Good morning. The United States submitted our peace proposal to Iran and Iran responded yesterday. President Trump rejected their response almost immediately, calling it totally unacceptable. So the energy secretary, Chris Wright, did press yesterday and said if all of this fails, we're going to go back to the military method to go ahead and open the strait. And with that, oil prices rose, reversing all that progress we got to report about last week. Speaking of the energy secretary, he was busy yesterday. He spoke on a solution to gas prices. He said the administration is open to temporarily suspending the federal gas tax in order to give Americans some relief at the pump.

Yeah, let's do that.

[Mo]

Let's do it. So the average price has hit $4.52 a gallon, up more than 50% since the start of the Iran war. He said he's open to all ideas with this. Gas tax is 18 cents per gallon. It's the federal tax, so that would definitely help. Fads of the 90s Several trends from the 90s are making their way back to being in style right now. And a website ranked the 11 best fads of the 90s. Number one, the Macarena.

Hey. Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are getting sued. They have a new movie called the Rip. And they're getting sued by the real life police officers who inspired the movie. So if you haven't seen it, it's a true story from 2016 in Miami. This narcotics raid became the largest money seizure in Miami Dade history. More than $24 million in cash. While the real life officers are saying the movie unfairly damaged their reputation by portraying them negatively.

I don't know. The cops just don't like the way they're being portrayed, Right?

Slipknot's clown reveals he needs heart surgery. So Sean Crahan just did a podcast after saying that after they finished their most recent tour, he was going for a checkup and doctors discovered an irregular heartbeat. When he first saw care, the nurses were trying to get an EKG reading on him and thought he was having a heart attack. Doctors were like, all right, this guy needs a pacemaker. But they didn't know what that would mean for further touring, so instead they're going for heart surgery. He's only 56, but they say once he's treated, he's going to be feeling better than ever and not tour not stopping touring. So they'll be happy. Those are Houston deadlines.

The Astros got shut out by the Reds yesterday, five to nothing. They lost two of three against Cincinnati over the weekend. Well, as soon as we got that response, President Trump rejected it almost immediately, calling it totally unacceptable. Then the energy secretary, Chris Wright did press yesterday and said if all of this fails, we're going to go back to quote the military method to open the strait. And with that, oil prices rose, reversing the progress that we saw last week. Here we are. A group of American passengers evacuated from the cruise ship at the center of the deadly hantavirus outbreak arrived in Nebraska this morning. They're going to now undergo medical evaluations and monitoring. So I think it was 17 U.S. citizens landed in Omaha shortly after 2:30 this morning. They were then transported by bus to the University of Nebraska's medical center. There we have a federally funded quarantine facility that is designed to handle highly infectious diseases. People with Ebola at the beginning of COVID they go to this place, they've got this special ventilation system, private bathrooms, exercise equipment. There's all the everything they need quarantined. It's pretty crazy. So they're going to hopefully monitor them and see what happens next. Wild Olivia and Liam are the most popular baby names for the seventh straight year.

Maybe. Maybe. The last time I had a baked potato, I came, I couldn't believe how good it was.

Because the potato is so good. But I don't think it gets better than a baked potato and a steak and pizza is my favorite food, but a steak and a baked potato, I don't think you can beat it.

Good morning. So the United States submitted our peace proposal to Iran and they responded yesterday. President Trump rejected their response almost immediately, calling it, quote, totally unacceptable. So then the Energy Secretary, Chris Wright, did press yesterday and he said if all of this fails, we're going to go back to the military method to open the strait. And with that, oil prices rose. All that progress we made last week. Yeah, no longer. He continued on the energy secretary speaking about a solution to gas prices. He said the administration is open to temporarily suspending the federal gas tax to give us a little bit of relief at the pump.

But that's like I remember this being talked about once before. It's not a lot.

The little it'll help, but it's not a lot. If you think you're Going to be getting a ton off.

Right. So the gas tax is 18 cents per gallon. That's the federal tax. Would they take all of that off?

While these real life police officers say the movie has unfairly damaged their reputation by portraying them negatively. Obviously it's called rip and the officers are like, when you rip something, you steal something. And they didn't steal anything.

Don't you say, though, like, when it's a movie, it's based off a real story. Like, not every detail is going to be correct.

I don't know how that works. Then let's talk. Slipknot Clown revealed he needs heart surgery. So apparently when they got off of their most recent tour, he went to see his doctor. He was feeling weird. He had an irregular heartbeat when he first went in to do an ekg. The nurses couldn't find his heartbeat at all and initially feared he was having a heart attack. So doctors were like, all right, you got to have a pacemaker. And he's like, I don't know what that's going to mean for me and my future touring and such. It's metal, so heart surgery is the plan. They believe that once he's treated, he's going to actually feel better than ever and not have to stop. He's only 56. So crazy that he's going through all of this.

