I did not realize that the Dark Knight was a documentary denied entry into Egyptian waters. Now, I know one of our panelists is gay, so I want to give you a chance first. Ben.
Lulu Garcia-Navarro
Sorry, sorry.
Dave Rubin
I thought I just outed you. Did I just out there? What's going on, everybody? I'm Dave Rubin. This is the Rubin Report. It is Monday, July 20, 2026. That's right, 10 days from now. July 30th is our last day before I go off the grid. We will have a special show for you on the 31st that I'm very excited about. We're doing a little something special. But my last live show before August, off the grid, before disappearing from the madness and the muck and the mire, is 10 days from today. Hope you all had a great weekend. I wanted to address something real quick. Today's show, I can tell you the rundown very easily. It is 90% just the evil communist socialist lunacy that has burst forth and the steroid part of it is now kicking in. It's getting worse and worse. The rhetoric is ramping up and all that stuff. Let's put that aside for one second because I saw the Odyssey over the weekend. I am not gonna. I'm gonna just address this for one minute. I'm not gonna give you any spoilers or anything, but if you do not want to hear anything about anything, you might wanna mute for the next 60 seconds. But I'm not gonna give any spoilers. I'm not gonna say a word about the plot. I wanna talk a little bit for a moment about the narrative around it. Because, you know, we covered, and everybody online was covering that there was gonna be all this wokeness in the movie and the odd, admittedly odd casting of Elliot Page, who is. Who was Ellen Page, beautiful young girl who Nolan had worked with X Men and a bunch of stuff. And then Lupita Nyong' o was in it, which was obviously miscast because the chances that back then, 3,000 plus years ago, although it is a fictitious story, that there would have been a black woman, just. Okay, there was all this stuff and everybody and what I said last week when we covered it was, you know what? I'm not gonna get pre outraged. I was curious about some of the casting for sure. And I was. And as it comes to anything that comes out of Hollywood, I'm always worried about the wokeness stuff, but I was like, I just didn't wanna prejudge it. I just wanna say one quick thing about the movie. It was spectacular. It really. I tweeted it was a masterpiece. I tweeted it was an absolute masterpiece. The responses were psychotic. If you go on Twitter and look at the responses to that tweet, psychotic. And I don't know if people were like, did you get who bought you out? Who paid you to say this and everything?
Jake Tapper
I don't know.
Dave Rubin
I went to a movie with a couple friends. Then I had a thought about the movie. But I will just say this quick. If your argument is that it wasn't a perfect adaptation of the 3,000 year old story the Odyssey, right by Homer, right then. Look, I read it when I was in high school. I don't even fully remember the story. You know, it's all, It's I think 24 different poems that were within to create the whole story. If your argument is that it wasn't perfect to the source material, that's fine, that's fine. I'm sure there were some things that, that were missed, but there was nothing woke in it. There really wasn't. There was no woke messaging. There was two or three odd casting choices. I thought the casting was a little bit off, but Elliot Page and Lupita Nuengo were barely in the movie. I would say comb about 8 minutes of screen time. The rest of it from Matt Damon, who was spectacular, to the story itself and weaving in and out of timelines. It was really just wonderful. So the only reason I'm even mentioning any of that is go see it, I would say, before you want to destroy it. You know, we live in this strange time. There's so little good that comes out of Hollywood these days. There's so little stuff that is water cooler stuff. But there is something water cooler today because so many people saw it over the weekend. It's obviously going to be the biggest movie of the year. And I guess more than anything, just don't pre hate something. It was pretty damn good. And again, the source material, I get that, right? Like the Transformers movies, they all wreck all of the source material. They're all terrible, whatever, but they're terrible movies. Outside of the source material, this was a good movie. Either way. I think you will enjoy it. And I'm just glad that I didn't get caught in like the pre hatred stuff. I just don't have the energy for that at 50 years old. All right, let's dive in. We got a whole bunch from Bill Maher and John Fetterman and just the socialists that are going crazy. And then we end with something really beautiful from Marco Rubio. So let's dive in. It's Mondays. We'll do a little Mondays with Maher. Real time is off for July, but Bill did a little press around his Kennedy Center Award that I went to. What was that about two weeks ago, which will be up on Netflix, I think later, I think in August they're
Caleb Hammer
going to air it.
Dave Rubin
In any event, he's doing a little press as he's going off for his summer break. And here he is admitting, you might argue, finally, that his vote is up in the air when it comes to 2028.
Mark Warner
You told J.D.
Dave Rubin
vance, you're open, your vote is up for grabs.
Bill Maher
Yes, my vote is in play because it can't be Trump running. So I'm not living in communist America. I mean, I know the talking point is that it's not communism, it's socialism. Okay. I've read the quotes from the DSA platform from their own mouths. Don't tell me I'm not seeing what I am seeing. And dsa, again, they say things like, you know, takeover of key industries, government. That's communism.
Mark Warner
Could you see yourself voting for J.D.
Gustavo Gordillo
vance?
Bill Maher
Yes, if this is the Democratic side, yes.
Dave Rubin
So this every time we play a clip of Bill Maher, we do it on Mondays, every time we play one of these clips and I gently nudge him and then I look in the comments and people send us emails and all sorts of. Everyone always says, dave, you know, he's never gonna get there. He's never gonna get there. Well, here we are. And for him to say, I could vote for J.D. vance, J.D. who might be further right than Donald Trump, that is quite a statement. But in essence, what he's saying is, well, I'm gonna sneeze again. I sneezed on the show last week. Oh, I think I got it. I've paused the sneeze to sneeze back to back weeks.
Bill Maher
That would be weird.
Dave Rubin
I don't know what's going on here. It's the summer in Miami. There's a lot of stuff flying around. But in some sense, it's not even a commentary on the Republicans. Right. What he's fully making is a commentary on the Democrats. I will not vote for socialism. He's also coming around to the idea that it doesn't matter whether you call it communism or socialism or democr socialism or anything else. They want complete government takeover of everything. And for somebody that is an old school liberal that believes in individual rights and you should be Able to marry who you want to marry and smoke what you want to smoke and live your life as you see fit. That's just not going to work. So it's an important moment because Bill represents a huge swath of that moderate liberal who just hasn't known what to do. Maybe he said, because it's not Trump' so maybe there's a little TDS still there, but Trump's gonna be out of the picture. And could he vote for J.D. well, he just said it right there. Could he vote for Rubio? I think that would be pretty obvious that he could, and there might be several others, especially if it's in the face of what clearly the Democrat Party is becoming. Here he is on what the Democrat Party is becoming.
Bill Maher
Democrats are cowardly. Yeah, they're cowardly. Their party is being taken over now by, you know, every day I hear about a new very radical. I feel very good about, like 10, whenever years ago. Like, I did lose fans because, you know, I wasn't gonna go along with some of this crazy stuff on the left, too. I didn't change really, on what I thought about the right, but just I can't sit and just not notice stuff which people seem to want to do because it's all about my team or your team.
