Mary Walter
Yes, you are listening to the Rob Carson Show. All right, just gonna get to. I got a lot of news to get to and we have a special secret guest. I don't even know who it is. Coming up at the bottom of the hour. Normally when I'm at the bottom of the hour and Rob is sitting in the seat, but I'm sitting in the seat. So who could it possibly be at.
Rob Carson
The bottom of the hour?
Mary Walter
It's very exciting. All right, so some things you can expect in 2026, tax wise, if you use your car for work, you will be able to deduct more money per mile on your taxes in the new year. That's a good thing. The IRS announced this week that the standard mileage rate for business driving will increase by two and a half cents a mile. Vehicles used for medical purposes will decrease by half a cent. And they said that reflects the updated cost data and annual inflation adjustments. So starting January 1st, the standard mileage rates for the use of a car, van, pickup or panel truck will be 72.5 cents per mile driven for business use, 20 and a half cents per mile driven for medical purposes, and 20 and a half cents per mile driven for moving purposes for certain active duty members of the armed forces and certain members of the intel community. But the rate per mile driven in service of charitable organizations will remain the same at 14 cents. Ah, poor charities don't know what's going on there. Seems like the charities are getting short shrift. But, you know, what do I know? So let's go to something that happened. You know, again, this just goes to the fecklessness of the Republicans. Can you get cut four ready, Brian? Cut four. New Year's Eve, New Year's Eve, December 31st. Republicans release something now. I think they did it on the 31st. Well, I honestly, I don't know why they do have this stuff. They do. Democrats always make a big splash with stuff, and they make it something that it really isn't. And so Republicans just, you know, are like, oh, we got it ready, might as well release it. You're like, it's a Friday of a holiday weekend. It's probably not a good time to release it. No one's going to pay attention. But they do it anyway. So they released this on New Year's Eve, and this was the Jack Smith hearing. They released the transcript and the video of him being questioned. I'm not a lawyer now. I did not watch this entire thing because I figured it's just going to depress me and I really don't need to go into 2026, you know, kicking rocks, going Republicans. But he denied dual prosecutions against Trump for political purposes, according to Axios. He said, I entirely disagree with any characterization that our work was in any way meant to hamper him in the presidential election. Now, I have not seen video, I have not seen cuts come out of anyone asking him, why did someone from your meet with someone in the White House on several occasions when you were prosecuting President Trump? I didn't see any video about that. So people who have far more time on their hands and a lot more time and do this, you know, kind of for a living. They posted all over X. Those suspects have not posted really anything from this. And that's probably why, because my hunch is, is the Republicans didn't ask a lot of good questions, at least not questions that we want answered. And so even though I'm not a lawyer, I'm going to criticize them. All right, so here we go. This is, this is the one cut that I will tell you where he talks about. Listen to what he says about President Trump's First Amendment rights. Here's Jack Smith.
Mike
The president's statements that he believed the election was rife with fraud. Those certainly are statements that are protected by the First Amendment, correct?
Jack Smith
Absolutely not. If they are made to target a lawful government function, and they are made with knowing falsity. No, they're not. That was my point about fraud not being protected by the First Amendment.
Mike
I mean, there's a long list of disputed elections. I mean, the election of 1800, 1960 year, 2000, where candidates believe they were wronged by the, you know, because they lost. And there's a long history of candidates speaking out about they believe there's been fraud. There's been other problems with the integrity of the election process. And I think you would agree that those types of statements are sort of at the core of the First Amendment rights of a presidential candidate, Right?
Jack Smith
There is no historical analog for what President Trump did in this case. As we said in the indictment, he was free to say that he thought he won the election. He was even free to say, falsely that he won the election. But what he was not free to do was violate federal law and use knowingly false statements about election fraud to target a lawful government function that he was not allowed to do. And that differentiates this case from any, any past history.
