny Kelly
But you don't be undersized if you're. Your name is Height, right?
Danny Heifetz
Sure, that's a good point. But he does bring the heat off the edge. And then Kaylin Black, but one of the best. Not if not the best pass protecting running backs in this class. When I, when I start saying this all together, this is why they're second to last. But I do think there's several contributors here. I just didn't love the value with hardly any of them.
Craig Rolbeck
The guys. What's the name of the corner they took?
Danny Heifetz
Ephesians Price. Sock.
Craig Rolbeck
Ephesians Price Sock.
Danny Heifetz
All time name.
Danny Kelly
I mean my goodness, that sounds like a character in Fallout.
Craig Rolbeck
It does.
Danny Heifetz
All right. And then Mr.
Craig Rolbeck
Irrelevant. Well, I guess I have to take the Jacksonville Jaguars who didn't have a first round pick because they traded up for Travis Hunter last year and they how's that going? They selected 10 players and I have never heard of nine of them.
Danny Heifetz
Let's just go through them real quick here. They, they took a 25 year old 6th year senior with 38 total catches in his college career.
Danny Kelly
Anyone who needs 6 years to be a starter in college football. I like wanted to explain to me how you're a second round pick in the NFL. Like 38 catches from a guy who played six years is.
Danny Heifetz
It's tough.
Danny Kelly
Like I, I in the words of Mike Tomlin, like you know, Dookie Hauser must be a lot smarter than me.
Danny Heifetz
Right, right. Nate Borkature is who we're talking about here. They took Albert Regis who is a, a sawed off interior defensive lineman, run stuffing type of guy. I, I really did like Emmanuel pregnant saved there.
Danny Kelly
Well this is the same thing. If the Jaguars had taken Emmanuel pregnant in the second round and bore Kersher in the third round it would have been. No one would have had a word.
Danny Heifetz
I would probably be looking at this draft class like oh I get that that's solid, not certainly not last place but that this is kind of how we do this. And then the one, the funny thing is Tanner Cozio I I'm probably messing up how to say that that's name.
Danny Kelly
K O Z I O L How. How could you get that wrong?
Danny Heifetz
KO KO Anyway he the tight end out of Houston. He's an interesting one. He's like a pure pass catcher. So he definitely sort of complements Bor in the tight end world. He's, he's very high volume pass catcher so he'll be interesting one to watch as well.
Danny Kelly
Did. How did he have more than 38 catches in six years?
Danny Heifetz
He did. In fact I should look up how many had. But yeah he, he's like kind of a sleeper in fantasy I guess you could say.
Danny Kelly
Yeah, you could say that he had
Danny Heifetz
237 catches for 202,234 yards and 24 touchdowns in his college.
Danny Kelly
More than 200 more catches than the other two.
Danny Heifetz
He had 94 catches two years ago and 74 this last year. He was basically the number one guy in the off in the offense for his respect. He went to Ball State for four years and then Houston for his final year.
Craig Rolbeck
Well, that does it. That's the first inaugural draft. Draft.
Danny Kelly
Wow.
Danny Heifetz
We almost. We almost two hours.
Danny Kelly
Don't wait for the second round. With the second round is where we come out. We're like, it's. It get to have guest pickers and we draft GMs. Yeah.
Danny Heifetz
I just want to take this opportunity to thank.
Craig Rolbeck
We. We're going to draft the presenters during the NFL draft.
Danny Heifetz
Hell yeah.
Danny Kelly
Should we feed the people an email who stuck around or just end the show at a mercy?
Danny Heifetz
Oh, we gotta. We gotta little. We got to do a pallet cleanser.
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah, let's do one email and get out of here.
Danny Kelly
I. I'll do one topic but give you multiple small emails, which is a lot of people keep sending us great submissions. We're going to try to name a neighborhood and people trying to figure out what.
Danny Heifetz
What Name a neighborhood.
Danny Kelly
Name a neighborhood brand name. We're trying to name a neighborhood. So a lot of people are sending us funny suggestions.
Craig Rolbeck
You think you could name it Neighborhood?
Danny Heifetz
Sure.
Craig Rolbeck
Where do you live? I live in neighborhood. Which one? 1N. It's unfortunately it's called neighborhood. It's kind of funny.
Danny Heifetz
It's funnier that you said that.
Craig Rolbeck
It's like when Bo Burnham named his comedy special. What? What are you watching? What? There.
