We got a lot to do today. So, you know, yesterday I covered a bit around this Carmelo Anthony case. And no, it is not former NBA player Carmelo Anthony, who was my least favorite player of all time. The guy never passed, never played defense, never made it anywhere in the playoffs. His teams always seemingly got worse with him. It's not him, as you know. Now, joking aside for a second, there was a murder of a young man by the name of Austin Metcalfe by Carmelo Anthony. There was a little kerfuffle around the seating arrangement at a sporting event, and Metcalf was killed, stabbed in the chest and bled out and died. The verdict came in yesterday, and he was found guilty of murder. So we'll get to that in a second. Then Platner won the Democrat primary. We're gonna have some updates on some election integrity stuff. And then the story that off our shores, for a moment, we're gonna jump over to Ireland because there was an attempted. And attempted. I'm using that in as loose a way you can use the word, an almost beheading on the streets of Belfast, Ireland, and the whole country is in upheaval right now. And so we'll talk about that because obviously it's related to borders and deportation and protecting your culture and so many things we talk about. And we'll finish up with a couple things around catching up on the Iran war stuff. So let's start with this trial. And again, the reason you know me, I'm not big on just like, oh, let's do trial after trial after trial after trial. A lot of other shows do that. And I know it's very good for clicks. I do think something's happening here because of the racial connotation around this thing. Also. We're basically heading into the dog days of summer. We're gonna roll into July and August. That's when we tend to get more people on the streets and weirdness. Don't forget about the summer love and all the BLM stuff. So I just sense some weirdness around this case. So let me just get you caught up on what has happened. This is from Fox. According to background details presented by prosecutors, the deadly encounter was sparked by a dispute over seating at a track meet. Multiple witnesses testified that Anthony arrived uninvited and sat down inside the Memorial High School team tent. Fellow students reportedly asked Anthony to leave the tent as many as 15 times, but he allegedly refused. A Memorial High School student athlete testified Saturday that students repeatedly asked Carmelo Anthony to leave the team tent and that Anthony allegedly challenged students to fight. The witness said Austin declined, telling him he was not going to fight at a track meet. As the situation escalated, witnesses testified that Anthony warned Metcalf, telling him, touch me and find out and touch me. See what happens. During the confrontation, Anthony sat with a backpack on his lap and one hand inside it, leading some students to warn Metcalfe not to touch him because they suspected he was gripping a concealed weapon. The verbal dispute turned physical when Metcalf reportedly shoved or touched Anthony, prompting Anthony to stand up and stab the high school captain with a 3.5-inch folding knife. Moments later, the stud testified he heard Austin repeatedly yell that he had been stabbed before the students fled the area. A second witness, a 16 year old memorial High School student from the class of 27, told the court that immediately after the attack, some of Metcalf's final words were, he effing stabbed me. Taking the stand later Saturday, a recently graduated 18 year old from Memorial High School broke down in tears as he recounted the chaotic aftermath of the attack, testifying that he heard Metcalfe screaming for help. The witness said that he returned to assist after initially running from the scene and saw coaches, trainers and students rushing to help Austin while others held back Austin's twin brother, Hunter. Okay, so we'll get into some of the aftermath around this, but obviously, well, from everything that according to the trial, Carmelo Anthony was in the wrong tent. He was not supposed to be there. It was the team tent. They apparently went up to him several times and he just refused and somehow it led to him stabbing this kid. And the kid is now dead. He has now been found guilty of murder. And so in this case, the person who has been murdered, Austin Metcalfe, happens to be white, the murderer happens to be black. And unfortunately, where we are at, it's not really just in this country where we're at. All over the world right now is everything becomes racialized and people only care about certain things depending on who the perpetrator is, the skin color of the perpetrator and the skin color of the victim. So this one is causing a lot of tension. Now, before we get into some of that tension, here is video of Hunter Metcalfe. This is Austin Metcalfe's twin brother recounting. I mean, this is tough to watch recounting, holding his dying brother in his arms and you'll see his mom crying next to him. And then I saw him about a fall, I would go over there, I grabbed him.