Mary Walter
So. All right, with the shuffling of the papers, that guy. With the shuffling of the papers, the. The lawyer, like, dude, how do you not own a sticky, sticky pad that you could just, like, put, like, little tabs on there? Excuse me. So what he said is like, well, no, he doesn't have the right to say certain things, but what's interesting is that congressmen and women can flat out lie to us if they're on the floor of Congress. They can absolutely flat out lie. There is no penalty for that. None. Excuse me, I just took a drink. But Trump questioning the outcome of election and saying that he felt that this was wrong, he's not allowed to express his personal beliefs. That is a violation of the First Amendment. And Jack Smith did say that he would pursue charges again against the president again, if he's given a chance to do so. There's something wrong with the brains. There's something wrong with their brains. But there's something wrong with the Republicans, too, because they just released this stuff, you know, on New Year's Eve when nobody's paying any attention to it. He was also asked about the testimony of Cassidy Hutchinson. Remember her? She was a former White House aide, and she was the one who said that, you know, Donald Trump, I think, was like, 72 at the time, and that he lunged from the back seat of the beast through the, you know, the glass between him and the driver and overpowered his own secret service person, guard, who was sitting there with him. And he grabbed the steering wheel, like over the driver and grabbed the steering wheel, was trying to steer the beast back to wherever he wanted, back to the. The protests or the Capitol or whatever. And we all knew it was a bunch of hooey, but they still, you know, paraded her out there for show to have her jump through the hoops and, you know, the dog and pony thing going on and, you know, put on the tutu and, you know, stand on her hind legs and perform. And it turns out that he said that her testimony was based on hearsay and it was inadmissible in court.
Hailey
I.
Mary Walter
She made the claim before an ad hoc House select committee, and they were mostly Democrats chosen by Nancy Pelosi. Her account was not corroborated by anybody else, but it was front and center on every news channel in the country. And they did it purposely. It's going to be like, like I was discussing with Tony, it's going to be like this January 6th, redo the celebration, the fed direction part two. You know, we're going to talk about all the men and women who were killed, the hundreds of men and women, law enforcement who were killed on, on January 6th. And they're gonna, you know, do what they do best. I think, you know what I think we should do? I think we should do like an over under some kind of poll as to if Adam Kinzinger cries. And if so, how many times does Adam Kinzinger cry? If you watch 90 Day Fiance, Jasmine on 90 Day Fiance of Jasmine and Gino, she cries all the time. I think Adam Kinzinger cries more than Jasmine from 90 Day Fiance. I really do. So maybe we could have like an over under on that just to see. You know, I guarantee you he's gonna cry. Mark my words, I won't be with you. Rob will be with you. But mark my words, Adam Kinzinger will. Will cry. When it comes to this, as I think I. It's my own personal thing. All right? Also, there's some guidance on the no tax for tips and the overtime deductions. Wanting to know about that, people are like, what happened to no tax on tips? Well, a lot of this stuff doesn't take effect until the One Big Beautiful bill kicks in, which is 2026. So the IRS has released their guidance for the no tax on tips and no tax on overtime provisions of the One Big Beautiful Bill act, also known as Oba ba ba ba ba. The IRS noticed that taxpayers who are eligible to claim the tipped and overtime income deductions, you may have to determine those amounts separately this year because form W2, the W2 and the 1099, they didn't have time to update them in the last year because, you know, busy. So they didn't have time to do that, which is insane to me. Like, how hard is it to, you know, just pull it up on the old computer, change a couple of things and print new ones out? But I guess it's above their pay scale. I don't know. It won't. So it won't be updated to include income from tips and overtime for the 2025 tax year. Under the OH, workers who receive qualified tips deduct up to annually a max of 25 grand. And the deduction phases out for taxpayers with a modified adjusted adjusted gross income over 150,000 or 300,000 for joint follower filers. I love that they actually doubled it because a lot of times you see what if you. It's the deduction is this much is allowed for single filer, but for double filers, it's not double the amount of deduction allowed. Jerry. That. I'm like, why? Why is that? Why do they do that? That just hardly seems fair. Let's see. The IRS estimates there's about 6 million workers who report tipped wages. And the tipped income deduction is in effect for 25, 2025 to 2028. And then it's going to be up to the Democrats, if they're in power, to then get rid of it and say, no, we're not going to let you deduct that anymore. We're going to raise your taxes. And then they'll blame Republicans for not making it permanent and making it only temporary. I don't know why they didn't make it permanent, but they didn't. It is what it is. All right. The no tax on overtime provision allows individuals who receive eligible overtime compensation to deduct the pay that exceeds their regular pay that's reported on their W2, 1099 or other specified statement provided. The maximum annual deduction $12,500 or $25,000 for joint follower filers. The deduction phases out for taxpayers with a modified adjusted gross income over 115,000 or 300,000 for joint filers. So there you go. So you're gonna be able to do it. The IRS says they're in the process of updating tax income tax forms and instructions. So let me ask you, do you think that, like, stuff like that when people are doing their taxes in March and April, and you're getting it. Either you're paying someone to do it for you, or you're doing it. Do you think that will change people's perception of Trump? Do you think that once this starts and people's perception of the economy, you know, the left is banging the drum, that nothing's affordable, that it's, you know, it's affordability and everything's so expensive under Trump, the economy's terrible. And because they're trying to get them to change for 2026, right, they want the vote. People who voted for Trump to say, oh, my gosh, he delivered a terrible economy and switch and vote Democrat in 2026. But do you think something, something like this changes that ensures up votes for Republicans in the midterms? 8009-2266-8080-0922-6680. Would I launch strikes in Mexico to stop drugs?