Danny Kelly
So who's on first? Michael emailed in. Sorry, I'm touching my face now because fat hair is all over my face. So Michael says, this feels incredibly obvious, but the name of your community should change twice a year. Once at the end of February and once at the beginning so that all the residents have to awkwardly explain it like you guys do when you change.
Danny Heifetz
We're trying to capture SEO for this neighborhood, guys, which.
Danny Kelly
There you go. And there you go. We're going to be back to ring your fantasy football show. The episode after this could be named regular fantasy football show. So don't touch that dial. We're going.
Danny Heifetz
Don't you touch that dial.
Danny Kelly
Nothing else.
Craig Rolbeck
Don't touch that dial.
Danny Kelly
Nothing else is changing. We got another suggestion from Ian, who wrote IBM, Breakfast is for children.
Danny Heifetz
Okay, I think that's fair.
Craig Rolbeck
All right.
Danny Kelly
You think that's fair? Breakfast is for children.
Danny Heifetz
As you know, I famously don't eat breakfast.
Danny Kelly
Starting your material.
Craig Rolbeck
The guy who eats a quesadilla every single day, it's like, yeah, that's childish.
Danny Kelly
He breaks his fast at lunchtime with a quesadilla for 12 straight.
Craig Rolbeck
What a childish move. Somebody having eggs in the morning.
Danny Heifetz
Look, at least I'm not eating, you know, like Dino nuggets or something, I guess. Yes, and Pop Tarts. That's Kai.
Danny Kelly
Ian says we have to name a street Cloudway.
Danny Heifetz
Cloudway.
Danny Kelly
And it's Cloudway because we had the trivia question, how much does a cloudway?
Danny Heifetz
So it's like W E I G
Danny Kelly
H. So it's like Cloudway. And that I think, is the best one I've heard of. That's a deep cut. But we do talk about that one a lot. And it actually could get approved.
Craig Rolbeck
Oh, that's easy.
Danny Kelly
That's easy money. And I think it's the neighborhood. So it's a development. So we could have the opportunity to name multiple roads. I think cloudways legit. And more importantly, you would live on Cloudway and wouldn't give a. It came from a fantasy football.
Danny Heifetz
It sounds like ephemeral. It sounds Happy place. It's like light. Just like a cloud that doesn't weigh anything.
Danny Kelly
They also said I. Well, neighborhood. They could. We could call it the Two Buildings, but that. That sounds like not a neighborhood. Sounds like a development. Ian said. And then I just was reading this email and he says, by the way, if you're interested, my dad claims he was the first person to drive a Ford Mustang.
Danny Heifetz
That is so specific. What the fuck a Ford? Did he. Was he, like a test driver?
Danny Kelly
Dude, I don't know. The story raises far more questions.
Craig Rolbeck
You know what's great about dads is I bet you he's told that to like a hundred people, dude.
Danny Kelly
So they.
Craig Rolbeck
Everybody probably knows that about him.
Danny Kelly
Sure. So there's a different guy who says he bought the first bus they make. Guy's famous. If you Google it, there's a lot that comes up, but this story is basically, it's about driving it, not buying it. And my dad swore there was this newspaper article somewhere, but he had lost it. Nobody believed him. One day, I don't know why, but the mayor of their city comes to his house, and apparently the mayor was may or may not have been elected via some may or may not allegedly potential ties to maybe the mafia, corruption. And the mayor whips out this newspaper article for the family with the dad driving the Mustang, and then he shakes the dad's hand and he thanks the dad for everything he's done. And then Ian writes, that's mildly concerning because apparently I descend from muscle car mafia royalty. But anyway, his dad.
Craig Rolbeck
There's a whole Netflix show in there.
Danny Kelly
There's a lot going on. But I just was reading this about the development. I'm just like, yeah, wow.
Danny Heifetz
Fascinating.
Danny Kelly
All right, keep emailing us. There's a lot of great emails coming in. We're gonna have to do a couple summer mailbags. I am still down to take your take purges. Some of the take purges have been phenomenal. I still love the ones we're getting that are excellent are also. I love people who've been emailing in about lifetime supply. Like you want a lifetime supply of great stories.
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah.
Danny Kelly
Seems to be fraudulent, but there's some funny stories.
Danny Heifetz
Yeah.
Danny Kelly
Spoiler. You don't really get a lifetime supply of anything. But keep emailing it if you know this. Those.
Danny Heifetz
It's like an insurance payment. This wasn't as much as that.
Craig Rolbeck
It's like when I won that car.
Danny Heifetz
Oh, it's a lease.
Danny Kelly
It is. And so specifically, I want to. If anyone has ever gone on the Wheel of.