Dave Rubin
Yeah, that's right. A lot of people do want to bury their head in the sand. And as it comes to doing that now, that just means you're going to get beheaded a little bit lower on the neck. You know, it reminds me of a phrase that I first heard. I've said it on the show a few times, but my friend Melissa Chan, who's been on many times, said it years ago that you want to be a Dem in the sheets and a Republican in the streets, meaning whatever. Again, whatever you do in your own private life, it's up to you. Live however you want to live. You want to call yourself Mary and put on a dress when you were born Fred. Okay, fine. Nobody cares. Do what you want. Dem in the sheets, Republican in the streets. Meaning Republicans have a better way of guarding the border, making sure that cities are safe, taking care of things that need to be taken care of. It's sort of like you would want a Republican guarding the door. Well, again, it's the line about that Douglas Murray always says about the barbarians will be at the gate one day and we'll be debating what gender pronouns to call them. Like, we don't want to be hacking away at the guy holding the door. Hodor in that Game of Thrones Thing you don't want to be slicing his Achilles while he's holding the door and all the white walkers or whoever the hell was trying to get into the. Yeah, I did it. Okay, pretty good. That really is the point. But also he said the Democrats are cowardly. And this is what I would say about the non total lunatics. Again, they're not great, they're not even good. But the Chuck Schumers, the Timu Obama, Hakeem Jeffries types, all the, you know, the Josh Shapiro's to some extent Fetterman's, the only one that I would say is a little bit better. But the rest of them, they don't really stand for anything. They were kind of for big government and all of these programs that weren't great. And okay, fine, and now the insurgents are coming in and what do they all keep saying? I mean, we've shown you many videos of this. Cory Booker would be another good example. Well, we're big tent, except you can't be a big tent party when you're allowing the arsonists to come in who are literally telling you we wanna burn down the tent. That's what they're saying. We're using the Democrat Party. Bernie is not really a Democrat, he's a socialist communist. But the Democrats don't know how to stand for anything. Here's a little bit more from Bill.
Bill Maher
And it's not just a few people anymore. I read every day I read about a new person in some Colorado and Wisconsin, somebody who is saying some variation of not defund the police, abolish the police, no prisons, no police. Like what world do they think we could possibly live in under these conditions? So I'm not living in communist America. I mean, I know the talking point is it's not communism, it's socialism. Okay? I've read the quotes from the DSA platform from their own mouths. Don't tell me I'm not seeing what I am seeing.
Dave Rubin
Again. You might be watching this, going welcome to the party, pal, or you're late here or whatever. It does not matter. What he is now doing is opening the door for some of those libs to wake up and realize what's going on. And we are only, as you know, you know, three plus months away from that midterm that will literally, in this case, I see no way around it, decide the future of the country. Now when he says I won't live in a communist country, it's like, well, Cali will fall to communism before Florida will, right? New York will fall to communism. Before Texas will. So that also is the strength of states rights and what our founding documents and federalism were about. Things that these communists seem to want to shred right in front of our faces. But I am quite elated, Bill, that you are coming around on all of this stuff and what a great opportunity. And I think this is where Trump and the other Republicans should really hear that and then be sensitive to that and go, instead of saying what the Democrats are saying is we're wide tent join us to burn the thing down. Trump should be Trump. And whatever messaging is coming out of the Republicans right now should be okay, you guys all see the communist lunatics come here. You can't completely alter everything that the Republican Party stands for, but you will be welcomed in the same way Dave Rubin was welcomed in and Bobby Kennedy, et cetera, et cetera. He also makes the point that what we're seeing now is that, oh, it's starting to happen in Colorado and I think he said Minnesota and some other places. And remember a year ago when Dzorhan was on the rise. What I kept saying was, what I was worried about is not necessarily that New York was going to take the hit, because that was going to be obvious if he became mayor, but that for about a year or so you can fake all the communist stuff. You can fake the budgets. You know, he got a bailout from the state that took care of budgets in the city and that if you could scale it for a year, you'd start seeing it pop up across the country. And now we are seeing that. That was Bill's point. You're suddenly seeing it in all of these random places. And again, the Democrat Party has no defense against this. It's the Alien movie. This is what I wrote in Don't Burn this Country. It's the alien infecting the host. And if you remember the end of the original Alien movie, the Doctor who turn out to be. He turns out to be a humanoid Android robot. He kind of admires it because it's doing exactly what it wants, which is in this case, destroying the host and killing everybody on board the ship, which is not far from what the Democrats are trying to do. Speaking of such, here is Zorhan Mamdami talking to Lulu Garcia over on the New York Times podcast about what great stuff they've been doing in New York.
Zorhan Mamdani
I think that for all of the fear mongering around Democratic socialism, the best response is to show what it actually means. And what we've shown over the last six months is exactly that We've shown that a city with a democratic socialist vision is one that paves more than 170,000 potholes, 50,000 more than the prior administration by this point. It's a city that has delivered the lowest recorded number of shootings and shooting victims and murders in New York City's history.
Dave Rubin
Okay, first off, they don't report and record shootings and certain crimes anymore because of his policies. So that is not true. I would like to congratulate him on some of the potholes that they fixed. That's very impressive. That's not democratic socialism. That's basic decent governance. Of course, this weekend in New York City, look at this. Out of Queens, they're going to need some more potholes to fill up the water because, yes, they have water mains exploding and floodwater cascading down subway steps in Queens. So it's like, we can all play this game, dude. You know, like, you can play this. All right, Congratulations, you did some potholes. Like, that's very impressive. And there's always potholes in New York City and they get fixed sometimes and then they blow up again. But it's not about that. It's about the amount of money that is fleeing the city and jobs and functional people. Did we get the amount of money? How much? It was a 12 billion budget. There's basically a $12 billion budget gap in New York City right now. And it is only going to get worse. And we all know that. So you might go, well, why is it, despite all of this, despite the long history of communism, despite the obvious stuff that's happening in these Democrat cities and everything else, why is it that these ideas seem to be popular? Why are they gaining traction, particularly with young people? And there's many explanations for that. I would say it's. It's poor parenting, probably, number one, it's a complete state funded education system that they always want to make bigger and they want to get your kids in earlier and earlier.
Jake Tapper
Right.
Dave Rubin
They want pre K government funded schools. It's not because they want to teach them anything. It's because they want to program them into clone soldiers. But we do have to admit that they have done this. They have done it on our watch. And it's literally all of our faults. It really is. I want to show you this. We've shown you a couple of videos of this guy, Caleb Hammer. He does like a financial podcast where he brings on these young people usually to expose how they just don't know anything about anything. And watch this girl, she's just kind of standard woke communist. She feels things very, very deeply. And he's just about had it with her. These people have to have multiple jobs in order to sustain a lifestyle.
Caleb Hammer
Some people. Not the median American. Not the median American. Some people.
Dave Rubin
Yes, American. Relying on minimum wage.
Caleb Hammer
What percentage of the American population is relying on federal minimum wage?
Gustavo Gordillo
I don't know.
Caleb Hammer
Cause you don't know anything. You just have.
Dave Rubin
I don't know anyone who's making the federal money.
Caleb Hammer
No, this is. It's just knowing facts about our country.
Dave Rubin
But I've met people across the world.
Caleb Hammer
No, it doesn't matter who you've met, lady. That's not what changes statistics. You need to disconnect from that. Your anecdotal collection of bull is not the real world. It isn't.
Dave Rubin
I'm trying to meet people.
Caleb Hammer
What percent do you think makes the federal minimum wage in the United States?