Mary Walter
It's okay with me. Boom, boom, boom, boom. Bang, bang, bang, bang. Boom, boom, boom, boom. See, now I like this. This isn't terrible. Rob's taste in music isn't all awful. I mean, there are some redeeming, some of the redeeming bumpers here, right? Every now and then, it just takes Brian a while to work his way through them all, I guess, to get to some of the good ones. Or he's just doing that for me, which I do appreciate. Coming up, a surprise guest. I'm so excited. Maybe it's Santa, Santa telling us, you know, hey, kicking his heels back, got a couple of naps. He's, he's recharged and all ready for next. So we were talking about Zoram Mandani earlier with Tony Kennett. And listen to this. This is what they do. This is, this is how they operate. And the fact that so many people can't see it, are too stupid or just don't want to see it, and I think it's the latter. They just don't want to hear it. They don't want to know. The mayor of San Francisco, of course, you know, big lefties, right, signed an ordinance that creates a reparations fund. And that fund could grant each of the city's eligible black residents up to 5, $5 million in reparations for alleged historic discrimination and displacement. So people who never had slaves are going to pay people who were never were slaves. That's, that's where we are here. And so these, this ordinance was passed by the Board of Supervisors earlier, earlier December, and it was signed by the mayor, Daniel Laurie, Democrat, of course, two days before Christmas. And what it does is it establishes a legal framework for the fund, but it doesn't allot any funds or guarantee any payments. So what this is, is it's just again, a dog and pony show. The left loves bread and circuses. That's what they love. They don't really deliver anything, but they keep the left entertained and riveted on them by giving them hopes, filling them with hopes. Remember hopes? Who was that? Was that Obama? Hope, hope and change. We give him hope for change. We're gonna give you the hope of getting $5 million based on the color of your skin. And you know, and then you gotta. There's a lot that has to be worked out. What about people who are, who are black but were related to, you know, the tribes that sold their fellow Africans into slavery? You know, that's a sticky wicket right there. And then you got the people who were white who, who have ancestors who were held as slaves in this country home, and some of them were held by owner. So things get a little complicated. So this is all a show. That's all it is. There is no money allocated for this. There's no source of funding associated with this. But the seals are going to stand there and go, yay. And the white people, you know, the white women, the white liberal women, if we could stop them somehow, like if we could run them all up and put them on an island just for a couple of years, things would straighten themselves out post haste. In this country, any taxpayer funded reparations payouts would require separate legislation. And Laurie said that no taxpayer money would be paid into the potential pot. So no taxpayer money. So Especially because they have a billion dollar budget deficit. But they, they. This was just bread and circuses. He said. I was elected to drive San Francisco's recovery and that's what I'm focused on every day. We are not allocating money to this fund with a historic 1 billion DOL budget deficit. We are going to spend our money on making the city safer and cleaner. But I signed it anyway. The reparations plan outlines a variety of methods to provide restitution, compensation and rehabilitation to individuals who are black and or descendants of a chattel enslaved person and have experienced a proven harm in San Francisco. All of a sudden everybody's going to be doing the 23andMe thing, right? To find out who they're related to. The ordinance specified specifically cites a 2023 policy report and recommendation document produced by the San Francisco African American Reparations Advisory Committee, also known as a RAC or a rack, a city appointed advisory committee. The report, which is non binding so none of this matters, studies harms to black residents and proposed remedies including a recommendation of a $5 million payments. Okay. Around 46,000 black residents live in San Francisco, according to the US Census. It argued that black San Franciscans are victims of decades of city driven residential displacement and racial discrimination, particularly during the urban renewal era, the period from the mid-1940s through the 1970s before San Francisco became a crap hole. All of that gentrification, that horrific gentrification and what do they got for it? All right, coming up, a surprise guest. Never gonna guess who it is. I can't wait to find out who it is because I don't know either. So that's next on the Rob Carson Show.
