Hey everybody, I'm Dave Rubin and this is First Look. It's Tuesday, July 7, 2026. We've got a packed show for you today. A new bombshell accusation hits Maine Senate hopeful Graham Platner from a former girlfriend President Trump rings the New York Stock Exchange opening bell to launch his game changing Trump savings accounts for American kids in Another serious scandal is rocking the Maine Senate race. Graham Platner, already a scandal scarred candidate hoping to take on Susan Collins, is now facing a disturbing rape accusation from his ex girlfriend, Jenny Racicot. Racicot came forward to Politico backed by correspondence with her therapist and multiple confidants she told at the time. She says the incident happened in 2021 after she had texted Platner that she didn't want to see him and told him not to come over. Platner allegedly entered her unlocked home anyway and she described him as very drunk and wouldn't take no for an answer. Racicot described telling him no, don't, but said the look on his face made it clear there was no consent. She gave a graphic account of Platner coming up the stairs and getting on top of her on the couch and getting physical. Despite her repeated refusals. She broke away once, but he continued. She retreated to her bedroom where she alleges he had non consensual sex with her. The two had met on Bumble in 2019 and had an on again off again relationship. Under Maine law, the statute of limitations for rape is 20 years. RACAT did not file a police report at the time, but but later confided in a man she dated afterward who confirmed her account to Politico. She also referenced the incident in emails to her therapist and old Facebook messages. Racicot was briefly mentioned in last month's New York Times story on Platner, but kept this allegation off the record at the time. She explained her hesitation, one of the reasons I didn't come forward sooner was the huge moral conflict that I had between supporting his politics but not supporting him as a person. She added, I know that he is capable of putting his hands on women. This comes after Platner's infamous 2013 Reddit comment suggesting women who get drunk and are raped should take some responsibility. Racicot also recalled him saying things like he would rape them to show them that I'm dominant. Platner has vehemently denied the accusations, calling them troubling, serious and false, and insisting any accusation of non consensual behavior is categorically false. He has indefinitely postponed key campaign events and is evaluating the future of his campaign to defeat Susan Collins. Now for some outstanding news. President Trump rang the opening bell for the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq right from the Oval Office to launch his administration's new Trump Savings Accounts, a bold initiative to make the next generation of Americans rich. Trump was joined by corporate executives who have contributed and a group of nine excited young children. It was the first time a sitting president has ever rung the New York Stock Exchange opening bell. Nearly 6 million Americans have already signed up for these tax advantaged accounts, which are open to any child under 18. An estimated 1.4 million kids born between 2025 and 2028 have qualified for an initial $1,000 seed from the government. The money can be invested in index funds and ETFs focused on American companies. Trump told the kids they are soon to be very rich people. The accounts grow tax free until age 18, when they convert to a traditional Iraq. Families, employers, charities and churches can contribute up to $5,000 per year. Experts say even the basic $1,000 could grow to $10,000 or $20,000 by adulthood with smart investing. Trump was fired up, cutting off Treasury Secretary Scott Bessen to ring the large gold bell inscribed Trump account's first trading day. He joked that he's keeping the bell in the White House for the new ballroom. Major donors were on hand, including Michael Dell and his wife, who contributed a massive $6.25 billion. Singer Nicki Minaj also pledged $300,000 for accounts set up by her fans. The president shouted out companies stepping up, including Uber, Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs, Visa, Rich, Robinhood, mastercard, Intel, IBM, amd, Rusk Industries, Steak n Shake and many others that are either contributing or adding the accounts to employee benefits. Treasury Secretary Besant called it one of the president's most enduring legacies, especially on the heels of America's 250th anniversary.
