Four Artemis 2 astronauts made history yesterday with their Orion spacecraft swinging behind the moon, taking them farther from earth than any humans have ever traveled. The crew was taking pictures and video. They also conducted what scientists call the most critical part of their mission mission, which was just describing their own observations of the surface of the moon. The crew's busy day continued with another first for humans. Orion aligned with the sun and the moon, putting the crew inside a total solar eclipse. It was a big day. Big day yesterday. Tonight is President Trump's deadline for Iran to reopen the strait of Hormuz, 7pm our time. So Iran rejected a 45 day cease fire proposal. They were circulating through some mediators last night and they sent back a 10 point counteroffer. They demanded a permanent end to the war. Trump acknowledged that latest offer with Iran as a significant step, but said it was not good enough. 33% of American young adults still live with their parents.

It's their first national title in basketball since 1989. In the the NBA, the Rockets are going to be back in action tonight. They'll play the Suns out in Phoenix. They're one and a half point underdogs coming into this one tip off will be at 10 o' clock and you can hear it on our sister Station News Radio740, KTRH. In baseball, the Astros lost the Rockies last night, 9 to 7. They gave up eight runs in the fifth inning and were never able to recover from that. They're going to play the Rockies again tonight. Mike Burroughs will be on the mound for the Strobes, going up against Colorado's Kyle Freeland. First pitch is at 7:40. You can listen to it on our sister station sports talk 790. In case you missed it, allergy season is Longer. We all feel it. Actually one third of Americans just felt it. That's how many of us suffer from allergies. If it feels like your allergies are getting worse, you are not wrong. There's a allergist at University of Michigan Health that explains. In general, allergy seasons are expected to be longer and more severe as time goes on. Obviously blaming climate change, global warming for that.

CBS made a big announcement when it comes to late night television. They announced after the Late show with Stephen Colbert ends on May 20th. First, a new show, Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen will take over.

Yeah, he's like the guru, the, the guy behind it. Byron Allen. I was telling you guys when I was a Kid. There was a show called Real People and he was one of the cast members on the show. It was kind of a reality show. Reality based, like a magazine show.

First time I ever saw, they would just show like quirky things. The first time I ever saw a tanning booth, he was doing a story on it. Like, you can go into this place, put on these goggles, and he's dancing around inside a. You know, it was a stand up.

Yeah. So he's an actor. What does he call himself? I'm seeing like CEO. Like, he's the one that gets all these comics together for this show.

He started out as a. Probably a stand up and then became a television personality, but then invested his money and now he's rich.

The Strokes announced their seventh studio album. It's called Reality Awaits and it's due out this summer. They revealed the project, little short teaser video on social media. It has an image of a vintage car and the message said, in the flesh. It's even sexier. No release date, no track listing, no singles were announced. We do know they have a busy festival season ahead, but that's all we know.

Rockets are one and a half point underdogs coming into this tip off will be at 10 and you can hear it on our sister Station News Radio set 740K TRH. In baseball, Astros lost to the Rockies last night, 9 7. They gave up eight runs in the fifth inning and weren't able to come back from that. They're gonna play the Rockies again tonight. And I believe it is a paid. He's paying for the time but he's going to take over the slot that is currently occupied by Stephen Colbert. When Stephen Colbert's show comes to an end. They'd open for Metallica. They have. But Hailstorm is a headlining act, and Lizzie said she wanted to be on this tour. Babymetal and Hailstorm are playing the woodlands September 25th. Tokyo Style pizza is taking off. The hipsters know about. Kind of looks like a regular Neapolitan pizza pie. It's got thick and airy outer crust. Oh, do I love that. Neapolitan is. It's ice cream Neophyte. Neapolitan is the type of crust.

Chocolate, vanilla and strawberry.

And strawberry ice cream.

Well, that is also ice cream. Sure.

Who are these Neapolitan people?