Lulu Garcia-Navarro
I know that.
Caleb Hammer
What do you think? What person? No. Answer the question or I am ending this podcast. Answer the question.
Dave Rubin
I don't know.
Caleb Hammer
Answer what you think. Thirty percent. It's less than 1%. You know nothing. It's less than 1%. You know nothing. You're outraged, you're performative. You're virtue signaling more.
Dave Rubin
But how do you really feel? Anyway, you don't have to watch that show or care about that girl or anything else. But the reason I show you that is that what she represents, she just feels. Feels these things. She has no evidence of it. She's young. She's obviously never built anything in her life or really done anything. It's not about her specifically, but the Democrats are handing the keys to the castle to people like her. And again, the moderate Dems, they don't know how to stop it, or they're just allowing it because they don't want to be eaten by the revolution. But hint, hint, you still get beheaded. The revolution comes for everybody. But these are the ridiculous policies that they are putting in. This is Bernie Sanders 15 years ago. What was he screaming? I want $10 minimum wage. And then somebody else further to the left was like, it should be $12. Why they sound like Bernie, I don't know. And then someone else came in. It should be 15. And then when that happened, then I remember about six years ago, Rashida Tlaib, Hamas member in Congress, she was like, it should be a $25 minimum wage. And it's like, yeah, lady, you're actually right. Because you, all of you are basing all of this on nothing, right? So why not tell the guy who opens up a burger joint or a shoe store or he's a handyman, that if he hires somebody it has to be some artificial price that he has to hire the kid that he's training to do it. Minimum wage jobs are for entry level positions, so these people understand absolutely nothing. But again, the evil that they are importing is extremely dangerous and it is going to scale right now. So we are going to have to think about that. We'll have more on that in just a second. But let me talk to you about Ethos. Guys, There comes a point in life when your priorities start to change. You start thinking less about the next vacation or the new gadget and more about your family, your home, and whether you've properly planned for the future. It may not be the most exciting subject, but as a father, life insurance is something I take seriously. If something happened to me, the last thing I'd want is for my family to face the financial stress on time, top of everything else. That's why Ethos is worth checking out. The process is entirely online. You can apply in minutes and you may not need a medical exam. Coverage can go up to $3 million and some policies start around 30 bucks a month. It's easy to keep putting this off, but Ethos makes taking that responsible step incredibly straightforward. Take 10 minutes to get covered today with life insurance through Ethos. Get your free quote@ethos.com rubin that's e t h o s.com rubin so let's continue with the Dems. They are completely out of control again. It is scaling across the country. It's exactly what Bill Maher said. Now it's popping up in all these places. It's exactly what I warned about with Mamname. He is the titular head of the party right now. And well, here's AOC in Tennessee. And tell me, does this sound like Jenny from the block? Does this sound like her normal New York accent or is she faking it like all the Democrats do? You know, Hillary, hot sauce in my bag. Listen to this fake. Well, I won't say it.
Lulu Garcia-Navarro
About a month or two ago, we were in Montgomery, Alabama. Sister Presley and I were in Montgomery, Alabama. One of the things that we said was that it is time for the north to roll up to the South. We cannot afford to let leave Tennessee behind. We cannot afford to leave Kentucky behind. Alabama behind, Mississippi behind, Georgia behind, South Carolina behind.
Dave Rubin
The other day I was having a hot chicken sandwich outside of Nashville, you understand? And I got my sweet tea and that sweet tea was really sweet. And I went up to the man who poured the sweet tea. And I said, thank you Lord, for bringing me this sweet tea and this hot chicken. Do you have any of the spices I can take when I go up north and show them Yankees? What? What is she doing? Why does anyone fall for any of this? I need August to come. I can't take it. I cannot take it anymore. These people are deranged, they are evil, they are faker than anything. They are faker than whatever's going on with Donald Trump's skin color. Okay, you get it, guys?
Jake Tapper
What?
Dave Rubin
Someone sat there. My issue that's really resonating with me. My sister's over here and we done gone did that over there.
Jake Tapper
What?
Dave Rubin
She was there to campaign for this guy, Justin Pearson. Remember this guy? Look, we got two pictures. That's him five years ago. He was like a student Democrat leader. And look at him now. And he's the one who was dancing like a lunatic. They are all performative larping little theater kids who all should be pushed back in the closet. Well, the closet actually. Yes, but they should be pushed back in the locker from whence they came. A little high school bullying would do these people good. Phoenix roll for me anyway then, then up in Michigan. It's happening up in Michigan. Look at this. This is. Now see if you listen to what the Democrats are saying. They are the party that is diverse. They're bringing in the black people and the brown people and the Hispanic people and the other people. They're all coming and they're having the thing over there. But if you go over to Michigan where Abdul Al Said is campaigning. Look at this crowd. Look at this middle aged, fat, low T mask wearing. None of you have ever been on the elliptical machine or lifted a weight. These are all. And I'm not against white people. You people are against against white people. But look at this, look at that. Where are the black people? Where are the brown people? Where's anyone who's ever seen a CrossFit? Look at these pathetic losers. Dimmies. You're all dimmies. You want to live in a Sharia compliant society. And why do they love you? Because you're already on your knees submitting to Allah for them. What are the numbers? 69% of the people in Michigan.
Jake Tapper
Wait, sorry.
Dave Rubin
69% of black voters are voting for Abdul Syed's opponent. Okay, so it's these pathetic middle aged pudgy. Put your finger in them. And it's like it's not even the Pillsbury Doughboy. Who is the bad guy in Batman? Clay man or Clayface, you'd go to punch him and then your hand would just go sucked into the fat we got. Here's AOC again. And look at her toning down the rhetoric.
Lulu Garcia-Navarro
You deserve a politics that treats the disease and not just the symptoms of what brought us Donald Trump that doesn't negotiate with or placate corruption, but one that defeats it once and for all.
Dave Rubin
Ah, yes, yes, yes. We are the disease. And they, oh, somehow they're not the corrupt ones. It's all of their cities with China, giant money laundering schemes and deep corruption and they are literally stealing money from you and they have giant government programs that do nothing. Imagine what these people would do if they had power. They would shred every norm. They would be jailing people left and right. They are out of control, completely out of control. Here is open Hamat's supporter, Rashida Tlaib, who should be denaturalized and deported. She's also campaigning and she's very excited. She's working with aoc and of course, course they're going to free Palestine
Lulu Garcia-Navarro
in 2019. Folks thought electing Alexandria, Ocasio, Cortez and myself was impossible. We ran on no corporate dollars, abolishing ICE. Reparations. We ran in 2019 on reparations. Medicare for all, taxing the rich, increasing, increasing the minimum wage, stopping the endless wars. And yes, we ran on a free Palestine.
Dave Rubin
It's just so incredible. Okay, so, okay, so it's all the usual stuff they want to abolish, they want reparations. Can you go back? Because they all applauded. Look, this was the moment she said reparations. So might I recommend that that man or woman in the red shirt, I don't know what that is, Throw in a couple bucks for reparations. Dude, Chick, whatever you are throwing, or you, sir, in the back with your hand up, you were all applauding or pudgy guy over there. Any of you people, the black lady behind her is thrilled about the reparations. But look at all these people applauding reparations.
