Are we really this incompetent and corrupt?
Dave Rubin
Don't answer that. It's not a revenue problem, it's a spending problem.
They're trying to kill us.
You thought that the president and his cadre of masters of the universe like evil people. You got merman, Cyclops. What the hell have I done? All right, guys, I'm Dave Rubin. This is the Rubin Report. It's April 29, 2026. Like, comment, subscribe, all that stuff we have. This is a dense, jam packed prime professional program for you today. A lot of paper, lot of sharpies, a lot to get to. But before we do anything else, I actually have a major, major announcement. Particularly for those of you here in the free state of Florida, but really for everybody. We're announcing this right now. Tickets just went up, I believe, two minutes ago. Put the image up. This is a pretty damn impressive night happening in Florida. The Florida Man Rubin Report live at the Fillmore, which is a spectacular theater here in Miami Beach. June 11th, I will be doing a live Rubin Report show. We're gonna write it that very day. So it'll be one of these with all the clips and all the craziness and giveaways and everything else. But you can see some primo guests that we've got right there. Obviously the headliner will be Governor Ron DeSantis. I'll be doing a one on one interview with him. At the end of the show, Carolla's gonna be doing some stand up. Up top. We're gonna do a little panel with you might have heard of these people. Benjamin Shapiro from the Daily Wire and my good friend Jillian Michaels from our actual friends. Po. That's an all star freaking lineup at a great theater right here in Miami. I am told there's a rumor there will be free tequila. We got giveaways. There is going to be a meet and greet and all of that good stuff. It is going to be a great night. Tickets just went on sale. I have no doubt it's going to sell out. So you can go to Dave Rubin.com events. I'd love to give some of you guys. What do we do? It's the two second hug. You can't hug me during the meet and greet. You can get a two second hug and if you're with someone else and they want to give away one second of their hug, yeah, we can do a three second situation. But a lot of people hold me and then they don't let go. And we've got to get to a lot. I'm telling you guys, this thing's going to sell out. It's going to be a great, great night. I'm super psyched to do this. Fillmore is a spectacular theater and to have DeSantis as he's wrapping up his second term here in Florida. It's going to be a celebration of all of those good things. And Corolla's hilarious. And what do I have to tell you about Ben and Gillian? It's just going to be a great night. Again, it's davrubin.com event buy today. Tequila, chickens, pigs, a lot of stuff. It's all gonna be there. And let's dive in, guys. Cause I'm telling you, this is. It's everything in today's show. It is quite literally a little bit of everything. So of course, the major sort of cultural mini war that we are in right now is related to the backdrop of the third assassination attempt on Donald Trump's life, which happened over the weekend at the White House Correspondent's Dinner. But really subsequently, what has blown up since that is that Jimmy Kimmel a couple days before, a guy who makes about 20 million bucks a year on ABC to insult and demean half the country, he did a fake White House correspondence dinner with some pretty terrible jokes. We showed you a couple of them yesterday. So subsequently, after the assassination attempt, suddenly people were like, wait a minute, maybe this is a bit much. He's Literally two days before they try to kill Trump, he's joking about Melania being a widow, and it's just starting to feel like maybe the rhetoric is too much. Although they never turned it back. Anyway, here is Jimmy Kimmel defending his expectant widow joke about Melania.

It seemed like they were all together in a room. We had a little roast. Again, this was Thursday, and there was no big reaction to it until this morning when I greeted the day facing yet another Twitter vomit storm and a call to fire me from our first lady, Melania Trump, saying I should be fired because of a joke I made again five nights ago. It was a pretend roast. I said, our first lady Melania is here. Look at her. So beautiful. Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow. Which obviously was a joke about their age difference and the look of joy we see on her face every time they're together. It was a very light roast joke about the fact that he's almost 80 and she's younger than I am. It was not by any stretch of the definition a call to assassination. And they know that I've been very vocal for many years speaking out against gun violence in particular. I agree that hateful and violent rhetoric is something we should reject. I do. And I think a great place to start to dial that back would be to have a conversation with your husband about it, because,
Dave Rubin
God, where is Johnny Carson when we need him? Like, we've been reduced. I mean, to whatever extent these shows matter anymore, beyond creating outrage, it's like we've been reduced to this partisan drivel at night where we once had the king of late night, Johnny Carson, who. It was a little bit of poking at everybody, but it wasn't really political, and it was actually funny, which was quite groundbreaking at the time. You know, I just asked the guys during the clip there, did anyone think that it was a joke about age? Cause that if. If. Let's say he's telling you the truth about that. There is not one second where I thought it was about age. It was pretty clear about he's just gonna die soon. Now, did he mean, I hope he gets assassinated? I don't know. I don't know what. It's hard to know what's in this guy's heart or mind or, you know, and keep in mind he has 20 writers coming up with that. But all these guys here all said nobody watched the original joke and thought it was a joke about age. Now, it is true that Melania has come out and basically said that he should be Fired. I want to be very clear about something because I'm seeing a lot of, on the right, a lot of the free speech people on the right calling for him to be fired. I am actually not calling for Jimmy Kimmel to be fired. I think it would have been well within ABC's right over the last. How many years has that guy had that show? But let's say the last five years when everything has gotten hyper political, you know, Covid, Russia, Russia, Russia and all that. I think it would have been well within their right and probably a decent business decision had they fired him. Not because of calling for anyone to be killed or anything like that, but really because he's been attacked. Terrible comedian who has taken. You know, these late night shows used to be institutions that bring us together. That's why I always reference Johnny Carson and he is one of the lead guys. Colbert, who's about to be unemployed but cashed in at about 20 million a year too. They created this hyper partisan nature. You could even go back even. You only have to go back that far. You go back 10 years ago. Jay Leno running the Tonight show post Johnny Carson for 20 years, was he hyper partisan? Jay Leno happens to be a little more of a conservative. Nobody knew anything about his politics. As a matter of fact, people used to give him crap for it because people didn't like. And I include myself in that. I've come to like him and respect Jay Leno a lot more over the years because he just was trying to be funny. Whether he was funny or not is almost irrelevant. He was just. He wasn't trying to alienate half of America. David Letterman, he's now come out as more of a lefty. But when he was doing his show, you damn well know that every day that they were in that writer's room, they were just like, what? That is funny tonight. And it wasn't hyper partisan lunacy. So I am not personally. Dave Rubin is not calling for Jimmy Kimmel to be fired because of the joke. It was a bad joke. And particularly to the backdrop of almost another assassination attempt, to imply that Melania is going to be a widow soon, even though it was two days before. The timing all feels weird, but I don't think that he should be fired. Well, first off, I don't think the government should force ABC to fire him. That would be a violation of the First Amendment. But Melania as the first lady, she has First Amendment rights too. And she could say, I think ABC should fire them. ABC has to decide what to do. They have to decide what's in the best interest for them as a corporation. And is this show a net positive for them in terms of cash flow and narrative and everything else? That's what they have to decide. But I am seeing a lot of people in the right like, fire em. Fire him. Fire him. And I think we, those of us who have been against this cancel culture the entire time. Let's not forget Roseanne Barr put out one tweet, one tweet about Valerie Jarrett. I think about what, 10 years ago when she had the number one show on television. She put out one tweet and they fired her from the number one show on television. They have a right to do that. It's not the government coming in and doing it. And we have to be careful what we're wishing for here. If we, if we're going to have the government put pressure on companies, even though ABC is a massive corporation and there's connections with the government and everything else, and they have an FCC license, I just think we have to be a little bit careful there. However, the broader point here is that Jimmy Kimmel has been awful forever. And this is not a 5050 equation where it's like, okay, this side does it and this side does it, but it basically turns out to be a wash. It simply is not that. Here's some edits of Mr. Kimmel.