So it's got that airy outer crust that you would get like from a stone oven or something like that, but maintaining a thin bottom crust. So you get like the best of both worlds. There's like some wild hybrid they're working on. Stuff with pizza. Yes. It's got a little woodsy smoky to it.

There was a guy that came through town and I can't remember what he reviewed on his. But he put a restaurant on his TikTok and the restaurant became extremely busy afterwards. Is there like one guy that everybody kind of knows that like his food reviews are absolute fire and everybody goes there right afterwards, huh?

Well, now the Tick Tockers are taking over. Yeah. And this guy. And this is where TikTok. You can't just sit there and crap on it all the time. His video basically saved a family bakery that was about to close. The bakery is called Sweet220. It's in Detroit, struggling. Okay. Then a TikTok account named Chow Down Detroit. Kid goes rolling in there. Goes in there. There doesn't. He just visited them, okay. He gave him some love on their. He said their cupcakes were amazing. Business went crazy because a kid put it on his Tick Tock. The power that some kid has. They kind of know it too. They kind of know it now. These are outliers.

Some of them are getting paid for it.

But he went in there and he said organically, you know what? These cupcakes are great. I need to tell you guys, you know, know, I'm sure he probably said something to, you know, I like to keep. To keep it real with you guys. I think, you know, that usually that's the line.

If you have a food blogger that you follow, you follow them because you trust them.

The owner said that since the shop, since then, the shop is selling over 2,000 cupcakes a day. And they've actually brought in extra help. No way. Because of a kid's TikTok. The kid just put up a talk and said, these are really good cupcakes. And then boom. I like to keep it real, you know, I like to keep it real real with you guys.

Drugs and then drugs and then more drugs and then sex and then just being complete. The kids are so hateable, every one of them. And I watched every episode and then I watched the second season and it got. And it got even. Even weirder.

I like when people were like, I don't like succession because there's no likable character. Like, I think this is the point of the whole show is that they're not likable.

Every one of them was so terrible. They were great at being terrible people. And I think the kids, which they're not kids anymore. Anymore. I don't know how they're going to transition this show. It was 2019. They were in high school, doing it forever.

Where they're just like this 35 year old. Yeah.

It's a high school kid. I don't know if they're gonna try to pull them off being in high school. I don't know anything about it. It was 2019. It's seven years ago.

And the NBA Rockets are back in action. Tonight. They're going to play the Suns out in Phoenix. Coming into this game, they're one and a half point underdogs. Tip off is at 10 o' clock. There was a problem with the toilet and they weren't able to go number one for the first six hours that they were up there. And apparently this didn't affect number two. Now, I've been to NASA like you guys have, and you know the space toilets they show you, you know, it's on the tour for some reason. They could go two, but not one.

I mean, they're different.

They sure are. One's a one and one's a two.

A liquid and a solid, which I think matters with gravity and such.

Yeah. So in zero gravity, airflow is what makes the toilets work. Okay, so a fan broke and one astronaut. We know because you can't keep anything from the public. One Astronaut had to use a backup bag or something. But six hours in troubleshooting, there's a

camera on them all the time.

Right. And six hours after troubleshooting the astronauts were able to repair it. And then the toilet was a go.

That's good.

Six hours, the toilet. So they. NASA took care of that. But I'm sure if it was any longer they would have called John Moore for sure. Like you were involved kind of. There's something that they have alcohol out there that's d alcoholized where it starts A. And this is. There's champagne out there right now.

There's champagne that's real champagne. They dealcoholize it. If you don't want to just drink cider. Okay. And the process of de alkalization is not very cheap. You're getting this premium champagne is expensive. If you get real champagne, I'm not talking about like sparkling wine and ros. I'm talking about real champagne. It's expensive. This is a champagne. It's a premium experience, but it's de alcoholized.

And that was the first time that I like started having just a beer like on like, you can do this. It's like that meme. It's like, hey, I just realized I'm an adult. I could have chocolate cake anytime I want.