Caleb Hammer
But stop.
Dave Rubin
Stop saying it. Show me. No one's stopping you from wandering around. Oh, there's a black person over there. Can I buy you a laptop? Like it's completely and utterly absurd. None of it means anything. Medicare for all. Okay, where are you going to find all the doc, by the way, you guys are against AI now and all these data centers. It's AI that is gonna revolutionize medicine, but you're against that. And then China and a whole bunch of other Countries are gonna leapfrog us on that. Taxing the rich, blah, blah, blah. And then, of course, she is a de facto member of Hamas. So what's more important than anything else? Well, it's killing about 10 million Jews and having another Muslim supremacist state. There's already 50 of them. And then, oh, we all just are gonna free Palestine. Here's Abdul and this guy again. To all his pudgy white people in the crowd. America, you know, well, we're America, so it's slavery, slavery, slavery.
Mark Warner
A country that was built on the accommodation of slavery. A country where for Most of that 250 years, women struggled to have any participation in ourselves system.
Dave Rubin
A country that even after we abolish
Mark Warner
slavery, we still contend with the legacy of Jim Crow and segregation and structural racism, even today.
Dave Rubin
No, we don't. You mute me for a second. Can you tell me when I'm muted? Okay, we got it back. I'm back. Okay. Like, no, no. There is no systemic racism in the country. You guys are trying to import it through all of your policies. Did you know that hundreds of nations had slavery for thousands of years? And America, a very young country, we're only 250 years old. About 100 years in, we fought a war to end slavery. And yes, women could not vote at first. And there were thousands nations before us that didn't let women vote. And we had women's suffrage. And women do vote now. Probably shouldn't be allowed, but here we are. But again, it's worth noting that black people are supporting Haley Stevens. That's his competitor. 69% to El said. He's got 31% of the black people. Yeah, of the black people. Hasan Piker. As you know, this is a dog abusing communist loving calls for political violence. Number one streamer, I think online, like, total, absolute lunatic. When I was at the Young Turks, he was harassing all the girls, and the way they punished him was asking him to work from home. He is a vile human being. We were playing ball once. He had a pit bull at the time, wrapped it up against a tree. It didn't want to be there in the hot sun. Demolished the whole area around the tree. All right, I'm going on here. He is cosplaying as Mao Zedong. Great guy. Ranting about how the Democrats will be destroyed, and of course, yada, yada, yada, Israel.
Jake Tapper
No more to Trumpism, but no more to the Democrats who compromise, who conciliate, and who betray us. No more to the fascist reactionaries, but no More to the Democrats, who will collaborate and cooperate with the fascists, who will fund ice, who will fund Israel, who will help poison the black, who will stiff workers and help bosses. We don't need those Democrats anymore. In fact, I know we have a message. We are coming.
Dave Rubin
We are en bossed. We're en bought.
Jake Tapper
We're on.
Dave Rubin
Let me try it this way. I really think that you should probably buy guns and be able to defend yourselves. These people, if they were to attain power, do you not think that guy would kill people?
Mark Warner
People?
Dave Rubin
Like, it's fairly obvious he would, right? Like, they want the Cultural Revolution. Mao Zedong, the guy, he's cosplaying us. We have a picture because it's basically the same outfit. They're wearing the same outfit. About 80 million people died in his revolution, right? Because the problem with communism is communism needs us all to be exactly the same. Except the elites, they just never tell you that. And you're gonna have to kill a lot of people to make everyone the same, because humans are innately different, right? We all have the spark of the divine in us, and we can all make decisions for ourselves, and that's not what they like. But do you see also what he's saying there? He's angrier more than he's angry at all of us, the fascists and the Trump people. He's really angry at the moderate Dems, because it's the moderate Dems that he needs to get out of the way. They actually have to be taken out first before they can get onto the wider revolution. So this is why for the. The Schumers and the Cory Bookers and the rest of these guys that are wide tent. Come on in. Oh, you're ushering in communism. And what I voted for one thing you didn't like. And I don't want to genocide all the Jews and ooh, ah, ooh. I should have. Maybe I should have done something about that. Of course, it could get worse because we're going to have a presidential election in a couple years, and the Democrats, like, there's no chance that, you know, Gavin is going to look like. Like an old Republican lunatic at that point, because they're so out of control right now. So here's Zorhan Glazing aoc And I
Zorhan Mamdani
would say that I'm still very much focused in this year, but I do believe that we all have to take a step back and appreciate what it is that she means to so many across this country. And the reason for it is the work that she is.
Lulu Garcia-Navarro
I Think she'd make a good president?
Zorhan Mamdani
I think she would make a good anything. I think she's a great congresswoman. I think no matter what she decides to do, she's going to bring those same qualities to whatever that work is.
Dave Rubin
God, that New York Times, that interviewer. She's so like, just. You think she'd be good. What has AOC done? How about you ask her that? Ask him that. She, because of everything she's done. What has she done? What has AOC ever accomplished in her life other than attaining power just like Bernie Sanders? Nothing. She's never built anything. She's never passed a major piece of legislation. She's here for the revolution and he's for it. And his fake smile. If you can't read through the fake smile and the whisper as he's coming to destroy the United States of America, then I suppose you deserve it. I just don't know how you can't possibly see through it. So now let's shift slightly because there is one sane Democrat. You already know who I'm talking about about. And here he is. Yes, it's John Fetterman saying that, well, maybe he will have to change his party, but it won't be because he changed.
John Fetterman
Now, you know, Jake, I've said this, that if I change my party spontaneously right now, my views and my votes aren't going to change. It's really more of a statement how. And if you look at the kind of people that are winning our primaries, their centerpieces of their campaign is. Is anti. Anti Israel kinds of rhetoric. When candidates like you've had Dr. On just before me won't criticize Iran, in fact, he'll warn his supporters, well, we can't just be talking about that the leader of Iran was eliminated, which I think I'm proud to say that's a great thing.
Dave Rubin
Ronald Reagan, 70s I didn't leave the Democrat Party. The Democrat Party left me Dave Rubin, Bobby Kennedy, Tulsi, et cetera. That's all he's saying right there. It's not that I will have changed now. He may evolve on certain things. I suspect over time he will become a little more libertarian, ish, let's say on some big government stuff and some of the programs he's been for and you know, some of the things that he's probably still not great on, but he would be welcomed in the Republican Party where there is some diversity of thought. To have all that also this entire. It is endless. You must understand what unites these people more than anything else is Just the destruction of Israel, which just ain't gonna happen. The Jews have been around for a long time and pharaohs and inquisitions and Nazis and a whole bunch of things. They aren't around any longer. Like it's baked in that the bad guys come for the Jews and the Jews will still be here at the end. So this, so the thing that's uniting all of the horrible people, it's why at the end, Rashida Tlaib, she rifles off all of this leftist nonsense, but what is sh. She saved for the end. You gotta save for the end that will free Palestine and all the little creatures come out. It ain't gonna work. It ain't gonna work. But John Fetterman would rather, probably rather talk about anything other than that. But he's just saying, you know, this thing with the killing of all the Jews, it's a bit much. It's a bit much. We'll have more on with Jake Tapper in just a second who was interviewing Fetterman there and then he interviewed Abdul Al said. But first, Shopify. Starting something new can be intimidating. And you may remember, what was it about two months ago or so, right after we took out the Ayatollah, who was not thought of as a great guy. He refused to comment on the death of him, of the Ayatollah, and basically was like, if I say anything that his own people, meaning the people of Dearborn, Michigan, which has become an Islamist stronghold, would be angry at him. So here is Jake asking Abdul syed about that.