Carson

Mary Walter
Oh, boy. This better be a big guess. This is a big intro. I expect a football team from Virginia Tech to come running into the studio. Who is our. Would our mystery guests like to sign in, please?
Rob Carson
Yeah, man, whoever shows that bumper music knows what the hell they're doing. I mean, the best bumper music in America. A lot of hard rock, little hip hop and whatnot. That's my kind of bumper music.
Mary Walter
Wow. You know, I gotta tell you, I. When I heard what the bumper music was, I said, oh, did. Did our mystery guest make you choose that? He goes. No, he goes. But I know his ego.
Rob Carson
Well, Unlike Zorad Mandani, I have testosterone still coursing through my veins.
Mary Walter
Or that's what. That's what you tell yourself.
Rob Carson
Well, whatever, you know, I could. You call it compensation, whatever. I'll just take it.
Mary Walter
How are you, my friend? I'm so glad I get to talk to you. How are you?
Rob Carson
You know, really, really good. Mary, this is the first time in my entire broadcast career where I've taken two weeks off voluntarily. I'll just throw that in there. I took a couple years off involuntarily, but two weeks off and you're gonna. You're gonna think I'm nuts. I drove all together about between 35 and 40 hours and enjoyed every second of it. Listen to a lot of music, listen to some podcasts. It was. It was really. It was cool. My GPS got me kind of off. Off the beaten track in West Virginia in the mountains of the snowstorm. That was fun.
Mary Walter
So we did not plan for the weather.
Rob Carson
Well, no, I don't mind snow and whatnot. You know, I'm Midwesterner. When it snows a foot, you go bowling.
Mary Walter
Okay. All right.
Rob Carson
I was just. I was just watching all these people with their lights flashing and freaking out, and I just scooting right by them. It's like, well, we got a couple inches of snow. Who cares?
Mary Walter
You're that guy. I remember when I used to have to drive across the state to work and, and then back and there'd be snow and everything. Every car that was off the road in the center median, like there was a big center median or off to the side was an SUV because they felt that they could.
Rob Carson
I, I am very careful about how I drive. Very deliberate. I keep my distance. I'm not, not that guy who drives like a complete moron. I just know how to drive in it. I just know how to drive in it.
Mary Walter
Right.
Rob Carson
And you know, I don't try to rub it in anybody's face, but honestly, I don't get too. In Washington D.C. i don't even know this. If it snows an inch, it's like Godzilla attacking Tokyo. Get over yourself.
Mary Walter
I live, I live there. And they close down even the stores if there's an inch of snow. Restaurants, stores, everything is, is closed down. It's, it's unbelievable. I had, I was doing a morning show and my co host at the time was a real gentleman because he was from Texas and he had this huge suv and so I text him like, like, is it, is it bad? You know, he goes, he goes, yeah, he goes, it's really bad out there. You should walk. I'm like, okay. So he didn't come pick me up in his big, his big truck. I walked. There was like two inches of snow.
Rob Carson
You know, Uber drivers who know how to drive in this, who have four wheel drives, they should like, do you know that, that pricing, they do call it like Armageddon pricing where you charge four times as much because you're going to drive in an inch of snow. And people in D.C. would say, Worth it. It's worth it, you know.
Mary Walter
All right, so what have you been doing? Tell, I know you're going to tell everyone for like the next week and a half everything that you did while you were gone for two weeks. So tell us, what have you been up to?
Rob Carson
It was, it was, it was interesting. I, I went back to the house for the first time, you know, as a divorced man.
Mary Walter
The scene of the crime, as we like to, we refer to it as the scene of the crime.
Rob Carson
Yes. And so my son one night suggested that I stay in the house with my now ex wife and we could watch a movie and, and I thought, okay, we could try this, we could try this. Let me give you an idea what her reaction was as the evening began. Have you ever seen a cat thrown in a swimming pool very much like that?