Danny Heifetz
I have to pay taxes on this lifetime supply.
Danny Kelly
I'm being told if anyone's gone on Wheel of Fortune, I want to know what the Wheel of Fortune's like. That's that. That's the next thread we're going to unravel here.
Craig Rolbeck
Okay.
Danny Kelly
So thank you, dk. Thank you, Craig. Thank you to everyone emailing in. Keep emailing us in on all these prompts. And wait, there was one other prompt that's been really good recently. Oh, hiccups. I want your hiccup cures. I've been very.
Danny Heifetz
Listen, no, I'm gonna.
Danny Kelly
We're gonna have to do a mailbag. There's so many.
Danny Heifetz
Well, you're leaving the people on the lurch here. We are to get the hiccups.
Danny Kelly
Well, they'll have to wait. So keep the only hiccup cures. I'm very tickled by it. Thank you to Cam. Thank you to Boo. Thank you to Austin. Thank you to Carlos. Thank you to everyone for listening. But of course. Thank you, Lord, Lord.
Danny Heifetz
Thank you, Billie Eilish.
Craig Rolbeck
Her new documentary is coming out. Are you gonna go see that in theaters?
Danny Heifetz
Very likely not.
Craig Rolbeck
It's directed by James Cameron.
Danny Heifetz
Wow.
Danny Kelly
What?
Danny Heifetz
Okay, maybe.
Danny Kelly
How did that happen?
Craig Rolbeck
He's friends with her mom.
Danny Heifetz
He's just doing that happen because they're both.
Craig Rolbeck
They're into, like, sustainable farming.
Danny Heifetz
Of course.
Danny Kelly
What?
Danny Heifetz
Yeah. So he just does Avatar and The Billy Eilish documentary.
Craig Rolbeck
He like invented, of course, he like invented some new camera. He came to Cinemacon and came out with Billie Eilish to talk about. About how he filmed this documentary in the coolest way ever. And then they showed footage and it kind of looked like every other musical documentary. But maybe it'll be awesome in the theater, but. And it's 3D. You know what's funny is 3D. Yeah, it's 3D. Of course. It's James Cameron, dude. He fucking loves 3D.
Danny Heifetz
Can I ask a question?
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah.
Danny Heifetz
What happened with 3D? I feel like that was a thing for a while. You get it, you go to the theater, you get the glasses.
Craig Rolbeck
It never really took over.
Danny Heifetz
It's like. And now you don't really hear about it other than Avatar.
Craig Rolbeck
It really. Only James Cameron. And it's cool. Like when you see avatar in 3D, it is cool.
Danny Heifetz
I saw one of the Harry potter movies in 3D.
Danny Kelly
That's a great call. DK. I saw the second Avatar theaters, I won't lie. Brought a tear to my eye.
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah.
Danny Kelly
And then I haven't thought about 3D ever since.
Danny Heifetz
It's kind of cool. I. I don't really get why it doesn't happen anymore. It's like obviously more of a pain in the ass to film, I guess.
Craig Rolbeck
I think it's hard to do. Like, I think James Cameron is really good at pulling it off and is really interested in it. And I don't know know if like, the upside is worth the pain in the ass of doing it.
Danny Heifetz
Didn't they do one of the Star wars remakes in 3D?
Craig Rolbeck
Sometimes they have like 3D versions.
Danny Kelly
Like, here's my question. How do you film it? Because you know what's funny? Every 3D movie you ever seen, you have to put. Give the glasses back. You'd think that if 3D was doable, they put it on. It's an iPhone. Filter on Snapchat or something. And you could. Instead of buying smart glasses, you could have dumb 3D glasses. And imagine if you could send 3D videos to your friends. But I guess you can't because they would have done that.
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah, you have to wear something on your eyes for it to feel like it's coming out of the.
Danny Kelly
You could just keep those shitty little red and blue things. You're like, what does that cost, like a dollar?
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah, but you just.
Danny Heifetz
What could it cost a dollar, Michael?
Danny Kelly
I don't know. They give it to you for free.
Craig Rolbeck
There has to be a reason why no one does that. I don't know what it is. I'm not smart enough to know that.
Danny Kelly
So Android users get email in and be like, you've been able to do that on Android for 10 years and be like, oh, okay, not going to to get one, but thanks.
Craig Rolbeck
The funny thing about James Cameron was when we were at Cinemacon, they give out free waters, like just water bottles before you go in. And the only time that they were like typical plastic water bottles, like whatever Arrowhead or Aquafina or Dasani or something. But then one day for one of the presentations you sit down and it's all aluminum bottles. And I was like, why, what's going on here? Why they like randomly switch? Did I say this story in the podcast?