Jake Tapper
20 weeks ago when Iran's Supreme Leader was killed, you told your staff, according to audio obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, quote, there are a lot of people in Dearborn who are sad today. So, like, I just don't want to comment on Khamenei at all, unquote. I thought that quote was interesting. Why were you worried about offending people who support the Ayatollah?
Mark Warner
Jake, on a day where we're mourning the loss of two more service members in a war we never should have fought, I think all of us ought to step back and ask whether or not everybody in Michigan, frankly, everybody in America shouldn't be sad about the fact that this president, backed by the prime minister of a foreign government, took us to a war we had no business fighting in.
Dave Rubin
Okay, so again, like everything, they never say anything, kick the can down the road. It's never about their former words. It's obvious that he has a huge amount of people in his own, as he said when he didn't think he was being recorded in his own district, that like the ayatollah, he likes the ayatollah. And again, whether you're thrilled with exactly how this war went or not, Trump from 40 years ago was saying they're not going to get nukes. The Ayatollah and the IRGC has killed at least 40,000 of their own people. Does America have any, as the last remaining supervisor, do we have any responsibility, moral responsibility or whatever you want to call it, to do anything good in the world, or should we just let everyone else die everywhere? You can have some debate about that, but it's more just his sliminess, his sliminess around everything. And of course, this guy, it's Medicare for all. It's all these things. But as we covered last week, his wife, who is a therapist, her name is, her last name is Jacuku. And if you're going to a therapist named Jacuku, you really. Well, whatever. She doesn't accept Medicare. That's right. She doesn't accept Medicare patients, even though he wants Medicare for all. She wants to make some freaking money, so she doesn't take Medicare. So of course, as always, it's socialism for thee, not for me. But let's continue because the DSA, one of the DSA's, Democrat Socialist America, one of their co chairs, went on Fox. This is Gustavo Gordillo from Peru and listen to this.
Lulu Garcia-Navarro
Your family came here from Peru, really, in the middle of the heat of the Shining Path. They were Maoist communist guerrillas in Peru. So why did your family come to America?
Gustavo Gordillo
The economic situation in South America and in Peru was in a really bad place. But I think that much of what we could say is responsible for that actually was the imposition of capitalism and American imperialism. In many cases, the problem we're facing in Our housing system is that we talk about tenants and we say they have to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. They have to be responsible financially. But when we look at the landlords, we don't use those same standards. Landlords in New York have been making a 12% return on their investment for
Dave Rubin
on average, what should they make?
Lulu Garcia-Navarro
What's fair for the landlord to make?
Gustavo Gordillo
If you don't like 12, they're complaining that 12 is not enough. And we don't think that anyone should have a constitutional right to double digit returns on their investment.
Dave Rubin
Actually, no one has a constitutional right to double digit returns on your investment. People have a constitutional right to freedom and individual liberty. And you can enter a contract with someone or not enter a contract with someone. That's how it works. Also, if you don't like the economic conditions or if your communist parents didn't like the economic conditions in South America, say 40 years ago, you don't blame America because we put capitalism there. Is that what you're saying? Because that really doesn't make sense. Because then why would they come to America, which is the capitalist place in the first place? I feel like I'm doing a South park guy. Who's this from South Park? It sounds like somebody I don't know. Like what, what? But these are the leaders. These are the leaders. And this is great. Saw this on Friday, thought it might be AI at first. And I often tell you guys how you know New York City's turning into Gotham from the Christopher Nolan who did the Odyssey. If you haven't watched the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy, it really does tell you a tremendous amount of what's happening right now. But here is a perfect example of that because I'm fairly certain that at this housing event that they did here, you'll see Mamdami in the back and a woman speaking that this is an absolute origin story of a Gotham villain. If you play this right, this is the. Imagine you're watching the Batman movie and this is the beginning of the movie where this person is speaking and they turn into a horrific villain who. Who wrecks mayhem across the city. Here's some lady at a Mamdame housing event.
Lulu Garcia-Navarro
Our city is turning the corner on tenant power.
Dave Rubin
When we organize, we win results. The Mamdani administration is emboldening us so that we no longer tolerate the violence
Lulu Garcia-Navarro
of evictions As a matter of business as usual. My landlord owns dozens of buildings, but
Dave Rubin
he is not a steward of the public trust.
Lulu Garcia-Navarro
In fact, it is the opposite.
Dave Rubin
Okay, was she wearing a neck Brace too? Was it neck brace? Is that a neck brace? And the mask and the hat and the pins. Your landlord bought buildings and other people bought buildings, and then they decide to rent those buildings. And having a free market as opposed to freezing rents, which calcifies the whole thing, is the best way to ultimately get rents to come down. But it's interesting the way they're talking about if you're evicted, it's a type of violence and this is extreme. This is the. I would say this is the most important takeaway of the show today. Nick Friedas, who I've had on the show before, he saw that video and he made an interesting point here. And you really need to understand this. The reason why the left now claims everything is fine violence is because they desperately want to hurt us. And they are trying to create a moral framework where they can pretend it's self defense. This is 100% right. You know how I often talk about the end of Gangs of New York, or there's versions of it in the Batman trilogy and everything else where they're eventually they're just going to burst into the apartments on the Upper east side and start throwing people out the windows and grabbing their fur coats and doing all these things. It's because that will be the landlord. So if you were one of these crazy lunatics that dresses up like a psychopath and you're running around with your Hamas poster and you've got your mask and your neck brace and all of this stuff and, well, if the landlord who takes the rent, he has to pay for all the stuff and the building and everything else, but he takes rent every month. If he's committing violence against you, then why wouldn't you commit violence right back? And we know over the last two years that they have condoned violence, right? Donald Trump says mean things. I can understand why someone might shoot him. Brian Thompson was running United Health Care and we didn't like what he was doing with the CO pays so, you know, he could get murdered. So they are laying the groundwork. This was always going to be the end game of unjustly calling everyone Nazis and bigots and racists and everything else. And then of course, the other thing with them, it's not just that the race rhetoric is insane, is that all the policies are absolutely insane. So now let's go back to Zorhan with this terror. She's just a terrible interviewer, this New York Times Lulu lady. And here they are. She asks him about ice.
Zorhan Mamdani
What we are unwilling to do is to participate in Civil immigration enforcement with a federal government that has said openly it wants to deport a vast majority of people for crimes that we will never even know. That is where I think I see the tension.
Lulu Garcia-Navarro
Have you ever been to the US Mexico border?
Mark Warner
No.
Zorhan Mamdani
I think oftentimes we are forced into these false traits.
Lulu Garcia-Navarro
Would you have asylum seekers be able to, you know, for example, ask for asylum at the U. S. Mexico border?
Zorhan Mamdani
What is the law today? What are they legally entitled to do?
Lulu Garcia-Navarro
I mean the law today, I mean under President Trump, the law today is that they're not.