That's so funny that goes around like that. I just never even thought about just having a beer.

We'll get the kids to bed sometimes and I'll crack a beer. And you feel like you've earned it.

You got to risk it, homes. You know, razor blades and the Snickers.

The generation with the biggest sweet tooth, they say, is Gen Z, which makes sense because you're. When you're younger you're able to handle, like, sugar, a lot of extra sugar in your diets. There's fewer consequences than when you get older. Boomers say they like sweets the least. It's something that happens, and you evolve as you get older. The numbers, though, because I've always said, and I think most people know this about me, I. I'll use the comparison. Garrison. Chocolate piece of chocolate cake. Which? Chocolate cake's fine. It's delicious. I don't ever seek it out. It's there. Boom. Chips and salsa sold. I. I will take chips and salsa every single day.

[Mo]

Yeah.

[Rod Ryan]

Over a piece of chocolate cake, even. Alex, your carrot cake was wonderful, but chips and salsa, it's my jam. It's the next level.

[Mo]

Yeah.

[Rod Ryan]

To me, it's next level bread.

Like, give me all of that.

So I never considered myself, like, they saw you have a sweet tooth, you know, until. I'll tell you what ruined me.

For a number of years, I was doing. I was buying my food from nutrisystem. And you pick your breakfasts, your lunches and your dinners, and you go through the things, and then you pick your snacks.

[Mo]

Okay.

[Rod Ryan]

And there's tons of sweets on there. You know, it could be really dark chocolate.

[Mo]

This is like a diet thing.

[Rod Ryan]

Yeah.

[Mo]

Delivery foods.

[Rod Ryan]

Nutrisystem. Sure. You get a big. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Marie Osmond, all of that stuff. And then, I'm telling you, it trained me to want to be rewarded for that. That treat that I never, ever, ever. I never, ever craved. Sweets, meats, and that. Nutrisystem was fine. It was fine.

[Mo]

You lost weight.

[Rod Ryan]

I did. I did. If you like anything, if you stay strict on it and, you know, everybody's gonna tell me how much sodium's in all that stuff or whatever, it's fine. I did lose weight doing it, but that's what ruined me on. I was just thinking about, oh, I got a little peanut butter cup thing that's coming. That's, you know, like an Atkins really low carb type of thing. Thing. But that's coming. And I wanted that reward. And I started thinking about it. That's what turned me into more of a sweets person. I ate candy. We weren't allowed. I mean, we weren't allowed. We snuck it when we were kids. Of course, we could eat the. We were supposed to bring everything home from thanks. Or from Halloween trick or treating, and then have my mom go through it.

[Mo]

All right.

[Rod Ryan]

We were just piling that stuff in our mouth as we were running from house to house knowing that my mom was going to Take it and then ration in it. And then we were gonna have like one piece. And like, I mean it went on for months. Like Christmas. I was still getting a piece of candy in in my lunch. You know, she would give us one piece a day. The number. So it's not surprising that Gen Z and this isn't slamming Gen Z. It's just you're younger, you got fewer consequences. I think Gen Z says that it's the biggest sweet tooth youth. Generation 86 of Gen Z or say that they're a sweet treat type of person. 72% say they need one to six servings of sweets every single day. Six, that seems a little. Six is servings. Yeah, like six little reward things. Whatever. What are they rewarding themselves with? Cookies is the number one answer. Ice cream. Number two actually. Cookies and ice cream. Tide chocolate candy cake. Those are the top five favorite sweets. You can't do five of those a day. You can't do five or six of those a day. I mean, I hate people that can eat whatever they want and they don't gain a pound. Alex, it's not true. It's Alex.

I just said I hate those type of people. And then I looked over at not true at all. His ass ain't big enough to stink. He can eat whatever he wants.

Put a lot of work in his body.

I hate running. I have to run all time so I'm not a fat pos.