Mary Walter
No.
Rob Carson
It's like that yeah, very much like that. Yeah, it was. It was. It was like I just said, you know, I'm gonna go ahead and pack up my stuff, and I'm gonna head back to the hotel.
Mary Walter
You wouldn't. You ever. Why. Why would that. I can understand why that just wasn't a good idea based on what you've told everyone publicly about what happened in your mar. And during your divorce, which I'm sure she. She loved that, but. So I can only imagine about it.
Rob Carson
I haven't said much about my divorce. The only thing that I've said. It was kind of odd that she asked for a divorce the day after the election day and announced that she was moving out on inauguration day. Other than that, I haven't really said much. You figure it out.
Mary Walter
Yeah. So. So again, I. Probably staying at a hotel was the best thing to do, just, you know, to keep the peace. That's probably the best thing. So I've been. I've been waiting. Where are all. Where's all the stuff that you cooked and you. And you baked while you were. You know, by taking two weeks off and the horrific choices in. In decorating that you made while. While you were gone?
Rob Carson
I. I actually ended up bringing my smoker back with me because I've been without my smoker. I'm a barbecue aficionado trained in the Church of Barbecue, Kansas City, Missouri. And so I brought my. My smoker back. I made smoked salmon for the family. I made homemade Mac and cheese, cornbread salmon, smoked salmon, pasta, fettuccine.
Mary Walter
I saw that you sent me that picture. You sent me that picture.
Rob Carson
Well, of course, you know that I don't feel suit. I just send food porn. I don't send a. So that. That really felt good because, you know, I'm. I'm like your. Your typical kind of Catholic upbringing. My mother and. And now me cook very well for eight, but not very well for one or two.
Mary Walter
Right, right.
Rob Carson
I really enjoyed that.
Mary Walter
You're great. You're great. If, like, the 101st Airborne's coming over for dinner, you can whip that up.
Rob Carson
Yeah.
Mary Walter
Yes. Yes.
Rob Carson
That's. That's exactly how I am. So it was nice to cook with. It was fun. The dogs hadn't seen me in five months, and it was like returning from a deployment.
Mary Walter
Yeah. That's nice.
Rob Carson
I mean, the kids. It's like, oh, Dad's home. Dogs. Oh, my God, he's. Oh, my God, he's home. It really. That actually meant quite a bit to know at least. At least some living beings in the House were glad to see me.
Mary Walter
Yeah, no, that's. That. That is nice. So let me. So what else did you do? I mean, what else did you do besides you. You went back to Kansas, right? And let me ask you, did you kind of miss the calmness of Kansas just a little bit?
Rob Carson
No. Not one little bit. No, no, no, no. You know, one of the, One of the great thing about it, on a slightly serious note, the last two years have been insane. You know, been sober for four years, made up for all of. Hopefully try to make up for all the sins of the past, devote myself to my family, my wife and all this. And it backfired. They ended up divorcing and all of this. And the last two years has been hell. And when I moved to Washington D.C. when you, when you live by yourself, sometimes you dwell on the negative. Sometimes you. You focus on the anger and the resentment to some degree. And I went back to the house that I called home, that I spent a lot of sweat equity and a lot of money, and I was able to let it go. That and the resentment and the anger over all of the stuff. And that really meant a lot, Mary, because I did everything I could to try to save and keep the family together. It's very disappointing. I wanted to have a, you know, grandkids be able to come to our house, not my house, you know, and. But I was able to leave that behind. And that's why I think the time was. Was incredibly well spent as far as Kansas and Kansas City are concerned. They had their time and I'm done with them. As long as I lived in Kansas City, I longed to be back in the D.C. area because I love the history. I love that we're close to mountains, I love that we're close to ocean. Certainly you cannot get a crab cake in Kansas City, but, you know, Kansas City served a time. I was able to be home for the death of my mother, for the death of her mother, get my kids in good schools, not woke schools in Montgomery County, Maryland. And that was very, very important. My son went to Kansas University of Kansas, graduated in 2022 when they won the national championship, got a degree in economics, and my daughter is in art school. And so Kansas and Kansas City served its purpose, to return to the Midwest. But this has just been so energizing to live out here. And my listeners and your listeners here, we went through this journey together. The last five years of persecution, our free speech taken from us, our rights taken from us, abuses and usurpations that the. The founders only dreamed of the prosecution of Donald Trump, the attempted assassination of Donald Trump. And, and then I find, you know, I come to the inauguration and my, the guy who owns wgmd, one of our, our affiliates, says, hey man, I've got a TV and radio studio in my building and you can have it.