Guest/Commentator
He had some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang, desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points. Our first lady, Melania is here. Look at Melania, so beautiful. Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow.
Dave Rubin
So the reason I'm showing you that one, and trust me, you've been, we've shown you plenty of them over the years. Like the horrible pandering, lying, just absolute lies. Like a joke is supposed to be something truthful that then you could put a twist on it and then you make it funny. And that's how you make. That's how we don't all kill each other. Right? Oscar Wilde said, if you want to tell people the truth, you do it with humor, otherwise they will punch you in the face. Loosely quoting right there. And that's the point. So what he did in the first portion of what we just showed you is when it comes to Tyler Robinson, he completely lied about what his political affiliation was and what his belief set was. Right? He was obviously not one of. When he says one of them, he means one of maga. He was a trans lefty activist who'd been radicalized after growing up in a fairly conservative family, actually. So he was definitely more one of you than one of us, if that's the framing you want to use. But you're all right. So you're allowed to do that joke and completely lie about what's going on. And now you're upset that you're getting pushback when you do something that in essence was at least an implication of the death of the President of the United States States. Here's Caroline Levitt on the quality of Jimmy Kimmel's comedy.
For example, as the first lady of the United States pointed out this morning, just two days prior to the shooting, ABC's late night host Jimmy Kimmel disgustingly called first lady Melania Trump an expectant widow who in their right minds says a wife would be glowing over the potential murder of her beloved husband. And having experienced what I did with the first lady on Saturday night, I can tell you that she was anything but that. This kind of rhetoric about the President, the First lady and his supporters is completely deranged. And it's unbelievable that the American people are consuming it night after night after night.
All right, so the question here is, does the government have any right to force ABC's hand here? Now, again, I would say no. Now, there might be some, if you look at the full scope of the FCC rules and everything, and we've talked about this before around some of Colbert and Kimmel's jokes, there might be some FCC violation when they fully are using their platforms to lie about things. You know, they've basically. Because the irony is they've ironically turned these quote unquote comedy shows into news shows. And that's the problem. It's why technically the View, if I'm not mistaken, please check me on this. The View is part of ABC's entertainment division, not their news division. Because if it was part of their news division, they would have to have a higher standard when it comes to telling the truth. So instead they keep them under the entertainment wing. Thus they can lie and do all of their nonsense and offer their half assed retractions all the time. Now.it's not for the government to say what all of us take in as entertainment. Right? Like I wouldn't want if I made a bad joke, I'm sure I've made. I mean, I know they're all bangers when I'm doing them, but like, maybe it's possible I could make a bad joke one day. I Could I could. And would we want the government calling YouTube to say, Dave Rubin cannot be on your platform anymore? Of course not. So I just think, to me, the best thing that could happen here is we just mock the hell out of Kimmel. We expose the hell out of Kimmel. The advertisers then in turn are like, you know, maybe this is a bit much. We with this guy. Like, it's too much. It's been going on for too long. And then the market will decide. So I would say to those people who are on the right, let's have a little faith in the free market. Let's have a little faith in free speech, et cetera. Let's not become what they are that we are so critical of. Here's a bit more of Kimmel trying to explain his way out of this thing.
Guest/Commentator
I am sorry that you and the president and everyone in that room on Saturday went through that. I really am. Just because no one got killed doesn't mean it wasn't traumatic and scary. And we should come together and be best. We really should. But if you want us to believe that a joke I made three days before this dinner had any effect on anything that happened, well, then maybe someone should look into this psychic lady, too.
Dave Rubin
This speech tonight will be classic Donald J. Trump. It'll be funny, it'll be entertaining. There will be some shopping fired tonight in the room.
Guest/Commentator
You know what?
Dave Rubin
It's so thin, Jimmy. Those things are not comparable at all. Right? You've got 20 writers coming up with the joke about Melania being a widow. That's her in an interview using a colloquial phrase, shots fired. No one thinks that means it literally. But again, I'm not calling for Jimmy Kimmel to be fired. Now, here's a guy who I really admire as a broadcaster. He was on the show two weeks ago. I've had him on many times. The first television appearance I ever made was on the Bill O'Reilly show on Fox probably 15 years ago. Now, you guys know how much I respect Bill. I actually disagree with his opinion here. But you know me, I like showing both sides of things. So here he is talking. Or here he is saying that Jimmy should be fired and the affiliate stations should drop him. What is your response to Jimmy Kimmel's continued division with his platform?
Guest/Commentator
Well, it shouldn't be on the air, of course. I mean, he's not a comedian. He's not a satirist. He's there to hate President Trump. Disney knows that. But Disney runs a couple operations like the View as all they do is hate Trump. So what has to happen now is that the affiliated stations, and this did happen the last time Kimmel pulled this kind of stuff. Got to dump them. And I'm not. I am about as liberal a man when it comes to freedom of speech and satire. I understand it all. I want it to be there. But this is hate. Yeah, that's what this is. And Disney is trafficking in hate.
Dave Rubin
All right, so we'll reach out to Bill to get him back on, or I'll go on his show and we should talk this out now. I don't have a huge disagreement. Is it hate? And is it hate? Like, is it endless hate that these guys put out there and lies about Trump across the board and about half the country? And are they trying to manipulate us and all this, those things? Absolutely, yes. The question is, does someone have the right to. Not the right, because you don't have a right to a TV show, but if a network decides to give someone a TV show, are they allowed to do whatever they want without interference from the government? The answer to that is yes. So I do agree. Jimmy Kimmel is not a comedian, by the way. We would have looked at the comedian standards, say, 20, 30 years ago, but he. He is a partisan hack who is working for a corporation, in this case, Disney, giving them exactly what they want. But again, I would say rather than all of us being as outraged as the left is over everything. And when Roseanne Barr made her silly joke about Valerie Jarrett, they all demanded she be fired, and she did get fired. Would that help us, in other words, if Jimmy Kimmel at the end of today does not have a job? Did we really accomplish anything like. Or is it better to just keep exposing him, keep mocking him? And if you have a friend that watches the Jimmy Kimmel show, you go, what is wrong with you, you dullard. But of course, the entire machine now is in a huge. And this happened already. We've been through several versions of this where Kimmel has said stupid, really just noxious, stupid things. And then everyone pretends that this is about his First Amendment right to free speech, which it isn't. Jimmy Kimmel privately can say whatever the high hell he wants. When you were on the broadcast network of abc, the standards are. There's corporate standards, and again, there might be some FCC stuff there that is actually applicable here. But the entire machine right now is running in defense of Jimmy Kimmel, and they want to make this a First Amendment issue. Here's Brian Potato Head Stelter. Yeah, that's right.
Guest/Commentator
Disney is standing by Jimmy Kimmel. Disney is ignoring the president's pressure to fire him. And that's important to point out.
Dave Rubin
First, we have seen some big examples
Guest/Commentator
of media company capitulation in the last year and a half, and this is not one of those examples. My sense is that Disney is prepared
Dave Rubin
to defend itself if need be and sees this as a First Amendment fight
Guest/Commentator
that is worth having.