I'm, in a weird way, I'm like, sorry that we're starting the show with this today, but he has now been found guilty of murder. He, Carmelo Anthony. He stabbed Austin Metcalfe. Doesn't matter if there was a kerfuffle before they asked him to leave or whatever. It might stab somebody and murder them. Like, even if they say mean things to you, even if they said racial things to you or anything else, you can't just stab somebody. Like, you can say mean things to people. You can, like, once we start okaying violence and this is what broadly has been happening in the country. Oh, you don't like what the United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson's doing. I can understand why Luigi and Mangione might just murder him in Times Square. Oh, you don't like Donald Trump. I could understand why there have been several attempts on his life. Oh, you're sitting in the wrong area and someone approached you. Oh, yeah. You could just kind of stab them. Like, we are starting to pull, I would say pull a thread that really could unravel civil society. So here's a bit more on the aftermath. He was found guilty. Some pretty breaking news to give you right now. The jury has sentenced Carmelo Anthony to 35 years behind bars after finding him guilty of murder. I'm told that he is eligible for parole after he serves half his time. The jury had the option to give him as much as 99 years behind bars, but again, they have chosen to give him 35 years.

Well, only 17 years and he's available for parole. Kind of seems soft. I would have given him the chair,

Okay. I don't even think I need to editorialize what I think would happen here. Like, you know, that Jesse feels the guy should have got the chair. He can end a life right there. 17 years, parole, 35 total. We'll see what happens. You know, and with good behavior and things of that nature, maybe he gets out earlier than that. But I think we can put all that aside because the reason I'm focusing on this, look, people get killed in this country all the time. People get stabbed, people get shot. I think we covered it yesterday. 21 people were shot in Chicago this weekend. Three of them murdered. But it was all black on black crime, so nobody cares about it. Right? This, in this case, it was a black guy who killed a black kid, I should say, who killed a white kid. And now it's created this strange racial confusion, I would say, around the case. And it reminds me a bit of, for those of you that remember back all the way back in 19, what was it, 1994, 1995, O.J. simpson case, because O.J. a black man killed obviously two white people, his ex wife and the boyfriend. So I'm show you two videos of Carmelo Anthony supporters. So he has these supporters that are showing up to the courthouse that are out on the streets demanding he be freed. You know, basically saying, hey, they said something mean to him and he shouldn't be in jail, something like that. So I'm gonna show you two videos here that are, that are rather hysterical, but I think they are indicative of a broader problem. Once you say, oh, I'm going to care about this person more because of their race or that person less because of their race. Take a look.

And even if they think it's unjust that they're not allowed to sit in the player's area or whatever it was they. That you can't stab somebody. You can't just murder somebody in cold blood. And of course, she would be taking the opposite position if the races were flipped. Right? Here's one more.

Well, he was sitting there, brought a knife to this thing, was sitting in the wrong area and was repeatedly asked to leave if they had attacked him, if they had brought knives out and then there was a knife fight or a baseball bat or something. Then absolutely, you could argue self defense, but that's not what happened here. And that's. Forget my opinion of it or your opinion of it. That's what the jury decided. Now over on Court TV where they cover these things 24 hours a day. Again, there's this weird racial filter on this thing. Here's one of the panelists who's obviously very upset because the kid who killed someone in cold blood, who died out in his brother's arms, was convicted of murder. But besides. Wow. Which a lot of us are feeling. Thoughts?

I was not expecting the top charge. I really was thinking that they would see manslaughter, still guilty, but manslaughter, different sentencing fights,

guilty of murder. So, you know, that's heavy. Wow. Now again, it's so interesting because they cause us all to think about things in a racial lens by constantly telling us we're systemically racist and that, you know, the ultimate sin of America is slavery and all of those things. If this had been reversed, right, if it had been a white kid who stabbed a black kid, then those women would not be out there, right? Obviously they wouldn't be out there on Court tv. The white host would not be so guilty as he tosses to the black panelists. There is this weird thing that we've injected into the system that is so toxic and antithetical to what the melting pot of America is and what lady justice is all about. There's a reason she has a blindfold over her eyes in that statue that's outside of all of our courthouses. But now we've created this. It's not necessarily two tier system, but we've put something noxious into the system that creates this sort of hysterical reaction when things don't go your way. And speaking of hysterical reactions, we have not shown you video of her lately, but we have talked about her a bit because Jasmine Crockett, who was congresswoman from the Houston area then ran for Senate and she was not bananas lefty enough for the base. So they went with this Talarico guy. We're gonna show you two videos of her now. Here she is opining on this situation and apparently she would have stabbed this kid too.