Zorhan Mamdani
But in terms of international obligations, in terms of.
Lulu Garcia-Navarro
And that has meant that the border has seen a dramatic drop in illegal crossings. So I guess that is the tension that a lot of people see.
Dave Rubin
Okay, beyond the fake smile and the constant whisper, do you understand what he always does? This thing about international obligations. International, it's not real. If you are watching, watching this show in America, you are not subjugated to international law. Some clown court somewhere in Europe where they decide what Americans are allowed to do. We have no obligation as a sovereign nation to take anyone into this country. But again, I would just say to him, and I know why, it's because he's trying to destroy America. But I would say to somebody that might be confused about what this guy's trying to do. Why does he never care about America? Why is. What do you mean? People can just show up to our border and come in and then what did he say? He wants Donald Trump, who cowardly wants to deport a vast majority of people who have crimes we don't know they've committed. They're illegal. But again they don't think that is a crime in and of itself. The guy just for the very idea that he thinks that he answers to international law. That should be enough to have him deposed as the leader of Now I'm gonna assume. What did he swear in? He probably swear in on the Quran, right? Like they should all swear in on the Constitution. That would make more sense to me even than the Bible. But the Bible is not at ethical odds with the Constitution. The Quran is right, because it's a political document more than a religious document. It's just so freaking obvious. And then again. But it's not just him because then there's Tim Walls over in Minnesota and you might remember, remember the story from last week where an illegal raped, what was it, a six year old girl, something unbelievably horrible and then was pardoned. And here's Tim Wallace on that.
Jake Tapper
Did that make us any Safer. Did that make the children that are left behind any more stable? Did it improve the idea that we can't all be judged by our worst day? And I want to be very clear. These are horrific crimes. They often are.
Dave Rubin
You know, on my worst day, I never raped a six year old. Anyone? Anyone on your, you know, you're just having one of those horrible days, like, you know, you get up, the coffee machine's not working, just on your way to work, you just plow into a group of nuns in your car. Like what? Let's go back to Abdul Syed, because the other little trick that they're trying to do is they, yes, they really want to abolish ice, but then they'll tell you how they would do it. They would just do it much better. Right? Because, yeah, it's just that Trump can't do anything right. If they were doing it, it would just be really done much better. Again, these people have never accomplished anything. Although his wife, Jikuku is a very successful therapist who doesn't accept Medicare, but he'll figure out how to deal with illegals much, much better.
Mark Warner
And so there's an approach here where you abolish ice. You fire the people who've been hired without the right vetting or training. You start again with a very particular kind of force with high training, where you are enforcing at the edge of cases that really are about somebody who has come and broken our actual laws rather than blanket enforcement that is supposed to be loud and in your face, specifically to weaponize the idea of immigration against a political party or political movement. Like that really is what this is about.
Dave Rubin
All right, he just said a whole bunch of words. None of that made sense. Okay, so again, he'll just create something that will be better than ICE and deal with the edge cases like, I don't know what you're saying. But no, ICE is here to get rid of illegals and everyone if we want. Have we ever prayed together on the program before? But we should all take a moment and pray that the Republicans win the midterms and Donald Trump gets to clean up this freaking country, including from people like you, who I have no doubt have ties with terrorist organizations, because otherwise we are absolutely screwed. Here's a bit more from Abdul Syed.
Jake Tapper
Do you have any criticisms of the Biden immigration policy?
Mark Warner
I think we could have done much better. I believe in a safe and secure border, full stop. I also believe that we have to be smart about the fact that right now ICE is being used to terrorize people on our streets. Talk about two more deaths in the last two weeks alone at the edge of a force that should not exist.
Dave Rubin
Okay, so again, everything is abolished ICE because they want to import voters. But you don't believe in a safe and secure border. Of course you don't. Did you say anything about the border for the four years when Biden was president? And by your own logic, why would you care about a safe and secure border? You're very focused on getting as many people here as possible. And you're even saying you only want to get rid of the edge cases of people who have really committed really heinous crimes. I suppose that's what you mean. So what do you mean you believe in a safe, secure border? Why would you. Are you racist? That guy's a racist. That MFer is one big effing racist. Then of course you've got the guy down in, down in Texas, the Democrat who. He thinks that Jesus is non binary. And what else did he. He's done some weird stuff. What else has Talarico been up to? He's done some. He wants. Yeah. Oh, yeah. There's 47 genders and a whole bunch of stuff. And here he is now going after Biden, the border. Poor Joe, he doesn't know where he is and he's got everybody.
Jake Tapper
So you would agree the Democrats made a big mistake in 2021, 22, 23, not focusing enough on border security, right? Absolutely. And I've called out President Biden and his administration for failing to secure our southern border. I remember talking to my colleagues in the State House who represent border communities, and they were telling me about the utter chaos, chaos along our, our southern border. And that's unacceptable. We need to be about making government work for people. And this was a prime example of government not working for any of us.
Dave Rubin
Yeah. Somebody do a little Googling. Do we have AI in this room right now?
Bill Maher
Yeah.
Dave Rubin
Can you find some video of Talarico or Abdul Said going after Biden for the border and no, it doesn't exist.
Bill Maher
No.
Dave Rubin
Donald Trump. If Donald Trump literally did nothing else for four years, the day he came in, he, he closed the border. If he had just decided, you know what, I'm just going to sit in the Oval Office and drink Diet Cokes and do nothing else, he already would have been a better president than Joe Biden. You guys don't care about it. You don't care about it. And if you did, you would be empowering ice not trying to destroy them. But let's put a pin in that for a moment. Because then something else interesting happened last week, and we didn't even cover it. It was a little hard to understand. Well, wasn't hard to understand the media reaction around it, but it was hard to decipher exactly how important this is. But on Thursday night, as you know, Donald Trump gave a huge speech about China and election interference as it pertains to the 2020 election. All of the major networks, ABC, NBC, CBS, did not cover it. Now, already that sort of feels like the day that they all decided to boot him from Twitter and Facebook and everything else they've decided when you can hear and not hear from the President. Now, thankfully, we have, to whatever extent it is still free, a free Internet, and people are able to get some of the video. But here is Trump on what they now believe China has been doing, starting with our 2020 election. The documents cover five major areas of concern. First, they show that over a period of years, Starting during the 2020 election cycle, the People's Republic of China carried out what is believed to be the largest compromise of election data data in history, resulting in China's illicit acquisition of 220 million US voter files. That information includes names, addresses, phone numbers, political party preferences, and other sensitive data that would be needed to register to vote and engage in other nefarious activities. Okay, so that was a speech at the White House. I'll give you a little more detail on that in just a second. But again, the networks decided they got some advance notice of what it was going to be about, and they all decided in unison, we are not going to air it. It's very, very similar to what they did with him on social media before. Even if everything Trump said was a lie, they could go ahead and debunk it. Did they ever not air something that Barack Obama did, a speech from the White House? Did they ever not air a speech from Bill Clinton or even George W. Bush? Right. So it could go to Republican. Either way, Trump. It's very different when it's Donald Trump. But here is Mark Wayne Mullen with a little more detail on what Trump is now saying.