Dave Rubin
Well, that's very interesting, Brian Stelter, guy who got fired from your show because you suck, then went to Harvard to teach journalism, which was ironic, and then got fired back because people just watch you because you suck so bad. It's ironic because on your network about a year ago, there was a guy by the name of Ryan Gerdusty who made a joke and you know what happened to him?
Guest/Commentator
You don't want to be called Nazis. Stop doing Nazi. No, no, no.
Dave Rubin
You don't call
Guest/Commentator
people no by me.
Dave Rubin
I never called you an Semite.
Guest/Commentator
I mean, I'm not sitting here saying I'm a supporter of the Palestinians. I'm used to it.
Dave Rubin
Yeah, well, I hope your beeper doesn't go off. I hope your beeper doesn't go off. And then he got fired. Now, that was obviously a joke. Nobody has a beeper anymore. I don't think Mehdi Hasan, who I think is a communist jihadi lunatic, I don't think he has a beeper. So it's implied that that's a joke. That, oh, ha ha ha. You're on the team of the guys who just had the beepers blown up, but CNN fired him. Potato head. Where were you on that one? Jake Tapper? Where were you on that one? Were Ryan Gardusky's First Amendment rights infringed upon? Actually, the answer is no, because it wasn't the government that was fired him. It was CNN that fired him. And Ryan is welcome to make that joke. And I just replayed that joke and I'm not, thankfully, I'm my own boss. I'm not gonna fire myself. The chances I'm gonna drag myself into the office and go, dave, that was a bit much. Probably not gonna happen. Let's go back all the way to 2022. Here are Jake Tapper, a man who has pushed every hoax that has been exposed over the last however many years, and Jimmy Kimmel. And they are just disgusted by certain jokes being made by certain people. And it's not just the smears that
Guest/Commentator
they put out about Paul Pelosi, these deranged conspiracy theories. A lot of these folks Right wing MAGA folks tried to make jokes at Paul Pelosi's expense.
Dave Rubin
Where's the line?
Guest/Commentator
I mean, I personally found those jokes by Don Jr. And others just horrible and not even remotely funny. I've said a million stupid things and I would hope that people would decide whether an apology is sincere when an apology isn't even offered. That's. Listen, these people are supposed to be Christians.
Dave Rubin
Ah, well, that's the part that I really want to show you. Because then they want to use your own Christian beliefs and your values set against you, even though they seem to think it's never applicable to them. Actually, in that little clip right there, like, give the devil his due, they're allowed to be discussed by things. They're allowed to ask people for apologies and everything else. But the point of showing you that is that right there, it was a joke about Paul Pelosi. They didn't like jokes that people on the right were making about Paul Pelosi. Right. So what do you do? You're cnn. You then bring in the guy who's making all the same exact jokes going the other way, and he's now the judge, jury and executioner about what jokes can be made. Do you see how absolutely insane that is? And really how it shows you that the Democrats and mainstream media, they are like this or like this or this or this or this or wait, it's a little of this. You know, it took me like 20 years to be able to do this thing. I couldn't do it until I was in my mid-30s. All right, let's talk about Cheers Health for a minute and then we'll get to more. Guys, you ever notice how a couple drinks can still leave you feeling rough the next morning? You. You did everything right. You ate, you drank water, you got decent sleep, and you still woke up a little foggy. That's why a lot of people are turning to Cheers Restore. This is an after alcohol aid after your last drink or before bed. And it works while you sleep. People are surprised by how much better they feel the next morning. And here's the key. It's not just about hydration. What really matters is what's happening in your brain and liver overnight. When alcohol leaves your system, the brain goes into rebound mode, which is part of why you feel off the next day. Cheers includes DHM to help smooth out that process while you sleep. Cheers is backed by doctors and PhDs. They've sold over 50 million doses, and it's available in over 30,000 stores like Target CVS and Walgreens take Cheers Restore after your last drink or before bed and wake up feeling at least 50% better or your money back. For a limited time, listeners get 20% off their entire order with code ruben@cheershealth.com that's CheersHealth code rubin. Okay, so let's connect the general state of insanity again. As I said on the show on Monday, imagine this was the third attempt on Donald Trump's life. Imagine the unthinkable had happened. Like, just try to imagine where we would be as a nation and the entire world right now. Like, that's how close we are to the precipice if these people keep, keep infecting the minds of people, keep saying Hitler is in charge, and more and more people get ginned up to take out Hitler. Well, now we're seeing, and it's been obvious for quite some time, but we're now seeing numbers, actual numbers on the levels of radicalization on the left. Let me show you something from Manhattan Institute Vice President Jesse Arm. They did a survey on radicalization. In our last Manhattan Institute survey, we found that 46% of today's Democrat coalition believes the assassination attempt against Donald Trump in 2024 was orchestrated by his supporters to increase sympathy for him. Okay, so now there's two things going on here. We have a certain set of people that are being radicalized. We know that we showed you some numbers the other day about how basically 23% of Democrats believe that violence can be used for political means. And then that's a of like real wokesters. And then it expands into, you know, just sort of the, whatever sliver of more moderate liberals still exists. That's one version of it. That what I just read you, right there is more on the conspiratorial side of things. So what they are saying is that Butler, the Butler incident where Donald Trump got shot, we all saw the blood, we all saw him fall and everything else. And fight, fight, fight. That, that was made up. What was the percentage there? Again, what was the percentage? It was 40. Was it 43%?
Guest/Commentator
46.
Dave Rubin
46%. That's basically half of the people in the Democrat coalition think that that was a conspiracy. We're always told that we're the conspiracy theorists, we're the crazy ones. Right? And you've got half in that coalition. That is crazy. But now, okay, so you've got the conspiracy side. Now let's connect it to the slow roll, violence is okay side. You know, I show you this guy every now and again. They call him Charlemagne, the God, his name's Lenny. I call him Lenny. Not calling anyone. God. His name is Lenny. And Lenny has a program. And you may not watch this program or care, but he has a huge audience. And it is worth noting and watch what he does here. He does the exact same thing from that clip that we showed you four or five times last week of Hasan Piker basically excusing violence. Trump's a bad guy. So, you know, stuff's gonna happen. And this is becoming ubiquitous across the left right now. Take a look.
Guest/Commentator
The Trump administration has caused so much pain to people's everyday lives that some folks are fed up and willing to risk it all. Simple as that. And if you're going to talk about anybody toning down violent political rhetoric, start with the President.
Dave Rubin
All right, so first off, Lenny, I'd be happy to do the show and explain to you why you are wrong about that, but let's try it this way. Let me read you a tweet that I put up this morning, actually. Else. Well, allow me to quote Dave Rubin on the Rubin report. How about that? I think this will get it right. Joe Biden let in 20 million illegals into the country. That is far worse than anything Donald Trump has ever done. That still wouldn't have been a legitimate reason to excuse violence towards him. These people have no idea the Pandora's box they are opening. And that's the point, Lenny. You may feel that Donald Trump has made life bad for people even though the economy actually is doing quite well right now and the markets are really high and gas prices are basically down. And if nothing else, he closed the border and stopped the invasion. But let's say you disagree with all of those things. Once you open that Pandora's box, once you open that thing, you cannot close it, and you have no idea what will come out of it. And you guys are opening it right now. Hasan Piker took the same position. Well, you know, Brian Thompson, healthcare CEO, he was a bad dude and people don't like their healthcare. So someone's going to assassinate him in Times Square. It's the exact same thing you're saying. People are upset about Donald Trump, so someone's going to do it. By that very logic, you, you would have a target on your own head. Right? Like, you say political things, Lenny. Bernie Sanders says political things. AOC says political things. And there are people on the right who finds. I find those things quite noxious. I find all of the ideas of the modern Democrat Party, which is a radically anti American, anti capitalist party, I find them all Horrifically noxious. Once I go from, okay, you guys have a horrible set of ideas and I'll mock you and I'll make fun of you and I'll call you out and I'll expose you once I take that next step to oh, and, you know, I'll kind of get it if somebody blows your brains out. Well, guess what? It's. It's coming both ways. And truly, it would be the end of the American experiment. And guys, it's everywhere on the left right now. There is no one moderating this. We've shown you some videos of this guy. Wajahat Ali. I debated this ding dong on Piers Morgan a couple times. Here he is after the assassination attempt. Listen to this.