Mary Walter
Yeah.
Rob Carson
And I, and I, you know, I was thinking about maybe to go into Florida, living near Mar A Lago, where Newsmax is or whatever, and then it hit me. And actually I think fate guided me here and, and I'm able to bring my listeners and my viewers with me here. And the word is beginning to scratch the surface about what we're going to be able to do, bringing actual Comedy to Washington D.C. all of the other talk shows, all of the other TV shows are based in New York or LA or whatever. And I'm the only person here in Washington D.C. and bringing with it my experience as not only a talk show host, but an entertainer. And well, I, for that, I don't, I was able, I was able to close some chapters in my life and begin. Yeah, good.
Mary Walter
Well, I'm gonna close this, this part of the conversation because you know, the clock and you should know we're past the time to break and Brian told, literally text me, he said when he takes a break, when he takes a breath, we have to break. So.
Rob Carson
Well, now you know what it's like when I have you on my show.
Mary Walter
Oh, I respect the clock because I look at the time. Don't you even go there us, Brian. I respect the clock because it's not my show. So I try to do it the right way. All right, we've got more with Rob Carson. He took a break. Quick, let's go. There's more in the Rob Carson show coming up. See when you get to the bridge, when you get to the hook here, it's actually good. Mandy's excellent. So I have to tell you a story about this. Ready? Oh, this isn't the hook. Okay. All right, so thank you, Rob. I do appreciate the, that intro just because I don't have the musical tastes of a 13 year old pubescent boy. So funny, funny story about the song Mandy.
Rob Carson
Yes. What?
Mary Walter
A couple, couple years ago, we're sitting on the beach and you don't. It's not like the old days. It's not like, you know, back in the day when we were little kids and everybody had the radio and everybody was listening to the same. Because here in New Jersey was ABC, you know, 77, WABC, you know that that was the Big thing there. We listened to. And ever. So you hear the same song as you walked along the beach from blanket to blanket. It's not like that anymore because everybody has earbuds and all that stuff.
Mike
Yes.
Mary Walter
We, we just hear some man just belting out the, the, the chorus to Mandy. Right. And it's a Steve voice. And I turn around and there is this very large black man sitting in his beach chair with the, just banging out the words to Mandy. And he's doing it because. And I love this. His tuna, who's two teenage children, were horrified. Horrified. Right.
Mike
Yes.
Mary Walter
So, so we're, we just start laughing. We just start cracking up. So his wife joins in. Right. So then a bunch. So we all, we're all singing Mandy on the Beach. And this kids just finally just gave up and started singing too. It was hilarious. It was the funnest moment ever.
Rob Carson
I, I, that was one of the things. I saw some viral videos of dads showing up to pick up their kids from school wearing Buddy the Elf outfit.
Mary Walter
Yes.
Rob Carson
And I missed that.
Mary Walter
Yes. Oh, I'm sure you mortified your children.
Rob Carson
Oh, I did a few times. Yes. Yes.
Mary Walter
And you were not even intentionally.
Rob Carson
Well, no, just me showing up, period, and then having to acknowledge I'm their father. That's, that's bad enough.
Mary Walter
Yeah. That was not a thing. When we were kids, our dads were really like, you know, by the book. At least my dad was. He was an immigrant. You know how that is. It's a little bit more. He was born here, but from school.
Rob Carson
My dad would never pick me up from school.
Mary Walter
We had a. What we. This thing called walking.
Rob Carson
Oh, yes.
Mary Walter
Now, now kids can't walk to school. I was walking in second grade when we moved into town. I walked from second grade to six. And then we lived too far away and I had to take the bus, but we walked to the bus stop. My parents didn't drive us to school. We walked to the bus stop. And the only way we got a ride to the bus stop, which, like, half a block, it wasn't that far. The only way we got a ride so we could sit in the car is if it was absolutely miserable. That was it. Otherwise, my mother's like, put your raincoat on. You know, the door, you.