Also her fantastic voyage that she took before that the kid wasn't £300, he wasn't on top of him or anything else. So she makes up a completely fabricated story. And yes, I suppose it if a 300 pound man attacked her and was on top of her, I would be for her stabbing him. Yeah, but that has literally nothing to do with what happened in this case. Then she doesn't know what the weapon is. And she argues that when she finds out what the weapon is, you know, that 3.5-inch knife, 3.5 inches or something like that, that, that is not a deadly weapon. Even though Austin Metcalfe is dead. I mean this woman. And again, she was too sane for the Democrats of Texas. Here's one more with her and this one, I almost thought it was AI. It is so profoundly absurd what she says right here. I literally. I double checked it with Grok.

I mean that. That is genuinely. Sorry guys, this isn't our funniest show ever. I'll make it up on the second half. But like, that is genuinely one of the most psychotic and disgusting things I have ever heard. If you are a black mother in America, I would hope that you would just teach your kids that it's a pretty great place and you can get out there and go do your thing and make something for yourself and that's pretty freaking good. And maybe stay off drugs and don't commit crime and see what happens. Like get out there and do it. And in some sense you could argue, especially in blue areas, you probably have a lot of advantages. Things are tilted in your way actually. But that she says that Austin Metcalfe's family has never been in the fear and agony that a random black mother is in. Their son is dead. But do you think the woman we showed you in the video earlier with the son crying as his brother dies out in his arms is not in agony? But this is what some people call it, reverse racism. It's just racism. This Is what racializing everything does. If you put, if the world is just the world, but you put on race glasses all the time and those race glasses only get to see things the way you want them to see to fit your preconceived notion of how racism works, then you will find, well, ultimately you will become a crazy person. And I think that explains Jasmine Crockett. Alright, let's leave that there. And again, I'm only covering the story. People get killed in America all the time. People get murdered in cold blood all the time. Again, just look at Chicago. They just. The racial thing doesn't quite add up. I just have a feeling that this case is going to become something more particularly on the streets in blue cities. But we will see now. All right, so let's put that aside. So now they have to repackage the guy, repackage him. And he has a new campaign theme, guys. It's redemption.

She does not, because she voted for Brett Kavanaugh. Yet we just had, not more than a week ago, very serious allegations against this very same guy who's now the defender of women. But now that there's a political electoral opportunity to maintain their majority in the Senate and Graham Platner could outseat Susan Collins. You know what? It doesn't necessarily matter. The 10 plus years of arguments we've made about morals and ethics against Trump and Republicans who've empowered Trump, because we can win a seat.

The point of all this is don't let them use this crudge anymore. Don't let them use this weapon on us anymore because they have no integrity, they have no standards whatsoever. And all they are out to do is get power. And that is a fundamental. I'm sorry, but that is just a fundamental difference between Republicans and Democrats. You may not like all the things Republicans do, you may not like all the things conservatives do, but there's a set of beliefs around the Constitution usually having something to do with religion, in most cases, not all. There is some set of beliefs. And then people have to map that to also electing people who will get power. Right? Trump, I would say, understands the power part more and the winning part it more. You got to like combine those two things. The only thing the Democrats have, there is no set of beliefs right now other than we will attain power and we will punish the people who are stopping us. So you better hope that they don't get power soon. But okay, let's talk about them getting power because as you know, in California, two elections happened, gubernatorial, which it looks like Steve Hilton will be in second place. So thankfully they didn't pull the whatever rug they could have pulled or glass they could have broke. In the case of Gavin Newsom's words, they didn't push Tom Steyer forward. So looks like Hilton will be in at second against Becerra. That'll happen in November. And of course, the one that's getting everybody nuts is that on election night, which was one week ago yesterday, it looked like it was going to be Spencer Pratt and Karen Bass. But then magically Nithy arrived. Rahman came out of nowhere even though she conceded the election on election night. And she got huge swaths of the mail in ballots and magically Pratt is out and it'll be Democrat lunatic versus Democrat lunatic. When you take this long to count the ballots, of course people are going to have questions about it. Plus the whole system out there. I mean, there's a reason that ballot harvesting, for instance, is illegal in a great many states. You've got millions of ballots that are mailed out to people who didn't ask for them. You have no voter id, you have these ballot harvesters showing up, you know, you don't know them. They show up at your house helping people fill out their ballots and turning them in. I mean, I'm not, I don't know of any evidence that the election is real of elections. I understand. If everybody gets a ballot, does that make it okay? Or, you know, I'm imposed this on everybody.