Guest/Commentator
I think most of the country is just done. We're like, mother effer, just die, just leave. Just like, you know, let the grim reaper come in and take you with from your cankles. I, I think people are sick and tired. You know, what we predicted while we're on that street on street by on Saturday says I was talking to some journalists. I'm like, by Tuesday, people will move on. No one's gonna give a.
Dave Rubin
All right, so he wants him to just die. Grim reaper come around. Now, again, first off, he says most of the country, well, most of the country voted for Donald Trump. And I'm going to guess that there's even some people in your crazy Democrat party that are not okay with the assassination or wouldn't be happy if Donald Trump just died today. As much as they hate him. If the president of the United States just had a heart attack today, God forbid, I'm going to guess that there's going to be a couple people that still have a little more of a heart than you do in that party. And they wouldn't be happy about it. But again, all they've got left at point this, this point basically is not only tearing down everything that's good about America, but basically joking about and in this case, wishing death on the president of the United States. Again, I despise Bernie Sanders as a human being. I think he has been an unbelievably horrible influence on this country. Showing young people particularly or tricking young people into thinking that envy is virtuous and ushering in social. And the revolution will eat him one day too, right? Because at the end of the day, he'll be an old white man. Or in his case, he's an old white. He's larping Jew, basically. But that's even worse than just being white. So it'll take him out one day. But I'm not for someone killing him. And I wouldn't excuse it in the slightest. And I guess what, I wouldn't excuse it if it happened to Rashida Tlaib or Ilhan Omar or anything else. We have to have basic rules here and if we do not, it's over. But let's show you a little bit how they put play both sides on this stuff. Watch this. I mean these things again, it's so easy, thanks to the Internet, to expose their ridiculousness. This is Representative New York Democrat Representative. He's a total buffoon. Dan Goldman. We know what Donald Trump's rhetoric leads to because we know many times over how his followers use violence. The point is that we do need to dial it down on all sides. It is just unquestionable at this point that that man cannot see public office again. He is not only unfit, he is destructive to our democracy. And he has to be. He has to be eliminated.

Do you see how profoundly ridiculous these people are? It's. I don't even know how to analyze this properly. Everything that you guys do is what you're accusing us of doing. And at the same time, it's your side that's constantly trying to kill the President of the United States. Think about the four years that we had under Joe Biden. COVID lockdowns, an absolute invasion of the country. Crime rampant. Every no one knew who the president was. Did I, or can you think of one Republican once that implied that Joe Biden, that if someone just killed Joe Biden things would be better or I'd, you know, I get it. You know, there's been an invasion. 20 million people came to the country. We have no idea who they are or what they're doing. They're bringing in drugs and raping people. I'd get it if someone killed him. Can you think of one person that said that? I can't. Can you? He can't either. And he knows about this stuff. Let's go to, you're an astute political thinker, right? You're not just sitting back there pressing buttons all day. Let's go to Arizona Democrat Senator Mark Kelly. And of course, what do the Democrats do? They never let a crisis go to waste. And what they really want right now, of course is gun control.

President Trump is making this argument.
Dave Rubin
It's a security argument.

He needs it.
Dave Rubin
There are a lot of things he
Guest/Commentator
could be talking about right now. What do you make of his focus
Dave Rubin
on that, on Kimmel as what he's
using this moment for?
Guest/Commentator
I mean, why is instead of the ballroom, why isn't he calling out the need for some stronger gun laws? Or maybe we should figure out how to regulate social media companies so they're not making a profit off of dividing us as a nation. That's where some of this dangerous action comes from. And then by the way, what's next? He builds this ballroom, he stays inside the compound. I mean, is he going to put up a moat or a wall next around the White House? I mean, our president is not a monarch. They should be out there with the people.
Dave Rubin
This is so dangerous and dumb what these people are doing. Okay, first off, let's do. He did a couple different things there. Number one on the gun thing, first off, an armed population is a safe population. I don't even have to explain that any further. Okay? You have every right and it is your God given right to protect your family and your property and everything else. Just because someone had a gun does not mean and had horrible intentions. Doesn't mean you take away our God given rights. But think about it this way, let's say right now Donald Trump was like, you know what? I thought about it and it's the third time someone's tried to shoot me. Let's take away some guns. Do you realize what you've done right there? You've fully incentivized more people to shoot more people because the people who are anti gun will be like Boy, if we threaten and we start shooting people, what does the government do? It takes away more people's guns. So that is the most trapdoor of a move you could possibly ever do. That's number one. Then he's upset about the polarization that's happening on social media. Well, I agree that that's happening, but it was your party that admittedly was working with, and you might argue a fascist type way, because fascism is when the government worked with, with giant corporations to silence all of us and manipulate and de boost and demonetize and everything else, particularly during COVID and around the 2020 election and everything else. So I don't like you very much, Mark Kelly, but I don't think anyone should kill you. That's the fundamental difference between what it seems to be, to be the most moderate position of someone on the right versus what a position, you know, whatever it is on the left at this point. Now, there is one or two guys, you know, who we're talking about, already on the left, who are not completely insane. One of them had horrific brain damage, and as his brain healed, he became more conservative. It's a rather interesting story that will make a hell of a movie one day. Of course, I'm talking about Mr. Hoodie Sweatshirt himself, John Fetterman. And here he is saying that he never really got why Trump wanted the ballroom. But, you know, after all the shooting, maybe he kind of gets it now. It's just absurd to me why we wouldn't have a more secure issue and
Guest/Commentator
have the kind of event just like the ballroom.
Dave Rubin
I never really had an issue with the ballroom before all that, but clearly what happened there, I can't imagine why we can't just agree, like, look, I don't have to love everything about it. You know, we do need that kind of a facility.
Guest/Commentator
And, you know, the President may not
Dave Rubin
even be in office when it's even finished. So how it would stun, but our
Guest/Commentator
country deserves that, and that's going to
Dave Rubin
create a venue for more secure and inclusive and really more accessible for people. I don't know what he means by inclusive there, but we'll let that go. First off, remember guys, the ballroom that they are building right now is not costing taxpayers a dime. It is privately funded. Not one dime. You will not have paid for this ballroom, by the way. It never popped into my mind, I literally mean this. It never popped into my mind until the last couple days that Trump's intention with the ballroom had anything to do with security. Right. The guy goes everywhere all the time. Despite the threats, it never crossed my mind that maybe this had something to do with. So that they would have a venue at the White House, an indoor venue. They do a lot of stuff outdoors, an indoor venue that would be better suited, related to security, if they want to have hundreds or thousands of people inside at the same time. So I think there is something legit there. So again, it's not going to cost you a dime. And there obviously are some security reasons that it is legitimate. But this, I thought this was super interesting. So this is my buddy Jimmy Fallow over on Fox. He does the Saturday night late night show over there and he was doing red carpet stuff at the White House car. And here he is caught on a hot mic before the shooting, before the shooting. And listen to what he was saying about the lack of security at the Hilton.