Rob Carson
Well, I, I drove my kids to and from school from first grade through senior in high school. I know I'm, I'm pathetic, but, But I actually enjoyed it. And I was also desperate for any kind of attention I could possibly get.
Mary Walter
No, that's shocking. So let me tell you looking ahead? Well, stories that are out now that you're not, you're probably dying to comment on. What do you me, because this is going to happen while you're back in the seat. We're going to have the anniversary of the Fed direction. They're bringing back, they're getting the gang back together. They're getting the January 6th. The committee, you know, the Congressional committee made of all Democrats and, and Adam Kinzinger and Liz, Elizabeth, I almost said Warren, but Liz Cheney.
Rob Carson
Yeah.
Mary Walter
And they're going to, you know, have a big bread in circuses and it's going to be a, a big thing. Would you expect that? How do you expect that to be received?
Rob Carson
I don't think anybody's going to pay attention to it because why in the hell would you revisit a failure? It was an absolute failure. Why don't you just go ahead and do the, the investigation of Russia collusion again? You know, why don't we go ahead and, and revisit whatever failure. The explosion of the space shuttle, you know, Challenger, honestly, how stupid is this? It accomplished nothing. The, it was, it was a, it turned out it was a joke. There were no charges filed. There was nothing found to be that was unsavory or illegal by the President. What is the bloody point? What is the bloody point? Unless you're still trying to convince people that something happened that didn't happen. I consider this to be, what a colossal waste of time. Some of the mainstream media will cover it. Maybe CBS this time won't cover it as much because of Barry Weiss. But it is utterly, utterly pointless when nothing came out of it at all. So why, why revit? Why rekindle a fire that's been put out?
Mary Walter
How many times do you think Adam Kinzingo will cry, oh my God, if.
Rob Carson
It'S a drinking game, die in the first half hour.
Mary Walter
It's going to be amazing. By the way, before I leave, I'm redoing all of your bumper music for you.
Rob Carson
That's right. I've got my playlist on ipod, my Spotify playlist.
Mary Walter
I really listen.
Rob Carson
Do you really erase what you, what you put there?
Mary Walter
But do you really honestly listen to that stuff like that, that head banging music that from like.
Rob Carson
I have 25 years of music radio experience. I have extensive knowledge in everything from big band to Dixieland jazz to classical music, hip hop to metal. If you, if you saw my Spotify playlist, you would see artists on there and you'd go, are you kidding me? Because I listen to it like I listen to a lot of standards. There's this wonderful new artist named Lafi. Her name is lafy L A U F E Y and she is absolutely brilliant. And she sings songs that have kind of a bossa nova standard sound to them. So I listen to, I listen to everything. I like harder music on the show because I want to, I want to have the show moving forward and to, I want, want to have a slightly masculine tone to it because I'm a guy.
Mary Walter
All right, all right, all right. Well, on that note, because you're a guy, I'm saying goodbye to you.
Rob Carson
First time.
Mary Walter
Here you go. So nice to meet you. I'm not calling Rob Carson. Thanks for joining us. You'll he's back on Monday and I'm sure he has a lot more to tell you about his trials and travails and his experiences during his two weeks off. Well deserved. I think you really needed some time off.
Rob Carson
Thank you very much for doing this. I always am so privileged and pleased to have you do this, Mary. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Mary Walter
Well, and I'm honored to sit in the seat. Thank you. All right, Rob, Have a great weekend.
Rob Carson
You do.
Mary Walter
All right. You can catch more of Rob on Monday on his show, the Rob Carson Show. See, I could listen to this. This is good. I'm Mary Walter. Now that we got rid of that secret guest, you can get on with the show, Right? Coming up next hour, Christian Toto will be joining us. I've got a couple things to talk to him about. Hey. One thing that they had released while no one was looking was the Covenant School shooter. Remember Audrey Hale, transgender woman who identified as a man. I did not realize she was 28 years old when she went into the Covenant School and killed three students and three adults. But they released some transcripts, they released some of her diary. Talk about that. Tell you about that when we come back here on the other side of the top of the hour. Also, we got to talk about some of the fraud we haven't gotten to there yet. There's so much to get to on the Rob Carson Show.

It’s an episode as pointed as it is personal, always with a wry smile around the edges.