The key word there is seemingly and in some sense I think you can argue, and a lot of people have been making this point online that all of the brokenness around it, the fact that it all feels so crappy is partly what they want. The numbers are not good anymore. The people who have come in are multiplying way faster. They're telling us that's what they are going to do, et cetera, et cetera. But there are some good things happening here in America. Check this out from Fox on what the House just did to codify some of the things Trump's been trying to make happen.

Breaking tonight, a measure to fund Customs and Border Patrol and ICE is on its way to President Trump's desk for his signature. Signature. Congressional correspondent Bill Milligian is here with the tales on how the long awaited legislation finally made it through Congress. Good evening, Bill. John, good evening to you. Good to see you. Like you said, it's finally over. Just a short time ago, House Republicans passed the Senate's clean bill to fund ICE and CBP with $70 billion over the next three years. It will now head to President Trump's desk to be signed. The final vote here was 214 to 212. Every Republican president voted yes. Every Democrat present voted no, while independent Congressman Kevin Kiley also voted no because he says the bill included no reforms to ice.

All right, well, that is going to Trump's desk and he obviously will sign it. That goes without question. Right, so he's going to sign it and ICE and Border Patrol will be funded to the tune of, what was that? $70 billion. And of course, this will keep these lunatics doing their sanctuary city stuff and out on the streets and everything else and they'll try to shoot, shut down the government over something that's already funded and everything else. But Donald Trump is doing exactly what he said he was going to do. And guess what? Well, the numbers prove that this is what the people want him to do. Here's the dork with the screen, Harry Anton. I think the guy, maybe it's just that his belt is too tight or something, but here he is explaining that Trump is doing quite well because he is doing what he said he was gonna do. 21st century presidents, immigration approval. This point in term two, guess who has the highest approval in immigration? It's Donald John Trump. Who has the highest approval on immigration? 42%.

Barack Obama was just at 36%.

George W. Bush was way down there. At 30%. So at this point, Republicans are more trusted on immigration than Democrats are. And more than that, after the most consequential policies when it comes to immigration of any president this century, Donald Trump has the highest approval of any president president on immigration at this point in a second term. All right, so you might look at that number and go, man, it's only 42% on immigration. Like it should be way higher than that. But just remember, we are a completely divided country. We just, they just showed you, Fox, how this thing broke down in the house 214 to 212. I think it was like, think about it. Not one Democrat was like, oh, we should have a border. And not one Democrat was like, oh, we should make sure that people who are here illegally are kicked out and everything else. So we are deeply divided. But Trump is standing in a much better position on his number one issue, which was border and deportations. Then, well, you saw George W. Bush and Obama, et cetera, et cetera. So that bodes well, I would say. And let's wrap up today's show with a couple Iran updates. We had a 40 day military war. Then we had this pause with the blockade of Strait of Hormuz. Then we had some talks in Pakistan and they kept sending JD There, which I'm sure he was like, yes, I'd love to get on the plane to Pakistan again to talk to these guys. Then there's been some shooting back and forth and then it got a little bit hot yesterday. Once again, listen to this from Trump on truth. I have just been informed by our great military that last night the Iranians shot down one of our highly sophisticated Apache helicopters while patrolling over the Strait of Hormuz. There were two pilots involved. Both are safe and uninjured. Nevertheless, the United States must of necessity respond to this attack. Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. Trump so yes, we are striking Iran, which happened last night. And my guess is there's going to be a bit more today. Here's FOX on that, Sean Centcom has just announced that the airstrikes targeting Iran have ended for now. 20 targets in total were struck.

The initial targets included air defense systems and radars. Explosions have been reported at at least six sites on Kesham island over Bushehr

Hamadan in Iran's port city of Syriac,

near the mouth of the Strait of Hormuz and also Bandar Abbas, one of the main oil terminal port cities. CENTCOM called the strikes defensive and proportional. All right, so look they attacked one of our helicopters. While we're in the midst of this ceasefire talk, obviously we were going to strike back. Now we will see. Will they let it be and negotiate again? We will see. But I thought this was interesting. One more from Scott Jennings today, because no matter what. Well, there's a couple things at the end of this. At the end of this, it's like we can get something on paper. First off, we would need to know that it could be verified that they're really going to get, you know, enriched uranium out and all of that stuff. But it's also like, how much of this. How much of this will matter once the Democrats. Which at some point the Democrats will take over again. The Democrats will gladly send them cash again. The Democrats would gladly have them rebuild their army and start nuclear programming again and everything else. So the issue there's, I would say it's a bit of a linguistic thing in some sense, but it's like, is there going to be real peace or just at the very least, a neutered Iran for now? Here's Scott Jennings with a bit on that.