Guest/Commentator
I love that they have like two random chicks holding the front door open. We're not even trying anymore.
Dave Rubin
That's just off the cuff stuff. Before the shooting, now, were there, there were metal detectors. People have shown pictures of it. It is. I've also seen reports and peopleone or two people who I know who were saying that security was seriously lax, that not everyone had to go through that. Hopefully the FBI will look into all of that stuff and they'll do a full autopsy, no pun intended, on the entire thing and figure out what worked or what didn't. But it is fairly obvious as the temperature keeps getting ramped up by the Democrats, that doing things at the Hilton Hotel or a lot of these things are at massive convention centers. You know, many of the political things that I've been to over the years, the Turning Point events, et cetera, they're at huge convention centers where there are dozens of entries and people can get in all sorts of ways. And the question is, in the climate that we seem to be in right now, is it worth having a facility at the White House itself that would make these things more secure? I see no reason for. For no reason to not do that, especially again, because we're not paying for it. But hopefully everything can get toned down or turned down, and then the President would be able to be doing more of these things out there. Here is Dan Bongino with a rather intense request for Temu Obama. Hakeem Jeffries.
Guest/Commentator
Hey, I gotta address one thing, though.
Dave Rubin
Yeah, go ahead.
Guest/Commentator
Sorry, you addressed earlier, Hakeem Jeffries, talking about this civility thing. Listen, Hakeem, we're not asking for civility, guy. We're just asking that your Democrats just
Dave Rubin
stop trying to shoot President Trump.
Guest/Commentator
Okay, we're not.
Dave Rubin
Forget civility. We don't give a damn if you're
Guest/Commentator
nice and if you write respectfully at the end of your emails, just please stop trying to shoot the President. Like, is that. Can we just agree on that? Mr. Jeffries, I'm sorry. I just had to adjourn.
Dave Rubin
I was a little annoyed when I heard that. I really love Dan. He's just great. Look, he's right. Of course. Right. And Dan's a free speech guy. So, again, this is not that we want the government to come in. Now, I can speak for myself. I don't want the government to come in and force ABC's hand on Kimmel. But that's really. That's just one symptom of the much larger disease right now. And the disease is what we showed you with Dan Goldman, and the disease is what we showed you with Lenny Charlemagne. And the disease is what we've been showing you with Hasan and Blood in the streets and Rick Scott's not for universal health care. Go kill him. And the rest of it. Like, they are testing and testing and testing. You know what this is? Maybe we can make a meme about this. It's Jurassic Park. Remember at the end of Jurassic park, like that last half hour, that great moment with the Raptors when they're trying to break into the kitchen and you suddenly realize they can open the door and they're testing, right? They're testing and they're tapping and they're testing that. Can we grab that? Maybe we grab that image or we'll throw it at the end of the show or something. And they're just trying to make. See what they can do. And you realize they're learning. They're quite literally learning, and they're learning together. Well, that's kind of what the Democrats are right now. They're a bunch of Raptors and they are testing the system and seeing how far they can pull and push. And, you know, it's ironic. I think I really nailed this one. They are trying to open that door. Or in this case, the Pandora's box that I mentioned earlier. Do we have the image of that crazy hook that the velociraptor have? We're working on it. Trying to open up that door. And once they. Again, once they open up that door, we can do the exact same thing on our side. And it will not be just and it will not be right or anything else. And there you go. That's it right there. Right? That's it right there. So you what A great. I saw that in the theater, I think, on opening night, 1994, if I'm not mistaken. Yeah. Siasitraplex, Long Island. And that. The smoke out of the, out of his nose, the little steam right there and then. Yeah, he's testing that door. And that's what they are doing right now. Chef iq. And then more on the other side. Chef IQ Sense is the wireless cooking thermometer that takes all the guesswork out of holiday meals. Whether it's turkey or prime rib, your food comes out perfect every time. Turning, I think it's done into. I know it's perfect. It even tells you when to flip, when to take off the heat, and how long to let it rest. It's basically like having a personal chef right in your kitchen. With Chef iq, you can sip your cocoa and actually enjoy time with your family instead of hovering over the oven. And here's the best part. It's the gift everyone will love. It's perfect for seasoned cooks, kitchen rookies, and everyone in between. This season, give yourself and your loved ones the gift of perfectly cooked meals with Chef IQ. And with promo code Rubin, you can save 30% and finish your holiday shopping in one shot. Go to chefiq.com and use promo code Rubin. All right, so let's talk about some of the other threats that are happening right now. You guys know Nick Shirley. Nick Shirley, the very unassuming, I always call him a kid, young man who went to Minnesota to see about the fraud at the Quality Leering center and all of these daycare centers that apparently were not taking care of children and then started looking into hospices where they were not taking care of, taking care of old people who were on the verge of death. And in essence has exposed hundreds of millions of dollars of fraud of federal money going to these largely Somali run schemes in the state of Minnesota, which are deeply connected to not only Ilhan Omar, but Tim Walz, who quite literally is not running for governor again for reelection, even though he wanted to be vice president because he's caught in the scheme himself, hears Nick Shirley about some of the threats he has faced. As two months ago or three months ago, he was not known by anybody, and now basically everyone knows who he is.
Guest/Commentator
The threats and the risk are actually very real. In fact, today, April 27th is a day that I'm supposedly supposed to die according to a threat made on the Internet. In fact, it's a photo of me in a ditch with a decapitated head that says, this is going to be you on 4-27-2026 in a muddy ditch alongside the highway with your mother. Enjoy your last couple of months, buddy. So I share this not to scare people, but to more so show them what it's actually like kind of being in, in the political climate, not just seeing it from the outside, but being someone who's actually living through it. Especially with the last assassination attempt on Donald Trump. The threats are real and you do have a small percentage of the country, even if it's just 1%, that has gone radical.
Dave Rubin
All right, there's a couple of things to talk about here. Look, he was just some guy that was like, I'm going to look into something. Does he strike you as someone that really wants fame, really wants what now is coming to him? Does he strike you as someone that's like money hungry or something like that? Like, he went and did what the mainstream media is supposed to do. He just started doing a little exploration, a little investigative reporting and he's getting crazy. Death threats, you know, I get all sorts of threats, all sorts of threats. And sometimes I have to have police cars outside of my house. I got crazy amount of cameras here. We have other security things we have, sometimes we have people that are, that are working here on site. I don't like talking about it. I don't like getting into it or anything else. We've been doxxed all sorts of crazy stuff. Right. To me, it now unfortunately is just baked into doing what I do right. And you know, Charlie paid the ultimate price for doing what we do. But it does not have to be the this way. And I suspect that the people who are the equivalents of say, me and Nick Shirley and Charlie Kirk and ironically, Donald Trump, the equivalents of us on the left, I don't think they're dealing with these kind of threats. Now that doesn't mean they don't happen at all. They obviously do. But again, it is not a 5050 situation. Now, the irony about Nick Shirley. Oh, wait, can you throw up the screenshot there of what he showed you? So apparently the guy who made the death threat, his screen name, I guess on X is Joey Mountains. Now, what's particularly interesting about this is that guy's got the blue check. That means that his account, you only can get the blue check if you're verified on Twitter, meaning you've connected your account to a credit card. So I suspect that that right now is being looked at by the FBI or the doj and we will see what comes of that. Like these people all often are not the brightest bulbs Available. Anyway, what is it that put Nick Shirley on the map? It's that he exposed the fraud in Minnesota. And then what happened yesterday? Well, there were absolutely massive, the biggest yet FBI raids in Minneapolis.