Jake Tapper
China did identify 250,000 non citizens registered to vote in just four states, mind you. We have 46 other states and just four states. We've identified two 250,000 non citizens registered to vote in California and Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Nevada. We also worked with proactive states to identify 28,000 non citizens on their voter rolls, plus 400,000 individuals that are still registered to vote, that are deceased.
Dave Rubin
Okay, 250,000 non citizens registered to vote in four states. Again, there's way more states than that. So how many do you think registered to vote? How many do you think actually voted? Oh, to the backdrop of Democrats not wanting a border, not wanting ICE to get people out of the country, not wanting people to have ideas to vote. Are you starting to put some of this together?
John Fetterman
Right.
Dave Rubin
It's obvious what is going on here. But even if they were making all of that up, wouldn't it be the responsible thing of a network, if you are a network that is under the jurisdiction of the fcc, to air the speech of the President of the United States so the American people could hear it and then you could go ahead and debunk it, send Jake Tapper and send everybody else out there and they can go and debunk all of this stuff if it's all a lie, but instead they just don't want you to hear it. Here is former Democrat RFK Jr. Talking about how it's the Dems, it's not Trump and all of us who have flipped on the border, it's the Dems who have completely flipped on the border.
Jake Tapper
The Democrats were always against people coming over the border because they thought the corporations want that in order to compete with American workers and drive down wages. And the American unions always were fighting to shut the border. All of a sudden when Trump said I want to shut the border, the Democrats were, well, since he said that we're now for an open border and they let 20 million people come across.
Dave Rubin
20 million people.
Jake Tapper
20 million people in four years coming across.
Bill Maher
Speaking of.
Jake Tapper
And you know, they lost a lot of the kids.
Dave Rubin
Kids, exactly.
Bill Maher
Yeah.
Dave Rubin
Okay, so well, the child trafficking part of this is a different story altogether. But 20 million people in four years and again that number, you hear different versions of it. But if it's, even if it was, you know, 12 million people in four years, we knew we had at least about 12 million dreamers before that. So there's something like 8% of the country is illegal in here, something like that. In a country of 350 million people. Okay. And on top of everything else, he's completely right. It was the Bernie crew and all of the Democrats who wanted closed borders because their whole idea was, oh, the people that are getting minimum wage and they love keeping people on minimum wage. Democrats, cuz they don't like business and they want government controls over everything. They didn't want the country to be flooded with cheap labor because that would, in their argument, screw the American work. And now the funny part of what they're doing right now is they are completely for an open border. They want us to be flooded. And it's to the backdrop of what's happening with AI and robotics. So not only are you flooding the border with people who are going to lower the wages on that bottom end of people who are doing things, let's say, who are out there picking tomatoes, et cetera, et cetera, but then it's also there are quite literally drones and robots that are starting to do those things which are going to put all of the people out of work, not just the new illegals coming in, but the people that you purport to keep care about anyway. And you guys are fighting against that. So every single thing these people do is backwards. It is just in service to collapsing the system. However, Donald Trump is at least president for now and we're on a nice little run when it comes to keeping that border closed. Here's Caroline Levitt.
Lulu Garcia-Navarro
Finally, let's turn to the border. Brand new numbers this week from the Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Protection confirmed that for the 14th straight month, this administration has released zero illegal aliens into the United States. Again, let me reiterate, the 14th straight month, not a single illegal criminal alien has been entered into our country, released into our country by this administration.
Dave Rubin
All right, that's pretty good. 14 months in a row. What do you think will happen if the Democrats get power? Again, the answer is obvious. They will flood the nation with illegal. They will tell you they're not even illegal. They have every right. An international law says they should be here and they should get a whole bunch of government cheese. That is what they are going to do. But now let's back up for a second because I mentioned the China thing that Trump was giving the speech about at the White House on Thursday night. And I want to show you a bit of the reaction by the Democrats. So again, there's mark Wayne Mullen. 250,000 non registered people, non citizens are registered to vote. There's a problem here. Trump is clearly making it that China is up to no good. You can agree or disagree, not like it. But listen to the backwards way these Democrats go after him. After the speech, we will start with Amy Klobuchar. He chose instead of chasing his policies, he chose to try to undermine the election because he wants to make people scared to vote. And he wants to it almost to me as if he was inviting attacks
Lulu Garcia-Navarro
on our election structure because a lot
Dave Rubin
of these things we've known about before,
Jake Tapper
we know foreign powers do try to attack our Systems.
Dave Rubin
How is it inviting attacks to say we should know who is looking at our voter rolls? How is it inviting attacks or trying to scare people to say that Americans should vote? Everything they say is backwards. But this one. One Delaware Senator Chris Coons, he really lets the cat out of the bag with this one.
Jake Tapper
And for Mark Wayne Mullen, the Secretary of Homeland Security, to now be threatening criminal sanctions for those who won't purge illegals out of our voter rolls is just another step in undermining confidence in our elections.
Dave Rubin
What you mean if you purge illegals out of our voter rolls, that's going to undermine confidence? That is literally. Play it one more time. That's exactly what I said. If you, if you get the illegals out of voter rolls, people are going to be less confident in the elections. One more. His words, not mine.
Jake Tapper
And for Mark Wayne Mullen, the Secretary of Homeland Security, to now be threatening criminal sanctions for those who won't purge illegals out of our voter rolls is just another step in undermining confidence in our elections.
Dave Rubin
Why would you want illegals on our voter rolls unless you were trying to steal elections?
Jake Tapper
So they.
Dave Rubin
I don't even know that he meant to admit it, but there he admitted it. Oh, and this is a doozy, too. Here's Virginia Senator Mark Warner, and he does not know about his own state's ID process when it comes to voting. No idea.
Mark Warner
To register.
Zorhan Mamdani
To vote. To vote.
Dave Rubin
Is this something that Democrats should get behind?
Jake Tapper
We have very.
Dave Rubin
80 some percent of Americans, 71% of
Mark Warner
Democrats say they favor this.
Jake Tapper
You know what? In Virginia, we have voter ID and photo id. I gotta show my.
Dave Rubin
That's actually not the case. I mean, I'm a Virginia voter. You don't need to show a photo id.
Mark Warner
In Virginia, there are a wide range
Dave Rubin
of things you can show for id, and if you don't show one of
Mark Warner
those, you can sign an affidavit saying.
Jake Tapper
Sign an affidavit.
Dave Rubin
So it's not required.
Jake Tapper
Those become ballots that if you want to contest later, can be contested. But you are have, you do have a variety of, of documents, but we have voter ID of one form or another.
Dave Rubin
Should that be a national. I mean, that guy should resign in embarrassment. We have voter ID and photo id. No, you don't. Oh, we don't actually. But you have to sign an affidavit because there's nothing that an illegal who is voting, he would be like, you know what? I'm gonna vote illegally and I'll take my $5 and they're gonna get me a chick Fil a sandwich this. But if I have to put my name on an affidavit, that affidavit. Who's that? Like what? Adam Carolla. My friend Adam Carolla was chatting with Dave Portnoy and here they are talking about how there is something interesting brewing in the Democrat Party because everyone is falling into lockstep right now except for that guy who used to have Brandon Damage.