I think the President's move here was righteous. I think going after the Iranians was correct. But the idea that we're going to have a peace deal with people who chant Death to America, I think we got to stop looking at it that way. We're going to end up with a deal, but it's going to be a military and an economic subduing deal, and it's going to be in conjunction with our partners.

Well, the President doesn't really call it a peace deal.

It just says it's a deal.

I know, but I think. I think people are thinking of this, like, traditionally, like, oh, we had a war and then all of a sudden we have some kind of a deal and everybody's happy. No one, they're not going to be happy with us. They're never going to be happy with us. And we have to internalize that.

Right. You know, it's a fundamental difference and it's an important point to make. Like, I don't see any version of this on the other side, at least until the people of Iran were to truly take out the IRGC and get rid of all of the mullahs and all that stuff, where it's going to be like, oh, It's World War II is over. Now America and Japan can start working together and ultimately become incredible allies as we are with Japan or even with Germany itself. Right. Germany, which then underwent an incredible reformation and unfortunately is in Bad shape now, mostly because of immigration. But Germany, which obviously is a Western ally of ours, it's not like Iran would be that. But I think what Trump understands, and it's what Jennings is talking about, is that at the very least, what you can do is make sure they can't build nukes for a long time and that you crush enough of their machinery and you make it obvious that them paying terrorist proxies all over the world to do bad things is not going to pay. So that doesn't mean you're going to have peace and you're going to have parties with mojitos and Hugo spritzes, but you might have just a cold enough peace so less people are getting killed, which I think is what Trump wants. One more from Trump on truth. Iran's military is a complete and total mess. Much of it, like their navy and air force, doesn't even exist anymore. They have been completely defeated. Iran is all talk and no action. The bully of the Middle east is dead. They've taken too long to negotiate a deal that would have been great for them. Now they will have to pay the price. So I don't know exactly what that means. Meaning, is Trump going to escalate now? Is he going to, you know, does he want to just spend three more days bombing the high hell out of them until they beg us for a deal? Like, why is the deal taking so long? We will find out. And I thought this was just interesting. You know, these betting markets are constantly talking about when this thing will end. Poly market, 5%, say by June 15. That's in a couple days. I would say no way. By the end of June, 18%. That's. That seems unlikely. That one seems sort of, maybe to the backdrop of July 4th, Trump getting something right before that, maybe a third of the people basically say end of July, and then 43% by August, 67% by the end of the year. So we shall see. But as I've said from day one on all of this, I think at this point, after all of these years, the track record and the people around him, Trump deserves our trust with some of this stuff. And I thought we'd end the show today on a nice note, really. You know, we started, it was pretty dark at the beginning with all that Austin Metcalfe, Carmelo Anthony stuff, but here is Donald Trump giving advice to the Coast Guard Academy. And maybe this captures a little bit more of the spirit that we need right now. Maybe help you a little bit on your way.

But what if it's actually true? I actually think it is true. I think fundamentally, if you have your eye on something and you will relentlessly go to it, it doesn't mean you will get that exact thing, but I think you will get something close to it. When I was in high school, and I have my high school yearbook, almost every. Everyone in my high school yearbook said, dave, you're going to host the Tonight show one day. That was the line. It's in my high school yearbook probably 50 times now. I'm not hosting the Tonight show, nor would I want to host the Tonight show now, but I'm doing something pretty close to it. And I never stopped. There were times that I wanted to stop. There were times that I had no freaking money. All the nights standing on the street corners of New York City handing out comedy show tickets so I could get on stage. And I was absolutely broke and literally borrowing change from my friend to buy a cup of coffee. The debt that I went into, all of those things, but I kept going and going and going. Never quit. And people, you know, young YouTubers now, because I'm an OG guy, I guess on YouTube, I meet kids. Like, they're kids to me, but they're in their 20s or something who'll be like, dave, how do I build the channel? What do I do? And always, like, I always say one thing. I say, I know this is gonna sound cliche, but don't stop. It's the same thing that Trump is saying, don't quit, don't stop. Go, go. You wanna do something, go do it. Don't do the reverse, which is everything that the left has sold you, which is pity me and someone give me something and I want that and oh, that person has it, so I'll burn it down. How about go get something and maybe, maybe you won't get the exact thing, but I'm pretty sure, I think it's baked into the nature of reality. You will get something pretty damn close.