Guest/Commentator
Large scale raids targeting federal fraud currently underway. Federal agents seem leaving the Quality Learning center center. And Brooke Taylor has more on that and what they're looking for.
Dave Rubin
Brooke, good morning.
Hi, Bill. Good morning. Yeah, we have had a photographer there at the daycare since this morning capturing video of those federal agents just going in and out of the building collecting evidence as part of the DOJ's fraud investigation in Minnesota. Take a look at this video here. Sources tell Fox that federal agents are rating about 22 businesses across Minneapolis this morning. And sources say many of them are tied to Somali owned operations. All of this comes after that viral YouTube video from Nick Shirley. It was back in December. In that video, he visited different child care centers. And you'll remember they were either closed or there were just no children inside, despite receiving state child care funding.
Okay, so 22 businesses in Minnesota, largely Somali run, are now being looked at because of Nick Shirley. And then what subsequently has happened to Nick Shirley? Well, he's got people threatening to kill him. Did he do anything bad? Did he do anything mean? Did he do anything racist or anything else? Obviously the answer to all of that is no. He quite literally did the reverse. But they've created the conditions that, oh, you're exposing fraud. There happens to be a lot of fraud in the Somali community. And by the way, Ayan Hurdle, Hirsi Ali, who I had on the show months ago, who is also Somali, she talked about how the Somali community, that it's kind of baked into some of their cultural norms to abuse a system as much as possible once you're in it. She talked about that from a Somali perspective. But now he's under death threat. And then this one is just wild. I honestly thought this was AI when I saw it yesterday for the first time. This is now Governor Tim Walls. To the backdrop of these raids that are happening, he wrote this. If you commit fraud in Minnesota, you're going to get caught. And that's exactly what we saw today. We catch criminals when state and federal agencies share information, joint investigations work and securing justice depends on it. That has got to win. The most ironic tweet of 2026, period. We can end it. End it. We're not even five months into this thing. End it right now. The guy who is in charge of the fraud, who's going to go down because of the fraud, who isn't running for reelection because of the fraud. He is now like, oh, who also accused ICE of being racist. And get out of our streets. And we're not going to work with you, and we're going to defund you and everything else. He's now. Because he sees that this thing can't be stopped. He suddenly is like, yeah, we love the FBI, and you guys could fix some of this stuff up and everything else. And, well, Kash Patel, head of our FBI, he saw that and he wrote this. Come again? This FBI and doj, with our DHS partners, drafted and executed every search warrant today. But go ahead and take credit for our work while we smoke out the fraud plaguing Minnesota under your governorship. Like, if you think that Tim Walls had anything to do with helping the federal government on this, well, I've got a quality leering center to sell you. Here's more of what's going on in Minnesota. And I was actually in Minnesota yesterday. We'll tell you why, in a couple days. But here is a speaker at the Minnesota State Capitol explaining to us once again that Somalis built Minnesota. They just. They were out there building the entire thing out of bananas and rice.
Apparently, Minnesotans. I mean, not Minnesotans. Somalis brought more than just. More than just built the economy. They didn't just build the economy, but we contribute to the soul of this great state. And I want to remind you that no human is illegal ever.
Can I get the translation on that one? Did anyone that was little my. No, no, we can't. He's like, dude, I'll do Chinese. I can't do Somali. Let me remind that lady that the phrase no human is illegal is completely idiotic. If I went to Canada today and I said, I'm Canadian, they would say, you're illegal. You have to go, we can do this in any country, so to say. No. Okay, so you want to tell us how great the Somalis have been for Minnesota? Fine. We'll have some numbers on that in just a second.
Guest/Commentator
But.
Dave Rubin
Okay, you want to tell us the Somalis built Minnesota. They didn't have the Mayo Clinic there or anything else before the Somalis. Fine, you want to tell us that? Okay. But don't tell me no one is illegal. And it's ironic you're telling us they built the place, and then you're also basically like, no one's illegal. The implication being is a whole bunch of them are illegal. Well, let me just give you some basic stats. This is from the center for Immigration Studies, and you can like them or you can not like them, but these are the stats. 81% of Somali households in Minnesota are on welfare. 73% are on Medicaid. 54% are on food stamps. 89% of Somali households with kids. Kids are on welfare. But they built Minnesota somehow. Now, again, I don't want you to be racist against them or have prejudice against them or anything else. Phoenix and I were at the Minnesota airport yesterday. Our waitress was Somali. She was very lovely, and we tipped her accordingly. Okay? So you have to treat people as individuals, but that doesn't mean you ignore overall patterns. And in this pattern, for whatever reason, the Somali community has not only been abusing the system via fraud, but they are taking way more out of the system than they are putting in. That just is reality. I'm sorry to say it. I'm also sorry that this lady's in Congress, and this is a doozy. So first, here's Ilhan mocking Americans who voted for Trump. And then the most viral video clip of the last two days, which was just extraordinary. These people are just idiots. I really. You know, I'm at the point where
it's become really hard to have an intellectual debate with any of these people. The dumbing of the United States has arrived, because how else do we get a Trump presidency again? The last time the Alien Enemies act was invoked, it was used to detain and deport German, Japanese, Italian immigrants during World War 11.
Did I hear that right? World War 11. Have I been in a coma, guys? Did something go down? So, of course what she's reading is the Roman numerals, World War II, and she thinks it's World War 11. Look, you know, you can read things and make mistakes. I do it sometimes. It happens. Sometimes you're reading a prompter, it might go too fast. You know, whatever it is, you look away. Something changes that. She read World War 11 and then didn't stop for one minute and think, what did I just say? What? What? World War 11. Does anyone remember World War 11? I think we actually have some video from World War 11, which I believe took place in Minnesota. It was the great bananas in rice war.
Guest/Commentator
This is war.
Dave Rubin
Charge for the bananas. For the bananas.
Guest/Commentator
Rice is ready.
Dave Rubin
Let's go.
Fire. For the alliance.
Charge for the phone. And we lost 252,000 good bananas during that war. Here's just to contrast where the parties are at right now. Let's step away from the fraud for a second. So you have one party that is completely. Well, not step away from the fraud. We're going to show you how you go against it. You have one party that is completely in bed with all of the fraud. And by the way, we could connect this to what we talked about last week with the Southern Poverty Law center funding the bad guys that they claim to be fighting. Like that's fraudulent. It's fraudulent when they fund things that don't actually do the things they're supposed to do, like, you know, childcare or hospices, et cetera. That's what the Democrats are doing. What are the Republicans doing? The Republicans are auditing the hell out of the government and trying to make sure that our dollars are actually spent properly. Here's Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.
Guest/Commentator
Discipline, accountability, and transparency. These are the basic fiscal standards that every American taxpayer should demand from their government. It's what you deserve, but also what the Pentagon has historically failed to execute on time and time again. Today, that changes, as it has during this administration. The era of excuses is over. Under President Trump, we will secure a clean, unquestionable audit on our 2028 financial statements. And it is a top priority for the Pentagon has been since day one.