Jake Tapper
It makes me think that you're not intellectually honest if you don't have some nuance. Like I would say. Well, I would think Fetterman seems intellectually honest because he has different opinions about different subjects. Not all the exact same. Ro Khanna has one opinion and that's whatever the they tell him to stop. Say it doesn't have any variation on anything. And near this Kamala Harris and neither did Joe Biden. They're all think exactly the same about COVID as they do about Palestine. No, no, it's. There's group think and it's a pet peeve of mine, has been for a long time. I don't. The worst thing about politics and it's both sides to be honest, is you generally know the answer to the question before it's asked by just how they identify by who they are basically. Are you a Republican? And that like you said, no nuance and that that's frustrating.
Dave Rubin
I would say to portnoy, it's not 50. 50. Yes. You can usually glean what a Republican thinks about something. If they say I'm a Republican or I'm a conservative, you might be able to figure out most of what they think. But I think we've illustrated it for years at this point that the Republican Party is more, is way more into diversity of thought than the lefties. But even you would just have to go back back to that crazy Mao Zedong video of Hasan Piker. And he's threatening the Democrats. It's the Democrats that he's threatening. We will come for you. So what position are you allowed to hold that the radical Democrats won't hold you for? So obviously you have to bow to them on Palestine. That's number one more than anything else, right? A state that never existed, designed to destroy states that do exist. You have to be for that more than anything else.
Bill Maher
But.
Dave Rubin
But would you be allowed to be a Democrat and not be Medicare for all? Would they allow that? No, of course not. Would you be allowed to be a Democrat and not for abolishing ice? No, of course not. So they are telling you there for diversity While they are for complete conformity and it's everywhere. And of course it's also to the backdrop that they are not proud of being American. They don't like this country. They've never liked this country and they want to fundamentally alter it and destroy it. Here is Maryland governor and presumptive moderate Democrat Wes Moore over on MSNow television for morons. And they're talking about how Americans should
Lulu Garcia-Navarro
feel unpatriotic around this 250th anniversary. Because I think the 250 is not just about the past, but it's also about the future and what is happening right now. Because I believe we are in a post reconstruction moment in America is going to determine the next 50, 60, 80 years, just like the last post reconstruction moment did. There are a lot of people in this country who are like, I'm not feeling patriotic, I'm conflicted.
Jake Tapper
And that's the thing I, you know, I believe is that I'm not anybody who is feeling frustrated and disillusioned or exhausted and. Exhausted.
Zorhan Mamdani
Yeah.
Dave Rubin
Or skeptical.
Jake Tapper
I'm not going to spend an ounce to tell them that they're wrong because they're not. They should feel that way.
Dave Rubin
I love how exhaustion is the number one thing for these people, maybe even more than Palatine, is that they're always telling you they're doing work, it's never work. And they're always exhausted by this work. I'm exhausted. Do you know how long it took me to put this brooch on this morning I put it through the thing and I stabbed myself in the chest and I was trying to. And look, is it upside down, my brooch. And Wes Moore just pandering to these people. How about you got up there as a Democrat and said, you know what? We ain't like, it's the boringest shit ever, but we're not perfect. But look at the three of us. We are black people, all rich and influential and on television. And I'm in the government and you God forsaken people with no discernible talent are on television. How about we be appreciative of this country? Could we try that? Let's contrast that to end the show today with two more things for you. Here is Marco Rubio explaining how profoundly evil all of these ideas of which we have discussed on the program today are.
Jake Tapper
This is a distinctive and unique evil. It has always been driven by a hatred above all else, a hatred for civilization itself. It is a revolt of the worst against the best. A revolt of the weak and the cowardly against the strong and the good. It is perpetrated by those who cannot build, who cannot create, who cannot achieve great things and take their revenge upon the world for their own inadequacy by seeking to destroy those who can. This is what radical leftism is. They despise the west because the west is great.
Dave Rubin
Yes, that is right. And we will probably play more from that speech of Rubio a couple days ago over the next few days. But Jordan Peterson, who is slowly coming back online, I was texting with him over the weekend, he's doing a little bit better. I think we will get a public return from him pretty soon. He has been tweeting a little bit more. He saw that video of Marco right there and he wrote this. And I think this really nails it. He said, we think of this evil as Marxism. In reality, Marxism is nothing more or less than the current instantation of a much more ancient evil possession by the envious and hateful spirit that drove Cain to murder his brother Abel. The great book of Genesis thus portrays mankind as riven by an eternal fratricidal conflict. Those who reject genuine sacrifice become embittered by their subsequent failure. Rejection by God. Instead of repenting and changing, they turn to revenge. And who do they target? Those who strive to do well and. And offer what is best. I can't believe how much wisdom the Author of Genesis 4 compressed into the story's few sentences. You might even come to believe that God himself had a hand in it. Truly, it's uncanny. The first two human beings born into history are respectively, a good, honest, productive man and his brother, who allows himself to be consumed by resentment and the desire to destroy. Communism in a nutshell. And boy, guys, does that not perfectly illustrate everything we've shown you on the show today. Everything that these people are about is to destroy things. Bernie Sanders, his greatest evil is that he convinced young people that envy is good. Every time someone produces something, they end up hating them. Elon Musk becomes a trillionaire. He's building rockets, he's doing electric cars, he's having, quite literally, quadriplegics play chess with their mind. And they hate him. So there are those of us that want to produce, right? And that's what the Cain and Abel story is. And then there are the people who just want to destroy because they choose not to go on that grand adventure themselves. That is our program for today. July 20, 2022, 26. We've got a post game show for you. 30 seconds. Rubinreport.locals.com thanks for watching.
Host: Dave Rubin
Episode Date: July 20, 2026
This episode centers on the evolving state of the Democratic Party, the surge of socialism within progressive politics, and a frank conversation featuring Bill Maher—who expresses newfound hesitation about supporting Democrats. Dave Rubin explores how traditional liberals are feeling alienated by the party’s direction, highlights moments from several political personalities (AOC, John Fetterman, others), and discusses the broader cultural and political implications of these shifts. The show also critiques performative activism, left-wing policy priorities, and the tension between moderate and radical factions within the Democratic Party.
[46:38-49:06] Debates on abolishing ICE, border security, and accusations of importing voters are spotlighted.
[50:05-57:50] Border security is further discussed, with claims that Democrats neglected the border for years and only changed position in opposition to Trump.
[61:57-62:57] Dave Rubin discusses Adam Carolla and Dave Portnoy’s views on the lack of nuance in modern political discourse, particularly in the Democratic party.
[64:22-65:03] Maryland Governor Wes Moore responds to declining patriotism, saying “I’m not going to spend an ounce to tell them that they’re wrong because they’re not. They should feel that way.”
[66:03] Marco Rubio: “This is a distinctive and unique evil… a revolt of the worst against the best… perpetrated by those who cannot build… and take their revenge upon the world for their own inadequacy by seeking to destroy those who can. This is what radical leftism is. They despise the west because the west is great.” [66:03]
Jordan Peterson’s Commentary (summarized by Rubin):
The episode is spirited, combative, and at times sardonic—Rubin uses anecdote, pop-culture references, and biting asides to drive home his point about the dangers of unchecked progressive ideology. Throughout, he highlights voices like Bill Maher, John Fetterman, and Marco Rubio as examples of honest dissent or pushback. The tone is urgent, warning listeners about the consequences of fringe-left capture within major American institutions and parties.