I feel bad for him, right?

Sports the Astros got shut out by the yesterday five to nothing. They lost two of three against Cincinnati over the weekend. Tonight they're gonna open up a four game series with the Mariners at Dyken Park. Peter Lambert will be on the map for the Strohs going up against Seattle's George Kirby. First pitch is at 7:10 and you can listen to it on our sister station Sports Talk790. In the NBA playoffs, the Knicks eliminated the 76ers 144 to 114 to sweep that series. And the Timberwolves got by the Spurs 114 to 109 to even that series up at two games a piece. In the Stanley cup playoffs, the Canadiens beat the Sabres 62 to take a 21 lead in that one. And the Ducks top the Golden Knights 4 to 3 to even that series up at two games. Games A piece. That is what's going on in sports.

I'm usually on the computer getting something ready for for the next day show or whatever. There's no way I can get away with my kid going to bed that early anymore. Boring. Second, once second grade is done then it's gonna have to be a little later.

Yeah, I think I've always been just a person that got up early. I don't love it. It's just I don't think we choose these things. And I don't get up out of bed and start whistling Zippity Doo Dah. I can't wait for the day. It just happens.

I mean, like, I always thought game shows were cool. As a matter of fact, I thought to the point, where could I be a game show host? Oh, long before I ever thought about being on the radio. I thought game show host or to have my voice used in a cartoon would be, like, the greatest thing ever. Would be the coolest thing ever. But I didn't. Again, like radio. Where do these people come from? Where do the. Where do people come from that do that?

I don't come from people like that. I don't know who those people are. I don't know where they come from, how. Where they're created. I don't know. But I always thought it'd be so cool to be a game show host. So here's the deal. Contestant on the Price is Right, the largest single game prize in the show's history. This show's been on for over 50 years, I think. Now, I'll say this. In going back to my schooling, there was a bunch of scandals in the 1950s.

When it came to television game shows.

Yeah. I think the show might have been called. They made a movie about it called Quiz Show.

There are restrictions on game shows. You cannot cheat up to and including, I think, all the way up to, like, Survivor is a game show. American Idol is a game show. Those are game shows.

Yes. They are strictly regulated under federal law. You cannot rig, you cannot fix, you cannot do something because it's a special Mother's Day edition or whatever. But that's kind of what happened here with the Price is right. For over 50 years, the show's been on, and they just set a new record. So if I'm understanding how it worked, because I got some audio. She won $227,000 in cash and, like, risk it. If you wanted to go on to the next level, you either get what it says or you lose everything type of deal.

So every you got, you couldn't lock in your money. You had to stop playing to lock in your money. If you kept going, you risked it. You risked losing everything. And it was something called the lion's share game.

Each time she won a prize, she risked losing everything to keep going forward. And this is kind of what it sounded like as she was moving forward. Rod, did you know the University of Nebraska Medical center is the home to a federally funded quarantine facility designed to handle these highly infectious diseases?

So some new rankings came out, ranking the best airlines, Spirit the worst for customer satisfaction. Well, let me look, because there was a. There was a category for economy and basic economy. Southwest came in in first place. For years, I have been touting Southwest and the whole open seating and all of that just because I use them all the time.

I told you guys that I took a survey, like, a long one, and telling them, yeah, it took me about. They said it would be about 10 minutes. And I'm like, you know what? I'm gonna let you know. And I'm not a complainer. I don't do this.

I didn't do it. I did. Did do a survey, and I said, you guys are just kind of doing what everybody's doing with, like, assigned seats, but you're not doing it good. And the people in line. I'm just want, like, I'm. I've taken a few Southwest flights now, and nobody knows what to do. And it's just what every airline does. There's assigned seats. It's still. Something is wrong. Something is funky. It's not right.

I don't need a lot of special things. They're not doing good. They're not doing good right now. They're number one. They're number one. The North American Airlines for customer satisfaction, economy. Southwest, Delta, JetBlue, Alaska Airlines, and Allegiant Air. So Spirit didn't make the list. Top five. North American Airlines for customer satisfaction, premium, economy. Delta scored high on everything economy. I don't need that yet. You guys fly. I haven't flown Delta in a while. If you go to Atlanta, if anything's going to Atlanta is probably Delta because that's their hub. Delta ranks highest for premium economy. JetBlue tops the list for first in business class.