Danny Kelly
No.
Craig Rolbeck
And then Matt Bell leans over to me and he goes, that means James Cameron is near. He does not allow plastic water bottles in any room he's in.
Danny Heifetz
Oh, cuz they're the aluminum are recyclable.
Craig Rolbeck
Correct.
Danny Heifetz
Oh, that's cool.
Danny Kelly
Which by the way, we don't recycle aluminum either. But I like the sentiment.
Danny Heifetz
I'm feeling aluminum is a lot easier to recycle than plastic.
Craig Rolbeck
Yeah, I, I can't confirm they were aluminum, but they were not plastic bottles.
Danny Kelly
I actually. This is so random. Oh no, I left it downstairs. I had an aluminum, aluminum, plastic. A bottle I bought in the airport coming back from la. I bought an aluminum Aquafina bottle and I had it on my desk and I didn't. I just left it downstairs.
Danny Heifetz
Can you imagine saying aluminum every time you had to say aluminum?
Danny Kelly
Dude, they got some dumb ones with oregano. That's ridiculous. Oh, by the way, that was. We did get. Oh, we got an email about you saying Jeremy.
Danny Heifetz
Oh yeah. Was it from Jeremy that. And it said I was wrong.
Danny Kelly
We got some Jeremy's that said you were right. I Much more. Jeremy said you were wrong. But the most important, some of them
Danny Heifetz
said I was right.
Craig Rolbeck
Liz agrees with you. Dk which I was shocked.
Danny Kelly
Okay, so this is. This is now cooking. No, this is the core of it. Someone, a linguist. Actually I should just pull up the email. Someone pointed out. Oh no, that dk, what state is below? Washington.
Danny Heifetz
Oregon.
Danny Kelly
Say it again.
Danny Heifetz
Oregon. It's not Oregon. No one says not Oregon.
Danny Kelly
But here's the thing. Oregon. Oregon.
Danny Heifetz
Because you're right. Wrong. And you say what two syllables you say organ. Yeah. People who live in organs.
Craig Rolbeck
Like your kidney. Like a kidney.
Danny Heifetz
Yes.
Danny Kelly
So the Jeremy thing that we discovered, someone pointed out it. It is underneath the umbrella of. There is a regional dialect to the Pacific Northwest or even the entire West.
Danny Heifetz
You East Coasters say it all funky. It's like how you say tournament.
Danny Kelly
What do you say?
Danny Heifetz
Tournament.
Craig Rolbeck
Tournament. Yeah.
Danny Kelly
Yeah, that's. You know, what are you.
Danny Heifetz
Tournament. A tournament. You're like, hanging up on syllables.
Danny Kelly
What's fishing bait called? The Little Hut.
Danny Heifetz
Hook a worm with an L. Fishing bait.
Danny Kelly
Oh, no, sorry. It's a lure.
Danny Heifetz
Oh, lure.
Danny Kelly
I. I got that wrong. I. I meant the tour. How do you. I meant tour. Tour in, like, Chicago. Rhymes. Lure. It's like.
Danny Heifetz
How do you say it? Tour. Tour.
Danny Kelly
Like t O R. It's like how
Danny Heifetz
people in the south call oil.
Danny Kelly
Oil.
Danny Heifetz
Get some oil.
Danny Kelly
But the Jeremy thing, it's not like a disagreement. It's like, literally, like where you're from. Yeah, it is a regional D Violet. But I didn't know the Oregon thing. I say ori when you're like, Oregon, it's like. But in these coats, it's Oregon or Oregon, but you say the wreck. It's like three syllables.
Craig Rolbeck
I say. I say three syllables. Oregon.
Danny Heifetz
What? Your brother went there. What does he say? Craig.
Craig Rolbeck
I'll have to get him on. Yeah, I'll have him send a voicemail. I could be wrong.
Danny Heifetz
I'm projecting how people in Oregon say it. Maybe they say it differently than me. I don't know. But everyone I've ever talked to says Oregon organ. Like the Oregon organ. Like. Like internal organs.
Craig Rolbeck
Well, this has been scintillating.
Danny Kelly
Yes.
Danny Heifetz
You know, maybe we should just let people say things how they want to say things. I don't know.
Craig Rolbeck
I gotta. We gotta get Jeremy on the pod. My guy, Jeremy.
Danny Kelly
Don't ask him one football question.
Craig Rolbeck
The germ.
Danny Kelly