Dave Rubin
What did I always tell you about Hegseth? They were going to hate him because of two things. Pedigree, ability to communicate, and that's it right there. The pedigree part is obvious. He works out with the troops. But the bigger part is he's an incredible communicator of the ideas and he's camera ready and a clear communicator, whether it was the Iran war, which in essence is on pause at the moment, or just talking about an audience that we're going to do. And that's the difference. Can you imagine, literally any Democrat pick a Democrat. Do you think any of them, the Democrats, they always want more of your money, but they never want to audit anything. Makes you wonder, you know, they always, they need a little more cash. They never want to tell you where the cash is going, how much cash they're wasting. And here you have the Secretary of the head of War. Hey, we're going to see what we're doing over here. And if we can cut, we're going to cut. And guess what? If we cut, you're going to have a little more money back to yourself. But now let's go back to the Democrats because while the Republicans are trying to keep the wheels on the car so we don't go off into the cliff, the Democrats are continuing to burn down everything that is right about this country. So let's go back to Tim Walz, a man who now is, as a moment ago, is just taking credit for the FBI going into Minnesota. Here he is with his real thoughts on ice. And then we experienced an unthinkable federal invasion of our state. For months, armed lawless gangs roamed our communities in a campaign of organized brutality. Families lived in fear. Children were separated from their parents, neighbors from neighbors. Minnesotans who had done nothing wrong were subjected to racial profiling and unlawful detentions. Armed lawless gang. Well, you know, someone might hear that and, you know, keep telling their gestapo and everything else, which is what he has said. You might shoot one of them, you might dox one of them, which is why they wear masks. Neighbor separated from neighbor. People who've done nothing wrong. It is wrong to illegally enter a country. If I went to Japan to have sushi with Jiro, I keep doing this one. Does he. Is he still in business? Is Jiro still. I don't think he's doing it. Jiro's semi retired, older. If you don't know the story of. What is it I dream of Jiro or Jiro or something? Yeah, the guy makes. An older Japanese guy that makes sushi, okay, really famous. If I went to Japan to have some sushi with him and then I just stayed there forever, I would be illegal. Everything they do is a lie. Everything they do. One of the other big lies that they've pushed on us repeatedly is that they are only withholding the DHS funding. This partial government shutdown we are in because they want to stop. They want to defund ICE. As I have pointed out, roughly 1 billion times, ICE is funded through 2029. It has nothing to do with DHS funding. So they are trying to extract maximum pain on you so that you will hopefully turn that pain on Trump. Here is Ro Khanna again, a guy who just every day this guy gets worse. Here he is with Brian Kilmeade.
Guest/Commentator
But you don't need to hope. You don't have to hold a segment of the country hostage that live paycheck to paycheck because you decide you thought ICE was over aggressive. So they changed the way they did. They put a new person in charge and you're still not funding it. It is just maddening. Congressman, they've got 75 billion already funded. And the real issue is that the Democrats want to fund tsa. We want to fund the Border Patrol. We want changes in ICE because we feel that ICE has been a rogue agency. But look, look, we should have a conversation about what we can do in immigration reform. To move this forward.
Dave Rubin
They're liars and extortionists. That's all they are. Again, he's just lying. The things are disconnected. So I get you want ICE to be reformed, but this isn't really the language. How about suck it, bitch? I think I could say that. That could be you. Right? It's just like, enough, dude. Stop lying over and over and over. And what else do they do besides lying? They also, they're liars. And they are also the racists. They're always saying we're racists, but they're the racists. Here they are admitting it. It's Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson.
Guest/Commentator
Been very intentional about making sure that my administration, unlike previous administrations, have people who work for me that reflect the community. Once upon a time. Just to be very blunt with you, two administrations ago, 70% of the mayor's administration were white men. Right. And that's just not a diversified approach.
Dave Rubin
A, who cares? B, you are quite literally breaking federal anti discrimination law. I know for whatever reason you're not going to pay the price for that. But you literally hire people based on the color of their skin. I hire people based on how little I can pay them. That's why I brought these people. No, I hire people based on whether they work hard and they're good and they're decent human beings. That's what you're supposed to do. So you're not only doing something illegal, you are doing something that inherently. This was the great trick they pulled on us on dei. No one's saying, don't hire black people. No one's saying only hire white people. What we're saying is in America, which is supposed to be a meritocracy, you hire the best people and only over time, that's how you make things better. But if you artificially say, we're going to bring in these people to do this thing based on the color of their skin, over time, the services will be degraded. Right? That is absolute. Your pilots will be worse. You know, I was on a Delta flight yesterday. Delta still, they still have their 2024 awards and they had a DEI sticker on the plane. I took a picture of it. Maybe we'll show it in the post game show. Like they still have that. But over time, if you say, okay, we want a certain amount of. Of pilots to be black and a certain amount of doctors to be Latino or whatever else. It's not that black people can't be doctors. They can. It's not that Latino people can't be lawyers or anything else. It's that you are discriminating thus. Well, first off, you're going to create a generation of people who've been discriminated against who actually will become racist. And in some sense it will be sensible racism in a weird way, but you will also degrade the service. Then things will get worse, which actually is kind of what the Democrats want. And to prove that everything they touch, they destroy. This story is so depressing because it was so obvious. So last year, ABC in New York, ABC News in New York did a story about a bodega owner who was worried about his safety. Right. Because the crime was running rampant. This is pre Mamdami, but the city's been going the wrong way for a long time. Well, a couple days ago, yeah, he was killed and they covered it.
Self spoke with Eyewitness News a year ago saying he worried about violence against bodega workers he'd seen on social media.

People got shot, killed sometimes got robbed, and never the police never responds.
Dave Rubin
Quick tonight, the organization is wondering if the person who shot Abdul Saleh was someone who shouldn't have been on the.
You know, in this case, Abdul Saleh sounds like he was Arab probably. They don't care about that. It's just you let crime run rampant and it's. That's even going to kill some of your own people. This is what they do in blue cities. I mean, just the fact that they did a story about the guy saying, I'm worried, and then a year later he's dead. But that is what's going on there. I thought Elon summed it up quite well in one of his many viral tweets. He saw that video we just showed you right there. He said if extremely violent criminals are not imprisoned, eventually they will murder innocent people. This is basic low level stuff. And until we become a serious country again, there will be pockets of in mostly blue states, in blue cities that continue to get worse and worse. I want to finish up with one thing which was sort of the other big story. I told you this is just a, like we're doing a lot today, which is that Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche says that former FBI director James Comey has now been indicted over his post which threatened to kill Donald Trump.

Go he knowingly and willfully making a threat to take the life of and to implement inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States. Count two, same day, May 15, 2025, that the defendant, James Comey knowingly and willfully transmitting in interstate commerce a communication that contained a threat to kill The President of the United States. Both of these counts carry a maximum term of imprisonment of 10 years. Other incidents of threats against the President of the United States, those will be investigated. There's one thing that will never be different, which is that you cannot threaten to kill the President of the United States, full stop.
Dave Rubin
Okay? You cannot threaten to kill the President of the United States. You also can't threaten to kill citizens of the United States. That is not protected. Free speech, as you may remember, what Comey did was this. I think we have the image right. He posted. He was on the beach and he posted this. It said 8647 in shells. Now, 86, of course, any of you who've ever been a bartender or a waiter or if you've worked in a restaurant or whatever, 86 is when they're out of something. 86. 86 the steak, we don't have anymore. 86 the filet, we're out. The implication is 86, take out. Everyone knew what he meant now, was he really? And he just posted that. And I think he. If I'm not mistaken, he said, basically, I didn't know what it was, or I thought it was funny or something like that. That I don't know. Do you throw the former FBI director in jail over that? I'm actually not sure what you do in these cases, but they keep. But again, this is the Raptor thing that I was saying about Jurassic Park. They're just testing the door a little bit. So the former FBI director will imply someone should kill the president. And you know, the biggest twitch streamer on the left, this Hasan guy will basically say, I understand why people killed Brian Thompson, the health care C. And then Lenny Big radio guy on the left, will say, I would understand why somebody might kill Trump. They're upset. And then everyone will keep saying they're Nazis and racists and everything else. And then eventually, do you think something might happen? But again, this is the challenge not only on the free speech side of what do we want to allow these people to say protect their free speech, but also, do you then want to start jailing people? I'm actually. I'm open to arguments on this one. But anyway, here's Comey's response to the

DOJ indictment, this time about a picture of seashells on a North Carolina beach a year ago. And this won't be the end of it. But nothing has changed with me. I'm still innocent. I'm still not afraid, and I still believe in the independent federal judiciary. So let's Go. But it's really important that all of us remember this is not who we are as a country. This is not how the Department of Justice is supposed to be. And the good news is we get closer every day to restoring those values.
Dave Rubin
Keep the fate even the way he ended that. We get closer every day to restoring these values. So once we get rid of Trump, cuz I don't like Trump, then we'll be better, right? Everything will be better, or we'll be more democratic or something like that. And it's just thin and it's not true. And by the way, if you're worried about a weaponized doj, you might want to look, look at what Biden's DOJ did to Donald Trump, right? Let's try to get him off ballots, let's make sure he can't do business in New York City, et cetera, assassination attempts as he's running for president, et cetera, et cetera. Let's go back to Senator Mark Kelly from Arizona. Here he is on the Comey indictment.

Hey, these are unprecedented times we're at here. I mean, we've never had a government that goes after perceived enemies like this and violate people's constitutional rights.
Dave Rubin
What are you talking about? We've never had that before. Do you know what you guys just did to Donald Trump? Do you know what you did to the January 6th grandmas? Do you know what you did to this group of people, including America's Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Trump's lawyers, who have been disbarred and everything else? Do you remember any of that? Any of it? Do you? Does anyone remember any of that? Let's just end real quick because obviously we haven't covered the Iran war in the last few days. We're in the midst of a very shaky ceasefire. There are some good things happening right now as we have the Strait of Hormuz blockaded, which is basically costing us nothing. It's costing Iran $500 million a day. That's 1.3 billion a month. That's also choking China on the energy side. Phoenix, roll for me a little bit. And what that in essence is doing is giving us leverage. We don't have to bomb in this case. We're using economic leverage to get Iran to come to the table. This is truth from Donald Trump. Iran can't get their act together. They don't know how to sign a non nuclear deal. They better get smart soon. President Donald J. Trump and, well, for those of you listening on the audio podcast, it says no more Mr. Nice Guy. And that's Trump holding what I believe is an AR15 with some things blowing up behind him. Do you think this is new negotiation Trump style or what? And here's a little update from Rubio as to where we're at at the moment.
Guest/Commentator
Do you believe the Iranians are serious about making a deal?
Dave Rubin
I think the Iranians are serious about getting themselves out of the mess that they're in. All the problems Iran had, they had riots a few months ago, and these were economic riots. All the problems that Iran had before the start of this conflict are still in place, and most of them are worse. And now they have half the missiles, none of the factories and no names. Yeah, so we've done something, guys. We don't have a resolution yet. It all doesn't happen overnight. It's not a forever war. We're exerting maximum leverage. I think everything's going to be fine. Don't be a panic in. I think I might have set the record for most words ever said in a Rubin Report episode today. I thank you guys for watching. Guys, we can't do a post game show today. I have to get to some. I have to get to freaking Midtown by 1 o'. Clock. I have to be there. I have to be there. I apologize. I'll make it up to you guys on Locals. Thanks for watching. See you tomorrow. Ciao.
Host: Dave Rubin
Date: April 29, 2026
In this episode, Dave Rubin delves into the escalating tensions in American political and media culture, focusing on the aftermath of an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump and the controversial jokes made by late night host Jimmy Kimmel about Melania Trump mere days before. Rubin explores the media’s role in fueling divisive rhetoric, the double standards in political speech, and broader issues of free speech, cancel culture, and media accountability. The episode also covers government corruption scandals, the rising danger to public figures and whistleblowers, and a snapshot of ongoing events in Minnesota and U.S.-Iran relations.
Kimmel (05:19): “It was a pretend roast... Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow. Which obviously was a joke about their age difference... It was not by any stretch a call to assassination.”
Rubin (09:34): “I am not personally calling for Jimmy Kimmel to be fired... The government shouldn’t force ABC to fire him—that would be a violation of the First Amendment...”
Rubin (21:09, discussing Tapper & Kimmel): “[CNN brings] in the guy who's making all the same exact jokes going the other way, and he's now the judge, jury and executioner about what jokes can be made. Do you see how absolutely insane that is?”
Charlemagne tha God (26:11): “The Trump administration has caused so much pain... some folks are fed up and willing to risk it all. Simple as that.” Wajahat Ali (28:42): “I think most of the country is just done. We're like, mother effer, just die... let the grim reaper come in and take you from your cankles.”
Rubin (29:06): “Once I take that next step to, oh, and, you know, I'll kind of get it if somebody blows your brains out. Well, guess what? It's... It's coming both ways. And truly, it would be the end of the American experiment.”
Shirley (44:05): “The threats and the risk are actually very real... a photo of me in a ditch with a decapitated head that says, this is going to be you on 4-27-2026. I share this... to show what it's actually like in the political climate...”
Rubin (48:10): “He is now like, oh, who also accused ICE of being racist... he's now [suddenly] like, yeah, we love the FBI…”
Omar (53:15): “World War 11” (intended to refer to World War II).
Rubin (34:18): “An armed population is a safe population... just because someone had a gun does not mean and had horrible intentions, doesn't mean you take away our God given rights.”
Blanche, Acting Attorney General (63:28): “You cannot threaten to kill the President of the United States, full stop.” Comey (65:40): “But nothing has changed with me. I'm still innocent. I'm still not afraid, and I still believe in the independent federal judiciary.”
Johnson (59:50): “Very intentional about making sure that my administration... reflect the community. Once upon a time... 70% of the mayor's administration were white men... that's just not a diversified approach.”
Hegseth (55:02): “Discipline, accountability, and transparency. These are the basic fiscal standards that every American taxpayer should demand from their government.”
Trump (verbatim Truth Social): “Iran can’t get their act together... They better get smart soon.”
Dave Rubin’s episode is a sprawling critique of modern American political culture, media hypocrisy, and the dangerous spiral of escalating rhetoric and violence. He tries to hold the free speech line—even for speech he deplores—while skewering the left for double standards, rising extremism, and institutional decay, all against the backdrop of real violence (Trump attempt), real threats (to whistleblowers), and governmental dysfunction.
For listeners seeking context behind the Jimmy Kimmel controversy, or broader insight into how political rhetoric is shaping American society, this episode provides a sharp, provocative, and unfiltered perspective.
